organization 101

organization is about how we gather stimuli in our environment to complete tasks quickly and more effectively. it's about arranging our surroundings, providing order, and structuring items and activities around us.

this topic can be applied in so many instances - including physical spaces, digital files, schedules, and mental clarity.

staying organized offers several benefits:

★ when you're organized, you waste less time searching for things or figuring out what to do next. this efficiency leads to increased productivity

★ clutter and chaos can contribute to stress. an organized environment promotes a sense of calm and control.

★ organization helps you allocate time effectively. you can prioritize tasks and allocate resources efficiently.

★ a clutter-free workspace (or living space) allows you to concentrate better on the task at hand.

★ organized spaces encourage healthier habits, such as regular exercise, balanced meals, and adequate rest.

but how can you stay organized?

★ start with one area of focus (e.g. closet, desk, documents, ...) and gradually expand. focusing on one area allows you to see tangible progress, and as you declutter or organize, you'll build momentum to tackle other spaces.

trying to organize everything at once can be overwhelming. by narrowing your focus, you can prevent feeling swamped. concentrating on a specific area also allows you to learn effective strategies,, which you can apply to other parts of your life!

★ keep a to-do list. you can use a planner or digital tools to track tasks - and prioritize and sort tasks by urgency. write things down promptly to avoid forgetting them.

by freeing your mind from trying to remember all of your tasks, this mental offloading allows you to focus on the present moment. you can also assign urgency and importance, ensuring you will tackle what matters most.

★ give everything a home. clutter happens when items lack designated spaces. organize your physical and digital spaces intentionally.

★ once organized, maintain order consistently by building habits and systems. regularly review and adjust your systems when needed.

maintaining daily habits can significantly contribute to staying organized.

digital files

personally, the biggest issue i have with organization is building (and maintaining) a good system for digital files. it is crucial for me to learn how to organize these well, however, as a digital creator.

here is the process:

★ create a folder structure,, and design a clear hierarchy of folders that reflect your workflow. organize files logically based on projects, departments, dates, or file types.

at the moment i sort my files as content home < links, content plan, instagram, pinterest, tumblr, youtube < scheduling, post ideas

however, sometimes i find myself with documents that don't fit any of these sections. my plan for the future is to reorganize this to be the most effective it can.

★ use descriptive file names,, and name files clearly and concisely. include relevant keywords to make searching easier

★ consider using tags to categorize files across multiple dimensions. tags enhance searchability and allow flexible organization.

this is something that i am looking to employ!

★ utilize cloud services like google drive or dropbox for easy access from anywhere.

i will forever be a notion girl,, even though it is not quite a cloud service, it allows me a similar experience.

★ make decluttering a routine. delete duplicate or unnecessary files.

★ pin essential folders to your sidebar for quick access.

physical decluttering

writing this, i was reminded of the (horrid) bedrotting trend, especially those videos where people would show their rooms with shit everywhere and mould growing on stuff. i'm aware that some people find it super hard to maintain organization or declutter - hoarding is a very real issue.

the benefits of staying organized were previously mentioned, but decluttering specifically has its own little set of positives. this includes reduced stress, improved focus, enhanced productivity, and more positive overall wellbeing.

here are some essential tips if you are struggling to get started:

choose a small area or category to begin decluttering. set a timer (15-30 minutes) and sort items in that area into 'keep', 'donate', 'trash', or 'unsure' piles.

you could also attempt a room-by-room approach, by tackling one room at a time. focus on completing each room fully before moving on to the next.

try to organize your belongings into categories (keep, donate, sell, discard) to make decisions easier.

remember - progress comes from consistent effort, and small steps lead to a clutter-free space.

Is it alright if we politely point out a character's age if you forget to tag a minor poll?

Because the gender non-conforming poll with Jessie and Haruhi and some others I don't know anything about is missing that tag, and Haruhi is 15.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything, with tumblr fucking up and deleting all the polls you had in your queue, I can understand forgetting a tag on a couple posts.

Yes, this is when I need people to say something. Just comment that it's missing the tag, and I will fix it as quickly as possible. Especially right now, because a lot of The Pride Event requests, most of them just say assumed adults, so I have no clue if I need to add the #minor poll tag. I don't need the exact age of a character. I just want to know if I need to put the minor poll tag. I also sometimes make polls in a hurry and can miss it in a rush.

And people have lied about character ages before, So if you know something's off, say something. I've had people lie about a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old, saying they're 16 in the request. That's when you need to speak up, and I don't have a problem with that

“Heavy boots of lead, fills his victims full of dread,” Peter sings with emotion. “Running as fast as they can, Iron Man lives agaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAHHH MR. STARK WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!!!” His voice rises quite a few octaves.

Tony snorts rather loudly.

“No, keep going, I want to hear you do the guitar again,” he jokes.

“Have you been watching me this whole time?!”

“Shouldn’t your Peter Tingle detect me?”

Peter glares at him but decides not to comment.

“Just– forget it, Mr. Stark,” he groans, deciding to return to his homework.

“Aw, come on.”

“I’m procrastinating anyway,” Peter mumbles.

Tony just smiles at him. He already knew Peter would be in the workshop, but he wasn’t expecting to hear his mentee singing Tony’s favorite song. And knowing how to sing all the lyrics.

“You need any help, Ozzy?” He asks.

“No, Mr. Stark.”

“Alright. Call me if you need.”

Tony works on his own things and in the meantime… he realizes his other favorite songs and bands are playing. Back in Black, for starters. The one song Peter loves annoying him about – calling it a Led Zeppelin song, for crying out loud. Iron Maiden might play, too.

But there are some that aren’t part of Tony’s playlist. Some are actually more recent, such as Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, and Audioslave. Bands he doesn’t listen to as often, but they’re great ones.

“Wow, this playlist rocks,” Tony compliments. “Is it yours, Pete?”

Peter might tense at the question. “Uh… no, no. It’s just… playing on shuffle.”

Tony raises an eyebrow.

“... F.R.I.D.A.Y?”

“Wait–”

“The playlist is called ‘Iron Man vibes, three fire emojis’, created by Peter Parker.”

“I hate BOTH of you,” Peter whines.

“Ow, don’t say that to FRI. She’s sensitive.”

“It’s just a really dumb playlist I made when I was– a teenager.”

“Peter, you are a teenager.”

“It’s stupid, okay? I didn’t want you to know.”

Tony might soften the teasing for now.

“Ah, gee, kid. It’s not stupid. You made it.”

“Come on, of course it is–”

“It’s sweet and thoughtful of you.”

Peter’s glare stops resisting for too long. His blush is no longer out of embarrassment.

“Seriously, Pete, thanks.”

“... you’re welcome?”

“Will you send me the link?”

Peter considers and sighs. “Okay.”

He grabs his phone and does it rather quickly, not saying anything else.

“Thanks. I’m going to listen to it all the time from now on,” Tony promises.

Peter rolls his eyes affectionately.

They return to the comfortable silence and Peter’s playlist.

Until, suddenly…

“... Mr. Stark, please don’t tell me F.R.I.D.A.Y recorded my- my thing earlier.”

Tony smirks but doesn’t respond.

“Mr. Stark.”

“Don’t worry, kid, I’m not gonna post it online.”

Peter inhales.

“F.R.I.D.A.Y, delete that footage right now!!”

“I’m afraid the video has already been sent to Boss’ personal files.”

“MR. STARK!!!!!” Peter yells, wanting to kill Tony, who only laughs at his demise.

I can't believe I still have to see posts about how much better ROP would be if Celebrían was the lead vs. Galadriel. As someone who has Tolkien Brainrot, I understand the appeal, I really, really do. As someone who has had to interact with so many people who either do not care about Tolkien Lore but are interested in fantasy television shows or are Jackson film fans first/foremost/only, y'all. Galadriel is a known character and a decent intro to lesser known characters.

Hate to break it to y'all but Celebrían is OBSCURE. I'm pretty confident in saying that if you get outside of Tolkien Fandom online circles, you could tell people that Elrond was married to Galadriel's daughter and the response you would get would be, "oh, I didn't realize that" because it's touched so lightly in the films. Celebrían isn't even MENTIONED by name. Now that I think about it, I'm not even sure if anyone mentions that Galadriel and Arwen are related at all!

My point is the show is meant to appeal to more people than us over here with Tolkien Brainrot!!!!!! I love Celebrían, but Galadriel was an easier sell to the potential of a wider audience as a lead. For a show that needs to go through so much lore very quickly, having Galadriel as the lead because she's 1) female [the overwhelming amount of male characters vs. female characters in the Legendarium is another post], 2) relatively familiar, and 3) has a set characterization to lead toward for an arc vs. her barely-even-mentioned-in-LotR daughter is a no-brainer.

If you could make one change to TWD s4 what would it be?

a 5th episode. the whole season felt pretty rushed especially the final episode with it being an hour shorter than the 3 other eps. it wouldve been nice for it to get the breathing room it deserved. i understand its highly likely due to the fact that telltale was in the middle of going under and likely didnt have the budget to do it similar to the length of s1, and i know a lot was cut, which is really unfortunate

when it was still airing and we didnt know how it was going to end, i was expecting there to be about a full episodes length of time dedicated to the delta, but we really only get the raid at the end of ep3 which is about 30? ish minutes? out of a 2 and a half hour episode... i really wanted more delta. i wanted to know more about the actual base (not the boat) and the war they were fighting and with who. it felt like they set it up to be something bigger but it just never payed off? the kids just blow up the boat and go home lol and the delta group is no more quite easily (someones gotta be wondering what happened to an entire crew of people + a small ferry that took multiple horses with it plus weapons and ammunition, that left to find recruits for a war they were losing??). while i really enjoy the end of ep3 (its very intense), i Really wanted for the delta to be harder to fight/escape. the delta works Fine as an antagonistic force for s4 the way it is currently, but it couldve been fleshed out more. having lilly as the head of it (or at least the head of the expedition?) helps to give it more of an emotional impact but it still left me wanting...

in the beginning of ep 3 abel talks to clem about doing whatever it takes to protect his home/family (and how clem can relate to that, and how they are on opposite ends of the battle still fighting for the same thing). i wouldve liked to actually SEE more of this home and whats so worth kidnapping children and turning them into soldiers to fight for it. like they talk about how it actually seems like a pretty strong community with running water/food/heat/beds/walls/etc, like they try to make it a little bit of a grey area, but also they are making child soldiers which is...not very grey.... like we know theyve kidnapped kids in the past, and from the conversation with lilly it sounds like they take people of all ages with some sort of frequency. how does a group like that function? its definitely through fear and not loyalty. how many people are there willingly? how big is this community? is lilly the one in charge of the delta or does she also hold fear to someone higher up than her? is the only thing worth saving about this community the fact that it has created a "safe" place with bountiful resources? but is that worth saving/is it really safe if everyone there lives in fear? and how strong can a community actually be if ran only through fear?

these are not questions that are ever really asked let alone answered, and moreso are just given the middle finger to while the kids just focus on getting their friends back (which in fairness i guess still makes sense for a bunch of kids who dont care and are making their own community built around supporting/helping each other since they were all abandoned by the people who were supposed to take care of them (first their families then the school faculty). they dont give a shit they just want their friends back and fuck you die). it just feels like there was an Attempt to set something up, but they didnt have the time for a real payoff, and therefore just made them Evil... like we couldve put a little bit more of a focus on how both the delta and ericsons are fighting for the safety of their homes, but the delta is built around fear and force while ericsons is built around community and support and love

minnie is the most interesting part of the delta and its because of how conflicting she is as a character/how shes an example of this stark difference between ericsons and the delta, since she goes from being a supposedly sweet/non violent person at ericsons to being completely brain broken by the delta to the point that she kills her sister who dissented against the group. sophie wanted to go home to ericsons, minnie was brainwashed into fighting for this new community to the point she saw it as her new home, and wants the rest of the kids to be there with her, since she thinks its safer for them at the delta than ericsons as long as you "do what youre told", and she wants to kill clem because she sees her as getting in the way of this goal even tho the other kids dont want it either. AGAIN there are bits of set up here and there but the contrast between the communities feels more like a good/bad dichotomy instead of asking interesting questions

LIKE all of these aspects ARE THERE i just wanted them doubled down on a bit. with how vaguely bad the delta is they just feel like generic villain instead of something more interesting that had been alluded to with abel and how hes also just fighting to keep the home he cares about safe. again we only get about?? an hour? hour and a half? in total throughout the season dealing directly with the delta. they couldve used more fleshing out

and to completely change the topic if we got a little more time in s4 then the party scene in ep 3 wouldnt have been cut down lol. i think kent confirmed that there was supposed to be a chance to walk around and talk to everyone, but you can just tell since the camera pulls back like it usually does when you enter gameplay after a cutscene, but then it just cuts to another cutscene 😔 every time i play it makes me sad knowing what could have been. i feel like with the atmosphere of having "one last party" before everyone could possibly get taken/die in like 6 hours wouldve led to some interesting conversations
