Little Brother
-> Touya Todoroki (Dabi) x Reader (they/them pronouns used)
characters: Touya Todoroki (Dabi), Shoto Todoroki
genre: fluff
summary: touya introduces you to his family and the youngest todoroki grows attached to you
warnings: established relationship (between dabi and the reader), mentions of past trauma, this is set on a alternative setting where quirks aren't a thing and the todorokis are trying to be a better family
I do have more ideas for different parts so let me know if you're interested in this becoming a series of dabi fluff feat his family (in particular shoto)
Tumblr media
When you first started dating Touya, meeting his family was the scariest thing you could think of. Touya was honest when he told you he and his family had a rough start but were trying to get on good terms again. He always seemed happy when he was talking about his siblings, telling you silly stories about their childhood or how the weekly phone call with them went.
After a few months of dating, Touya decided to ask you to visit his family for the weekend. You could have lied and said you had exams or even been honest and tell him you weren't sure but the way Touya’s eyes sparkled in hope made you unable to deny his request. His mom seemed sweet and from what Touya told you, she already loved you; his dad you weren't so sure but your boyfriend assured you that he wouldn't be mean or anything; you were almost sure you would get along with Fuyumi; Natsuo was too much like Touya so if you managed to get along with your boyfriend, you are sure you will be able to get along with Natsuo; Shoto, however, was the person who scared you the most. He was only twelve and you know how hard teenage boys can be to deal with. Touya guaranteed that Shoto would like you, that he doesn't even talk much but that made you more nervous. How were you supposed to bond with a twelve year old boy that doesn't speak? More than anything, you wanted Touya’s family’s approval and that meant every single one of them.
The days prior to the big meeting, you kept annoying Touya with multiple questions about Shoto, trying to get an idea of what you could say to start a conversation. Your boyfriend wasn't very useful on the matter, simply brushing you off with “you’ll be ok, stop worrying your pretty head.” You hated him (but not really). So you ignore the urge to choke Touya to death and mentally prepare yourself. If everything goes wrong, you will have to lock yourself in his room until it's time to leave.
Your university isn't that far away from Touya’s house so, as he drives, you start to think that maybe you should have stayed home. It might be too soon to meet his family, you haven't been dating for long. Touya’s hand squeezes your thigh as a sign of reassurance. You try to focus on the music for the rest of the ride. Your heart starts beating faster when Touya parks in front of a house. You leave the car without thinking, set on getting this over with as fast as possible. Your boyfriend goes to the trunk to get both of your small bags for the weekend and starts walking in front of you. He knocks on the door and your breath gets caught in your throat. A boy that looks too much like Touya without his piercings opens the door and instantly hugs your boyfriend. Touya ruffles his hair and steps to the side. “This is my partner.” he introduces, then says your name. Natsuo bows slightly and tells you to get in, expressing how happy he is to meet you. There's a faint smell of food coming from the kitchen and two women that look so much alike come out to say hi. You bow at them but Rei has a warm smile as she hugs you, communicating how much Touya has talked about you, making your tough looking boyfriend blush slightly as he tries to hide his face on his sister’s hair. Fuyumi hugs you next, asking you to drop the formalities as they already consider you family.
“You're trying to steal my partner already and we just arrived.” Touya says in a playful tone.
Rei pats his cheek before pulling him for a hug, squeezing him a bit and saying she missed him. You hear the sweetness in Touya’s voice as he murmurs “I missed you too.”
Fuyumi lets everyone know that dinner is almost ready and that their father will be home soon. From what she said, Shoto was in his room doing homework but she thinks it's an excuse to hide for a little longer since he seemed nervous to meet his big brother’s partner. Your heart warms a bit to the thought that you weren't the only one nervous about this meetup.
You follow Touya to his room to place your bag and take a moment to look around.
“Your room is so… empty.”
“Never really decorated it. Plus, most of my stuff I took with me to the dorm.” you hum in acknowledgment. “I told you they would like you.”
“I still haven't met your dad or your younger brother.”
“I don't give a fuck about what my dad thinks and Shoto will like you.” Touya hugs your waist from behind, resting his chin on your shoulder. “It’s hard to believe but he's a lot like me. And you managed to make me fall in love with you so I think it will be fine.” you sigh, turning on his embrace to hug him back. “I love you, don't worry too much.”
You whisper that you love him back and hug him a bit tighter. Touya always managed to feel like home and you felt comfortable in his arms.
A soft knock on the door catches your attention and Touya lets you go to open it. A boy with two colored hair stares at the both of you. “Mom said dinner’s ready.”. Touya looks back at you and you bow slightly to the boy, introducing yourself. Shoto simply turns around and leaves the room. Touya is quick to follow him and hooking his arm around Shoto’s neck, ruffling his hair violently while arguing with him to have manners. While you were a bit sad about the way the youngest Todoroki reacted, you didn't blame him and you laughed at your twenty years old boyfriend acting like a baby as they both got scolded by Rei.
Todoroki Enji was already in the living room. He was definitely the scariest person in the room right now. Tall and broad with a dark aura. He was hard to ignore, towering over anyone and everyone. You got goosebumps with the way he glared at you and you were quick to bow respectfully as you introduced yourself yet again. Touya doesn't say much more than a simple “Hey dad.” before Fuyumi is urging everyone to sit down at the table. His dad definitely had an undertone that made the room feel more tense, quieter, the complete opposite of Rei’s calmer, sweeter spirit.
You were already expecting some questions but you didn't think Touya’s dad would be the one to ask you most of them, giving small hums every time you replied. You didn't know if he was judging you or not, the man kept a straight face all the time and his eyes were impossible to read. His voice was audibly softer when he talked to Touya and you wondered if that was his way of trying to be better to his son. Fuyumi is the one telling you a bit more about the family, talking about how she wants to be a teacher and Natsuo is about to start high school. Then she proudly spoke about how smart Shoto is in school, always getting good grades. Apparently, Shoto was the smartest among the siblings, Fuyumi said, which made Touya hold back his pout as he argued that he was doing pretty well in university. “I bet Shoto couldn't get better grades than me!” “He’s only twelve Touya!”.
The dynamic of the family seemed a lot better than how it was during Touya’s childhood but you notice that Shoto doesn't take his eyes away from the food as the conversation keeps going.
“What's your favorite subject?” you ask him, quietly so the attention doesn't go back to him.
“I don't know.” Shoto simply says before asking to leave the table, then getting up to put his dishes inside the washing machine.
Your brows furrow as you watch the boy leave the room. You decide not to bother the young boy for the rest of the night, focusing on helping Rei clean everything before settling down on the couch next to your boyfriend. Touya’s dad announced that he was going to his room and his mom followed soon after, telling her younger kids that they need to go to their beds soon, getting protests from Natsuo. The four of you decide on a movie and you cuddle your boyfriend’s warm body, drifting between being awake and asleep merely twenty minutes into the movie. Fuyumi is the next one to leave the living room, admitting that she's already tired. She ends up dragging Natsuo since he was almost asleep on the couch, leaving you and Dabi alone in the living room.
Dabi plays with your hair as he murmurs in a soft voice “Are you feeling better? Calmer?”. You nod, cuddling closer to him as you take a deep breath, feeling his scent bring you comfort. “I’m sorry Shoto was a bit rude.”
“It's alright. I understand.” you murmur sleepily. “I’m not mad at him or anything, it's not my place. I believe we’ll have more opportunities to talk.”
“Yeah, I’m not letting you go so you'll definitely have more opportunities to talk to him.” he chuckles, pulling you closer. Let's go to bed, baby.” You let yourself get dragged to the room by your boyfriend. Like he usually does, Dabi helps you take off your clothes and change before softly wiping off your makeup while your eyes fight to stay open. He will then change his own clothes quickly to snuggle you in bed. Dabi always makes himself appear scary and people usually say he's intimidating but you have to disagree because, as Dabi hugs your waist and hides his face on your chest, he always looks like a cuddle away from actually purring. Dabi argues that he will have nightmares if he's not being held by you so you spend most nights with him clinging onto you while you play with his hair until he falls asleep. It's only fair that he asks for that now that he's back in his childhood home.
When you wake up on the next day, Saturday, your boyfriend is shaking you awake because his brother already came calling him for breakfast. Breakfast is a lot quieter than last night's dinner. You help Rei clean everything, not missing Shoto asking Touya if he wanted to play a video game with him. Fuyumi is sitting on the floor, books scattered all over the coffee table and Natsuo is almost falling asleep on the couch. Shoto and Touya are sitting side by side, each holding a controller while they choose a character in Mario Kart. Rei announces that she's going to the supermarket, kissing all of her children’s forehead before leaving. Touya pats the place next to him when he sees you and you quickly sit down, striking a conversation with Fuyumi about what she is studying.
“You're shit at this game.” the youngest Todoroki murmurs. Touya gasps dramatically, a hand going on his chest as he looks at his brother. “Shoto! Language!” his brother simply rolls his eyes, snatching the controller away from him.
“Do you want to play with me?” It takes you a few seconds to realize Shoto is talking to you, his arm stretched in your direction. You can't control your smile as you reach for the controller, ignoring the smirk Touya sends your away. Shoto doesn't talk much unless he's replying to a jab his brother sends him. “You're a lot better than Tou.” Touya, like the drama queen he is, immediately jumps to try to tickle his brother, putting his head on a headlock. You're left to pull your boyfriend back, warning him about how Shoto is getting redder by the second because of the uncontrollable laughter. Shoto cleans the tears in his eyes while you're holding your boyfriend in your arms to stop him from jumping back to tickling his brother. With his back turned to you, you make a signal with your head, hoping Shoto understands the message. He's still laughing when he starts tickling Touya and you do your best to keep him in place as he starts screaming apologies.
You smile as you watch the two brothers catching their breaths side to side and you understand why Touya said his younger brother was a lot like him. As they sit next to each other, you can see the similarities in their expressions. Touya scares you by dropping his head on your shoulder, still breathing heavily. “Are you sure you're 20?” you ask, not able to stop your giggles. “Keep laughing and you're next.”
“I won't let you.” Shoto’s voice surprises you. “They're cooler than you so I can't let you attack them.”
After that day, Shoto visibly grew closer to you. It was barely noticeable but he didn't seem as uncomfortable with your presence. You would hear him ask Touya when were you going back during their weekly calls, begging your boyfriend to visit them the next weekend and bring you along. Touya would argue and whine that his little brother was trying to steal you from him but you would just shut him down by flicking his forehead. You certainly started seeing Shoto as a little brother too and couldn't be happier that he liked your company. Even if it made his older brother act like a baby every time you spent time together. You don't even remember a time when you were nervous to meet Touya's family.

Accepted! Rody Soul
Character name: Rody Soul
Why do you want to play them?: I latched onto this boy as soon as I saw the movie. He’s such a fun and comfortable character to play, and I can relate to some aspects of his character. There’s a lot left open to explore with him. He’s always busy between working, taking care of his siblings, and trying to achieve his dream now that Deku has opened his eyes and inspired him. He’s a hard worker without a doubt, and if he attends UA here in something like the support course, I think it’s nice that he’ll finally be able to experience things that normal kids his age do. He can take it a bit easier for once. I have so many feelings on Rody and his family, I can’t even explain. They just deserve the best.
What is their quirk?: Soul- Pino, a small pink bird, is the manifestation of Soul. Pino is connected to the user's soul and her actions articulate their true thoughts and feelings This quirk is always active.
What powers and limitations do they have:
Parkour- Very skilled in parkour techniques and resourceful with his surroundings. In addition, a very fast runner.
Pino- She is more than just his feelings. She can help her out in a pinch. Be used as a distraction, to grab something, to be on look-out, etc. Downside is when she acts on his feelings at an unfavorable time.
Fibbing- Uses his charm to lie his way through situations fairly easily. Takes one to know one. Since he’s grown up lying on the job so often, he can usually tell when someone else is lying.
Aviation skills- Knows the basics on how to fly a plane and is still learning. Alsoknowshowtodriveacar.
His siblings- Loves them with all his heart and soul. He always puts them first; would do anything for them. They’re his weakness, not that it’s a bad thing. They just hold him back from opportunities sometimes, even though he never sees it like that.
Describe the character’s personality: Teasing and charismatic. Carefree but responsible. Rody is very playful and optimistic with his siblings. He’s very observative of others, always some sort of caution there because of how he grew up. Trusting others is still new to him, but he’s slowly but surely opening up more as time goes on.
Preferred relationships (friendships, rivalries, ships, etc):
Izuku Midoriya- This is the big one for obvious reasons. quite literally his partner in crime and the first real friend he’s had in a long while. Managed to change his outlook on heroes and how he should move forward with his life. Owes a lot to him, very grateful even if he’ll rarely express it himself.
Shoto Todoroki- they sure did meet- had more of an interaction with the guy during the mission and is intrigued by how seemingly calm he is most of the time. Wouldn’t mind getting to know more.
Katsuki Bakugou- they sure did meet part 2 let’s just say, Rody wouldn’t be afraid to poke fun and tease the blonde, I imagine. His reactions are entertaining but Rody knows when he’s actually in danger and will run if he has to. Not really a rivalry but, it’s a fun kind of relationship. For Rody at least.
Ochako Uraraka- broke brunette buddies broke brunette buddies- I also find it extremely interesting that Uraraka’s original goal for being a hero was to make money. For her parents. Rody talked spitefully about heroes who only cared about money, but he could also relate with wanting to take care of family.
Hawks- Birds. That is all. And flying.
These are the main characters that come to mind, but I feel there are plenty others that Rody would get along with. Like Tokoyami if the server acquires one. More bird bonding there; two entities separate from the user that could interact with each other, even if Pino can’t speak like Dark Shadow.
As far as shipping goes, there’s the obvious one to state, but I’m honestly down for whoever has chemistry together.
Please list your goal(s) for the character (This can be a long term plan for the character’s progression, or an aspect of the character you’d like to explore!):
-Acquire Pilot’s license
-Gosh he needs friends
-Become a pilot
-Saving up for Roro and Lala’s futures (college funds, etc.)
-Gosh he also needs a parental figure
-Figuring out more about Pino and the ins and outs of how she works
That’s all I got right now.
For your character:
What do you think about UA University’s Villain Rehabilitation Program:
“I mean, good for them?” He personally didn’t know too much about the program, but could put in his two cents. “I guess if I ever got caught for doing some shady job, I’d want a second chance, too. Even if that sort of thing doesn’t compare to some of the stuff actual villains do. I say if they’re willing to put the effort in and actually want to do and be better, might as well let them prove themselves. I think they would be a lot happier with themselves in the end.”
Pick two of the following prompts and write out how you would behave in that scenario. Minimum 100 words each:
“You overhear someone talking bad about you from across the room, how do you react?”
“Humarise.”
The word continued to hold its dreadful taste even after all these years. Every time Rody heard the name his senses would kick up a notch, feeling suddenly on edge.
“Is that the kid whose father works for Humarise?”
Worked. Rody corrected in his head. Well, forced, Rody has come to learn. Still, the past tense mattered.
He was currently clearing up a table on the other side of the bar, hearing two of the, definitely tipsy at the least, customers on the other end. Looked like Rody was their topic of interest. Which was nothing new. Rody was used to all the judgment his family got. It was just how his life went. But now that he knew the truth, that his dad was never really a bad guy and actually created the very key to save the world, hearing the judgment hurt. It was hard to ignore. It was hard not to defend his dad.
“Of course he works in a place like this. Lots of shady situations for him to get himself into.”
His ponytail rustled with agitation. I’m trying to make money, assholes.
But he had to ignore it. Especially at his job. How was he supposed to defend himself? Getting into an argument with a customer was not the greatest idea. He needed this job. Rody couldn’t risk being fired.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he followed in the guy’s footsteps.”
It was fine.
“Yeah, the whole family is probably all the same. Bunch of whackjobs.”
A blur of pink came rushing out of his hair, the little bird prepared to give these two a piece of her mind. But Rody had known what he was feeling, and was ready to grab a hold of her as soon as she flew out. “No, Pino.” He carefully stuffed her into his apron pocket. His siblings were completely innocent. He was innocent. He was just a kid. The brunette grabbed his bus tub with frustration, glasses clinking within it. He passed by the customers on the way back to the kitchen, keeping his gaze forward.
He couldn’t wait for his shift to be over and go home.
“You have a moments peace outside of class and hero work, what are you doing in your free time?”
“When in the vicinity of a VOR which is being used for navigation on VFR flights, it is important to…” Rody read his personal textbook out loud while laying on the roof of the dorms, Pino flying around the building in wide circles. It was okay for him to be on the roof of this place, right? They had student heroes running all over the place, why couldn’t a wannabe pilot relax out in the open?
It was a much better atmosphere to study in compared to slouching over a desk. In his opinion, there was no better place to study aviation than outside where the very thing he was studying to fly would pass by in the bright blue sky. Well, a better place would be at an airport, but that’s beside the point.
Not like UA had their own runway and aircrafts.

Insights Fandom: My Hero Academia Pairing: TodoMomo; established Huwumi and Natsuo x Mouse GIrlfriend Summary: TodoMomo Positivity Week Day 2 Prompt Fill: Roses. Shoto kinda seeks out romantic advice from Natsuo and Hawks and then everything gets complicated. Standard Disclaimer: If you read and enjoy this, please give it a like/ reblog so I know if I should write more.
Despite his concerns in the beginning, Todoroki Shoto had learned that relationships were a relatively easy thing to navigate. Well, given that there was respect and trust and communication, anyway. Which, he was proud to say he had with his girlfriend, Yaoyorozu Momo. The two of them were hitting the start of their third year at UA as well as their first year together as a couple. Shoto hadn’t thought much about it until he’d gone to a small training event with some of his other classmates.
“So,” Kaminari had drawled, a sly grin on his lips, “I gotta know. What’s on the agenda for you and Yaomomo’s anniversary? Because if you need some suggestions, I’ve got your back!”
He had blinked and tilted his head at him. “Ha?”
Sero snorted as he walked over as well. “Todoroki, it’s okay! You don’t gotta play coy with us! High roller like you must be planning to bust out the big guns for your first anniversary with your girlfriend!”
He merely continued to stare at them, unsure what they meant. “You shitty extras are giving IcyHot way too much credit. Dumbass probably doesn't have shit all figured out,” Bakugo scoffed.
“... Should I be making a big fuss over it being a year since we officially started dating?” Shoto had asked, genuinely befuddled. Which seemed to distress Sero and Kaminari, who had just as genuinely thought he was just teasing. The epiphany that he wasn’t just messing with them had led down a rather slippery slope of explaining the significance of anniversaries and such when in a romantic relationship. Specifically, how the one year mark was a huge landmark and warranted going above and beyond for your partner. And it wasn’t as if Shoto was completely ignorant to these things - both his older siblings were in successful relationships, after all - but… Well, the way they made it sound, their schedule should be much grander than it was. Outside of them agreeing to spend that day together, they hadn’t discussed much more nor had Momo implied she expected more than that.
But, then again, it seemed like an unspoken rule of courtship. So maybe she had simply assumed he already knew what to do?
Which was how he ended up awkwardly wandering into the living room of the estate, where Natsuo and Keigo were settled in front of the television and having a playful debate. “Nii-Chan,” he said when there was a lapse in the conversation.
The two older men both looked up at him. “Which one?” Keigo teased.
Natsuo rolled his eyes. “You aren’t his brother yet, birdbrain,”
“Ah, yes, because three months of time will make such a huge difference,”
“I meant Natsuo,” he clarified. Keigo’s feathers ruffled a bit at the remark while Natsuo flashed the Pro a smug grin. He then turned his attention back to Shoto and nodded his head, indicating he continue with what he had to say. “I need your advice on something… personal.”
He blinked before his brow knit in concern. “Hmm? Did you strain something during one of your workouts again? I keep telling you, Shoto; it’s fine if you wanna push your limits a little, but you can’t go breaking yourself like your buddy Midoriya,”
He shook his head. “No, it’s not about that. It’s about my upcoming anniversary with Momo,” Both men looked absolutely stunned by this, eyes wide and gawking. Shoto shifted his weight uncomfortably to keep himself from backing down, feeling incredibly judged. “I need help figuring out what to do for it.”
“Ah, Shoto, Shoto! You’ve come to the right man for help with this!” Keigo suddenly sang, a few of his feathers flying over and starting to push him towards the blonde. Once he was close enough, he was pulled down beside him, one of his arms draping over the younger’s shoulders as he leaned into him. “Let the King of Romance help you out! With my knowledge on your side, you’ll woo Yaomomo right off her feet!”
”Uh, excuse you,” Natsuo snapped, slamming one hand on the table to get their attention, “but he was coming to me for help. You know. Me. His big brother.”
Keigo’s arm slipped off Shoto’s shoulders so he could clap his hands together as if he was praying. He then gently tapped his lips with his hands, humming as he did. “Yeah, but… How to put this gently… You are bad at romance,” he said after a few pregnant pauses, enunciating the words of the final sentence with small chops of his hands.
“Wha-! What the Hell?”
“Look, I’m not saying I’ve heard some things but I’ve heard some things. Pro tip: Being together for three years doesn’t mean you don’t still have to try,” Keigo said, smirking as he held his hands up in a placating manner and glancing at Shoto.
Shoto blinked slowly before turning his attention to his flustered older brother again, curious what his response to that would be.
“I’d rather have room for improvement than being a brain dead peacock like you!” he snapped, pointing an accusatory finger at him. He then turned to Shoto again, pointing at Hawks again aggressively. “Shoto, did you know that our sister got accosted by a Villain when this idiot tried to propose?”
“I was off duty and out of my jurisdiction! It’s not my fault the Pro that runs that area had shit scheduling! And I got her away from the creep!” Keigo snapped back, slamming one of his hands down on the table as well and leaning closer to the other Todoroki.
“That creep was naked!” he laughed, crossing his arms over his chest and quirking an eyebrow expectantly.
Shoto’s head snapped between the two of them in complete bewilderment. He didn’t recall that being part of Fuyumi’s retelling of how Keigo had proposed. “... I… What?”
“It had to do with his Quirk,” Keigo waved a hand dismissively, as if that answered ever question Shoto could have to go along with that, but his gaze never wavered from Natsuo. One of his bushy eyebrows twitched in a way that seemed a bit menacing, as if he was about to deal a huge blow to the other. “Look, you don’t get to criticize me on shit when you’re too much of a coward to take the plunge!”
“What did you say, you mushy chicken nugget?”
“You heard me, protein powder!”
At this point, Shoto quietly crept away from the pair and made a beeline for the kitchen. After that, he had earned a glass of water or juice or something. Fuyumi was settled at the counter, preparing tea water with the electric kettle, while chatting amicably with Nezumi, Natsuo’s girlfriend. Nezumi herself was settled at the table, rounded mouse ears up to show she was comfortable and content. His sister perked up and smiled at him. “Hmm? Oh, hey, Shoto,” she mused. She seemed to read his body language well as her smile faltered. “What’s wrong? You seem upset.” She motioned him over towards the table while plucking out another tea mug for him.
“You two are dating a pair of useless idiots,” he groaned as he slumped at the table, letting his head thunk against the surface. After a moment he sighed and brought his arms up to rest his head on them instead. “Or maybe I’m the useless idiot.”
“Hey, you shouldn’t talk about yourself like that, Shoto!” Fuyumi admonished as she started pouring the water into the mugs.
Nezumi’s ears tipped down a bit as she meekly leaned over to give his head a comforting pat. “Would talking about it help, Shoto-Kun?”
He sighed again and closed his eyes. “Well, it’s just… Momo and I are going to be having our one year anniversary next Sunday and I worry that I don’t have anything spectacular figured out,” he confessed. He opened his eyes as Fuyumi carefully set a mug in front of him, watching the steam billow over the top. He pushed himself to sit upright and take the mug, letting the warmth bleed into his hands through the ceramic.“I want to make this something good for her. She’s important to me and… I just… I want to make sure she knows that. I want to make sure to show her that the right way.”
“Shoto, there is no right or wrong way to celebrate your anniversary. Every couple is different and what works for one may not work for another,” Fuyumi said, ever patient as she reached out and gently stroked his back. He could feel some of the tension slip from his body at her presence and reassurance. A glance at her revealed a small smile on her lips. “I mean, what Keigo and I do is radically different from Natsuo and Nezumi-Chan. And what you and Momo-Chan want to do to celebrate is most likely different from both of us, too.”
Nezumi nodded, lifting her mug to blow a bit at it. “Has Yaoyorozu-Chan made any mention of what she’d like to do with you on the anniversary?” she prompted before taking a small sip.
“She told me she just wants us to spend the day together,” he said. He took a sip of his own tea as his mind churned back to the conversation for the umptenth time, looking for any and all small details he could have missed. “We talked about maybe going to a park to walk around or something. But we do things like that for dates all the time. I want to make it special, somehow… Something more than just another date.”
Fuyumi tapped her chin before her eyes lit up and she grinned at him. “You could prepare a picnic for that day!”
Shoto stared at her for a long, quiet moment. “... Do you remember what happened last time I tried cooking?”
“We could help you,” Nezumi chimed in. Then, seeming to immediately worry she’d stepped out line, she slumped back. Her ears were tipped further down and she avoided eye contact. “O-Only if that’s okay, of course!”
He offered her a small smile, gently patting her shoulder so she would look at him. “I would appreciate it. Thank you, Nezumi-San,” She blinked then smiled and nodded. Her ears tipped back up completely and her stance became a bit more casual again. He blinked then frowned again as another thought occurred. “Ah, but what about a present?”
“Hmm… What do you think she’d like?” Fuyumi asked before taking a sip of her tea.
“She’s been gardening in her free time and seems to enjoy that,”
“Ah, a bouquet! You could get her that if she likes flowers!” Nezumi said eagerly. Her tail was visibly now, swaying a bit like he’d noticed it did when she was excited about something. “And I may have a suggestion for how you can make it a little more special!”
“Thank you, both of you,” Shoto said, finally allowing his whole body to relax at the prospect of having some real help to figure out what to do.
……………………………………………………………..
“Shoto-Kun, good afternoon! I hope you weren’t waiting too long,” Momo called the following week as she jogged over to him. They had agreed to meet up at the entrance to the park. In one arm he had the sizeable picnic basket Fuyumi had helped him put everything in while the picnic blanket was tossed over his opposing shoulder.
“Ah. Not at all,” he said, smiling when he was her. He then held the basket up, looking away sheepishly. “I, um… prepared a lunch for us. With Fuyumi-Nee and Nezumi-San’s help. It’s nothing extravagant but I hope that it is acceptable,”
Gray eyes lit up at that. “Oh! I brought a homemade dessert for us as well!” She indicated the large purse she had slung over her shoulder, moving it to hold it open so he could peer inside. There was a colorful tupperware container inside, along with her other personal effects, but he couldn’t make out what was inside it. “It’s just some cookies… I’m still figuring out how to make more complex treats but I felt this would be a simple but enjoyable.”
“I’m sure they’ll be delicious,” he said with a nod before starting to rummage through the basket. “One last thing. I got these for you.” He help out to her a bouquet of a dozen white roses, tied off with pastel pink paper and lacy purple ribbon.
“Roses? They’re lovely, Shoto-Kun. Thank you,” she giggled, reaching to take them. She help the bouquet closer to smell them. She perked up when the rose dead center, sticking out just the slightest bit more than the others, brushed her nose. She blinked in alarm before tentatively reaching out to touch it. “Ah, it seems that this one is fake.”
“Yes. That was intentional. You see, this bouquet comes with a promise,” he explained, heart racing a ,mile a minute as he remembered what Nezumi-San had told him to say.
“Oh?”
“Yes. That I will love you until the final rose wilts,”
Momo’s eyes widened, her fingers still tracing the fabric petals of the fake flower, as a pink hue crept up her cheeks and the tips of her ears. A small smile turned up on Shoto’s lips as she stared down at the bouquet affectionately.
Maybe he could get this whole romance thing down, after all.

You know this fandom culture of considering Shoto strong confident "alpha" in the relationship, but I'm so tired of it. Give me more of my soft kind child. Imo he just wants to be loved and give love, but is confused because of his traumatic experience. Shoto would never thought, but showing affection is so important for him. He needs hugs, holding hands and any kind of Izuku's touch so much, he needs to know that everything is okay and he's still loved. Shoto is such a caring and soft partner. His heart is full of love, and he won't waste a single opportunity to show it. For Izuku he is like a stray cat that finally discovered what affection is. God, I can talk about it for hours
Me, reading your ask:
Tumblr media
YOU'RE RIGHT AND YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY SAY IT!
The boy is both touch-starved and socially inept. Sure, he comes across as a confident, aloof bad boy, but he ain't fooling us.
Threaten the chief of police? Easy.
Bond with a bunch of rowdy children? Hmmm.. How about I recite my entire character bio...
He ain't got a clue!
For years, he's been so alone, bottling up his emotions until it comes pouring out through his anger and bitterness. He'd forgotten what it was like to love, to be loved. But now he has friends, he has his siblings back, his mother back. He's relearning what it's like to care about people and have them care for him in return, and it's brilliant to see.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
His heart is so full of love and I truly believe he wants nothing more than to make sure nobody ever has to go through what he went through.
Tumblr media
Then there's Izuku, who's no stranger to pain. Izuku, who has so much love and kindness to give without ever expecting anything in return. Izuku, who shattered Shoto's walls and melted his heart because he's a hero and that's what heroes do. His first friend. His best friend. His partner.
Sure, he loves it when his friends high-five him, or when his mother kisses his forehead, or when Fuyumi traps him in a bone-crushing hug while Natsuo musses up his hair, but it's Izuku's touch that he craves the most.
When Izuku takes Shoto's hand in his own crooked one, squeezing affectionately, he can't help but trace his scars with his thumb as he's reminded of the lengths that his partner would go to for him. When those same hands cup Shoto’s cheeks as Izuku whispers just how precious he is to him, they end up wiping away the stray tears that leak from his eyes, because Shoto is starting to learn that it's okay to cry when you're happy. When strong arms wrap around his shoulders and chapped lips meet his own for a passionate kiss, Shoto immediately relaxes against him, because he feels truly safe in Izuku's embrace and, if given the chance, he'd never leave.
Sometimes though, he worries he's not good enough. The both of them get these feelings, but Shoto's not as vocal about it as Izuku. He's still trying to unravel the unhealthy habits from his childhood; he doesn't know how to articulate how he's feeling because no one was ever there to listen. He needs to be held, to be loved, to be reminded that he's not 'unsightly' or a 'creation' or the spitting image of his father. He just doesn't know how to say it.
Luckily, Izuku learnt to read him a long time ago. All it takes is one longing glance and he's there for him, reminding him that everything is okay.
And when Izuku mumbles a little bit too much, or starts to get jittery around loud noises that sound a lot like explosions, or when he tries to constantly reassure everyone that he's fine, Shoto is more than willing to return to favour. He'll tap on Izuku's shoulder or brush his hand against his; a gentle reminder that he's here and wants to help. Then, when Izuku sniffles a little bit and clings to him for support, Shoto holds him just as tightly, because even the number one hero needs to be cared for sometimes.
In conclusion, I just love them so much and you're so right! 👏😭

Word Count: 1,702 Words
Summary: Training and Todoroki siblings.
Warnings: Abuse Mention, Death Mention, let me know if I should tag anything else.
Notes: Touya’s clothes include links to what they look like.
Hair Dye Buddies: Chapter 5
"Where are we headed? The teacher dorms?" Touya asked.
"They're right over there." Shoto told him, showing him the building inside the gates. "But we're not going there. Mr. Yamada is over in the 1-C dorms right now, talking to Shinsou, another friend of mine through Midoriya, I guess. We're gonna go bother him and ask if you can train."
Shoto led Touya along after him into the 1-C dorms and was instantly greeted with exclamations of a new student from about half the populous. Touya was happy he still had a mask on his wrist because he heard someone coughing. He quickly put it on his face as he hid behind Shoto.
"No, this is my brother. Where's Present Mic? Still in Shinsou's room or down here?" Shoto asked the tall one with the big chin.
"Mr. Yamada is up in that weirdo's room. Is your brother even allowed on campus?"
Shoto brushed past him, taking Touya's wrist in hand and pulling him along to stay closeby so he wouldn't get bothered by the Gen Ed students who had bombarded them at the door. Touya got led up to the fifth floor and the fourth room on the boy's side before Shoto knocked on the door.
"S'up, little listeners?" Present Mic asked as he opened the door to reveal who Touya was assuming was Shinsou sitting on the bed looking rather tired.
"Is this a bad time?" Shoto asked.
"Not at all, me and Shinsou here were just talking about something but we were just finishing up since Shinsou needs to get his sleep in." Mr. Yamada told them. He was loud and energetic and bubbly, Touya was reminded of Fuyumi.
"Mr. Aizawa said we'd need someone to watch over Touya if he were to train his quirk. and Mr. Aizawa feel asleep in the 1-A commons. I'm sure that Sero's put whipped cream in his hand by now. But Touya needs a teacher to watch him and you're the only one who I knew where you were." Shoto told him.
"Alright, I'll be there just gimme a few minutes, little listeners!" Present Mic beamed and closed the door over. The pseudo-twins stood down the hall by the stairs and waited about ten minutes for Shinsou and him to finish up and hopefully Shinsou was falling or already asleep. He'd looked like he'd need it.
Shoto led Touya back through the students downstairs but this time, Mr. Yamada was leading them through. They began the twenty minute trek to Gym Gamma and they began there.
"Alright, kid, show us what you've got." The teacher told him and he unleashed a blizzard in the building they were in, icing the walls and floor with its intensity before he stopped it of his own will, something he'd never have achieved with his old fire. "That's a mighty strong blizzard you got there, kiddo." Yamada told him.
"Thanks." Touya mumbled.
"Do you have any special moves yet? Yamada asked.
"No, but I guess I could work on it?" And thus began trying for hours until he came up with a concentrated stream of snow flurries being like a firework, his snow acting as a smokescreen, and he learned how to create instant-made snowballs.
"You did great, little listener! I'm proud of you!" Yamada exclaimed.
"Thank you." He mumbled as Shoto and him went back to the dorms and Mr. Yamada
"Do you wanna take a shower, Touya?" Shoto asked.
"Sure."
"If you didn't pick up anything for yourself, I have some soaps in there. Most are for dry skin, but that's probably a plus with how much your fire used to give you burns. The whole towel closet is communal so you don't need to worry about grabbing the wrong one." Shoto told him as they got into the dorms.
"Yeah, thanks, Sho." Touya smiled.
"The twins are bonding!" Yaoyorozu looked pleased.
"Hi, Momo." Shoto greeted them.
"Hi, Momo." Touya parroted.
"Did you have fun training, Touya?" She asked.
"Yeah, I came up with a few things I can do besides just making a blizzard. It feels like this quirk was actually made for me." He proudly announced.
"That's great, Touya. I'm happy you're advancing quickly!" Momo bubbled with energy and smiles. Touya smiled back a bit, her energy was unmatchable, though.
"Hey there, Touya." Came Aizawa from the living room.
"Hi, Mr. Aizawa." He muttered.
"Us teachers had a meeting about the permanence of your deaging and Nezu has your adoption papers going through tonight on a UA direct order. All you need to do is sign them since you're technically a legal age and you'll legally be my son come tomorrow morning." Aizawa handed him a paper on a board.
"Okay." Touya read it over briefly before he signed on the line for his name to be.
"Congratulations, you're my son as of dawn tomorrow. Welcome to the family, we have more cats than humans." Aizawa told him, patting his head and Touya thought he'd get hit for a split second and jolted a the touch.
"Sorry." He muttered. "Didn't mean to react like that."
"You can't help engrained habits and I don't get offended by old habits. They die hard, I get it." Aizawa told him. "Alright, get a shower, you trained with Hizashi, I heard."
Flopping on his bed after his shower felt like heaven. Touya wasn't sure that wasn't what this was, actually. No Endeavor, no abuse, he had his brother, friends, a new parent even. He felt like he was home as he fell asleep in the cloud of a bed, cuddling a pillow close.
He heard but didn't react when Midoriya and Bakugou had their inevitable argument or Aizawa screaming at them to both shut up. He was actually kind of happy to have been deaged. Whatever life he had, he didn't care what it was, couldn't have been better than this new second chance at life.
The next morning was a weekend. Naturally, Aizawa invited Fuyumi and Natsuo over to speak on the matter of Touya's deaging. As soon as Natsuo walked into the meeting room and saw Touya, he was bawling and Fuyumi gasped and stood still. Shoto had to lead her in all the way to close the door.
"Touya, you're alive." Fuyumi whispered.
"Hi, guys." He awkwardly greeted them.
"As you can see we have some serious business to discuss. Please, sit." Aizawa told them. Both older siblings sat down in the chairs around the table.
"How is he alive!?" Natsuo asked loudly, causing the other three siblings to jump.
"Touya was found by Kirishima here the night before last." Aizawa gestured to Kirishima sitting next to him. "Touya has been permanently deaged five years for the last month. And his quirk was changed by the man Kirishima found harassing him outside a convenience store." Aizawa told them.
"He was on the streets two weeks and that man, Matsuda Ryuu, housed him for two weeks after." Aizawa told them. "Touya was temporarily enrolled into UA's hero course so I could keep an eye on him, however his enrollment will be come permanent if that's what he wants. I've legally adopted him since he's stated, at this age, your father threw him out onto the streets to begin with."
"Touya is staying in the 1-A dorms and I trust neither of you will have trouble not telling your father of this development until we figure out how to handle the situation of your father possibly trying to take custody back." Aizawa looked at Natsuo and Fuyumi expectantly.
"Of course not!" Fuyumi exclaimed.
"I don't speak to that piece of shit." Natsuo told him.
"I'll likely tell him once I establish full custody and fully move him into both my house and the dorms. Get him set up, establish communication lines to me and my partner, Hizashi." Aizawa told them.
"You'll keep him safe?" Was all Fuyumi asked.
"Of course. I'm his new parent and guardian, of course I'll keep him safe."
"Alright. Then, I don't see a problem." Natsuo told Aizawa and he looked over Shoto and Touya. "You know, I always thought you two looked like twins." Natsuo told them abruptly.
"Alright, if everyone's good with this, you two have full admission to the campus for the day so you can spend time with Touya and Shoto. Touya has yet to set up anything in his room, so hopefully you two can help him with that." Aizawa told them.
And, with that, the four siblings were off to the dorms and ended up in Touya's room, Natsuo laughing when he saw the clothing Touya had.
"You're still our emo brother, Touya, good to know." Natsuo smiled brightly.
"Yeah. Kirishima's friends took me out for that." Kirishima slung his arm around Touya's shoulders.
"Yeah, his style's a lot like Bakugou so a lot of that stuff is things we picked out for him." Kirishima told them. "This shirt is actually one Kaminari, our local pikachu, picked out for him. Speaking of, I should probably stop him from trying to get his toast out with a fork for the fifth time this week." Touya let them look at the black shirt with chains he was wearing as Kirishima saw himself out.
"I'm glad to see you never changed." Fuyumi beamed.
"I never aged, guys, of course I didn't change. I'm an angsty teenager in the prime of my quarter-life crisis." Touya reminded them.
"You know what I mean." Fuyumi smiled brightly as she hugged him close, she was sniffling? Was she crying? Touya tried to look up but his head was buried in her neck in a way he could barely move it. "I missed you so much." She whispered.
"I mean, I missed you guys too, for the month I remember at least." Touya admitted.
"We thought you died, Touya." Natsuo joined Fuyumi. Shoto awkwardly hugged him as well.
"You three will make me cry and then Mina will be mad about my makeup getting messed up again." Touya let his siblings tackle him into a cuddle pile on the bed. He felt safe having people, his siblings no less, holding him so close.

For your 200 followers omega event
Nighteye
Kurogiri
The Wild Wild Pussy Cats
Ms. Joke
Shoto’s siblings (excluding Touya)
Rei (Endeavor’s wife)
This one contains spoilers for the fandom in general. I hope you enjoy. If this isn't your cup of tea, blend of spices, or brew of coffee, move on. Bath and body works was my friend with helping scent these characters.
Sir Nighteye: He’s an Alpha but doesn’t like to be pestered about his dynamic or being annoyed with getting a mate. If taking on a mate was in his interest then he would send out applications. I think he would smell like ink from a stamping pad and fresh notebook paper. He might’ve paired up with Allmight, Bubble girl or Centipeder.
Kurogiri: He’s an Omega. I don’t think Garaki would’ve altered Oboro’s dynamic just to make him stronger. Just would’ve given him suppressants each month. He smells like cedar trees, rain, and fog. He would help Shigaraki through his heats. If his own heats got too out of control even with suppressants, he would be put in a room until it passes.
Tiger: He’s an Alpha. He show’s a caring side too. He cares about his partners and will do his best to protect them at any cost. I think he would smell like cedar, sandalwood, and vanilla. He is in a pack situation with Ragdoll, Mandalay, and Pixie-Bob.
Ragdoll: She’s a Beta. She feels like she can’t do much since she lost her quirk but she still does assistant work at their agency. Her partners help her when she feels down and sad. She smells like warm strawberries and cream. She is in a pack situation with Tiger, Mandalay, and Pixie-Bob.
Mandalay: She’s an Omega. I definitely see her as the caretaker in her pack. She took in her cousin Kota after his parents died after all. It did take time for him to adjust into the pack but the process was smooth. She can use her telepathy to help her partners or civilians calm down when they’re stressed out or in a rescue situation. She also uses her quirk to broadcast information to other heroes in her vicinity. She smells like sweet pumpkin and marshmallows. She’s in a pack situation with Tiger, Ragdoll, and Pixie-Bob.
Pixie-Bob: She’s a Luna. She can be very hyper and can be very loud. This can be disturbing to others around her. She does calm down around her partners and not be as hyperactive. She smells like citrus fruit, specifically lemons and grapefruit. She is in a pack situation with Tiger, Mandalay, and Ragdoll.
Ms. Joke: She’s a Beta. She will try to keep throwing herself at Aizawa even though he’s mated to Present Mic. This woman is relentless in trying to be a partner with Aizawa. She needs to take a hint. But she smells like sandalwood, salty ocean breeze and lemon zest.
Natsuo Todoroki: He’s an Alpha. Boy, was Endeavor happy that he had produced an Alpha but his quirk wasn’t powerful enough for him. Even though Natsuo is an Alpha, he is going for a medical welfare degree to help his brother Shoto get his heats back on a regular schedule and to help the rest of his family too. He would smell like spearmint and icy sea water. I think within the fandom he’d be shipped with Hawks but that’s a long shot. I see him settling down with a nice girl he meets at college.
Fuyumi Todoroki: She’s a Luna and has a strong caring side for her brothers. She took on the nurturing role after Endeavor sent Rei to the mental hospital. She helped raise Shoto as best as she could. She did her best to get rid of the suppressants and bring Shoto food or water during his heats when they came. Endeavor found out about this and eventually forbade it. He wouldn’t let a male Omega stink up his home. Fuyumi was scared of Endeavor since then. She does get Shoto some scent blocking items he can use in his room though. She smells like vanilla and Roses. I See her being a partner with Hawks.
Rei Todoroki: She’s an Omega and another reason why Endeavor wanted her as a mate. She couldn’t stand the way that Endeavor treated Shoto when they forced him to be tested for his dynamic when his quirk manifested and the way Endeavor treated him afterwards. Endeavor didn’t believe that males could be Omegas and females could be Alphas. Rei couldn’t take any of his abuse and eventually snapped. She didn’t mean to harm Shoto with the boiling water. She just wanted to rid the evidence of her abuser that she seemed to see in every one of her children. She acknowledges the fact that she has had a mental breakdown and she did get admitted into a mental ward to help her heal and get better. Shoto did come to her one day on his own and he forgave her for what she did. Ever since then they have been bonding again. She smells like sweet mint and vanilla. She’s still married to Endeavor so I don’t really see her being shipped with anyone else.

halu! may i request for a hawks/shoto/shindo hc or scenario where the reader's got a really short hair and is flat chested? and sometimes it bothers reader cause sometimes it makes other people think they're the brother or guy friend of the character when they're actually dating?
A/N: alkdsjhf sorry this took me so long oml every time I saw you on my notes I felt SO BAD hopefully these hcs were worth the wait 😌😌🥺 also, I really need to work on shortening my titles huh
Tumblr media
-`,✎ Hawks, Todoroki, and Shindo with an S/O who’s flat chested and has short hair
Tumblr media
➝ Shindo Yo
Tumblr media
― Okay so Shindo absolutely adores to tease you.
― Once he found out you were insecure about it, he decided the best remedy would be a healthy dose of loving teasing.
― He’s tactful and knows what to say to make you feel better while still disguising it as a joke.
― “How is your hair better than mine?”
― “You look so pretty in that dress.”
― “I’m so jealous of you, having big pecs is not fun >:(.”
― “How does your hair stay like that while training?!?!?”
― Whenever someone confuses you for one of his friends or his sibling, he corrects the person immediately.
― “Aww, it’s so cute seeing siblings bonding together!” said the girl at the counter while handing you your tickets.
― “aHEM, my s/o and I love this arcade.”
― Whenever he catches you looking in the mirror disappointedly be prepared for an attack of kisses coming your way.
― He will pepper them ALL over your face and neck, accompanied by reassuring comments.
― “You’re so pretty” ~ “I love how your hair smells” ~ “You’re cute when you style it this way” ~ “I could stare at you all day”…
― In his eyes, you’re the best looking person to ever walk this planet and he’s going to keep pestering you until you see it for yourself.
Tumblr media
➝ Hawks | Takami Keigo
Tumblr media
― At first, it broke his heart finding out you were insecure about your hair and chest.
― You were such an amazing person and he just couldn’t believe you didn’t see yourself in the same light as he did.
―  Whenever he notices you switching outfits because you feel like you’ll get confused for one of his friends again, he just wraps you into a hug and tells you you’d look good in anything.
―  On the other hand…
―  He loves to tease.
―  He would always make sure his comments don’t go too far and that they actually make you smile.
―  Additionally, this is literally Hawks
―  when it comes to girls, I like them as flat as boards lololol
―  Whenever there’s a misunderstanding, he’s just ignores them and goes,
― “Isn’t my s/o the prettiest?”
― Before pulling you close and pressing into you for a kiss.
― Needless to say, the media was very invested in your relationship with him being #2 and all
Tumblr media
➝ Todoroki Shouto
Tumblr media
― You were out with your boyfriend the first time it happened.
― The person attending you at the ice cream shop thought you were just friends, confusing you for a boy.
― Todoroki never really noticed the features that made you so insecure. To him, you didn’t look masculine, your short hair and your small chest were just part of what made you, you.
― It was just part of how you looked, and he loved how you looked.
― He didn’t catch onto your discomfort right away, correcting the scooper’s comment by clarifying you’re his partner, and brushing the moment off as a silly misunderstanding.
― However, as time went on, and these mishaps kept occurring, he started noticing how you tensed whenever it was brought up.
― Being the forward person that he is, he outright asked you one day.
―  “Does it make you uncomfortable when people assume, you’re one of my guy friends?”
― Him pointing out one of your insecurities out of the blue like that was kind of scary, but nevertheless you explained.
― After hearing your thoughts, he looked at you for a second before pulling you into a hug.
―  “Y/n, I don’t care about any of that,” he said in a comforting tone, “I mean, it wouldn’t be the same y/n if you had longer hair or a fuller chest, would it? all your features are beautiful because they’re yours, and they match with how you look.
― Besides, if we’re talking about looks, you’re the prettier one in the relationship,” he said, pulling back and vaguely gesturing at his scar.
―  “Oh, shut up,” you said, laughing at your boyfriend’s comment.

A PEEK INTO DABI’S MIND - part 2
How Touya turned into Dabi: was it really Enji’s fault?
Let’s be honest: Enji Todoroki isn’t gonna to gain the father prize of the year anytime soon. However pretty much everyone on the web agreed that it was his fault if Dabi turned out like this. My main point that it’s not the case.
Why?
We saw Enji’s side of the story, and someone think his flashback might be biased. However I think this is not the case.
Todorokis aren’t the main protagonists: inserting a biased narrative means that at some point the reader would get to know the truth (as it happened with Itachi in Naruto). It would take too long to develop all of this, thus we must believe that pretty much whatever each Todoroki remember about their family issues has happened at some point, exactly how it has been told. Which means that the issue it’s not wether it happened but rather when.
Enji was truly enamoured with his firstborn. He thought he could really be a better person for him. This means Enji was aware of his flaws in his youth and he really put everything on Touya’s shoulder. However this must have come with pride: he was happy and most likely Touya too, as we saw in the flashback. Touya was smiling and really impatient to train with his father.
Besides if you take a further look Touya never denied Enji’s flashback. He mentioned abused and being “discard”. In fact he said Enji forced Rei to marry him, he “created” Touya and later on he rejected him. Then he said he finally reasoned success with his “puppet, Shoto”.
That means Touya was boosted and overconfident with being the pride of his father. Enji’s flashback then must be true: Touya really wanted to train and learn flashfire. However the problem kicked in when he started to suffer from his flames. Of course such a kid couldn’t be an hero. So what Enji remembers happen somewhere in between “Touya’s birth” and “Shoto’s birth”.
Touya left a great hole in which Enji good memories could be place.
This is consistent though the whole flashbacks we have. Touya mentioned being discarded and that Enji beaten his brother Shoto.
And you can this even in Shoto’s memories: Enji said it was a shame Touya has a weak constitution.
This means that Touya went from being the heir, the masterpiece the most loved son to... nothing. He felt terrible, rejected to the point that the whole identity he had as a child (the future number one hero ) is now shattered and lost forever. That’s when Touya’s existential drama happened as described by himself.
Someone would call it depression; however I disagree. One of the important piece of ourselves it’s our identity. Identity is exactly who we are and it’s build by few pieces all merged together:
Self identity : who we think we are, how we define ourselves
Social identity: what our roles in society are according to us and to the external environment.
What Enji did was shattering Touya’s identity: he thought of himself as very strong and capable; and he was the most beloved son, the one who would have become an hero. Now everything is gone and all of this was given to Shoto, leaving him with a deep identity crisis.
Yes, what Enji did is cruel. But still it can’t be is fault. How do I know ?
Touya’s siblings are the answer.
Now, we get to the first psychological concept: attachment theory. This theory states about how you interiorise your relationship with your primary caregiver (who usually is the mother); then you build a concept of operative interior model and basically you’ll reflect it unconsciously into any relationship you will have, both friendship and romance. The are 4 models roughly, and a specific one that usually kicks in the case of parental abuse towards the child or the other partner if the child witnesses. I’ll have you know now that Todoroki’s sibling don’t seems develop this one.
Second concept I wanna introduce it resilience. Basically it’s a trait/ability we have to face and cope with stressful events. Being in part an ability we can enhance it, but being it in part a personality trait, resilience can change from on subject to another. Imagine a super stressful events, as a war; some soldiers are fine , others develop PTSD; why. Resilience can be one of the many answer.
Third concept is protector factors. Those are some random happenings in one’s life which are positive and reduce the risk to develop illnesses/ risky behaviour and such. For example , if you live in a very bad neighbourhood with violence, gun, poverty and drugs you might not become a criminal because you have a good family that shelter you from it.
I gave you simple example but as you can realised the topic is much more complex.
Back to the siblings, we can see that each of them have a very cold behaviour in their own unique way. The most regular however is Fuyumi.
My guess is that Enji was so focused on Touya that this sheltered Fuyumi by Enji’s flaws, functioning as a protector factor. That would explain why she has a very positive conception of family: she had more or less a normal father and a normal mother. That made her interiorised an overall good interior model. In fact she’s confident her brothers cares about her , as much as her parents and she seeks the loving family she had back then in her youth. I suspect that by nature Fuyumi is the most resilient sibling out of all of them.
Let’s go to Natsuo and Shoto now. Both of them are close the concept of avoidant interior model. This can be more evident with Earlyroki, as Sero calls him: he didn’t want any friends at all and constantly pushed away everyone. Midoriya was a life changing condition because avoidant personality are stuck with the idea that “nobody’s cares” about them. In fact in the experienc called “Strange situation”, which study the reactor of the baby, the baby has to be left alone by the mother momentarily. According the paradigma this is enough of a trigger to cause a behaviour, such burying and wanting the mom to be back. Avoidant children never makes a fuss over their mother to be gone and even if a stranger appears, the let him console them of play with them (something that shouldn’t happen). Similarly aren’t particularly that the mother is back.
I most of cases these people had parents that for one reason or another never were that loving or were perceived as distant. Basically when they were children they didn’t know whom to go to when they were hurt and push it though any difficult (in which difficult can even mean “I need to wear my shoes”) by themselves.
Shoto’s situation is slighter better than Natsuo’s just because his mother Rei was that person he knew he was loved by. The teapot accident ruined their relationship cause Shoto thought he lacked said love and avoided all of it. When he finally built again his relationship with his mother, both in his mind and in reality, he finally can see people can love and care for him.
However Natsuo has no one. This is evident because in Japan you come of age at 21 but he already lives alone. Fuyumi even remarked that Natsuo barely call now. This means he’s so used to do stuff by himself that he doesn’t even share with his siblings he has a girlfriend. He doesn’t feel the urge to. Besides he admits that he barely even know Shoto. This is on Natsuo: in fact Shoto was younger , it was him who was supposed to fill the gap, but he never did (instead Fuyumi always asks her brothers what they are up to, with little answer of them). That’s probably because he has interiorised no one cared, thus he never tried.
Now let’s go to Touya. He’s the hardest , but by any mean I think he developed a greater bond with his father than with his mother.
Yes: I think Touya legitimately loved Enji and he still does (but I’ll get to it later).
However when he was discarded and went through crisis the good model he had thanks to Enji (like Fuyumi’s ) was gone and contrary to Shoto he had no caregiver to go and cry to if he had a better bond with his dad. Let’s add that Rei was Shoto’s protector factor which saved him by being like his brother Natsuo, and that he couldn’t turn to Fuyumi because her relationship with their father was stable at the time. He turned to the only one left and the only one who could understand: Natsuo.
For someone like Natsuo it was like to be seen, and to be existing. He consoled his desperate brother , and thus he was loved and seen by at least someone. In that case Touya’s pain function as a factor for Natsuo cause he had someone to take care of.
In fact all of the three of them picked very caring and dedicated job to help and nurture others: teacher, medicine and well being graduate and being an hero.
I lowkey think that this happened cause Enji relies greatly on Touya , so he never properly built a relationship with his mother (he didn’t hate her of course, but his dad was much more important). Since Enji had no ambition over Fuyumi, she had both her parents. However Natsuo was born when most likely Touya showed sign of not being able to stand his quirk. Being Natsuo white haired he was discarded pretty soon: that’s why. Natsuo had barely no relationship with his father, and instead had his mother. Same goes for Shoto.
Why I’m sure Enji’s abuse couldn’t have turned Touya into Dabi?
Because as much as all siblings are messed up , they are all highly functional. Yes , their condition ain’t of the best, but they manage to go on in their lives, especially Natsuo, whose situation is the worst. That means that as much as Enji was a terrible father, what severely destroyed Touya was something else.
Besides, Enji loved Touya. He kept all of this belonging and he’s seen praying at his altar. I won’t go on lots on this point, but he really felt connected to his firstborn and his death pushed Enji on denial and kept ignoring ”his responsibilities” as he said. I suspect that Enji wasn’t able to cope with Touya’s death and fell into a deep denial, basically acting like Touya never existed to avoid pain.
Which, if you think about it, makes Enji’s situation even more tragic. He was a bad father and that caused Touya’s death. So he stopped to be a father entirely. And neglect his children.
Lastly, I’d like to consider the insane amount of expectation eastern parents are said to have about their children. This can be seen in many media and it has turned into a meme when it comes to Asian and school grades. This means Enji was inclined to be a rough and way too rigid father who hold way to high standards. Basically he probably perceived himself as a severe dad (in fact Fuyumi and Natsuo reaches outstanding Results after all) but the reality he’s was basically in the verge of being an abuser. I still say on the verge cause we never knew how consistent his behaviour were after Touya’s death. And keep in mind the Omiai still exists in Japan. He married Rei, but thanks of the flowers we knew he cared about her; and in fact he have her hospitalised, in a culture in which mental illness are extremely stigmatised. A divorce couldn’t have done much better.
Moreover I’ve read plenty of cases of women far more abused that what Rei possibly went though. I consider a 10 years hospitalisation... very unlikely. In fact abused women tend to have a sudden improve after the abuser is taken away, what they are troubled with is starting their live over again. I suspect that he’s , Enji did awful things to her, but that in the end they liked each other just enough to get marry (Flowers and Rein wanting more than one kid) and that behind Rei’s hospitalisation there’s something worse about her, as depression. She had four kids so post- partum syndrome which later got worse isn’t off the table, as well as a severe breakdown after Touya‘a death.
All of this consideration said, Touya’s mind was in a pinch but it wasn’t beyond salvation from his despair and didn’t prevent him to build a good life like Natsuo did.
So... what did he go though for real?

Shoto: Huh.
Natsu: Back on track guys?
Hawks: Thank you Fuyumi for blessing me with your trust, I appreciate it-
Dabi: *As he talks his flames slowly start to ignite and surround him* Alright, why don’t we murder some people, cut off their fingers and toes, spell out liar on Endeavours agency door and then hang their burning corpses from the roof? That way while their flesh melts and turns crispy they drip-
Natsu: WOAH NO THAT TOOK A REALLY DARK TURN-
Fuyumi: WHY CANT WE DO SPICE GIRLS?!
*Hawks pulls out squirty bottle and squirts Dabi*
Dabi: HEY-

Natsu: SO WHAT ARE WE DOING.
Hawks: Let’s go to the shops!
Fuyumi: But why?
Hawks: *Enthusiasm and excitement is at 100% by now*I don’t know- But it’ll be fun while we brainstorm!
Dabi: There’s no point- Nobody’s gonna say yes.
Natsu: Sure, sounds great. We can all have some hang out time to think!
Fuyumi: Alright! We should totally try this! Bonding time- Maybe we can all forget last week!
Shoto: That meetup haunts my nightmares.
Hawks: YAY!!! *Grabs Dabi’s arm* Let’s go!
*Everyone is exciting and chatting*
Dabi: There’s no point in trying to resist- I’ll get my jacket.
Hawks: Wa-hoo!
[Later at the mall]
Hawks: Ugh, I hate your jacket. No style whatsoever!
Dabi: It’s to hide my identity so I don’t get caught by the cops.
Fuyumi: *Thinking- Whispers something in Hawks ear while Dabi looks at them suspiciously and slowly backs away*
Shoto: What first?
Natsu: We look for inspiration-
Hawks: WE GIVE TOUYA A MAKEOVER!
Dabi: NO I KNEW IT-
Fuyumi: *Clapping excitingly* Yes! We can get you knew piercings-
Shoto: *Eating popcorn* This sounds fun.
Dabi: Hell no *bleep*, I’m outta here-
*Natsu catches him and gives Hawks a thumbs up*
Dabi: ISNT THIS SUPPOSE TO BE A MEETING FOR TARNISHING ENDEAVOUR NOT ME?!
Hawks: *Squirty bottle followed by hissing* We can come up with ideas later!
Dabi: *Everyone advancing in him* GET AWAY FROM ME YOU OVERSIZED CHICKEN AND HOT N COLD WANNABES-
Natsu: Wait.
*Everyone stops- Dabi prepares to ditch everyone*
Natsu: Why don’t we split up into pairs and find inspiration instead of torturing big bro Touya?
Dabi: Don’t call me that- WAIT.
Fuyumi: Yes?
Dabi: Be my partner so I don’t have to go with Hawks-
Fuyumi: Nope- Natsu and me are going together.
Dabi: Shoto?
Shoto: Sorry- I’m taken. *Is with a random guy who looks like he escaped from a meme*
Dabi: Goddamit! You don’t even know him-
Hawks: Yay- Makeover time! LETS GO! *Grabs his arm and runs off. All the leftover siblings do the cross motion on their chest and salute*
Natsu: Alright- See everyone later! Any ideas Fuyumi?
Fuyumi: Hell yeah, let’s go!
[An hour later- Shoto and RG]
RG: So What are we doing bro?
Shoto: Tarnishing my fathers name for revenge because of his constant abuse throughout me and my siblings childhood.
RG: Lit.
Shoto: Excuse me?
RG: Bro, it’s slang.
Shoto: *Confused* It makes me die inside everytime you talk with it.
RG: Ha, so fresh bro.
Shoto: I AM CONFUSED TALK HUMAN.
Shoto: Wait.
RG: Spill the tea and explain bro.
Shoto: Teach me your slang. If I hate it my father will.
RG: No problemo, I can teach you bro.
Shoto: Thank you- Now stop saying bro before I pull a Dabi.
[Fuyumi and Natsu]
Fuyumi: These are horrible- my eyes can’t handle them! *Is holding a pair of boots that are to hideous to describe*
Natsu: *Holding a glitter bomb kit like it’s gold* I don’t even want to see-
Kirishima: OH WOW THOSE ARE GREAT!!! *Is pointing at the shoes*
Fuyumi: Ah hello! What are these?
Kirishima: Crugges, potentially Todoroki’s sister- Aren’t they awesome?
Fuyumi: If awesome is rock bottom shoe design then yes.
Natsu: Wait- Those are horrible. Any sane human would hate them! And getting glitterbombed by this. *motions to kit*
Kirishima: Sounds about right!
Fuyumi and Natsu: *Le gasp* Bingo!
[Hawks and Dabi]
Hawks: And I think a blue would be the best colour for you in a snazzy-
Dabi: Aren’t we suppose to be finding ways to tarnish Endeavours name? This hardly supports the idea.
Hawks: Yup! But we still have a few hours to kill~ *Is walking around store with infinite outfits, all being carried by his telepathic feathers*
Dabi: Urgh. Look at these- *Is at the sock stand. Hawks runs over*
Hawks: THEYRE FABULOUS. LOOK AT THE TRAIN SOCKS!
Dabi: That’s gay.
Hawks: We’ve been dating for 2 years.
Dabi: True.
Hawks: But look at them!
Dabi: I can’t stop- Wait. Look at those- *Bird leg socks- Hawks has a twinkle in his eyes*
Hawks: I NEED THEM.
Dabi: No, I’m intervening-
Hawks: HAHA WE CAN USE THESE!!!
Dabi: No.
Hawks: FIRST WE NEED TO GET YOU DONE UP AND THEN WE BUY ALL OF THE SOCKS!!!
Dabi: What no why-
Hawks: LETS GO!
[Later at the foodcourt]
Natsu: So guys, what inspiration did you get?
Shoto: Imma make it clear that my ideas so fresh that even my *bleep* bro Endeavour can’t shake it.
Everyone: What.
Hawks: Heh slang- that’ll make Endeavour right out of this weird existence. *Finger guns*
Dabi: *Is hiding in jacket and muffled* This species needs a purge.
Natsu: That’s bad- Hawks and Dabi?
Hawks: SOCKS. *Throws a pair of pizza socks in Natsu’s face* YEET.
Fuyumi: *Is checking Natsu for potential injuries* Alright- Anything else?
Hawks: *Looking proud* Nope.
Shoto: *Facepalms*
Natsu: Well me and Fuyumi got these- A glitter bomb kit and several pairs of crugges. *Reveals shoes*
Hawks: Eww. I love them!
Dabi: Burn them- They’re disgusting and need to be destroyed.
Fuyumi: I know but this nice kid from Shoto’s class told us about them! I couldn’t refuse after he got blown up and dragged away by an angry sparkle sparkle boom boom teen after attempting to buy a pair for me! He said anything for a fellow crugges lover. Then I decided to by them to join the crugges community~
Natsu: Tis true. Also, what happened to Dabi?
Dabi: NOBODY SHALL KNOW. NOT EVEN OVER MY DEAD BODY. *Angrily Sets hands on fire*
Hawks: He doesn’t like my fashion taste.
Shoto: He’ll spill the tea eventually. *Finger guns*
Natsu: Please stop.
Fuyumi: So, What are we going to do?
Dabi: The corpses on his desk- I’m telling you! *Is squirted by Hawks*
Natsu: Votes?
Hawks: EVERYTHING. *Looks At Dabi suspiciously*
Hawks: Except his ideas.
Shoto: Sounds fly my- *Fuyumi covers his mouth*
Fuyumi: Sounds fun! We’ll do it tomorrow.
Hawks: Aw yeah!
Shoto: *muffled response*
Dabi: My idea was better.
Natsu: *Rubs neck Shinso style* Something tells me someone’s going to die during this chaos.
Everyone: Yep.
