summary: meeting JJ & him becoming an absolute simp for you at first glance

“Alright I’m here” JJ announces as he walks into the surf shop. John B glares at him. “JJ we opened two hours ago.” The boys finally opened their surf shop they dreamed about, but we struggled with the actual working part.

JJ glances at you, who looks around the shop confused. As if,you’re not sure what you’re looking for. JJ could feel his cheeks flush just by looking at you.

You were wearing a flowy sundress, covered with tiny flowers, a bunch of brightly designed bracelets on your wrist, and dangly earrings of a shape he couldn’t make of.

Everything about seemed like you walked out of a Jane Ally—Jane Alston—Jane whatever book Kie mentioned. That didn’t stop the urge he felt to walk over to you.

“You’re right. Going to get started right now” JJ says walking towards.

“Wait really—Oh ok “ John B tells him a teasing tone in his voice.

JJ glares at John B but still continuing making his way toward you.

“You need help” His questions startles you as you been focused on trying to find what you were looking for.

“Oh um no thank you—actually yes please” JJ smiles which makes you feel at ease.

“Do you know what surf wax is. I attempted surfing the other day & I kept slipping off my board. I’ve got like five big bruises to prove it. Anyway the internet said surf wax was supposed to help with that.” You ramble.

“You live in OBX & are just surfing now?” It was rare to find someone at Outer Banks who didn’t know how to surf.It was staple there.

“Ohh i’m not from here. I just moved here. I start college here. I mean technically it’s community college. I decided if I can only attend community college then I might as well attend somewhere pretty.” JJ wouldn’t be so sure about the pretty part, but he wasn’t going to crush your fantasy.

Butterflies. Your earrings are butterflies, JJ finally noticed. JJ interrupts his starring and realizes you’re waiting on him to answer your question.

“Oh surf wax, yeah we have surf wax. “ He says, directing you towards the section where it’s located. He points out all the different scents before you finally decide on watermelon.

You were about to leave the store, thanking JJ for his help before JJ blurted, “You know, if you're still struggling with surfing we offer lessons.” They don’t, that wasn’t a thing.

“Really?” You ask hopeful. Any help you could get would mean so much.

“Of course, just stop by any time & Ill teach you” JJ knew how much of a fool he was making of himself, how desperate he looked but he couldn’t stop the words from coming out.

You let out a smile. A genuine smile, one that instantly causes JJ to make it his life mission to have you smiling all the time.

Once you leave the shop, JJ turns around to find John B & Sarah watching.

“Shut up. Shut up. Shut up” JJ mutters but is ignored by John B mocking him.“Oh I’ll teach you”

Public displays of affection aren't Hotch's thing. He likes to keep work appropriate, because he is a professional, and because the team is prone to ridicule him fondly whenever he shows positive emotion, but you're tired and you'd had a hard time on the last case.

He thinks that this might still count as professional, anyway. It's conducive to your continued wellbeing.

"Here," he says, watching your head bob for the third time in as many minutes. He pulls up the armrest that had been keeping you apart and takes your wrist under the table. "You can lean on me."

He can feel Spencer's gaze from the seat across. Hotch doesn't know who'd be more embarrassed if he looked up, him or Spencer, so he keeps his gaze on you.

You don't protest though public displays certainly aren't your thing either. It's indicative of how tired you are. How in need of some softness, maybe. You press your cheek to his shoulder and breathe in a sigh.

"Thanks, Aaron," you whisper.

He hums. "Of course. Try and get some rest, alright? We have hours to burn."

"You could rest, too."

Hotch has a briefcase full of paperwork to finish if he wants to see you or Jack this weekend. "I will," he lies, knowing he can get you sleeping before you realise his lie.

You smile into his arm. He can feel the shape of your lips through his shirt as though they were pressed to bare skin, and the feeling it encourages is exactly why he stays away from public displays.

You don't fall straight into sleep as he'd expected. He waits for the deepening of your breathing and for your weight to crush his arm, but you only lie there in silence. Your hand curls around his elbow loosely.

He chances a glance at Spencer. The younger man's still reading his novel, a Russian classic in the original language, so Hotch takes the opportunity to bestow some sweetness.

"Are you alright?" he asks.

You nod soundlessly. Hotch presses his lips to your head in not quite a kiss and raises the arm you aren't huddled into. His hand falls to your waist, where he tugs you closer over the lip of the chair, and sets about rubbing up and down your side. Your shirt bunches under his touch, his fingers gracing a slice of bare skin. He's swift to pull it down, but that split second of skin to skin seems to have been all you need. You sink into his side and fall asleep.

Hotch closes his eyes. He thinks of your smell, your skin, and the gentle clasp of your fingers against his arm. You make him feel content in a way he hadn't realised he could. To feel loved as you love him, to know he can soothe you into sleeping just about anywhere if you have his hand on your hip, Hotch can't describe how fortunate he feels.

"Is he sleeping?" Emily whispers. "They're so cute!"

Hotch would roll his eyes if he could keep them open. "Let's keep our vocabulary work appropriate," he says quietly.

"...Yes, sir."

Beyond Good & Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition is arriving early next year. The news was accidentally posted early to the Xbox store and was even briefly available to play (albeit in unfinished form) on Ubisoft Plus.

According to its now-deleted Xbox Store page (which was shared by Wario64 on X), the 2003 adventure will now feature 4K graphics and 60 FPS with improvements to controls and audio. It will also feature auto-save and cross-save functionality. Here’s the full blurb:

Beyond Good & Evil originally launched for PlayStation 2, Xbox, PC, and GameCube in 2003. It stars Jade, a reporter and fighter who joins a resistance movement to uncover a conspiracy on an alien planet. Gameplay involves taking on enemies in martial arts melee combat while using Jade's camera to take photos of clues and evidence while solving puzzles. The cult classic received its first big remaster in 2011 in the form of an HD upgrade, while its long-lost sequel, Beyond Good and Evil 2, has seemingly been in development limbo since its formal reveal at E3 2017.

um so anyways i suddenly have mega muse for my ‘andy has fallen to the dark side’ verse so like / reply here if you want something from her in it. of note, it starts out with her just separating off from humanity - probably things like, her relationship with achilles not happening, steering clear of joe and nicky and the rest of the gang a lot more, just being on her own and the bad things that happen when she’s left alone for extended amounts of time. a lot of resentment and jaded attitude, a lot more merc / assassin for hire / bounty hunter type activities along the way. just a lot less investment in human kind and a lot more self preservation and fuck ‘em they don’t give a shit so why should i.

if a multi please specify or at least narrow it down to a few for me to choose from so i know who of yours would work well for this plot and or who you are feeling most at the moment.

mini verse blurb; dark verse andy who has contacts and resources built up over literal centuries of warmongering and political intrigues and just the amount of data and intel network that she’d have like yikes. also imagine the stashes of weapons and armored vehicles and who knows what else she’d have tucked away all around the world.

and it being this best kept secret with mercs and assassins and pulling the whole no one knows who really heads the organization and her having puppet leaders of it all over and she’s just sitting quietly off screen doing her thing and also snagging whatever jobs come through that she wants for herself.

Idk if I ever actually made the starter call / plotting call for “lived alone enough long enough to become the villain” verse for Andy but basically, after losing Quynh/Noriko she detaches entirely from her group and just goes off on her own / slowly spirals into just doing what she wants / stops trying to save humanity - oh I think I did do some plotting with this, basically her having a spy ring and data gathering / mercenary / assassin organization that she runs anonymously that goes back a few hundred years with all kinds of weapons and info and safe houses and the whole works I just poofed not long after doing a couple things in it — but anyways if you wanna plot with Andy in that verse or want to throw me some memes or starters for merc/dark Andy feel free to send memes or starters just specify what verse - could be other crossovers too like star wars or whatever you’re feeling. ❀ Sunsets, Waves and almost Kisses

part two to short JJ blurb ! short again i’m sorry!

You toss your surfboard on the sand, and instantly lay down on it.

You hear his laughter first, before you feel him lying beside you.

“You really weren’t joking when you said you can’t swim” You let out a gasp. “I am not” JJ only laughs. “I swear, it's not me. It’s the waves.” You protest.

“You’re right. It is the waves” You can hear the sarcasm in his voice, but you choose to ignore it.

“Maybe it’s the surf wax?” Your eyes are closed, attempting to recollect your breath. “It’s not.” JJ eyes were on you as he talks . An aesthete watching a painting. The saltwater made you skin sparkle. Green was definitely your color. The minute you showed up in your light green bikini, he was a blushing mess. Thankfully you didn’t notice that he was a mesh.

“How do you know?” Opening one eye to meet his. “I made sure that everything in there is good quality.” “You did?”

“It's my surf shop. Technically mine & John B’s.” Surprised you sit up a little. “It’s your surf shop.”

JJ laughs at you surprise, and nods.

“That’s so cool” You tell him, fascinated.

You let out a gasp “Look JJ” You gently tap his arm repeatedly and point to the sunset.

Your eyes were on the sunset. “It’s so pretty.” JJ eyes were on you, fascinated by your smile. “Yeah it’s beautiful.”

“Hi, I’m sorry to bother you but do you know where the lightbulbs are. The ones in my apartment broke and I’ve been walking in the dark for three days and I’ve cut my foot cause I couldn’t see.” You tell the man at the counter, definitely oversharing.

You walked into the friendly looking shop called Heywards.

The older man smiled at her, not annoyed by your story.

“Heyward, Do you know where Pope is because—“ JJ says as he busts through the store. He stops as his eyes meet yours. There you are again. After that afternoon at the beach he hasn’t seen you since. Now here you were standing in front of him. JJ didn’t believe in fate, but right now he was thanking the universe for you. What were you doing to him?

“Y/N” Your eyes light up when you see him, and you give him a small wave. “Hi JJ” Your voice was soft.

Heyward almost laughed at the sight of JJ nervous. “Y/N wanted to know where the lightbulbs were. You think you can show her JJ” Heywards voice was teasing and JJ slightly glared at him.

As quick as his eyes were off you, his eyes were back on yours. “Oh no it’s ok—“ You start but JJ was already leading you too where they were. His original purpose for coming to Heywards was abandoned.

“How have you been?” You ask, begging, your voice didn’t sound as shy as you felt. JJ's smile eased you a little bit. “ Good. You?” “I’ve been good too.”

“Umm here they are. Which one do you need?” JJ asks as you look at the different light bulbs . “There’s different kinds” You’re eyes wide in shock. “Well which one was your old one.” “I’m not sure. It came with my apartment and it shattered. Glass everywhere and I ended up stepping on it, and that was a mess.” You ramble, again which usually JJ would smile at your words but he felt slight concern at your words. “It might be a loose circuit. You should talk to you landlord about it.” You instantly shake your head. “My landlord scares me.”

“I could try to fix” JJ tells you hoping he didn’t overstep. “I don’t want to bother you. It’s fine” You’re quick to tell him. “Can't have you getting hurt again.” JJ’s words causes you to blush.

“I have class in an hour, but you can stop by anytime after that.” You tell him. JJ nods in agreement. “Ok well I’ll see you then” You give a way goodbye and walking out the store.

“You didn’t get her address boy” Heyward tells JJ, who quickly runs out the store to catch up to you.

She took a reluctant peek out the thin gap of the curtain and spotted Harry Styles, heavily panting, up against the wall of the lounge area. His chest was glowing in sweat, beads of it attaching itself to his beige ribbed self-tie shirt as he let out a quiet, sultry moan.

the warm up: it’s an integral morning for Raven’s yoga teaching career, and in spite of the miles between her and Harry, Raven couldn’t feel more closer to him.

↳ A prolonged sigh leaves Raven’s lips as she lets her body naturally fall back into its previous laying position on her yoga mat. She feels like she’s 13 again, drawled along the sheets of her childhood bedroom, obsessing over the words her crush wrote on a slightly crumbled note. The eight words in Harry’s email seemingly calm her down quicker than a dependable breathing technique could. Then again, that’s the effect Harry has on her, really.

It doesn’t escape Raven’s mind that he chose to send the email at this particular moment, work commitments, and time zones serving as a non issue. Whether it’s a mere coincidence, or him simply relying on an instinct that she’d be submerged in temporary doubts, his reassurance is appreciated.

Some Jarchie Meet-Cute (Feat. Kiwi Archie and Photographer!Jughead because I can)

Jughead Jones was the furthest thing from happy as he’d been all day as he left the bookstore. According to his employee record, he’d been one of the most hardworking, diligent, timely employees they’d had. And yet he’d been the first on the chopping block to make room for an honorary position for the boss’s daughter.

Laid off at Christmas. What a damn cliche.

To say his dark and stormy thoughts were elsewhere was an understatement. His mind lingered among all the things he should have said as he walked out the door, all the things he’d have to rethink without a steady source of income. So it really shouldn’t have been a surprise when he hit a patch of black ice on the pavement and felt the world fall out from under him.

He screwed his eyes shut and waited for the inevitable pain and embarrassment that came from falling flat on one’s back, the contents of his bag strewn everywhere while concerned onlookers checked to see if they needed to call someone.

Only the pavement never came up to punch him down even further than his recent firing.

Instead there was someone pulling at his jacket, keeping him from a harsh reality check. He opened his eyes to find a red-haired man holding Jughead by the arm as if he weighed no more than a tissue box. With what seemed to take no effort at all, the man pulled Jughead back to his feet.

“Careful there, hate to see you knock yourself out.”

The man had a slight accent - Australia? New Zealand maybe? - and Jughead wasn’t entirely certain that he hadn’t hit his head. After all, who went around a snow-covered city in a bright blue and gold varsity jacket, sandals, and a guitar?

“Thanks,” Jughead muttered. He straightened out his jacket, expecting that to be the end of that encounter (and in this city, it usually was), but this man seemed to have missed the memo.

“No worries. Would have hated to see you brain yourself.” He paused and scratched the back of his head, a sheepish look on his face. “Mate, do you reckon you could do me a favor? I’m looking for -” the man squinted at the palm of his right hand. “Pod’s? Yeah-nah, that can’t be right. Pob’s? Pab’s? Pa-”

“Pop’s?”

“That’s the one.”

The redhead stood there, grinning widely with an expectation that Jughead could never decline to help. And in a way, he was right. Jughead couldn’t help but feel a sense of comradery with the man. Something about him was so nice it almost seemed a waste of energy to try and dislike him.

He quickly squashed that feeling though. Afterall, the redhead was just another lost tourist, someone who’d leave the city as quickly as he’d come. And yet…

“I’m headed there now. I can walk with you, if you want,” Jughead said as noncommittally as possible. He shoved his hands into his coat pockets and looked purposefully away from the man.

“Choice, bro. Lead the way.”

They began walking, and if Jughead noticed how close they were he didn’t mention it. It wasn’t until they’d reached the light at the end of the road that the man held out his hand.

“I’m Archie, by the way.”

Jughead shook it and noted the callouses on Archie’s fingertips. Likely the guitar wasn’t a prop to draw attention as he’d first suspected.

“Jughead.”

Archie raised an eyebrow, but didn’t ask about the nickname. Instead he filled the walk with amicable chatter about his experiences in the city while Jughead offered his own minor commentary. It was, on the whole, like talking with a very friendly, very enthusiastic travel blogger.

Jughead should have been put off by the chatty Kiwi (a fact discerned by Archie’s disappointment not to be able to find a ‘Kiwiburger’ in the states), but instead he found himself responding more the longer the conversation went on. It was as if he’d known the man his entire life rather than just ten minutes.

When they arrived at the diner, Archie held the door open for him. The first thing Jughead noticed was that half the diner had gone silent and was staring at the redhead behind him.

“At least let me buy you a cup of coffee. To new friends and all, yeah?” Archie asked, oblivious to the attention.

Never one to turn down coffee, Jughead pulled his beanie down further over his ears and hiked his collar up. “There’s a booth in the back,” he said with a nod.

He waved at Rosie the waitress as he passed. Archie, though, seemed to greet everyone on their way to the back. It was an odd thing, for someone who hadn’t been to Pops’ before, but Jughead put it down to his overly friendly nature.

Jughead took his regular seat in the booth, and Archie seemed relieved to be able to put his back to the door. It was easy to read Archie, Jughead realized, and that was strange in-of-itself. Or maybe that was just who Archie was. Someone who was confident and self-assured enough to put himself out there.

He seemed normal enough, despite the curiosity of the rest of the diner, and that Jughead put down to the redhead being a novelty. Everyone knew or recognized everyone else within the soft, neon glow. Pops’ was a local diner for local residents, and not many tourists made it this far out of the city unless they knew a local, so Jughead chalked the interest down to that.

“So what do you do?” Archie asked after they’d ordered coffee.

A mocha latte, extra whipped cream for Archie, a black, no cream, no sugar, endless refills for Jughead.

“In general or professionally?”

Archie shrugged and picked up a menu to flip through it. “Both. Either.” He thought about it for a moment and Jughead could almost see his thought process. “What would you want your obituary to read if you carked it?”

Jughead snorted at the unexpectedly morbid statement. There were a lot of things he knew he didn’t want put in his obituary - his inability to hold a steady job, his jadedness about the world and the people in it, his use of sardonic humor to keep from getting close to people. (At least he’d be a self-reflective corpse.)

“I’m a freelance photographer for the local newspaper.”

Archie’s head jerked up in interest. His grin was so wide it was easy to see that he’d been the recipient of braces in his younger years. No one had teeth that straight and white without some dental work.

“Yeah? That’s keen. How’d you get into that?”

It was a long story, one that Jughead was still a bit sore about. His ex had inherited her parents newspaper and, in a pinch, had called him at three in the morning to ask if he could photograph some rally protesting a high school shutting down to make way for a prison. And because it was Betty asking him, he couldn’t say no. They might have broken up after college, but she was still his best friend. And even his jaded, sardonic heart couldn’t say no to the paycheck she’d offered.

Betty had called him a godsend and used him as a photographer on and off since then, his ability to work odd and long hours a benefit to them both. But Jughead couldn’t help but have the sneaking suspicion that this was some sort of hand out, some way that Betty had come up with to help him financially in all the ways he’d refused when they’d been dating.

It was an irritable thought he kept to himself. Working for her had lead to other jobs, but he still couldn’t help feeling strangely indebted to her.

“A friend needed me to photograph a political protest,” he said, condensing the entire story in the sentence blurb the paper would use. (After all, they charge by the letter.) “I’ve been working with her ever since.”

“Do you take other jobs? A friend of mine’s been wanting to do an album cover, but she thinks all the ones she’s used before are rubbish. I can show her some of yours at our next meeting. I’m sure they’re brilliant.”

Archie’s interest seemed genuine, and it was the first time in a long time Jughead wanted to share his personal work with anyone. But it was easy enough to be excited over someone else’s work. It wasn’t so easy to be rejected outright, especially when your work would forever be labeled as ‘rubbish.

Besides, his friend was likely some indie artist with two hundred followers on NoiseCumulus offering to pay in ‘exposure’ and ‘experience.’ Two ‘e’s that didn’t pay the bills.’

“Yeah, sure. Maybe.” It was a noncommittal answer, the same one Jughead used to get out of things without having to make up an excuse for it.

There was a lull filled with the sounds of cutlery and line cooks yelling out orders. It occurred to Jughead a moment too late that it was his turn to move the conversation along.

“What is it you do?”

Archie looked at him strangely a moment. With an amused grin, he said, “I sing a little. Gig around bars and street corners. Crash on some friends’ couches, that sort of thing.”

“Bet you meet a lot of interesting people that way,” Jughead said.

“That’s a nice way of putting it.”

There was a jingle at the door and a stranger dressed in clothes that screamed old money walked in. He looked around the diner before taking off his sunglasses. The sight of him set Jughead’s teeth on edge just on principle alone. Or maybe that was just the amount of hair pomade the man obviously used.

Archie’s phone buzzed. He turned to wave at the man.

“That’s my manager,” he said. He hesitated a moment, and when he’d decided something took a pen out of his pocket and wrote something down on a diner napkin.

“If you want to do dinner tonight, and don’t feel like you have to, but here’s my number,” he said as he wrote.

Surprised at Archie’s interest, and sure he was misreading his intention, Jughead took the napkin. “Dinner would be good. So long as you weren’t thinking Italian. The only good Italian place blew up last month.”

“Sushi then? I’ve been craving it since I landed, but haven’t had the time to find a good place.”

“I know a place,” Jughead told him. “I’ll text you the address.”

“Oh chur. See you then. And don’t forget to bring a portfolio of your work if you want. I can pass it on to Josie this weekend,” Archie said. He reached out and squeezed Jughead’s hand before collecting his guitar and walking towards his manager, who gave Jughead a slow, appraising look. Jughead scowled at him and his overly oiled hair.

A few minutes after Archie left the booth, Jughead’s phone buzzed with a stream of texts from his sister.

‘Archie? You’re having breakfast with Archie Andrews?!?!? Number one pop star and love of all under 17 and over 46???? YOU?????’

‘WHAT have I done to deserve this punishment?’

‘It should have been me!!!!’

‘Did you ask him about his tour? Did you get an autograph?? Did he talk about his music???’

It finally clicked why she was so distraught, though, when she sent the picture of him and Archie walking through the door at Pop’s.

It was so obvious, and yet Jughead had entirely missed it. Archie Andrews was J.B.’s inane pop star, known the world over for his sugary pop lyrics, great smile, and overall charm. For as much as she claimed to be edgy and off the beaten path J.B. had the biggest crush on an inane pop star. His posters covered the walls of her bedroom back at his mother’s apartment, and she listened to his songs on constant rotation when it was just the siblings in a car.

He’d even made the nightly news about his announcement to tour the U.S. as the opening act for Josie and The Pussycats, likely the same Josie he’d mentioned showing Jughead’s work to.

And Jughead had just agreed to go to dinner with him.

180 WEEK: My Top 10 Favorite Race Medals

The past couple months as I’ve been preparing for this race — and everything that comes with it — I’ve been going through all of my race medals. I’ve not been going through them to reminisce, but to also organize a bit better. I have all of my medals stored by year in seven shoeboxes.

I want (well, need) to display them more prominently — and I am working on all of that. I’ve bought some wall mounts along with a race medal lamp holder. Yes, it’s a lamp I can hang my race medals on. It’s pretty cool.

For the past several years I’ve been sharing my year’s favorite race medals at the end of each year. And, I thought since we’re here at the end of the road of my 180 races — I should do the same, but for ALLLLLLLLL of my 180 races.

I don’t have a set criteria for the medals. They’re just my favorite for different reasons. Generally speaking I love medals that are large, detailed and have a good heft to them. But, there are also race medals that have some personal meaning to me — that might lack on the size, details and/or heft.

But, that doesn’t mean they’re not cherished equally. I guess this is what it’s going to feel like once I have kids?

I digress.

Anyways, here are my top ten favorite race medals from my 180 races. I’ve included a little blurb to each to explain why they’re one of my favorites.

The Mt. Nebo Half is one of my favorite half marathons. It’s a fast fun downhill race that I PR’d at in 2013. Nebo will always have a special place in my heart. It’s just a great race.

I practically love this medal for the design — it’s just — rad. I love the colors and black gold. It makes the orange POP. Plus, the design on point and I love the edges that bring the mountain inside the leaf. A very, very, very awesome race medal. Consequently, the same year’s race shirt is one of my favorites to wear.

The detail on this medal is awesome. I love the Ogden arch design along with the mountains on this medal — it’s clean with simplicity of color. Not only that it’s a good size with a great heft to it. It doesn’t leave you feeling disappointed — you definitely feel like you EARNED the medal.

This medal is special to me as well, because this was the marathon I surprised my friend Becca at — after training for it with her thinking I wasn’t running it. You’ll read more about that later this week.

This was my first Ragnar — it was also my first and last time being the team captain. But, that’s a story for another day. But, I absolutely love this race medal. Not only does it have a spinny thing in the middle (my favorite feature), but it’s HUGE and HEAVY!

The design is fun and clean while the colors on point with the orange and silver. It’s just a great medal all around. This is one medal I love to show off whenever I give presentations about my journey and races.

It took me nearly six years of running to finally run a Vacation Races event. Something I’m a little bummed about, because I’ve always loved their race medal designs. They put great effort into them and they come out great. And, from a design aspect — they’re clean and on brand.

This was my first Vacation Races event — and I picked it mainly because it’s my name. And, I was able to run the Snow Canyon Half Marathon in the morning of the same — so I was able to run my name — Joshua Snow Hansen. Pretty cool, huh?

This was a tough race — and day — I was sick throughout the day (I threw up 12 times throughout the day) but I managed to finish both races — and earn this beauty! I can’t wait to run more Vacation Races!

It’s kind of fitting that I am sharing this post on Disneyland’s birthday. As many might know — I am somewhat of a Disneynerd. I love Disney, Disneyland, Walt Disney — pretty much anything Disney. So being able to combine my love for Disney and running was natural for me.

I did the Disneyland Half Marathon in both 2011 and 2012 — and honestly there’s not much of a difference in the design. Probably none to be honest with you. So this could technically be a tie?

Either way, I love the design and size of this race medal. The design is clean with the all gold cast — and the size is pretty hefty. Disney didn’t skimp on the medals — which they shouldn’t because when you’re paying nearly $200 for a race without getting a park ticket for the day — they should go all out.

I’m sometimes a conflicted jaded Disneyland fan.

This is definitely the smallest race medal on this list. Don’t let the picture fool — it’s rather small. When I first got it — I’ll admit I was a bit disappointed. I was kinda hoping I got a honking 50lbs. race medal put around my neck for the accomplishment. But, I’m okay with it now.

What it lacks in size, it makes up in meaning. There’s so much meaning in this medal. Just the fact I was able to complete the 50 miles is meaning enough — but, the miles training for before the race, my journey, etc. all weighed into that finish line. The really made the size of this medal feel like that 50lbs. race medal.

I can’t wait to earn another one these medals and cherish it just as much — regardless of the size.

You could serve cupcakes to a family of eight on this race medal! Seriously, no joke! This is the largest medal I own size wise. It’s HUGE! And, the whimsical, colorful and fun design just fits with the race and Race Director Cory Reese TOO WELL!

I feel like I need a redo on this race, because I ran it sick and wasn’t able to fully enjoy the race as one should. The race consists of four laps of a loop in Hurricane with an aid station of cookies, donuts and sugar galore — that you can (and are encouraged to) gorge on.

I just wasn’t feeling well — and ended up eating no more than 5 mini donuts.

Weak sauce!

But, hey, I still earned the medal!

Seriously, this is an AWESOME medal. This is the Runtastic Events Trilogy Medal — a medal you get for running three of their half marathons or marathon during one calendar year. This has a double meaning for me — well maybe more, actually.

This medal has some serious size, heft and design. It’s absolutely HUGE and HEAVY! But, it’s special to me because it’s for the year that I worked with Runtastic Events. I quit to focus on PrepperCon in August of that year so I was also able to earn the medal by running the Mt. Nebo Half and both Haunted Half races.

I love this medal as well because it’s the same year that I visited Greece — so that tie into the meaning of earning it and working for the company — just puts it in a special place in my heart.

But, seriously — IT’S HUGE! (TWSS)

This medal has some serious heft to it! Not only that, but the design is clean and classy — an absolute favorite of mine. Not only is the design one of my favorites, but the memory attached to it bumps it up a few notches on the list.

This was Jill’s first marathon that I ran alongside her. I’ll have more about this memory and moment later this week. But, I will always love and cherish that moment.

And, Revel has always had awesome race medals.

Full disclosure — I am little biased on this medal. I had a hand in the design with this race medal when I worked for Runtastic Events. But, I seriously love it. Not only for the color design, but I love the black gold that makes all those colors pop and it’s a nice sized medal.

I’m not a huge fan of gore and scar when it comes to Halloween. So going the route of Día de Muertos I thought was perfect. You get the Halloween vibe without the blood and gore. It was really a winner.

But, it’s hard to not pick up this medal and not stare at it. This will be pretty hard to top in my book. I absolutely love it.
