Sandman rambling by someone who was shaped by the comics growing up
I've been into the comics since I was a bullied, lonely 12 year old who was handed Endless Nights because someone didn't want it in their library anymore. I understood nothing. Yet, I devoured it in a few days and a few weeks later I had the first issue of the comic. Since then, it has been a major, if not the biggest, part of my fictional life. There's few characters that are as dear to me as Death and Morpheus, as Rose and Hob are to me. Sandman, to me, is my ultimate escapist medium. It's where I go to when everything else fails me.
Cut for Length. Bc I rambled.
The show I expected nothing from. I didn't like the casting at announcement, I didn't like the setting change into the 2020s (which to me has only been a hurtful, horrible decade with no style), and I definitely did not like that they did not give Morpheus his signature eyes.
I mellowed out as I watched my way through the show. The casting is good, really good. The only one I actively dislike is Jenna Coleman's Johanna but that might also be because I find her character to be flatly written and have never been a fan of hers (no offense to Jenna! She's great! I just didn't like her at this instance). The others - especially Mason Alexander Park I have to give special credit here - are doing a great job.
It's a slow show (my dad fell asleep multiple times through it), and it takes time. Which it should. This isn't the story of great action-rich battles, this is the story of someone who is millenia old, meeting humans who have less than a fraction of this time and being forced to change their ways. It's a beautiful looking show. It hits hard when it should, it has great acting performances. Especially John Dee, who has been greatly humanised (for better and for worse) and Roderick Burgess have been played with such grand epicness by two actors I personally enjoy.
Now to my downsides. Because over all, to me, this is a mixed bag. -> death's character design. I loved Kirby. What I didn't love is.... how basic she looked. I know, this is the death look, the iconic one, but it did not hit that hard when you're in the 2020s and a black tank top and black jeans are just... normal wear. I was robbed of Goth Icon Death and that I did not get her and Dream to look like they were attending a Cure concert. I know it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation (who would like to change her iconic look?!) but dang it, I really hope that IF we get a season 2, we get a Death in a more fancy outfit with some more nods to subculture fashion. (Egirl Death would be really funny to me tbh) -> I feel like a lot got sanitised. Non of the deep, gut wrenching punches of the comics (Constantine's girlfriend with the Sand, 24 hours as a whole...) felt... impactful. The show is rated 18 and yet I felt neither scared nor unsettled once while watching it. Hell, my mother who can't even stand Supernatural was nothing but fine with it. I guess, it's because this is not the time for gruesomeness on TV and maybe it is the wrong show, but I feel the 18 rating (in my country at least) was so not justified. Bad shit happened. I guess. It didn't feel like it was *that* bad, because, oh well, next episode the world is normal! Nothing ever happened. We never got the chaos that Dream's absence caused - and what his artefacts did - in the waking world, apart from being alluded to in 24/7 and like, the sleeping sickness?? -> What I call the "tumblrfication of the Corinthian". He's not scary. Hell, he's not even THAT creepy. If this was any other show he wouldn't even be that bad of a guy (considering shows like hannibal here). He's the bad guy because the plot needs him to be. How many people are happily excusing him being a literal walking nightmare because they are horny.... idk. I'm really happy for you (not sarcasm!). For me personally, I would have liked him to be genuinely, really scary. He's a waking nightmare. His comic version is one of the best villains I've ever seen and he's genuinely, bad pun, nightmare inducing. The humanisation of his - and John Dee's to an extend - character happens so you have more to write about. And so you can make your audience somewhat like them. I personally did not enjoy that at all.
Those are the three big ones. Lyta Hall's story being changed, I give them, fair. Though it again wasn't scary. "Being 8 months pregnant forever" vs "being in labor within a few days" just does not pack the same punch. I give them the gender-bending of Lucifer bc I love Gwendolyne Christie, but a comic accurate Lucifer ONCE would have been nice. At least, it's not Tom Ellis. The man gave me the creeps.
I'd be excited - IF there is a season 2 - to see more family members. Especially Delirium holds a place in my heart that's very dear to me. I want more of Despair, I want Destruction (even though I know Brief Lifes is definitely not season 2 material when there's Seasons of Mist and A Game of you and all that...) and I want awkward, stupid family diners.
So over all, I rate Sandman a solid 6.5/10 depressed Dreams. I had fun. It felt familiar. But it wasn't "show me your dreams and I'll show you horror in a handful of dust". But maybe, that's okay.
Tom Surridge speaks in black speech bubbles. I just have to mention that.

They find an underground lab, where their father’s worked and found the missing symbiote
Peter discovers the tape and learns SHIELD didn’t steal, his father turned it in as evidence, against HYDRA
HYDRA contracted the scientist in secret to create a weapon, not a cure and Eddie’s father wanted to continue even though Richard wanted nothing to do with it when he found out
Richard Parker worked as both a freelance scientist and a member of SHIELD with his wife in secret

Other Harry tells Harry to hold on to his Peter and never let go
Otto kidnaps Eddie after his failure with Scarlet Spider turning on him at the last moment, turning him into Antivenom
Antivenom attacks Flash and Harry, Harry getting badly injured as did Flash
Before Antivenom could end them, Peter came from begin and shocks him, sending him into a coma
Both Flash and Harry were put on temporary leave until they heal
When the carnage started, Eddie finally snapped out of it and decided to finally to the right thing for Peter
Harry got Pete out as Eddie knocked him out and told Hobgoblin to get Peter away
Eddie Brock did not survive as Peter grieved, Harry telling him he loved him enough to die for him and he finally did the right thing because of Pete
Mary Jane still becomes Spider Woman with the Carnage Symbiote
After the Carnage, Harry purposed to Peter, agreeing to marry after graduation
The other clones except Kane never perished and were never synthezoids
Connors explained that the clones were a mixture of Spiderman’s DNA and Harry’s unique Hobgoblin DNA, in a way the clones (Ghost Spider, Goliath Spider, Bone Spider, and Scarlet Spider) were like their children
Both Pete and Harry easily accepted them into the family as May made plans for the newest members of their family

Why Bones & Spock NEED Each Other (Grief)
So over my tenure in this fandom I’ve seen some one sided stuff about Bones being mean to Spock, and vice versa and I’m like
Thing is y’all: You’re both right, but you’re also both wrong!
Bones is mean to Spock you’re right! But you know what? That’s a good thing!
Spock is mean to Bones because of course he is! And guess what? That’s also a good thing!
They both need it, and they can only get it (safely) from each other! What they have is (in a weird way) healthy! But it’s only healthy for these two specifically because they understand each other so well!
Prime examples? Somebody has died or gone missing (usually Jim)!
Let’s talk about how Spock & Bones grieve!
Let’s address how each character (generally) moves through the 5 stages of grief
Bones: Anger, Denial, Depression, Bargaining, Acceptance
Spock: Bargaining, Denial, Depression, Anger, Acceptance
They are each individually perfectly equipped to handle each other’s grief (or refusal to grieve)!
Bones initial reaction to death is usually Anger, he blames himself and anyone in proximity. Quickly followed by a weird form of denial, in which he doesn’t deny someone is dead, but he denies that other people think the person is gone and that they felt it when it happened because he’s dunked so hard under his own grief his usually high empathy has switched off.
Now, Bones is highly familiar with grief as a medical professional (and having lost his father). He establishes how important and deeply believes in that process in And The Children Shall Lead.
I think Bones is acutely aware of how he grieves, and is equally aware that throwing these feelings out at just anybody could really hurt them.
But Spock isn’t just anybody, he’s a (half) Vulcan, it’s like shouting at a brick wall, Bones knows Spock can take it. I also believe Spock understands that this state is temporary, which is why he handles it with such grace.
What happens when Bones isn’t able to go off at (not truly “on”) Spock is that Bones keeps that anger to himself and gets bordering-on-suicidal (Depression phase of grief). It happens in Miri (self injection), For The World is Hollow & I Have Touched The Sky (trying to stay behind), and The Empath (the whole freakin episode). Jim is good for comfort, but Spock is good for a slap in the face reality check.
They both know that. It’s why they’re still friends despite how much shit they throw at each other
Not only that, but Bones (almost) ALWAYS apologizes, from their worst fights I can rattle off:
“They were wrong, and I was wrong I’m sorry” (Paradise Syndrome)
“Pawns huh? Well if it makes any difference, this pawn is extremely sorry.” (Day of The Dove)
“Spock I- I’m sorry, it does hurt doesn’t it?” (The Tholian Web)
And that’s not including implied/non-verbal apologies.
Bones needs Spock to help him grieve because otherwise he’s gonna take an emotional nosedive toward attempted Martyrdom. Spock’s stoicism punctured by occasional genuiness helps Bones move to the Bargaining stage (making peace with Spock and everything that’s happened) and later Acceptance.
The inverse of this is also true so let’s address how Bones uses his belligerent nature to jump start Spock’s healthy grieving process!
Bones grieving style (and his confrontational nature in general) is uniquely suited to make Spock honor his Human side, his emotions in the matter. Because we know a softer touch (like Jim’s) while more comfortable for Spock, seldom cracks open that wall of emotional repression unless Jim’s in danger.
Bones doesn’t give a shit, and that ultimately a good thing! Both he and Spock constantly need to be directly shoved against their default reactions to interpret things in a balanced way, which is why they’re perfect for each other.
Without Bones, Spock would never let himself grieve, ever. We also know that, more deeply than Spock, Bones understands grief and how to move through it, he’s familiar with loss (which is why I think he’s so quick to accept someone is dead whenever it happens, it’s the reaction of someone whose had to lose a lot of people and is more comfortable grieving than hoping). There’s a lot of evidence for this in Gamesters of Triskellion & Return To Tomorrow.
He also honors Spock’s human half a lot more than Spock does, it’s one of the fundamental power sources for Bones & Spock’s “the racism’s mutual” banter. And it is mutual, I feel like people forget how often Spock compares modern humans to the worst examples of their/his ancestors and treats them as inferior out of internalized hatred and the general xenophobic attitudes of Vulcan culture. Bones of course responds in kind, usually in cockamamy insults, he’s not as well versed in Vulcan history as Spock is in Human. Although I admit Bones does start it a lot, I think arguing accounts as a love language for him lmao.
So when Bones sees Spock trying to stunt and stifle his grieving process, especially since Bones knows he’s at least partly human and it is affecting Spock’s judgement, it hits literally ALL of Bones nerves.
Bones uses reverse psychology to get Spock to admit he is human and he has feelings ALL THE TIME especially where Jim is concerned. Bread & Circuses, The Immunity Syndrome, The Tholian Web & Requiem for Methuselah!
Spock will absolutely refuse to grieve or at least move on from the self-destructive bargaining/denial loop he gets trapped in unless Bones smacks him around a little. Just like how Bones will get self-destructive unless Spock recenters him via logic.
Again, I think on a subconscious level they both know that, and it’s why they never take each other’s smack downs to heart.
An excellent example, Chekov’s “death” in Spectre of The Gun:
Spock isn’t grieving, but everyone else is, Spock was close to Pavel but isn’t letting himself feel it, which could later backfire. Bones is currently grieving, but there’s no time to grieve because they’re all gonna die in 20 minutes if they don’t find a solution to their dilemma.
Transcript & Breakdown:
Bones: You talk about another man’s [Jim’s] feelings? What do you feel Spock?!
Are you grieving? He was like son to you you’re not acknowledging it, again.
Spock: My feelings are not subject for discussion Doctor.
No, and I’m not going to, leave me alone.
Bones: Because there are are no feelings to discuss!
Well I’m grieving! And I’m gonna reverse psychology your Vulcan ass until you start your grieving process so that I can move on!
Scotty: Mr. Spock Chekov is dead! I say it now and I can hardly believe it, but you worked closely with him! That deserves some memorial!
Bones: Spock will have no truck with grief Scotty, it’s human.
Alright, that first comment didn’t work, maybe “insulting” him will get that thick head of his to acknowledge his feelings.
Jim: Bones! Scotty!
Spock: It’s quite alright Captain, they forget I am half human.
Fine, yes I am grieving for Pavel in my own way. Are you satisfied Dr. McCoy?
Bones: [looks surprised and thoughtful, satisfied with Spock’s answer]
Wow, you said you were human without any disgust this time... huh... good job.
Scotty:[looks ashamed]
The 5 o’clock duel bell rings.

Nines is tuned into Gavin's heart, right? So he knows when it speeds up, slows down, skips, etc. And as the most advanced android ever created he can assess and process an entire situation in a fraction of a second. So I raise you Gavin getting hit hard enough to stop his heart for a few seconds, but to Nines it feels so much longer.
oh FUCK oh my god you
HORRIBLE GENUIS
listen,, buddy, my bestest friend, this is so so good and I want to write it but I’m super exhausted from Everything(tm) right now so I can’t, but I will definitely keep this prompt in mind if my creative energy ever returns from the war
even better tho
a few weeks later, it’s super apparent Nines has way more PTSD about the whole incident than Gavin does--who’s actually recovering pretty well, he’s a mess of bruises and two casts, but he’s ultimately Fine--and he knows Nines is real fucked up about it and that his partner thought he was dead for three seconds, he’s not enough of a dick to tease him about that, but the general consensus is that Nines being THIS fucked up about it is kind of weird
but then Connor makes an off-hand, bragging comment about how he’s advanced enough to run preconstructions down to the pico-second to calculate thousands of results in a single “human second” to determine the best course of action
and Gavin has to google what a fucking picosecond is and learns from wikipedia that “a picosecond is to one second as one second is to 31,689 years” and realizes Nines thought he was dead for way longer than three seconds ;n;

The Big Problems With OUAT’s Writing:
My favorite characters were Rumple, Belle, Emma, and Nealfire. Once Nealfire got killed off though, their characterizations and their relationships, as well as everyone else’s thereafter, went to total shit in canon. Adam and Eddy obviously couldn’t come up with any more than two-and-a-half seasons of organic or satisfying character growth for the original main cast, and it should have ended in 3x11, in my opinion. I’m pretty sure that Damon Lindlelof helped them out with the writing a lot for the first two-and-a-half seasons, which is why the story is at least coherent enough to be enjoyable up to 3x11.
But after 3A, Lindlelof’s plans for the show were butchered, Kitsowitz completely took over the show with Captain Fuckboy, PLOT, and making money their main focuses, so they kept it on air for the next four-and-a-half seasons not knowing what else to do now that they had run out of new story. Thus, it got to the point where it essentially devolved into such badly written crack!fic soap opera on screen by the end of 5A where the writing for everyone’s characterization had become so unbelievably OOC, annoyingly self-contradictory, changeable, hypocritical, illogical, melodramatically problematic, and toxic in favor of the PLOT that I had to quit to preserve my sanity.
I enjoyed reading Rumbelle fanfic moreso than the actual show because it made sense and felt more satisfying, well-written, in-character, and entertaining than the nonsensical toxic garbage the show had devolved into.
After 5A, Eddy Kitsis said in an interview that he thought “good storytelling” was making sure the audience goes “WTF? This makes absolutely no sense! This isn’t fair! This totally contradicts everything that I was shown before, and feels too stupid, too contrived, and too OOC to even believe possible.”
It wasn’t worth getting emotionally or mentally invested in this show or any of the remaining characters as written in canon anymore post 3A because A&E and these writers formula kept becoming more and more of “We’re doing our jobs if we can trick our audience after deliberately teasing them by dangling the carrot of organic growth of character that we’re too lazy to follow through on by yanking it away from them as soon as they start making logical predictions abruptly, cruelly and inorganically with constant twist of ’HOLY SHIT, CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT JUST HAPPENED?”
When Eddy basically said that at the end of 5A, I realized I was done with having any hope for this show, and I decided to finally quit watching after 5B because I knew every time something started to seem to make sense and go in a direction of organic growth for the characters, A&E and these writers would deliberately pull the rug out from under them and their audience for trying to get invested in them with some inorganic contrivance that ruined everything in an unfair way that made no sense and never would make any sense in canon from what we were led to believe would happen beforehand on this show by them because that was the whole point: A&E and these writers so often didn’t want you to make sense of their show because they were lazy hacks who didn’t know how to write a cohesive plot or organic character growth/realistic characterization after 3A.
They admitted that they liked whiplashing their audience for using common sense and logic in regards to fans whenever the story and the characters would seem to be potentially headed in a way that would make sense. They considered that “genuis” storytelling with their overinflated egos, rather than just very cruel, mean, lazy, and low bad writing that ultimately destroyed most of their main characters’ credibility and their fans willingness to stay emotionally invested in their canon show that the creators/writers refused to let unfold organically in a way that made consistent sense long term.
Instead, they used a constant series of contrived magical macguffins and twists of “WTF just happened? This makes no damned sense from what was just previously established on screen, and does not at all relate to it! This is unbelievably absurd! The characters would never do or say this shit in real life!”
It destroyed the credibility of most of their characters’ in canon and their fans willingness to stay emotionally invested in their show, and it was insulting, especially when you had showrunners like Eddy Kitsis admitting to the fans “As always with this show, once the audience gets onto what we’re doing, we have to change it.”
When they said “We hope things will be ‘fun’” for the character assassinating, wildly OOC, nonsensical, and melodramatic garbage writing of 6A for Rumbelle with the Morfetus bs twist or in 5A of the Dark Swan arc, they didn’t mean that we would necessarily be legitimately entertained as an audience when they threw in a character destroying inorganic magical contrivance or bizarre twist out of nowhere that forced the characters into weird directions that made no sense from what had been previously established.
Adam and Eddy meant that they would be having fun pissing those of us in their audience off by insulting our intelligence and common sense by constantly giving us inorganic contrivance of OOC characterizations, magical macguffins, and bizarre PLOT twists and contrivances that didn’t consistently, logically, and thus satisfyingly add up with what had been previously established, rather than entertaining us with organic character growth that made satisfactory sense by letting our predictions for characters come true in their sheer laziness to slow down and write organic character development.
There were even hints of this problem before 3B-S7 that I was seeing potential for in 2B. OUAT could have gone strong for longer than two to three ish seasons if A&E and these writers had slowed down from 2B, not gotten obsessed with Hook, not gone to Neverland, and not gotten so obsessed with the next big, bizarre, and contrived magical PLOT twist or macguffin that, oftentimes inorganically forced their characters to 180 regress in ways that made no sense for moments of “HOLY SHIT! WTF JUST HAPPENED?”
I have no problem with characters regressing when it’s done organically, slowly, relatably, and realistically. The problem with OUAT was that they used inorganic contrivances to push them back-and-forth between increasingly bizarre extremes that made no sense, rather than focusing on human or realistic motivations to get them from point A to point C organically. It felt fake, and it felt forced. I know it was fiction, but it felt like lazily badly written fiction when the characters swung back-and-forth by the writers playing God with them on the strings of their asinine PLOT twists inorganically.
It had gotten beyond exhausting trying to invest in a show run by petty hacks who were never going to allow their audience’s common sense and intelligence lead them through an organic path of growth for these characters with the writers dangling the carrot in front of them for a story that actually could make sense, and then abruptly, cruelly, and inorganically yanking it away from them with an absurd twist because they were too lazy to come up with any more ideas for organic character growth after 3A.
Let’s talk about Hook and CS becoming such a main focus on this show, and the romantic male lead/couple.” It’s not that Hook couldn’t have been organically developed into a sympathetic character worthy of redemption in his own right. A&E couldn’t write that, though. He also didn’t fit together with the ensemble main cast in the place of Nealfire as Emma’s main love interest. He and Emma had absolutely no chemistry. Hook’s sudden interest in her was bizarre and creepy.
Then, they killed off Nealfire through absurd means for Hook to take his place in the picture where he didn’t fit in the family circle, so they could have CS. They broke their own rules to bring Rumple back from the dead to turn him into the wildly OOC on-and-off-again “big bad” scapegoat cartoonish villain PLOT twister “foil” to Hook, even after having been given two-and-a-half seasons of the most well-written and well-earned sympathetic reforming anti-villain/tragic hero backstory and redemption arc from S1-3A. They destroyed Emma’s, Belle’s, Snow’s, David’s, and even Henry’s original sympathetic characterizations by obliterating their self-respect, intelligence, self-awareness, and moral integrity, so that they could inorganically force this bullshit narrative of Hook/CS being the “best hero” ever in a world of now meaningless, shallow, and simplistic black versus white hypocritical morality that Nealfire and the common goal of family balanced out with a sense of realism, common sense, organic growth and emotional depth that got lost with his death in favor of contradictory character destroying magical PLOT-twist driven Drama™️ soap opera “hero versus villain” fuckery and Hook/CS.
No wonder they lost more and more viewers as every season passed...Getting emotionally invested was no fun when the writers deliberately pulled the rug out from underneath your favorite characters whenever things started to seem making sense by totally ruining it with some bizarre magical contrivance or characterization that doesn’t add up to what we were shown before, and your logical predictions for stories that made organic and consistent sense for character growth were mocked by these writers because they refused to slow down and develop the characters after S1-3A. You were punished for being smart and using common sense, and that’s why most of these main characters’ credibility and integrity got completely destroyed in one way or another by this very lazy, petty and unfair bad writing technique of theirs that made them mostly feel like pod!people after just the first two-and-a-half seasons of the series.
tldr; You could only suspend your disbelief by turning off your brain to disregard the bullshit writing choices on OUAT and just blindly enjoy the show by getting invested in the characters for so long as written in canon without asking any questions before the writing became too infuriatingly repetitive, too contrived, too OOC, too character assassinating, and too stupid to believe. Also, Captain Fuckboy ruined the show after 3A, and he should have died and stayed dead back in early S2. It could have been different if A&E were good writers who could come up with organic character growth, and not shoehorned him in as Emma’s love interest in a way that ruined the whole show’s dynamic and sense of emotional depth by replacing Nealfire with him.
Nealfire’s death was the metaphorical death of the show’s canon, though. My personal headcanon was that the real show ended with “Going Home” (3x11) because that’s the last time there was any sort of compelling, consistent, organic, realistic, or relatable characterization or growth. After that, it all went to hell (literally), and I had to finally quit watching after S5 to preserve my sanity before anything got any worse, and on this show, it only would because A&E and these writers never learned.
A&E didn’t trust or respect their audience, so after awhile it felt like why should I respect their shitshow’s canon if it doesn’t make any consistent or well-developed sense, and they don’t care that it doesn’t themselves anymore either?
#anti ouat#anti kitsowitz#anti ouat writers#anti ouat 3b s7#anti hook#anti cs#rumplestiltskin#belle#nealfire#emma swan#swanfire#rumbelle#snow white/mary margaret#prince david/david nolan#snowing#henry mills#I think trying to watch this show after 3A started eating away my brain cells with its sheer ridiculousness!#Mindfucking your audience with bizarre and stupid ass contrived twists is NOT good storytelling!#You don’t punish your audience by changing the plot out of nowhere just because your audience uses logic to predict where it could go#because your fragile egos and lazy asses are too lazy to write organic character development#since you’d have to slow down and do something NEW then instead of recycling the same old storyline by going back to the status quo#and fans would recognize that your creator pets/self-insert ship suck anyway#You don’t outright destroy sideline and/or kill off other characters/ships because they could be competition#for the characters/ships YOU want your general audience to like as a creator/writer of a work of fiction#because you’re too fucking lazy to actually organically develop Hook as a likable individual character!#That’s so fucking petty and unprofessional!#I’m NEVER going to watch another movie or show with A&E’s or ANY of these writers names attached to it EVER AGAIN!#I’m so bitter about how much they abused and misused their main characters for PLOT fuckery and Hook/CS ESPECIALLY the Goldstiltskin family#I’m pretty certain Lindlelof outlined most of S1-3A for them. It’s probably why 3B-S7 feels so ooc cheesy shallow repetitive and stupid

HAPPY SUGA DAY!
Disclaimer:
****I meant to get this post up on Yoongi's actual birthday but due to Tumblr completely deleting my first draft and having to deal with some crap at work, I haven't really been in my right mind to do so, so unfortunately I wasn't able to get it done in time. Even if it's a little late I hope you guys still enjoy this post!****
So I've been thinking all day what I can say about Min Yoongi that I haven't said already and sadly I'm drawing a blank.
I think everyone knows by now how, underneath that hard and standoff-ish exterior, Yoongi is truly one of the sweetest, most caring members in BTS.
He may be the designated "grandpa" but he can give Jin a run for his money as the "mom" of the group with the way he dotes on every single member in his own way. So instead of me doing a long winded post that loses it train of thought a million times I think I'll expand on how much Yoongi truly loves his brothers:
▪JIN
So when it comes to the relationship these two share, "opposites attract" is the best way I could describe it. While one is outgoing and loud, the other is more reserved and quiet. This duo loves to annoy each other and you can see that every time Jin cracks a face-palm inducing dad joke, and vice versa whenever Yoongi makes fun of Jin for his "old" age. I mean it's obvious to ARMY by now how extra Jin can be at times, but even through all the cringe-worthy moments and  second-hand embarrassment, at the end of the day, Yoongi still has great appreciation and respect for him.
Tumblr media
▪JIMIN
Like Jin and Yoongi, Jimin and Yoongi are also quite opposites when it comes to their outlook on life. Where Jimin sees positivity, Yoongi is more about realism. It's not that he doesn't want to see the world as a happy place, but he also doesn't want to be blind to the truth either. That's why these two work so well together, one is the lifts the other up while the other protects them from harm.
Tumblr media
▪TAEHYUNG
It's no secret that Tae marches to the beat of his own drum, but it is because of this fact that Yoongi finds him so endearing. During an episode of BV the two were partnered up to spend time together and even when everyone else said they would never agree on anything, Yoongi had the perfect solution. He cares a lot for Tae and he knows how hard the past few years have been for him after losing precious loved ones, so he's kind of been the one looking out for him behind the scenes.
Tumblr media
▪JUNGKOOK
When it comes to emotional vulnerability, I would say Kookie and Yoongi are two peas in a pod. Neither one chooses to wear their hearts on their sleeves, but on the rare occassions when they do, you can guarantee you will find yourself crying along with them. There's a lot of pressure and uncertainty that goes alongside being the maknae of the group, and even more so when you're the golden maknae, and that's why I think Yoongi has taken it upon himself to help shoulder those burdens by taking care of him. Whether it's sticking up for him, encouraging him, or simply offering to buy him a proper meal, Yoongi has always been a great hyung to Kookie. And who could forget the iconic moment of "Friendship is Irish Bomb"? Haha
Tumblr media
▪HOSEOK
Ok, so there's a lot with this relationship. We have day meets night, dark meets light, and cynicism meets positivity. These two contrast so much but still connect on the same level in countless other ways. Both are 2/3 that form one of the best raplines I've ever seen. Both are very passionate about what they do (J-Hope: dance, Yoongi: music) and they have worked their butts off to reached the point they're at now. Because Yoongi is such a realist, he is constantly overwhelmed with the state of the world, and he desperately needs to see the happier side that he might be missing...that's where Hobi comes in. There's a reason he was given the nickname he was given, he provides everyone around him with hope and happiness when they need it most, and that especially applies to Yoongi.
When you constantly find yourself in the limelight it can be hard not to lose yourself within it. You might even forget your sense of self and instead be reduced to nothing more than a preconception told from a cameras perspective; that's when friends are the best cure, and Hobi just so happens to be that friend. These two are important for one another because whenever they're together it seems to be nothing but laughs and genuine smiles. They are carefree and able to be themselves around each other. To have that sense of freedom is probably a rare occasion for BTS in general, but even more so for the one who's know to be the "cold-hearted" and I'm happy he can find it with Hobi.
Tumblr media
▪NAMJOON
Finally we have these two: Namjoon and Yoongi.
I've decided to save this one for last because to me they have a bond that completely differs from all others previously mentioned. These two have known each other the longest, have lived together the longest, and have seen each other at their worst points. Before debuting these two would fight constantly, both due to genuine disagreements, and also because of the countless hardships and pressure they had thrown at them. They have grown with each other and have been there to strengthen each other every step of the way.
Yoongi might not be one to express his feelings so openly, but every time I see the clip of him crying with Joon after receiving their first MAMA award It's obvious how much he does care and how much this all means to him.
To be honest, Yoongi never fails to show his love and support whenever his brothers are feeling down, and that especially goes for Joon. With him being the leader of BTS there is so much added pressure and expectations to live up to that it can be overwhelming, and on top of all of it, being the designated translator, writing and producing most of BTS' songs, and also trying to learn the choreography to go along with said song can seem next to impossible; Yoongi sees these struggles and he does all he can to help lessen the weight.
These two honestly do share one of the most profound bonds and I believe nothing could severe it completely. They might still have their fights, I mean they're human, it's bound to happen, but the respect and admiration they have for one another wins out every time.
As much as they love each other, these two also love to screw with each other too. Yoongi constantly makes fun of Joon for his clumsiness and Joon makes fun of Yoongi for his laziness, but in the end these two wouldn't be who they are without the other.
Yoongi once said in an interview that Joon is one of his favorite people he's ever met and if he had to pick a person to spend his last day with he would pick him. Then Joon in a different interview mentioned how Yoongi is basically his mirror and he takes care of the thing that Joon is unable to. These two compliment each other so well, and musically speaking, their backgrounds come from very similar places that they just know how the other runs. If Hobi allows Yoongi to act himself and to let loose physically, then Joon is his emotional release. They know how to have those deep heart-to-heart conversation without worrying what the other might think. Yoongi is able to use his words and is able to open up to Joon about any doubts, fear, or anxiety he might be struggling with, as well as using them to provide Joon with the assurance he needs that he is doing a good job as the leader; and in return, Joon gives Yoongi that sense of comfort and stability whenever he needs it.
Min Yoongi and Kim Namjoon.
Yoonie and Joonie.
Suga and RM.
AGUST D and Rap Monster.
Lil Meow Meow and Killer Dimples.
These boys are one in the same: two overall geniuses who started as underground rappers possessing skills of insane flow and destructive lyrics, then forced to become idols, who eventually helped redefined what idols are, and now are global superstars that have created the golden rapline (with Hobi), are living their wildest dreams yet still remain humble, as well as unapologetic about incorporation crucial social topics into their songs.
There's a reason these two get along so well and that's because of years of being around each other, having the same deep, philosophical thought process, and knowing that hard work, sleepless nights, and finding growth within personal struggles are what it takes to reach your ultimate goal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The point is, if you're still with me that is haha, is that Suga tends to have this reputation that he is cold-hearted and aloof when it comes to the rest of the members, but honestly who wouldn't be exhausted and not wanting to participate in different events after having not slept for days on end and pouring their blood, sweat, tears (not intentional btw) into their creations?! Suga is one of the hardest working, passionate, individuals out there and if he didn't sacrifice so much for us, far beyond what this post can tell you, then BTS would not exist the way we know it now. It because he is willing to put his own health and well-being on hold --despite ARMY and the boys wishes-- and take on this almost altruistic behavior that I have so much respect and admiration for Yoongi. And anyone who says that this man is cold or that he hates his members...Have you not seen this man's precious, gummy smile when he's having the time of his life with his favorite people? There's a reason he chose to call himself "Suga" and that's because underneath that hard outer shell, deep down Min Yoongi is nothing but pure sweetness who isn't afraid to dream big and wants to see those he loves succeed to their fullest potential.
He is our resident grandpa, a musical genuis, and can spit fire while roasting people with the highest level of savageness you can achieve. He is the 2nd oldest, the hyung who tends to show his love when the cameras aren't rolling, and he is the backbone of BTS who slaves away in the recording studio to produce these insane tracks we all love so much. He is the only one that I've noticed who mirrors and compliments Namjoon's own thoughts and feelings and he is a huge reason why BTS has been so successful like they are.
We love you
Min Yoongi
Suga
AGUST D
Lil Meow Meow
Grandpa Yoongs
I hope you had a great birthday and thank you for everything you have done for BTS in the past, everything you're doing in the present, and everything you will do in the future. You are one of my biggest inspirations and I wish you all the best!
화이팅! 💜

Proof that we're living in a simulation: (Yup I'm fucking blazed and we're going in deep)
This is going to be a wild ride to explain, try to understand what I mean here.
I'll start with a main idea sentence and explain subsections.
Our entire lives from start to end is a node path on a fractal structure the same shape as carbon structures.
Look here at this carbon structure
Each node touches two new nodes.
Imagine now all the seemingly infinite nodes for everything you do in your life with the end goal being finding "your true calling". Now imagine a computer running a simulation that fractals up with complexity, remember the atom structures, our lives span across time with the choices we make, on the tree of possible choices, which means, if true:
Each significant shift in our lives in one direction or another is influenced by a place you came from, and a probability that you'll do one of two things.
1 or 0. Came from 1, came from 1, came from 0, came from 0, came from 1,
Now what's the probability of coming from 0? What's the probability of coming from 1? The one that wins, is the path that's chosen. Consciousness is the ability to DECIDE. You're probably thinking okay but wait the rules are not defined yet, let's explore that below:
The universe is a fractal probability program of 1 or 0 with the rules:
It's allowed to pick that it remembers what it picked or not
It's allowed to use that to influence it's next decision or not
It's allowed to pick the highest probability or not.
It would seem the human experience is somewhere on the map of nodes along the path of letting past events highly influence our behavior, shown of course by evolution, survival, we tend to pick the highest probability, like animals, but ultimately we are allowed to pick the highest probability or not... which sets us apart from them.
I think a properly coded computer with power of extreme magnitude could create the universe we live in in a genuis mathematical fractal system based of 1 and 0.
Zoom in and out, we see the evidence everywhere of a probability program running a scaling in complexity structure. From atom in the physical world to our human experience on the internal plane, they all are a result of the game, and their destinies can be predicted with some accuracy with given information on the map.
Imagine the power, of an AI neural network that has all the data, our thoughts (comments), our blood type, our daily intake of food, our career paths, basically big data as things are coming to be. We take that data, and give a program the instructions for the desired end result, and the program will output which nodes to take to have the highest probability to reach that goal.
It could be used for incredible good, to help humans achieve the best future they could possibly have with the least amount of suffering and the highest probability of advancing us as a species.
Or it could be used for incredible evil, and help a group of humans achieve their future based on their input end goals. If the end goals put in are selfish or shortsighted in nature it seems it would certainly harm other people to get what they want.

Consider the Contrast
I would like to point out how Snape, in many ways, is similar to Voldemort (perhaps why Volde liked him so much). Both came from abusive/unfortunate upbringings, both sought the power to ensure their survival and triumph, and both, though Voldemort was actually popular in his years at Hogwarts, showed uncanny ability, isolated genuis, and a loner way about themselves that none of their contemporaries could quite understand. What separates them, however, is Lily: Lily was the one thing that crept and budded into Snape's heart and which he couldn't relinquish; if he could, we might have saw a duo of him and Voldemort, which would have almost certainly meant an end to the wizarding world. So, instead of the great evil that Snape could have wreaked, instead we got a much lesser version: a grumpy, abusive, ingenuis Hogwarts teacher that, while assisting Voldemort in some ways, did far more for the good (assisting Dumbledore and Harry in countless ways). Finally, I think that Dumbledore plays a larger role than people imagine. Dumbledore gave both Snape and Voldemort a chance and belived in both when others wouldn't or were suspect (Tom Riddle as a horrifying boy in the orphanage and Snape as a dubious figure throughout his life; showing us that everyone should be given a chance, no matter their potential for harm). However, Dumbledore must have taken notice of the difference between the two men, a difference he hoped both would have acquired as time progressed: One had love--a mysterious force which one cannot control--firmly inside him; the other, Volde, did not have such a "nuisance," he could not fathom deeply caring for anyone other than his own self and image (i.e. his obsession with bloodline and Salazar; the closest relation Volde most likely had was that father-figure relationship he had with Dumbledore, which turned to hate once his "father" rejected who he grew up to become--he made the mistake of thinking Dumbledore respected power only, like the kind he once admired in Grindlewald, but really love was what Dumbledore deemed, in his heart of hearts, to be the noblest quality, and that was also what truly attracted him to Grindlewald, though it might have seemed otherwise). And this is why, I think, that Snape was frustrated so much of the time: in truth, he could have been a lot more than what he was, his talents were so great yet also so underappreciated because so few took a liking to him; if he, like Voldemort, had no love for a person holding him back, I have no doubt that Snape could have obliterated the Wizarding World, and would have done a much better job of it, too, because, as far as I can tell, he's much more capable of slyness and subtlety in action than Voldemort--who is brash and outright often (a sign of deep insecurity and or madness)--another difference. Lily's outreach to Snape, even though they was so young, left such an indleible mark that the man could never forget, and so he could never go full-throttle evil like Voldemort could. Lily, it turns out, cast a spell on Snape that left him human. She accomplished the remarkable feat, pure because it wasn't contrived, of transmuting a human who was unloved, wretched, and vulnerable for havoc, into someone who understood the ultimate solace that is love. And that was something Voldemort could never understand; or, and this is perhaps even more thought-provoking, perhaps no one, not even Dumbledore, really ever loved Voldemort, and so his cold, malevolent darkness could never be thawed nor his furiously ambitious flames tempered. What Voldemort really sought, I think--and this is seen in his pursuit of immortality--was the meaning of life, and that, of course, can only be one thing... love.
