surprising no one, i’ve become obsessed with the Black Phone. so here are my headcanons about each of the babies.

Finney

aside from seeing ghosts, he hallucinates after getting out. mostly phones ringing but also the sound of a belt snapping together. sometimes he sees blood dripping from walls or broken glass on the floor

he has the same hair as his mom, his dad doesn’t know how to take care of it. that’s why his curls are so undefined.

he started playing pinball after recovering. he hasn’t quite been able to reach Vance’s high score, but he’s getting close

he loves Star Wars and somehow convinced Gwen to dress up as Luke and Leia with him. (he called that Vader was both of their father’s too)

he learned how to speak spanish from Robin’s family (and constantly watching Robin’s mouth when he talked). the first time his extended family visited for a birthday party, they all thought Finney was just a really pale latino

he and Gwen have sleepovers every thursday night where they go down the events of their week and eat copious amounts of junk food

he works on the Hubble Space Telescope as an adult.

Robin

he cries to Selena’s music, especially after he realized that he had feelings for Finney

he has ADHD and that’s why it’s so difficult for him to focus on a teacher that talks too fast

he has comorbid autism too, and his special interest is slasher movies, his favorite will always be the original silent horrors, but he’s a big fan of jump scares

the only jewelry (aside from friendship bracelets that Finney makes him) that he’ll wear are his confirmation chain and the small gold ring he got from his grandfather

he has just a fuck ton of siblings, as well as a twin sister who is exactly like him. he gets along with all of them and they all look out for each other

if he had survived, he wanted to be a stuntman or a director. no one ever explained to him that he could be both

he insults people in spanish but says it in a nice way so they think he’s saying something sweet. sometimes he does it just to make Finney laugh.

Vance

AUTISM. THIS MAN IS SO AUTISM CODED

pinball and silent movies are his special interests. he steals pinball machines that arcades throw out and has seen every charlie chaplin movie ever made

he goes out of his way to feed stray dogs, stray cats, and he always makes sure to let ducks/geese pass. he also stops his car to help turtles get across the road, but only if no one is around

his dad fucked off somewhere after the first time he got arrested, his mom does her best but she’s practically always gone at work. he doesn’t resent her but he hates his dad

if he had survived he would’ve started a shitty punk band where he made music about his trauma. he only likes loud noises when he’s the one making them

he has really bad sensory issues and wears the same clothes for days on end, if anyone brings it up, he gets a nice stim moment out of beating them up

when he was younger, his mom called him little wolf because he would bite people if he was given the opportunity. she still calls him that if he’s sick or injured while she’s around

Griffin

loud af because he was half deaf. his mom was born deaf and his father lost his hearing because of genetic condition that ended up killing him, but he’s half deaf because he was hit by a baseball when he was three

not even the cia could get this out of him, but he so badly wants to be like vance. he thinks vance is the coolest motherfucker ever

his younger brother is in one of Gwen’s classes and both of them are just absolutely terrified of her. his brother has a little crush on her though

he really wanted to ask Finney if he could check on his mom, but he could only repeat himself, it sucked

he loves comedies, anything satirical or sarcastic is his absolute favorite though. this man would eat up twitter and tiktok

if he had survived, he would’ve become a middle school history teacher, mostly because he loves teaching ancient egypt and other ancient civilizations

he loves kids, he only has a little brother but he hangs out with his brother’s friend group more than anyone his age

Paperboy

(to preface this, headcanons. thank you) it prefers it/its pronouns mostly because it really never felt quite human. not in a kinnie way, just in a neurodivergent way

its dog’s name is cain. one because he attacks other dogs, but only of the same breed and two because it thinks that naming a canine, cain is really funny.

it loves sweet things. milkshakes, candy, baked goods? all of that, those are basically its favorite food

if it had survived, it would’ve become a journalist. it really liked reading the newspaper and doing the crossword

it once slept outside for a week after an argument with its mom. cain slept next to it to keep it company.

Paperboy knows that it probably shouldn’t steal things from places like Walmart and Walgreens but at the same time, it’s never been caught.

its dad was a greaser in the 50s and it absolutely idolizes that aesthetic, like it thinks the 50s were the perfect time period

Bruce

his mom is a teacher and he takes naps in her class when he has free periods and no homework

he idolizes bruce lee and is always super happy when someone points out that they have the same name. action movies are his favorite

he has pretty good grades, but he would drop anything for a baseball game, he knows he’s good and he loves winning. he’s played on four travel teams

his family isn’t religious, so the first time he ever celebrated christmas was with his baseball team. he bought them all gifts and kept the gifts that they game him in his bedroom

if he had survived, he would’ve wanted to go pro in baseball. he might’ve been able to. his backup plan was marketing, mostly because he’d be able to talk to a lot of people

he was homecoming king at his school, partially because he’s a class favorite and partially because no one ran against him

he has a pet goldfish that is his best friend, her name is goldie but his parents just call her fish

Gwen

she learns how to better control her talents and becomes a detective. she names her detective agency after her mom

her favorite color is purple but she never wears it, she claims that the rarity of it is what makes it so special

she leaves her hair in braids for no more than six hours, she’s seen how long it takes for Finney to make his hair look decent, she has no desire for curly hair

her favorite hobby is creative writing. after Finney went missing, she stopped writing. mostly because she only wrote horror stories.

her dad tried to force her to learn to play piano, but stopped after she figured out how to do the talking piano illusion and made it call him a bastard

she tries not to be super protective, but she always asks her friends if they want her to walk with them when they go somewhere. especially if it’s a day where she’s nervous

she absolutely hates spending more than two hours alone, she always wants someone to talk to, usually that person is one of her friends or Finney

Cool! May I request an aromantic!jotaro getting a hardcore squish on a nonbinary, cool but shy classmate that dreams of being a conservation biologist? Like he wants a queerplatonic relationship with them but doesn’t know how to go about it (this is kujo we’re talking about he struggles with the feels). It doesn’t help that they’re oblivious to his uncharacteristic interest in them (though they think his presence is nice) and he’s trying his best to get to know them without being an ass. How does their relationship come to be?

Fun fact: I had to force myself to sit down and actually write this, because I was so excited about it that I would just start to do stimming, flapping my hands and giggling, which obviously didn't help me write 💀

This happens after the Egypt trip, in which everyone survived and Jotaro went back to school and meet reader

okay so there's actually two answers to this cause two different phases of life

when theyre teenagers and on the journey to egypt, they sleep in the same bed often they very much like being close cause physical touch is easier than words for both of them. it takes then a bunch of tries to find a position they like that involved a lot of accidental elbowing/kneeing/limbs falling asleep that they both bitch about greatly, but eventually they find that jotaro likes tucking himself underneath kakyoin's chin before wrapping all around him, meanwhile kakyoin is just splayed over jotaro with no regard for his comfort tbh but jotaro doesn't actually care cause he likes the pressure of kakyoin's limbs even if he's not holding him properly. they try spooning once but they both get too embarrassed to lay like that long. sometimes they hold hands WAH

once theyre older however it gets a bit more complicated. w kakyoin's back the way it is he needs a special mattress/mattress pad which jotaro might not like the feel of cause autismo (sensitive senses also he doesnt like changes from what he expects a mattress to be like) and kakyoin can't lay in as many positions as he used to. but they both really do fucking like lying down next to each other esp cause, for reasons, i think kakyoin gets quite attached to being able to hear/feel jotaro's heartbeat when falling asleep, so they do their absolute best to meet in the middle. i do think they have their own separate rooms just cause theyre both reserved and need their own space but they often spend the night in one or the other together. since kakyoin can't like. fall asleep outright on his side anymore, he'll often be on his back and jotaro will drape over him and just hgnghnn. and kakyoin will wrap his arms around jotaro so he still gets some pressure and wahhh. sometimes if kakyoin wants to sleep on his stomach he'll flop on top of jotaro and just lay like that and jotaro is like hearteyes cause ultimate pressure stimming

also there is a lot of pillow blanky cause kakyoin is a) a diva and b) since he got his core punched out of his body he has a hard time maintaining his body temp so he needs all the scraps of warm he can get. so a nice blanket and a nice jotaro do well to keep him warm in the night....heh. jotaro can overheat due to this arrangement so he tends to sleep with little clothes when there's a thick blanket but like in the summer it's just jotaro over kakyoin and AURUHG. i whimper

Hi raay, just some parallels for you if you’re interested- sort of reminded me of your greek mythology meta

I was looking at the little statuette of callum holding up the cube (the key) to aaravos, and it just struck me as super familiar

and I realized- it looks similar to the style of a lot of ancient egyptian art. SO I did some peremptory art searches and I don’t think I’ve seen this mentioned before (?) but the amount of similarities between callum and the god thoth just jumped out

thoth is the god of scribes, writing, knowledge, art, and magic. He’s associated with the moon (though not the primary moon god). His primary animal is the ibis, and he’s often depicted either carrying his staff or writing implements; he also plays the role of advisor to the king/gods (and his wife ma’at is associated with justice, truth, and the moon/stars but I don’t know enough about her to say much about possible rayla parallels)

there’s one piece of art in particular, thoth giving the key of life to osiris, where thoth’s posture is kind of similar

osiris also has a couple aaravos parallels- he’s a sort of double god, being the king of the the underworld, associated with death but also the god of fertility and life. he was imprisoned in a coffin for a while, and when he was freed he was still confined to a half life and effectively banished to the underworld.

Idk if I’m grasping at straws here, but anyway, just thought it was interesting

I had to wait to answer this bc 1) this ask made me so happy I had to do a happy stim and 2) I wanted to be able to answer it properly with all my thoughts because AAHHH I love this so much and thank you so much for sharing it!! Please always feel free to send me parallels (and especially mythic ones). I was also struck that Callum’s pose with Aaravos felt familiar but couldn’t place it (thought maybe I was thinking about it in regards to one of Viren’s previous stances to Harrow or another character entirely) but you have such a good eye!

I kept trying to think of mythological keys but none in Grecian / Roman / Nordic mythos was really coming to mind, but I have thought that Aaravos’ symbol and chest vaguely reminded me of the Ankh although not a perfect fit I didn’t know it was seen as a Key of Life!!

I do know that Ibis was named for a sacred Egyptian bird (crew has confirmed) and the Thoth-Callum parallels are so strong, especially if Callum steps into Ibis’ role in S4 and is wielding his staff! I tried to look for info / myth retelling of Thoth giving the key to Osiris (who I think I got distracted by the possible Kronos parallels bc I know there are tellings where he got cut to pieces?) but you’re right

Also did some digging on the Ankh and

The association of the ankh with the mirror was no chance occurrence. The Egyptians believed that the afterlife was a mirror image of life on earth and mirrors were thought to contain magical properties. During the Festival of the Lanterns for the goddess Neith (another deity seen with the ankh) all of ancient Egypt would burn oil lamps through the night to reflect the stars of the sky and create a mirror image of the heavens on earth. This was done to help part the veil between the living and the dead so one could speak to those friends and loved ones who had passed on to paradise in the Field of Reeds. Mirrors were often used for divination purposes from the Middle Kingdom onwards. (citation)

as well as the Ankh featuring in stories of reviving (Osiris I suppose but perhaps sometimes others?) and bringing them back to life, which is what freeing Aaravos from his prison will supposedly achieve (jury’s still out if Aaravos is 100% being honest or will keep up his end of the deal, but I think he will)

Also Thoth being married to Ma’at whose associated with Truth, judgements / justice, hearts, and feathers? 👀

And it made me realize in addition to the Aaravos-Rayla parallels running throughout the first arc, Rayla is also the first character we see to make almost a formal test of love in the illusion trick with Soren and Claudia, in terms of trusting their love/loyalty to the princes, and they fail, miserably. Much to think about

Watching Mr. Peabody and Sherman as research for that AU concept you came up with, and within the first five minutes of the movie they’re in the French Revolution. Fantastic start.

So, as a list of destinations before that messed up part where time collapses into the present day that you want so badly to see, we have in order of possibilities:

French Revolution with Arno

A flashback montage with a lot of places that anything can be put into, but especially Altaïr and the Kenways

Ancient Egypt, which can be converted to Ptolemaic Egypt with Bayek

Renaissance Italy with Ezio and Leo

Trojan War, which can become Peloponnesian War with Kassandra

And then of course the collapse of the Space-Time Continuum.

So like. What if the Animus is a time travel device.

And The Grey (Animus Island) is a place you can get lost in while time traveling.

So you have Revelations and Clay and Desmond meet there, and Desmond ends up saving Clay and pushes him back into the present?

And you set things a bit differently so Desmond ends up raising Elijah, so when he disappears Clay ends up raising him instead and they’re on the run from Abstergo. Clay stole a time travel device and Elijah finds it and decides to go find his dad, which is why he jumps all over the place prior to the Continuum Collapse, and trying to find Desmond results in tearing the Continuum apart with all the time jumps.

So Elijah would be Sherman using the Animus, which was reverse engineered from Isu Calculations tech that they didn’t fully realize the ramifications of.
