Heigu may be seen as a reliable and trustworthy guardian who takes his responsibilities seriously and is dedicated to preserving the safety of mortals. Heigu may also values loyalty and duty, and who is willing to go to great lengths to fulfill his obligations and prove his worth as a god.

Heigu's physical appearance: can be described as a young boy, with dark long hair. He is tall and quite muscular for his age, with piercing blue eyes and a stern expression. He is often depicted wearing armor and carrying a long spear.

Heigu is also associated with the colors black, red, white and gold. Which is considered symbols, according to china: Power and authority, good fortune and success, mourning and death, royalty and prosperity.

Heigu's Lore:

Heimdallr and Guan yu, two legendary figures from Norse and Chinese mythology respectively, had always led busy lives, fulfilling their duties with utmost dedication. But despite their accomplishments, they both longed for something more - a child to call their own. They had explored various options for adoption, but their responsibilities left them with little time to devote to doing this. It filled their hearts with sorrow.

However, Heimdallr had a realization - his grandparents were jötuns, known for their ability to shape shift. Heimdallr himself had shape-shifted before, and if Loki could change his sex, so could he. With Guan yu's support, Heimdallr decided to take on the form of a female for the time being and attempt to bear a child.

He was respected and revered, for his power was unbeatable, and his dedication to his duties unwavering. looking at this design, it's easy to tell how much love, time, and effort was put into it. with elements that mirror loki's canon moteifs altered in ways that feel cozy, it's undeniable that there was a lot of thought put into the jötnar as a people. they mirror asgard in a way that directly contrasts the claims we see the aesir make of them, while still feeling like a separate and distinct culture with their personalized magic, unique horns, and clear social dynamics

while deceptively simple, this design is thoughtful and paints a very different picture of jötunheim than we are used to seeing in canon. this design implies a combination of mythologies, which we are very used to in marvel, while giving love and thought to a vivid world of religion which is not often given the same respect as norse or greek mythology. protected from the weather in a way that would not make a temperature-sensitive frost giant overheat, loki's design is full of love for both fantasy, and the very real people who often inspire it 💞

it means the world to me that as many people participated as they did and i really hope that this contest helped make this fandom a more inclusive space in some way

picking the winners for this was SO DIFFICULT. so under the cut, i have also enthused about some of the submitted designs because i wanted to be able to share my thoughts on more of them. i'm so sorry that i wasn't able to get to everyone!!

i know it's based on a canon design and russian ashkenazi fashion but the hair jewelry just looks so in-place here. if it was cold enough outside that i needed to layer my clothes then i too would prefer to wear my metals in my hair where it wouldn't feel cold against my skin

“Discovery of Origin” (No reposting without permission)
Colour practice from some time ago when I wanted to try with some different shades and ended up getting inspired by the jötnar of mcu and decided to draw the arm from the “revelation moment” for Loki (;-;) And.. heck if those lines aren’t hard to understand! Like seriously how do they look?? I pretty much only got one reference from that one scene and the lightning is so off so that I can barely recognize anything! I tried though, even if I didn’t get it all the way, so I’m anyways gonna give myself a clap on the shoulder for the effort XD gotta say I enjoyed myself drawing it and even though I’d say I honestly got a lot of stuff left, I decided to just put an end to it for now because the layers and stuff got kinda fucked up
