You love your boyfriend, really wholly and truly but it’s times like these where you want to wring his neck out and bury him in your (quite huge) backyard. Rolling over in bed you let your blurry eyes drift over the alarm clock next to your bed, the numbers were bright green against stark black in the darkness of your bedroom. The clock read 1:32 am. And you were alone in bed, big surprise.
Thinking back to middle school, your math teacher always said there were three constants in life: death, taxes, and A squared plus B squared equals C squared. But obviously your teacher didn’t know Kishibe Rohan because then they would’ve discovered the fourth constant in life. Rohan, your lovely and wonderful and totally not annoying nuisance of a boyfriend never and truly EVER came to bed before 3 in the morning. How he even survived was a mystery to you and anyone to ever know him.
Alas, there you were all alone, so cold, so sleepy, so dramatic. Having let your eyes adjust to the darkness, you pulled the soft covers back from bed and stood up with a yawn. He was most likely still hunched over at his desk, sketching away in utmost concentration unaware of the time. Flicking the bedside lamp on, you stepped into the soft house slippers next to your side of the bed and went through the door and down the dark hallway to where you could see the dim glow of the office light peeking through.
With a creak you pushed the door open and sure enough there he was, still in his day clothes and sat at his desk at the far end of the room. You quietly padded over to where he was sitting- you had your own chair next to his desk where you regularly sat and read, but that wasn’t your destination. You wanted him to come to bed. Now.
“Ro…” you spoke softly, wrapping your arms around his neck from behind. Rohan hummed in response, still staring down at the half-filled page on his desk. It wasn’t often that he got stuck in his work, it always seemed to come so naturally to him. You’d spent hours sitting with him, doing silly poses per his request (did he really need them or did he just want to tease you?) and you knew how fast he worked, pumping out pages and chapters at an insane speed. So to see him staring down at the page with his brows furrowed, you could just tell he was getting sleepy.
“Rohan.” You tried again, this time leaning down to press a soft kiss to his cheek. His green eyed gaze broke from the desk and he let you move his chair slightly so he could face you.
“Yes dear?” He questioned.
“Rohan come to bed.” You whined, smooching his other cheek. He unconsciously leaned into the touch, eyelashes fluttering closed. You did look rather cute he supposed, all cozy in your fuzzy pajama bottoms and big designer shirt that was definitely his.
“I’m tired. You’re tired. Come on.” You grabbed the hand holding his pen causing it to clatter on to the busy desk.
“I’m almost done,” Rohan promises, tired eyes opening again and falling to where his pen had fallen. “An hour more, no more. Go back without me.”
You groan and let go of him, stepping back from his chair and crossing your arms. “You’ve been working on this all day and I can tell you’re tired! You’ve been staring at that panel for forever Ro.” You pout. “I’m sleepy and I want cuddles.”
He turns all the way to face you and raises his eyebrows, tilting his head. “You’re being a baby, (name). I’ll be there soon,” your boyfriend motions to shoo you out of his office. Ruddeee. Expecting you to comply and head back to the bedroom, he simply turns back around and goes back to his work, But you were never one to listen, especially not to him.
With a “hmmph” you uncrossed your arms and turned his chair back around.
“Hey!” Rohan snarled, narrowing his eyes at you. But before he could say anything else you crawled into his lap, facing towards him with your knees on either side of his hips. If he wasn’t going to come to bed and snuggle you, you’d bring the snuggles to him and he could keep working as long as he damn well pleased.
Flabbergasted, your boyfriend’s mouth opened but nothing came out. You simply nuzzled your nose into his neck and wrapped your arms around him, trying to get comfy as you breathed in his scent. All he could do was scoot back to his desk and let you cuddle him as he continued to work, but he found himself finding the page far easier to finish when he had a reason to come to bed.
-
Time passed with you readjusting yourself in Rohan’s lap, mumbling here and there against his skin, and by the time he was actually finished with the chapter, he had found to no surprise that you had fallen asleep on him. The corners of his lips lifted in a smile and he shook his head fondly. You were quite the nuisance sometimes but you meant no harm, if anything you were a saint for putting up with his ridiculous schedule- but he would never tell you that, lest you have something to guilt him with.
The clock on his desk read 2:40 am and he was sure you’d be getting a crick in your neck by now so he set his pen down and tried to carefully stand up with you still clinging to him like a koala, his surprisingly strong arms holding you against him as he carried you out of the office and back to your bedroom. He’d have to come back to turn the office lamp off, hands a bit too full of his sleepy significant other.
When Rohan leans down to place you in bed you whine and open your eyes, grabbing at his arm to pull him on top of you with surprising sleepy strength. With an “oomph” he lands on top of you and a giggle escapes your mouth as you wrap your arms around his lean torso and squeeze hard. “Sleeeeeeep!” You whisper.
An arm on either side of your head, he lifts himself off of you and straddles your hips. “You’re still in your daytime clothes!” You point out and sit up as well, giggling all the while. It seems you’d switched positions, as earlier you’d been the one in his lap and now he’d fallen into yours.
“Well obviously,” he muses. “I wouldn’t have changed into my pajamas mid-work just to keep working.” Rohan rolls his eyes.
Your hands drift up to his head where his headband is still on and your fingers slip under it, pulling it from him and carelessly tossing it to the floor. He groans as your fingers run through his dark green hair, weaving through strands and massaging at his scalp. He’s melting in your hands and you can tell you’re successfully pulling him towards the temptation of sleep.
Or at least that’s what you thought, until he fought against the enticing promises of sleep and head massages to climb off of you and slip out of bed.
“You’ve got to be fuckin’ kidding me!” You groan at him, throwing your arms into the air.
“I’m just going to turn the lamp off!” Your boyfriend raises his hands in defense and before you can accuse him of doing otherwise, he leaves the room. Now anything could happen. He could actually come back like he said, or he’d step into the office to switch the lamp off and let the demons win and pull him back to his soul sucking, time consuming, boyfriend stealing work.
Too annoyed with your false victory, you roll over in bed to face away from the door and pull the blankets tight over your form. You weren’t that upset you reasoned, tucking your legs to your chest. It wasn’t anything new, but it was disappointing that you’d gotten so close to getting him to stay. Squeezing your eyes shut, you let sleep start to consume you and you’re just on the verge of passing out when you hear the door to your room open again.
Rohan assumes you’d already fallen back asleep so he takes his time changing out of his elaborate outfit and into something a bit more comfortable. Once he’d taken his earrings out and carefully placed them on the dresser, he slipped into bed on the opposite side from you- only letting out a huff of surprise when you immediately turned to face him and pulled him into your curled up form.
“Hi.” You smiled, wrapping your arms tight around his waist and tangling his legs with yours. “I thought you weren’t coming back” the admittance falls from your lips and he frowns in response, but can’t really fault you for believing that. Truthfully, he was quite busy most of the time and he had been paying less attention to you than you really deserved.
“Well I’m here now, aren’t I?” Rohan’s hands slip under your shirt to rest against your soft skin and you quietly shriek at the feeling of his cold fingers against your stomach.
“You’re so cold, eugh!” You wiggle away, pushing him half off the bed.
The mangaka scoffs and grabs you by the waist, pulling you back over to him and letting you squirm at the touch of his icy hands against your tummy. “I thought you were begging me to come cuddle you? You better come warm me up then.” he smirks, pressing a tired kiss to your neck as you squirm in his grasp.
Eventually you settle with a few more kisses, this time on your collarbones, and then just below them as Rohan rests his head on your chest, letting a sleepy sigh pass his lips as you finally stop resisting and cuddle into him just as you’d been begging for an hour ago. Even though it was way too late (or early?) you happily let him settle into you and feel yourself slowly slipping out of consciousness. No matter, you can just convince him to sleep in with you the next morning.

Randomized Robins AU - Ages + Worst Trait Exercise:
Steph (25):
Says her worst trait is her murderous rages (she is exaggerating for dramatic/comedic effect, she’s killed 3 people tops and for very good reason)
Thinks her worst trait is her spitefulness (one of the few traits she definitely got from her father + one that prevents her from fixing her relationships and living her best possible life. She’ll refuse to interact with someone she dearly loves after an argument (happens significantly less after Tim’s death) or will say things she knows are hurtful just for the sake of having the last word. This trait will worsen in some ways as the list of people who have wronged her and those she loves grows, but will also ease up as she matures and realizes the harm it’s doing to her relationships with those she loves most.)
Her worst trait really is her spitefulness
Cass (26)
Says her worst trait is her self-righteousness (she believes that her goals are righteous and, as a result, she is righteous. Cass becomes very defensive whenever someone questions the mission and often does not second-guess herself. This is a trait she only develops later in life as she grows closer to Bruce/learns to understand herself more/starts to love herself more. But she knows she isn’t perfect and when somebody she trusts criticizes something she is doing she is willing to listen. She just usually isn’t the one to START the introspection.)
Thinks her worst trait is her self-righteousness.
Her worst trait actually is her obsessiveness (she gets it from Bruce and, while not as bad as him, she will easily become preoccupied with her night-life and the mission if someone isn’t there to pull her back. She will do this to the point of self-destruction and it hurts her relationships with the people she loves, especially Steph.)
Tim (24)
Says his worst trait is his spitefulness (he actively rejects the idea of mending his relationships with the older members of the family and this causes him to also lack good relationships with the younger ones)
Thinks his worst trait is his obsessiveness (similar to Cass, if he gets fixated on a task or idea he will neglect everything else in his life in order to dedicate more time to it. Unlike Cass, he will almost never be dragged away from it unless Pierrot snatches control of the body and forces them to take care of themself.)
His worst trait actually is how manipulative he is (the KING of guilt-tripping and using people’s emotions against them. He’ll do whatever he needs to do to get what he wants, he’s not above crocodile tears. And he will do it to whoever he needs (or wants) to with little care for how his actions impact others.)
Pierrot (Insists: “Age doesn’t apply to me! And even if it did, I'd probably be the oldest. Or the youngest! I’d never be a middle child, though.” Mental assessments by the Bats have put him around 21, with a margin of error of 3 years. Pierrot has called this “blatant character assassination by my eternal rival!”)
Says his worst trait is that he is an irredeemable psychopath without any regard for the wellbeing of others (this is a lie and everyone who's important to him understands this).
Thinks his worst trait is his parasitic nature (he literally would not exist had Tim not suffered the way he did. Plus he is a living reminder of one of the worst things that happened to many of his loved ones. He is a parasite injected into a functional person's body and contributes to his continued suffering. This is also a largely incorrect judgement of himself, caused by his actual worst trait.)
His worst trait actually is his limited sense of self (he doesn’t really know who he is outside of ‘inheritor to the legacy of the Joker (a man he despises yet also views as a father)’ and ‘chip in Tim’s brain that became sentient’. He slowly develops an identity over the course of his life and relationships with other people, but he lacks the foundations of identity that most people have. Pierrot will often almost become a caricature of himself and what others perceive him to be because it's the only person he knows how to be. This causes wild swings in how he behaves and relates to others, sometimes to the detriment of himself and others.)
Dick (17)
Says his worst trait is his clinginess (he is a very extraverted person who likes to be around others, which mixed with his fear of abandonment after his parents died means that if he goes a few days without seeing/talking to a friend he will get very anxious.)
Thinks his worst trait is his anger issues (he gets ticked off very easily and will explode on people. He’s kind at his core and is usually very nice, but he has a temper that can escalate significantly. Spoiler (and later Twist) help him channel this anger into something positive.)
His worst trait actually is his anger issues.
Barbara (18)
Says her worst trait is her disability (internalized ableism, she thinks of herself as less valuable than the other Bats because she cannot be out there in the capes like they can. She will grow out of this as she matures and as she learns how invaluable her support for the team is.)
Thinks her worst trait is her disability
Her worst trait actually is her overly-independent nature (In an attempt to overcompensate for everything she can no longer do, she has resolved to do literally everything that she possibly can without any help from others. This results in many instances where she either takes on too much and winds up not being able to fully realize any of her tasks or where she makes her life and the lives of others significantly harder by refusing help when offered/not asking for it when she needs it.)
Damian (16)
Says his worst trait is his perfectionism (he is overly critical of both himself and others, taking any flaw or problem and amplifying it to an absurd degree. This is due in part to his life with the LoA (where even a brief misstep could lead to death), in part to how others treated him initially as Spoiler (any flaw was fixated on and used as a reason to either mistrust him or portray him as unworthy of the mantle), and in part due to the fact that he is Bruce’s son (the only person with worse perfectionism problems than Damian). Gradually, Damian has improved in this regard but it’s still a massive barrier to both his own happiness and his relationships with others.)
Thinks his worst trait is his perfectionism
His worst trait actually is his perfectionism
Duke (16)
Says his worst trait is his definitely-real secret evil side (says this as a ‘my dad is a villain so who knows??’ joke)
Thinks his worst trait is his impulsivity in his words (Sometimes he will crack a joke or say a remark without thinking it through, leading to a LOT of hurt feelings and drama. He’ll say something without thinking it through and wind up seeming insensitive. This isn’t done because of malice, rather because Duke is someone who’s quick to act and speak. But while the mantle of Insight and his awakening powers have helped him with his actions, they do not always help with his loose tongue. As such, Duke gains an unfair reputation in the media as an instigator and will accidentally cause family drama through what he says.)
His worst trait actually is his impulsivity in his words
Jason (14)
Says his worst trait is his bad manners (he grew up on the streets and has no idea how rich-people society works, which he’s pretty insecure about considering he’s now the youngest kid of Bruce freaking Wayne).
Thinks his worst trait is his reactiveness (Jason never got the privilege of planning ahead for various events in his life, so he instead needed to rely on being swift and harsh in how he could react to situations. It’s saved his life on multiple occasions and helps significantly in his role as Spoiler, but it can also lead to extreme overreactions (accidentally causing kidnapping scare after Jason ran away following a fight with Dick) and a struggle to plan things out ahead of time. As he grows more secure in his place in the family and in life, this trait will lessen but never fully dissipate.)
His worst trait actually is his reactiveness
