After My First Pet and Romantic Garden, now The Sims 4 Backyard Stuff is being offered for free. Just like the previous two stuff packs, it is expected that this offer is for a limited time only.

This DLC was first released on July 19, 2016. As its names suggests, it focuses on outdoor Summer activities and brings two lawn slides, a bird feeder, a set of windchimes and a tray and pitcher for cold beverages, amongst other furniture pieces and Create a Sim items.

The Sims 4 Backyard Stuff can be downloaded for free wherever you get your packs, both on PC and console.

UNIVERSITY PARTY: A SET OF UNI-THEMED ITEMS CONVERTED FROM ATS4 AND MAXIS, FOR THE SIMS 2 🍇

@ebbycarolina wanted some juice kegs converted, but the preview felt too empty so i ended up doing just a little bit more! 😅

these are 4 juice kegs by aroundthesims4 and maxis, 4t2'd for your simming pleasures! i also threw in the ping pong tables (3 slapped onto the same mesh!) from maxis too, because seriously, why not? every uni i've visited has one and even though it's purely decorative, i like how it spices up the preview.

the keg meshes aren't quite perfect--i sacrificed the original look for one that was actually functional & slapped on the sims 2 mesh hoses so that your sims can splash out on their favourite totally non-alcoholic beverage. still, i'm happy with how they turned out!

Bubble Tea Counter - Boba-fied!

23 March update:

Fixed the Lychee flavor material so it properly corresponds and doesn't give mint chocolate

Fixed the issue with the interaction cancelling out before your Sim can put the boba in your inventory. It should go in the inventory each time you order to go

Fixed low res mesh to show the boba cup (there will only be one texture for this. I may update later but doing several material states can be time consuming and I don't play in low res)

This is Boba-fied version of the bubble tea counter from @twinsimming's Tea Time Set conversion. When I saw the ThrifTea shop in HSY, I really wanted it in TS3 and then Twin did the thang and converted it for us TS3 simmers. With this mod, your Sims can buy boba tea from the counter.

You can buy 11 different flavors: the 5 flavors from HSY (Taro, Strawberry Matcha, Chocolate/Mocha, Lychee, and Mango) as well as 6 flavors converted from OniSims: Chocolate Banana, Mint Chocolate, Strawberry, Peach, Brown Sugar and Pistachio. Certain Sims will get a positive moodlet after drinking it.

Sims can purchase a boba tea to go and will put it in their inventory immediately after purchase. You can also make a group order to get 4 which comes in a cute little beverage carrier (pictured above).

Finally, I added the option to get a customer loyalty card. Keep it in your inventory and you will get a free boba drink after every 10 purchases. It's not linked to the individual so you can share it among your household.

Credits/Thanks: Boba drinks converted from TS4 by me. The nice (aka, not EA ones) textures are from OniSims. The beverage carrier mesh is from Modish Kitten which I edited to fit the boba cups. Thanks also to Arsil (wherever they may be) whose custom beverage script was helpful in teaching me...well how to make a custom beverage. Custom buff image is from FlatIcons. And of course, thanks to Twin, who converted the set in the first place. I'm only including the updated counter so make sure to download the rest of her set here!

Notes:

Sims will autonomously purchase if they're hungry. If there's boba lying around, Sims will autonomously drink unless they're stuffed.

I disabled autonomy for to-go and group purchases because hungry Sims will keep choosing these options and then not getting it from their inventory and then keep ordering more.

Children cannot purchase boba because there's no animation for it but they can of course drink it, however, if they're talking while holding a cup, it's a little weird. I think because there's no bar glass animation for kids. They don't stretch or anything, the cup just goes sideways.

Maids will throw away the beverage carrier even if there's still boba cups in it so if your maid is around, best to take the cups out of the tray or move the tray back into your inventory.

When buying a group order, dummy boba drinks are added to the tray and then the real drinks are added after. The thumbnail shows as strawberry matcha but it will be whatever flavor you ordered.

“Tea..! Fresh tea!” the Tea Master calls out from his stand, a warm smile on his face as he serves the warm, magical tasting beverage from his ceramic teapot. The sound of the pouring liquid into the wooden, hand-carved cups made from a weeping willow coming over the little girl in front of the stall, waiting impatiently to get her taste of this magical tea. “Here you go, little one. Careful now.. it’s piping hot.” The Tea Master warns, but the girl does not heed his words, gripping onto the cup and hurrying off to her mother. The Tea Master laughs, looking down at his ceramic teapot, he ponders.. What would it be like to have a child of his own?

“Welcome to the world, little one..”

Awakening with a shock, you sit up with a teapot mysteriously placed on your lap, you can’t help but feel familiar with the feel of it. Looking around, you have been placed in the middle of an overgrown plot of land with a simple, yet mysterious wooden mailbox next to you. You stand up and realize.. this is the new life you’ve been given, and you must make the best of it.

Hello friends! Thank you for stopping by! Underneath the cut will be my very first Legacy challenge on this blog! It's a Tea Inspired Legacy! I hope you enjoy!

I apologize in advance, this post will be long, but I hope it'll be worth it for you! Or I will disappoint you as much as EA's new packs do-

Before we begin, I'd like to clarify some things and give some general notes that might be good to keep in mind for this challenge! As well as tag some creators that were a HUGE help with this challenge! Thank you so much to @magpietrait @nicatnite88 @vibratingbed @forbiddenwhims and @pluto-sims for the help with this challenge!! They were all a big help with giving me motivation, inspiration and feedback! Kisses for all of u gimme ur autograph pls ty ♡ Dividers by @/cafekitsune here on tumblr!

❥ 1. Please do not feel pressured to conform to every single rule I've set in this Legacy Challenge! If you feel it is stressing you out, CHANGE IT! Nobody will get mad at you, not me, not anybody. Focus on having fun instead of feeling like it's a chore.

❥ 2. Please tag me in your stories, edits and sim screenshots for this legacy!! I want to see what you guys do with this. Of course it's no requirement, but it'd make me a very happy little dude!

❥ 3. If you are having struggles with choosing a name for each Tea Generation, feel free to use the actual generation name instead! Though, there's a lot of tea out there, so I don't think that will be an issue.

❥ 4. Keep in mind that you're allowed to mix and match the traits and aspirations I've chosen for each generation! And if those traits don't work out for your story, feel free to pick your own!

❥ 5. Don't feel like you have to make your sim a specific style, if you have an idea for your Generation Heir/Founder, go nuts!! I encourage creativity on this blog! i love seeing ppls sim ocs fr pls go nuts im begging u

❥ 6. You may mix and match with the generation order! If you feel that something would be more fun to complete now, go right ahead! Or if you feel a specific Tea Name would better suit the sim you're working on right now, feel free to shuffle the names around!

❥ 7. You can play on whatever lifespan you want, no rule for that. Whatever you feel is the optimal for you! Normal, Custom or Long, doesnt matter!

Now for the General Rule Set! These will be your Foundation for your legacy challenge, and these are the ones I highly recommend you do not change, as they're what sets the groundwork for your stories! At least I'd like to think that--

❥ 1. The most important rule of them all, there must be a teapot somewhere in each Generation house. See it as an heirloom from the Tea Master! Why it's in the spot it is, what attachment your sim has to it and why they decide to keep it is completely up to you! It can be any sort of teapot, CC, Functional or purely a Decoration, doesn't matter as long as it looks like a teapot!

❥ 2. You start out with 1800 Simoleons and choose a bigger plot of land. You may not move from this plot of land until the last generation is finished.

❥ 3. For every world outside of the one your sims live in you must pay a Bus Ticket Fee of 50 Simoleons. If you own the High School Years pack, going to school or prom will not require you to pay the fee, as school buses exist. You also do not need to pay when traveling to different neighbourhoods in the same world as your home, as you can walk to the block down the street but cant walk from Los Angeles to New York City.

❥ 4. You must start off the Legacy as a Teenager! You are not allowed to have part-time jobs during your time as a teenager, you need to live off of the land.

❥ 5. You may add as many gameplay mods as you want, however you may not use cheats to increase skill gain, funds or needs, you may not use cheats to boost your career, delete moodlets or add moodlets to your sims. Only some exceptions that will be stated in the rules when they come up.

❥ 6. You have to name your sims after the tea type stated in their generation! So for example, Generation 1 could be named Earl Gray as a first name and Tea as a last name! (The last name is required.)

❥ 7. Your lot must have the 'Simple Living' Lot Challenge. For an extra challenge you may add the 'Off-the-Grid' Lot Challenge too.

Kompot Processing Stove

I started this project back in April ... I'm beyond happy that I'm finally ready to share it with you guys!

BASE GAME COMPATIBLE

Description:

Kompot Processing Stove is a large appliance that can be used to make specific types of preserves - Kompot and Condiments (Mostly Easter Europen/Balkan traditional condiments).

**Kompot or compote is a non-alcoholic sweet beverage that may be served hot or cold, depending on tradition and season. It is obtained by cooking fruit in a large volume of water, often together with sugar as additional sweetener. Kompot is part of the culinary cultures of many countries in Central, Eastern, Southern Europe and Middle East.

It can be found in buy mode under Stoves. It costs 1200$.

When you press on the object you'll see 2 options to 'Make Kompot' or to 'Make Condiments', each will open a selection menu and you can choose from a variety of preserves.

You need cooking skill to unlock new recipes.

At L1 you can make 8 different types of Kompot, at L5 are unlock seven new kompots, and at L7 the condiments are unlocked!

You can make in total 15 kompots and 10 condiments.

Each process creates a box with the particular preserve, the box can be sold for profit, enlisted on plopsy or it can be opened. One box contains 6 jars.

All jars can be sold for profit or enlisted on plopsy. The food doesn't spoil.

Kompot jars can be opened and you will receive 4 bowls of kompot. It's better to keep them stored in the fridge.

Condiments jars - your Sim can eat straight from the jar, or open the jar. Once opened, the jar gives 6 plates with condiments on toasted bread. Keep them stored in the fridge.

There are a few buffs when your Sim consume the preserves and when your Sim works on the stove.

There are a few free spots on the stove that you can decorate if you'd like. Each preserve has optional ingredients, if you have the needed ingredients it's free, otherwise, you can just pay.

P.S. This mod was inspired by my home region, and I wanted to implement the Slavic culture into the Sims. However, if you want more varied preserves, I can recommend you to try Icemunmun's Canning Station which contains numerous types of preserves, if you didn't try it yet!

The Sims 4: New Game Patch (September 26th, 2023)

There’s a new game update for The Sims 4! This one comes in preparation for The Sims 4 Home Chef Hustle Stuff Pack release on Thursday (September 28th).

As it’s been previously announced, the patch brings a new design for the “cook” menu, for easier navigation. It also allows sims to bake cupcakes in any oven (#FreeTheCupcakes).Advertisement

The update also brings a few bug fixes, as promised on the latest Laundry List.

If you have auto updates enabled in Origin’s “Application Settings”, the game will auto-update once you open Origin. If you have auto-updates disabled, you will need to manually update by clicking the game in your library.

To ensure your game is up to date, check the game version found in Documents > EA > The Sims 4 > GameVersion.txt. Your game should now read: PC: 1.101.290.1030 / Mac: 1.101.290.1230 / Console: Version 1.81.2

Let them eat (cup)cakes! Speaking of sweets… this update includes freeing the sweetest treat, cupcakes! Your Sims can now prepare delicious cupcakes by using an oven, in addition to the traditional method of using the Whipped Dream Cupcake Factory. Plus, Toddlers can now experience the joy of eating a delicious cupcake.

We’ve delved deep into cooking, recipes, and ingredients. Expect to see the quality of food that’s prepared better reflect your Sim’s skill level, current mood, and appliance quality. Additionally, recipes across the Cooking, Gourmet Cooking, and Baking skills have been updated to better utilize more of the expected ingredients of the food that’s being prepared. One example of these updates: Players who own both Cottage Living and Get To Work can use the sugar, flour, and egg ingredients from the former with the baking recipes from the latter. The updates don’t stop there. We gave the Cool Kitchen Stuff Pack some love too! I scream, you scream, now Child Sims can scream for Ice Cream! Child Sims can now use the Sweet Tooth Ice Cream Machine.

One last update we’d like to tell you about relates to the Small Appliances in game. We’ve added the ability for many different small appliances to be dragged around within the game world while in Live Mode, as well as being able to place small appliances into your Sim’s inventory to take them with you on your travels. Visual effects for Sim Traits in Create a Sim have returned from an unplanned summer holiday.

Some text was updated to properly gush about Newborns.

Take a big whiff, we’re growing trash! Trash Fruit will now properly grow from any pile of trash outside, no matter its source.

It was getting a little lonely out there! Sims will once again receive calls and invitations from other Sims and NPCs.

City Living

We all were very hungry working on this update. But not so hungry that vegetarians would eat meat! Your Vegetarian Sims should no longer grab meals that upset their stomachs when using the “Get Leftovers” interaction.

Gelatin Rainbow Cake isn’t Vegetarian?! We’ve updated a lot of recipes that weren’t properly flagged as Vegetarian-Safe – and some that shouldn’t have been flagged in the first place.

Seasons

Bees will no longer become Enraged or Irritated after applying Mite Treatment. They will BEE a little more grateful to their caretaker Sim!

Eco Lifestyle

Photographs taken following today’s patch will no longer turn black when stored in the Storage Box.

Cottage Living

Some vegetables weren’t being recognized as vegetables for recipe ingredients! We’ve fixed this; make as many vegetable based dishes as your heart desires!

Now your Sims can make more informed choices on if they want to suffer the consequences of eating dairy when they are Lactose Intolerant. We’ve done a large update to food for a more accurate Lactose Free experience.

High School Years

Set your boundaries! There should be fewer invitations to become BFF with other Sims.

Growing Together

Photographs taken following today’s patch will no longer turn black when stored in the Basic Keepsake Box and the Truly Ornate Keepsake Box.

Horse Ranch

Ranch Hands now stay hired until you dismiss them.

Riders going from using Horse Barrels or Horse Jumps to doing something on foot no longer sometimes linger on horseback.

Movie Hangout

When using the Sugar Kane Popcorn Popper, Sims will now have visibility into what Cooking skill level they must reach to be able to prepare the various popcorn recipes.
