things Rick Riordan is a coward for doing/for not doing: a list:)
taking away percabeths grey hair streaks
not making Blitzstone canon in mcga (richard you had one job)
not making leo aroace and having one of his arcs involve him realizing he doesn't need a romantic relationship, could also include an arc for calypso(also i am an active caleo hater im so sorry)
making sadie x anubis canon???? gross dude
not including Grover in heroes of olympus like, at all
not really diving into percy and annabeths trauma after tartarus (i zoned out half way through my hoo reread so I don't remember if their trauma was talked about like at all💀)
not confirming in canon that will solace has a country accent (hc all you want but I need it in writing, I yearn to be right)
not giving Luke more screen time (book time? page time??? im a luke apologist, sue me)
not giving Reyna and Octavian a brother/sister relationship (like, ik we all hate octavian, and rightly so, but dude. they basically grew up together and no matter how unsufferable he is, they have history. they deserve a constantly bickering siblings dynamic)
taking away Annabeths dagger and daedalus' laptop in Mark of Athena (first of all, why? and that dagger was the last thing annabeth had of luke:( besides like, trauma but cmon)
doing whatever he did with my girl Drew Tanaka like dude😭 she deserved way better, it felt like she was only that way to promote pipers not-like-other-girls attitude
not exploring megs interest in piano more. we could've gotten a cute brother/sister moment between her and lester, we were robbed:(

mission accomplished | victorious
three demigods and one mission
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the mission was given by hephaestus, god of blacksmiths and fire. he was robbed by two rebel cyclops who stole achilles’ battle equipment from his work place.
at the time hephaestus was working in a big project for the olympus and didn’t have time to search for his former employees, but thetis wouldn’t let him do anything before her son’s equipment was back at it’s place. the best solution he could think about was sending a mission to camp half blood and waiting until some demigods solve his problems.
» mission for a son of zeus, a daughter of athena and a daughter of nike
no one expected these three to be on the same team, but it was a special request from thetis (achilles’ mother) who thought they’d make the perfect team to bring back her son’s equipment.
poor daughter of athena found out she was going on a mission and got anxious, waking up at five in the morning to get ready and make sure everything would work according to the plan (a plan that neither zeus’ son nor nike’s daughter were aware of).
the daughter of nike wished she could have slept a little longer, but her siblings had another idea. it wasn’t even 4a.m when everyone cabin 17 were awake to start a kind of ritual to make sure she would be successful in her mission.
meanwhile cabin 6 and 17 were getting ready to go, the son of zeus didn’t look worried at all. maybe at this point he was already used to the gods asking him to do their work for them. he was taking so much time to get ready that the two girls considered leaving him behind (chiron wouldn’t let them though).
anyway, the first argument they’d have started before they even left the camp, and would only end when they came back. “who’s the leader?”, they never came to a conclusion… 🤷‍♀️
this team would have a lot of communication issues and would constantly try to outshine each other when it all started.
cabin 1, 6 and 17 are known for their leadership and fighting skills but we can say they have very different strategies that could cause some arguments from time to time.
the athena’s child would be the first to notice that they would die if they kept acting like that. she tried to make the other two behave but they didn’t pay attention to it, well…until they almost were killed by a minotaur, them they started considering that maybe she was right.
athena and nike almost set off fireworks from the olympus when their daughters cooperated with each other.
and the two girls became friends after some days, and just like their mothers, they made great fighting partners. the son of zeus was a bit more individualist and thought that a mission was supposed to be something serious, and not a “friendly adventure” like he said.
but he eventually opened up to the girls about his life as well
okay, NOW they are the perfect team. their abilities worked really well together, every monster or mythological creature that crossed their path was easily defeated.
the cyclops though weren’t that easy.
the team found them hiding in a gas station in the middle of nowhere with another one of them and two harpies.
nike’s daughter used her wings to get the harpies’ attention and flew away with them behind her to a place where the other two were waiting.
they killed them first and them went to the gas station to confront the cyclops.
they managed to kill two of them but at some point the son of zeus and the daughter of athena got hurt and they decided to just get what was stolen and go back to the camp.
success! the daughter of athena got achilles’ battle equipment while nike’s daughter was flying around with zeus’ son to distract the monster.
nike’s daughter ended up having to carry the other two until they found a bus that was going to Long Island.
back at camp half blood, they were welcomed by their siblings and chiron. they took the injured ones to the infirmary, where the apollo’s kids took care of them.
mr d. got into an argument with the nike’s daughter because she wouldn’t give the equipment to him until her new friends were feeling better.
she waited for the athena’s daughter and zeus’ son to fully recover so the three of them could complete their mission together.
thetis went to the camp herself to get her son’s equipment back and thank the demigods for their help.
there’s a big chance they kept being friends after the end of this quest.
⤷ author’s note:

F&F AU!
Eheheheh so for those of you not aware, F&F stands for Fast & Furious, so yes, after @mistmarauder and @catdadeddie made me watch that franchise for the first time, I am writing a Fast & Furious Buddie AU.
But uh not the spy shenanigans and cars in space part. Just the first one.
The premise is that rookie cop Eddie Diaz moves to Los Angeles to reconnect with Shannon, who when they were teenagers was big in the street racing scene (there's a teeny tiny Timeless Easter egg in there actually). But Shannon dies shortly after Eddie moves there and Eddie learns that part of why she refused to see him was she had been recruited by the LAPD to infiltrate the street racing scene to get an in with the 118 racers, a group that are believed to be robbing and smuggling. They're led by a former cop, Athena Grant, so they know all the usual tricks and keep outsmarting the police. Now that Shannon has died, Eddie's offered the opportunity, and takes it since it means a much higher payday that he can use to pay for his son's care.
He's supposed to get in with Maddie Buckley, who recently joined the group and doesn't seem to be involved in their crimes, but Eddie senses Maddie's in a bad place and instead chooses to go after the group's wild card (and Maddie's younger brother) Evan "Buck" Buckley. Buck's been banned from racing by Bobby Nash, Athena's husband, for unknown reasons, so Eddie figures he can help Buck sneak in and win some races to get his in.
It's just that. Well. Buck is very good looking. And sweet. And funny. And he adores Christopher. And...
Well you can see where this is going.
But oopsies :3 Eddie's still a cop :3 how on earth will the 118 react when they learn this? :3 and how will Eddie adjust when he finds the 118 gives him the family and support he's always craved? :3
we're an ACAB household here we all know how Eddie's gonna adjust. now the real question is how will he adjust to Buck's cock in his-- *I am dragged offstage by a comically large hook*
Basically I watched the first film and was like... you ever see something trying so hard to be macho it circles right around to being gay? Yeah. That. It was delightful. And I needed to write about Buck and Eddie being homoerotic about engines and gear shifts while racing sexy cars through Los Angeles immediately.
It's going to be very fun to write, I had hoped to write it this summer since I don't know if any of you have seen the film, but the first F&F film has a very sticky dog days of summer feel to it, the L.A. it shows is wonderfully lived in and grimy in a very affectionate way, but obviously I had to start working on my Halloween fics so that didn't happen. But it's still gonna be fun either way!

Aspec Penelope and Odysseus mean a lot to me and I want to ramble about it as it makes me really happy 🥺
If you don't like, don't read! Someone being aspec or sex-repulsed or sex-neutral is not insulting allos or people who are sexually active!!! And even then, some aspecs ARE sexually active just like these two end up being! This is all headcanon and any aphobes will be yeeted into the wine-dark sea. (semi-inspired by epic the musical but also...not.)
Aspec Odypen!
Both are aspec, demisexual specifically and are just like that. While they ARE Athena's pets, she didn't "make them ace". (It may have influenced why she's fascinated by them alongside their cleverness)
Both have situations that make it somewhat different in how they experience it though. I'll have what they both experience first. (Kind of just explaining what it feels like being aspec in a way, except they're shittier about it) Then Penelope as her's needs less explanation. For once in my life, Penelope isn't the one with the most stuff on her 😭
"Oh that person's very strong! Impressive! Oh, wait, is this supposed to be sexual? ...hm...Alright, I guess."
"Alright, I posed this way and looked at them like this and they seemed more open to this idea. Taking note for manipulation..."
"Goddamnit, I don't want you, I want all that silver 😩"
*sees what takes place during certain events (Symposium-esque event)* "...Yeah, I'm not doing that."
Both are pretty in their own way and use that to their advantage to get the things they want. Both get almost weirdly offended when outwardly flirted with and/or propositioned. Kind of sex repulsed (that changes when with each other but before they never really even think about it as..."What is everyone talking about? What do you mean "needs"?")
Friends? Absolutely!!! Not knowing someone but getting to know them eventually? Yeah! But the idea of only wanting to date or have sex because of appearances genuinely perplexes them both. Also, they weirdly test people and are just straight up weird and picky.
"How stupid and naive can you be to wish to court someone you know so little about? A stranger? I look pretty only to get what I want and that's not you... Yeah, we definitely won't work out. I'm going to rob you to teach you a lesson in how looks can be deceiving. I'm pretty but I'm also shitty."
"...You want to do what?! ...uh, okay... You know, what? >:) I know a place. Yeah, us naiads use it. Yep, just around here. Yes! The water is perfectly safe! Don't worry about the leeches! They're harmless! Completely normal leeches" *Steals their clothes and jewelry and leaves them to the very not-normal leeches.* What? It's not like they died!!! They shouldn't have been so stupid to trust me knowing nothing about me!"
Both also have hubris as their flaw so they also have a very shitty superiority complex about this. Fellow aspecs, don't do this!!! It's not nice!!! These two are both mean and nice and this is one of the ways they're mean. Very "While you were out doing whatever, I studied the blade" bullshit. Also, a "Me being unaffected by beauty makes me better at manipulating. Look at how stupid they get when I look all pretty, Athena. I absolutely made them believe that that was a fair deal!!!" Athena kind of encourages this behavior
Meeting each other is a very humbling experience for them both. They both actually learn that there's nothing wrong with being vulnerable with people, just because THEY'RE likely to mess with you doesn't mean EVERYONE is.
Onto Penelope Specifics
For one thing, Penelope is used to people immediately going nuts over Helen and she doesn't mind having less of the attention. As mentioned before, doesn't happen often but when people wish to possibly date, she tests, then sees "okay, I don't see this happening. I'm going to fuck with you now". She'll also just start doing weird shit in a "you think you can handle me?" way.
Thankfully, Icarius and Periboea are chill AND somewhat overprotective so the footrace usually goes in her favor of "I do not like them." Until Odysseus but you know. She just sees she won't click with most people.
Icarius and Periboea have a pretty happy marriage and she thinks that's sweet. One of her siblings doesn't have a happy marriage sadly and that's a big thing later on but she sees Helen and Menelaus with their childhood sweetheart thing going on and the other nymphs and thinks "Guess that won't be happening for me...I can be a fun river auntie." As she's kind of planning to be dedicated to the rivers fully if she can.
She also was there when Helen got kidnapped by Theseus :'D That does affect her.
Her actually testing him the same way he does when they first meet is part of the reason he falls for her so hard. "You do the same shit I do. Not only that but you were actually able to trick me! Wait, that broach, are you also one of Athena's pets?! And now we're scuttling about the castle basically entirely intuned to exactly what we're gonna do?! Oh, gods, that was so fun! Ugh, be my WIFE! 🥴 Wait, no! Sorry I scared/lied/overwhelmed you! Please give me a chance"
Her not getting a lot of genuine romantic attention has influenced her a little bit though.
She's genuinely pretty but it's in an unconventional way (sharp teeth, weird eyes, "Born in a Creek", etc.) So while at first on Ithaca, she was considered very strange, as naiad ties get better with her influence and people get more used to her, it's a "Oh, shit, she IS pretty." Also, she aged like wine. Why the suitors wanted her (also yeah, "I want to be king") and why she just didn't want them. Ofc, she wants Odysseus but she's also just someone who is usually unimpressed. (as Odysseus is as well.)
Odysseus Specifics
Very much a hopeful romantic. His mom and dad have a very loving marriage, (I want to write a thing on their love story), and knowing how his dad never took a concubine (It literally says he doesn't in the Odyssey). He wants what they have.
"Being with someone who you can be your complete self with, show all the good and the bad to and still loving each other despite it all. That's love."
As someone who is a person of many twists and turns, he desperately wants to find someone to show ALL his sides to.
So first up we have the fact that he blames the fact that he's never felt sexual attraction on the boar scar injury. (Boar Scar Idea Stuff Here) It's easier that way as he doesn't necessarily want to think about himself as being different.
Ancient Greece was fine with Nudity but he, being quite ripped up and "not all there" by the boar, isn't really comfortable with it. People often stare and him, being hotheaded, he's like "What are you looking at? I'll kick your ass!". It's kind of a convenience though because it also makes people leave him alone.
He's had "one relationship" but it was basically just a kiss. He had a one-week romance with Diomedes that ended badly and that's why he's mean to him in the Iliad. They're "exes" and Odysseus holds GRUDGES. (Go into that further here)
Then OdyPen meets each other. >:D
Clarifying this as I know I talk about it a lot with how "Odysseus was in love at first sight" and... YEAH. but also not. It's more of a "This is the fucking best and I KNOW that we'd be incredible together." He chills out a bit as he got that ADHD (they both do) and was all up in his emotions. Other folks with ADHD know when you get too excited and just...become a LOT. It was that. He calmed down a bit and realized he WAS overwhelming her, STILL wants to marry her but isn't in love yet as they JUST MET. And they finally get to know each other more and then he actually falls in love.
Penelope was always somewhat intrigued by him but it was only when he chilled out a bit and let her lay the ground rules of them getting to know each other. And she was in deep denial, then she was hit by a truck when she couldn't deny it any longer.
During the War
He doesn't have any listed concubines (Hecuba was an old woman in her 60s-70s...Be reasonable.) and even in the Iliad, he thinks of Penelope often. And when offered, he threatens or just is passive-aggressive, and eventually people understand that "I wouldn't do that if I were you. He'll probably stab you."
Odypen already give Aspec vibes in the Odyssey but hearing "Man of the House" with Epic and that "She's who I saved my virginity for" was like an "YES! ASPEC!" and yeh :D He wasn't technically "saving it for her", he just never wanted it til Penelope.
Alongside "Done For" a lil bit!
"...I'm not sure I follow... What do you mean by lust? Penelope's not here...oh no..."
Idk makes me happy to write them aspec! 🥺

Aaah percy-poseidon dynamic is killing me (saw your earlier post) because we could have much better(especially in heroes of olympus). I wish we got them interact and maybe see poseidon suffering from split personality? Romans arent fan of Neptune either did he went crazy like Athena? Or what?? And maybe a bit rage?? After his son fell into hell?? They fought against polybotes side by side but not even a crumb of that noooo. I find it hard to believe that their first interaction after tlo is in cotg. Oh man im not even gonna talk about neptune. Anyway, we were robbed and they are my roman empire.
agreed, the fact that they never really talk in hoo is wild to me. the only time poseidon responded to percy w radio silence was when he was trying to hide percy's identity, so his absence in hoo is uncharacteristic of him. the whole "gods weren't allowed to talk to anyone bc of zeus" thing doesn't really make sense either, bc gods were constantly interacting w the seven. and they were on the ocean! percy was fighting his siblings! percy fell into tartarus! like can we get anything? a fish that said "hey" or an offhand mention by another god abt the poseidon/neptune disparity to explain his absence would be better than nothing.
the lost potential of camp jupiter and the roman conflict, ugh. rick made this entire thing abt the romans fearing neptune and then never explored it (aside from the brief mentions of frank's ancestry, iirc). and there isn't a counterpart to percy, like nico and hazel or thalia and jason. percy being praetor should've done something, and could've began to unpack this, but the way it's written in canon it's like he was praetor specifically to fist bump jason abt it.
and in hoo, percy has this entire bit abt fearing drowning, rejecting his powers. and then he goes the opposite direction, pushing the boundary of what's acceptable. like, are we not gonna react to this?
but what really gets me is there's this scene that happens right before the end of tlo:
Tumblr media
it feels like it's setting something up, except that something never happens!

TLOU Spidey AU: A Rundown.
titled: katipō.
tlou-verse: a masterlist.
Featuring the pairing: Joel Miller x Athena Kallis (OC). Other OCs included/Mentioned: Rowan, Dev and Uncle Ari. Notes: Hi, Hello! So, I recently made a mini post about wanting to start a Spidey AU of sorts for TLOU/my OC, Athena Kallis, who essentially becomes a spidey/spider-woman variant. In this post, I'll be doing just that: sharing my thoughts and idea on the spidey au I have in mind for my OC as well as her relationship with Joel Miller and how it's effected in this AU. I hope y'all like this and if you like this, please feel free to let me know!
Let's begin, shall we?
Tumblr media
For starters, let me introduce Athena Kallis and her lore in this specific AU:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Athena Kallis was born on November 1st, near a settlement in Auckland, New Zealand. That settlement was known as Piha. Growing up, she'd love exploring the beachside and creating her most memorable memories there as a way of distracting herself from the mournful loss of her parents.
Her parents died of a tragic accident while she was young and at the young of 9, she would find herself moving in with her uncle. Where? San Marcos, Texas. However, she moved within the inlands of that area which arises some conflict with who she is and where she's from.
Later on in life, after graduating high school, Athena took the road to college, moving away from Texas and finding herself in Seattle, Washington where'd she study up on her education and use her degree to become a wildlife biologist at the age of 25. Her Uncle Ari had soon moved into Seattle as well, hoping to be near her whenever he'd like. He also found a job working for a nearby homeless shelter, one in which Athena would volunteer at from time to time.
Getting back to Athena, though, being a wildlife biologist was great! She got to provide expertise on conserving the biological diversity of national forests and grasslands while working to protect and recover endangered species. One particular species she worked on a lot was that of a spider: the katipō. The young woman grew fascinated with how it worked and what it's species was like. The spider, itself, also became crucial to Athena's life after the incident.
One night, while getting so caught up in her work and studying up on the spider, she hadn't realized that she got bit by the venomous spider she was studying. For a time (more like a few hours), nothing abnormal seemed to have happened after getting bit....that was until things started changing. Soon after, Athena found out just how much she had changed due to the bite. Things were sticking to her glue, she had a strong grip on objects and....she could shoot out webs AND climb up walls. She was living, human spider in a way. There came a time where she took advantage of these spider powers, it happened during robbery near the homeless shelter her uncle worked at. At first, Athena didn't know if she could help out or not but luckily she did as she managed to stop a criminal from going around the city and robbing other places. HOWEVER, that also came with the scar she now bares under her eye, a scar that she got while chasing down the criminal as he struck her with a knife. Athena figured that, if she can stop a criminal like the one before that, she'd be able to stop many others. It's what the city needed: A hero.
So, she became just that, a hero that Seattle needed. She managed to make a suit for herself, one in which the colors were reminiscent of her favorite bird: the wrybill, that meant her colors were white, black and gray. With the suit, she could keep her identity hidden while still being able to save citizens from criminals and turning them in. There was a cop, Dev Burman, who had become curious of why this spiderling was roaming the streets, why they were suddenly coming in to take out bad guys. He still keeps an eye out on the spiderling, hoping to one day get to know her a bit better even if he already knows about the girl behind the mask.
The people of Seattle loved this spiderling and Athena loved seeing how much she was loved, even if some had doubts about her. Her Uncle Ari was quite fascinated over a person in suit taking the streets to fight off bad guys, he just hoped that whoever was under there was staying safe. Speaking of Uncle Ari, he's important as he's the one who unintentionally gets his niece into a budding romance with his best friend, Joel Miller, without even knowing it.
The Beginning/Relationship of Joel and Athena:
Tumblr media
Joel Miller was close friends with Uncle Ari for a while, a bit after Athena left for college. Sometimes, Uncle Ari would mention him to her on the phone, was yapping about what the two discussed that day and everything like that. Athena never knew what he looked like but did have curious mind as to what he looked like.
Joel Miller was around Ari's age, having met him a bit after Athena left for college. From then on, him and Ari have been the greatest of friends. Sometimes, whenever Athena was mentioned, Joel was reminded of his sweet baby girl: Sarah. Sarah was Joel's daughter, his everything however, she was gone from him to quickly after a tragedy happened, he'll never forget what was taken from him, how someone he loved so much can just vanish like that.
While Athena never knew what Joel looked like, it was quite the opposite for Joel as he knew what Athena looked liked. Ari would show baby pictures of his niece to Joel from time to time and had even showed a recent picture of her attending some local event with friends Athena had sent to Ari. It was a polaroid picture of her and, while Joel would never say it out loud, he thought Athena was very pretty in his eyes. It seemed as though she could light up his whole world if ever got the chance to meet her.
and she did.
When Joel came up to visit with Ari, he'd told he'd like to stay for a few months, see what it's like away from Texas. Ari was thrilled about this visit, excited to see his best friend after months and even more thrilled that he'd be able to properly introduce his niece to Joel.
Both and Athena and Joel had met when Athena came in to help volunteer at one of the many cookouts the shelter threw every few months. Athena's mind immediately sensed that a handsome, older man was standing in front of her as soon as Ari called him out. Joel's brain was no good either, here Athena was, standing right in front of him. She was real!
The two introduced themselves, making small talk that day but both would eventually hit it off. Time went on and soon, Joel and Athena were gaining strong feelings for one another, feelings that would be admitted. They just couldn't help themselves around each other, it was a spark that matched between them. So, they do eventually get together and things are better than ever for the pair.
For a time, Joel doesn't know about Athena's identity as "The Katipō", and Athena keeps it that way for a while. In fact, the only person who knew at the time was Rowan Bauer, her best friend (and has a thing for Dev) and he's done a (almost) pretty good job at keeping it secret. She doesn't want Joel to freak out over his girl practically risking herself to save the city. Eventually, though, it's revealed to him that Athena is the web slinger he keep seeing on the news and tv. Things are a bit complicated for a while but, in the end, Joel realizes that all he wants is for Athena to be okay out there. That she comes home, still in tact, still carrying her love for Joel. That's exactly what she does because both she and Joel couldn't live without one another, they deserved one another and belonged together.
Bonus fun facts:
Joel has a calico cat named franklin.
Athena has a tattoo in honor of her heritage/culture and where she comes from.
Athena also has a blind salamander named Palo (though, sometimes he's referred to as "Matty" also 😉)
Tumblr media
notes: there you have it! a rundown on the tlou spidey au I've got going on! I've been loving this AU so MUCH that I wanted to share with you all. If you enjoyed or have thoughts, like I said, please let me know! I'd love to know. :))
(also, I apologize if there are any grammar mistakes in this post lol)

Buddie 6x05 Coda/Deleted scene because we were robbed!
[ 6x05 spoilers | 393 words]
The knock on Buck’s apartment door is unexpected but not surprising. Eddie has taken to showing up at his house unannounced quite frequently lately. Buck thinks he’s dealing with Premature Empty Nest Syndrome now that Chris has been asking for more freedom and has been hanging out with his friends. This visit however comes with an unexpected addition.
“Ah, who’s your friend?” Buck asks as Eddie all but shoulders his way into the apartment with the dog at his heels.
“This is your new roommate. Hoover meet Buck. Buck, Hoover.” Eddie says gleefully.
The dog, Hoover, tugs on the lead, and Buck crouches down to scratch behind his ears. Hoover leans into it with a dopey look on his face. “Hey, buddy. Oh, aren’t you a good boy?”
“Right, so he comes with this hedgehog and a warning not to leave him unattended at any time.” Eddie continues as he drops the lead into Buck’s hand and places a stuffed toy and what Buck presume is a bag of dog-related paraphernalia on his kitchen counter.
“Wait, Eddie, you can't just leave him here. Why do you even have a dog?”
“Well he was Bobby’s dog but Athena is allergic. So then he was Karen’s dog, then my dog, then Chimney’s nanny said no so now he’s yours.” Eddie grins triumphantly. “Chris reckons he has separation anxiety so I’m sure you will get along swimmingly.”
“Eddie. My building has a no dogs policy.” Buck stands up to face him.
“He’s only small, I’m sure they won't notice.”
“Ed–.”
“Buck," Eddie grips Buck’s shoulder with one hand and looks directly into his eyes, “I believe in you and I know you will do what is right for Hoover. Which is to provide him with a loving home and a lot of belly scratches.”
Buck gives a resigned sigh. “Now you’re trying to guilt trip me?”
“I am and I’m only a little bit sorry about it.” Eddie grins again. “Come on, you look like you could use the company and besides he comes with his own bed so you won't need to buy that new couch.”
“Low blow.” Buck deadpans and then Eddie turns those patented Diaz Doe Eyes on him and Buck caves in an instant. “Fine. But only because you're so cute.”
The second part is actually directed at Hoover who is staring up at him, tongue hanging out and panting happily but he does take some pride in the light flush that spreads up from beneath the V of Eddie's shirt. Interesting.

Zexal Month Day 11- Justice
@zexalmonth yes i know I'm skipping day 10, I just found this one easier for now X3
Tumblr media
Eliphas stood there, head bowed. He didn't dare make eye contact with Don Thousand Don, who had been a monster until now. Don, whose clothes were ripped and torn to the point that even the poorest beggar would scorn them. Even with him in this condition, he was still the king. He would always be the king, the master.
For he was Emperor Adonis, the one born with a miracle. No matter what he wore, how messy his appearance was. Even though Eliphas was dressed far more nobly, he felt inferior right now. He was inferior. He always had been. Adonis was the king. His king. And his role was that of a servant.
"Look at what you've done, Eliphas." Adonis's voice was harsh. Cold. The voice of an angry, powerful king. "Look at this destruction. You betrayed, betrayed my family, and what of it? This world is in ruins due to the war. There are children you traumatised by trying to use them as living weapons. There is my family that you let get hurt. Athena, Elpis, you took them and turned them into weapons along with the other children. Elips you took from his birth. Oizihle is dead. What kind of audacity did you have to believe you, who had always been so far behind, you could ever be the Emperor?"
Eliphas looked down. He couldn't speak. He couldn't justify what he'd done in any way.
For he had done it all. He had betrayed his Emperor, forcing the chaos to override all else in the aim to make the good king seem bad, and as such accidentally created the monster that created the armies of the Barians and gave power to the 7 Barian Emperors resulting in a never ending war. He was the one who took orphaned children and tried to use them to fight the monster. He was the one who took the little princess and made her a weapon, tried to break her yet she refused to submit. He was the one who had taken the infant Elpis and robbed him of his childhood and even his name. He was the one who ordered the men to capture Oizihle all those years ago, culminating in that boy's chaos consuming him and making it appear as if he was dead, leading him to the path of hiding, of deception, leading to his death now at Vector's hands in an attempt to break the cycle of vengeance. It was Eliphas's fault, all of this. But what else could happen? He was never the one meant to be king.
Eliphas was a servant. He could never be a king. So he bowed his head, intending to reply with an admission of guilt.
"But I will not punish you."
Eliphas's head shot back up. Those eyes he met now, they were the eyes of his dearest friend. The eyes that had made Ena fall in love with Adonis, the eyes that made Eliphas loyal to him. He couldn't even speak for shock.
"You may have tricked me, ay, but you yourself was tricked and used and overcome by power too great for you. You may have led to a war, but I continued it myself. I am not innocent, but I am not guilty either. Neither are you. For we were pushed down this path by those before us, and were too foolish to recognise it, but were also unable to combat it. We both are as guilty as each other in our crimes, and yet we both were consumed by powers that upset the delicate balance within us."
"For that reason, I shan't punish you. You must instead make amends like I will, by rebuilding this world to finally give our people some justice."
Note: Ozihle, the name of Don's eldest, is a made up name, combining the name of the greek goddess of despair with the greek word, according to google for "Mist".

people really saying that percy was crushing on beckendorf but what about silena and annabeth? personally, i headcannon that silena was annabaths bi awakening. i like to think they were very close friends; annabeth would hang out with her whilst silena worked in the stables, silena would do annabeths hair and makeup sometimes if annabeth would let her, and if anyone has read shatter out loud on ao3, star wars monoply and game nights cuddling on annabeths bunk in the athena cabin. we were literally robbed of their relationship, some of the scenes we got of them alluded to them being very close (for example, annabeths reaction to silenas death, which actually broke me) but we never really got to see them interact very much. hope we see more of them in the pjo series, and i really hope we get to see bi annabeth become real

There is such a potential on "lost on the sea" Idea.
In your post there is the implication Athena smh made it meanwhile Bobby didn't, right?
Watching the perspectives of all these characters dealing with this "loss" would be just so *chef kiss*, because the fandom does believe Bobby's death would be the one to impact the characters the most (the polls don't like). Also imagine getting Bobby's perspective in the middle of the characters perspectives while dealing with this loss? For the show to play with the scenes and emotions, leading the audience to believe they're watching the characters mourning Bobby at the same time they're watching Bobby's path to death, but he is actually found alive in the end??? Also imagine if in that perspective we got a "I'm not making, am I?" moment from him and Bobby's monologue is about how he does not want to die (the biggest contrast with his character in S1) on how he wants to see Athena, May, Buck, Chim Hen and Eddie again, to the point he even apologizes to his late kids for wanting them wait a little longer for him...
You! You get it! I WANT all the angst of people thinking Bobby is lost and losing hope that they are going to find him alive, but without the actuality of Bobby being dead. I LOVE too when the audience is in on it so WE know the character is okay because it makes it exciting to know that the person is coming back and the moment everyone realizes it's going to be okay. I think it would be a delicious way to add some tension to the opening and really let us see inside the character's heads which I feel we have been missing a lot lately, and a chance for the firefam to pull together as a family the way we SHOULD have seen in 6x11 but were robbed of to make the Buckley parents the center of attention for some reason.
Also I really love what you said about the contrast to season 1 and us getting to see Bobby FIGHT to get back home, to LIVE because he wants to live! We could get some good Survival Dad Bobby scenes too with him taking care of the other survivors and getting everyone working together to survive, and we could get some really great firefam stuff. Buck and Athena would be a great duo to see but you KNOW Hen and Chim would devastate us too, and Eddie...whooo boy you know Ryan would destroy everyone. It would be a great way to have May come back for a bit and have some good emotional work to do that leaves an impact since the actress is focusing more on school and not filming as much.
I just think it would be such a neat opener with lots of good emotional beats to draw the audience in while still showing that the heart and soul of the show is still rooted in hope and in the found family aspect that's been a bit lacking lately. And everyone in the cast can deliver when it comes to big emotional scenes and I think we as the audience after the past couple seasons of suffering, deserve to see them all break down at once about Bobby, but without having to actually lose Bobby.

Since the thought of ancient Athenian play Dracula wouldn’t leave me alone...
It is a lovely spring day in Athens and the citizens are heading - just as they were yesterday, just as they will tomorrow - towards the Theatre of Dionysos. The sun is bright in the sky and the playwright’s frowning at it - he’d been hoping for overcast, looming clouds, but it’s a beatiful spring day by the Mediterranean and a group of respectable Athenian citizens are preparing for the first play of the day’s trilogy.
The play opens and we are introduced to Jonathan, a young man of good family about to embark on a business journey to the Barbaric North. He’s receiving the final instructions from his father, the letter of introduction to their family’s contact, the local prince, who has apparently expressed an interest in establishing stronger trade connections with Athens - and we meet Mina, Jonathan’s bride-to-be, respectfully veiled and offering her bethrothed well-wishes and blessings as a priestess initiated in the mysteries of Athena herself.
We meet the chorus - Scythians, singing of our friend Jonathan’s departure in cheerful tones, extolling the virtues of their wild homelands, where the mountains are tall and the woods are deep and the rivers run strong and free.
We follow Jonathan on his journey north, leaving behind civilized Athens and then leaving behind civilized Hellas entirely, journeying north and ever north. As he goes, he is accompanied by another traveller, a wandering merchant we the audience can tell is probably Hermes himself in disguise. It is from their conversations that we first hear the name Dracula, as Jonathan names the man he’s journeying to meet.
And it is the “fellow traveller’s” worried reaction that clues us in that something is wrong. He advices Jonathan to travel elsewhere, but Jonathan is a dutiful son and adamant. After all, what does he have to worry about? Xenia is a sacred bond and he’ll be arriving as a guest.
They part, Hermes gifting Jonathan a token and asking him to always keep it close.
Jonathan finally reaches the lands of the host, the Lord Dracula, commenting on the wild beauty of it, the hooting owls and howling wolves. A storm draws near, thunder and lightning crashing like drums and cymbals, and he arrives at the gates utterly soaked.
His host is a gracious man. He is, of course, a Barbarian, a Scythian, and the actor is dressed to suit, but he speaks Greek, albeit with an accent that’s played for laughs in the first scene, and he’s running to and fro, being a good host, doing everything himself, and the audience is almost wondering if there’s been a mix-up, if perhaps this is not a tragedy at all, but a play intended for the final day of the festival, the day of back to back comedies.
Except something’s off.
Slowly, gradually, it becomes clear that this Lord Dracula is the only person in his estate, and the estate itself seems neglected. He is the perfect host, but his accent seems less and less funny, his quotes of the Odyssey and Iliad start referencing ill omened events.
And then Jonathan realizes that he’s trapped. That there’s literally no way out. He’s alone with a stranger and the estate gate is locked and surrounded by flocks of slavering wolves.
(The playwright is particularly pleased with the howling - the young hunter hiding backstage has a perfect wolf imitation).
On a full moon night Jonathan decides to go exploring, braving the wolves - that seem quiet tonight - and the chorus follows, singing back and forth with him as he talks about making his way through the dark woods, tripping over roots and dropping his token, fumbling for it in vain before giving up and moving on, following an instinct - until finally, finally he arrives at a  clearing where there’s light, torches and a bonfire and people.
And his host, the Lord Dracula, standing among them.
And here’s where the bit that the playwright’s particularly proud of comes, when the chorus of Scythians come forth and in a whirl of robes and a quick huddle to hide the change of masks, they transform into a chorus of wild and blood-thirsty women.
Of Amazons.
Dancing and singing like wild things around Lord Dracula, praising Ares the bloody god of war, and we get poor Jonathan, hiding in the shadows, commenting on what happens next.
The dance stops, the chorus starting a slow chant.
A woman - an Amazon - walks forward. In her arms she’s cradling an infant, tiny, wrinkled, swaddled to hide the tiny animal playing the part - and as she walks the chorus parts, until she comes to a halt before Lord Dracula, standing like the parody of a priest in front an altar.
She takes forth the “child” - a boy, we learn from Jonathan addressing the audience, and she no doubt the Amazon mother - and places it on the altar. And here comes the piece of proper grand guignol, as Lord Dracula raises his knife - and perhaps the chorus do another huddle to hide the actual kill, or perhaps they do not.
Perhaps there is the shrill shriek of a small piglet or kid dying, then abruptly cut off. Then the chorus parts and we see Dracula once more, carrying a goblet of something red. He makes a libation for the gods, praising Ares above them all, then raises the goblet to his lips.
Of course, this is the part where Jonathan can no longer keep silent, but cries out in horror - drawing the attention of the Barbarian priest - or is it Ares himself, playing at his own priesthood? - and the Amazons.
He flees off stage and they pursue. Oh, how they pursue.
We hear Jonathan’s screams off-stage as the wild women catch him.
And then a single woman walks back on stage, adjusting her martial dress in a manner implying that she’s putting it back on.
The chorus follows, singing a song of Amazons and their many conflicts with the Greeks and their heroes.
The chorus parts on the final act, and we find Jonathan awakening back at Dracula’s estate, his clothes torn. He laments, likening himself to characters like Pentheus and Orpheus, making absolutely sure through his implications that any person in the audience who didn’t catch what was happening off stage is now perfectly clear that our friend Jonathan suffered the ultimate unmanly fate at Amazonian hands.
Dracula enters - long gone is the slightly comedic foreigner of his first scenes, before us stands a warlord or possibly a god of war, in full Scythian martial dress. He reveals his plans for Jonathan’s future, to stay a captive at Dracula’s estate, for his “beloved daughters” to entertain and keep captive (there’s some heavy implications that the Amazons and the wolves are one and the same) while Dracula himself intends to journey south, to infiltrate Hellas starting with Athens itself, bringing his blood and barbarism and horror with him.
And there’s nothing Jonathan’s going to be able to do about that.
Dracula leaves and Jonathan is left guarded by a pair of spear-wielding Amazons, never left alone as the days pass. He laments, he worries for his family, his bethrothed, for the entire civilized world.
Finally, the full moon rises and the wolves howl, and he is escorted out of the estate by his two guards. The chorus arrives from the other side of the scene, some of them crawling at first before rising, many throwing wolf pelts on the ground as they sing of the first Amazon, daughter of Ares the blood handed, and how one Amazon became many.
The two guards give Jonathan a shove and he runs off stage, once more pursued by the howling women.
It is the Amazon guards that describe what happens next, how Jonathan flees through the forest until he finds himself standing at the very edge of a canyon, a rushing river beneath and the fearsome wolf-women in front of him.
It is the Amazon guards who cry out, lamenting the loss of their boytoy and breeding stock - “Alas, I have not even had the joy of feeling a quickening yet” - as he leaps, chosing the river’s cruel, cold, bashing embrace over that of the dangerous women.
And so the first play ends.

Um Hi can I ask this question? When did you think Bobby and Buck's relationship shifted and be seen as father and son?
Like S1 Bobby said Buck has this thing calling him pops but he said aren't family
In S3 Bobby said Buck isn't his kid
In S4 (from LS) Buck considers Bobby close to a dad
In S6 that's when Bobby finally agreed that he sees Buck as his kid
But it's weird because why does he refer Buck as Kid even if much younger ones come to the firehouse?
I think it was growing right from Season 1.
Bobby told Buck they weren't a family because he was actively trying to keep his distance from all of them. He was reacting to his own trauma. More eloquent people than me have spoken about how Buck helped break that barrier down. It's even explored pretty well in the coma episode as well actually - Bobby couldn't bring himself to keep maintaining distance. Hen and Chimney helped with that as well of course - but they'd had multiple captains by then and they were a bit jaded about it all so they weren't willing to push the status quo from the beginning as much as Buck was.
But neither of them were quite willing to admit what they were to each other then. If pressed, they would probably say Bobby was Bucks mentor. And you can see that mentoring relationship throughout the rest of S1 - he gives Buck advice about dealing with the job, about Abby... but then you can also see him doing things you wouldn't necessarily expect from a work mentor, like teaching him to cook and going to the hospital when he chokes on bread.
So those lines were blurred right from the beginning and in S2 it trudges along like that. Bobby is Bucks mentor but maybe goes that step further with being someone he can rely on beyond the work context (see: his support when Maddie is taken by Doug, Buck venting to him about Abby - that plaintive "don't tell anyone" when Buck finally admits he knows its weird that he's still living in Abbys place? So son-coded.)
And then we get Season 3. That "Bucks not my kid"? That wasn't firm setting of boundaries like the "this is not a family" in S1. That was plaintive. He wanted it to be true, but he lost his kids and can't be a father anymore, so it isn't allowed to be true (even though Athena is pretty blatantly disbelieving and don't forget we as the audience also got hints of how heavily Bobby was involved in Bucks recovery which also points to their relationship being deeper than mentoring-Boss and employee).
And one thing the narrative tells us very explicitly through the lawsuit arc is that Bobby is treating Buck differently. Whether Buck should be back so soon after his embolism is almost a moot point to what this arc says about their relationship: Chimneys word was taken when he said he was ready to come back after the rebar and the stabbing, Hens word was taken when she said she was ready to come back after the earthquake, Eddie's word was taken when he said he was ready to be back after Shannon's death.
Bobby didn't take Bucks word because, while he is protective of all of his team, he takes it one step further with Buck and wants to just totally shield from as much as possible.
That's canon - Hen calls him out on it in the episode Buck comes back! And Bobby has to reckon with the idea that he can't rob Buck of his autonomy just because he wants to stop him from getting hurt, and that's how that arc ends (and I've spoken about how I think that leaves so much unresolved but at least we get some resolution for it in S6!)
But they are more settled in their understanding of their roles in each other's lives by the end of S3. To me, that's what their talk in the finale is supposed to signify.
And we then see it in S4, where Buck says outright "my captain isn't my dad but he might as well be".
And this is also the season we finally meet the Buckleys and the contrast between Phillip and Bobby (since we're focused on fathers and sons)? Immense. There's a fantastic gif set somewhere that says something along the lines of "what Phillip heard" and "What Bobby was there for".
And that sums up the difference: even when Buck was being objectively infuriating, Bobby stayed and Bobby helped. He loved Buck anyway - in spite of Bucks mistakes but also in spite of his own deep rooted feelings of unworthiness about ever being allowed to love like a father again.
Bobbys saw this lost kid and his instincts wouldn't allow him to ignore his needs no matter how much he wanted to. Compare that to Phillip whose instincts should have been telling him to love and protect but he ended up ignoring his needs for years.
For the rest of season 4 and 5, I think we then see Bobby settling into the idea that he can be a father again. He owns being May and Harry's stepfather, not just their Mom's husband.
And I think that's what puts him in a good enough mindset that the next time he gets confronted about treating Buck as his kid (by May, another child hes been treating as his own for a lot longer than hed ever admit to)?
He doesn't deny it.
There was no one moment that took us to that point where Bobby was willing to admit to being Bucks dad. It was a culmination of moments, a journey built right from that very first episode of Season 1, where Buck was 'the kid' of the station.
He's no longer 'the' kid, but he'll always be Bobby's kid.
