Campaign: Iron and Brine

Since the beginning, mortal artifice has only had one aim: to stand against the storms and calamities of our world and say “no more”. Sure we get distracted trying to build a better mousetrap, your clockwork armies, your time controlling clocks and the like, but all if it is rooted in the desire to shield those we love from reality’s next ruinous blow.

... and in some cases, to hit back

Looking for a subtly steampunk maritime adventure? One that begins with a little mystery and a rather daring con, moves on to dungeon delving, subterfuge, pirate raids and ends with a Pacific Rim style clash between a seamonster and a giant robot piloted by the party? You might not have been looking when you started reading but I bet you are now.

Campaign Start: The Duchy of Alanath is a beacon of progress towards the coming age, airships carrying cargo between most major settlements, advanced naval batteries defending the shore from pirates and worse, secret projects up in hidden mountain foundries that will forever tip the balance of power. , but the root of all this industry threatens to come to a grinding halt when the goods exchange in the Harbour of Breeker’s Bay threatens to turn into a riot.

Dispatched by benefactors with concerns about the market, or merely in town and caught up in all the chaos, the party will either have to get to the bottom of what’s caused this gridlock, or figure out a way to turn the crisis to their benefit, without getting taken advantage of by more shady characters looking to do the same. Regardless of where the party end up, they’ll eventually come into the service of a shadowy schemer with unintentionally heroic goals, who will set the party towards all manner of inadvertent good deeds before having them get to the bottom of the conspiracy at the heart of the duchy’s problems.

Early Game:

Preparations to sail out on the evening tide have been completely derailed when the party realizes the crew of the ship they were attempting to board have been slaughtered, and they’ve stumbled upon the killers in the midst of deposing of the bodies. These killers are no mere pirates, but a cult of cuthroats from the deep who’re looking to intimidate local smugglers and pirates into obedience.

Follow a trail of on-land drownings to discover a merfolk priestess cutting her way through the duchy’s exotic animal dealers. Her niece has been kidnapped for a noble’s menagerie, but does rescuing a child really condone such savage methods?

The party’s patron sees a means of getting close to their target, a fretful and oft distracted duke, by hunting a great beast that’s marauding around the borders of his territory. This hunt goes a bit awry when the beast crashes into an ancient ruin hidden beneath the surface of a lake, which the party will need to explore if they want to deliver a killing blow to their target.

Mid Game

A ship of famed treasure hunters has beached itself miles up the coast, the crew scattering to the winds. After delving the wreck and tracking down some of the sailors aboard, the party discover that they defiled an altar to an ancient sea goddess, and now a monster from the depths is due to hit the nearby port any day now.

Break up a fight between two of the Duke’s most trusted advisors, an arcanist and an artificer, and then escort the artificer on an expedition to some far off ruin under mysterious pretenses. This is the party’s best chance to discover what the Duke’s secret project really is.

Foil an assassination attempt against their patron, Racing against time to save his life and track down the source of the attack. Even if the party manage to pull him back from death, they’ll need to seek out a great act of healing or alchemy to permanently undo the damage.

Throughout their adventure, the party will be hounded by the Duke’s all seeing spymaster, a woman with strange powers and an undying loyalty to her liege. Do the party take her out to fulfill their objectives, or can they convince her that their actions are innocent, and earn a powerful ally in the process?

Late Game

Infiltrate a massive, hidden foundry high in the mountains where a titan sized construct is being assembled piece by piece. A kingdom destroying weapon in the wrong hands, the party will face a difficult choice in joining with the duke’s forces to see the construct completed, halting its progress through sabotage, or finding a means of triggering a meltdown in the robot’s arcane engines.

Hitting the self-destruct button on the giant robot might be a bad idea, as the arcane energies that gave the thing both power and defence, once destabilized, will tare a hole through the fabric of reality and give the party many more problems to deal with than just a petty duke and his tin soldier.

Surprise Surprise! That cult that was chopping up sailors back at the start? Turns out they’ve managed to lure a kaiju into working with them, a terrifying beast that’s capable of summoning tsunami-level tidal waves, meaning it’s capable of levelling coastal ports but attacking any settlement connected to the duchy’s central waterways. If the party has been paying attention to the signs of this cult’s escalating threat, they may be able to convince the power players of the campaign to work together to defeat this beast... if not, the party might’ve just sabotaged their primary means of fighting back against it.

◟ SUPPLEMENTING COMPENDIUM ◝ → DEAD N30N

here you will find a composition of people + places you may see mentioned in future roleplay posts, should you interact with Nour or Solstice in a universe adjacent or pertaining to the world of dead n30n. ( or, if you so desire to, even decide to inject your own character into dead n30n's universe for an interesting twist! ) you are more than welcome to use this as a reference for any reason pertaining to roleplay, and questions are always welcomed.

𝐒𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐏𝐒𝐈𝐒: DEAD N30N takes place in a futuristic universe blending a unique mixture of my favourite aesthetics; cyberpunk, steampunk, and cosmic eldritch fantasy. utilizing heavy biblical analogies, as well as borrowing names & places found directly in the bible, DEAD N30N is a lovemail/hatemail of my own personal complication with religious upbringing and the associated trauma. DEAD N30N is also meant to systematically deconstruct gender & sexual norms, both of which are social constructions created by humans, and is absent of homophobia and transphobia. Solstice themselves is a strong example of the absence of a strict gender identity as a norm, and as you follow their life in the city of Hellix, you will explore their personal views of gender, sex, and sexual orientation through the eyes of a creature that was born in a place where none of those things exist. because as alluded to in the bible.... angels have no gender, genitals, or sexual identity :]

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐗: This is the focal point for a majority of the novel's progression. While other cities and states exist outside of Hellix, the Earth is not the same as it once was; having suffered an apocalyptic destruction some hundreds of years prior to Hellix's formation. Humanity was not nearly wiped out, but it it definitely struggled for a while. Hellix is considered the 'Capitol' of the New Earth, as it's referred to, and the main hub for the majority of the rest of it's surrounding cities, states, and countries. Hellix consists primarily of dazzling, sprawling & impressive architecture reaching high toward the sky. It is a blend of metal and machinery, as much of mankind is now blended with machinery. AI is incredibly rampant throughout the city, and it's mandatory that every human being born is to be assigned one.

𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐔𝐌: ( referring to the capitol city Iconium found in ancient Lycaonia mentioned in the bible, it was the destination for Paul and Barnabas as their first missionary journey ) Iconium is known as the largest manufacturer of AI & robotech in the entire New Earth. It is ran by a gentle-hearted billionaire named Jade Reyes and her equally kind wife Rose Reyes. Iconium's original conception was a dream from Jade for the hope that all humans could live comfortable, happy lives with the assistance of a personalized AI, that gathers data about you from the moment you're born, and grows and adapts alongside you as you grow and adapt. Iconium is constantly developing and upgrading it's technology with the hopes of making life as bearable and comfortable as possible for every human. Because of Iconium, homelessness and starvation are only a distant memory of the past.

𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐒: ( the first; the beginning. also called 'The Book of Genesis' in the bible, detailing the beginning of time itself ) is actually the first planet in the entire universe that God created, and the home of the angels. It originally resided in the hidden-away star cluster of Lazarus, but later had to be relocated after an unexpected event took place. Genesis is also nicknamed heaven, because humans were unaware that the two are actually one in the same.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐙𝐀𝐑𝐔𝐒 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: ( referring to the brother of Martha and Mary who died in his sleep, and was later resurrected by Jesus as a testament to his miracles ) this is a small cluster of stars hidden beyond the pillars of creation that separates humanity from the divine. Herein lay the first home of the angels, before a tragedy ( an error on God's part ) caused the untimely destruction of the constellation, forcing God to relocate the planet. Genesis now resides in a new, unnamed star-cluster. Lazarus is now nicknamed NEON DEATH for it's stunning, neon-coloured wasteland of dead stars and broken planets. ( for a better visual, imagine the splasharts of the Empyrean skinline in league of legends. this is partially where i took inspiration ). Who destroyed the Lazarus Constellation and what triggered that event is a secret later revealed in the book :]

𝐏𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: ( image here ) is the gate separating humanity from the divine. It is theorized that if one is able to successfully pass between the gates, they will be able to freely wander among the angels and the gods. However, heaven and divinity are nothing like how they're painted in the interpretation through human eyes, and those stupid enough to try and test those waters are quickly exposed to the true horrors beyond.

𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐔𝐍 𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐘𝐑: the hard-headed, fight-loving angel personification of the planet of Genesis. Yes, you heard that right, Argun is literally Genesis in angelic form. It's still uncertain how the spirit of Genesis was able to be born as a half-human, half-angel, but God theorizes it may be because the planet is so well loved by the angels that it's beating heart became it's own spirit; and that spirit was birthed through a child. Argun is tied to Solstice ( Eden Cielo ) through the red string of fate. Their lives are forever meant to cross one another, and love is in their future. How that relationship develops, however, will be left to the progression of the story :]

𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐏𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐀𝐖𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐄: A young, green-haired morally grey angel who was known as the top doctor in heaven. He was previously married to Argun Maltyr, before the two mutually agreed to split up and simply exist as friends. Something... unnatural lurks behind Juniper's unassuming composition, and his ambitions are a mystery even to his closest friend, Argun Maltyr. What destiny awaits him is decided in the journey he chooses to take alongside Argun in tracking down Solstice on planet Earth.

𝐅𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐒 𝐂𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐔𝐗: ( latin for lucky and wordplay on the life of someone who is very unlucky ) she is known as The Architect and responsible for the initial design behind much of Hellix's more modern technological look. She's also Iconium's top mechanic, and in charge of the latest & most innovative designs for every new AI they produce. She is the person who first discovers Eden as they descend into Earth, and decides to take care of them. She teaches them about humans & human life, how to act like a human and be human. She provides them with the necessary data they desire, and regularly works on keeping their physical body up to date and in working condition. The two of them do wind up falling in love and even getting married, but their future is a mystery only discovered in the book :] Faustus as a person and her lifestyle are also a mystery

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐓: a place in heaven where angels who commit sins against God's design are tried and convicted for their crimes. This was originally Eden's first job, but was later passed down onto an angel named Remus, who admired Solstice and longed to be like them. Because God himself was incapable of keeping up on all his creations ( being an all-loving omnipotent presence that existed literally EVERYWHERE ) he had to design a place -- and a person, that could handle these things in his stead. This is how The Gold Court came to be, and how Solstice's first job was assigned to them.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐍: this is the capitol city of the planet Genesis, and Eden/Solstice's birthplace. The Garden of Eden is often referred to as the place where mankind's first sin took place ( Eve eating from the apple tree ) but it is also known as the place where an angel's first sin took place. That angel in question was none other than Lucifer himself. Because of Lucifer's desire for power, his corruption of humans caused the Garden of Eden to be a center point for both human & angelic sin alike.

𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐀 𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐍: The infamous angel assigned as Eden/Solstice's guardian in heaven, and who later followed them down onto earth where they were separated for a time. He was one of God's top commanders in the angelic army, and later became a data pirate on earth, dealing in the well-kept secrets of the most corrupt politicians & billionaires on earth. Through his work he was able to expose and condemn a number of awful, evil people still living comfortable lives they didn't deserve on Earth, all the while keeping a watchful, silent eye on Eden from afar. He is the guardian first and foremost, and takes that job very seriously. On earth he later falls in love with a human named Emiko and they marry, having a child by the name of Eamon later on. Emiko, Eamon and Sana are like an adoptive family to Eden.

𝐆𝐎𝐃: finally we get on the last important character you'll often see mentioned in the book; God himself. Just who is he? We don't actually know; but we do know that the bible-to-human interpretation of him is very wrong. God is both man and woman, and nothing at all. He is love and hate, happiness and despair. She is kind and strict, cautious and reckless. Curious and arrogant. God is everything... all things. She has no body, no corporeal form, and not even Eden or Nour know what God actually looks like. What we do know is God has a plan, a purpose for the universe, and hides their true intentions within a secret coding they've buried deep inside Solstice.

Ok. So. I've been adding things to the Ginormous-Multichapter-Fic-of-Doom. I have settled on 10. So there will be ten randomly rotating fics in one compendium worthy of any half-decent mage. In alphabetical order by working title or whatever random bullshit I've named the folders just bc that's how I organise them (and hiding them under the cut bc I'm adding *・☆descriptions☆・*):

The long-awaited Galtean Leakira fic that I first posted about on my main so many months ago. tl;dr version - cyberpunk version of the Galra Empire takes over Marmora, Altea, and the human city-state of Garrison, no one's fully human if at all, Shiro and Keith's dad are missing, and Lance is on his own but also has a Very Important Thing that might be able to help them get rid of the Galra.

I'm Yours (yes, after the Jason Mraz song) which I posted the outline to here a little while back. Writer/barista/bartender Keith and musician Lance with not-so-supportive parents, getting together, and working through their issues

This one doesn't have anything close to a name yet, just marked as klangst al/ok (alpha Lance/omega Keith) in my wips folder. But this is the plot bunny I've talked about before. The one with the stress, and the drama, and the angst, and the Klance spawn. I'm not sure how spoilery I should be with this one, so I'll just leave it here. There will also be two prequel parts to cover a few of the things in canon that I judiciously remodeled

Let Sleeping Lions Roar is next. This oddly enough was inspired by a cover of a song from Warframe of all places (holy shit that game is so goddamn pretty). This one's a little weird as it's 10,000 years post-canon with some significant changes. Allura didn't sacrifice herself, and the castle still stands, the lions sleeping in their hangars, and the legend saying that the paladins will return when they're needed. And they're needed.

The reverse fake relationship one with alpha Keith and omega Lance. Instead of trying to pass off a fake relationship as the real thing, they have to convince a planet on the fence about joining the Coalition that their relationship is real, starting with what led up to their mating in the first place all the way back in the Garrison (it's Lance's parents, mostly his mother)

Another one without a name (sensing a pattern here), but this is part royal au, part magic, a little Victorian/Steampunk and has an assassination attempt, a secret plot to usurp the throne, a surprise reunion, and a couple dumbasses falling disgustingly in love

The Single Parent Klance au where they're both 32ish, Keith trans and has a 16 yo daughter, Lance's little girl is only 4, both are painfully single for different reasons, but a 16 yo getting a new babysitting job might just fix that last problem, even if there are a few bumps in the road

Currently, and most likely temporarily, named The Howling, next is a werewolf au. Alpha Keith and omega Lance have a brief fling during an inter-pack meeting, leaving Lance with a surprise souvenir. Meanwhile another pack is planning something, no one knows what, and Lance is trying to keep his secret from his family. Let's see how that one works out for him

Ok, so, this one is entirely self-indulgent. I was actually a barista for the siren for ~3 years, and while talking about odd and/or regular customers, I got to thinking about a loosely connected oneshot/drabble series of Tales from the Coffeeshop. I will not allow them to work for a soulless corporation, so instead, it's an independent coffeeshop/bakery owned by Coran and run a bit more cooperatively. Some of the stories will be things that actually happened to me, some will be things that are totally plausible (trust me, I've seen things)

And last, a slightly more D&D-oriented Thunderpike soulmate au. I've made Pike into a bard, partially bc I felt like it, and partially bc I think it fits a little better. Keith (sorry, his emo-ness Thunderstorm Darkness) is a dual-wielding ranger with a celestial wolf animal companion. He's been tracking Pike for a while, ever since he first noticed the intangible silver thread connecting him. But this is them, and nothing is ever allowed to go smoothly

◟ CHARACTER VERSES ◝ : EDEN

Eden / Solstice is a very versatile character; they were designed specifically as such even in the book itself to allow for all different types of growth. this makes fitting them into alternate universes extremely easy. i would like to make a note and say that in their timeline, they are the most powerful creature known through the universe, save only for their maker. this does not, however, apply to other verses and out of respect for the fandoms i insert them into, i've significantly dumbed down their power to avoid any kind of god modding or discomfort. the list you find here is only a brief synopsis of each universe i've decided to toss them into. i will likely make more in depth versions of each one later on down the line. all of them will be linked individually on the character compendium you can find on my pinned post :>

001. MAIN UNIVERSE in the world of DEAD N30N, it is considered an apocalyptic future comprised of cyberpunk and steampunk aesthetics. the city of Hellix is Eden's stomping grounds, and the place where they've grown and evolved as an artificial angel since descending from heaven. DEAD N30N's universe is vast and unexplored, so inserting your character into this verse is extremely easy. but if you chose to interact with Eden in this place, you must take note that they are an artificial intelligence program straight from heaven. their mechanical and eldritch-esque presence is most prominent in this world, making them rather strange and even uncomfortable to interact with at times. their personality is only partially developed, and they struggle to exude human emotions with ease. their goal is to be human at all costs; and they believe themselves to exist as a servant to humans.

002. LEAGUE OF LEGENDS PROJECT: EDEN was revered as the end all be all trump card for Noxus to win the war against it's neighboring countries in it's conquest to own the map. Eden was a vastayan baby stolen from the depths of the Ionian forests in the hopes of fusing ancient magic with noxian machinery. however, as the Noxian soldiers descended to take the finished product and present it to Swain, it's creator Juniper Hawthorne put up a hefty resistance. he realized his creation had grown a heart and soul for itself, and wanted to do anything but force it to face the horrors of war. after witnessing the ruthless slaughter of their 'father', Eden Hawthorne, who adopted the name Solstice as a way to separate themselves from the evil they were originally created to do, broke free and fled Noxus. now it's on the run, hiding wherever it can and avoiding it's noxian pursuers.

003. LEAGUE OF LEGENDS: PILTOVER POPSTAR EDITION! takes place in the same universe as HEARTSTEEL. tied heavily to @goldenfists. | a young, rabbit-eared vastayan always dreamed of bringing what they loved most to the world stage; singing! but due to poor health and general fear that still lurked in human hearts for vastaya, this dream was a difficult one to accomplish. Eden Cielo ( stage name Solstice Maltyr ) grew up and lived a relatively peaceful life in the forests of Ionia. all of that would change when they finally decided to leave their homeland and enter into Piltover to chase their dream! with their older brother at their side && serving as their manager, they entered the city of Piltover and began their adventure! however, due to their fluctuating health, coupled with the rather nasty reception they were given at being a Vastaya, they were eventually confined in a private, out-of-the-way hotel where they could rest and operate in another way. they discovered 'virtual idols' and decided to become one as a good starter; created their avatar, and began putting on performances online exclusively! soon enough their popularity had skyrocketed and it wouldn't be long now before Solstice could reveal their identity to the public and hoped it would be a better reception than the first time. their goal? to be as well loved && accepted as Sett is! because if a vastaya like him could be adored in the spotlight, then couldn't they too?

004. GENSHIN IMPACT during the golden age of the archons lived a lesser god named Faustus. she ruled & protected over a small village in the outskirts of what would later become Mondstat. so much did she love the humans she governed over that she gifted them a guardian; a mechanical angel fashioned under her own magic by the name of Eden. when war began to break out amongst the gods and the archons, Eden was given strict instructions to take the humans of the village underground and protect them at all costs. they did this without question, knowing full well Faustus wouldn't survive the war, weak as she was. && they were right. Faustus perished in the war, but the humans of that village lived on under Solstice's careful protection. that village eventually became a legend passed down through generations of Mondstat's people and told as a fairytail, not knowing that somewhere deep beneath them that village still lived on. their generations survived and lived on, and remain safely hidden from the outside world under Eden's careful protection. perhaps though... one day someone might discover the secret door that leads to where they are? if they can survive Solstice's domain, first, however.

005. ONE PIECE neither human nor mink, a small child is born with tattoos of the constellations splashed over it's body. the baby is believed to be blessed by the moon itself, and grows up living a relatively normal life among the minks. it carries physical traits of the minks ( rabbit ears, a tail, even startling speed and incredible agility ) but also looks quite human. it's given the name Eden, and nicknamed Solstice because it was born during the autumn solstice. it's best friend is a young mink named Argun Maltyr who... to nobody's surprise... is the one they wind up falling in love with. Argun dreams of being a pirate & Eden dreams of being a doctor, so when the two are of age, they set sail together! their voyage is short, as their ship is marooned on a handful of islands. they decide to settle with the villagers for a while and intend to get married, until the day of their wedding when pirates strike && kill everyone, including Eden's beloved. stricken by grief and rage, Eden literally obliterates the pirates and tosses their remnants into the sea. afterward, they remain on the island and rumor of it being haunted by the 'violent lunar rabbit' begin to spread throughout it's neighboring islands. no one dares go near it for fear of their life. deep down Eden still dreams of being a doctor and longs to go out to sea, but is rather bristly and even violent with intruders, especially pirates.

006. DEATH NOTE 23-year-old Eden Cielo is overworked and underpaid as the primary medical examiner for the corpses of Kira's victims. originally from America, Eden later relocates to Japan due to their expertise and smart wits. the Japanese police force believe that Eden can somehow find clues to Kira's whereabouts through the bodies of his victims, and they think Eden can do that. big surprise: they cannot. what's worse, Eden feels this is not only a waste of their time, but also an extreme annoyance because the bodies won't stop piling up and a part of them wants to throw in the towel and hunt Kira themselves to give him a piece of their mind. they think his ideals are ridiculous and too far-fetched. fortunately, they never get the chance to actually go down that potentially life-threatening path, but they certainly do take the time to give the investigators a piece of their mind.

007. JUJUTSU KAISEN perceived as the government's greatest failure, 23 year-old Eden Cielo ( named PROJECT: SOLSTICE ) is kept under close wraps by the ones who created them. some time ago a child with absolutely no significant qualities was born; making it the perfect candidate for the government's experiments. their goal was the create a special-grade curse user with complete autonomous obedience toward the government, and the best way to do that was to take an ordinary human and turn it into something extraordinary. their fused it with machinery, believing this would be key into keeping Eden submissive, and spent years perfecting the thing... only for it to drastically fail in their eyes. it was a success, yes! the child eventually developed special-grade powers, the ability to create a domain called the garden of eden ; but it also failed. you see, it developed a soul, a mind of it's own, and emotions. it's power was only a fraction of what Gojo Satoru's was; it was meant to replace him, to avoid relying on a wild card, but it'd never come even close to what he is. however, it's still strong and trying to kill it proved to be very difficult, so the government keeps Eden under lock and key to avoid them from rebelling. it dreams of freedom, but can it ever have that? it's older brother is certainly working to make that a dream, still incredibly bitter his younger sibling was taken away from him all those years ago.

Untitled (Based on my studies into collected works of medical illustration found in the contemporary books of Richard Barnet, in particular his book called ‘The Sick Rose’ 2014, this images being based on a sufferer of rupia, a skin condition which results from syphilis, causing deep redness and later crusted on the surface of the skin)

42. Untitled (Made out of inspiration from the works of Zidzslaw Beksinski, that of dusty landscapes and amorphous portraits who blend into and become said landscapes, this piece almost looking like blood in the snow, no idea why I painted that but I suppose I was thinking subconsciously about how Beksinski visualises scenes of war and decimation through the portraits of the entities he paints so interpret what you will)

Untitled (Based on my research from the 41st piece again featured here, this time a sufferer of leprosy is envisaged, that of the corrupt and crusting skin, not too dissimilar to the first woodblock piece mentioned in the last post, that of death and desecration worn as a mask by humanity, leprosy in particular having immense biblical connotations and often representing the wrath of god in the flesh, the story of Job in particular comes to mind, even though it’s not actually leprosy, just the idea of wrath as creating plagues, which can create lesions, boils and necrotic flesh is quite the common ailment in the bible in particular. This being synonymous with sin as being a factor of the flesh of man and is not an entirely eternal concept)

44. Untitled (Inspired by "Myologie Complette en Couleur" by Jacques Fabien Gautier d'Agoty 1746, a medical compendium of anatomical paintings and sketches, this image being based on a image of a throat and jaw dissection)

Untitled (Based this image on examples of 19th century dentistry equipment, in particular, steel test heads with fake or real teeth inserted into fake gums, this once being a very popular tool for dentistry students, and is favoured by me due to it’s unsettling sheen and uncanny appearance, almost as if it were the decapitated head of a golem or steampunk android, the contrast between it’s realistic teeth and shiny top face is certainly an image that sticks with you)

Untitled (Refer to pieces 41 and 43 for context of the author, this time the book was titled ‘Crucial Inventions’ 2015 by Richard Barnet, this piece was painted in tribute to the book’s front cover, the reason why I even bought the book was because of the image on the cover so I value it’s aesthetic very much. it is a medical illustration of a man covered in clamps and compression pads to stop bleeding in his neck and head from his carotid and axillary arteries)

Untitled (I based this image on the posters created after WW1 to support the returning veterans and promoting plastic surgery as the latest innovation to fix their broken faces, this being in response to the culture between veterans that had formed as a result of their neglect by the government and proper aftercare services once they came home, creating the term and culture of ‘Gueules cassées’ (the french phrase for broken faces) to represent the generation that survived and yet never came back the same as they left)

I’m Locke! ➺ I’m a 21 y/o rising senior in college, majoring in psychology ➺ I’ve been writing for nearly eight years now, and after all that time, I actually have some idea of what I want to do with my work ➺ When I’m not writing, I draw, play video games, read, cross stitch, bullet journal, and dabble in photography during my free time ➺ Some of my favorite games are Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Coral Island, Guild Wars 2, Spiritfarer, and The Evil Within

My Writing ➺ My work probably fits quite loosely under fantasy, but I often dip into all sorts of genres, including but not limited to poetry, steampunk, dystopian, science fiction, supernatural, and more ➺ I’m polyamorous. My characters are polyamorous. Relationship webs are complicated and I love them dearly. ➺ I have quite a few WIPs on the backburner due to my rather chaotic writing style, with only one being a finished first draft. WIP // Fable

➺ My tale is an old one. That much should be quite clear. It is not, however, as it has been told... For in a memory as old as mine, there is a truth worth seeking; a light worth following. Perhaps in the candor of my tale, others will find the necessary inspiration to continue on toward their own light.

Summary

A fairytale retelling in the form of a journal come to life. Written by Myhren, or ‘Merlin’ as they may be better known, Fable contains lifetimes of experiences and the truth behind the fairytales we all know and love.

Fable mainly focuses on the stories of King Arthur, Camelot, Merlin, and associated characters. It is written from Myhren’s point of view, with some discrepancies due to the nature of their immortal life and their experience within a time loop. Entries are not all seemingly in order. Instead, the writings follow Myhren’s stream of consciousness.

Status This is an ongoing, very long term WIP of mine. I’ve written some pieces, and brainstormed others. I’ll be releasing new entries as I complete them. Phase: It’s complicated.

Summary

A clock is ticking in the mist and fog; people have begun to vanish right off the streets, and dark knowledge is kept from the common folk. Thrust into an unknown world, it is up to you to bring corruption to light and save the clockwork city of Iane. Can you find the Minutemage Coin and open the doors before it's too late?

Status Phase: Brainstorming. I’ll be designing items, NPCs, locations, creatures, enemies, and more. Eventually, I plan on making it into a physical guide and an RPG!

WIP // A Ghost, a Quill, and a Mockingbird

➺ Something in her remembers her past; a part of her that stands tall in the face of another's rage. Mountainous strength, hidden within a mouse. Confidence born of past instinct, of power, of creation and abandonment; Yet her conscious betrays none of it. Her spite does nothing to reveal what she had been so desperate to forget; what her rage continues to remember, impressively extreme for such tame, conscious memory.

Summary

Ghost has lived her entire life in an underground bunker on the planet Serus. The last of her kind after a swarm of vitians invaded her world and slaughtered her people, she spends her days in blissful spite where the vitians are unable to reach her. It's not in any way peaceful, of course, to hear the screaming from outside the bunker, but as long as she has her music and drink to keep her company, she figures she'll be able to live a nice, conflict free life. That is, until her simple day-to-day life becomes a bit more interesting; a little more chaotic. Her god has returned, and he's not at all what she expected, nor does he seem all that keen on leaving her alone.

Status I’m proud to say that GQM, while my eighth existing wip, is the first to have a completed first draft! Phase: Paused. While I take a step back and move onto other things before revising, adding, and rewriting!
