Summary: You know you're not Sanji's type. Yet you also can't bring yourself to get over him. Consoling yourself with alcohol doesn't go as planned...

A/n: I'm done with Sanji fics, I say. Then I proceed to write a Sanji fic because I'm so in love with this boy it's ridiculous. Apparently all it takes is one reminder of why I love him and I'm a puddle for him again. Probably why a lot of my fics have so many compliments for him. I always want him to know how amazing he is hahaha~

The big bonfire had plunged everyone in a golden and orange hue, the warmth in the atmosphere lingering from the aftermath of another island successfully saved (and destroyed) by the Straw Hat crew. In one corner, Sanji was flirting with some girls, who were looking at him shyly and hanging on with great interest.

Somehow, it didn't feel as good as always. The blonde chef found his mind instead conjuring up your sweet smile and a giggle. Flirting with you was different. Somehow, it was the only time he felt giddy now-a-days. It was weird, but Sanji wasn't an idiot to not understand what it meant.

He knew he was falling for you and yet, he was also aware that his heart had chosen an impossible target. You were the most kind, generous and sweet person he had ever come across– and there was no way you would ever look at him as a potential partner. Sanji knew that, his brain knew that, but his heart was adamant. It has chosen and it refused to let go.

Giving up to its whims again, the chef excused himself from the ladies, who looked disappointed and tried to make him stay but he gently refused by giving some excuse and a compliment. Feeling eyes on him, Sanji looked around to find you shooting him a glare. It startled him, especially when he noticed the glass of alcohol in your hand.

You hated the bitter taste of alcohol. You never drank it and always refused it so what could have made you drink today? Sanji couldn't understand but he found his feet making way towards you the moment you swayed where you sat. His hands found purchase upon your shoulders when he was close enough and he steadied you such that you were leaning against his stomach.

You inhaled deeply, almost like you were taking in Sanji's scent, and it made a shiver run down his back.

"Sanji…" Your voice was a mere whisper in the din of the party but somehow, it reached Sanji's ears. "Take me home."

Home meant your room in the Thousand Sunny, a place Sanji had never stepped foot in. He had, at times, escorted you to the door but never went in and you had never offered either– it seemed like he would intrude on your personal space if he ever asked.

"Of course," he said quietly, carefully helping you to stand up. You never drank, but now that you had, Sanji wasn't sure if you had drunk too much or if you were a lightweight because you nearly collapsed again, giggles bubbling up your lips.

"My legs feel like jelly," you slurred towards the end, putting all your weight on Sanji, who easily held you up as you tried to straighten up. "Jelly… Milk pudding… ah, your milk pudding the other night was so good, Sanji."

"I'm glad to hear that, sweetheart," he patiently let you struggle for a while before you gave up and looked at him with tears in your eyes. Your mood swings were extreme when you got drunk, apparently. "How about I carry you back, my love?"

"Would you?" You peered up at him through your wet eyelashes and Sanji wanted to kiss your tears away. Even while crying, you were somehow the most beautiful sight with your adorable red nose, the flush of alcohol making your ears and neck and cheeks warm, droplets sticking to your eyelashes.

Without a word, he picked you up like you weighed nothing in a princess carry, and you squeaked at the sudden dizziness. Your arms automatically came to circle around his neck and Sanji hoped that you wouldn't be able to hear his heart hammering at such a close distance. You were pressed against him, and he could feel you– it was too much for his heart and he really didn't want to let you know how much of a big fat crush he had on you, lest it embarrassed him in front of you.

To you, he always wanted to appear like a cool, suave and charming guy. And yet, when you were around, he always ended up fumbling or stuttering or messing things up. The effect you had on him drove him crazy.

"You're so cool," you murmured, your lips tickling his collarbone from where they were pressed. "Your hands are always cold, did you know that, Sanji?"

"Yes," the chef smiled to himself, watching you draw hearts with your finger on his shirt. You were pouting again. "Is everything alright, love?"

"Mm?" You looked up at him, eyes wide and glossy.

"You never drink," Sanji gestured his head back towards the party, which was now quite a distance away that the noise had dwindled down. In the silence of the night, the moment felt all too personal and intimate. "Did something happen?"

"I got tired," you whispered, pausing from drawing hearts. You looked away, warm tears running down your cheeks. "It's been a bit hard these days. Love is hard, Sanji."

Sanji's heart skipped a beat at the last sentence. You were in love?

"I know I shouldn't," you continued on, no longer looking at him but at the starry sky above you, "that my feelings will just ruin everything. I know I'm not his type, and I know he will never look at me the way I want him to. I know he will only ever see me as a friend at most but God, if I just didn't love him as much I do. I want to do so many things with him, for him, to him– I want to be by his side and love him."

"He is a very lucky man," Sanji's mouth felt dry as he spoke. The food he had eaten suddenly seemed to want to come out the way it had come in and Sanji was sure that the only reason he hadn't puked yet was because you were in his arms. You, who were in love with some other man. Probably someone from the crew. (Was it Zoro? Sanji never actually hated the guy, despite his claims, but he felt like he really might resent him a little if the mosshead was the one receiving your affections.)

"Is he?" Your voice wavered. "He won't ever look at me that way. It kills me when I see him with other girls because I know he will never see me beyond a comrade because that's just how it is. I'm not, I'm not the type of girl he would fall for."

"He must be blind then," Sanji said loudly. You had reached the Sunny and got onto the deck, but he simultaneously wanted this conversation to end and not end. Who was it you liked? Zoro didn't flirt. Was it Ussop? He sometimes fooled around. "To not notice you, to not, to not realise your value." To not realise that he was a lucky bastard who got your love when Sanji would do anything for it. Anything. "W- Who…"

Sanji swallowed the lump in his throat before trying again.

"Who is he?"

You didn't answer for a few seconds. He tried to gauge out your reaction and found that you looked angry. Your mood swings were really extreme.

"I hate you," you hit Sanji's chest without any real power in it. The words were like a slap to Sanji, who looked at you heart-broken. You were angry, but you were still crying. "I wish I could mean that. I wish I could look at you and not constantly feel so in love with you. I wish you were mean or horrible or a jerk so I could get over you but you're, you're kind. You're sweet. You treat me like I'm the most precious and important person to grace the earth. You comfort me and you hold me and you flirt but never force anything on me. You're a gentleman, you're caring and I see you. I see who you are and I fall in love. I'm sorry, Sanji, I love you. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for ruining everything, for taking advantage of your kindness, but I can't make it stop. I can't–"

You sucked in a deep breath, scratching at Sanji to let him let you down. The chef did so, too shocked to say or do anything else.

"I can't look at you and not love you, Sanji," you whispered, eyes reflecting a broken and sad look. "I'm sorry I love you."

For a few seconds he didn't know what to say, brain trying to catch up with everything you had said. Him. You loved him. Not someone else, him.

You seemed to take his silence as your answer and turned around to leave but Sanji panicked and tugged at your hand, making you bump into his chest. His hands came around you in a circle, holding you with a desperation he didn't know he had in him.

"Don't be," he said breathlessly, feeling winded from the rush of his own feelings and thoughts. "Don't be sorry for making my dream come true, not when all I have wanted is for you to love me back. And don't be sorry for entrusting your heart to me. I swear, sweetheart, if you would let me, I'll take so good care of it. I'll never let you regret it. So please, give me your heart. Because I already gave you mine without either of us knowing."

You chuckled, the daze of having your love returned making everything feel unreal. You turned around and got on your tiptoes to press a soft kiss against his lips.

"Silly boy, it was always yours to begin with."

Sanji's heart was still hammering as he looked at you giving him a sweet smile and pulling him into a hug. You stayed like that for a few minutes, just the two of you under the stars on an empty ship, swaying lightly to inaudible music. A few moments passed before Sanji realised that your breath was evened out– you had fallen asleep in his arms.

That made him laugh, looking at your peaceful and smiling face burrowed in his chest, right next to his heart. Remembering what you had said before, Sanji carefully tucked a lock of hair behind your ear, and pressed a gentle kiss on your forehead.

"Then silly girl, you should know you were always my exact type, to begin with."

He knows you're insecure, and he loves you, he really does, but he uses it to his advantage. Shion is more worried you're going to be scared and try to run, not like he'll ever let you, but still is very worried about what you might try so he does attempt to play into your worries to make you stay.

"I mean, ya, you can be a pain, but I still like you," he tells you after listening to you fret over how maybe he shouldn't be with someone so weak. What he doesn't say is that he wants to protect you, to guard you and love you because you're just too precious to let go.

But then you go and pull some bullshit. You actually try to break it off... "I-I can't do it anymore, Shion. I just know you need someone who can do more for you and I'm not that person..." and you actually walk out on him like that.

Now Shion would sooner tear out his own eyes than ever hurt you, but your 'breakup' isn't sitting well with him. You figured as much when you see him watching staring at you from your apartment window. He even waves.

And it gets worse from there, because now there always seems to be beatings where ever you go. The nice clerk at the corner store you visit regularly ends up being robbed and thrown out of a window, the jogger you pass by and smile to in your neighborhood ends up being jumped with his kneecaps broken, and even your coworker that always brings you coffee has somehow ended up in accident... People are dropping like flys...

Shion pays you a visit one day. He's actually sitting in your apartment when you get off one night. You're already not happy because you just heard an old friend from high school had somehow ended up with a cracked skull...

But you find Shion just sitting at the foot of your bed... With hands caked in drying blood, smiling at you like you just told him he had won a million dollars.

"How many more?" he asks you, "Wh-what? Shion what're you-" "How many more people are in our way, Y/N? Tell me so I can take care of 'em."

Oh how much this one loves you could bring all the greatest of romantics to shame. Too bad he's such a goofball. And honestly, that suits you fine. You two are perfect for each other like that.

You're both playful, a little silly, and you two have fun together. But then you see it. The importance of Shinichiro Sano. Men, powerful men, come to him for guidance and respect his own authority.

That makes you feel so small. You actually can't believe how many influential people he has at his beck and call, the ones that call him a leader. And where could someone, who's a little bit goofy and a lot of bit awkward possibly fit into his world.

You tell him as much and it almost brings him to tears. "You're just... you're so much more than I am-!" "I am nothing without you! How could you even think that!?"

And you two argue like that all the time, back and forth, about how you know he's too important to waste his time, and how you're too important to loose. But boy does he feel like he's loosing you....

"I gave it all up. I don't need that if I don't have you." "You had it before me, you can't just stop being so important." But he isn't important, you make him feel important...

Once, you tried to mention that maybe he could do better and he reached hysterics. It honestly terrified you, not because he was violent but because you saw that he had the potential to be.

Grabbing your arms in his hands with a crushing grip, one you knew could break bones if they really wanted to, and holding you so tight that you couldn't even budge if you wanted to.

"I don't want anyone else!" he had hissed, "I don't need anyone else! This is it! For you and me!" its no longer comforting words but demands of submission now. Like he needs you to top bringing the topic up altogether.

And you do. Not because you want to or because you're suddenly convinced. But because you're too scared now. You've noticed eyes on your everywhere you go, you even tell Shinichiro about it.

"Oh? Him? He worked under me back in the day. Told him to keep an eye out for you." "Wh-what!? Why!?" "Keep you safe. Keep you from doing something stupid."

You figured you're not the only insecure one....

“And this…is how you peel apples perfectly.”

Sanji proclaimed as he held your hands to help you peel your fourth apple. It wasn’t perfect like he said but, you were definitely getting there. It was crazy how much a chef could teach you something new with being so hands on. He chuckled as he took a quick puff from his cigarette, before setting it down in the ashtray behind him.

“Wow Sanji!” You proclaimed as you wielded the knife, almost swinging it around. His blue eye widened, as he moved around a little.

“Oi oi, you cannot be swinging a knife like that princess,” the young chef stated as he grabbed your wrist softly to make sure you wouldn’t cut yourself nor him. You noticed his pale hands were unscathed, even despite how often he fights with the pirate crew. His hands were used when he used his table-manner-course kick, even though his hands have been gloved now, you still wondered how he was able to do it. “You need to start learning to put down the knife if you will be cooking here.” It was true, you couldn’t be swinging around a cooking instrument and potentially hurting people.

“Sorry Mr.Prince, please forgive me,” your soft words melting him like butter. Eyes budding into hearts, he took the knife and gently tossed it into the sink. He pouted a little, then leaned in for a kiss.

“Well…maybe if my princess gave me a quick kiss-...” Placing your left index finger on his lips, he could taste the sweet apples that left some juice on your fingers.Thinking that was going to stop him, but instead he kissed and licked your fingers. “Ah, so sweet. I hope I could have tasted your lips instead though love.” You laughed at his playfulness, he is such a sweetheart. His love language was always some form of touch, but words of affirmation worked just as well.

“You are so cute like a boy, yet a master with food. Is your tongue just as amazing, or…?” Winking at him, you could see a little bit of blood dripping from his nose. “Oh cutie, you have a nose bleed,” trying to wipe his nose with your sleeve, he abruptly stopped you. His hand firmly gripping your wrist so it wouldn’t move any closer to his face. You were perplexed and you didn’t want to have him bleeding all over the apples.

“No lady should wipe blood with her clothes. It is honorable madam, however, I can just grab a handkerchief just like…” he gestured from his pocket as he pulled out a black square towel, “this!” He was definitely prepared, at least for when he cooked. The way he treated you like a lady was always nice, but sometimes you wished for something more. You looked down away from his face, even though he was trying to show his gentleman side. “What’s wrong?” He asked, placing his hands on your waist. You shook your head from the thoughts of him being more of a playboy. Flaunting his thirst over women was always funny, but annoying sometimes to you. Yet, when it came down to getting intimacy, it has always been gentle, soft, like the puffs of smoke he exhales from his cig. “It seems you have something on your mind, unless…” he chuckled, hugging your waist tight and spinning you around. Knocking some stuff on the table over. “Come on now, you can tell me y/n-swan~” Sanji cooed in your ear. You could feel yourself needing to balance yourself, so you place your hand on the table and-

“Ouch!” You yelp out. Sanji froze the second he heard your voice. It was a distress, it was a painful cry. Gently setting you on your tiptoes, he could see red drops drip-dropping onto the floor. Both pairs of eyes look at your right hand, both your index finger and palm quite deep. Stinging and feeling your heart beating through your hand, all you could do was stare.

“H-hold on. I’ll..I’ll get you some bandaids!” Sanji quickly runs out of the kitchen to snatch some bandaids from Doctor Chopper. You weren’t sure if you should clean the floor, the wound or just watch the blood slowly drip onto the floor. The last time you hurt yourself, you tried to lick your cut, Sanji and Chopper stopped you. Telling you about bacteria and how it could scar. Instead, you sigh and run the sink with warm water. Washing your hands with soap, it was burning pretty badly. Hissing at the mere pain that soap and water was doing to your hand. “Princess!” You heard Sanji yelling from the hallway, his shoes clicking at every step he took running to you. “Please don’t-” he ran in, seeing your hand under warm water and he sighed. Sanji wanted to be the one to put your hand under the water and take care of you, like the baby you were to him. “Baby, why didn’t you wait?” His blond hair sticking everywhere, while he pouted his lips at you. You shrug nonchalantly while washing the wound still.

“I just couldn’t wait for you,” blandly stating how you felt without realizing it. Sanji was shocked. There was no way he just heard you speak like him so dull.

“Are you okay?” He questioned as he got closer. You plucked the bandaids from his pale hands, and started to bandage your own hand. He had never seen you act this cold before. Leaving the kitchen, you start to focus on going to the main deck of the Sunny-Go. You could only hear your man’s steps following you from behind. It was out of rhythm, and it seemed to echo in your right ear, then left ear, then back again. You went out on the deck, to see Zoro working out, with Ussop, Franky and Chopper messing around. Sometimes, you would see Zoro rolling his eyes while Franky super posed around the deck, with his little posse behind him.

“You guys can be super loud and annoying goddamnit!” Zoro yelled at the three being loud. “Man, I’d choke them out,” he said then he saw you staring at him. “Yo, what’s up? Need somethin’?” As he still pumped the iron, while trying to listen to your response. That was it, you craved a rough touch. A change of pace as you will.

“Hey, could you explain to me what is wrong?” Sanji said finally catching up behind you, and grabbing your left hand, making sure not to grab the injured one. You turned around slightly, but then tugged him away from the others towards the lower deck quickly. Everyone looked confused as to what was happening? There was no arguing though, so it was not their concern. Finally, after dragging Sanji to the deepest part of the ship, you brought him into the sleeping quarters. “Just what is happening to you my love?”

“I sometimes wish for... Sanji,” you said, trying to avoid his ocean eyes. They could persuade you to not say words. Especially something about Germa 66, or even- “I wish you were more rough”. He blinked a few times, then took out a new cigarette. He tilted his head and was unsure what he meant.

“You understand that I could never be rough with you, my lady. There is no way I could do that to you,” Sanji desperately trying to calm his nerves. Nearly disintegrating half his cig in one breath. “There is nothing I could do to rough you up. You are a pearl to me y/n-chan. Understand that,” trying to get close to embracing you again. That is when you let a few words slip your lips.

“I wish you were rough like Zoro”.

You could hear his breathing stop for a second. Oh no, he wasn’t supposed to hear that. His cig dropped to the floor almost as if his heart dropped with it. “What did you say?” Sanji’s face looked so hurt. “How could you even say that when you aren’t even with him.” Shoot, shoot, shoot.

“No baby, I meant-”

“Then explain. I already told you why I can’t be rough with you. Why would you say that?” You could hear the hurt in his voice. You tried to soothe yourself by rubbing your sleeve. The only thing hugging your body at that moment. You wish you could run from this situation, but despite wearing skinny jeans, you knew he would catch up insanely fast.

“I love your soft delicate side Sanji. I really do…but-”

“But what, y/n?” His voice was snippy. The only thing you could do was be honest at least. Your honesty got you here, and now you can’t lie to him. It would only make it worse. Stepping forward, you grabbed his hands. The chef couldn’t meet your eyes, as he could only stare at the floorboards beneath his feet.

“I love it, and I appreciate your prince-side. I just wish sometimes that you treat me like a woman. One that can handle a little bit more you know?” It didn’t seem like your words were reaching him. He looked like a ragdoll as you brought up his hand to your face. “Sanji, when you fight in battle, you play hard to get what you want. Sometimes I want that too. Its attractive to see you bossing people on what to do.” There was still radio silence. Uncertain if he was just too deep in shock to comprehend what went wrong. “We can use a safe word. You will never hurt me. This is what I want Sanji.” He finally looked up. Curly brow now showing how sad he truly was.

“You don’t understand. My powers from Germa, if they are truly awakened, I could hurt you on accident without knowing. If I ever were to do that, then I could…I could never forgive myself,” Sanji almost crying as he pulled his hand away from you. “I would rather die than potentially harm you.” You got so close to his face, that he flinched and nearly fell backwards into one of the hammocks. He didn’t want to look at your face, the kissable cheeks that he loves to wipe tears away from. Red sweet lips that he could tug and nip at for hours.

“Have you ever harmed a woman?” He shook his head. His hair moving back and forth to clearly show he heard you. “Have you damaged your cooking tools or your ingredients for cooking?” Shaking his head again, he was slowly looking straight into your eyes. “Then please don’t worry. Love me like you have been. Heck, we can even have a safe word. Just please Sanji. I trust you. You have to trust yourself,” you begged. You were right. Not once has he harmed a woman, nor damage the finest ingredients in his pantry. “I mean, I won’t force you to do it. That I would never do. Please forget it.”

“Thank you” you heard it oh, so quietly. “Thank you, for being honest and trusting me.” It was louder now. You breathed a sigh of relief. This was the Sanji you loved and knew. He was a gentleman, though a pervert sometimes; he was a man of his word. He pulled you in close to his chest, stroking your cranium, planting a kiss when he inhaled your scent.

“No no, thank you, for listening. Don't change who you are Sanji. I love you.” This argument was healthy. It may not change who he is, and what your desires are; but at least you two understood each other. Loving the flaws and perks of each other, more than ever.

so far this was a really ship-heavy season I normally am not a shipper with this show but boy did this season change that

My top 5 ships of season 3 of the Witcher

5. This is a bit of a crack ship since Lambert isn’t coming back in the show, but who wouldn’t love two catty snarky and sexy redheads? I like to think these two find each other in this universe as well

4. Triss and Istredd: had a ton of chemistry from the moment they were in the library together, loved seeing them work together I'm a fan of the " the other people in the love triangle get together" trope also I love that they are both rocking the 80s look

3. Vespula and Jaskier: I love that they included her character and the love/ hate relationship they have and that they showed Jask being a slut instead of just stating it, that whole scene with them together took me out

2. radskier : Joey and Hugh have so much chemistry in the few scenes we got, Radovid being the one person to see through Jaskiers facade and see him for who he really is, Jaskier not wanting to fall for him but doesn't wait to figure out what the prince is actually up to, if anything, the potential for angst in vol 2, I was skeptical about this but they did it so well, but its not the most shocking ship related thing in season 3.... for me

Yenralt: wow I didn't think it was possible, after Man of Steel, BvS, and two seasons of The Witcher I didn't think it was possible for Cavil to have any chemistry with his on-screen love interests, but I was wrong seeing them finally choose to be open and tender with one another after all that happened was sooo satisfying, episode 5 managed to do something for me that even the games couldn't do, make me a Yenralt shipper, the recreation of the scenes from the book at the ball were chefs kiss, I also liked that they chose to show tender intimate moments of them in bed and in the bath rather than just a sex scene for fanservice, I love them together and now I'm sad thinking about part 2

I see all kinds of crossover stuff for Bayverse and Rise, but I feel like a crossover for Bayverse and 2012 has so much hidden potential. Hear me out-

The Bayverse boys are tall af, especially Donnie and Raph. And all of the 2012 boys are smol beans, with their Donnie the tallest at only 5'6". Hella height jokes And hella protective of the smol beans. The 2012 boys take full offense. This does not help their case. It's like angry kittens. Angry kittens that could kill you, but angry kittens nonetheless.

The 2012 boys being shooketh with how crude the Baverse boys can be. 2012!Splinter would have got them with the slipper if they had ever dared.

If the crossover is before 2012!Splinters death, Bayverse!Splinter and 2012!Splinter interactions would be *chefs kiss* but the sheer amount of heart-wrenching angst that could be if it's set after 2012!Splinter has passed.

I headcannon that Bayverse!Mikey is a hella good cook so either he'd take one look at 2012!Mikeys combinations and go "Oh hell naw" or he'd be like "Hot take, let's try it." Pranks galore on their brothers. No mercy.

Wondering what your thoughts and opinions are on the rest of the jerk squad boys, especially Nate?

Know that asking me this was a mistake because I’m RABID for them. I’m FOAMING at the mouth and shaking just at being asked to ramble about my boys because I am plagued by thoughts of them that I’m absolutely going to unleash upon you now.

This is not going to be coherent at all. I apologise for that.

By the way— since I already talk about Shiloh way too much, he’s not going to have his little section here. If you want to see my rambles about him, please check my masterlist!

I’m probably going to talk about Jeremy separately because…. I actually haven’t finished his route. It’s the only one that’s left.

Since you asked about him first, Nate is one of my favourite boys. I have a special place in my heart for him because he kind of reminds me of my girlfriend, and I do think that his dynamic with JB is one of the most entertaining in the bunch. He’s always snapping back at her and it’s so fucking funny. Every time they’re out together I keep getting this mental image of JB being strapped in a baby leash with Nate trailing behind her like an exhausted parent.

Like Shiloh, he’s also a character that I think about a LOT, particularly about the way he handles (or does not handle) his emotions and his obsessive need to have control over everything around him.

I think it’s really telling that Nate continuously strives for perfection and frequently neglects his own emotional needs when he practically raised himself, admittedly saw the school as his home, and when we know for a fact that he was seen and treated as a mini-adult throughout his life.

Like, you cannot tell me he wasn’t praised endlessly as a child for being independent and self-sufficient and then when he grew older people were constantly exasperated that he was too independent and didn’t know when to ask for help when needed! Nate is probably endlessly confused as to why something that was touted as being such a good trait for a good portion of his life suddenly became a problem.

Anyways, I think it’s kind of tragic how he spent most of his life at that school and I legit teared up when they graduated. It’s also very sweet how despite being a perv and living to make him uncomfortable, JB is surprisingly respectful of his boundaries regarding physical touch and doesn’t push him to kiss or hug her. Yeah, she teases him about missing the perfect moment but she’s happy to let him decide when he’s ready to do all of that!

It’s also nice that she tries to support him, even if she isn’t exactly good at it. SHE’S TRYING HER BEST BC THEY LEGIT LIKE EACH OTHER EVEN IF THEY BOTH HAVE ISSUES!!

Regarding Everett… I didn’t expect to like his route as much as I did, but he has SO MUCH ANGST POTENTIAL.

Like, his whole relationship with Nate? The fact that he’s a momma’s boy?? HE WAS REJECTED BY PRAN In like, the WORST way possible??

It’s just, chef’s kiss. A whole lotta angst wrapped inside a tiny, hipster-shaped package. Pure perfection.

My only issue with his route is that the whole time, I felt like JB was getting in between him and Nate. This is my headcanon, but I feel like after high school, if JB and Everett don’t immediately have an explosive, dramatic breakup there are only two possible routes: either he leaves her for Nate or they add Nate into the mix.

I’m sorry, but no other alternatives compute for me, not after their conversation in the tunnel of love. That shit goes way past just a codependent friendship.

I think I’ve mentioned this once before but Bae is likely my second favorite jerksquad guy. I can’t really explain why his condescension is so funny to me, but it might be because my favorite parts of the game were the group meetings and Bae’s borderline paternalistic attitude towards the other characters (because he’s mAtURE and knows what’s best for them) and his sarcasm made for some really great dialogue and some of the funniest scenes in my opinion.

Just as a side note— I played xoxo blood droplets and Bae’s route made me realize how much potential he has to be a yandere in an au! And now that I’m thinking about this I NEED to write about it. Even if it’s just headcanons or something.

I love him in game. I’d probably throw hands with him three minutes into a conversation if he existed IRL. I sent my girlfriend screenshots of his sons of his scenes while I played and she said that I was a bit like him. It made me reevaluate my life LOL

Okay so, I’m going to be real with you: Pran is my least favorite of the boys. I’ll admit that when I played through his route last year I kept complaining about not having that much fun and not liking him a lot as a character. My view changed as I got to the end of the game:

Pran’s is still my least favorite route but he’s one of the most interesting guys to analyze.

In the end, even if it took me a bit to get into it, I still ended up enjoying it immensely anyway.

I think what made me dislike him at first was that, ironically, I think that Pran as a character works best in group scenes. He’s a contrarian and he’s very quiet most of the time, which makes his very occasional interjections some of the funniest moments in the meetings, but that’s also why I didn’t find his dates as fun LOL

I think that with the other characters I had a better time because how they played off JB during their dates, while with Pran it was funny to see JB trying so hard to engage with him or get a rise out of him just for him to barely react (and it makes the instances where she does manage to catch him off guard very rewarding) on the first few times, but it started to get old for me. There’s only so many times I can hear him say no, and that he doesn’t care before it gets annoying.

For me the highlight of his route was seeing Shiloh have a weird, one-sided beef with him. Shiloh pretends to like everyone but this is where he draws the line apparently 😭

Anyways, you might be wondering why I said he’s one of my favourites to analyse if I didn’t have much fun playing through his route. That’s mostly because of his backstory, which I genuinely find to be fascinating.

He’s basically a textbook example of avoidant attachment, which is due to the severe neglect he suffered as a child. Honestly, I could make a whole post about this alone if anyone is interested.

That coupled with having to adopt a mentality where nothing he ever did or said was ever right, because either his parents or grandparents would get upset, which led to him always being quiet or choosing the contrarian option, and you get a pretty fascinating character to think about. It’s interesting to examine his relationships through this lense: it makes complete sense that Pran has a difficult time engaging with JB and connecting to her emotional needs. The few relationships he has maintained exist out of necessity! And he tries so hard to push her away, in the same way he pushed everyone else away, but she just refuses to leave. Refuses to accept defeat. She’s fully determined to figure him out and make their weirdass relationship work and it’s something I admire JB for. That girl is a TROOPER.

regulus & draco. so i have an undying need for regulus black lives and tries to stop draco from following down his path, like it's essential. but i know that your draco follows the werewolf theory which would also be very interesting. like regulus knows exactly how their family would react to that, and the other people around draco, and the regulus i write has grown up A LOT since he was a teenager. it would be an interesting dynamic, i think.

regulus & scorpius, depending on how you write scorpius, i can also see a potential here for complicated family dynamics.

percy & jason, of course, these two boys with their own camps and their own responsibilities and becoming two entirely different people because of this. it's very interesting and i love exploring it. i hate the "oh, i need to prove i'm better than him" kind of thing percy and jason were forced into in canon because i really don't see that as ... part of their personalities ?? so it'd be nice to explore otherwise.

percy & luke. potential, potential, so much potential !!!! like i'm all for the canon route of enemies these two went down, but i've also down for canon divergences where sally actually died and percy went full rebellion against the gods, on luke's side. kind of like the idea of sally dying earlier and percy ending up on the streets with luke, annabeth and thalia somehow. so much potential here.

sally & percy, role reversal i'd love to write my sally with your percy. because that relationship is just ... *chefs kiss*. i adore it. let me have it all.

clary & george, these two of simon's best friends meeting and being like, hmmmm ... like i can see a little bit of resentment in clary that someone could ever come into simon's life and replace her. but then she's so happy he had someone at the academy, and it's like "okay, truce, let's agree to share him."

clary & theo, i like the idea of clary being interested in this werewolf-nephilim hybrid, especially in a verse where jocelyn and luke have had a kid. like she would be trying to figure out what to expect for the future for her half-sibling, but even without that, i think she'd have a soft spot for him. defending him against the clave, etc.

scott & christopher argent jr. i like the idea of exploring a dynamic with allison's brother. that's something that scott never had to do in canon, and with a brother that's even more involved in the family business, even if he isn't after him like his father ( initially ), mother, grandfather and aunt were.

scott & liam, i love this dynamic !! scott's first beta, which he has so much guilt about and it's his responsibility and he messes up but he loves that kid and he wants to protect him ugh, give me scott and liam all the time, every day.

hayley & donovan, there's the past with tyler that i think would be really interesting for hayley to interact with his kid. especially when he's attending the same school as her kid.

hayley & klaus, my otp, i honestly don't care if it's romantic, sexual, platonic, familial, these two and their dynamics have a grip on my heart. i will always, always want to write everything about them. canon, divergence, au's - give me it all.

katniss & finnick, like these two lost their minds together in thirteen and i will never be over their friendship. it is the LAST person katniss ever thought she'd be friends with but he ended up one of her best friends and i will forever sob about them. i love them, all dynamics, including an au where the rebellion never happened and katniss ended up a capitol puppet just like him. *side eyes*.

sam&dean & lennox, give me winchester sibling things. a littlest sibling for dean to be responsible for, a little sister for sam to also be responsible for. like there's so much potential here. sam not being the "baby" is ... interesting, because john and dean trying to "shelter" him is a major part of who he is.

i’ve read trillions of marauders fan fics and not one has mentioned snape using legilemency

IMAGINE THE POTENTIAL DRAMA

‘snape stood before sirius, a seething look of anger flickering in his eyes. he looked deranged. sirius clenched his wand tight in his hand, watching as snapes expression slowly morphed from one of anger to concentration. it was almost as if he was trying to look inside of sirius. and then it crashed down like a wave. every thought in his head, overtaking his vision until he couldn’t see anything a foot in front of him. blurry versions of his mother appeared before him, screaming at him in a distorted screech. and then it flicked to him winning the quidditch game last thursday, and james running over to tackle him into a hug. the cheering from the stands filled his ears in a crowded buzz, as it quickly was pulled into silence. fear pricked at his neck as he saw remus before him. his palms went clammy and a cold sweat broke on his forehead as his point of view changed and suddenly he was looking at himself with remus, as he leaned in… and just like that he was thrown back into reality. and snape was back in front of him. grinning deviously. and with just one look, realisation crashed down all around sirius, swallowing him. his mouth went dry as he stared at the greasy black haired boy before him. he knew. he knew.’ … :| like tell me you wouldn’t read that. tell me that wouldn’t create some beautiful chefs kiss angst.

There is such a potential on "lost on the sea" Idea.

In your post there is the implication Athena smh made it meanwhile Bobby didn't, right?

Watching the perspectives of all these characters dealing with this "loss" would be just so *chef kiss*, because the fandom does believe Bobby's death would be the one to impact the characters the most (the polls don't like). Also imagine getting Bobby's perspective in the middle of the characters perspectives while dealing with this loss? For the show to play with the scenes and emotions, leading the audience to believe they're watching the characters mourning Bobby at the same time they're watching Bobby's path to death, but he is actually found alive in the end??? Also imagine if in that perspective we got a "I'm not making, am I?" moment from him and Bobby's monologue is about how he does not want to die (the biggest contrast with his character in S1) on how he wants to see Athena, May, Buck, Chim Hen and Eddie again, to the point he even apologizes to his late kids for wanting them wait a little longer for him...

You! You get it! I WANT all the angst of people thinking Bobby is lost and losing hope that they are going to find him alive, but without the actuality of Bobby being dead. I LOVE too when the audience is in on it so WE know the character is okay because it makes it exciting to know that the person is coming back and the moment everyone realizes it's going to be okay. I think it would be a delicious way to add some tension to the opening and really let us see inside the character's heads which I feel we have been missing a lot lately, and a chance for the firefam to pull together as a family the way we SHOULD have seen in 6x11 but were robbed of to make the Buckley parents the center of attention for some reason.

Also I really love what you said about the contrast to season 1 and us getting to see Bobby FIGHT to get back home, to LIVE because he wants to live! We could get some good Survival Dad Bobby scenes too with him taking care of the other survivors and getting everyone working together to survive, and we could get some really great firefam stuff. Buck and Athena would be a great duo to see but you KNOW Hen and Chim would devastate us too, and Eddie...whooo boy you know Ryan would destroy everyone. It would be a great way to have May come back for a bit and have some good emotional work to do that leaves an impact since the actress is focusing more on school and not filming as much.

I just think it would be such a neat opener with lots of good emotional beats to draw the audience in while still showing that the heart and soul of the show is still rooted in hope and in the found family aspect that's been a bit lacking lately. And everyone in the cast can deliver when it comes to big emotional scenes and I think we as the audience after the past couple seasons of suffering, deserve to see them all break down at once about Bobby, but without having to actually lose Bobby.
