The 5 Elements
Tumblr media
Known as the five classical elements, they represent different aspects of nature and the universe. Each element has its own unique energy and symbolism, and understanding these can help you harness their power in your own spiritual practice. The Five Elements are Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. Each of these elements is associated with a specific direction, season, and energy. The elements are also connected to the four cardinal points of the compass. You may find that certain elements resonate with you more than others.
Earth:
The Earth element is associated with stability, grounding, and abundance. In spell work, you can use the Earth element to manifest material wealth, stability, physical body, and the natural world. The Earth element is often represented by rocks, crystals, and gemstones, as well as plants and animals. It is said to be the element that helps us connect with the physical world and our primal instincts. To work with the Earth element, you might choose to spend time in nature, meditate with crystals, or create an altar with natural materials. Some correspondences for the Earth element in spell work include:
Crystals: Green adventurine, moss agate, and jade.
Herbs: Dandelion, patchouli, and rosemary.
Colours: Brown and green
Astrology: Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn
Tarot: Pentacles
Air:
The Air element is associated with communication, transformation, intellectualism and creativity. It is associated with the mind, thought processes, and the realm of ideas.  The Air element is often represented by birds, feathers, and incense smoke. It is said to be the element that helps us connect with our higher selves and the spiritual realm. To work with the Air element, you might practice visualization, journaling, or perform a ritual with incense or feathers. Some correspondences for the Air element in spell work include:
Crystals: Clear quartz, blue lace agate, and Citrine
Herbs: Lavender, peppermint, and sage
Colours: Yellow and white
Astrology:  Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius

Fire:
The Fire element is associated with passion, action, and transformation. It is associated with energy, vitality, and courage. In spell work, you can use the Fire element to manifest passion, creativity, and transformation. The Fire element is often represented by candles, bonfires, and lightning. It is said to be the element that helps us connect with our inner power and the power of the universe. The Spirit element is associated with transcendence, the unknown, connection, and the divine. In spell work, you can use the Spirit element to promote spiritual connection, meditation, and transcendence. The Spirit element is often represented by prayer, meditation, and the void. It is said to be the element that helps us connect with the divine source of all creation. I feel like you saying this is like you're setting up a trap for me like:
🪤
Tumblr media
Well it worked, didn’t it?? /t
and AWJDHAKDHDFF THANK YOU!!! ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE
Tumblr media
FIRST OFF... my beloved piece of petrified wood. oouughfff oh man I love it so much, probably my favorite out of everything
Tumblr media
previously-mentioned-in-another-post mystery rock!! still torn between it being either Amazonite or Adventurine
Tumblr media
ROCK WITH HOLES!!!! found it at the beach, have since never parted with it
Tumblr media
^^^ Aforementioned-in-another-post raw apatite :DD
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rocks I found by the lake and thought were nifty
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SO MUCH RIVER ROCK!!! A bit of cool gravel in there as well, not to mention a few minerals (including feldspar and a small bit of fluorite that I did not in fact get from the river)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
in order - Dalmatian Jasper, Amethyst (which is actually a type of purple mineral quartz!!), and Sodalite, my first bunch of collected crystals :DD
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
in order again, Tiger's Eye, Rose Quartz, and the infamous Adventurine!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
just cos' they're related in name terms, Bloodstone and Dragon's Blood Stone!! Dragon's Blood Stone is SO cool, the picture doesn't do it justice at all, but Bloodstone is still probably my favorite
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SOME OF MY MOST FAVORITE OUT OF EVERYTHING (I know I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, but I really do love all of these rocks n crystals n minerals very much) Kambaba Jasper [WHICH IS ACTUALLY SEDIMENTARY-FOSSILIZED ALGAE. LOSES MIND] Malachite [LOVE THAT SHIT] and Unakite [which is just so pleasant. looks like a grass n flower field someone could run through I ADORE IT]
Tumblr media
Obsidian!! cool stuff, real shiny even without it being polished due to its microcystaline structure - if I recall correctly, its formed when volcanic magma cools so darn fast due to either water or air that the crystals it's composed of barely have any time to grow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Strawberry Quartz and Agate!! Agate is really just quartz in structure, but it looks cooler so it has a separate name (don't quote me on that, I'm not a geologist), really pretty stuff - I don't quite recall where either of these came from actually, might've been a gift from a friend
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here we have Cream Yellow Onyx, which generally forms alongside Limestone (I think) and Howlite (which looks an awful lot like marble but its NOT, its actually a calcium borosilicate hydroxide mineral generally found in deposits of Something or Another <<< forgot)
Tumblr media
lastly, MORE MYSTERY ROCK!! I thought this was Gneiss for a while, given it looks vaguely like a metamorphic rock and the color scheme isn't all that off, but it could also just be plain ol' granite (which Gneiss metamorphisizes from given enough heat and pressure)
(the orange veins here and there may or may not be iron/rusting - not entirely sure)
I think thats all of 'em! Thank you for humoring me friend lmao, I always forget how much fun I have rambling about geology :DD

Hey @totallynotbat, happy gift exchange day, I know we haven't talked much, but thanks for letting me write for you, I don't know this is exactly what you had in mind, but I hope you like it! And thank you @technoblade-gift-exchange for putting this together, also haven't talked a whole lot, but I appreciate you, I had fun! I hope you all enjoy!
Emerald

It's kinda sad, but it's also kinda sweet, no major warnings otherwise
A thin quilt covered the earth. Sections of saffron like the edges around a bruise, and burgundy trying to compete with a glass of wine, and sepia as the chlorophyll bled out with the final remnants of summer. A patchwork blanket of color like a kaleidoscope around and beneath me.
The occasional sector of basil melting into olive grass playing a game of peek-a-boo in the areas of earth where the blanket felt shy. Stray sticks of paper that lollipops once clung to and wrappers that once surrounded a piece of chocolate taking turns with the leaves in leading a waltz as the breeze lead its orchestra.
Dia de los Muertos.
Flyers with information on the day of celebration or stories made in spirit of the holiday were taped by the corners onto the sides of buildings or tacked onto signs made of oak or cork still hung from yesterday.
Posters with each island residents' face made with white paint to look like skeletons rested on pastel backgrounds, and were hung by two pieces of wood held together by a spring on rows of thick spiderweb and string, both of their ideal intended use was for holding clothes to keep dry, connected between two trees.
I let my feet guide me through the nearly ankle deep river of color, a series of rather satisfying crunches emitting from my path, which gradually changed to slabs of pastel blocks, which lead me to an archway that looked to be made of quartz.
Lanterns with flames dyed scarlet and lemon and cerulean hung on silver chains and rested overhead.
More banners made of spiderweb, with sections of cloth or perhaps tissue paper hung in the colors of the rainbow and then some, and supported by two thin stalks of wood which were placed on either side of the archway.
I walked through. There was a decoration every time I shifted my eyes or turned my head.
Lanterns, pots with flowers planted in them, flyers with short stories, a giant rainbow papier mâché amalgamation of animals.
I heard footsteps fade from crunching leaves beneath them to tapping as they reached the smooth surface of the pastel path. The person they belonged to coming up behind me and then standing at my side.
"Oy."
"How's it going, Fit?"
"Not bad, not bad."
"Heard I missed out yesterday, sorry about that."
"No worries, but yeah, hell of a day. Come on, I'll show you around."
Bits of tissue paper streamers were strewn about on the ground, some still dancing as they fell from the trees around us, occasionally getting caught in the branches on their journey.
A stray candy wrapper sometimes blew by like a tumbleweed, a few getting stuck in a group of leaves that had gathered in places around where the event was held.
"So I'm sure you heard about the eggs that stopped by."
"I did. Real shame I missed them."
"It is, and I know it's not the same, but you can visit their offrenda's over here, say hello, tell them you miss them, whatever."
"Lead the way, mate."
First we visited Juanaflippa.
Her alter had rows of potted lilacs and pink alliums lined up at the sides, and a few more pots scattered around the center.
A dozen or so pink candles were settled on the steps, some inside of skulls as a holder, most by themselves.
There was a shield, a few different swords, a couple of green apples, and some empty pink signs.
In the center of the alter was a painting of her wearing her glasses sitting in a gold frame.
I took a piece of flint and steel and relit the candles that had become flickering sparks of orange and thin plumes of smoke.
"Hey Juanaflippa.
Hope you're doing well. I don't know if that was really you that came back to visit us, I think maybe this means probably not, but I don't know.
Your dad really misses you, we all do, but your dad's a bit of a mess right now, more so than usual. Things are a bit off for him, physically and emotionally, not gonna lie.
We all miss you so much. We miss your little glasses and your backflips.
I hope you're doing alright, wherever you are."
Next was Bobby.
His alter had rows of potted turquoise flowers along the sides, along with a few violet and red ones, and a handful of the aquamarine ones in pots scattered around the center.
A dozen or so royal blue candles sat on the steps, some in skulls as a holder, most by themselves.
There were a couple of tridents, a gun, and some empty blue signs.
In the center of the alter was a painting of him wearing his denim overalls sitting in a gold frame.
I took a piece of flint and steel and relit the candles that had become flickering sparks of orange and thin plumes of smoke.
"Hey there Bobby.
Sorry I missed you yesterday. I hope you're doing alright.
Your parents miss you so much. I can tell your apa is sad sometimes, but he doesn't really show it, he doesn't show that side of him with anyone though, you're probably not all that surprised. He seems happy when he's with Cellbit though, you're probably not super surprised about that either. Your mom also gets kinda sad, but she's doing okay otherwise I think. Did you know she had wings? You'd like them.
We miss you, buddy. Your little dungarees and you giving us those blue flowers.
I hope you're doing good out there."
Then Tilín.
Her alter had rows of potted lilacs and some other red flowers along the sides, and some of the red ones in pots around the center.
A dozen or so crimson candles were settled on the steps, some in skulls as a holder, most by themselves.
There were some feathers, a piece of cake, a block of dynamite, and some empty red signs.
In the center of the alter was a painting of them with that little red bow on top of her head sitting in a gold frame.
I took a piece of flint and steel and relit the candles that had become flickering sparks of orange and thin plumes of smoke.
"Hi Tilín.
Hope you're alright.
Your dad doesn't talk about you a lot, I'll be honest, but it's not because he doesn't care about or miss you, he just doesn't know how to show or talk about things sometimes.
But he misses you so much, we all do. Your little ribbon and giving us red flowers.
I hope you're okay out there."
And finally Trumpet.
His alter had rows of potted daffodils and some other red and yellow flowers, some of both kinds were also scattered in the center.
A dozen or so yellow candles were settled on the steps, some in skulls as a holder, most by themselves.
There were some books, a few spiderwebs, and some empty yellow signs.
In the center of the alters was a painting of him with his propeller hat sitting in a gold frame.
I took a piece of flint and steel and relit the candles that had become flickering sparks of orange and thin plumes of smoke.
"Hey Trump.
I'm really sorry I missed you yesterday. But you weren't alone. There were so many people here for you.
I heard that even your dad was here. I'm sorry not everyone was there for you before and if you felt alone, no one deserves that, no matter their age. You didn't deserve what happened to you.
We all miss you and your little rainbow propeller hat so much.
I hope you're alright wherever you are. I hope you're happy. I hope you never feel alone again."
"Oh, sorry Fit, to be honest, kinda forgot you were here for a minute there."
I said as I heard a throat clear behind me.
"No worries, no worries, didn't wanna interrupt anything, thank you for saying those things though, I think they needed it, I think you kinda needed it too."
"Yeah, that felt kinda nice, thanks for bringing me by."
"I uh, I actually have one more thing to show you, if you'll follow me."
"Yeah, I'm really glad I uh, oh---"
We walked up to a set of red wooden stairs. An alter. An offrenda.
And in the center was a painting in a gold frame of a person wearing a skull with tusks, had long pink hair, a fuzzy red cape with white at the neck, and a crown.
Technoblade.
"Oh my God, dude, really?"
Fit just slowly nodded.
We stood and stared for a minute.
"Hey Fit, could you do me a favor?"
I reached for the camera in its bag around my neck.
"Yeah I gotcha."
There were rows of different leaves and potted flowers in blue and red along the side, and a few red and pink flowers in the center.
There were about a dozen white candles, all of them were lit.
There was a diamond sword, an emerald, a totem, a skull, an ender pearl, a crown, and a potato around the painting.
"I gotta leave something, hold on, do you have an anvil by chance?"
"I gotcha covered."
Both of our voices shook slightly.
Fit put down the anvil and I made a name tag, Toothpick, which I put on a diamond pickaxe, and placed that on the step between the totem and sword.
"This was really nice."
"It was really thoughtful."
"They really didn't have to do this."
"Yeah."
"Can I ask you for one more thing?"
"Of course."
"Can I have a second alone with him?"
"Take all the time you want, buddy."
I heard the leaves crunch as Fit's footsteps retreated and sat down on the ground in front of the alter. I brushed my fingers along blades of grass and the petals of one of the pink flowers in a pot beside me. I finally let the tears stuck to my waterline fall.
"Hey mate.
Has it really been almost a year and a half? That feels impossible.
There isn't a moment where you aren't on my mind. You're on a lot of people's minds. You'd probably be flattered though, make some kind of probably sarcastic comment, prick.
Wish you came by yesterday, maybe you did, who knows. Wish I was there to see if you did or not. Wish you could hear me telling you this right now, maybe you can, it's probably not impossible.
Chayanne, that egg kid of mine you maybe have heard me talk about, your nephew. You're his hero. And he's so much like you. I wish you could meet him.
I honestly don't know which of you is better at pvp, you both can put up a fight until the last second, you're both stubborn as all get out, and you both could win.
And Tallulah, Wilbur's egg, she's been staying with me since he had to go do his music and things, she knows about and admires you too.
You'd go kinda soft on her, guaranteed, she'd win you over. She'd give you poppies and play you music and make you laugh.
We all miss you, so goddamn much, take care wherever you are, okay Tech?"
After the tears on my face had dried and it felt like it had been quiet for long enough, I put my hand on the bottom step next to the pick one last time as a send off, then went through the archway to find Fit.

Sparky adopts Tibbles
I trotted forward to the meeting ground, snow crunching beneath my paws. I do this everyday, yet I can never stop myself from shivering. Not from the cold, no, but the feeling of just… going. Whether it was excitement or nervousness, I’m not sure. Maybe it’s both.
Staring up with wide eyes, I stand before the huge being that is Nestor. His many blinding white eyes pierce my soul, and I bow my head before him. This was an everyday activity for a leader–meeting with Nestor, the large black moose that guards all of us not-cats. I go on behalf of the Starlit Hollow, to give him my greeting and prayer of thanks for the creation of this world.
In return, he always gifts an item for me to bring home and use for the village's benefit. I’ve come to learn that it would usually be something common, like scales from the river or rosemary from the gardens. It’s easy to get these on our own, but any gift from the Guardian of Not-Earth is always welcome. Sometimes, he would even give me something rare, like rose quartz or catmint; both of which are usually in short supply yet very sought after.
So as I gave Nestor my thanks, my tail twitches with excitement, wondering what we’d be given today.
“Mrrp?”
At the sound, I open my eyes. I found myself staring at a ball of fluff, who stares right back with its large amber eyes. Taken aback, I tilt my head up to let Nestor know my confusion, but he had already gone. Off to another village I assume.
I look back down at the kitten, who’s attention shifted to a silver firefly. This… is a situation. Scanning the area, I can’t find anything that would be a gift. No wintermint, no paper bark, not even seeds. It seems that this little not-cat is Nestor’s gift to my village.
Sitting down to regain my composure, I ponder what to do. All of my cats, including me, have no experience raising beans. More than half of us migrated from Earth, and the rest just never had a partner before. Besides, raising a single kitten would likely stunt its growth. We’re a social species, and beans need littermates or friends their age. But above all, I can’t just leave a kitten alone, especially when it’s so little. It’s probably not a little more than just a bean.
The little not-cat trots through the snow, and then rolls over to bat playfully at a flower. It grabs my attention. I walk over and sniff at the orange petals that are speckled with black. This is rare. Exceptionally rare. A tiger lily is the last flower I ever expected to see in Winter. I switch my gaze back to the kitten, who’s back to tumbling around in the snow.
I’ve made up my mind. I grab the kitten by the scruff, causing it to squeak while I haul it onto my back. I smile when it starts purring and nuzzling into my fur. I think I’m already getting attached. Walking a bit slower so the kitten doesn’t fall, I carry it back down the trail and to the Starlit Hollow.
We didn’t have to walk far before we were walking into the plaza, and my not-cats welcomed me back. They were just as surprised seeing the kitten on my back, and I laughed at the shared reaction. I crouched down, and let the kitten hop off. It tumbled forward once it landed on the snowy tiles and sneezed the snow out of its whiskers.
To my delight, everyone welcomed the kitten warmly, even offering some of their toys. It’s a better reaction than what I was anxious about. Wren even asked me where it came from, so I explained how Nestor gave it to me which everyone responded with shock, just as I had. But most importantly, I believe we all silently agreed that this kitten was a symbol. A sign that our village would grow, and Nestor believes in me to lead it.
Now, I can watch from afar as that same little kitten grows. I can watch as xey build their own family and friendships. Snowmelt is here, and my little kitten is all grown up and ready to race through the same fields that I do. Looking down to the tiger lily tied around my neck, smiling as I remember that day. And how ever since then, I would and will continue to adopt any kittens I am given.

Some notes on keeping a witch friendly house.
A red candle on your stove stands in for the hearth.
A lime cut and put in a bowl of salt water for a few hours will absorb negative energies.
Sweep 2 inches off the ground, from the furthest point from your door, to the door and out.
Blow cinnamon through your front door the first of every month.
Witch's bells on your exterior doors, witch's balls over your windows. They can be used not just to keep out the bad but invite in the good. Add some rose petals and orange rind there, some mint and basil. Bring in what you want to live in your home.
Macrame is excellent for complex knot spells and you can hang it as decoration. Add crystal beads aligned with the intent of the spell for extra juice.
Get river rocks (the flat ones.) Draw sigils or runes on them for protection or to invite blessing. (I use baneful runes on the back of them in case anything disregards it.) If you have kids it can be camouflaged by painting on the rock anywhere the rune is not visible.
Ward your windows. Protective oils, draw on a sigil or rune just like the stones.
Line your window sill (between the glass and screen) with a mix of black salt, red brick dust, and ground black tourmaline.
Place that same mix under a mat at your doors -- do NOT us a "Welcome" mat, you never know what will take that as an invitation.
In your entryway, have a pretty bowl with onyx, obsidian, black tourmaline, red jasper, and smoky quartz. Also a plant -- jade plants are very nice for that -- and a white candle. Light the candle before you open the door. It'll keep people from tracking their negative energies in.
Bedroom, similar bowl with a favorite of love stone, passion stones, and heart chakra stones. There are so many that you can take your pick. Make sure there's at least a bit of green, a bit of pink, a bit of red, and a bit of white in your room, even if it's just a painting. I also go with some blue for calming sleep. You can use a bit of purple if you're looking for prophetic dreams as well.
I know everyone recommends a sea theme for your bathroom because there's water, but honestly, the element is already there so only use it if you like it. Do however have water safe crystals and a good eucalyptus arrangement on your shower head, and sigil your hair and body products for the effect you want.
If, like me, you live where nature is trying to kill you 350 days a year, bring nature indoors. Yes it does lack the chaos and wild energy of the outdoors, but plants all over, desktop fountains, crystals or rocks, celining fans, candles galore.... those elements will help you find balance and keep you connected.

Part 1 of ????, this is a plot bunny that won’t leave me alone. Relevant content warnings to be added as parts progress. (Expected to be jossed by future canon events, but I wanna write it anyway.) AU for some thoughts on Forever, his mission, and just what sort of things might have been left behind by the Federation in the past.
QSMP Fic: Breath of Fire, 1/??
by Farli
Summary: Forever. The Nether. And unexpected discoveries.
——————
He really hated the Nether.
And the Nether had wasted little effort letting him know the feeling was entirely mutual.
Somewhere in the midst of a maze’s worth of thick netherbrick walls, Forever let himself slide until he was seated on a broken step. He could hear the nervous pad of Walter Bob’s paws as the former(?) Employee kept track of the monsters below them. They had, somehow, given the horde the slip between collapsing forest and abandoned fortress, and he meant to make good use of the brief time afforded them. Silently, if at all possible.
Even so, the blond was struggling to catch his breath in the frigid cold. Ashes and frost coated his hair and face, latched into his lashes, but he didn’t dare waste what reserves he had to wipe them away.
It should have been hot here. The expected rivers of lava still flowed, lighting purgatory’s depths in oranges that didn’t match the dull surroundings. Burning fires dotted the landscape — and some hadn’t even been started by him with his mines! Yet the territory they’d fled through was chilling, right down to the bone, and there wasn’t a lick of soulsand in sight. As though heat had forgotten how it was supposed to burn.
Something flickered in the corner of one eye, and Forever’s grip on his scythe tightened reflexively - until he saw the stained pages held out shakily by his companion.
[ We should go now, Mr. President. If we are quiet, the Bugs won’t notice our passage. ]
His body screamed in protest as he heaved his way back to his feet, flag adjusted where it had remained slung about one shoulder. The Brazilian would have liked nothing more than to rest a while longer, but the true rest his body craved wasn’t possible here. And he had to mind his supplies - he’d been unsparing with his mines out of the gate, but Forever had learned at a cost that he couldn’t afford to maintain that pace. Not when he was still without less for either of his objectives.
And Richas and the other egg children were far more important than the mysteries of ‘dark matter’.
YOU SHOULD NOT BE HERE, MR. PRESIDENT.
Forever could feel an icy cold finger trail down his spine as he recalled the memory of the strange text…warning? threat? Whatever it was, the red text had preceded full disconnection from the Federation’s network.
And now Forever was alone.
Well, alone, save for the presence of Walter Bob, who now stared expectantly at him from beneath the shaggy remnants of the hairstyle Mike had cut for him so many months ago. Forever nodded, then gestured; let’s go, lead the way. Speech would only bring back unwanted attention from their stalkers.
They crept through the abandoned halls with care, pausing every time the hallways opened out into branching paths.
Up and out was a trap, the ghastly hum of Blazes offset by the buzz of Mosqo wings audible beyond the dark brick ceiling. So down they went instead, the worker’s jacket somehow still bright in the shadows. Forever followed close behind, pausing now and again to glance back the way they came — and walked straight into Walter Bob’s back.
Curses tripped off his tongue on instinct before Forever’s mouth snapped shut (he could have sworn he heard a distant ‘language!’ audibly object from somewhere in the back of his mind). Ingrained habit had him slipping a fresh totem from a side pouch into his offhand, before he peered past his companion.
And inhaled, as he recognised the familiar smooth pallor of white quartz that the Federation favoured so.
Ahead of them the netherbrick had slowly given way to blackstone and chiselled white, with parts of the former roofing structure collapsed or missing entirely. Warped netherwood fungus crawled across the invading nylium, the turquoise wood sprouting in places, while thick vines crept across the walls. Taking in the rest of their surroundings, the pair stepped cautiously into the abandoned space. Forever not once turning his eyes away from where white was interrupted by squares of black concrete - correction, ‘dark matter’, though Forever had yet to discern the apparent difference.
A glance his way wasn’t immediately noticed, until a paw waved his way. Then a look was shared and unspoken consensus met: Walter Bob went left and Forever went right, carefully running the edge of his scythe blade along the wall. This was a place worth exploring.
Had this been an office, or a meeting hall? Or was it all that was left of something that had been much larger, once?
The void blocks were muted, muffled, while the quartz hissed - not quite the shriek of nails on chalkboard, if only because Forever did not push harder than necessary - this was the last place they needed to attract attention to, after all. At one point the scythe even sliced into a forgotten wall poster, curled in on itself from all corners, long wiped clean of its Federation Motto by time and neglect.
Then, the scythe snagged suddenly. Forever turned, tugging, then pulling harder as he realised it was caught on — wood? He pulled again, once, twice, until the blade came free and the remnants of a door fell apart behind it, showing entry to a shallow corridor. One dotted by black squares that ran its length haphazardly, coming to a stop at an all-white wall. Tattered black banners were obscured by unfriendly foliage.
And below them, the familiar grey metal of a warp plate, the dull purple energy pulsing: an active teleport.
“Walter Bob!” The name was called in a strangled hiss, but Forever couldn’t hold back the wave of…not excitement, exactly, though relief wasn’t the word either. But there was a satisfaction of sorts to finally find something shaped like a lead, and he waved again to get the Worker’s attention.
“It was AB, right?” Spoken more to himself than his companion, Forever’s voice pitched louder than he intended. before ducking his head and pushing forwards past the broken door. He recalled the theories, that the blocks might be remnants of where their children has passed through - could that apply here, too? Callused hands pushed aside the vines with effort: they were stiff and unyielding, not unlike the former inhabitants of the abandoned building.
“Walter Bob! Here! I think we need to take this warp!” He gestured to the wall and its banners as he looked back over his shoulder, before his scythe was readied, and Forever stepped onto the plate.
Paws rushed up behind him, just fast enough to catch the last sparkles of a completed teleport, and the bear-like being heaved a sigh in his wake. He could not fault the President for his haste, but this was not a place where they could throw caution to the wind. He glanced back, perpetually worried out of habit, before he paused. A hesitation he did not full understand taking hold.
Walter Bob stopped fully, and took a moment to assessing the banners by himself.
The slanted leg of the A on the left banner wasn’t hard to identify, but the right one was choked, vines reluctant to release the fabrics. But eventually, the straight back of a familiar letter was revealed by impatient fingers. And the curved beginnings at the top and base earned a small gasp.
The A was unmistakeable. But..
If a white furred being could turn pale, Walter Bob would surely have turned transparent as the vines collapsed, unfurling the right-side banner in full.
This was not a plate that would lead to Protocol AB.
The banners fluttered, boldly proclaiming the letters: AD.
Somewhere else, Forever stepped off the warp plate.
And fell.
