I had a dream about the daphne(I think idk the filler arc with the mech dragon and the weird gray stuff) being adapted by you into the htryds au

Essentially, Acno, Natsu, Gajeel, Sting, and Rogue were out on a quest when Natsu got distracted by a thing and ended up finding this little girl next to a river. She offered him a rock because she was trying to start up a rock selling business and he was like ‘sure!’ and took it

It turned out that the little girl was lost as hell so he offered to take her back to the guild hall so they could look for her parents, but upon catching up with Acno and the rest with her, he just… collapsed. Everyone goes from vaguely annoyed he got distracted so easily to ‘uh oh! That’s not good!’ he’s developed a fever and is breathing shallowly so they rush him back to the guild hall

They figure out, with the help of Porlyusica, that he’s suffering from sudden onset magic withdrawal, and Acno had to start transfusing his own magic into Natsu, which wasn’t great because they weren’t 100% compatible, but it was that or Natsu died from no-magic-itis. Wendy came in and tried healing him, which cleared up the concussion from falling over earlier, but otherwise didn’t help so she backed off and noticed the little girl, who had gone totally forgotten by everyone else.

The little girl who was bawling her poor heart out. Wendy tried comforting her but wasn’t super effective at it because she was also worried and scared and it took maybe thirty seconds of attempted comfort before she was crying too

Her crying got the attention of Gajeel, who had kind of an intense expression on his face because of worry and he looked at them like >:( and the little girl got scared and all of a sudden this weird spell ripped out of her and latched onto Natsu, Acno didn’t catch it in time because he was focused on transfusion and whatever the spell was just straight up warped Natsu away

Then I woke up. But I wasn’t fully awake and still kinda had the vibe of what was going to happen— it was going to be revealed that Daphne was behind it all, and the rock the little girl had given Natsu was actually meant to drain his magic. It had turned into a fist sized red gem, and she started using it to power her mech dragon.

Meanwhile, with the little girl, she was supremely freaked out and said she was just trying to help but everything had gone wrong, so she was gonna tell them where Natsu had been warped to. Acno sort of became a pissed off party bus because like all the dragon slayers insisted on going and also team Natsu, just an angry dragon laden with angry people. I presume daphne then received the beat down of a century, but, that’s the limit of what my half-conscious brain produced

Haha, wild. But somehow already more compelling to me than the original Daphne arc, lol. Your subconscious has got some skills XD

Also the image of Acno flying off loaded to the brim with people resembling >:( is somehow hilarious to me. Nobody is ever gonna survive that XD

since I seem to be in a gbf rambling mood today, I guess I'll talk about Makura while I see if my light team can fa solo Osiris without much issue.

Ngl when I got hit mid-last year, I had no idea how to use her at all. I guessed that given the double strike and skill damage, you weren't supposed to use her in a kengo team, but god was I so wrong. Having a character with increased hostility gain dodge all every turn is something I have only felt when I used Seox. And then I pass that on to Summer Monika for two skill nukes and a delay on dodge, a sub-all, perma double strike and thunderstruck support and I'm absolutely thriving. (Solo went off without a hitch btw.) Add in Cosmos and Yuni and Monika will never not ougi. Love it. She's so fun to play.

I am BARELY resisting going full red-strings-corkboard on this season. And by barely resisting I mean not resisting at all here is an extremely long list of the events those pins would be marking out.

BigB getting a Task that was a different color than everyone else's. It's not just a randomly assigned Hard Task, bc Scar rerolled for a Hard Task and his was also just a white envelope. It's fundamentally different.

That task taking BigB away from socialization, and seemingly being an incredibly time-consuming and dull request. Of profound disinterest to any watchers.

The phrasing of his Task!!

Dig a big hole. All the way down. At least 3x3. Make it your base if you want.

Everyone else's are direct and formal - the only one with more than one sentence was Skizz's, with the rule clarification of "One attempt only." Bigb's Task is four short abrupt sentences. It is also the only Task to contain extraneous information, 'Make it your base if you want.' The requirements (at least 3x3) feel like an afterthought to mimic the numerical/specific demands of the other tasks.

Evo symbol on the face of the Secret Keeper statue.

The fact that there's a statue at all; the fact that there is a physical representation of what is assigning tasks that everyone must complete, when previously everything was always handled via commands and unseen RNG.

Grian talking to the statue, and (bc of his Actual Role as game organizer) acting as a mediator for the impartial decisions handed down, speaking for it.

Grian making one last bad joke and saying he doesn't know if it counted or not- depends on whether we the audience laughed.

Grian asking for task recommendations from the audience. The watchers are making the tasks. The Watchers are making the tasks.

Again I could be off-base, and I'm not usually even that smitten with bringing in Evo lore. I don't want a Big Bad really...but. It feels like something very unusual and intentional and cool is happening in this series. And I'd guess we'll know if theres something going on once we have more than one data point.

My largely unfounded suspicion is that there is another being (maybe Listeners, maybe something else) trying to reach out to the Players via decoy Tasks, and BigB was the first recipient. Get them alone, make them of disinterest to the watchers, and tell them something we don't get to know.

Because that's the really, really fucking cool part (if my wacky theory is remotely right): We're the bad guys. We're the ones giving out tasks - hell, we're the ones actively brainstorming harder and crueller tasks in Grian's comments!

If they actually made a story where the Players have to keep secrets from us I will be delighted. Bc that is the same genius bullshit that made Evo Watcher lore so fun
