#his songs are so unique and creative and cool and i just think if he wants to pursue music he should do it
Note
How would Bill react to his s/o who's songs are like Melanie Martinez ? Her songs all have deep and powerful meanings and she has a whole story around her albums. And from that she has a very unique style and just very "weird" when performing ? Like putting a lot of emotions and acting when she's performing her songs.
(Hello! Sure I can and I hope you enjoy!)

He could listen to you sing for hours on end
No matter when or where he can always listen
Doesn't Matter what the song is or way it's about
He really likes the messages you send with your songs
He would always listen to you coming up with the songs or be there when you start writing them
He always loved how you write them and how creative you can get with the lyrics
Especially with deep messages in them like anti-bullying or being yourself
Stuff like that he loves and he loves that about you
He wishes he had more of your type of songs when he was getting famous or that he would have listened to when he was younger
He really likes the story you came up with to surround your albums
He thinks its a cool idea and he likes the vibe
He knows every single thing about the story from start to finish
But would pretend to forget just so you could go over it with him once again
He likes how deep you get into the story and he can see the work and love you put into your music
He loves and admires that about you
He feels so sad if you're songs with meanings are about events that you went through, especially if they were hard, or about trauma you experienced
He felt bad he wasn't there to help you through that
But he loves how you fight it, speak up about it and bring stuff like that to attention for your fans in case they also struggled with that
He also really loves your style and vibes that you have
Like what people deem "weird" about your style he loves it
He probably helps you pick your your next outfit or style to go with for the next concert
He loves that you're not afraid to be yourself and express yourself like that even when people think you're weird
You helped him with his own style when he sorta struggled with people calling him weird for it when he started out
You going on there and doing your thing while people called you weird gave him the confidence to not care what they think about his style
He loves going to your concerts and seeing you just be yourself on there
Is cheering you on from backstage or in the crowd
He loves all your performances
He would be so giddy and bashful if you wrote a song about him and your relationship
He cherishes that shit
He loves the emotions you have on stage
Even if they're acting but especially when they're real
Even if you're acting and playing a part, especially sad ones he is full on believing it
But he is your biggest cheerleader have no doubt about that

Why Jungkook made an explicit version of SEVEN, and why we should be thanking him for it.
The answer to the first question is short:
Because he wanted to.
THAT'S IT, AND IT'S ENOUGH.
It's his song, his career, his voice, his time. It's his choice. He doesn't need OUR approval and he certainly doesn't need our permission.
Tumblr media
I think we should be thanking him frankly.
Not just because he made a sexy song although I think it's more sweet than sexy personally but also because it's started so many conversations that I think we need to have.
And that's what is really on my mind, The conversations we need to have, not just about JK and his artistry and his choices, but also about ARMY. About us as human beings.
Let's start with him...
JK's Adult Life:
First thing for me is that JK is UNQUESTIONALBLY an adult. But he's a (relatively) young adult in an industry that's very judgemental, controlled, and tightly scheduled.
He may have money coming out of his wazzoo and millions of adoring fans, but he has limited personal freedom. It's sure as hell not an exchange I would make. I'd choose an average income and the freedom to walk down the street hand in hand with my guy without making headlines - every day of the week.
The fact that he has any kind of personal life is cause for celebration in my eyes. And like the 19+ version of the song, it should be his choice.
I hope it is what he wants it to be. I hope he does have s3x every day of the week if he wants it (and I'm quietly cheering him on) but I don't need to know. I'm not going looking for any information (gossip, let's be real) about that aspect of his life because it's none of my business.
Tumblr media
JK's Artistic and Creative Choices:
The songs he sings, the photos he poses for, the choreo for his dances, the words he speaks... these are his creative expression. To an extent they reflect who he is as a person, but largely they reflect a concept or story he wants to tell with his music. I would really hate it if he started creating work with the aim of pleasing someone else (ARMY, or the media, or any other entity). To me that would mean he had lost his self-belief, and that his spirit was broken. It would be a sign that he was more motivated by fear of rejection than by his own desires and creativity.
Personally I love that he trusts us and shows us so much of himself through his art. If that ever changed, it would be a sad, sad day indeed.
Tumblr media
Cool, that was easy
Now let's talk about ARMY - and for the purposes of this discussion, I'm talking about ALL OF ARMY but mostly in relation to JK.
ARMY - Our Diverse Fandom:
The fandom has a beautifully broad demographic. I love that about us. Of course it means we have differences, but if we acknowledge that and we respect each other's right to those differences, we are all good.
And because we are all fabulously unique individuals, it's a given that not everything JK (or BTS) creates will appeal to every one of us.
BUT...
We can support their right to make creative choices without engaging with the things that don't work for us.
If some ARMYs are uncomfortable with explicit lyrics, they can scroll past/skip/block songs that are outside their comfort zone.
If some of ARMYs are minors, their parents can supervise their media consumption (because that's their job as parents).
If some ARMYs feel that songs about making woopie aren't their jam, they can instead listen to other songs that are more to their taste.
Magic! Problem solved!
Not really...
Tumblr media
We really do need to talk about S3X
ARMY, we are humans:
Most humans have s3x. As adults (hopefully), when we are ready (hopefully), and if we want to (hopefully).
So what's the big deal about an adult making a choice to sing about that? We were all fine with him singing about 'loving you seven day a week' but when he clarified what that meant, suddenly there was a crisis.
Is it the word F**K? Because if it is, that word is everywhere and it's honestly just a word. He's sung it before. RM sang it, YG sang it, JM sang it. And let's be real, Letto's lyrics were far more explicit and she didn't say that word once.
WARNING: REAL S3X TALK COMING UP.
Is it because he's explicitly telling us that he's sexually active? Did we forget he's an adult? Where do we think he learned to move his hips like that... yoga?
Tumblr media
For the ARMYs who are shocked that JK is sexually active, where do you think you came from? We humans don't reproduce like flowers. You were also concieved. Your parents, your grandparents, your great grandparents, have all had s3x... probably many, many times because s3x isn't only about reproduction. It's also about human connection, pleasure, stress relief, and being an adult.
In his live, JK told us that he doesn't consider the explicit lyrics to be 'dirty' and that's awesome.
S3x positivity is healthy both physically and emotionally. Seiously, considering how much of our humanity is linked to this instinctive need, it would be so much better if we weren't conditioned to feel shame about it. If we were instead taught to talk about it comfortably, to express our desires, to understand our bodies, and to protect our rights.
I could go on and on about this (and about control, the patricarchy, and body autonomy) but let's just say that JK is right. It's not dirty, its not immoral. When consenting adults choose to do it with someone they trust it's f**king awesome.
If the term sex positive is new to you and you want to find out more, please do. It could make all the difference in the world to your happiness as an adult. There are many websites you can look at to get more information. This is just one.
Even if nobody else is going to, I am going to say THANK YOU JK for this opportunity to talk about s3x. It's an important part of being human!

Spy x Family OP3: Kura Kura
youtube
Okay, there's a lot of stuff that I'm unfamiliar with in terms of proper names and terms with this opening, but it's just so damn cool that I have to talk about it. Building on the styles of the first two openings, it brings a sense of familiarity that's completely outshone by the incredibly creative approach that OP3 brings with it.
Yes, it's the best Spy x Family opening even though the new season isn't out yet. That's what Masaaki Yuasa gets you (go check out the Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken OP)
Alright so first off, the opening cut of our characters. I love everything about it. The energy, the perspective, the color design. It's all super great, and the icing on the cake is the punchy animation that accentuates and exaggerates the movements of the characters.
Also, the music really is just a perfect match. I'm not a big Ado fan myself, but this is just an impeccable choice.
Tumblr media
Anyways, right away the opening sets the tone for the very unique approach to animation. Quite smooth, but very snappy at times, if I were to explain it. I'm not doing a frame by frame to check or anything, but they're certainly hanging on quite a few sequences before squeezing others in or making large movements between frames. Just look at how each of the characters joins the sequence, there's actually a good deal of movement hidden in the appearance.
Though I think my favorite part from this sequence is the simplicity in wiping the characters when a new one appears. Given the style of movement and the "blink and you'll miss it" speed of it, it brings the addition to the viewer's attention and immediately while adding a good deal of unique feel.
And then there's this follow up piece. There's not much to it in terms of importance or anything but I love it. It's an extension of the dot matrix background and using it to place color on top of a dull background is very fun (also the rainbow at the top).
Tumblr media
I think one of the things that felt absent from both prior OPs was a sense of "wow factor" in how they displayed Yor (and Loid). OP2 brings us a Yor assassin cut, but it feels more pretty and fleeting than exciting and energetic, as expected given the tone of it. Anyways, I'm very happy to see them able to explore the energy of each in this opening.
Also, the way that Yor's spike wipes the frame to introduce Loid? I love it. It's such a chaotic opening that you can easily miss simple things like transitions that can get lost in all the information. Another side note, I really like that Loid only appears when he fires his gun. Just a fun little trick that falls into place alongside other examples of wiping the frame in the opening.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, Anya (and bond) gets their own splash cut like this. Really like how it places Anya on her own stage as it steps away from the style used for Loid and Yor and uses "environment" (read: speech bubbles) to convey her ability and its cons. And another very interesting detail (there's no end to them)! The use that dot matrix style to swap Anya and Bond out between each other. Super easy to miss, but it's there as one of those transitions that you can easily miss.
Wiping the frame, I can't think of a better name for it but it's something that's well loved with the direction of this OP. Just following these cuts we get another of our fearless family, but we see a different trick used. Also, really love the idea of it being framed as circus that Anya runs, so accurate to children and especially Anya.
Anyways, the idea is actually a lack of animation. Crazy, but given the style of animation through these cuts with the focus on snappy and exaggerated movements, it fits right in and looks really interesting. Furthermore (yes, there's still more), the use of visual sound effects (which say: 'Kankakeinai', most likely meant to be 'Kankeinai' as that's what's said by Ado at this point in the song.) is a great way to bridge the gap from Anya's previous cut to this one.
Oh, I should have mentioned it, but that same text-usage matching the song appears in the previous Anya and Bond cuts too.
Tumblr media
Alright, next cut but also one (a little) further down the line: water animation. Lovely stuff. It's not realistic like what you'd see in the ending for My One-Hit Kill Sister, but has a lot of heart in it nonetheless, aiming to blend with the OP rather than make a statement about its quality.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Man, I almost forgot that there's a sequence in reverse in the OP. It's just that crazy. I've shown enough gifs of stuff so I'll spare the trouble (and save it for later) by just sharing a still. It's well animated, obviously, but aside from it being in reverse, there's just one detail to make note of: the dot matrix. It appears as an airplane for just a split second as a way to begin dissolving it from the frame (though it can be hard to make out because Tumblr compression). A very sneaky and subtle way to continue on with the direction established from the start.
Tumblr media
There's lots of tricks in this OP, isn't there? I suppose it's rather similar to the Anya circus one, but slightly different. Keeping in line with the near impossibly hectic style of animation in the opening, we see frame-by-frame cuts alongside some of the best animated sequences. It helps keep that balance, you know? Where we give up on sharpness with some of the faster and more fluid movements, we make up with via these rougher ones.
Tumblr media
Also, would it really be Masaaki Yuasa without some freakishly well animated cuts? Animating cars can already be a challenge in the first place, but not only do we see one heavily featured here, we see it spinning around wildly with characters in it. It's a crazy feat that only madmen like Masaaki would attempt.
Tumblr media
Anyways, don't you dare underestimate Yuasa's insanity. He made people animate a reflection in a teapot. For like a 3 second cut. No, really, he did. Look at this ridiculously pointless detail.
Tumblr media
Okay okay, it's time to wind down a little bit. The wonderfully creative perspective of the OP. It's mostly the cars, but on the more simple sub-to-plane cut it's featured in a more subtle sense just to add something to it, you know? Just to give viewers something a little more interesting to look at.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright, last cut I promise. I was very surprised, and equally impressed, to see this skydive sequence as a single cut. I thought for sure it was going to be split, but keeping it in one piece was a great decision.
Tumblr media
And that's all I think I will chat about, because if I don't call it quits somewhere I'll never stop. Seriously, that's just how full and dense this opening is. For instance, just look at the bottom left image from the gallery above, Anya's drinking tea all fancy like. Crazy little detail that you wouldn't see unless you paused the opening. And this is full of that kind of stuff alongside the incredible and distinct direction and style of Yuasa. It's a gold mine of creativity and expression that only the man himself would be able to pull off, and I love it. Best Spy x Family opening and another to add to the list of incredible OPs this year.

I hope K. will not only produce partybangers in the future. I understand that songs like kovis/morgan are not commercial enough as a single, but icip is just not mine cup of tea. I think he will keep his core fans, but I don't see songs like icip being successful in the charts, but maybe I'm wrong
I understand your concern, and personally I also don't think ICIP will be a commercial hit unless Kääryleet *really* stream the fuck out of it. Idk if you're finnish or not, but here CCC wasn't even the most played radio single of this year, it came in second with Kuumaa's Ylivoimainen being nr 1. Probably because it's more paletable for mainstream audiences. I think the whole point of the ICIP MV is to show that Jere doesn't give a fuck about being commercially successful, if it means he has to censor himself and restrict his creative expression (like for example, being the family friendly "koko kansan Käärijä" that he so desperately wants to shed in the mv).
I don't wish to assume, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't really understand your point of diminishing songs just because they're "partybangers". Yes, Jere has a lot of them, but Kovis isn't even about parties? It's actually quite a personal song to him about realising how bad you must feel about yourself to comment something negative online. And Morgan is about how dumb it is to drink so much you don't remember anything from last night, and on top of that having an awful hangover to deal with.
Further than that, Jere had a very interesting conversation on Urheilucast about his biggest source of inspiration, Rammstein. While their songs are maybe a bit more complex than your usual "partybangers", Esko brought up a good point: even if their music might not be revolutionary or even that hard to play/recreate, it's the show around it that makes it worthwhile. Jere himself said that no matter what you think of their music, the live performance is something everyone should see atleast once in their lives because it's so unique. I'd like to think the same about Jere's music in a way: even if a song like Paidaton Riehuja is just about taking your shirt off and going bananas, the way Jere performs it has so much energy packed into it that you can't help but love it. Same with ICIP, the lyrics might be incredibly basic, but the mv around it has such an insane story and visual side to it that you forget he's singing about parties 24/7. Sometimes music can just be fun and simple and pack a punch in the way it's performed either live or in a music video, it doesn't have to be the most profound thing at first listen.
Would I love some songs like Z, Alaks Olee or Online on the album? Absolutely. I think Jere is not only a good performer but also an incredible storyteller, and he can easily make a song like Alaks Olee again. Do I think his "partybangers" are any less cool just because they might lack in lyrical creativity? No I don't.

phantom hourglass >:3
Ok y’all know that this is like, one of my top three fav Zelda games. I ADORE phantom hourglass. I’m gonna talk about it more in detail.
This game is incredibly flawed, but my gosh the good stuff stick out for me. The story is really good to me and very unique compared to other Zelda stories. Taking the ghost ship idea was so neat and I find Bellum a very cool villain despite not having much of a personality. Oshus is an underrated and neat character, and seems to be one of the only characters to do not ask you to defeat the evil villain cuz it’s too dangerous and he doesn’t want you to be responsible for his own problems. And Ciela and Link going to try to head to the ocean king temple despite his protests makes it feel like Link wanted to willingly do it himself is just, very unique to me. I’m not against characters asking Link to fight the battles despite being so young because he’s the main character and you want to be able to play as him so 🤷‍♀️ however having Oshus not act this way really makes me a benevolent kind man and I really like his character a lot. I think Ciela is cute at times and is the best fairy companion to me. Linebeck is my wife like do I even need to talk about him any further? I’m obsessed with this man, his theme song is amazing, his character development is amazing, and he’s just amazing.
The story to me is very cool and natural, and when you’re not in the ocean king temple, the dungeons are very fun! Phantom hourglass has some of the most unique and fun puzzles ever, and it utilizes the DS in such a creative way! The ocean king temple, imo, is more fun second time around with no guide, and the bosses are SO cool and so different from other bosses! And then the ghost ship part, man not enough people talk about that dungeon! The sisters are so obviously suspicious and evil and it’s cool going through the ship seeing terrifying reaper monsters and different traps. It’s a very unique dungeon and I wish the other dungeons were just as unique. The progression through the storyline at this part is good and after the ghost ship, the game just gets better. The temples are far more unique and creative with amazing items. I love the whole thing with the Anouki and the Yook, and having to find the imposter is challenging but so fun. The Goron Chief’s son is yet another underrated character to me and I love how you can control him in the Goron temple! And the different mini dungeons before the main one with the cobble kingdom was so cool! It’s very good that this game may have a very big temple that seems overwhelming, but it’s linear enough that as long as you move forward, you’ll be fine and be able to get to everything! And then heading to the last levels of the ocean king temple are so amazing. You have the phantom sword and you kill phantoms, the guys that you couldn’t kill before!! And the Bellum battles are so awesome with GOOD music. Any song involving Bellum is good. And y’all know my thoughts on bellumbeck, it’s truly one of the best final bosses to me. It’s so desperate and stressful to do such a thing to such a character, and it was also Bellum’s last desperate attempt to defeat Link. It’s just SOOOOO good and this game is underrated and I love it
Now it’s definitely flawed 💀💀 the world is pretty empty with boring islands before the ghost ship. The npcs on these islands aren’t super interesting and the music makes the dungeons feel too samey to me. Like, this game has GOOD songs, but the mid songs take up too much of the game where it’s kinda lame :/ and I cannot stress this enough, Tetra deserved better. She always deserved better. She has been done dirty in every game she’s been in. Always reduced to a damsel in distress, which there’s nothing wrong with those characters, but did it need to be done with Tetra’s character? It sucks the life out of her for me and I just, hate how she’s always needing to be saved. Like come ON Bellum got her TWICE. And lastly, I wish Neri and Leaf got more attention 😔 I have fun playing with three fairies bullying Linebeck.
All in all, I love this game. I really really love it

Aruna communicates mainly with either the LED scrolling text face mask he wears, gesturing using finger pointing,or using text messaging/writing notes. He also uses body language as well. He can speak but whether he wants to is the question.
He also makes a lot of general noises to express his mood. Examples like big sighs, long groans, etc.
He is the lyricist behind SoulBeam's viral 1st single, artist of all the upcoming merchandise, and instrumentalist of the group.
Aruna's UM often leaves him too weak to do things on his own. Adan,Kurai, and Pankraz are quick to notice and react to this by immediately helping him with no questions asked. Tends to get grumpy about this.
Will make you regret ever thinking he is “cute” that's just not his vibe.
His twin sister Alaya is an oc that is being made by a friend so will add more about sibling lore, etc when they are finished.
More on role in SoulBeam will be on the main group post I will post soon.

13 and 15 for the ask game 🫶🏻
Hiii hope you're well ❤️
13. what are some of your favourite lyrics alex has written? (doesn't have to be arctic monkeys, can also include tlsp/ other artist collaborations/the submarine soundtrack)
This is sooooo difficult, and I feel like Alex in that interview with Jo where he can't answer a single thing in fear of getting it wrong 😂 I'm certain I'll pick something and then spend the rest of the day remembering more favourite ones 😂😂
But!! He has written so so so sooooooo many perfect lyrics. I genuinely don't think he has ever written any bad ones which is quite the feat.
I love when he gets all deceptive and crinkled and does twists and turns and almost gets lost in the abstraction and then I also love when he gets so direct that it's almost painful.
"I caught you talking to the real me, can't tell you how unhappy that shit makes me." The Bourne Identity, basically all of it. It hurts so good and it's so unique to his catalogue and he couldn't ever have been so open and endearingly and painfully honest if it hadn't been for the support of Miles 🥰 I love that song to bits.
"There's a set of rickety stairs in between my heart and my head. And there ain't much that ever bothers going up them." From The Element Of Surprise - another example of how writing with Miles brings out a totally different side to his writing. It's such evoking imagery and such a cool way of saying what he's trying to say. So clever but so simple and straight forward, yet still incredibly layered and thoughtful. Also I love when he writes more directly about his personal inner life and thoughts and how he feels about himself. That's when I find him at his best.
Another set of absolutely gorgeous lyrics with powerful imagery is Love Is A Laserquest, the most heartbreaking thing ever. "When I'm pipe and slippers and rocking chair, singing dreadful songs about summer. Will I have found a better method of pretending you were just some lover." It's just so impressively well put and makes us feel SO MUCH with such simple words. Contains MULTITUDES.
Also, I've always enjoyed the way he makes his lyrics feel like almost rap verses, and he has the most amazing flow and he shoves in so many words and different rhythms and tongue twisters and I just love the creativity he applied to his lyrics. An all time favourite song of theirs for me is Red Lights Indicate Doors Are Secured, and especially this bit just sounds so delicious "Drunken plots hatched to jump it, ask around "are you sure?" Went for it but the red light was showing, and the red light indicates doors are secured."
Another example of this is him spitting in Curtains Close "Cause I'm a mad mother-fucker with my curtains open, sitting tucked up in bed."
15. favourite arctic monkeys b-side?
Uuughghjjjj I looooove their b-sides, they're literally incredible.
Nettles is a massive fave, Temptation Greets You, Red Right Hand, Electricity, Wirral Riddler, 7, You And I, I.D.S.T... I could keep going forever 😂😂
Thank you so much for the lovely questions ❤️

What is Gordie and Benrey's love languages? (Physical Touch, Quality Time, Words of Affirmation, ect)
i'm not the biggest fan of the love languages for reasons this video explains well, that being said it is a cute little character thought exercise anyway so i still wanna answer ^_^
gordie is canonically always touching people. always putting her hands on peoples shoulders, grabbing their arms, stuff like that. she's super handsy! she loves showing physical affection. always wants to hold hands or have her arm around benrey's shoulder or give him quick little kisses. she loves words of affirmation too, she's a mom after all. she's used to dishing out "good job"s and "i love you"s. actions speak louder than words for her but that doesn't mean she won't give out a million words on the side as a bonus.
benrey, on the other hand, is very bad with physical touch. it's not that he doesn't like it when gordie touches him (he really really loves it), it's just super overwhelming for him. he's not used to touch that isn't malicious. gordie has to learn when and how to give him space when he needs it, but she's more than willing to accommodate him.
benrey shows affection in a myriad of strange ways. i guess the best way to describe it is quality time, honestly. he loves following gordie around like a lost puppy. sitting next to her on the couch not doing much of anything. listening to her talk about whatever and staring at her face. he just likes being in proximity of her and being able to chip in with whatever bullshit he's got going on in his head and making her laugh. i do think he likes giving gifts also, but in a cat-giving-you-a-dead-mouse kind of way. like i've said in another ask, he loves getting gordie treats from his gas station. he likes finding new awful games to make her play with him. he also loves finding cool rocks and plants and trash to give her.
i've never mentioned this on tumblr before actually, which is kinda surprising because i think about it a lot, but i think benrey would get into the arts post-canon. like, all of them. he wouldn't be good at any of them in the traditional understanding of what makes art "good," but he's insanely creative and has a unique perspective and a complete disregard for norms and principles. he could make really interesting shit. incomprehensible collages made of absolutely any shit he could scrounge up, pottery comprised of impossible geometry, shitty songs he writes and performs with his guitar covered in miscellaneous stickers and stains, photographs of things that shouldn't exist, etc. he makes all this shit and more for gordie and she loves it. she doesn't understand any of it really, whether any of the things he makes even have a deeper meaning, but she's enamored by how fucked up it all is, and how it's all for her. she's never been an art person, and if you had asked her when she was younger what she thought about modern art she would've laughed and said it was stupid or pointless or something. but she kinda gets it now. it's like sweet voice: it's a language she may not ever fully understand but it's beautiful and meaningful to her all the same, because she gets to experience it when not many others can. she's special enough to be able to see it, and benrey trusts her with it. that's enough for her.

Okay😅 not to be that person, but could you answer ALL of the questions for the music ask game questions for J?💜❤️ I’m honestly really curious🤭👀
Thank you for the ask! 🥰💜💚
💿 - Give us a song that fits your f/o's vibe!
I’ve done this plenty of times lmao so I’ll give name some songs I haven’t really mentioned before:
War Pigs by Black Sabbath, Breathe by Pink Floyd, Blow Up the Outside World by Soundgarden, Bulls On Parade by Rage Against the Machine, Until It Sleeps by Metallica, Break on Through by The Doors, West Coast & Shades of Cool by Lana Del Ray, and Rotten Apple by Alice In Chains (okay this one is self indulgent but I feel like he’d listen to it and the rest of Jar of Flies when he’s in his feels)
I’ve said even more in this headcanon post.
🎙 - What song would you like to sing to your f/o?
Even though I’m not very confident with singing, I’d still sing to him. Probably Sunshower by Chris Cornell since it’s one of my all time favorite songs.
🎧 - Your f/o just found your music player! What song do they find playing on it?
I have a CD player but I don’t use it very often. The only cds I have are the 1994 and 2019 lion king soundtracks, other Disney cds, and Mad Season’s album Above. I want more cds so bad. I know nobody uses them anymore but they’re so cool! And no ads 😅
If J was to catch me using it, Mad Season or the 1994 lion king soundtrack would be playing. Those are the two I play the most.
🎤 - Your f/o caught you singing! What song would you be singing and how would you react? How would they react?
When I’m in the mood, I sing along to almost everything I listen to. So it would just depend on what J walked in on. It might range from P!nk to Korn lmao.
If he likes the song he’ll join me. If he doesn’t really care for it or doesn’t know it, he’ll just watch me and fixate on my voice. He doesn’t care what the song is, he just likes hearing me sing.
🎼 - Give us a song that matches your s/i's vibe!
Yes I’m A Mess by AJR. I was vibing so hard when this song came out. It’s totally me. I’m an utter mess all the time lmao.
Another one that fits me is Hand In My Pocket by Alanis Morisette. It’s about uncertainty and imo just making through life. I have no clue what I’m doing. I don’t have everything figured out just yet and deep down it scares me but I don’t care. I’m just living life until I figure everything out. I feel like a lot of people my age are the same way.
🎹 - Can your f/o play any instruments?
No…not officially. But I have like a little what if headcanon where J can play guitar. It just fits.
🎵 - What song would you recommend to your f/o?
Drumming Song and Cosmic Love by Florence + The Machine. I love those so much. I know it’s not really his thing but I’d like to see what he thinks. He’d probably like Drumming Song.
🎶 - If you could assign your f/o a musical artist, who would it be?
Um, probably Nirvana. Unique, weird, rock vibes is what I’m going for. J is all of those things.
🔊- Does your f/o like loud music?
Yes and no. J is a metal head. Loud music usually doesn’t bother him. But if he’s had a really hard day or he doesn’t feel well and the headache is splitting, he won’t listen to the loud stuff. It tends to make it worse. Instead he listens to acoustic rock, which has the same vibe but it’s calmer and easier on his ears.
💜 - Give us a song that describes you and f/o's relationship!
I don’t think this is very creative but And I Love Her fits us well. I really love Kurt’s version because that’s just my kind of music but the Beatles version works too. Can’t beat the original.
📀 - Does your f/o have a theme song? Show it to us! (Or give us one you think would be their theme song!)
Not a song but he has theme music. It’s Why So Serious? from the incredible genius Hans Zimmer. He wrote the soundtrack for a lot of my favorite movies and I love his work so much.
🕺- What song would you and your f/o dance to?
Dancing Queen by ABBA. I love this song! It gets both me and J moving 🤭

Hi Spud!
Spreading joy into people's inboxes like little boops is a really lovely idea. Somebody could be having the worst day and suddenly it's made a little brighter with a lovely message in their inbox, which is a really beautiful thing! Of course, I wanted to spread this joy back to you as well!
I absolutely love the aesthetic and theme of your blog, and the image of Din with a little frog on his shoulder never fails to make me smile! I also really love your writing style, your stories on ao3 have so many unique and creative ideas. They always leave my heart feeling full! One that really stood out to me was "The Meiloorun Fiasco", which is now one of my favourite dinbo fics!
I remember a while back on discord you said that you're a Coldplay lover too! Your taste in music is amazing 🎶 I also remember you said you were at the same Coldplay concert as me last year in June, and I find it crazy how you can be standing in the same room/stadium as someone and then suddenly find them online in the same fandom as you. Coldplay have some dinbo songs too!
It's always a pleasure to read your posts and interact with you, and I'm very happy I found this corner of the internet. I hope you have a great evening and an amazing rest of your week! 🫶
AWWW this genuinely made me smile so much! I've barely had a chance to check tumblr properly until just now (been busy by my standards ahaha), but my heart did a little jump for joy when I saw you'd left this in my inbox and I had a massive smile on my face while reading it!
I'm glad you like Din and his tiny froggy friend heheh. I keep thinking I should change my theme up a little bit but I'm too emotionally attached to it now. Plus he suits pink so much!
I'm so glad to hear that you enjoy my writing! I honestly have 0 thoughts, head empty about 99% of things lmao but I get random bursts of inspiration sometimes. Especially with the Meiloorun one. It was so silly but also so much fun to write! And I'm so glad that you enjoyed it!
YESSS you also have great music taste! Our stats were so similar, I think The 1975 were up there too👀! I mean who doesn't love Coldplay?! They're so iconic and I'm so glad I got to see them last year. I went to some great concerts last year too and also have some cool ones lined up this year (including Taylor WOO!) but they will take some beating. They put on such a good show! And YESSS the Dinbo songs. I always think of them when I listen to Sparks :')
It is so weird to think we were there singing along to the same songs and then we found each other again online. Very glad our paths crossed like this. Maybe one day they will again. Who knows!!
Anyway, thank you for sending such a sweet message back to me. I was not expecting that at all, but it means the world that you took the time to spread some kindness back to me. You're a gem and I hope you are having a lovely weekend!🥺💖

Skip and Loafer Episode 9 Part 1: Drowsy (and Peppy)
Tumblr media
Forget being a good episode or even a great one, this episode of Skip and Loafer was two great episodes in one. Divided into an A and B part that flow into one another seamlessly, but each address their own separate pieces, it's more than a treat to watch, it's an incredible example of storytelling within the frame of high school life.
⚠️Notice: This episode has been split into 2 posts because of length and image limits. This is the A Part post - Drowsy (and Peppy). The B Part post, subtitled (Drowsy and) Peppy, can be found on my blog if you haven't come across it yet.⚠️
Where do I even begin? The first half is dedicated to Mitsumi's longing for home and the comfort she feels in returning from Tokyo, but the second half examines how Mitsumi's changed since she originally came from her hometown, and how the people around her have changed and grown as well, while Shima remains under lock and key. It's just an incredible approach to the story that almost inserts a prologue with Mitsumi's return home so that it can prep viewers for the latter half of the content. It's tight, it picks all the right moments to focus on, and it never loses sight of what it wants to do. In short, it's beautiful.
It's so wonderful that I really don't want to organize my thoughts on it, but at some point or another I really have to get down to it if I want to say anything worthwhile, but I'll let Shima speak the first words.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He said the thing! He said the starting lines to the opening song, and I think that's so incredibly cute. Whether or not the pair really realize what they feel for each other is inconsequential, because their words and actions speak so incredibly loud it's wonderful. Also also, Mitsumi's dress in the opening? It's a simplified version of the dress she wears in today's cold open.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Side note, in the actual JP dialogue he says 'zutto mabukushite', it's just that in translating it to English they add a subject to his sentence. Because of that, it's far closer to the lyrics for the OP, which just use 'mabukushite'. So yeah, incredibly cute call back(s) that has me super giddy about it.
Anyways, back to the topic at hand, starting from the beginning. This episode adds (or really removes) a very unique piece to it: the soundtrack. It's substituted for really incredible sound design that does its best to capture the environment as candidly and as detailed as possible, and because of that the soundtrack doesn't exist. The first music you hear in the episode comes from the opening song, as we follow a cold open of Mitsumi making her way back home. Hell, we don't even hear Mitsumi talk in this sequence. Such a bold approach but it pays off in droves.
Which I love by the way, it sets the tone for the first half incredibly well in speaking to the themes of "memories" and nostalgia. We're not shown the whole ordeal in detail, but rather in bits and pieces that are pasted together one after the other, like a collage being plucked from Mitsumi's mind. Also, it sets up a really cool callback/comparison later in the episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's quite the adventurous approach, but I absolutely adore how it speaks to Mitsumi's character. How reserved and quiet she is by herself, and that that energy she has comes from the people that are around her. Also, I really like this little piece showing the "flight" starting and stopping via the seatbelt signs. Another really benign piece of direction but it adds a palpable sense of creativity and passivity in Mitsumi's journey back home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
God I could go on forever about this. About how the view of the cityscape transitions into looking out over the clouds as Mitsumi's mind wanders through the experience, before switching once more into the lush and green terrain beneath her as she heads to her hometown. Or about how of all the scenes/sequences in this cold open, the longest one is Mitsumi staring out excitedly at the scenery when she lands back near her hometown. It's telling a story through Mitsumi's memories and I'm so completely in love with it. What I love most about this last bit though is that we don't see the scenery through Mitsumi's eyes for it. We see her reaction to it, but we're missing the first person perspective that the cold open flirts with through scenes like her flight.
Tumblr media
After the opening however, Skip and Loafer gets back to its core as it resets the vibe with a fun little joke from Mitsumi. Also, it's the first scene to make use of the OST, and it's for comedy's sake. I'll get it out the way now, but mild spoiler, the comedy is the only place the OST is really used this episode. There's bits and pieces through the A part, but the vast majority is only supplemented by stellar sound design.
Tumblr media
Also, you would have guessed it from earlier in the episode, but space and scale are really played up through this A part, and I do quite enjoy it. It takes simple and almost filler scenes and creates something more unique and stylized to better fit the episode. Also, faceless characters appear quite frequently through this A part which I found interesting.
Tumblr media
Similarly, I love how P.A Works and Deai have been using obstructions and depth in their environments. It's a really simple piece, but like I've said before, it adds awareness to the world that exists outside of frame and focus for viewers. It gives you context clues like, "hey, the camera's in a hallway right now isn't it? I guess they're in a room off the main entry", and things like that, and does it while providing really appealing pieces that can help narrow your focus in the scene.
Tumblr media
They use a similar approach in the environments as well. They provide something that's lived in, that characters exist and thrive in outside of what they're presented as or used for. Just take a look at these two images. The first is a super simple pieces for sure, but the use of a small stool/seat on wheels really speaks to the grandmother's involvement in the garden. Similarly, the watering can helps with that as well, plus the flowers in the background.
Now the second image is the piece that I really love because its a totally unnecessary piece, but I appreciate it an incredible amount. The tree's been trimmed! You can see where limbs have been cut off and new growth is beginning on the tree. What a completely benign piece to the art, but such a creative and impactful addition nonetheless. Absolutely love the detail and effort placed in this sort of stuff.
And lastly, I love how they render shadows and light in this scene, breaking up the light through the leaves of the tree just creates such a satisfying pattern and texture to the environment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moving forward once more, I really do like the use of montages/slideshows in this episode through that theme of memories. It's able to present so many pieces and stories that we wouldn't get to see otherwise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay okay, speeding things up, Mitsumi and Fumi. I love how cute and wholesome their friendship is, and I love how they use that first person perspective again to drive home the incredibly strong emotional bond that the pair share.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay I said to speed things up but I can't, I love seeing the nervous emotions creep across Fumi's face before she tells Mitsumi about her boyfriend. It's so incredibly cute and well done.
Tumblr media
Also, P.A Work's favorite thing, shadows and reflections! Love the detail in the water as the pair cross over the bridge.
Tumblr media
Okay okay okay, the last piece I promise, I just absolutely love this scene and what it personifies.
So what is it, really? It's Mitsumi's nostalgia. Being at home, eating watermelon while her mom does the dishes and the cicadas chirp outside. That feeling of comfort as the wind blows gently, coaxing the slightest sounds out of the wind chimes. Remembering all of those places you've been, and that you want to visit again. Mitsumi eating that watermelon, seeing her mother, hearing those sounds, they brought back all those memories of the past for her. It's so, so incredibly beautiful and speaks so loud to the feelings of home. That no matter how far away you may travel, it's still there waiting for you.
Also, callback time! I had said it earlier and this is what it's for. It's a pretty cut and dry comparison of Mitsumi's life in Tokyo vs her hometown, really. Though you might be able to stretch it and talk about the differences in colors, as Tokyo's blue while her hometown is so bright and colorful by comparison. But at the end of the day, it just speaks to the two experiences Mitsumi has between her homes. How in Tokyo she has to get up bright and early to make the train to get to the airport in time, while in her hometown she's able to wake up nice and late and laze around eating watermelon. The city versus the country bumpkin, and I think it's a really sweet little touch to the episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the end of it all, this was an incredible stretch of episode content. Start to finish, just so well polished and approached that I could gawk at the whole part for days and still find more and more pieces to pick out and even more words to describe it with. But, you don't need all that to really get the emotion across. This first half is Mitsumi's memories, her fondness of returning home after a long time away, of melting back into the comfort of her family and hometown friends, and the nostalgia that comes with retracing the steps of her youth. Just beautiful stuff.
Now unfortunately, I've hit my image limit for a single post, so I will be following up with a B part for those interested in the latter half of the episode where Mitsumi returns to school in Tokyo.
If you're looking for the second part, here's a link to it for you!

it's so cool how producers have their own 'handwriting' in music.
meiyo has his signature "aa-ah" (which i LOVE so so much). sheeno mirin has their fast lyrics and those little synth pops in each song. pinocchio-p is his own genre of music. slave.v.-v-v-r's story concepts are literally so creative, and their music videos are all unique in their own way. giga-p is so unpredictable, but whenever a vocaloid song plays, you know his handprint is there in the instrumentals, the tuning- hiiragikirai has that little handprint in his songs too. i will forever associate V4flower with him, whether its his song or not, because of how much he changed my view on storytelling through music, and how he introduced my favorite vocaloid to me. wooma is not a producer, but their art is so recognizable in the vocaloid community that someone just knows it's them by looking at the thumbnail. they've left their handprint in their own way.
just something i noticed by listening to my favorite producers. they're all so unique, and to think they use the same software (in one way or another)??? i know it's by years and years of music and training and hard work and thousands of scrapped projects that they developed their own little signature, and it inspires me. it both inspires me and makes me appreciate them.
i might be overthinking. i tend to do it a lot.
maybe, i'll be able to leave my fingerprint on my works one day so that someone goes, "oh, that's her!" without looking at who wrote or drew it.

I think Jungkook is immature. This is the problem. He act like a teenager
He is acting like a teenager who has recently learned how to curse. He's acting like a rookie who had suddenly got fame and let it get to his head.
That's it. That's what he's doing.
I saw someone say that jimin is the one who set standards and he's unique.
And I can't agree more. Jimin always does his own thing. He is always his unique self in his concepts and creativity. He is the one who sets standards and others follow him.
While jungkook actually lacks depth as an artist AND as a person. He really doesn't have a personality of his own. There's nothing unique about him. He just sees a bunch of artists and sees some of their traits and copies it thinking it will make him look cool.
So what exactly is Jungkook so arrogant about? Like if he really achieved all this on his own talent and hardwork then maybe his arrogance would've been tolerated. But right now what exactly is he arrogant about?
And you're right he's acting like a teenager. Like just listening to him talk shows how he hasn't found himself yet and how he doesn't have his own personality. In his lives he tries so hard to act cool and just comes off as immature. In his interview he's straight up arrogant like he thinks he's a big deal now.
Like dude chill. If he would've been a little bit humble at least his song's fraud achievements would've been tolerable.
He seems okay and then suddenly he opens his mouth and everything goes to shit. Lol.

Getting the Band Together director's cut please
Yeahhhhhh! Band AU! Band AU!
This was an exchange fic where I combined two prompts, both a song ("No Other Heart") and the concept of a band meet-cute. I haven't done much in the way of writing Band-centric stories, so I wasn't 100% sure what a meet-cute scenario would mean, but I gave it my best shot.
While I don't know a lot about bands or how they work behind the scenes, I took a stab at it, basing most of that stuff off of television an movie tropes, as well as what I observed in my wizard rock days, when I very occasionally helped volunteer to help with shows (because what else are you supposed to do if you own a moon bounce in a college town). It was a sweet taste of nostalgia for me, getting to revisit some of those memories.
I *also* got to give a little nod to one of my favorite art forms, the zine/band poster. I have a deep love of the texture of photocopies, so I had a lot of fun designing the (totally unnecessary) banner for the story, and playing around with the image until it had that indie rock show poster look. It might actually be my favorite part of fic. XD
Even though this story takes place during the gang's college years, it also let me brush up against their high school experiences, with Foggy talking a lot about how he perceived things back then, and how much things felt like they had changed for the others while he had remained largely the same. Maybe that's why he's so determined to seek out his own path in the end, it was his opportunity for a metamorphosis.
I really enjoyed getting to bring Marci and Brett into things, especially as more meaty side characters who are help driving the events of the story rather than just being convenient exes etc, Marci especially. While I think she's probably a very capable attorney, I think she's also got a streak of perfectionism, she's someone who would seek excellence in any whatever field she chose, and if she was artistically inclined, she wouldn't settle for anything less than "making it". But I think her self assurance also comes with a price- in this case, being oblivious to the feelings of her bandmates, and never really talking things out with them.
And of COURSE it's a Christmas story- or at least Christmas makes an appearance. Is it even a thelonebamf joint if people aren't drinking hot chocolate and running around in the cold? But I needed to get Foggy into a church and if the Nelsons ever make a go at observing any kind of religion, I imagine they're Easter-Christmas Catholics, or at least some of them are- but they are more importantly family oriented, so if Grandma wants to go to mass, they're going to mass.
AND PIANO MATT. Defenders was mediocre but it gave us Matt playing the piano and I just think that's neat. More people should find a way to include this in their story. As whatever as Defenders was, I think it was a cool way to give us some information about Matt's character besides exposition, and a unique way of uncovering a clue. LET MATT PLAY THE PIANO.
Anyways- those are some of my feelings on that fic. I ended up liking it quite a bit, I don't think there's much I'd change about it, or anything I wasn't able to fit in. It's probably not a story I would have written for myself, which is why I enjoy participating in exchanges- they force you to get creative!

I know I just sent you an ask about despe/hiromu, but if you're still taking requests can I get your thoughts on douki too? I too adore this little gremlin man, and I adore the way you write about wrestling.
I have been beating my head against the wall for DAYS, trying to figure out how to answer this ask. I got so stressed out over my own inequality to the task that I had an unsatisfactory dream about meeting Douki (in full ring gear) on public transportation, where we had a painfully awkward and brief social encounter. None of this is your fault, nonny. I appreciate being made to think. Douki is just fucking confusing, I have lots of feelings about him, he's my Favorite of Favorites, and I genuinely just don't know what to write or where to start. I'm going to give it a solid try, though. Please forgive my tardiness, and enjoy these three songs that inevitably give me Douki feels.
----------------------------------- Sometimes in life, there is no sensible avenue to your destination. Sometimes, the most reasonable route between point A and point B is a freefall. Although I am no longer practicing, I spent my entire childhood and youth in an environment that prioritised, over and above everything else, religious faith and the mystical experience thereof. I am also in possession of a brain with both bipolar and adhd. These facts combine to form a person deeply prone to perceiving meaning, intention, and importance in places where others do not -- and, sometimes, to acting impulsively on these perceptions. Is it any surprise that such a person would find resonance in a character like Douki? Douki, who attests that everything has meaning? Douki, who responded to rejection by hauling ass to a different continent, with no prospects, no money, and no ability to speak the local language. Douki, who returned to Japan with the intention of kicking Jun Kasai's ass -- by showing up to a deathmatch entirely unarmed, even his teeth covered by his mask. Douki, with the anger of a martyr and the patience of a thief. Until suddenly... that's not quite right at all. Douki, whose greatest wrestling strength is -- not his unique and experimental moveset, not his stylised presentation, not even his commitment, but -- his absolute gameness. His readiness to, at the drop of a hat (even, I have my suspicions from watching him closely, when he is working injured -- though I wish he had both the ability and willingness to not fucking do that; this Moose's heart can't take that shit), to 'yes-and' the hell out of whatever he is given.
Oh? You beefed it on your finisher? You're gonna do something batshit off the top rope to distract everyone? Sure, I'll catch you with my smaller, wobbling, clearly injured body which is currently incapable of performing even my most familiar moves with any amount of grace. We'll make it look cool as hell! Nobody will even notice that you botched the most important move of the match -- and if they do, now they can't say a fucking word about it without sounding like an asshole. Oh? My old training buddy from Mexico just returned from his second major injury in three years? He needs to look badass to prove he's recovered and like his old self for now so that people question it less when he gradually changes his style to something that will keep him in the business longer? Bet. We know each other in the ring like butter knows toast. We can both bring it. ... 'Barricade'? What's that? And so on. Every damn time. If you give him something to work with, he will spin it into gold. This has the unfortunate downside of making his matches a little hit-or-miss; if his chemistry with his opponent or partner is bad or if they give him little to work with, he frequently fails to deliver -- creativity and impulsivity are traits of his, but pure initiative in the ring is something he seems to struggle with, at times (though I note he's getting better, and some of this deficit is apparent only, and due to questionable booking). (Jesus, that sentence got away from me.) Of course Douki appeals to me. He has an unassailable faith. Perhaps it's Minoru Suzuki's 'faith in the future' he once ascribed to the man who would become El Desperado -- perhaps something more enigmatic. I have a hard time sussing out exactly what is going on in Douki's head at any given moment, and he often does things that surprise me, in a way that someone like Despe usually does not. (Example: 07/01/2023 in CMLL when Douki let his teammate Zandokan Jr. shake him around by the skull, and his response appeared to be utter delight. What even was that? I think Zando's the best thing since sliced bread, and even I'd probably be pretty damn unsettled if he grabbed me from behind by the cranium and started shaking. And afaik, that was their first time working together. Fucking weird vibes that whole match.) (I need more of that shit, actually.) Douki's a hard read for me in general, so I'm not confident in my assessment, on this one. But it feels like he has faith in the process. Probably not in the future, maybe not in himself, and certainly not in the system. He has faith in the process of life, in the journey, in the getting-there. And that's why there's no one better at throwing himself into a freefall when necessary than Douki. He knows how to build his wings on the way down, and he's done it a thousand times before. (Tbh, I think Hiromu learned more than just the physics of the Douki Bomb from him. I think he might have gleaned enough of the philosophy to greatly ease his path.)
