Lin, addressing the krew: And if you have any suggestions feel free to put them in the suggestion box.
The krew: .......
Kya: But – that’s just a trash can.
Lin: It sure is!

I will never get over the Suyin playing cupid trope and if you can't either than you should go read chapter 11 of A United Front
Still not convinced here's an excerpt of Lin and Kya rizzing each other up
I've posted about 1/2 of the complete story on AO3 now and I think yall deserve a special shout out your comments and theories are so inspiring and I hope I can post the rest of it soon. I'm up to 90K words now and I PROMISE those of you waiting for angst, it is coming.
But for now, enjoy these two awkward gays trying to flirt with each other
“Lin call me crazy but I think you enjoyed yourself, even if you did slip a bit of work in at the end.”
“Having someone to fight other than my sister helped.” Lin said plainly.
“I see,” Kya said, “so in summary, you like having me around.”
Lin watched her family walk inside, busied by their own chatter and reflections of the evening. Suyin offered pointers and Bataar offered his excitement and encouragement.
When they were inside, she turned back to Kya, who was watching her a little too intently.
The sky had darkened significantly, Lin hadn't noticed before, but the stars were out. The sky wasn't quite black, but rather a stark shade of navy. The moon was almost full, a few more days and the fox-wolves would be audible from inside the dome.
“Maybe I do,” Lin replied. “Would that be so bad?”
Kya seemed surprised, looking from Lin, to the house, to the sky before her eyes landed back on her.
Lin's stomach tumulted in nervousness, or excitement, or both.
You're not exactly subtle.
Suyin was right, she wasn't subtle. She never had been. When she was angry she made it obvious. When she was frustrated she was expressive. She had held a grudge for twenty years because of how un-subtle she was.
“Not at all,” Kya answered, her eyes darting back and forth with nervousness.
There was a knock on the glass, so Lin looked to see her niece waving her over.
“That can't be good,” Lin said, looking back to Kya.
“Always the pessimist.” Kya laughed, brushing past her. Her shoulder nearly made Lin stumble with the impact. Kya's face turned at just the right angle that Lin could see a grin form when she thought Lin couldn't see.
Lin sighed contently before following the others inside.
She watched Kya in front of her, hoping the waterbender wouldn't turn around and catch her smile.

I JUST FINISHED LEGEND OF KORRA AND I HAVE THOUGHTS PART2: THE KREW
Yeahhh, I'm going there. The Krew aren't friends, I don't buy it. Korra and Bolin genuinely seemed like friends in season 1 before it fell off and they barely had any interactions outside of action sequences. Honestly Bolin's character was really good, like genuinely a good guy I'd want to ve friends with.
However they're still friends. So are Mako and Korra, even though it was rough after they finally broke up. Korra and Assami genuinely became friends and while I have MUCH to say about Assami, at least i believe she and Korra are friends.
And there lies the issue. Korra is friends with all three of them. But I can't buy that the rest are friends with each other.
Of course, Bolin and Mako are brothers. Their relationship makes sense. But Bolin and Assami? They feel like two people that just hang out because they have people in common. I can't imagine the two of them having long interactions on their own.
Assami and Mako were...fine while they dated. After that? Do you genuinely think those two even share a cup of tea together? How many times do you think just the two of them met up during those three years?
Korra and Mako, unlikely as it is, work. Specially after they stopped dating.
This is all just my opinion, but the Krew works as team avatar but not as a group of friends. They're like a friend group where most of the people aren't all that close to each other, even though they hang out and have fun. ...a far cry from the Gaang.
I don't want to put them against each other, but as a continuation of ATLA comparisons are bound to pop up. The Krew feels like a far cry from the found family that was Gaang. I mean even the characters with the LEAST interactions, Toph and Zuko had conversations I can't imagine a lot of the Krew even come close to having.
I can clearly define the relationships between Sokka and Toph, Aang and Zuko, Zuko and Katara, and do forth. I can't when it comes to the Krew and that's a shame.

Maturing in the a:tla/lok fandom is realizing 3 things
1. Sokka is the best member of the Gaang
2. Bolin is the best member of the Krew
3. The white lotus should have stepped up way before they did. Those were CHILDREN you are ADULTS now act like it

Here are some changes that I see happening in TLOK in regards of ATLA having a book 4: Air, Zutara and Azulaang being endgame, the dark avatar arc happening in Aang's time, all three spirit portals opening and Aang losing his past lives.
By the time Vaatu was purified, his powers/status were all siphoned and combined with Raava's. This is what causes Aang's past lives to vanish and he was warned of this outcome beforehand.
At the beginning of LOK, the world would look like how it did when LOK ended. Except, the extra portal gets opened as a result of the giant swamp tree and the tree of time being blown up and destroyed.
Zuko personally destroys all of Sozin, Azulon, and Ozai's statues and replaces them with statues of Katara. Katara will be more famous and be called the mighty Katara more often.
Aang's sons will be the same except his oldest is renamed Roku. Aang's daughter will have the most change appearance-wise, not really personality-wise. Her name is Ursa and is a firebender.
Azula personally makes sure there is equality in the family. As Ursa, Roku, and Tenzin discuss their family dynamic. The family squabbles they had were all minor and they're able to look back at them and laugh.
Book 1 is called Energy and it features Korra trying to figure out the ins and outs of energybending and the avatar state, in addition to dealing with Amon and the equalists.
Book 2: Spirits, has Unalaq be the well-intended extremist he was supposed to be, mostly on the opposite of the spectrum from Amon. His spiritual ally is Hundun from the LOK game.
The airbending subplot of book 3: Change, is removed because that already happened right after the end of ATLA, which leaves space for something else to add.
In Book 4: Balance. Korra does not get this realization that she "deserved" to suffer just to be more humble and noble. Instead, she'll realize that the avatar is not invincible and the world won't always need the avatar 24/7 which makes the job less burden-heavy.
I also see the endings of both series being swapped. Korra and Asami have their epic kiss while Aang and Azula take a vacation/adventure in the spirit world and it lasts long.

My old ML AU for Legend of Korra kinda sucked so I redid it. Mostly. Here’s their designs; I have more art and more designs (like their akumatized vers!??) but this is that for now unless people r intrigued
I don’t. I don’t like Miraculous but I’ll die before I don’t take every superhero AU opportunity I’m given. So I’m CHANGING THE RULES!!

Anyway check out this fruity squad. I bet nothing bad is gonna happen to them.

I got one hell of a question: How do you think Team Avatar would react to our world? We use the elements for alchemy, not bending. Plus most people here aren’t connected to what they would call the spirit world, most people thinking more like Sokka (aka scientifically rather than spiritual). And I mean both Team Avatars
Interesting question anon! I definitely think Sokka would be over the moon (ha) about how advanced the technology is, and he and Suki would think it’s fascinating that our entire society consists of nonbenders. As for the rest of the Gaang, I’m sure for the benders it would take some getting used to, especially since modern technology allows for us to do things that only benders could do in AtLA. This is already something that’s explored in the comics, and a bit in LoK.
As for the Krew, I think they’d be less likely to have an extreme reaction due to their time being the equivalent of the 1920s in the AtLA world. They also literally had to fight giant robots, which we do not have lol. I think Asami would be the most interested in the advancement of technology, and she’d also be the most likely of the Krew to have a large social media following once she figures out how to do that lol.
