when you were an infamously fucked-up but ultimately benign and sad wizard who got involved (through a complicated chain of events and interpersonal mishaps that were both only tangentially related to you and fully because of you. and your wife) in the unbecoming of Azathoth (serial numbers filed off) and turned into a normal sad guy who can't even do wizard shit. but goddammit if you don't miss your wife. so you try to do some freaky ritual summoning magic about it. but you mess it up so bad you transfer two characters from a fanfiction you wrote when you were in a really bad place into the meat world and the keeper of the Key and the Gate (cosmic entity whose existence stems from the dream of an eternally slumbering man)(he's really depressed bc his friend died. unrelated.) has to phone you up to say "Dude.
