So, one of our tasks in school is to act out a script (that lasts around 5 minutes) that we wrote. We have (less than) 2 weeks to memorize our lines, prepare props, all of that.

How? Is there like things we can do to practice? Should I start assigning tasks to everyone?

TWO GRUMPY THEATER NERDS

after seeing this very important post by @picnicbitchsokka​, i was compelled to draw two theater nerd boyfriends absolutely disgusted with the ember island players latest adaptation of another classic... they like complaining together though:)

also, i didn’t really think about WHEN this is, but i suggest interpreting this as: contemporary tattoo artist zuko and skater boy sokka going to the theater, in cosplay of their favorite characters :D

Do we ever think about how when Kenjaku and Choso were about to have this dramatic battle where the stakes were super high that Kenjaku just sat their son down for a powerpoint presentation to show off their nerdy ass plans that only they are excited about. And then Choso was like 'Ok deadbeat what's you're point' and Kenjaku was like 'Ugh you don't get it 🙄 it's for fun 🥰.' Kenjaku just wants friends to engage in a little silliness with them lmao

This is just me being a nerd but I saw someone say that Rosie's voice didn't fit because of how extroverted she sounded.

As a musical theater nerd - I beg to differ.

The episode is called "Hello, Rosie". Cannibal Town literally looks like a scene ripped out of a turn-of-the-century picture that turns into a full blown music and dance routine that is straight out of:

Posting about it here, here's a cute habit of Bedman's in Japanese: having VERY obviously rehearsed lines!

These are the exact same line, they were translated differently in English but were originally the same. You can go listen to Midorikawa's take on them, and you can very much hear the excitement in his voice when he gets to use it. This also applies to the way he introduces himself (with similar excitement), and potentially more! I'm still looking through all the JP dialogue with some friends.

It's a shame this got lost in translation, because it's something that happens several times, meaning it was most likely intentional.

the thing about yonderland is that its so deeply weird and there's no explanation for it and there doesn't need to be. it's just a really strange show. and it's hysterical and heartfelt yeah but mostly it's like. what's the silliest group of guys we could come up with? okay now do that 50 more times. and also it'll take a lot of setting up and costuming and shit for a 30 second joke. and it rips.
