Charles, in a meeting: My policy is if you see something, say something.
Peter: I saw a squirrel in a tree today!
Charles, with the tone of someone who is used to Peter: Outstanding.
Charles: This is what I’m talking about people.

If Charles needed anything it was a hug.
Hank: Hey Erik doesn't it just kill you that your son loves Charles more than you?
Erik: Why? I like Charles more than me.
Charles: Erik love...we talked about this!
I blame finals. Lovely, I do enjoy getting your questions. Its one of those things in my life that which is a consent. That and Dadneto.
Erik needs all the hugs. And he needs to be protected at all cost!!!
But, Erik and Charles love their son, Peter. Erik just has a hard time being vulnerable and soft around his adult son, its a bit hard for him because he hasn't had a child that has lived until adulthood. So, its a brave new world for Erik to fully comprehend and its going to take time to get used to. However, Peter only needs to look into his father's eyes to know the depth of his father's love for him. Erik's love comes from his inner most soul. Erik will do anything in his power to protect his son and build a better world for him that's who he's fighting for as Magneto.

For the Anon who asked for fic recs where Charles and Erik are getting/are already divorced; here's a list of my favorites. Note that there are mostly aus on this list as I took your request to mean marriage-divorce not beach divorce :D
Here's the previous rec list on Cherik stories re: proposals/getting married.
Ode to Divorce by GQD, Synekdokee
They were both present at the courthouse, seated at separate desks as they listened to the judge grant them divorce.
When the Spell Breaks – kianspo
Erik, a high-profile lawyer with a successful career, meets a 21-year-old grad student in a bar, and within a few short months marries him. He and Charles are blissfully happy, until Erik’s boss runs a background check on Charles and discovers he’s been cheating on Erik. Charles denies everything, as there was no affair, but Erik doesn’t believe him and throws him out. As Charles tries to figure out how to survive and stay at school that he can no longer afford and makes a lot of bad if not plain dangerous choices, Erik has to fight his own battle of discovering the truth and winning Charles back.
if only you could read my mind by jackgyeoms
Charles blurted “I want a divorce” and Erik blinked.
the things you love don't last by faerie_ground
Charles Xavier's marriage crumbles around him. He can do nothing but watch.
We have not touched the stars, nor are we forgiven (the things you love don't last remix) by hllfire
Charles hands Erik the signed divorce papers, but Erik has changed his mind. Too late, it seems. All he can do is go forward with the divorce. A year later, Charles comes back, and Erik can't help but wanting to see him. The only problem is things don't go like Erik had planned.
we never needed forever by softforsummers (orphan_account)
Seven months after Charles decided being married to Erik was too painful they run into each other at a bar. The smart thing to do would be to leave, run away before their encounter can reopen wounds that have barely begun to start healing. But neither of them have ever been particularly good at resisting the pull of their emotions. Maybe that's why when things fell apart Erik watched Charles walk away.
And So It Is by firstlightofeos
If you believe in love at first sight, look a little closer.
A story about chance meetings, instant connections, and casual betrayals between four strangers who have one thing in common: each other.
[An X-Men: First Class Closer AU.]
tabula rasa (the We have not touched the stars, nor are we forgiven remix) by isthiswhatiam
Charles and Erik's relationship had ended in a messy divorce over a year ago. When Charles comes back to New York after spending a whole year in London, he expects to feel nothing when he sees Erik again. What he doesn't expect is to find out just how wrong he is.
Lean On Me by SpiritsFlame
Ten years ago, Charles and Erik split up, dividing their six kids between them. None of them expect them to meet at summer camp. And no one could have predicted the results.
Note: Not exactly about divorce as they were never married, but they adopted children together - The Parent Trap au :D
Survival and Moving On by Anon on the Kinkmeme [Cherik, M, A/O, Abduction, Violence, Dubcon]
Prompt: Omega!Charles is a brilliant geneticist dedicated to a life of learning and teaching. Alpha!Erik is a revolutionary sworn to protect mutants at all costs. They meet, fall in love, and imprint. For a while, things are all rainbows and sunshine. However, Charles and Erik are two very different people. They care about the same thing (mutant rights, etc) but approach it almost from the opposite end of the other. Eventually things fall apart. They separate while Erik goes off to found his Mutant Brotherhood and Charles settle into the life of a scientist-teacher. But they’re still imprinted partners and it’s a bond that’s only broken with death. Epitaph (On Hold) and Mr. Lehnsherr is ill today, both by a_q [Cherik, M, A/O]
Written for kink meme prompt bringing up the idea how alpha/omega pair might function after a separation, if the heat was only manageable with the fixed mate.
Lonesome On the Shelf by ikeracity
After three years of marriage, Charles has to admit that his relationship with Erik has significantly cooled off. These days, they're barely ever home at the same time and it seems like every conversation they have turns into an argument. Charles misses the way they used to be, misses the spontaneous dinner parties and the surprise morning sex and the wake up calls in the early mornings to catch the sunrise. But it's going to take two of them to fix this marriage, and some days, it seems as if all Erik wants is to be rid of him.
A fic about rekindling marriage.
Note: Not exactly about divorce, but a marriage that's failing.
Lost and then Found by Gerec
Erik Lehnsherr is a detective in the NYPD, happily married for four years to Charles Xavier, Professor of Genetics at Columbia University. At least that's what he thinks when he wakes up in a hospital bed, arm broken and head swathed in bandages, his mother Edie holding his hand. A lot of things happened that he doesn't remember...the most important being the fact that he's no longer married to Charles.
Note: And one by yours truly!

SECOND CHANCE
Tight, black and yellow suit was hot to touch from the heat of the sun. You still remembered that feeling; the hot material underneath your fingers when you were trying to adjust the torn piece on your shoulder to cover your wounded skin from the upcoming blows and punches. You also remembered the fear, the pounding heart in your chest and the metallic taste of blood on your tongue from accidentally biting it after landing flat-faced on the ground when the plane crashed.
And you remembered Erik’s steel blue eyes. He was surprised to see you even hesitate after his invitation to stand by his side. He felt like there was no need for words. Your loyalty was something he wouldn’t dare to overthink. But you didn’t move, you kept standing, petrified. And he kept staring at you and your lungs were starting to fail you. It was so heavy to breathe.
Even Raven left Charles’ side – his somewhat sister – and you kept standing in the same spot with a dry mouth because you had forgotten to swallow.
“(Y/N),” Erik’s voice was stern but you knew him well enough to know that it was a desperate plea more than a request. You had spent so much time together, he took you for granted.
“I’m sorry, Erik, I can’t…” you heard the words leaving your mouth but it felt like someone else had said them. It felt like watching a movie, it was certainly not real.
“(Y/N),” he repeated your name and his jaw clenched but you knew it was not driven by his anger. His world was tumbling down, everything he had known was turning into dust. You were everything he had known and the only person he had. And now you were betraying him… Abandoning him. Just like his mother did because she was just a weak human and couldn’t protect herself from the bullet. Meanwhile, you were a weak mutant – weak, because instead of admiring him, you feared him at that moment. He wasn’t a telepath but he could sense your apprehension.
“I love you…” you heard yourself saying and felt a tear rolling down your cheek. You had never told him that. That state of your feelings was obvious but you had never made that confession. “...but I can’t join you.”
Something told you already that you would regret your decision. You watched them all disappear but you let yourself burst out in tears only after being left alone with Moira, Charles and Hank. You didn’t want Erik to know how much this decision had cost you because then you’d expose yourself to his manipulations and sweet promises and you knew you’d give in.
But you didn’t want to give in and for the first time in your life, you made an important decision all by yourself. It was a tough decision, it was painful and difficult but it was morally good. You should have been proud of yourself but instead you were cursing yourself in your mind.
“Th-thank you,” Charles coughed out and you cracked a smile through your own tears.
You didn’t choose him. It wasn’t about him at all and you could feel deep in your bones that you would grow to hate him for your own decision just because it meant being separated from Erik.
Tumblr media
You woke up abruptly and sat up in your bed while breathing heavily. You couldn’t see anything; it was the middle of the night. You glanced at the clock on your nightstand. Three am. You turned a small lamp on and wiped the sweat off of your forehead before sighing deeply and falling back down on your pillow.
It was raining outside, the sound was making you feel comfortable and somehow safe. Cold rain was a reminder that the hot, sunny day on the beach was far away. The dream was only a memory of something that had happened a long time ago.
“Stop haunting me, you bastard,” you murmured and turned your head around to look at the photograph on your night stand, right between the clock and a small lamp.
It was the only picture of you and Erik ever taken. You were wearing a new red polka dot dress that he had stolen for you in a store in Paris and the picture was taken by the Eiffel Tower. You had been living like Bonnie and Clyde back in the day, or like two superagents; always on a hunt. Chasing traces and clues, never spending more than a few nights in the same place. Back in the day, you had thought that once you’d capture your main target, you’d settle down with Erik.
“But you’re not dead,” you whispered and reached your hand out to caress the picture’s frame. “You’re not a ghost, so you can’t haunt me.”
It was your own heart haunting you with the memory of the day you two had parted. It was caused by regret.
You sighed and rolled over in the huge bed, feeling so small in the middle of it. Ten years earlier, the two of you had been sleeping in it together for a few weeks. It had been the longest time you had ever spent in one place. You had hoped it would become your home.
Your biggest regret was not even the fact that you and Erik were parted. Your biggest regret was that he was in jail now, deep under the ground. And you thought that it wouldn’t had happened… if only you were with him.
On the other hand, every single person that had joined him was dead – except for Raven. That was the argument Charles would often bring up whenever you whined about your current life.
And, God, you hated your life and you hated Charles Xavier. Well, not really. At this point you were like a dysfunctional family – but still a family – so you couldn’t say that you hated him. But he was an asshole, addicted to alcohol and that medicine that Hank had prepared for him. The mansion was dark and dirty, full of spiderwebs and dust. You only took care of your bedroom and the en suite bathroom. It wasn’t your job to be a maid of Charles and Hank.
At first your life hadn’t been so bad. You had been a teacher, you had your students and your schedule had been distracting you from thinking of Erik all the time. But now your life was full of long and boring days without any purpose and meaning. You were wasting your life away and you couldn’t even be with a man whom you loved. You spent most of your time reading books, taking walks around the neglected garden and taking long naps.
You turned the lamp off and formed a big roll out of your duvet to put your arms around it like it was a person. It would help you to fall asleep on nights like this.
“Are you thinking of me, too?” you asked quietly before drifting away to the land of dreams once again.
Tumblr media
The arrival of that man known as Logan was the first exciting thing that had happened to you in years. And when he mentioned something about helping Erik to escape the Pentagon, you felt the mixture of anxiety and excitement.
The possibility of seeing Erik again was worth risking everything. Even if he wouldn’t want to look at you twice after all these years, after the abandonment and betrayal. You just wanted to see him again, look into his eyes, feel him being real and alive. You wanted the constant yearning and guilt to go away. You felt like you owed him the escape.
Of course Charles didn’t want to do it but it was about Raven more than about Erik, so he gave in. But he knew very well that you couldn’t wait to see your lover again so he kept giving you weird looks. And he wasn’t the only one.
“What is it?” you asked after spotting Logan in your mirror.
You were in your bedroom, preparing yourself to go with them all to find some mutant boy who was extremely fast.
“I’m sorry,” he emerged from the darkness and cleared his throat after properly entering your room instead of lurking inside through the ajar door.
“Don’t be sorry,” you shrugged your arms and fixed your hair. “I’m just wondering why are you scared of me. Or intimidated by me, I don’t know how to interpret your odd looks and why you’re avoiding me,” you explained and turned around to face him.
“Rule number one of a time traveller,” he cracked a smile, “is that you can’t reveal anything about the future.”
“Oh, so it has something to do with my future,” you cocked an eyebrow. “Now you have to tell me,” you insisted. “Are we, like, enemies?”
“It’s the first time I’m meeting you in real life,” he admitted and you furrowed your brows. “You’re more of a legend, I’d say. A myth perhaps.”
Your heart skipped a beat at that revelation. So, in the future you were apparently long gone. You only hoped that you wouldn’t die before making things right between you and Erik again.
“How will I die?”
“Perhaps not at all if we prevent Raven killing Trask,” he explained and you sighed with relief.
One thing you had in common with Charles was your hope – sometimes too naive and too innocent for your own good. But after finding out that this part of your future remains unwritten, for you it was like it wouldn’t happen at all. You had hope that you would manage to stop Raven. You were almost certain of it.
But still, there was some universe, some version of the timeline, where you had died.
“But when I died…” you started.
“I really don’t want to give you any details,” he shook his head.
“Just one thing, please,” you pleaded. “Was I with him again before that?”
Logan laughed a little and you furrowed your brow.
“So… That’s why Magneto is so dangerous,” he explained. “If I lost a woman who loved me so much, I would swear to destroy everything, too.”
You felt your cheeks heating up a little at that comment. It still wasn’t an answer to your question but it was enough – Erik loved you. Still.
“Let’s go,” you said and left the room to join Hank and Charles downstairs.
Tumblr media
Charles decided it would be a bad idea for you to go to the Pentagon with the rest of them. You were supposed to wait for them on a plane – just in case they got into some sort of trouble, you’d be out of it so you could rescue them. That was Charles’ explanation. But in fact, he wasn’t sure of what you’d do after seeing Erik for the first time in ten years.
You were sitting in one of the seats, fixing your hair all the time, nervous of the way you looked. After all, ten years had passed and you weren’t as young as you had been on that beach when you had seen him for the last time. On your lap there was a bag with new clothes for Erik to wear so he wouldn’t have to walk around in a prisoner’s uniform. Your palms were sweaty and shaky as your heart pounded so loud that you couldn’t hear anything else.
There was a lump in your throat and a pit in your stomach as you chewed on your lower lip. And then you heard a whoosh sound and all of the guys showed up in front of you. At first, you didn’t react, too shocked to do anything.
When you realized that it was, in fact, Erik standing in front of you – real and alive – you stood up abruptly as the bag fell down off of your lap to the ground. He made wide eyes at you, Charles probably hadn’t told him that you’d be waiting.
“Let’s get out of here,” said Charles and sat down in one of the seats. Logan followed him while Hank sat behind the steer. Erik and you were still standing and staring at each other.
He hadn't changed much. His hair was shorter and there were a few more wrinkles on his face, but that would be it. You hoped he was thinking the same about you.
“I… I’ve got clothes for you… To ch-change,” you crouched down to pick up the bag before handing it to him.
It felt so surreal to see him again that you couldn’t even say “hello”.
“Thank you,” was all he said and your fingers brushed when he was taking the bag from you. Your whole body felt like it had been hit with an electric bolt.
Erik walked past you to go to the bathroom and you turned around to watch his back disappear behind the door.
“Wait,” you breathed out and followed him inside. Both Charles and Logan turned their heads to watch the scene. It had to be entertaining for them.
But they couldn’t see anything anyway because you closed the door after walking inside the bathroom after Erik. You couldn’t control your own body, it was all impulses and instincts leading your actions.
“What are you–” Erik started but you clashed your lips with his before he could finish the question.
He was surprised and taken aback at first but eventually he placed his big hands on both of your cheeks and pulled you even closer. You tangled your hands in his hair and opened your mouth wider to let him devour you with a kiss.
Long time ago you had been laying in bed together, in one of the cities that you had only been passing by. You remembered watching some war movie on TV in a hotel room and you remembered the long on-screen kiss. Your head had been on Erik’s chest and you had looked up to watch his face as you had been wondering what it was like to kiss someone after such a long time. Now you knew.
He broke the kiss when he felt your wet tears on his thumbs. You both caught your breaths and he wiped your cheeks gently. His own eyes were glistening, too.
“I thought you were with him now,” he said.
You took a step back – as much as the small bathroom allowed you to.
“You asshole,” you clenched your jaw and turned around to open the door and leave but he locked it without even lifting a finger. And when you tried to unlock it aggressively, he kept locking it back again until you gave up with a sigh and faced him again. “First thing you do after seeing me again is accusing me of cheating?” you asked, disappointed.
“Cheating? That would mean we were together all this time,” he raised an eyebrow. “As far as I remember, you chose him.”
“I know you were fucking Raven,” you pursed your lips to stop yourself from crying more, “and that other woman, too, probably. Emma, that was her name, right? Angel, too, I assume. I don’t care. I didn’t choose to go with you, you were free to do whatever you wanted. But it doesn’t mean that I didn’t choose to go with you because of him. I chose that for myself. And I have hated myself for it every day since then. I wanted to be a good person and do the right thing but turns out I am not. I am not a good person. Because all I want is to be with you again,” you confessed and blinked a few times to dry your fresh tears.
“You weren’t looking for me. I was waiting for you to change your mind and join me,” Erik clenched his jaw like he was waiting for some complicated explanation. But the answer was easy.
“I was afraid of you. I was afraid of the man I had seen on that beach, Erik. All these years we spent together, you had never told me what had been truly hiding in your head. I always thought it was about hunting Schmidt. I never knew you shared his ideas,” you swallowed thickly and sniffled.
“I didn’t want you to ever be afraid of me,” Erik’s fingers raised your chin up as he looked deep into your eyes. “You know that protecting you is my priority, always. Even if it means destroying the world,” he confessed as your eyes widened. It reminded you of what Logan had said earlier.
“I know,” you cracked a smile and he caressed your cheek. You leaned in to kiss the palm of his hand and held onto his wrist for a moment while looking into his eyes. “Will you do everything right this time? For me? I don’t want you to destroy the world. I just want you to fix everything so we can get the second chance,” you explained. “In our old room in Charles’ house there is still a drawer full of your clothes and I still wash them sometimes, pretending that you are using them, pretending that you’re going to come back soon. I make up the bed on your side and I keep a razor in the bathroom in case you wanted to shave,” you kept talking and talking and you knew that you were blabbering at this point but after all these years, you had to let it all out, along with the tears rolling down your cheeks uncontrollably now.
Erik furrowed his brow as his eyes full of pain were watching your face. Eventually, he shushed you and pressed your head to his chest to give you a comforting hug. The one you had been craving for so long.
“I will fix everything,” he made a promise and rubbed your back before giving kisses to your temple and the top of your head. “But I don’t think I want to go back to that house. I don’t think I can share Charles’ ideas and optimism.”
“It’s alright,” you shook your head. Now it was time for you to make a promise, too. “This time I will follow you wherever you go.”

Summary: In which Charles, terrorised by his abusive ex, takes his young son to a small town in America, where they both settle down and make friends with their neighbours. Particularly the town mechanic, Erik, and his foster son, Alex. Requester stated they wanted to "drown in H/C. "
Can’t Buy Me Love – niniblack
Summary: Erik's a single dad struggling to make it work and nab the promotion he's been waiting for. The last thing he needs is to get involved with politician and notorious playboy Charles Xavier.
(The Maid in Manhattan pastiche that no one asked for.)
Ohana – royal_chandler
Summary: Erik's children are absolute hellions. If by hellions, one means children who are incredibly protective of their new family unit and won't let a few household mishaps get in the way of keeping it together.
One Second and a Million Miles – magneto
Summary: Between being a parent to the best baby in the history of man-kind and co-running a Mutant Center in Hell's Kitchen, Erik Lehnsherr has his hands pretty full. Too full, certainly for romance; something that has never really been on his radar to begin with.
All that changes, however, when he meets Dr. Charles Xavier. Handsome, intelligent, capable, kind, an Omega level telepath, and one of the best pediatricians in the state, he's everything Erik didn't know he was looking for. But he's also Lorna's pediatrician which means, of course, he's off-limits. Except how is Erik supposed to try and forget his crush when he and Charles keep running into each other as if fate is trying to tell them something? When, as Charles says, they seem to want the same thing?
Her Only Mutations Were Her Blue Eyes and Her Auburn Hair – Pookaseraph
Summary: While sneaking back out of Russia, Erik and Charles stumble across Anya, Erik's presumed dead daughter, and it changes quite a few little things along the way. Fluffy, self-indulgent, fix-it.
Despicably Yours – Cesare, veryorangecat
Summary: Erik Lehnsherr, AKA Magneto, is a supervillain without equal... except maybe one: Charles Xavier, AKA Professor X, AKA Erik's next door neighbor. When their competition heats up, Erik decides the only way to get ahead is to adopt four mutant orphans to infiltrate Charles's mansion.
Things don't go as planned.
The Wrong Impression – Rosawyn
Summary: Charles is trying to balance the responsibilities of his career with his responsibilities as a single father to a tiny baby. It's not something he ever thought he'd have to do, and it's not as easy as those women on the internet make it look! He does't have much of a social life (unless talking to his sister on the phone and attending a parents' class where he's the only guy count), and he doesn't even have time to think of dating. He's just trying to keep his job - and keep his son fed and healthy.
Marrying a Mob – Ook
Summary: Charles is a teacher at a very exclusive school. When armed men burst in on the trail of two children, of course he stands up to them and gets hurt. The children are Erik Lehnsherr's children (of course); a "prominent businessman" or, less politely, "mobster".
Erik is grateful to Charles for saving his children's lives at the cost of his kneecap. So very grateful.
Naturally he tries to reward Charles for his actions. Equally naturally, Charles will be having none of that.
Azazel finds the whole thing unspeakably hilarious. Naturally.

THE APOCALYPSE —
Clark was forced to just watch the bloom of fire and smoke and debris take out part of Liberty Bridge. He stumbled backward into a podium, but for a second he did nothing. Then all of a sudden he surged forward and slammed his fists against the screen until the entire thing had gone black, cracking into a spidery formation that reached the edges. Without the Kryptonite diminishing his power, a hit like that would've taken out both the screen and the wall behind it. "No!"
Joker had said it was a choice, but Joker was a liar. Even if there were only one bomb, it still meant that Superman failed, didn't it? He... failed. He'd sworn to protect the citizens of Star City and already he’d broken that promise. He couldn't even make it out of the room. What was stopping Joker from choosing for him again? Nothing.
...Nothing.
Panic seized him, although heavily aided by the fear gas Joker had dosed him with. He couldn't watch it happen to Lois, to his son, or Kara and Eva. He couldn't let the catastrophic vision he'd had be the reality. He’d already failed Star City and its people, but how could he fail his family?
Clark turned from the broken screen as the timer edged closer to the ten second mark and then pass it. His blood was like ice in his veins. Like a man possessed, barely even aware that he was moving his arm, he made his choice.
The city was already in Joker’s clutches. He had to save his family.
Tumblr media
Here it was. The moment of truth. Once Superman’s powerful hand smacked down, it became clear that Joker had been expertly playing a game.  Not just with Superman, but the entire city. He’d said everyone loved a good plot twist - well, he managed not one, but two.
In Star City, a great rumbling sounded preceded a sudden BOOM. Every billboard-sized screen that Joker had placed throughout the city to play the live feed for his captive audience exploded into color. Literally. Glittering confetti shot out from strategically placed cannons and rained down into the streets below. Superman chose to sacrifice Star City and Joker had promised a show.
With festive flecks of paper and glitter settling over the confused crowd, a maniacal laugh cut through the shocked silence. “Silly, silly. Why would I give NOVA what they wanted? Why, you and I share a common enemy! No, no. I don’t think Star City will go boom today. For the real finale, turn your attention westward!”
On the heels of Joker’s cryptic warning, a second round of confetti cannons deployed. The air was filled once more with sparkling bits of color as the sky five hundred miles away ballooned in orange and yellow fire.
Tumblr media
At the new NOVA headquarters, where Jihl Nabel was currently surrendering, the ground and sky split without warning. The mouth of hell itself would have opened with less ferocity. For one suspended moment the blast made no sound, instead everyone was blanketed by an unnatural silence that would not last. Those present had no time to react before the building and its surroundings was swallowed by light and blasted apart, leaving only pieces of foundation, twisted metal, and a thick covering of ash.
Around the NOVA agents and Colonel Jihl Nabel, an unstoppable force of radiation, heat, and pressure closed in. Anything and anyone not aided by shielding or superhuman ability would be consumed and disintegrated by the blast. A shockwave powerful enough to crush cars followed, leveling anything that remained standing after the initial blast. A deafening, indescribable sound replaced the eerie silence as the world around them was blown apart at the seams.
For those who survived, they would be choking on smoke so thick it felt solid and caught in their throats. Visibility was at first nonexistent, but an account of bodies would show several missing. There was no sign of Jihl Nabel or any of the agents who’d backed her, and a grisly discovery awaited the survivors.
Once the ash was disturbed, Batman’s shredded cowl lay on the ground.
Star City had survived, but at what cost?
TEAM A:
MEMBERS: Bruce Wayne, Steve Rogers, Diana Prince, Barry Allen, Oliver Queen, Erik Lehnsherr, Wanda Maximoff, Anna Raven, Jihl Nabel, Bucky Barnes, Dick Grayson, Clint Barton, Natasha Romanoff, & Tommy Shepherd.
LOCATION: NOVA’s new Headquarters, 500 miles outside of Star City.
STATUS: Communications are down, meaning contact to League members and others is not currently possible. The area in and around the destroyed headquarters is unstable and should be evacuated, but Bruce’s absence has scrambled priorities.
TEAM B:
MEMBERS: Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne, Barbara Gordon, Cassandra Cain, Stephanie Brown, Jim Gordon, Roy Harper, Anton Satan, Wally West, Ted Kord, Donna Troy, & Airen Ravencroft.
LOCATION: Wayne Manor, Joker’s hideout, Harley’s hideout, Star City
STATUS: Red Robin, Wonder Girl, Fox Tail, and Red Hood have closed in on Joker’s hideout. Superman is still held inside, weakened severely by Kryptonite and Fear Gas. Confrontation is inevitable, and Joker will not be alone. Batgirl, Black Bat, and (formerly) Robin are following clues to reach the kidnapped Kara, Eva, Jon, and Lois. Elsewhere, Anton Satan has finally found the location of his family and is also on track to rescue them. Other team members assisting with the evacuation will focus on ensuring the safety of citizens still inside the city and tending to the wounded.
TEAM C:
MEMBERS: Scott Summers, Bobby Drake x 2, Julian Keller, Gabby Kinney, Nathan Summers, & Quentin Quire.
LOCATION: Glades Bay, District X, Star City
STATUS: The X-Men will join the remaining members of Team B, the SCPD, and others in securing the city, aiding with medical treatment, and transport. While the threat from Joker appears to be over, aside from the mountains of confetti, plenty of damage has been done. The alternate evacuation route created by Iceman will be maintained, as Liberty Bridge remains in disrepair after the explosion.
At this time, it is unknown to anyone on the outside whether or not there are any survivors from Team A.

Magnetic Push - Erik Lehnsherr x Male!OC - Part 6
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fandom: X-Men: Days Of Future Past (2014)
Pairing: Karmel Rosenstein (OC) x Erik Lehnsherr
Warnings: Swearing, Gay, Spoilers for X-Men: Days Of Future Past,
Notes: hehe erik tiddie, The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) reference,
“Yesterday, the Paris Peace Summit was rocked by the appearance of unidentified assailants, the likes of which the world has never seen" a news reporter on the TV spoke. "Mass hysteria has gripped the nation as people ask: 'where did they come from?' 'Will they be back?' And most importantly, 'are they friend or foe?'"
The President- along with Trask and other government officials- all stood watch of the four TV's in the Office, watching Erik, Karmel, Raven, and Hank on the other three TV's.
"That was London correspondent Toby Elliot reporting from the Paris Peace Summit yesterday" another news reporter reminded.
"Fuck me" Nixon cursed, going to sit behind his desk. "What the hell are we dealing with here? Off the record."
"Two days ago, these men, Erik Lehnsherr and Karmel Rosenstein, escaped from a maximum-security prison inside the Pentagon" one official spoke, placing a file on Nixon's desk. "We believe that this woman is a former associate of theirs. They were all together in Cuba, the day of the crisis in sixty-two. The two men were also implicated in Kennedy's assassination" he explained, placing Erik's and Karmel's mugshots on the desk as well, setting another file on top of them.
"What about that thing?" Nixon asked, referring to Hank.
"We don't know what that thing is, sir. Actually, we really don't know what any of them are" another official replied, from where he sat.
"Yes. Yes, we do" Trask corrected, walking into the light. "They're mutants" he clarified, walking over to the TV. "Erik has the power to control metal. Last I checked, that's what most of your weapons are made of. Karmel has the power to summon vines from either out of himself or his surroundings and control them. And she can transform into anyone" he explained, pointing at Raven. "A general, a secret serviceman. Even you, Mr. President. She could walk into this office and order a nuclear strike, if she was in the mood. And that's only three of them."
"Well, do we have any countermeasures? Any defense?" Nixon inquired.
"I was waiting for you to ask me that question." Trask admitted, placing a folder in front of Nixon.
"That's...an experimental program, sir. Strictly off the books" the first official said.
Nixon grabbed what Trask gave him, opening it up. "You're telling me these mutants are out in the world, and our best defense are these giant, metal robots?"
"Many of the mutants look like us" Trask reminded, referring to Erik and Karmel. "My Sentinels can tell the difference. I have eight prototypes ready to go. They're built out of a space-age polymer, not an ounce of metal on them. Plus, they're way too heavy for someone with Karmel's frame to simply pull down."
Nixon looked up at Trask, then around the silent room. All eyes were on him. "I want to make a demonstration. I want the world to know that we can protect them. What do you need to get these things operational?"
"I already gave that number to Congress. Unfortunately, they elected to shut me down. It's going to cost a bit more to turn them on."
"Whatever you need" Nixon agreed.
"Oh, and, one more thing. If we do manage to capture them, I would like her" Trask suggested, pointing over at Raven on the first TV screen. "For research purposes, of course."
"I don't care who you screw, as long as it's not me. I just don’t want another rich family heir like Rosenstein to attempt another assassination."
***
Karmel and Erik were able to gain access into a hotel room that night. He found out what Erik had stolen from Trask was a film roll for those robots Trask wanted to create. Karmel was also extremely grateful for finding scissors in their hotel room, because now his hair was back to its normal length.
A French news reporter droned on a small TV in the corner of the room, as Erik used his powers to stitch up the wounds Hank caused on both the back of his head and Karmel's head.
Karmel winced in pain, holding Erik's hand tightly as Erik controlled the film roll, spinning it up and down as it projected onto the wall.
Erik turned to look at the TV, watching a recording of some government official scraping up Raven's DNA from the scene outside the other hotel earlier that day.
Karmel kept his eyes on the blue, floating film. "Those are some ugly-ass robots" he scoffed.
"Forgive Trask for not designing them to be good-looking more than their sole purpose" Erik returned, sarcastically.
"Ow-" Karmel hissed, his hand trailing down his bare chest. "I gotta say, it's nice being free, again, but- ow- I kinda miss how safe the cell was" he huffed. "I miss not knowing how much Charlie hates my goddamn guts."
Erik looked at him, slowly licking his lips. "He doesn't...He doesn't hate you, Karmel" he told. "Charles hates me, and what he thinks I've done to you, and Raven. He thinks I've poisoned your mind."
"He's just mad my views have always aligned more with yours than his and that he couldn't change that" Karmel replied. He looked down at Erik's bracelet on his wrist, it was the only piece of clothing he currently adorned from the waist-up. He didn’t exactly consider his bandages to be clothing. "He said I abandoned him, as if- as if he wasn't the one who fucking told me to go with you, remember? He said it was what I wanted, and he was right. Why's he trying to twist me into being the fucking bad guy?"
Erik shrugged. "A psychic's mind can obviously be a strange place. We can't let them get into ours, y'know? Which is why tomorrow, we're going back to the Pentagon."
"Back-? Why? I was lying about the cell thing, y'know-"
"No worries, love. We're just going to retrieve a couple things we left behind."
Karmel softly furrowed his eyebrows. Once he was all stitched up, he slipped his shirt back on and started to button it up. Karmel nodded silently, turning back to the robot reels. "I admire you, y'know?" Karmel told. "No psychic in the world needs to read my mind to find that out how much I love you."
Erik smiled softly. "I admire you too, Karmel. 'Til the end of time, right?"
Karmel nodded, happy that Erik remembered the little saying that they had made up for one another. "Even then, you'll still be mine."
Erik nodded, throwing a shirt on. ”I adore you, Karmel, y’know that?”
“Oh yea?” Karmel raised his eyebrows. ”Tell me some good things about me then; tell me some good things about Karmel Rosenstein” he challenged, crossing his arms.
“Good things about Karmel Rosenstein?” Erik scoffed. ”Could take me some time.”
Karmel rolled his eyes.
Erik thought back to what he told Charles on the plane, as Karmel slept. ”Karmel is talented. Karmel is tender...Karmel is beautiful” he listed.
Karmel giggled, “you’re such a liar.”
Erik had a knowing look on his face- this is exactly what he told Charles that Karmel would do. ”Karmel is...Karmel is a mystery. Karmel is not a nobody,” he shook his head along with his statement. ”Karmel has secrets he doesn’t want to tell me...and I wish he would.”
Karmel crossed his arms, the corner of his lip twitching up for a moment.
“Karmel has nightmares,” Erik softly held Karmel’s crossed arms, careful not to evade his personal space. ”That’s not a good thing. Karmel has someone to love him,” he pointed at himself, a smile on his face that made Karmel’s chest warm and fuzzy. ”That is a good thing.”

Steven Universe: The Fantastic Mutants chapter 6: Frightful Finale (originally posted on April 7, 2021)
AN: It's been far too long since I entered the world of Marvel Gems. What with Steven Universe: Alternate Future, the holiday season and my return to college, I've just kinda got distracted from my big crossover universe. But no longer! I will resolve Fantastic Mutants and maybe get to work on the next stories in this trilogy, no matter the cost.
Also, one disclaimer before we start. My deepest concerns go out to the family of Tom Kane, who I imagined voicing Magneto in here in a reprisal of his role from Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Wolverine & the X-Men. Keep in mind that I came up with the cast long before he had that possibly career-ending stroke. Anyways, let's get a move on at last.
--
The moment that the Blackbird landed in Doomstadt, the Ultimate Alliance immediately charged to Castle Doom, ready to rescue Steven and stop Doctor Doom & Magneto.
"Hang on Steven, we're coming!" Connie yelled while riding atop Lion. Deadpool was behind her on the big cat, hoisting a boombox over his head that blasted 'I Need A Hero' as the heroes drew closer to the castle.
However, armies of Doombots dropped from the tops of the castle walls to defend their master from the invaders. The robots began firing lasers while setting up protective shields around the entrance to their namesake's palace, to keep them from breaking in.
"Oh great, Doombots." The Thing groaned, but then began getting himself pumped up. "But then again, I've been waiting this whole adventure to say this! Y'all know what time it is?"
"It's only 2:50 pm, Ben. Why?" Pearl answered quizzically.
"Dumbass, he's gonna say the thing!" Deadpool yelled excitedly.
"You got it!" Ben grinned as he turned to the Doombots. "IT'S CLOBBERIN' TIME!" Right off the bat, the ever-lovin' blue-eyed beast began tearing Doombots apart, which excited Amethyst greatly.
"Now this is more my style!" Amethyst cheered, and she joined Ben in tearing the robots apart.
"Good, you two keep them distracted while we break down the doors!" Wolverine commanded as the rest went to beat down the entrance. However, with every Doombot taken down, more began popping up.
"They don't seem to be stopping!" Amethyst said. "Can this get any worse?"
"As a matter of fact, it possibly can." Garnet predicted with her future vision, just as the castle entrance went down and the Frightful Four emerged from behind it.
"The doctor has ordered us to keep you from getting in his way." The Wizard announced. "But it seems we might have our work cut out for us with this many intruders."
"Just as long as he still does whatever he wants to do with that dumb kid he had captured." Mole-Man responded.
"We'd rather die than let you harm Steven!" Peridot yelled, taking up arms with the remains of some Doombots nearby to form a massive sword.
"Ah, who cares?" Trapster shrugged. "He's got more where they came from anyway."
Even more Doombots emerged to fight the Ultimate Alliance, and they seemed stronger than those before them.
"Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and I will take care of these villains!" Connie began planning. "The rest of you take on the rest of the Doombots!"
"You got it!" Lapis obliged. "Hey, where's the Professor?"
"I am staying behind in the Blackbird, but I shall assist in any form I can from here." Xavier announced from the plane using his telepathy.
With a nod to each other, Connie and the primary Crystal Gems prepared for battle against the Frightful Four.
--
All around the operating room that Steven was forced into by Doctor Doom, various medical devices surrounded the boy as Victor experimented on his hybrid nature. Doom had taken blood samples, X-rays, extractions of saliva, but it was nothing short of a breakthrough.
"There has to be something I could use." Doom muttered to himself as he examined his gathered data. "I've been working tirelessly, yet still nothing is working!"
"You'll never win Doom." Steven said weakly. "No matter how hard you try, my powers will never be used for your evil deeds."
"Famous last words Steven." Doctor Doom scoffed scornfully at the boy, but then he began gazing upon his gem. "Wait, that's it! I'll just have to take out your gemstone! I have yet to decide on what to do after that, but I believe I just made a breakthrough!"
A dull thud sound was then heard throughout the operating room.
"What was that?" Doom asked quietly.
The thudding got even louder and louder until finally, Juggernaut's fist broke through the wall and allowed Kitty Pryde & Mystique to leap through the hole.
"Kitty!" Steven cried happily. "And Mystique?"
"No time for questions." Mystique said to Steven. "Creed, now!"
On Raven's command, Sabretooth leaped into action and used his adamantium claws to break Steven free from the operating table he was restrained to.
"Wait, why are you helping me?" Steven asked the Brotherhood members as he lifted himself off the table.
"It's because of you, squirt." Sabretooth answered. "Magneto was all like, 'Ooh, we can't let him harm a fellow mutant even if he promised to help us with our cause', all thanks to you. But then again, he did basically have the same endgame as your X-Men friends anyhow, just with more violent extra steps."
--
Back outside the castle, Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl & Connie were all pitted against the Frightful Four, one of them fighting one member each.
"So what's your origin Wiz?" Amethyst asked the Wizard. "Were you laughed at because of your poor fashion sense?!"
"Oh haha, very funny." Bentley Wittman scoffed. "I'm merely jealous of the Four's fame, especially that infernal Human Torch!"
"Oh, so classic jealousy then?" Amethyst replied before using her whips to tie up the Wizard and spin him around. "Geez, grow some dang humility!"
Meanwhile, Pearl was pitted against the Puppet Master, who had decided to defend himself with animated statues of his current boss.
"My puppets are unstoppable!" the Puppet Master boasted, but Pearl proved him wrong by cutting them down with her spear. "What?!"
"You should consider thinking before you speak." Pearl snidely replied before the statues simply put themselves back together. "Wait, how?!"
"It's puppetry, I don't have to explain it!" Phillip Masters shrugged.
"Kinda like how no one can explain your girlish features!" Deadpool jeered the puppeteer's appearance, which caused a puppet to punch him in the face.
"So your gimmick is that you have this gun you use to trap people with?" Connie asked the Trapster while expertly dodging his special glue.
"Yeah, I mean, it's in my name." Petruski replied and aimed his paste gun at her.
"Didn't you go by a different name in the past?" Connie remarked, making the Trapster frightened and then furious. "I think it was Paste Pot Pete, right?"
"SHADDUP!" the villain formerly known as Paste Pot Pete yelled angrily, and he wildly fired his paste gun everywhere he could point it at, covering random spots with his glue. "DON'T CALL ME PASTE POT!"
Connie thought quickly and just as Pete was about to fire his paste at her, she cut the gun in two, disarming him.
Finally, Garnet was pitted against Harvey Elder, aka the Mole-Man, who despite his abnormal height and poor vision, he was able to keep up with her with a fighting style resembling bojutsu that he used his staff for.
"We won't let you keep us from Steven!" Garnet yelled while the leader of the Moloids ran circles around her. "Why are you throwing your lot in with Doom, anyways?"
"He promised us things in exchange for our services!" the Mole Man declared. "Very special things, riches, glory, our own castles!"
"Well, my future vision tells me he won't actually give you those things." Garnet informed Harvey. "Instead he'll just run and hide once defeated while you're left to be arrested."
"WHAT?!" Harvey exclaimed in shock, leaving him open to get punched in the face.
--
"I thought I could trust you Erik!" Doom exclaimed as he stared down the master of magnetism. "Now you dare turn on Doom for that boy?!"
"He is essentially a mutant, just like I." Magneto boldly declared as he defended Steven and Kitty. "And I refuse to allow you to do him any harm."
"This is my land you mutated ingrate!" the doctor roared. "I can do whatever I please here, and you are powerless to stop me, lest you incur the people's wrath for endangering political immunity!"
"When has political immunity ever stopped the Brotherhood?!" Magneto boomed, floating up as a show of power. "Men call me Magneto, master of magnets! And I welcome you to die!"
Using his mutant abilities, Erik made everything in the operating room float in the air with a raise of his arm, and threw that arm down to launch them all at Doom. "Go children, find your friends! I shall handle things from here."
"Right." Steven obliged before he and Kitty fled the battle, leaving the leader of the Brotherhood to combat the king of Latveria.
Doctor Doom burst from the pile that Magneto had trapped him in, and retaliated with a powerful electric shock and that sent Magneto flying into a wall.
"Damn you!" Lehnsherr growled, creating a barrier around him to defend from further damage and unleash electromagnetic shocks from the barrier.
"Come here!" Doom roared, lunging at the mutant terrorist.
--
"The Gems have got to be outside the castle!" Steven exclaimed as he and Kitty ran from a slowly growing army of Doombots chasing them down.
"How would you know that?" Kitty asked.
"I remember when the Doombot said that the castle had intruders, that must be them!" Steven reminded his mutant pal while a Doombot tried to grab him. Suddenly, that same Doombot was stabbed through the neck by Lady Deathstrike's claws.
"Can't believe we're resorting to this." Deathstrike muttered before turning to the children. "I suppose you are looking for those Gems, correct? Go, we'll handle things from here."
As the pair continued running, Avalanche and Pyro appeared beside Yuriko to fight. With a confident nod, Avalanche stomped his foot and caused the castle to cave in on the robots, crushing them to bits.
As for Pyro, he was busy melting more Doombots into liquid metal, which gave the Blob an opening to run them all over with his immense girth.
"Oy, wait up ya squirts!" Juggernaut yelled as he bolted through the wall, covered in Doombot remains. Behind him, Toad and Mystique joined the massive mutate as Steven & Kitty finally reached the front of the castle, where the Crystal Gems, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, the X-Force, Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver were waiting.
"Steven!" Pearl yelled excitedly as she wrapped her arms around Steven, and Garnet, Amethyst & Connie followed suit. "We were so worried sick, are you alright?"
"I'm fine." Steven answered. "He just took some samples of my blood and saliva, that's all."
"Steven, long time no see!" Spider-Man cried, giving the half-Gem a high five.
"Peter, Wanda, Pietro!" Steven replied, seeing the web-slinger along with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.
"Ah, so you brought my children along?" Magneto asked as he suddenly appeared behind Steven with the Brotherhood behind him. "How quaint."
"Magneto!" Wolverine yelled, and he and the X-Men got ready for a fight, but then Xavier strolled in on his wheelchair. "Uh, Chuck?"
"Erik." Charles politely greeted his archrival.
"Charles." Erik replied in kind. "It seems we are once again at a point where we must align our interests for a common good."
"Indeed it is." The Professor examined thoughtfully.
"Uh, I guess this is pretty common, right?" Amethyst asked the pair of elderly mutants.
"Quite so Amethyst." Xavier declared. "Now then, what brought you to turn on Doom?"
"It was that boy there." Magneto revealed while pointing at Steven. "He convinced me that I could never allow a fellow mutant to be harmed, and I allowed him and Ms. Pryde to flee while I contended with Doom."
On that topic, the Frightful Four rose up to strike back against the Gems. "Et tu Magneto?!" the Mole Man yelled. "Well, we'll see who has the last laugh when the doctor comes for you all!"
Just then, loud mechanical wheezes and groans came from deeper within the castle. Everybody gathered turned back to the front gates and decided to go inside, hoping to see what was up.
--
"That helmeted fool shall rue the day he ever crossed me!" Doctor Doom muttered hatefully to himself as he tended to a massive machine until a security screen brought up the Ultimate Alliance making their way through his castle, now joined by the Brotherhood of Mutants. "Excellent." Doom purred before he pressed a few buttons on one of his metal gauntlets, causing the machines to turn on. "If Steven won't let me have that gem, I'll rip it from his corpse!"
Four gigantic purple and blue robots slowly stood up straight as their eyes began glowing four different colors, blue, red, green and white. The Sentinels Victor had been waiting to complete were finally ready, and he couldn't be happier to unleash them on his foes.
--
Phew, so glad I finally finished this! This took ages to write, since I intended to finish this chapter in February but then Alternate Future and college got in the way, plus I'm starting to get a little burned out since I have to balance two massive Steven Universe fanfictions. Hopefully I can at least get the next story started in the summer. But I'm getting ahead of myself, sorry to keep you waiting!

"Come back to me, Pietro," Erik said in a hushed under breath as the father kissed each finger before finishing on the back of his hand. Erik placed Pietro's hand back on the hospital bed. They came to this sterile and cold place; unfeeling; bloody and in desperate need of help.
Erik could only watch as his sohn's chest fell and rise intermixed with the beeping and electronic sounds of the medical equipment kept with the task of keeping his boy, his last remaining blood alive; it was sadly inadequate. Not even his mind brushing against Charles's glow could reassure him. A place that he did not want to be in, nor wished he'd return to. Yet here he was next to sohn...
Erik sang Mi Sheberach loud and true; over and over until it broke and cracked. Pleading with God not take his sohn away. Cried and sobbed and sobbed. He stayed at his sohn's bedside. Charles pleaded with him. Raven pleaded with him. Scott and the rest of the X-Men pleaded with him. Erik refused to leave his baby's side for in fear if he left, Peter would leave them. His sohn had to be protected at all cost. He failed him in the battlefield. He would not fail him, here and now.
The Master of Magnetism, Magneto the Miraculous (to his admirers) or the Merciless (to his enemies), despite all his power over electromagnetic field and magnetism in all its form from the freedom of flight to the morphing of metal to shape it into his own image; Erik Lehnsherr was indeed still human and needed sleep. In the haziness of between wakefulness in twilights and complete deep sleep in the depths of the night; a blanket well worn and comfy placed upon him by gentle hand and a familiar presence of a metal wheelchair and a kiss on his forehead.
A wobbly hand brushed against temple, Erik's eyes shot open. Pietro gave a small smile, his sliver hair thinner than it was. Erik catapulted himself to his son, to hold him, to feel his heart beating, to know that he was alive. Tears poured down his unkept whiskery face as he rained down kisses.
"Hey, Dadneto..." Pietro's voice loopy from all the pain meds that were pumped into him, "I--I'm glad you--you're in my life. Y--You a-a-are a good Dad--Dadneto." Pietro fell asleep in his arms.
@iwillshipyouman I got you more cake to eat your heart out!!!

Hunt Me - Chapter Two
Please read the tags on the masterlist! Masterlist ***** ***** *****
Luck was on Erik’s side that night. The human had gone straight to bed without switching on the light. This allowed Erik the opportunity to watch him sleep and admire his beauty. He was careful not to touch, certain that the human would wake if he dared.
But temptation was winning, and he found himself reaching toward him. It did not need to be much. He could even sneak a taste of blood, surely. Just a little.
The human shifted on the bed. Erik held his breath as he watched him roll onto his back, then relaxed in slumber once more. Erik exhaled. Distant admiration it was then.
A loud beep made him leap from the bed, heart pounding frantically in his chest. With a groan, the human sat up. “Damn it.” He patted the sheets in search before he reached into his pocket and pulled out his cell phone. He pressed a couple times on the bright screen and the beeping ceased, the room returning to silence.
He stretched, the bottom of his t-shirt riding up. Erik swallowed and stepped as far back as he could, but then the human turned his head toward him and froze.
Their eyes locked. Erik tried a smile. “Good morning.”
“What the fuck!” The human reacted on instinct, throwing the phone at the intruder. It flew and hit him before dropping to the floor with a thud, the screen cracking.
It was not an unexpected reaction. After all, even the vampiric influence, no matter how strongly used, could not prevent it.
Erik’s eyes went from the phone back up to the human’s face, staring into wild blue eyes that refused to look away.
“Get out!”
The shout made Erik blink and return to the present. “Ah. Right.” He did not move from his spot.
“I said get out!” the human snapped. “Or I’ll -”
“Call the cops?” Erik bent down and retrieved the phone. “With this?” No reply came so he took a step forward and placed it on the dresser. “Look,” he said, looking up to find those eyes so focused on him, “I am not going to hurt you. Alright?”
“Then get the fuck out!” the human exclaimed. He grabbed his pillow and hurled it at Erik. It struck and then also fell to the floor.
“Are you done?” Erik asked. “What more could you possibly have to throw?” He watched the other glance at the books on the dresser. “Now, let’s not get too crazy.”
“But you are still here.”
“I really am not going to hurt you.” He took another step closer. “If I was, you would have been dead hours ago.”
“Hours ago?!”
Erik shrugged. “The door was open, you were asleep. So I snuck in.”
The human pressed himself against the wall. “Why didn’t you kill me then? Why are you even still here? Surely you would have found what you needed by now!”
With another step that put him right by the bed, Erik told him, “I am in hiding.”
The beautiful eyes narrowed. “Hiding?”
“Yes.” Erik used the vampire influence to try and calm him. He watched as the human’s muscles began to relax, his breathing slowing. “Someone is trying to kill me. I ran here.”
“Will they kill me too if they find you here?”
“They might try.” Erik knelt in front of him. “But if you let me stay, I will protect you.”
“You can protect me from the people you ran from?” the human questioned with a quirked brow.
Erik frowned. “I was caught off-guard. She didn’t smell like the others.”
“What?”
“I only grew suspicious when I knew she was following me.”
“What are you even talking about?”
With a sigh, Erik said, “Oh, where do I begin?” He peered into the human’s eyes again. “My name is Erik Lehnsherr.”
Folding his arms, the human said, “At least you told me something.”
“Yes I did. Now your turn. What do I call the beautiful creature before me?”
“Beautiful creature?”
“Yes.”
“Me?”
“Yes.”
He lightly chuckled. “If you really think so, then you can replace my phone for me.”
“And I will,” Erik promised. “Now your name. Please.”
“It’s Charles,” he told him. “Charles Xavier.”
“Charles,” Erik repeated with a grin. “I like that. It is perfect for you.” He moved to sit next to him on the bed. “Charles Xavier, I have something else I must tell you now.”
“And what would that be, Erik Lehnsherr?”
“You are not speaking to a human.”
Charles lowered his arms and looked Erik over. “Excuse me?”
Erik grasped Charles’ hands in his, watching the other’s eyes widen upon feeling the chill of his flesh. “I am a vampire.” Charles tried to pull away but Erik kept him mostly in place. “I am not going to hurt you, Charles.”
“Let go of me, Erik,” Charles said, giving his arms a tug.
But Erik twisted him around and pulled him closer, his chest pressed against Charles’ back, his arms wrapped around the other man. “Relax, Charles. I won’t bite unless I need to.”
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Charles tried to break free but he couldn’t.
The vampire hummed. “I already promised not to hurt you, but if you keep fighting, I will have to break that promise.”
Charles shuddered and squeezed his eyes shut. “If you don’t want to hurt me, Erik, then please just let me go.”
“I can’t trust you not to do something stupid. It would cost you your life.”
“Erik, please. Let me go.”
“I could use my power more,” Erik mostly said to himself, “but then we would be approaching territory I am uncomfortable with.”
“Then don’t! Just let me go.”
“If I let you go, will you promise to not be stupid?”
“I -”
“There is a hunter out there, Charles. A novice, but she’s out there. You would be a witness, and they cannot have that. Do you know what that means?”
“Erik…”
“It means you would be dead, Charles!”
Erik released him and Charles fell forward. Hunters, vampires, what the hell… He spun around with a glare. “None of what you are saying makes any sense!” He swung a fist at Erik that landed on the man’s shoulder. He didn’t even try to avoid it. Charles got up from the bed. “Fuck.” He turned toward Erik. “So now I have a target on my head because of you? I’m going to die because of you?”
“Not if you aren’t stupid,” Erik told him.
“And what would you consider not stupid?”
Erik stood and stepped toward him. “Telling people you have someone that believes they are a vampire in your home.”
“So you admit you are not one.”
“I do not. But I’m sure you do not believe me yet, and that is what a nonbeliever would say.” He reached out and took a gentler hold of Charles’ hand. “Anyone can be a hunter, Charles, just as anyone can be a vampire. Look far enough into your own ancestry and you might find both if they left any evidence of their true natures.”
“I highly doubt that,” Charles muttered. “And your hand is freezing.”
“A sign of vampirism, my beautiful creature.” He held Charles’ hand to his cheek, the skin colder there. “We are not very warm.”
Charles stared at his face. “You almost look dead. So little color to your face.”
“Vampirism steals a lot from you,” Erik murmured.
As he pulled his hand away, Charles asked, “What else would be stupid?”
“Mentioning my name.” He thought about it for a second. “Actually, do not mention me to anyone, at all.”
“Did you give me your real name?”
With a small smile, Erik said, “I did. Foolishly. But you, Charles… You are special.”
Charles shook his head. “I’m really not.”
Erik cradled Charles’ head with his hand. “Special enough to catch my eye and keep my attention.”
“You said you need a place to hide.”
He moved closer, pulling Charles in as well. “And I need you.”
“You don’t need me,” Charles whispered, their lips close.
“Actually I think I do need you,” Erik told him, closing the distance with a kiss.
A kiss that was ended within seconds when Charles pushed him away.
With a pout, Erik pulled his hand away. “Fine. Not yet.”

Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5 | Chapter 6 | Chapter 7 | Chapter 8 | TBC
At first, Moira found the conclusions her partner and supervisors had made impossible to believe. That a man could somehow make her forget months of her life, by using superpowers. It sounded... well, it sounded ridiculous.
Then Levene showed her the tapes. They confirmed the few facts her supervisors did know about her missing months – that she had joined some kind of secret task force, that she had worked alongside people with incredible and unbelievable gifts. Levene described the meeting where Charles Xavier had read minds and Raven Darkhölme had transformed into Agent Stryker. Then he showed her security footage of the hallway outside the meeting room. Where Levene froze at the water fountain as Moira looked around, apparently talking to herself.
“Afterwards you told me that he contacted you,” Levene explained. “That somehow you communicated telepathically.”
The second tape showed the parking lot where Moira had driven to fetch the mutants and the Agent Stryker, the mystery agent her supervisors refused to talk about.
“I lost you after that. You told me you had to do something important and that, while you were gone, I should try and keep McCone off your back.” He continued, a touch of reprimand to his voice that he didn’t really mean. Levene was used to Moira running off on her own and leaving him to run crowd control. It worked well that way and Levene knew it. He was good with people, good at smoothing down riled up supervisors and reassuring concerned citizens. Moira was good at jumping into dangerous situations feet first and wangling her way out of them.
“And you didn’t see me until last week?”
“No, I did see you one other time. We went on a mission to Russia.”
“I went to Russia?” Moira blinked, stomach churning as the entire situation became even more unsettling. To forget a few conversations was one thing, but to forget weeks of her life and covert operations abroad was another. The sense of violation deepened as it finally sunk in that this had really happened to her.
Levene explained that the task force had picked up a new recruit by this point, someone called Erik Lehnsherr who could apparently control metallic substances. “I didn’t really see his powers in action though. Xavier managed to make our team invisible somehow. He said it was an illusion he made them believe so we could get through the check points.”
“And I didn’t tell you what had happened when we met up?”
“You gave me a rundown, but nothing more than I’ve already been able to tell you. That you got involved in recruiting mutants and hunting down a guy who was trying to kill humans. Then you disappeared again and I didn’t hear anything more about the task force until the Cuba incident.”
Moira hummed, pressing her cold fingers to her lips. “McCone debriefed me about that. As much as he could anyway.” He’d disapprovingly told her how she had stood on a beach, in the middle of two warring nations, defending the mutants only to be nearly killed by one for her troubles. When they’d had that conversation she still had the marks around her neck from where Lehnsherr tried to strangle her.
The agency continued to ask her questions about what happened on that beach, regardless of the well-known fact that she couldn’t remember any of it. It seemed inconceivable to anyone, Moira included, that this could actually happen.
“Well, you have all the information that I do on that. I didn’t see you again until you called me over to your apartment a few days later.”
Moira kept pressing Levene for more details over the coming weeks and months, but he could never find anything new to tell her. She kept trying though, telling him it was so she could try to understand more about her thoughts and actions during those missing months, to piece together the case so they could work out if the threat still existed. What she was really waiting for was something, anything, that would trigger a memory and help her remember. Some insignificant phrase or word which would bring everything back. Something more than flashes of light and that godforsaken kiss.
The kiss disturbed her more than she cared to admit. And not just because her bosses had immediately jumped on one of her few remaining impressions of those missing months as a way to further undermine her. Her memories from the Hellfire Club were still there. She knew that mutants existed and she knew that Xavier was apparently the foremost expert on them. That was why, according to her application for travel, she had flown to Oxford to meet with him.
The extent of his powers, demonstrated to her through the tapes and Levene’s descriptions, painted a portrait of a very powerful being. One who had no problem altering people’s perceptions, communicating telepathically, wiping months of memories away – and he certainly had no reservations about using that ability. She remembered the emotion behind the kiss and knew how deeply she had cared for him. How badly had her judgement been impaired that she had fallen for someone who apparently had no qualms about invading her mind, the one part of her that should be hers alone? Had her feelings even been genuine? Did she have free will during that time?
When she was alone she questioned everything. Her motives, the people she had sided with, her instincts, her thoughts.
At work she needed to keep her head high and walk the corridors confidently, otherwise she risked having her job pulled out from beneath her. Her superiors eventually accepted that she remembered very little of what had happened. The tests showed there was no brain damage and, coupled with their knowledge of Charles Xavier’s abilities, the conclusion was drawn that she would never remember. With that acceptance, however, Moira found that all of her hard work establishing a position for herself at the CIA appeared to have been undone. Even though she hadn’t exactly gotten people to like her before the incident, there had been a level of begrudging respect. She’d proven herself multiple times to be capable of more than secretarial work. But now wherever she went there were whispers. About the hormonal woman who had fallen in love with a mutant.
She was shunned by most of her colleagues, but then that wasn’t really new. Now, instead of listening to the run of the mill sexist jabs, she got a little variety by having her every decision questioned because her mind didn’t work properly. Because she was damaged. Levene stood by her like he had done since they’d first been partnered up, and he always jumped up to defend her.
Levene, who was now in the unique position of being one of the few people to meet Charles Xavier, still remember it and was alive to tell the tale.
With time Moira knew she could restore her credibility among the ranks, as long as she didn’t show any more weakness. And Levene’s long-winded speeches about her patriotism and bravery, which arose every time Moira got a snide comment by another agent, couldn’t hurt. Except, a month later they would still just laugh and say she was protecting freaks.
Time passed. Her paranoia settled but the CIA’s didn’t.
“I’ve decided to pull you and Levene off the case,” McCone said, slapping the file she had just delivered back onto the desk after a polite glance. They’d been investigating a man with potential communist affiliations for the past three weeks.
“But sir,” Moira started,” we’ve nearly closed it.”
“I think you would be better suited to a different assignment.”
“Sir…”
“Especially after what you went through. To be frank MacTaggert, we’ve been discussing it and we think it would be in your best interest to take a leave of absence.”
She tried to speak but he cut her off. “Just take a few months.”
He tried to interrupt her again when she opened her mouth but she spoke loudly over his attempts. “I’m perfectly capable of doing my job.”
“It’s nothing to be ashamed of Moira.” He said, using the same tone he reserved for the secretaries.
“I never said I was ashamed.”
“Of course not. But…” He paused and took a minute, leaning back in his chair and forming a temple with his fingers. “Given what you went through, we thought it would be appropriate for you to have some time off. To help you deal with your feelings.”
“I have no feelings about what happened, sir. I don’t remember it.”
“You never know. Some R&R might help you with your memory loss.” McCone said, trying to pretend that he was doing this for her benefit.
She took a deep breath. “Sir, don’t drop us off this case.”
“I’m sorry Moira, but I really think it’s for the best.”
She was costing Levene his career with this bullshit. Every time they got anything close to a half-decent case it would be snatched away from them before they could close it. And they always used the excuse that it was because she wasn’t in her right mind.
Levene never complained, he would grouch about McCone and the rest of the CIA for how they treated her. He wouldn’t complain about her or request a new partner. He liked working with Moira and Moira liked working with him. She liked being his friend and having dinner with him and his wife on the weekends. She liked having someone around that she could actually trust. Someone who didn’t think she was weak. But she couldn’t keep working like this. And she couldn’t allow Levene to be punished for his loyalty to her.
“I didn’t want to have to do this,” Moira said, shaking her head. “I’d hoped if I stuck it out things would improve, but I see now they never will. I am an excellent agent. And one day when you realise what an ass you are, you’re really going to regret this.”
McCone’s genial expression abruptly fell away with her words and the scowl she was more comfortable with reappeared. “Now look here MacTaggert...”
“You have left me no other choice. You can leave Levene on the case. I quit.”
Pulling her jacket back she removed her gun from its holster and pulled her badge from her belt. She set them both on his desk.
“Moira,” he said with a smile as she stood. “You don’t have to quit. I told you we’ll give you leave. Paid leave. And you can come back as soon as you feel ready. We’d have to ease you back in of course, maybe put you on desk duty for a little while…”
She shook her head. When she had been made an agent she had hoped things would finally get easier, that she wouldn’t have to work twice as hard as everyone else to get half as much respect. And yet, no matter how much she sacrificed, she knew now that she would never rise any higher in their esteems. It seemed futile to keep trying.
Not confident that she would be able to refrain from calling McCone worse than an ass if she continued to speak, Moira turned swiftly on her heel and walked out. McCone half-heartedly called after her, but she had no doubt her resignation would be met by more celebrations than regrets.
Making her way into the break room she collected her bag and purse, stopped by HR and then made her way straight to the parking garage. There was nothing important at her desk and she wouldn’t give the other guys the satisfaction of seeing her pack up her stuff.
Moira was going to be better than they ever would. She just didn’t know how yet.
She’d talk to Levene later, he’d gone home already but she wanted to call him before McCone did. He deserved to hear about her decision instead of getting a blunt notice from the agency saying he’d have a new partner by next Monday.
As she shoved her key into the lock of her car she found herself pausing for a moment, her anger ebbing away. Taking a deep breath, Moira tried not to panic as her unemployment suddenly dawned on her. She was more than qualified for plenty of jobs, and maybe this time she could find one without so much bullshit.
Yanking open the door she threw her bag onto the backseat. A voice stopped her before she could get in.
“Moira MacTaggert.”
Turning she spied a tall man, cloaked in the shadow of the stone pillar he leant against. Her eyes quickly spied four men evenly spread out around him, hands behind their backs in the picture of obedience.
“Yes?” She said hesitantly, wishing she hadn’t thrown her purse into the car so hastily. Her back-up weapon was in there.
Stepping forward so she could see him clearly, the man shot her a tight-lipped smile. “I’m sorry if I startled you. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nick Fury.”
He paused, casually placing his hands in his pockets. “Tell me. What do you know about S.H.I.E.L.D?”

Shaw’s Captive – swoopswoop
Summary: Magneto killed Shaw, it had to be done for the sake of mutant-kind but what he wasn't expecting to find hidden deep with Shaw's complex was a man held captive, obviously tortured, that somehow made Magneto turn into Erik.
Erik now has a potential human in his citadel as he continues the war with the human's.
Mind’s Eye Blind – Sperare
Summary: As far as Erik is concerned, if you want to scare a person into talking, you have to present him with something more compelling than what he stands to lose...
And there is nothing in the world more compelling than Charles.
Chipped – Rosawyn
Summary: Magneto's fledgling Brotherhood find Charles Xavier in a mutations research lab as an apparently willing subject for an experimental suppression device.
Okay, I Feel Better Now – Harleydoll
Summary: The AU in which Erik is sent to a mental health facility after being convicted for Shaw's murder and pleads insanity, and Charles is his paranoid schizophrenic of a roommate. Powers, Hellfire conspiracies, protective!Erik, and of course the inevitable angst.
Five Nights in Nuremberg – FuryRed
Summary: When Charles escapes from the mutant prison he has been held in for the last two years he knows that he’s going to need help to avoid being recaptured.
What he doesn’t expect is that help will come in the form of a mysterious German man who rescues Charles and takes him to his home; a handsome stranger who, frustratingly, doesn’t speak a single word of English…
Five Bullet Points – Sperare
Summary: It was supposed to be Erik locked away in a prison one hundred stories below the ground.
Charles was never supposed to be there with him.
Notes: Unfinished but an excellent read. Highly recommend it.
Stolen – ishipitsobad
Summary: Erik is a miserable, grumpy, cantankerous bastard, and he has every fucking right to be. He drew the short end of the stick when he got the Underworld as his domain, and there isn't very much fun to be had in judging and governing dead souls who would rather be anywhere else but with Erik in the depths of Hell.
So when he meets Charles, brilliant and lovely Charles who is more popularly known amongst the mortals as Persephone, and feels the promise of something wonderful that could make his eternally doomed existence infinitely more bearable... you can bet all your drachmas Erik's not going to let Charles go any fucking time soon.
My Barbaric Darling – baehj2915
Summary: Erik is revivified caveman. Charles is the anthropologist(?) taking care of him. This is as ridiculous as it sounds. Romcom misunderstandings and prehistoric wooing ensues.
Swimming with Sharks – Not_You
Summary: Erik used to be a shark. Now he's not, and has to figure out how to be a good human father to his twins. Charles is willing to help.
Eucalyptus leaf of my soul - kageillusionz, ourgirlfriday
Summary: Zookeeper Raven at Taronga Zoo keeps having ideas on how to capitalize on interest in the zoo mascots, Koala Charles and Drop Bear Erik (the only drop bear in captivity!), who have captured the hearts and minds of the public. First it was to introduce prospective mates (It’ll generate attention, Hank. People are perverts. They’d love to see koala porn.). This idea was not effective the first through fifth attempts, as Erik and Charles seemed to show at best polite interest in the newcomer before resuming whatever marsupial debate they had going. However, the resulting lesbian koala orgies did indeed generate interest. Then Raven unveiled the Hug-A-Koala program, which was successful, as the public showed great interest in hugging Charles, and Charles seemed to enjoy being hugged.
Then Raven unveiled the Hug-A-Drop Bear program, and Hank, not for the first time, wished he had a flask handy.
Notes: Yes, they’re Koalas, yes they’re adorable, and yes, Erik is super protective even as a Drop Bear.
