I’ve been chipping away at this for over a month, I posted some of the panels a while ago with color, but wanted to do a bit more with the scene, so I thought i’d headcanon their teenaged angsty-flirty-back and forthing, deciding to date, and swapping tokens of devotion and possibly a fun little lead up to this piece.

Look I never know how canon any of these things are, I just love making little scenarios so take that as you will. I like to think Principal B was annoyed by this pair of troublemakers, but never ratted to their parents cuz knew they’d both be worse off for it, and simply gave them 1000000 detentions instead.

I always admire just how thought out your headcannons for the DR2 survivors are, but I'm curious on one that's been scratching the back of my mind. Do you think there was a point after the events of DR2/DR3 Souda and Sonia ever had a genuine sit down and talk about his advances towards her in anyway? Maybe leads to a better understanding of one another (or Souda profusely apologizing for an hour or two) and they come out on a much better note going forward?

I do, and I even have a dialogue written down for a comic I wanna make. It's just, a bit *heavy*, so I havent fone it yet, but I wanna.

I think that at some point, they would need a confrontation wherein Souda can really understand *why* it's not okay for him to treat Sonia like he does, even though he thinks he's being objectively positive/ nice. Which would lead to him explaining *why* he latched onto his ideal of her, and them having an honest conversation (post-argument, people need to argue too) and them getting to understand one another. Afterwards, though they'll never have a fully "neutral/normal" relationship (too much history, even within their traumatized group), they have their own special dynamic wherein they build each other up in a way. That's my dream scenario anyway!

Rewatching high school musical through a "metaphor for bisexuality" lens and its grand, musical theatre isn't the cool sports thing or the nerdy smart thing, it's a secret third thing (i.e. being bi isn't being half straight or half gay, it's a secret third thing), feeling like you have to hide it from your friends/family, Troy's dad telling him "you're a playmaker not a singer" and Troy saying "did you ever think maybe I could be both?"

Everyone thinks you should "stick to what you know" because it's easier and makes less waves, but even though everyone keeps telling you one thing (heterosexuality) is the "normal", easy thing you should stick to, you feel drawn to the other thing and feel like your really being yourself finally when you stop resisting it.

Honestly I would love to see a variation on high school musical where Troy and Gabriella are either both boys, or both girls.
