So I've noticed that the Bat fandom is split between those who ship the Batboys with each other, and those who very adamantly don't. Like, to an aggressive degree. It's honestly pretty hilarious.

I, myself, am a connoisseur of both. I can appreciate quality content of the Batboys being either brotp or otp, sometimes even both at the same time, it honestly doesn't matter. But some of you guys have obviously never had an adopted sibling/relative and it shows. Like, it really fucking shows, oh my god.

I keep seeing this really upsetting thing where people keep justifying their ship by literally saying that it's cool and totally not weird because the boys "aren't really related" and that they "aren't real brothers"?? Like, what the actual fuck guys?? Do you honestly not understand how absolutely disgusting and horrible that is to say?? You're literally saying that being legally adopted doesn't make you family. That shit is so not it. Ship who you want to ship, it's honestly nobody's business, but don't invalidate their relationship like that. Don't invalidate adopted sibling relationships in general like that. Adopted siblings are real siblings.

Sexuality Headcanon- cis and bi, pretty clear cut lol. He does have a slight preference for men though.

First Headcanon that pops into my head- Hot Take: Tim does not like coffee. Just too bitter for him no matter how much he tries to mask it. He likes tea better as his morning beverage. And when the situation calls for it, he will down 5 monster energies to pull an all nighter. (the situation calls for it often)

Favourite line from this character- "Why can't anyone be just whelmed?" Can you tell I've been watching young justice?

One way in which I relate to this character- I guess I relate to the fact that Tim feels as though he forced himself into the batfamily. I may be reading too many fanfics with that interpertation. I feel the same way when I'm trying to make and maintain friends.

The that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character- How much the fandom overplays the coffee thing imo. Like anytime I'm reading a fic and someone threatens tim by taking away his coffee, I cringe. But it's honestly kinda camp at this point lol.

Random Headcanon: As a little boy growing up with his parents, Dick had a habit of being a little sneaky if his Mother Mary was still asleep, taking a blue (or black) marker pen and proceeding to doodle on her. Usually he doodles on her two feet as they usually poke out of the blankets, drawing some smiley faces on her toes among other things. Mary in truth is awake by pretends being asleep anyways cause she doesn’t wanna ruin his fun.

Unpopular opinion: I am still waiting patiently for Dick and Kory to not only be married but also have two beautiful children and be just a loving, caring and adventurous family altogether, DC. It’s never too late.

A random headcanon: he is a chronic clothes thief. at one point bart stays the night with him and goes to borrow a shirt from his closet, then goes home and ends up having to explain to wally "no, i didn't steal your shirt, why would i do that? i stole it from tim. who took it from dick, who took it from donna, who took it from you. jeez." kon laments how many of his coziest hoodies "mysteriously" vanish every time tim comes over. on one occasion cassie spent half an hour searching for a specific crop top only for tim to walk in wearing it, at which point she went "YOU!" and tackled him and physically wrested it off over his head. nonetheless, he remains unrepentant to this day.

General Opinion over said character: there are so many things wrong with him and i love him deeply. what a guy. look at him go!

5: first headcanon that pops into my head - He'll insult people under his breath in Arabic when they're not paying attention to him, only to go "nothing" when they ask what he just said. It was the filthiest shit known to man.

favorite thing about them - he's a fucking chaos gremlin who routinely lied to literally everyone, fought the Joker when that was the one thing on earth he'd been forbidden from doing, and sometimes fucked off to outer space without bothering to tell an adult. least favorite thing about them - whatever the hell they did to his backstory in New 52.

Character ask: Ebenezer Scrooge (A Christmas Carol)

No one requested this, but I answered asks for all the other main Christmas Carol characters last year, so it's high time I answered one for the iconic protagonist.

Favorite thing about them: His redemption arc, and how kind, generous, and full of joy he becomes by the end. Also the fact that Dickens breaks the standard rule of "Make the protagonist likable" and depicts a very unpleasant man, yet throws him into situations that make us engage with him even before he becomes likable, and then steadily earns our sympathy for him.

Least favorite thing about them: Well, he's obviously not a good person at the beginning of the story. That's the whole point.

Three things I have in common with them:

*I tend to be less social than many people are.

*I can be greedy and self-absorbed at times, though I try not to be.

*I try to be generous to those in need, as he is by the end.

Three things I don't have in common:

*I'm not an elderly British man.

*I'm not a business owner.

Random headcanon: He's of Scottish descent. His family's surname was originally the Scottish "Scroggie" (from which Dickens may have derived his name in real life), but they Anglicized it to "Scrooge" when they came to England.

Unpopular opinion: Even though almost every adaptation shows him sharing romantic moments with Belle at Fezziwig's party, in the book I don't think their engagement took place until after his apprenticeship with Fezziwig. In the scene showing Belle with her husband and children on the night Marley died, her youngest child is just a baby, so she was still of childbearing age just 7 years before Scrooge's redemption. This seems to imply that she's much younger than Scrooge. I don't mind this fact; age gaps were common between couples of their generation. But apprentices in that era were usually teenagers, so unless teenage Scrooge started courting Belle when she was 10 or 11 years old, I sincerely doubt they were already sweethearts when he was Fezziwig's apprentice.

Forever obsessed with how the Blackest Night Batman tie-in and Red Robin #12-14 emphasize that Tim, even at one of THE absolute rockiest points in their relationship, instantly picks up the phone when Dick calls, comes home when he asks, and trusts him on a dime (and receives that trust in return from Dick)

Like Tim is really out here in a self-destructive depressive spiral pushing everyone away and ignoring their calls and attempts to help him and he STILL picks up the phone when Dick calls! I'm obsessed!

The amount of love, trust, and respect Dick and Tim show for each other even in the absolute bombshell fallout that is the aftermath of Final Crisis/Battle for the Cowl is ASTOUNDING, and the fact that more people don't talk about it in favor of pretending Dick and Tim were at each other's throats during this era...awful. I refuse to let it stand. They're brothers, Your Honor! They love each other to bits even when they're hurt and miscommunicating!

Dickkory- especially in the cartoons and in the 80s/90s comics, the perfect relationship who deserved to get married, if Clark and Lois and Barry and Iris can do it so can Dick and Kori.

• Favorite thing about them: He's cocky because he's good and he knows he's good. Also, he loves so fucking hard that it's stupid, and I love that for him.

• Least favorite thing about them: oh lord okay, my least favorite thing about Jason is that sometimes his temper gets the better of him, and he doesn't think about how much like Bruce he is in those moments.

• Favorite line: "Take it from me. Angry people are always looking for someone to help them direct their rage."

• brOTP: jason/roy and donna/jason. Their friendship means a lot to me.

• random headcanon: Jason learned how to sew as a kid because he grew up poor, and you can't always afford to replace clothes when you can't even afford food. Alfred caught him sewing up a hole in a pair of jeans and had to explain to him that he didn't have to do that anymore. Coming back as Red Hood, that skill came in handy more than it did as a kid, sad as that may be.

• Unpopular opinion: idk if its unpopular, but I think him using the crowbar as a weapon and making jokes about it is hilarious because I cope with my own issues in similar ways (note: I didn't say it was a good thing, don't get it twisted lmao)
