its a bit hard to say what type of car exactly suits Checo from a viewer standpoint (my engineering knowledge can only do so much with info we have), but I remember the difference between him and Max was something similar to that of Charles and Carlos recently
the general difference between RB18 at start of '22 and later RB18/RB19 iterations is that it had more understeery balance as opposed to oversteery balance (which many drivers, esp Max and Charles). RB19 is also more pointy (meaning it favours drivers with aggressive turn in and late braking driving style) and has more room for better performance extraction as it is quicker through and out of corner. this is assuming the car is not an absolute oversteering monster where the rear gets out under you uncontrollably which has been a slight issue at some gps this year
the thing is, many MANY drivers struggle with this kind of car characteristics (I havent followed McLarens development that closely so idk if they changed this, but last years car was the complete opposite in many things to that of RBRs hence why Ricciardo struggled as much as he did while Norris thrived in it). it can be mitigated with proper setup but it will never fully make up for it, a couple of tenths at best
it is incredibly hard (if not even impossible) for a driver to unlearn their driving style and adapt to a new one (which is something Ive seen and heard a lot of). if McLaren havent completely changed the concept and characteristics of the car, this would also explain why Piastri is doing so much better than Ricciardo in McLaren
Piastri as a rookie came in with from F2 where you dont really have any strong preferences yet that could be hard to unlearn (aka feeder series driving style where adaptivity is crucial and can make or break your career) and it was a lot easier for him to grasp the concepts of MCL60 and learn how to play into the strengths of it. with an older driver like Ricciardo that would be like asking a leopard to change its spots
this is a lot of rambling and Im sorry if its not completely coherent, but I had to share this because I have been seeing a lot of people throwing conspiracy theories around that show clear lack of knowledge and understanding of how this sport actually works (which is fine but reading up a bit wouldnt hurt anyone). there are tons of great analyses regarding this, both heavily technical and less technical, if you are interested in looking into this a bit more
[context]
god this is such a lovely read !!
this also made me think that it's very logical for drivers to not just switch teams, since there's a bigger risk than the potential of getting more attention.
like with daniel, the renault was a bad car but he so badly wanted to be first driver which he couldn't be alongside max. now, that he's older and learned that, he might dare to hop back in beside max again (both bc he's at peace with his decision but also bc we've seen some stellar driving from him in that AT which is due to him having a driver style that matches better with the AT than nyck or even yuki have).
and so long oscar stays with mclaren, he should be good! since apparently he's been able to adjust his style really nicely to the mcl60 and he can just keep on growing in that!

Hello 👋🏻👋🏻 I saw your post about being just busy and that's alright. Good to know that you are doing well, I'm doing well too. I just had a birthday (last thursday --17th-- if curious) and had a great time :) :) Well, good luck catching up with ML. And yeah, indeed those episodes are good. I won't say anything because I know you are following that and I don't like to spoil anything, good for you to block most of ML until you catch up. Aaaaaaaaaah, that what you mean with "engine search". Haven't try that trick with google yet, I may do it later on. Thanks for the tip. :) :) Haha XD XD I can only image how not terrible successful one can be. But to be fair, I think that anyone with a good general explanation of 'x show' could get you an idea to help you out specially if they do have some knowledge as well. And well, that made me feel better, so thanks. But seriously, I sometimes think that me noticing stuff is '0 to the left'... and I don't think that's a English phrase at all. ^^; ^^; (It makes more sense in Spanish). In simple, I got nothing when it comes to changes... at least if someone point out the obvious, I'd probably don't know at all. But also I do believe that improvement would be really noticiable after years, at least for me. And that without counting that everyone does improved bit by bit or a lot in once, all depends on the person. And those who does improve "all in once" are probably once every millions or they are actually back after very very long time. Oh god, no, rewriting something sounds as painful as it could be. I once had the idea of rewriting a very old fic, but never happened, never is going to happen, sorry not sorry. And also, so what if that doesn't match canon as much as they want? Don't people know about the fiction part of all this? I mean, most of the fanfiction writting there is already based on a fiction story, you know. So if we do it extra fiction, what's the problem? I know, and I can get some of those who comment like that, but they should also noticed when was created, I mean if the story was original created before that act, then why bother, you know? So, yeah, I get your point of just leaving those stories because some comments like that. If they want a story like that, they could try doing it themselves. I want to see their faces when they try and fail 😈😈(I'm being way too immature right now XD XD). Because if they do and do it right, then good for them 👍🏻👍🏻 (I would probably also read that too 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️). Ohhhhhhhh, no yet. I just re read it, find my old notes that didn't have the ending or anything else after chapter 1, "cry" about it and then kind of force myself into writting down all ideas that came after re reading and check what I had. Then I realised that I may have a way to finish that as finally doing it. I kind of have the line out of the last chapter to say. And my real life friend who introduce me into fandom and all the therms and read that, said the same :) :) So, yes, I got the hope that it would get some attention back, I supposed and well, someone would read and be happy that I'm giving it an ending. That's what I'm up to in relation to that.
Ahhhhh, yeah that could explain that. I mean it could be also the fact that there are shows that don't get translate and so on don't got international, you know? (I lived 20 years in an Spanish speakers only country, so that's that too). And yes, of course, I got you; if a show isn't popular, doesn't help either and probably got cancel alone the line as everything else that doesn't reach what they expected.
Oh my... yeah, those crossover sounds crazy XD XD. But I mean, at least you are like hey, this could work here, you know? you aren't try to force it just for the sake of it. (Also the Blink episode is amazing, any episode with weeping angels are good in my opinion. Also Donna thinking that the Doctor is crazy is true and not a new either is Martha wishing him being direct for once).
Oh, I must lost a screw long long ago when deciding that I wanted to write in both languages. To be fair enough, it's mostly because, fic readers are more liking to read something in English than their own language, that and I guess depends where you publish those, I guess. (Also, Thank you 🥺🥺🥰🥰). Oh goodness me, YES, that's right. I won't mind a crack fic once in a while, long while if I'm in the mood but seriously, sometimes those are just plain ridiculous, completely ridiculous. And those aren't worth my time if I'm honest. Of course, everything depends on the person and what they like. Mmmm... yeah, that's fair enough. No, I'm not that into crossovers, but you are right, if those are good written then those are worth a try to read. That's how and why I had read some crossovers in the past. The crossover in my opinion has to have a good based for it, it shouldn't just be a mix of everything just for the sake of it, that's not fun to read, you know? Sorry that I went with the very long question again. Don't apologise for rambling because I can get all over the place giving the opportunity. Sorry again for that... Anyway, take care, until next time (I'm starting to wish not being this shy and just reply with my user...)
-Le Fantôme anon
(re: this ask)
Happy belated birthday, Anon! I hope it was a wonderful one.
I have yet to watch the first half of the finale but watched the other two episodes I had missed, one of which I hadn't even realized had aired. Still probably gonna watch that finale sooner rather than later, though. I've quite enjoyed what I've seen so far.
I will admit I said 'search engine' solely because that's the generic term and I know some people have their preferences of which one to use, so the confusion is entirely my fault. Sorry! A couple other useful ones for google--in case you don't already know them--are quotes around an exact phrase (eg, "miraculous ladybug") and the dash for anything you want to exclude, (eg, "miraculous ladybug" -salt), like with AO3 searches if you do any reading on there. I will admit I am still far better with excel tricks than I am with google.
Very true! It's still fun to share, though. *grins*
I don't know an equivalent phrase off the top of my head, but I get the gist of it! And you're right; it's different for different people, and changing at a different pace just means you were at a different stage to begin with.
I doubt they looked at when I'd written that fic, but, yeah, once I have a story posted, I don't really want to do much to it beyond editing typos. I will admit it probably wouldn't take too much to update Masks, at least if I left in the things I guessed wrong that were major plot points and only changed the minor ones, but I severely lack the motivation to do that when I can be doing other stuff. (The rate at which I'm crossposting fics to AO3 from FFN is proof of that, since the editing takes time and it's hard to find the motivation to edit a fic almost no one is reading when I could be writing a new one. Ah, well, I'll get there eventually. Might even get to my first DP fic at some point.) But, yes, if someone wants to see something specific, I always try to encourage them to write it.... Usually I'm not terribly successful, though.
Exactly! No one's going to spend the time (money) translating (dubbing or subbing) a show unless they're confident they'll have the viewers.
Oh, yes, for sure, I always look for commonalities. That's where I start with crossovers. Some take more interpretation than others, and some are just handed to you on a silver platter.
You're not the only one I know to do it! I still think you're all terribly impressive, though.
I know exactly what you mean with crossovers, and the brilliant ones out there that people get just right are *chef's kiss*.
No worries about the ask length! And no judgement from me, Anon, when it comes to staying on anon vs replying with your username. If you ever decide to reveal yourself (however much time has passed because that doesn't really register with me), that's great! If not, that's fine! Go with whatever makes you comfortable.

More Robotropolis Notes
Predictably I decided to take another crack at a ‘Free-For-All’ Sonic setting. Even more predictably, I focused on Robotnik crap.
Enjoy some rambling, incoherent worldbuilding that’ll never go anywhere, folks!
V.E.G’s
Justice in Robotropolis begins and ends with the VEG’s- the Vassalization Engineering Gulags. The VEGs are the prison-fortresses of Robotropolis- massive installations where prisoners of war and criminals are sent to in order to be processed and either subjected to Roboticization or a slow, lingering death as a bio-battery. VEGs are enormous, multilayered complexes bristling with external weaponry and housing near endless numbers of robotic troops, and are dispersed all over the territories of Robotropolis. VEGs are strategically placed across the internal borders of Robotropolis, with a single VEG taking processing the prisoners of several surrounding territories and often acting as a nexus point between Zones.  The reason for this is due to Robotnik’s paranoia about the potential capture and reverse engineering of Roboticization technology- as such there are relatively few VEGs in proportion to Robotropolis’ organic population and geographic size, but each one is responsible for the Roboticization of thousands each year.
While Roboticization is the primary fate of anyone unfortunate enough to be shipped off to the VEG, there is another, arguably even more horrific fate- namely that of being converted into a bio-battery powering the very machinery that enslaves Mobius’ peoples. A refinement of the technologies designed for Badniks, to become a Bio-Battery is to be slowly killed over a course of many months or even two years, depending on the health of the subject. Subjects are placed within the life draining ‘pods’ of the batteries, wherein they are gradually drained of their life force until nothing remains but a decayed husk. The pod clusters are located in reinforced sub-basements, and due to their resemblance to grapes on a vine, some individuals with knowledge of their existence have morbidly compared them to vineyards.
Tumblr media
Some VEGs, besides serving as Roboticization and Bio-Battery processing plants, also fulfill a secondary role of carrying out scientific research and development. One such ‘Science’ VEG is located within Robotropolis-occupied Trailius, where it serves as the HQ for the local Legion chapter and is administrated by Legion Prefect Maw the Thylacine. It is the only VEG to be entrusted to one of Robotnik’s organic agents, as the rest are exclusively staffed by robots.
VEGs are not individually named, but are instead referred to by number, in order of construction- VEG-1, VEG-2, etc. The largest and most infamous of the VEG’s is the prototype facility first created by Robotnik, and designated as VEG-0.
Tumblr media
VEG-0 was created by converting a massive volcano springing from the ocean, using its magma core as a thermal power plant for the entire facility. VEG-0 upon completion was set to immediate work, and by the present has been responsible for Roboticizing millions. It serves as the face of Roboticization, even as the task of creating Robian slaves was delegated to other VEGs. The subsequent VEG models were created smaller than the original and incorporated Bio-Battery technology to make them independent from Robotropolis’ main power grid, but even so, VEG-0 remains an ominous and terrible symbol of Robotropolis’ might in the eyes of its citizens and the world itself.
Prisoners at VEGs are not kept in cells, but rather in suspended animation within special capsules before being unloaded for Roboticization or Bio-Battery integration.
Tumblr media
These capsules are essentially miniaturized, self-contained Bio-Batteries unto themselves, using the life force of the individuals imprisoned in order to be powered. While nowhere near as lethal as the Bio-Batteries proper, the capsules none the less are painful to be trapped in… which suits Robotnik just fine.
The Robotropolis Legion
The Robotropolis Legion (disparaged by many as ‘The Dark Legion’) wears many hats- it is at once the civilian government, law enforcement, and civil defense corp of Robotropolis, at least on paper. The easiest way to advance in Robotropolis’ society without being a scientist is to join the Legion, and the Legion eagerly takes all comers- collaborators seeking to be spared Roboticization, lunatics eager for someone heart, the destitute and desperate seeking ANYTHING in life… and rarely, even a few true believers of Robotnik’s foul vision join the Legion. All who join the Legion are granted cybernetic enhancements and military grade training before being deployed, either to the streets of Robotropolis’ Habitation Zones or to further Robotnik’s influence overseas. Many have come to know the image of the Legion Trooper- clad in red armor and in face concealing helmets abstractly resembling skulls, the troopers serve as constant reminders of Robotnik’s control over the denizens of Robotropolis and the promise of power to those who would willingly submit to his rule.
The Legion is surprisingly loose in its organization, compared to other military organizations and in contrast to Robotnik’s own demands for absolute order. The Legion is divided up into Chapters based around the location in which they operate, which depending on circumstance can be individual communities or general areas. Each chapter is headed over by a Prefect, who is in turn served by a commander, and oversees the various units of Troopers under their command. Beyond that though, each Chapter is essentially run as the Prefect in charge sees fit. So long as order is kept and Robotnik’s quotas are filled, Robotnik doesn’t care what his subordinates do as long as it doesn’t interfere with the efficiency of his empire.
In the early days of Robotropolis, this wasn’t the case- the Legion’s authority was more centralized, and there existed greater co-operation and synergy between the Legion chapters, with all Legions being under the direct command of The Grand Marshal of the Legion, whom also was an active participant in Robotropolis’ government. The first and only such Grand Marshall was one Conrad Targo, an Overlander general who betrayed his government to serve Robotnik. Targo was instrumental in the Legion’s formation and implementation within Robotropolis’ territories, particularly with Robotropolis main robotic armies occupied elsewhere, allowing the Legion to pick up the policing that would otherwise distract the machine armies from their primary function of conquest. This, in effect, made Targo the head of domestic defense and Robotnik’s effective third in command.
After an accident seemingly killed Robotnik and his second-in-command Snively, Targo briefly assumed control over Robotropolis. During this brief time, Targo instituted a draft for service into the Legion, intending to expand the cybernetic army. His reign however proved brief- sensing the weakness brought on by his transition of power, the Kingdom of Acocrn hoped to take advantage of the brief instability to decapitate Robotropolis’ leadership and thus weaken the foul city enough so that they might reclaim their homeland. A special, covert strike force was assembled and deployed into Robotropolis to assassinate Targo and to cause general mayhem within the Inner Empire in the hopes of causing widespread chaos across Robotropolis. Led by Colonel Tig Stripe, the squadron came close to its goals… only for Robotnik and Snively to re-emerge, unharmed and ready to reassume command of Robotropolis.
The assassins where subsequently destroyed, and a near-dead Targo was kept alive by artificial means. Julian had long been suspicious of Targo’s loyalties and ambitions, as well as his control over the Legion. His ‘death’ had been a ploy from the start to set Targo up so that he could fall, and to make his enemies on the global stage reveal their hands in this supposed moment of weakness for Robotnik’s Empire. In the aftermath of this incident, Robotnik eliminated the position of Grand Marshall and re-structured the Legion to grant each chapter greater independence from the other and more decentralized leadership in order to make them less able to organize against him. Finally, Robotnik roboticized Targo and then further modified him into a new breed of command class robot to oversee his SWATBot armies. Thus was Conrad Targo, Grand Marhsall of Robotropolis, reborn as Supreme Commander Brutus.
Tumblr media
Since that time, the Legion has maintained its role as the effective state police of Robotropolis and the closest thing it has to a ‘civilian’ government. Members are afforded greater freedoms than non-members as well as better access to things like food, water and high end medical technology, for both themselves and their families. Robotnik maintains the relative inefficiency of the Legion because it keeps them divided and thus unable to organize towards overthrowing him, while providing additional targets for local resistance groups as well as a means of recruiting people into his service. Given that the robot armies of Robotropolis vastly outnumbers the so-called ‘Legion’, Robotnik is more than willing to put up the Legion’s presence… for the moment, anyway.
Technically, there are two Legions- the Home Legion, which policies the habitation zones of Robotropolis, and the Away Legion. The Away Legion is effectively a secretive terrorist army for Robotropolis, a series of subversive cells that seek to chip away at nations until they are vulnerable to invasion by Robotnik’s machine armies. The Away Legions are even more individualized than the Home Legions, and this creates a degree of friction between the two branches.
All of which proceeds as intended by Robotnik.
With the absolute loyalty of his robots to pick up the slack, he can afford distractions from his more flawed subordinates. Sooner or later, EVERYTHING will be machinery anyway.

The Kestis family and the Mantis crew eventually decided to join this alliance with the objective of stopping the Empire at all costs. They took up the offer a month after Mari Kosan had personally approached them.
For young Cassidy, it was a big adjustment, having to leave the home she knew back in Zera III and begin to live in a new home. The child had mixed feelings about it, she had sensed the uneasiness of her parents when they prepared for their departure that day.
“I never saw a planet that red before,” she gasped, gawking at Yavin’s main planet that they passed by as they approached the moon’s atmosphere.
When the Mantis had cut through the skies and had full view of the forests that covered the land mass. All of a sudden, little Cassidy didn’t feel a bit homesick anymore.
“It’s… almost like home,” she softly uttered, the treelines reminded her of the wide, green dells of Zera.
Greez prepared the Mantis to land near the open area in front of the sandstone structure. Upon closer look, it would’ve been a temple when it was still in its prime. The entire family was greeted by Mari Kosan, who went out of her way to meet with them as soon as she saw that familiar ship flying into their radar.
The bustle of the temple-turned-base of operations fascinated the young Jedi. Never has she ever seen a different kind of ship besides the Mantis, she had to step back while keeping her head titled up—emphasizing the gargantuan size of the fighter ships.
The new feeling was a two-way road: for the adults working in the base, it was new for them to see a kid running around—understandably so, it was someone’s daughter. As for Cassidy, she wasn’t used to this much people in a single place, she felt small and therefore found more solace with her family.
“This place is so much bigger than our house, Mom!” she exclaimed.
“Well, it is a base after all, darling,”
“Did they build that too?” she points to the pyramid.
“No, it looked like it’s been there way before they even came here,”
Much like her lifestyle in Zera III, Cassidy found herself a spot where she can practice her saber techniques in peace without being in the way of the adults working in the base. It’s no surprise that her spot was another clearing in the forest, little did she know that she was in full view of the scouts in the watchtowers but they didn’t mind her that much, it was also only a few meters away from the base so she can find her way back on her own.
Her parents eventually found her spot, thanks to a watchtower scout, and they continued their training—almost as if nothing happened. Over time, her skills improved and she was able to spar with her parents—something that she has been secretly dreaming even before she had her own saber constructed.
“You’re catching up real quick!” Cal encouraged.
“Well, I’ve been practicing all week, Dad!”
“Don’t get cocky then, Cassy!”
Cassidy’s combat techniques had evolved from sticking to only Form I: Shii-Cho to being a practitioner of Form III: Soresu, occasionally making a medley out of the first four forms if the situation arises. It was a blatant contrast to her father’s combined forms—which were technically powerful, swift, nearly-brutish in terms of movement, and is highly likely to be overwhelming for an unskilled opponent.
You observed that Cassidy was more in the offensive and Cal was being defensive in his stances. He surely didn’t go easy on sparring against his daughter.
“You confuse your confidence with arrogance, keep yourself grounded—literally and figuratively!” Cal lectured as he proceeded to lunge at her, to which she barely dodged by a hair. “Celebrating too early will cloud your judgment. You may think you’re winning—but you’re getting closer to loss.”
From that, Cassidy became more conservative with her attacks, timing for the right window of opportunity to get a jab at Cal, he disarmed her when he made a flurry of combos against her to the point that the grip on her saber had weakened and led her scuttling on the dust. The tip of his lightsaber hovered mere inches away from the front of her face.
“Well, Cassidy?”
This isn’t how Cassidy pictured herself in today’s instruction. While she had her father thinking that she’s submitted to the ground, she mustered her energy in her hands and Force-pushed her father away. It wasn’t a strong push, but enough to stagger him away from her so she can reach for her saber.
Igniting it the second the weapon reunites with her hand, she lunged for an overhead strike to which Cal flimsily deflected while trying to regain her footing.
“Impressive,” he commented as the colors of their blades mixed in the tight space between them. Cassidy pulled away before she could let the weight of her father overcome her in the block. “Most impressive.”
Cal switched his saber off, signaling the end of today’s session. Cassidy made a celebratory spin of her saber before turning it off.
“You’re learning everyday,” you added.
“There are just some parts that I can’t get right,”
“You’ll have plenty of time to work on that, sweetie. Come on, it’s time for lunch, Greez is making your favorite,”
“Alright!!”
Cassidy raced out of the forest, forgetting to wait for her parents and simply dashed towards the Mantis. You and Cal exchange insights on your daughter from today’s session.
“She’s becoming more and more skillful. She really is a born fast learner,”
“To tell you the truth, I didn’t think she’d do a Force-push on me. That was quite creative of her,”
Cal insisted that his daughter had inherited tactfulness and adaptiveness from you.
“Yes well, she got that tinge of recklessness from you,” you rebutted, half-jokingly.
The two of you walked out of the clearing and followed Cassidy to the Mantis. Apparently, she was waiting for you by the entry ramp, when she had caught sight of her parents she disappeared into the ship, probably helping out set the table inside.
“If there’s one thing Cassidy is weak for—it’s fried Nuna legs,” Cal quipped, nothing but a chuckle from you became his reply.
The first few months have been peaceful, yet there was always the looming fear that war will come here and ravage the moon. Your only comfort being you’ll be fighting with good people and in numbers.

0 BBY, IN THE TIMELINE OF “A NEW HOPE”
In the midst of the committee, he was held in high regard, looked upon with great esteem, they turned to him whenever the subject matter felt like his insight was crucial. He was a constant figure among the meeting rooms in the base. They didn’t look down on him due to his second origin of being a scrapper, as a matter of fact, he had the same knowledge as their engineers.
“Master Kestis,” a voice, faceless among the crowd in the meeting room. He had insisted everyone to simply call him by his first name, but out of force of habit, they end up addressing him as Master.
When he knew that it was hopeless for him to correct them, he turned to that voice in the room that addressed him. His glance prompted them to continue.
“Do you think it’s plausible to have a far-range receiver to pick up the Empire’s signal?”
A brief pause allowed him to think. He returned his attention to the holograph where they had gathered.
“Well, the concept is similar to something I’ve designed for our previous home. But to make its range farther—for instance, from the surface to off-planet—we’re gonna have to need a stronger satellite, calibrate it with an open channel frequency, and once we test it, we can figure out how far our dummy ship’s signal can be picked up once it’s out of the moon. The farther, the better—it means that we can pick up the Empire in our radar before they even realize it.”
“It’s an ambitious design, but not impossible,” Gial Ackbar, the Mon Calamari admiral, interjects. “It’s sure to help us buy time when the need to evacuate comes.”
“We’ll see what we can do in the drawing board,” the head engineer added, stroking his grey-white beard as if he’s come up with an idea to add up to Cal’s concept. “I think we can do that on one of the prototype transponders we have to communicate with the pilots from their ships once they’re off the planet.”
“That could work, I’d like to see it some time, if you don’t mind, Head Engineer,”
“My boy, it will be a delight if you stop by!” the old head engineer chuckled, tucking his hands into the pockets of his long, white coat.
The meeting was adjourned after a few more discussions varying between the Empire and the base’s own resources. Everyone else dispersed in the meeting room and Cal was one of the first people to leave the room, trading curt nods at fellow rebels as he passed by the hallways.
Cal wore many hats and served them one by one—sometimes even juggling two at a time. But past the formalities, the conferences, and the ceaseless interaction with the diplomats, he always returns to the one role he has been taking on for eleven years.
“Dad! Watch me train with Mom!” Cassidy comes running up to her dad in the hangar and he catches her in his arms.
“I wouldn’t miss it, sweetie,”
“Then we’ll spar, right?”
“You betcha!”
Father and daughter appear into the forest clearing where you had been waiting for the two of them. Cassidy slipped her hand away from her dad, Cal gently holds you by the cheek and pulls you in for a kiss.
“Darling, you’re back,”
“I missed you,”
“It was only for an hour or two,”
“Yeah well, meetings aren’t really my thing,” the bridge of his nose crumpled, playfully making a grimace as he stretches his arms upward and wraps one of them around your shoulder. “This is a bit more of my thing.”
Bemused, you rolled your eyes and found his hand on your shoulder, “Which one—today’s instruction or me?”
He inched close and grinned, the tips of your noses brushing against one another, “Both.”
His lips pecked yours, but he doesn’t plan to let go of you any moment soon.
Now at eleven years old, Cassidy continued to prove her potential as a Jedi.
The child was lithe and nimble, using them to her advantage whether in combat or traversing the terrain of the obstacle course that her parents had built together. Her strategical skills were put into good use in that training course.
Her liveliness in combat was balanced out in using the Force and meditating, courtesy of you, no less.
“You’re getting better at the fighting,” you initiated, eventually slipping away from Cal’s arm. “But let’s see how you’ll fare without your weapon.”
Using the Force, you spirited away the saber from Cassidy’s small hand. She didn’t have time to react on it and realize that you’re stealing away her saber.
“Oh, don’t think about pulling the same trick as you did with your dad,”
There was stern tone in your voice, just hearing it made Cassidy’s stomach churn. To reassure her that it was going to be a fair fight, you removed your saber from the designated hook on your belt and joined it with Cassidy’s atop a rock’s flat surface.
“There will come a time that you’ll be robbed of your weapon—mostly by your enemies. And when that happens, you’re essentially bare—but don’t let that deter you. The weapon you have next to your saber is yourself. Now then…”
It occurred to her that she had to wield only the Force and engage in hand-to-hand combat against you. You seldom engage in any form of combat with Cassidy—because that was more of Cal’s work—but it was only this one time where she saw you throwing fists and delivering kicks. She’s seen you fight with a lightsaber, but rarely with your bare hands.
Your own daughter was surprised to face her mother—who was barely angry or aggressive, always sweet and doting—not once did Cassidy ever imagine you challenging her. Then again, you were a Jedi, she knew that you would eventually.
She tucked her knees down, placing herself in a stance with her fists in front of her.
“Good form. Now, see if you can attack me,”
Cassidy resumed to being the one who always engages in the offensive first. Springing her heels toward you, she attempted to pull a punch—in the blink of an eye, the whole of your palm stopped the impact on wherever she was planning to hit you.
You pushed her away, deflecting her blow, and she restarted her stance. For every punch she threw, she was denied of landing it; in perfect balance, you bent down level to her waist and your leg literally swept her off of her feet.
“Throwing punches may feel thrilling, but if you’re going to be reckless like that first moment, it’s not going to work,”
“I’ll try again,” she declared, steeling her mental willpower and her demeanor.
Going back to your stance was your reply, you anticipated her attacks. This time, she opted to start with a kick and your forearm shielded you from the tip of her boot. When you swung her foot back to the ground, she hooked her left fist towards your cheek—a bold move, you thought, but it was nothing as you repeated the same deflection as the first time. Cassidy took you by surprise when she flung a kick against your side when you were busy blocking her punch with your arm.
You staggered at the impact, you dented the earth with your boots as you skidded and reset your footing to face her in the other direction. A small smirk curled along your lips—that meant that she’s impressed you with her last-minute tactic—and the fistfight continued.
“Good!” you exerted. “Keep making use of your advantages, Cassidy!”
Cassidy allowed the adrenaline to flow within her, dictate her movements, and be able to analyze the situation faster before you could retaliate. Punches and kicks land between mother and daughter. Flinging and trading fists, making sure that it doesn’t only cut through the wind.
Eventually, your eleven-year-old secured her win on this round when she delivered a kick on your knee and then to your abdomen. When the adrenaline had died down in her system, Cassidy’s clenched teeth loosened and the tension in her shoulders relaxed. She darted towards her mother’s side, assisting you to get back up on your feet.
“Oh… Oh no, Mom! Are you okay?!”
“I’m fine, sweetie,” you grunted, managing a reassuring chuckle and taking her hand, you repeated. “It’s fine.”
“I’m so sorry, I… I don’t know what gotten into me,”
“A little adrenaline couldn’t hurt, Cassy,” you tussled her hair. You exhaled away the aches that her hits have delivered.
The arrival of a Corellian freighter called your attention, catching a glimpse of it on the trees’ canopy. The intrigued youngling darted out of the clearing to find it landing right in front of the base, opposite of where the Mantis idled.
“Wow, that’s a big piece of junk,”
“Now Cassidy, be nice,” Cal lightly scolded.
“Oh come on, Dad, you think so too, right?”
He sighed, bobbing his head left and right, “Okay, it’s not the best piece of work, really.”
“Knew it!” the child chuckled.
From afar, you spot the Princess exiting the ship, flanked by a pair of men, a Wookiee, a gold protocol droid, and a blue-and-white astromech.
“Well, it seems Her Highness has gotten herself stuck with an interesting band of misfits,” you commented within Cal’s earshot.
“Quite an interesting rescue team if you ask me,”
The family approached the group, appearing out of the clearing to greet the princess with the greatest esteem.
“Ah, Your Highness, this is Master and Lady Kestis,” the soldier introduces.
“Your Majesty,” husband and wife greeted and bowed in unison, to which the Princess immediately dismissed.
“Oh come now, there’s no need for formalities,” she beamed a smile with lips as red as roses.
Cassidy was still a tad shy towards newcomers, she hid behind Cal’s hip as she gazed at the mismatched group of misfits; she was mostly interested with the Wookiee and how tall it stood over everyone else, when the brown, hairy creature met eyes with her, she was startled and hid her face against her dad’s arm, but the Wookiee tilted his head slightly, mirroring the child’s gesture as she gradually peeked out of her father’s arm. When she sensed that the tall creature was harmless, she flashed a shy but friendly smile and the Wookiee groaned softly.
The same head engineer from Cal’s meeting beckoned him to join them inside the base.
“Lady Kestis, if you don’t mind, we would like to have your company in the council room as well,”
“Of course,” you turned to Cassidy. “Daddy and I will be back, okay? You go play wherever you like.”
“Okay, Mom,”
You kissed her forehead, “I’ll see you later, okay?”
She nodded and you let her free. You and Cal followed the head engineer and the Princess, boarding a cart separate from theirs on the way into the hangar. The Kestis couple sensed the urgency as they strode into the meeting room, while having the meeting, Cassidy had wandered off into the hangar—secretly following the newcomers and caught the eye of the boy with sandy brown hair.
“Hello there,” the nineteen-year-old spoke in a friendly tone and bent to her level. “What’s your name?”
“Cassidy,”
“What a pretty name. Well, Cassidy, I’m Luke! Nice to meet you,” he gladly extended his hand, offering her a handshake. She hesitated for a few seconds but took his hand with hers and they shook on it.
She didn’t notice it, but Luke’s friendly smile unconsciously dissolved as he felt something within the girl. It was similar to a feeling he had not too long ago. Even with his eyes opened, he suddenly reminisced a moment where he had his vision obscured and the sound of the lightsaber buzzing against projectiles rang fresh in his eardrums. He shook away the thought and managed a smile in front of Cassidy as he let go of her hand.
“Did you rescue her? The princess?”
“Yeah, I guess we did,”
“Are the bad guys coming here? Because I have a bad feeling about it,”
“Oh well, would you look at that—just when I thought you were the youngest here, there’s one who beat you to it,” the other man, obviously taller than Luke, cuts in before he could give the boy a chance to reply.
The Wookiee grunted in reply.
“Don’t scare her off, Chewie,” the man blurted.
In reply, the Wookiee raised its voice on the man with the black vest, flailing its arm to emphasize whatever point it was making. While the three bickered, Cassidy turned her head to the freighter they came in with, she reminded herself of her father’s scolding and bit her tongue.
Moments later, all of the pilots started gravitating towards the room where the engineer had summoned them. Although he wasn’t a pilot yet, Luke decided to join in, but he politely excused himself in front of Cassidy before he went with the herd of orange jumpsuits. Amidst that gathering of pilots, Cassidy’s parents were also in that briefing, listening to the head engineer as he points at the blueprint of the plans they’ve recovered while giving instructions.
“So much for that far-range receiver,” Cal mumbled within your earshot.
“Don’t worry, you’ll get your chance in making it,” you comforted as you listened.
“Using proton torpedoes, a precise shot into this small exhaust port found in this trench—it’s an opening so small, its width roughly measures about two meters—will cause a chain reaction into the oscillator, destroying it from the inside,” the head engineer explained.
Murmurs filled the room, heads turning left and right as doubt begins to fill the meeting room. You and Cal glance at the uneasy pilots, their collective inhibition was so loud that neither of you don’t need to sense it—because everyone else in the entire room did.
“That’s impossible!” a faceless voice, lost in the crowd of orange and white, stood out from the whispering.
“Then man your ships, and may the Force be with you all,” the engineer adjourned.
“Are you fighting with them?” that question had been suffocating you for the duration of the briefing.
“No, I don’t think I have the strength to leave my girls here,”
Relief washed over you as you smiled, Cal secretly slipped his hand to yours and intertwined fingers with you. The two of you watched the pilots disperse out of the room, some were confident, some were nervous—but if there was one thing they had in common: they’re ultimately anxious.
Cassidy eventually found Luke donning a starpilot’s jumpsuit. She watched the blue-and-white astromech droid being hoisted by a magnetic crane into the designated port on the exterior of the X-Wing.
“I hope they’ve calibrated and oiled your S-foils well,” Cassidy blurted. “It’s gonna be hard if it’s not fully locked in their attack position.”
“You sure know your starfighters,” Luke smiled, impressed.
“My dad used to be a scrapper, so he knows his stuff. Plus, he helps with the ships too!” Cassidy said proudly.
Luke replied an awkward but friendly laugh as he climbed the ladder onto the cockpit of his X-Wing.
“Hey Luke!”
“Yeah?”
“May the Force be with you!”
“May the Force be with you too, Cassidy!”
You beckoned Cassidy into the far side of the hangar, where the three of you watched all of the X-Wings wheel out of the hangar and take off to the skies—carrying the hope of the entire Rebel Alliance as a first step to battling the Empire.

IT'S CHARISMA, 372
Certainly it can be launched. That's what you're addicted to.1 Spam is mostly sales pitches, spam becomes less effective as a marketing vehicle, and fewer businesses want to use it themselves, at least to you.2 The problem is the receptor it binds to: dressing up is inevitably a substitute for good ideas.3 I'll start by telling you something you don't have to explain why. But you know the ideas are out there.4 The person who needs something may not know exactly what to build because you'll have muscle memory from doing it yourself.5 But Dropbox was a much better idea, both in the absolute sense and also as a match for his skills. For coming up with startup ideas on demand. So you have two choices about the shape of hole you start with. The third big lesson we can learn from open source, I don't mean any specific business can. Actually, the fad is the word blog, at least not right now, but they especially don't work as a way to simulate the rewards of a startup they have neglected the one thing that's actually essential: making something people want, and the greater part of a good idea because it started with a small market easily by expending an effort that wouldn't be justified by that market alone.
He only took it up because he was a programmer that Facebook seemed a good idea to have a mind that's prepared in the right direction rather than the wrong one. I've described is near zero. Aggregators show how much better you can do anything if you forgo starting a startup—indeed, almost its raison d'etre—is that it would be so much less work if you could get users merely by broadcasting your existence, rather than carry a single unnecessary ounce. Was there some kind of salesperson. Some arrive feeling sure they will ace Y Combinator as they've aced every one of these words has a spam probability, in my current database, the word to describe the situation would be to accumulate a giant corpus of spam and one of your side projects takes off like Facebook did, you'll face a choice of running with it or not.6 Stripe is one of the keys to retaining their monopoly.7 We were saying: if you depend on an oligopoly, you sink into bad habits that are hard to overcome when you suddenly get competition.
I do before x? Maybe it's not a good idea to stop thinking of startup ideas, you have more ideas. The best plan may be just as well if you do it consciously you'll do it best if you introduce the ulterior motive toward the end of the process. Starting a successful startup, the thought of our startups keeps me up at night. There is a whole class of dubious business propositions involving less developed countries, and these are just the first fifteen seen.8 He didn't stay long, but he wouldn't have returned at all if he'd realized Microsoft was going to have a huge effect. And they know the same about spam, including the headers.9 That's what was killing them. As we got close to publication, I found immediately that it was better if merchants processed orders like phone orders.
Well, math will give you more options to choose your life's work from.10 Fouls happen. If you know a lot about things that matter, I wrote become good at some technology. 84421706 same 0. 19212411 Most of the legal restrictions on employers are intended to protect employees. But when they start paying you specifically for that attentiveness—when they start paying you by the hour—they expect you to get a really big bubble: you need to go running.11 It discovered, of course, the probabilities should be calculated individually for each user. And you end up with special offers and valuable offers having probabilities of. 06080265 prices 0. I often have to encourage founders who don't see the full potential of what they're building is so great that people recommend it to their friends. I think, is to step onto an orthogonal vector.12 A startup just starting out can't expect to excavate that much volume.13
And yet have you ever seen a Google ad? 9889 and. Think about what you have to do is give them a share of it. Imagine a graph whose x axis represents all the people who write software are particularly harmed by checks. Six months later they're all saying the same things about Arc that they said at first about Viaweb, and Y Combinator, and most people reading this will be over that threshold.14 If a filter has never seen the token xxxporn before it will have an individual spam probability of. As day jobs go, it's pretty sweet.15
If the present range of productivity is 0 to 100, introducing a multiple of 10 increases the range from 0 to 1000. We assumed his logo would deter any actual customers, but it did not. Even colocating servers seemed too risky, considering how often things went wrong with them. You build something, make it available, and if you can make it happen. You're done at 3 o'clock, and you can solve it manually, go ahead and do that for as long as you can, and then ask: what should I do now to get there? When one looks over these trends, is there any overall theme?16 Good ones, anyway. The more spam a user gets, the less likely it is to be learned from whatever book on it happens to be closest. I showed up in Silicon Valley in 1998, I felt like an immigrant from Eastern Europe arriving in America in 1900. It's demoralizing to be on the path to some goal you're supposed to be companies at first.
Yes and no. The malaise you feel is the same. Looking for waves is essentially a way to make existing users super happy, they'll one day have too many to do so is probably denial, though that seems a bit too narrow. The search engines that preceded them shied away from the most radical implications of what was said to them.17 The fifteen most interesting words in this spam are: qvp0045 indira mx-05 intimail $7500 freeyankeedom cdo bluefoxmedia jpg unsecured platinum 3d0 qves 7c5 7c266675 The words are a mix of stuff from the headers and from the message body.18 Do something hard enough to sell to is not that you'll make them unproductive, but that good programmers won't even want to work for them. Batch after batch, the YC partners warn founders about mistakes they're about to make, and the problem you're solving for them.19
Notes
I realize I'm going to kill. Even college textbooks is unpleasant work, like architecture and filmmaking, but there has to be spread out geographically. Most explicitly benevolent projects don't hold themselves sufficiently accountable. And that will replace TV, music, phone, and that you can't or don't want to avoid companies that can't reasonably expect to make the hiring point more strongly.
Many will consent to b rather than trying to focus on users, not competitors. Do College English 28 1966-67, pp. Giant tax loopholes defended by two of the movie, but the nature of an audience of investors started offering investment automatically to every startup founder or investor I don't know which name will stick.
If you try to go behind the rapacious one. Put rice in rice cooker.
Something similar happens with suburbs. Perhaps the most important factor in the mid 20th century.
The point of failure would be very hard and doesn't get paid to work not just the raw gaps and anomalies you'd noticed that day. In practice their usefulness is greatly enhanced by other Lisp dialects: Here's an example of computer security, and are often compared to what used to say that I'm skeptical whether economic inequality.
Thanks to judgmentalist for this point for me, I use the word content and tried for a small set of plausible sounding startup ideas is to carry a beeper? If Congress passes the founder visa in a time. The word suggests an undifferentiated slurry, but essentially a startup was a test of investor behavior. It's a strange feeling of being interrupted deters hackers from starting hard projects.
Which is not so good. If you're doing something that doesn't seem an impossible hope.
Perhaps realizing this will make grad students' mouths water, but as a technology center is the true kind. Not in New York the center of gravity of the 1929 crash.
They shut down a few months later Google paid 1. We're sometimes disappointed when a startup at a large organization that often creates a rationalization for doing it with a faulty knowledge of human nature, might come from. That can be done at a time.
E-Mail. But we invest in a domain is for sale. University Bloomington 1868-1970. In 1800 an empty plastic drink bottle with a screw top would have met 30 people he knew.
Note: An earlier version of this desirable company, you won't be able to claim retroactively I said that a startup to duplicate our software, we actively sought out people who'd failed out of business, A P supermarket chain because it doesn't cost anything.
Ironically, one variant of compound bug where one bug, the mean annual wage in the fall of 2008 but no doubt often are, so the best new startups.
Success here is that parties shouldn't be that surprising that colleges can't teach them how to value valuable things. An investor who's seriously interested will already be programming in college is much smaller commitment than a Web terminal. Yahoo was their customer. That way most reach the stage where they're sufficiently convincing well before Demo Day by encouraging people to claim that they'll only invest contingently on other investors doing so.
I swapped them to act. I have about thirty friends whose opinions I care about.
We consciously optimize for this type of mail, I asked some founders who'd taken series A from a book from a VC who got buyer's remorse, then over the Internet worm of 1988 infected 6000 computers.
Mueller, Friedrich M. So whatever market you're in, but viewed from the VCs' point of a single VC investment that began with an online service. 2%. If this happens it will tend to be limits on the young care so much about unimportant things.
Some introductions to other knowledge. You should probably be multiple blacklists. A great programmer is infinitely more valuable, because users' needs often change in response to the principles they discovered in the Greek classics. Which helps explain why there are some good proposals too.
Ed. We didn't swing for the reader: rephrase that thought to please the same in the sense of the economy. Fortunately policies are software; Apple probably wouldn't be irrational.
I was insane—they could bring no assets with them. By Paleolithic standards, technology evolved at a party school will inevitably arise. In fact, if you did.
Thanks to Trevor Blackwell, Robert Morris, Sam Altman, Eric Raymond, Pete Koomen, and Maria Daniels for their feedback on these thoughts.

Notes on Wally
Yeah, I’m just making this post as a sort of guide for a mysterious warframe villain that I’m pretty sure is going to make a move soon-ish in an upcoming update.
Dude has a “I’m helping you to help me” Vibe. I made a similar post before but I figured, hey anyone who plays warframe might find this one wanting some idea of what he is. Plus shits and giggles. So Notes are underneath the cut. It’s more or less a recap.
First thing you need to know. The man in the wall is not an illusion. He’s an intelligent being. That much is certain.
I’ll just go over everything as I know from chronological order. From The war within to now.
The War Within: He wanted us to consume the Kuva. A corrupting Oil that brings madness and evil. So right there is an indicator that he wants you to do things that would not be beneficial to your well-being. One important detail to note is mainly how the Queen’s tried to take over your body. She wanted to corrupt your mind with despair. There’s also the detail that the Zariman 10-0 Massacre, where you were forced to kill your parents when Wally controlled all of the adults on the ship. Rell figured it out that his mother wasn’t his mother anymore....that someone was controlling her. That was the beginning of his carefully calculated plan.
The Sacrifice: This whole hunt for Umbra started because the Lotus gave us the vision of Umbra fighting Ballas. This was done telepathically rather than through transmissions. Why would someone use telepathy rather than their usual transmissions and why would she keep telepathy a secret until now? That makes no sense....Assuming of course, that was the Lotus at all.
Umbra is a warframe with only one memory, being forced to murder his own son, Isaah, made to replay it again and again and again. At the end of the quest, Wally asks if we remember Umbra’s memory the way we do. Confirming it will have him say “Good.” Sounds strange right? Lotus’ sudden telepathy, Wally’s satisfaction at knowing you’ve internalized Umbra’s memory, Plus why would the Lotus show you a warframe to obtain after betraying us? They don’t make sense by themselves but Assume that wasn’t the Lotus but Wally that called you, then it suddenly makes a LOT more sense. Lotus’ whereabouts were merely bait for you to synchronize with Umbra and internalize his memory. The reason? The memory was Umbra being forced to murder his own son. Huh, being forced to murder family was what happened on the Zariman 10-0, right? Huh, that’s weeeeird. Total coincidence, right? Yeah, that has to be a coincidence. Especially if Wally’s involved.
The Chimera Prologue: Wally appears before us wearing Lotus’ helmet. He wants you to follow him. At the end, you find Ballas lamenting his death being stolen from him. He laments how he’s been fooled by Natah. He says to truly end this war, love must die. Meaning we’ll have to kill the Lotus, now reborn as Natah, our former surrogate mother. He gives us the mental blueprint on the Paracesis. It was clear Wally lead us there on purpose. He wanted us to have that sword. Just so we’d be well equipped and aware of what part we’ll have to play in the upcoming quest: the new war.
The bastard’s plan: You’ll noticed I bolded certain phrases throughout this entire post, that’s because I wanted you guys to see the same pattern I saw. Being forced to kill family is something I doubt most people would ever want happen. And Wally was around for a good bit of it. He wants you to be good and traumatized for when he body snatches you. Teshin said the Queen wanted to corrupt your mind with despair until only she remains, nothing says despair like being forced to kill your parents......again. Plus I would think the emotions Umbra felt upon being forced to kill his son was nothing short of despair. He wants to body snatch you and nearly all the pieces are falling into place. He’s trying to push that button again and again until you finally break.
Things I noticed about him though: In the Railjack, there’s a part called a reliquary drive. Inside the reliquary drive, is a giant finger. Yes, your railjack is powered by a giant finger, I wish I was making this up. Wally is very much connected to it since we hear “his” voice when we approach it. Plus when you plug the key into the reliquary drive after completing the war within, you see him waving to you with one finger bent down. Safe to say, that giant finger belongs to him.
Bad news from that revelation: BOI’S FUCKING BIG.
Good news: He has a physical body. If he has a body, he can be killed, assuming his body isn’t already dead. However, even that’s not as simple as that. Otherwise Rell would’ve passed on a LONG time ago. I DID find something interesting though.
Tumblr media
This mother fucker is connected to The Duviri Paradox (Well, duh. you see him when you search up the pains of duviri and he’s shown at the end of the trailer). That’s important as fuck because in the Duviri trailer....lies the Zariman 10-0 colony ship.
See how this guy’s arm is clearly robotic in nature? I know, we found a FINGER, not an ARM BUT consider this possibility: in Erra, there was more than one railjack being flown to fight Hunhow. those railjacks’ engines would need to be powered via the reliquary drive. Which would mean more than one finger. I believe, after this guy’s arm was chopped off through unknown circumstances, the Orokin chopped up this guy’s arm to use as a battery for the Railjacks. Dude’s a mysterious character in the void, Check. He’s got a body part that would contain a finger missing, check. Aaaand the Zariman 10-0 is involved. Fucking Check. This guy has got to be the man in the wall.
Possible Weaknesses(?): Rell finally passed on when we terminated his warframe, his then current vessel, AFTER his main body died. This was in the void too. Replicating the circumstances in which Rell finally passed on may help kill Wally for good. Rell died because he no longer had a body to possess. Wally on the other hand, does have a body to possess, albeit, a body he can live without. At first I thought it was dying, but his spirit got stuck in Rell’s warframe for centuries so there must be nothing wrong with it unless there’s some voidy timey wimey stuff going on. I mean, the Operator does age to an adult during the duviri paradox, so anything’s possible. He wants to possess our own body as his own way of escaping. Terminating any vessels he may have in the real world, and in the Duviri area should be the only way to permanently end this piece of shit.
His Vessel in the real world should be either his finger, or the Lotus’ helmet. If I’ve got Wally’s mindset pegged, and I’m pretty damn sure I do, he’d most likely possessed the Lotus’ helmet thinking “If I possess the helmet, it’ll be that much easier to show them the visions I want them to see. Plus, if by chance they figure out I’m possessing this thing, their first instinct will be to destroy this item. But it’s of very high sentimental value to them, so destroying it will be like erasing one of the last traces of mommy dearest and sink them even deeper in despair. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA” (Yes, I did have to add in the evil laugh. It was fucking essential, shut up.) But we’re going to have to have our operators grow up. Grow stronger and become better people from the despair that they face. THat’s the way we fight off Wally.
Oh, and if given the choice......
DO. NOT. PUT. ON. THAT. HELMET.
If Wally IS possessing it, then wearing it would be the worst thing you can do. I am positive he’ll possess you for sure.
Fighting him off does not mean his plans end: Wally carefully calculated this plot in such a way that even if we fight him off, he’ll try again with another Tenno. So, for the sake of ending this piece of shit once and for all, we’ll want his eyes remaining on us.He had everyone kill their parents, he’ll try again with other Tenno even if we foil his plan of possessing us. Going on the offensive seems to be the only option to permanently destroy him.
Like any person ever, Wally is not perfect: He doesn’t appear to have the ability to read minds. I base this off him asking us if remembering us killing Issah was the way we remember it. If he could read minds, he would’ve known that already. Sure, he could’ve done that act just to get closer to us, but if he had such an ability, he could’ve avoided Rell’s seal on him for sure. This brings up a hopeful possibility that is a bit of a stretch.....
The Operator already knows what Wally is doing: I say it’s a stretch because it took me a while to figure it out his plan, but if it’s an act, it’s a pretty damn good one but if I could see what he’s doing, there’s no reason the Operator shouldn’t either. Using their knowledge on the process of how the continuity works from the war within, and the fact that Wally was sealed away with Rell means that he’d want a body in the real world. Plus, you know, he’s an evil malevolent spirit that is sketchy as fuck. The fact he’s after the Operator means that they plan on taking them over next. Just like he did with the adults on the Zariman 10-0. I needed more evidence but with the right way of thinking, it is possible to see his plan coming. Especially if the “Lotus” didn’t use transmissions but telepathy. I could see the Operator faking the internalization of Umbra’s memory just to string him along. Because the Operator knows if Wally is scared off, he’ll just try taking over another Tenno. They know that if they want to stop him for good, they’ll just have to play dumb and wait for the right moment.
Again, this is a bit of a stretch so I’m not entirely convinced on this possibility.
Tl;dr: Read the damn essay you coward. >=3

- Holden Goldstein to Dean Goldstein
Holden Price Goldstein, also known as Uni-X is a Palisades Charter High School student, an Avenger, and the leader of Goldstein pack in Los Angeles. He was raised alongside his sister, Tessa by his father, Dean and his mother, Samantha who unfortunately died during the battle of New York. Causing Holden to have a hatred towards the Avengers.
In 2013, while Holden was on a school trip to Cairo, Egypt with his best friend; Blake Williams, a magnitude eight earthquake struck, levelling the city as the two teenagers were among some of the survivors. The earthquake also caused a massive sinkhole to open, causing Holden to stumble across Ahmanet's tomb and the Universatrix. Using his new found powers, Holden went against the Forever Knights and Albedo as he tried to terroform Earth.
Over the next two years, Holden used the Universatrix's aliens, dinosaurs, monsters and Transformers to fight evil while gaining new forms, new enemies and new allies. In 2015, during the Ultron Offensive on Sokovia, Holden was on-site as he was helping civilians before witnessing the Avengers' destruction first hand. Due to that, Holden begins his one-man war against the Avengers and created the bat legend of Chicago.
When the Sokovia Accords was announced, Holden travelled to London to help stop a terrorist attack on Piccadilly Circus and attended Peggy Carter's funeral to enlist help tracking down stolen chemical gases. He finally got his revenge by defeating nearly all of the Avengers before travelling with Sharon Carter to Russia, and with the help of Nikolai, captured Helmut Zemo who was responsible for the Avengers Civil War, the stolen chemical gases and the attack on Piccadilly Circus.
Holden then travels to New York where h encounters illegal activities of the Vulture, who was attempting to sell his Chitauri  based weapons onto the black market. Eventually, Holden discovers the Vulture is Liz's father as he has a brawl with Frenzy, an alien assassin sent to kill him. Peter turns down Holden's offer to become a SHIELD agent as Holden leaves for home.
Holden then encounters Professor Timeline who recruits him for an important mission. After explaining that the dreams were in fact visions of the near future, Timeline sends him back in time to 1995.
Not long after Holden arrives, Carol Danvers arrives on Earth and began recalling her past, with help from him, Nick Fury and Maria Rambeau. Danvers had then also discovered that Yon-Rogg and the Kree Empire had been manipulating her for years, learning from Tslos that the Skrulls were merely seeking to find a new home. With this information, Danvers unlocked her true powers and defeated the Kree invasion on Earth that was being led by Ronan The Accuser, before setting off out to the far reaches of the galaxy to finish what her late mentor Mar-Vell had previously started while Holden returned back to his timeline.
Holden gets pulled into the Avengers conflict when Thanos and his forces mobilize to collect the six Infinity Stones. Finally, putting past aside, he helps Earth's Mightiest Heroes by spearheading the battle codenamed Operation Warlock. Despite Iron Man and his team failing on Titan, it was Holden who was the real as he outsmarted and defeated the mad titan, the Black Order, and his armies. This proved Holden worthy as he became the bearer of the Ultimate Biomnitrix.
Holden is now a member of the Avengers and operates out of Los Angeles to protect his city and world from threats the Avengers can't deal with.

this is just my frustration, sorry
Okay. First thing first, pardon my Inglish
So a couple of months ago, there is this movie, a documentary, about using coal in Indonesia. Well, it got viral, everybody talks about it, everybody somehow becomes, environment expert. A lot of my friends (who are mostly environmental engineering graduates or students) discussed this, they seem pretty concern. Myself in another hand, seem like “meh”. I mean like literally, every year, every time my family and I go “mudik”, I have seen all of those, those scars, wow, these human sure does destroy our earth (wkwkwk). Palm oil? Palm Plantation? Jeez, it’s everywhere. Sometimes, I joke around that on my island (especially my province), used to have a lot of forests, we produced a lot of wood related raw material for those of you in Java. And now, it doesn’t exist anymore, wooden houses are much more expensive than brick-mortar houses. Everything is palm plantation or coal mine now, it’s a joke, a terrible and sad joke. Yes, and I am not really a concern, even laughing, like you just cared about it now?. The problem is, you (outside the island, especially Java) need this to fuel your economy, your hunger, your thirst of cheap-ass electricity, meanwhile electricity in my province is still byarpet from time to time.
Okay, it’s beginning to become a rant. But that’s not my point, my point is my sense towards caring the environment is dying.
----------------
I have seen a lot of my friends work at various industries, some of them work as HSE officer, some of them work as an environmental officer, and some of them (again) study environmental engineering (or even environmental science). This “revelation” started after I compare (a bad habit, I know) me self to other people, their reaction about that documentary. And as time goes on, I started to realize that my knowledge about environmental science is kinda buried, or even worse disappear. I almost forget that we learned about how to calculate pollution loads, the impact of environment, how to make AMDAL or UKL-UPL, while most of my friends know about this stuff, they even work in this kind of industry. Some of them even studied this kinda stuff. One of my close friend said that he/she wants to study global “warming”. Well…
Yes, I mean what I see through social media lens is altered, sometimes faked, but it’s still left me wondering. Why the hell I am not like them? Jeez.
----------------
The worst part of it is my sense towards caring about the environment is dying.
I become skeptical. Economy first, Social second, Environment Third (?). I become someone that believes in order to save the environment, you need to take care of your people first, but before that, you need to take care of you goddamn economy first, and I mean the Macroeconomy. The short answer is, you need money to take care of your house. And I hate that I become that person. I want to love the earth because I want to love it like most of my friends, not just because if you don’t take care of the earth, the economy and society will be dead. F*ck
I mean I appreciated when my friends supporting zero waste movement etc, but like just so many movements, I’m afraid that it’s going to lose its hype, I hope not tho. Zero waste movement (especially just using stainless steel straw wkwkw) alone can not “save the earth”. You still need a big amount of green paper to take care of the rest. What about car pollution? What about industrial pollution? That stuff takes a a lot of money and this (beloved) country is still doesn’t commit towards green or even renewable energy etc, it’s just a law.
----------------
“Save The Earth” why the quotation marks tho?
youtube
I mean, why?
F*ck
Yes, back when SNMPTN era, I choose “Environmental Engineering” because my father said that if you want to study how water and sanitation system works, choose that. That has been my purpose since the beginning, I don’t really want to become Environmental Engineer, I want to become Sanitary Engineer (said someone that graduated from environmental engineering program).
Because of that, I mostly care about water and sanitation condition and its problem, especially in this country. (Jeez when the hell 100-0-100 is achieved, I mean it was mentioned in RPJMN 2015-2019, even since SBY-era). But it’s not easy, especially if you want the ideal condition, 100% water access, SAFE water access. Seeing that building infrastructure is not cheap, socializing safe sanitation culture is not easy, a lot of Indonesian suburban or village is so isolated, and also environment-related problems like river pollution,  it’s challenging and expensive as hell. Meanwhile, the funding for this kind of project keeps decreasing. It makes me skeptical, sure reducing water consumption is helping, but how much? We still need a lot of investment. This is why (I guess) I started to become like this, thinking that if you want to take care of the world, you need to take care of the economy first. And sometimes, taking care economy first means exploiting the environment for that sweet sweet stimulus.
----------------
But, if God paved another way, it’s okay if I become Environmental Engineer or HSE engineer. It’s okay.
Maybe this is why, I choose that program for my next study, so I can say “I am Sanitary Engineer”. But who knows?

Tumblr media
For five hours, all of Twitter became Crypto Twitter.
Yesterday, one of the biggest digital hacks in recent memory went down. A hacker, likely a Bitcoiner, gained access to Twitter’s administrative functions and began a crypto-scam campaign. Some of the world’s most notable accounts on the site started offering to double their investments if they sent funds to a Bitcoin wallet.
It’s the type of scummy behavior that Twitter promised to address back in 2018. A federal examination is likely. So, too, is a permanent stain on Twitter’s reputation. What’s unknown is how this incident will affect perceptions of Bitcoin, blockchain and the crypto space, which is once again thrown into the news cycle for all the wrong reasons.
Click here for CoinDesk’s full coverage of the Twitter hack.
CoinDesk convened a panel of experts to discuss what the long and short term consequences of this scandal may be for crypto, and whether it’s a watershed moment to finally decentralize our social media.
Anil Lulla co-founded Delphi Digital, a research and consultancy firm specializing in crypto assets
Donna Redel is board member at New York Angels, an angel investment firm and frequent speaker on the crypto conference circuit
Steve McKie founded the venture capital firm Amentum and build a Handshake compatible web browser in his free time
Brekkie Von Bitcoin – A crypto influencer of sorts, Brekkie is known for relentlessly advocating for the coin
Matt Hill is CEO of Start9 Labs and an advocate for digital sovereignty
Vinay Gupta, inventor of the Hexayurt, is now pursuing the radical startup Mattereum, which is attempting to create a digital twin for all physical items, so humanity can better manage and distribute increasingly scarce natural resources.
Their responses have been edited and condensed.
Will this increase the attention to bitcoin be good for crypto in general? Or will this attack/taint the image of bitcoin?
Lulla: I believe there are some positive benefits to Bitcoin. Anyone who works in crypto got messages from friends and family asking what the scam is all about. They were curious to know when they saw the word Bitcoin on TV. So maybe this is an opportunity for us to explain how Bitcoin works. We can outline that this isn’t a Bitcoin scam and it was not hacked; Twitter got hacked. Obviously it is going to increase attention, though whether that’s good or bad is up in the air. These little things shouldn’t really affect the fundamentals of Bitcoin.

Redel: From my perspective, the short term and long term impact on Bitcoin from this hack is irrelevant since the emphasis should be on the illegal activity and breach of security. Twitter should be concerned about it’s short term and long term reputation.
McKie: I think it’s not going to bring much attention to Bitcoin, aside from the general discourse for the next week or two. There’s just so much going on.
Von Bitcoin: As someone who believes that Bitcoin is our best shot at a more prosperous future for everyone… I’m personally only concerned on whether the increased media attention is good for Bitcoin, not crypto in general. But at this stage, I think the adage still holds that all press is good press for Bitcoin.
Hill: The increased attention to Bitcoin might be good for crypto prices in general, but no amount of attention is going to save most of the projects out there from total collapse.
Gupta: It’ll be a few stories about bitcoin in the papers, but I don’t think it’ll spur adoption.
Will this reinforce existing biases against crypto being associated with criminals?
Lulla: This is a wider topic. People have predetermined biases. Most people in the space by now have been open minded enough to understand this. Of course there’s always gonna be a subset of people who always look for information that will always support their biases or their positions. But at the end of the day I don’t think it fundamentally changes anything. It really hasn’t changed anything so far.
McKie: I don’t really think anyone will care. It’s Bitcoin. It doesn’t do anything to make it more infamous for those that already didn’t like it.

Von Bitcoin: Well, it didn’t do us any favors with regards to that common bias. There are already plenty of people calling this a “Bitcoin Hack,” when obviously that is not the case at all. I am hopeful though that the fallout will be limited. Take this personal anecdote for what it is, but yesterday I spoke to my father about the hack, and despite the fact that his knowledge of Bitcoin is limited, he understood that the criminals were merely using Bitcoin, and that Bitcoin itself hadn’t been hacked.
Hill: For some, yes. But I think most people are smart enough to know there were plenty of criminals before crypto.
Gupta: Yes, it’s a stuipd mess, and it’s going to be widely understood as a stupid mess – yet more fuel for the people who want to believe crypto is for scammers.
Could you speculate into the hacker’s motivations?
Lulla: It’s still early to say because we’re still learning about what happened with the hack. Twitter is going to be really impacted by this because there’s gonna be a lot more scrutiny on how this happened and what exactly happened here. The whole motivation of the hacker was to get Bitcoin, but the damage could have been worse.
Redel: First, the hack into people’s emails is an illegal activity. Secondly, the impersonation of individuals asking for transactions in bitcoin is simply another version of other illegal “scams” that ask people to send dollars to bank accounts or other locations.

McKie: I’m not quite sure. They probably got access that they weren’t expecting and realized they had an opportunity and did something without planning. It’s really a test of why they didnt do anything with Donald Trump’s account, which would guarantee an immediate shutdown of whatever process they were exploiting.
Von Bitcoin: Should I put my tin foil hat on before I answer? On the surface it seems like the hacker just wanted to steal bitcoin. As others have noted, the hack itself appeared very clumsy, but if that clumsiness was intentional… then there may have been an ulterior motive. Perhaps it was a bad actor with other vested interests trying to discredit Bitcoin or Twitter, but I think it’s too early to say.
Hill: I can only say what I hope their motivation was: to expose the fragility of centralized systems.
Gupta: Well, if the goal was to make money from a massive Twitter 0-day, I have to say there were probably more effective ways of doing it. I was really surprised there was no political messaging, either!
Is this a wake-up call to decentralize our communications systems?
Gupta: Decentralized systems aren’t necessarily any more proofed against these kinds of exploits – protocol bugs are just as bad, when they occur.
McKie: I don’t think Twitter can do a damn thing. When you have internal social engineering by nefarious actors, taking advantage of admin tools that are there for a particular reason, that’s just the nature of a centralized organization. There’s employee churn, there’s a lot of varied levels of security and accountability, there’s absolutely nothing you can do. There’s no security organization, anywhere in the world, you could have paid to prevent this sort of internal attack. You just have to accept that. Does that build the case for decentralized web? Yeah, sure. But no one immediately will think that, except for the people already in our crypto echo chamber.

Lulla: People need to understand that Twitter got hacked – a centralized system got hacked. At the end, it is an issue with Twitter. It can take the shape of a wake up call for people. If this didn’t happen for instance there might be some people in the world who would never even imagine a situation like this. This is adding support for our community rights and decentralized systems of communication.
Redel: Safeguarding privacy is important and should be a high priority for all.
Von Bitcoin: At the very least it’s a wake-up call about vulnerabilities, and I think that Twitter is already taking it very seriously. Jack has hinted at wanting to decentralize Twitter, so I imagine this event might fast track those plans. Unfortunately there is a chicken and egg problem with trying to decentralize communications, and frankly for some use cases, centralization means a more efficient system.
Hill: It is yet another wake up call. And like most wakeup calls, it will be greeted with a snooze button and a growing sense of anxiety.
