Here are some more of my random pjo headcanons:

-silenas favorite subjects were math and physics (and maybe chemistry but mostly the first two). She will make her way trough a math problem easily. I think that she would help annabeth with like the ecuations o smt when she was building a cabin (she did not die what are you talking about). Silena wouldve be like elle woods o lidya martin from teen wolf.

- she also wanted to study medicine, bc i said so

- despite popular tiktok believe, i think annabeth would hate booktok, at least at first. I think she would grow to like it over time once she finds her niche within the community, but yeah she would not like it at first.

- jason LOVES poetry. Not so much writing it (although i think he does from time to time) but reading it. He really likes emily dickinson.

-will is a horror movie fanatic, mostly slashers and not some much the a24 type of stuff. His favorite are scream and a nightmare on elm street. He also points out the innacuraties of yhe wounds in the movie.

- annabeth and hazel would really like sabrina carpenter and boygenius, they get together and have a karaoke night.

- percy is more into like 'rock' (argentinian rock to be specific bc percy is argentinian bc im argentinian and said so) so he likes led zeppelin, soda estereo, AND MANESKIN, big big maneskin fan. BUT he also likes ricky montgomery and the 1975.

- silena and will become friends when silena asks for his help understanding some things and becomes his 'second in comand' in infarmary.

-She also is very vocal about only using makeup that is not animal tested and is very invested is talking about the importance of not testing in animals

- rachel and percy do like drawing afternoons and they just get together and draw and paint differents things and give eachother feedback

- silena love to wear those flowly tops with long sleves that like tie in the front instead of her camp shirt. She refuses to wear something thats an ugly shade of orange (i have a very speficic image of silenas style if someone is interested let me know)

A lot of focus on silena but yeah :)

considering you mentioned that tyler was devastated that he couldn't ruffle percy's hair as easily when they get older i'm gonna assume that they're close? or grew close? what's their dynamic like (enid, sally, annabeth, percy, tyler)? does enid know that they're all demigods? if so, does being a werewolf play a part her figuring it out (like can she smell them the way saytrs can, wait is she a werewolf in this au as well?? bcs i think i read so somewhere but i'm not too sure)? also did knowing that percy was a demigod have any influence in her hiring sally or did she find out later? does she know their godly parents? wait is tyler even a demigod?? how did they get to camp? what were chiron and dionysos reaction to enid coming back, to idk drop off the kids or check in on them (also the reactions of campers who went during the time enid went, i mean, if there's any still alive 💀) also what's the fight w zeus about? what kind of godly quests did enid complete before she found annabeth (and did she get any rewards for it)? and also in your drawing of younger enid, you can see a scar that shows a XIII and i was wondering the story behind that👀👀?

But lemme explain, Enid picks up Annabeth after a few years on working under the God's directly. Immediately, she starts the sweets on America business to make sure Annabeth has a stable life compared to what she gone through. Being a demigod is hard, it's only right Enid makes sure it's easier for her daughter

When Annabeth needed to go to kindergarten, Enid made sure to hover around, after all she's rather aware of her daughter's lineage. It's where she meets Sally and well, they hit it off considering that they're both young parents.

Then the school day ends and wow, those eyes are rather familiar, enid thinks as she reaches the classroom with Sally.

As Annabeth smiles up at Enid, her eyes catch the grinning boy next to her.

Oh fuck, that's her uncle's eyes. Talk abt making this shit complicated. So now Enid stays around because one, that's her cousin and two, she may not be a hero but she cares.

After a month or two, when Sally loses a job, Enid offers her a spot at Sweets on America. Now they're pretty close, three years later :) does Sally harbor feelings? Who knowsss

Enid met Tyler a year after that, when he stumbled in bc Sally was offering samples when he was twelve something.

As for Tyler, he is very much a normie! Just a tad clear sighted like Sally. He was kinda freaking out because his dad has been telling him that he's seeing things like his mom, whos also clear sighted

And well.. The mom had an experience rather similar to Luke's mother in the books so it's no wonder he clings to Enid so much

Since Annabeth and Percy meet alot earlier compared to Canon, Percy tends to loiter around the shop with Sally

This is where he meets Tyler! And vice versa

They're kinda a lil family! Except, Sally couldn't fully embody the mother role. She's more neighbor essentially.

As for Enid being a werewolf, she was cursed. It's why she got that bite scar along her wrist but luckily she got cured during one of her first few quests after her exile. She's okay now, just a few leftover instincts but that's about it.

Since the present pjo au takes place when Enid is 30, Annabeth being a young 7 and Tyler a simply 14 something so they won't be going to camp for a while

Besides, you think Enid is going to let them go there? After what they did to her? Absolutely not.

Enid is also a child of zeus!! So any fight is practically a fight between father and daughter

I purposefully made their ages young so Wednesday can easily settle into the mother role, also bc domestic life with a child is pretty cute. Especially when a smart-ass like Annabeth is there to make sure her parent is dating someone worth her time

I’m going to be honest I think some nico fans are a little to hard on fanfic writer’s people are writing for free and I see it all the time the notes when y’all attack shippers solangelo do this pernico do that people are writing for free and it keeps fandom alive driving people away cause one don’t like a ship is shitty just don’t read the story it free heck I’m in an anime community and if you know anime fans it gets nasty but even they try to not attack writers everyone is agreement not to attack artist drawing but why not extend the same grace to writers

It feels kinda breathless reading this but yeah I get your point and I wholeheartedly agree.

Even before engaging with the PJO fandom, I've been made aware of how nasty a English/Western-based (yeah I made that word up) fandom can get, so I'm mostly prepared to witness some... incidents (?). It's hardly a surprise at this point lmao.

There's always a line to follow. And someone behind you that would yell "Hey! That's mischaracterization!" whenever you're brave enough to escape the prison. This fandom treats unconventionality as if it was a crime, which reduces a lot of the fun. Shame.

I reckon it happens to every character's fandom, not only Nico - like, there should be a line when the community crosses a certain number, their quality decreases as much as it grows bigger. 😂😂😂 And yeah by that same logic, the Nico fandom would be one of the harshest bc the nature of his popularity.

I'm aware of the anime community. Though, if I read it right, anime originates from Japan, and Japan is without a doubt the laxxest when it comes to borderless creativity, so yeah, in a way, it's still better than a fandom brainwashed by the Western purity culture.

By the way, I don't think artists are any better in... whatever this is. if one is hateful towards something, they will attack the creator regardless of whether they're a fanfic writer or fanartist. Perhaps, the artists would have better chances of gaining a certain amount of supporters, who would defend them should need be, but again, that also means they have more risk of encountering nasty viewers as well.

All in all, things are not the brightest (since when they are anw) - that's why I'm here! 🥰🥰 To help destroy it faster, really.

Jk (or maybe not). I am proud to serve as a secure haven for those with unconventional creative sparks, even if it means challenging societal norms - for nothing other than to spite the shipping police, really. I make a point of trying to encourage every type of creativity, moreso to fanfiction just bc I'm mostly engaging it with - not bc my support is limited lol. They're probably going to find a way out of this situation before it becomes too close of a call, but if Apollo were to actually die, I think Zeus would actually intercede. At worst, his intentions for Apollo's punishment might be to live and die permanently as a mortal, but dying a month into his punishment might cross the line there. Besides, if Apollo died, he'd have to find a new Sun god.

"Now it was clear that our master-servant relationship could not be so easily broken." Okay, so even Meg can't release Apollo from her authority.

Okay, so once he said this to Meg, I started wondering how old Lit was and after some Googling and being careful to avoid spoilers, I found everything I need to know about him except his age. He's also a child of Demeter! Meg's bro! That makes "Reaper of Men" a marvelous pun. He has a sister named Zoe, unrelated to Zoë Nightshade. Also, his Wikipedia page is depressingly short and part of his fandom wiki page is literally a copy-paste of the Wikipedia article. According to Wikipedia, he challenged people to harvesting contests and beheaded the contestants when they lost. Guess he's really good at that. Then Hercules came along and turned the tables on him and that's how he died. Apparently the PJO series is the only ever piece of pop culture poor Lityerses appears in. I still don't know his age.

"run over by a herd of armored ostriches." THE OSTRICHESSSSSSSS! Man, Lit's really taking a beating today. First he gets run over by a roof and then he gets run over by a bunch of big birds. Now I see where he gets all the scars from. Does this happen regularly?

"She howled in rage and the net blasted upward, ripped from its moorings" She does still have magic? Holy shit, she can do more than sing!1!!1! She seems surprised by it afterward, though. Has this never happened even once when she was in the Sea of Monsters? Surely she'd be in equally dangerous situations. Or maybe she's surprised she was able to conjure enough power to rip out the whole net.

"I was quite content to be annoyed, once again, by Meg McCaffrey." I like this ending line. I dunno, I just like it.

Also, this chapter made me realize that the cover art is not, in fact, the two of them flying under a bridge. That's netting and if I looked closer, I would have seen the arena. So sue me, the blue looked like water. I just thought the ostriches could walk on water.

class 1-a hobby hcs >:D

Kyoka pole dances. it took her a while to get good bc it was hard for her to relax her body at first but once she got the hang of it she never stopped

she thoroughly enjoys it too. its become one of her favorite emotional outlets bc she says it helps her emulate her emotions through her movements

Hagakure used to cheer in middle school

one of Sero's parents and said parents siblings were all in the circus so he learned a lot of performance arts over his years of aliveness

besides silks and contortion, he dabbles in aerial hoop, is pretty decent at trapeze, and weirdly skilled in knife throwing

bc of this he is also incredible with stealth missions

Bakugo and Mina both dance except Mina does hip hop and jazz while Bakugo does ballet and lyrical

Iida has a very obvious passion for theater so he is not only an extremely convincing liar when need be but also vv skilled with his voice due to being in a few musicals in middle school

Deku likes P L A N T S

he studies botany and its one of his few hobbies that is ENTIRELY unrelated to his future as a hero

he also likes puppetry

he says it keeps him sane (think that one episode of Teen Titans Go)

Kaminari's parents made him do a lot of shit as a kid so he dabbles in soccer, competitive swimming (it took a LOT of control due to his quirk), doubles tennis, theater, sewing, and a few instruments (trumpet, saxophone, xylophone, and the piano)

he is also exceptional in gymnastics and its the one thing his parents made him learn that he still does and is passionate about

Tsu absolutely LOVES rug making

she adores it and its her favorite thing to do whenever shes at home and has the time

Yaomomo took piano and vocal lessons as a child but her passion is in literature

she reads at every given opportunity and writes poetry

Kirishima boxes. that is all.

Ojiro is a surfer boi and he has a lot of medals n stuff bc of it

Todoroki likes to crochet

his mom taught him how and the first thing he tried to make was an All Might sweater for Deku that came out all kinds of fucked but Deku loves it with his entire being regardless

Uraraka and Tokoyami both like photography

Uraraka has a cheap camera she got for her birthday one year and she is always finding new ways to make the best outcome

meanwhile Tokoyami has a small collection of high quality cameras that he has acquired over his years of living

his favorite subjects are always things found in nature so sometimes he takes pictures of Deku's plants

he also writes poetry, writes music, he draws, paints, and is studying anatomy (he has a skeleton in his room named Jules-Albert after Nico's chauffer in pjo)

Shoji likes making jewelry so all of his friends have smth they can wear during training that wont break

Mineta writes fanfiction. when i say fanfiction i mean the most toe curling smut imaginable and actually has a pretty decent following bc of it

Koda studies color theory. like its creepy to others how much he knows about color theory

he talks about it all the time with Tokoyami

Sato has a very strong interest in culinary science

Aoyama plays the harp, sings, acts, is decent at ballet, and makes clothing

drew would’ve probably matured a bit (and gotten therapy because of her trust issues after silena had betrayed them) and would’ve been the big sister™ and made piper at least embrace being an aphrodite kid and helped her train

reyna and thalia !! meeting each other !! reyna telling her about jason and generally being intrigued about the hunt, thalia feeling happy because jason is alive and well

camp would’ve had so much more children, so much more people who could be affected with that war and i think that would’ve changed a lot about the overall atmosphere of the book

leo not having to shoulder all the responsibilities of building the ship because percy is not going to let him miss meals and training and campfires just bc he’s so focused on the ship

piper being taught by both drew and annabeth to use her dagger and her powers properly, and how to use it to her advantage. her charmspeak is much better and she knows when or when not to use it, and she’s much better at wielding katoptris

the gods still being useless as fuck and percy and annabeth getting so frustrated

nico getting more easily accepted into camp jupiter bc (1) jason isn’t wary of him (2) there’s already a child of pluto and he is generally more respected than neptune (3) he’s fought a war and is kinda camp half-blood’s unofficial leader since percy and annabeth are ‘retired’

he also only remembers will.

nico frank and hazel as a trio !!!! hazel and nico having sibling bonding and nico giving frank the talk and trying not to laugh bc frank looks so scared

nico defeating the shades with all his king of the ghosts thing and having all his memory come back because of that

malcolm being a part of the 7 bc we need a child of athena and i want him to have character development (he’s 17 here)

the whole eidolon situation is changed because it’s jason who’s in control, and he’s handling the situation a bit differently from reyna

them going to rome and malcolm setting off to find the athena parthenos and everyone looking out for him

it’s different without the daedalus laptop, and a bit longer, but malcolm still remembers it, and he’s always been more resourceful than most of his siblings, and draws the design carefully on the wall, successfully tricking arachne

it’s reyna who catches malcolm, and they both fall because reyna isn’t about to let him conquer tartarus on his own no

nico doing his absolute best trying to guide everybody towards the other side of the doors praying to whatever god will lisen that reyna and malcolm are ok

and he remembers bob- and he’s not sure if bob will listen but he whispers his prayers to the wind anyway, and bob dives into tartarus because nico asked him to. 

they go through tartarus and they go past akhlys in a much different way- they are, after all, children of goddesses of war, they can think of strategies to worm them out of such a situation

boo happens and there’s the war

the war is so much worse- the titan war looks like child’s play compared to this. the gods are at last there, because they made a promise and they do not intend to break it

everyone working together but there is still bloodshed and the older campers, the war veterans blood goes cold because there are children on the battlefield and what are they doing there they aren’t supposed to be here

clarisse, katie, percy, annabeth, the stolls, chris, and everyone who fought in the titan war fighting as a group, destroying every monster they see

jason leading the romans with octavian, and the eagle demolishing monsters as the legion destroys anything that comes their way leaving destruction at their wake

will and nico being a power duo, eyes glinting with power

reyna piper and hazel working together as a trio as they fight side by side, fighting as if they’ve done this for years

frank using his powers as one of his arms transform into a bear claw while growing a scorpion tail, being his own personal army

leo burning hundreds of monsters and giving swords to those who have been disarmed

malcolm using strategies long forgotten and tactics so confusing the monsters just keep getting more and more surprised

apollo and artemis bringing down wave after wave of monsters with their silver and gold arrows, apollo’s children and artemis’ hunters by their side

hades poseidon and zeus working together

the seven being the ones to first reach gaea and go fuck what the prophecy says, we’re all going to take her down

and they win, but there’s far too many funerals

it’s more impactful, with the amount of children and mortal’s lost, and the gods realise grimly that they need to change. and not just fickle promises - this is real. they need to.

Jason Grace headcanons

Loses his glass all the time (I think this is canon but I’m not sure lol).

He was raised by wolves so I’m willing to bet he sleeps curled into a tiny little ball like a puppy.

Please imagine the cuddle piles he and the rest of the seven get in. (If anyone can draw, I’m begging you)

Reyna gets him a shirt for his birthday that says Camp Jupiter on the front and Camp Half-Blood on the back. It’s absolutely hideous, purple on one side and orange on the other, but Jason loves it.

Nico pretends to be grumpy the entire time whenever he and Jason hang out, but he secretly really enjoys it. Jason knows this.

He and Percy regularly get together so Percy can introduce him to everything he missed out on while in Camp Jupiter/after losing his memories.

They tried skateboarding exactly once. The skateboard ended up embedded the wall and to this day still resides there. They never tried it again.

Can’t cook to save his life.

Seriously, he managed to burn pasta to the point it was some kind of monstrous grey goo.

Piper still teases him for it.

He and Hazel have the most adorable friendship. They both look up at each other but don’t actually know the other admires them.

This leads to hilarious conversations where they’re just complimenting each other. Like, that’s the whole conversation.

“You have to teach me how you did that trick.”

“Oh no, I’m not half as good with a sword as you are.”

“You’re twice as good!”

You get the idea.

He and Annabeth are both architecture nerds, so you can bet that they make little road trips together to visit their favourite structures.

During these road trips, they fondly discuss Piper and Percy’s stupidities.

(Meanwhile, Piper is trying to teach Percy ice skating. When Jason and Annabeth return, Percy has his arm in a cast)

Jason and Thalia make a point of getting together at least once a month to catch up.

Jason frequently tries to help her get over her fear of heights. Once, she actually allowed them to levitate them both in the air. Just a few feet, nothing more, but it was a start.

If you think Reyna and Jason are the smart friends, you’re absolutely right.

Except when you put them together without supervision.

They get into so much shit together. Percy and Piper, the other Chaotic Duo™️, are in awe.

All their friends swear to never let the four of them go anywhere without supervision.

He helps Leo out when the latter is working on something. He’s quite good with mechanic stuff.

They will talk about any- and everything when they do this.

It goes from “do you think pineapple belongs on a pizza” to “what’s the meaning of life”.

(The answer on the former is yes, according to Jason. Leo almost ends their friendship on the spot)

He has a huge soft spot for all animals, and animals seem to have a huge soft spot for him.

They flock to him. The unicorns at Camp Jupiter, the wolves of the Hunters, even Reyna’s automaton dogs.

Reyna, watching her own dogs betray her as they sprint towards Jason when the two of them get back from whatever they were doing: “It’s like he feeds and walks you.”

Anyway. Jason is happy and alive and very loved :)

The Eldest Curses

So we know of the eldest curses. We know they are the oldest child of a Prince of Hell. But what do they do? What powers do they hold? And how far do they have to fall?

In this post I'll go over some theories and all the information we know about them, confirmed eldest curses, and their respective parents.

I'm sorry if my hate for Asmodeus comes out, but as my friend @patalliumapples said, "You hate Asmodeus so much and it’s so funny to me. Like I hate him too but it seems like he personally murdered your family and it’s so funny."

What We Know

Eldest curses are the oldest children of any given Prince of Hell at a moment. So if a Prince of Hell has seven kids alive, the oldest one will be his eldest curse. However, this is unlikely, because they die easily. The magic is too much for them to handle.

There are two confirmed eldest curses living right now: Magnus Bane and Tessa Gray.

Magnus Bane

Age: Anywhere between 380-400 years old

Parent: Asmodeus

Powers: He's very powerful, but any specific powers based on his demon parent? Not really. Unless you count sexy as a power.

Contact with Demon Parent: Magnus has met Asmodeus several times. He summoned him when he was very young, and the regretted it. Then there was the Crimson Hand, his little demon-worshipping cult. Magnus ran into Asmodeus again in The Red Scrolls of Magic and City of Heavenly Fire, but hasn't been under his sway . . . Yet.

Tessa Gray

Age: 147-ish, born in 1862

Parent: Belial

Powers: Tessa, being half Shadowhunter, is special. She doesn't have many regular warlock powers, but she can shapeshift into anyone she likes. However, after absorbing the power of the angel Ithuriel, it's harder for her to change. It's also not a good idea for her to shapeshift when she's pregnant, as found out in Ghosts of the Shadow Market.

Contact with Demon Parent: She has not talked with Belial. Her children, James and Lucie, have had contact several times throughout the Last Hours, but she herself has not talked to Belial. Belial did consider possessing her, but between Ithuriel protecting her and his sexism, it's unlikely.

The Other Stuff

Eldest curses are supposed to be powerful. They're literally demon royalty, and Magnus and Tessa's uncle is Lucifer. Just think on that.

So I'm just gonna talk about some stuff Asmodeus brought up in The Red Scrolls of Magic. I was going to analyze some quotes but it just was taking me too long and I was getting too angry at Asmodeus. My solution is to just do a brief summary of what he said.

Eldest curses have some powers. We don't what, but I can gather they were made to rule. (On iron thrones as Asmodeus said, which is very specific)

And Asmodeus sure loves his. Why? Because he's a manipulative son of a bitch that's why. (The hate is strong right now.)

Asmodeus has had a lot of kids, because he's the demon of lust, but Magnus is very powerful. He's strong, and Asmodeus wants to mess with him to take control of him.

And now onto the theories!

Theories

And the crackpot clowning starts here.

@the-blackdale came up with the theory that some ✨ necromancy ✨ will be in order and Magnus dies at some point, but comes back to life in TBVOTD.

@murderbabies suggested that to summon Lucifer needs blood to be summoned. Blood of an eldest curse, most likely, because we know warlock blood has some powers. I really don't think it would rivers of blood, but enough to draw a small sigil. (As we know from Chain of Iron all the Princes have a sigil that might be used to summon them.)

@patalliumapples and I have the headcanon Raynor is actually Sammael's son, but it's unlikely to actually be canon. Still, a nice thought.

I think Aldous Nix, the warlock from The Bane Chronicles who making a Portal to Pandemonium, is an eldest curse. Maybe Belphegor. He is dead now, but before that, he was at least 1000 years old. That was before Sammael did his little Incursion thing, and that means there had to be a very powerful demon to get to the surface to be his father. So possibly an eldest curse.

Basically assume every warlock is an eldest curse unless confirmed otherwise.

So combining the two theories from @the-blackdale and @murderbabies is that maybe the death or at least one eldest curse would be needed to get Luci back into this world. They paint a sigil with that blood, and bring Lucifer in through it. Not sure when necromancy would be in order, but maybe Asmodeus would bring his son back to show him what they had done.

@revati3008 brought up that maybe Max is an eldest curse who was placed strategically so Magnus would adopt him. And who did this? Asmodeus. Because he wanted to manipulate his child.

Just imagine that. Asmodeus holding the knowledge of their child's parentage over Magnus and Alec's heads. Sounds like something he would do. This would also be even more causally cruel if Max is an eldest curse, because most of those die under the weight of their own power.

But that's super-likely because of a vision Magnus had in TLBOW and also based solely on vibes.

And then the good ol' key theory. @tenacioushubb is the mastermind of this one.

The core idea of this theory is that the eldest curses are analogous to keys. And these keys are needed to unchain Lucifer from a prison. This theory does require Luci to be chained up, but this could explain why demons are coming from Pandemonium in the first place. Lucifer being chained up (probably in Pandemonium) would be the source of all the demon energy. Him coming to our world would be the "wicked powers" aspect of that series.

Also, as @patalliumapples pointed out to me, maybe this how Asmodeus is going to use Magnus. Though this stems from something I noticed before, and ties into something I call the "Castle Theory" which is legit just based off some lyrics from Halsey's Castle.

I've said before this song has the same vibes as Clary going into Edom to rescue Jocelyn and the others. This will come up later.

Focusing on Magnus-he already was going to be made to be a king. In one of his dreams in TLBOW, Magnus dreamt of ruling a ruined world. Those chains on his arms from the thorn were there, too.

In The Red Scrolls of Magic while Asmodeus was info-dumping on us, he mentioned the eldest curses were "meant for thrones of iron." Which was so random. Why specify iron? We all know it's deadly to faeries, what does he want?

So I looked up what iron is supposed to do in the Shadowhunters Codex because I didn't know if there was anything else it did. Whelp, turns out a nickel-iron alloy called meteoric iron (normally found in meteors) is a good magic conductor, along with most iron being toxic to the fae.

And my mind was spinning. Rushing to check the Bane Chronicles, I looked at what the Hotel Dumort was built of. It actually was demonic metal, but I'd you had enough iron that can conduct magic,

So if Magnus sits on a throne of iron with enough demonic magic in him, it could unlock Lucifer down there.

Another theory that a few people have brought up is Magnus being possessed by a demon. I feel like it would be a demon Asmodeus sent to posses Magnus, not himself, but at least Asmodeus is smart. He has some sort of brain, unlike Belial, who just acts like he does, and then fails.

Last theory is something I'll do another post on because it needs a LOT of research to back it up.

This theory is that the eldest curses are similar to the Nephilim from the Bible.

These Nephilim were the children of fallen angels on earth. Same as the eldest curses. Though these Nephilim were giants, hundreds of feet tall.

But in one of Magnus's many visions, he dreamt he was tall. And this was after sitting on that throne, after ruling his own world.

Again, more research needed, but I think it could explain their power.

yeah but its the book we like? the plot twists? how it was written? not the author? it doesnt mean we like the books we like the author. we support the characters, the lore, not jk. its a bit inconsiderate to assume if we liked the story we like the author? and yeah sure it's not the only story with dark lords and magic but its the only one some people know. some people arent exposed to much books, so they just know about the harry potter pjo hardy boys nancy drew stuff like that.

Is that better? Is the caps lock getting my point across? I do not want to sound mean, but I honestly don't know how better to explain this.

This is not just a teeny thing that can be ignored. JKR is a real person who has caused real problems in the real world for other human beings, and she has openly admitted to seeing any and all positive interaction with her work as support. She sees it as incentive to keep doing what she's doing. She thinks her fans secretly agree with her. And I say her fans, not Harry Potter fans, because you cannot say ''death of the author'' when she is alive and hurting people.

I do not give a shit what people will do with HP when she'd dead or unable to hurt anyone anymore. But right now, JKR and the harm she causes are both intrinsically connected to the Harry Potter books.

Not to mention that the books are bigoted too. The goblins, the treatment of Fleur, the casual date rape drugs, the tokenized & flat characters of colour, the homophobia with the werewolves being a metaphor for AIDS... the list goes on. These are in the books. I am all for reading and examining problematic media, but that is not the same thing as treating it like fandom, especially not when the author is alive and hurting people.

If you're truly a mutual of mine, you know my views. Vulnerable people are more important than a book series.

I can ask whoever I want not to interact, especially when it's something I've explained over and over. Especially when it's something that has affected my life. I'm not going to go into how JKR's brand of transphobia mirrors my mother's, because the whole of tumblr does not have the right to have those details, but trust me when I say this shit matters.

Supporting Harry Potter means giving JKR more relevance and voice in this day and age. If you are willing to do that, we will not get along.

Finally:

"Some people don't know about many books other than Harry Potter" is a strawman argument. I am not criticizing 11yos with a Hedwig plush who had a Harry Potter birthday party and play on pottermore. I am criticizing the only people who will actually be able to see my blog: people who also have access to the bad things JKR has done, both in and outside of Harry Potter.

I am tired of seeing Harry Potter everywhere. Every single HP fan in my real actual life is an open transphobe. I want to be able to have my nice little book blog where I talk about books that make me happy, and I do not want to have to talk about Harry Potter. I do not want to have to see things relating to Harry Potter. I do not want to interact with people who think Harry Potter is harmless.

Can you not let me have that?

headcanon dump; clary fray

okay, i headcanon’d that clary read the pjo series, and that rachel is the character she loves the most because she also identifies / see’s a lot of herself within rachel in a lot of ways. but, this is also just in, she also likes nico, especially after she reads the ‘outting’ scene, and how she rereads that after she herself was put in a similar situation. she rereads it and cries her eyes out once again.

clary is the type to crush easy

once again it’s their ANGEL BLOOD connection that draws clary out of her dark trances NOT LOVE

clary is totally a musical nerd. she loves them. she is the gay artist into theatre but didn’t want to go into theatre

the order in which i feel clary would come out & to who:

simon & jace (&seelie court) out of force, everyone assumes she kissed jace and simon and jace keep clary’s secret until she is ready because they saw how hard it was for in the court, because she wasn;t ready

her mother ( if she is alive au’s ) / luke

alec, magnus & izzy around the same time

maia a little later

everyone else, when needed

clary’s life force being tied to johnathan’s didn’t fully sink into her until she tried to kill him. normally, she wouldn’t mind herself dying in the process - she just was in shock that, she was truly the reason johnathan was breathing again, and that he will continue to do so so long as she does.

because who wouldn’t be in shock from when you go and stab someone else, you get the exact injury?

clary? totally a fan of the pjo books. she loved rachel dare, she saw a lot of herself in the mortal girl thrown into a world unknown. even more when she finds herself thrown into a world unknown.

For all of Clary’s life, she has believed herself to be mundane. That things like werewolves, vampires and angels were all myths. The only thing she struggled with was finding herself in the sense of who she liked in a way of dating. She thought she had to date men, as that was what was always shown on TV & in books. Basically it was all around. So, she tried to date guys, nothing ever really clicking. Then things with happened when she turned eighteen. Her identity as a mundane ripped from her, and she saw a shot at a heterosexual relationship with Jace. But that got shattered, and she started to wonder. She adjusted to being a shadowhunter easy enough, and she was still figuring out her sexual identity. The Seelie court is when she was forced to be open about it. She was force to look hard at it. Forced to tell her boyfriend and best friend in front of the Seelie Court that she doesn’t like guys that way. That was her truth deep inside. A part of herself was revealed in a way that it shouldn’t have been.

clary was practically paralysed by the fall, and if simon hadn’t gotten there in time - an iratze or warlock magic wouldn’t have fixed it. it would have been permanent. but this isn’t to say she doesn’t still suffer from pains. the iratze could only heal so much, and she suffers from pains in her back from time to time. it will flare up and she won’t tell anyone because an iratze couldn’t heal the pain. an iratze an only do so much - and will only fix new problems. there will be days where she can’t move at all, or her fighting is way off due to the pain in her back and neck.

as stated in my psa about the shadowhunter divergent i have, i do accept season one’s cl@ce as being there, as well as cl!mon. but i headcanon her as lesbian. yes this is true. i headcanon her as having experienced compulsive heterosexuality, trying to convince herself that she can be attracted to men. but ultimately, when faced with the seelie queen - she is forced to accept this truth, that she does not like males like that.

she didn’t want to do it then and there, because at the time she was still dating simon. she didn’t want to publicly humiliate her best friend - but she had too. she didn’t like that she had to come out that way, because no one should be forced out. but once she is comfortable with her sexuality, she lets people know. luke, izzy & alec being the first few after the court. then maia when she admits a crush on the girl.

clary, remembering every bully who ever bullied simon? you bet! her coming across them once she’s become a shadowhunter and giving them a beating ( verbal or physical )

because i have found it missing;  clary has her septum pierced, and got it at sixteen - simon, so far is the only one who knows as she tends to keep it up

as an artist (or wannabe artist), clary having her phone sitting away from her and not in her pocket while standing is WRONG, she would have it in her pocket and if she was sitting down, that is when her phone would be at her side. the only reason i see her having her phone on the table, way from her; is if she had bluetooth headphones

fun fact: everyone thinks that clary games because of simon, but truly if anyone got the other onto gaming , it was the other way around. she loved the games because she loved the art form, and wanted to play.

if you don’t think that simon was the first person clary told about her sexuality, you’re wrong. he is her best friend, and the person she trust the most (which is why he’s the only one to know about her septum piercing). and it wasn’t a few more months after telling simon that she told her mother and luke.

another canon divergence: clary does not even suggest the angel idea, instead actually assist jace, because she knows it was hard for him to even think he needed help, let alone ask/seek out help

she is the kind of person, who when feeling attacked will attack back. wither this is verbal or physical (example the first scene in 1x05 with Alec, he was tearing her down, so she fought back)

clary is as big pop culture nerd, she loves it all, she just doesn’t show it like simon does.

clary doesn’t drink (alcohol) anymore, she did when she was younger and with simon when they raided his mother’s supply (and some of her mothers). but, after seeing the damage that elaine’s had done to simon and rebecca, she swore to herself to never get like that. so, she also swore to never drink again, so she could never end up like that.

clary has a scar on her right arm, from when she fell out of a tree. she was trying to climb the highest. jocelyn didn’t realise her daughter was doing this, until she fell out of the tree

clary didn’t bring back jace because she loved him romantically, but because she cared for him and because alec cared for him, because izzy cared for him, because the people she got close to in the shadowworld care about him. and because she felt that if jace were to die in the field, it shouldn’t be by the hands of their father (bc remember jace calls valentine his father)

Define “AU”.  I tend to stick close to canon, but I’ve poked my toe in a few other playgrounds occasionally.  The main ones I’ve played around with (and written the odd scene for), are listed here.

(And yes, I will take questions on any of them if you’re interested.  I have spent far too much time plotting these out for them to just keep rotting away in my head and never see the world)

Son of Poseidon!Gordon.  Yes, it’s a PJO crossover thing, where Chiron is miffed there’s a big three demigod somewhere and he can’t find him to train him up.  There’s a whole thing where Apollo had a vision about IR and the Olympians decided that IR needed someone for the water because the whole family are flyboys and Earth is 2/3rds water so some agreement happened where Poseidon was permitted to go meet with Lucille... and yeah.  So the other four bros are “Normals” (actually eighth(?) demigod because Grandma’s a daughter of Apollo but demigod genetics doesn’t work like that) still, but Gordon’s a demigod.  They live on Tracy Island because that means the gods can put anti-monster barriers up and keep Gordon hidden and safe and yeah, lots of worldbuilding and stuff.

Meanwhile, Gordon’s idea of dunking his brothers isn’t throwing them in the pool, but rather throwing the pool on them.  (He did that once.  After Grandma made him mop it all up by hand - no demigod powers allowed - he decided the whole pool was overkill and just splashes them now).  He also likes to dive into the pool from the lounge balcony (did it from the bedroom balcony once.  Scott tore into him “I don’t care what magic powers you have I am drawing the line at that one”).  He’s the only one allowed to do it, although he tends to do it if he’s alone or with Grandma, and spares Scott the heart attack - and so he doesn’t give Alan ideas.

His brothers also know that if they’re off the island and he tells them to move they don’t hesitate.  He can see through the Mist.  They... might get a small glimpse if they’re lucky.  They can see enough to be a target, but not enough to see the monsters coming most of the time.  Gordon swears it’s a full time job just protecting them sometimes, let alone the rescues themselves!

APTX!Scott.  Another crossover - this time with Detective Conan.  Scott goes on a solo rescue in Japan, but sees something he shouldn’t and the Black Organisation decide to eliminate him and steal his Thunderbird.  Thunderbird One gets stolen, but instead of putting a bullet in his head - that would invite questions - they use the fatal but undetectable poison, APTX-4869.  However, Scott becomes the third (fourth, I guess, but I’m ignoring Sera’s mother) to survive it, instead shrinking back into his seven year old body.

He gets found by Conan, who quickly realises who he is (as in, that he’s IR.  This AU follows TOS’s ‘no-one knows who IR are’ although it’s otherwise TAG-verse still) and fills him in on what’s going on and why letting anyone know he’s still alive would be a Very Bad Thing.  Cue Scott going underground, living with Haibara and the Professor and attending elementary school with the Detective Boys.

But his family aren’t going to let Scott just disappear like that, and eventually John and Gordon hunt him down (cue panic on all fronts as various truths come out.  Haibara is particularly furious he chose to make his ‘fake name’ “Scott Carpenter” when she realises it isn’t actually a fake name at all).  IR then joins the alphabet soup that are Conan’s connections!

2004 Movie Rewrite.  Good old butterfly effect!  I enjoy the movie, but it has some major holes (and a major lack of any Tracy bro whose name doesn’t begin with A) so I tried to patch one of those holes.  Just one, honest!  Just the teeny tiny change that instead of going to Jeff, who he knows is gonna yell at him, Alan goes to Scott instead about the weird goop on TB1.

Scott... does not take a tracker on his ‘bird very well.  There is panic, there are rash decisions, there are less rash but still snap decisions because Scott’s the field commander for a reason, there is a very angry father when instead of Alan appearing for a scolding for playing with TB1, Alan vanishes and then TB1 launches without clearance anyway.  Oh, and TB5′s just been attacked and TB3′s been sabotaged so he can’t get to John (and Gordon and Virgil seem to be hiding something).

And then there’s this Hood guy in his home attacking his family and trying to steal the Thunderbirds - which fails because TB2 and TB4 have apparently also been sabotaged what happened to all the Thunderbirds - and yeah, Jeff is not having a good day.

Meanwhile, Alan gets to fly TB1 for real and he’d be much happier about that if Scott wasn’t unconscious in the co-pilot seat.

dark!John.  There’s only so far you can push someone before they break, and John’s watched the world hurt his brothers one time too many.  With one brother’s life and future ruined after a brutal attack, it’s the last straw.  If the world can’t be nice to his brothers, the world doesn’t deserve nice things.

IR watches an unknown entity taking over important places - the GDF, the World Government, dangerous places that don’t bode well and have the world cowering in terror - and decide to do something about it.  It’s like the Hood all over again, except the Hood was never this successful.  This person, whoever they are, is dangerous and has to be stopped, whatever it takes.

They never imagined it was their own brother.
