Thinking about Charles, again, and his telepathy. Charles avoiding possibly killing Shaw, not because it makes sense, but because he's afraid of death and feeling other people die.
Charles having no sympathy for Shaw because while Charles may forgive many transgressions, he can see into Shaw and know that Sebastian has no remorse, and enjoyed every torture he'd enacted upon Erik and the world.
Charles, trying to reason with Erik, but not knowing how because of the helmet. Charles being able to know and hear the minds of the ships' crews, sensing their fear, ignorance, but the kindness that they're capable of, as much as Erik is capable of. (Erik's response to those ship crews is ultimately fear of what they CAN do later on. He has the means to stop them, so it's not much of a self defense tactic to just blow them up. To Charles Erik is like those men on the boat) Charles does not articulate his thoughts well, and says about the worst thing he could say. One of the things that makes Erik doubt Charles' reasoning.
Charles, a decade later, attempting to avoid the deaths of other people, drugging himself so he doesn't have to feel everyone else's pain. Logan traveling to the past, showing Charles' that his way isn't the only way, might not be the right way at all. Charles' telling himself to accept his own pain, and his younger self realizing that he can handle more than he thought he could.
Charles working together with his X-Men and Erik to defeat and kill Apocalypse.

Been thinking long and hard about this, how did the sentinels get Peter?
Like, in DoFP we know that the sentinels can adapt to a mutants powers, but I don't think this includes moving at whatever speed Peter can reach. I just don't see how he would've been taken out by the sentinels honestly
I think that it's also possible Peter could've died during the seizure Charles had maybe, but other than that idk. The sentinels do not seem fast enough. I mean, Apocalypse only stopped him by trapping his foot and even then that took time, and the sentinels can't do that!
Important to note: my knowledge of this is terrible. I'm going off a few movies, but still my opinion is that it wouldn't be possible
Okay hold on, I'm ridiculous and looked into this more: absolutely not. I do not think it would happen, and I would also like to point out that I think the Westchester incident may not have happened in the timeline I'm thinking, idk I'm trying to wrap my head around this decently
Other people agree too, I've seen a few that say he wouldn't of been killed or at least not without some serious effort from both sides of the fight, so I'm still pretty confident about this.

Pairing/Shippy list!
I was tagged by @1337wtfomgbbq :) already hyped up I’m sensing there’s gonna be a lot of fun 🤩
Here's the rules:
List your top seven ships.
Put all of them in order of your love for them; 7 to 1, 1 being your favorite.
Name their fandom.
Supply photos for said people.
7) Peter Pevensie & Edmund Pevensie (Narnia)
Tumblr media
Geez. Is there even a proper tag for this?? Not many people ship these two I get it but I just, well, tend to drive down to an end off the beaten track. I really like their interaction in the first film and come to think of it, this was the first movie I’ve seen in movie theater so it kinda hits different.
6) Rogue/Shadowcat (Xmen: Evolution)
Tumblr media
They clearly had some issues at first but ended up getting along really well. Enemies to roommates to friends in combat and… let it hang in there for a bit bcs there could certainly be a lot of possibilities so who knows :D I really enjoy watching them bickering like an old married couple. Could do this all day
5) Hiccup/Astrid (httyd)
Tumblr media
Best anime couple ever! I love how their romantic relationship unfolds in rtte. A slow-burn, took a whole movie, plus three spin-off for it to blossom. Burns slowly but naturally and beautifully.
4) Logan/Scott (Xmen)
Tumblr media
When you talk about Scogan there's no way you can get around talking about that scene where Logan flipped Scott off and Scott just acted cool and cracked a smile. It's all you need to board this ship. Ugh it's shame the writer decided to kill off Scott in The Last Stand. But fortunately it was rectified in DoFP (Don't mention Logan (2017)) and Logan still got years to beef (and highkey flirt) with his frenemy :D
3) Magfam (Cherik + Speedyson) (Xmen)
Tumblr media
What I wouldn't kill to get more wholesome magfam content? For once can we forget about the angst and pain and just sit down and enjoy something of a rom-com, something light, a cute story of how a remarried family getting together. A remarried couple and their teenage son, who hasn't lived with his father for a single day before, try to work out together as a family. Isn't that what we all deserve?
2) Harry Osborn/Peter Parker (Spiderman(raimiverse))
Tumblr media
Quality angst. Their story has everything you need for a classic tragedy. Geez, I remember crying my heart out watching Harry die in Peter's arms as a kid. It left such a massive impact on me that I'm still not over it to this day. I really hate it that NWH did them dirty, Peter out of character, and implying that Harry, being someone vengeful, died of his tomfoolery, making him a cue for some meaningless joke. That's not how they should be. They deserve so, so much better.
1) Neuller (Men's Football RPF)
Tumblr media
My emotional support. My safehouse I could escape to. They are the reason why I'm here in the first place. Decade partners and soulmates on the pitch, two dorks who are always on the same wavelength and always seen together. For Thomas, Manu is the best goalkeeper in the world and the wall of steel behind him, always out there to defend so he could go full throttle forward without worrying; and for Manu, Thomas is his spokesperson on and off the field, leading the charge and helping him organize the defense. Together they grabbed almost all the titles they could. They complete each other, as quoted from Manu himself, Thomas is more than a teammate and he can't imagine a world without him.
Honorable nominees:
Silvercyclops (Xmen (movieverse)): It's a shame they never thought of exploring their friendship. What a waste of the chemistry between Evan and Tye.
Rogue/Gambit (Xmen (all media types excluding movieverse)
Lincoln/Alternate Lincoln (fringe)
Tagging: @manuelmueller @cincydrawing and whoever interested consider yourself tagged by me :D

12 & 15 for xmen
🔥 choose violence ask game 🔥 X-Men
12 - the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
Still only talking movieverse ... I mean is that even a question? It's criminal how fandom slept on James' Scott in favor for Logan. I love Logan, I want to climb Hugh Jackman like a tree too, but surprise, surprise, you can like and hype more than one character. Oh well, more for me to devour then.
15 - that one thing you see in fanart all the time
There's not really a lot of fanart for the movie fandom, so again including comicverse ... This is personal preference but I really would prefer more top!Scott-art instead of all the twinkification. Scott Summers is a lot of things in my head but not a twink. That guy is as versatile as they come and he's got far too many control issues to full time submit.

ITP lychee is a fandom dinosaur
it's always fun, reading fic for a fandom as old as xmen (an ever evolving canon/media), for a ship as old as logan/ororo (an ever evolving ship, but always a fan favorite for whatever reason!)
they hadn't been ""canon"" until like 2013, but there was a lot of fic and a healthy following even before then. and everything had different... eras, I guess, you could call them? 🤔
there's 1990s to early 2000s stuff where the main source of romantic conflict was either forge or jean. some fun comicverse fic, some TAS-based fic, even evoverse fic (all had their own brands of rolo). if you wrote these you deserve an award 🥇
2000s was also when the movies were peaking and movieverse loganroro was its own thing with its own character interpretations and tropes. jean and scott get regularly character assasinated in these fic lol 😰
there's post-2006 stuff when storm was written out of xbooks because she was suddenly (very suddenly) getting married to BP and! my god!! the resulting drama and angst fic!!!! lmao 💔
then there's the "they're canon now??" honeymoon phase that lasted a year or so. too short after thirtyodd years of subtext. 😭
I'm still waiting to see what 2020s rolo fic can be since the fandom has kinda died down. someone needs to write an AU where logan leaves the trauma trainwreck of xforce and put him on mars to heal pls. maybe he can help 'ro tear brand a new one, then have some fun with the battle-loving side of arakko. or maybe the new TAS reboot will breathe some life back into the ship?? 😤
this post brought to you by reading and comparing rolo fic hosted on: ao3, the rolo realm, ffnet, and some old archived webpages that i hope stay on the internet forever 🥲 RIP to the yahoo mailing list i still think of the lost fic there...

The way that mystique was pretty much the centre of the Xmen movie verse, but in the cartoons she is just a pretty shitty mother.

I’ve noticed a terrible lack of Cherik on Tumblr (why???), so here ya go ;)
Prompt list | Wattpad | AO3
This contains spoilers for “X-Men: Days of Future Past”!
          * * *
Prompt: “Did you do this to yourself?”
Character(s): Erik Lehnsherr; Charles Xavier; Raven Darkholme/Mystique (mentioned); Logan/Wolverine (mentioned); Hank McCoy/Beast (mentioned); Moira MacTaggert (mentioned)
Pairing(s): Cherik
Word count: 1,314
This is kinda set in the flight-to-Paris scene in “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” but you don’t have to remember/know the scene to read this.
         * * *
"Did you do this to yourself?"
Charles looked up from the chessboard, slightly startled by the question. Outside, the sky was pitch-black, to the point where even clouds could not be seen. Although the plane has not yet rocked, the brunet feared that a storm might be brewing — one as turbulent as the blue of Erik's eyes at the moment.
He decided to ignore the obvious implication of Erik's question, as he did with most other events in his life nowadays:
"Do what?"
"Get rid of your telepathy." Of course. Erik was never one to hold back. Charles could hear it in his voice just now: the slight reproach, the disappointment, the regret framing the edges. What do you know about regret. He shrugged, gave a simple answer:
"I did."
"Why?"
Charles cast his gaze down to the chessboard. He thought for a moment, then pushed one of his pawns forward before sitting back and reaching for his glass. He downed the rest of the alcohol, but somehow Erik's frown burned still more than the amber liquid did.
"Charles, why?"
"Why not?" The brunet answered curtly, glaring now at the metal-bender over the rim of his glass. "You make it sound like it's a bad thing."
"And it isn't?" Erik snapped quietly, cognizant of Logan who was fast asleep a few seats away from them. "Charles, you destroyed a part of yourself. For what?"
"Your move."
"What?"
"Your move." His frown deepening, Erik glanced down at one of his knights. The chess piece shuddered, before sliding across the board right into the path of Charles's rook. The telepath smirked before snatching it up, but the rook he was holding slipped out from between his fingers as Erik's bishop moved to take its place. There was no humor on the blond's face when he set the rook down with an audible clack, among the pawns and knight he had collected from Charles. Damn, I'm losing.
"So what if I got rid of my mutation?" The brunet sat back, arms now crossed defensively in front of his chest. "Nothing about that was a part of me, anyway."
"What?"
"Nothing about that was a part of me." Charles repeated, his tone becoming harsh. "It was always about other people. And honestly? That's fine. I tried, you know. I really did. I cared and I loved and I thought if I did enough of that, maybe it will finally mean something."
"And it does."
Something about that response made him mad. "How do you know? Because I did that and I still lost everything, Erik. Everything! And I know you don't need me to tell you about loss, but goddamnit, I fought and I gave and I trusted and in the end it didn't amount to anything! Now the future is all fucked up and I've got to fix it and I have no idea how. I'm not even the version of Charles everyone wants! So how can you say that it meant anything?"
It was only when he was finished did Charles realize that the chessboard was hovering in midair, and that he himself was the one who had unconsciously pushed it off the table. A wave of shame washed over him, but Erik only rearranged the board before standing up and grabbing him by the wrist:
"Come on."
"Let me go." Charles tried to pull away, but Erik's grip was steady. "Erik, please. I can't—"
"It's fine if you can't. I'll do the talking instead, if you don't want to." The unexpected gentleness in the blond's voice made him falter. "Besides, Logan really looks like he needs his sleep."
His hand was positively stuck in Erik's, and he didn't want to wake a grumpy man with killer bone-claws, so Charles mumbled:
"Where are you taking me?"
"Just to the back of the plane." Erik did tell the truth, but Charles didn't really care. Hell, even if Erik had said he was going to kick him off the plane right then, Charles didn't think he would've noticed either. He was so exhausted, inside and out, that he allowed Erik to lead him into the small dark space and even lock the door behind them, without any further protests or questions as to what the blond was about to do.
"What do I mean to you, Charles?" Erik suddenly turned around to face him. In the tight space, Charles noticed the blue of his eyes seemed luminous. He stuttered:
"W-what?"
"What do I mean to you?" The blond leaned closer, forcing the brunet to step back. "I hope your answer isn't "nothing"."
"Wha- no!" Charles stuttered again, entirely uncharacteristic of himself. Is the alcohol finally kicking in? He took another step backwards, but his heel struck the cold metal wall. There was no more space, yet Erik kept coming in closer and closer, until they were only about an arm's length apart... maybe even less. "No, of course not."
A moment of silence. Charles almost jolted when Erik spoke, in that quiet, low whisper he could never quite get used to:
"Good. Because you mean a lot to me, Charles. A lot."
There was no need for telepathy to see how serious the blond was — and that scared Charles, just a little bit. "When I thought I was all alone, you made me realize I wasn't. When I thought I had no allies, you showed me you were one. When I thought the path I was going down was set, you taught me how to use a whole new kind of strength."
Erik paused again, contemplative. Charles was about to offer up some sarcastic remark about how he might've lost his mutation but not his memory, when suddenly he saw the blond raise a hand. The defensive part of him flared a warning, but all Erik did was brush away a lock of hair that had fallen over his eyes.
"You're right, I can't tell you what to do with your ability." The metal-bender continued, his voice kept to a quiet murmur — barely enough to drown out the thumping of Charles's heart. "But I won't stand for you treating yourself like this. Even if you think you've failed Raven, even if you think you've abandoned your students and your school... you saved me, Charles. You still have me. Your efforts do mean something. So, please, don't ever think of yourself as worthless. Because you aren't."
Something warm fell down his cheek. Startled, Charles brought a hand up to wipe it away. Crying? Why was he crying? He hadn't done it in years — not for Raven, not for Moira, not even for Erik. So why, how, how could he cry for himself now, the most undeserving of them all, the most guilty, the most pathetic, the most—
"It's alright." The trembling of his hands halted first, when Erik grabbed hold of them despite their cold wet messiness — and then the trembling of Charles's whole body, when the blond pulled him into a tight embrace. "Nobody's going to judge you here, so you can cry as much as you want."
Face buried in Erik's chest, Charles expected to feel something — the roughness of his shirt, the sound of his breathing, even just the faintest whiff of the alcohol they both drank. Instead, all he could sense was warmth. So he cried. He cried for all the nights he spent awake, even with Hank's serum coursing through his veins. He cried for all the days he spent drinking, even when his head felt like it was going to split apart. He cried for all the anger, the hate, the lies he gave to himself, because drowning in them felt still easier than facing the truth. He cried for it all — and also, for the thought that maybe, his efforts do mean something after all.
Maybe, what Erik had told him was really the truth.
