Of everything that happens in the new issue of Immortal Thor, this scene stands out the most to me as something I feel will be one of the most important scenes of both the issue and the run as a whole.
In the very beginning of gods, of Earth, of humanity, of stories, among the very first incarnations of the archetypes that Thor and Loki embody - the mighty warrior and the devious trickster - see each other and immediately get into a fight out of sheer revulsion of everything their twin stands for.
Good vs evil. Light vs dark. Order vs chaos. Brawn vs brain. Control vs freedom. Life vs death. Fate vs choice. Peace vs war. Mundanity vs magic. Law vs crime. Creation vs destruction. Love vs hate. And many more. Clashing opposites, battling for supremacy. A cycle of violence and debate passed down the generations, from father to son, mentor to student, predecessor to successor, and so on. Brother waging battle against brother just to prove a point, to fulfill their role in the story. An ideological blood feud applied to archetypes and titles and narratives. Trickling all the way down into it's present expression... Thor and Loki.
Tumblr media
Already it's clear that cycles of this sort are going to be a very large theme of Immortal Thor. The concept of recurrences and stories being retold over the years have been talked about a lot by the narrator. The comic goes to great lengths to draw attention to how Thor and his cast and, by extension, their own world in the form of comics are falling into patterns that transcend through time. And I feel that's going to be the crux of a great deal of the plot.
Loki hates the cycle. In their roles as both the goddess of stories and the god of mischief, they abhor stagnation and repetition. They want to be free of the roles "assigned" by the narrative. They want to be free of the debate, the never-ending battle of good and evil that ha destroyed their family time and again. Thor would want to be free of it too, if he realized he were part of it. But he struggles to do so. He's a rock in the sea of time. A god among mortals, a child of two worlds watching in confusion and grief as his human friends age and change and die around him while his divine brothers and sisters continue to stay the same. In this, they are trying to do what Gaea wanted to do but couldn't; to break the cycle.
Toranos and Utgard-Loki don't want to break the cycle. They ARE the cycle. Embodiments of the sins of the forefathers carrying down to their children. Representations of the archetypes of Thors and Lokis at their absolute worst, shorn of all true depth and compassion and true belief in their aspects in favor of continuing the godforsaken argument. Shades of the old festering in the blood of the young, infesting them with their baggage, holding them back from growing better, and lashing out at them when the new generations fail to meet the standards of the elders. And they may not even realize they're doing so.
This isn't the first time this theme has come up in Al Ewing's work.
Tumblr media
Immortal Hulk presents the conflict between the Hulk and his archenemy, the Leader, as a similar generational feud. Both in a literal familial sense (the Banner and Sterns families being divided and warring after Robert and Samuel Sterns turn on each other) and a larger ideological sense (people using the power of gamma for good or ill, going all the way to the first Hulk being born from a leader's selfish desire to misuse magic as a tool of conquest). Sometimes the thoughtful man is the hero, sometimes the brute is. But they always fight. Senselessly and pointlessly. And the Green Door and the horror it brings was only stopped... by breaking the cycle. By defying it. By Hulk choosing to never sink to Leader's level, or those of his predecessors, and instead choose to forgive.
And Ewing makes clear cycles and wars spanning centuries like this are common in the Marvel Universe. The Eternity Mask is passed down generations of men and women, always fighting for freedom against those who would deny it. Nick Fury passes his name and identity and role onto his son. There's always an Ant Man, inheriting their predecessor's problems, and there's always an Ultron, trying to claim dominion. Arakko and Krakoa alike are divided between those who hold to the old ways and those who seek new ways. Ebony and Ivory Kings do their work, from within and without. On and on, the wheels turn.
It even goes back to the very beginning. To prior multiverses. All tracing back to the first super battle, the first superhero and first supervillain - Lifebringer-One and Anti-All, the cosmic knight and the entropic dragon - fighting for the fate of the nascent world.
Tumblr media
Effectively, Ewing views and represents the narratives of superhero comics as we know them, as a sort of repeating song. The metatextual commentary is that all this has happened before and will happen again, because humanity will always dream of heroes battling monsters. There will always be a knight and a dragon. A warrior and a trickster. A superhero and a supervillain.
But he also acknowledges how this can go too far. How comics can fall into stagnating loops of repeating stories and stall status quos. Spider-Men being denied their stories because editors want to live in nostalgia instead of the now. X-Men getting their progress towards coexistence undone because writers can't handle change.
And this is all what Immortal Thor is about and will be about. The struggle for balance between opposites and extremes. Cyclical narratives and worlds. Ideas and stories being inherited and passed on. And all of it a commentary on comic books themselves and their history and role in culture.
It's brilliant stuff.

OK so for Mythology. The way I'm thinking of this is that they are Proto-Indo-European gods whose roles overlap with Greek mythological counterparts, but I'm also mixing in some Roman, Norse, and Celtic deities. So it's not so much "Mo'at is Gaia" as "Mo'at is a mythological figure LIKE Gaia." The Omaticaya would be forest and earth deities. Mo'at would be the Earth Mother, like the Earth Primordial Gaia. Eytukan would therefore be her opposite, the Sky Ouranos that was made by Gaia. Their daughter, Neytiri, would be the Dawn Goddess, like Eos, most fair of all their children and born of the union of light between Sky and Earth. Sylwanin was the goddess of wild forests before she was killed (we'll get to who in a minute). Tsu'tey, then, is a War God, but in the sense of society and defense, like Athena or Mars.
In this AU I'm operating under 'the recoms and humans all exist at the same time.' Grace Augustine was a human who has received so much love and devotion that she had an apotheosis and became a goddess (like Psykhe or Dionysos), but her nature as Former Human means she is not on the same level of divinity as the other gods and can be killed. As the goddess of knowledge, and seeing how vulnerable knowledge has become in this world consumed by human greed, she created the "Avatars" or humans she elevates to divine status to help her protect knowledge and gain more. This makes the 'Avatars' gods like her, but also gods without patronage that act solely as enforcers of her will, like Valkyries.
Quaritch and the Recoms are deities that rebelled from Grace's control. They used her divine gifts to co-opt a new source of divinity, Unobtanium, so they can exist with divine power but without her ability to take that gift away. They resented the control Grace had and the limits that the Omaticaya enforced, and seek to become gods in their own right.
Jake is a Trickster God, a mix of Loki and Prometheus. Originally, Tommy was going to be one of Grace's deities, but upon his death the divinity settled onto Jake by accident. His divinity, and existence outside of Grace's will, made him a curiosity to the Gods of the (Home)Tree of Life, and they invited him to reside there to learn both about him and the way of true divinity. He initially was secretly working with Quaritch, seduced by Quaritch's promise of freedom, but his love of the goddess Neytiri and his realization of how the Recoms were destroying the balance of the world convinced him to truly join the Omaticaya. Still, when the Recoms attacked the Tree of Life (think the battle between the Olympians and the Titans) Grace and the Omaticaya were so disgusted by his treachery that they severed his connection to the divine. However, Jake uses his wits to trick the Great Leonopteryx into giving him a portion of its power, making him a true god on the level of Neytiri and the other Omaticaya.
The final battle happens, and most of the Recoms are slain, and Quaritch almost severs Jake's connection to the Divinity of the Leonopteryx, but Neytiri saves him and Quaritch flees into the world. It is only after this that Jake is granted true divinity by Eywa and becomes the patron god of tricksters.
I'll get to ATWOW in a bit. People are calling me
Tonowari and Ronal would be ancient water primordials, who lived before gods or titans, like Oceanus and Tethys.
I love and I love your brain, wow. Mo’at and Eytukan as the earth and sky is SO good, Grace as an ascended human who’s created the Avatars is unbelievable— the story and the way you’ve connected all the canon events into comprehensive parallels to GODS??? I’m in awe
You need to expand on this, I would eat up every single word. Literally still speechless at Grace and the avatars that’s so good, I love it so much and Jake’s trickery and wit being the reason that he’s both severed from divinity and gifted godhood DAMN DUDE
You are wonderful and I am patiently waiting for more

clea does feel off to me too yeah. but i can't for the love of all that is holy put my finger on how exactly. what she says just doesn't sound like .. her
I'm glad you think so, because I haven't found time to see what the rest of the fandom has been thinking since her series came out. And I want to get into this for a minute.
For context I've really only have a little insight on Clea.
I read a bit about her was when she was a new student of Doctor Strange (in the silver age comics), and that's a obviously a drastically different Clea than the one we have now. I believe she was written more as a damsel in distress than the strong independent sorcerer we know now.
And even recently I only had a small sense of her as his ex-wife in the modern version of Doctor Strange (2015 series to now). Now I believe that version of Clea was written very well, where she was characterized as this leader (Herald Supreme arc, Death of Doctor Strange (2021)), taking charge, having influence, bringing together an entire community to act as one. I like this Clea, she's great!
Because I now enter Strange (2022) with that Clea in mind, and it's just so odd to me how she acts now.
First of all, the most appalling thing is how she acts as a Supreme. Apparently she also counts as the Supreme of her home dimension, so maybe it's okay if she acts like this there, (and yes, I get that she's not gonna be just like Dr. Strange), but just look at this, for example:
Tumblr media
(from Strange #1)
First, I strongly appreciate Wong calling her out on this. Now as we know, Wong has been Dr. Strange's longest friend. He was there at the very beginning of his arc as a sorcerer, so he's seen it all and helped Stephen through it all. Guiding Dr. Strange to grow as a Supreme, which he states, is his very job. And Strange #1 is where the weird stuff with Clea really starts becoming prominent, and I don't want to excuse it even if she's still in her mourning phase. A couple things that stand out to me:
1) She's KILLING people.
Tumblr media
More on this in a minute.
2) She constantly dismisses Wong.
Wong comes from a family who have served the Supreme for generations. The dude is just here to help! But the thing is, he's grown beyond just "the Sorcerer Supreme's aid" because he and Dr. Strange are literally friends now. They love each other, they care about each other. He allowed Wong to enter his life as his friend, and that bond allowed Wong to become great friends with Clea and the rest of Stephen's friends and family.
So Clea and Wong also have a history together. That's why it's so so weird for me to read this and see Clea literally wave him off without first taking in his advice. It's honestly a little rude.
Tumblr media
Yeah maybe Doom was a little right to be concerned that Clea just adopted her late husband's title without going through the procedures with the Vishanti first. People tend to earn the Supreme title and this just feels like Loki's goofy self acting like Supreme again.
She's not even performing the regular duties of a Supreme. As much as I don't like the Avengers, it is proper for her to tell them that she's the one in charge of mystic stuff for right now, but she doesn't even care about that. Her basic role as earth's Supreme is being ignored!
Clea really shouldn't be lectured on how to be a Supreme. She's been with Doctor Strange for ages and has seen how he worked, why is she acting brand new?
3) Her strong attachment to this "warlord" persona.
Now I have not read too many stories with Doctor Strange and Clea's adventures in the dark dimension where they fight off her bastard relatives, but I thought she had moved on from them? It's so so weird to me that she keeps laying claim to her relation with them like a mantra. When the hell has Clea ever acted like this?
Tumblr media
Why is it that she keeps repeating this line? She literally says this line at least once an issue. Who cares what your relatives did in the past? They're literally evil. And they kill people!
And even if you do now too, why?? You're a Supreme, honey. That's not what we do here. Dr. Strange would never do this, and I don't think you should either. Yeah, he had a doctor's oath, but it was more than just that.
4) "Gangsters"
Tumblr media
She says the word "gangster" like a kid who just learned a new favorite word. Doesn't it just seem so funny whenever she calls someone a "gangster"? She says this as many times she lays claim to her "warlord" heritage.
Just why, Clea?

Now with the Disney live action boom which are announced every three days , the Harry Potter remake and the FNAF film that already has almost confirmed .Lately I've thought "If a love actions of my fic were made, what would be the cast of actors?".
I've been thinking about this during the showers! So here I leave my cast list of my imaginary live action cast of my fanfic XD: love actions cringe was made from my fic XD:
Attention: I don't know many actors, I prefer to see things in animated format, so forgive me if many appear in the same work or are very generic and predictable xd
Tumblr media
Andrew Garfield: Damos Gaspar.
I know Andrew doesn't stick around to make the canonical Damos, but for my fic's version I think it's fine, after all in my fic he's a 24 year old guy and the way I draw him I try to favor that point of my fic.
I think Andrew without any problem can play the young priest who at the beginning is an optimistic young man with his destiny and little by little he discovers that the reality that he has believed all his life is more complicated than it seemed, besides that despite being a good guy he has his shades of gray.
I also like to imagine the interpretation he would make in the funny moments with Pili and the tense moments that will be quite drastic, if I can call them that.
Tumblr media
Chris Evans: Arceus
As I said, I don't know much about actors, but in the hypothetical case that this live action had been done about 5 years ago, I would have chosen this guy for Arceus. Now not so much or maybe yes?... It's complicated, it's that Chris already notices the change weather after end game xd
But let's imagine that we have in front of Chris from about 5 years ago, so without a doubt he has the role for our llama perfectionist.
Tumblr media
Ryan Gosling: Argique
The same as Chris, but if I give him a chance, he currently doesn't look so bad to try the kaloshiny.
Can you imagine Ryan playing Argique eating? It would be historic because of how funny it would be.
Tumblr media
Tom Hiddleston: Marcus Koroterna
This would undoubtedly be our beloved emperor. With the great interpretation of him to Loki,he already has experience with characters who are charismatic villains. Also, just look at it! The wardrobe would be perfect! Not even Marcus's weird hairstyle could ruin that!
Tumblr media
Jenn Murray: Acomfire
The same as with Tom Hiddleston. The character is made for her!I was literally based on Gerda from the movie Maleficent 2, for its great design and redesign. So I think she is the one, in addition to her, her fixed and penetrating gaze will transmit to the viewer that it's not a good idea to mess with the Emperor, because he has someone dangerous behind him.
Tumblr media
Emma Watson:Olga Koroterna (young age), Ava Gaspar or Martha
Any of those three would suit you.
She could play Olga when flashbacks are shown of her when she was a young princess, with big dreams and determination to be a good girl.empress for her people.
Also the great Ava Gaspar, that restless woman who sought more land than the horizon showed her with great kindness and love towards her friends and loved ones, from the only Pokémon trainers of the dynasty and the great guide of our little Heatran. Can you imagine Emma in Ava's uniform? She would look amazing!!!
A character like Martha would also suit her well, after seeing her participation in the Beauty and the Beast live action and now that I have accommodated Martha's presence and role in the story, Martha would definitely suit her well! Now with Martha's new changes, they make her a candidate for the honor of being played by Emma. Pretty good for a character I owe a lot xD
Tumblr media
Elizabeth Debicki: Olga Koroterna
What better role of an empress for someone who played the queen of the people? That's how it is! I speak of Elizabeth Debicki, who previously performed for the dearest Princess Diana. I haven't seen ALL of The crown, but for me she is the one to play the dearest Olga/mother-in-law of my friend Elgu xD.Also just watch it here! Olga's short hair and her crown would suit her perfectly!
In addition, she undoubtedly knows how to capture the pain and suffering of a woman in overwhelming situations that little by little destroy her.
Tumblr media
Sarah Jeffery: Kenia Gaspar (young age)
I like the interpretation of this actress, her experience with the character of Audrey in descendants, I think it would help her with the interpretation of Kenya in flashbacks, since let's say that she was...A difficult girl to deal with, especially with Olga... Acomfire already talked a little about it and little by little I leave crumbs of it.
Tumblr media
Michelle pfeiffer: Kenia Gaspar
Currently Kenya has not gone beyond mentions, technically we know nothing about her other than some things she has been involved in.I don't want to make spoilers, but if this actress is here it is because there is a specific role that makes me take her as an immediate candidate, it is a role of a character from a movie mentioned in this post. This character will be relevant later on, whether it is just a cameo, reference, flashback or full appearance is left to your speculation.
Tumblr media
Hunter Doohan: Stephen Koroterna
He has that air of naive, of a good boy, different and familiar with loved ones. The perfect emperor.
Tumblr media
Tom Holland: Pablo Gaspar (young age)
Just look at it! He is without a doubt Mew's apprentice, that innocence and hope for what the future holds fits perfectly in this actor I see this guy using the power to speak to the hearts of Pokémon and with a suitcase in hand to leave his toxic family and go see what fate has in store for him.I see the story of Pablo interpreted by Tom and without a doubt I believe that he is the chosen one of Mew.
Tumblr media
Robert Jack:Pablo Gaspar
After watching his great performance in the series "the last czars", I realize that he is a very good candidate for the first Gaspar of the dynasty.A nice guy, but with problems when it comes to talking about his performance and the acts he did while holding the office that God gave them.
No doubt he is already an expert for that character archetype.
Tumblr media
Luise Wolfram: Alix Koroterna
He already has experience with Alix, I can only say that xD
Tumblr media
Angelique Boyer: Lesly
Oh yes, the great traitor of the archestian religion. The woman who made the pure angel of Arceus fall into pain, anger, disobedience and imperfection for the sake of jewels and a new status. The woman who was once called a heroine, the one who fooled everyone and the girl who is blamed for Arceus being so disappointed with the human race.
No doubt Angelique Boyer is the one for Lesly, she already has experience with sexy bad girls. Just tell you that she acted to be Teresa in the telenovela of the same name(jewel of Mexican telenovelas). Without a doubt I think she is the best of all this cast.
And that's my great cast! There are still many characters missing but I think those are the ones worth talking about for now, also as I said I hardly know any actors so it makes it much more complicated the situation xD.
And you? What do you think of this cast that occurred to me in each shower? Any new option or suggestion? Do you have your imaginary cast for your own story? Show me what's on your mind!

Also you can’t just download Broken, you also need Coming Home and the other nine (ten?) shorter sequels to get the entire story!
The Broken Wings series is one of my BEST and I literally only barely finished the last update last year.
You will fall in love with every single member of that wacky family
-------------------------------------------------
YES! I saw the masterlist you have posted on here about the series.😊 I am very interested in it. It will probably be painful at times but I also know it always turns out alright. And I always find those poly relationships interesting. (I can't wrap my brain around how it works in real life but reading about it also sort of helps to understand, if that makes sense?)
I have this weird thing that I can't download too many stories at once because otherwise I feel too much pressure to read (as in, read faster because you need to finish all the books on your ereader NOW so you can read more books later.) 😑😑😑
Oh no that's totally fair, I get that.
And yes the angst especially in Broken and Coming Home is intense but pretty much after that, it's all just healing for everyone. More characters bring more in depth poly relationships, the bonus chapters include some closer looks at like-- how Bruce being asexual shapes his relationship not just with Alpha!Tony but also with Thor later on, how the Omegas (Bucky, Clint and Steve) really honestly keep the family together, the addition of non binary Omega!Loki is honestly just fantastic and watching Sam go from having a smaller role in the family to honestly sort of leading the whole thing? Incredible.
Plus the themes of healing for pretty much EVERYONE is so great. Like some of it is a little more obvious ie: Bucky and Tony and later on Loki and Clint and even Bruce once we learn his backstory, but alot of it is just about all these different people with different genders and biologies and sexualities finding a space where they fit and loving and being loved unconditionally.
And the stories build on one another so if you get to the fic when Loki arrives at the compound, the fic AFTER that picks up at wherever Loki would be at that point, whether they've made it to loving Tony yet or how their interactions with Bucky have changed and then the very next one will still reference them while focusing the spotlight on a different character. Its all just really beautiful.
The Broken Wings verse is definitely one of my all time best verses and it's always interesting for me personally to revisit the verse because "Broken" was one of the very first stories I ever wrote so my writing level definitely isn't as good as it is later and I definitely didn't have as firm a grasp on my Omegaverse dynamics or characterizations yet. But as you move through the series, the writing gets better, the characterizations get really beautiful and you can see where some of my now standard Omegaverse tropes/dynamics started out.
I'll be interested to know your thoughts as you read through it!

Opinion on the new Love and Thunder trailer? (p.s. that tattoo, brooo)
look, if something has thor front and centre i'm already going to be enjoying it considerably more than i enjoy almost anything else....that being said what we've seen so far has been a bit of a mess lmao it seems to have taken what worked in small doses (the humour, the wackiness, thor being a bit silly and poked fun at while still being a hero) and dialled it up so much there doesn't seem to be a lot of... film left. but hey, this is just the trailer trying to get butts in seats so maybe they are only selecting the broadest moments bc they think that's what ppl like.
the jane stuff is so boring to me like it literally drags the whole trailer down, portman is not an action star or particularly funny she just doesn't belong in a role like this (her arms look great tho). she was charming as a geeky, passionate scientist but this is just so the wrong fit for her, especially when tessa is right there so naturally doing it well and being under used bc of it. we should spend all this jane time establishing val as the female lead of the franchise and digging into the fact she was literally a slaver and presumably is still very lost in the world just like thor. i dont think repackaging thorjane as a big love story is particularly smart, when they wrote her off in the last film with an off hand comment and a gag. its just too little too late and there was so many other directions to take thor's story. also i'm just tired of thor thinking he's unworthy of the hammer and someone else taking it from him, can we just stop? pls?? we already decided thor outgrew mjolnir and it wasn't a real measurement of worthiness like 3 films ago.
gorr is getting the hela treatment of being a cool, dark villain trapped in a film that doesn't want to treat him as such. i can see him being underused and underexplained but i've enjoyed what we've seen so far. christian bale can rly do no wrong in my eyes even looking like voldemort's decomposing corpse. i like that he looks weird as fuck and they're not trying to make him any less bizarre. him and pattinson's bruce are on sperate ends of my ghoul boyfriend spectrum.
as for the tattoos.... on one hand my thorloki shipper heart is giddy w/ happiness they're acknowledging thor loves his brother and wants to honour him (i mean the loki show likes to pretend thor doesn't even exist). on the other, why did they have to make them look so shitty? would vain thor really get that on his beautiful god bod? did we really need to make that a gag too? would any other main marvel hero get a shitty back tat of their dead relative, like they would never have pulled that w/ steve or tony. it just seems like another way to undermine thor and i'm getting a little tired of it. his grief has just been one long joke when everyone else's was treated with such seriousness.

I just realized that the entirety of the Loki show could have happened without Loki. All the main plot points in the show were progressed by Sylvie. In fact they could have happened faster if Loki hadn't been there. I wish there was a show about Loki, I really do.
Tumblr media
Not only was the plot of the show driven by/revolve around Sylvie but yeah basically she would've been done in 3 episodes max

SERVANT DUTIES
Tumblr media
Summary: You are a personal servant for Loki who just so happen to walk in on the Prince in need of some comforting.
Warning: SMUT (18+ ONLY)
Pairing: Loki x Fem!Reader
I did not intend for this one shot to be so long but here we are, please let me know what you think :)
I have also posted on wattpad where I will continue to post more one shots if you enjoyed this one!
Being a personal servant to a member of the royal family was indeed a higher up role. The benefits were much better than those who just served the palace. You slept in a nicer quarters, your meals were nicer and hotter, and your clothes were usually a bit warmer than most. Very few got lucky enough to be in this position, and those who were not lucky were extremely envious. You truly did feel guilty for not being grateful for the role you’ve been given, but it was hard too when you were absolutely terrified of the man you were sworn to serve.
Ever so often when one of the servants becomes too old or too ill to continue with their services, a new one is picked. One of the servants girls had grown gravely ill a few weeks ago, and in turn another must step up to take her place. Those selected to serve a member of the royal family is hand picked by none other than the queen herself, no one knows why she chooses to do so when she could have literally any member of her court do it but she seems to take great joy in it and she is always kind.
You lined up with the other women who were chosen to be potential candidates. You were the youngest of them all, and in turn had been serving the palace for the least amount of time. But, you did work hard and it had not gone unnoticed. You weren’t trying to impress anyone, but you did not mind your job and the task kept your mind off other things that would haunt you when the day would reach its end.
Queen Frigga walked by each women, studying as if she could see into each one of their minds. Who knows, maybe she could, she was known for her incredible sorcery after all. She made her way down the line until she reach where you were standing. Her gaze studied you from you feet to your head, you swallowed hard once she met your eyes. She gave you a small smile then took your hand in hers. “What’s your name my dear?” She asked softly. You told her your name in nearly a whisper, heart pounding out of your chest.
“What a lovely name, come with me darling. The rest of your are dismissed, thank you for your time.” Frigga says never leaving your gaze, the other ladies bow and hurry off, more than likely afraid she would change her mind. Your feet subconsciously followed her, as she lead you to another room. Your head was spinning, not really grasping what happened. She had chose you, you aren’t really sure why and you wanted to be happy at this opportunity but your stomach felt like it was being twisted.
“I’ll have some of the other ladies show you your new quarters and give you a new uniform. Once you have settled in they will give you a list and walk you through any questions you may have.” she smiles and then makes her leave. You nod and bow goodbye to her, leaving you alone with another servant who had accompanied her.
She begins to walk you through the basics of everything, shows you your bed and your new uniform and gives you a list of things you’ll be doing. “The Prince’s quarters are down the main hall and on the left. Once you have changed make your way down there, no one has had a chance to freshen up his chambers yet, and he’s due to be back at any moment.” She explains. “Thank you, no one has told me which Prince I’ll be serving.” you say, terrified of the answer. You had heard the rumors, the whispers, the accusations. You prayed in your head for it to not be who you thought it was.
“Prince Loki.” she says, and turns on her heels to leave.
The last few weeks have not been bad. The Prince has not been cruel, he has actually been quite kind even though he has not spoken to you much. You still feared him, afraid of the day you make a mistake and he releases his wrath on you, but you hoped all those rumors were not true.
As you make your way to his chambers this evening to freshen up before he returns you notice the door ajar, you slowly make your way inside and all the lights are out. “Hello, Prince Loki? Are you in here?” you announce. You slowly walk further inside, your heart felt like it was going to beat out of your chest and your palms were starting to sweat.
You squint to look around, trying to be as quite as possible. That’s when you spot the Prince laying on one of the couches, he’s curled up in a fetal position and appears to be asleep. You approach slowly as not to wake up, you notice the empty pitcher of ale next to him and when you look at his face you swear you spot dried tears. You aren’t sure why seeing the Prince like this seemed to make your heart hurt a bit.
You tiptoed over to one of the chairs and grabbed a throw that was on top, you gently covered up the sleeping man feeling as if he needs his rest and you would stop by later to see if he needed anything. As you laid the blanket on his shoulders and began to pull away, a hand caught your wrist. You couldn’t hold back the audible gasp that escaped your lips.
“Your majesty, I am so sorry for disturbing you. I had just came by to freshen up, I will leave immediately. Please forgive me sire.” Your heart was racing, afraid of what was going to come next. This is it, he’s going to punish you or worse. Loki slowly opened his eyes and blinked a few times, his gaze turned to you and he stared at you with such intensity you thought you might combust right then and there.
He slowly began to sit up, not letting go of your wrist in the process. Once he was fully up he let you go and then tapped the seat beside him. “Please, sit for a moment.” he said calmly, your knees began to wobble a bit but you swallowed hard and did as he said, you didn’t dare look at him once you sat down.
“What’s your name girl?” he asked, you could feel his gaze directly on you and it made you feel like you were on fire. You choked out your name in a whisper, you tried to hide how scared you were but your voice betrayed you. You didn’t want to provoke him even further.
“Please relax, I’m not going to hurt you.” He says softly. You raised your head to look at him then, and that’s when you noticed his eyes were bloodshot and he had obvious dark circles under them. His hair which was normally sleeked back and perfect was clinging to his forehead and sides of his neck. Even like this he still looks regal, and you couldn’t help admire the way his tunic was clinging to his chest and outlining his muscles.
“Is there something you need sire?” You ask, trying to relax yourself. He shakes his head and leans back agains the couch, putting his hands in his lap. “Would you mind sitting with me for a bit?” he ask in such a low voice you would miss it if you weren’t listening fully. You nod, “Of course your majesty.” you give him a small smile, hoping it’s the right thing to do. He gives you a smirk back and you seem to let out a breath you were holding in.
You set like that in silence for about 10 minutes, you slowly begin to calm down and believing the Prince truly means not to harm you. He lays his head back on the couch and crossed his arms behind it and shutting his eyes. You don’t even realize you are staring until he smirks and opens one eye to you “Are you enjoying the view?” his voice is dripping in sarcasm and playfulness. You turn away quickly to try and hide the blush on your face.
“Do you enjoy your life here?” he ask, you turn to look at him taken back by the question. “W-why of course, your majesty.” you answer quickly, you’ve never been asked such a personal question by a member of the royal family. “What brought you here?” he ask, you aren’t sure why he is asking all these questions about your life. Surely he has much more important things to do than to get to know his servant.
“When I came of age my mother sent me here, my father had grown ill and could no longer work. She feared for my future and sent me to work at the palace in order to ensure I would have a place to stay and food to eat. If I may speak freely your highness, why do you ask?” you were honest with him, you weren’t sure what provoked you to tell him the truth about your life but no one had ever asked you that before either.
“I was simply wondering how such a beautiful women came to work as a servant” he says smoothly, your whole face turns red at his words. You look away from him to hide your blush, he moves closer to you on the couch and your stomach is doing flips. You tense up as he gets closer to you, his hand grabs your chin and moves your head to look at him. His touch is cold but it feels good against your hot skin.
He’s looking directly into your eyes, you’ve never been this close to him or any member of the royal family for that matter. You notice how pale his skin truly is, how defined his jaw line is and how there doesn’t seem to be a single blemish upon his face. His eyes are the greenest eyes you’ve ever seen and though his hair is messy at the moment it still looks incredibly soft.
His hand begins to stroke your cheek slowly, though your mind is telling you to run away your body gives into his touch and you seem to melt into it. “If I am overstepping, please do not hesitate to stop me.” he says softly, he’s giving you an out. You know you should take it, you have no idea what he’s about to do to you, nothing from whatever is about to happen could possibly turn out good, but your body seems to betray you and you lean into his touch even more.
His brings his other hand to your knee and moves closer. It’s like your in a trance that you can’t seem to break out of, you haven’t taken your eyes off his the whole time. The hand on your cheek is still slowly stroking your face and then he moves his thumb and grazes it over your bottom lip, and at the same time his other hand starts making its way up your thigh. Your shudder under his touch and he seemed to notice as his lips turn into a half smirk.
“You are so beautiful darling” he speaks softly and the words seem to shoot straight to your core. You don’t know why you are even allowing this, this is so wrong, so inappropriate, but it’s like your mind and your body on two completely different realms at the moment.
He leans in closer and your breath hitches, in an instant his lips are on yours and you lose all logical thinking. His lips are cold but his breath is hot and he taste so good, his tongue finds the inside of your mouth and you suppress the moan that almost escapes you. His hands move to your waist and in an instant you are on top and straddling him, his lips never leaving yours.
You grind against him and feel his hard erection against you and another wave of heat gathers in your core. Your hand makes it way to his hair and it’s just as soft as you pictured it, without thinking you give a small tug to one of his strands and he moans slightly under you. You can’t repress the smile that plays on the corner of your lips, the thought of you making a Prince moan under your touch makes you even more wet.
His hands are exploring every part of your body, your dress has been hiked up around your hips but it’s in the way of every part of you that is longing to be touched by him. As if he read your mind, he rips your dress off of you and throws it to the side. His hands immediately go to your breast and begin massaging them, his fingers slightly pinching your sensitive nipples and causing a moan to escape your lips.
His mouth moves from your lips to your jaw, then your neck and he sucks and bites at just the right spot causing you to squirm, he makes his way even further down until one breast is in his mouth while the other is still being sweetly tortured by his hand. Your head slightly falls back in pleasure, you’re still grinding against him and the friction is sending bolts of electricity through your whole body.
In the matter of mere seconds you are flipped onto your back and Loki is above you. His eyes are dark and just the look he is giving you makes you wet. He reaches down between the two of you and removes your underwear, and in and instant his fingers are in between your folds and you moan far louder than you are proud of.
He chuckles and touches your swollen nub, sending another bolt of pleasure through your body. Your arch your back in response and your arms move to his shoulders as you sink your nails into them, he lets out a growl from deep within his chest. In a flash his clothes are gone, and his bare chest is laid upon yours. His skin is cool and smooth, you peak down and catch sight of how toned his body is. His muscles are if they were carved within his skin, you peer down further and catch sight of his swollen cock and your eyes widen.
He was much bigger than you anticipated, and though you had been with men before, none of them had compared to this. He seemed to have caught you staring and chuckled slightly, your eyes shot back up to him and then his lips met yours again. He began to position himself at your entrance and you held in a breath as the tip met your slit.
He slowly thrust into you and buries himself to the hilt, your eyes roll back into your head and you both groan as he fills you up. He begins pulling in and out and a painfully slow rate but it takes no time before he is pounding into you, causing moans and gasp each time he hits the perfect spot.
“Loki..” you cry out, he seemed to be taken back for a moment when you don’t address him formally and for a moment fear runs through your body but it’s quick lived and he begins to thrust in you even harder.
Your whole body feels like it’s on fire despite how cool his skin is, the pleasure building in your stomach grows quick and he takes notice when your breaths become ragged. “Go ahead darling, you’re being such a good girl.” He whispers in your ear as he kisses on your neck, and that pushes you right over the edge into oblivion.
Your whole body trembles with pleasure as you orgasm around him, you swear you saw stars and you cry out his name once more. A few moments later his rhythm falters and he spills inside of you with a load gasp and that alone almost brings you to another orgasm. After a few moments of both of you catching your breath Loki falls limp on top of you, he wraps his arms around your waist and pulls out of you and lays you next to him.
Once you’ve come down from your high the reality of it all hits you like a ton of bricks and you instantly tense under his grasp, he turns towards you and his eyes are soft, you were expecting him to be angry and demand you to leave immediately. He nuzzles his face in your neck, “I apologize for interrupting your duties my dear” the pet name he uses sends chills down your body but you quickly pull yourself back into reality and begin to set up and look around for your discarded clothing.
He grabs your shoulder before you can stand and you turn back towards him. “Please…stay.” he says it so softly you almost didn’t hear him. You swallow hard and nod and lay back down beside him, he immediately wraps his arms around you and pulls you to his chest, resting his chin atop your head and gives it a small kiss.
You couldn’t help the little flip your heart did in that moment.

The more I think about it, the more I think our two dumb idiots are going to have a hard time finding their way back to each other in season 2.
Even if they're reunited relatively quickly (please!) I don't necessarily see them running back into each other's arms right away and ripping each other's clothes off (Disney not withstanding, you know what I mean).
S1 was all about Sylvie not being able to trust, I think S2 is going to be Loki having to learn to trust Sylvie again the way he did before. Even though he'll understand why she did what she did and still obviously cares a great deal for her, understanding why someone did something that hurt you, forgiving them for it, and choosing to still love them doesn't mean you automatically still trust them fully again.
I think S2 finale is going to see a bit of a role reversal, where Loki is going to have to be the one who has to trust again after previously trusting someone ended badly*. But not only do I think he'll overcome it, I think it's what's going to actually help them both win.
I hesitate to even put this out there, given what we know about some creative properties steering away from outcomes just because fans theorize super close to their original plan, but hey, having next to no followers has it's perks, right? 😉
Anyway, I think them both learning to trust, and to trust themselves and each other at the same time is going to be the Nexus event to end all Nexus events. THAT is what will break the reality so much the TVA can't recover from it.
I think Kang was half-lying and half telling the truth. He did want to retire/die, but he also wanted to preserve his legacy, his preferred flow of time, and he thought he could manipulate one or two Lokis into doing it by offering two of them who'd met and cared for each other this false choice. He thought either Loki would kill Sylvie and rule the timeline, after all, betraying loved ones for power wasn't new for that variant, or Sylvie would kill Loki and Kang in her quest for revenge and liberation, which would probably only lead to Ravonna or another TVA high up taking his place. Both outcomes would continue to ensure his preferred flow of time because Loki's betraying people (even ones they love) and not trusting people (even ones they love) is what Lokis do.
Both of them choosing to be vulnerable with themselves and each other, to embrace THAT uncertainty and chaos (both internal and external) at the same time is a truly different path for the both of them. Also that's just poetic storytelling, emotional chaos manifesting physical chaos!
Not only is it super romantic (choosing to love can save the multiverse, literally!) but it's a powerful message on how breaking destructive trauma cycles literally changes the story. And it's a message that works on a revolutionary level too. When faced with one of the most classic of dictator tactics - to divide and conquer, gaslight, and sow distrust, even of one's own lived experiences and very reality - what's more radical than rejecting the doubt, choosing to trust again, and teaming up to fight back?
Anyway, that's my thoughts for now. I could be, and probably am, very, very wrong. Tl;dr, I am very excited for Loki Season 2, and am feeling very thoughtful on this end of 2021. Happy New Year, fellow Sylki fans
*note, while I very much empathize with Sylvie and her response, there's no changing that she's one of the first people Loki trusts after a long, long time, and it ends badly. I don't think he views it as a betrayal, but I do think it will slow things down between them because emotions are hard and healing isn't always a straight path.

*insert Mushu “I live” gif*
Ok, so I finally watched Loki and I loved it. Loki and Quicksilver are my fav characters and I was really, really mad at Marvel for what they did to my boy Quickie, but I’m still holding out hope that they somehow fix that at some point. I mean, hello, variants? That thing officially exists now.
Luckily Loki seems to be more favored by Feige/Marvel and seems like we’re gonna see lots more of him. Season 2 and possibly even MoM. Season 2 is old news as there were already reports of it actually happening last year, and this year in January Deadline confirmed S2 of Loki with Michael Waldron returning. But I was holding out hope for Loki making an appearance in MoM (I want to see Strange interact with Loki again) and it seems like there’s a good chance of this actually happening.
Anyway, some thoughts about the show:
- I loved the show’s cinematography. It didn’t feel like a tv show at all
- Soundtrack is just *chefs kiss*
- TVA Loki my beloved. I honestly think TVA Loki might be my favorite version of Tom’s Loki so far. This show finally gave us the opportunity to really delve deeper into Loki, who he is as a person, how does he form relationships with people outside his family. It was just so fun to see different sides of him, like making a friend, falling in love? I never thought I’d ever see that. Especially not after IW
- Really liked his reaction to watching his ‘greatest hits’ and realizing his family actually loved him. Loki was always kind of a softie who genuinely cared about his family and seeing his parents’ (and his own) deaths was so emotional
- Infinity Stones being used as paperweights for the TVA will never not be funny. It broke my mind and sent me into existential crisis just as it did with Loki.
- Loki needs to give Casey a fish at some point. Or take him to an aquarium.
- Mobius needs his jet ski in season 2. I also want to know more about Mobius and his backstory. What was his Nexus event, does he have a family, what is his real name?
- I really liked his friendship with Loki and the fact that he’s canonically Loki’s first real friend. Loki needed a friend (the W3 and Sif were never really his friends, Loki just tagged along I guess) and I’m happy he finally has one
- I need to find out more about B-15, who she was, her real name...Wunmi absolutely killed it during “I looked happy.” scene. God, that bit broke me
- Ravonna was sus to me from the start and she’s also one of the characters I want them to explore more. Especially now since Kang and his variants are also involved.
- Sylvie is probably my favorite new character introduced. I knew Sophia’s gonna play Sylvie and she’s gonna have a large role, but damn I didn’t expect to love this character as much as I do. There’s so much more left of her to be explored and I think her arc in season 2 will be amazing
- I saw that Loki/Sylvie romance coming the moment Lamentis episode ended. There were so many hints in that episode, I’m actually surprised so many people viewed them as having a sibling type of dynamic.
- I know that their love story is not a typical straightforward romance, but also serves as a metaphor for self love, but I found the idea of Loki falling in love with someone who is an au version of him, but also isn’t him both interesting and hilarious. Also, it was adorable especially that blanket scene in the void. There’s just something adorable about Loki being a complete softie for someone else. You know what, I’m rooting for them. I hope they get their happy ending, they deserve it.
- Literally every character in this show deserves their happy ending. Like, just the idea of the variants not knowing who they are, being brainwashed and forced to work for this organisation...*happy endings for everyone please*
- Majors’ variant of Kang, aka He Who Remains was everything and is right behind Sylvie as my new favorite character. The guy absolutely killed it and I need more of him and his (many) characters/variants right now. Plus I would’t mind if we see this particular version of He Who Remains again.
- The way they made Loki come out as bi was also so well done and I’m so happy they acknowledged that. Disney is notoriously bad with LGBT+ representation so the fact that the creators of the show managed to put that in was everything. I heard the director was fighting real hard for that to be made canon and I appreciate her effort.
- We were shown more of Loki’s abilities. It was about damn time.
- Alligator Loki is the baby Yoda of the marvel verse. I loved the theory that there’s an universe in which Alligator Loki was adopted by Crocodile Odin.
- Classic Loki.....Richard E Grant stole that episode. God, I wouldn’t mind an episode that focuses strictly on Classic Loki, he was just such a great character and he broke my heart
- I wonder if Kid Loki will travel to the main timeline and join the Young Avengers at some point
- THROG
- I really liked how they established that variants are basically their own people. Their own beings, they each have their own backstories, autonomy, clear differences that make them THEM. They aren’t copies, they’re individuals. And that they aren’t genetically related, but that they share the same soul and role in their universes (basically temporal aura) because that will also clear up some confusion with upcoming multiverse movies, for example Spiderman
- I suppose Loki confirms that all Peter Parkers in NWH are basically variants of Peter Parker, but just like Lokis, they aren’t the same, which explains why they all look different and why they also have different aunts and families. It’s not DNA that makes someone a variant of a certain being, it’s a soul. A role.
- I really hope that that one rumour of various Stephens in MoM actually turns out to be true.
- Strange is gonna kill Loki and Sylvie
- Which brings me to the last take:
- Ralph is totally Peter. I am clowning yes, but lemme have this.
Overall, I really liked the show. I loved it in fact. It was really character driven and didn’t focus much on action, which is a plus for me, because I rather watch characters talk and interact with each other than action sequences.
The bad thing is that now I’l have to wait at least 2 years to see what happens next. And I’m curious if there’ll be a bit of a time jump between both seasons.

All right the English major in me is coming out to bat, and I can hold it in no longer because my whole darn Honors thesis is on Shakespeare.
So while acknowledging that this is all speculation bc we can't actually know unless Tom and Owen tell us what's up, here's my two cents on the weird Two Gentlemen of Verona thing Tom and Owen evidently have going on.
First of all, y'all should know that it's Hella Weird that this is the play that Owen can quote the first line of. And the reason is that it's Shakespeare's literal worst play. Like not even kidding it's so bad. It's an important play for Shakespeare scholars bc it's his first play, and in it you can see the precursors to his later, much better works like Romeo and Juliet. A sandbox of sorts. But especially in comparison to the rest of his work, it's Really Bad. And because of this, it's not very well known at all, and my Shakespeare professor actively recommended that we not read it for our optional comedy to study.
Let me break it down for y'all.
Basic plot is you've got Valentine and Proteus who have a very homoerotic relationship (if you recall Owen quoting the first line, it's literally Valentine saying "cease to persuade, loving Proteus") but one which is Toxic As Hell, for which Proteus is at fault, stemming from some intense internalized homophobia imo. Valentine leaves Verona, inviting Proteus to come with him, but Proteus is too busy with his fiancée Julia and says no. So off Valentine goes, and he meets the beautiful Silvia and falls in love with her instantly, as you do, but her dad doesn't like it much. Proteus decides he misses his Bro and ditches Julia to go after him. Upon finding Valentine with Silvia, he gets pissed and decides he wants Silvia for himself (tho you could argue this is out of internalized homophobia fueled jealousy) and purposefully gets Silvia's dad to banish Valentine. Sucks to be Proteus tho bc Silvia is Not into him and says as much to a disguised Julia who's followed her deadbeat fiancé and found him with this other girl. Silvia loves Valentine tho so she goes off with Proteus and disguised Julia to go find him where he was banished. Proteus doesn't like this tho and right before they find Valentine, he tries to force himself on her. Thankfully he's stopped by Valentine, but there's a really weird line where Valentine either says "whatever if you want her that bad take her" or "all the love I have for her is yours" depending on how you read it. Either way, it's not great bc it glosses over the whole non-con issue from like 2 minutes ago, Julia also reveals herself and then they go "oh yay we're all here now let's get married" and then Valentine ends up with Silvia and Proteus ends up with Julia.
And like, people have mentioned before that you could technically draw a parallel with Sylvie and Silvia bc their names are similar, and that it's kinda like Loki and Mobius bc Valentine leaves Proteus to go after Silvia, and there's the homoerotic implications for Lokius, but really that's where the similarities stop, and comparing Mobius to Proteus is just an insult to Mobius' character tbh.
If we're gonna draw Shakespeare parallels, we could make a much more compelling argument with Twelfth Night (the m/f twin connection is right there) or even Hamlet or Much Ado About Nothing than with Two Gentlemen, so it doesn't make much sense for Tom and Owen to have this inside joke directly related to the Loki series.
And not only is the play deeply problematic as I've illustrated above, it's also poorly written. It's a bad play y'all. That's why nobody knows it. So there is No Way that of all the Shakespeare plays to want to do, Owen Wilson, who has himself said that he has no real familiarity with the Bard other than a college Shakespeare class, would pick Two Gentlemen as his dream Shakespeare production. It makes exactly zero sense whatsoever. (He'd be much, much more suited for a role like Benedick in Much Ado imo)
We do know, however, that Owen is excellent at improvising and likes joking around and messing with people. So I imagine that rather than being a secret lokius joke, it came into being by way of an interaction along these lines:
Tom: So have you ever played Hamlet?
Owen, shook and kinda laughing: Nah, it's not really my typecast so I've never had the opportunity.
Tom, wanting to be encouraging: Aw I'm sure you'd be great in the role! Though I am curious, if you were to be in any Shakespeare play, what would it be?
Owen, wracking his brain for buried play titles from college like thirty years ago: uhhh Two Gentlemen of Verona, maybe???????
Tom, a Shakespeare nerd who knows the play, suddenly Very concerned but polite: oh,,,, is that so?
Owen, noticing the confusion but deciding it'll be funnier to roll with it: yeah I think it's a really compelling story. One of Shakespeare's finest works if you ask me.
Tom, visibly shaking and in a cold sweat: r-really?,,,??,
Owen, busting up laughing: sskdjskksk no not at all! I know like nothing about Shakespeare, cmon. I was Lightning McQueen! I just vaguely remember reading that play in college.
Tom, sighing in relief: oh thank God I was so worried. That's the worst one!
Owen, amused: is it?
Tom, going into professor mode: well you see--
And so it probably became like a "I'm pretending to be pretentious and cultured" sort of inside joke that played a part in their bonding as coworkers and snuck its way into the documentary bc they thought it'd be funny, and they were right. Tbh the way they talked about it sounded a lot like my and my friends riffing on plays in my Shakespeare class, so I'm inclined to believe that that's what they're doing here.

... All right, let’s do this.
Under the cut bc there’s SO MANY images, and I’m sorry, and I know the cut is worthless to mobile users but, well, here we are. Please don’t unfollow me for this post specifically.
Tumblr media
^^ I can’t decide if this woman holding the Tesseract is impressive or not bc, I mean, she’s wearing a glove - but, Red Skull probably was, too? Also the TVA are obviously not humans, so “impressive” may be generous. On the other hand, “only beings of enormous power” can wield the Tesseract/infinity stones, so.
Loki looks pissed.
Tumblr media
“I know what this place is.” I like this, bc it provides us with some narrative evidence that Loki has always known much more about the universe and How Things Work than anyone cared to realize. Loki’s always known what’s going on; that he isn’t ignorant to the existence or inner functions of the TVA feels in-character.
Tumblr media
Inception!
Lokiception!
Tumblr media
Why does every shot of the TVA’s headquarters look like the inside of a poorly-lit DMV? Though I guess it fits with the “timelessness” of it all as, after all, time ceases to exist or have meaning once you enter the DMV.
Tumblr media
But I digress.
Tumblr media
I’ve already remarked on the “I’m smart” comment, but I do like this shot.
Tumblr media
I really love what Loki’s hair is doing here, I don’t even care. For better or for worse, his hair’s doing it’s own all-natural thing and I dig it. Let it move, let it dance, let it fall into his face and obscure his features as fanfic has allowed so many times.
Tumblr media
I’m not a fan of the exaggerated jump or “wtf” expression along with “this is absurd” but THIS moment? Classic Loki. He looks 500% done and we’re only 51 seconds in. Also, I refuse to believe that stack of papers is everything Loki’s ever said. I know we all complained about the “you love to talk” line but, I mean, certainly he’s said more than approximately the total sum of Ulysses in his 1000 years of existence.
Tumblr media
Here’s what I want to know:
1. How does Loki taking the Tesseract result in so many new timeline branches? Surely he’s only responsible for one new timeline? I really, really hope they address that this is all the Avengers’ fault.
2. What timeline is WandaVision and TFatWS taking place in? The main one, I presume? How do we know it’s not one of these alternate ones?
3. Which timeline is Agents of SHIELD in and will they be addressed? Bc they got up to all kinds of Time Shenanigans in seasons 5, 6, and 7 to the point where I’m pretty sure they split off into their own universe (which is why they weren’t affected by the Snap or that whole thing, or so I’ve heard). If Loki crosses paths with Coulson & crew, I may pee my pants.
4. So where does Jessica Jo - ah, forget it, I’m not even going to ask.
Tumblr media
I wonder what it is about this “unique Loki perspective” that Mobius is interested in recruiting. (Incidentally, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Owen Wilson in, like, a real role - wherein he’s not playing some version of Owen Wilson, that is. He’s got a costume and everything here. Fun to see!)
Tumblr media
This is a bamf shot, okay. The way it’s framed is pretty intimidating.
Tumblr media
“You listen well, brother -”
“I’m listening.”
^^ I figured out what kind of energy this moment has, lmao.
Tumblr media
“It’s adorable that you think you can manipulate me.” I mean, do I even have to comment? I am here for narratively validating the “Loki is ten steps ahead” (heh, and I quote) canon. Here’s another place where I feel like Tom was involved, since I’m pretty sure that somewhere, he’s literally said “Loki’s always ten steps ahead of everyone else.”
That said, I’m not crazy about the delivery of this line; the over-confident tone of it smacks of “here’s someone about to get knocked the fuck off their pedestal” and I’m not here for that.
That said, these next scenes -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- not only show Loki with the upper hand but, also, it’s clear that Loki goes rogue at some point, possibly early on, and I do like that. Drag me if you will, but I want to see Loki scheming and being manipulative, in his own interests.
I think that Loki being the protagonist will allow them to portray his manipulation in a way that the audience is on his side. I don’t think that the TVA is being framed as the “reliable narrator” through which the audience should view Loki, or “good guys” at all; I think that maybe they’re not evil, but there’s probably a lot of morally-grey shenanigans and goings-on.
I also think Loki is capable of outwitting them; Loki, being ten steps ahead, has probably figured out something that the TVA has not even thought of yet, so he’s going to fix things his own way, according to his own plan. And I want to see that, because I think that this will give the narrative room to really explore both how Loki thinks and what he does when his plans go awry (as I’m sure they’re bound to do); like, how will he fix it and still remain on top in the end?
So, I mean, I’m pretty intrigued (and still cautiously optimistic).
Lots of action shots happening, I won’t add even more images to this post, but this magic is still giving me life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What is this, a food court? (Speaking of which , what’s up with all the action in the mall earlier?)
“I’ve studied almost every moment of your life”
Tumblr media
(^^ Missed opportunity)
“and you’ve literally stabbed people in the back like 50 times.”
Tumblr media
Receipts or it didn’t happen, and that’s all I’m gonna say about that line right now.
Tumblr media
Thanks, I hate it. This is all wrong, this whole thing - just awful, scrap it, toss it out. Tom, I love you, but this was the wrong delivery and an all-around bad acting decision. It’s too over-the-top, too earnestly “well I never!”, too comical (as in, feels like it belongs in a comic with a speech bubble as opposed to funny).
Once more, with feeling. From the top!
Tumblr media
I like that we get to see Loki doing a wardrobe change, as I don’t think we’ve gotten to see that before. He always just shows up in a new outfit or illusions one on.
Tumblr media
That’s one ugly ass outfit, but you make it look passable, Loki. You’re beautiful, in case no one’s told you that today.
The remaining shots are very visually pleasing and action-y and I dig them, except the volcano one (stop posing with your arms outstretched every five seconds, Loki, it’s kinda cringe. In the above still, it works; in front of a volcano, it’s just tonally off. I say this with love, don’t @ me).
Overall, I think I maintain my 7/10 rating. I think that the trailer hints at a lot of potential in the story that I will enjoy seeing, and I think that the nature of it being a trailer means that it’s a little tonally hyperbolic (this is kinda the format for Disney shit; show the flashy bits, the funny (”funny”) bits, to draw in the casual viewer. Save the story bits for the show. (Case in point: there’s a lot of great material in TFatWS that happened just before or after the one-liners shown in the trailer.)
So, yes. Sorry this is such a mammoth post, I just needed to explode my feels. If you think the trailer’s awesome, kudos and I love you. If you’re disappointed and upset, I’m sorry and I love you. If you’re hovering in the middle, still in cautiously optimistic territory, pull up a seat and have some popcorn with me.
That is all.

The time cell loop and its meanings
Ok, so I was seeing Loki again and now that I saw it for the second time I realized that in truth Loki's relationship with Sylvie was not written to be a couple, but Loki doing for her what Mobius and Thor (in the movies later, not the relationship they have before Loki was taken over by TVA), but above all Mobius did for him. They are written even if you like as a platonic romantic couple. In all this process of Loki accepting what he really wants and needs, we have him developing a relationship with Mobius, with whom he feels accepted, he sleeps in front of him (not like Sylvie) and they have a body language that we see develop (with crossed arms sitting far away at the table and then with their legs open and their legs between each other under the table). This changes when Mobius feels betrayed, but not only because Loki was "a bad friend", but because he thought they had something and was filled with jealousy when he thought he had left him for Sylvie.
During all of episode 4 Mobius and Ravonna say that they DO NOT KNOW what caused the Nexus Event, but during the interrogation Mobius speaks not from his role as an agent, but from his own person, from his jealousy, anger and grief, with a broken heart he tells Loki that he cannot be trusted because he betrays people and is unnecessarily hurtful in saying that what he asumes happen between Loki and Sylvie is twisted and egotistical. What he assumes is the Nexus Event, which not only breaks the reality of the Sacred Timeline, but " is breaking my reality right now. " So, when Loki tells him that of all the TVA lies the biggest one is the one Mobius tells himself it takes on a double meaning. Now, and here is the other important thing: Mobius choose a memory for the loop that will serve as a catharsis against Loki, where he can express what he feels, but without having him say it, and what is that memory? when Lady Sif hits him and tells him that he is a shit and that will always be alone. Context? Loki cuts his hair to get the attention of Lady Sif for fear that she will leave him, but also not knowing how to process the possibility of having a relationship with her. Lady Sif and Loki had been in a relationship at the time (this was confirmed by the actress) and so Lady Sif was particularly hurt by Loki's imbecility. Mobius chose THIS moment knowing the whole story behind. Lady Sif represents Mobius, the pain and feeling of betrayal caused by Loki, a mockery of his and her love. The first thing Mobius says to Loki when he takes him out of the time cell loop? That if he really believes that he, Loki, deserves to be alone. He also says that he doesn't really know what caused the Nexus Event in Lamentis 1, so he was just speaking out of jealousy. But what caused it? Loki and Sylvie opening up, Loki telling Sylvie that she is great, very good with magic, intelligent and strong, attributes that are generally pointed out in a negative light against Lokis, but not by Mobius or Thor with their Loki. In fact, what caused Sylvie's Nexus Event was that she did not go down the path of misery, sadness and destructive chaos assigned to the Lokis; We see her as a child playing with a Valkyrie (who represents the good, the heroic) fighting a dragon (the bad, the destruction, the devil) thus avoiding the apocalypse, her apocalypse because we also see a Nordic ship to reinforce what is being plamting here, and the scene is completed with a wolf that is Fenrir, son of Loki who is supposed to be one of those responsible for Ragnarok but will no gonna win in Sylvie's game thanks to the valkyrie. Sylvie was rejecting everything negative about Loki and being taken by the TVA and escaping literally returns to that logic to some extent, that's why she lives in apocalypses and kills He Who Remains, but before that she has the moment with Loki in Lamentis, a small space where she is not driven by her pain, trauma and injustices in a destructive way.
Going back to Mobius; Later we will see the famous framing of Loki and Mobius hugging where we clearly see the sword and before this, we see Mobius passing his daggers to Loki in the locker room. Love is a dagger and the closest relationship to romantic couple love is Lokius, and if Mavel and Disney weren't some leech fascist bastards they could have maintained the narrative line between the three characters that were at play in all the first 5 episodes, and even camouflaged a polyamorous relationship between the three. ; Loki and Sylvie in love with Mobius and Mobius with them, but not Sylvie with Loki. But that is and that is what she had to say. Now I'll wait for the fics and the fan art.
EDIT: When I say polyamorous relationship it is not necessarily in the standard dynamics of girl/boyfriends or marriage in a traditional loving sex-affective relationship narrative, polyamory has various dibamics and types of relationships and interactions. Due to the cognotation that the term "amorous" usually generates in people, I personally prefer to call it polyaffective (since you do not necessarily have to be in love with all or some of the people with whom you generate this group or relationship), but I don't know if it is something in the polyamorous community. I point this out due to a tag that someone put, in order to clarify something that this person pointed out and also make my opinion more clear. So, yes, could be polyam even if is a platonic thing between Lokius and Sylvie :)

an obligatory analysis of sylvie’s character (aka: who betrayed who?)
in case you can’t tell, i like sylvie. but here’s a big fuckin post where i share my thoughts on her role in the finale in a sort of disjointed kind of way.
NOTE: this isn’t about sylki. i don’t ship it personally, but that isn’t really relevant to this at all. this also doesn’t go into the criticisms i have of the show because this isn’t really the place for that. maybe i can do that later, whatever.
also, this is gonna be a long post. i have a lot of thoughts.
sylvie’s introduction and motivations
Tumblr media
one of the first things we learn about sylvie is her opposition to the tva. (okay, it’s literally the first thing, whatever.) in episode 3, we get to see her entire plan - overthrow whoever’s running the tva, and... that’s it. loki questions her about the power vacuum that would leave, to which she shows that she’s not interested in running the tva. (this is also stated in ep 2.) her goals are clear. she wants rid of the entire organisation, and doesn’t care about or want the sort of power that would come with pulling the strings.
her reasoning for this seems pretty simple. she doesn’t want the power ruling the tva would entail because she knows what it’s like to be on the other end of that deal. she had everything taken from her as a child, and doesn’t want that to happen to anybody else. she believes that that kind of power belongs to nobody, not even herself.
this easily establishes her as a character who, despite having an ego, has principles that trump everything else. she’s very dedicated to her cause; the ‘never at the expense of the mission’ line in ep 3 just states it out loud. her entire life has been dedicated to this cause. this is a good time to segue into the next section...
sylvie’s personality, character and flaws
Tumblr media
she’s fuckin stabby.
despite only really being present for 4 out of the 6 episodes of the show, we manage to get a pretty good idea of sylvie’s personality right from the start thanks to episode 3 being largely a character study with both her and loki. she’s shown as a very competent and strong character - however, contrary to marvel’s guidebook on writing female characters, those aren’t personality traits. what we actually see of her is that she’s very confident, and has a tendency to be rude or dismissive of other people. episode 3 has a bunch of examples of this, but the easiest one to point to is the fireworks scene. after loki does something nice to cheer her up, something which visibly works, her response is to waive it away as ‘not bad’.
her coldness in this scene even after bonding with loki is likely due to her upbringing. sylvie spent the majority of her life, including her childhood, on the run, unable to form relationships with people who weren’t moments away from dying. it feels a bit redundant for me to point this out, but this is, as they say in the medical field, mega fucking traumatic. not only did sylvie not have the opportunity to form these kinds of connections, she couldn’t even develop the ability to form them. loki is a bandaid to cover a bullet hole in this regard, one she needs years to heal from. while she does bond with him to an extent, she is physically unable to trust him to the point where they can be considered close.
another thing we learn about sylvie is that she’s very violent - and that she enjoys it. being a character that grew up running from an organisation that wanted her dead, it makes sense for her first instinct to be confrontational. however, despite having to fight to survive, she visibly takes pleasure from fighting. this was brought up in an interview with sophia (that i am not going to link here, because tumblr is kind of a hellsite and i’m not in the mood for that today). here’s a nice extract instead.
“She's not trained like Loki is,” Di Martino continues. “She can't do some of the flourishes that he would, but she's figured out how to brawl. She's a street fighter and she loves it. That was a really great key to unlocking part of Sylvie for me, was how much she just loves a fight. She knows that she's either going to win, or if she isn't going to win, she'll survive. She's that damaged character who's dangerous because she knows she can survive.”
her tendency towards violence is actually a key part of sylvie’s character. this works as both a strength and a flaw. on the one hand, she’s able to survive scrapes most other characters wouldn’t, and she knows that. she’s not one to freeze in most (note: most) scenarios, because she knows what to expect. on the other hand, violence isn’t always the answer, and she’s very unlikely to consider any other option than a fight.
her enchantment abilities tie into this - they’re another weapon for her to use, and one she’s not afraid to call on. however, her eagerness to enchant people without hesitation puts her in a pretty bad place morally. her enchantment clearly leaves hunter c-20 traumatised, and yet she’s more than willing to enchant people for the sake of the mission. she’s also relatively dismissive of human sentient lives. an early example of this is in episode 2, where loki asks her if the person she had enchanted was dead, to which she responds with a casual ‘they usually survive’. additionally, she’s more than willing to fight the guards on the train in episode 3, despite them seeing her as a threat for completely understandable reasons.
in the case of the guards, her reasoning for placing such little value on their lives is likely that they’re about to die anyways. everyone on lamentis is doomed, so from her point of view, whether they die at her hands or at the hands of the moon from majora’s mask isn’t really important. however, c-20 is a different story. sylvie places next to no value on the lives of the tva’s workers, content to slaughter them en masse for the sake of her goal. this is despite her knowing that every one of the tva workers is a variant plucked from the sacred timeline. this sets up a weird sort of transactional nature in how sylvie views other people - to her, they’re less important than the mission, and she doesn’t hesitate to eliminate threats.
was this a long section? this was a long section. i would like to call back to the fact that this is not a sylki post for this next part. and also to praise anyone that got this far, because fucking hell, is this excessively long or what? who would have the time to write this out?
sylvie’s bond with loki
Tumblr media
i want to go back to that whole thing about her relationship with loki. he’s the first person she’s really spoken to since she was a child who isn’t about to face imminent death. furthermore, despite their differences, they have quite a lot in common - enough to hit it off surprising well for two people who kind of want to kill each other. they’re able to relate on common ground like frigga, and even though they clash due to loki’s initial carelessness, they’re overall able to get along well enough aside from occasional bickering. the blanket scene from episode 5 is probably the best example of this. sylvie allows herself, albeit briefly, to be vulnerable around loki.
except, not really. one of the first things she does is tries to ensure he won’t betray her. i’ve seen somebody cite this before as proof that her fondness towards him isn’t real, and that she was planning on betraying him from the start, hence why it was on her mind. that’s definitely possible, but i think it’s far more likely that it’s just her difficulties connecting to people stopping her from feeling safe around him even as they share a nice moment. she really does seem to care about loki - an easy example of this is her asking how he is during episode 4 without being prompted. she’s just unable to properly process these kinds of feelings due to an incomprehensible amount of trauma. as loki puts it, she can’t trust.
and loki can’t be trusted. she knows - or at least, thinks she knows - his nature as a trickster and a villain. loki embodies a part of sylvie that she considers herself completely separate from; the tva-approved liar whose purpose is to bring out the best in others. while she does show him more decency than to treat him like that, at the end of the day, he represents something that makes her deeply uncomfortable, hence her rejection of the loki name. despite what they have in common, loki is an incredibly difficult person to trust, especially for somebody who has deep-rooted trust issues. so, this brings us onto...
who betrayed who?
Tumblr media
so, sylvie and loki make it to kang’s castle. after all this time, she’s finally about to reach her life’s goal. she’s clearly nervous - this is out of her comfort zone, unlike most fights. loki reassures her, and they head in. they meet kang, learn the true nature of the tva, have the opportunity to kill him...
and loki stops her.
loki’s motivations are left ambiguous. the uncharitable interpretation is that he wants to rule the tva for himself, as per kang’s offer. he’s expressed such an interest to sylvie before. for the loki we know in avengers 1, this seems perfectly in character.
however, for the loki we’ve seen in the show, there’s a different option. he believes kang’s threat that there are multiple of him, and that killing him won’t solve anything. to him, he isn’t willing to risk unknown horrors for the sake of taking his revenge out on kang. this is the loki who offered diplomacy and guile to counteract sylvie’s brute force.
but sylvie, who can’t trust, assumes the worst.
to her, loki was the one who betrayed her. they had a plan - find whoever pulls the strings, and destroy them. to her, loki’s hesitation isn’t caution, but treachery. taking kang’s offer to rule the tva is exactly what she thinks she should’ve expected from the guy who hurts everybody who loves him. her fight or flight responses kick in, and she chooses the one she always chooses. loki’s attempts to reassure her fall on deaf ears, not just because she doesn’t want to trust him, but because she’s physically incapable of it. she makes the short-sighted decision of brute force, just like she did back on lamentis, because it’s all she’s ever known, and the cause she’s dedicated her life to.
from the outside, it looks like sylvie was the one who betrayed loki, but things look pretty different from where she’s standing.
this is why i take issue with people calling sylvie a ‘villain’ or questioning whether this was her plan for the start. in my opinion, her motivations line up pretty clearly as a creature of habit, one who panics at the first hint of smoke and pushes away the first person she’s been able to bond with for the sake of self-preservation. did she make the wrong decision? unquestionably - the effects of her actions will no doubt plague the multiverse (and the mcu, for us) for as long as they go unchecked. but she made the only decision she was capable of making, and that’s not villainous, just tragic.
conclusion
Tumblr media
well, this is a kind of depressing way to finish this post. for what it’s worth, though, i don’t think sylvie is a doomed character. regardless of how brief it was, she did show a real connection with loki. just because something requires a lot of healing doesn’t make it impossible. this is why i like sylvie as a character so much; she’s deeply flawed and complex, but that complexity makes her interesting, and relatable. marvel has a long history of sexy lamps and supposed ‘tortured backstories’, but sylvie is the first time they paid attention to this with their character writing without having to give somebody a wholeass prequel movie. with loki confirmed to appear in multiverse of madness, i’m hoping we see more of sylvie - not as a villain, but as a hero who can overcome her past experiences and rise to better things.
or maybe another kang shows up and kills her immediately. who knows.

This article is breaking my brain
Have you read this article ?
Tumblr media
TW: mentions of suicide and also I’m an angry petty bitch
Yes I know this article is from like three weeks ago but I just found it... and I have things to say.
I swear I can’t handle this anymore...
Tumblr media
“But today, Loki steps out of his brother’s shadow”... to step in another one. It be the TVA or Sylvie, just... take your pick.
“resuming his role as the God of Mischief” um where? when?
The comedy part is debatable but fine, whatever... I must have missed the noir crime-thriller bit maybe it was between two scenes of Loki getting his ass kicked by literally everyone in this show.
Tumblr media
Yeah you forgot that end-credit scene showing Loki alive and well in IW/Endgame.
And no, alternate/variant Loki doesn’t count, he’s not the same person/character.
Tumblr media
Because of course when you think of Loki you instantly think his story should take place in a “bureaucratic nightmare” -
And why not hire competent experienced people for Multiverse of Madness and Loki? Is this Marvel’s way of telling us they don’t really care about these projects?
Tumblr media
Kevin really said “no experienced writers on this project, let’s just hire whoever” - or maybe it’s a budget thing? Less experience means less zeros on the pay checks?
Tumblr media
Wow, ok.
So not a fan of the movies nor a fan of the character, just a fan of the genre, that explains a lot...
“what was really important to me was stripping away all the fantastical elements” ... ?? I’m sorry?? What?? So removing all the fantastical elements from a show titled after who is supposed to be the main character who is a GOD and a prince from another realm/planet was what was important?? The Trickster God of Mischief, magic wielder, master of illusions NEEDED to be stripped from his FANTASTICAL ELEMENTS???
ffs
“find the heart of this story” - is the heart of this story Loki becoming best friends with his (mental and physical) torturer after what? 2 days? Was it falling in love with the ‘superior’ version of himself after only 13 hours together? I’m still looking for the heart of this story.
“what is the relatable message at the center?” - well apparently it’s ‘you can be a God and a warrior with magical powers but still get your ass kicked by literally everyone all the time and never use your strength and skills to fight back’. Or it’s the power of love, idk -
Oh wait, is it falling in love with the female version of himself? For a weird ‘love yourself’ metaphor? That must be it.
Or maybe it’s jet skis.
Tumblr media
Ah yes, the ‘you can be good, actually’ message of this series that is so subtly presented to us...
They really missed the whole fucking point of Loki.
They missed it so bad they made him call himself a narcissist (which he isn’t btw).
For the record, Loki is a prince of Asgard who learnt one day he was adopted and in fact taken from one of Asgard’s worst enemies, the King of the Jotuns, aka Frost Giants “the monsters parents tell their children about at night”. He found out he was not only adopted but also abducted and not out of love. He feels not only betrayed but he thinks he understands now why Odin always favoured Thor and why he’d never have the same love from Odin that Thor has had his whole life. He thinks of himself as a monster and wants to be worthy of Odin’s love. So he tries to get it. And sure, he doesn’t do it in the best way, and yes, he is the villain of that story. But Loki isn’t a villain. He doesn’t like to make people suffer, he did it out of pain, out of hurt. The events in Avengers was after he was thoroughly tortured and coerced by Thanos to invade Earth. There is even a moment in the end when Thor asks him if he thinks this ‘madness would stop under his rule’ (or something along those lines) and he looks unsure and regretful. But due to the fear of Thanos and insecurity about himself (love is weakness or whatever) he keeps going. He redeems himself in Dark World, again in Ragnarok and yet again in IW and he was thrown in the trash for it.
Yes, Loki’s story is complex, but it really isn’t that complex... So maybe Loki is a “scared little boy” but his way of acting out makes sense and there’s a legitimate reason for it that was not explored in the show. And his backstory is probably what she called the “bells and the whistles”...
“we literally delete his universe” - and apparently you deleted his personality too
“it’s a story of reinvention ... can Loki find goodness in himself?” - again, you’re missing the point. Loki is insecure, but not about his ability to do what’s right, but about whether or not he is worthy of love! Finding goodness within himself comes AFTER!
“Loki’s journey, to me, is really about acceptance of himself” - several questions here, um, first, what about himself does he need to accept? That he’s a Jotun? The show never mentions it. That he’s done bad shit and should forgive himself for it? Give him a reason to. Self-love doesn’t come after being mentally and physically tortured by some guy who acts like he’s your best friend after 2 days of working together and being yelled out that “he can be anyone he wants, even something good”.
Show, don’t tell, isn’t that the point of your job?? The job you begged for??
Loki’s journey should have been about self-love and no, falling in love with the female version of yourself (who keeps saying they have nothing in common (because they don’t!)) doesn’t count!
Tumblr media
“a more mature and darker path” ...
well this is interesting... was making Loki a clown and the butt of every joke part of making the show mature and dark? Were the terrible attempts at humour? Him being beaten up every two seconds? Having him say lines he’d never say in a million years just to be funny but since it’s out of character for him it fails completely? Was making him incompetent and a complete idiot part of that attempt of making the show mature and dark?
Is that why there’s no magic? You cut off the magician so your show would be more “mature and dark”?
Having him cry every episode doesn’t make your show mature and dark.
Loki from Thor, Avengers, the Dark World and even IW is mature and dark. Your Loki from your series is just a pathetic clown.
“don’t give viewers the story they are expecting” - I personally wasn’t expecting any story, I just wanted Loki, you know, in this Loki series, supposedly all about Loki, and you guys couldn’t even do that.
Tumblr media
So this is the author of the article speaking here, I’m guessing, and I think they’re giving a summary of the show so far, so let’s break this down:
“This is Loki as we’ve never seen him before” - I 100% agree -
“Stripped of his self-proclaimed majesty” - ok, first of all, Loki is a prince, that’s a fact, he didn’t make that up, and for the few years he was King of Asgard disguised as Odin, he seemingly did a great job, so...
“but with his ego still intact” - ah, yes, his ego, you know, because he’s such a narcissist... oh wait -
yes he has an ego, but he has a regal one, not misplaced entirely either - his ego in the show is basically him underestimating the TVA and Mobius (as well as the Time Keepers) - his ego is him getting offended by the variant: the ‘superior Loki’ - his ego in the show is used as a weapon to humiliate and belittle him.
“he faces consequences he never thought could happen to such a supreme being as himself” - he literally tried to k*ll himself in the first Thor - literally a result of his own actions - when he returned to Asgard in Dark World, he didn’t try to pretend he hadn’t fucked up. He didn’t try to hide what he had done (he tries to deny to Mobius in episode 2 that he was manipulating them at the fair) - he sacrifices himself in IW... but sure, Loki from the series is indeed surprised that he is powerless (even when he doesn’t need to/shouldn’t be)
“there is a lot of humour ... he is taken down a few pegs by the TVA” ... he is humiliated by the TVA - definitely not what we were expecting, I’ll give you that.
“sentenced to a lifetime of bureaucracy” - definitely did not expect that either
and here comes my favorite quote: “it’s a sad Loki without any mischief”
yes - yes - yes
that is a good summary of this goddamn show, a sad, pathetic, powerless Loki without any personality
“fallen God” - yeah that’s definitely not what I was expecting either from the Loki series so good job on subverting expectations I guess...
Tumblr media
“who is going to win out in this match between them?”
there is no match - Loki is powerless - he’s been turned into a pathetic docile harmless wet dog - Mobius literally mentally (episode 1 and 4) and physically (episode 4) tortures him, both time in an attempt to have Loki do his bidding - Loki is the dog and Mobius is the master - even when Loki ‘tries’ to manipulate him it fails because he’s underestimating them (by overestimating himself) - he uses obvious techniques to manipulate the TVA (episode 2) and nobody buys it because it’s not subtle at all! Loki is smarter than that, he is a TRICKSTER GOD FFS!
“there is an interesting dynamic between them that maybe you haven’t seen with Loki in the Marvel movies” - yeah, maybe there’s a reason for that... like... he wouldn’t... submit so easily... he’d be wary, cautious, cunning... he’d be... himself...
Tumblr media
Sans déconner ?
It’s like whoever wrote the series didn’t actually know shit about Loki... like that wasn’t fucking obvious...
And those lectures were apparently done after the script was written so... again, no surprise there... we can see that
Tumblr media
Well...
Tumblr media
“we wanted the show to be imbued with mischief” vs “sad Loki without any mischief” choose your fighter
“Loki has this very sensitive, damaged, broken heart with an enormous capacity to feel emotion on the biggest scale.”
Are surprised that only Tom so far has portrayed and talked about Loki accurately?
“loneliness, sadness, anger and grief and loss”
I love this man.
Tumblr media
I do wonder what Mr. Branagh thinks of the show...
Tumblr media
I’m of the people who see a vulnerability beneath those layers of charm and playfulness. I love Loki because he’s smart and cunning and regal, and elegant and sophisticated. I love him cause at the end of the day, he just wants to be loved, and he deserves to be loved.
And in the end, the only Loki I can’t stand is the one from the series.
