hi, to the anon with your lovely question, I want to remind you that the characters in my game are all minors and even though Gloria is the only 18 year old, I still view her as a kid in the circumstances of my game. so keep that in mind 💛

Percy when mildly angry

Friendly reminder that Percy jackson - our beloved silly adorable seaweed brain - is absolutely terrifying. When he’s angry, when he’s scared, when he’s on edge - he’s not warm and fuzzy.

No other character gets that reaction from people. Jason (the sweetie) is perceived as calm and in control, nico (our favorite self-outcasted outcast) is perceived as solemn and creepy, reyna (girlboss queen slay) is perceived as confident and assertive, and annabeth (our girl) is perceived as fierce, clever, and formidable. They are all intimidating to an extent.

But not like Percy. No. Becasue even when he’s at ease, he’s described as wild and disobedient. And when he’s not at ease, even if just little bit, he’s perceived as powerful, dangerous, and scary. Someone who NOBODY wants to mess with. Nobody even questions his power. One look from him has literal gangs running the other way. One look from him has Leo so scared that he’s literally shaking, and feeling the same innate fright and alarm that he does when jason summons an ear-piercing, earth-shaking, deadly bolt of lighting.

like… HELLO??? can we all just sit on that for a moment?? good lord

One angry look from percy has people thinking one thing: Run.

Percy is, canonically, the character that people find the most frightening and intimidating.

And unless he’s in a good mood - which you better hope he is - the reality is that most of us would be completely terrified of him if we met him.

The best fics are the ones that recognize that although Luke Skywalker may APPEAR on the outside to be a normal friendly twink who happens to have cool powers, especially when contrasted with such ship partners as Boba or Din or even Han, he is arguably the scariest person alive in the galaxy around the prequel era. AND, crucially, he is also a fundamentally weird guy. This man was homeschooled on a rural farm his entire life and then apprenticed to a swamp gremlin who showed him how to tap into the cosmic power of the universe. He blew up the death star age 19, killing approx 2 million-ish Imperials. He is a vortex of Force power that can communicate with the ghosts of dead Jedi. He’s staring into the distance and mumbling to himself and doing Yoda aphorisms and casually pulling out the “yeah I could crush that guy into a paste with my mind (:” and nobody around him knows what to do with that. I think he is a character who has very little frame of reference for how a Jedi or a person in general is supposed to act and there is some thing about him that is by necessity really fucking weird and a little scary but he’s so nice that it can throw you off the scent a little bit. I like how rdr2 can unintentionally be a game that’s catered towards women even if it wasn’t meant to be.

You get to look at a hot cowboy for hundreds of hours. You dress him, feed him, bathe him, you can craft cute hat decorations for him. Oh and he also has a pet horse he loves which you take care of. As a character Arthur is very emotionally aware and he’s open to talk about his feelings. He judges people by their actions not prejudices. He doesn’t disrespect people for their problems/interests/background even if he might not understand them. He respects women, animals, nature.. He is gentle with horses, kids, flowers 🌷

He’s an artist, keeps a journal and he can also write in a poetic way. These may not inherently be female qualities but nowadays are usually associated with women. Arthur also has qualities, which are generally attractive to women. He’s a protector, he’s strong, has a deep voice..

I find it funny that someone would think that this game is something that couldn’t truly be enjoyed by women.

It is my perfect escape ✧˖°.

Thinking about how Leo says he uses his jokes to cope and y’know, thinking harder on it I think it may very well be because of what else uses one-liners and puns and that type of humor.

Specifically, 80’s action movies and campy sci-fi. Even more specifically, the protagonists of these.

So I can imagine why, exactly, Leo leans toward this brand of humor. It’s directly linked to things he loves! But even more than that is why I think it’s used as a coping mechanism.

In these genres, these quips tend to be said by the winner - or, if not a winner, then someone who will stay alive. So there’s a confidence behind them, an assurance, almost, that even if things go wrong, things aren’t ever too serious. There’s no bad endings here! It’s all good fun, even if the stakes seem high.

Leo canonically has been known to steer his brothers away from the more brutal villains and toward more fun, lighthearted activities and not-so-dangerous criminals. So for Leo, these jokes definitely make things less heavy, make the situations they find themselves in less intense.

It’s kinda not just coping, but also can be seen as a form of escapism. A safety blanket. A way for Leo to defuse the tension of knowing just how dangerous their lives are and replace that with a levity which implies that things will be okay.

Unfortunately, levity alone does not alter reality.

It’s never overstated to me when people are like “work out bc it makes you feel better” bc it literally does. I think what I used to get hung up on is making the perfect schedule / wanting to know what I was doing right away. But it’s also okay to flounder at first and experiment w things and figure out what works for you and your body. The important thing is you’re starting out bc your body really will thank you for it later down the line. You cannot keep pushing it off it will add up

#“Work out not bc you hate your body but bc u love it” is the truest statement ever #I also don’t think a gym membership is needed bc I know straight up athletes who only ever do bodyweight workouts #It helps me so that’s why I have one but it’s by no means necessary #I still do at home workouts at times bc I think they’re rly fun and a nice switch up #And just playing around and finding out what works for me but what also challenges me #I don’t think I perfected it yet but I’m doing lots of research & experimenting w things & I also just love the endorphins it gives me #My friend and I are ab to start regularly biking through nature trails & I think that will be so therapeutic for me bc I usually just #Work out at the gym/at home. It’ll be a nice little addition #And buying cute workout two pieces actually motivates me to work out too they make me feel like a Pinterest girl fr
