Always Check the Weight Limit

Yoongi sighed after his hand found the bottom of yet another chip bag. For the past month, he had been stress eating nonstop while working on his current song. Namjoon had connected him with an artist in the US and Yoongi put a huge amount of pressure on himself to write the perfect song.

His partners had been incredible, supporting him and making him take appropriate breaks to actually relax and eat real meals instead of savory snacks and sweet treats all day long. However, their encouragement for him to eat was unsurprising when they loved seeing him soft and satiated.

The song was expected by the artist’s team in just a few days so Yoongi was spending his Saturday morning going over every small detail again and again. He would be the first to admit that two iced americanos, a couple random pastries from Jimin’s cafe run, and an entire bag of chips was a terrible breakfast, but it didn’t stop him doing it.

While Yoongi had no intention of actively gaining, especially after the accidental weight he piled on after the breakup, he certainly knew the scale had gone up over the past year. The last month of poor food decisions alone had affected his waistline.

Finding a lack of snacks on his desk and a good stopping point in his continuous cycle of checking his work, Yoongi braced the arm rests of his chair to get up in search of food or his partners - preferably both.

Yoongi was used to the creaking of his chair each time he sat down or stood up as if it was crying out under his heavy weight, but the cracking sound he had just heard was new. He paused his movement and suspended himself between sitting and standing as long as his legs could hold him until he sank back down onto the cushion.

The cracking sound returned even louder as his chair attempted to hold him again until the seat folded away under the pressure, sending Yoongi closer to the floor. His knees were forced toward his chest even though his body didn’t quite have the space for that anymore causing him to let out a loud cry of discomfort.

As the crumbling chair tried to support him, Yoongi found the left arm rest forced into his side and it started to make those same sounds he heard just seconds before. He tried to get up quickly, having little structural-sound options to gain leverage and no solid footing on the ground.

Digging his elbow into the struggling arm rest proved to be a terrible choice as the chair fully gave way with even more weighted force from Yoongi. The left arm rest that was pushing into his side enough to leave a bruise snapped away from the chair sending him toward the ground.

While the entire moment felt hours long, Yoongi knew it had been a matter of seconds and a few poor choices from him that led to his current position on the floor. He was sure the sound of him falling from the broken chair must have sounded like an earthquake throughout their apartment.

As Yoongi was taking account of his body, he looked up to find both his partners at the door of his office with terrified expressions on their faces. He felt his cheeks instantly grow hot with an embarrassed blush, unsure if there were any possible way to explain away the fact that he was clearly too fat for his office chair.

“Do you think he’s going to work all day?” Jimin asked Hoseok with a pout as he continued arranging the pillows and blankets on the couch for the third time that morning.

Hoseok knew that Jimin was trying to keep himself busy so he did not bother Yoongi while he was working. They both had been missing their partner with the amount of time he spent working over the past month.

“I don’t know, Min, but why don’t you come sit with me? You are going to fluff all the stuffing out of those pillows if you keep going,” Hoseok replied, trying to keep his tone light.

Jimin huffed out a long sigh as he set one of the pillows down before laying across Hoseok’s lap. “I know this is a big project for him, but all he’s done in the past month is work and eat. And he’s not even eating with us!”

Hoseok laughed and ran his hand through Jimin’s hair. “He has to turn in the song this week, baby. Just be patient for a little longer.”

With another dramatic sigh, Jimin curled into Hoseok’s stomach and let the impromptu scalp massage comfort him for a little while. Well…until they heard an odd sound from Yoongi.

It sounded like a strained yelp, not like he was getting their attention but also not completely like he was hurt. Jimin turned to look up with a raised brow, watching as Hoseok looked down the hallway and waited for another sound.

They almost waved it off, assuming that Yoongi would have called for them if he needed help when there was an even louder sound of breaking plastic followed by a loud booming throughout the apartment has if something very heavy hit the floor.

Jimin jumped up with Hoseok following right behind him as they ran down the hallway. Both called out for Yoongi but received no answer. After opening the door and saying his name one more time, Jimin abruptly stopped causing Hoseok to run into his back.

Before Hoseok could scold Jimin, he looked into the room to find what surprised his younger partner. Yoongi was on the floor, surrounded by a few pieces of broken plastic and a chair that was looking as if someone ripped the seat off it.

“Are you okay?!”

“What happened?!”

Hoseok and Jimin asked frantically in tandem, somehow unable to do anything beside stare at their partner on the floor. Within a few seconds, both were able to put together what likely happened here and both had to admit that they were fighting back laughter seeing as Yoongi was physically fine.

Yoongi couldn’t do anything except lay on the floor mortified and red faced as he saw the amusement grow in his partners’ eyes. Hoseok moved first, offering his hands to Yoongi knowing that he would obviously need help up. Jimin stepped over quickly behind him, encouraging Yoongi to sit up first.

The room was filled with a tense silence aside from a few grunts and groans that Yoongi let out as he stood from the floor. The color still filled his cheeks as he replayed the moment in his head, feeling the shame as soon as he realized the chair was giving way.

Suddenly and awkwardly, Yoongi broke the silence and announced that he was going to take a shower leaving Hoseok and Jimin no time to respond as he left the room. He was thankful that he hadn’t actually hurt himself because the thought of Hoseok and Jimin taking him to the hospital, having to explain what happened was enough to make him cringe.

Waiting until they heard their bedroom door shut, Hoseok and Jimin finally looked at each other and let out muffled laughter as they both covered their grinning mouths.

“I can’t believe he didn’t acknowledge it,” Hoseok said once he got the laugh out of his system.

Jimin scoffed as much as he could while giggling and replied, “I can’t believe he broke his chair!”

Continuing to laugh between them at the entire situation, Hoseok and Jimin cleaned up the broken pieces of plastic and started discussing a new chair for Yoongi.

Hoseok watched as Jimin pulled the seat away from the chair to flip it over and read the tag on the bottom. He was about to ask what he was doing until Jimin made him laugh yet again.

“This chair has a 285 pound weight limit, no wonder he broke it. I can’t believe it made it this long; he’s been over 300 for a year now.”

As they walked back to their bedroom to wait for Yoongi, Hoseok started showing Jimin the options he found online. They were looking at high-end ergonomic chairs because Yoongi deserved the best and spent so much time at his desk.

Yoongi hadn’t expected them to be sitting on the bed, discussing a new office chair for him when he left their bathroom. That embarrassment that he had worked through in his shower came right back when he heard Jimin say that they needed to look for 400 pound weight limit chairs.

“Hey! I am not that heavy, you brat!”

Jimin collapsed into laughter on their bed, reminiscent of their conversation a year ago when Yoongi was offended yet proven wrong by weighing in at 300 pounds.

“It doesn’t mean you weigh that much, babe. It just means it can support that amount of weight,” Hoseok tried to explain diplomaticly.

Yoongi was afraid the red tinge was going to permanently set on his cheeks after the last hour of pure humiliation. Although, he wasn’t about to admit the fact that he was enjoying their teasing either. “What about a 350 weight limit? 400 just seems like so much.”

Jimin crawled off the bed to find the scale in the bathroom. He patted Yoongi’s belly as he walked by and said, “We would have to get a new one in a few months if we did that so might as well size up, right?”

“Min, come on, I am not that close to 350. This is ridiculous.”

With a smirk, Jimin took Yoongi’s hand and led him to the scale. “I thought you would have learned your lesson after last time, Yoon. Why don’t you check and see for yourself?”

Yoongi mumbled about Jimin being a brat again and how a smaller weight limit chair would be just fine. He waited for the beep and stepped on, thinking that no matter what the result was, he would enjoy what followed.

155.7 kilos. 343.3 pounds.

“Fuck…” Yoongi swore under his breath, trying to hide his own smile at the instant laughter from both his partners. He felt Jimin’s arms wrap around him from behind as his face lit up with that familiar blush once again.

“See, babe, 7 pounds will come and go in no time, especially with how you’ve been eating lately. Hobi needs to buy you the bigger limit, right?” Jimin explained teasingly, giving Yoongi’s belly a little shake as if he needed to reinforce his point any further.

Yoongi made an offended sound and tapped the back of Jimin’s hand as if he were scolding him, but he also made no move to get away from him. The smile came back to his face as he felt Jimin lean into him laughing loudly yet again.

Hoseok grinned as he purchased the chair on his phone, taking his own chance to tease Yoongi now. “Try to make this chair last for at least a year, big guy. It was expensive.”

“Hoseok!” Yoongi called out in shock, dragging a now hysterical Jimin with him back into the bedroom. He went to say something else, but his words were no match for the pure joy his partners were getting from teasing him.

Yoongi decided to unwrap Jimin from him and leave the room, trying to make a show of pouting. He heard their hurried footsteps behind him as he reached the living room, stopping suddenly as Jimin said “Wait!”.

Startling both Yoongi and Hoseok, they turned to look at the youngest who seemed like he had a legitimate concern. Jimin walked over to the couch and started pulling up the cushions, apparently looking for something.

“What’s wrong, Minnie?” Yoongi asked, mistakenly he would soon realize.

Jimin looked up with a smirk and had the audacity to wink at Hoseok before he said, “I was just checking the couch to see if there was a weight limit. We don’t want you breaking any more furniture today.”

Yoongi’s jaw dropped as Hoseok collapsed to the floor laughing while Jimin curled into the couch cushions with his own laughter just as loud. Yoongi knew in that moment, he was never going to live this down.

JM & JK... a reminder.....

Like possibly most of you, Jimin and Jungkook have been on my mind a lot, over the last 8 days. For many reasons. It's like we all stepped into this new Chapter 3, together somehow...... you know?

My thoughts just landed on this very specific realization. One that I had not considered fully, until now.

These 5 weeks of basic training very well could be the toughest 5 weeks that Park Jimin and Jeon Jungkook have EVER been through. Ever.

If you have first-hand knowledge or have loved ones who do, then you probably understand to some degree, what Jimin and Jungkook are going through, now. I say "to some degree" because their experiences are unique to them, and especially considering the lives that they had been living until 12/12/2023.

I bring this up now because it dropped into my awareness, with a strong feeling that sending them supportive energy is really important. They are beginning week 2. They are already beginning training in things that we cannot imagine having to learn. Like, how to use a gun and kill someone.... Add in the culture-shock of going from civilian life to the highly controlled life of a newly enlisted soldier.

There is nothing glamorous about what they are navigating. It is hard physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and energetically.

I feel that the most important thing that can be done as an ARMY is to take time every day to send them Supportive energy, and Love.

They are going to need every bit of it that we send. 💜

Funny how just a year ago the great majority of the fandom were getting free-passes to downplay Jimin's talents as being "jobless", "lazy", "lacking any talent for writing/composing" and "not caring about his solo career unlike the others" , "that he would be nothing without the group" (lol some ignorant bitches still think this). While also hyping and waiting anxiously for a certain pair of "historic mixtapes" that were promised since 2017, only for Jimin to be the one with writing, producing and composing credits in his own AND in addition becoming the first Korean SOLOIST to top BB Hot100 at #01 with a Korean song & second Asian solo artist in the past 60+ years to do so AND becoming Global Brand Ambassador to 2 luxury brands at the top of the proverbial fashion food chain (Dior and Tiffany&Co.).

CRAZY how life works, huh?

Chubtober Day 24!

Today’s post is going to be an idea draft for the OG Chubtober list - Beers and Brews. I have a busy work week so I’m going to try to write when I can, but it might be a lot of idea posts this week!

Both Jungkook and Jimin are children of chaebol families. They drink and party in college, but they also have time to work out.

Alpha Jungkook gets a role in the family business after graduating and omega Jimin “takes care of the house” as all chaebol omegas do even though they have house staff.

Jimin does charity work and has many hobbies including teaching a Pilates and a spin class.

Jungkook’s role contains many things including meeting new clients and business partners so he’s always taking people out for drinks which also leads to bar food.

It starts to seem like Jungkook is drinking beer what feels like every day and they usually get some sort of food with it so they don’t return to their respective offices tipsy.

A bad combination with all that beer and carb-heavy, greasy food is that Jungkook doesn’t have time to workout anymore.

On top of that routine, Jungkook also gets a lot of takeout at the office and people are always bringing in donuts or celebrating an office birthday with cake. He can’t be rude and pass so he always takes something.

Jimin notices a small beer belly start to pop up on his alpha’s middle, but he doesn’t say anything for a while. He just appreciates it and continues being a good house husband like all chaebol omegas do.

Jimin sees that Jungkook’s button downs are growing significantly tighter and is starting to think the alpha hasn’t noticed since Jungkook hasn’t said a word.

Jimin makes a point to size up his shirts and suit coats, hoping that it will both help Jungkook’s comfort and willingness to talk about the gain.

The noticeable change in his clothes fitting with more room and having a bigger size on the tags hits Jungkook that he can’t hide it or ignore it anymore.

The alpha thanks Jimin first, a bit embarrassed but concerned about his omega’s reaction considering that Jimin is a fit and toned fitness instructor.

Jungkook also shyly asks Jimin if he could size up his pants too since his shirts and coats are so much more comfortable, but that is the farthest the conversation goes.

Jungkook finally says he has to stop taking people for drinks and do something else instead when he gets home one night. He had taken two groups out that day instead of one and felt completely bloated and a little too tipsy for someone getting home from a day of work.

Jimin tells him to keep going until he gets promoted so he “doesn’t disappoint the family” even though Jimin knows Jungkook could get away with whatever he wanted in his parents’ eyes.

What went unsaid by the omega is the fact that Jimin is really starting to love his warm and soft yet sturdy and solid alpha.

A month or two later, Jungkook hits another wall.

He spills some sauce on his shirt while out at a client lunch where the alpha admittedly has one too many beers and more than a few too many chicken wings.

Grabbing one of his backup shirts from his office closet is the logical step, except Jungkook forgets that he hadn’t sized those clothes up yet.

All his backup office suits are old ones that he hasn’t worn in at least a couple months and he is absolutely shocked and mortified when he can’t get his shirt fully buttoned.

The top three went with some gentle pulling, but as soon as Jungkook reaches the crest of his full and bloated belly, those buttons didn’t have a chance of closing or staying closed if he somehow managed it.

Jungkook goes home and even surprises himself when he has to hold back tears as he explains the humiliating moment that happened that day.

Jimin, as the alpha should have expected, is nothing but supportive and loving. He tells Jungkook he is still handsome as ever and something like his weight would never stop him from loving him.

Jungkook showers his mate with love, so thankful for his pillar of support. The alpha also shyly asks Jimin if he could help him make better choices with food and maybe do some workouts together.

Jimin agrees without hesitation, but he also tells Jungkook that the alpha doesn’t have to lose a single pound unless he wants to because the omega loves him as he is.

Jungkook appreciates the sentiment, although, still adamant that he wants to try loosing some weight and cutting out those client lunches.

The alpha gets two weeks into working out and making better choices, losing a couple pounds, when his entire plan is derailed.

His father tells him that they have three more months of client recruitment meals and outings scheduled that Jungkook has been requested for and needs to attend to before they can find someone else to take over his role.

Jungkook just can’t let his father down and Jimin is more than supportive of him maintaining his responsibilities so the beer and bar food continues.

When Jungkook reaches the end of that three month schedule, his father tells him that he can finally be done with those client meetings because Jungkook will be named CEO in just six weeks - his father’s retirement a sudden bomb dropped on him.

The alpha then turns to a couple beers each night when he gets home as a stress reliever, of course, paired with the loving touch and tender words from his mate.

His plans to work off his weight piled on over the past couple years is completely gone.

By the time Jungkook takes over as CEO, he is rocking a full-on beer gut and he says he’s going to start losing weight again.

However, the plan is yet again derailed when Jimin announces that he is pregnant just weeks after the alpha’s promotion. Jungkook is over the moon with joy and is so excited for their new journey as parents.

His friends take him out for drinks, their families spoil them with dinner parties, and his employees bring gifts of baked goods and bottles of wine and beer that are left to Jungkook as Jimin cannot partake in the drinking portion of celebrations.

Even though Jimin is still working out and maintaining his balanced meals with just a few unhealthy cravings, Jungkook’s sympathy weight tacks on instead of losing anything.

Jimin still is supporting and loving, but the omega can’t help but tease his alpha - always patting and pinching his mate’s round belly, telling Jungkook that he’s perfected his dad bod before the baby even arrived.

Man at work.

Apparently working more than we thought he was...

Kookie bought a pack of 500 straws so he could exercise his vocal chords because he saw Sam Smith do it. But alas, he didn’t think it was working for him. Nevertheless! they won’t go to waste! because he can slurp down his highball much faster using a straw...

This cute goofball is the global spokesperson for Calvin Klein jeans... he mentioned that the Calvin Klein video was up and he acted bashful about it. He did say when doing these types of endorsements as a group is one thing, but doing them personally on his own, the product must be something he personally endorses. And he also said he will be embarrassed when people speak to him about his ad images. Perception vs reality.

He tells us he’s cleaned out his closet recently and only kept all his black clothes, but now he says he will wear Calvins now. One thing to look forward to... Calvin Klein clothing silhouettes are typically cut close to the body. Meaning they are not the oversized baggy things that we normally see on JK. Just sayin’! Bring on the airport fashion!

He asks to please show Calvin Klein a lot of support. Check! Marked off the list! I believe that company is scrambling to actually have any merchandise in stock this week, right? They weren’t prepared. Mission accomplished, JK.

For a few moments he thought he spoiled Jimin’s episode of Suchwita because he couldn’t find it on Youtube. Sus, Youtube.

Aside from the adorable heart eyes he had and the knowing grins and outright laughter while he watched, Jungkook nodded when Jimin said if he could go to any point in time, past or future, he would choose 2025 when they would all be together again. Kookie nodded vigorously again and let out a deep, wistful sigh while watching that brief segment. Was he getting a little lump in his throat too, just like I was?

Yoongi then says “we all have an idea of what things will be like when we come back” and Jimin agrees and when Yoongi asks Jimin what he thinks it will be like, Jimin says “we’d all be back together after we’re done.” I am assuming he means military service, and that he is curious to know how it will be and that’s why he wants to go to that point in time.

Jimin, we all want to fast forward to that time. None of us want you all to have to take this mandatory break and we all want it to be over with as soon as possible.

When it was over, Kookie fixed himself a fresh drink, took a potty break and then sat wordlessly on the couch for at least 15 minutes listening to music and pondering the universe (it seemed). Songs he queued up: “12:45″ by Etham; “thoughtboutu” by Karencici; “Another Day” by Gervs; “Adrenaline” by Lauv; “Where Does the Love Go” by by María Isabel and Yeek and “Honeymoon” by Johnny Stimson.

He sweetly sang along to “Honeymoon.” That song has a similar vibe to “10,000 Hours” and I wish to god Kookie would create a song with that ambience because it would become one of those all time greatest hits.

JK read a few comments (FINALLY?) he randomly says he was wanting to look up Jimin’s lyrics...? Jungkook and his never-ending fight with his Apple TV commands ensues. And he finally finds what he’s looking for... the BigHit intro.

He proceeded to fanboi during Set Me Free Pt 2 even being a tad slack-jawed and droolly when the 2nd verse started and Jimin’s cheat sheet tattoos were on full display, JUST LIKE US!

Done satisfying his need to know the lyric was “maze” and watching the entire video anyway, he quickly found a Jimin compilation video. Are you shitting me?

Now, we all know how insidious the Youtube algorithm is. If you watch ONE video of any genre/topic... what happens? YT serves up several more from the same creator or same topic or genre. Watch a reaction video? Then a dozen videos by various Youtube reactors will be summoned. Watch a Korean street food video? Then you will see a dozen videos about Korean street food. FACTS!

Every time you go to Youtube after that it’s like trying to get rid of cockroaches. You spend some time hitting the “not interested/don’t show me this shit ever again” option or else that will be all you ever see forever and ever amen.

So my point is, that Jimin compilation video was not random. Youtube isn’t a random platform, it is very articulated to deliver cocaine in video form straight to your brain in order to get you addicted so you keep coming back.

Anyway. Kookie again was like a kid watching cartoons and Army comments were totally forgotten while he watched this fan made video.

The evening full of Jimin, laughing at a fan made compilation video and a song that was playing called, “up at night”, by Kehlani featuring Justin Bieber, stirred something inside him and the lightning bolt of inspiration hit him and that was it. Game over for the live broadcast.

I’m glad he’s working. I’m glad he’s doing well. He’s still our Kookie and he still loves his Jiminie and the rest of his hyungs.
