Amaricia Falls
Tumblr media
Known for its beautiful waterfall, Amaricia Falls is a new town with a very small population. There's a nice park, a small gocery store and a diner to attend the local population and possible visitors that come to see the waterfall, but not really anything else.
Tumblr media
As of the beginning, Amaricia Falls is home to seven households. Our old friends Karissa Modena and Lilly Davis being the first two households. They, along with the other five households, will be introduced officially in their own individual posts. But for now you can see their basic informations here.
Besides the seven households, I've decided to have some townies already established. Among them are the townies made for Veridia Hearth and the original residents of Magellania (with a bonus sim from the even earlier Madolid!). I love those sims, and couldn't just leave them forever just because I lost their hood.
My intention is for Amaricia Falls to be "kind of" a BACC, but not quite. I'm not unlocking stuff, and I will only have sims open shops if I want them to. I took some inspiration from @isimchi's BACP and from @delijume-sims's gameplay rules, because I like incorporating rules from all over the place into my game. Honestly, I think I grabbed some stuff from The Prosperity Challenge as well. I didn't actually write up lots of rules though, so I don't have much to show you guys lol.
I'll play with 2 days-1 year lifespan and 4 days seasons. Though I'm not really into very long rotations, so for starters my plan is to play each family for 2 days at a time.
I used to use a mod to shorten pregnancies to be more realistic with the lifespans, but I felt that it was barely a challenge then. So I've decided that I'm keeping the 3-days pregnancies, though they're actually 3 days instead of 75 hours.
Taxes are due at the beginning of each season, so every 2 rotations. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it this way or change them to weekly, but for now that's it.
I'm using Doctors Need Degrees*, so I gave some of the sims degrees when I thought was necessary. Not all of them, though. Some of them not having degrees was intended.
* I edited the file because I hate the no bypassing limit for degree required careers, but I set the limit to 5% and changed the others from 10% and 25% to 15% and 33%.
I really enjoyed setting up this hood, and I'm so excited to actually play it and to share it with all of you. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do <3

ok !! yall need so many updates from me aaa i'll try to speedrun them n not give u too much junk to read hehe
Tumblr media
the main thing is, today i took a huuuge train ride home from uni !! i was on the road for a super long time but i got tons of reading done :3 but for about a month , i won't be seein any of my uni lore people in person ;; it's gonna be weird for sure since i've spent so much time around them recently, but i think in some cases (ie meadow lol) the distance will be good to help me rly evaluate what i'm getting out of that closeness n whether it's worth it.
plus, i'll get to hang out with my friends from here more too !! theres TONS of interesting stuff goin on with them too, so i'm sure there'll b more of that !!
Tumblr media
anyway, here's a mini recap of some stuff that's happened since my last entry !!
i had a big night out with a bunch of people !! my first stop was an indie music night with odie and jiji, then after that down to a queer club night where we met meadow and one of their friends !! we also ran into another classmate who we didn't know was even queer, n he ended up joining us for the night :D
i also ran into a bunch more people i know !! specifically winter and (new character time) wave, who i'll add to the masterlist sooon :3
overall it was super fun n they played a bunch of my favorite songs :3 i love gay people <3
remember how i said 'as per jiji's advice i'm gonna try n keep some distance from meadow'? yeah i for sure did not do that. we explored a retail park n saw a movie on one day, did field work in the city another, n kept walking to class together almost every day !! i am ,, so tired !!
honestly, the crush might be beginning to fade, or just shapeshift into a friendship. i'm becoming more n more aware of potential red flags or just reasons i might not personally want to date them.. mainly, we're just really different in terms of personality. compared to when i'm hanging out with jiji and odie, i just mask around meadow a lot more. i overthink a lot, they tease me over my silly cringe interests n traits (of which there are a lot lol) instead of hyping me up , and i know they don't mean anything of it but i'm tired of being constantly reminded of how Different i am from them ,, and by extension from most people.. ok but wait there was last night .......
we went to a candlelight concert !! to any pair of people other than us, it probably would've been super romantic. what a waste of a perfect night, right? but it was still nice. we dressed up extra pretty, the music was nice, we sat right at the back of a beautiful church and listened to basically a classical music concert. i drank mulled wine in the intermission, there were about 20 christmas trees all decorated and themed after different charities and local organisations. crush thoughts aside, it was a really magical experience for what it cost (15 pounds yippee) :3
but , of course , since i knew that if i got home after that i'd have the most miserable yearning-filled night, i helped set up a pizza party with my flatmates (and odie) instead !! so jiji, comet, and our fourth roommate chipi !! i'm surprised i haven't mentioned him yet, at some point he should get a loredump post of his own since there's a lot to unpack with him lol
anyway the pizza party went great , save for the worlds worst phonecall with the pizza place which i foolishly volunteered to have. that pizza place employee in particular encompasses all the reasons i get anxious about phone calls.. yikes!
Tumblr media
ok i think that's everything interesting that's happened so far !! here's to hoping i can have a nice relaxing (but still productive !!) month off. well , aside from the 6 giant essays i need to research and write >< but it's fine, i'll cope :,) bye for now !!

Time to cross off a new continent! I learned that my graduate program would not be offering any global immersives this year, so I decided to book a trip to Peru. Machu Picchu has long been on my list so once the condo was sold, I figured this was as good a time to do it as any. My friend Kevin was also down to do the trip so we booked it about a month beforehand!
Our first stop was Lima, Peru - a big city and beach town. We got in pretty late to our hostel so went straight to bed. They did have Uber and this other app called Cabify and it was so cheap! $13 for 40 min trip from airport. In the morning, we got up and started walking towards the miraflores neighborhood. The walk was beautiful because we found a path that led us down to walk along the beach. In miraflores, we went to larcomar, a nice outdoor mall with beautiful views; el parque de amor - a small park with views and pretty sculptures; and the Indian market. A lot of the markets sold the same stuff but I found some cute sneakers for pretty cheap. On our way back, we stopped at this nice restaurant called Cala for ceviche, pisco punch and live music. It was a very nice place, we felt underdressed. It was also quite expensive comparatively to other restaurants. After that we went home to clean up and join the 6pm walking tour around barranco. This tour was nice because it went in the opposite direction of where we went during the day and we got to see the tail end of the sunset. We also tried lucuma ice cream at the feria market. Lucuma is a fruit in Peru that actually tastes like butterscotch. It was very yummy! We also learned that Chifa is a popular cuisine in Peru - it is a combination of Peruvian and Chinese cuisine. We tried a local place the tour guide recommended and it was pretty good! Very interesting combination because this beef dish we got had fries in it. We walked about 14 miles by the end of that day so we were pretty tired!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next day we woke up early to begin our travels to machu pichu. We took a plane from Lima to Cusco, taxi to plaza de armas, bus to ollaytambo and train to aguas calientes. Luckily we were able to grab a quick bite in the plaza de armas at the plaza cafe and we met some fellow Americans who now live in Peru and they gave us a bunch of recommendations for our day in Cusco on the way back from Machu Picchu.
Even though it was a long travel day, it was all very scenic along the way. I was very sad to see all of the stray dogs though.
Tumblr media
Once we got to the town of Machu Picchu - called aguas calientes - I struggled up the hill to our hostel with my suitcase and then we set out looking for dinner. We ended up getting more of the Chinese/Peruvian food (chifa) at a restaurant called Amazonas. The food was decent but we later learned that some other Americans from our hostel got food poisoning from there - luckily we did not!
After dinner, we walked around the town - it was pretty small so easy to walk from one end to the other. We found a soccer field where the locals were playing and enjoyed watching them and the street dogs play. On the walk home after, I got lured by a great deal on a massage - only $10 for 30 mins and it was great!
The next day was our big Machu Picchu hike day. We took the bus up the mountain and did the circuit 4 hike around the Machu Picchu town ruins where several alpacas were grazing. I later learned that the alpacas are actually imported from north America to eat the grass and keep the ruins - they are imported lawnmowers lol! After exploring the town and taking pictures with the llamas, we ventured to the huayna Picchu hike. This was probably the toughest hike I have ever done. I’m not sure if it was the elevation but I was surprised by how quickly I was out of breath as I have done many hikes before without much issue - especially the recent camelback mountain. We hiked up constant stairs for about an hour and through several different climates - Sun, rain, fog, you name it. Luckily even though it was raining we had a clear enough view for a photo with the ruins at the top! It was pretty amazing. And on the way down, the sun came back out again!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the hike, we ate at the buffet restaurant in the hotel by the entrance. It was a bit expensive by Peru standards ($40 pp) but it was a great meal. After that day, we were so tired and spent some time chilling in a hammock on the rooftop of our hostel. Then we ventured out for more exploring, and dinner and drinks in a new area.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next day our train back to Cusco wasn’t until the afternoon, so we checked out the hot springs in the morning, then I got a leg massage which was much needed as I was so sore from our hike the day before. Then we grabbed some lunch and headed to our train. On the train we sat across from two other Americans who currently live in cartel ridden part of Mexico - it was interesting to hear their story and adventures. Once we got to Cusco, we ventured out for dinner. We went to this nice place called Chicha which had been recommended to us and the meal was amazing! Afterwards, we went out looking for stray dogs to give our leftovers to and they really appreciated it.
The next day was our last day and a full day in Cusco. We had gotten a list of recommendations from others so we wanted to check everything out since our flight wasn’t until 10pm. First we hiked up to saqsaywaman which is a historical Incan site with a beautiful view of Cusco city. Not as tough as Machu Picchu but still difficult! Once at the top we got sold on a horse back riding tour around the area - it was really beautiful countryside! Afterwards, we walked all around Cusco to all the sights that had been recommended - nothing particularly of note but we did try some delicious Nikkei cuisine which is a cross between Japanese and Peruvian. That was one of my favorite meals of the trip!
Tumblr media
Overall a great trip in my book with a combination of adventure, exploring and animals. The only downfall were the constant hassling from locals and the fact that it was less busy than usual with tourists so not as many friends to meet or people out at the bars. Definitely a once in a lifetime trip though!

Fridays never seemed to come soon enough. You looked forward to the beginning of the weekend as much as the next person, but over the last few months, Friday nights took on new meaning for you. You moved to the trailer park a little less than a year ago, wanting to buy a small place of your own and start making a home for yourself. It wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t expensive, and it was only a ten-minute drive from your office where you’d just secured a promotion. Roberta, the manager, helped you make it feel like home right away, insisting on going with you to pick out paint samples and providing copies of menus for the best take-out in the area.
Before long, Roberta introduced you to the trailer park’s resident certified genius, Mary Adler. Mary and Roberta spent Saturday mornings with you when you were free, which unfortunately, was pretty much all the time. You played games, sang karaoke, and even let Mary’s one-eyed cat Fred come over. He took a liking to your swinging chair in the living room, and if Mary couldn’t find him at home, odds were he somehow squeezed through your window and ended up in that chair.
Another two months had passed, though, before you met Mary’s uncle and guardian, Frank. You came to learn that Mary stayed with Roberta every Friday night because “Frank needs time to be an adult” and she was not allowed to come back to the house until noon on Saturdays. This information made you feel like Frank must be some kind of sad, perpetual fuckboy. You were right about the sad part, not so much about the latter. One morning while Mary played with your watercolors, Roberta let slip - ironically over a cup of tea - that Frank did have the occasional hookup, but usually, he drank himself sleepy on Friday nights and just needed the time to himself. He worked himself to the bone as a boat mechanic, often late into the night because it was too hot to do some jobs during the day. Frank took Mary in when she was just a baby after his sister, her mother, tragically committed suicide. He spent the majority of his scarce free time with Mary, so when Mary was still a toddler, Roberta offered the Friday night deal. Frank countered that he would do any repairs in the trailer park for free, but she refused to let him do that work without pay, saying he deserved to have a life, too.
She also informed you that Frank was a former philosophy professor, single, and very attractive, especially if you were into the rugged thing. You rolled your eyes with an amused exhale and took another sip of your tea. You’d be lying if you said your interest wasn’t piqued. Mary then shouted over her shoulder, confirming that she’d been listening to your entire conversation, “Frank is great, but he’s a grump. Good luck cracking that egg.” You snorted, nearly spitting out your tea, and she went back to reading your color theory book to Fred.
With that, you heard a sharp rap at the door. You set your tea down on the kitchen table, curious who your visitor might be. You didn’t know anyone else in the trailer park, or in town, really. You opened the door, taking in the sight of possibly - no, definitely - the most handsome man you’d ever seen. You quickly guessed it was Frank, judging by the grease smeared on his quite large hands. His eyes, though tired, had the same bright look as Mary’s, and he had the most perfectly imperfect fluffy hair and overgrown stubble.
“Good morning,” he said with a sweet, closed-mouthed smile. “Is Mary here?”
You had to remind yourself to breathe. Stammering, you opened the door wider, gesturing inside. “Hi, y-yes. She is!” Why am I like this? “She’s just painting with Fred. Please, come in.” You moved aside so he could fit his broad shoulders through the doorframe and then held out your hand. “You must be Frank. I’m Y/N. Mary is just wonderful.” You smiled at him, feeling the heat rise in your cheeks.
He took your hand in both of his, gentler than you’d expected. “I’m sorry. Yes, I’m Frank. It’s great to meet you, finally.” He smiled wide for the first time and you were certain you’d pass out. Who LOOKS like this? “And thank you, she really is wonderful. I couldn’t do it without Roberta. She’s family.” He smiled and waved at Roberta, who was looking at you over the lip of her mug.
Mary didn’t even bother to turn around and face Frank. “What are you doing here, Frank? It’s only 11. I have a whole ‘nother hour with my friends.” You tried to keep your laugh quiet, covering your mouth with your hand and shaking your head.
“Well, excuse me for thinking you might like to go out on the boat with me this morning. I guess I’ll go by myself.”
Mary jumped up from the floor, scrambling to clean up your paints and books. “Can Y/N and Roberta come?”
Frank crouched down to meet Mary’s eyes. “Of course they can, if they’d like.” He looked back at you over his shoulder, trying to gauge your interest, then turning back to his niece. “But do you remember what I told you?”
You could see that Mary was making a conscious effort not to roll her eyes. “You told me that my adult friends have adult lives that include adult responsibilities, and they might not always be available to spend time with me.”
“And?” he looked at her expectantly.
“And I need to invite them to do things without assuming they will do them.” She couldn’t hold back her eye roll any longer, but she made sure not to let Frank see. “Roberta, Y/N, would you both like to join us on the boat today?”
You were amazed by the exchange taking place in front of you, able to see where some of Mary’s brains and tenacity came from. The conversation between the two flowed so easily, playful yet intelligent. It was clear that Frank treated Mary not as a child, but as a person, and you chided yourself internally for thinking that was kinda hot.
Shaking yourself out of your mildly inappropriate thoughts, you responded. “I’d love to come, Mary.” You smiled at her, bending over to help her pick up the last of the paints from the floor. “Roberta?”
Roberta gave you a look and you just knew she planned this somehow. “I actually do have some of those adult responsibilities to handle today, but thank you for inviting me.” You sent a glare in her direction, quick but no less scathing. “Maybe next time.” She winked at you before washing out her mug and saying her goodbyes.
You spent the whole rest of the day and night with Frank and Mary, doing everything from building sandcastles to cooking dinner together. Mary eventually fell asleep in your lap as you were watching Oliver & Company, Frank’s favorite Disney film that had become Mary’s, too. “An underrated classic,” they told you in unison.
You helped Frank put Mary to bed, a task made easier after such a tiring day. “I guess I should get going.” You stood awkwardly in the small kitchen, unsure of yourself and painfully aware of how close your hand was to Frank’s resting on the counter.
“Yeah, I have a job early in the morning.” He looked down at his shoes, unable to look you in the eye, and you wondered if he hadn’t found your company as enjoyable as you’d found his.
“Listen, I don’t know if you’ve been to Ferg’s? The little bar down the road? I go every Friday night just to relax and have a few beers. Maybe you’d like to come with me next weekend?”
Is he asking me on a date? You could feel your heartbeat racing. The look on your face must not have matched the excitement you felt at the prospect of spending time alone with the dreamy, kind, sarcastic man in front of you.
He felt like an idiot when you hesitated to answer. He clearly read everything wrong. He had to fix this. “It’s a good place to meet people, you know? I know you’re fairly new to the area, so if you’re looking for more local friends, it’s a good place to start.” He winced, hoping you couldn’t sense his embarrassment at thinking that you would want to go on a date with him.
You swallowed, trying not to let your disappointment show outwardly. Of course he’s not interested in me. Stupid. “Oh, yeah! That would be great, Frank. What time?”
Frank let out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding, relieved that you didn’t seem offended by his offer. “How’s 7? I’ll pick you up? We can walk over together.”
And that’s how Fridays came to mean so much to you. Almost every Friday for the last six months, Frank met you at your door and you walked to Ferg’s together. Frank told you it would be a good place to make new friends, but you paid no mind to the other patrons. You only had eyes for each other, yet neither of you could see it, even though Roberta pointed out (repeatedly) that neither of you had taken anyone else home in all that time.
The more time you spent with Frank, the more certain you were that God was real and your life was His favorite trainwreck reality TV series. Even if you could have customized a dream man Build-A-Bear style, Frank still would blow your creation out of the water. He was smart and funny, not to mention an adoring parent to Mary, to whom you grew more attached each day. He was kind and thoughtful, talented and hard-working. Although he was a grouch, as Mary would say, he always was sweet to you. He took a genuine interest in anything you had to say, whether you were venting about work or filling him on the latest episode of whatever show you were binging. He was ridiculously sexy without even trying. All those hours he spent doing manual labor in the sun did wonders for his physique. You’d only seen him completely shirtless on one occasion, and the image of him with sweat dripping down his chest was burned into your memory, fueling your late-night thots and causing you to break out your vibrator on what was now a regular basis.
Six months had come and gone in the blink of an eye, and you’d begun to accept that Frank didn’t want to be anything more than friends with you. You decided tonight was as good a night as any to talk to someone new, to start letting go of your unrequited feelings.
You swapped out your usual jeans for a sundress, t-shirt bra for a push-up, and lip balm for lipstick. Putting your phone and some cash in a wristlet, you considered wearing your new strappy sandals. The walk to Ferg’s was about five minutes each way down a sandy road, though, and memories of the sticky floor inside aided your preferred pair of Converse in their victory for the night.
Just as you finished tying your shoes, you heard a knock at the door. You adjusted your cleavage and fluffed your hair a final time with one last look in the mirror. Here goes.
Frank felt like he had the wind knocked out of him in the best possible way. He suddenly felt entirely underdressed in his aloha shirt, even though it was his go-to for nights out of the house. He’d never seen you dressed so nicely when you weren’t going to work.
You were the kind of beautiful that didn’t require makeup. Your natural hair always framed your face perfectly, even if you didn’t think so. He thought you were adorable when you were concentrating on something, blowing your hair out of your face with a huff. Visions of your soft curves made their way into Frank’s dreams on more than one occasion. He had seen you in your swimsuit several times, sunbathing with Roberta and swimming with Mary at the beach. It wasn’t even all that revealing, but it accentuated your figure in ways that forced Frank into needing a cold shower or two. Above all, though, he admired your heart. You’d allowed Mary into your life without hesitation, spending time with her because you wanted to and allowing her to ask all those questions that Frank just wouldn’t be able to answer. It killed him that you didn’t see him the way he saw you, a perfect partner for him and a worthy maternal figure for Mary.
“Frank? You okay?” Your concerned voice shook him out of his thoughts, prompting him to close his mouth which apparently had opened wide in astonishment when you stood in the doorway.
“Yeah, um... You look…” He looked a little confused, his brow furrowed and lips pursed. “Why are you all dolled up? It’s only Ferg’s.” He wished he could’ve kicked himself in the teeth when your face fell at his question. He rubbed a hand over his face. “Shit. Let me try that again,” he nearly begged, running up to you to stop you from going back inside. “You look really nice, honey.” He ran his calloused hand up your forearm, but quickly returned it to his side when he realized what he’d done. “Is it a special occasion, though? Should I change?”
You gave him a watery smile, given that you were three seconds from slamming the door in his face and crying. “That’s better. Thank you.” You lightly pushed at his shoulder, trying and failing to ignore the electricity you felt at the contact. “No occasion, though. Just thought maybe it was about time I actually introduced myself to someone new.”
You couldn’t quite read his reaction. Little did you know he was certain he just felt his heart physically crack in his chest. “What do you mean?”
The two of you started walking, the tension between you thickening the very air you breathed. “Well, when you first invited me to Ferg’s, you said maybe I’d get to know some other people in the area, right? But we’re always with each other. I’m sure you’re itching to talk to someone other than me. I don’t want to hold you back.”
“Ah. Gotcha.” Frank abruptly reverted to the quiet, distant state he usually occupied before he met you. He sped up a bit, walking ahead of you and desperately attempting to school his features before you caught up with him.
Frank practically ran to the restroom, not slowing down even to hold the door open for you. You took a deep breath and rolled your shoulders, relaxing before entering the bar. Normally, whoever made it first would order drinks for you both, but Frank made it painfully clear that he had no desire to be in your company tonight. You ordered your usual, an Angry Orchard with a shot of Fireball in a tall glass. The combination tasted like apple cider, but the burn in your throat was caused by liquor rather than heat. It was strong enough to get you buzzed, but not so strong that you’d be stumbling home. You swallowed half the glass in one gulp, wanting to feel the warmth in your veins boosting your confidence as quickly as possible.
“Y/N? How are you?” You turned around, eyes meeting those of Jamie, your coworker. He leaned in for a hug and you accepted somewhat reluctantly, having interacted with him only in passing.
“Hey! I’m all right. What’s up?” You smiled at him, taking another sip of your drink. Jamie was not very subtly staring at your chest. You weren’t crazy about him, but the attention felt nice, so you allowed it.
“Not much. Just happy it’s Friday, ya know?” He looked around for a moment before returning his attention to you. “You’re usually here with that mechanic dude, right?”
You stifled a laugh thinking about how Frank would react if he heard himself referred to as “dude” by this prick. “Yeah, he’s around somewhere. We’re just-“
“-Just friends?” he finished for you with a hopeful look.
You nodded in response, looking him up and down. He was no Frank, but you couldn’t deny he was handsome. It had been so long since you’d even been kissed, and though you hated to admit it, you were touch-starved. One night couldn’t hurt, could it?
Meanwhile, Frank was splashing his face with cool water. He couldn’t believe he’d fucked up so royally. He was sure you didn’t want him how he wanted you, and now he was sure it was too late to tell you how he really felt.
He knew from the moment he saw you that he’d never get you out of his head. Roberta had been talking you up to Frank for weeks, but he wanted no part of it, mumbling something about there being “a reason why no one used matchmakers anymore.” He had no choice but to make your acquaintance when he was looking for Mary, and he’d never been so happy that Roberta could say she told him so.
Later that day at the beach, Mary approached him while you were dozing on a towel in the sand. She sat on his lap and reached for his face, using her pointer fingers to turn the straight line of his mouth up into a smile. “Roberta says you have a ‘charming’ smile, Frank. We think you should use it more.” He chuckled quietly, careful not to disturb you, and pulled Mary in close, planting a wet kiss on her cheek. She grimaced at the feeling, dramatically wiping at her face until he let her go back to reading with Fred.
The sound of the jukebox starting up cut short his reverie. He had to get out there and explain himself. Frank dried his face and hands with a paper towel before smacking his cheeks and stretching his neck back and forth to each shoulder.
Frank exited the restroom only to find some douchebag staring at your ass as you leaned over toward the bar. He saw red when the piece of shit held out his hand behind his back while his friend slipped a twenty-dollar bill into it, seemingly winning some sort of bet.
Jamie didn’t stand a chance when Frank stormed in between the two of you. “That’s IT,” he yelled, so intense he borderline bellowed. He threw whatever cash he had in his pocket on the bar to pay for your drinks before he pulled you outside, almost getting to your door while you fought against his grip. He only stopped when you spun your body around like something out of Dancing with the Stars and jumped in front of him, forcing him to catch you.
“Jesus Christ, Y/N, what are y-”
“-What are YOU doing, Frank? What the fuck was that?” You put your feet back down on the ground but remained facing him, arms crossed over your chest.
He groaned in frustration, suddenly realizing he actually had no clue how to respond. “Fuck.”
You looked at him, tapping your foot in anticipation.
“I didn’t like the way he was looking at you.” He rubbed at his temples in the way he did when he felt a headache coming on.
“And how was he looking at me, Frank? What does it matter to you?”
“He was looking at you like you were a piece of meat and I… FUCK!”
You both turned when your neighbor opened his window. “Can you kids keep it down out here?”
You waved bashfully at the old man. “Sorry, Mr. Parker,” you said in unison.
“Come inside, Frankie.” The nickname that typically made him roll his eyes at you never had sounded sweeter, now that its use confirmed you didn’t hate him for the scene he made. You both toed off your shoes at the door before you made your way into the living room, motioning for him to sit next to you on the couch when he tried to sit in the armchair across the room.
You leaned forward, pinching his chin between your thumb and forefinger. “Now what’s going on in that sun-damaged brain of yours?”
He let out a laugh so soft you almost missed it, but you were glad you didn’t. Sitting back against the arm of the couch, you pulled a pillow into your lap and hugged it, giving Frank your full attention.
Frank cleared his throat, doing his best to accept that it was now or never. “That guy was leering at you, and it pissed me off. You deserve better, Y/N.” He pried your fingers from where they were locked around the pillow to hold your hands in his.
“If you want to meet new people, that’s great. If you don’t want to be with me, that’s a little less great, but I’d understand. He didn’t even pay for your drinks. And I th-”
You covered his mouth with one of your hands, and he knitted his brows in confusion. “You’re making it sound like it’s an option to be with you.” You were in disbelief, side-eyeing him, waiting for Ashton Kutcher to announce that you were, in fact, being Punk’d.
The corners of his mouth lifted into the soft smile he reserved for you. It was the same one he gave you whether you were on a tangent about how “Obsessed” by Mariah Carey is “the single greatest diss track of all time” or you were helping Mary put a harness and leash on Fred “just to see how he’d do” on a walk.
“For a distinguished professor, you’re kind of a dummy, Frank.” You took his face in your hands, thrilled to be feeling his stubble against your palms. Before he could talk back to you, you kissed him, unsure how you denied yourselves such a simple yet extraordinary pleasure for so long. It only took a moment for him to relax into it, his hands removing the pillow between you before finding your waist and pulling you almost into his lap.
You deepened the kiss, threading your fingers through his hair. He pulled away first, pressing his forehead to yours. “Seems like we’re both dummies, huh?”
You were going to ask why pulled away until you looked down to see a considerable tent forming in the front of his jeans. You laughed as he pulled you into a tight hug, one arm wrapped around you while the other hand held your face against his neck.
You kissed the side of his neck softly before leaning back to look at him. “All this time? I thought you didn’t see me this way.” You held his face, stroking his cheeks with your thumbs. “You asked me to go to Ferg’s and then said I could meet other people, so I thought that was it, you know?”
He covered your hands with his and pecked your lips softly. “Honey, I thought it was the other way around. I was trying to ask you out and you looked like you’d seen a ghost.” You giggled, spluttering a bit because tears had started falling at some point. He wiped your tears away before swiping his thumb over your bottom lip, pulling it down a bit. “We’re fools, aren’t we?”
You nodded slowly and Frank saw something wicked flash in your eyes before you took his thumb in your mouth, sucking lightly. “Jesus, honey.” His length hardened underneath you and you could feel the wetness beginning to pool in your panties, prompting you to grind down into his lap.
You released his thumb from your mouth, pressing your chest into his before kissing him again. “I think we’re only fools if we don’t take advantage of the rest of your adult time.” You removed your dress easily, returning your hands to Frank’s shoulders to push off his shirt.
He surged forward to kiss you again, working magic with his tongue against yours. You wrapped your legs around his waist and he picked you up, walking you into the bedroom. Placing you on the bed carefully, he removed your bra and panties before pulling off his boxers and jeans in one go. You thought you wanted him before, but now that you could see everything he’d been hiding under his baggy clothes, you didn’t see how you could ever let him leave your bedroom.
The next few minutes were spent exploring each other’s mouths while Frank stretched you with his fingers. You didn’t think you’d ever been so wet in your life and thought you might pass out if you didn’t feel him inside you immediately. You gave his cock a few strokes before sliding his head through your folds, coating him in your slick.
“Waitwaitwait, honey. Do you have a condom?”
“You don’t need one if you don’t want one. It’s okay.”
He looked like you just gave him tomorrow’s winning lotto numbers, taking a deep breath to steady himself before he looked at you again. “Oh, God. Are you sure?”
“Mhm. I wanna feel you. Make me yours?”
“Anything you want, honey, but if you change your mind, just tell me, okay?” He lined himself up, seconds shy of entering you for the first time.
“I figured if you were gonna be possessive of me tonight, you might as well take it the whole nine, Frankie.” You laughed as he let out an exasperated sigh. “Seriously, though, I’m clean, I’m on the pill, and I’ve wanted you for a long time.” You reached up to scratch lightly through his chest hair.
“The only thing I wanna hear right now is you moaning for me.” He drove into you harshly, but waited a moment for you to adjust once he was seated to the hilt. “So damn wet and tight for me, honey. You’re so perfect, so beautiful.” He kissed you again before he began to move, slowly but surely making you lose your mind.
He dipped his head down to take one nipple in his mouth, then the other, effectively shutting you up and emptying all thoughts from your head. He nipped at the swell of your breast, soothing the bite with his tongue. “Fuck, Frank, please!”
“Please what, honey?” He picked up his pace, fucking into you so vigorously you moved up the bed. “Tell me what you need.”
“Make me cum, Frank. Please, baby, I need it. Need you,” you cried, leaning up to bite into his shoulder, stifling your moans.
“I wanna hear you, Y/N. I wanna hear those pretty moans while I’m making this perfect pussy cum for me.” The combination of his filthy words and the sight of him sucking on his own fingers before rubbing at your clit sent you over the edge, making you scream his name over and over again for what felt like forever and not long enough.
You could tell he was close, his hips stuttering and losing their rhythm. He began to pull out, unsure if you were willing to let him finish inside you, but knowing he was too close to wait for an answer.
You hooked your legs around his waist and pulled him close, pushing him back into you. “Fill me up, Frank. I wanna feel all of you. Please give it to me,” you whimpered. His release triggered another for you, chanting each other’s names surely loud enough for the neighbors to hear.
He stayed inside you as you both came down from your shared high, gingerly flipping you over so he laid on his back with you on his chest. He kissed the top of your head, fingers fluttering up and down your sides.
“What’s on your mind now, Frankie?” You looked up at him through your lashes, mildly terrified of the answer.
He looked down at you with the most adoration you’d ever seen, lifting your chin so your eyes met his in the moonlight. “That wasn’t too soon, was it? You mean so much to me and to Mary. I don’t wanna mess this up. I don’t ever wanna hurt you. You’re the best thing in my life besides Mary, you know that?”
You kissed his chest before looking back up at him, smiling. “First of all, I would argue that wasn’t soon enough.” He hissed as you clenched around his still softening cock inside you.
“You’re evil.”
Winking at him, you continued tracing patterns on his chest with your fingers. “Second, that all kinda sounds like you might be in love with me, Frank Adler.”
His hands stopped moving for a second before he responded. “Would you run away if I said I am?”
“Well, I wouldn’t run away. This is my house.” You thought your heart might explode in your chest.
“I didn’t even say it, but I take it back,” he huffed, throwing his arm over his eyes.
“What if I told you I felt the same way?”
He grinned, sitting up to kiss you feverishly on your cheeks, the tip of your nose, and finally your lips. You could feel him starting to harden again inside you, leading to round two of… well, you lost count.
You ate breakfast and showered together in time for Frank to return home before Mary did, agreeing to talk more later and to hold out on Roberta for a while.
Frank stood on your doorstep, leaning in to kiss you once more. All of a sudden, you heard a familiar meow and thanked God you were dressed and not in your robe.
“Frank, what are you doing here? I thought I’d come see Y/N since I’m not supposed to come home until noon.”
You bit your tongue to keep from cackling. Frank ran a hand over his face, his blissful bubble burst. He was getting you a hotel room next weekend.

It was a relief to drive through the main streets of Lebanon, Kansas after a hunt. It meant that all was well. Seeing the locals and driving past all their regular spots always centred Dean. It made him feel like he was back on familiar ground and he could breathe easier.
Dean smiled as he parked the Impala outside his favorite diner. He had dropped Sam off at the bunker and gone into town, but not to bring back food, as he always did. He closed the car door and leaned against it, crossing his arms across his chest as he waited. His smile widened as he spotted the reason he was there coming out of the diner.
Y/N smiled at him as she opened the door, carrying two large, white paper bags, no doubt filled with food. Her satchel hung over one shoulder, her uniform stuffed into it, having changed into a long, black summer dress with a floral print and flip-flops. Her Y/H/C hair was tied in a high ponytail, swishing side-to-side as she hurried over to him. When she reached him, he pulled her in by her hips and kissed her, feverishly. Her hands were full, but she leaned her forearms against his, wanting to feel his skin against hers.
“Hey” she whispered against his lips. “I missed you.”
“I missed you, too” he smirked as he leaned in and kissed her again. “Sorry it took so long to get back.”
“Yeah, well… those roaches aren’t gonna kill themselves” she laughed as she looked into his eyes.
Dean hated lying to her about pest control being his job that took him around the country, but it was the only way to keep her safe from the life he really lived.
She held up the bags and smiled. “Bacon cheeseburgers and fries, and two slices of pecan pie.”
“You really know the way to my heart, Y/N Y/L/N” he smirked.
“Sure do, Dean Campbell” she said, pecking his lips.
Yet another thing he felt guilty about: not being honest about his name. The whole town knew him and Sam as the Campbell brothers, the ones that kept to themselves but were incredibly friendly and willing to help out in any way they could, when they could. If only they knew just how much he and Sam had done for this town.
“We blowin’ this joint or what?” he asked, as he held onto her shoulders and led her over to the passenger side of the car.
“Yes, please” she replied, as she walked ahead of him. He opened the door for her and she smiled. “Such a gentleman” she said, winking at him as she sat in the passenger seat.
Tumblr media
Dean drove them to a clearing just outside of town, a place they considered theirs and had been to many times before. He always brought her here because it was away from prying eyes and countless questions if they stayed in town. He parked near a tree, the sun setting in the distance, glistening over the grass as the last few rays reflected off the blades. They got out of the car and Dean took out a blanket from the trunk, setting it down on the grass. Y/N sat down and folded her legs underneath her, opening the first bag as he settled down next to her.
“Thanks” he said, grinning as she handed him the wrapped burger and box of fries.
She watched as he dug in and hummed around a mouthful, laughing a little as he closed his eyes.
“Don’t judge” he mumbled around the bite, his cheeks bulging with burger.
She laughed again, leaning in and kissing his big cheek. “Never.”
They laughed and talked about random things as they ate, their conversation never sparking suspicions from her, which Dean was thankful for. As they talked, they both couldn’t help but remember how they met. He recalled how it was her first shift at the diner and she was completely lost, tripping over her own feet and landing straight into his arms as he launched himself out of his seat so that she didn’t fall flat on her face. One look into her Y/E/C eyes and he was done for. Y/N remembered staring up into his green orbs and seeing his perfect lips, wanting nothing more than to spend the rest of her days feeling them against hers.
By the end of that shift, he and Sam had eaten a free lunch and Dean had walked away with her number on a napkin.
That was nearly a year ago. In that time, Dean had been away so many times, sometimes spending weeks away because of hunt after hunt. She never questioned him, never doubted him and never accused him of anything. For all this, Dean knew he didn’t deserve her but was grateful all the same that he did have her.
However, he couldn’t help but feel that if things got more complicated with their Chuck situation, he would have to break it off with her. The last thing he needed was Chuck knowing about her. If he didn’t already.
After eating, Dean had laid back on the blanket, holding Y/N close to him as he gazed up at the stars. The sun had completely set over an hour ago, and they were basking in the light summer breeze that blew over them. Y/N’s head rested on his chest, her arm around his torso as she looked up at the sky.
“I wish we could stay like this forever” she said, softly. “I’d never let you leave” she let out a small laugh, not realizing how much that one sentence killed him.
He sighed heavily, the thoughts of what they were dealing with not leaving his mind.
“Penny for your thoughts?” she asked, moving her head to look up at him. The crinkles around his eyes were deep as his eyebrows were pulled tight into a frown.
He looked down at her, his face instantly relaxing as he looked into her eyes. “I’m pretty sure they’ll cost more than that.”
“Hey” she said, cupping his jaw. “Whatever it is… it’ll work out.”
He shook his head, closing his eyes. “How do you do that?”
“Do what?” she asked in return, stroking her thumb along his jaw.
“Just know what to say without knowing the full story” he replied, as he continued to look at her.
“It’s a gift” she joked but frowned when she noticed he didn’t let out even a small chuckle. He sat up, his back to her as he stared up at the sky. Y/N sat up and scooted closer to him, trying to look at him as he turned his face away.
“Dean” she whispered as she cupped his jaw and slowly turned his face to look at her.
“I guess I’m just trying to figure out how you can trust me so easily, without knowing about my life” he lamented, shaking his head. It had always baffled him how she took everything in and didn’t question it. Not once.
“Because I don’t need to know about it” she said, shrugging. “I know your heart. I know you’re a good person. I feel it. That’s all I need to know.”
He smiled softly, shaking his head as he marvelled at the fact that she could be so open and trusting. He wished he could be like that with people other than her and Sam.
Dean leaned in and kissed her, passionately, lifting his hands to cup her cheeks. He deepened the kiss, humming at the taste of pecan and cinnamon on her tongue, feeling her hands move into his hair and her fingernails lightly scrape his scalp. She moved her hands down to his shoulders, lightly pushing him back to lie down as she slowly straddled his hips, her legs on either side of him. She leaned down and pressed herself into him, the kiss growing more eager. His hands travelled up and down her back, moving down her thighs and slowly lifting up the skirt of her dress. He pressed his hands to her smooth skin, warm against his palms. Her hips began to roll into his, slowly. She hummed against his lips as she felt his jeans begin to tighten, against her core.
Y/N continued to roll her hips against Dean’s, feeling her arousal grow and wet her lacy panties. She continued to move her hips, feeling Dean’s cock strain against the fabric of his jeans. She sat up; her palms pressed into his chest as she smiled down at him. Her hands moved down and her left one began to rub his hard on through his pants. She watched him bite his lip and smiled, both hands working to open his jeans. Once she had taken his belt off and undid his jeans, she sat up slightly and pulled them down to below his knees, doing the same with his boxers, seeing his hard cock spring free. She grinned mischievously as she slid her covered pussy back and forth against his cock, the fabric of her panties against his skin.
“Shit” he gasped, feeling the sensation of the lace against his hard on.
Dean reached down and lifted up the skirt of her dress, moving it to the side to see her black panties. He hooked a finger into the fabric and pulled it aside, biting his bottom lip as he saw her. He moved his thumb against the folds, feeling her wetness. She let out a small whimper as his thumb brushed against her clit, slowly circling it.
“Shit, Dean” she gasped, as his thumb picked up the pace a little. She softly grasped his cock in her hand and held it against her, rubbing the head against her folds. “Fuck.”
“Fuck, Y/N” he muttered as he watched what she was doing.
He took a hold of his cock, a cue to her to sit up, holding the head to her entrance. Dean moved his hand away as she slowly sank down, his cock buried completely within her. She moaned loudly, knowing there was no one around for miles. She began to rock back and forth slowly, humming when he grabbed her hips, his thumbs stroking her hip bones.
“Fuck” she gasped, as she pressed her hands into his covered chest, smiling down at him. “I missed feeling you inside me.”
“Shit, sweetheart… I missed being inside you” he agreed, as he began to move her hips a little faster.
She threw her head and moaned wantonly, meeting him thrust for thrust as she picked up the pace. “Don’t… don’t leave me again.”
Dean closed his eyes, trying not to let her see how affected he was by what she just said. He sat up and pulled her close, pulling down the front of her dress and the cups of her bra. He leaned down and kissed her breasts, her hands coming to the back his head to pull him closer. She moaned as he kissed and sucked at her nipples, pebbled from his ministrations and the breeze blowing around them. She thrusted down harder and faster, the moment far too overpowering.
“Dean” she said, moving his head to look into his eyes. “I’m so close.”
“Me too, sweetheart. I want you to cum with me” he groaned as he looked at her.
She grinded her hips down against his, feeling the coil in her core begin to tighten. Dean cupped her face, making her look him directly in the eyes.
“Look at me” he said, staring at her. “Look at me when you cum on my cock.”
She gripped his wrists tightly, looking at him with hooded eyes as her mouth curved into an ‘o’ as the pressure grew.
Their thrusts became erratic, as she felt everything build up. Suddenly, as they looked into each other’s eyes, the coil in her belly snapped, causing a loud, drawn out moan to leave her lips as her juices flowed down his cock. Dean let out a strangled moan as he stared into her eyes, cumming deep inside of her, coating her walls with his release.
They pulled each other in, hugging tight as they breathed heavily. Dean leaned his forehead on her shoulder, as she combed her hands through his hair. Neither of them wanting to let go of each other or the moment. Dean didn’t want to let go because then he would have to face the reality of everything he felt guilty for. Y/N didn’t want to let go because she feared if she did, he’d leave again, with no certainty of when he’d be back. She wanted to remember this moment and remember them this way. Together. Always.
They took a few moments to stay the way they were, before they redressed, packed up and left for her house. The car ride was quiet, holding a peace between them that they only felt with each other. They made love in her bed, making up for lost time and hoping that it would be a long time before they would have to separate again.
However, as Y/N fell asleep in his arms, Dean stared up at the ceiling if her bedroom. He knew the reality. He knew what he had to do to keep her safe as their situation with Chuck grew more dire.
He just wished he didn’t have to.
Tumblr media
Dean woke up before her even though he had only slept for a few hours. He watched her for a few moments, a content, small smile on her face as she slept, her breath even. He slowly got out of bed, careful not to move too harshly and jolt her awake. He stood up and put his boxers on, going in search of his phone. His jeans had fallen at the foot of the bed and he picked them up, taking out his phone from the front pocket.
He looked at the lock screen, seeing a couple of missed calls and a message from Sam.
Didn’t want to bother you when you’re with Y/N but Cas has a lead on Chuck. Wants us to meet him in Colorado. Get back to the bunker soon, we can go over the plan.
Dean frowned. He had wished he had more time before they got something on Chuck, so that he could spend time with Y/N. He knew that was too good to be true.
“You’re up early” he heard her voice behind him.
He turned around, seeing her sitting up in bed, holding the sheet to her naked body. She rubbed her eyes and smiled at him, looking even more beautiful in the morning sun that filtered through the window.
“Yeah” he sighed, his voice betraying him, not being able to say anything else.
Dean watched as she wrapped a robe around herself and walked into the kitchen, getting the coffee started. As he dressed, he didn’t know how to begin to tell her he couldn’t stay for coffee. He couldn’t stay for a few more hours. He probably wouldn’t be back any time soon.
He may not come back at all.
Dean continued to watch her as he stood at the end of the kitchen bench, dressed and ready to leave. He didn’t know how to find the strength to tell her what he needed to. It was only going to break her heart and he didn’t know if he could live with that. However, breaking her heart was better than her being dead. Which she would be if Chuck ever found her.
“Just how you like it” she smiled as she brought over a mug of hot black coffee to him. She looked at him, not knowing what was about to happen. He wished he could keep it that way, that he didn’t have to say anything.
“I can’t stay” he said, clearing his throat of the roughness that had occurred due to his emotions. “Something’s come up. I gotta go.”
“Oh” she said, surprised and hiding her disappointment quite well. “When… when will you be back?”
Dean shook his head, wishing she hadn’t asked that. “I don’t know.”
She frowned, confused. “But… but you just got here.”
“I know, Y/N, but I have to go” he told her, slowly grasping her hand on the kitchen bench.
“Can’t someone else go?” she asked, shaking her head. Her voice was starting to shake as she tried to keep it together.
Dean smiled sadly. “I wish.”
“Why… why do I get the feeling this isn’t about a pest control job?” she asked, showing doubt in him for the first time since he met her.
“I’m sorry” he said, knowing any way he answered her question wouldn’t help her.
“You really don’t know when you’ll be back?” she asked, her voice small, not trusting it to speak any louder.
Dean felt that invisible hole within him become bigger, the guilt eating at him. “Y/N, I… I might not be coming back. At all.”
She flinched as she looked at him, pulling her hand away. “What?” She felt pieces of her heart beginning to flake off the longer she talked to him.
His jaw clenched, trying to keep himself together. “I might not be coming back to Lebanon.”
He didn’t want to do this to her but if something were to happen on this mission, he didn’t want to leave her with false hope that he would be coming back.
“So… so what does that mean?” she wondered, her eyes welling up.
He wanted nothing more than to take her in his arms and never leave, but he couldn’t. He had a job and responsibility. That had to come first. He couldn’t be selfish anymore. No matter how much he wanted to be.
Dean shook his head, not being able to say anything, hoping that gesture would be enough. Y/N felt a clenching in her chest, her heart no doubt breaking at the realization of what Dean meant. How, after a year of being each other’s rock, could it all be over?
Y/N felt Dean move in closer to her, leaning in to kiss her cheek. She shook her head, desperately grasping his jaw in her hands and kissing him hard. It was bruising and painful as they roughly kissed, pulling and biting, but it was a sign that neither wanted to let go. Tears ran down her cheeks as she kissed him, faltering as sobs took over her body. Dean pulled away from the kiss and held her against him as she cried. He leaned his chin on her head, his heart breaking as he listened to her crying.
“I…” she gasped, not being able to breathe. “I-I t-told you not to leave” she cried, shaking her head against his chest.
“I don’t want to” he whispered, his emotions getting the better of him too, as a tear rolled down his cheek.
“Then don’t” she sobbed. “Please.”
He shook his head, closing his eyes. “I can’t do that, Y/N. I’m sorry. I’m doing this to keep you safe.”
“I don’t understand” she said, looking up at him with her tear-stained face close to his.
He knew that she wouldn’t, but he had to say it all the same.
“I… I have to go” he said, cupping her cheeks. “I’m so sorry, sweetheart.”
“I…” she trailed off, not being able to say it. She knew it would break them both if she did.
“I know” he whispered, smiling at her through his sadness. “Me too.”
Dean leaned in, softly kissing her lips. It was passionate, loving and held everything he felt for her without saying it. He reluctantly pulled away, quickly walking away. He walked to her front door and opened it, not turning back to look at her. If he did, he’d give in and stay.
“Hey” she called out from the threshold.
Dean turned around, seeing her looking more vulnerable than he had ever seen her.
“Yeah?” he asked, his voice gravelly.
“Nothing, I just…” she smiled, shaking her head. “I just wanted to take another look at you.”
Dean smirked sadly, pushing down what he was feeling in that moment as best as he could. Every fibre of his being wanted to walk up to her and take her in his arms. Stay with her and never leave… but he couldn’t. He turned around and walked to the Impala, getting in and starting up the car. From the corner of his eye, he could see Y/N still standing on her porch, watching him. He started the engine, revving loudly as he pulled away from the house, tires screeching loudly and no doubt waking up her neighbors as he backed out and accelerated forward, speeding away from the house.
Y/N watched as Dean sped away, tears falling down her face as she continued to look out at the street, even after he had disappeared. She wiped her face and steeled herself, turning and walking back into her house. She shut the door behind her, as she went onto going about her day, as normal as possible.
She knew she had to shut down and stop herself from feeling the pain. It was better that way.
Tumblr media
As Dean drove back to the bunker, his mind reeled. Had he made the right decision? Maybe he should’ve told Y/N the truth. Would she have accepted it and him? What would it mean for her fate if she knew?
He suddenly felt overwhelmed, his hands numb around the steering wheel. He pulled off to the side of the road, not being able to continue driving. He gripped the steering wheel tighter as he leaned forward, breathing erratic as everything took over at the same time. All the sadness. All the guilt.
He slammed his hands down on the steering wheel repeatedly, kicking the door open as he got out, leaning his hands on top of the car when he stood. He hung his head, trying to take deep breaths of the fresh air of the early morning. He closed his eyes, feeling the tears roll down his face. He wiped them away roughly, but more kept coming. He clenched his fists as memories of Y/N flooded his mind, the emotional weight of everything taking over him.
As he stood on the side of the road, trying to keep calm but failing, his phone buzzed in his pocket. It was most likely Sam, calling to find out where he was.
However, he ignored it as he quietly cried, his forehead resting against the cool metal of his beloved Baby.
His memories of Y/N were all he could think about as the weight of his mistake consumed him.

Adventures in Jedi-Sitting
Okay guys, look, I’m sorry about this.
This is my first original post, so I hope you like it! This was supposed to be a response to a star wars post about a slice-of-life show (that I know I’ve reblogged before), but Tumblr just wouldn’t reblog it. And besides, it was long enough anyway, so, I made it into my own post! This is like the first thing I’ve properly, actually, physically written, so I’m sorry (and I’d really appreciate some feedback on it)! I just got into a flow, and I really think an “Adventures in Babysitting” episode would be awesome, because, who doesn’t need to see Cody and Rex dying inside over watching a bunch of little Jedi kids? It’s not very refined, and I haven’t worked out EVERY detail yet, so if you have any ideas for one of the things I’ve left vague or not really explained, feel free to comment or reblog (or message me, I don’t know how Tumblr works lol). Anyway, I hope you like it, this took me like 3-4 hours to write :)
 Warning: It’s kinda long-ish. That’s it. Enjoy! :D
Okay, so it starts like this...
Anakin or Obi-wan have been assigned to look after younglings for a day, and are taking them on a “field trip” of some kind, possibly an educational one. I’m kinda thinking they’ll stay near/on Coruscant maybe? Idk. And like for some reason they bring Cody and Rex, maybe just as a safeguard or something, or as an extra pair of adults so that the two MatureTM Jedi aren’t outnumbered vastly by smol Jedi.
But then something comes up, and Anakin and Obi-wan are needed somewhere because of an emergency. They don’t want to leave the kids, but they don’t have enough time to bring the kids back to the temple. Then Cody proposes, “We could watch them, sirs.” and Obi-wan looks skeptical, as does Anakin, but Rex agrees with Cody and says, “oh go on sirs, we’ll be fine, they’re just a bunch of kids.” And Obi-wan and Anakin share a dubious look because “just a bunch of kids” with Force powers could be more of an issue than even the two most capable clones people they know can handle. And these kids are pretty young, too, but still really powerful, and there’s no back up, just the two of them. But they reassure the Jedi that they’ll be fine and it’ll be a good experience. At one point Rex is like, “Really, we’ve got this. I mean, we’ve had enough experience looking after the two of you,” and they finally get the two to give in (it was an emergency after all, so time is of the essence).
And once the Jedi are gone, the chaos fun begins.
It starts of smoothly enough, but then they can’t find one of the kids when they go to give them healthy snacks (provided by the Temple), and it all goes downhill from there. Chaos ensues, and one of the kids lifts Rex and Cody into the air, who watch helplessly as the kids start grabbing all the sugary snacks they can find and escape. Cody’s like “We... should probably call the Generals” but Rex is like “No! We can do this, besides, they’re busy.” They eventually get dropped once the kids are far enough away, and now they’re frantically looking for a little group of extremely small, Force-sensitive children, and Cody’s just like “can we call them NOW!?” and Rex is like “No! And see, there they are!” and they have to get the kids out of some tight spot, but while defending the kids they run off again and steal a speeder, and they’re all working together to drive it. They nearly get away, but Rex and Cody realize they’re gone - “Hey, where’d they go NOW?” - and manage to catch them, almost getting run over then dropped off the speeder in the process.
*cut to a battle scene with Obi-wan and Anakin fighting some droids side by side*
O: Do you think Rex and Cody are doing all right with the kids?
A: I’m sure they’re fine.
*cut back to Rex and Cody, screaming and holding onto the back of the speeder for dear life, trying not to fall off, while the kids are driving too fast the wrong way, head on into rush-hour traffic*
Cody’s like “WE SHOULD HAVE CALLED THE GENERALS!!!” and Rex is like “THIS WAS YOUR IDEA CODY! AND BESIDES, WE’RE FINE! THE GENERALS TRUSTED US SO WE HAVE TO DO THIS OURSELVES!” and Cody’s all like “THIS IS SOOO NOT FINE” but they manage to get back into the speeder. Unfortunately, Anakin picks this perfect moment to check in on Rex to see how they’re doing. Rex and Cody are panicking because “We can’t answer that NOW!” but they also can’t not answer it either, so Rex just kinda motions for Cody to take the steering away from the kids and he answers the comm.
And Anakin’s like “Hey Rex, how’s it going with the kids?” And Rex is watching Cody trying to wrestle with the steering as one of the more stubborn kids uses the Force to keep driving, and he’s like “Everything’s going great, sir.” Anakin’s like “They aren’t giving you too much trouble are they? Those ones were supposed to be a particularly rowdy bunch.” Rex nearly drops the comm while lunging to grab a kid who, now bored, is trying to climb out the sides of the speeder, and he’s like “No sir, no trouble. They’re practically perfect little angels.” Personally, Rex decides this is more stressful than some battles he’s been in, though Cody swerving the vehicle while trying to get back to the right side of traffic feels familiar enough. Anakin’s voice comes back over the comm. “Well, Obi-wan and I are just about finished here, so we’ll be on our way back as soon as we notify the locals that their Separatist problem has been dealt with.” Rex has a fresh wave of panic wash over him, but he manages a “Very good sir, can’t wait to see you.” That’s partly true, as he’s very ready to return custody of the kids to Anakin. But just as he’s responding, Cody swerves to avoid another vehicle, which honks loudly, and the kids all laugh and cheer. Anakin sounds suspicious when he asks “Rex... what was that?” And Rex just dies. “U-uh, nothing sir. Just playing a game with them sir. Uh, got another call coming in sir, sorry sir, glad the mission went, well, can’t wait to see you!” Anakin’s like “Rex-” but Rex keys off the comm and turns to Cody, who’s gotten them back in the right lane at last. “Cody, the Generals are coming back and we have NO IDEA WHAT WE”RE DOING!” Cody’s like “I TOLD you we should’ve called someone!” And Rex gets an idea. He swoops to grab another kid, then keys back on the comm and makes the call.
When they get the speeder back to wherever their starting place had been, Ahsoka’s already there, waiting by her speeder-bike. She may not be part of the Order anymore, but Rex still calls her for advice every once in a while, and even just to say hi. They park the speeder and she walks over, shaking her head. Cody’s like, “Thank you for coming to help, General,” and she can see he really means it. The kids are still in the speeder, mostly piled on Rex, who looks at her and mouths “HELP”. She grins and says, “Rex sounded desperate, and by the looks of it, you definitely needed some help. How did you two even get in this mess?” She picks up two of the kids, and Cody picks up two more, unburying Rex enough to get out to help the last three. Rex sighs and says “It’s a long story...”
So they explain to Ahsoka what they did while she shakes her head at some parts, and she helps them set the kids back in the main area of the compound where they started. “You really let them eat (insert alternative to candy here)? That’s your first mistake.” and Rex (indignantly) says “We didn’t LET them do anything! They picked us up and floated us to the ceiling and then took the stuff themselves!” and Ahsoka’s laughing, but so are Rex and Cody and they’re watching the kids playing together and they realize they seriously like these kids.
By the time they’ve finished their tale (”...then we were back here, and, well, you know the rest.”), the kids are all tired out, and Ahsoka helps tuck them into their little rest nooks in the compound’s wall. Rex is just like, “how do you do this?” and she’s like “First: I’ve dealt with younglings before, and second: they’re just kids. There IS more to life than the war. When it’s over, life’ll go back to normal.” She grins at him, and says “It’ll be fine Rex. Besides, it’ll get easier as they get older. They lose most of this chaotic energy eventually.” Rex grins back and says, “What, like you?” and they’re laughing again, but quietly because the kids are still sleeping. Rex thinks of Cut’s family, and finds himself wondering about after the war, and if he could babysit Cut’s kids... Ahsoka walks to the door and stops, looking back as Cody and Rex follow her. “I should probably get out of here before Anakin and Obi-wan get back, and besides, the owner of this speeder will probably be wanting it back. We don’t want you two getting arrested, after all.” They both thank her as she takes the speeder back to its owner, her bike attached to the side, and they both wave as she disappears from sight.
About a minute later, they hear the sounds of a small ship landing outside, and are greeted momentarily by Obi-wan and Anakin. Obi-wan looks skeptical as he enters, glancing around the main room suspiciously. “The two of you survived!” Anakin says, grinning. “We did sir,” Rex says tiredly. It’s been a very long day. “The children weren’t too much trouble, I hope?” Obi-wan asks. “Oh no sir, they were fine,” Cody replies. “They were downright peaceful, for kids. Or Jedi for that matter. Easier than taking out a row of clankers.” Obi-wan and Anakin trade a dubious look, but they thankfully don’t mention the sounds they heard over Rex’s comm. “Well, I’m glad to hear that Cody. But, um...” he trails off, and the two clones feel their hopes sinking. Here it comes, they both think. “It’s very quiet in here, and I daresay a little too quiet. Where are the children?” Obi-wan asks. He sounds a little worried, and Anakin’s grin slips a little as he realizes the same thing. Rex and Cody both relax though. Relieved, Cody replies .“They’re sleeping sir.” Obi-wan’s eyebrows go up. “Sleeping?” Cody points down the hall behind them to the room with the sleeping nooks, and the two Jedi go and poke their heads in to find 7 little Jedi, tucked in and fast asleep. Obi-wan’s smiling as he walks back to them, and he says “I don’t know how you did it, but I’m very impressed, you two.” Both Rex and Cody practically glow with that, and they both say “Thank you sir” in unison, then smile at each other. “Wow,” Anakin remarks, “you both look really worn out though.” Cody can only nod, while Rex manages a “Yes sir.” Obi-wan and Anakin look at each other, then come to a silent agreement. “Sleepover!” Anakin yells, pumping his fist. They all shush him, and he looks apologetic as he whisper-shouts “Sleepover!” Both clones fall asleep where they’re sitting within two minutes, a small “Thank you sirs” coming from both of them. They look like they’re guarding the children, and Obi-wan and Anakin think it’s a very heartwarming sight. The two Jedi bring in extra blankets and pillows from the ship, and they make their friends comfortable before falling asleep themselves, the kids still snoring in the other room.
As they disembark from the ship the next morning, tiny Jedi troublemakers swarming around their legs, Cody and Rex feel a mix of relief and regret. Relief, because they won’t have to chase them all over Coruscant anymore, having panic attacks of every kind while trying to cause as little damage as possible and protect their tiny fragile lives. Regret, because they’ll miss the little troublemakers (no matter how hard they try to convince themselves they won’t). While their Generals are speaking to the Jedi usually in charge of the children, Rex thinks about how the last 24 hours compares to following Anakin with the rest of the 501st. He was struck by how similar their adventure was to an average day with the older Jedi, following them into dangerous situations, protecting them and doing as little damage as possible, as well as cleaning up the mess afterwards. Even calling in reinforcements was a familiar move, and he found himself smiling at the thought of these tiny Jedi leading a group of clones into battle. He also found himself fervently hoping that the war was over before they had to face that, but he swore that he’d follow them into battle himself if it meant he could protect them. They all swarmed him and Cody for hugs, and they once again found themselves buried in a pile of kids, before they ran off back to the adults, calling out “Bye! Bye!” as they ran. Obi-wan and Anakin walked back towards them and boarded the ship, having finished their conversation, and Rex and Cody followed them. Rex paused at the top of the ramp though, and turned to look back. The kids were still calling out their goodbyes as they disappeared into the temple, and they waved to him. He waved back to them, and heard Anakin call “Rex!”
And as the ramp closed behind him, he knew that they would turn out to be amazing Jedi indeed.

I also imagine that despite some culture shock, Willow and Amity fit into the human world surprisingly well. Willow's more mellow demeanor and Amity's years of experience in high social culture mean they can fit in well in almost any social setting. Almost too well, after a while it starts to get to Luz since it seems like her witch girlfriends from another dimension do a better job fitting in than she ever did. Cue Luz needing extra love and cuddles
Bruh are you trying to get me to relive my high school existential depression??? Cuz I’m about to lol. (Damn it this is another long one, fuck, why can’t I just answer a question with little blurbs???????)
[tw: for descriptions of bullying, a panic attack and general depressive thought processes]
</3 :’)
Let’s say this excursion to the Human Realm is like a week-long vacation for our girls. They stay with Camila and Luz gets to spend time with her favorite girls and show off the stuff she grew up with. She’s so excited to share all the stuff she loves!!! Like how the trees don’t actually watch you and you typically don’t need to worry about critters attacking you when you walk by. And like. 99% of the things aren’t thinking about eating you. Oh, and just electricity and technology in general.
They come up with their cover story fairly easily (Luz’s girlfriends from another country that are visiting), figure out an easy illusion spell to hide Amity and Willow’s ears, and they’re off to the races. Luz takes them to her favorite after school snack spot, her favorite locally-owned book store (there’s a cat there named Miss Mittens that sunbathes in the display window), her favorite park, etc.
Willow and Amity are having so much fun too; they love learning about the Human Realm, but they love seeing where Luz grew up even more because her whole face lights up when she’s telling them about wherever they are. The first time a truck rolls by (one of those biiigg 18-wheeler delivery trucks) they both nearly scream and are so close to casting something to protect themselves, but Luz reassures them that it’s fine.
For the most part, they just have fun!! Luz couldn’t be happier. There’s something fun about being almost like an ambassador to the people you care about; you get to share so much information and see their wonder and amazement. That is, until Willow decides to walk up to a counter at a shop and ask the clerk about something. Luz doesn’t understand the weird twinge in her heart when Willow does this, but it’s quickly brushed away when Amity grabs her hand to get her attention and ask about something else.
Then the Mall Incident happens. And Luz is shaken. She never forgot about her old bullies but she did forget how much even being around them sent her into a mild state of panic. Sure, she had classes with them all the time, but they couldn’t always be bullying her. They never were as aggressive with their bullying as Boscha had been before that Grudgby match. But that doesn’t stop Luz from shaking slightly for the rest of their time at the mall. She brushes it off when Amity and Willow ask, yeah it was kind of a shock to run into them, but she’ll be fine.
When they get home Willow and Amity know she’s not fine. It was like if Luz was a candle, she’d been snuffed out and they were only seeing the remaining wisps of smoke. It was jarring to say the least, but after talking it out with Luz and smothering her in affection, Luz does feel better.
As their little Human Realm excursion goes on, Luz watches Willow and Amity interact with the Human world with relative ease and that same twinge in her heart is back. She doesn’t know why she feels so odd about seeing her girlfriends just talk with store clerks or restaurant waitstaff, but something about the whole situation is bothering her and she can’t put her finger on what.
That is until one night towards the end of their little vacation when Willow wakes up at like, 2 in the morning to the sound of sniffling (she and Amity are sharing a blow-up mattress in Luz’s room). The alarm bells go off in her head as she registers what the noise is and looks over at Amity only to see that she’s fast asleep. Which means Luz is crying. Willow gently shakes Amity awake before sitting up and checking to make sure she didn’t mishear anything, but her heart only breaks with what she’s able to see.
Luz is curled up in a tight ball, completely surrounded in her blankets, and shaking so hard Willow could’ve mistaken it for a seizure if she hadn’t heard her crying. Willow scrambles onto Luz’s bed and gently drapes herself over Luz’s shaking form, only to hesitate when Luz almost violently recoils at her touch. Amity is quick to join them on the bed once she’s woken up enough to see that something was wrong. Both girls quietly ask Luz what they can do to help her, but her crying only becomes harsher and she starts shaking her head and pounding her hands to her forehead. Willow has to forcibly hold her hands away to make her stop while Amity fetches Camila.
Camila comes rushing in and turns on the light and just starts muttering in Spanish under her breath and she takes Luz into her arms and holds her, just gently rocking her and running her fingers through her hair and still muttering quiet Spanish. Willow and Amity can only watch, grabbing each other’s hands for any amount of stability because their hearts are shattering at the sight of their girlfriend crying so hard.
After a while, Luz’s crying dies down, but her shaking doesn’t. Camila sighs and asks Amity and Willow if they’d like to sleep in her room for the night, to which they both immediately reject. They want to know what’s going on with Luz and how they can help. They’re terrified for their girlfriend and want to do anything they can to help her. Camila feels her own heart melt at that because wow, these girls really do love Luz.
So she asks them instead if they would like to bring their blankets downstairs to the living room and get set up on the couch while she takes care of Luz. Amity and Willow are reluctant to leave Luz, but this is her mom. If anyone knows how to help her, it’s Camila. So they quietly agree and gather up their pillows and blankets and head downstairs and talk quietly on the couch, holding each other’s hands, going over what could’ve possibly caused Luz to break down in the middle of the night.
Meanwhile, Camila manages to ease Luz into letting go of the death-grip hug she has on her and sit up enough for her to wipe the tears from Luz’s face and ask her what’s wrong. Luz almost starts crying again; it hurts her so much to think about. Not to mention, it’s a dumb fear that she knows shouldn’t bother her but it’s scaring her half to death anyway. Camila just waits for Luz to gather her thoughts, gently fussing over her hair and straightening out her rumpled pajamas until Luz is ready to speak.
Luz admits to her mom that she’s scared of losing Willow and Amity. She tells her about the run in with her old bullies at the mall and what they said about her finding people that “tolerate her existence” and how that hit harder and deeper than it should have. How she can still hear the taunts in her head; about how she probably lied to them in order for them to even bother looking her way or that maybe they were just actresses Luz had hired to make her feel like she was worthy of having a girl on each arm. She knows that shouldn’t bother her because she knows Willow and Amity care about her, she knows none of that is true even in the slightest.
But then she watched them ease seamlessly into navigating the Human Realm and she remembers how long it took for her to even begin to understand the nuances of the Demon Realm and it sort of dawned on her how easily she could be left behind. It would be so easy for them to be able to figure out how the Human world works and to go off on their own adventure together; they’re both ridiculously smart and they have each other, what’s Luz but a tour guide that talks too much? And now they’ve been seen with her in public and if they ever did want to explore more of the human world, they would need to go out of town so they wouldn’t be known as Little Luz-er Noceda’s Fake Girlfriends.
Not to mention that back in the Demon Realm, they’re both known to be smart and powerful witches. Luz still gets odd looks thrown her way as she walks into a new place in the Demon Realm because she’s a Human and Humans Can’t Do Magic. Why would these two beautiful, talented, powerful witches want to be seen with Luz the Human? No matter what world she’s in, Willow and Amity are out of her league and she fears that one day they’ll realize this and just leave her behind.
Camila is absolutely heartbroken at this (and makes a mental note to reach out to that girl’s parents; two years have gone by and their child is still as nasty as ever). She reassures Luz that Willow and Amity care about her so much. She’s seen the way those girls look at Luz when they think she’s not looking and they are so beyond smitten with her. And Camilla’s long since gotten to know these girls. She knows they’re absolute angels with hearts of gold (and would probably die and/or kill for Luz, but that’s a thought Camila keeps sealed away in the darkest corners of her mind). There’s no way either of them think that way and would never leave Luz thinking they were some how better than her or too good for her.
Camila also gently reprimands her for not making these fears known sooner; a whole panic attack could’ve been avoided if Luz had brought this up earlier. Luz finally smiles and admits she went down a sort of intense depressive spiral when they all went to bed earlier that night. She’d been feeling off all week but hadn’t figured out why until it was too late. Camila tells her to go downstairs and talk with her girls; she needs to explain what caused her to have such a fierce panic attack in the middle of the night because they are worried sick. Luz gives her mom a hug and mutters her thanks before she grabs a blanket off her bed and heads downstairs. Camila follows her downstairs but goes to the kitchen instead to start some tea (and maybe check her phone to see if Eda’s up 👀).
When Luz finally comes downstairs, Willow and Amity jump off the couch and approach her to hug her, but remember how badly she reacted earlier and keep their distance while they ask her if she was okay. Just seeing her girlfriends look so worried over her well-being is enough to make Luz’s heart squeeze and she just throws her arms around the both of them and hugs them tightly. They all just stand there quietly for a minute; Willow and Amity are relieved to see Luz is okay enough to be giving them a hug, but they’re still worried about what happened. Eventually Luz pulls away and they all sit down (Luz is sandwiched between her girls and playing with their hands; it’s their go-to comfort seating arrangement) and Luz explains everything she had just explained to her mom.
By the time Luz is done with her explanation, Camila’s bringing out the tea for the girls. She sets down the tray for them and plants a big kiss on Luz’s head and tells her that she’s going to go back to bed, they just need to come get her if they need her. She also gives Willow and Amity big kisses on their heads that makes them all giggle and blush before they all wish her goodnight.
They spend a while going over each of Luz’s fears one by one, reassuring Luz that those fears have no power to them because there’s no way in any realm they’d let something like that happen. They both reassure her of how much they adore her, how much they love her (and both make sure to leave plenty of kisses on her cheeks in between said reassurances), and how nothing would ever change that.
Not to mention her last fear. Amity and Willow out of Luz’s league?? Too out of league for the girl who broke into and out of the Conformitorium twice, who defeated a Puppeteer Demon on her second day on Boiling Isles, who not only get Willow an A+ in a magic track she wasn’t good in but also switched into her magic track specialty on her 5th day on the Boiling Isles; who rediscovered an ancient, long-lost method of performing magic within her first week, while ALSO dealing with an Owl Beast Eda-
And that’s just her first week of living in their Realm. Since then she’s disrupted and completely changed the rigid learning system of their school, defeated several monsters, including the Bat Queen, a Slitherbeast, and GROM, put Boscha of all people so in her place that she’s since sat back and re-examined her entire life, and went face-to-face with Emperor Belos and managed to land a hit on him. Yknow, all within the first month and a half of her living on the Boiling Isles. (With more to add as the show goes on I’m sure)
If anyone is out of anyone’s league, Luz is so far beyond everyone that there was a new level created just for her. It doesn’t matter what some air head bully from the Human Realm thinks of her; she’s literally revolutionized life on the Boiling Isles by simply being the bright, passionate, loving person she is.
Luz is definitely crying by the time they’re done listing everything she’s accomplished. Amity and Willow just snuggle up close to her, kissing her face and her head and maybe her shoulder every so often as they reassure her that they love and admire Luz for who she is and can’t even begin to imagine their lives without her. She never ever needs to worry about them somehow leaving her behind when she’s the one leading the way.
They all end up falling asleep on the couch snuggled up with one another and empty mugs of tea on the coffee table. Camila wakes back up a few hours later and shakes her head at the sight of them; they’re all going to have sore necks when they wake up. But she takes several pictures of them and sends the best ones to Eda. Eda replies almost immediately, informing her of the bet she has going with Lilith and King about how soon after they graduate they all propose to one another and asks her if she wants in on the betting pool. She also comments on how sickeningly sweet those girls are and how she’s about to go puke her guts up and definitely NOT make one of those pictures her scroll background.

TW: a little talk of war, angst, fluff(ish)
Word Count: 1738
A/N: Soooo I’m enjoying writing this tremendously and this all kinda just spilled out of me at like midnight but I like it so I’m giving it to you peoples. Hopefully you lot enjoy it! I can already tell that I’m gonna cry while writing chapter 3 lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It had been almost a month since Rosie met James and he went overseas. She hadn’t heard from him after that first day and she was starting to think maybe she never would. She was just a stranger after all, a nobody.
When she woke for work early this morning, she went about her normal routine. Taking a quick shower, before doing her hair, putting on a touch of makeup, and slipping into her uniform dress and apron. She checked her mailbox as she left the apartment like she had been since that day. But unlike everyday before, there was a letter waiting for her, with messily scribbled words scrawled across the front she could make out her address and that of an army camp from England.
Rosie audibly gasped at the sight. She had lost hope last week of ever getting a letter from James, assuming he had just forgotten about her, but here it was.
She quickly tore open the seal and pulled the worn piece of paper from the envelope.
Dear Rosie,
I’m sorry I didn’t write to you sooner but training was real hard. They taught us how to shoot a gun and worked us so hard my muscles have been aching. Last week they told us when we’d be heading out into the field. I got two weeks till they actually put my unit out there.
I’m scared. Terrified actually. But when it gets kinda rough over here, I think of that day sitting down by the pier and I close my eyes, and see your pretty smile.
I have a favour to ask you. Would you mind checking in on my friend for me? His name is Steve Rogers, he’s a scrawny little fella and always manages to get himself into trouble. Normally I’d be there to help him out but obviously that’s not the case anymore. Thank you so much.
Hopefully this stupid war is over soon and I can come back home and take you out on a proper date. Maybe we can go dancing? I bet you’d look gorgeous all dolled up for a night on the town.
Anyways, I gotta get back to training. I can’t wait to hear back from you. I’ll write again as soon as I can.
Yours Truly,
James Barnes
Rosie held the letter to her chest, right atop her heart and looked up with tears in her eyes. This man is the sweetest, most kind person she had ever met and he was so clearly alone and in pain.
Tucking the letter into the pocket of her apron, Rosie set off to work. Determined to finish up her shift as quick as possible so she could go find this friend that James spoke of.
~~~~~~~
It was around 4:00pm when Rosie finally finished up at the cafe. After gathering her things she set out on her mission to find one Steve Rogers.
She had asked the other girls at the cafe if they knew anything about him or where she could find him. They all said they’d heard of him getting beat on by some of the bigger guys in Brooklyn but had never met him themselves.
As Rosie was walking down the street on her way to the local park she made sure to check down every alley. Maybe Steve had managed to pick another fight with some bully.
While looking down one of the alleys, Rosie bumped into someone and stumbled back a few steps.
“I’m so sorry miss!” Spoke the voice of the man she had bumped into. “No no, it was my fault. I’m sorry.” Rosie said as she straightened out the skirt of her dress. Looking up she studied the man in front of her, realizing he was much shorter than she expected. After staring for a moment too long to be considered polite she voiced her thoughts. “You don’t happen to be Steve Rogers, do you?”
“Um, yeah that’s me. Why do you ask.” Steve questioned, confused as to why this beautiful damn would know his name.
Rosie’s eyes lit up at the revelation. “Oh! I’m Rosie. James wrote me and asked me to check on you. I wasn’t sure how I’d find you but here you are!”
“James?..... Wait, you mean Bucky? How is he? I haven’t heard from him since he left.” Steve responded enthusiastically.
“He’s doing alright. Says it’s scary over there, wishes he could be home. May I ask why you call him Bucky?” Rosie replied.
“It’s a nickname. Comes from his middle name, Buchanan.” Explained Steve.
“Oh well that makes sense I guess. Bit of a funny nickname though.” Rosie giggled. “Well anyways, why don’t we meet up sometime so we can chat and get to know each other. That way I can write back to James and tell him I’m keeping my eye on you.”
Steve ducked his head as he felt a blush rise to his cheeks. No dame had ever been so sweet to him. “Sure. I’d be happy to.”
“Okay, well I work at the cafe on fourth avenue. Maybe you could meet me there sometime tomorrow?” Rosie questioned.
“Yeah, sounds good. I’ll see you tomorrow then I guess.” Steve replied, a tad uncertain. “See you tomorrow.” Rosie spoke as she continued on her way. “Don’t get into any trouble before then Steve!” She called over her shoulder, letting out a quiet giggle.
~~~~~~~
The next day was like every other. Rosie got up, got ready, checked the mail, and went to work. The only difference about today was that she was expecting Steve to come by at some point.
Every time the bell above the door rang, Rosie’s head shot up and she hoped to see Steve walking in.
It was nearing the end of her shift and Steve still hadn’t showed up. Rosie was beginning to believe that Steve had chickened out and wasn’t coming. Just before she was about to gather up her things and head out that bell rang again and in walked Steve Rogers.
Rosie smiled from ear to ear and ran over to greet Steve. “Hiya Steve! I almost thought you weren’t gonna show up. How’re you doing?”
Steve blushed and looked at his shoes. “I’m doing pretty good. How are you, Rosie?”
“I’m quite well thank you.” Rosie spoke sweetly. “I’m just finishing up my shift so how about you go take a seat and I’ll be right back.”
“Okay” Steve was nervous as ever. He had never said more than two words to women as pretty as Rosie!
As Rosie walked away to collect her things, Steve took a few deep breaths and told himself everything would be fine.
When Rosie returned she slid into the booth across from Steve and struck up a conversation almost immediately.
“So Steve, how do you and James know each other?” She questioned politely.
“Well, we met when we were real young. I was the sick little kid who no one wanted to play with and Bucky didn’t really get along with the other kids. Sometimes the bigger kids would pick on me and push me around and one day Bucky saw ‘em doing that and stepped in. He told ‘em to ‘pick on someone their own size’ and sent ‘em on their way with a bloody nose. He’s kinda been my best friend and protector ever since. I seem to get myself into trouble quite often and he’s always the one to get me out.” Steve explained with an almost melancholic look on his face. “How about you? How did you meet Bucky?”
Rosie smiled softly at Steve’s explanation. She could tell from the way Steve spoke about James that they really did mean a lot to each other. “James and I actually met here. It was the day he got his orders. I had seen him in here a few times before then but he never sat at any of my tables. That day he did and he asked me if I’d be up for a chat. So I took him down to this place by the pier. Nice and quiet so we could talk and get to know each other. That’s all really. The next time I heard from him was just yesterday when I got his first letter.”
Steve was a little shocked at the fact that Bucky and Rosie barely even knew each other but he could see that Rosie was such a kind sweet person. How could Bucky have resisted? “I’m glad he met you Rosie.”
“I am too.” Rosie smiled down at her lap. Her hands fidgeting with the letter tucked away in the pocket of her apron.
The two spent another hour at the cafe, chatting and getting to know each other. By the time they were ready to part ways it was almost supper time and Rosie needed to get home. Steve asked to walk her home and Rosie let him.
“It was really nice getting to know you Steve!” “You too Rosie.” They smiled at each other before Rosie turned around to head up the stairs to her apartment.
Once she was inside Rosie got changed out of her uniform and into something a bit more comfy, before sitting down at her dining room table with a piece of paper and a pen.
Dear James,
I am so happy to hear from you! I won’t lie, I thought you might have forgotten about me. Anyways, I’m sorry it’s so scary over there. I wish you could just be back here with me.
I found that friend of yours, Steve. He’s quite a sweet young man. I had him come chat with me at the cafe so we could get to know each other and boy did I learn a lot. So Bucky, huh? It’s okay, I think I’m gonna keep calling you James.
Work has been keeping me quite busy lately. Every few days, when I finish up my shift I’ll head down to the pier and just sit and think about you and us and all the things we could be doing if you were here.
I’d absolutely love to go dancing with you. I will warn you now though, I’m not very good at it.
I hope all goes well and you can come home as soon as possible.
Love always,
Rosie Parker
Ps. Please stay safe. I need you back in one piece.

Aye you sick of me yet? Lol. How about the boys going to the boardwalk one night to find a traveling circus/freak show is in town. I’m talkin sword swallowing and fire breathing type ish. Our lovely lady s/o is an acrobat who performs with an aerial hoop (if you need reference, my personal fav performance is Chloe Gardiol doing cry me a river). And is she actually human? Who knows? Is she alluring as bait? Maybe.
Not at all!! Sorry it took so long to get to this!! I totally love this ask, and I’m definitely turning this into a fic!! I’m also thinking Poly!Lost Boys for this one!! I hope you enjoy!!

The boys probably should’ve known a circus was coming into town, but it caught the four of them by surprise. They’d been to their fair share over the years, but it was still a pleasant sight. It was something different. Something to keep them entertained besides the normal crowds that walked up and down the boardwalks. There were clowns, jugglers, and even fire breathers littering the boardwalk and impressing the locals.
“Gnarly!” Paul shouted as he watched someone swallow a sword. Marko and Paul were pushing eachother, and Dwayne had to grab both of them by the back of their coats before one of them decided to give it a try. David rolled his eyes and threatened,
“If the two of you don’t shut up, I’ll shove a sword somewhere else.” He said, and Paul wiggled his fingers at him and said,
“Ooh.” In a mocking tone, while Marko laughed and encouraged him to lighten up. It was a circus! They were supposed to be having a good time! And they were. David just didn’t like how many of the carnies kept coming up to them. Especially when a mime decided to make fun of David for wearing a “long face”. Marko and Paul had nearly lost their minds laughing when the mime copied David, and David had considered strangling the poor guy right then and there. He mimicked him smoking a cigarette, and, after only being around him for a minute, he was actually doing a pretty good impression. This only made him more angry. Luckily, something else had caught their attention.
There was a big top set up in the sand, and the four of them left their bikes near the back to check it out. A performance was just about to start, and they weren’t strangers to sneaking into places like this. They took some empty seats, and ducked in the crowd so no one would see them. Dwayne had to tell Paul to shut up, as he was sure the blondes giggling would give it away that they weren’t supposed to be there.
They watched a ring leader announce the name of the next performer, and the boys watched in wonder as you stepped out and a hoop was slowly dropped down from above. You wore a red and white shimmery leotard, one that exposed your legs, arms, and clung to your body. You had a rose in her hair, and they couldn’t tell how long it was by how it was tied back. Still, you were beautiful. Paul let out a wolf whistle, and Marko laughed and punched him in the shoulder.
They stayed for your entire performance, even though they’d only meant to stay for a few minutes. You were entrancing. They’d seen others perform aerial arts before, but there was just something about you that they couldn’t deny was different. The way that you hung in the air, moved your body, and seemed to have complete control over the audience, even them, was unmistakably mesmerizing. Marko even leaned over to whisper to David, asking if he thought that you were human. David didn’t say a word for a moment. His eyes watched you, and he whispered,
“I’m not sure.” It was a weird thing to admit, but it was the truth. There were too many heartbeats, too many scents. He couldn’t place which one was yours. Their voices were barely a whisper, and he was sure no one would’ve been able to hear him over the music. Marko then added,
“She’d make good bait.” And David turned to look at his angel faced brother. Marko was grinning, a grin that David had become far too familiar with over the years. It was like he had read his mind. He gave him a small smirk, and a silent nod. That you would.
When you finished your performance, Paul stood up to give you a standing ovation. He was quickly yanked down by the brunette, but he still hooted and hollered for you. They caught your laugh, but you were quickly bowing and retreating back behind the curtain. Marko whispered the beginning of their plan to the other two, and Paul was practically bouncing with excitement. They left the big top, sneaking out where they came, and going to grab their bikes. They were going to find you, get you away from the crowds, maybe have some fun and-
They paused when they saw a small crowd near their bikes. Apparently, they’d parked them right where the carnies took their breaks. The mime from before was smoking a cigarette, and they could hear what he was saying over the dull roar of the crowd.
“-Totally hot, but the one with the mullet was kind of a dick. I hate stopping in these shitty towns. God, why couldn’t- Shit! That’s them.” He noticed them just when they were only a few feet away. He was talking to you, exactly who’d they’d been looking for, and you turned to follow his eyes. You were wearing a light brown fur overcoat, one that went down to your mid-thigh, and it was obviously to keep the nights chill off of your shoulders. Your hair hung loosely over your shoulders, and it wasn’t until you turned that they realized it was you, the acrobat, from before. They could see the sparkly red and white leotard under your coat, and now they knew why you were wearing something so heavy. You furrowed your brows when they continued to walk closer.
“Can I help you boys?” You asked. This was circus territory. Hot or not, tourists and locals weren’t allowed to be back here. The platinum blonde, the one your friend had called a dick, smiled at you. He had ocean blue eyes, one’s sharp enough to pierce. He was dressed in all black, with an overcoat and gloves. You stared right back, and a shiver threatened to go down your spine. He was attractive, but your survival instinct from being on the road for so long practically screamed that he was dangerous. He gave you the creeps. He motioned to the bikes right besides you and your friends.
“We were just about to ask you the same thing.” He said. His voice was smooth like velvet, and you almost felt a wave of something. You couldn’t describe it except for suggestion, maybe? It washed over you like a wave, and it took all of your hesitance with it. “I’m David.” He said as he plucked a cigarette from behind his ear, and you found yourself giving up your name without thinking about it. Not your stage name. Your real one. Your friend, the mime, gave you a startled look. It was an unspoken rule not to share your real name. It broke the illusion. The barrier between actor and audience.
You’d been standing right in front of one of the middle bikes, a bike with a yellow back wheel and a raccoons tail hanging from one of the handles. The presumed owner, a curly-haired blonde with big, doe brown eyes slid by you into the space between the bike right next to his. He made sure to brush by you as you past, holding you steady so he didn’t knock you over. He didn’t excuse himself, and he grinned when you had to grip onto his jacket. He leaned in and whispered, “I’m Marko.” With a wide grin on his face. He climbed onto the bike, and revved the engine to life.
Then, the tallest of the blondes, swaggered his way over to you. He was at the end of the line and he didn’t have to walk nearly as close, but he did anyways. He brushed a hand over the fur of your coat, lifting his brows as he said, “Nice coat. I’m Paul.” With a slight californian accent. He looked more like a glam-rocker than a surfer, but you could smell the weed on him as he walked backwards for a few steps. He had a row of almost too perfect teeth, and a smile that was charming and lazy. And then he was taking a seat on a bike with a red back wheel.
The brunette didn’t try to come close. His bike was the other middle one, the one to your left, but he commanded your attention anyways. His eyes were dark and his skin was tanned. You didn’t let yourself embarrass yourself by looking down at his chest, and he gave you the smallest of smirks. He nodded his head at you and said, “Dwayne.” As he went to his bike. Your friend had been talking about him, and while you admitted that he was definitely hot, you wished he’d warned you that they all were. Though, you felt hairs stand on the back of your neck. Three of them were behind you, and, for some reason, you didn’t like that. But turning your back to David seemed far worse. David hadn’t made his way to his bike in the seconds that had just past, and instead asked,
“You got a light?” And you were snapped back to reality. You reached inside your coat, producing a lighter. David leaned down, the cigarette already between his teeth, and cupped your hand as you helped him light his cigarette. The leather was smooth against your skin, and you tried to pretend that your hand wasn’t shaking. He looked at you as he did, his eyes staring into yours. It made you gulp, and he smirked. He pulled back, took a drag, and blew the smoke away from you. He glanced at your friend, before he walked to his bike. It was the first one in line, and you turned to follow him with your eyes. You faced them, and David said, “Was that your last performance of the night?”
It barely registered as a question, but you shook your head. Not as an answer, but more so to clear it. The boys snickered, and Paul and Marko smiled at eachother. As if they knew something you didn’t. You were quick to say,
“No, no. That, um- I have another one later tonight.” You’d never been nervous around people before. But these boys? They made you feel like they were about to eat you alive. David took another drag, and he almost looked a little disappointed. It had to be your imagination though. Your friend tugged you to the side, out from in front of their bikes, and you let him. David watched, and he narrowed his eyes at the mime. He took another drag.
“You should find us later tonight.” David said, and the same feeling washed over you. The push. The suggestion. Before you could answer, he was flicking his unfinished cigarette to the side, and Paul was tearing through the sand. They followed one by one, but David was quick to take the lead. With them gone, it felt like a cloud had been lifted from your head. But there was one thing that remained. You would find them later that night. Somehow.
Your friend scoffed and shook his head. He had already lit another cigarette and said,
“Talk about freak show.”

Seoul was always busy. Even after 7:30 PM on a weeknight. The traffic in the downtown part of the city moved as if it were one, fluid unit. Everyone was always in a hurry; always rushing to get somewhere important. As with any metropolitan city, there was little space in Seoul to stop and take a breath. To attempt to recover from the grinding pace of daily life- especially Idol life.
The company car moved in harmony with the evening traffic, steadily passing people on sidewalks and businesses turning on their lights for the night. Namjoon released a sigh as he looked out the deeply tinted windows. A slight, reassuring squeeze came from the petite hand that was linked with his larger one. He returned the squeeze as he shifted to look down at his boyfriend seated beside him, soft, dark eyes looking deep into his own. “The workday is over, naekko, you don’t have to keep thinking so hard. Just relax for me, okay, Joonie-hyung?” Jimin smiled encouragingly, gently leaning his small shoulder into Namjoon’s upper arm. Namjoon’s ears redden slightly at the overly cute nickname and moves their clasped hands to Jimin’s knee, sighing again, “You’re right, jagiya. And I will. You know it just takes me a little while to unravel from the day.” The smaller man nods, content with the answer he received, and rests his head against his boyfriend’s strong shoulder. Both men sit and breathe in the familiar closeness of an evening drive through the city. The sky outside continues to darken as the private car drives on toward Ttukseom Park and leaves the company building further and further in the distance.
“Kamsahamnida. Can you come back to pick us up at 9:00 pm, please?” Namjoon waves to the company driver. When he turns, Jimin is standing under the glow of a streetlamp, holding their kimbap take-away, a sweet smile on his angelic face. The smile grows as Namjoon closes the distance between them, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to Jimin’s forehead. “Let’s walk down and find a place by the river to sit and eat our dinner,” Namjoon suggests, taking the bag of food in one hand, Jimin’s tiny hand in the other, and leading the way down the walking path toward Cheongdam Daegyo Bridge. The pair finds a slightly secluded picnic table with a view of the bridge and the city skyline across the river, perfect for a late evening dinner. Being the more domestic of the couple, Jimin busies himself with wiping the table, passing out napkins, and giving each of them a squirt of hand sanitizer. He then opens the expertly-made kimbap, all of which the two usually share.
Neither can recall how it started, but it’s weekly tradition that Thursday nights are date night for take-away from their favorite kimbap place. The shop was owned by an elderly couple that had grown very fond of all seven of the boys. “Halmeoni said she missed us the last two weeks, aegiya. She insisted on giving us an extra cheese kimbap. She said she and harabeoji watched us on TV,” Jimin paused to smile up at his boyfriend as he divided the gifted kimbap between them. Across the table, Namjoon returns the smile, dimples appearing on his cheeks, “So generous. Bangtan might not have survived if halmeoni hadn’t given us so much free ramyeon.” He pops another piece of his cheese kimbap into his mouth, looking over the river, distant memories seeming to float by with the current. Jimin waits another moment and then clears his throat timidly, “Halmeoni also asked how you were doing,” he pauses, giving his boyfriend an intentional look, “she wanted to remind you to sleep well and take care of yourself.” The tips of Namjoon’s ears were tinged slightly pink and he shifts on his side of the table, “well, halmeoni is wise. I guess I need to catch up on my sleep in case she checks in on me next week,” he teases, chuckling lightly, avoiding his boyfriend’s eyes.
Namjoon stands from the table, collecting the trash and placing in a nearby bin. Jimin joins him and the two head toward the nature trail, hand in hand, walking at a leisurely pace. The pair strolls in comfortable silence for a while, admiring the river and the local flora in the waning evening light. A little ways ahead, they follow a slight fork in the path, arriving at one of Namjoon’s favorite places in the city- a stone bench, slightly secluded by bunches of rivergrass and cattails, and setback right from the riverbank. The couple takes a seat, Namjoon wrapping his strong arm around Jimin’s slim shoulders, the two fitting like a custom-made set. They take in the distant, twinkling lights of the skyline across the river and exchange a few quiet words of conversation before Jimin straightens a little and clears his throat. “You know, jagi, halmeoni isn’t the only one who wants you to take care of yourself. She isn’t the only one who worries,” he begins, voice small, eyes focused on the city skyline across the river. He breathes in deep and continues, “I worry about you, aein. I want you to take care of yourself,” at this, Jimin pulls himself from under his boyfriend’s arm and turns toward the taller man, eyes wide and beseeching,“I know you’re busy, Joonie-hyung. I know our schedule is packed, but you have to rest too, jagiya. Let me be there for you- please.” He suddenly places his tiny hands on Namjoon’s knee, words tumbling out like autumn leaves over a waterfall. Namjoon’s eyebrows are knitted together in concern, but his eyes are soft and filled with adoration. “You don’t have to work yourself to the bone for everything to be done and done well, Joonie-hyung. I care about you so much, aegiya. I love you with my whole heart,” Jimin’s pretty face is flushed slightly pink, his dark eyes wide and shining in the subtle glow from nearby streetlamps. He took a deep breath and waited for Namjoon’s response.
Seoul was always busy. Even nearing 8:45 pm on a Thursday night. But here, on this slightly secluded stone bench in Ttukseom Hangang Park, time seemed frozen. The genuine affection shared between the couple seated on this bench was almost palpable. Love surrounded them like a hazy, pink cloud of perfume that invaded their senses, creating lasting, core memories. Namjoon finally blinks, coming back down to earth and allowing his eyes to refocus. Without a word, he reaches out and wraps Jimin in a hug, pulling him close. They stay wrapped in each other's arms for a moment, reveling in the closeness, the tenderness; breathing in each other’s scent. Namjoon pulls back first, keeping one arm around Jimin’s and letting the other fall to rest his slim knee. He peers deeply into Jimin’s dark eyes, pressing a light kiss to one soft cheek and then the other, before saying, “I love you too, jagiya. And I know you love me. I can see your love in how you smile when our eyes meet from across the stage or you find me in a crowded room. And I can feel your love in the way you hug me like all your worries have melted away.” He smiles reassuringly, running long fingers through Jimin’s silky, black hair, “I know I need to take a step back, aein. Maybe a few steps. Starting tomorrow, I will. You’re right, jagi, I know everything will get done, especially since I have the six of you to support me. I don’t have to work myself to death.” Namjoon chuckles at his dark joke, but his face falls when he feels Jimin shudder under his arm at his final word. “Oh jagiya-” Namjoon begins, hand moving down to rub soothingly along his boyfriend’s narrow back. Jimin interrupts, placing both small hands comfortingly on Namjoon’s chest over his heart, “that’s exactly what I’m trying to avoid, aegiya,” his voice tinged with a hint of heartache floating just under the surface. He continues, eyes glistening, voice hushed, “I couldn’t b-bear to lose you, nae sarang.” His voice wavers as he leans forward, curling into the broad chest before him, Namjoon’s strong arms wrapping securely around him again.
The river below seemed to sparkle from the enchanting mixture of streetlamps, city lights, and car headlights from the bridge. The moon and stars added their ethereal glow which painted a heavenly highlight across Jimin’s cheeks. This subtle radiance made Namjoon’s breath catch in his chest as Jimin lifted his head to look up at his boyfriend. Namjoon smiles reassuringly and runs his thumb over his boyfriend’s cheek, “Orin wangjanim, I promise I’m not going anywhere. You know that.” Orin wangjanim- my little prince. Jimin’s eyes light up at his favorite term of endearment, used by Namjoon only on the most special occasions. Golden memories rapidly flood his mind with the moments he’s heard that nickname; before their first kiss, when they first said “I love you”, when Namjoon proposed. Jimin lifts his tiny hand, gazing at the simple, gold engagement ring there as he speaks, “You’re right, aegiya. We’re in this until the end. Please let me help you bear your burdens. Like we say, teamwork makes the dream work,” he finishes with an awkward ‘finger-gun’ and clicks his tongue. Both men burst out in laughter, basking in the lightness of the mood. As their laughter fades and the moment turns tender again, the moon and stars reflecting in their love-struck eyes. Jimin reaches up and cradles Namjoon’s face as their lips meet in a kiss, moving in a familiar, comfortable dance. For just a moment, the stars from the sky above seem to come down to suspend around them.
*Ding* The 9:00 pm alarm on Namjoon’s phone chimes, rousing the couple reluctantly from their kisses. The shorter of the two stands abruptly, putting on a mock-serious face and planting his tiny fists on his hips. “Come now, Namjoon-ssi. We must not delay our departure any longer,” he commands in a silly, deep voice (what he calls his ‘grown-up voice’). His boyfriend’s eyes crinkle in amusement as he stands, swinging his long arms toward the path, and arranging his face in a similar way. “Quite right, you are. Let us away, then,” he says in English, attempting a British accent. Always easily amused, Jimin can’t hold a straight face any longer and bursts into a fit of laughter, doubling over and crumpling to the ground. Also laughing (but not quite as hysterically), Namjoon crouches in front of his boyfriend until he recovers, “you good, jagiya? Come on, let’s head to the exit and find the car.” Jimin nods and smiles, brushes dust off of his jeans, and links his fingers with Namjoon’s.
As the couple nears Ttukseom Park’s exit, Namjoon’s phone vibrates with a call from Yoongi. “Yeoboseyo hyung. Ah yeah. Okay we will. Thanks, later,” he ends the call, pocketing his phone and looking at his boyfriend, “That was Yoongi-hyung, reminding us we should post on Bangtan’s Twitter to thank ARMY for keeping Butter at number one on the Billboard charts for a fourth week. Maybe we could take a selca when we get in the car?” he suggests, shrugging his wide shoulders. Jimin skips along in excitement, smiling wide, “oh what a good idea, naekkeo!” Once the car is headed toward Namjoon’s apartment, Jimin eagerly pulls out his phone, “ready, jagiya? Big, cute, smile!” They lean their heads together and smile contentedly. *click* The shutter sound indicates the picture is ready. Jimin reviews the photo and quickly posts it to the group’s Twitter, miniature thumbs flying over his phone’s keyboard. “ARMY will love this, don’t you think? We look so-” as he turns, soft, full lips meet his own, kissing him deeply. Jimin melts into the kiss, sighing. “Yeah, I think a MiniMoni selca will be pretty popular,” Namjoon smirks, eyes twinkling, as he pulls the smaller man close by his side. He kisses the top of his head, then turns to look out the window at the passing city. Jimin knows his cheeks are pink as he switches off his phone and settles back into the warm chest behind him.
Seoul was always busy. Even after 9:14 PM on a Thursday night. The traffic moved in a single fluid unit, like the water in the Han River, that passed continuously by the secluded stone bench. Everyone was always in a hurry; but there were some ways to slow down. Some pockets of solace even in a bustling metropolis. Evening picnics of kimbap take-away, walking hand-in-hand through Ttukseom Hangang Park, meaningful moments on a riverbank bench illuminated by the moonlight, selcas in the backseat of a company car, and affectionate kisses all caused time to slow down and even stop. The warm, intimate feeling of love surrounded the couple in the backseat, hanging in the air like a nebulous cloud of the sweetest perfume. The promise of a shared future and acknowledgment of mutual support making it all the more precious. As the private car continued down the city streets, the couple continued forward into a future full of endless possibilities as vast as the stars in the night sky.

My Unexpected Trip to Mystic Falls
iMeSo this holiday break I drove down south to visit family I hadn’t seen in awhile. I was excited about seeing them but not happy about the over ten hour drive this was going to end up being both ways. Family is important so I was willing to concede even though “I didn’t feel like it”, but boy was it worth it.
I get there Sunday evening and after thanking God for a safe journey, I was stoked to see my family. Hugs and kisses were exchanged and after settling down, my aunt and cousin begins to tell me about the new town they just moved to a few months back...Covington, Georgia. I knew I was coming there but every time they told me the name of the place, my brain would try to remember where I’d heard about it previously but I never could come up with it.
Then my cousin goes, “You’ve heard of the show Vampire Diaries, right?”
Me:
Tumblr media
“Well you know they filmed right here in Covington”
Me:
Tumblr media
Like I’m legit shocked. I knew they filmed somewhere in Georgia I just had no clue that they filmed where my fam actually moved. I’m late to the Vampire Diaries, Originals, and Legacies world. In fact, one of my students suggested I watch it because I liked teen dramas and had shared that in class before. Needless to say I was dumb excited.
After doing the typical Christmas holiday stuff, my family and I drove to downtown Covington and I was immediately lost in the world of Mystic Falls. I also realized why they call that place the “Hollywood of the South”.
Anyway, I’m just gonna share some cool shit I saw down there and hope you guys enjoy.
So when you drive in you’re immediately hit with the Mystic Falls town square. They actually have a Mystic Grill, the park, and the clock tower located in the middle of town.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So we parked and walked around through the square and took several shots. They had a store there that gave tours, but I didn’t go because literally everything is in walking distance. After taking pictures, so local folks told us we can actually go into the Mystic Grill and take pictures and there’s also a museum over there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So you can go down the side steps next to the Mystic Grill and they had some cool shots there as well.

So then, you can go into the gift shop. Not only is it a gift shop but they have the actors actual clothing that was worn on set from Vampire Diaries and The Originals. (Sorry some of these pics didn’t come out as clear as I would liked)
One of the first things I saw was Elena’s clothes from Episode 1.
Tumblr media
Bonnie’s shirt from the decades dance. I commented on how small the clothes were. Something I already knew internally that they are tiny. There was a lady who worked in the gift shop that’s been around for awhile and she noted that Kat Graham (Bonnie) was the smallest. She was a size 0 and they still had to take her clothing in.
Tumblr media
Caroline’s outfit.
Tumblr media
Elena’s decade outfit.
Tumblr media
Damon’s shirt.
Tumblr media
Elijah’s suit.
Tumblr media
Elijah’s portrait.
Tumblr media
Elena’s clothes.
Tumblr media
Elena’s dress. I think from season 6. The last episode she was in before leaving. The lady at the shop also commented that Nina is a size 2. She said she’s small but has big feet and big hands. It was kinda shady and I chuckled slightly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Freya’s wedding dress.
Tumblr media
Hayley’s clothes.
Tumblr media
Rebekah’s clothes.
Tumblr media
Stefan’s jersey.
Tumblr media
Salzman t-shirt.
Tumblr media
I brought some stuff and then I went upstairs towards the Mystic Grill. They get a lot of tourist so we were allowed to go in and take pics. The actual grill doesn’t look like it is on the show inside. Also to be expected.
Outside the Mystic Grill
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Inside they let you go to the roof and take pics from the roof and they also had signed copies of the menus from the cast.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Side note on Danielle that the lady in the museum gave me. She said Danielle is very mature for her age but also very kind. She said out of the new kids Matt Davis likes her the best out of the new kids. The shop owner was insinuating that Danielle may have been the most humble of the newer kids. She said Davis mentioned that the new kids “already new they had a built in fan base and he liked working with Danielle the best.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lol at Nina writing all her characters down.
Tumblr media
From the roof of the Mystic Grill
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After taking all the pics from the Mystic Grill, we were informed that the Gilbert residence was only down the street, so of course I went there as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seeing the Gilbert house made me a little emoteliional because so much shit happened in that house but more importantly on that porch. For whatever reason when Elena and Stefan broke up, that scene popped into my head paulfirst. Or Bonnie being on the porch when she was stuck in that world by herself.
Anywho, the trip was totally unexpected but it was awesome and to other fans I hope you get a chance to see it one day. I was super late to this world and fandom and it was cool to get my geek on during the break.

Nobody asked for this, here it is nonetheless.
Some fluff/angst. TW: reference to sex
English is not my first language so the grammar and vocab is far from perfect lol. im sorry tho.
They were staying at the safe-house they had in the North of Spain. It was rather small, but comfortable enough and practically isolated, which was perfect to begin with Nile's training with the sword and axe. Even if it was quite close from a big town, it was far enough to be free of walking-by locals and other people who may be surprised to find two women fighting with swords in the middle of the countryside.
The sun was setting on the horizon. Nile was having her first lesson with the axe, listening carefully to Andy's instructions on the grass field in front of the house, when Nicky and Joe walked out the front door.
“We are going to the market to buy some stuff...” Yusuf said with a smirk. “We're taking the car. See you later!”
“Wait, can I go?” the three of them turned to Nile and Andy chuckled but said nothing, waiting for the couple's reaction.
“I don't really think you would want to” Nicolo began, fidgeting nervously, followed by Yusuf “Yeah, you gotta finish with today's training. Also, is quite late already so...”
“Alright, but come back for dinner...” Andy said dismissively, laughing at Nicky's expression of sarcastic discrepancy with which he answered her.
And babbling a thousand made-up excuses, the two of them ran into the car, parked next to the house, and left before Nile could argue.
“I think I could have helped them... They don't speak contemporary Spanish, and I still remember what I learnt at high school...” she spoke, thoughtful. But before she went on, questioning herself, Andy placed a hand on her shoulder.
“You know that they are not going to the market, right?” she said. ‘How can she be so wise and innocent at the same time.’ Andy thought.
“Where are they going, then?”
“To a Motel, probably” she said with a grin.
Nile stopped a second and felt like her cheeks burned in embarrassment. “Oh.” Nile mumbled and Andy chuckled again. “Well yes, I think we gotta thank them that because the four of us sleep in the same room...”
Andromache sat down on the grass and put the axe aside. “Let's rest a bit. Turns out that being mortal is way more tiring that I expected.” Nile sat next to her, embarrassment still obvious in her face.
While Andy caught her breath, they stared up at the mountains and clouds on the horizon, still lighted by the warm colours of the setting sun, while the landscape around them darkened gradually.
"They are quite distant from each other." Nile broke the silence and Andy turned to her. "I mean, they are practically married, but despite the fact that they sleep tangled on each other, they always keep distance from each. It's not like they are supposed to display their love every second, and I understand that, through the centuries, they have learned to keep it secret to avoid getting into trouble. I don't even want to know what you all have suffered because of intolerance throughout history. But even when it is only the four of us, or Booker... when they know that they wont be judged by anyone...”
Andy smiled to herself and stared into the distance again. “Trust me, there was a time, centuries ago when there wasn't a single fucking day in which they wouldn't demonstrate their undying love for each other in front of us. You couldn't keep them away from each other, and had little problem with kissing or teasing each other around us. All over each other all the time, They were like teenagers...” a nostalgic smile was drawn on her lips, as she recalled times long way gone. “But they fit together so perfectly... it was like watching a perfect composition. It is also true that we were something similar, Quynh and I..."
“And it all changed when you lost Quynh, right?” Nile observed and Andy turned to meet her eyes 'This girl is too smart for her own good' she thought.
“Yes...” she admitted, her gaze going back to the darkening landscape “When they got me out of that damned cell and I told them what had happened... crying like I hadn’t done in millennia... they didn’t say a word and held me like the desperate child I felt I was. I had never felt as desperate, as powerless as I did in that moment. I didn’t want to eat or sleep. I just wanted to get her out of the terrible prison she was in. And while we looked for her they took care of me. When we finally had to give up and continue with our lives, returning to our missions and trying to make the world a better place, something had already changed and I hadn’t noticed until then." she sighed, thinking bitterly of those days, carved so deeply and painfully in her memory. “They didn’t seem to be so close, so clingy to each other as they used to be. The loud praising words, for everyone to hear, were replaced by subtle smiles and gazes. They would stop immediately and turn their attention to me if I happened to walk into them kissing or cuddling, which they didn’t before. And above it all, they spent as much time as they could with me. They didn’t want me to be alone and they didn’t want me to remember the time when it was the four of us against everything else. They knew that if I was left alone, my own regrets and guilt would end me, but if they acted as they had done until then, memories would drag me to an bottomless pit of grief. I was so frail then and they did exactly what they had to do to keep me right.” and then she muttered something under her breath.
‘Gods, I love them so much.’ Nile managed to understand.
Suddenly Andy stood up and took hold of the axe again. “They would leave me on my own for longer periods of time, but never over a year. When we found Booker, we were already used to that dynamic. Nowadays, as you can see, this kind of distance they keep is like a joke between us.” she looked at Nile, staring thoughtfully at her, eyes torn between pity and deep comprehension. “Don’t look at me like that, stand up and lets continue with your training.”
....
They didn’t come back until dawn, when they walked into Andy and Nile having breakfast in the kitchen.
“We brought bread.” Nicky said, placing the carton on the counter.
“And you’ve been waiting for the wheat to grow?” Andy snorted.
"Perhaps you went to buy it all the way to France." Nile commented sarcastically. Yusuf looked at her and later to Andromache ‘Honestly boss,” he said “I think that you two are spending too much time together.”

Saltwater Petals on Our Skin
summary: someone moves into shop next door to the Pogues’ surf shack
pairing(s): sarah cameron x OC, john b x sarah cameron, jj maybank x OC, kie carrera x OC
taglist: @summerintheobx @kiarascarreras
a/n: okay i know the summary sucks but this is the flower shop surf shack AU i mentioned a few weeks ago, and its something new im trying! (i know i already have so many things to finish lol but im really excited about this). this will be a multi-chapter fic, and features an OC! the pairings for this fic may seem a bit confusing right now (since those are the pairings for the whole fic not just this chapter), but i hope it has a bit of everything so you all will be happy with it! also shout out to @thatjohnd who is practically my co-writer (most everything written in this fic is something we’ve both come up with and screamed about lmao) so without further ado, here is the first chapter!
Tumblr media
The first thing John B noticed on his way into work was that the place next door, which had been abandoned for years and then under extreme renovation the past few months, had no workers loitering around but did have an absolutely ancient truck parked outside. For as long as he had been working at the surf shack on the beach, he couldn’t remember a time when that building had ever been occupied, but it looked like now its luck was changing. The truck was loaded, practically overflowing, with plants and pots and soil, and John B could see only one person struggling to move everything from the vehicle into the building. If a new sort of shop was moving in, why was only one employee doing all the work? He rushed over to help the stranger with a particularly large potted plant when he saw they were about to drop it.
“Oh!” the stranger yelped when John B helped them set the pot on the sidewalk. “Thanks for that. Would’ve been a disaster if I’d dropped Petunia here.”
John B smiled as he got a good look at the new neighbor. She was a small woman around his age, with warm brown skin and even deeper brown eyes that lit up as she smiled at John B. Her thick black hair was pulled up and tied back with a bandana, revealing a sheen of sweat at the nape of her neck from all the movement she’d been doing under the hot sun. What really caught his attention, however, were the delicate tendrils of ink flowering over her skin, climbing up her arms and disappearing over her ribs until they were hidden by her tank top.
“You, uh,” he forced himself to speak instead of standing there staring at her slack jawed, “you moving in?”
“Yeah! Opening up a new flower shop,” she replied as her smile grew even wider. “Do you work nearby?”
“Oh, yeah, I work right next door at the surf shack. I’m John B, by the way.”
“Marisol, but most people call me Mari. Nice to meet you, John B. Thanks again for saving Petunia.”
“You name your plants?”
“Not all of them. Sometimes the missus names them. She named Petunia, and I would never hear the end of it if I got her all over the sidewalk.”
John B blinked. He had never heard anyone besides Kie talk so openly about having girlfriends, but it was nice. Mari obviously didn’t have a problem with people knowing, and John B had no problem with hearing it at all. In fact, he thought Kie would be happy to have some sapphic friends. He would need to remember to tell her about them later.
“Glad I could help you stay out of the doghouse,” he joked. “I could help you with the rest of this if you want.”
“You don’t need to be getting to work?”
“Nah, those slackers can manage without me while I help out our new neighbor. After all, what kind of welcome would it be if I left you to handle this by yourself when it’s hot as balls out?”
She laughed and shook her head. “Not a very warm one. Well, then, come on, I’ll show you around the shop. Oh, uh, you’re not afraid of dogs, are you?”
“You kidding? I love dogs!”
Mari grinned at him as she hefted a bag of soil over her shoulder and nodded for him to pick up Petunia. “Then you’ll love Grace!”
As soon as the door was opened, a great beast of a dog zoomed through the entryway, heading straight for John B. Fearing for his life, and for Petunia the plant, John B attempted to side step the creature, only for the dog to fall at his feet and roll onto its back as if asking for belly rubs. John B stared at it, completely expecting it to forgo the docile act and lunge for his throat.
“This is Grace. There’s no need to be afraid,” Mari teased, “she’s an absolute sweetheart. She usually just lays underneath the table while I work.”
He slowly put the plant on the ground and reached out to pet the dog’s belly. Grace was huge, and seemed to e some sort of pitbull mix, but she seemed to be grinning as he got more comfortable and scratched behind her ears. Mari smiled as she passed the two of them to drop the bag she was carrying onto a nearby table. John B finally let Grace hop up and got his first good look at the place. The walls were lined with tables, probably where countless flowers would be displayed, a sliding glass door to a currently empty room, and there was a backdoor that led to a small garden bordering the beach. He was impressed with how gorgeous and grown it already was, beautiful tropical flowers blooming around what looked like a saltwater pond.
“How...” he trailed off, still staring at the piece of paradise right next to his surf shack. “How did you manage to do all this?”
Mari laughed and shrugged, coming up next to him to admire her garden. “I majored in horticulture, and the missus really likes flowers, so... I just put in the work. Took a long time to get this how it is, though. Trial and error with the one at our place.”
“You have this where you live?” he couldn’t keep the awe out of his voice.
“Like I said, we love plants. Hoping to get some fish in that pond there, make a sort of aquaponic system maybe.”
“Shit, you’re like, smart huh?”
“Science was sort of my thing.”
“And your wife?”
Mari threw her head back and laughed. “Oh, she was a fine arts major. But she’s probably more into the science of the flowers than I am. She like validates some of the shit I do with the flowers, but she’s actually read the studies that validate me.”
John B snorted and shook his head. “So the fine arts major knows more about horticulture than you do?”
“What can I say? She’s a genius.”
The two fell into easy banter as John B spent the rest of the morning helping Mari unload the plants and soil from her pickup truck. It reminded him a bit of his van; ancient but in beautiful shape. The truck, though, was probably prettier than the Twinkie with it’s shiny paint job and delicate lettering on the side advertising the flower shop. Around lunchtime, after they had just managed to finish all the unloading, John B leaned against the side of the truck, his forearms resting on the edge of the bed, as Mari sat cross-legged in the bed telling him a joke with Grace’s head in her lap. He found himself surprisingly relaxed with her, as if they were already close friends.
“So what made you choose here to set up shop?” John B asked after he took a sip from the bottled water she’d offered.
He immediately regretted asking the question, because he noticed how Mari’s shoulders tensed up, how her eyebrows pulled in, and how her jaw clenched. He wasn’t sure why, but this was not some simple question for her.
“Oh, well, Sarah is from the area, and I always loved the beach so... it was a no brainer,” she replied, a smile forcing its way onto her face, but John B could tell it wasn’t real. The dimple in her right cheek wasn’t visible, and through the whole morning he’d noticed how it would appear whenever she smiled or laughed. “You from around here?”
“Born and raised,” he said proudly, hoping to move the conversation from what made her so uncomfortable. “Even went to the local college before the old man who used to own the shack gave it to us. Said he was getting too old to be wiping out so much.”
Mari laughed, a genuine one this time, and he relaxed. There was a lot to learn about the shack’s new neighbors, but he had a good feeling. He just couldn’t help but feel like this was the beginning of something great.

Manager!Kylo Ren x Singer!Reader
Summary: Taking up late night gigs downtown at the Starlight Lounge was always just a way to earn some extra cash. Most days you’d bartend or bus tables, but on some special days your boss, Michael, would let you act as the live music feature of the night. It was one of those nights when you met him. The dark brooding man in the corner of the dimly lit bar caught your eye and promised opportunity, but nothing could have hinted towards what he had planned for the future.
Rating: Mature. This part is tame though.
Warnings: Unfair power dynamics, age gap, eventual smut, dub-con, drug use, slow burn
Words Count: 1.7K (Ik I went overboard)
Notes: This is my first ever fanfic so pls be nice 🥺. I took the inspiration for this from a couple of songs by the band Interpol and might make a playlist to go along with each chapter. If you guys have any suggestions or constructive criticism on my writing it’d be much appreciated (and needed lol). Also, this moves REALLY slowly in the beginning, but I promise I’ll start to pick up the pace.
Tumblr media
Part 1: Meeting place
It broke again.
The only thing that alerted me this time was Michael's voice, booming from the back end of the bar from the kitchen to where I stood near the glassware.
"The third fuckin' time this month that I gotta replace the damn martini glasses 'cause of that hunk-of-shit washer!"
It's an easy fix, he could just replace that "hunk-of-shit" once, and that way he could spare us $65 every time a set of glasses break. It would also save the poor man on the end of the line every time he calls the distributor, demanding a new dozen and a discount. I could remind him this was an option again, but I know better. No matter what I say, I know his pride will go against any sense of better judgment. So, I stay quiet. Let him go on his little tirade while I do what he pays me to do: Act sweet to an array of old drunkards who plop themselves down on the same barstools every Saturday night. After they all get comfy, I make a point to ask about their wives and how their bitch of a boss made them work overtime. At the same time, I whip up concoctions of tequila, salt, and lime for them to hurriedly gulp down and offer me gratitude. However, it's only ever through words, never an extra 15% on the tab.
Kindness in strangers. That's what I was taught. Mama kept a stack of old scripts in a wicker basket near her nightstand, and I remember rummaging through them on static summer days when it was too hot to go outside. Mama never believed in failures. She'd always tell me, "you're constantly learning and improving. Never failing, just falling — stagnant." I like to believe that's true, but I was also raised to be honest. And, In all honesty, I can't deny that Mama was a failure. She moved out to California from Georgia without telling a soul the night she turned 17. She had nothing but her new hand-me-down car, some spare cash she got from waitressing, and a small suitcase full of clothes and essentials. Her dream was to become a performer, an actress, a starlet of her generation. She tried. I know she did, but things don't work out for a reason. So, I too, was born and raised in Georgia. However, unlike how Grandman brought up Mama, I was raised off stories of Mama's journey to Tinsel Town and the people she met rather than Grimms' Fairytales. I learned how to fall asleep to softly hummed show tunes rather than lullabies. Mama never wanted to buy new children's books; instead, she would recite one of her scripts to me. When I got a bit older, I fell in love with The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, and that's when Mama told me: "Always depend on the kindness of strangers."
I blame Mama. I believe personality is a sort of genetic trait, and I definitely got all of that from Mama. I can never say no to Michael. Not because he scares me or that I'm in full agreeance with him all the time, but whenever the word threatens to leave me lips, it chokes me. Then, I swallow it back down and resume whatever I was doing. No is never an option. It was never an option in the schoolyard or in the house, and especially not during my music classes. Mama wanted me to continue whatever legacy she had crafted for herself, and much to her disappointment, I was not much of a talker, but I was a hummer. So, Mama forced me to turn my quiet hums into fully supported singing. That was the start of it all. I took up guitar after that, and stole my dad's old records and tried to replicate what I would hear. I guess that's how I started writing music, as for what I did with that music...
"(y/n), Lucy said she comin' to take o'er you're shift in a few. If you want, you can clock out for tonight," Michael grumbled from the back in a shout.
"It's only midnight. I've only been working for about four hours, and I need the money this month, so I'm okay working for a little bit more. I can help you out in the back if you'd like," I responded. I really did need the money though, Martin's been on my ass about my lease.
Michael peered at me through the kitchen doorframe for a second, "You got your guitar in your car?"
"Yeah."
"You up to play a few songs tonight? We've got a bit more business tonight."
I felt the muscles in my face pull up and tighten against my will. I hate to admit that sometimes Michael can make me smile, and he was right. I turned to the entrance and slowly, one-by-one, people started coming in and settling down.
"Yes, sir! I'll bring it out." I exclaimed while grabbing my keys from behind the counter and making my way out to my car parked at the back.
After retrieving my case from the trunk, I quickly checked my reflection on the left-hand mirror and smoothed out my hair and touched up my lipstick. I saw a man pass by through the corner and make his way into the bar. I better make tips tonight doing this.
I waltzed back into the bar and headed for the small stage in the front. It's not really a stage more than it's a glorified black stool, but I like to think it's charming and adds character. You know, mask up the patheticness of it all. I plugged in my Fender to the worn-out amps and strummed to make sure it was in tune. There were a lot of people tonight. Well, a lot more than usual, at least. Quickly, I scanned the room for comforting faces to focus on and calm my nerves. Most of our customers were gruff men, so this trick usually didn't work, but tonight was different. In the corner by a little bust made by a local artist sat a man with thick black hair. He was by no means soft. Much like the patrons, he harbored a hard look on his face, but he struck me differently. It was intense and cold. Georgia's a hot place, so I didn't mind his gaze. It was cooling and made me freeze over.
I don't know why, but I want to impress him. Plus, looking down, I saw he was wearing a polished pair of dress shoes, so I assume he's got some money on him, maybe he'll spare me a tip. I'll just play a cover. Can't go wrong with a cover.
My fingers dragged across the guitar strings and drew out the alternating chords of D7 and Am in a back and forth pattern.
"It was the third of June, another sleepy, dusty Delta day... Mama said she got some news this mornin' from Choctaw Ridge... She said Billie Joe McAllister jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge..."
Bobbie Gentry was one of dad's favorites. I know the country wasn't a popular choice for many people, but this is the South, and Ode to Billie Joe is always a classic, and I think the dreariness of the song perfectly compliments the tone of the bar.
I played a set and earned a couple of measly tips from it. Nothing I could complain about, I guess. It was nearly 1 am, and I was getting tired. Overtime is only worth so much, so I decided it was best to go back home. I packed up my guitar and walked to the bar counter to ask Lucy to clock for me, but before I could even rest my case against the counter, I felt a man slide into the seat next to me.
"You've gotta nice voice," he drawled out while staring at the wall in front of him.
"Thank you. I perform here almost every week."
"Is that right?"
"Yeah..." I couldn't really think of how I could continue this conversation. And, trust me, I really want to. The man was wearing a black button-up shirt, grey trousers, and that impressive pair of dress shoes. His hair was long and gelled back, and his profile was exquisite. He looked strong, and his voice was deep and rich like marmalade.
"You could work on that guitar a little bit," he deadpanned as he took a swig of whiskey. I looked at him even more intensely then and scoffed.
"Really? Can you do better?"
"I never said that. I just think, with a voice like that, the guitar should match up," he said with a playful glint in his voice as he finally turned his head towards me.
Now, I really don't know how to continue this conversation.
"Alright, you caught me. I'm not that great at the guitar, but hey, I'm a bar singer, not Paul McCartney, or something," I laughed out. He smiled, and then I felt all the blood in my body rush to my cheeks, it's a miracle I didn't fall flat on my face.
"I guess I was just expecting more," he said.
"Well, I didn't promise you anything, did I?"
He looked like he was in his late 20s, probably.
"No. No, you didn't. But, maybe you could start... for next time."
"That depends. Are you gonna give me a tip."
"Yes. When I think you deserve it," he said as his face fell flat and his voice authoritative in an odd way.
"Well, I'll probably be here next Saturday so you can decide then."
"Will do," he smirked.
"What's your name?" I asked.
"Kylo," he replied in a gentle voice as he once again held his glass of whiskey up. He then raised his eyebrow, and I knew he wanted an answer.
"(y/n)."
He gulped down his whiskey, turned to me, and smiled. I wanted to say something more, I had to say something, but he stopped me before I could by getting up and walking towards the door.
"I gotta be somewhere tomorrow, doll. I'm expecting a show on Saturday," he exclaimed as he stepped out the bar.
"Don't worry... I can put on a show."
He grinned one final time before escaping out of the bar, leaving me alone with his empty cup of whiskey and a smile that doesn't leave my face the entire night.

Bodyguard (John Wick x Reader) Pt. 4
Tumblr media
A/N: Hi! sorry im awful at uploading lol. my personal life rn is on fire and i haven’t had all the time in the world to write, but managed to pull this chapter together so :) thats coolio.
Words: 4.7k
Warnings: swears, violence, a lil fluff
“So, tell me everything.” June smirked, leaning over the table towards you. You had managed to meet the girls on time, only a few minutes past twelve- thirty. The three of you got seated shortly after, and ordered your cocktails; beginning the rounds of catching up you had to do. The restaurant is diner themed, set in the 1950’s. One wall of the building was a bar, fit with barstools, an ice cream machine, as well as a soda machine. There was even a section where you could order homemade candy. Little booths scattered the wall across from the bar, and tables separated the two. The floor was checkered design donning many muddy footprints and the walls were covered in old-timey photos of local streets. You and the girls sat at a booth, June and Dottie sitting across from you.
“Okay, get this,” You began, leaning in towards your friends, “Santino, you know, mio cugino pazzo. He’s mad at my father and is trying to kill me for it.”  ‘[My crazy cousin.]’ You finished and took another long sip of your cocktail. June and Dottie stared with their mouths agape. You calmly set down your drink and smiled shyly, eyes bouncing between the girls. You loved your friends, honestly. The three of you have been close since you were young teens. June and Dot also had connections to the Italian mafia, their fathers having run a section of both New York and New Jersey; although they aren't as intertwined as you. June is the oldest, one year older than yourself. She’s an old soul, that you know for sure. She wears dated clothes and uses dated household items; in fact, you can't recall June ever purchasing something new from the stores you and Dot go to. Hell, even her car is a 1978 AMC Pacer. Dottie is only a few months older than you, on the other hand. She is the spitting image of a pinup girl. She wears her hair in elegant waves and has bangs, she even wears button up dresses and has big hair bows for when shes feeling fancy. You can’t recall a time when she didn’t wear red lipstick nearly everyday.
“Should you even be outside?” Dottie whispered, leaning closer to your figure. Her New York accent was a little amplified by the drinks she’s had already. You shrugged as your answer, and June scoffed.
“You, (Y/N), are unbelievable.” The waiter to walked up to your table, halting your conversation. The three of you blinked at the other, little grins holding back giggles ready to erupt. The waiter asked for your orders, then as soon as the young man had left, you jumped right back into it.
“You guys should see my bodyguard.” You spoke, a smirk donning your face. Your mind wondered as to what he was up to right now. Maybe he's still sitting waiting for you to exit the bathroom, or, maybe he's already begun the witch hunt.
“Ah, yes. John? As you've mentioned. Show us! the way you've described him- He sounds gorgeous.” Dottie eagerly bounced in her seat, urging you to show them a picture. You pulled out your phone, stomach dropping at the several messages that donned the lock screen; John’s contact name on each one. Witch hunt is it.
12:47: Very funny. Where are you?
12:59: Where are you.
1:13: (Y/N). This isn’t a game.
1:21: I’m coming to find you.
At least it took him almost an hour and a half to notice. You bit your cheek, looking up at June and Dottie. The two girls were engaged in conversation, talking about something or another. You cleared the notifications and unlocked your phone, hoping to god you got to finish your lunch before John caught up. You opened the camera roll and scrolled through until you found a picture of you and the bodyguard. Somehow, you'd gotten him to agree to a photo. He was bent over so his head was level with your own. Due to the lighting, the man was squinting, however the dark gaze caused a chill to form down your back. You cleared your throat and flipped your phone around to show the girls. Dottie stopped talking and immediately looked at the screen
“Oh my god.” She murmured, sitting back and putting her hand over her chest. “He’s so handsome.” June grabbed the phone from you to get a better look.
“You have to fuck him.” The eldest commented with a nonchalant shrug of her shoulders. You let out a short laugh, snatching your phone back from the girls grasp. The two girls giggled at your embarrassment, Dot even took a coy sip from her drink.
“Was that gray in his beard? How old is he?” Dottie asked, looking you in the eye and sipping on her own cocktail.
“Don’t laugh, okay? He’s mid fifties.” A blush crawled across your cheeks as your words escaped your lips. June and Dottie blinked a couple times before Dot finally let out a snort.
“Going geriatric, now? hm?” June spoke, raising her brow and taking a gulp of her drink. While Dottie laughed at June’s question, you glanced over their shoulders, witnessing two burly men sit down at a table across from yours. One of them made eye contact with you, glare evident in their gaze, before looking back to their buddy. You felt your skin crawl and cleared your throat, pushing the feeling away. June’s laughter brought you back, now looking between the two girls again.
“Well, He- He really doesn't feel old. Not when we're together.” You shrugged, playing with the condensation on your drink.
“I mean, you’re only twenty-six,” Dot spoke, her eyes glancing between you and June. “You’re young and hot. I don't see an issue.” Your eyes shot up to meet Dottie’s. She smiled at you, her dark brown eyes warming your core.
“Who are we to judge,” June began, a laugh escaping her throat. “I slept with that old guy, remember? He was, like, almost sixty and I was drunk as hell.” You and Dottie laughed, remembering that night. It was June’s twenty-third birthday. You three went to the club to celebrate and the eldest of your group ended up getting too wasted on absinthe. Which resulted in her sleeping with Mitch Johnson, an old friend of your fathers. Small world.
“And you,” June pointed to Dottie, “Are a homewrecker.”
“He never said he was married.” Dottie responded, sticking her tongue out at the woman. The three of you chuckled amongst yourselves before a silence took over. Your eyes once again scanned the room, not being able to shake the eerie feeling those two men implanted. They still sat across the diner and occasionally their eyes would make contact with your own, causing a chill to run up your spine. You quietly flipped your phone over, checking for any more messages from John. The screen remained blank, setting panic to freely course through your veins. His previous message was sent fifteen minutes ago, which meant the man was probably on his way right now. Plus, your parents didn’t live far from Coopers.
The men both stood up now, locking eyes with you. They then looked at the other, as though confirmation was in order, before beginning to walk in the direction that you and the girls sat. Anxiety courses firmly through your veins now, and you could feel your palms gather sweat.
“Girls,” You murmured, gathering their attention. “There are two men walking in our direction now, and I’m pretty sure they are after me.” You kept your voice low, trying to pretend as though you are oblivious. June and Dottie became physically uncomfortable, now shifting in their seats and looking over their shoulders. You felt guilt cross your person, now realizing how serious the situation is. You put your two best friends in harm's way. I mean, It’s not like they’re completely useless; they have parents in the Mafia, they’re trained in combat and weaponry. However, the guilt still bothered you that it was your fault.
“How do we go about this?” Dot asked, reaching for her purse. Your eyes watched as the woman dug into her bag. The pop of a gun chamber sounded as she began to fill it with bullets. June tied her hair back and began to stretch her arms. You sometimes forget that June is trained extensively in Jiu Jitsu. You also looked back to the men who were still making their way to you, passing through the crowded dining room floor.
“Should we leave the public space?” You murmured, “I don’t want civilian casualties.”
“Yes.” June agreed, standing up. “Gather your things, quickly.” She added. The oldest tossed a fifty dollar bill onto the table to pay for the drinks and the food you didn’t get to eat. You led the way, pushing through the crowded dining room to the exit. You glanced back, seeing the men become more frustrated. You are aware of the other, knowing what little cat and mouse game was occurring.
Your palms shoved the door open, the three of you stumbling over onto the sidewalk. You looked both ways before leading right. You didn’t know what to do, whether you should try to outrun them, or stick up and fight. Maybe if you kill them it’ll send a message to Santino. Though, he may not even care. As he’s got twenty more men to fill the space those two would leave. You made sure June and Dottie still followed, checking over your shoulder occasionally. The three of you pushed through the crowds of New York, your main destination being Dottie’s vehicle. Your eyes also kept a lookout for John. He probably tracked your phone, you knew he had the ability anyways. You’re just glad the little ploy worked for as long as it did. You turned right down an alleyway, taking a shortcut towards the parking garage that Dot’s car was in. June looked over her shoulder, alarm blaring through her veins as she spotted the men.
“They’re still behind us.” She spoke, looking between you and Dottie. You took a deep breath, placing your hands on your hips.
“Va al diavolo!” ‘[Go to hell!]’ You cursed, throwing your hands up. Dot quickly grabbed you by the arm, pulling you as she began to run to the end. June grunted as the three of you approached a dead end, meeting a chain link fence.
“Fanculo. Okay, you two climb over.” ‘[Fuck.]’ You spoke, gesturing to the fence that stood in front of you. Your eyes met those of your friends, all breathing heavily from the sprint. Echoed footsteps could be heard at the entrance of the alley. You glanced over your shoulder, seeing the silhouettes of the men headed in your direction.
“Go!” You spoke with a harshness towards your friends.
“Not without you!” Dottie raised her tone, hands on hips. You turned your head again, seeing them get closer.
“Dot, just go!” You finally yelled. The girls hesitated, however respected your wishes and quickly climbed the fence, hopping to the other side. They stood now, staring as the men approached, getting ready to jump back over if need be.
“Santino it ha Inviato?” ‘[Did Santino send you?]’ You asked the men, slowly walking towards them.
“Si.” ‘[Yes.]’ One responded, their faces finally becoming clear from the backlight. You looked at them, noting how they both looked like average Italian men. Dark hair, olive eyes, and warm skin. Their faces were covered in a few scars, and you noted how they both wore suits with visible holsters resting on their hips
“It ha mandato per uccidermi?” ‘[Did he send you to kill me?]’ You asked, the men now only ten feet away from you. The darkness of the alley sent a chill down your spine, and you glanced back at the girls to make sure they were alright. Dot had her hand in her purse, most likely gearing up for when shit turned sideways. June held a stoic look, almost a resting bitch face, staring down the two men.
“Si.” The same one answered again. They now stood only five feet away, stopping in front of you. You felt the sweat drip down your forehead, the buggy summer heat beginning to take claim of your body. You took a deep breath, wondering where John was, and how now would be a good time for him to suddenly appear. The men cracked their knuckles, rolling their shoulders and looking at you with sinister smiles.
“Di ‘a Santino: E un peccato che sia troppo codardo per uccidermi.” ‘[Tell Santino: It’s a shame he’s too much of a coward to kill me himself.]’ You spoke, remembering the moves that your bodyguard had taught you. You leapt forward, first knocking one of the men down by pushing in his kneecaps. You took the moment to quickly hit the next guy, however, he blocked your blow, sending you back a few feet. The second man took advantage of your hesitation and grabbed you, throwing you into one of the walls. You let out a yelp, feeling the brick scrape bare skin harshly. The first guy stood up, and threw a fist at you, however, you quickly dodged and used his own momentum to toss his body into the wall.
You felt as the second lackey quickly punched your gut, causing you to double over in pain. June and Dottie stood yelling which you could hear through ringing ears. You recovered quickly, countering the second man with a swift kick to his shin. He groaned, but recovered and swung a fist at you. You managed to dodge the blow and delivered a hearty boot to his groin. He quickly dropped to the ground in pain and you grabbed the pistol from his holster, pulling the trigger and placing one bullet into his skull. The second man used this moment to grab your loose shirt, and throw you into the brick, scraping your skin once again. He lifted his foot and conveyed a kick to your gut, sending you to double over. He used his fist to hit the sides of your face, throwing your head back and forth. You could feel blood begin to drip down your face, the pain that each snap of your neck caused, you could hear June and Dot yelling but it was faint. Time felt slowed, your heartbeat was like a drum in your ear. Then, a gunshot.
All movements stopped, followed by the thud of a body hitting the ground near your own. You slowly slid down, ignoring the burning chafe the brick left. Hot tears stung your eyes as you covered them with your hands, a harsh sob leaving your throat. Your body ached, your face burned, and blood was the only taste that donned your mouth. You heard the chain link rattle as somebody climbed over it, as well as a huff when they landed. A gentle hand placed itself on your shoulder, and you saw as they knelt down, due to the shadow.
“(Y/N).” John. A hoarse cry escaped your throat upon hearing your bodyguards gentle voice. He wasn’t angry, like you expected. Instead, his tone seemed more worried than anything. You managed to look up at the man from your hands, your eyes greeting the sight of his own.
“Oh my god, (Y/N)!” You heard Dottie yell as she approached your side. The two girls quickly examined your body, nearly shoving John out of the way.
“I fucked up.” You didn’t even recognize your voice as you spoke— your throat burned. June dotted your bloody forehead with a napkin from Dot’s purse.
“We should get her back home.” Dottie murmured, looking up at John. The dark haired man nodded, agreeing with the woman. June moved out of the way so he could scoop you into his arms. You lay your head onto his chest, faintly hearing the sound of his heartbeat and breathing. The man carried you out of the alley with June and Dottie close behind. You felt the summer sun warm your face as you exited the cool shade of the alleyway. The fresh breeze brought your attention to the cuts on your face, feeling the coolness from the semi-dried blood. Dottie opened the vehicles door and John placed you in the passenger seat, buckling your body firmly in. The two girls hopped into the back, John promising they’d be returned to their car later this evening. You heard the rumble of the engine, and closed your eyes, feeling tiredness numb the pain that ravaged your figure.

“How long have you been employed by the (Y/L/N)’s?” Dottie’s gentle voice quietly echoed throughout your bedroom. Mellow sun rays shone in through the window, casting a warm haze throughout the space. After the incident in the alleyway, John brought you, Dottie, and June back to your parents estate. However, after you all got back, John discovered they'd left on business to Rome for a few days. He carried your figure all the way from the car to your bed, carefully depositing you. Dot and June then got to work, bandaging your wounds, though after you seemed stable and well asleep, they backed off and let you get some rest. Now, John watched as Dottie cared for your sleeping figure. His heart couldn’t help but ache to see you so helpless laying there. Your face had been drained of some of its color, leaving it more pale and sickly. Your hair stuck to your skin, and a thin layer of sweat covered your body. Your bodyguard wanted so badly to climb into the bed with you, stroke your hair from your face, tend to your bandages, hold you, kiss you.
“Month and a half.” John answered, looking over to the woman. She nodded at his answer, dotting your forehead with a wet washcloth. The woman sat next to your bed with a rag in hand, occasionally cleaning your skin of sweat and dried blood specs. June was asleep on the small couch you had in your bedroom next to one of the windows. John stood on the opposite side of the bed from Dottie, watching her every movement when it came to caring for you. Occasionally your body would stir, but you still hadn’t woken up since the car— four hours ago.
“Are you liking it?” The vintage dressed woman asked, a smirk crossing her red lips. She cast her eyes between John and your sleeping figure, hinting as to what she was meaning.
“I am.” He responded. Dottie noticed his softened gaze when he looked towards you. She glanced back down at your face, wiping your skin with the washcloth gently. Your brow bone contained a nasty laceration and your cheekbone held a nice bruise with a cut as well. There was also a gash on your bottom lip, and your left eye held a hefty black bruise. That man really got ahold of you.
“They're a good family. I know Francesco means well,” Dot murmured, “Speaking of, have you let them know?” John watched as the woman stood up and walked to the bathroom retrieving a fresh bowl of water for your face.
“I called Francesco shortly after we arrived here.” The dark haired man spoke. He sat on the edge of the bed, leaning towards your figure. He brushed away a few strands of hair that had fallen in your face. His thumb caressed your cheek afterwords, carefully avoiding the wounds that donned your skin. He felt your body stir, and a quiet groan escape your lips as you started to wake up. Dot walked back into the room, noting Johns figure looming over your own. A little smirk crossed her lips as she set the bowl down on the nightstand. You peeked your eyes open for a second, wincing at the brightness of the room.
“Good afternoon, sleepy.” Dottie smiled, sitting beside your figure again. “Careful.” She murmured, watching as you shifted to sit up a little better. You knew Dottie was next to you, but could feel the weight of somebody on your other side. A large hand quietly placed itself on the side of your arm and you looked to see who it belonged to.
“How do you feel?” John’s words were gently spoken. His fingers squeezed your arm slightly before he released.
“M-my throat hurts.” Your voice came out scratchy and withered sounding. Dottie quickly placed a cool glass of water into your palms, hers then wrapping around yours before releasing entirely. You gave her the best smile you could manage, due to your cuts, before sipping the drink. John stood up from the bed and made a comment about going to grab pain medicine before he exited your bedroom.
“I'm going to wake up June.” Dottie spoke, walking over to her sleeping position by the window. You blinked your eyes, feeling the pain from the cuts, and groaned silently. It was stupid of you to think you could take on both of them. Your training with John was going fine, you figured if you at least got one down… No matter, at least you were still alive. The footsteps of your two friends caught your attention as the girls returned to your side. June immediately began to gush over how happy she was you were awake and okay, hugging you tightly.
“We thought you were a goner.” The girl whispered, worry still evident in her tone. You raised your brows but winced as the sting from the cut became overwhelming.
“I'm glad John showed up when he did. Like a superhero. He stood there with his gun and you should've seen the animalistic look in his eye.” Dottie sighed dreamily, “You are one lucky girl.”
“I know about your ‘no dating’ rule, however, I don't think you should let this one get away.” June commented quietly, brushing some hair from your face. Dot agreed, shaking her head vigorously. The three of you cut the conversation short as John's footsteps echoed closer. He entered the room quietly and padded over to the bed, handing you a bottle of painkillers. Your fingers brushed as the container was passed and you felt a longing for the touch to remain; however just as the warmth arrived, it left.

June and Dottie stayed over for another hour before leaving. They helped you change your clothes and settle in for the night before they left you in the capable hands of John. The two of you remained in your bedroom the rest of the evening. You went in and out of sleep a few times. One time, you woke to the man humming quietly while sitting in bed next to your figure. Another, he was checking your bandages and cleaning the sheen of sweat from your skin. Maybe what June said is right, you can’t let John get away. Nobody has cared for you like he has. But that begged the question, would he even want to be with you? You’re half his age and apart of a mafia family. Plus, you still don't know much about him; his past, his home life, etc. He is a mysterious being, quiet too. It only made you want to know more.
“John?” You murmured, gathering the strength to sit up. It was late evening now, just past eight. The summer sun had just set, leaving a gray tone to cover the space.
“Yes?” He answered, turning to face you. He had been sitting at your desk, cleaning his gun.
“Parlami di te.” ‘[Tell me about yourself.]’ The man responded to your request by putting down the parts in his hand. He then quietly cleaned his fingers of grime before standing up and padding over to you, but not sitting.
“What would you like to know?” He murmured. You studied his face for a moment, taking in the features he donned. His normally combed hair was disheveled now and he had bags under his eyes. He wore a suit and shoes too, obviously still dressed for work.
“Everything.” You replied, ignoring the throb of pain that coursed through your body. John nodded, then loosened the tie from his around neck. He shed off his suit jacket next, leaving him in a black button up and vest on top. You admired his figure in the darkening room. He stood tall, confident, maybe a little tired, but didn't let it show much. The man settled on the edge of your bed, by your feet. The room remained silent for a few moments; you not daring to speak, and John taking the time to gather his thoughts.
“I was married.” John’s voice was so soft, you had to lean towards him to hear better. The man kept his gaze towards his hands, fidgeting with his fingers.
“Was?” You asked, pushing aside the slight feeling of jealousy that rose.
“She- she passed due to an illness years back.” The bodyguard paused.
“Oh. I’m sorry to hear that.” You let out quietly, as to not bother John’s story process.
“I was retired and wanted to live my days as a widower, however I was dragged back into the business by an old friends’ idiot son.” The man sighed, pushing some fallen hair behind his ear. You caught a glimpse at how sad he appeared, and felt an urge to comfort him. Pain shot through your body as you scooted down the bed until you were close enough to John. You grabbed his hand and his fingers instinctively intertwined with your own, making you realize just how large his palms actually were. It felt right, his hand being wrapped with your own.
“Ever since then, I haven't left the business again. I see no point. I can't seem to leave anyways, I keep getting dragged back in.” He sighed heavily and you began to rub your thumb along his hand, as your way of comforting him. He fell silent, but you didn't push anymore questions just yet. He was being open and raw, which was probably difficult for the man to do. If he wanted to tell his story, he would. You wanted to know more, obviously, about the kind of work he's done; his jobs, the people he’s met, and if he knew anyone in your family. You wanted to know why the man was so troubled, and why it seemed everybody is against him.
“Will you stay with me tonight?” Your voice escaped softly, barely above a whisper. John's hand squeezed your own, before he finally made eye contact with you. His dark gaze caused a chill to slither down your spine.
“Yes.” He spoke softly, “I need to go change.” He gave your hand one last squeeze before removing it and standing up. You watched as his figure walked across your room and disappeared behind the door. It only took him about five minutes before he returned, ready for bed. Sure, it was barely nine, but you figured you could put on a movie. You drank in the sight of him, admiring his pajamas. Blue with plaid stripes, and a plain white t-shirt. You’ve never seen him in anything but a suit, nevermind the sweatsuit outfit from when you train. This is different than that, this is a side of John that doesn't say ‘Hey, i'm a killer!’ This side is domestic; make you coffee and toast in the morning domestic.
“Would you like to watch a movie?” You then asked, watching him tidy up his mess from cleaning his gun, which he didn't finish.
“Sure.” He responded, walking over and climbing onto the bed next to your figure. You turned on your TV, and picked a movie from a streaming service, before fully settling in. You scoot your body close enough to John’s that you were able to lay your head on his chest. The man wrapped his arm around your shoulder, pulling you even closer, but gently as to not cause you more pain. You listened to his heartbeat as it slowed to a resting rhythm, and then closed your eyes letting sleep overcome your senses.
