Last show choir competition of the season. So far this one seems kinda unorganized. Anyway, I'm glad a second middle school is competing (they just signed up this week).

Top 10 Horniest Bruce Springsteen songs, ranked
Yes there are more horny Bruce songs. Too many horny songs for one list. I don’t know if his game was good because he knew how to write horny songs, or if his game inspired him to write horny songs. Eiter way, we’ve been blessed musically with a lot of horny songs. Here’s the horny songs I managed to fit into a (very biased) list:
1.  I'm On Fire
THE horny Bruce song. A fever fantasy of a wet dream smushed into one moaning, sweaty mess. Before I was a fan, this (coupled with the below performance) was the song that made me go "OH. I get it now."
Spotify LINK
At night I wake up with the sheets soaking wet And a freight train running through the middle of my head Only you can cool my desire
youtube
2.  Pink Cadillac
About as subtle as Lady Gaga’s “Disco Stick.” Even better paired with the BITUSA tour intro (said intro got noticeably more sexual after Bruce got married in 1985).
Spotify LINK
They say Eve tempted Adam with an apple But man I an’t goin for that I know it was her pink Cadillac
youtube
3. Fire
Originally written for Elvis, the bass line alone for this #problematic 70s “don't play coy with me” number will make you reconsider feminism for 5 minutes. The 1986 performance is downright NSFW.
Spotify LINK
You had a hold on me right from the start A grip so tight I couldn't tear it apart
youtube
4. The Fever
Bruce is king of the “lying in bed thinking of how horny this person makes me” genre, and this is one of his finest examples. At almost 8 minutes, it’s the tantric equivalent to the more concentrated "I’m on Fire". Anybody noticing a “burning” theme here?
Spotify LINK
Well now the day grows longer The love just grows stronger, baby And the fever gets so bad at night I got the fever for the girl
youtube
5. Because The Night
Bruce never finished the lyrics, and this song arguably belongs to Patti Smith now. Bruce has even said as much. However, I am biased and enjoy this banger too much to let technicalities get in the way of horny. On the list it goes.
Spotify LINK
Because the night belongs to lovers Because the night belongs to lust Because the night belongs to lovers Because the night belongs to us
youtube
6. Red Headed Woman
I'm Going Down may seem raunchy until you realise it's about a bad breakup. For the other thing, we have this entry. Folks, this song is literally about eating pussy. Bruce even introduced it as such during his Ghost of Tom Joad tour. I’ve yet to recover from the whiplash of hearing him say the word “cunnilingus” while performing at his old Catholic high school.
Spotify LINK
Well listen up stud Your life's been wasted 'Til you've been down on your knees and tasted A red headed woman
youtube
7. She's The One
Speculated to have been written about the violinist who played on the album Born To Run, this tune shows our boy is down baaad. Best paired with the excellent "Mona" intro, which is included in the Houston '78 live performance below.
Spotify LINK
With her killer graces and her secret places That no boy can fill with her hands on her hips Oh and that smile on her lips Because she knows that it kills me
youtube
8. Part Man, Part Monkey
My Tunnel of Love tour knowledge is woefully lacking despite the tour being his most explicit, and the accompanying album being in my top 3. In the eyes of the public, Bruce was still with his first wife when this video was shot in 1988. Only the band knew he was recently separated, so imagine watching a presumably married man on stage eye-fucking his backup singer. The gossip mill must have been insane after each show.
Spotify LINK
Well the night is dark, the moon is full The flowers of romance exert their pull We talk awhile, my fingers slip I'm hard and crackling like a whip
youtube
9. Crush On You
Another genre this Jersey dude excels at is “horny to the point of funny.” Bruce himself has called it "the worst song we ever put on a record" but hey, what does he know.
Spotify LINK
For one kiss, darling I swear everything I would give 'Cause she's a walking talking reason to live
youtube
10. Cover Me
I just realised this is only one of four songs on this list included on an official Springsteen album(if you don't count the outtake compilations.) The video contains the studio audio, but I'm not passing on an excuse to plug more Paris '85 concert footage!
Spotify LINK
Now promise me baby you won't let them find us Hold me in your arms, let's let our love blind us Cover me, shut the door and cover me I'm looking for a lover who will come on in and cover me
youtube
Honourable mentions (song/album):
Rosalita / The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle Candy's Room / Darkness on the Edge of Town Ramrod / The River Cindy / The River (outtakes) Ain’t got you / Tunnel of Love The Fuse / The Rising
Let me know if you think I missed any! I won't change the list, but more horny song discourse is always good.

Prompt - Tragedy
@jegulus-microfic December 9 Word count 541
Regulus stepped into the hotel function room, following his brother. Sirius’s Christmas work party was already in full swing. The invite had said 70’s disco-themed.
Everyone was in flares and brightly coloured tops or dresses. There were far too many sequins in close proximity for Regulus’s liking. Sirius was dressed in a perfect replica of John Travolta’s suit from Saturday Night Fever. His long, curly hair made him look even more like he should have been a teenager in the 70’s rather than now.
Regulus had outright refused to dress up. Instead, opting for a simple white shirt, open at the collar and black jeans. He looked hot, and he knew it.
Regulus made his way to the bar. If he had to be here, he was at least going to make full use of the open bar. Sirius followed after him.
Remus was leaning against the bar, waiting for them with drinks for them both. Regulus gladly took his.
“Thanks.” He told Remus, who nodded back at him. Sirius downed his and ran out onto the dance floor, ready to show off all the dance moves he’d been practising for the last week.
Regulus was just starting on his second drink and wondering how long he had to stay before he could leave.
Someone shouted. “Woohoo!” When the Bee Gees started playing, making Regulus jump.
There, in the middle of the dance floor, wearing a truly outrageously, loud shirt, was a tall, broad, black-haired, spectacled man. Regulus had never seen him before. But he had a sudden urge to meet him, even if he was dancing to disco music.
“That’s James,” Remus told him, without being prompted. “He’s new.” He pushed himself away from the bar and out onto the dance floor to drag Sirius away with him into a dark corner. Regulus, rolled his eyes when his brother ended up dragging Remus, once he understood the other man's intentions.
He looked back at the dance floor, and James was staring at him. He was mouthing something at Regulus. It took him a moment to realise he was mouthing the song's lyrics.
Tragedy
When the feeling's gone, and you can't go on, It's tragedy
When the morning cries and you don't know why, it's hard to bear
With no one to love you, you're going nowhere
Tragedy
When you lose control, and you got no soul, it's tragedy
When the morning cries and you don't know why, it's hard to bear
With no one beside you, you're going nowhere.
Regulus felt a shiver shoot through him and looked down at his arms. Goosebumps. Well, that’s something new.
“Hi, I’m James.” James was suddenly in front of him. “And it would be a tragedy if we never officially met. Can I get you another drink?” Regulus was so stunned by James’s forwardness and terrible pick-up lines. That all he could do was nod and follow James to the bar. He heard Sirius yell across the room.
“Get in there Reggie!” But ignored him, focusing instead on the way James’s eyes flashed as the disco light bathed him in colours.
It didn’t take long before they were in the back of a taxi on the way back to James’s flat.

Jensen already signing on for 2025 cons?? CE is clearly fishing for money (the cruise and now selling packages for this new 2025 con) which tells me 2024 is in the red or close to it. It reeks of desperation to be pushing 2025 cons when they haven't even had a 2024 con yet (when I sent this message at least).
And Jensen signing on so early.... do you think he's feeling pressure about the future? Maybe he's not landing the jobs he thought he would and is lining up cons just in case?
Link. to be fair it's early 2025 so far, but...yeah.
As you know, peak-TV is over even though TV business still accounts for 80% of the total advertising revenue. And we are supposedly in the "third act of the streaming wars" as streaming services are struggling to reach profitability. The movie box office sales are expected to be $8 billion in 2024, which is down 10% from 2023, and down 30% from 2019.
All this means is number of scripted shows will be halved, from peak 633 in 2022, then 481 in 2023, to 300 in coming years (source: market research firm Ampere Analysis). Development executives are taking longer to greenlight shows, even for projects from established showrunners.
So yeah, acting gigs are going to be tougher to come by and Jensen is taking the best current option.
I've always thought that everybody decided to lose their minds and dump millions into streaming services and shows that didn't have a chance in hell of being profitable.
Phase One: Streaming by borrowing money from Silicon Valley banks, get into massive debts by making whole bunch of shows that nobody watch in order to crowd out competitors.
Phase Two: Profitability. This means less shows, and an introduction of advertising.   So you aren’t getting unlimited content for 10 bucks a month forever. The math never made sense
Phase Three: Production spending will fall and budget for "prestige drama" will be cut from $10 million to $4.5 billion per episode. You know, like the good old days before everybody decided to lose their mind over streaming.
On the plus side, there could be another Indie boom akin to the '70s and see really weird niche genres like disco themed movies and artsy odd experimental ones, etc.

for my current and future followers My name is Azzie/Azznyx/Flem/Marlee and I'm a genderfluid special boy. I go by any/all pronouns! My current hyper fixation is the DCA but I also like wobble dogs, kinito pet, welcome home, steven universe, slime rancher, red dead (specifically II), any horror games, annnnd a lot more. My favorite hobby is drawing and crafting. Oh! and I love fursuiting. I don't have any finished drawings or good pictures but my four main fursonas are, Maru a kemono white and pink cat, Dove a golden retriever, Zig-Zag a black and white mutt, based on halloween, and lastly Erotica a opossum based on scenecore. Besides that, I love crafting, from cardboard to clay. I wish I knew how to sew, but I don't. So for now, HOT GLUE!! My music taste ranges from heavy HEAVY metal to pop, I don't really have any specific artists I love, but if I had to choose, Ayesha Erotica.
Rules-ish
This blog will entirely be SFW! It might show some suggestive themes, but never ever link, show, or talk about NSFW things. I want my blog to be a safe corner and family friendly.
This moves us onto what are you allowed to do. Fan art? PLEASE! Anything makes me extremely happy, even if you deem it horrible. Even if it’s a stick figure I’m going to hang it on my fridge. Any fan work please drown me in it!!
But, we have some rules. I think shipping is cute, but if it’s characters who are aro/ace and/or no interest in the subject please don’t ship them. You can also always ask me first! This leads us to.. please don’t draw my characters in a suggestive/nsfw way. Even if I do, that doesn’t necessarily make it allowed. Please ask beforehand. Romantic settings are fine.
Small side note: I do not like TSAMS, none of the stuff I post, or will post, is related to them. I do not wish to go in depth about it. Just letting some of you know as a handful of you like them. What do I use to draw? Traditionally, a mechanical pencil (wood pencils aren't my forte) Digitally, either my phone and finger or I use a Wacom One 13 which I got on sale! The apps I use are IbisPaintX or Magma.com. AUs? I have so many AUs it's wild. Recently Retired: Finsternis - High Fashion! GMG (Generic Motorcycle Game) Main: Disco? 70s! (@cherrybombfananzza) Chocolate Covered Strawberries or Snug as a bug in a Rug (@choclatecoveredstrawberries) I think that's a good cover-all, if you have any questions feel free to ask! I'm not judgy. :)

Im gonna ramble in your inbox for a bit lmao, I have a few ideas!
What about music themed?? Like music notes, treble clef, etc (idk a lot about musical notation honestly but ik theres a lot of symbols). My next thought was instruments but usually those are super detailed, like string and brass? A Harp?? The simplest i can think is like, some piano keys would make a cute design, or maybe just the headstock of a guitar! God, brass instruments would be so intense to make, i just looked at a saxaphone and I'm freaking out thinking of the detail and how impressive that would be. Or maybe physical media like a vinyl record or a little cassette tape? A little boombox, record player, or radio?
Going off of that, I think people really like decade themed/nostalgic stuff. I love 70s things personally so i may just be projecting, but i think 80s and 90s vibes are super popular! You could look at toys, technology, icons, and popular colors of an era, things like that and that might be inspiring!
Also thinking about summer themed designs since summer is coming up! Seasonal stuff is so cute and I notice people are always looking for little seasonal projects! Surfboards, beach umbrella, a fruity lil drink, are things that come to mind for me!
The more i write the more ideas i think of but this ask is already huge lmaooo so ill leave with these and hopefully its not overwhelming
First of all I will not be out-rambled in my own house lets gooo
These are all so good and sensible and fun! Thank you so much! I spent a day and a half sketching out just some of them (and going off an a few tangents), and there are a few already that I can't wait to actually pattern up and make <3
Tumblr media
Musical instruments and notation are both perfect and super hard for the format. They're so detailed, like you said, and their design is so specific; it's hard to know what can be fudged or elided without getting the whole thing irredeemably wrong. (I've had the same problem with birds and arthropods). Like, how many of the saxophone's fourteen-hundred eldritch appendages *do* I need to show? I could include them all, and the motif would be the size of a bedspread and take a month and a half to crochet, and I perversely want to do that now so thanks also for that.
Even in that keyboard motif (which, you'll have to trust me, is a very good likeness of Casio keyboard whose demo song was the soundtrack to my early childhood) is already over twice width of my largest typical designs, and it would have to be twice as big still for me to space the keys accurately.
Tumblr media
Decades are a great organizing conceit! They lend themselves to a kind of idiosyncratic hodgepodge that really appeals to me, and "random collection of old things that you remember" is a trope people don't seem to ever get sick of—and new things are getting old every day. They're also a way to ease into pop culture references, which I haven't really done, and which might offset some of my Debbie-Downer tendencies (when you suggested "70s things" my actual first thought was "what do quaaludes even look like?" My first idea for the 80s was "Margaret Thatcher demolishing a council house," and my thought process for the 90s went "Monica Lewinsky's dress, OJ Simpson's gloves, Tonya Harding's crowbar… NAFTA?" Terrible patches, all. What people want as a little picture of a sofa at a jaunty angle with a caption that says "PIVOT!").
Anyway. I'm especially excited to try the disco ball, the record and the off-brand Tamagotchi (I preferred Gigapets, personally). Those all have double-length diagonals that I've freehanded a few times and know to work at least okay, but which I haven't figured out how to notate. Oh! and I haven't got a beach umbrella that I like just yet, but the hurricane cocktail seems like a good way to kick off a summer collection—as long as I don't follow it up with, like a graph of yearly average temperatures, which is something I would absolutely do.

i relistened to some OK KO soundtracks earlier, and DAMN it goes so hard for a cartoon with a cute chibi style. had a realization we will never have another bomb 70s disco funk and jazz themed soundtrack like OK KO for years to come, like have u guys heard the extended opening theme?? holy shit wow, that groove is a KILLER. The “You Get Me” ost, Shannon’s jazz theme and Ernesto’s electro swing battle theme, and Carol’s Dojo - BANGERS (even if some of them are very short)
anyw in short, OK KO ost just rekindled my love for the show - its music, humour, funny style, and aesthetic. kinda saddened again that i remember it ended too early, but it’s a very special show in my heart and im glad it didn’t end too abruptly like Wander Over Yonder ;w;

okie i may be one curious lil book worm.:>, but what will be the animatronics, shura's and erys, Halloween costumes? :°, i love Halloween so that's why I'm mostly curious.:b (answer in characters cuz I bet its fun.:3) (i may draw the responses too sooooooo, note for gknight, make ya bloody prayers now cuz fairy floss and ery are comin' >:3)
This one I'm gonna answer out of character because admittedly, it's a bit easier. I can also go into better explanations and even show some pictures of the things I'm picturing.
We've talked about some fun generic Halloween costumes in the past. Such as Zavy being a Vampire, Fairy Floss being a Franken Creature like the Bride of Frankenstein, and Mirage being the Phantom of the Opera. I also really like thinking about some of them in different costumes.
Such as Mirage being a pumpkin-headed creature. I personally LOVE pumpkin-heads.
Tumblr media
Ery would be lovely to see in a princess or queen outfit of sorts. There was art I did of her a VERY long time ago when she was still a Hat In Time fan character where she became a queen.
Tumblr media
(Man this art is OLD. It was done 2 years ago. Please forgive how terrible it looks.)
I admittedly still like the idea of Fairy as the bride of Frankenstein, but I can also see her dressing up as Something like the Kotobukiya Halloween Michael Myers Bishoujo Statue.
Tumblr media
But you know, with considerably more blood. It's so far out of the norm from her usual, more girly clothes. I think it also fits her shockingly well.
When it comes to Zavy, honestly I'd like to either see him dressed up in some groovy 70's disco clothes, OR in the mafia outfit @snoozybub actually drew him in a while back when we joked in the discord server about a Mafia AU where everyone had bug-themed nicknames and Mirage was the Mob Boss. Zavy's mafia nickname was "The Wasp."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This may just be me wanting to see more of him in that particular outfit.
Though @frownatic did draw him in a VERY NICE looking Nun outfit.
Tumblr media
Last, but surely not least, we get into Shura. Shura's Halloween costume is NOT what you'd expect looking at their sweet face. Especially not when you take into account that they were raised VERY Christian. Shura's costume would essentially be an Eldridge horror cryptid type thing. The creature of the woods. Take a dress kind of like this one:
Tumblr media
but with DEEP leg slits that show off some skin. And then combine it with black body paint up their arms and legs almost like gloves and stalking's, some black face paint that looks like they've been crying ink, and an animal bone headdress like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
that is an ACTUAL deer skull, and you've got a dark lady of the woods. Extra props if there's other animal bones and bits attached to them because Fairy helped them scavenge.

Megan arrived in Newcrest for a date with Tess later that afternoon. She wore a cute crochet floral set she’d bought at Simsa (it’s by @trillyke and really cute and I got it cause I was like dang, this is definitely Megan’s style 🥰😊) and felt like she looked and felt good. She was just passing by a bench on the way to Shimuzu when she saw a familiar face.
Megan: Is! Hey, what are you doing here?
Iseul: (doing a double take at Megan’s outfit before smiling) Hey Megs. I was on a date with a woman at Hogan’s Burger Bar and decided to take a walk after.
Megan: That’s great, Is, I'm so happy for you. (Grinning) So, is she cute?
Iseul: (smiling) Yeah. Her name’s Grace, and she’s working as a scientist at Simerican Laboratories and she’s very cute as well as smart and funny. (Megan nods). What are you doing here dressed all fancy?
Megan: Tess asked me out on a date at Shimuzu, so I decided to dress up in this outfit and meet her there.
Iseul: (adding before she can stop herself) Well you look great and Tess is very lucky (correcting herself quickly as Megan blushes) I mean lucky to get a reservation so last minute. Shimuzu gets booked fast.
Megan: Thanks, and yeah, it does get booked quickly so we’re lucky. (There’s a mildly awkward silence and Megan smiles at Iseul). I should go, I don’t want Tess to have to wait too long, but I’ll see you around Is.
Iseul: Yeah, see you Megs. (Megan hugs her at the last minute, and Iseul hugs Megan back before they say bye and Iseul walks off, hoping her face isn’t as red as it feels).
Iseul felt guilty because she told Tess she was trying not to moon-eye her wife and she was even becoming friends with her and Megan, but seeing Megan in this outfit made her heart feel like it would beat right out of her chest, and reminded her of back when they were 18, dating, and at a 70s themed party in college:
Megan had worn a floral jumpsuit that made Iseul feel like she was going to melt, and Iseul dressed up as the frontwoman from her favorite 70s punk rock band which made Megan melt when she saw her. Iseul wanted to skip the party and just take Megan back to her dorm room but Megan really wanted to go and have a few drinks and dance so Iseul went with her. They had started seeing each other two weeks before the party happened, and they decided to just keep it to woohooing and dates and nothing serious. Megan had asked Iseul if she could help her make her ex Amira jealous. “I hope you don’t mind, Is. I mean I know we’re not actually together.” Megan had said. Iseul usually wouldn’t mind. She'd had so many just casual relationships with women and just woohoo had worked fine, but this time she felt like a shard of ice was piercing her heart. “No, you’re right, we’re just woohoo partners and that works so why ruin a good thing, right? It’s not like this means anything.” Iseul had said casually, forcing a smile. Megan’s eyes had darkened but she said in the same casual tone. “Yeah.” She kissed Iseul before leading her out to the dance floor.
They had danced together to some songs, and Is laughed as Megan showed off her disco dance moves. Then Megan made sure Amira could see her and Iseul sitting together on the couch before shifting closer, moving onto Iseul's lap which Iseul definitely didn’t mind, and kissing her as Iseul put her arms around Megan’s waist to hold her. “Come on, kiss me like how you kissed me that night we met at Rani’s party, up against the pool table.” Megan said, grinning. “You mean when you asked me to show you how to play pool even though you knew how.” Iseul teased. “Shut up. I thought you were really hot and I just wanted an excuse to have you put your arms around me, okay?” Megan said, blushing. “I know, I definitely didn’t mind.” Iseul said, grinning mischievously as she looked into Megan’s eyes and kissed her again. Megan had forgot all about making Amira jealous, and just kissed Iseul back. They broke apart and Megan blushed as she gazed into Iseul's warm dark brown almost black eyes. "By the way, Is." Megan said breathlessly. "You look beautiful. Or handsome, well both." She rambled, and Iseul blushed as Megan caressed her cheek. "Thanks Megs." Iseul said, smiling. 'You look beautiful too." Iseul's heart beat faster as Megan's brown eyes sparkled and they looked into each other's eyes for a few seconds. I can't be in love with Megan Liao, Iseul told herself, but she felt herself starting to fall for her. They headed back out to the dance floor, and Megan danced with Iseul again. “What about Amira?” Iseul said into Megan’s ear as she moved close to her. “What? Oh.” Megan said, not really caring about that plan anymore. “Well, maybe if I do this…” Iseul said, and she pulled Megan close, kissing her passionately, her hands in Megan’s long hair and Megan’s hands running over Iseul’s back as Amira looked away from her date Daniel and glanced unhappily at the two of them just as Iseul moved her hand to Megan’s butt and Megan bit Iseul’s lip. Megan barely noticed Amira, and she smiled at Iseul. “You want to head back to my dorm?” She’d asked. “Yes.” Iseul had said, her eyes warm, and she and Megan walked out hand in hand, with Amira looking after them sullenly.
Tess is lucky to have Megs. Iseul thought wistfully as she walked away. And a part of her wondered what if she had told Megan she’d loved her back then, and would they be together now? Maybe Megan would always be her one that got away. She shook her head, she shouldn't think of Megan anymore, she knew it wouldn't do any good, but she couldn't get her off her mind.
Meanwhile, Megan arrived at the restaurant and Tess got up and kissed her cheek, making Megan smile. “I ran into Is on the way here.” Megan explained. Tess nodded. “She was on a date too and apparently it went well.” Megan said. “I’m glad for Is.” She said. “But back to our date…” Tess smiled, and led Megan to their table by the bar. "By the way, Mrs. Liao-Feldman, you look beautiful." She said, checking Megan out. "You too, Mrs. Liao-Feldman." Megan said, smiling.

I think it's fine if the girls exchange colors of patterns or used things that are the signature of the other, because in real life nobody use only the same color and pattern for every single day of their life, and friends don't really go like "I can't use hearts because thats Bloom things" or "I can't use yellow because that is Stella color", and besties love to have matching things
Yellow has never been Stella's color but
I'm not gonna bitch that Flora wears a heart once, or that Musa has flowers on her cheongsam
I'm bitching because all of them are wearing the exact same pattern and exact same color which feels out of character in a show that had fashion designers come on to give each of the girls their own unique style. It just feels insulting to the audience for me to believe that they'd all decide to do that
The other thing is, it's a cartoon. No one wears the exact same outfit every single day they do something and yetttt
In drawn visual media colors and symbols become a part of a perticualr characters identity. It's part of how you recognize things related to them in a visual media. Take the Believix wings for example, those beauties only work because each girl is associated with a perticualr symbol
I don't perticually care if a character isn't wearing their assigned colors in every outfit, I'm glad they don't. I do care if they're all wearing fucking pink, because that destroys the purpose of using color strategically in visual media
I like seeing Tecna in blue, Flora in orange and red, Aisha yellow ect ect. I have no problem with color swapping, but the symbol swapping is a bit different. They're symbols are in their wings to their fairy dust charms. It's just apart of the character designs at this point and ignoring all of them so they all look like something out of Bloom's closet is annoying as fuck
Finally, the matching thing :///
Matching pajamas we're they're all in pink and have hearts, matching disco outfits where the color purple returns with a vengance, the horrible matching band outfits that don't look like anything most of them would wear, the matching cafe outfits when pink bites back, the matching salior outfits, the flower princess thing, their swimsuits all being the exact same style bottoms, the god forsaken ballet outfits where all the outfits nearly have the same silhouette??
This isn't best friends matching anymore, this is the designers either getting lazy or deciding the Winx club are all the same girl and should dress to this fact accordingly
I mean just look at older seasons. Dance class? Horrible and tacky, but by God they weren't all wearing the same style of puffy skirt. S3 Disco had them all wearing completely different outfits that look nothing like eachother outside of a vauge 70s~60s theme. Almost like the designers were aware they're different people who don't dress the exact same. They're early seasons pajamas never matched, neither did their bathing suits. But now they do
And if your wondering why this bothers me so much it's because fashion informs the characters. If a character is wearing something you can assume they like it, which is a form a characterization. If they're all wearing the same thing in different colors, what does that say about their personalities?

The Impact of Beyoncé’s Renaissance - Album Review Almost One Year Later
May 28, 2023
Tumblr media
It’s been almost a year since Beyoncé released her seventh studio album Renaissance, which was released July 29, 2022. Ever since that day, the album is still a daily discussion amongst critics and listeners alike. However, one thing that was very apparent while listening to this album was how queer it sounded. Everything from the ballroom influenced outro on ‘Heated’ to the flamboyant sounds on ‘Pure/Honey.’ This album is a gay fantasy. Nevertheless, how does this album stand the test of time one year later?
youtube
I’ve been a Beyoncé fan for as long as I remember. My favorite project by her to date would have to be B-Day, which was Beyoncé’s second studio album. B-Day in my opinion was a skipless masterpiece that will keep you moving from the first song to the last. It was when we got pop star Beyoncé. However, as Queen Bey’s career started to progress, she made the decision to make more artistic choices in her music that ranged from political awareness to personal themes such as marriage and infidelity. Nevertheless, this showed a lot of growth in Beyoncé’s artistry, but for me something was missing when she made the change in her career. I missed Beyoncé the pop star. I wanted her to make fun, carefree dance music. However, with Renaissance, Beyoncé is still political but displays it in a different way through the intersections of different communities, especially the queer community. Beyoncé has stated that this album is inspired by her late uncle Johnny who passed away from AIDS complications. The album is heavily influenced by Dance-pop, house, disco, R&B and Afrobeat. The first single that was released was ‘Break My Soul,’ which interpolates ‘Show Me Love,’ by Robin S. When I saw that title of the song, I assumed it was going to be a ballad, but I was pleasantly surprised by the sound, which was something I have never heard from Beyoncé. This was a sign that a new era was coming!
Tumblr media
As July 29th approached, I was eager and excited to hear what this body of work would sound like in it’s entirety. At first listen, I was impressed by the complexities of the sounds. Every song had transitions that slowly faded into the next song similar to that of a DJ set. There’s a couple of transitions that come to mind, one being the Cuff it, Energy and Break My Soul transitions that were chief’s kiss and very pleasing to the ear. I loved how she wanted this album to feel like a club experience. Speaking of club experience, I went to a gay club one month after Renaissance was released and the DJ played four songs from the album. This says a lot considering that it isn’t always the norm to hear multiple songs from one artist, especially songs that would be considered deep cuts from an album. One of those deeps cuts that would eventually become a single is ‘Cuff It.’
youtube
Cuff It was definitely a highlight on this album for me. It’s bright, lighthearted and dance floor ready. It’s nostalgic and throwback to 70s disco. The song gained immense popularity on TikTok after users started creating dances to the song ultimately inspiring the “Cuff it challenge.” Along with Cuff It, there were other songs that were polarizing from this project such as Virgo’s Groove, which is a whopping six minutes in length. However, when listening to the track, it doesn’t feel like a long song as the harmonies and arrangements are made in a way to flow as it is too enjoyable to even think about the playing time. What is especially interesting to me about the song is the sultry outro in which Beyoncé coos the lyrics, “You’re the love of my life.” It is so beautiful yet striking to hear those powerhouse vocals, and apparently there’s emotion behind what she’s trying to convey. Another few songs that are worth mentioning are THIQUE, All Up In Your Mind and America Has a Song Problem.
youtube
Renaissance was released 10 months ago at this point and there seems to still be quite a dialogue going on about the album. In a way, it has taken on a life of its own. Before Renaissance Beyoncé was taking on social and political topics in her music about blackness and black liberation. However, she does the same thing here, but with the intersections of the queer community. House and disco were created by queer people of color, especially black and brown folks in cities such as New York and Chicago. Beyoncé does her homework when studying these sounds and as a result gives credit to the innovators who made this sound possible. However, we still have to acknowledge that Beyoncé is a cisgendered, straight woman dappling in this genre. There’s a big difference between appropriating and appreciating; however, Beyoncé is doing the latter. I’ve also noticed that the album is not an easy listen for most people. There are so many sounds, transitions and effects going on that it might be hard for the general listener to keep up with. This was evident recently when YouTuber AJay Deluxe reacted to Renaissance for the first time. And when I say that woman was dragged by social media, I mean DRAGGED! To be fair, house, dance and disco aren’t everyone’s cup of tea in terms of music, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Nevertheless, one problematic thing she said in her video is that Renaissance is “hip hop,” which is furtherest from the truth. Beyoncé is known for talk-singing in a melodic way so it is completely ignorant to call her music hip hop just because she’s singing or talking in rhythmic patterns. The tracks where you can clearly hear those tones are in Church Girl and THIQUE, but to say the whole album is considered hip hop is a stretch.
Tumblr media
In conclusion, after spending one year with Renaissance, I still listen to the album at least twice a week. I’ve actually never grown tired of it. It simply gets better with every listen. It’s safe to say that this is my second favorite Beyoncé album (first being B-Day). I’m also astounded by how Beyoncé is constantly reinventing herself with each era in her career. As someone who has followed her since her days of Destiny’s Child, I am proud to say that she is just as relevant if not more than she was back when she debuted. Renaissance is going to be an album that we will be speaking about for years to come. It’s legendary, iconic and timeless.

Disco balls everywhere! 🪩
Tumblr media
While in New York City on Election Day (11/8), my friend Nicole and I went to a restaurant in Times Square and then to see James Acaster’s fantastic show at Sony Hall.
We chose a ‘70s-themed kitschy place called Peachy Keen because it was near the venue, but it also had tons of DISCO BALLS!
Tumblr media
Yes, ever since Inside premiered on May 30, 2021, I have been obsessed with the mirrored balls (my friend Kinja even got me a plant holder version for my 40th birthday!).
Tumblr media
I also wrote two separate posts about Bo and disco balls on my site—check them out to see why it’s my favorite Easter egg aside from Socko!
Anyway, as a disco ball lover, I had to go to this restaurant after seeing they had a specialty drink called Disco Sally that was right up my alley.
Tumblr media
And it did NOT disappoint!

Tumblr media
There was even a GIANT disco ball near the bathroom 💗
Tumblr media
And, to top it off, we saw a disco ball at Sony Hall—what incredible luck!

Do you like disco balls? Have you ever been to Peachy Keen? Let me know ✌️

That 70s show season 1 episode 23
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“So while I’m sad we have to end now, I’m grateful we were able to stick to that time capsule.” “We always felt this show had to live in that part of the ’70s that had always been underrepresented in TV and movies - the dirty, dingy, rusted over pre-disco years,” Price explains. “We got through five seasons and 44 episodes without ever hearing a single note of disco,” he says, adding that staying away from the dance craze was intentional.
Tumblr media
“Ultimately, there wasn’t time to do anything like look forward, so we never left the ’70s, we will do a tiny hint of where young Bill is headed.” Having the show wrap up in 1974 also means the writers never had to deal with the D-word: disco. “I always thought he’d turn out very successful, just like so many of the stoners I knew in high school,” Price says. In this road not taken, turns out that Sue and Frank’s eldest child has become, ironically enough, a family therapist.
Tumblr media
“I briefly considered, but then decided against, doing a flash forward to see what Kevin is up to in the 2000s,” he says. One thing the F Is for Family farewell won’t include is a time jump to show what might happen to the gang in the future - though Price admits he actually did explore that idea. Indeed, in a brief interview via email, F Is for Familyexec producer Michael Price tells Vulture that the theme of this final season is closure, which, he notes, “really wasn’t a term thrown around a lot in the ’70s, and something you’d never think the Frank Murphy we knew when the series began would care about. He’s not been the most emotionally introspective guy. But the events of this past year in his life have changed Frank.” Over the course of the final ten episodes, Price says we’ll see Frank “trying to come to terms with his relationship with his dad and how he can somehow be a better father to his kids, especially to the new baby.” As for Sue, Frank’s tortured relationship with his dad inspires the Murphy matriarch to “patch up the deep rifts in her own family” and reconnect with her gay brother Louis (new cast member Neil Patrick Harris) “to hopefully get some healing there,” Price adds. This certainly fits with Netflix’s official description for the plot of season five, which notes that as the show opens in the last weeks of 1974, the Murphys have been “rocked by loss” and that Frank has begun “a quest to understand the meaning of his father Big Bill’s life.” Even though nobody actually says the words “Big Bill is dead ,” we’re pretty sure papa Murphy will not live to see Jimmy Carter in the White House. (Spoilers ahead.) The opening seconds of the trailer show Frank (Bill Burr) dressed in a black suit, standing outside O’Doolihee’s Home for Funerals and Crematorium (the “last funeral home before highway”), followed not long after by Frank referring to his dad in the past tense, all while a melancholy instrumental version of the show’s theme song (Redbone’s “Come and Get Your Love”) plays in the background. Audiences will get the resolution to the cliffhanger ending when the series returns next week, but the official trailer for Family’s fifth and final season - debuting right here on Vulture - offers some pretty clear indicators about his fate. When we last saw the Murphys of Netflix’s F Is for Family, the delightfully dysfunctional clan found themselves in the middle of a life and death event: Sue (Laura Dern) had just given birth to her fourth kid while Frank’s father Big Bill (Jonathan Banks) was seen keeling over in extreme distress.

(created on picrew)
• | 13/11/1998 (Scorpio, Earth Tiger) |
• 172 cm, 70 kg.
• Panromantic+sexual. Is in a relationship.
                                                 - - -
A confident, active girl who loves changes in life, thanks to which she does not mind engaging in various adventures, from which her sisters pulled her more than once, even if Abby tries not to involve them in anything. It supports any movement in the world that can somehow open people's eyes and bring harmony and equality.
Talented and creative, she often tries to find some new opportunities for herself by trying different activities, as a result, developing more new skills and discovering something new and informative for herself.
Demanding in terms of friendship and love relationships, she needs to be accepted for who she is, so that she is not for someone a submissive housewife or that spare friend who is turned to only when something is needed. Sincerity, understanding, respect, care, responsibility, genuine interest and the ability to be with her to the end are important to her - this is the ideal friendship and relationship for Abby. For people who fit her criteria, she is ready to provide them with her loyalty, help and boundless support and love, as well as fill their lives with vivid emotions and impressions.
However, the girl is quick-tempered and impulsive, not afraid to express her opinion and what she considers necessary/important. Usually, Abby speaks some information or facts about something/someone directly, not at all worrying about how her words will be treated and what will be done with this truth, considering that she did what she had to (keep in the know), and the rest is not her problem (example: “I am a pansexual and I have always been comfortable like that. Just be aware, and what you will do with this information, accept it or not, it doesn’t matter anymore”).
She does not tolerate hints, concealments and evasive answers, wanting to know the truth as it is, so that people tell Abby directly what they want from her and what they want to convey, so that the girl does not have to make wrong guesses.
She has a vindictive habit of mirroring people if she didn’t like something in them and they did something bad to her, specifically showing how the offenders actually look in her eyes.

Sunny Decker Photography in London Week 5 Blog
At The Gallery I chose Dorothy Bohm’s series “Butchers at Smithfield Market, London, 1970s”.
Dorothy Bohm is trying to show the real people of London and how they lived their lives durning the 1960s and 1970s through the markets on the city. The artist conveys this message by photographing her subjects in a candid way. She gets close and personal and makes them clearly the subject of the photo. She also keeps the whole series in black and white with the same monotone tones. I think this helps to keep the series cohesive and aesthetically pleasing. I think these are “good” photographs. I enjoy looking at them because they feel real like someone has taken them naturally without posing the subjects. I think that this is what it was really like to go to London markets durning the 1960s/70s. I also think that she was able to keep an aesthetic theme throughout the series through tone and the exposure. I think these photos do convey Bohm’s intended message to show the people what London was really like. I think that having all these photos together really helped get this message across because the viewer is now able to see different angles of the market, this allows the viewer to get a clearer picture of life there. After reading I understood that most of Bohm’s engagement with the city was through these markets and the people who worked in them. This helped me to understand why she had such a focus on being up close and personal to her subjects.

Ugly Picture of Something Beautiful It took me a long time to try to come up with photos to fit this prompt but I settled on taking “ugly” photos of something beautiful. I was in Copenhagen this weekend and found this a very cool bar which inspired these photos. The first photo is of the disco ball at the center of the bar. The disco ball itself is beautiful, it’s very shiny and surrounds the whole bar with pink sparkles. Instead of taking a photo to show how beautiful and shiny the ball was I decided to take the photo in long exposure and blur the image. I was able to do this because the ball was spinning so the image was skewed making it “ugly”. The next photo is of the old television on the bar itself. The red wallpaper light fixtures and TV are all beautiful in real life but when taken in long exposure the image is again blurred and the picture is “ruined”. Finally the last image is of the slot machine in the bar. The slot machine flashes beautiful lights and to attract you in but because I shot this in long exposure too the image became blurry and unable to be seen. These photos create a photo series because they are taken in the same location on the same night in the same way (long exposure). I really enjoyed taking these photos and I think it was interesting to come up with a new way to take photos of a normal subject.

The Crown’s New Season Will Feature This Delightful Charles-Camilla Scene
The Crown’s fifth season brought us controversial dramatizations, heartwarming story lines, intriguing new characters, and at least one unexpected delight—in the form of Prince Charles break-dancing at a 1985 youth event. The scene, which closes the episode “The Way Ahead” was astonishingly based on a real-life incident in which the royal let loose, double-breasted suit and all, at an official engagement. And during a recent interview with Dominic West, for a very special holiday episode of Little Gold Men devoted to The Crown, the actor who plays Charles reveals that the drama’s sixth and final season will feature another Charles dance sequence.
The actor explains that he and costar Olivia Williams, who plays Camilla, recently filmed a season six scene in which Charles hosts Camilla’s 50th birthday party at his Highgrove Estate. The real-life event, which took place less than a month before Princess Diana’s death, featured a five-course meal, an “Arabian Nights” theme (including a tent with candlelight, palm trees, and oriental carpets), a birthday cake, and dancing. West says that, on The Crown, Charles hires a ’70s disco band to perform—and both he and Williams had to figure out how Charles and Camilla might boogie at such an event. (According to Prince Charles: The Passions and Paradoxes of an Improbably Life, the couple were “openly intimate” at the party, a milestone for the couple who had kept their relationship under wraps for so long.)
“Camilla and [Charles] really got down, and Olivia was hilarious in her speculation as to how Camilla might dance,” laughs West, trying to recreate the dance—shimmying with stiff-elbowed robot arms on Zoom. “It says so much about a character, the way they dance—so it’s always an interesting one to explore. She was doing this dance—and it’s a very distinctive dance. And I sort of thought, I’ve seen it before…and I realized actually it’s Theresa May.”
The actor referenced the widely mocked video of Britain’s prime minister awkwardly shimmying to “Dancing Queen” as she walked onstage at the Conservative Party’s 2018 annual conference.
“Do you remember it? It’s this sort of awful…thing she does,” says West, cracking up at his recollection of Williams’ interpretation of it as Camilla. “Olivia had it down so well and it’s maybe being a bit unfair on Camilla to compare it to Theresa May’s dancing, but it was unbelievably funny to watch.” West was so blown away by it that he honestly can’t recall how his character was even dancing opposite Camilla: “I dunno what he’s doing.”
“I’ve never told anybody this, but it’s one of my proudest achievements,” boasts Debicki, describing the moment she burst into a rehearsal of The Crown and introduced the YouTube video of Charles break-dancing to West. “I was like, ‘You have to see this video. It’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen…I showed it to Dom and…I said, ‘You just watch, I’m gonna get this in The Crown somehow.’ He said, ‘Don’t you dare.’”
When series creator Peter Morgan arrived at the rehearsal later, Debicki recalls, “I played it quite cool. We sort of walked through the rehearsal and as I was walking out the door, I asked, ‘Oh, Peter, have you seen that video of, um, Charles break-dancing?’ And I immediately got it up on YouTube.” Speaking about Morgan’s decision to then add the sequence to season five, the actor says proudly, “That’s my claim to fame." It is one of those lightbulb moments…you think, look at this person [in the video]…the commitment and it’s also kind of joy…and the multilayered moment…of joy and playfulness and sort of very childlikeness.”
While preparing to play Diana, Debicki heard anecdotes about and saw videos of Diana that distilled certain qualities of the late princess that she tried to capture herself onscreen. One person told the actor about having to give a formal speech. The late princess, who was seated next to the speaker, pinched her bottom to try to get the person to react. “There are moments where that spirit bursts out,” the actor recalls.
In a video she found online, Diana’s “receiving this award and she looks incredibly glamorous and calm and she’s [giving] her speech about children and what they need and how as a society we care for our children…There was a sort of heckler in the background, and this person yells very loudly across the auditorium, ‘Where are your children?’ And she takes this immensely thoughtful pause. And then she just looked up. She says very calmly, ‘At school.’ [It’s] one of those moments where you think, ‘Wow, what an awesome collected person she is to handle that. You did not fall into a million pieces. You kept your center so strong.”
Debicki adds that she has such “love and respect for this character,” that she’s hoping to take “the good bits” of Diana with her after retiring from the role. “I’m not letting go of those bits,” she says.
The actors also spoke about what season six holds for The Crown’s characters. They discussed the psychic toll of playing Diana at such a lonely time in her life, and the other entertainers who have played Charles and Diana in the past.
