Edward and Nancy need a movie or show about them in Andalasia and it HAS to be 2D Animated!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I would love to learn more about Andalasian lore and more about Edward’s time growing up, seeing how him and Nancy fell in love, seeing them ruling the kingdom as King and Queen and what adventures they could have. To see Nancy’s reaction to being animated when she went to Andalasia, Edward struggling to be a good ruler now that he’s king, what happened to Edward’s parents, the possible problems that happened in the kingdom during Narissa’s reign.

While the story is adapted from the movie, Enchanted, with some characters and places that were mentioned in the movie added into this story, I will be adding changes in the story settings, characters’ names and background stories to fit the plot. That being said, as someone who has never set foot in the land of America, forgive me if there are some inaccuracies in the details that are being added here. I hope that doesn’t change your reading experience with the story.

Cregan Stark x OC! READER
In which Cregan Stark, in an effort to create an allegiance with Andalasia, marries their queen.
The land of Andalasia was full of Magick. It's population consisted of the world's most powerful beings; witches, werewolves, faeries and all. It was a Matriarchal society, a stark opposite of Westeros.
The queen of Andalasia, Cassandra, ruled fairly and had led a reign of peace. Cassandra was the daughter of Queen Althea, the former queen and a powerful faery, and Oros, the God of War. Cassandra was the eldest of 8, and as eldest daughter, she knew it was her duty to rule. All of Althea's children had developed magickal powers and talents as they grew. Cassandra, however, was special.
Cassandra- being the only daughter of Althea that was also a demi God, was a child of prophecy.
"Bring together young and old,
In this message, you are told,
A child of fae,
A child of the gods,
Shall appear as one...
She will rule tall and proud,
Listen to her wise words,
Listen to the song of birds,
She will unite us all."
When Cassandra reached her 18th sun cycle, she was coronated. Shortly after, she was advised by her counsel to marry. After weeks of debate, it was decided that Cregan Stark, the Warden of the North in Westeros, would be a diplomatic choice. Trade between Andalsia and Westeros was weak, and it was in Cassandra's best interest to make the political tie. However, she never expected to find a love match.
On the other side of the sea, Cregan Stark felt political and familial pressure to marry. His sister, Sarah, encouraged him to find a Lady of his own. His 6 year old brother, Rickon, teased him about his bachelor hood. The day it was suggested he marry Queen Cassandra Ostyn of Andalasia, his heart quickened. She made the most sense, as a political allyship would bring a new era to their world. Cregan happily agreed, satisfied and yearning to meet his future wife.
It was agreed that Cregan and his court would travel to Andalasia to begin the courtship. The Starks of Westeros were set to arrive in Andalasia's ports on the eve of Beltain. Beltain, an early summer celebration of love and fertility, seemed to be the perfect setting.
The morning of Cregan's arrival, Cassandra decided to wear her best day gown. The forest green fabric puffed at her shoulders and slimmed at her waist. It had a ballgown silhouette, and a mesh floral cape. Cassandra hoped to atleast create a physical attraction between herself and Cregan, ensuring that they would have a decently successful marriage. Cass knew that it was rare for love to blossom in a politically arranged marriage, but she refused to give up. Her mother had taken many lovers in her life, and Cass and her siblings shared different fathers. This wasn't taboo in Andalasia, as it was common for High Bornes to have relations with anyone they please. Majority of Andalasia's rulers were bastards, and Cassandra was no exception. Her father left shortly after he 'fulfilled his duty' and Cass was left with Althea. Oros would often send trinkets and gifts to his daughter, helping her climb the steps of success. Today was no different, one of Oros' wolves appeared to her, dropping a gold locket into her palm before trotting away. Cassandra fastened it around her neck before going to greet the Starks.
Cass stood at the end of the docks, surrounded by her closest confidates. Her brother, Taryn, stood to her left, and her best friend Reg stood to her right. Her guard and unspoken father figure, Geralt, stood behind her faithfully. Other advisors stood in a small group farther away out of respect. A large mast was approaching less than 100 yards away, with a direwolf embossed into the sails. Cassandra recognized the symbol immediately and began to smooth her skirts. Her tiara sat proudly atop her head as she awaited the boat to dock.
The crew exited first, quickly fastening the sails and docking. The captain offered a polite greeting to the young royal before her attention was taken by a young man exiting the ship. He had dark curls and a half shaved head. A warriors braid trailed along his skull and he wore dark furs. Cassandra immediately knew who it was. Cregan Stark.
This is a prequel to a fic I'm considering. Would anyone be interested? I'll post the next part if anyone is<3

Rumplestiltskin Family Tree + Enchanted/Snow White stuff
So, this background stuff is pretty darn dark, like, lots of implied pretty bad stuff, though it doesn't go into detail, but hey it's the kinda Big Bad Background Villain family of my DisneyVerse so that's to be expected.
So the being this dark family starts out with is Chernabog, lord of all darkness and evil within the DisneyVerse. In the pre-historic times of the EverRealm he takes as his first mortal disciple the human woman Var, who eventually becomes the demon sorceress Vor of Sofia the First infamy.
They have a demon son called Voland, who takes to wandering the world in the guise of a soldier, oft accompanied by three massive hell-hounds, causing terror and strife wherever he goes. And at one point in his wanderings he decides it's time he take a wife. With his familiars help, he nightly steals away the Princess Achlys, heir to a great empire of the EverRealm. When this affront is discovered, Voland is captured by the Emperor's forces, but they prove no match for his powers nor hell-hound familiars. And in one day, the Empire is laid to utter ruin..
Tumblr media
Achlys later gives birth to her own son, Rumplestiltskin, but by this time she has learned enough magic of her own in secret to manage to escape her binding to Voland, and in her last act of vengance before fleeing she curses the child to never be able to hid his demonic heritage behind a charming face as Voland once had, and so Rumplestiltskin is forced to bear his green and scaly visage for all time.
(Achlys goes on to become the Dark Enchantress who causes trouble later for Belle and Adam)
Despite his unseemly looks Rumplestiltskin tries over the years to gain a wife of his own (often to the refusing lady's detriment, such as the case of the poor Princess Toute-Belle and her lover the King of the Gold Mines) Eventually he decides to take a page out of his father's book and just steal one away, and so the unfortunate Camilla finds herself trapped in Rumplestiltskin's subterranean lair.
Tumblr media
She too eventually gives birth to a son, (which Rumplestiltskin names Baelfire, a suitable name for the demon prince he's meant to become ) But Camilla too manages to escape her captor.
But unlike her predecessor she takes her son with her as she flees, boarding a ship meant to take them far from Rumplestiltskin's power. For a time she is able to enjoy her freedom and even finds love with the ships captain (who isn't Hook he's not even born yet in the DisneyVerse timeline), but Rumplestiltskin eventually tracks her down and has his revenge.
Her child, however, is smuggled away in time and grows up in the forests of Andalasia, under the name Niall and with no knowledge of his dark heritage. Eventually, he meets the young Princess Amelia, daughter of Snow White and Florian. They fall in love and eventually marry and have a child, a young son named Heinrich.
Tumblr media
The family is happy together for a time, until Amelia's older brother Argent decides to remarry after the sudden death of his wife Queen Rosamund, choosing as his new wife his court sorceress, the Lady Narissa.
Amelia and Niall soon discover that Narissa had been behind the death of Queen Rosamund, and try to reveal her dark nature but she struck back at them before they could.
Queen Snow-White and King Florian were told that their daughter's family had all died in an attack from a vicious dragon, but in reality only Niall had perished. Young Heinrich had managed to escape into the magical wishing well that formed a portal to Our World.
There, he was eventually found by his great aunt Eva, who had gone to explore Our World years back. He told her what had happened in Andalasia and how Narissa had taken the throne. They attempt to go back but find that Narissa has sealed the portal against them by then.
Amelia meanwhile had been tranformed into a swan, as part of a protective spell that had been placed upon her by her aunt, meant to give her the means to escape her enemies and keep under cover. But the clash of magic between the protection spell, Narissa's magic and the enchanted well causes her to be trapped in Swan form and bound to the water of the castle.
For years she watches over her nephew Edward, trying her best to find a way to contact anyone who might be able to help her break the spell and overthrow Narissa. Thankfully Narissa had to unlock the portal to push Edward's former fiance Giselle into it, and had not been able to relock it (it was a time consuming spell) before she was defeated forever. This allowed Eva and Heinrich to finally return to Andalasia (after living for several years in a town Eva had founded, which she left in the hands of a woman named Malvina Monroe when they left) and break the spell that had trapped Amelia for so many years.
The family that had survived was at last reunited. Snow White and Florian, Eva and Amelia, Heinrich and Edward, as well as Edward's new wife Nancy.
They mourned their lost years and lost loved ones, but at last were able to find a happily ever after for the years they had left together.

Journey Across the Disneyverse: Final Day
In honor of the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Animation Studios, I'm rewatching some of my favorite films from the studio.
Today, I'm cheating. These aren't WDAS, but use so many tropes and cliches from classics of the studio, that they are a perfect way to celebrate the anniversary of the studio and of the whole company.
Tumblr media
1 - Enchanted (2007)
Tumblr media
I love, love this film.
I love how the animated sequences emulate perfectly the Disney movies from the 30's/40's, and 50's. I could watch a entire movie sorely in this style.
Andalasia is the perfect Disney kingdom. It's so charming, vibrant and colorful. I would give everything to jump right there and marry a prince. Let's say, I always envied Idina Menzel's character in this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Giselle is the perfect protagonist and perfect Disney princess. She combines the best characteristics of princesses of every age. She is optimistic, cheerful, kind, spunky, curious. I love how even when she sees the worst parts of the real world, she is still amazed and full of wonderlust.
The shot of Queen Narissa as a dragon, on top of the skyscraper during the stormy night, stayed with me for years. It's the coolest shot of any fairy tale movie.
Tumblr media
2 - Disenchanted (2022)
Tumblr media
Not as great as the first one, and feels more like a made for tv movie, but it's still a great sequel and very enjoyable movie.
I love how in the first movie, it was the fairy tale characters going into the real world, but this one is all about the real world slowly transforming into a fairy tale world.
The setting of Monrolasia is so perfectly Disney that you get sad when the wish is undone and the world goes back to normal.
The sequence of the kitchen appliances dancing and singing is exactly how I imagine the world of Disney cartoons would look like in the present day.
Amy Addams playing a villainous Giselle is the best part, and already enough justification for this movie to be made. Maya Rudolph as Malvina Monroe also steals the show. If you're still in doubt if this movie is this worthy watching, their interaction during Badder is absolutely that you need.

Once upon a time, in a magical kingdom known as Andalasia, there lived an evil queen. Selfish and cruel, she lived in fear that one day her stepson would marry, and she would lose her throne forever. And so, she did all in her power to prevent the prince from ever meeting the one special maiden with whom he would share true love's kiss. — Enchanted (2007)

i GOTTA ask now of course. since you put me through hell. what are robert & giselle’s lives like, if they never met!!!!
literally so hard to think about because it means Giselle marries Edward and Robert marries Nancy and that makes me wanna throw up...
my notps, as the world once said
but anyway !!!
for Giselle, we have to tweak a few things and assume Narissa is not in "kill her immediately" mode. however, she's still Evil, so maybe she's fine with Edward getting married in the end because he's so easy to manipulate, meaning she can still be in power. and Giselle, she can easily manipulate her, too, so she's not too worried in the end.
I think she and Edward would stay married, despite not liking each other much in the end, because divorce isn't a thing in Andalasia, and they think they're each other's true love. but for Giselle, he kind of drives her a little nuts. I made a joke last night on twitter that she's not attracted to idiots, and like, she's not !!!! she's into brains, not brawn !! and Edward isn't a complete moron, really, but he's also not the sharpest, which I think drives her crazy sometimes. I think his arrogance isn't something she cares for either, and it borders on very, very unattractive to her. and like, they're both BIG talkers, which drives the other crazy, because sometimes neither of them can ever get a word in.
I also don't think she would particularly like being a queen (or a princess, whatever the situation might be) because she doesn't have the freedom she once had. she can't just run around barefoot whenever she wants, or run into the woods to climb trees. she's ~royal~ now, and has ~responsibilities~. and in one deleted scene, she talks about how she's happy to do her royal duties, and I think that is true, but she also misses her freedom, yk? and like, yeah, in our world she has responsibilities too, but she has the freedom to choose. as Queen of Andalasia, she wouldn't really?? not if Narissa is still around pulling strings, and manipulating her, anyway.
but I don't think things are always terrible. I think she and Edward are, at least on some level, good friends, they just don't realize they're not working romantically at all. but again, divorce doesn't exist, so what can they do? jump down a portal to another world? don't be silly!
they'd probably end up having a kid, a little boy named Florian (which is Robert's middle name, and I think if they had a son, she would've wanted that to be his middle name. so, her connection to Robert is still strong 🤭) but they wouldn't have anymore after him. Edward's a good father, and Giselle enjoys being a mother, so things aren't terrible. there's love there, though it's not what either of them ever truly imagined, and they try to make the best of it. I do think, though, that Giselle still dreams about her ~mystery man~ and wakes up thinking, "he's still so blurry, but I can tell that's not Edward... I suppose dreams are really just dreams after all..."
now with Robert and Nancy, they'd live such boring lives, I feel.
they end up getting married, and, much like Edward and Giselle, they're good friends, so it's not bad, but there's just... no romantic spark. Robert never grows into a super affectionate person, and he never really strives to be romantic, and Nancy just kind of. accepts it. I mean, based off her deleted scene, she already accepted that she wouldn't find her ~dream prince charming~ years ago, but now, she's just. really accepted it.
unlike Edward and Giselle, who do kind of want a divorce, but are kind of stuck together, I don't think Robert and Nancy would split up. I think they're comfortable, and relatively happy, despite leading boring, monotonous lives, and they'd just stay together. I don't think Morgan would ever call Nancy "mom", nor would she consider her her mother, but she does grow to somewhat enjoy her company. But I also think Morgan is secretly very into romance, and wants a Big Love Story for herself, and when she watches Robert and Nancy, she can just tell they're not ~in love~. Like, she knows they get along and like each other, but there's no genuine love in their home, and I think she'd grow up thinking, "I never want to settle the way my dad and Nancy did."
if you were to ask Robert or Nancy, "do you love them?" they'd say, "of course I do, they're my partner" and then they'd get hit with, "but do you love them?" and it would be like, hmmmmmm...
and it's safe to say Robert and Nancy never move the family to Monroeville, and they definitely wouldn't ever have another kid, so Morgan is the only daughter he ever has.
it's so hard picturing their lives this way because it means both Robert and Giselle never really grow outside of who they are at the beginning of the movie. I mean, Giselle kind of grows in an entirely different way, learning love and marriage isn't exactly what she thought it would be, which I suppose would lead her to feeling depressed for the first time, rather than angry. and Robert, he just stays closed off, and quiet for the rest of his life 💔
and Nancy & Edward never really develop that much as characters in canon, but still, they'd never find their real true loves. she'd never get to be queen, and Edward would never get to simply be the Fun Uncle. very tragic for everyone.
there's this quote from the movie 13 Going on 30 that I love, it's "You don't always get the dream house, but you get awfully close." and I think that would apply to these four. like it's not what they wanted, but it's close enough, they think.
and I like to think, even if it's years, and years later, they'd all eventually find each other. that's just the soulmatism of it all, babey 😌
also, I wrote another au awhile back that like, ugh, it was going to be two chapters, and I really would love to finish it some day. basically it was about Giselle and Edward returning to Andalasia after the ball, so in this version, Narissa never stops them, and Edward can tell she's very distraught and in love with Robert. He tells her she can go back, and she says, "I can't. He's with Nancy. I can't interfere with their lives anymore than I already have." and she goes back to her cottage. but she and Edward stay friends, and a year floats by, and he's finally like, "girl, you are SO fuckin sad... just a miserable sack of miserable !!! we're going back to New York NOW"
so they go back, and Giselle's like, "fine okay fine I'm just saying hi and then I'm leaving !!!" because seeing him and Nancy married is a nightmare for her. but then she goes upstairs and oh... oh he's not married ??? and I'm not married ?????? interesting.................... 🧐
anyway, I would really love to finish it some day because I looooove the first chapter I wrote, but I never finished the second one. but !! some day !!!!!!!!!!!!

Thoughts on Queen Narissa & Nathaniel
Tumblr media
Narissa and Nathaniel appear like the comedic villain-duo like Kronk and Yzma (the beautiful evil mastermind and the stupid, ugly sidekick).
But there is SO MUCH MORE to them!
Obviously Nathaniel is truly, madly, deeply in love with Narissa. That's actually quite sad when you think about how cold-hearted she is and how badly she treats him. She abuses his will to do literally everything for her to make him do things he doesn't want to because Nathaniel isn't all that cold-hearted. And yet he hasn't got a choice to stand up against her since he knows she has power over him not only because he depends on her.
Given that they are both from our world Nathaniel might also stick around Narissa because he probably hopes to still be able to safe her. He might knew (and loved) her before she became evil, making it even harder for him to stand against her. He was forced to watch Narissa turning bad and couldn't do anything.
Narissa might got cursed when she married the former king of Andalasia with the same curse Giselle gets cursed when wishing for a fairytale life in "Disenchanted". When Giselle wishes for a fairytale life, she is Morgan's stepmother and Narissa had become Edward's stepmother by marrying the king.
Tumblr media
Narissa sends Endward troll-hunting every morning to distract him from finding a girl and marrying in order to remain in power. Like the book in the picture says: "She lived in fear that one day her stepson would marry and she would lose her throne forever." That might sound selfish of her but given that she is from the real world where she once gave her whole life up, leaving family and friends behind who probably assume that she's dead makes it less selfish. Even if she left no friends and family behind, she still has been gone for a very long time in which New York changed a lot. One way or another, she has no home to return to. The throne is all she got. She is not from Andalasia. So if she loses the throne she'll probably be kicked out of Andalasia because there is no need for her anymore. So of course the idea of probably ending up in a New York where everything has changed with nothing except her clothes and nowhere to return to frightens her so she does everything to remain in the throne.
Nathaniel has zero self-confidence since he considers himself ugly. He knows he is not as handsome as Prince Edward making him the ugly guy in Andalasia. And he hates himself for that. In the motel he realizes he needs to love himself if he wants Narissa to love him, because how should she be able to love him if he even can't love himself? The thing is he thinks there is nothing to love about him so he assumes Narissa will never love him what ends him up in a bar. You can see he has been crying when on top of all this Narissa appears in his drink and scolds him for being unsuccessful in his attempts to kill Giselle.
Tumblr media
She also calls him "worthless" when she finds him in New York.
Tumblr media
When Robert wakes up Giselle with a true love's kiss, Nathaniel realizes everything is lost for Narissa and that it's too late for her. He might sees that no one can save her and turns down on her. He then finds the courage to stand up against her and threat her with the sword. This must be hard for him since he is letting Narissa go, knowing she is not the woman anymore that she used to be. Narissas death is tragic yet a mercy since her life wouldn't have been worth living after all that has happened at the ball.
Nathaniel, however, moves on and becomes a bestselling-author by writing a book about Narissa ("My Royal Pain: Vanquishing the Evil Queen Within").

ok but have u ever watched enchanted 2007? If u have I got an idea: atsv enchanted au but with jeff/rio
If u haven’t, here’s the basic plot: Giselle (the main character) is your typical disney princess living in the forest in a kingdom called Andalasia, and she meets Prince Edward, your typical romantic and charming disney prince. They get that love at first sight moment, but then Queen Narissa, an evil queen and mother of Edward, hears about this, and tricks Giselle to fall down a well that leads to our world in New York to stop her from taking the throne. Then Giselle is wandering around the city hopeless and confused until she meets Robert and his daughter, and the story continues with Giselle learning about life in reality and slowly falling in love with Robert.
so yeah that but Rio is Giselle, Jeff is Robert, Gabriel is Edward, and Conchata is Narissa. Also imagine this scene from the movie but with this placement (the old lady is Narissa in disguise hehe)

"Enchanted" Nancy Tremaine x Prince Edward
Nancy Tremaine was a hopeless romantic.
It had all started when she was growing up. As a child, she was acquainted with fairy tales of princes and princesses, magical creatures, and the romances or adventures of storybook heroes. Nancy liked the idea of marrying a prince and living happily ever after, just like those princesses.
But as she got older, that idea became less of a possibility, and more of a fantasy. The boys, and later men, that she dated, weren't princes - not even knights. And Nancy herself felt like she wasn't suited for the role of a fairy tale heroine anymore.
Fairy tale heroines didn't struggle through high school, and then college classes, to earn a degree in fashion design. They didn't have to work themselves to the bone getting their business off the ground, and then making sure that business stayed afloat.
Nancy wasn't that little girl who wanted to be a princess anymore. She had become a self-sufficient woman, the manager of her own design studio. She would be fine on her own, which was why she didn't need a prince - just someone who respected her.
Perhaps that's what drew her to Robert.
He was kind towards Nancy, but theirs was not a whirlwind romance. Disappointing as this might have been to a younger her, Nancy was satisfied with Robert. They both knew exactly what to expect from the other.
Which was why it was all the more shocking, after she arrived at Robert's apartment one morning, to find an unknown woman sprawled on top of him.
Nancy had left angrily, taking the cab to her studio. Robert sent dozens of apology texts afterwards. Part of her understood that Robert wasn't that kind of guy, but the other part didn't want to listen.
When a pair of doves, bearing heart shaped roses, and a ticket to the King and Queen's Ball, surprised Nancy, she was even more astounded to discover they were from Robert. The rest of Nancy's anger faded away, replaced by anticipation for the upcoming ball.
She and Robert danced, and generally had a good time. Nancy thought it'd be the end of the matter, until the redheaded woman, Giselle, showed up with her date Edward. And even though they had just met…
Nancy knew that he was like everything she imagined a fairy tale prince to be.
He graciously asked for her hand, and invited her to waltz with him. Nancy enjoyed dancing with Edward, but she couldn't help observing Robert and Giselle. Nancy politely excused herself, then proceeded to switch dance partners. She could tell though, Robert's mind was elsewhere.
The rest of the night's events happened in a flash: the arrival of Edward's step-mother, Giselle's poisoning, and finally, the defeat of the evil queen.
Not only did she have to accept that magic was actually real, but that Robert was happier with another woman. And they were perfect for each other! It was true love's kiss! How could Nancy argue against that? Giselle was even willing to fight a dragon to save Robert!
Yes, the best thing Nancy could do was wish for their happiness. But where did that leave her? On the floor of the ballroom, holding onto Giselle's forgotten shoe.
"Why so sad, beautiful lady?"
Edward kneeled and tilted his head slightly, his expression perplexed.
"She forgot her shoe… figures."
Nancy smiled ruefully at Edward. For a moment, he looked at the shoe in her hands, and then gently took it into his grasp. Edward gazed at Nancy, as he asked her,
"May I?"
She nodded, confused, but gave Edward her permission. To Nancy's amazement,
"It's a perfect fit."
Edward took her hands in his, and helped her to a standing position. Nancy looked at Edward, who was gazing at her with wonder, and she knew that she must be doing the same.
✦✦✦
One wedding later, Nancy Tremaine had officially become the new Queen of Andalasia.
Nancy could hardly believe that everything that had happened wasn't a dream. But when she woke up the next morning and pinched herself, she was still in bed with the most charming man she'd ever met.
She smiled, as she looked at the soundly sleeping Edward.
After the marriage and the after-party celebration, they had retired to the royal chambers. Contrary to her enthusiasm when following Edward to Andalasia, Nancy now felt calmer as the excitement wore off.
Of course she still felt delighted about being in a fairy tale, but Nancy had things to do before enjoying her happily ever after.
For one, she needed to sort out her affairs: the design studio, her apartment, the paperwork and legal procedures…
Nancy groaned, as she imagined all of the work that had to be done, just to make sure she wouldn't end up on New York's Missing Persons List.
Evidently, her groaning was loud enough to wake up Edward, as she could feel him stirring beside her. Edward yawned, rubbed his eyes, and then propped himself up to gaze at Nancy.
"Good morning, my beautiful queen!"
"Good morning to you as well, my handsome king."
Nancy smiled, but then her happiness faded after remembering that, yes, she was the queen now - which meant more work that needed to be done! Edward noticed Nancy's distress, and gently questioned her.
"My love, what's wrong?"
"Well, I… I was just thinking of my home, Edward."
"Your home? The kingdom of castles in the sky?"
Nancy looked puzzled for a moment at what Edward could be alluding to. Then, she felt a light bulb go off in her head.
"Oh, you mean the buildings! Yes, I was thinking about New York City."
"What an odd place it was! So many steel beasts! And yet, no one seemed happy when I freed them from the clutches of those nefarious creatures!"
"Okay, if I'm understanding you correctly, which I'm pretty sure I am, you're talking about cars? Or buses? And how exactly did you free them, Edward?"
"Why, stabbing the beast with my sword!"
Nancy sat up in shock, her eyes wide, after she heard Edward's response.
"Oh my God, Edward! You can't do that! Someone could have gotten hurt!"
"But Nancy, they were unharmed!"
"For goodness sake, Edward, of course they were! Those weren't beasts! They were armored carriages used to transport people!"
Nancy sighed, trying to relax herself. She closed her eyes and opened them again, glancing at Edward, who had a kicked puppy look on his face. Nancy couldn't stand to see him unhappy, so she decided to forgive him. But she would make sure that Edward was well informed the next time he visited Earth.
"Well, it's hardly your fault that you don't know what cars are. But promise me you'll never attack someone with a sword again, okay?"
"I promise, my love!"
Nancy giggled at how quickly Edward bounced back. She wondered how to explain to Edward what was on her mind.
"Anyway, I was just thinking about what I needed to do back home. If I don't deal with them, I can't stay with you in Andalasia…"
Last night, Nancy and Edward had talked with each other until they both fell asleep. Edward had apologized to Nancy that they could not go on a "date" before marrying each other. So they proceeded to talk about their likes and dislikes, their interests, and other topics that came up in their conversation. Nancy was happy that Edward was so different from Robert.
Robert was a good man, but it was hard for him to open up to her. Nancy now understood that Robert was coming off of a bad marriage, and a partner who had left him alone to care for their daughter. As for her, she was a busy career woman, who was also dealing with the unexpected loss of her single mother.
At that time, Nancy and Robert functioned as the stable presence that the other needed in their lives. But it wasn't the right moment for them to fall in love. Maybe that's why it was so easy for Robert to fall in love with Giselle, and for Nancy to fall in love with Edward.
"So, if magic exists, you wouldn't happen to know any fairy godmothers, would you, Edward? Or even just a fairy?"
"As a matter of fact, my dear Nancy, there's something I would like to show you later!"
Edward and Nancy got out of bed, and rang for the servants to help them prepare for the day. After getting dressed, Nancy joined Edward in the dining room for breakfast. Once they finished, they briefly met with a royal advisor to hear about the ongoing work in the castle, now that Narissa was gone.
Finally, Edward led Nancy to a nondescript door in the castle. When he placed his hand on its surface, there was a flash of light, and Nancy could see something akin to a lock being opened.
Inside the room was a wand on a dais. The wand was sculpted from golden brown wood, with ornate carvings on its handle.
"Wow! Is this a magic wand?"
"Not just any wand, but an Andalasian Wishing Wand! Or simply, a Wand of Wishes."
"You can make wishes? Edward, that's wonderful! Are there rules on how to use it?"
"Only that you must be a true son or daughter of Andalasia."
"That's too bad then… I wasn't born in Andalasia…"
Edward chuckled, and Nancy blushed, as she wondered what Edward thought was so funny.
"My dear, but you are a daughter of Andalasia! You married me, a son, which makes you a daughter of Andalasia."
Nancy gasped, as she realized that Edward was right.
Walking up to the dais, Nancy gingerly picked up the wand, and gave it an experimental wave. Deciding to start with an easy wish, she remembered her phone, which she had thrown away during the wedding.
"I wish… I had my phone, perfectly still intact."
For a moment, nothing happened. But then, Nancy could feel something materialize in her hand, the one that wasn't holding onto the wand.
She gasped for the second time that day. In Nancy's hand was her old phone - not a single crack to be seen!
"It works! It really works!"
Nancy jumped into Edward's arms, and he responded by enthusiastically hugging her.
"Thank you so much for this, Edward! With a magic wand, anything is possible, even in New York!"
She stepped back, and anxiously met Edward's gaze.
"Will you be alright while I'm gone? Can you manage things in the kingdom alone?"
"It's a daunting task, to be sure. But that's what the royal advisors and council are for! To support the king and queen of Andalasia."
Nancy saw how confident Edward was, and knew that she had nothing to worry about. She gave Edward one last embrace, and then wished that she was in New York.
✦✦✦
According to her wish, Nancy found herself standing in her apartment.
Everything was just as she left it, right before she had gone to the ball with Robert. Nancy decided to change out of her queenly dress, and into a more casual outfit. Afterwards, she dug through her belongings to find her important documents.
Nancy had wondered what to do regarding her design studio. Not only was it a product of years of hard work, she had to consider her employees who would be out of a job if Nancy suddenly retired.
This left Nancy in a predicament. If the design studio was here to stay, then who would manage it?
Someone who'd know about Nancy's circumstances… Someone who was aware of magic. More importantly, someone who had a keen eye for fashion.
Only one person came to mind - Giselle. Nancy had noticed that the redheaded woman looked beautiful, in her purple halter dress, the night of the ball. Perhaps it was a stretch, but Nancy didn't exactly have many options at the moment.
Gathering her documents in one arm, Nancy left to head towards Robert's apartment. When she got there, Nancy steeled herself, and then knocked on the door. She waited in the hallway, until she heard footsteps approaching.
"I'm so sorry, I'm a bit busy at the moment… Nancy?!"
Robert stood at the door, with a shocked expression on his face. He was wearing a business suit, with the jacket off, leaving him in just a dress shirt.
"Hi, Robert. Mind if I come in?"
"O-of course not…"
Robert moved aside to allow Nancy into his apartment. She looked around, searching for Giselle, and stopped at the sight of a certain man.
"You're… Edward's manservant, Nathaniel?"
"Oh! My lady, how nice it is to see you again."
Nathaniel stood up from the couch where he had been sitting, and bowed at Nancy.
"Um, you don't need to do that…"
"Don't I? Are you not Prince Edward's beloved?"
"How did you…?"
Nancy was surprised that Nathaniel was aware of her and Edward's relationship.
"I saw you two at the ball. You returned with him to Andalasia."
"…Nathaniel told me about what happened with you and Prince Edward. I'm - I'm sorry for hurting you, Nancy…"
"It's okay, Robert. I'm happy for you and Giselle, truly. I've had some time to think about our relationship, and, well, I think we're better off as just friends."
She gave Robert a small smile, and Robert smiled back uncertainly. Nancy walked towards a chair in the living room, then sat down. She noticed that the table in front of the couch was full of papers. Nancy questioned Robert, and he explained that he was working with Nathaniel to get him citizenship in the US.
Nancy realized she had forgotten that Nathaniel, Giselle, and Edward weren't US citizens. Without that, Giselle couldn't manage her design studio.
She asked Robert again, how long it would take for all of the paperwork to go through. He shook his head exasperatedly, and said it would take months at the least. He also had to worry about Giselle's citizenship. Nancy smirked, and took out the magic wand in her purse.
"I think I have the solution to both of our problems."
"Is that… a stick?"
Robert looked skeptical, until Nancy wished that Nathaniel and Giselle were citizens of the United States. On the table appeared passports, birth certificates, and other documents for both Nathaniel and Giselle. Robert examined the passport for Giselle, and was amazed to find that it looked like a real passport.
After he finished examining the passport, Robert stared at Nancy and the wand in her hand. Not knowing what else to do, Nancy put the wand back into her purse.
"So, magic wishing wand… it says a lot, that this isn't even the weirdest thing that's happened to me. How do we know these documents are real though?"
"Well, you could try looking them up on the internet? Try looking for when Giselle 'graduated' high school."
Robert took Nancy's advice, and grabbed his laptop to look up the school that Giselle had "graduated" from. He found a yearbook on the school's website, and when he opened it, he saw Giselle's photo along with the other graduates.
"Hold on… so the magic wand altered reality?"
"It's true, Sir Robert. In my mind, there exists memories that did not exist before. And a life that I previously had not led…"
Nathaniel seemed to be somewhere else, as his gaze focused on something that Robert and Nancy couldn't see.
"If that's happened to Nathaniel, then Giselle…"
There was frantic knocking on Robert's front door, and Robert hurried over to open it. Giselle was panting, and Morgan worriedly stood by her.
"Oh, Robert, it's terrible! I arrived here with Morgan after going out to the park, but when we came back, I felt a sudden rush of memories! But, but, they aren't my memories! At least, I don't think they are! So we ran up to your apartment as quickly as possible, and… oh my!"
Giselle covered her mouth when she spotted Nancy, and Nancy awkwardly stood up to wave at Giselle.
"Hi? Sorry about that! I kind of made a wish for you and Nathaniel to have new lives here on Earth…"
"Really?! Thank you so much, Ms. Nancy!"
"Please, call me Nancy - oof!"
Nancy's breath left her lungs after Giselle enthusiastically hugged her. They separated, and Nancy could feel herself taking in oxygen again. Meanwhile, Giselle was eagerly examining her shiny new passport. Nancy remembered the documents she had brought with her.
"I have another surprise for you, Giselle. You see, I'm a fashion designer, which means I make clothing for other people. And I run my own… shop. I sell the clothes I make to people who want to buy them. I need someone to take my place now that I'll be living in Andalasia, and I think that person should be you."
Giselle raptly paid attention to Nancy's words, and she covered her mouth again when she heard this shocking news.
"M- me? B-but, how can I accept, especially with what happened at the ball…!"
Giselle was crying, both tears of happiness and regret, as she felt underserving of Nancy's generosity.
"No, please don't cry Giselle! I'm doing fine now! Robert and I have agreed to just be friends, and Edward gives you and Robert his blessings."
The redheaded woman brushed her tears away, and smiled at Nancy. She whispered her thanks to Nancy again, and then went to the bathroom to wash her face. Nancy handed Robert the documents that she had brought with her.
"Here you go, Robert. This is everything you need for the design studio. I've included the deed of transfer of business ownership, which I've signed and dated. You'll need to get Giselle to sign it, and then go to have it officially notarized."
"This is amazing, Nancy! You've done so much for all of us today…"
"Like I told Giselle, you really don't need to thank me. Besides, you still have a lot of work ahead of you. Teach Giselle how to run her own business, and also how to live in New York. Oh, and please don't let wild animals near other people without properly sanitizing and training them first."
Nancy frowned when she remembered conversing with the woodland animals at her wedding. She learned from them more about Giselle's past, and how she was an orphan abandoned in the forest to be raised by them.
Giving Robert, Nathaniel, Morgan, and Giselle one last goodbye, Nancy headed to her (former) studio. It would still be open today, since she left her assistant, May, in charge of running the place whenever she was gone.
Arriving at the studio, Nancy greeted the secretary at the front. Then, she went to find May, who was deep in a conversation with one of the designers.
"May! I have great news to share with you!"
"Nancy?! Oh my gosh, what are you doing here? You weren't supposed to come in for a couple more days!"
May looked pleasantly surprised to see Nancy.
"Yes, yes, about that… something happened at the ball, something big."
"You're telling me! I heard all about it on the tv! Man, those actors did a really great job with their performances. And that dragon was soooo realistic!"
Nancy was amused to hear that everyone at the ball thought the events of the night had been fake.
"That's big news, yes, but not what I want to talk to you about. May, I'm leaving the design studio."
"What?! You are?! Isn't this too sudden….?!"
May grabbed Nancy's hands, and squeezed them anxiously.
"I know how this sounds, but you were right May. I never actually gave up on my dream of finding a fairytale prince. And, well, I've found him. He's different from Robert, in all the right ways. For once in my life, I want to be spontaneous. And hey, if this doesn't work out, I can always come back to New York."
Unbeknownst to May, Nancy was being literal. If things didn't pan out in Andalasia, Nancy could always go back to Earth, maybe even start a new business.
Nancy and May shared a heartfelt embrace, as May wished Nancy the best in her future endeavors. Nancy thanked her, and told her about how she'd already found a replacement for the studio. That being said, it would take months for Giselle to be ready, which was enough time for the employees to finish the designs from customers who had already ordered. Meanwhile, the studio would no longer be accepting new commissions from customers.
May was not only in charge of the employees, she would eventually help Giselle adjust to her new role as boss.
Before going back to her apartment, Nancy walked to Home Depot to buy a pair of high visibility safety vests, and hardhats. She and Edward would need these whenever they visited New York through the wishing well/ manhole. Nancy also went to a clothing store to buy a casual outfit for Edward.
Nancy ate a small meal for herself, and then returned to her apartment.
Glancing around, Nancy smiled mischievously. She knew that she would have to return the wand when she was back in Andalasia. For now though, there was one last wish she could make.
"I wish my purse was bottomless, so it could fit anything I wanted inside, without affecting its appearance on the outside."
Nancy waited for the magic to be cast, and then got to work stuffing things from her apartment into her bag. Books, articles of clothing, technology - everything she wanted to bring with her, she stored inside her purse.
Deciding that this was enough, Nancy held onto the wishing wand, and wished that she was back in Andalasia.
✦✦✦
Time passed, and Nancy adjusted to her rule as Queen. Running a kingdom was like running her design studio, except on hard mode.
She ensured that everyone had relatively equal opportunities, that the kingdom's budget was being handled appropriately, and that non-human creatures could have a say in what laws and ordinances were passed.
Nancy also learned that in Andalasia, no one ate meat. Nancy was glad that she was already a vegetarian back on Earth. It was actually rather enlightening for her to learn that animals in Andalasia weren't like animals back on Earth. There weren't any carnivorous animals at all, and even animals who appeared to be carnivores, like owls, could subsist entirely on fruits, veggies, and plants.
She had a theory that the magic of this fairytale world made it so animals evolved differently, and that they could live in harmony together.
Because animals here were able to communicate with humans, humans needed to trade and barter with them for supplies. For example, if one wanted wool, they would barter with the sheep. No animals were domesticated as livestock in Andalasia. Some preferred living in the wild, while others didn't mind interacting with humans.
It was fascinating to Nancy, and she enjoyed learning new things everyday. While it was easy to deal with the animals, it was harder for Nancy to reason with entities like dragons or trolls.
Trolls, as it turns out, liked to chase humans. It was a sport for them to pretend to scare humans into thinking they'd eat them. This led Edward and other "troll hunters" into actually believing the trolls would eat them, if they didn't catch them first. After tying the troll up, they'd send the troll to do work like mining.
Nancy was frightened when she met the first troll Edward had caught since her time in Andalasia. She reminded herself though that this was unlikely to be the last time she'd meet a troll. So she steeled herself and attempted to communicate with it.
To her surprise, the troll actually spoke to her. He answered slowly and awkwardly, but Nancy could understand him. So Nancy decided to ask him questions, like why trolls "ate" humans. Apparently, no one had ever actually questioned a troll.
The troll, named Fred, told Nancy that trolls liked to chase things. It was in their instincts to chase after fast, moving objects - like humans. Nancy inquired after what happened to the trolls in the mines, and she also found out that the trolls actually liked mining. It was good for them to focus on the labor intensive work, as it required them to use their strength.
So it was really a big misunderstanding all along! Humans and trolls didn't communicate, which was why people misconstrued an activity of the trolls as trying to eat them. Trolls needed an output for their natural instincts, but otherwise, they could be well meaning citizens of Andalasia.
Nancy brokered peace with the trolls, and gradually, more trolls integrated themselves into jobs like law enforcement.
A year passed, and Nancy was proud of herself of how much progress she'd made in that year. She was a queen who was respected and loved by her people, none more so than her husband Edward.
Nancy was grateful for Edward being by her side, as they learned how to rule the kingdom together. Edward knew when to be prideful, but also when to be humble and earnest. Nancy could not forget how he and other "troll hunters" had apologized to the trolls for hunting them (and vice versa).
She wanted to do something special for Edward, since it would be their one year anniversary together.
Edward had shown Nancy his "memory tree", which was a tree planted in the royal gardens. It contained all of the memories of the royal family. Memories of what they held near and dear to their hearts.
Nancy planned to meet Edward at this tree, and do something she had never done before in Andalasia - sing.
She wasn't a bad singer, but Nancy had only ever sung in school choirs and parties. She didn't think that she could pull off what everyone from Andalasia did so effortlessly - proclaiming to the world about her innermost thoughts and desires. But for Edward, she would try.
On the night of their anniversary, Nancy led Edward to a table she had set up underneath the shade of the willow tree. They dined together, and laughed about their memories of the past year.
Nancy gazed at the wonderful man who was her husband, and she could feel something stirring in her heart. In that moment, she knew what she would say.

Edward and Nancy should have had a quirky scene/love duet about their past few years in Andalasia together with lots of banter back and forth, he asks her if she misses New York, the cellphones, the modern conveniences, the hot dogs and the bagels, if she wants to really stay with him in a land full of ogres and beasts and invasive talking animals and then she answers him with all the mystical and magical and beautiful things in Andalasia that she loves, the magical lakes sparkling in the perfect sunrises every morning, the fairies granting beautiful wishes, being a queen, then she asks him if she did miss New York would he leave behind his fantasy land and his kinghood for her and he would list all of the wonderful things he could do in New York and then the end of the song comes together and they both say at the same time "And it would have/has you." And then they kiss
I should've written this movie

Queen Narissa Villainess Backstory!
Been waiting till after Disenchanted to do this one incase it gave me any new information I could use to craft a backstory for her and it did! Along with some ideas for a backstory for Giselle!!
Born Nora Ladon
Originally from Our World, was a secretary in 1970s New York
Was dissatisfied with her lot and wanted a more magical life, where she had real opportunity for advancement and maybe even love
Started getting into magic, and eventually met a real magical user, someone who had crossed over from Andalasia/The Everrealm in the past into Our World, who provided her with magical training and knowledge of how to get to Andalasia
There she changed name to Narissa, the name of a sea nymph in mythology, as tribute to her water based abilities
(I headcanon that all humans who use magic are naturally drawn to one of the four elements as a base from which they can use magic)
Narissa used her magical talents and beauty to enter into court life as the Royal Magical Advisor to the King and Queen of Andalasia
During this time she discovered Queen Grimhilde's secret lair beneath the castle and started learning Dark Magic from her spell books to further her ambitions
(Andalasia is Snow White's kingdom in my personal canon)
Eventually she fell in love with a young knight of the court named Albrecht, but though he cared for her his heart was already falling for another, a beautiful forest nymph called Myrthe
The two wed in secret to hide from Narissa's wrath, and had a child, a daughter called Giselle
Albrecht hid his wife and daughter in a house he's built for them around Myrthe's tree
But Narissa discovered the pair and exacted her vengeance upon them
Myrthe managed to save Giselle with the help of the local animals, who hid her, and later raised her in the tree house after Albrecht and Myrthe demise
All that was left of their souls joined together to create the memory tree that grew next to their old home, preserving and tending to their daughter's memories as she grew
Narissa, now fully committed to darkness, decided to move up in the world once more, determined to become Queen of Andalasia
She slowly got rid of the royal family on by one,  a sudden sickness here, an accident with a dragon there
She only kept Edward alive as he's a true son of Andalasia, and  had access to Andalasian magic in a way that she, a person born of Our World, could never have. She used this connection he had to "feed" off him to gain extra power in her own spells, as well as using this extra magic/magic draining  to keep him innocent and compliant
She fears Edward getting married as she knows that if he gets True Love's Kiss it will break the spells she's created to use him.
When she realizes who Giselle is, the daughter of the man she she felt betrayed her , she has extra incentive to get rid of her, both from petty jealousy and as she knows that Giselle possess inherent magic as well as the Daughter of a Nymph, (which is how she can create musical numbers and talk to animals still in Our World) and so could be a powerful rival if she learned to use her magic intentionally
This is also why she wants Edward to come back to Andalasia alive. So she can continue using him as a power boost.
This is also the reason Narissa can't create any more poisoned apples once those three are used, she's become too dependent on using Edward and with him gone her magic is weakening. She starts to draw on him again in Our World, which is how she can transform into a dragon, but she over exerts her stores, and as Edward is fighting back against her finally and Giselle is as well, unknowingly using her  own magic, Narissa is eventually drained and this is why she disintegrates into nothing.
I wanted to give Narissa more of a personal reason to hate Giselle/give Giselle a backstory that better linked her to the villain and the  fairytale she originally came from in the movie (as well as some nods to the Ballet which shares her name). Plus it adds some extra in story weight to Narissa calling Giselle "the one who started it all", rather than just a call back to Snow White
Also made her mother a Nymph based on these early concept drawings for Giselle

I like to think this is what her mother looked like and she gets her red hair from her father
