Imagine...finding out there’s fanfic written about you--and even Charlie ships you with Dean

Warnings: Fluff? Crack? A dramatic fanfic within a fanfic that I got carried away with haha.

A/N: This is kind of ridiculous, but I had fun with it! Also, I’ve never actually seen GoT but it seemed like a reasonable reference from what I’ve heard about it.

“Hey, look who I found!” Sam’s voice echoed through the War Room.

Dean glanced at you from across the table in the library, sharing your surprised expression as you both pushed your chairs away and stood.

“‘Sup, bitches?” Charlie grinned, making her way up the steps toward you.

“Hey! We were expecting you guys to come in through the main door. We’ve been keeping an ear out.”

Charlie stepped into your outstretched arms and pulled you into a tight hug. “It was a spur of the moment decision, but I decided to stick around a day or two longer than planned! Sam said I could go ahead and park in the garage.”

She let go of you and turned to give Dean a hug too. He smiled softly with a look that was uniquely reserved for her, cradling the back of her head while she pressed her cheek against his.

“Good to see you, Charlie. You know you’re always welcome to stay as long as you want.”

An involuntary smile crept onto your face as you watched them. You couldn’t help the way your heart swelled at the low rumble in his voice when he said her name. There was an undeniable protectiveness in his tone when he spoke to her--the sister he’d never wanted, as he affectionately called her.

When you shifted your attention to her, you noticed she was watching you. Before you could decipher the knowing glint in her eye, she suddenly twisted out of his arms and glanced back and forth between you and Dean. She began swinging her arms awkwardly before opting to cross them over her chest.

“You okay?” Dean asked, furrowing his brow.

“Yeah! Of course...Totes chill...cooler than a pack of peppermints.” She bobbed her head and flashed a nervous smile, twisting her hair around her finger as she struggled to act nonchalant. “It’s just that I remembered something. A story I read a while back--completely random. Totally unrelated to anything--I mean, now I’m starting to ramble. Hah! So how’ve you guys been? Still saving the world from evil sons-of-bitches?”

“Uh, yeah…” Sam answered, scrunching his eyebrows together. “We stay busy.”

“So what’s on the agenda tonight?” you piped up, changing the subject.

You were hoping to avoid swapping monster stories for a night. Charlie typically assumed the role of introducing you to popular and noteworthy fandoms during her visits to the bunker and, even if the boys weren’t as vocal, the three of you appreciated her knowledge of all things geeky and nerdy.

“I was thinking Marvel. Y/N, you’re obviously well-versed in the MCU because of your obsession with Steve Rogers--and, you know, clearly you’ve got a thing for the strong, righteous, self-sacrificing hero type. Dean, you could stand to branch out from the Batman references and, Sam, you’ve got this whole Thor kind of vibe going on.”

While Sam and Dean began teasing each other and arguing over “Batman versus Thor,” you gaped at Charlie, wondering what she’d meant by her remark about you having a “type.” You couldn’t help feeling like she was trying to insinuate something, but you shrugged it off and decided maybe it was all in your head.

After getting Charlie settled into one of the extra bedrooms, the four of you settled into the Dean Cave and agreed to start with the first Captain America movie.

Last Christmas, you and Sam had teamed up to surprise Dean with a couch for the Dean Cave. He had originally only had two La-Z-boy recliners and you’d found him fast asleep in the stiff old chairs on more than one occasion. Dean had been over the moon about the extra seating and the three of you had rearranged the furniture so the recliners were angled toward the tv on either side of the couch.

“Dibs on this side of the couch!” Charlie said, diving toward the furthest end from the door.

Although it was subtle, you knew there was still something off about the way Charlie studied all of you. There was definitely something on her mind she was trying to keep hidden from all of you.

“You know, we should probably have some snacks,” you said slowly. “Charlie, you want to come help me grab some stuff from the kitchen?”

“But I’m already comfy in my spot.” She frowned, wiggling her hips to make a point of sinking deeper into the spot she’d claimed on the couch. “Why don’t you have Dean help you?”

When you narrowed your eyes suspiciously, Sam cleared his throat. “Dean, why don’t I help you grab some snacks while Y/N and Charlie...catch up, er, whatever…”

You heard the boys leave the room and waited until their footsteps faded down the hall before you started interrogating her.

“Alright, Charlie--what the hell is going on with you?”

“I don’t know what you're talking about,” she muttered, scrolling through her phone.

“Bull. We lie for a living and I know there’s something you’re not telling us. So spill.”

“Fine,” she sighed. “Okay, so remember the Supernatural books by Carver Edlund?”

“Yeah…”

“The series obviously kind of had a cult following when it was in print, right? Well ever since the unpublished works got uploaded, the following has really taken off. Every once in a while a new one still pops up and the fans love them. And you’re in them now too!”

“I’m...what?”

“I mean it’s just insane and totally got sucked into it too. It’s brought on this whole new wave of fanfiction--”

“What’s fanfiction?” you cut in, struggling to keep up.

“It’s fiction made by the fans about the series. Sometimes they put themselves in the stories and write about working cases and fighting monsters with you guys--”

“Why would anyone want to pretend to do this crap with their lives?”

She stared at you for a moment and frowned. “Because you guys are heroes. I mean, yeah, there’s the whole depressing side of monsters and death and trauma and world-ending apocalypses--but you guys save people. You go on these exciting adventures of good versus evil and a lot of times you win. You save people. The fans really look up to all of you.”

Your gaze fell to the floor as you let her words sink in, but she didn’t give you long before she was rambling again.

“But that’s not even the best part! Everyone ships different OTPs--” she paused, noticing your puzzled expression “--uh, one true pairing… So everyone has a favorite couple they think are soulmates and belong together. There’s stories about Sam with Eileen or Jess, Dean with different people--you get the gist. Sometimes they even make up characters or do these ‘reader inserts’ and imagine themselves with the boys or you but, hands down, everyone’s favorite couple they want to end up together is you and Dean.”

“...what?”

Your eyes grew wide. It was hard enough to wrap your mind around the fact that strangers who didn’t know you were a real person were reading about your life, but learning they imagined you in different relationships? You’d never admit it out loud, but had it bad for Dean. And hearing you weren’t the only one that wanted the two of you together...

“I’ve gone deep into the fic and I can’t believe I didn’t see it sooner!” Charlie shook you from your thoughts. “You and Dean are perfect for each other. For serious. I usually stick to the fluffy stuff because, you know, your entire life is kind of angsty and I don’t like to read about you guys being in pain or, like, dying...again. Although I definitely have to admit I kind of stumbled into some of the smutty stuff and, wow, that was something else.”

You opened your mouth to ask more questions, but she kept rolling.

“Right, you probably don’t know what that means either. Fluff is the cute stuff that gives us all feels, angst is kind of just what it sounds like, and smut is, well...the sexy stuff.”

“You mean people out there in the world write about me and Dean…”

“Going at it like an episode of Game of Thrones? Oh yeah,” she responded, unlocking her phone. “Here. Here’s an example.”

Swallowing audibly, you took a seat next to her on the couch as she extended her phone toward you. Gnawing your bottom lip, you began reading the words on the screen:

Y/N took a deep breath, holding it in briefly before she exhaled and began walking toward Dean’s room. Ever since they returned from the hunt, Dean had hidden himself away in his room--no doubt blaming himself for everything that had gone wrong.

When she arrived at his door, she raised her hand to knock. She hesitated, almost retreating at the thought of him turning her away, but she had to try. She had to get through to him somehow.

She rapped her knuckles on the raw umber barrier and opened the door of Room 11 before he could tell her to go away.

She spotted him leaning over the sink, staring at his reflection in the medicine cabinet on the wall. His jade eyes flickered to where she stood in the doorway, their reflection somewhat distorted by cracks that spiderwebbed from where he had struck the mirror.

Her heart seemed to drop into her stomach as she imagined him lashing out, knowing he punched the mirror because he hated the reflection staring back at him. Knowing he always carried the weight of the world on his shoulders when he didn’t need to.

Y/N carefully shut the door and locked it behind her--the click of the deadbolt deafening in the silence. Her eyes never left Dean, who refused to turn and face her. She inched toward him, closing the distance until she could reach out and touch him. Gently placing her hand on his shoulder, she guided him to turn away from the mirror. Still, he refused to meet her eyes.

“Dean…” she breathed, voice barely above a whisper as she cupped his face in her hands. “It’s not your fault.”

He squeezed his eyes closed, face contorting with grief and guilt. The ghosts of his past refused to let him go, but she was determined to make him believe that he was worthy, no matter the cost.

Curling a finger beneath his chin, she tilted his head up, waiting patiently for him to meet her gaze. When his dark green orbs finally met hers, she was surprised to see that they were full of longing and desire. They flickered to her lips, making her breath tremble under the intensity of his gaze. Time seemed to slow until it froze altogether.

Anticipation hung heavy in the air as they both struggled against their desire to maintain the friendship they’d always had and the desperate need to finally cross that line. To succumb to the magnetic pull that had always been evident between the two of them.

Dean swallowed thickly before suddenly rushing forward, crashing his lips to Y/N’s as he pulled her into a searing kiss. He wrapped his strong arms around her, trapping her to his chest, afraid it was all a dream and she would soon disappear. But she gladly melted into his embrace, feeling like she was finally returning home, to a place she’d spent her life searching for.

A moan slipped past her lips as he walked her backward, pressing her up against the wall. She gasped, feeling his--

“The snacks have arrived!”

You jumped in surprise, a small gasp of surprise escaping as the boys appeared with armloads of snacks. Confusion and worry painted Dean’s face as he surveyed your flustered expression. Between his scrutinizing gaze and the content you’d practically been caught reading, your cheeks grew warm.

“Did I miss something?” Dean asked.

“Nope,” you responded much too quickly.

Charlie’s phone had fallen into your lap and, when she began cackling, you whipped your head in her direction and flung the phone at her thigh. You grimaced and the two of you had your own silent conversation as the boys spread the food across the bar Dean had built on the far wall.

“I was just telling Y/N how pumped I am about seeing my favorite OTP tonight,” she giggled.

“Your...what?”

Dean’s arm brushed yours as he plopped down on the other side of you. The accidental contact sent a wave of chills over your skin, making you shudder. You could feel his eyes on you again, but you refused to look at him.

“Oh, I’m so going down with this ship,” Charlie whispered under her breath before continuing in a louder voice. “Nothing--nevermind! Don’t mind me, just thinking out loud...”

“It says here an OTP means...one true pairing?” Your eyes grew wide as you looked to where Sam was reading his phone from where he sat in one of the recliners. “So, uh, ‘in the fandom realm, OTP refers to the coupling of characters--usually from the sci-fi or fantasy genres--by fans who think they make a great romantic duo and envision their lives together and share their imaginings with other fans.’”*

Charlie doubled over, beside herself with laughter. With your lips pressed into a firm line, you glanced at the boys to gauge their reactions. You knew there was no way they could possibly know what you and Charlie had been talking about, but that didn’t stop you from worrying about what Dean might think if he ever found out about the feelings you harbored for him.

“So...you’re looking forward to Cap and his girl in the movie? I’m so freaking confused,” Dean grumbled.

“Yeah…” Sam agreed, making his way to the tv. “I’m just, uh...I’m gonna start the movie now.”

“Good idea.” Charlie peered at you out of the corner of her eye. “Plenty of time to read and talk about all those ships later.”

Although you glared at her, trying to hide your amusement, nothing could deter the smug smile etched upon her face. As Sam turned the lights off and you settled in for another relaxing night with your favorite people, one thing was certain:

You were definitely going to have to take another look at that fanfiction.

season three of she-ra rated by catradora content

the price of power: adora talks about how she thinks the others at the horde can change too and when u think about it in the “at this point in the story, she still hoped catra would change” way it’s like wow :’) we knew that but wow :’) it sucks tho that in this scenario she’s actually wondering specifically if shadow weaver can change, which :/ hm :/ bc shadow weaver sucks. adora really fucking called her out on her abuse tho which is so sexy, and yes that has nothing to do with catradora i just felt like i really wanted to mention it at least <3 shadow weaver is a loserrrr <3 but.... she does mention “catra betrayed me” which makes adora do her “oh, catra?👀” eyebrow raise. i swear she cannot keep a straight fucking face whenever someone mentions catra. it’s like. are you lgbt or something? :/ 2/10

huntara: no catra this episode, but adora’s reaction to huntara will forever go down as one of her stupidest gay moments. u think catra knew super huge buff ladies were adora’s type? how fucking funny would it be if catra thought she never stood a chance with adora not because of the internalized homophobia shadow weaver instilled in them but simply because she thought she was not tall and buff enough for adora’s taste. “adora doesn’t want me!!!!! not like i want her..... because i’m not swole😔” 0/10

once upon a time in the waste: very funny and sexy of catra 2 be like. hm. i was sent here to die. i have completely given up on my hopes and dreams. oh wait what did you say? she-ra?😏 and she was blonde?👀 she’s got a sword?😩 she was angry?😽 her name is adora?👅 and all of a sudden catra is like nope existential crisis over. i’m gay again. and also evil again. that mix culminates in her giving a sexy monologue. did you know that if you’re gay and evil you will give very sexy monologues? and also sword lesbians will fall in love with you despite your questionable morals? anyway, catra takes over the whole of the crimson waste. i won’t discuss how since technically it doesn’t involve catradora but it was really hot okay😔 also adora was being really hot and powerful and fearless (she did not even flinch as bats flew in her face. hello?) and Angery this ep but i will also not get into it😩 i will however remark upon how both catra and adora low key had meltdown monologues this ep, and it is :( but also hot and cool of them. now, i will move onto when they meet <3 catra starts slow clapping as her goons creep onto mara’s ship and poison dart the best friend squad. they only send three darts flying and the last one is blocked by huntara. we have to assume that catra only ordered her team to send three darts for huntara, bow, and glimmer, leaving adora for last because catra has to greet her with, and let’s say it all together—“hey, adora😼”. adora tries to make a run for her sword but catra uses her new sexy cool whip to take it away. “i think this might be the quickest i ever won a fight. always so dramatic with you, isn’t it, adora?” adora tells huntara to save bow and glimmer first, leaving adora as catra’s only prisoner. 👀👀👀👀 soon after, everyone is celebrating, and catra sits in the big chair on mara’s ship like it’s a throne, casually draped over with adora’s sword in her hand, the long blade just resting between her legs. and. hooooooooooooooo boooooooooooooiiiiii. let me just. let me just have a second over here okay folks? this is all very hard for my sexuality to take. i don’t think u all realize how hard it is to make these evaluations. every day i have a breakdown over how hot one of them is. it’s one thing to just watch the show but every time something gay happens (so like, every five seconds) i gotta pause it and take notes (by take notes i really mean start ranting about it like this) and then i gotta like rewind it and shit to double check and i have to force myself to just be repeatedly subjected to the gayness. starting to get a little homophobic tbh! okay back to the show. catra is so fucking sweet and makes everyone cheer scorpia on too. she breaks out into this beautiful giggle. oh my god her laugh. bitches falling for this catgirl left and right smh. catra grabs scorpia’s claw and drags her away from the party. we also find out this is when catra learns about what a party is. remember how adora didn’t know what a party was either? :( damn. they deserve to have absolute ragers ok. catra starts talking about how valued and cool she will be when they go back and show hordak the sword, etc, and scorpia is like. but what if we didn’t do that. what if we just stayed here and had a gay life. a good honest gay life filled with sick parties and gang leading. and catra is like oh right.... u have a point..... i do hate the horde...... wonder why that is.... and then scorpia makes a fatal mistake. she says “forget adora!” which is about the dumbest thing you can tell a self destructive catgirl who’s been in love with adora her whole life but also kinda resents her atm. and catra is like perhaps i don’t want to forget adora. did u consider that scorpia? did you not think about how i crave her lips upon my mouth every night? fuck u im gonna go uh... find adora n maybe tie her up even more idk >:( catra goes to “check on the prisoner”, according to her own words. what does that mean, catra. like what. ur gonna go see if adora wants some tea? something 2 eat?👅 someone to kiss? Fkskdjdjdj adora is obviously struggling against her restraints and trying to break free, and the second she sees her she goes “catra, you can’t do this! >:(“ and catra is like “well, hello to you, too.” because MANNERS, adora, like god damn it catra always puts in the tender loving care and effort to greet you and you can’t even say hello? :( catra dismisses the goon who was previously guarding adora, because when you.... talk to your..... best friend turned enemy who’s now your prisoner. ur gonna want some privacy ya know😌😩👀😔 anyway catra is like ok.... once again.... y can’t i do this. and adora is like more horde army might come in!!! which. adora baby i love you but maybe don’t make that the thesis statement of your sales pitch? to the person who was second in command at the horde?? not to nitpick but if i were u i would’ve just said “noooooo don’t open a portal that might destroy reality ur so sexy ahaha” OR “if u give me back my sword and decide NOT to rip apart the fabric of this dimension i’ll kiss you on the mouth❤️” i know that u think ur feelings are one sided and that catra isn’t in love with you and that you can’t seduce her to the bright side💔 but u actually could have 💔 fkdkdjdjdj moving on.... catra says “never a dull moment with you❤️” which is weirdly so romantic. like yeah they’re enemies but catra gets bored when adora isn’t around. life is always exciting when adora is there, in catra’s eyes :’( like damn bitch if you like her so much why don’t you just marry her haha. please? <3 adora continues to explain that we will ALL lose if hordak opens a portal, light hope and mara said that opening a portal will endanger everyone!! and catra says the funniest thing. “you’ll listen to anything weird old holograms tell you, won’t you? you should really try to get over that. :/“ LFKDKFKDKFKFKFJ GIRL YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING THIS FUNNY. but then adora says the wrong thing :( she brought up you know who and said “shadow weaver told me” and catra.... :( she’s like. how did. she tell you. and adora’s voice goes soft and it’s like “you didn’t know?” because from what she knows catra is allegedly the one who betrayed shadow weaver, not the other way around. and catra grabs adora by the collar and pulls her in and adora gets this gasp and. let me just scream for five minutes. okay. i’m back. so. catra pulls her in and she’s like HOW. and adora just very slowly and cautiously tells her the truth. that shadow weaver is in bright moon. and :( catra :( she lets go of adora and comes to this. very destructive realization that shadow weaver “left her” for adora and that all the pain she’s felt is all Because Of Adora. that, just by being adora, everything, all the happiness that catra could have had, has been taken away. which she is wrong about but that’s what she thinks :( and adora realizes that this is. not good. and she gently goes “catra?” because the look on her face must be worrying to adora, and catra starts to walk away and adora desperately calls out to her. “catra, please, you have to listen!” but...... it’s too late :( and catra is enveloped by the darkness. 9/10 for the collar grabbing shit and just the inherent gayness of their connection and interactions but also this is all so sad bros :( my bros are all devastated

moment of truth: catra walks back into the horde with her arm around adora’s shoulder. hm! Hm! HM! really doesn’t feel like she needs to do that! but she’s doing it anyway! later on, entrapta and adora are alone and talking. “catra would say anything to get whatever she wants.” true, but also not true, adora. she wants to be your gf, but has she said anything about it? no :/ that’s in like 2 seasons. and you were literally about to die so she low key had nothing to gain. so :/ think carefully next time. fjsjfjsjdjdjd entrapta pulls out the funniest cutest bar graphs of data, and there’s like four categories and for some reason catra has low scores for the first three but a really high score for the last one? i desperately want to know what that is. adora says “look, i understand. catra was my friend, too.” and she casts her eyes to the side when she says this. as if.... that statement is a lot more loaded than it seems. because yes catra was adora’s friend. but also wasn’t she, at the same time, so much more than that? yes <3 it was because they were best friends <3 gal pals <3 “but she makes bad decisions. this is one of them.” :( yeah i mean what am i supposed to do. disagree with that? it’s so wild to think about how even through all of this adora never hated catra. arguably, she never stopped loving her either. which. sigh😔 pour one out boys we are yearning tonight! entrapta leaves the room, asking adora if she’ll try to escape. and adora is like “no?👀” which is irrelevant but also really funny. another irrelevant thing i want to bring up is catra when she’s losing in a fight against shadow weaver. “so, what? you’re on the side of good now? you made me this way, and you get to be the good guy?” bro. fucking.... bro. catra’s lines istg.... also her being able to take on gang leaders and princesses and take those people down easily but to lose so quickly to shadow weaver... y’all know what that is right :( sigh. wait. i’m not done let’s sit very sadly on this next line for a bit. “do you know what happened to me after you escaped? do you even care?” i’m gonna cry okay. right. back to catradora. catra is. really unhinged and devastated and destructive right now :( and so she marches into entrapta’s lab and demands that they fire up the portal machine. entrapta says they can’t, because “adora was right” and immediately that sets catra off. she gives this barely restrained chuckle and is like “adora is right.....” and she’s just. having a full on breakdown. she’s just filled with so much anger and resentment.... i can’t even joke and call it a hate boner man, and that sucks because i would love to call it a hate boner :( “adora gets EVERYTHING she wants” no catra, you are wrong. she wants you. she does not have you. case closed. adora has literally only truly wanted one thing in her life, and she does not have it because you won’t give it to her 😔 in conclusion, adora p much never gets what she wants :( why don’t you go over and hug her and then maybe you’ll calm down. i know it’s more complicated than that but still😔 anyway, catra is very determined to not let adora win, so in order to beat adora, she decides they have to open the portal no matter what, because that’s the one thing adora seems to not want right now. some very not chill stuff happens, and catra runs into hordak’s lab and demands that he opens the portal. she lies to hordak and says “oh you can’t trust anyone, especially a PRINCESS” and she turns over to glare pointedly at adora. which is. SUCH a bitter ex thing to do. “they’ll just use you to get what they want” CATRA SHE LOVES YOU :( SHES IN LOVE WITH YOU SHE ONLY EVER WANTED TO BE WITH YOU :( and also she was raised to think she only had worth if she did what others expected of her and that everyone’s happiness and safety was somehow her responsibility. and that it would be better for her to die than for others to get hurt. she was never trying to use you :( you were the only thing that ever made her selfish :( bow, glimmer, and shadow weaver run in and fight with hordak and catra, and catra realizes she has to pull the lever now or it’ll be too late. adora desperately yells “catra, please, don’t!” and catra looks at her for a last time, evil smirking before she does it. roll credits. 8.5/10

remember: oh, we’re really in it now huh :( we hear the last lines from catra and adora from the last episode, and i think this is a part of adora’s dream. she is woken up by catra gently saying her name <3 then by catra a little bit angrily saying her name fjsjdjdjd adora wakes up with a shock and catra is sitting on top of her. and adora is like listen, we have to go. now! scorpia, lonnie, kyle, rogelio, they’re all gone! but catra is like what are you talking about? who’s gone? and adora’s all they’re gone. there’s nothing left. and we’ll be next if we don’t get out of here right now. and she’s so firm about it putting her entire foot down because No. not catra. she Cannot lose her. but catra is so stuck in wanting some part of all this to be real that she’s arguing with adora that she’s not making sense and Everything Is Fine. and adora goes “don’t say it’s Perfect. i know it’s not perfect and so do you!” because... she just knows catra that well. and she knows catra is smart enough to see what’s going on if scorpia did that too. catra’s choosing to repress it all, but adora’s words snap catra into memory for a moment, and she remembers it, maybe even remembers it all, and i think.... it all just hurts too much and she’d rather not be in that reality so she acts like she doesn’t know a thing and tells adora she’s not going anywhere. frustrated because she can’t convince catra, adora picks up one of the stun barons and... tases catra KFKSKDKDKDKSKDK and i can’t help but think of when catra tased adora back in sword part 2 (1x02) and man that is not good but also so funny that they’ve both tased each other. there’s this desperation there in both instances that we should definitely not romanticize at all but they just. deep down they will just do close to anything to keep the other with them. and it is messed up! and i’m glad that a little ways down the road they unlearn this but also.... wow. adora catches catra tenderly in her arms as she slumps against her, literally fucking BRIDAL CARRYING catra out and running away from the crumbling horde. literally IMAGINE IF LIKE. catra did not wake up and fight with adora. imagine if catra had stayed passed out longer and adora had fixed the portal without anyone getting left behind. and catra was still unconscious and she like walks out of the portal back into where they all were with catra in her arms like that. just like hey i fixed the portal :) all of us nearly died and it was kind of partially this catgirl’s fault but i’m like low key desperately in love with her so can we keep her? catra she loves you she’s in love with you she would pull you from the depths of hell even if you threw everyone in there in the first place!!!!!! that’s how deep this runs because that’s not even a metaphor adora has identified you as the main party who brought upon this reality ripping portal and still!!! she wants you saved. is that not fucking hot? THE HORDE IS EVIL DJSJDJSNDNSJS like. that’s a really important part too. it’s kind of hard for catra to distinguish that though because she’s had very. evil things done to her all her life. and she held on for so long because she thought adora would always be there with her but then adora walks away and makes it seem like. it could have been that easy. but it can’t have been that easy because if it was so easy why did catra have to suffer so much for? also adora didn’t run away to save catra. she had this destiny thrust upon her, and she chose to leave the horde before inviting catra along, which is not wrong of her at all, but it inevitably made catra feel like an afterthought. and now... things are kind of damaged. and catra just wants to run if adora won’t stay, so she shoves adora and takes off and adora lunges after her, tackling her, and adora decides to confront catra about the big elephant in the room, the thing she’s not said a thing about to catra until now when they’re fighting because she was so desperate to save catra before. “why did you do it?” “i don’t know what you’re talking about!” which is a lie but now that she really gets to see the consequences of her rage and anguish filled actions, i don’t think catra can properly explain it either. she was just so angry and she had built this narrative in her head that it was adora’s fault, and so she just wanted to do everything that adora didn’t want her to do. except u failed catra😔 adora wants you to love her and you do, you do love her😔 oopsie😔 you just don’t show it in healthy ways most of the time because your relationship is fraught with tragedy and abusive upbringings💔 adora gives up questioning catra for the moment because “there’s no time. we have to go.” catra grunts as adora’s childhood promise plays in her mind and it is overlaid with the adora of the present telling her “i promise, everything will be okay if we just stay together.” and goddamn adora really means it. she’s literally willing to patch everything up together even after everything if catra will just Decide right here, right now, to go with her. right then, the memory of adora first asking catra to come with her plays and adora is asking her, “help me fix this, please, this can’t be what you wanted” because adora knows! she knows how caught up catra was, in her pain and anger and desperation to win, to overcome all the times she lost growing up. she believed that catra, with her loving heart that saved adora everyday they knew each other growing up, could not have wanted to erase all of reality. to erase what they had. but just because adora knows that doesn’t mean catra does. all the rage and pain and resentment that led to her opening the portal, it is still there, and it is still affecting her judgement in a bad way, and by reminding her that she cannot just repress it all, that she cannot just play pretend with adora until their time is up,,,, this leads her to lash out again :( :( :( “don’t you get it? catra lunges for adora and fights with her, scratching and missing because adora is dodging and catra’s heart is too.... sigh..... she’s too fucking gay to really bring it ok? no matter how angry she is she still loves adora too much to give it her best. adora doesn’t fight back, mostly defending and pushing catra away. “catra, look what’s happening. you’re going to destroy everything!” catra stomped on her heart and she still wants to Convince her, which is really sad, for now, for both of them. and catra goes feral and is like “i don’t care! i won’t let you win. i’d rather see the whole world end than let that happen.” :( bro? this song is so sad. can we change it? sigh. catra is too far gone at the moment. everything, even the slightest concession to adora, even at the expense of existence, is like admitting defeat to catra. and when catra says she’d rather see the whole world end than let adora win, she’s also saying she’d let herself... die. and that is just so sad. bro who gave season three the right. like... i am so exhausted. i am just trying to call some bitches out for being gay, i did not sign up for all this pain. i am so exhausted. this episode is twenty odd minutes or so. you know how many hours i’ve spent writing this? it’s not anyone’s fault but mine for being extra, but man i am so tired. i love seeing catradora interact, but god, at what cost? the portal rips up the ground between them, and catra grabs at adora, clutching onto her badge. i cannot tell if she was just trying to take it off or she wanted to grab adora and pull her close too. “catra, no!” adora grabs catra’s wrist but the badge falls off and catra falls too. “catra!” catra is on some rock in the falling heap, and adora reaches for her but she’s too far away. still, she keeps her hand outstretched. but catra, who’s hanging on by a rock at this point, gives her this look of... almost helplessness. that then hardens into resentment and anger and she just. lets go. and adora, who has tears in her eyes, is just. she absolutely crumbles here. and she runs a good distance away and falls to her knees and just starts SOBBING. she is just crying so hard over losing catra AGAIN and it’s just. That’s Too Much, Man! thankfully, razz shows up and is like stop crying bitch u can still save her ❤️ so adora decides to stop crying for all time and gets to work❤️ 10/10 but also did i ask? :/ yes i did and i am in so much pain right now. my god what an episode

the portal: it’s so fucking refreshing not seeing catradora for a bit <3 i spent hours watching remember ok. here i am now starting the last ep at least a full week later because of how much it was. sometimes this show is too gay <3 i love it tho! i do <3 it’s just hard having to pause and replay every five seconds and write an essay about the tiniest thing <3 and i know what you’re thinking <3 no one asked me to do this <3 no one asked me to be so extra <3 and yet <3 anyway, more than half of the ep passes with adora losing bow and glimmer in the end, but as she’s crying on her knees again she lifts her head up and corrupted!catra touches her forehead with one finger. oh <3 that’s gay <3 anyway, catra’s here because she died but she’s got like nine lives so she’s back now and infected by the collapsing portal. oh great! we get what is probably the most cursed ḩ̵͕̺̯͚̞͈̰̤͎̥̗̳͂̽̃̄͌̎̅̈́̏̎͘͝͝ẻ̷͇͚͈̤̪̖̜̥̥̱̼̅̒͌͗͝y̴̥̺̓͌͊͌̊͒͌̏̔̕͝ ̶̧̟̤̠̯̱̳͕̙̯̔ͅá̶̤͉͕̱̰̮̺̮̝̗̱̲͓̺̯̒͐͐d̵̨̟̖̦̈̑̄̌̍̆̀̾̊̑̽͗͝͠ȏ̷̧̢̨̞̮͇̟̘̘̠̼̊͆̐̉̉̀̌̿̚ͅŗ̴̢̬͚͉̦̘̪̜̥̑̔̈́̀̒͂͗͜͠ͅą̸̡̡͕͈͚͕̼͔̳͔̖̙̯̱̓͗̊́. the look on adora’s face when she’s greeted with this is very interesting. she gives catra this little once over. on one hand, catra isn’t gone like adora thought when she had lost her into the collapsing portal, but also something about this catra definitely doesn’t look right. catra then proceeds to slam adora into another dimension. flat against the bar table in the crimson waste... and ngl it looks like. catra slammed her on the table for :/ stuff :/ that’s like :/ you know :/ banging :/ and adora even looks around for a moment because catra isn’t there and adora’s thinking damn where u at catra? :/ so you didn’t slam me against this table for... no? :( we aren’t gonna slam ass? :( but then surprise surprise! catra straddles her at the last moment! adora gasps and catra is like oh... where are your friends? in that unsettling corrupted tone. notice how adora has been silent this entire time. so horny you couldn’t speak bitch? :/ sadly, catra lunges for adora and adora realizes that catra is still evil and that she isn’t going to kiss her gently on the lips after all 😔 adora grabs catra by the arm and pulls her close. she puts her other hand on catra’s shoulder. adora baby.... you don’t need to touch her with both hands. are you that gay? yes. why am i even asking that question. “catra, stop. you have to–“ catra pushes her face aside. “it’s always the same with you, adora. i have to do this, oh we have to do that!” and then they’re like gay struggling against each other? and catra pulls adora up and holds her tight against her, adora’s arm bent over catra’s shoulder to keep her there. then with her other arm she wraps her elbow around adora’s other arm to further restrain her? and then she puts her face right against adora’s cheek. i don’t know how to explain this. it’s just. homoerotic. damn the gays fight like this? catra then tosses adora aside and they land somewhere else. catra says like things to adora that are about her insecurities and stuff. but i’m not gonna get into those <3 isn’t that so sexy of me? instead i will say this. catra kind of like fights one sidedly with adora a lot in this segment where they go through various locations we’ve seen in the show, and she like talks a lot of shit. but let’s focus on how adora’s feeling <3 she goes through it like this. 1) not horny anymore! i’m scared/insecure/angry with catra now 2) catra throws adora into the big chair on mara’s ship and catra slams her hand against it next to adora’s face like how someone might do before you kiss them in movies 3) horny again 4) catra doesn’t say sorry for the mean things corrupted her said and she didn’t kiss her gently on the lips so adora gets her shit together and realizes all the things evil corrupted catra is saying is not her fault! she pushes catra away and is like “i didn’t make you pull the switch. i didn’t make you do anything! i didn’t break the world, but i am gonna fix it. and you? you made your choice. now live with it!” and in between all that she fights back against catra and at the end she does you know that punch we all know about. but after the punch she calms down from that emotional breakthrough high and gets this :( face. at the end of the day... no matter how far gone catra went, no matter how right she was in setting those boundaries and making it clear catra has to be responsible for her actions, adora cares. adora loves her, it’s the one thing she can’t help. and to see catra sink so deep into the darkness... it hurts her. adora watches catra disintegrate when they fall into the wormhole thing that the portal caused, and she has this like. >:( :( look because adora’s planning to fix everything anyway, the upsetting thing here for her is that she failed to make catra see sense. catra’s likely going back to the horde when all of this is over and there’s nothing adora can do about it. and at the moment i don’t think adora wants to try anymore after failing so many times... which is good for her! but also they are both going to be so sad after this </3 after the whole angella scene (miss that milf) adora gets the sword back and becomes she ra again. we go back to the scene in the horde and catra clutches the side of her face, so we know that was her but it also wasn’t Her, you know? like part of her face got corrupted by the portal and she just had to make sure she was real and whole again. adora comes back as she-ra and destroys the portal, prompting catra to escape. but she looks back at the last moment, looks back angrily, and adora gives her an equally hard stare. she’s done with catra, for the moment, and catra realizes this, and it kind of hits her that this adora is different now. and for a moment she is sad and afraid, but she pulls it together to make a mean face again, before running away. 9/10

okay i finished arise so here are some thoughts:

(non-spoiler thoughts first, spoilers below the cut)

combat is very fun. everybody is fun to play as. i am bad at game but i still had a ton of fun trying everyone out in the arena

boost artes and strikes are good and useful. mystic artes are real easy to trigger, even advanced ones. i’ve triggered some of the advanced ones by accident, that’s how easy they are

i was dubious about the skit style change at first but i got used to it, and it’s fine.

camping is good and i loved the little scenes you could get between party members

the world is gorgeous. the painting style they went with really just looks amazing.

okay, spoiler time

some specific thoughts on characters first:

alphen: he’s fine. i’ve been spoiled by velvet in all honesty because i love a protag who isn’t all Good and alphen is definitely Good. they did a good job keeping the mystery of his past going and he has a lot of very nice interactions with other party members. he’s fine.

shionne: my wife is a bitch and i like her so much. shionne has a good arc and the way her relationships with each of the party members grows feels really natural. saw the reveal about her thorns coming a mile away but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. i care her and want her to be happy. I especially like her very cute friendship with rinwell

rinwell: baby. rinwell also has a really good arc! the way her opinion on renans changes over the course of the story feels very natural - she doesn’t immediately stop hating renans after meeting shionne and dohalim and even after she grows to love them she still occasionally slips up. she’s good. i like her

law: baby #2. most of law’s story is front-loaded which had him feeling a bit detached as far as the story went in the later chapters but i still very much enjoyed having him around. he’s a sweet idiot. he’s absolutely a teenager.

dohalim: i love him. consistently good interactions with other party members, he has very good scenes with alphen, shionne, and rinwell. i was VERY pleased that he got a lot of focus during the lenegis part of the game. i loved his arc of learning to cope with his guilt and growing from a Ruler into a Leader.

kisara: i wanted to like kisara. i really did. i tried. i kept hoping for a magilou moment (aka a single moment late in the game where everything crystallised and i fell in love with them) but it never came. and i’m sad about that because there are some genuinely cool things about her! there are good bones! she has some really nice interactions with alphen! unfortunately a lot of her scenes end up being either her talking about her brother or her trying to mother everyone and i am just.... not here for that

overall i liked the party. they’re not my fave but i did like almost everyone quite a bit. i felt like their evolution from working together out of necessity to found family way very well done. it was natural. i keep saying “natural” because the arcs really did feel that way. they flowed nicely and almost never felt forced or hurried. it was nice!

now, because this game has basically attempted to pair up all of the party members.... the ship opinions....

alphen/shionne: holy shit tales did a het ship that didn’t feel forced! their relationship flows very nicely and they grow closer slowly over the course of the game. i don’t feel like it’s a luke/tear tier canon ship but it’s good. Them getting married in the end credits was very cute

law/rinwell: very very cute. not entirely sold on rinwell’s feelings but that’s fine, it reads pretty much entirely like law has a crush and has decided that saving the world isn’t really the time to bring that up. it’s cute.

dohalim/kisara: bad. bad. bad. i’m glad it’s just tease because i can pretend it’s not happening. they have some really good platonic moments! they have a nice dynamic as people learning to be equals! it’s extremely uncomfortable to throw romance into that mix! and i feel like it was a *huge* disservice to kisara for the writing to push her into this ship. it just felt bad. not to mention this alongside the haha she’s like his mum jokes just ughghghhghghghghgghhg NO.

as far as the plot goes, it was pretty good. we had a clear goal from the beginning which is always appreciated, only to have the rug pulled out from under us at the end in usual tales fashion. i saw somewhere someone said it had a plot structure sort of like legendia and LMAO TRUE with the one month time skip. the game as a whole reminded me quite a bit of tales of rebirth funnily enough - similar plot structure, themes regarding race dynamics, some nebulous force being the cause of a lot of suffering... it’s a tales plot. it’s not particularly groundbreaking but the characters really carried it and made it compelling. also i just loved the design of the final dungeon. the thorns are Aesthetic.

The main problems I had with the game were the amount of spelling mistakes in the subtitles, or where the subtitles didn't match the dialogue. It's most noticeable with the battle lines but happened in other places too. I didn't have a problem with CP because I kept an eye on it and I was playing easy mode but i can see it being more than a little bit of a pain. Like. Why? And also, just as a side note, did they ever mention how shionne got to dahna? Because I might have just missed it but HOW DID SHE GET HERE? did she come down for the crown contest and just chill for seven years? Did she steal a starship and come down by herself - in which case what happened to her ship that we couldn't use it to get to lenegis? This feels like an important piece of information that we just.... never find out.

speaking of reminding me of other tales: oh boy! there were a lot of times i felt reminded of older titles, which made me real glad i’ve played almost all of them now. i talked about legendia and rebirth vibes above but also MASSIVE graces nostalgia what with going to space. i know twin worlds could be referencing a number of games too but the specific dahna/lenegis/rena structure reminded me a lot of eternia with inferia/orbus barrier/celestia and it was just nice. i can’t remember where? maybe pelegion? but the general aesthetic gave me big xillia vibes. i’m not sure how many of these were deliberately intended to invoke nostalgia but i’m glad for it - it really felt like a love letter to older titles (like zesty was supposed to be) while also clearly moving towards a new future for the series.

I'm not sure how I felt about there not being much of a primary antagonist. I guess it helped push the theme of forgiveness because really how can you blame a sentient planet for everything wrong with the world when it has no concept of human morality. I guess it's just my personal preference since I prefer the conflict to be a clash of ideals or wills (again, I'm spoiled by berseria). The sidequest where you get tiny little bits about the lords felt tacked on too. The lords largely felt cartoonishly evil but I guess that's probably so we don't feel bad killing them lmao. Vholran needed a whole lot more build-up IMO as a foil to alphen because he ended up feeling like he was just... there. There wasn't much to him. I wanted to know more about why he was the way he was but I guess we'll just never know.

overall i wouldn’t say arise is one of my favourite games but it was definitely an enjoyable experience! i’d absolutely recommend playing it yourself if you get the chance!

Gonna say right now this episode already has VERY large boots to fill, my only prior experience with Tython is when my DM took our party there in the Star Wars RPG I’m playing in atm and we had a blast doing stuff like negotiating peace between warring peoples, finding lost children, visiting and exploring the very temple Din and the baby will be going to, AND we got attacked by Imps and I got to steal and drive an AT-AT. Idk how to make Tython better than that xD

“Stay”

Such a simple and utterly useless word. It was nothing but unfulfilled promises and just a cheap way of showing that they cared before their backs turned and they walked out again and again.

He stopped going back. He stopped waiting and wishing for the others to stay for him, so instead he made them all leave. Forgot about brotherhood or relationships, he blocked them out years ago. It was easier that way.

“Stay.”

Every single girl he dated asked for that. To stay and be tied down by a piece of metal that held nothing. He thought about it honestly, once. He thought about giving his heart over, back when it was used for emotion, but now it sits in his chest cavity pumping blood and remaining as black and cold as a prison cell on a winter's night. He would know, he’s been there plenty.

Hotel rooms were the place to be. There was no commitment, no second words and especially no staying. He didn’t care to stay as the sun rose into the sky, whoever had the misfortune of being with him that night would wake to an empty bed with tumbled sheets and a pounding in their head as they desperately tried to remember his face. They couldn’t and neither could he.

No names, no numbers, no nothing. Nothing.

If he had the choice, he would rip out his heart completely. The mind was the only tool he needed but sometimes it would snake in an idea from long ago and make his heart shake a little before he would slam back another bottle of the finest alcohol money could buy and make it sit in the darkness until he was ready to do it all over again.

Years passed since the faithful day. The one that made his heart shrink to the size of a speck of dust.

“You should go.”

“But-”

“Just go, you obviously don’t care!” She had screamed and it stung. A slap across the face or the shattering of a car window, he had broken.

He did care! He wanted to scream. He cared too much to watch her leave but that wasn’t enough. He...he wasn’t enough.

The only thing that ever kept his mind occupied besides the wild thoughts and white noise, was her voice.

The breaking of each syllable as she held her hands over her heart as if she was surrendering. The way her eyes had been so bright and kind then that light banished and replaced with stone. A gorgeous pink stone that cut him like a knife when he took a step forward. Her lips quivered and she tried to find peace within herself but she couldn’t. She might be everything nice, but she held herself to standards, one apparently he couldn’t reach.

“G-go” He didn’t want to believe it and maybe she didn’t either but the only time he had ever wanted to stay, he didn’t.

He soon took her advice like a bull being branded. Go. Go. Go. Staying was never an option, not anymore, she made that clear.

He would wake up in cold sweats, the chemical x leaking from his pores and almost setting his sheets on fire, curse these fucking powers. The look on her face of pure heartbreak, he thought they were together for the long haul, he thought that she loved him, so why didn’t she stay?

And so those next few months would be spent begging and pleading, he was no bitch but his jeans had ripped holes in them from being on his knees, desperately craving for her meek attention, but she would never give in. Time and time again he would be sent away. Roses would die on her porch and the chocolates would melt even in the winter. He just watched the fire between them die silently.

“Go.”

“I don’t want to.”

“Go.” And he would be on his way.

His mind doesn’t remember the last time he was there. But in the back of his head be begged that she had missed him. That she would realize he hadn’t shown up and soon she would come running like she used to. His arms would be open ready to catch her like the love sick puppies they were.

But there was now brick wall between them. At first it was like a tower of cards, then glass, then a shield. All of them breakable until he could see her paving the cement and closing him off for good.

All he wanted to do was stay as the last brick was placed. But you can only graffiti the same wall so many times, or bang your fists until they bled and leaked onto the carpet. Sometimes his thick skull was a curse.

Over time the booze and cheap thrills would allow him to regain his balance before falling off the face of the earth. His brothers stopped looking along time ago as the darkness took in again and again. There was nothing in the world that would ever pull him from his own demise.

And then the months turned to years. And his fire powers couldn’t melt his heart and he even toyed with the idea of settling down and staying for some girl he barely knew and just allowing life to pass meekly. Watching the sky go from blue to black over and over again until his grave was the only view point.

The coffee from the small shop burned his tongue but he allowed it. Sometimes pain was all he could feel and he thrived for that small feeling of something.

And that voice that played on repeat like a broken record player sounded and he knew it didn’t come from within. Instead he turned his head and saw her. The one with the key to his heart dangling on her fingers as she approached him after all those years.

Like a ghost from his past, her mere presence was enough to shake him from the inside out. A chilling freeze kissing the back of his neck before scrapping into his bones.

He didn’t remember what had happened next as they talked as if nothing in the past had happened. She got older and so did he. She looked well and the stone had broken down to reveal the crystal underneath. The apologies came as fast as the tears and he felt that warmth in his chest spread as everything he wanted came back to him.

The moment where she would return to him and they would have the life they always wanted. They were dumb and she was still desperately in love with him, as was he. That smile and flush of cheeks had brought his own to his lips and he wasted no time with small talk even if it did fill the white noise.

The sound of her saying she was wrong and that she tried to run back and tear down that brick wall. Those tears she shed and the cries echoed in his mind as he held her.

He felt his heart pump more than blood and that echo of running had been silenced as he stared into her eyes like he did when they were lovesick fools. The countless flashbacks of him holding her while they sway to music or talk about whatever came to mind. The bashful arguments about who was right about a historical quote would die off as his lips pressed to hers and she would kiss him back as if to prove to the world she loved him.

It all came back and happened so fast like being swept under a current. She laid by his side, eyelashes batting and the words that echoed on her tongue were the ones he avoided for years.

“Stay”

And she repeated it. He felt the balance of the world level and finally the darkness had given him back his light. The bright pink light he didn’t know was this bright and he was afraid he was going to be electrified by her, but he loved it. He loved her.

And the sweat this time was more than fire and ice. It burned his body to an extreme he had never felt before and he thought the universe was about to end him for good. His breathing was rapid as the light to the lamp was flipped on.

His face was wet with tears. He almost forgot what it felt like to have an emotion other than emptiness. He was waiting for a hand to come on his back. The soft voice to soothe him to a steady heartbeat but in the glow of the light, there was nothing.

The sheets were tumbled and tangled around one of his legs and he looked around for a trace of her. But there was nothing. Lips quivering and body shaking, he scrunched the empty sheets that held no one but him into his fists. The red glow dying as his heart, that pumped blood, calmed down.

She was never here, he should have known. There was nothing but lost time and heartbreak as he fell back onto the bed and let the bottle of tears flow free.

His voice barely above a whisper as he stared at the ceiling that was almost completely black due to lack of light and remembered a time where they were by each other's sides, too long ago to the point that the memory was like a phantom.

“Stay.”

A/N: I was not expecting this to turn out the way it did. Sorry, anon, if you just wanted some cute fluff (I promise there’s a happy ending). I’ve never written angst before it just sort of came out this way. Regardless, I hope you enjoy!

“Are you sure you have everything?” your brother asked. “You’ve got your costume and all of your textbooks?”

“For the last time, Takami, I’m all set,” you laughed. “Stop being a worrisome little bitch and just let me go to school.”

The pro hero laughed and pulled you into a tight hug, giving you a nuggie in the process. You tried flapping your wings in an attempt to get away, but his grip was too strong. “Knock ‘em dead, tiger,” he said, finally letting you go.

You smiled and waved him off as you ran to UA campus. This is it, you thought. This is where I will become one of the greatest heros.

“Class 1-a,” you said to yourself. “Where are you where are you where– Ouch!” You didn’t realize but had run into another student, one with a hardening quirk it seemed. When you ran into him it seemed to have startled him and he activated his quirk in self defense.

The boy turned around from the conversation he was having and looked down at you. “Oh crap I’m so sorry,” he said. He watched as you slowly brought your hand down from your nose, revealing it to be bruised and bloody.

“It’s fine,” you said, not realizing how bad the situation actually was. “Does it look bad?” You looked up at the boy, whose eyes sunk back at the sight in front of him.

“Looks...fine,” he said, although you could tell he was lying by the look on the person’s face he was talking to earlier. The blonde boy was shaking his head vigorously signifying that no, it did not look fine. “Why don’t I walk you to recovery girl’s office.”

You nodded and walked with the red head. “I’m Kirishima by the way,” he said.

“(L/n).” Your hand was cupped under your nose in order to catch any blood. Your wings started to twitch as the pain from your nose finally began to sink in.

“Sorry for asking this, I mean you probably get it a lot, but are you related to the number three pro hero Hawks?” Kirishima had the look of ebullience spread across his face.

You laughed a little, but pulled back as that made the pain worse. “Yeah I do get that a lot,” you said. “He’s actually my older brother.”

“No way!” The excitement in Kirishima’s voice was unprecedented, cute almost. “What’s he like?”

You smiled. You knew you would be bombarded with questions about the hero which you were not looking forward to. But this was not what you expected. You supposed you could handle one-on-one questions about your brother. “Well I’m a little biased because he can be super annoying,” you said. “He’s like a worrying mother when it comes to me,” you said. “But he’s really determined when it comes to his hero work.”

“Awesome,” Kirishima said. His eyes were wide, like those of a puppy being shown a delicious treat. “So manly!”

From there on out, you and Kirishima became best friends. You ate lunch together, trained together, and he even convinced Bakugo to let you study with them. Kirishima was your partner in crime. The two of you were invincible if you stuck together.

You were at home, sprawled across the couch, texting Kirishima when Takami came into the living room. “Hey,” he said, making his way to the fridge for the leftover takeout from the night before. “How was school?”

But you didn’t hear him. You were smiling at your phone as you watched the typing symbol pop up, the three dots moving up and down.

Your brother frowned at you when you gave no response. He walked up to you and swiped the phone out of your hands.

“Hey!” You tried grabbing it back, but he was pushing your face away as he read the texts.

“Who is Kiri heart emoji?” he asked, showing you that cheesy grin he would give you whenever he knew he’d be able to embarrass you.

“H-he’s no one.” You pulled off two of your feathers and point them directly at him.

Your brother widened his eyes, impressed and a little flattered that you had been practicing one of his ultimate moves. “Alright alright,” he said, cautiously handing your phone back to you. But the smirk never left his face. “I won’t pry.”

You took the phone back, but found yourself disappointed when you saw the three dots in the typing bubble were still bouncing up and down. You continued staring until they stopped and your eyes widened, only to receive a laughing crying emoji seconds later.

Your disappointment didn’t go unnoticed by your brother. “You know,” he said. “I’m not telling you that you can’t date anyone.”

“Stop,” you said, not looking up.

“There’s nothing wrong with liking someone.”

“I don’t like him so stop, please.”

Your brother nodded at you but he knew you were lying. Not only to him but to yourself. And that lying to yourself went on for a while. It got to the point where you began actively avoiding Kirishima, just to prove a point.

“Did I do something wrong?” Kiri asked you one day.

“Not at all.” You refused to look up from the book you were pretending to read.

“Because I feel like we were becoming really close friends and now you’re ignoring me all of a sudden.” He went to scratch the back of his neck. “Did I say something?”

You felt your face get hot. You didn’t want to have this conversation. Not here, not now, not ever. “You didn’t do anything.” Then you stood up and left, not realizing how heartbroken you had left your best friend.

A month went by and you continued to avoid Kirishima like the plague, and by doing that, you ended up convincing yourself that you hated him. You wouldn’t speak to him or even look in his direction. After school you went straight over to your brother’s agency where you would continue training your quirk. You got strong. You trained outside of class almost as much as Midoriya did. And people could tell you had gotten stronger.

“(L/n) that was awesome!” You looked over and smiled at Uraraka, who was watching you train in Gym Gamma.

“Heh. Thanks.”

She handed you a towel and you wiped your face and under your arms with it. You hadn’t tried anything that rigorous in a while, so you were panting like a dog. You turned around after hearing the all too familiar voice of Bakugo yelling. “Hey shitty hair! Pay attention or I’m gonna blast you so far up in the air you’re not gonna remember your own name.”

You turned your head to face Kirishima, or “shitty hair” as Bakugo liked to call him. He was staring at you, watching you train.

“You know,” Uraraka said. You snapped your head to look at her. “He really misses you. You should talk to him about what happened.”

“Nothing happened,” you said. Your eyes averted to the ground and you fidgeted with the towel. You were still panting heavily.

“You can’t lie to me, (L/n),” Uraraka said. “I know that you have a huge crush on him and just refuse to admit it.”

“I don’t like him,” you snapped. “I hate him.” Your face began turning red. You truly despise him. At least you’d like to believe you do.

“Okay,” Uraraka said. “Let’s pretend you really hate him.”

“I do,” you snapped at her.

“Okay okay.” She shot her hands up defensively. “Why do you hate him?”

You were at a loss for words. Why do I hate him? “I just do.”

“But you two were best friends at the beginning of the school year. What happened to make you hate him like this?”

You paused, thinking about your words before speaking up. “I don’t know. He just...aggravates me so much. Like every time I look at him this pit forms in my stomach and I can’t stand it.” You clench your stomach with your hand and hunched over to sit on the gym floor. “It’s like he’s messing with my brain and I get all hot around him, and I can’t stand him for it.”

Uraraka looked at you, expecting you to continue. When you didn’t, she just laughed. “(L/n),” she said. “The way you feel around Kirishima is the way I feel around Deku.”

Your angry expression dropped. “Huh? But Midoriya is one of your best friends. Besides, I thought you had the hots for him.”

“Exactly!” She threw her arms up in the air for emphasis. “(L/n), have you ever had a crush on someone?”

You thought for a moment. Surely there was someone you’d liked in the past. But looking back, you couldn’t think of anyone. “I’m not sure I’ve ever liked anyone like that.”

“But you like Kirishima like that.” She gave you a cheeky smirk.

“No I don’t!” you all but shrieked. A couple people training looked over at you, but you paid them no mind. “Besides isn’t falling for someone supposed to be, i dunno, magical? I feel like absolute crap around him.”

“That’s the thing, though.” Uraraka looked down and smiled to herself, getting caught up in her own thoughts. “When you care about someone that much it can do weird things to you, and when you see them having fun with another person, that can make you feel crappy. That crappy feeling is jealousy.”

You turned back to look at Kirishima, who was laughing at something Bakugo said. You felt that pit form in your stomach again. “But I also feel this pit when he’s alone or even when he’s trying to talk or text me.”

Uraraka giggled again. “It’s not just jealousy. It’s a longing to be with them. It’s your mind telling you to go to them in a bizaar sort of way. Love is kind of stupid that way, but when you finally confess it’ll be like a weight off your chest.”

You thought about it for a second. “Does this mean you’re in love with Midoriya,” you asked. The same cheeky grin she gave your earlier spread across your own face as she turned even pinker than before.

“Love? No no love isn’t how I’d put it,” she said in a frantic manner. “Did I say love? I meant above like ahh look above. Haha yeah that!”

You laughed. She was so calm before and now she was a flustered mess. “It’s okay,” you said. “I promise I won’t tell.”

That got her to relax a little, but her face was still bright red.

You sighed and looked over at Kirishima, who was dodging Bakugo’s attacks. “If this is what love feels like I never want to be in love again.” Telling Uraraka made your stomach feel a bit lighter, but looking back at Kiri it was still there.

Uraraka stood up. “You should talk to him,” she said. “I guarantee it’ll make you feel better.”

It took a lot of convincing to get you to talk to him. After class you stayed in the bathroom for thirty minutes feeling like you were going to puke. When you finally convinced yourself to approach him you noticed it was raining; lightly, but it was still raining.

Your umbrella was large since you hated the feeling of having wet wings. But when you saw Kirishima sitting on a bench outside of campus you couldn’t care less about them. His legs were spread and he resting his elbows on his knees, head in hands as if he were contemplating something.

You walked over to him and stuck your umbrella out over his head, making him look up at you. There the two of you were, making intense eye contact that couldn’t be broken. You were the first one to speak. “I’m sorry I’ve been such an asshole lately.” You looked down as that pit in your stomach came back. You tried to ignore it. “You’ve been nothing but kind to me since we started school here. I even thought of you as my best friend.”

The breath in Kirishima’s lungs hitched, but he didn’t interrupt you.

You continued looking down at your shoes, not having the courage to look back up at him. “I don’t deserve your friendship, but if we could start over and if you could give me a second chance I promise that I will do better.”

Kirishima let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. He waited a few seconds before speaking up. “Why did you ignore me, though? It just feels like out of nowhere you started hating me and I don’t know why.”

You finally looked up at him. The soft tears flowing steadily from your eyes and down your cheeks made took him by surprise. “I never hated you,” you said. “I think I’m in love with you.”

His mouth was agape. He slowly stood up as you started to crumble down before him into a sobbing mess. He held you in his strong arms as you wept, apologizing over and over again. And he kept saying it’s alright even though you knew it wasn’t. The two of you stayed like that for a long time; too long to count. Your umbrella was long gone by now, having been blown away by the wind. The rain had picked up to a heavier pitter-patter on the sidewalk.

“(Y/n),” he said, looking down at you. You looked up at him with pleading eyes, as he had yet to answer your question. “I’ve thought about it for a while. And, I think I might be in love with you too.”

At that moment you let out the biggest sob you could imagine. It was more of a scream than anything. You thought you had let out all of the tears in your body, as for the last few minutes you were only letting out dry tears while making constipated looking faces in an attempt to cry. But in that moment you never felt so gross.

Kirishima held you closer and shifted his position so he was sitting on the bench and you were being cradled in his lap. When you had finally calmed down you never wanted to leave that position. Kiri’s lap was so comfortable. It made you feel so secure.

“Can you forgive me?” You asked. The back of your throat felt like it was on fire as it swelled with old tears and mucus. Your senses were logged with the overpowering smell of rain water.

“That depends,” Kirishima said, a smirk gracing his face. “Will you be my girlfriend?”

You looked like you were about to cry again, but you didn’t. Instead you nodded your head vigorously, and Kirishima laughed. Neither of you had felt this happy in a very long time.

Everyone was surprised the next day when you and Kirishima were talking with each other just like old times. It was almost like the last month never happened. All of your friends, except Uraraka of course, asked question after question. “Are you guys friends again?” and “What's up with you and Kirishima?” kept ringing through your ears. But everyone caught on to what was happening when the entire class walked in on you guys making out in the classroom when you thought they’d all be gone for a while.

You two were the power couple of your class. I mean, it helped that you were the only couple of your class, but the two of you were practically inseparable. You continued going strong throughout the rest of your first semester, and you got even stronger second semester.

That brings us to where you are today, lounging on the floor or Kirishima’s dorm room, flipping through a textbook you were barely skimming.

“Can I say something?” he said.

Your ears perked up. “What’s up?” You closed the textbook with a loud thud.

“The first day we met, you know when you told me Hawks is your brother...”

“You mean the day you accidentally broke my nose?” You laughed.

“Well I had this idea,” he said, purposely avoiding the fact that your first interaction was a particularly bloody one. “For a ship name.”

Your eyes widened and the smile on his face grew bigger. “Well don’t leave me hanging!” you said, and he laughed.

“Alright alright alright. Rock Solid Chicken.”

You blinked a few times, trying your hardest to ignore the fact that your brother eats chicken and other birds on a day to day basis. You burst out laughing. Not only because it was kind of ridiculous, but because you actually kind of liked it.

“What do you think?” Kiri looked like puppy.

“Yeah yeah, hot wings,” you said. “Alright, I’ll admit it’s pretty good.”

“Hot wings?” Kirishima asked.

Your face was already flushed from laughing so hard, but as he looked at you with a devilish smirk you could feel your cheeks grow hotter. “Hey,” you said. “I see it how it is.”

“In that case,” Kirishima stood up and hardened his skin. He flexed even harder, showing off his muscles. “I’ll take that as a compliment.”

Okay, well, here you go. A chapter by chapter breakdown of Kylo’s feelings during the course of Fix Your Attitude. I did my best. Sorry this is so fucking long.

In Chapter 1, I think he’s genuinely just irritated by her. Annoyed that he hears her so constantly in his head. It’s fucking annoying because she’s a big-time complainer, and he’s a busy dude.

Chapter 3, similar issue. But, it’s growing from irritation to fury. Ren gets his wires crossed pretty easily at this point. I don’t think he recognizes this as attraction, but he senses her fascination with him and goes, eh, can use that to get control over the situation.

Chapter 4, seriously playing into that feeling. Her inability to respect him is driving him up the wall, a little bit, and the thought of making her shut up is growing more and more enticing. I think at this point, she’s on his mind rather frequently.

Chapter 5… man he just fucks her face Idk, feels good to make her shut the fuck up. There’s no affection here, I don’t think he feels any in the least.

Chapter 6, that entire distraction and the fire–I don’t think he feels bad at all, but he does enjoy her dedication to her job. I think that’s engaging to him.

Chapter 7, there some desire to chill out her rage–he’s been thinking about her on his dick constantly, at this point, but isn’t necessarily ready to just fuck the engineer who works on his ship, more so just hoping to control her. When she says, “You don’t know what you’re missing”–that’s very exciting for him, the confidence, the snark. I think that sparks a little affection.

Chapter 8, he’s jealous. I mean, he doesn’t recognize it as jealousy, but internally he has this unacknowledged desire to be important in her life–he isn’t aware of this, and wouldn’t have any idea how to make that happen other than demanding it, anyway.

Chapter 9 is all about making it Spacebook Official (get it) and banging it out. He’s like, cool, handled that, fucked her, it’s out of my system, I won’t need to worry about it in the future. Genuinely enjoys her company–so when she asks to spend more time with him, there’s that tiny little part of him that’s like, “I want that.”

Chapter 10, more jealousy. Just getting control, because he can, because he has no way of understanding or communicating his attraction to this person.

Chapter 11, power and control, of course–he’s beginning to grow attached to what he hears in her head, not consciously, of course, but when she thinks, ugh, I wish I could see the ship take off, he’s like, she should see that. When she cries, it nags at him, which he fucking hates. He’s like well, her feelings are annoying, but she doesn’t have to sleep in a cot. She should be near me.

Chapter 12, he’s struggling deeply with this desire to know her better. He can’t figure out how to channel it other than sexually. It bugs the shit out of him. There’s just this constant, pulsing need in the back of his head to fuck this person.

Chapter 13, similar to above. As explored in Chapter 38, he is kind of blown away by what he feels, by her attachment to him. I think at this point she is the most persistent sexual relationship he’s had in a long-ass time. He allows himself to give in to that desire for warmth and affection. I mean, shit, he’s Kylo Ren. The light calls SOMETIMES, bitch.

Chapter 14, she straight up breaks his trust and he fucking loses it. The one time he extends himself with even the slightest vulnerability, it’s taken advantage of. But after he fucks her within an inch of her life, he feels some desire to make sure she’s at least alive. He can’t bring himself to care more than that, because, uh, betrayal, but. Y’know.

Chapter 15, she apologizes, which kind of blows his mind, because I don’t think anyone in his life has ever apologized to him for anything that’s happened to him at this point. He sees her bruise, feels a little guilty for losing it on her.

Chapter 16, the attachment to Sam is getting out of hand for him. He wants control over it, having absolutely no understanding of why she does not feel realistically beholden to him in any way, LOL. Like, excuse me, I get to fuck you, isn’t that enough? What other needs do you have?

Chapter 17, he wants to y’know, enjoy time with her, because again–genuine appreciation of her company–but she can’t stop crossing his boundaries and pissing him the fuck off. Despite that, he wants her around. She thinks, surely there’d been other women, and he’s like, yeah, of course, and she’s like, okay, so… why me? Well of course he doesn’t fucking know, he’s just like, “Idk bitch I like your pussy whatever.”

Chapter 19–explored in Chapter 38. she’s fucked Sam and he is completely fucking devastated. She has to literally spell it out for him that she requires more than just his dick. The choice between vulnerability (painful) and losing her (at this point, even more fucking painful) is made, so he opens up to her in his own way. I think he truly views her as a type of possession at this point, maybe like an actual pet–in that he feels strong attachment to her, but doesn’t process it as anything meaningful, he just knows he likes it and wants it and it feels good and that’s good enough.

Chapter 21, he just expresses his desire to possess her completely–he wants power, he wants to be the only thing ever on her mind because only then he will feel secure and unthreatened. Disbelief that she will miss him. A flicker of tenderness, he snuffs it out.

Chapter 22, his fear regarding her sadness flies out of control, he restrains his need to escalate into sex because he for once, recognizes that will not fix the situation.

Chapter 23, once Snoke threatens to kill her, he does everything possible to prevent that. He is, of course, wretchedly anguished at the idea of not being able to be near her anymore (and essentially get what he wants, boohoo), but the thought of her being dead is even worse.

Chapter 25, already explored in Chapter 38. Self-explanatory anyway haha.

Chapter 26, he has a deep need to be humiliated and hurt by her because of how he feels about her and how he feels about himself. She is the perfect and only person capable of providing him with that release.

Chapter 27, there’s a lack of restraint, at this point. The trigger of her thoughts is too enticing for him. She is always on his mind, he can’t help himself. Reckless, bitch!

Chapter 28, he’s overwhelmed with hatred for himself as he fucks her–like, she gets him to a place where his emotions are more volatile, because of how he feels about her. So he kind of breaks down. Her company is comforting to him. Explored in 38.

Chapter 30, her insistence to be involved in his personal life is far too threatening to him. He feels like at his point he’s done enough, why the hell does he owe her what he’s doing with Rey & co? Totally oblivious.

Chapter 31, covered in 38.

Chapter 32, the reality of almost losing her for real has totally shook him to his core. He has cracked, at this point, is willing to surround her with what she is asking for, even if it is tremendously difficult for him. He really enjoys it, surprisingly, but it’s very foreign to him. I think at this point, he’s thinking she’s more than a possession, but still not on the level of partner. He just knows he needs her in his life.

Chapter 33, just… Idk they have fun together, man. They’re both little snarky bitches, they have a good time.

Chapter 34, explored in 38.

Chapter 36, Snoke has recognized how fucked up he’s been since separating from her, he’s like, fine, fuck her if it helps. Kylo does not understand what he’s feeling is love–he believes that because it strengthens him, it must be the opposite of. Overwhelmed with a desire to keep her because he cannot articulate this feeling, hence the violent sex.

Chapter 38, self-explanatory.

I finally finished Azure Moon!! Can’t believe it took me 4 damn months to finish this route. Just like with Crimson Flower, I decided to do a very long write up of my thoughts of this route after letting my thoughts marinate for a bit. There will be spoilers for both Azure Moon and Crimson Flower. Also disclaimer: these are just my personal opinions.

Tldr: this route was so fucking good!!!! I jumped ship from being team Edie/BE to team Dimitri/BL faster than Sylvain jumps girlfriends because I enjoyed this route more than Crimson Flower in almost every way possible. The Blue Lions are my KIDS and I will die for each and every one of them. Blue Lions may not be my first route/house, but this is where my heart rightfully lies.

I guess the first thing I should get out of the way are the negatives. While this isn’t really a complaint about AM specifically and more so the narrative over the entire game... the conflict between Edelgard and Dimitri seems really stupid and contrived. In other games, war happens because the villain is evil. In this game, war happens because the villain is fucking stupid. Basically, I still ain’t convinced that Edelgard’s war was ever necessary LMAO. She straight up nuked the church’s authority and relevancy out of orbit the chapter before the time skip, so she technically already accomplished her goal; why she still feels the need to go on a savage conquest alludes me.

Speaking of nuking the church’s relevancy out of orbit, that’s exactly what happened to Rhea LOL. Despite all the church goons clamoring every .5 seconds about how they gotta save Rhea, we literally never see her again at all after the time skip, even at the end of the game. It makes no sense why Edelgard would keep Rhea imprisoned and not kill her, especially when Rhea seemingly served no greater purpose to Edelgard and became completely irrelevant in the war phase.

Edie says some mumbo jumbo of “I weighed the victims of this war against the victims of the world and I deem that there will be less victims of war” like bitch, how??? How do you tangibly quantify “victims of this world”. If she means “people who had a shitty life because of shitty society”, then those people are always going to exist because every society has its flaws. Even if you change society, you aren’t decreasing that number because you’re only solving problems by creating new ones (Edelgard’s specialty). Also the mental gymnastics you have to do to be tortured by an evil organization only to team up with said evil organization to take down another organization that, unless I missed something, isn’t even directly responsible for the death of all your siblings??? In both CF and AM, Edelgard comes off as incredibly thoughtless and illogical in her actions and I can’t help but feel that if she had been just a little bit more diplomatic, then maybe, just maybe, she could have found a better solution without starting a bloody war.

This brings me to the god forsaken chat between Edelgard and Dimitri. Dimitri demanding to know why Edelgard started the war only for her to go “it was the only way” has about the same narrative weight as “Riku why did you become one with the darkness?!” “Because I’m the worst”. Instead of bitching about whose ~ideals~ are better, how about y’all sit down and actually discuss what each person wants to accomplish and maybe figure out a way to accomplish these goals without murdering each other over it? Not that I think Edelgard would accept anything BUT murder, but jesus, this is why you don’t leave diplomatic matters to actual children.

Speaking of why you don’t leave diplomatic matters to children, god that Gronder battle. I get that it’s supposed to be an epic showdown between the three houses that mirrored the mock battle pre time skip but... the Kingdom had literally NO reason to fight the Alliance!!! The reasons they provided to justify why the Kingdom and Alliance couldn’t team up at Gronder was so fucking dumb, especially when two chapters down the line, Claude is knocking at our door begging for help. I will say tho, I never knew how much I appreciated himbo in distress Claude until now lmao.

Rodrigue's death was also really poorly done imo. As much as I liked having Dimitri’s father figure be the one to snap him out of his insanity, (I love found father/son relationships...) how on earth are you guys so fucking incompetent that you let this tiny little girl kill Rodrigue??? It doesn’t help that the exact same thing happened with Jeralt and Monica. This... just ain’t it, chief.

I think the biggest bone I have to pick at AM specifically is... so what the fuck is the truth behind the Tragedy of Duscur LMAO??? They literally blue balled me by dropping the bomb of “Dimitri’s step mom may have conspired in it” ONLY TO NOT DO ANYTHING WITH IT. I assume that the full truth behind the Duscur tragedy will probably be revealed in VW (I hope) because it involves the slithers but it’s highkey ridiculous that the BL goons... never actually find out what really happened, and why. And I get that the story is about them moving on from their trauma and the past, but they should have at least figured out the actual truth behind it so they can get the closure they deserve???

Despite the gripes I have with some of the writing, unless VW or SS is mind blowingly amazing, this route will easily stand as the best route for me, because.... it is kind of is mind blowingly amazing. I wholeheartedly love character driven stories, and this route absolutely delivers in that respect-- the character writing is amazing and is essentially the heart of this story. To think Dimitri and the Blue Lions were the lord/house I was least interested in at first. Even after hearing people talk about what the BL goons and Dimitri’s character arc was roughly about, I was still blown away by just how damn fucking good it was, and this route exceeded my expectations in every way possible.

When playing CF, I struggled to connect with a lot of the beagles; I didn’t have that problem at all with the BL goons and the route does a phenomenal job at making me actually give a shit about these characters and their problems. Childhood friend squad (+Marianne and Ashe) are easily my favourite characters in this game by a landslide, and the dynamic between not only the childhood friend squad, but all the BL goons, was just so, so amazing. Watching these characters that are seemingly joined by a single tragedy, rise above all their suffering as they grow, heal, and overcome hardship together is just so... MY KIDS... MY HEART..... I really got the sense of not only their shared pain, but also shared intimacy, care, and friendship. Their support conversations with each other had everything; from goofy and fun, to soothing and nurturing, to painful and harrowing.

The connections that the BL goons have to the pre time skip missions gave part 1 story so much more meaning, and it only gets better after the time skip. I really appreciate that the BL bean boys actually feel relevant to the main story, and that their input and opinions actually mattered. The cast’s struggle to come to a consensus on the best course of action during the war phase made them feel like actual people with opinions, unlike in CF, where everyone was just a mindless passenger to Edie’s not so merry joyride. This also made Dimitri’s arc way more impactful because the narrative actually holds him accountable for the consequences that his behavior/poor decisions had on others. What I also really liked about the war phase is that you could just feel how war torn the kingdom was and how much everything went to shit after the time skip. I felt really strongly to the characters’ sense of hopelessness at fighting a losing battle as they struggled to keep their home land in tact while everything just kept spiraling out of control and deteriorating further.

So to see the BL goon beans slowly, one battle at a time, turn the tide of the war and push back against the corner they were backed in, was SO fulfilling and rewarding. The battle of Fhirdiad is probably my favourite battle in the entire game because it felt like all the suffering and toiling that the BL goons went through was finally worth it, and just watching the kingdom slowly heal after being liberated was just such a good feeling. This kind of payoff is something I think CF sorely lacked, since tbh, I struggled to celebrate Edie’s victories with her. Though I do appreciate how Edie’s a much more threatening antagonistic force than either Dimitri or Rhea were in CF too bad Edelgard’s boss battle was pathetically easy and Dimitri shredded through her armor like swiss cheese... at least Rhea put up a slightly challenging fight.

I could gush about the characters all day, but Dimitri? He makes this game, 100%. This truly felt like his story and he was the star of this route. On a superficial level, I’m a basic bitch as well as a slut for angsty boys who have trouble talking about their trauma because I want them to rail me. I fucking loved his feral personality it was just so fun to watch and interact with LMAO 10/10 would let him use me until the flesh falls from my bones. His dialogue in this state is just so demeaning, belittling and raw that it somehow comes a full circle and becomes charming I promise I’m not a sick masochist.

I’m also a degenerate and dimileth is my otp. The way the relationship between Dimitri and Byleth develops over the game truly felt like a bond forged over time. The way Dimitri admits that he couldn’t trust Byleth at first because he was put off by the way they could “kill without batting an eye”, to being so elated when he sees them smile for the first time that he’s completely mesmerized when they starts expressing emotion... oof, talk about otp material. I think what really sold me is the way he’s their anchor after Jeralt’s death; their emotional support both in a traditional sense, but also in a darker sense when he declares he will kill anyone so they desire it because their enemies are his enemies. Character A declaring they’d die for character B? Soft shit. Character A declaring they’d kill for character B? A+ romance right there, boys.

On a non superficial level, Dimitri’s character arc of his fall from grace and subsequent redemption was absolutely phenomenal. Just seeing how far he sinks, how far he goes, only to see how far he climbs his way back up after hitting rock bottom, was such a roller coaster and I loved every minute of it. I also probably like revenge stories more than I care to admit. Dimitri has everything; blood lust, cruelty, obsession, but also empathy and compassion so extreme that it’s his very own innate kindness that drives him into insanity, which is what makes him such a compelling character in my eyes. The extremity of his psychosis was absolutely heart breaking, but despite everything, him making the conscious decision to change for the better and rise up to fulfill his role as king was just astounding to watch.

I will say though... maybe I have a screwed up moral compass but tbh Dimitri brutally killing imperial soldires didn’t really upset me because... this is war??? That he didn’t even start?? Everyone is killing everyone??? Even if he never went feral, he’d still be killing because his bloody kingdom is being invaded?????? But I digress.

While I think just how damn avoidable everything was kind of detracts from the tragedy of his relationship with Edelgard, I still really loved how steadfast and unconditional his love for her was (after he stops going feral), and you can tell just how much she meant to him every time he spoke of her. I also love how the dagger kind of becomes a symbolic motif throughout the story, and Edie throwing the dagger at him in the final cutscene as a sign of her wholehearted rejection of him was just fucking depressing, but also very fitting of her character.

I adore the whole overarching narrative and themes surrounding grief and death, befitting of a war game. How, as tempting as it is to constantly keep the memory of the dead alive, there comes a point where you have to move on and not let your life be ruled by those no longer around. The way that the characters react to the death of loved ones and grieve so differently was a huge highlight of the BL squad’s characterizations, which just makes them feel more alive and human. Honestly, no words can really describe just how incredible of an experience Azure Moon was.

Anyway my order from favourite to least favourite BL goon bean boys are: Dimitri > Ashe >/= Sylvain >/= Felix > Ingrid > Mercedes > Annette > Dedue. (I love Ashe/Sylvain/Felix almost equally LOL)

tldr my experience with Azure Moon:

tfw my second best girl is childhood friends with all the best boys in the entIRE GAME and she settles for a guy with a dead wife, daughter, and most likely triple her age :|.

I’ll be finally playing Golden Deer next, which I’m gonna do on NG+ Maddening so.... hope that goes well!!

Intelligent child ;; Tomoko Fujimoto

We’re gonna kick this off by introducing today’s birthday girl, Tomoko!

That’s right, Tomoko is born on April Fool’s day! Why? Because her life is a JOKE! Haha! But in all seriousness, this is the first of the few OCs I’ll introduce to you guys, if you enjoy these kinds of posts! I’m a little nervous about sharing these characters with you all, but I love creating unique, interesting characters and I love seeing unique, interesting characters, so I thought I’d share mine! I’ll be sharing basic character information, but if you guys ever want to send in asks about these characters, I’d be very happy to answer any questions. As always, thank you for reading my work and supporting my blog! Now without further ado, Tomoko:

Personality

THIS BITCH IS ARIES AS SHIT!!! I’m only partially kidding. Tomoko is a self motivated, Type A personality to the nth degree. The type of ‘used to be in the gifted program and she hasn’t lost her edge but she has a sense of humor now’. She’s assertive, often taking the lead in group projects, and is observant and considerate of people’s strengths and weaknesses. She’s practical, sweet, and is typically willing to help out. Very girl scout, in energy. Like, Tomoko ain’t no pushover, but she’s not a bitch without a reason, and is in fact very warm, a little silly and affectionate with most friends or people she’s close to. Can she be a bitch though? You bet. And she loves it. Tomoko often talks people into a corner, and has a bad habit of assuming things, or assuming that people should be able to tell what bothers her.

She jumps to confrontation easily, and while she’s not one for physical fights, typically she internalizes a lot of her issues until she explodes or antagonizes the people she has a problem with. She’s also convinced she has to do everything herself, and has, generally, a very, very hard time truly trusting people. She can be a bit melancholy, and often overthinks problems to death. It makes her great for managerial positions, but life isn’t about managing people, lol. She feels a deep need to be perfect, and this fuels her already competitive nature. any game with any kind of point system? All’s fair in love and war.

History

o know the history of Tomoko Fujimoto is to step back one generation, in the Village Hidden in the Mist. Tomoko’s mother, Aoi Fujimoto, is the sole survivor of a brutal massacre that befell her clan during one of Kirigakure’s many internal skirmishes. Their name is scrubbed from all official records, and little is known about them other than they were in possession of a truly unique bloodline limit, and that they were a reclusive and unfriendly people. Aoi, for her part, spent much of her young life a trophy passed around from one clan to the next, valued for her blood but never respected, and never allowed much freedom. That is until she fell hard and fast for the son of a small time Yakuza leader, and together they ran off, never staying in one place for long, but always doing as they liked. Robbing, gambling, drinking, nothing was off limits for these two. That is, until Aoi became pregnant, and she and her lover-turned-shotgun husband settled down in a secluded area in Fire Country, buying a small onsen with what little money they could scrape together, and trying to achieve some sense of normalcy. Aoi gave birth to Tomoko, and while business was never exactly booming and Tomoko lived a life of isolation from other children, things were okay enough. Aoi’s husband, Tomoko’s father, could never quite adjust to onsen life and was a poor father, to put it lightly. Strict, demanding, and violent, Tomoko and her father had an incredibly turbulent relationship. Tomoko grew close with her maternal grandfather, who came to stay with the family under vague, foggy circumstances, and the old man taught her basic martial arts and taijutsu.

After his death - a possible suicide - at age twelve, Tomoko had to work hard to maintain the onsen and care for her mother, whose life of chaos and violence caught up to her after her husband’s death in the form of a year of not leaving her room, and often sleeping for hours at a time. While other children started trade careers or continued their schooling, Tomoko learned the ins and outs of the hospitality trade, and over the years learned how to manage, schedule, pay, and control the somewhat unruly staff of the onsen. Cut to Tomoko, seventeen, overworked, underpaid, feuding with a mother who suddenly wants to take back control of her business, and ultimately, very lonely.

Either she meets Sasuke Uchiha just before the Fourth Great Ninja War, and while the two pass each other like ships in the night, they do, vaguely remember each other when they meet again, Sasuke with only one arm and a world of sadness on his back. Tomoko travels the world with Sasuke, and while neither were looking for romance, they slowly but surely find in each other the understanding and companionship they mutually craved for so, so long. Tomoko eventually marries Sasuke, and they have several children. In this alternative, Tomoko is less prickly, generally happier, and she and Sasuke have a much easier time, ironically, navigating the pitfalls of marriage than their peers. They’re an intensely private couple with a very tight, united front. To an outsider, they probably seem cold - until Sasuke runs his fingers over his wife’s elbow, and she, almost unconsciously, leans against his side. There’s a certain understanding between the two that’s almost creepy, but they also talk often, or write to one another. Tomoko is the Uchiha matron, and is a thorn in the council’s side. Radically political PTA mom vibes.

Alternatively, she meets Gaara of the Desert, days after the Fourth Great Ninja War’s end, and they two become odd, fast friends. They both share a love of literature, and Tomoko’s airy nature and the ease in which she fills the silence for both of them warms Gaara to her. They write to one another often, and one often visited the other in the intermediate years that blended into ‘courting’ and ‘we’re just penpals’. One anguished confession after a failed arranged marriage on Gaara’s end of things, and Tomoko and Gaara married at age twenty-two, which for ninjas, as we all know, is absolutely old as balls. Tomoko doesn’t take well to her position as Lady Kazekage, despite her and Gaara’s generally happy marriage. The council disliked the idea of a foreigner marrying into the Kazekage clan, and made a bit of a game out of making their new Lady’s life as difficult as possible. Between this, Tomoko and Gaara’s personal struggles in having children, being unable to communicate or understand the other well, and the onset of until-then-simmering mental illness brought on by the prolonged stress of being a public figure, the couples marriage was .... rocky. Yes i love this ship. Yes they go to therapy. Yes she (eventually) loves Shinki more than she loves 99% of everything else in her life.

In both of these Alternative Futures, Tomoko becomes an author, writing prose horror novels and poetry compilations.

Stats/Fun Facts

- Tomoko has PTSD, and later in her life suffers from chronic pain due to several broken bones that never quite healed right in her youth.

- Tomoko is a civilian with some martial arts training, but she doesn’t know how to perform ninjutsu or genjutsu, and has largely been insulated from the ninja world growing up.

- Actually has huge difficulty in achieving chakra control, and later comes to find out that she has a rare genetic disorder that disrupts the flow of chakra in her body. This is why, in conjunction with her PTSD, Tomoko struggles with her lethargy later in life. It’s slightly corrected with acupuncture, and if it had been caught at an earlier age, Tomoko would’ve been much better off, if not completely healthy.

- This bitch TALL at 6′2 ft. Yes the pink hair is natural. The boobs are too.

- Likes going on random, meandering walks. Hiking is her favorite hobby after writing.

- Her mom gushes over and adores either of her husbands. Sasuke or Gaara gets a MILF in law who hugs and kisses them every time they visit and that’s facts.

- as Lady Kazekage, her fashion sense drifts from kimonos and casual dresses to ... sexier waters. A council member made a comment over her clothing choices one too many times and now Tomoko wears floor length dresses for hot bitches and hot bitches only.

Both of them are multilingual! They both speak French! Aurora speaks a few other languages too – she tries to teach Sebastian spanish but Sebastian cannot focus when she speaks another language lmao (it is a kink and Aurora will not hesitate to take advantage of it)

11. Baths or showers? Together or separate? Any bubbles or bubble fights?

They’re typically shower people but Sebastian takes ice baths for lacrosse and Aurora tries to have one nice bath a week just to relax (not when she’s at Dalton tho lmao cause they only have showers there). They generally shower separately (dorm showers and limited time) but when they’re older they definitely like to have baths together and Aurora starts bubble fights by giving Sebastian bubble beards lmao

13. Who stays up late? Who sleeps the most? Does the other have to force them to sleep/wake up?

They’re both night owls but Aurora just like, doesn’t sleep most of the time so Sebastian frequently has to drag her to bed! The struggle of getting Aurora to sleep is one that the Warblers are all too familiar with haha

15. Vacation ideas: who decides them? Where would they go, if anywhere?

okay so most of their vacations are done with the whole inner circle warbler group and they have a specific collection of vacation destinations that they rotate to (where their parents all have various vacation homes lmao). Every christmas is spent at the Anderson house in the cayman islands my godfamily lives there so i used to spend christmases there i miss it and then other vacations are rotated! When they’re older their schedules get a bit more flexible so if Aurora has time between broadway runs then Sebastian will take time off for non-warbler vacations, in which case they decide together!

1. How often do they have sex, if at all?

Okay so the first time they have sex is in their senior year and at first they don’t have sex often on account of sharing a wall with Nick and Jeff (and also Aurora still has some trauma and also they just have other things to do with their lives lmao) – after graduation it becomes a bit more frequent but given that they still live with Blaine, Sam, Nick, and Jeff, privacy is a rare thing haha

Hm, not off the top of my head! Both of them are pretty willing to try things, and tend to have the same hard nos!

Aurora will sometimes start saying “I love you” in different languages and sometimes they slip into soft french without realizing it bc they’re idiots and i love them. Aurora will also sometimes start talking about totally unrelated things and while most people might be offended that her attention isn’t fully on what’s going on, Sebastian loves it because she’s a lot less guarded than usual! Things that she would normally brush off as not being a big deal (good exciting things and also bad/sad/painful things) come up a lot, especially in the foreplay period, and it warms his heart to know that she feels safe and relaxed enough to open up

13. Who’s loud? Who’s quiet? Does one try to make the other louder/quieter? How?

Aurora is pretty quiet, aside from going on her random tangents and her little “I love yous” whereas Sebastian talks a lot. Sometimes it’s dirty talk and sometimes it’s just soft little things, but a lot of it is also just him telling her what he’s going to do so that she isn’t caught off guard and has the chance to stop him if she doesn’t like/want something. He does try to encourage her to be louder, because he wants to know how she feels about things, and usually he’ll just start asking “do you like that?” or “how does it feel?” or that sort of thing! When she’s prompted, she does talk, she just never starts it

15. Open or closed relationship? Do they sometimes share?

Closed, no sharing! They do technically have a list of free passes but that’s really only because early on in their relationship the NDs kept telling her that Sebastian would cheat on her with Blaine if he had the chance so this happened:

A: “hey if you want to sleep with Blaine you can, just don’t dump me and don’t like”

S: “wait what? where did that come from?”

A: “spite, mostly”

S: “fair enough, but then you need a pass too – how about Sam?”

A: “he’s pretty, sounds good to me”

and then fast forward to the next day and kurt once again is going on about how sebastian is a slut who wants to sleep with blaine and aurora is just like “lmao yeah that’s his free pass dude get with the program”

but if given the opportunity neither of them would want to sleep with someone else

So, I haven’t really said it much here but I have been healing from something terrible and this was my way of healing. I love astrology and this is something that I may start permanently in addition to the fan fiction I write here. I hope you enjoy it~Kae

ARIES

❌My middle school boyfriend. Ha, you still hit me up and tell me i look cute and how we’re gonna have kids from time to time, maybe even flirt with me here and there. can’t say i don’t like it the attention but that ship sailed long ago. Funny, a definite goofball, popular after his insecurity phase was over.

❌one of the first guys i fucked in college. lol you were fun, fun as hell. you were always easy going, funny and matched my energy relatively well but you were most definitely a fuckboy (sorry) you just liked pussy and women too much for us to ever work, assuming you even wanted us to work. ❌ahh my first love. so caring, tender, sweet but had too many scars and wounds for us to heal together. we made so many mistakes with one another but you were always trying to be my own personal naruto and, for a while, you were. and for those few months you were my everything. kept me going when i wanted to die. kissed my scars all the time. always bought me food. loved to spoil me. had a temper and hid his emotions. put everyone before himself too much. things ended bad and our egos clashed. i hurt you. i’m sorry. the last words we said to each other were good bye and i love you.

Okay. I’ve allowed a night to let everything sink in. I’m ready to talk about Endgame now.

*cinemasins voice* spoilers!! (duh..)

so the wounds are still fresh. v v v v v v v v v fresh. but my thoughts during the entire movie were just OMG IM TRYING TO REMEMBER EVERY SINGLE THING THAT IS HAPPENING SO I CAN REMEMBER IT AS LONG AS POSSIBLE BEFORE i inevitably go see this movie again

This is what the movie reduce me to like 99% of the time btw

now, I’m gonna try and break this up to be as organized as possible into 4 main sections which will be general thoughts, the highs, the lows, and closing thoughts. that may sound organized but I promise it won’t be and as always I’ll have to use bullet holes to even stay relatively "organized"

I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out that I either loved or would wanna discuss but tbh the ENTIRE FILM i was just like GOD I WANNA REMEMBER THIS FOREVER!! Every scene that happened i was like god there's still 3 hours of stuff that's going to happen but I want to remember it all!!!

Overall

this movie was good. and i’m mad it was so good and i found it so enjoyable for how dirty they did me. The pacing was pretty well done for a first viewing, but I'm sure after a couple rewatches I'll get caught up on the occasional misstep in the pacing and general direction the story took, but I really liked it!!

I thought the Thor stuff was kinda distasteful and honestly a joke that ran too long. Like ha ha okay we get it but also? He went through so much fucking trauma can we just lay off him? Damn? I don't wanna linger too much on it bc honestly the more I think about it the more I get upset the russos did him dirty

all the callbacks??? made me so emotional????? eleven years and almost two dozen films guys holy fucking shit it felt like such a good homage to bring stuff back

Yo literally when they went up to busted ass thanos i leaned over to my bf and whispered "are they just gonna kill thanos in the first ten minutes is that allowed" and uh YEP! WOW

Also the opening scene being Clint's family getting dusted... gasps in my theater y'all they went in hard on us

TIME HEIST!!!!!! FUCK marvel knows how to take you on a fun journey!! The concept was so fun!!

I also appreciate them mixing up the plot a bunch to keep us guessing!! Like fuck, when Thanos was finding out through Nebula... future nebula talking to past gamora i was SO SOFT... sisters...

Hulk was... weird. It felt a weird kind of fanservicey for a little bit, and honestly a little out of place? But. Eh. Wasn't the worst part. Certain parts of it were fun! I think I got used to it haha

Everyone looked. So good. After the time jump. Damn. Thank you make up department for everyone's new looks. I live for silver fox tony always.

I loved seeing Loki again i know it was so little content BUT I DONT CARE I'LL ALWAYS LOVE MY FUCKING PRINCE

We didn't get as much Nebula and Tony content as I was hoping but god it was so cute and tender in the beginning. Imagine all that bonding. Nebula finding tony on the floor, knowing he's on the brink of death, and propping him up in the seat :'(((( tony helping fix nebula :(((( the father daughter relationship we deserved and didn't get to see come to fruition.

All the New York flash back was so fucking fun. The elevator scene. Brilliant. I really thought they were gonna recreate but it was such a fun tease. Also cap making fun of his past self for saying "i could do this all day" I SCREAM why do the Russo's get steve so well

Carol taking a direct punch in the face from Thanos without even flinching? We stan a goddess

ALSO SHORT HAIRED CAROL YESSSS I LIVED!!!!! YES!!!! (But also that movie could've used like way more Carol thats just mY OPINION)

Also AGAIN, I DON'T CARE THAT IT WAS FAN SERVICE, STEVE WEILDING MJOLNIR WAS E V E R Y T H I N G. They have TEASED US since that one middle avengers movie we don't talk about that he was worthy and!!! Our!! Son!! Is!! Fucking!!! Worthy. And the scene of thor making him swap w/ him "you get the little one" i screamed bitch

also I was living for how much Steve swore in this film lol literally fuck joss Whedon's characterization we don't know her!

That entire final action scene..... holy fucking shit y'all. It was just crazy enough without being too crazy. I loved the callback to the original long continuous shot

THE HEAVENS OPENED UP AND SANG WITH THAT A-FORCE SCENE. YES. ALL THE MARVEL LADIES LINING UP. THEY ARE HERE AND THEY ARE THE STRONGEST OF US ALL. A-FORCE. FUCKING A-FORCE. Thank you Russo's for my LIFE

Carol's little "hi peter parker :)" god i love them. I love peter. My fucking spider son. I missed him so much. I missed Tom Holland's sweet peach little face AH I CRIED WHEN HE SHOWED BACK UP

Also last kind of ~general~ thought i know i don't get time travel at all and it is an instant way to confuse me in any franchise but wouldn't steve doing what he did fuck literally everything up idk we'll get to steve in a bit

FUCKS. im getting off topic anyway i was just happy they brought him back because I am an iron man 3 enthusiast and his relationship with tony was SO important and this confirms that at the very least tony kept in contact with him over all these years!!! and he wasn’t just some insignificant blip

I appreciated the closure with Howard like?? A lot?? I'm the last person to be a Howard stark apologist, but I think his character and his relationship w/ Tony and how Tony viewed him as a father and as a man was so well crafted throughout the series??? Idk I liked that scene it was good to my baby.

And now a pOSSIBLY CONTROVERSIAL~~ opinion but..... I loved Steve's ending. I really did. I thought he got a beautiful and fitting ending and I was so happy. It meant so much especially to hear his reasonging being that in a way, he did it for Tony. He was inspired by what Tony told him. He saw Tony get his happy ending and for so many films now Steve has been searching for that and he missed an entire life. Tony helped him realize that. It just made me!! So emo!! Like Bucky's face when he knew Steve wasn't gonna be coming back. Steve's last convo w/ Sam. It was just amazing. I can't believe I'm seeing hot takes from people calling Steve selfish or blaming the fact that the Russos have a boner for Steggy or whatever. Who cares!!! Steve got his happy ending and it was well deserved and a wonderful arc!! Lay off him bc you ship him w/ Bucky or tony more damn!!!! (Idk about the timeline y'all dont come for me i really have no idea i think the Russos just said fuck it for that one even when talking about not fucking up the timeline)

Lows

Natasha deserved better. She did. I understand why they took her character arc the way that they did, and honestly, this is the first time I've felt we've seen Natasha have even a modicum of actual character traits since like, Iron man 2 and Avengers 1. She found purpose in keeping the family together and trying to help the people left living, while never stopping or losing contact with anyone else in their endeavors to fix what Thanos broke. As tired as I am of seeing a female character die for ~man pain~ this felt like so much more than that. In the end Nat wanted to sacrifice herself for the greater good, and that's what she did. I'm still fucking upset though, even though they've butchered her character across almost all the films she's been in

Thor being turned into an entire fucking joke. That's it. I got nothin left for the writers at this point.

So..... let's talk about Tony's death, shall we

"You can rest now" broke me. It truly did. I've never loved any fictional character across any medium as much as I have loved Tony Stark. But Pepper's line at the beginning "you'll sleep, but will you rest?" Is so fucking telling. I think I immediately knew for sure in that moment. Because she's right. And that's the worst part.

Peter :)))) finally :)))) calling :))))) tony :)))) by :)) his :)))) first :)) name :))) as he was dying :)))) asking him not to go the same way he told tony he didn't want to go when he was getting dusted GOD. AND WE THOUGHT THAT SCENE IN INFINITY WAR WAS ROUGH. HAD N O T H I N G ON THIS.

No offense but where was Rhodey when Tony was dying lmao ok

That funeral scene.... seeing everyone there drawn together..... god. It was beautiful. It really was.

Of course I'm not happy. I'm extremely fucking upset. I knew tony wielding the gauntlet would be coming, but I thought they would find a way for him to make it out alive. As soon as they were showing that even the hulk couldn't handle it with the gamma radiation, I knew the nail was going to be in the coffin.

All that aside... what I can say, is that if they HAD to kill him off, I think it was a proper send off. We saw so many arcs of Tony's come to a close, and I knew it was just a matter of time. Also that being said, I really don't believe in death being necessary to end a character's arc. Yeah yeah blah blah we get the sad and tragic but TRUE message that at the end of the day death is inevitable and that tony had to sacrifice himself for the greater good. He and Strange both knew it, and as soon as Strange held up that finger I knew that was it for him.

It wouldn't be so hard if they hadn't given us everything they did with tony after the 5 year jump. He healed. He was HAPPY. But pepper was right, and as long as Tony was alive... he would never truly /rest/. And that's the only way I'm able to make peace with this death. Tony has always been a character who was just going going going, never going to stop even if it killed him, all to protect the ones he loved, and protect the whole world and make it a better place. He had a beautiful story that was told so well over these past eleven years, with admitted shortcomings here and there. He had the most cohesive trilogy films, the best character development and arcs, and an incredible portrayal. I'm grateful for it, but that doesn't make it any easier that they decided to go and show us that Tony was able to FINALLY settle down with Pepper and see him find the best version of himself as a husband to her and a father to his little baby girl. A baby girl that now has to grow up without her dad, and pepper has to go on without her husband, the love of her life. It's fucking tragic and honestly, we didn't need that imho lmao

The hardest parts is that like.... idk. I feel like the only reason they killed him is for shock factor, but somehow without the shock? A lot of us felt or were worried that this was coming. I think the russos and co. We're just totally set on the idea that like... tony HAD to die and that was the only way for this arc to come to a close not just WITHIN the universe, but meta, outside of the MCU as well. They did the same thing with Hugh jackman as Logan and that shit HURTED me y'all. Eleven years we had RDJ give us this amazing character and he is the SOLE reason the MCU is where it is today. So you know what, the Russo's and everyone can circle jerk about how much ~poetic justice~ there is in this ending for Tony, but at the end of the day... it just ain't it fam.

Realistically I know after wielding the infinity stones there is no way Tony, a human, could've survived, even with his armor on. I knew that. And as biased as I am towards seeing Tony living, if he had wielded the stones and NOT died? It would've felt cheap. So again, if they had to end his life, I appreciate the way they did it and thought it was the best send off they could've given him. I also would've appreciated some kind of alternate option where oh i dont know carol or someone strong enough could've handled the snap and tony could live the rest of his days with his wife and daughter and found family but..... ig that's just me huh.

:(((( Happy asking Morgan what she wanted and her saying "cheeseburgers" SHE'S JUST LIKE HER DADDY I AM SO!!! UPSET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And last thought is that I fucking cried AGAIN because the biggest applause moment was during the credits when RDJ's name appeared. My theater gave a standing damn ovation. Also the very last sound after it faded to black... Tony hammering away, building the very first Iron Man suit.... that shit hurted.
