[Start ID. A redraw of the official icons of the ten named slugcats from Rain World, arranged in two rows: Survivor, Monk, Hunter, Nightcat, and Gourmand in the first, Artificer, Rivulet, Spearmaster, Saint and Enot/Inv in the second. Each is drawn in roughly the same pose as in the original art and fitted with speculative interpretations of their biology, and the second image is a “dead” version of this. For example, all ten have slug-like rhinophores in place of ears, cuttlefish-like colorful eyes with strangely-shaped pupils, cephalopod-like beak "teeth", expressive barbels or oral tentacles at the corners of mouths, spiny radulas, and the frilly mantle fringes of sea slugs, though otherwise their faces are squishy, simple and mammalian-shaped.

Cream-colored Survivor and yellow Monk both share triangular, bicolored spots matching their eyes (which are tan and brown, and two shades of blue, respectively), small, bumpy fringes, and relatively neutral looks on their faces. Defensive-looking Hunter is mostly a dull orange-pink, though their blobby fringe is a more violent red and their back is purple and marred with lumps. Nightcat is navy blue and flecked with dots of yellow and teal, their rolled rhinophores are a lighter blue, and their shading fractures into stars in some places. Gourmand is almost uniformly tan, their wide, very ruffly white mantle fringe bordered by a spray of white spots, and their beak sticks out from either corner of their smile. Primarily red Artificer, snarling, has yellow markings of multiple sorts, a prominent yellow dewlap and their characteristic dark scar taking out a chunk of its face. Rivulet is a darker blue than usual, with long barbels, red gills and rings, countershading, and a cheerful expression, sticking out their radula. Spearmaster is purple with orange accents, eyes and spots, a large fringe and spines down their back. Saint’s green caryophyllidia are marked by small, yellow diamonds, and their long, thin radula extends far below them. Enot is decorated with mottled red stripes, blue patches, yellow stars, and an uneven and almost cartoonish imitation of blush, though generally the same deep blue as Nightcat, a passive or almost slightly smug look on their face and their rolled rhinophores out to either side.

In the second image, nine of the slugcats’ eyes are crossed out, indicating that these are death icons. They look fairly the same, with mostly expression differences. Survivor is caught in the beginning of a threat display, a karma flower sprouts from Monk’s side, Hunter is burdened with overgrowing, purple and blue rot, Nightcat’s rhinophores are pinned back, and Gourmand looks mildly disheartened. For the final row, Artificer bites its radula between small plumes of smoke, Rivulet drops their expression, Spearmaster looks very startled, Saint looks almost entirely the same besides half-open eyes and their markings greater in number, and Enot grins confusedly. Design notes and shout-outs under cut! :]

The following people are some of those who’ve inspired my designs most since I started this eight months ago (or just inspired me to get a little weirder with slugcat biology), among many others for sure, and I thank them for it–but this is simply to bring attention to artists I find cool, and in no way an obligation to interact or anything :]

Survivor: Surprisingly the hardest to pin down the colors for, since nothing with its sibling's palette seemed to match up right (I did have to add in a little blue somewhere for Monk, the beginning of making it clear how much I’m simply going based off of vibes for the colors of scug innards). I consider them, Monk and Gourmand to be part of the same gene pool of slugcats, and even possibly the same colony even if the latter isn't really related, so took a bit of Gourmand's coloring and fit them in with their inspiration: Goniobranchus verrieri. They serve as a bit of an introduction to my ideas of scug traits (i find it really fun how many people have thought to add so many silly sluglike fixtures of biology completely independent of me, buuut here I’m mostly talking about species variation), and like in-game they��re pretty average! They, Monk and Hunter have a couple scars sourced from a piece of Joar's concept art that I'm failing to find, those across the bridge of the nose, under the eyes, and across the rhinophores, respectively, and my Survivor interpretation features many on the back of the neck, as a result of survived lizard bites.

Monk: Their coloring is primarily based off the fact that I associate them with blue fruits, honestly, a bit because I was compelled to establish a familiarity with Rivulet, and lastly inspired by the spots of Goniobranchus kuniei (and geminus, less important to me as one of my characters is a kuniei instead, but more fitting). Between the yellow + blue and the circular marking in the center of their face, they’re meant to bear a little resemblance to an iterator that shares similarities with the characterization I’ve given them, and similar coding of her sibling can be seen on Survivor’s markings around the eyes. As both a “default” slugcat and one whose campaign I haven’t played, though, I can’t say I have much more to point out about em.

Hunter: The whole rot thing made for a really fun time drawing them, and while the color change on their back is a result of this, it’s also an excuse to relate them to Babakina festiva, arguably my favorite sea slug (mostly for sentimental purposes). And to Spearmaster, a fellow messenger slugcat, and it serves as a gradient between Hunter’s pink and the “traditional” color of Rot seen in the DLLs. Aside from their affliction, they’d actually be the plainest in terms of design, as they don’t have any patterns or quirks of body type, just the red + purple and strange lumps + possible malnutrition. I can’t remember if NSH had created them in particular or just...caught + released or something, but it probably wouldn’t be strange for a lab-grown slugcat to be simple like that.

Gourmand: Like the two above, they’re rather plain in terms of coloring and adaptation, and like the two above, I find that fun. I decided it would be nice to avert the “all slugcats being of the same body type, and Gourmand’s out of place as the exception” thing by just...adding more fat to all of them, really. I did want to emphasize their sheer bulk even so, both fat and muscular (not like I couldn’t have still gone further with it, of course, but slugcat anatomy can be a little obfuscating sometimes, and they were intended to look rather plush considering personal size headcanons and therefore the lack of proper gravity), and the thick and flounced mantle looked like a good addition, as per their sea slug Glossodoris hikuerensis. Unlike Survivor and Monk, I didn’t attempt to hold their resemblance to any particular other character (which means a little less to balance out the “default gene pool” thing), so those are all the design notes I have for em.

Artificer: The second slugcat I’ve ever played, or finished the campaign of, my favorite for at least a long time, and the first thing I did was give them yellow accents, the shape of which have troubled me slightly (not quite like the spots or stripes of the others). They’re both a little more appealing and more explosive-looking to me, and considering how early on I played Arti, actually present in some of my older art. It does give them a little resemblance to Saint (completely intentional, two slugcats with strange relations to karma), as well as the fact that its radula is green for familiarity with one of its children (at some point it was going to have all-green markings, even!). I’m generous with their scars, partly because it was fun to overemphasize the one on their face and partly because it does seem like a reckless slugcat, on top of the dangers of its explosive abilities–I’ll probably just keep adding more forever. Mostly-red sea slugs aren’t too common, but Hexabranchus sanguineus works for sure. The ridged, yellow dewlap can expand for combustion purposes, or something along those lines. Arti’s where I began experimenting with a lot of the mildly-offkilter features seen in my interpretation of slugcats, as they’ve once again been a favorite from the start.

Rivulet: I've obviously given other slugcats spots, deeply enjoy the bubbly-soda markings of other peoples' slugcats, and thought seal riv would be cute. Despite not too closely resembling it, they've been government-assigned Hypselodoris bennetti, for color reasons and for a couple sentimental ones. Originally, the colors of every scug were meant to match up with the custom colors I gave them at the beginning of their campaigns, (though Arti, Gourm and Spearmy are the only three who actually apply here, since I've only played through half the slugcats: I gave arti the yellow as mentioned above, gourm brown eyes and spearmy light pink spears, furthered by the outskirts pearl accompanying me and that palette all the way to moon. Tolerance training for eternity in hell cause I already knew about the maroon pearl quest). I initially gave them the colors of the bi flag for fun... but with the limited palette of this image, I was left without pink for a while and decided to see how they'd look in red. I then realized how they now wonderfully matched Moon, and besides, red's a sort of camouflage in deep water! As a side-note, the difference between their eyes and those of others always bothered me a little for anatomical purposes, and the cephalopod eyes were probably influenced by this!

Spearmaster: Inspired as much as possible by @notyourfunnyman ’s wonderful spearmy: designed in a way that helps it fit in with scavengers, at least between the long sensory tentacles, big ruff, back spines and slightly thin/distended anatomy, a form of defensive mimicry. I always had annulate rhinophores in mind, for a little diversity sure, but mostly because the shape reminds me of radio antennae and communication towers (seems fitting for the comms array and being a messenger slugcat)! I started searching for a real-life slug to give them just by looking up their rhinophore shape...and was met immediately and coincidentally with annulate-topped nudibranchs that fit them more perfectly than I could've imagined: Flabellina and surrounding clades, I think Paraflabellina ischitana works very nicely. The orange was completely unplanned, but there wasn’t a place for light pink among the other slugcats’ palettes, and importantly it likens them to both Hunter and Seven Red Suns a little more.

Saint: I am very much a non-furred slugcat enjoyer, with respect to those who aren’t, so figuring out the only visibly furred slugcat was an interesting challenge. I’ve decided that they likely have other, milder adaptations for help in the cold, mainly just more efficient fat storage, and what looks vaguely like fur is instead a bunch of tubercles (called caryophillia, for the second reminder out of three). Their inspiration doesn’t have these, however, Miamira sinuata’s numerous yellow and blue spots (not to mention...whatever’s going on with that shape) and general effect of being the only really green nudibranch I could find were probably perfect for a strange green echo. Not pictured, but their beak-teeth are tiny and flat to make a surface for grinding soft food against with the lack of a functioning radula, which is tipped with a specialized spiny “grapple-hook” for better traction/grip (not to mention the numerous little teeth running down the whole thing).

(Best part of hiding this under a readmore means edits will be seen by all reblogs, I'm mostly sure, because I completely forgot to mention! The spots on their forehead are simple eyes. Their camera eyes appear closed in-game, I like to believe their complex eyesight is rather poor anyways or otherwise reason that they aren't seeing out of those, and while this was far from her REASON for attunement with the world, it does help compensate for mainly viewing it through a canvas of simple light and dark. This, and the fact that their swapped-out "fur" is not only to commit to a lack of hairs but contributes to sensory input!)

Nightcat/Enot: I guess you could say I found the “these two are technically the same person” compelling. (E.g. similar colors, both very strange and enigmatic, and Enot/Inv/Sofanthiel’s remark during the dating sim about getting removed from Arena Mode.) I doubt they’re the only two slugcats in their body, considering humans with DID tend to have more than a few (and I find it very funny that a slugcat bearing resemblance to Nightcat appears in Gourmand’s ending. They’re allowed in the colony and Enot isn’t </3), and I have to credit @faelingdraws ’s art for being what convinced me on it! Their design inspirations come down to trying to balance a few different ideas: making the patterns and palettes of both look oddly similar (special mention to the stars, since those are fun to draw), basing them off of Felimare sechurana and juliae respectively, using blocks of color with the same placement as in Enot’s official art, and specifically making Enot look...biologically reasonable and imperfect, whilst also clearly trying to imitate human displays of emotion (what with...the eyes and blush on that one piece of official art).

Lastly, here’s just a lineup with notes on body shape and size. Most of the nicknames (existing to give a little more space, that’s all) are obvious, and while I can’t remember why I shortened Nightcat to Nox, it is in honor of my friend by the same nickname :]

Thank you to the anon who sent me an ask reminding me to edit the ID in today (I couldn't yesterday because my wrist hurt from writing so many IDs), I would have forgotten forever, just like I kept forgetting to post them!

[ID: Ten recolors of art of an original design for Mickey Mouse, in the post of Sonic from the "yes there are 64 genders" meme, where Sonic is posed with his back to the camera, looking over his shoulder with one hand lowered, the other raised to point, and one foot in the air, as though posed to start running again. This version of Mickey has black fur, a white face, glasses held on by a band, shorts with suspenders, fingerless gloves with a large cuff, and boots. Doki Doki Precure AU Idea

So I��ve had this AU concept in my head for a while, and I’ve decided to just put it out there.

Basically, in “Searching for a Dream” (my fav episode in Doki Doki), just like in the OG episode, Ira will start having small flashbacks after having hit his head. However, these flashbacks are not just of his life as a Selfish, but…other memories. Memories buried so deep that it seems almost impossible to find them.

When Gula yells at him, all the memories come flooding in. But not just the Selfish ones..................we won’t know what else he remembers until the end of the episode though. He appears to fall into despair (kinda like in Smile Precure) for a moment, but quickly refocuses when Gula shoots the laser thing at him.

Like in the episode, he knocks is away. But then he turns to the Cures (specifically Diamond) and, with a neutral expression (though more like resting bitch face), says “I remember everything now.” Diamond says that she’s glad, since that means he’s made a full recovery. Then Gula jumps and Ira knocks them out of the way, he leaves, yadda, yadda, yadda, that whole part of the episode continues as normal.

But instead of the scene with Ira on the roof thing, we skip to the scene with Rikka and her parents having dinner together. It’s very nice, very wholesome. BUT THEN we have a new scene.

Rikka goes into her room for the night only to find Ira sitting on her bed, looking a bit like the Shinji chair meme, while also having an existential crisis. Rikka is very much shooketh, and confusingly asks “I-Ira?? Why are you...” but he interrupts. “You know, you’re a better doctor than I thought. Turns out I’ve always had amnesia, even before you found me on the beach.”

He looks up at her, tears streaming down his face, and says “But I remember now. I wasn’t always a Selfish.”

“I used to be a human.”

So yeah, that’s the intro premise to the AU!

Basically, the Selfish weren’t always beings of darkness. They used to be regular people living in Splendorious (I refuse to call it the Trump Kingdom).

This is how someone turns into a Selfish:

First off, they need to have been exposed to the power of the Mirror Pads in one way or another. Kinda like being exposed to radioactive energy, but it’s actually just good vibes.

They also need to be a relatively selfless person, selfless enough to qualify becoming a Cure (though they don’t need to actually be a Cure, just selfless enough to be qualified).

Then, they must protect someone from a blast of dark energy, sacrificing their own life in the process. But right before that, they must first choose the selfish option, before they change their mind and decide to do the selfless thing.

Right after they die, their body will be taken and consumed by the Darkness.

Their heart will be filled with Darkness, their blood will become infused with Darkness, and their mind will be taken over by the Darkness.

All memories of their past life will be erased, and they will wake up as a Selfish.

They’ll look completely different while also looking the same. They will have light blue hair (just pretend all of them have light blue hair), olive-yellow eyes, unnaturally pale skin (whether or not they were originally pale), and the little black wings behind their ears. They will also be wearing a different outfit.

Their personality will also change. Each of them have a heavenly virtue they represent the most, so the Darkness will take that part of their personality and turn it into its deadly sin.

For example, Human!Ira used to be very calm and patient. As a Selfish, he is instead very anger. Human!Marmo was very generous and giving, now she is very greedy. And Human!Bel...he was a lot of different things, but one of those things was hard-working. Now, he is lazy.

Basically, as a Selfish, you get a bit of a personality swap and become very selfish and mean. However, there are small moments in which their original personalities shine through. It’s incredibly difficult for them to be selfless, but it is less hard for them to be good, at least if they try. And, given the right circumstances, like when Ira had amnesia, they will return to their former personalities (though missing the memories).

If they somehow manage to regain all their memories, they will be in a delicate balance between being good and evil. But if they do a major act of selflessness, then they will overcome the Darkness. Sure, they will always have some selfishness in their heart, everyone does, but it will be balanced.

Now, I have also made some small plans on the past lives of Ira, Marmo, and Bel, and each will have some sort of connection with one of our Splendorious characters.

Ira was once a humble assistant to the knight of Splendorious, kinda like a page boy or a squire, but without actually getting any lessons and instead just helping people out. This gives him a minor connection to Joe, because though they didn’t know each other that well, they were acquaintances. Ira’s past personality was basically the one he had when he had amnesia. I will not get into his whole story/arc because that would be to complicated and take up most of the post.

Though Ira and Bel have their own very interesting stories, Marmo’s backstory is kinda my favorite. Get this: Marmo............................................was a Cure. I know, right? I’m a genius and should win all the awards.

Marmo gives us some interesting insight into what Makoto’s relationship with other Cures was like before the fall of Splendorious. The two weren’t exactly close, but they did fight together a few times, and Marmo (who I will call Cure Deuce) was actually the last Cure who Makoto saw before she had to go to Earth. Their relationship was like that of a student and a teacher, but the student wasn’t in any of that teacher’s classes, so they didn’t really know each other. But the student still trusts the teacher as an adult.

They actually get to know each other a lot better during the fall of Splendorious when they teamed up to fight together, and got along pretty well. Still deciding whether or not Makoto was there when Deuce died. I’m pretty sure that’s not gonna be the case, but it would cause extra ~trauma~. Then again, it would be also pretty tragic if Deuce told Makoto that “I’ll be fine fighting on my own for now. You go find the princess” and Makoto left, feeling confident that Deuce would be fine. After getting to Earth, she sadly assumed the Deuce had been turned into a Jikochuu like everyone else, but she had hope that she could see all of them again, and only had a certain amount of guilt. But to find out that Deuce died after she left her behind? And that she was then turned into a Selfish? And that the woman she had been fighting this whole time was actually Deuce all along? That would leave some crazy guilt.

On top of this, Makoto and Marmo would have a very interesting rivalry before the big reveal. So it will be a lot of fun. For me. Not for Makoto. Or Marmo.

Bel is interesting in terms of his relationships to other characters and the role he plays in the grand scheme. He was actually the King’s valet/personal secretary who sometimes acted like a bit of an advisor. This connects him to the Princess reincarnations. Yeah, things get crazy with Bel, and I’m not gonna get into all that insanity right now. In the past, Bel was very hard-working, to the point that he sometimes overworked himself. He was the exact opposite of lazy, and he was a pretty rad dude. He was also loyal to the king and a good support to him who helped him in a lot of ways. He was just generally the perfect man in terms of personality. He gave off DILF energy. I’m not sorry.

So that’s what I have on those guys rn, or at least that’s what I’m willing to type out.

While the Selfish are basically opposites of their past selves, they did keep some of the traits they had in their past lives.

A primary example of this is fighting style. Ira’s fighting style is the most sloppy and frantic. It’s that of someone who doesn’t really know how to fight, but might have seen others fight, which makes sense given Ira’s background. Marmo’s is eerily similar to that of a Cure, but a very experienced one. Bel’s fighting is probably the most intimidating, because though he was mainly the King’s valet, he also served as a bodyguard. Bel is perfectly capable of dealing fatal blows, which is why the Cures are really lucky that he is too lazy to fight most of the time.

A second, smaller trait the Selfish will carry is certain types of knowledge. They can’t recognize people from their past lives and won’t remember anything about said people, and they definitely won’t remember anything about their past selves, but they do have some certain types of knowledge related to their past expertise.

For example, Ira still knows how to do some of his assistant duties, Marmo still remembers some things about how Cures worked and the system behind that (if she hears Ace say something about the “rules of the Glitter Force” or whatever they call it in the Japanese version, she will probably say something along the lines of “I’ve never heard that rule before. Usually the handbook talks about protocol and stuff”), and Bel is still really good at his job and has knowledge on how the kingdom worked.

And a final trait they will keep is their mannerisms. Bel sits on the couch the same way he’s always sat, only raises one eyebrow in a look that can only be described as parental disappointment whenever he disapproves of something (a trait he’s had for years), and walks very slowly and deliberately, something that will never change.

Marmo puts her hand(s) under her chin a lot, pucks her lips when she’s upset, and makes a very specific facial expression whenever she rolls her eyes, same as she’s always done.

And Ira still slouches when he leans against a wall (his favorite standing position), still says “yo!” as a way to greet people, still has the same cackle-laugh.

These little things will be used as bits of foreshadowing as they use elements of their knowledge and we see little parts of their past selves shine through.

That’s all I really have for now. If I ever make more stuff for this AU, I’ll probably put it under the tag “Former Human Selfish AU”. Actually, that will be the name of the au. You can add your own stuff if you want since it’s an au after all. Credit me if you use my au, but also you can use my au. Use my au. That’s a demand.

Dreamed I started watching a new (entirely fictional) precure season on a whim. Quintet of girls, (though there was no blue Cure) and unusual emphasis on their high school, though I couldn't figure out a consistent theming. (Seemed to be sports at first, but then trains happened, so idk) The results:

It started with me watching an episode out of order, somewhere in the middle of their precure career, where four of the five were at school after dark, doing a sort of MotW-enforced test of courage as it forced them to face their various fears and the others supporting them through it, (discrimination and mockery for Pink, failure and disgrace for Grey, and darkness and isolation for Yellow) ending in the last girl (Orange) being completely unphased by whatever it showed her and kicking its ass.

The punchline; "Any humiliation you could throw at me doesn't matter when I already embarass myself every day!" As she wrapped it up in her scarf (which it like, drenched in some sort of gross goldenrod-colored grease or something?) and high-kicked it down a flight of stairs into the school basement, where it finally disappated in a burst of flame, taking the scarf with. Pink and Yellow still hugged her anyway, though. ^^

Then there was a rewind to like, the start of things, where the girls met in gym class. Orange, Grey, and Purple (the last gal who'd been absent in the prior bit) were seniors, while Pink and Yellow were a grade below them. Anyway, all five were chatting idly while taking a rest+water break from an indoor basketball game, and a disaster pentagon of one-sided crushes sprang up pretty quickly. (Orange was into Purple, Purple seemed to want to dote on Yellow, Yellow was into Pink, and Pink was utterly head-over-heels for Grey, who was barely aware she existed yet but seemed faintly amused by Orange's fumbling antics.)

From there, it went to the villains. The current leader was like, this android CEO guy in another dimension, sending subservient robots through to disguise themselves as humans and spy on people as like, the precursor to revenge on humanity for forgetting they existed. It was implied that the robots and pocket dimension were like, the result of either an advanced ancient civilization like Atlantis that had died out long ago, or these guys were from the future and didn't realize it, misblaming the present.

The guy was stressed because the first few attempts had already been foiled by the Cures separately, but his second-in-command suggesting he reconsider the plan wound up having the opposite effect of making him double down harder whoops.

Anyway, after the scouting team, poorly disguising themselves as baseball players, got shouted off the diamond outside the gym so actual students could play baseball, they decided to unleash the first(?) MotW. Only for the girls to immediately all transform and wreck its shit before it could even do anything, and the rest of the 'runtime' was dedicated to them basically doing that spiderman pointing meme at each other as they realized the others were all Cures too; first time seeing they weren't alone in having this power, since the prior incidents that had brought them on had all been in separate parts of the city.

Then it skipped forward again, to like, the start of the second cour's worth of episodes. The CEO guy, who'd seemed like the Big Bad at first, was just defeated last episode, and now his second-in-command and some other high-ranking androids were having a power vacuum struggle. A new android gal showed up out of nowhere to also throw her metaphorical hat into the ring, and suggested all those competing for leadership prove themselves (or get disqualified) by fighting the Cures directly.

Meanwhile, the team was in their new base, a single silvery steam engine (which seemed to have some space-warping shenanigans going on, the outside being fairly small but the interior being roomy enough for them to sit and have tea) chugging through a forest somewhere and wondering what to do now. They'd (seemingly) defeated the androids, but the fairies who'd given them their powers still needed help of some sort, their realm still kinda falling apart, so they were planning to go see if they could do anything about that.

(Also, this wasn't remotely hinted at in the dream, but thinking back now, kinda wondering if the fairies were actually the formerly-advanced civilization who had created and then abandoned the robots?)

But then before they could plan any further, the train came under attack; the androids had a sleek (if oddly flat-ish) train engine of their own, more Art Deco styled with glowing Tron lines, and a big open-air platform at the back, where a couple of the prospective new leaders were standing and launching attacks. One of them was a frog-themed android lady, and the other guy seemed to be themed around either a rhino or a hippo?

They seemed to be the weakest of the inner circle, and the Cures dealt with them pretty easily; hippo guy got dunked into a pond as the trains passed by it, (hopefully was waterproof lol) while one of the Cures (I think Orange, since the dream seemed particularly biased toward her) grabbed the frog-lady's tongue whip weapon and swung-and-flung her away using it.

But unfortunately, the mysterious newcomer android lady who had suggested this whole thing was secretly there too, and while the others were distracted, she ninja'd into the Precure train to commandeer it just as they left the forest behind for open fields. Worse, Grey was still driving that train, and so got taken hostage with a knife to the throat; leaving the last shot of the episode being the other four stuck on the robots' train as both it lost power and their own transformations timed out, watching the captive Grey being carried off into the distance.

This was episode ~14 out of the usual 52.

(I imagine they would probably rescue her soon, but there was still very much a vibe of status quo being rather unreliable this time around.)

Also, apparently one of the VAs they got for this series was also a singer, so taking a page out of Symphogear's book, they found ways to like, put in a bunch of like, grander broadway-tier songs for her to sing here and there along with the more typical pop-y OP and ED, so released an album after the first thirteen episodes, (with plans for three more to release as the season progressed) which I decided to listen to while going for a walk afterward. Can't remember too many specifics now, (just that the voice kinda made me think of Stack, who's sung for some vocal Touhou remixes) but I did really like it. Also, a faded-out picture of the Orange Cure's face was on the cover, again kinda interesting/unusual focus bias.

My, dude, Patti Lupone. Spoilers for those that haven't watched the show, but we've already technically seen Pink multiple times with Rose. So, whatever. It was nice hearing and seeing Blue when she kidnapped Greg, but it was a little too casual for me. White Diamond fucking terrifies me.

Yellow is just...perfect. The whole appearance just radiated command, royalty, and supreme authority. Also, her Pearl amazingly shows the sass and attitude of yellow gems and I adore it! Plus, the memes with her face cannot be outmatched.

Also, her stepping on Steven....can that be me instead? I wouldn't be like Steven. I'd immediately die, but it would be a happy death lol x3

decided to finally draw some digital art after procrastinating for 2 months. i had a lot of trouble with their hands, their eyes look a little wonky, and i forgot to color in the buttons on their cardigan (AND put my signature on the drawing) but this is definitely an improvement over their old ref sheet i made in august of last year. anyways happy pride month!

Morzul and Triddle for the 'if they had a kid' meme! (that is 100% what I'm calling the second one)

Morzul's kid:

Name: Retuo Ashengrotto

Gender: Cisgender GNC Male

General Appearance: White hair with light yellow ends (undyed), amber eyes with slit pupils that have a slight diamond shape. Pale skinned (but doesn't get sunburn easily)

Personality: A Generous Spirit though not without his own wits about him, very clever and has a way with words like both his dads, overall perhaps a bit sweeter in a way that many think is insincere but it is truly very genuine.

Special Talents: As both an Adeptus & Having Mer blood, can breathe underwater but also is fully able to adjust their form as they please just like their Adepti father. UM is similar in nature to Azul's "It's a Deal" but can also be enforced with check and balance via Verbal means (which shows Morax's abilities influence on development)

Who they like better: Azul (Though has no real "favorite", Azul just gives the best hugs and he really likes hugs)

Who they take after more: Morax

Personal Head canon(s): Initially his hair showed no signs of any ombre or striation as a child, which made the two think that perhaps the mer blood of the two of them had taken more priority, the ombre began showing however when they got closer to puberty, with it being a light yellow to complement the white hair rather than the orange-yellow amber shade that Morax's own darker brown hair has. Has also show ability to not only hold a merform like Azul, but also an adeptal form that's draconic in nature like Morax since most adepti are able to freely manipulate their physical forms to take on the appearance that they feel suits them best. Morax chose his name after the one his old friend Azhdaha had before he lost many of his memories to Erosion from the Ley Lines of Teyvat.

Triddle's (Trey x Riddle) kid:

Name: Kendell Clover-Rosehearts

Gender: Nonbinary (any pronouns or they/he/she)

General Appearance: Got Riddle's bright red hair, but Trey's golden yellow eyes and the slight eye crinkle when they smile. He's pale skinned but tans easily, and she tends to wear clothes that are both masc and femme or androgynous, often mixing and matching them to adjust their presentation.

Personality: Very even keeled in terms of composure, does have a temper, but its hard to rile up unless you hit specific buttons, very selfless and tends to be rather soft spoken. Has a mischievous side that many people do not expect due to how calm and soft spoken they are.

Special Talents: They unlocked their UM really young, and got a variant mix of "Off With Your Head" with it being called instead "Ruler's Crown", which has a mix of "Paint The Roses" (where they overwrite the magic of another with their own) and "Off With Your Head" (where you block off another person's magic), with Ruler's Crown working as an overwrite of Unique Magic of others, blocking their use or for them to claim for a certain time period to use himself.

Who they like better: Neither, they like both their parents equally

Who they take after more: Riddle

Personal Head canon: Trey and Riddle both worried over them when they were little, as they were concerned that they might also develop Addison's like Trey has, but perhaps thankfully, while they are still immunocompromised, they do not have Addison's Disease.
