Love this photo my partner snapped from afar during jousting games practice today - we were playing with catching rings on a stick, since last year the motion and ribbons were a little too scary for her. She was perfect now, of course

convalescence

it was an assassination attempt that brought lakshmana and simhan together — lakshmana was poisoned and nearly killed, and to keep it from happening ever again, the kingdom searched for its greatest warrior to serve as his bodyguard. this ended up being simhananda, a boy from a small, distant village, in which boys are raised to be ferocious defenders of their home. (his name means “lion’s roar”, an ironic epithet granted by his friends, since simhan was characteristically quiet and stoic.)

no one could’ve foretold how quickly simhan and lakshmana would depend on one another’s company — simhan became more of an attendant than a bodyguard, following the (then-)princess to meals and lessons, aiding him through convalescence, until they were practically inseparable. (simhan was the first one to know when lakshmana wanted to take a new name, and he was the one watching as the prince quietly transitioned behind the palace walls).

so it was for years, protected from the happenings outside in the kingdom. they unquestionably loved each other, and they might have been in love. so it was, until home came calling like a war trumpet for simhan once more.

tidbids; Twilight had some leftover heritage batpony genes, which became present after becoming an alicorn, she also got a lot taller (before she was about dash's height), rainbow power and holding the princess' magic gave her the yellow streaks and glowy ends Rarity is part crystal pony, so she has a crystal horn- allowing for very precise magic. Fluttershy has lingering traits of her time as a vampire bat AJ has several scars from working on the farm Rainbow has some stunt-injuries, and one lightning-strike scar. Her rainbow colours are super rare, so she likes to show them off. Pinkie is a miniature pony, dinky little thing. 90% of her jewellery is edible.
