Hellooooooo, I’m here with headcannons for Giyuu! There will be three different sets of Giyuu headcannons in this post, and I’ll put the third one under the cut cuz it has some triggering topics, but you won’t see it unless you want to! So first we have Giyuu x Trans reader, then Giyuu x short reader, then the last one (more info about the last one later). Also, I keep checking to see if the cut worked, but for some reason it isn’t on my dash, so please let me know if it is for you. I’ve tried everything I can think of, so if it’s not working for others, I just post the last one separately. With that, let’s get into it:

Headcannon set #1: Giyuu x trans reader (platonic)

warnings: swearing (please tell me if I missed any)

when you first came out to him, he was a bit worried. Not in a shitty transphobic way, but about what you had been going through, and alone no less

However, he immediately is accepting of you

He somehow remembers new pronouns and new name right away

He got it wrong once, then immediately corrected himself, and that was the first time for him using them. He hasn’t gotten in wrong since

(If FtM) He’ll find some of his old clothes and if you like them, he’ll let you have them. He’ll also help you cut your hair if you want

(If MtF) He’ll ask Shinobu or Mitsuri if they have any old clothes. If you’re not out to them yet and they ask what for, he’ll just say “project” and not say anything else. They get more confused then before, but if they have anything they’ll give it to him

(If trans nonbinary) He’ll ask if you want new clothes and/or cut your hair, and if you do, he’ll help you. He has no problem wrapping his head around the nonbinary identity cuz I feel like he studies plants and fungus in his own time (idk why), and some fungi have hundreds of different sexes

He will CORRECT ANY DEMONS who you’re in battle with if they call you by the wrong pronouns. The first time it happened he didn’t cuz he wanted to make sure you were ok with it, and you said: “oh my gosh, please do, it’s always been my goal to see a human correct a demon on something they can’t argue with them about”. This made him smile a little at the fact that that was your goal

Headcannon set #2: Giyuu x short reader (platonic)

Soooo… he’s not like, mean about it, but he will do things that you THINK is teasing, but you can’t tell cuz he says it with a completely blank face and monotone voice.

Yeah, I take that back, he very clearly teases you, and is somewhat mean, but not mean enough to hurt your feelings, but just enough to piss you off a little.

(Also, in theses head cannons you’re like short-short. Like shorter than Shinobu, and she’s 4’11.)

There was this one time where you were trying to reach something just barely to high up for you (like one fucking millimetre), and he’ll just watch you and randomly say something like “you know, if you stand there long enough, you might grow the little bit you need to reach it”, and then just walk away, leaving you whining cuz he could easily get it for you.

He also now puts things there as much as possible just to tease you a little.

You don’t mind it to much though. Don’t get me wrong, it annoys the shit out of you, but it’s rare that he’s so playful, so it also makes you kind of happy, but in a pissed off way.

There was even this time where you wanted some floating shelves in your room, so Giyuu said he would get some of the helpers around headquarters and the Hashira estates to do it, but when he was asked how high up they should be, he told them to measure the place where you just barely can’t reach to. He got you a stool for it after about a day though, he still wants you be able to use it, he just likes to tease you in his own ways.

He’s the only one allowed to do things like this though, anyone else must have a fucking death wish.

Once Shinobu tried to tease you about your height, and Giyuu just perked up, but like… in anger (what-), and Shinobu hasn’t tried that since out of fear of what would happen, and that girl fears NOTHING.

Yeah, he’s THAT friend, but we love him for it <3

Now, for those who stayed, let’s re-get into it:

Headcannon set #3: Giyuu x self harming reader (platonic, comfort kinda)

warnings: Self harm, mental illness, swearing (please tell me if I missed any)

He noticed little things about you that seemed a bit off pretty early on in your friendship, and was a bit worried, but didn’t really think about it

It wasn’t until the day when he saw the little marks on your body that didn’t look like they came from demons (ie: small burns, little cuts, random tiny scabs, ect) that he gets really worried

When he first noticed the marks, he chose to keep track of them and see if any new ones showed up between missions or if you were hiding the place he noticed them so he can figure out if they’re self-inflicted or not

The day he confirmed his worries was when he finally confronted you about it

Once he said the first sentence, you broke down into tears

You couldn’t lie to him about it. To you, that seemed worse then what you were actually doing to yourself, even though you knew inflicting harm on yourself was awful

He doesn’t know why you would ever do something like that to yourself. You always seemed so happy

You explained to him about what you were going through to the best of your abilities, and how one day you passed by a knife/razor, ect, and you just snapped

He does his very best to help, and he made sure to check you every night for any new wounds

He also has you journal you progress, what might have triggered a re-lapse, if anything had healed and how you felt that day

He does his best to prevent you from harm of all kinds, and it hurt him so much to think about what kind of emotional pain you must have been going through to do such a thing

Makes sure to keep whatever you used far away from you at all times and pays close attention to your body language

If you look like you might have a re-lapse or just look sad in general, he does his best to comfort you, but he’s not the best when it comes to things like that

If anyone else finds out, he gets worried cause it causes you to panic, which can trigger a re-lapse, so he takes extra good care of you that day to try and help more. He’d make you your favourite food, you two’d watch your favourite movie, and he’d do little things that he knows you enjoy

He just gets really worried, but does his best to stay calm. He cares about you so much, and it hurts him to think about you harming yourself
