I'd actually like to see more interaction between Vlad & your draconologist. They were kinda cute.

so we rejoin the story to find the Riddler having a crisis over the fact that Ellie somehow Does Not Know Who Batman Is. Ace is trying to explain it to her, except the Riddler can’t see Ace and is therefore considering the fact that the weird little girl he picked up might have a legitimate mental disorder that’s causing her to hallucinate. however his prevailing theory is that the toxin from the bullet (because of course it’s toxin, why else would it be green?) is messing with her head, so maybe she’ll make more sense once that’s dealt with.
except then he tries to say something about cleaning the wound and trying to get all the green out so she doesn’t get poisoned any further, and she fuckin goes.
“Oh, it’s supposed to be like that.”
“What?”
yeah, so fun fact for you, Eddie: Ellie’s insides are just green sometimes. and she’s not explaining why. there’s a reason, yes, allegedly a very good and normal reason according to her, but she’s not going to tell you what it is.
Lovely.
“Well, will you at least let me clean it?” He asks, not entirely believing that her blood is Supposed To Be A Little Bit Mostly Green. “Infections are a serious business, you know, they’ll eat away at your flesh if you don’t know what to—”
And Ellie just shrugs. “Yeah, whatever. As long as I come out of this with as much flesh as I went in with.”
And what the fuck does she mean by that. Is that an issue for her? Tissue theft? Do people regularly attempt to make off with her flesh? Every word out of this child’s mouth makes him more and more baffled and concerned.
Ellie, of course, is well aware of the fact that sometimes she would go into Vlad’s lab and then leave with less mass than she had before, so it’s quite a valid concern for her. Ellie also does not entirely know what a hospital or infirmary is, and therefore is under the impression that all people-fixing happens in a lab, since that’s how it went with both Vlad and Danny. Ace’s account of experimentation only supports that, although Ace is at least somewhat aware of what a hospital is.
so Eddie takes his newly acquired headache back to his base, grabs the first aid kit, and comes back into the room he left her in to find that yes, her blood is both green and red, and yes, it’s now on his floor. and so is the bullet.
“Can’t leave you alone for five minutes, Jesus Christ,” he mutters, punching the bridge of his nose. Ellie is unsympathetic.
“You were taking too long and I wanted the bullet out.”
Above her, Ace is sighing, though Eddie can’t hear it. “I told you to be careful. You could have waited for tweezers. I know he was bringing them.”
“Yeah, well, my fingers worked, didn’t they? I don’t need his tweezers.”
“Who are you talking to?”
“Ceiling ghost.”
“…What?”
“I said what I said. She’s unimpressed by you, by the way.”
“I— what? Why is a ceiling ghost judging me? And for that matter, whose ghost is in my ceiling?!”
“That’s irrelevant! You should work on being someone the ceiling ghost can be proud of, dammit!”
(Eddie is very close to throwing something, but Ace is laughing for the first time since Ellie’s met her, so. Ellie can’t really bring herself to regret antagonizing the question man.)

Danny Phantom across the Multiverse
Vlad never learns and like always left his 17 year old nemesis to clean up his mess. So what did Vlad do? He opened the sarcophagus of forever sleep again.
At least he didn't do it for ultimate power again. No he did it because he was desperate, because the Observants finally wanted to lock him up for opening the sarcophagus the first time and releasing Vortex.
So Vlad ran but he didn't want to run forever so he thought he could gain favor from Pariah by releasing him. But that didn't work he just ended up swapping imprisonment for 3000 years for ceasing to exist.
This led to Danny fighting Pariah again, this time without the ecto-skeleton. It was a fierce battle that had the Infinite Realms shaking, the effects of it could be felt in every dimension.
Battered and bruised Danny stood infront Pariah Dark ready to finally end the fight. He crushed Parish's core, but while the old King was fading he didn't want Danny to feel victorious. So he opened up numerous portals behind the halfa that was beginning to suck him in.
While Danny was fighting against the portals with the last of Pariah strength he blasted Danny where his core was and it split into 10 pieces and Danny's energy and body was sucked into them when all but one piece was sucked into the portal.
Clockwork made sure to save one piece so that his grandson could make it back to him and his family.
Once the pieces were spat out the other end of the portals in different dimensions, 9 different Danny's emerged from the pieces.
One Danny found himself stumbling into a Camp that had the campers wearing orange coloured shirts and running around with swords and other kind of weapons. They welcomed him into the camp and helped him recover. He spent 2 years training, questing and trying to find his way back home. Sadly Danny lost his life in the war against the Titans to save his fellow campers.
When he died his core went back to the piece that was being held in Clockworks lair
Another found himself on an island that had dinosaurs and two giant Viking warrior friends fighting to prove who had caught the bigger fish. When they weren't fighting they were training Danny. Sadly he had to leave them in order to find a way home, so he left with a small pirate crew that was led by a man with a straw hat. They had many adventures, they laughed and cried, fought in many battles, fought against the world government and completed their dreams all except Danny who instead of making it home, made one for himself and had lived long enough to meet his great grand children.
Then he passed peacefully in his sleep and made his way back to his grandfather.
Another Danny found himself in a crime ridden city called Gotham instead of helping he decided to find a way home, he knows he should help but this wasn't his dimension he needed to get home. So he started stealing from tech companies in hope to build a portal home. After a few years when he was almost done with the portal the city gained its own vigilante called Batman and he was trying to catch Danny already. The rookie vigilante was well trained but Danny found out that Batman was actually Bruce Wayne (what's with billionaires and their secret life?). Sadly Danny found out that the veil was too thick to punch a hole into the infinite realms so he gave up and became a teacher at Gotham Academy. He eventually married one of his students mothers. A wonderful woman named Paula Crock, they met by accident and got along well. They told each other about their past and decided it didn't matter. Plus she loved it when he broke her ex husband's nose arms and legs. He even punched Bruce Wayne in the face for sending his step daughter on a mission that got her sent to the hospital. Sadly he was gunned down by a criminal while he was shielding his students. On his death bed he promised Paula he would come back for her.
Clockwork promised that he would help Danny reunite with the families he made.
When Max opened his eyes he couldn't remember who he was or how he ended up on the side of the road. Thankfully the Tennyson's gave him a name and adopted him. They even helped him pursue his dream of becoming an astronaut. But thanks to a certain incident he found out he could become something more if he joined the Plumbers. Joining the Plumbers gave him the best and worst times in his life. He made friends he couldn't have met if he didn't join but he also lost friends in this line of work. He also met his ex-wife Verdona who had given him his sons. Then he remembered his past but he couldn't leave his family he made so he didn't look for a way home. His grandson then became a hero like he was when he found the Omnitrix so he trained him. Hoping he didn't make the same mistakes he did, of course Ben made mistakes but at least he was around to help him. Until he wasn't, he was on a mission until he was discovered and had to ask Ben to step up and complete it for him and he did. He was so proud of his grandson, who became a better hero than he ever was. He still helped his grandson when he could even if he didn't want his help. Then one of his grandsons enemies accidentally made a portal to the Infinite Realms and it was going haywire, so he told his grandson and great grandsons to leave so he could shut it down. The only way he could make sure it didn't destroy the world was making it implode which would suck everything in a 10 mile radius into the Infinite Realms. He said good bye to his family and allowed himself to be sucked in.
Max met his Grandfather on the other side and gave him the biggest hug he could. He asked Clockwork if his family was still alive in his original dimension. Clockwork told him that what felt like decades to him over there was only hours here. Then he went on to tell Max that other fragments of him scattered across the Multiverse and would come back when they died or like him enter a realm portal. He also told him that now he had to put the core that was in him with the other core fragments in his lair.

Au where Danny ignored and shoved down his negative feeling until they wouldn't be ignored anymore.
Ever burn from an ectoblast searing his skin, every slur thrown by his parents and ex, every broken bone and stitched wound, every person writing of his pain as imaginary. Every punch, kick, lost assignment, broken promise and lonely thought be didn't dare finish...it manifested.
It was quiet. At least at first.
Mom and dad had left early in the morning leaving a note that said they were going to hunt a ghost on the border of town and that there was money for them to order pizza. After realizing his ghost sense never went off they decided to check the Ops center and they discovered there was no ghosts in the area and it was likely a false alarm so they went back to what they were doing.
It wasn't too unusual for thier parents to just up and leave for days or even weeks at a time, so the Fenton kids weren't really worried, but they usually called. It wasn't really a cause for alarm when they didn't though. Danny was having a great time. Less and less of his Rouges Gallery were showing up as the days went by. The first to disappear was Skulker, which he found surprising. He thought the hunter would be one of the last to give up. Skulkers absence was followed by Johnny's, then Kitty's when she came looking for her boyfriend. The list went on until ghosts became nervous and came to ask Danny if he had seen any of them lately.
Phantom knew something was deeply wrong when he heard about Walker disappearing from his prison. He wouldn't have left without a reason and definitely would have returned by now. He and his friends theorized the GIW were behind it. It was the only thing that made sense despite them being wildly incompetent. That was blown out of the water when news broke about Vlad being found deceased by one of his neighbors. They had seen his front door open and decided to check it out only to find Mr. Masters body torn to shreds just a few meters inside.
Danny was on the verge of a panic attack. What could have done that?! His ghost sense never went off and neither did the sensors in the Ops Center and the GIW couldn't have killed vlad even if they wanted to and they certainly wouldn't have don't it like that!
His breaths came quicker as he slid to the floor, using the cold of the kitchen tiles in an attempt to ground himself as his lungs burned from either not having enough air or what felt like the inability to process the air it received. He felt Jazz gently rubbing his back and shoulders, soothing him in a way she hadn't managed to in months dispute the same tactic being used. After his gasps became deeper and pettered off and the tears stopped flowing he turned the thank her.
It wasn't Jazz.
This...thing...it looked like him. More accurately it looked like a crude sketch of him ripped off of paper and brought into the real world. An angry scribble made with enough anger to rip the paper with the pencil and leave dark bold lines. "You don't have to be afraid anymore." His own voice said to him, making him feel both sick to his stomach and an odd sense of peace even as he flashed bloody teeth and became more solid and whole. He watched as it become a proper shade, "I'm here to protect you now."
And all at once he realized that blood wasn't his own.
----
It was only a few weeks later that he found himself in another universe after getting his friends and technus to help his destroy everything and everything ghost hunter related from his own world before leaving.
This new world had heros and magic and everything Danny would need to never be noticed again. His "shadow" for a lack of a better term, approved, as it often did when Danny found some way to keep himself safe.
One would think Gotham would be one of the worst places to feel safe in, but most people weren't Danny. Gotham had an odd darkness about it, one that seemed happy to swath him in shadows and hide him away. No one would be able to find his ecto-signature or hunt him with magic. The greatest weapon against "The Children of Lazarus" as his specific species of ghost had once been called here, was magic. Something he had either a high resistance to or-in most cases- outright immunity.
Danny had everything he needed here. An abandoned house all to himself that strangely came with hidden medical supplies but hey, gift horses and all that, running water and electricity and even a less than savory job as a drug smuggler. The only catch was that the big boss, one of the local vigilantes, refused to let kids in on his operations, which was fine so long as no one found out he was 15.

@royalkingdra reply on 31 Roleswap AU : Kindred Spirit
For your first question, yeah! She does exists on that AU on 31's spot, as GiW experiment instead of Vlad's. Haven't figure out how to get them to meet yet bc honestly, her first instinct after getting out of GiW is to just skip town instead of going to the Fentons' lol
Ooohh that is actually a fun concept 👀👀
Hmmm, their relationship probably would be a bit awkward/distant at first. Because Dani is an imperfect clone while 31 is a near perfect one albeit some minor details, Vlad would treat these two very differently.
Dani is very attached to Vlad in canon, so she would be jealous of 31; while 31 probably envy how free Dani is compared to him (aka don't have to be around Vlad the whole time). But I can see them being very close once they actually like talk and get to know each other.
And yeah, 31 would have chosen to travel with Dani instead of the Fentons because he wouldn't have to do so alone. Neither of them know a single thing about how the outside world works but at least they can figure it out together~
Also Dani would be the one keeping an eye on 31 to keep him safe, if only bc she's faster at punching and biting ppl than 31 lmao

Raising Phantom Chpt 8
Raising Phantom on Ao3
Jason sat up next to his favorite gargoyle as a kid, watching the city in thought. Duke, after the party, had confirmed something odd was with Danny and Vlad. Having caught a second glimpse of Vlad as he stormed out after recovering from a punch from Bruce. Which was a shock in itself as he was supposedly knocked out cold. Would have taken a normal man at least a few hours. Duke had tried his best to explain the image, but best he could describe it was a holographic card where it was two images at once. Danny's was a boy with white hair, and Vlad's was a vampire. It sounded ridiculous if Jason didn't remember that weird feeling he had when the boy was near. He had almost forgotten-well forgotten wasn't right word- He had accepted that strange feeling. It was eerie at first but grew comforting around the kid. He tapped his foot on the edge of the stone. Vlad had a weird pull too, he didn't notice until Duke pointed it out. He had assumed it was Danny, until he tried to track Vlad. Vlad always knew where to look for him, so he disappeared once he confirmed the feeling. Dick suggested that perhaps it was a freak accident both of them were apart of? Kept it secret from Jazz? But Jason doubted it. Tim brought up their unknown parents. Jason glared at the city view. That sounded plausible, they were responsible could be the reason they all had a falling out. “..I never known a boring day in my life..” Jason flexing his hand as he recalled Jazz's voice back in the library. Definitely pointed towards parents. Dead brother too. Jason stood up with a huff, he needed to stop reflecting on it. Let the others keep playing this game, but he was going to stomp his foot down if they cross the line. Stretching as he stared over the horizon. He definitely going to keep an eye on Danny. Though the tabloid story was going to make it hard. Stupid gossip. ---
Ever since they've arrived home, Vlad has been on their couch playing the 'pitiful me' card. He would whine about the gala, how foolish he looked. He begged Jasmine and Danny to let him get back at Bruce, which both declined. “Mr. Wayne started most of the foundations and fundraisers in Gotham as well as provide jobs for the city. INCLUDING the improvements made to both my college and future place of work. You can't hurt him because he punched you for threatening his kids!” Jazz would explain for a millionth time as she give Vlad his cup of coffee. Her hair wired and frizzed. Vlad was driving her nuts. “All for show! I bet the money ends up in the rogue's pockets.” Vlad sip his cup of coffee, while sitting in his fancy robs that were out of place on the makeshift bed of a couch. He gagged at the taste of the coffee, and made a face as if to tell Jazz his opinion of it, only to snap his mouth shut at the look she gave him. He cleared his throat, setting the coffee down. “BESIDES I was well within my right! What were you two thinking running off with those brats!?” Danny who was lazily poking at his scrambled eggs, “Thinking of kicking Dick and that it be funny to be kidnapped.” “Danny.” Jazz huffed, hands on her hips as she whipped back to face him. Danny just shrugged at her. “And you Jasmine!? Off with that boy! Have you lost your mind girl?! Bad boy look? REALLY-” “Not the first time-” Danny mumbled, only to get a look from Jazz. Message loud and clear, 'You're not helping!'. “Why can't you go to Harvard?! Or anywhere else!? I have the funds, my girl, just choose a place to go. You and Daniel don't have to stay in this filthy apartment, in this waste of a city! With terrible coffee and cat piss lining the hallways. You don't have to be here. That Asylum will get you killed and these vigilantes are like flies on a rotten carcass. So I trust them as little as I would Bruce to have a thought in his head!” Vlad moving dramatically, expressing with his hands as much as his voice. “I told you, Vlad. This is important to me! If I can learn and improve things here, then I can help so many more people than I could by being a family therapist. I could actually make a difference in their lives and the lives they affect. That's worth more than a comfy job writing psychology books and being a celebrity's psychologist.” Jazz huffed out of breath, tired of arguing her point. “And that's worth more than dying? What about Danny then?!” Vlad pointed out. His words making Danny flinch. Danny just stuffed his face with his eggs, looking away from them. He didn't want to be apart of this. “What if you perished because of your obsession with helping this god-forsaken place?! Of course I would take in Daniel, but his core would be damaged! Ghosts don't take grief well.” He hissed the last part. Danny frowned. Wanting to say he was fine, but the image of Dan made him shiver as he stabbed his eggs. At least growing up again means delaying looking like his future self... past.. self? He would only be four years younger than Dan was... Danny's eye twitched at the thought, hands clenching tight the fork in his hand. “I know that Vlad, but I have you know we TALKED about it. To get a doctorate in psychology will take years, so my plans won't even be in full swing until he's almost grown. Also I like to remind SOMEONE that I have nanobots in my blood stream so I be a bit harder to kill.” She put her hands on her hips. Vlad cleared his throat, looking away from her at the mention. He put the coffee mug to his lips, “Yes, well. I still think your obsession with this city is just as bad as your parents-” Vlad felt a dark chill down his spine that not even his hot watery coffee could warm. He quickly stammered to correct himself, “Oh. .did I .. I mean um. You know what, dear Jasmine. I-i think I may have been a little... dramatic. You are a grown woman and.. have.. your own ...ambitions. Who am I to judge...? hm?” He sipped his coffee loudly, as he stared at Jazz, whose eyes glimmered darkly. He was hoping that was enough to cool the situation. Jazz took a deep breath and turned away to grab her lunch bag and purse. Danny pushed from the table, hopping down to follow her, only for Jazz to put her hand in front of Danny to stop him. “Stay here with.. UNCLE Vlad, Danny. I'll be back at dinner.” Jazz running her fingers through her hair before putting it up in a ponytail. Danny stumbled back, confused. “What?! Why do I have to be punished?! Vlad's the one that-” “Danny, PLEASE. I just want to be alone, okay?” Jazz looked exhausted. Clearly she needed the break. Danny scrunched up his face and crossed his arms with a huff. Cursing Vlad in his head. “Don't worry about making dinner dear Jasmine! I-I'll order from that run-down- I mean quaint Italian restaurant you like.” Vlad doing his best to get on her good side, realizing how badly he slipped up with that comment. “Daniel and I will have a wonderful time.” Jazz and Danny both groaned as she turned to stomp out, closing the door with a hard slam behind her. Danny flinched at the noise, and rubbed his arm. He stared down at his feet. This was first time in a while he seen her so upset. If he wasn't so small, they wouldn't have to argue like that. They could dump Vlad and be on their merry way. Danny sighed, then he glanced over to Vlad who dramatically flailed back on the couch with a groan. A hand over his face as the coffee was set on the table. He too let out a loud sigh. “What am I going to do with that girl? Insisting on living like this- surely you would like somewhere better? Right Daniel?” “Danny. And it's fine.” Danny muttered as he walked over to the table where his breakfast still sat. He picked up his plate and decided to throw it away. He didn't feel hungry anymore. “You two don't even have to live with me! It could be an apartment in a safer place. Nothing too fancy.” Vlad waved his hand as he talked, the other still on his face. Danny snorted. Vlad's version of nothing too fancy was far drastic than their image of it. “Vlad, I don't even want you here, let alone a place you own.” “Yes yes. Because of the cloning, the murder plotting, and all that.” Vlad sighed again, before removing his hand off his face peaking at the corner where Danny emerged from the kitchen. “But seriously, you can't be happy here. Aren't you afraid of what could happen to her?” Danny flinched and stared down at his feet. He rubbed his arm as he swayed in his spot. He debated on answering him. “I'm fine.. and of course.. I worry. But I delayed her life already, she deserves to seek out her dreams, ya know?” Vlad stared at him and then rolled over on the couch with a groan. “You two will be the death of me.” Danny rolled his eyes as he moved through the living room. He glanced at the tv that was playing one of Vlad's favorite soap operas, and then glanced over to the door to his room. He debated on just watching videos or playing in his room, but.. He glanced at the front door. “Hey... Vlad?” Danny asked hesitantly, refusing to look at the man. “Yes, Daniel?” Vlad never moved to look at him either, his voice showing his exhaustion. His tired face staring at the tv screen. Danny stared at his hands, the question catching in his throat. Vlad waited a few moments, then shuffled to get up on his elbows, staring back at Danny with a raised brow. Danny twiddling his fingers, frozen. “Well? Get on with it.” Danny jerked staring back up at Vlad, matching his eyes. He blinked for a moment then glanced back to the side, taking a breath. Gathering his courage to ask in a squeaky, “......How's mo- how's our... parents doing?” Vlad's eyes stayed on Danny for a hard moment. Danny could see out the corner of his eyes, Vlad's flashing red with rage before cooling down. He sat up with a heavy groan, rubbing his face with his hand. Looking older by the minute. “Daniel-Danny.. its best you forget about them.” “I want to know.” Danny stated firmly or as firmly as he could. Vlad shook his head, looking away from the child. He propped his head on his hand, while he drummed his fingers with his other hand on the coffee table. His face morphing into sympathy or perhaps pity as he thinks about what to tell Danny. “They're still alive and bumbling fools.” Vlad rolled his tongue, trying not to let his anger get the best of him. “Do they.. still-” Danny tried to asked, afraid of the answer but wanting to hear it. His fist balling up in his shirt. “Yes. They still think you took their child- Danniel-Danny I really do think its best you stop worrying about them.” Vlad really reluctant to tell Danny more, not wanting to mention how delusional their parents had gotten. “I can't.” Danny stressed, pulling on his shirt. Vlad nodded, “Of course you can't. Oh what am I going to do with you?” Vlad's voice sounded more concern and gentle than Danny was use to. Danny stared at the floor, feeling his eyes water. Stupid. He knew the answer before he asked. He took breaths to keep his tears back and turned to run into his bedroom. The tv clicked off and he felt a ruffle of his hair before he could run. “I think we're overdue for a flight, don't you little badger?” Vlad smiled. “Don't try to teach me anything.” Danny said, his voice shakier than he would have like. “Don't plan on it, now come along. Be embarrassing to be out in our jammies.” Vlad ushering Danny towards the bedroom. “Jammies?” Danny questioned the childish nickname for pjamas. “Pjs, pjamas, sleepwear.” Vlad tiredly explained. Danny just frowned, but just wiped his face and sighed. He ran to his room to change, trying his best to forget about his parents again. He still didn't really get the answer he wanted, but perhaps its better he didn't know how far they were going.

Life's Great Lie 10
Okay, so.  Clint had a concussion.  A nasty concussion.  Not the worst he’d ever gotten, but he was impaired.  Probably wouldn’t be hitting any bullseyes in the next few hours, that was for sure.
However, he wasn’t nearly as impaired as he was letting his current captors believe, thank God.
(No, wait, a god was the reason he was concussed in the first place.  Screw god.)
At least, that had been his initial impression.  When one of his teenage captors disappeared in a whirl of sand and the other two had started hitting buttons that turned the… Yeah, okay, he didn’t know what he was in, but he’d seen brick.  He was pretty sure that things with brick in them weren’t supposed to turn into a blimp.  Or a jet.  Since the two remaining children (who had tied him up surprisingly well) were arguing about turning it into a jet.
Had Barton seen some weird stuff in his time?  Yes.  Did he frequently work from an aircraft carrier that also flew?  Yes.  Had he just spent the last several days mind-controlled by a Norse deity alongside a kid who was fifty percent dead?  Yes.  Was he, Clint Barton, also incredibly strange?  Yes.  Yes, he most certainly was.
But a guy had to draw the line somewhere.  He was just debating if he should draw the line before or after the weirdly competent children simultaneously being wizards and mechanical geniuses.
… Or, now that he was starting to reorient himself, they were just using the Fentons’ gear.  Where were the Doctors Fenton anyway?
.
Maddie Fenton squinted at her phone.  “Jack, honey,” she said, with the kind of venomous sweetness she generally reserved for Vlad Masters and Pamela Manson, “I think we’ve been had.”
Jack with an equally uncharacteristic grimness surveyed the mostly empty street.  “I think you’re right.”
“There’s been another report,” said Maddie, still squinting.  She wished she remembered how to make the words on the phone bigger.  “Park and Amity.”
Jack started for the GAV.  “Park Place?  Or Park Row?”
“Park Row is in another city, dear.”
“I was sure there was a Park Row here as well!”
“Alright, and which Amity is it?  Or did you mean A. Mitty?”
“You’re the only one who calls Alfred Mitty Boulevard that, dear.”  Maddie sighed.  “I suppose we’ll just have to check them out one by one.”
“Ha!  Well, with the Fenton Ghost Assault Vehicle, that’ll be a snap!”
.
The most surprising thing about all of this, mused Danny, was that his parents had yet to add to the chaos.  Uncharacteristic of them, really.
He phased a prone SHIELD agent’s body armor into the sidewalk and pivoted to punch another in the face, bypassing their helmet and face-shield.  Come to think of it, were the ones wearing armor and combat gear agents, or were those just the ones in suits?  Not that it particularly mattered.  His job right now was just to keep anyone from getting killed.  A task that would get exponentially harder once SHIELD’s backup got here.
“Why,” he asked Loki, when the rhythm of the fight allowed it, “are we still here?”
Yes, technically the answer was ‘we haven’t gotten Barton’s signal yet’ and, yes, he knew the real answer was probably ‘self-sabotage’ of one kind or another, but keeping everyone alive was a strain, if not on his abilities, then on his focus and attention.  There was Loki, Loki’s various minions, SHIELD, the police, random people still inside the nearby building – It was a wonder the GIW hadn’t shown up, and Valerie and his parents would be here before too much longer.  Not to mention—
“Phantom!”
There was a slight pause in the gunfire.
Danny looked up to see Valerie Gray, Iron Man a growing red streak in the sky behind her.  His secret identity had been a very secondary concern since Loki snatched him, a lost cause, really, considering this fight, but the only way Valerie would have gotten the memo this fast was if someone told her.
… Maybe Danny would pretend to be mind-controlled a little longer than strictly necessary, for the purpose of punching a certain few SHIELD personnel.  Namely, Fury and Coulson.  He felt like he deserved it.  As a treat.
“Hi, Red?” tried Danny, knowing that he was just trying to delay the inevitable.
“What,” demanded Valerie, calling up her biggest gun, “do you think you’re doing?”
“We need to leave, now,” said Danny.
Loki grinned.  “But the fun’s just getting started!”  He multiplied himself, which was the ‘we’re leaving’ signal, and Danny disappeared.
Valerie fired the gun, which was honestly really unfriendly of her.  What had SHIELD been telling her?
Finding the real Loki was easy.  Danny had experience at this point, and a touch was all it took to make him invisible and intangible, too.
“Do you think Barton’s gotten what we need?” asked Loki, airily.
“I think Barton’s been caught,” said Danny, flatly.  “If we came to draw out my parents, it hasn’t worked, and the only reason I can think of why it wouldn’t work is if they got distracted by something else.”
“Like Barton breaking in prematurely.”
“Yeah.”
“Pity.  I suppose we’ll have to—”
And this is where Danny was revealed as just as self-sabotaging as Loki, because he had neglected to remember that Valerie’s equipment could pick him up while invisible.  Unfortunately, the fact that he did know that combined with his sharp reflexes meant that he was able to shield himself and Loki from the blast.
“Oi!  Red riding hood, can you see them in all this?”
“What did you just call me?”
And there was Iron Man.  Lovely.
“Red, can you point me at them or not?”
“Come on,” said Danny, tugging on Loki’s elbow.
“But this is entertaining.”
“It’ll be a lot less entertaining when your brother and Captain America get here.”
“Oh, very well.  We’ll go.  To Fentonworks.”
“Oh, come on—”
The sandstorm blindsided them, literally and figuratively, the heat of cutting through Danny despite his intangibility.
“WHEN I FIND LANCE THUNDER,” shouted Tucker, voice supernaturally loud and deep, “I’M GOING TO KILL HIM.  HE KNOWS HOW MANY DIFFERENT PARK AND AMITYS THERE ARE!”
Ah.  Heck.  Duulaman.  Why did Tucker have Duulaman’s scepter?  Were they trying to solve mind control with different mind control?  That was a terrible idea.
… But admittedly about on par with Danny’s current plan.  Darn it.  There really weren’t a lot of better options out there.
“Oh,” said Loki, “I didn’t know there were any humans who still practiced the arcane arts!”
“Uh huh,” said Danny, pulling on his core to cool the air around them and gritting his teeth.  “That’s Tucker for you.  This is going to be fun.”
“And by fun you mean…?”
“Absolutely miserable.  You’d better hope you’re as good at magic as you think you are.”
“He hasn’t seen us yet.”
Sand swirled around them and deposited them on top of a sand dune directly in the middle of the Park and Amity crossing.  A few of the SHIELD vans had turned to stone, and others were slowly dissolving into sand.
Tucker was still, mostly, in his normal clothes, but gold bangles were wrapping themselves around his right arm and his beret was looking awfully Nemes-like.  His eyes glittered red, accentuated by kohl.
The scarab jewel on the end of the scepter flashed, and Danny felt a tug on his mind.
.
“How dare you,” hissed Loki, reasserting his control of Phantom with a twist of his staff.
“How dare you,” snapped the dark-skinned boy.  “He’s mine.  He was mine first, and you have no right to him!”
“I have every right!  I am a god, you pathetic sorcerer!”  Loki called on his magic, and on Phantom’s blanketing the sand with ice.
“You?” sneered the boy, tilting his chin up.  “You think you are a god?  I am Nebmaatre Djedamun, called Duulaman!  I am the Son of Ra!  The Son of the Sun!  I have lived and walked through the Duat and returned, as Osiris!  Who are you, foreigner, to take what is mine?”
The ice beneath Loki began to steam, and the sun burned down from directly overhead, a position it should not be in under any circumstances at this latitude on Earth.
So.  That was how it was going to be, was it?
“I am Loki Laufeyson, god of mischief and rightful king of Asgard.”  He bared his teeth and called up his armor, scepter growing into a full staff, the false sand desert morphing into an equally false vista of ice.  “Let’s see if you’re worth my time.  Human.”
 .
It turned out that extended desert-based trauma and resultant obsessive sand-proofing of technology was good for something.  That something was freak sandstorms caused by strangely glow-y teenagers.  Who knew.  Not Tony, that was for sure.
“Hey, Red, you okay?”
“I’m fine,” hissed the girl – and Tony really had to have words about whoever was setting SHIELD policy regarding the recruitment of teenagers, planetary threat or not – doing something that had her hoverboard zooming back to her, shedding sand as it went.
“Great,” said Tony, “you know this new guy?”
Red was silent, and Tony wished he could see her face through the tinted visor of her suit.  “I know the kid, not the ghost possessing him.  I’ve never seen any of them use sand like this before.”  She looked up.  “Or the sun.”
Yeah, whatever was going on with the sky was throwing Tony for a loop.  Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, yadda, yadda, yadda, like he hadn’t heard that spewed in his direction a few hundred times.  Thor made him believe it a little more, though.  There had to be some explanation behind all the freaky stuff he could do.
The sand was abruptly replaced by a blizzard, and Tony pulled the girl to the roof of one of the buildings just in time for the river to melt into a gleaming river, its banks thick with reeds and flowers.  The river rose out of its bed, sporting fangs and scales, eyes sharply green.  Sand sizzled against its clawed feet and the plants wilted and burned.  The good thing was, there didn’t seem to be any actual people down there, beyond Loki, Fenton, and the new kid.
The possessed new kid.  More mind control.  Just what they needed.
“Any way to un-possess someone?”
“Shoot them with one of these,” said Red, lifting a gun Tony was pretty sure she hadn’t had before.  He had no idea where she had gotten it from.  Neat.
He reached for it.
“Nuh uh,” said Red.  “This stays with me.”
“Okay, little Red, I don’t know if you’ve noticed—"
“Here’s how this’s gonna go,” Red interrupted him.  “I’m going to go take down Phantom while those two are distracted with each other.  You cover me.  Once I’ve got Phantom, I’ll shoot the ghost in Tucker out, and you and SHIELD have a clean shot at Lorry or whatever.”
“And I’ll be way better at covering you if I have a weapon that can actually do damage to these guys.”
“I don’t have time to argue with a stupid billionaire—”
The building they were standing on turned into a sphinx, and moved, dumping them at its feet.  It leaned close and growled, eyes glowing.  Both Tony and Red fired at it, their weapons leaving craters on its face.  It only made it flinch.
Then lightning cleaved the sky.
“It’s about time!” shouted Tony, ignoring Jarvis’s comment about the rising temperature of the sand for the moment.
Thor jumped up on the rubble that had been the sphinx and shrugged.  “The directions were very confusing, and there is strange sorcery on this place!”
“No kidding!  Where’s capsicle?”
“Captain Rogers was taking the plane with the Widow!”
Next to him, Red started to move again.  “You’re not a ghost,” she said.
“Yeah, he’s an alien, get with the program.  Are you sure you can take care of Fenton?”
If Tony hadn’t been looking for it, he wouldn’t have caught the split-second hesitation.
“I’ve fought him before,” said Red.
That didn’t mean anything by itself.  Tony had frequently fought gravity, the ground, and chemistry during pre-horrible-kidnapping benders.  That didn’t mean he’d ever had any chance of winning.  Still, he supposed they had to take it.  There weren’t any other options.
“Come on, Red, you know I was always holding back.”
Feeling like he was in a cheap horror movie, Tony looked to the right to see Danny Fenton.
.
Delight was almost certainly the wrong emotion to be experiencing at the moment, but Danny wasn’t exactly in what he’d describe as a proper state of mind.  Besides, Tucker’s giant lens was really cool.  Danny hadn’t known that a lens made out of illusions could focus light like that, but it was logical enough.  Most illusions probably were just bending light, at their base.  Although why he was going through the steps of creating a false sun, the fake lens, and aiming, Danny didn’t know.  Wouldn’t it be easier to just create lasers or something like that to begin with?
“There is something wrong with the people on this planet,” hissed Loki, ripping the lens to shreds before it could melt through Danny’s ice shield.
“Well, yeah,” said Danny.  “But I’m not sure you can generalize what’s wrong with Tucker to the rest of the planet.”  He leaned as heavily into his ice powers as he dared in human form, which was actually quite far, and used telekinesis to bat away a pair of animate statues.
Arctic cold and equatorial heat pushed together in the air, swirling into clouds.  Lightning forked from the sky.  Danny caught a bolt and swung it to the side, glassing the sand under him.
Tucker was looking up at the sky, teeth barred.  “Who dares strike against my people?”
Oh, Tucker really was a great friend.  But fighting Thor really wasn’t a good idea—Assuming the lightning was Thor arriving, and not a random weather phenomenon caused by three people with superpowers playing with the laws of physics.
Good distraction, though.
Danny appreciated what Tucker was—Well.  What he assumed Tucker was trying to do, underneath the past life personality takeover.  Rescue him, and all.  But Danny did have his orders.
Loki’s mind control and Tucker’s were different.  Loki’s was focused and direct, while Tucker’s diffused like dust on the air, subtle but insistent.  Loki’s staff was of this world, powered by something native to this part of the universe.  Duulaman’s was laced with ghost magic.  Loki’s drew on something primal, something that brushed at some fundamental force Danny could only guess at.  Duulaman’s control was woven, carefully, from ancient spells layered on one another like steel folded over and over.
Tucker’s pull on Danny’s mind wasn’t negligible, but Loki’s control of Danny was stronger.
Also, this couldn’t possibly be healthy for Tucker.
“Tucker!” shouted Danny, over the howling wind.  “Snap out of it!  Don’t let Duulaman make you do this!”
The expression on Tucker’s face was offended and incredulous.  Danny would have liked to laugh but the fate of the world was at stake here.
“That’s what I want to say to you, idiot!”
“Hey, I’m not doing this willingly!  Why do you even have that?  You know what it does to you!”
“Forgive me for wanting to get the big guns when my best friend is shanghaied to lead an alien invasion!”
“Don’t be ridiculous, I’m not leading it, that’s all him!”  He gestured behind him in Loki’s general direction.
Oh, and there was Thor.  And Iron Man.  And Val.  Oh, they really did have to get out of here.  Danny didn’t think he could handle all this while still in human form.  They looked like they were having some sort of planning session over by the sphinx, but he didn’t think that would last all that long.  On the other hand, it looked like Loki was sneaking up on them, so that was about to become very interesting.
The sensation Danny was coming to associate with Duulaman’s magic spiked as Tucker tightened his grip on the staff.  “His arrow minion shot Jazz.”
Danny froze.  “Is she okay?”
“She’s not bleeding to death, if that’s what you mean,” said Tucker.
Danny expanded the list of SHIELD agents he wanted to hit to include Barton.  He probably wouldn’t hit him, given the mind control, but he wanted to.
“Look,” said Danny.  “I do have a plan.”  One that was, admittedly, falling apart rapidly.
“Which you haven’t told us beyond trying to use us for shopping!”
The influence of Tucker’s magic on Danny wasn’t as strong as Loki’s.  But that didn’t mean it was nothing.
Danny gritted his teeth.  “That’s because the stuff wasn’t for me to use, it’s for you.”
And then Tucker was hit by one of Iron Man’s repulsor bursts.
.
In Tony’s defense, he still wasn’t used to the illusion thing, and he wasn’t the only one who had fallen for the fake Fenton.  He hadn’t meant to hit the kid with the staff, and given a few minutes out of battle, he’d probably feel bad about it.
He also hadn’t realized how angry Fenton would get about it.
The boy’s body flickered and his eyes started to glow with a radioactive light even as the rest of him seemed to fade into shadow.  The air got cold and heavy.
And then the quinjet arrived, laying down cover fire between Phantom and Tony.  The feeling vanished as Fenton threw up a shield, protecting himself and Loki.
And then, because the day just had to get weirder, a blimp with Jack Fenton’s face on it showed up and started shooting at the quinjet.
And then an absolute monstrosity of a vehicle, an unholy cross between an RV and a tank, barreled over the top of a nearby dune and started blasting everyone.
Between defending himself and trying to keep the poor unconscious kid from getting shot again, Tony was just barely able to see Phantom grab Loki’s arm and phase into the ground.  What he wouldn’t give to be able to get out of stupid situations so easily.
Finally, proving that the only god of this world or the next was Murphy, a green-tinged energy bolt went wide, soaring over the sand, the ice, and several streets’ worth of intact buildings to ping off the bottom of the helicarrier and somehow short out all the camouflage panels.
The fighting stopped as the blimp turned into a jet and zoomed – complete with sound effect – away, and the Fentons seemed to realize who they were firing at.
A blond civilian Tony had somehow missed in the chaos staggered into view, followed by a bedraggled cameraman.  “Yes!” he said, hands raised in jubilation.  “Yes!  Now this is some freak weather, baby!  Do you know how long it’s been since I’ve been able to report on the weather?  This is the best day I’ve had all week!”
Before Tony had any time to process that, Maddie Fenton got out of the Monstrosity (which was quickly becoming capitalized in Tony’s head), calmly walked over, and slapped the man across the face.  She grabbed his shirt and pulled him down to her level.  “Do you have any idea how many Parks and Amitys there are in this town?”

Danny Phantom Randomness (Desolation)
I just had an interesting thought. To give you a bit of context, in my fanfic “Nowhere To Run” I had Vlad and Danny confront a lot of their personal issues with one another, especially Vlad after he went too far with the cloning incident. Danny’s a tough kid but everyone has their limits as far as how much they’re willing to put up with.
Tumblr media
So here’s my thought, what if after the events of TUE Danny becomes extra paranoid of losing his friends and family? For example, when Vlad tries to make Jazz and Danny fight he straight up refuses to instead of putting on an act. This obviously confuses Vlad who has never seen Danny like that and Jazz for once is at a loss for what to do since Vlad injected her with nanobots and legit threatened to “waste her” if she betrayed him, meaning she probably HAS to fight Danny.
Danny seriously loses his cool and goes straight to attacking Vlad so violently to make him turn off the nanobots and ghost shield that for the first time he’s getting a small taste of exactly what Danny’s capable of once he stops holding back. This makes Vlad stop to think about what could have possibly made Danny react like that. Was this just his usual teen angst and raging hormones, or the result of one too many ghost fights giving Danny some serious emotional trauma?
Skipping forward to when Vlad infects Sam and Tucker with ecto-acne, Danny loses it again and doesn’t even try to play nice in front of his parents. He grabs Vlad by the collar of his shirt and threatens Vlad, saying that if ANYTHING happens to them...he’ll kill him. Vlad of course just writes it off as Danny being dramatic since he knows he’ll save them all anyway. And this time, Danny doesn’t screw up the timeline to make sure Vlad doesn’t get his ghost powers since he’s already seen the damage something like that can do.
What finally makes Danny snap is when Vlad kidnaps and tortures him to get a mid-morph sample. He’s had enough. And so, one day Danny goes to confront Vlad and it goes something like this:
After Danny calls Vlad out on how evil he’s become, like a spoiled brat Vlad tries to excuse his actions with the whole “Jack Fenton ruined my life” bit to which Danny responds coldly. “No he didn’t Vlad. It was an accident but you CHOSE to use your powers for selfish reasons. You chose to be my enemy. We could have been friends at least, but no.
“The truth is, Vlad, you don’t know HOW to love anyone. If you did, you wouldn’t do things like this. You wouldn’t threaten the lives of my friends and family or reject someone who genuinely loved you! Dani LOVED you, and you threw that all away because of your stupid obsession with the perfect half-ghost son. Well news flash Vlad, I’ve SEEN how it ends once you get what you think you want...
“In a timeline where I actually lost everything and had to come live with you, you destroyed that too. You destroyed what was left of me and the entire world paid the price for your selfishness. You think my dad ruined your life but that’s where you’re wrong, you did that. You destroy everything you touch which means...the only way to make sure you never turn me into that monster is to become it on my own terms so that I’m the only one who has to live with the guilt. Because I’d rather die a hero...then live long enough to see myself become a worse villain than you.”
After that, Danny goes all out and stops pulling his punches. They duke it out in a seriously intense battle and after Danny comes out on top, but only just, Danny tells Vlad that if he EVER crosses the line again it’s over. No second chances. No mercy. Because Vlad was slowly turning into a real monster, not just some cartoon villain and Danny’s not willing to risk the fate of the world or the safety of his friends and family on sparing the life of a self-centered jerk who keeps saying all he wants is love but then ends up doing things to make Danny hate him more and more as time passes.
So, Vlad has a choice to make.
He can either keep going on like this, pushing Danny away completely.
Or, Vlad can stop and take a long hard look at his life and realize Danny’s right. This has to end before its too late and any chance they might have to become anything more than enemies is gone forever.
Even if Vlad can’t be Danny’s father...he can at least become a mentor which is better than nothing and means he won’t be alone anymore. Then the two of them can have at least one person around who understands them better than anyone else in their lives. Heck, even agreeing to a truce would be a huge improvement...
Anyways, just had to get this idea out of my system. Hope you liked it!

Seras is a strong female character. And I don’t mean that because she can punch and shoot shit. That’s all well and good but it’s a true measure of her strength to go through the awful things she’s done as a person and still be a kind person. She’s almost stronger than alucard because alucard let himself be warped into a violent sadistic psychopath.
One of the many reasons why I love this anime was because of Seras' character.
I'm not going to lie, when I first watched it I tended to overlook her character arc in favour of Alucard and Integra (I was a little fanatic. Not that I am not nowadays but back then I was much wilder about it).
But I was still 12-13 at that time so there was room of some cognitive development :} The more I approached adulthood, the more I came to appreciate her character (alongside Pip!! never forget my cute fr*nch man!!)
From the very beginning in her life, she came face to face with some shitty things, ending up an orphan. And that's where I want to stay for a bit!
One of the earliest differences that not so many people point out between Seras and Alucard was that: When Alucard was met with the evil of the world, he let it consume him and turn him into a shell of his former self (since according to the anime he was vlad tepes) When Seras was met with the evil of the world, she actively tried to find ways to correct it (hence the police academy) and keep her innocence as intact as possible (but with awareness of course!)
One thing Hirano did correctly with her character was that: she was aware of what was going on but, she did not allow it to bring her down (contrary to Alucard who was Mr. Misery all the time). Yes, there are evil people in the world who want to bring it down. Yes, not everything is about sunshine and happiness.
But she still will wear her favourite pink shirt, go out with her fr*nch man on her mission, and put on her best smile. She will live her undead life the best she can. She will keep fighting.
Tumblr media
Hence why Alucard saved her. Because he saw the potential in her :}}
That's why the parallelism between her final moments before Alucard turning her into a vampire, and his final moments during his fight with Anderson are so emotionally packed. Because it shows a spectrum in which they both fall in.
Traumatised, lost, tired, desiring to give up (momentarily). But everyone is in need of a helping hand from time to time. And they both took it (for different reasons). But the key word was "reason". Seras always had a reason. Alucard forgot it for some time, hence his search for the "human to kill the monster". But he had a master at home for whom he should return back to, and a servant to lead and protect. She reminded him the reason why he should keep fighting back.
Because he was not alone.
Tumblr media
Also because giving headpats to Seras must feel as if petting 1000 golden retrievers at once. No one can resist her cuteness. Not even Mr. Moustache man :P (or at least that's what I want to do with her cutie pie face >:33)

did i send this already i think i did but if i did delete this ask lol
1,13 and 14
once again sorry if i already sent this my brain is playing tricks on me rn
Hehehe tumblr having its usual I already answered the first one! Two times a charm!
1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get
SakuSasu & Naruhina: ugh TERRIBLE im sorry but naruto and sakura actually had more chemistry
Sherlock x Irene: tbh irene works so much better as some random lady who just happens to outsmart Holmes instead of being reduced to his girlfriend
Olivia x Basil: another Sherlock related one but I don't get this one at all bc he knew her from she was a little girl and he a grown man 😬 just make some damn OCs
Cheating but this involves my OC... Gwynn and Artie while Gwynn is technically guinevere, she's considerably older than Artie and sees him as a little brother. And Artie wouldn't gel well with her rebellious nature. Also Charming x Rapunzel (shrek version) boring as shit lol
13. Unpopular opinion about XXX character
The human villains in TFA are overhated, and not that useless since they're meant to be jokes AND a credible threat for the Autobots to gain experience fighting. Not everyone needs to be deep some ppl enjoy being chaotic and evil for the hell of it XD
Another TFA thing but i think people take the uwu Optimus takes a bit too seriously like we KNOW he's more than that we just want him to realize he's worth more than being someone else's punching bag
Vlad's crush on Maddie was the least interesting part of his character & I hope future works do away with this entirely
SECOND OC CHEAT but some of my self inserts are just that. They're for fun and doesn't need deep complex lore in order to be good. Sometimes i just wanna imagine myself riding the thigh of a fictional man. 🤷
14. Unpopular opinion about your fandom
Doll twt seems to care more about controversy than actually appreciating dolls and it SUCKS
The hate towards human characters in both sonic and TF fandom is more obnoxious than the humans themselves!
Cookie run related but people have a right to criticize how rushed Dark Choco's redemption arc is they're also allowed to criticize the problematic aspects like Lilac Cookie's design
THIRD OC CHEAT but I think if Gwynn and Rhodanthe were canon the shrek fandom would eat them RIGHT UP in a good way

This may be a minor gripe but something that has kind of bothered me about discussions and depictions of Dan is how often people seem to forget that Dan isn't just an older evil Danny, he's a combination of Danny and Vlad's ghost sides. Like people always talk about him like Danny threw away his humanity and turned evil but that's not even true. Sure, we can say that Dan is the result of Danny's action but that's a little unfair. (1/2)
(2/2) Him cheating on a test, coincidentally putting his loved one's in a position where they could be killed, is absolutely not his fault. Letting Vlad take away his ghost powers with a strange contraption might not have been the smartest move, but we are talking about a grieving CHILD here, of course he isn't going to make the best decisions. If anything Vlad's the one to blame here, and even then, it's not like he could predict what happened
---
you aren't wrong, my friend. it really isn't entirely danny's fault and the whole 'if you cheat on a test, you'll loose everything you love' moral is confused at best. i think as fandom we find it more interesting to look at danny's potential evil and moral struggle with himself. so simplifying it to be dan is a worse case scenario of danny makes the conflict less abstract.
particularly because when it comes to self blame danny isn't going to go easy on himself just because it was excusable mistakes.
i think another talking point should be how danny is the target of the time assassination more than vlad is, even though vlad is part of the evil whole. you could argue that danny is the catalyst of his friends death and vlad inventing the claw things. but vlad invented the claw things. maybe because his human side survived and acted relatively harmless from then on? or maybe it's because the observants based on the available evidence recognized danny as more of a threat. i think that fits actually, for all vlad tried to be an evil mastermind, his achievements outside of terrorizing a teenager and theft isn't particularly impressive. danny was the one who got shit done. all his fights he finished one way or another and i could see how that would bleed into dan defeating everyone.
the real question is how to we fix this. ideally we could shape this idea so it's less confused, though i do honestly find the dynamic of half danny, half vlad interesting. if for not other reason. than two half ghosts make a whole. actually that's something else to be said about dan. his self-loathing is what led him to killing his human half, another negative aspect coming from danny.
i wonder if we could frame it like fusion, from su. obviously dan isn't stable or healthy, or based on love. he's most comparable to malichite. but with less internal debate. dan took the best and worst of both of them. danny's determination, danny's fighting ability, danny's anger, danny's sarcasm, vlad's anger, vlads lack of morals, vlads schemes, vlad's control. heck, vlads desire to rule the world. i don't think we ever got that from danny.
maybe if vlad was more involved in the fight with dan it could have been used as an opportunity to compare and contrast their characters. to go we're not so different you and i. danny gets to recognize that he has that dark potential. vlad gets to be humbled by the fact that what he wants isn't good for anyone, especially himself. and to be fair, we do see some of that humbling with future vlad, but none of that character growth is given to present vlad, so, really it's just another vehicle for danny angst. it also depends on what you want to do with vlad though. he's a fascinating character and could be given redemption under the right circumstances or be a character who has the opportunity for redemption but chooses not to be redeemed every time.
that fits him and makes him both a more pathetic and despicable villain. it's hard to pity someone who ignores the opportunities to heal and grow.
as for danny, he becomes far more aware of the consequences his actions, especially his selfish and cruel ones can have. because that potential was always there. he has a history of abusing his powers. perhaps for this specific incident him abusing his powers can be something less understandable than almost cheating on a test that he couldn't study for through no fault of his own. (maybe i just have flexible morals?). maybe it could be something more character relevant, like he did something particularly vlad like, maybe he set up a prank at the nasty burger to get dash but it set off the explosion that killed his family. or maybe he did something particularly cruel and manipulative. there are better catalysts than a test. either way he recognized that he should never go that far again and strive to avoid being actively cruel.
he also has the opportunity to recognize that vlad does have a human half, even the one he's fighting everyday. he can face some conflict in it's not entirely clear what trait belongs to vlad and what trait belongs to him. he can empathize with vlad and he can recognize that situations aren't always in black in white. those who fly the highest, fall the hardest, after all.
it can be a growing experience. and while making it solely a danny goes bad and learns not to do evil kind of story. maybe we could cut vlad from the equation and just have danny face himself, full evil refection. i think exploring both vlad and danny through this fusion is far more interesting. especially because we can build on what's revealed about vlad in these episodes, in later ones. danny sees a future where vlad chills and that maybe his vlad could get their. later he see vlads past and what he lost to become who he is.
and then there's vlads turning point episodes. i don't know when motherly instinct took place but maddie fully recognizing he's a bastard and rejection him, was a turning point for his sanity, and danny helped it along. then we have danny rejecting him repeatedly, then we the clone episode, which we can all agree was a desperate move on his part, that danny once again thwarted. and we can all agree that this was the cannon turning point for his character where he stopped fighting for a family and started trying to be danny's villain. in that episode, i think danny could potentially pity vlad enough to try and reach out. he's not going to justify what vlad did and he's not going to apologize for stopping him. he went too far. he hurt danny and dani, he crossed a moral line that can't be justified even with his desperation. but if he changes...
he lost this time but if he changes, maybe they'll reach the point where they're ready to accept him.
i think the same thing could be said about his relationship with jack and maddie. if he changes, if he reaches out. if acts like less of a crazy fruitloop, his friends would be there for him. jack is still trying to be there for him, even if he's being oblivious about vlad's faults. vlads the one driving wedges into his relationships and pushing everyone away.
and that's so freaking human and understandable.it would be such a cool thing to explore with his character.
i could also see a potential arc where after valerie finds out vlad and masters are the same person she tries to get close to him, both to sus out how evil he is and to understand him as a halfa. afterall danny got her to acknowledge dani as human enough, the same would apply to vlad/plasmius, right? only he's a bad person and the more she uncovers about vlad masters the man, the more she realizes it's not the ghost half that's evil. but this is a double edged sword because, vlad is getting attached to her and encouraging her to be more evil. he's encouraging her to go darker and darker in her fight against ghosts and her fight specifically against phantom. to the point where she finally draws the line and says, i'm not doing that! boom exploring the moral ambiguity of her character and getting her to take a hard stance on her morals, because there's a line too far for her.
and boom a further breakdown of vlads character because he finally had someone outside the fentons to redeem him. she could have helped pull him out of the hole he'd been digging himself into. she wanted to help him. he got attached to her, but he and his bad decisions decided to dig himself deeper instead. so once again he's 'abandoned and betrayed'.
from that point, i think it'd be time for him to finally face jack head on. not through manipulative schemes. not through veiled threats and insults. but the full confrontation of 'i always hated you. you ruined my life. you're the reason i lost everything'. which is really just his own self loathing speaking. and jack... empathetic jack can see that vlad desperately wants help. and jack would offer it to him. jack would try to hug it out and apologize and give vlad the love and friendship vlad's been fighting to steal this whole time.
and vlad would reject it.
he'd probably lash out a jack and go into a full breakdown/world destroying attack. could finally put the stolen crown to use and try declaring himself king and embracing his megalomaniac thing and actually be a threat this time. and THAT would be our series finally. everyone teaming up to fight 'king vlad'. danny probably finding out that he's technically king because he beat pariah dark but the matter being a bit confused because he had help. val and danny trying to find the ring of rage or at least find someone who can make one. secrets are out. i imagine vlad, upon revealing himself to jack would out danny to make danny as sad and alone as him. except nope, his family still loves him and val has had the character development to come around to him. (she's still gonna punch danny for lying for so long.) the ghosts will come and help because no one wants another tyrannical kind and vlads obviously off his rocker.
ah, the could have beens
anyway, i didn't mean for this to become a full vlad character analysis and rewrite when we were supposed to be talking about dan, but hey, i'm a simple creature. i like good writing, and i have to rewrite things myself, so be it. - Hestia

Come here, we need some soft content after all the angst happening with the League:
Kurogiri likes bees and he turns into a beekeeper. He buys a house some time away from the city, where he can be at peace.
Mr. Compress let's Toga decorate his prosthesis with stickers. They clean it after certain time so she can decorate it all over again.
Spinner teaches Tomura how to drive every Friday in an empty parking lot. The kids from class 1-A take turns going with them and they record the whole thing. People is really into that, specially when they get Bakugo screaming at both of them for being terrible at driving. After every session, Tomura buys them ice-cream and they sit around while he asks what have they been doing at UA.
Dabi goes with Natsuo when he decides to get his first tattoo. Actually, they end up getting matching tattoos as a promise to never get apart again. Shoto wants one two but Fuyumi is making him wait until he's 21 years old.
Eri once sees Toga smiling and she goes to hug her, telling her that crying is okay too. Everyone goes deadly quiet as Toga suddenly cries a little, hugging Eri back. The girl who can't smile is smiling and the girl who can't cry is crying. And they're doing it because they're happy.
Dabi and Shoto take turns mocking Bakugo while Shigaraki and Deku take turns defending him. Which is really funny because them you have Toga and Uraraka pointing out which team is winning.
Bakugo gets to punch everyone at least once. At least people stop him before he goes against Toga and Uraraka. That'd be a hell of a fight.
The girls at class 1a and class 1b adore Toga and they always invite her when they're going out. Tomura drives her to the place and gives her money to buy ice-cream.
Speaking of which: have you ever thought about Kirishima punching Dabi and Shigaraki just once for kidnapping Bakugo and then going "okay, and now let's hug".
Spinner is like a big brother for the whole class 1b. They are always calling him for advice and help. Once they all decided to cosplay him for Halloween and he almost cried.
Hatsume gets all excited when Compress asks her if she can do a prosthesis for him. He let's the kids at UA create him support tech that he tests. He finds it pretty funny.
Eri tests her power on Dabi every few moths to keep his body from going worst. He messes her hair every time, pointing out how cool is her horn. She reminds him a lot of Tomura and that makes him a little nostalgic.
They find pics of Tomura as a kid by pure luck. He's with his sister and his mother and his grandparents, his father taking the photo. They also find the photo of Nana with Kotaro. Tomura let's All Might keep that one.
When Tomura first meets Momo it hits him how much she reminds him of Hana. He's ashamed at first but eventually he tells the class about his sister. The girls are nicer to him after that and so are the boys.
Rei invites Toga and Tomura for dinner every few weeks. Toga and Shoto are somehow friends, because they can rant about Deku and not understanding people. Since the first meeting, Natsuo became sort of friends with Tomura because they are the same age.
Natsuo invites Tomura to sport games and to the cinema sometimes and Fuyumi worries, but after some time she realizes Dabi is right. Tomura is not a danger to Natsuo.
Spinner joins them after a while. They are not like a crazy trio ranting about sports and movies. Spinner even finds a way to take Natsuo to the gym with him and now they train together.
Tomura and Dabi sometimes disappear together at night. They're on the roof, watching the stars. Those nights when they're feeling raw and violent, they prefer to go with Kurogiri and stay there for some time. Those days are hard, specially because it's easy to miss the friends that did not make it out alive, but they have each other and they hold tight together.
Mr. Compress helps the following years with the cultural festival. Everything is colorful and dramatic and lovely. He is like the special guest. Kurogiri visits the city those days.
Inko finds herself protecting Tomura more than once, mothering him about his scratching and scars. He's constantly eating with the Midoriyas.
Toga and Monoma become besties and no one knows who that happened. She spents a lot of time around class 1b. She also teaches Shinso how to become invisible. Present Mic gets kinda nervous but Aizawa finds it interesting. Well, that kid stabbed him once, she's good. Shinso can learn a bunch from her.
Kurogiri starts helping Fuyumi with teaching kids somehow too. He's really patient and kids adore to play around with his misty form. Fuyumi finds him reliable and responsible. Who would guess they'd find comfort in each other.
Tensei, Iida's brother, gets help from Natsuo with his therapy. Iida and Deku get Melissa Shield to help him with new tech support. He finds a way to work as a minor hero again, and he trains a lot with Compress, both of them trying to regain more mobility.
The best day of Tomura's life is when Stain recognizes he was right. Also? Iida and Tomura bonding over hating Stain? Think about the possibilities.
Tomura teaches Uraraka how to win money online playing games. She's AMAZING at that. Dabi and Shoto secretly gives her a lot of money on her streams. Dabi because he can waste Enji's money and Shoto for the same reason, plus she's her friend.
Tsuyu and Spinner bonding over the stress of their friends being morons. Also they enjoy each other's company a lot.
Dabi and Denki and Cami speaking in memes and only Present Mic is able to translate.
Tomura and Uraraka bonding over not being able to touch things with all their fingers.
Dabi and Sero doing pranks with Sero's tape.
Dabi is definitely a bad influence for class 1a. And even a wrost influence for class 1b.
Tomura is not better but at least he teaches them important stuff.
Dabi will deny to his death that he likes those kids. Tomura teases him constantly.
Toga has a secret account to post stuff about Tomura and Dabi and how they are secretly in love. Class 1a and class 1b join. Soon they're losing their shit all the time around them and they both are angry because they don't know what's happening.
And then class 1b makes it a competition because they ship Spinner and Shigaraki better. It is a naive game, Tomura can't be mad because it's really chaotic, but he asks them eventually to tone it down because they're crossing some limits.
Dabi and Spinner are clueless.
Kurogiri says he ships Tomura with happiness when they ask him.
Then proceeds to say he adores Spinner.
Shoto gets insulted in behalf of his brother and he gets Compress to say he prefers Shigaraki with Dabi.
When they officially asks Shigaraki, he send the meme of "Both? Both. Both is good". Next day Vlad King and Aizawa has to endlessly ask them to stop laughing in class. Specially when Tomura walks in wirh the biggest smirk ever.
AND THIS IS GOING TOO FAR. OMG. SORRY FOR WRITING SO MUCH. I GOT EXCITED.

Dark Danny Should’ve Come Back at Least Once
I think most of the Phandom can agree that The Ultimate Enemy was one of the best Danny Phantom episodes ever made, and for good reason. It was incredibly dark of a kid’s cartoon, especially one made by Bitch Hartman, and on top of that, it provided some very interesting lore and characters. We get to see Danny pushed to his absolute emotional limit in a way that I don’t think the show ever did before, save maybe for My Brother’s Keeper in season 1, and we get our first glimpse at Clockwork, who thanks to @five-rivers fanfic Mortified, has become one of my favorite DP characters. And of course, we get to see Dark Danny, or Dan.
But there’s one little thing about this episode that’s always bothered me: the very ending.
Because at the very end of TUE, we get a shot of the Fenton thermos that Dan is sealed away in rocking back and forth, before Dan’s face forms a massive dent in the side, his laughter echoing as the screen fades to the end credits.
You would think, with an ending like that, that Dan would come back in a later episode. That he would return in the series finale is this last big bad, this final demon for Danny to confront once and for all.
But that’s not what happens. And it kinda pisses me off.
Dan should’ve come back. We should have gotten at least one more episode with this guy, exploring more of his character, more of his side of the story, anything at all. And you know what would be a great way to do this?
Vlad.
Imagine this, if you will.
Dan makes his escape from Clockwork’s lair, dead set on finishing what he started. Eventually, he discovers Vlad’s portal (let’s say that Vlad decided to rebuild his here) and, upon coming face to face with the man who made him like this in the first place, freaks out. Dan makes an attempt on Vlad’s life, and Vlad just barely manages to escape.
Once Vlad is sure this strange new ghost won’t find him so easily, he realizes that this new ghost had Danny’s insignia on his chest, and puts it together that Danny must be involved in this somehow.
So Vlad makes his way to Amity Park to confront Danny about this new ghost. Danny assumes that Vlad is there to try to kill Jack or whatever, the two get into a massive fistfight, before Vlad finally tells Danny that he’s only here because a strange new ghost wearing Danny’s insignia popped out of his portal this morning attempting to kill him a second time.
And Danny freezes. He goes from snarky and flippant to sheer, raw terror that has Vlad actually worried. Danny demands to know what this new ghost looks like, and Vlad’s concern turns to fear when Danny’s face goes white with horror because this is the same kid who went up against Pariah Dark without a second thought, who has faced countless ghosts who’s powers could be considered godly with a fearless smile on his face, and Vlad may not have much respect for Danny but he knows what the kid lacks in intelligence he more than makes up for in bravery.
Meaning that whoever this new ghost is must be incredibly powerful, incredibly horrific, and incredibly dangerous.
Danny tells Vlad to go to Danny’s house and tell them to put the ghost shields surrounding the town up, to not try anything funny, and don’t. Leave. The Shields. No matter what.
For once, Vlad decides to take Danny’s lead. He appears on the Fenton’s doorstep, Armani suit ruffled and hair disheveled, telling them that there is a very powerful ghost making it’s way toward Amity Park and they need to put the ghost shields up now, or risk a Pariah Dark-level threat again.
Then Vlad makes his way toward the edge of town, because he still hasn’t gotten an answer from Danny as to who exactly that ghost was, and he’ll be damned if he can’t get an answer.
Meanwhile, Danny is just outside the ghost shields, waiting for Dan to arrive. He’s absolutely terrified, because what if Danny isn’t strong enough this time? What if he fails again, like he almost did before Clockwork turned back time? Would Clockwork do that for him again? Would he have to watch his future burn down this present that he’s taken so long to keep up?
Then Dan arrives. Right as Vlad makes it to the edge of the shield.
And Vlad watches with awe as the two fight. He watches as Danny holds his own against this ghost that had almost decimated Vlad barely 2 hours prior, watches as Danny outmaneuvers, outsmarts this menace, watches as Danny fights tooth and nail in a way that Vlad is sure he’s never seen before, and he realizes that Danny has been holding back. Maybe not at first, maybe not during those first few months, but definitely for a while now, because Danny is holding his own now when Vlad couldn’t.
But then that leaves the question as to why? Why is Danny going all out now? Why was he so scared of this new ghost? More importantly, when did Danny encounter this guy?
Because he had to have fought this ghost at least once before, to have had that reaction to Vlad’s description.
And then, he hears the other ghost’s voice, one that sounds like a strange mixture of his and Danny’s, and he hears him say “It doesn’t matter what you do, Danny. You might’ve stopped that explosion, but there are still so many other things that lead to me. A car crash, an unlucky ghost attack, the ecto-filtrator, Vlad getting lucky, all of them could still happen. Your friends, your family, all gone, and you still turn into me.”
And suddenly, everything makes sense. That ghost that Danny’s fighting, that ghost that attacked Vlad, that is Danny, or it was, before something twisted him into an unrecognizable monster, and Vlad has a creeping suspicion that it has something to do with him.  And he realizes that Danny is so much more than he ever gave him credit for. He sees Danny, fighting his own future with a hope that Vlad would call naive if not for the fact that Danny had already thwarted whatever horrible future lead to this at least once before, and he understands that he was wrong about Danny.
Because this? Fighting against the personification of all the worst parts of yourself not once, but at least twice? It would require a maturity, a strength of will that Vlad knows he himself lacks, and he comes to the stunning realization that for all the childish quips and petty pranks, Danny is far more mature than Vlad ever was, far stronger than Vlad ever was.
And then, Danny does the ghostly wail.
And if Vlad was surprised before, then he's absolutely terrified now. That’s enough power to destroy an entire city, that single wail, and the sound is a bone-chilling scream that rubs the older halfa wrong in every way possible because that sound should not come from someone as young as Danny.
And now Vlad is caught between two realizations: that Danny is so much stronger than Vlad could ever be in every sense of the word, and that the only reason Danny is that strong is because he has to be, because he’s a child being forced to go against all manner of ghostly and cosmic horror all on his own, and Vlad suddenly feels intensely guilty because he should’ve been helping Danny, and instead he’s done nothing but make his life harder.
At that point, Jack and Maddie arrive. They freak out because Vlad is so close to Phantom and this other extremely powerful ghost, what the hell is he thinking!? And Vlad is trying desperately to get them to leave, because Danny looks exhausted and Vlad might be an ass, but he’s starting his redemption arc now and that means making sure Danny’s secret, and by extension Danny himself, is safe from his parents. Vlad knows what it’s like to be on an examination table, knows how terrifying it is to have doctors looming over you with knives and bright lights while you have no idea what’s going on, and he’ll be damned if he lets Danny (who he again reminds himself is very much still a child) go through that with his own parents.
But it’s too late. Danny detransforms right there on the street, in full view of Jack and Maddie and everyone else who’s gathered there (Dan’s been sucked back in the thermos at this point).
Danny turns around, covered in scratches and burns and bruises, blood in his mouth from where Dan punched him in the lip, left arm hanging in an unnatural angle, and he sees everyone: He sees Vlad, icy blue eyes so similar to Danny’s own filled with uncharacteristic worry.
He sees Sam and Tucker, both with wide, scared eyes, and he can just barely see the faint shimmer of tears gathering in their eyes.
He sees Jazz, face pale and her knuckles white as she grips the Fenton peeler with all her strength.
He sees Valerie, her helmet down and exposing a flurry of emotions ranging from shock to anger to horror to pain.
He sees his mom and dad, clinging to each other as they stare at Danny, at their son, and come to the realization that their son is dead, their son is a ghost and he has been for a while now and how did they never notice? How could they not notice that they had been shooting at their own son for at least a year now, that their boy had been putting his afterlife on the line for them while also trying to keep up with school, and evade capture by the GIW, all at the same time?
And Danny is scared, he’s so scared, because his parents look horrified of him and they think he’s a monster, and they hate him, because why else would they be looking at him like that?
He feels his fathers arms wrapping around him and he’s sure, he’s so sure that they’re about to haul him off to their lab to be pinned down and dissected by his own parents, because they saw Dan, they saw what he would become, they saw what he is now, they know now. But then his mom and dad start apologizing, because they never noticed, and they should’ve, they should’ve seen that Danny’s low grades and missed curfews and skipped classes were because he was putting his life on the line for everyone in this town over and over and over again. They apologize for not making him feel safe in his own house, because how many times did they rant about dissecting their own son right in front of him? How many times had Jack and Maddie shown Danny a dissected blob ghost and effectively told him that he was the next one on the list? How much hell did their own son have to go through on his own, because his own parents couldn’t see what was right there?
And Danny finally realizes that no, he’s not going to end up on a dissection table, that his parents do accept him as he is now.
But there’s still this lingering fear because they don’t know. They don’t know what Danny might turn into, and he can’t keep that from them anymore, because Dan is a secret he can’t keep anymore.
Jack and Maddie are confused when their son pulls away, and for a moment they’re worried that Danny’s upset with them, that he’s angry at them, because why wouldn’t he be?
Then they see this nervousness, they see how he’s shaking and tense, and they might not always be able to read the room that well but they can tell that there’s something else going on here that Danny wants to tell them, even if he’s scared to.
So Jack and Maddie ask Danny if he wants to talk about whatever it is back at the house, and Danny says yes, but Vlad, Sam, Tucker, and Jazz should also be there, because Danny needs some level of support and he knows that Vlad won’t stop pestering him about Dan until he tells him.
Valerie steps in at this point, finally getting over her shock to demand to know what the hells going on, was Danny Phantom the whole time? Who was that other ghost? Why did that other ghost say that Danny would turn into him?
Sam and Tucker, who have been through the emotional wringer watching their best friend fight his evil future self, then reveal his identity to his parents, are kinda pissed at Valerie, because Danny’s already stressed out enough as is, she doesn’t need to be adding on to it. A fight almost breaks out between the three of them, which only stopped when Vlad of all people, steps in saying that while Valerie does have a right to know what’s going on, all of this yelling will do nothing but cause problems.
The three simmer down, and they all head over to the Fenton’s house, where Danny tells them everything: the portal, Pariah Dark (Vlad suddenly finds a particularly interesting spot on the floor), and Dan. He tells them about how Jack, Maddie, Jazz, Sam, and Tucker died in an explosion in that timeline, how that timeline’s Danny turned to Vlad to take him in, how Alt!Danny asked Vlad to remove his human half so he wouldn’t feel that pain anymore. How Alt!Phantom had been driven insane by the separation (he leaves out the part where Phantom fuses with Vlad’s ghost half: he’s not sure Vlad wants him to tell them about his halfa status), killing his human half before destroying most of humanity. How Danny had been forced to fight Dan a year ago, when he had attempted to blow up his friends in family in this timeline to ensure Dan’s recreation here.
When he’s finally done, about an hour and a half later, Danny looks around the room: at Valerie, at Vlad, at his best friends, at his sister, at his parents, and he sees not only acceptance, but respect. Pride. Because they saw that Danny was willing to look his fate in the eye, and say that he would change it no matter what. They saw him fight tooth and nail to protect them, they saw him defend them from his own demons with a bravery most grown adults don’t have, much less a 14 year old boy.
And they accept him.

Twilight
Ectober 12,021, Human Era, ao3
Danny Phantom was a liminal spirit, and just about every ghost who frequently tussled with him knew that the hybrid had developed powerful cryonic abilities when facing off with Undergrowth. They all thought that was the end of that, even Danny himself, a mistake that could be forgiven considering he was only 14 years alive and only a single year dead. When fall rolled around once more and Danny found his hard trained ice powers waning in potency, he grumbled and groaned about at every opportunity. “I was having fun with the ice stuff, guys! I never felt too hot in the summer, I could chill Dash out of the pool whenever I wanted, Technus couldn’t fucking electrocute me through the ice, it was a blast!”
“Plus whenever you were in a room, we weren’t melting from the heat.” Tucker stared at his DS screen, face twisted in focus and determination. “Your slushie experiments were getting weird though.”
“At least now you can come anywhere near my greenhouse again.” Sam had a grin on her face, thumbs flying over her DS just as fast as Tucker.
“That was one time that I froze any of your plants and it was the first day I got the powers, Sam.”
“Now that I know you won’t kill any my plants like a vicious murderer, you can come over and pick a pumpkin. I started growing them when I realized that we’re probably gonna have to deal with the Fright Knight again.”
“Oh yeah, isn’t he free and working with Vlad on something?” There was an explosion from both of their speakers and Tucker shouted in despair, head bowed in defeat while Sam punched the air with a cheer.
“Yeah, we should probably like, look into that, now that I think about it. Vlad was already dangerous enough without something like the Crown of Fire on hand. Let’s go grab those pumpkins!” Danny patted Tucker on the shoulder, hefting him up by his sweater. “Why are you already wearing this, by the way, it’s still so hot out?”
“Mom bought it for me and I gotta wear it at least once right after she gets me something like this, Danny.” Tucker sighed and looked up at Danny, blinking slowly when his eyes caught on a fun new detail. “Dude, did you put a flower in your hair? It’s not a bad look but I didn’t expect that from you.”
“What? No, Tuck, I didn’t do that. Maybe Mom or Jazz did while I was half asleep at breakfast.” Danny ran a hand through his hair and sighed, finding a flower there. When he plucked it out of his hair, though, he winced at the sharp pain he normally felt when someone took a hair out. “Oh crud, why this?”
“What’s wrong? I think it looks nice, the blue and purple blend really well with the black.” Sam took the flower, turning it over in her fingers, and hummed. “I have no clue what it is though. Think you can… tell us why there’s another one in your hair?”
“It felt like yanking my own hair out so I’m gonna guess that grew out of me.” Danny checked to see if anyone was around in the park before morphing into his ghost self. Tucker laughed and Danny ran a hand through his hair again, only to find a crown of flowers growing from his skull, and vines coming up through his suit winding down his shoulders and arms. “Well, shit.”

Eliza!
Hi, jelly here with important question.
How do you feel about the movie Anastasia?
Do you think that villain song is so damn good?
Tumblr media
Jelly I am so sorry I kept this for a few days because I had a brain freeze trying to figure out if I could tell you how much I love this movie!
I played it ALL THE TIME as a youngster. The music, the story, the plot, I loved it!
You know for a while I thought it was a Disney movie because as far as I was concerned at that time every animated movie was a Disney movie and it came in the same case as they did.
But I realize it might've had something to do with the fact that Don Bluth directed and he did a lot of the non Disney movies I watched as a kid (Land Before Time!!) AND he used to work for Disney.
More rambling below the cut! (tumblr deleted some of my stuff and I had to do it over! hjkjlklrhjfbndfnrutu!)
In the opening seeing Anastasias relationship with her grandmother was very special. Then to see Rasputin who has a bit of a Maleficent vibe coming in, and then he sold his soul?! You knew nothing good was coming! I was so saddened when Anastasia didn't make it on the train with her grandmother :(
Tumblr media
Time jump to little orphan Anya who still has her necklace. I loved Anyas attitude and singing voice and ad libbed all the lines I could once I learned them and as a kid tried to hold the last note in Journey to the Past.
Tumblr media
And Once Upon a December, when she's in the Winter Palace and things seem a little familiar to her, and she dances with those long gone. UGH it's beautiful and heartbreaking. She'll never see them again!
I'm gonna have to slow down on the gifs for a sec LOL!
Enter Dimitri and Vlad, loveable and snobbish (one of them, at least) conman who find their girl! Because she looks exactly like an adult Anastasia of the little girl in the portrait that still hangs there!
Tumblr media
And THEN, as they go off together, we meet Rasputin again who is still hellbent of destroying all the Romanovs so he sends demons to do his bidding! Rasputin himself is hella creepy but I can't say this is my favorite villain song ever. It's very good though!
Tumblr media
So can I just say the banter between Anya and Dimitri is some of my favorite of ANY movie. The childish gestures and whole "fine, I'll be quiet if you'll be quiet."
And after she asks if he'll miss his home, he's still going on about their argument and instead says "miss what, you're talking" AH SO cute!
Then she punches the crap outta him (by accident? LOL) when they need to get off the train and very quickly they realize they need to shut up and work together to get off what is now a runaway train.
The song Learn to Do It is really fun and all of a sudden she might remember something that she wasn't told to do or say by Vlad or Dimitri!
Tumblr media
(there's like 2 other gifs I also wanna use here but I don't have enough room LOL) And THEN, Jelly, this scene. It's all downhill from here and even Vlad knows it. UGH it's so pretty I WANT it! They get close and when Rasputin tried to kill Anya himself Dimitri literally swoops into action to rescue her! And she herself is overwhelmed by everything and remembers the Romanov curse.
And soon we're off to try to impress Sophie so she'll let us meet with empress Marie and it's going well until it isn't, but Anya suddenly remembers exactly how she got out of the palace as a child and Dimitri is there to hear it?! He knows! The jig is up!
The man can't really even have fun wandering around Paris while everyone else is thrilled!
Tumblr media
Then it's the night of the meeting and Dimitri is stunned by Anya and they have a couple nice moments and share some looks!
But then Anya learns the truth of how this whole thing started and slaps him again! Granted, he had it coming.
Tumblr media
But he does the unthinkable and kidnaps the empress and risks everything just so that she will meet Anya because she IS Anastasia! And somehow she agrees to it and after realizing that they ARE family, she has to tell Anya that Dimitri didn't take the money! *sobs*
He's ready to leave it all because Anastasia has been found and reunited with her grandmother and why would he want the money anymore?! WHY? Marie knows why :D
And when Anya is trying to figure out if she wants to be Anastasia or Anya, Dimitri is still close by making sure she is save from Rasputin and between the two of them (and Pooka) they finally get rid of him!
And then she smacks Dimitri again! LOL
Tumblr media
And then she makes her decision, it's her and him, and that she and her grandmother will still have their relationship.
Tumblr media
And did I mention I LOVE THIS MOVIE?!
I'm mad I can only include so many gifs. LOL ones not included are Dimitri pushing young Anya out of the palace, meeting again in the Winter Palace, saving each other on the train, another scene of them dancing, hugging after Anya wakes up from her dream, Dimitri realizing he was the boy who saved her, meeting on the staircase during the opera, her slugging him!...and that's all I think.
Okay so THAT was a novel and I am open to talk about this movie anytime!! <3

Responsibility
For Phic Fight 2021, The Lord of Chaos’s prompt c:
Spectra fed off of misery; nocturne fed off of dreams.  The elusive town cryptid that only shows up when people need saving gains a following and Danny finds that he gets a boost from the people who have faith in him, he starts to become aware of them, especially when they needed him.
The rest of the town seeing him as benevolent was a positive thing. The uncomfortable stabs that his ‘parents were right’ about ghosts lessened as fewer and fewer treated him as a monster just as troublesome as Technus. He didn’t need to tense when the news was on, to hear his attempts to help called a ‘savage attack’, or that stupid nickname. He’d slept a bit easier, knowing that people did understand he only meant to help lately. Sure, Mom and Dad might still insist he was an evil ghost, but it was so much easier to ignore that when he didn’t feel he was only one step away from proving them right to everyone else. Clumsy and reckless he could take. Just as long as he wasn’t some ‘evil soul sucking abomination.’
Having Jazz a bit more in the loop had actually started to pay off. She wasn’t as good at catching a ghost as Sam or Tucker, sure, but she wasn’t hindering him anymore either. Honestly, if all three of them worked together, his powers weren’t really needed unless something huge found its way to town. Which his friends had insisted he take advantage of at least once a week, to let them handle the usual patrols and alerts while he tried to catch up on work and sleep. Mostly sleep, to be honest. Focusing on work was almost impossible when his ghost sense went off, even if he knew they didn’t need help. He wanted to go, he had to go; but they were very good at yelling at him for not ‘trusting them’ to handle things. He really did need the break. That’s why he was feeling a little less haggard, a bit more alert. At least, that’s what made the most sense.
Then the ‘lurching’ started. He couldn’t think of a better name then that. It wasn’t like his ghost sense, that sort of just crawled out of him and didn’t give him much to go on beyond ‘there’s definitely a ghost around’. That could go off and leave him rolling his eyes at the box ghost, or fighting for his life against Plasmius with the exact same feeling. The lurching was...different. Like his ghost sense forgot where his windpipe was and decided to escape in a random direction. Inssenantly. It didn’t hurt, but it was annoying, worse than the pang that would pass when he ignored whatever got his ghost sense acting up. It just kept pulling in a direction, but refusing to get out from under his skin. Sometimes it would keep going for an entire class, which just made whatever the lurch’s chosen direction noticeably cold. He was pretty sure he was immune to frostbite nowadays, but that didn’t make explaining things easier if someone spotted his hand looking almost blue from lack of blood flow.
Maybe his core was on the fritz again. Who knew what sort of weird things could happen to a human who spent half his time dead?
Tucker suggested that he was just getting ghost puberty to go with the ‘joys’ of human puberty. Which sure, was funny and they could shove each other around and forget about it for a time. It didn’t feel like the right answer. None of his other powers acted up, honestly he was feeling better after fights then he usually did lately. Less drained, anyway. It wasn’t stopping either.
It just got worse. More intense. More frequent. Instead of vanishing the area the lurch decided to pull in seemed to grow the longer he tried to dismiss it. Noticeably. To the point even Dash asked if he should avoid punching him because ‘that shit looks contagious’. (He privately hoped it was. Dash totally deserved weird pulling that made you frost over.)
He had to ignore it, he couldn’t just drop everything every single time the lurch decided to show up. He’d look completely off his rocker, running in some random direction because ‘my shoulder feels cold to the north-west’. If it was close enough to be a real danger, his ghost sense would just go off!
So Saturday was going to be a ‘lurch hunt’. No more ignoring it, no school or mandatory activities that should keep him from following the strange cold that felt desperate to go after something. Yet even deciding that made his insides squirm. He had to follow it, he should be- but that was dumb. He missed enough class as it was.
So why was it so hard to focus on anything else when it started going? Like nothing else mattered? It wasn’t like he was drifting off or sleepy either.
Jazz said he was ‘fixated’ on something.
But how do you fixate on some weird feeling under your skin? He didn’t even know what it was! Just that Sam and Tucker kept needing to flick things at him to get him to pay attention to reality. One of his best rested weeks in ages, and he was worse off then he’d been focus wise in years. Stupid ghost powers. Saturday took far too long to come. Even when one of the lurches stopped pulling he couldn’t relax. Instead of relief he just felt. Hollow. He’d woken up in a panic, half expecting to be chained down in one of Vlad’s sick laboratories, but he wasn’t cut open. He wasn’t even injured. Safe, in bed- and feeling like the cold ran off with his ribcage.
Something was wrong with him. That had to be it. Once they found the cause, he’d solve it and it would stop. It had to.
Following it shouldn’t make him feel as relieved as it did. Taking his ghost form and flying after some...feeling that wanted to drag him somewhere was more like when Freakshow’s Staff dominated his mind than anything positive. A compulsion he couldn’t help giving in to.
At least his ghost sense went off once he’d followed it long enough, finding one of Vlad’s mutant ghost animals chasing someone through the streets.
Normal. A bit of one sided banter to get it’s attention, a few punches and ectoblasts and it was shoved away in the thermos. No more pulling, and one less ghost terrorizing town. That didn’t make sense. Unless it really was just his ghost sense increasing in range while becoming infinitely more irritating?
That’s what it felt like, at first. He’d follow, ghost sense, find the problem. Except there was something odd. Every ghost he found like this wasn’t just wandering about, or making a mess. They were all actively chasing, stalking or attempting to scare someone. Okay, so it homed in on more ‘violent’ ghosts then? That seemed possible.
Until one of the lurches kept pulling, but there was no ghost sense. The one that kept pulling him towards a man with his back against the wall, fumbling with a wallet. The man who wasn’t being threatened by Skulker, or a vulture, or any of this typical fare. Just another human with a gun, and the will to use it.
This so wasn’t his thing. He fought ghosts, they were half his fault to begin with. So why was his ghost sense leading him to this? Well. It hadn’t. Lurching confirmed for not ghost sense?
Jazz would totally chew him out for tackling someone with a gun. He just had to forget to go intangible at a bad time, and he’d be all ghost. Or worse, go intangible and someone else got a body full of lead. He couldn’t just...ignore it now that he’d seen it though. The chill that hummed below his skin wouldn’t let him.
So the guy was a bit startled about getting pulled through a wall and dropped off the other side. Probably lost some change. He’d expected a bit of fear, at least. Like come on, some ghost just grabs you while a gun’s in your face? That’s still scary.
Yet he didn’t seem bothered. Just thankful. Called him a ‘hero’. For being in the right place at the right time. By just happening to be there because...because he knew? Something in him knew. That was wrong, he shouldn’t just know when people were in danger like that. He vanished without a word, not wanting to stick around and hear more. It was coincidence. Hopefully the guy wasn’t too offended that he just bolted, but he couldn’t stay there. He didn’t like how the complement felt good in a way he couldn’t describe. That the cold in his chest thrummed with a pleasure that made the rest of him feel ill. He wasn’t a hero, he was just some kid. A kid who still wanted to have a life that wasn’t all this, eventually.
He can’t ignore at dinner that he picks at his meal, not from exhaustion but because he’s not hungry. He’s still energized, he’s still full- and no amount of gagging over the sink makes his stomach empty. ‘Ghosts helping humans only do so for their own ends’. He’d ignored and denied that, he hadn’t been getting anything out of being the local ghost punching bag- so why was he now? Did he steal something? Feed on that person he saved?
He hated that his face didn’t even have the sense to look pale at the idea. He looked healthy. Probably better than he usually did. Even the circles under his eyes weren’t as noticeable. Were Mom and Dad right? Was he just...more of a ghost now?
Sam and Tucker don’t buy his ‘couldn’t figure it out’ explanation. Mostly because he refuses to try it again with them along to help figure it out. Even as he grows cold and more lurching keeps gnawing at his attention. He’s human too, he doesn’t need...whatever this is.
Sam kindly tells him he’s being a gigantic idiot.
He’s too distracted by the chill to notice. Tucker explains that after he’s blinking confused at the corn chips bouncing off his forehead. They laugh it off. He’s pretty sure they’re just being nice. They know something’s wrong, but he can’t bring himself to tell them yet. They wait. For now.
He ignores the feeling. He tries to ignore the guilt, that he knows someone out there is in danger. That someone out there needs his help. That all he needs to do is walk out of class and he can go do some actual good. He can’t go chasing after everyone in town. Things happen! He’s just one person! The sooner the lurching in him figures that out, the better. It still ruins his focus, makes him grit his teeth and fidget in place. He wants to go, he doesn’t want to go, he doesn’t even know what he wants. For it to stop. That would work. The tugging stops halfway into his next class, the frost in his blood lifts. It leaves him empty. Starving.
Everything tastes bland. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Even his favourites barely seem worth the effort of snagging off a table. He’ll eat, he can’t have Mom and Dad looking at him like Sam and Tucker are now, but it just feels heavy in his stomach. A brick he’s decided to try digesting for fun. He’s hungry, ravenously so, but doesn’t want anything.
He knows exactly what he wants and hates himself for it. Stupid ghost half. He doesn’t need that, he doesn’t want to be some...leech. Seeking out trouble just to benefit from it. It’s wrong, he hates it, and if he could grab his core and slam it on the table for a few hours he would. Just until it remembered that they helped when they could. When it was close by, when it was a ghost problem. Not every bit of danger in town!
Misplaced aggression goes to the nearby ghosts. Which it often had,  really. It’s normal. He’s just making sure people don’t get hurt, ignoring the humming of MINE coiled in his ectoplasm. The other ghosts feel it. They hear it when he hunts them down and wants to keep swinging even when they put claws or hands up in surrender. He doesn’t trust himself to banter with them right now. He doesn’t want to hear the words his ghost side wants to say. He shoves them back into the Ghost Zone, and the smarter ones stay away. A stronger ghost is already feeding here. There’s nothing for them to take.
He’s running on autopilot. Days are meaningless. He can’t focus in class, his notes are nonexistent and his patience is beyond frayed. He can’t sleep, the cold is too much, the emptiness hurts and fewer ghosts show up. He can’t even blow off steam by kicking the Box Ghost through a wall. He won’t follow it, and he’s fairly sure it’s going to kill him. That or his parents will. Even they have to notice how he barely eats and won’t focus on anything short of a horn section in his face.
Sam and Tucker sit him down. Force the issue. They know he’s a mess. They don’t have answers. How could they? His choices are to starve this ghost instinct out, or to just give into it and completely ruin his human life. He’ll be fine. It’ll stop eventually if he keeps ignoring it. Then he’ll be able to focus again. It’s all he can cling to.
He’s stubbornly ignoring the prickling awareness of other thoughts. Ones not from his brain. Ones that get louder when the lurch grips him, that practically overwhelm his own as fear and panic grows. Maybe he’s just gone a little off the deep end. He doesn’t hear voices. He refuses.
Jazz has her concerns. That he can’t ignore it. She knows more about Mom and Dad’s research, more about classifications of ghosts. She tries to be gentle, nudging him to be aware that stronger ghosts were more...like a concept then an individual.
He doesn’t want to be some sort of ghost concept of problem solving. She’s worried he won’t have that choice. Some part of him already knows she’s right.
He seeks out Valerie. For help. She’s confused, baffled and suspicious. After all this time he spent convincing her he’s not evil, he’s begging her to call him that. To convince other people he is. To make them fear him and his help. He doesn’t want to be a hero like she is. He just wants to be himself, doesn’t want to hear the people begging for help when he’s trying to sleep.
She doesn’t understand, but understands one thing. He’ll feed on those who rely on them. She has to stop that, doesn’t she?
They fight, and often. He does poorly, lets her save people while his misfires cause damage and chaos. It makes him want to scream each time. Some of the thoughts and voices dim. Not enough. Too many are understanding, too many can see the regret and pain that wrack him with each failure. He’s always hungry. He wants to try again, but everything in him rebels against it. The ghost hunter avoids him. It’s ‘not a fair fight’. He’s ‘not himself’. His green eyes are more dead then they ever have been. He can’t maintain his legs.
As a human, all he wants to do is sleep.
Mom and Dad notice. He collapses and his eyes flare green when they try to help him. Just automatically sensing them as danger, against him, not someone that calls for him. They think he’s possessed, and he wishes they were right.
He half considers not telling them the truth. Let them think of a way to let his ghost half quiet down, to stop hungering for validation he doesn’t want.
Jazz tells them before they can do much of anything. Pinches his ear for being stupid- that getting experimented on won’t help him.
Their hugs make him feel bad. This should be a good moment, a time where he feels safe and accepted. But his mind is not his own, not with the others whispering in his skull. Their warmth and love feels like a drop in the empty barrel of his hunger.
They want him to be healthy. They want him to be happy. He can’t be happy if he needs to abandon his life to be healthy. He tries to explain it, the emptiness, the voices (Jazz cuffs him again for hiding this, which seems fair.) and they promise to try and figure out why, maybe find a way to limit it or separate himself from whatever connection his ghost half seems to have made with the town. Until then- they encourage him. To go ‘help’ people. To feed the clawing cold taking over his existence. He’s not sure if they really mean it. It doesn’t stop him from listening.
It’s hard to feel guilty when it feels so good. To have the fear quiet and be replaced with thanks. Someone’s out of danger and happy, and he feels less hollow for a time. Mom and Dad switch him to home school. They say it’s a better fit, to be able to stop and start based on when he’s not being dragged away by his own instinctive need to protect people.
It feels like giving up. Admitting he’s too much of a freak to live like everyone else. Dad tries to compare it to his special classes when he was young. Different to fit his learning style, not failing. The pulls and voices aren’t nearly as distracting when he’s full. Food actually tastes like more than sand again. Sam and Tucker don’t need to try as hard to smile now that he isn’t looking like death warmed over. He doesn’t like not getting to see them as often. He can’t deny he feels better this way, and can actually pay attention now. Even if most of the time he just wants to nap when the hunger stops. Go ‘back into hiding’ as the town thinks he does.
It’s getting better. Slowly. Not in a way he wanted it to. Better nonetheless.
