Hey not to be emotional at main but I think about my grandpa so much despite never meeting him. I've been told such lovely things about him and been told often I am similar to him.
His wife divorced him without giving him a reason but he still was so fond of her and have stated 'I'll meet her again one day, even if it's after death'
Never said a bad word about anyone, despite living through abuse from his father he never said anything bad about him or blamed him
He struggled with bipolar disorder almost his whole life along with an heart disorder which finally got the better of him.
Wish I could have met him. The fact he passed away almost exactly an year before I was born is something im sad about. I think he would have been the best grandpa if I did get to know him
#miranda talking shit#Family#He went through some absolute awful shit in his childhood . His mom had an type of blood disorder like... She bled easily and too much#And stopping any blood flow was harder? Anyway ... She died giving birth to his younger brother and the brother along with her#I think he was 6 himself ? After that his dad basically blamed him for what happened. So instead of embracing his only living son he#Distanced himself and even beat him for anything 'wrong' he did. He may have been even more abused but thats all he shared to my mom#But he NEVER said he hated his dad or that he was mean or anything of the sort.#And my grandma divorced him which now cant be known why... But me and mom guess it can have something with grandma's paranoia/schizophrenia#At the time they weren't in like a 'bad' marriage or such. Grandpa obviously still loved her very much and her wanting an divorce#Apperantly seemed to come kinda out of nowhere but grandpa didnt fight her on it or anything. Obviously still#Loved her and always spoke well of her and believed up to his death that 'I'll meet Gertrud again where I'm going'#Shit man im just emotional af... Being told by mom that i am similar to him just makes me proud idk. I never met him but all the kindness#He had just wow... He was also an sensetive soul and im like aa... Me too#I hope his vision of an afterlife is real so i actually can meet him too one day#I wish he was around me growing up . Id actually have some sort of male role model then yea

I've had a terrible day, comment to ease my turmoil?
Oh, and towards the end of this chapter, “Luck can’t fix stupid” is just Eddie being hard on himself. He is a good boy who is trying his best.
Part 1, part 1.5, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6, part 7 of the love spell no go au
By morning, Eddie wakes to find that he’s rolled over in the night and Steve has burrowed into his arms. Hair that smells of Eddie’s shampoo tickles at his nose, and Steve is warm. A tingling under Eddie’s fingertips where they’re draped across Steve’s back tell him that his healing spells are still working—maybe that’s why Steve is sleeping so peacefully that it’s already dawn.
Nancy was supposed to have woken Steve for his guard shift, probably hours ago. Huh.
Eddie wants to melt into this and soak it up, just in case he never gets another chance, but… there’s too much going on right now to get caught up in whatever this might be. Better to take a page from Steve’s book and let it be, hold his tongue and wait until they’re not dealing with an interdimensional catastrophe.
Careful not to wake the (beautiful, brave, captivating) boy in his arms, he extracts himself carefully from the bed. He can’t resist leaving a soft kiss on Steve’s temple before he goes, though, his heart clenching and expanding and basically exploding in his chest when Steve shifts with a sigh and presses his full body into the space Eddie just vacated, seeking the lost body heat and breathing deeply against Eddie’s pillow. Fuck. Fuuuuuuck.
Instead of crawling right back into bed like he wants to, Eddie slinks out of the room and down the short hallway to the living room, eyes averted from the fleshy gash in the ceiling. Nancy is standing in the middle of the room, arms crossed as she stares up at it—but her eyes are clear, and she refocuses on Eddie as soon as he clears his throat.
“So, uh,” he croaks, throat still rough from sleep. “Watch system kinda broke down, didn’t it?”
“I couldn’t sleep,” Nancy replies, too quick not to be at least a little defensive.
Eddie peers past her to Robin, who is asleep face-down on the couch with his uncle’s scratchy wool blanket draped over her. “Not saying I blame you there, Wheeler, but. Did you try?”
After a pause, Nancy lets out a breath that seems to come from all the way down to her toes, stiff shoulders slumping just a little and world weary in a way that no teenager should have to sound. “No.”
He flashes her a brittle smile, because yeah, he gets it. The only reason he’d managed any shut-eye was probably thanks to Steve’s reassuringly steady breathing at his back. “Fair enough. Instant coffee?”
There’s only the slightest twitch of distaste in her expression (he’s betting the Wheelers can afford actual coffee beans and shit) before she nods. “Coffee would be great.”
Which kind of makes him feel like a waiter, but he did offer. Eddie puts his back firmly to the gate and pokes around the kitchen for a pot to fill with water, pours it into four different mugs once it’s come to a boil, and dutifully stirs in the shitty off-brand Folgers.
He sips his own somberly, pensive. All his life, it’s been drilled into him that magic is to be kept secret, cast in the shadows and never so flashy that it would draw too much outside attention. That’s what had gotten his dad locked up.
But this group already knows about magic, even if they only refer to it as such using dnd metaphors that are actually more accurate than they think. Hell, maybe psychic powers are just a different method of spell casting—that’s deeper into magic theory than he usually ventures to go, though, so whatever. Not important right now. The point is… they could all die. It’s a very real possibility, especially for Max, and Eddie’s seen how that goes twice now. If there’s anything he can do to help, he has to try.
Which means… he has to tell them.
After Nancy recounts what Vecna showed her, after they formulate a plan that makes Eddie’s stomach clench and roll with dread, Eddie opens his mouth and says, “Guys, I have to tell you something.”
They sit patiently if a little incredulously through his explanation. A little more credulously once he gives a demonstration, turning an apple from the Mayfield’s kitchen blue, then, purple, then neon orange, then back to red and slicing it down the middle into an even seven pieces without so much as touching it.
Dustin speaks up first, because of course he does—interrogating him about what offensive and defensive spells he knows, leading with examples that Eddie recognizes almost word for word from the Monster Manual. Lucas joins in after a minute, the boys’ enthusiasm snowballing until suddenly they’re drafting a list of things they want to see if Eddie can do.
It’s Steve who ends up putting a stop to that, snapping. “Hey shitheads, he’s not a show pony and he’s not going to do tricks just to satisfy your scientific whatever, alright? You wouldn’t do that to Eleven, we’re not doing it to Eddie.”
“Scientific method, Steve,” Dustin grumbles, but relents. Eddie shoots a grateful look to Steve over the kid’s shoulder, and the smile he gets in return makes his heart do a flip.
“I can’t do big shit like Vecna,” he cautions everyone, now that he can get a word in edgewise again. “But I can do smaller stuff. Protection charms on clothes, spells to make sure we don’t miss what we’re aiming for, that kind of thing. I can help, I’m just… not your point guy. I’m no Supergirl.”
Max snorts at the Supergirl part, but speaks up with a grave, “As the person sticking out my neck for this crazy plan, not missing sounds nice.”
That seems to clinch it. And next up, they need to stock up on weapons, so…
It was waking up to a cuddly Steve Harrington that did it, Eddie swears. That, and adrenaline from staring down the barrel of the balls-to-the-wall insane plan the group has concocted, because Eddie is surrounded by fucking heroes aparently. He doesn’t feel very heroic.
Because he says things like “It’s not exactly a car, Steve” with a devilish smirk, and not asking but telling Steve that he’s driving the stolen RV, the words big boy tumbling out like his mouth has a fucking mind of its own. And each of those times, Steve blinks back at him with something in those hazel eyes, which Eddie is trying so hard to tell himself he doesn’t know how to read, but he wants.
There isn’t time to do anything about it, though. When the RV’s rightful owners start banging on the door, adrenaline sends Steve leapfrogging into the driver’s seat and Eddie scrambling to get away from the windows so he won’t be spotted. They roar out of the trailer park with the kids whooping in the back, caught up in the adventure of it.
Eddie feels like everything is going wrong and about to get worse, but he’s felt that way ever since Chrissy died so that’s nothing new. At least Steve stays in the RV instead of going into the War Zone, even if it takes Robin pointing out that the entire high school had seen them talking at Eddie’s locker on Friday and some probably noticed them sitting together at the game—because yeah, Lucas had told them what Jason Carver had done to Gareth, and Eddie doesn’t want anyone else hurt because some vigilante jock thinks they might be harboring him.
“Sorry,” Eddie tells him after the others are gone. When Steve gives him a blank look, he adds, “That you’re a known associate of The Freak.” He nods towards the back of the RV where the two boys are wrapped up in a conversation of their own. “It’s bad enough that Lucas and Dustin are in the crosshairs, but they at least signed up for Hellfire.”
Steve frowns. “You’re my friend, Eddie, I don’t care who knows that. It shouldn’t even matter.”
“Dude, all of this shouldn’t be happening, but it is. It does matter. A hell of a fucking lot.” Eddie braces his elbows on his knees and drops his head into his hands. “Fuck.”
After a moment, a hand presses tentatively between his shoulder blades, shifting reassuringly up and down. It’s a big hand. Eddie is almost disappointed that he’s too upset to fully appreciate the contact.
As it is, he groans into his hands and shrugs the touch off. “Steve, I should… I have to tell you something.” And you might not want to keep touching me after you hear it, he doesn’t say out loud.
“What is it?”
Eddie lifts his head with a flick of his hair and a quick flail of his hands. “That was—I just cast a little privacy spell, if you were wondering. So the kids can’t eavesdrop.”
“Okay,” Steve says slowly. “Do you do that a lot? Just do magic like that? Because, you move your hands around a lot…”
He can’t help but smirk a little at that. “Not as much as you’d think. It’s a good cover if I have to, though.”
Steve’s eyes are wide and curious, his irises a honeyed brown tinged with spots of green. “Have you ever used magic on me?”
Aaand there it is. Eddie looks down at his hands, now clasped across bare his knees where time and wear have reduced the denim to strings. “Yep.”
“Like what?”
So Eddie tells him about the love spell.
Magic, considering everything else Steve has seen over the past few years and especially the past few days, isn’t much of a stretch to accept. That trick with the apple had helped, but for the most part he’s learned to just push through the confusion and listen to whoever sounds the most certain about it.
And Eddie sounds pretty certain that he’s ruined Steve’s life.
But that’s… not right. His life doesn’t feel ruined. He has Dustin and Robin. Yeah, he keeps ending up in life or death situations, but that gives him a sense of a purpose and might have happened anyway, because it’s not like Eddie’s one spell back when they were underclassmen created Hawkins Lab or Henry Creel out of thin air.
A big part of Steve is elated, actually. Eddie likes him. Or liked him, enough to try and secure his heart with magic. Maybe that elation is from the spell, but honestly? The world might end tonight and any of them might die trying to stop it, so he’ll take any good feeling he can get regardless of where it’s coming from.
When he tells Eddie as much, the guy looks about ready to cry.
Before he can protest, Steve says, “I know you think you made me feel this way and that it’s like—” he frowns, unable to remember the way Eddie had put it “—violating my self-asomething-or-other, but fuck that. Your uncle said it wouldn’t have worked if I could never have liked you on my own, right? And I… In high school, people just hung around and I could never figure out why. Magic is as good an explanation as any, I guess. But with you, I had to work to get you to be my friend. I had to earn it. The more I got to know you the more I knew you’re a great guy, so by the time we were friends it felt like I’d really accomplished something, you know? You’re really nice, once you get past the prickly attitude—”
“Prickly?” Eddie mutters, quiet like he wants to interrupt but still feels a little too guilty to quite dare. Steve gets it; he knows how guilt can be, especially when it’s guilt for a stupid reason.
“—And you’re smart, way smarter than me. The teachers who failed you are either full of shit or bad at their jobs, probably both. You’re so creative it blows me away, keeping track of all that Dungeons and Dragons stuff and making up entire worlds and all the people that go in them. And you have a great smile, with dimples and everything, and your hands are… And the way you watch me sometimes, like I’m the only person in the room even if we’re in a crowd, it feels really good.”
Eddie is getting more red by the second, a flush starting in his cheeks and threatening to go all the way to his chest at the compliments. Which, okay, Steve knows he’s gushing, but he’s been bottling all this up for a while and he’s not used to that. When it comes to love he’s usually an all-in kind of guy, and holding back had led to a quiet but snotty breakdown in Robin’s arms the night before.
… Damn, he’s going to have to admit that she was right about Eddie being into guys (into him), though.
“Steve,” Eddie says, and he sounds longing. Music to Steve’s ears.
“I wanted the championship game to be a date,” Steve blurts. Because he’s already mentioned Eddie’s dimples and his hands, might as well go all in.
Eddie’s blush intensifies, the start of that dimpled grin Steve loves so much on his face. “I… I did too.”
“So… after the game, when you went off with Chrissy…”
“That was just business,” Eddie says quickly, and Steve ducks his head to try and hide the relieved grin. “I mean, I wanted to help her, but I’m, uh. It’s always been just guys for me.”
“It’s both for me,” Steve tells him, glancing up through his eyelashes. He notices the way Eddie’s hand twitches, wanting to reach out but unsure, so he reaches over and tentatively lays his fingers over Eddie’s ringed ones. “Is that… okay?”
Eddie bites his lip, and just as tentatively twines their fingers together. “Y-yeah, I think so. This is—Shit, yeah.”
“Would it make you feel better if… I don’t know, is there a way to turn the spell off?”
“Not really, magic doesn’t—” Eddie starts, but then stops, frowns. “Uh. My uncle did teach me something to undo magic once, but it’s a whole… thing. Like pulling a ripcord on a parachute, and, yeah, you stop falling as fast, but it jerks you around first. And it would ‘turn off’ every spell I’ve ever cast.”
Before Steve has a chance to react to that, they’re interrupted by the rest of the group crashing back into the RV. Steve is up and barely even registers the remnants of Eddie’s privacy spell clinging to his face like invisible cobwebs. He spots Jason Carver out of the corner of his eye just before pulling out of the parking lot and, fuck.
The rest of the day is too busy and tense to speak to Eddie alone, and Steve has a creeping worry (which he tries to ignore) that maybe Robin is right; maybe they aren’t going to be okay this time.
Eddie doesn’t get to have nice things. Like an unbroken family, or a high school diploma, or Steve Harrington.
He knows this. It’s deeply embedded in the reason he chickens out at the last minute, shaping his possible last words to Steve into, “Make him pay.” In that moment where their eyes had met he’d felt every loose thread, every unspoken thing between them weighing on him like a ton of bricks, and he regrets everything. Even though there hadn’t been time. He wonders if Steve regrets not saying whatever was on his mind back at the trailer, while the water was running… And from the way Steve looks back at him before nodding and turning to go, Eddie thinks he can hear the hollowness in it.
Steve has similar hollowness, Eddie knows. Parents whose attention has always seemed to ghost right over him ever since Barbara Holland, leaving Steve to drift all alone in that big house until he felt like a phantom. They know these things about each other; they’ve talked about it all while high (everything except the Eddie wanting Steve part… and, apparently, an entire alternate universe full of monsters). And Steve gets it, even though Eddie wishes he didn’t. Wishes Steve’s life could be easy streets and clear sailing (ha, ahoy) so that Eddie wouldn’t have to feel so seen, stripped bare of all his armor.
Even his battle vest is still in Steve’s possession, hidden under the thick army jacket.
And it’s ironic, really, that Steve thinks he’s the stupid one but Eddie forgot about the goddamn air vents in the trailer. There isn’t really a spell to protect against that; luck can’t fix stupid.
So he does the best he can think of, if it can be called thinking at this point: flings a stealth spell at Dustin so the bats will be more likely to forget about him, cuts the sheet-rope, and bolts out the door. He grabs a bike and pedals as hard as he can, just trying to get away, and in the blankness of his panicking-in-overdrive mind an idea begins to form.
When one of the bats gets caught in the spokes and Eddie goes down, he’s up almost immediately and spitting the words Wayne taught him when he was still small—before his uncle got custody but after his mom started getting sick, when Eddie’s dad had first started getting reckless.
The swarm of flying monsters descends on him while he’s still screaming the spell. After the last syllable, bleeding and knocked around by the attack, the ripcord pulls and Eddie is slammed into darkness.

Is there anything Splinter did to the others that even Leo at the time though was too far/didn't like?
Oh, plenty of things. I’ve mentioned a few things Leo regrets before that were BASICALLY entirely Splinter's fault (putting donnie in the corner, making the turtles spar until first blood, that kinda stuff) but Leo would be hard pressed to blame Splinter (at least at the time). Splinter’s kinda gotten in his head in a way where Leo automatically jumps to his dads defense because he understands his mindset so well, and he’s been fed all the excuses Splinter tells himself to justify his behavior.
Also, Splinter has a habit of punishing the others to teach Leo a lesson. For example, if Leo slacks off in training, Splinter might fight one of his brothers as a demonstration. Everyone knows it's not a fair fight, but it’s not about everyone else, it's about LEO. The whole point is that if Leo slacks off and falls behind he’ll be even more outmatched in a REAL combat situation. Stuff like that makes it hard for Leo to blame Splinter, because in Leo’s mind it's HIS fault his brother’s getting hurt.
THAT being said, there is one idea I’ve been batting around about Donnie (yeah he’s my favorite so unfortunately this is about him again.)
So, I’ve been thinking, obviously Donnie wants attention and affection from adults, but plenty of kids do and not all of them are so easy to manipulate/so visibly desperate to get away. And while he is partially based on me and is a slight exaggeration of how easy it’d have been to groom me, I also want to give him some of his own reasons for things. Yknow, like a character haha. ANYWAY enough rambling, here’s the vague outline of what happened:
Around 6-7 years old, Donnie was really stepping into building things, right? Little, simplistic robots and wind up toys and stuff. It’s hard to do that using only tech that’s been dropped into the sewers, but he manages. This is before he discovers the hidden city, too, so his only source of supplies is the sewers. He’d scavenge all day for parts. It wasn’t exactly a safe hobby, but it was fun.
Well, once he needed a part that wasn’t easy to get. Something small, but specific (being vague cause idk shit about tech or building things tbh) and he, being a small child, decided to see if they had anything in the house that would work. He went around asking his brothers, then checked all the communal spaces (kitchen, dojo, living room, etc) and finally ended up finding something that would work! In Splinter’s room! While Splinter was away getting food!
Donnie, once again being a small child, was not subtle in his theft and left multiple signs that someone had been there. Splinter asked which one of them had been in his room, and after a tense interrogation, Leo pointed out that Donnie had been rummaging around the place looking for something so it was probably him. So, Donnie admitted what he’d done.
In response, Splinter grabbed his arm, walked them o Donnie’s room and confiscated every single object Donnie had built. Toys, robots, the whole thing. He also confiscated any usable spare parts Donnie had been keeping as well, so that Donnie would have to start his search for parts all over again.
He never gave them back. No matter how much time passed, if Donnie brought it up Splinter would glare at him and basically shrug him off. Only Leo knows that Splinter destroyed them all, and sold anything useful. Which he only knows because Splinter revealed it to him in a very dismissive, flippant way years later. Leo’s never told his brothers, but Donnie’s figured there’s no way Splinter kept all his inventions.
I think Splinter does similar things to the others, like tear up a comic Mikey’s reading during training, or take Raph’s food and give it to Leo as punishment for Raph stepping out of line, but this was probably the least justifiable and most cruel time he did something like that. Just destroying all of a child's hard work and possessions to prove a point.
I was gonna have him crush all of Donnie’s inventions in front of him but I think there’s a different kind of emotion I wanna explore here. The slow, painful realization that your dad walked with you to your room, told you to stand in the doorway, and then stole all your most important things from you. He picked them up carelessly, not minding if they broke in his arms, and you never saw them again. He’s not ever going to give them back, because he didn’t even KEEP what he stole from you.
Tumblr media
So yeah, no one was happy about that. They were pretty small, but it’s hard to forget something like that haha. Leo can still remember how hard and long Donnie sobbed once Splinter left :)

Here's some postwar thoughts:
-Levi passed out immediately after his comrades vanish, his body basically shutting down, and the Cadets all freak out, thinking they're going to lose Levi when he's made it this far! It hits Connie pretty hard because I imagine that poor kid is blaming himself for Levi's current state.
-They all sleep near eachother for a Long time. First in Levi's tent while he's recovering, then eventually under the same roof. They do this so when one of them wakes up from nightmares, they can see that everyone is alive. I imagine this lasts for almost 8 months to a year after the rumbling since they all went through so much. I imagine Levi and Reiner bond over being the two with most nightmares (oof).
- Of course, over time they start to heal and even find love. Levi being a protective father worried sits each one of the potential suitors down and makes sure he think they're worthy of his kids the cadets, even if it's between eachother (i.e ReiJean). No body isn't vibe checked by Levi.
-Eventually Levi and Annie talk of course (likely when hes seeing if she deserves Armin) and they have talks that should have been had years ago. Levi doesn't hate her, but he also doesn't exactly forgive her either.
-Weddings? They're all at eachothers. Sometimes just as guests, sometimes as best men/Maid of honors, or maybe even officiating. I like to imagine Levi walked Jean down the aisle eventually once he and Reiner marry.
-About 6 years after the rumbling, thr cadets all pool money together and buy Levi his teashop. This is the only time Levi ever cried INFRONT of the cadets and it wasn't because of a nightmare. I like to think they're all fairly regular or working there (batista Jean anybody?)
-Kids start coming around? Everyone is going to meet the kids, adopted or otherwise. And yes, they're all Aunt/Uncle to eachothers kids.
-Levi finds love? You bet all the cadets are now going to vibe check HIS s/o to make sure they're worthy of their Captain Dad. Partly as payback though too though. Levi is a little embarrassed but touched.
-Once they're lives all settle, they start to have what is essentially a family reunion/backyard BBQ every so often. These end up being everyone's favorite days because of how far they have all come. Sometimes it feels like someone is missing, but Jean likes to think this is what Eren wanted for them, even if his means were terrible.
Basically this is me spreading my found family/Dadvi agenda into the void.
Tumblr media
More dad!Levi, hell yeah!!
I love all of that. Especially the idea of Levi and Reiner bonding – that's something I never really explored, and you have just given me some ideas. Just imagine the two of them sitting around a campfire at night, unable to fall asleep because of their nightmares. Reiner keeps sneaking careful glances in the direction where Jean is murmuring something in his sleep. Levi notices that and scolds him for thinking he's being sneaky. But eventually he warms up to Reiner enough to give him some very short and specific pointers on how to approach Jean if he's really being serious about wooing him.
He gives the most terrifying shovel talks.
Oh, Levi's conversation with Annie is something I'd love to witness. Jean forgave Reiner, Connie was able to forgive Gabi too, but Levi needs time – he can't help but see his dead comrades whenever he looks Annie in the eyes. I agree that he doesn't hate her. Levi is not someone to waste time on such emotions (Zeke is the exception that proves the rule). He knows why Annie did what she did. But it doesn't change the fact that Levi's loyalty still lies with Eld and the rest.
Jean is secretly terrified of the idea of a "traditional" wedding, especially the part about him being walked down the aisle. He agrees to do that only because Levi seems to be oddly invested in the whole thing. Jean realizes Levi wants to be included, and he would never refuse him. Oh, and the teashop! I love the idea of them working together again. Levi barking quiet orders, Jean sweating to get everything done as requested. Levi is as serious about his tea business as he was about the Titan slaying.
In general: yes, yes, yes to everything. 💜💜

Lin's module summary question mark
>finally module lore surely she will be less of an enigma (clueless)
Tumblr media
Lin orders cart noodles, the owner (i'll just use he/him here so it's clearer when the owner is referring to a 'they/them' and not just himself lol) knows her and mentions multiple times how he's indebted to the rat king but her as well.
She asks if there's enough medicine to get by and yes, he wouldn't dare get sick because it'd cause her trouble, (because Lin says he should take care of himself for his own sake) that the rat king and her basically saved their life, and that Lin even visits their stall, just how highly does she keep him in regard?
Does this sound a little sus??? Because yes, when Lin mentions how her dad says that 'everyone should be able to live a proper life' he cuts her off with an 'accidental' chop on his board as he's cooking, and makes an excuse about how the new guy sucks at sharpening knives, unlike the previous 'chopper Liang' who was really good at it.
Lin asks where this 'old Liang' is; and he says Liang died five years ago, just because he was loyal and honest to a fault, he stubbornly made that one mistake... it was a very serious mistake, Lin reminds him.
He praises her dad's ability to see through people and asks for her guidance in the future too, and she's surprised they're still willing to listen to her, and he says its because she didn't ask how Liang died, so he's thankful for that. ?????? what (see below musings)
Lin says 'you still blame me.', which he denies because Lin and her dad saved their life after all, to which Lin does the classic '......'
But then the noodles are done so she eats them while the guy watches her closely the entire time, she leaves after she's done and they tell her to stay safe on the dangerous streets out there because they 'have' to follow her (how do i word this succinctly, like she's their leader so she can't just carelessly die on them but without like a job-level commitment if you get me lol) and asks one last question:
If she were in her own shoes 5 years ago, would she have done the same? And she replies she would because she doesn't want Lungmen to experience that again.
Okay so, thing five years ago = the chapter 6 slum purge... didn't that.... kind of not happen........ (beneath the surface), though I guess they didn't explicitly confirm that all the slum-dwellers were unharmed or something, because in Vernal Winds she runs into Taihe (The Forte Censor) and they very briefly reminiscence about that episode
Lin: Didn't expect (you) to remember me. The last time we met must have been five years back? Taihe: The circumstances of our meeting was truly unforgettable.. Lin: And not a pleasant one. Taihe: We were both just doing our jobs.
like sure Lin didn't ask how Liang died but uh hello!! i would like to!!! ask mister hypergrief to give us a clear answer on the slum purge statistics or something lmao...!! did Liang just refuse to evacuate and got whacked or crossed Lin somehow??????
the module name 七巧玲瓏 is uhhhhh a reference to a chapter in this i think (incidentally her S1 is the last 2 characters 玲珑) also what did they mean by the hourglass in the artwork wait fuck is it supposed to represent her DAD 😭
i didn't exactly scrutinise the text to make sure, but there's like a bunch of cantonese words in the dialogue that i feel like even hoshiguma's second module didn't feature but that's not the main point of this post but very nice nonetheless

series masterlist | AO3
Din seemed to have gone missing in the next few weeks.
He barely stopped by the shop, barely spoke to you, let alone look at you or even touch you. You suspected he was still shaken by the Pyke incident, as were you, but you found that to be a puerile reason for him to keep his distance from you.
Or perhaps he was afraid to hear the decision you’d made regarding travel with him.
You heard the insecurity in his voice after he’d saved you. If you wouldn’t have known any better, you would’ve thought he wanted to retract his invitation right then and there. Truthfully, if he were to do that, you couldn’t blame him, nor could you be upset about it. Losing the person you loved was a terrifying prospect, and if you were to travel with him, you’d be in constant danger. You knew that from way before he even suggested the idea.
The one person who could help you make an informed decision was Peli. She might have had her quirks—which you found endearing as well—but she was wise in her wild ways.
“Hey Peli, I could use some help with something if you’re not—“
She seemed to be soothing something—someone—very small in her arms, talking sweetly to it. You approached her with cautious, yet curious steps, and your eyes widened in shock upon noticing the green child creature she was holding.
“What is that?”
“Apparently this little fella’s name is Grogu. Cruel name to give to such a precious baby if you ask me.”
The child chuckled in your direction. He was undeniably adorable and you instinctively went to him, tickling his ears and earning more giggles from him.
“Oh! So this is Grogu,” you concluded.
Then your eyes noticed the ship right next to Peli, exchanging a concerned look with her.
“Little guy flew in all by himself from Jedi school, can you believe that?” Peli said.
“There’s a droid right there. I doubt they’d let precious cargo such as this one all by himself.”
Grogu cooed again, extending his little arms to you. Surprised, you took him in your arms, having an oddly warm feeling upon holding him. This was the child that Din risked his life and his Creed for, the child that made him feel less lonely and the same child who soothed his heart, providing him with a sense of home. And now, holding him, it felt so important that you couldn’t allow anything to happen to him.
“Does Mando know he’s here?” you asked Peli.
“Nope. Just flew in. My guess is he is looking for his dad.”
“We should tell him.”
“Well aren’t you a little eager to do that?”
Peli glared at you with her hands on her hips and her brows lifted, but you didn’t give in. You didn’t tell her the whole story because you didn’t think it was necessary. When it came to practical matters, she was lightning fast, and you, her practically daughter, were no exception.
“Haven’t seen him much lately,” you felt the need to clarify, “but he should know Grogu is here.”
“Would you like to tell him personally?”
“Why emphasize words that way?”
“Hey, you have your fun, I have mine.”
You scowled, glancing down at Grogu again. Suddenly you felt part of something much bigger than yourself, something you never had before, and it thrilled you more than anything.
Tumblr media
The streets were a jumble of noises, and you hated seeing where they came from. Peli, on the other hand, was confident in her plan to return Grogu to Din, and you weren’t going to dispute with her. There appeared to be a massive disturbance going on, and it didn’t take long to figure out that the Pyke Syndicate was most certainly planning an attack on Boba Fett. Your heart sank to your gut as you realized this.
That meant you were about to see Din, as well as many others, in a less than ideal situation.
As you jumped aboard Peli’s homemade speeder alongside Grogu, cozily snuggled beneath a blanket, you swallowed around the large knot in your throat. Given the circumstances, you believed it would be preferable not to draw attention to a young green child.
“So what’s up with you and Mando? Real talk.”
You huffed. “Peli.”
“What? Some girl talk never hurt! I’m only askin’ cause I see the way you look at him.”
“What way? I—“
You didn’t even have the strength to disagree with Peli. Truth be told, it had become increasingly difficult to ignore Din’s influence on your life since you’ve revealed your love to him – and to yourself. You could no longer ignore the sheer joy of being in his company.
“I’ll tell you something, he better treat you nicely or else he’s gonna hear a handful from this particular mechanic,” Peli added.
As you checked on Grogu to make sure he was safe and sound during the journey, a chuckle escaped your lips.
“Well, I certainly haven’t heard from him in a while, so… I’m not sure where we stand.”
“Alright, let me ask you this. Do you care for him?”
You inhaled deeply, seeking to bring some order to your mind and emotions. There was no doubt about how you felt, but expressing it to someone else, materializing it in that way, made it ten times more real.
“I do,” you finally replied. “I… really do. A whole lot.”
“I figured you do. And I figured he does, too. Who goes to a shop for spare parts and leaves empty handed so many times?”
You laughed. “He’s actually very sweet.”
“Good to know!”
Even though you were walking through mayhem and your anxiety was at an all-time high, you felt happy—for a brief minute. Then you remembered how Din had been avoiding you for weeks, most likely because of unnecessary guilt, and it made your heart hurt.
“There he is! Mando! Hey, Mando!”
His beskar figure was undeniable. Even in a high-risk position like that, you couldn’t help but smile a little. Din was panicked, despite his trusty armor, and his attitude was compounded by the way he dashed over to you and Peli, hopping on the speeder.
“Turn around!” he screamed.
“What?!”
“TURN AROUND!”
When you noticed the big droid behind you, you opened your lips to speak something you’d forgotten about.
“Go faster, you pile of junk!” Peli yelled.
Din placed an arm around your waist and pulled you to him after the droid did a violent right turn that nearly threw you out of the speeder.
“What are you doing here?” he asked. “It’s not safe.”
“Clearly, yeah! But we have something for you.”
“Hey Mando, look who’s here!”
Peli unveiled Grogu behind the blanket, much to Din’s shock. He let go of you and leaned down to take a closer look at the child, and a warm smile graced your lips. You knew he must’ve felt an overwhelming concoction of emotions at that time.
“Hey, what are you doing here?”
Din took the youngster in his arms right away. The scene was as touching as it was unexpected, seeing the formidable Mandalorian soften and nearly shatter as he cradled Grogu in his arms.
“Okay little guy,” he said, tapping Grogu on the back. “I’m happy to see you too. I didn’t know when I’d see you again. It’s okay. Yeah, I missed you too, buddy.”
You smiled as Din put Grogu back on the blanket, his helmet turned slightly towards you.
“But uh, we’re in a bit of a bind here right now. Be careful, you keep your head down. You stay hidden until the fight’s over.”
Then he turned fully to you, struggling to find his words as he brokenly said your name.
“Don’t,” you reassured him. “Not right now.”
“You need to stay hidden too. You need to be safe.”
“I’ll be fine. I know how to fight.”
“Since when?”
“Excuse me, I grew up with Peli. I know some stuff.”
An explosion went off behind you, triggering Din to wrap his arms around you and keeping you close to his body.
“Hey lovebirds, save your tender moment! We got a scorpion droid chasing us!” Peli intervened, pulling out a large blaster.
“Where the hell did that come from?!” you exclaimed.
“I know some stuff too, kiddo. Here, use this.”
You took the hint to start shooting once she handed you a blaster of your own. The scorpion droid’s shots were unrelenting.
“What is he doing here?” Din asked you both, referring to Grogu.
“The Force works in mysterious ways,” Peli replied.
Before the driving droid circuited and turned over, forcing the speeder to overturn, that was the last thing anyone uttered. You, Peli, and Grogu were in mid-air in the blink of an eye, with nothing to grab onto. Din’s instincts kicked in and he leapt forward, seizing Grogu while also reaching out to you.
You landed with Peli in your arms, doing your best to protect her, with Din close by you, blaster in hand, firing at the droid once more. You followed his lead and fired at the scorpion droid, but you were unable to break through the barrier that surrounded it.
“You gotta go!” Din shouted at you. “Go hide somewhere—and take him with you, please!”
“Alright, let’s go,” you helped Peli up and rushed to take Grogu from Din’s arms.
Din lingered with his gaze, his helmet turned solely towards you as he crawled back up on his feet. He faltered, but you nodded at him.
“We’ll be fine, I promise,” you reassured him.
That was the last time you saw him before sheltering in the ruins of the cantina, Grogu clutched tightly in your arms and trying to ignore the blasters, screaming, and everything else. It wasn’t an easy assignment, but at least you weren’t alone with your worries.
Tumblr media
Minutes turned into hours. Even if silence had descended upon Tatooine, you were too scared to learn the outcome of the war. You wouldn’t have chosen to focus on a bleak situation, but your mind couldn’t stop spinning with all types of them. Even though you knew Din was an exceptionally skilled fighter and that he now had a higher drive to win the battle, you couldn’t help but be concerned.
You let go of Grogu at some point, and he wandered off in the center of the street, right in front of a highly hazardous rancor. As you watched the small kid employ some type of magic to put the thing to sleep and thus save Din, you held your breath.
When he caught a glimpse of you, he practically ran towards you, checking you up close for any injuries.
“Are you hurt?” he asked.
“No, I’m okay.”
Still unsure of himself, Din reached for your hand, his gloved fingers intertwined with yours. A shiver traveled down your back. It’s been a while since you felt any affection from his side, and even the slightest touch could be enough to make you melt.
“Are you gonna keep avoiding me?”
“I wasn’t… I’m sorry.”
You took his other hand in yours as you took in a deep breath.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t trying to do that. I felt so bad after what happened with the Pyke that I… even looking at you made me feel bad.”
You frowned. “You don’t have to take the blame on yourself for that. It was not your fault.”
“He knew you are important to me and that I come see you. If I would’ve been more careful, maybe it wouldn’t have happened.”
Taking a quick glance around to make sure you were alone, you leaned into him with a faint smile.
“Din, it could’ve happened regardless. It was not your fault. This kind of beings don’t care who they hurt. If they can, they’ll do it, you know that.”
“I do.”
His voice seemed grave and almost falling apart, but you persevered.
“I’m glad you’re okay,” you said in the softest voice possible that made Din weak in the knees. “And maybe next time just… talk to me instead of shutting me out.”
Din nodded, ever so stoic and composed, and you suppressed a chuckle.
“And if you want to retract your traveling invitation… I’d understand.”
“Wait a minute! What travel invitation?”
Peli’s booming voice reached both you and Din, but neither of you broke the touch. You opened your mouth to explain, but Din beat you to it.
“I asked her to come with me,” he said. “Wherever I go.”
“You wanna take her with you?”
“Peli—be nice.”
“I’ll be asking the questions for now.”
Peli approached Din with a determined look on her face, hands on her hips with each step she took.
“You know I like you, Mando, but so help me Maker, if you’re just foolin’ around with her and making promises you don’t intend to keep—“
“I’m not. I love her.”
In an instant, Peli’s facial expression changed to that of relief and excitement. She jumped to hug him, much to your and his surprise, but Din welcomed it.
“Oh thank the Force!”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” you laughed.
“I’ve been dying to hear you two got together! This one barely tells me anything.”
“I tell you things! I just don’t want to tell you all the intimate details.”
“Count me out for that too,” Din added.
Peli laughed, staring at both of you. “I want you to look out for her, Mando. Keep a very close eye on her. I raised her. I don’t want anything happening to her, I don’t got the spare parts to put her back.”
In true Peli fashion, you felt touched and grateful for her care.
“She hasn’t given me the answer yet, but I will always look after her,” Din said.
“Well? Are you off with him or not?”
“Uh—“
Realizing you had some troubles being put on the spot, Din squeezed your hand and led you out of the cantina and going to pick up a sleeping Grogu back in his arms.
“Aw, you guys look like such a sweet family,” Peli commented. “So? What’s it gonna be, kiddo?”
“I’m gonna talk to Mando first, then I’ll let you know.”
“Cause if you’re worried about the store, I can take good care of it.”
“I know you can. I just… need some time with Mando.”
“Don’t have to tell me about it! I could use some alone time with that adorable mayor’s assistant.”
You made an uncomfortable grimace and chose to walk away with Din instead. You haven’t felt this insecure in ages and it made you slightly concerned about your future with him, even if all you could think about was the rest of that day.
Din must’ve been exhausted; his cape was torn in more places than before, the tunic beneath the beskar was dusty and torn in several places. But as he held Grogu with one arm and had the other around your waist, your body began to burn up. You suddenly found yourself aching, your core nearly throbbing at the fugitive idea of having him so intimately again.
But perhaps the timing wasn’t right, so you shunned the idea out of your head.
“I take it Tatooine is safe once again?” you asked, clearing your throat.
“Boba Fett is the official Daimyo, so it should all be fine now.”
“That’s good.”
Gods, why was small talk so uncomfortable in such highly-tensed situations? Worst of all, why did you even think to do that? You didn’t need to, and certainly not with him.
You failed to realize you have arrived back at your shop which surprisingly was still intact. Aside from the broken front window, everything else was exactly how you left it.
“Is it okay if I put the little guy down for his nap?”
You peeked at Grogu, noticing he was still sleeping soundly. “Of course. I actually have something that might be more comfortable for him.”
Entering the shop, you went behind the counter and pulled out a seat of some sort that had Din in awe.
“Someone brought it in a while ago and left it. You can put him in here and we take him upstairs.”
As Din settled Grogu in the seat, you took a deep breath, absorbing every inch of his silhouette. He was as broad and as strong as you’ve always known him and it aided you no further in the way you were feeling.
If you moved too much, you were afraid he could hear just how slick you’ve gotten down there. You gulped, oddly embarrassed by your own emotions.
In the dim light of the suite, it was difficult to tell anything, much less any reaction of Din’s. So you let him settle Grogu in the living room, and the moment he turned around to face you, you gasped.
“Are you hungry? I could make you something if you—“
“A little thirsty.”
He inched closer to you, his figure appearing broader than before. You gulped again, your lungs nearly collapsing without proper air.
“Din—is there something you want?”
“You.”
“How do you want me?”
He couldn’t voice it. He knew it, deep down and inside his head, he knew the answer, but it felt wrong for him to say it out loud.
He actually forgot how well you’d gotten to know him because in the following moment, you dropped to your knees, eyes set on his helmet.
Heart in his throat, Din gulped seeing you reach for his buckle and then unzipping his pants. His breaths were ragged, chest heaving with each fast breath he took. By the time you pulled him out of his pants, he was achingly hard, and it made you feel incredibly flattered and happy to know you had such an impact on someone.
The moment you wrapped your mouth around his erection was the moment he lost his mind completely. One hand around the base of his cock, the other cupping his balls and your tongue circling the tip, Din was an absolute moaning mess. He threw his head back in sheer ecstasy, his fingers seeking to pull at your hair.
“F-Fuck—good Gods you’re—too good,” Din struggled.
You giggled, the vibrations of your sound nearly tickling him as you kept sucking and stroking him. Pride rose in your chest, thinking of how he was the one who taught you how to do this, how to please him, and how this was only your second time doing it and you were able to withdraw such sounds from him.
Din was almost choking on nothing due to his rapid breaths. Seeing you on your knees before him, pleasing him as if the world was about to end—and for a while, it sure seemed that way—was more than he could handle. He pulled himself out of your mouth, leaving you dumbfounded.
“You didn’t want—?”
“Come here.”
He hastily removed the beskar from his body, bit by bit, followed by his tunic and underwear and finally, his helmet. As he sat down on your bed, he removed your clothes one by one from your quivering body. He always had this effect on you, making you feel like it was the very first time you’ve ever been intimate with someone.
You smiled upon seeing his face at last, his hair messy from the helmet’s removal. His large hands went to your hips and pulled you down on his leg. You gasped out loud at that first contact, your wet cunt slowly dragged on his thigh.
“Din—“
“You’re doing good, keep going.”
He seemed lost in a trance, absolutely mesmerized by the sounds you made, the look in your eyes and the way your body was so warm and soft on his, and how he could never have enough of you.
“Yes, keep going,” he encouraged you.
You moaned brokenly, feeling on the verge of ignition. It was the minimum contact, dragging your almost soaked pussy on his leg as his hands now went to your ass, gently squeezing it, and yet it was extremely irresistible. It felt like each additional wave of your body against his was building to a huge climax that would debilitate you eventually, and Din was more than eager to get that out of you.
The only reason you knew you came was the sore scratch of your throat and the harsh grip you had over Din’s shoulders. His hands worked to move you faster and help you ride out your orgasm and stars, if the sight didn’t get him going good. He leaned in and pressed kisses on your collarbones and chest, then moving back up to kiss you.
His mouth was intoxicating and addictive, a saccharine taste that always lingered on your own lips and mind alike. You cupped his cheeks, pulling him impossibly close to you.
“Don’t ever—disappear like that,” you said in between kisses. “I missed you.”
“You did?”
“I always miss you. Even when you’re here. There’s never… enough of you.”
Something about that statement got Din incredibly flustered and eager for more. He flipped you on the bed, positioning himself in between your legs, eyes locked on your disheveled figure.
“Oh—“you said, even if Din hadn’t done anything yet. “We should—be quiet though. Grogu is sleeping – “
“Mhm.”
His tongue dipped right into your cunt, starting with a kiss on your clit, then lapping at your soaked folds, collecting every ounce of your arousal. He licked teasingly, yet expertly at the same time somehow, from the bottom of your cunt all the way to the top, having you basically fall apart in his mouth. You moved your hips forward in an attempt to feel more of him, and Din picked up the cue. The slick sounds emerging from in between your legs were so obscene, you couldn’t get enough of them.
You grabbed a fistful of his hair, caressing his brown locks as he ate you like the finest meal. You bit your lower lip to prevent yourself from screaming because Maker knew you wanted to. He was obscenely good at eating you out and truthfully, if you could’ve stayed like that for all of eternity, you would’ve been at your happiest.
When you pulled him back and stared at him, Din licked his lips.
“You’re so good,” you told him.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. You’re so—fucking good.”
Each time you let out a cuss word, some primal instinct woke in him. He grinned, eyes locked on yours the entire time he resumed his licking, adding a finger to the treatment.
“Shit—shit, Din, I think—“
You did your best to not scream when you came again, eyes squeezed shut at the waves of pleasure that washed over you. It simply felt so intimate and private: his bare face buried into your folds, doing this for the second time in his life, but gaining an unassailable desire for more.
“That’s my girl,” he cooed, rising above to examine your face.
You were still reeling from the orgasm; legs cramping up in the slightest, chest heaving and filled with the warmth of lava fields. But then Din climbed atop of you, his hard cock brushing up against your stomach as he leaned down to kiss you with great hunger. The kiss tasted of you and him, together as you should’ve been, and you shuddered and moaned into your mouth.
He couldn’t hold it in any longer either. He guided his cock to your entrance, slowly pushing past your soaked folds, and gave an experimental hip roll that had you both gasping. It was needy and intense, but not rough. It was… intimate and loving. You felt so full with him sheathed inside of you like that, so safe and cared for that you could’ve cried.
“Maker, what are you—doing to me?” he asked almost breathless and in between thrusts.
“What am I doing to you, Din?”
You involuntarily clenched around him and he made a choked noise.
“I told you I can’t handle that, don’t—“
“But I want you to cum for me.”
“I need to—feel you when I do.”
He picked up the pace, holding onto your hips for support. It wasn’t rough, simply needy. That’s how he liked it: sloppy, needy and loving, all at once.
“Please—please, please—“
“Shhh, I got you. I’m here.”
“Fuck, Din—“
You were on the verge of tears from all the stimulation and you were sure Din could feel it too. He was thrusting as deep as he could, needing to hit that spot that could make the both of you go berserk.
“Can I cum—“he began, losing his thought mid-sentence.
“Yes, please—fuck yes—“
“Say it.”
All you could do was mewl and moan brokenly, the sound of skin slapping against skin turning you into an outright mess.
“Say what?”
“Tell me where—to cum.”
“Inside.”
You didn’t care about anything else other than feeling him spill his seed deep inside you. You didn’t care about anything else except your two sweaty bodies rocking against each other, limbs intertwined, his cock pulsing in you and your lungs almost giving out on you. All you knew was his taste, his scent, his softness, his broadness, everything that constituted the wonder that was Din Djarin. Undeniably yours, and you, undeniably his.
Locks of hair fell down his forehead as he leaned down to kiss you, but he never made it. He felt you clench again and his own orgasm hit. Din buried himself to the hilt, balls deep, as he shot his load in the most intimate way known. Your body trembled underneath his as you took him and his seed, clenching still. That’s when you reached to cup his cheeks and offered him a sloppy kiss.
You weren’t certain how long you stayed that way, with him in between your legs and your warm breaths all over his face as your fingers caressed every inch of skin you could see.
“You haven’t told me what you decided,” Din said after a while.
“You didn’t give me many opportunities to do that.”
He smiled and looked away, feeling guilty for the way he acted lately.
“I’m sorry I acted that way. But seeing you hurt—“
“I know. I—feel the same when it’s about you.”
“So… have you decided?”
You smiled before anything else. Over the past weeks, you’ve given that offer plenty of thought. You took into account everything you possibly could – even Din’s feelings after the unpleasant Pyke encounter and Grogu’s impromptu return in his life. You knew how important the little one was to him, but you also knew that you also had a special place in his life now.
It had been tough, but in the end, you decided you could never be selfish regarding Din, or the love you two carried for each other.
“It’s a scary idea, to suddenly go off planet and see the galaxy,” you began. “And… now that Grogu’s back… he needs his father.”
Din’s heart sunk a little. He finally pulled out of you and you both hissed as he curled next to you and under the blanket.
“He needs you, and I’m thinking you need him as well.”
“I need you too.”
“I know. But you’re already on the run, and you need to keep yourself safe, first and foremost, then Grogu… and if I was there all the time… no one could handle that much worry and not get sick.”
Din cooed your name, half needy and half brokenly, but you placed a hand on his chest.
“I’m not saying no. I’m saying… maybe we could figure out an arrangement that doesn’t have you risking your life for both me and Grogu—and yourself—and one that we can both enjoy.”
“I’d stay here if I could. I swear. But I have to—“
“I know. It’s okay.”
Din pouted, but your smile only grew wider. “How about you come visit me once a month or so?”
“Not enough.”
“Every two weeks?”
He shook his head. “I want you every day, every minute of every hour.”
“Din… the look on your face after you rescued me was something I don’t think I could live with on my conscience. Even if I’d learn how to fight better, you’d still be worried. We both know that. You’ve already got a handful with the kid. I’d be a liability.”
“Don’t say that.”
You huffed, grazing his cheek softly. “I love you and I want to be with you too, but I don’t want to make you incessantly worried. So if it makes you feel better, then… I guess it’s a no.”
“Why would that make me feel better?”
He pouted again and you giggled, pressing a chaste kiss on his lips.
“You are impossible to please,” you laughed.
“You managed amazingly a while ago.”
You let silence in between the two of you. Din caressed your hair, staring at you in awe yet failing to see the admiration in your eyes as you returned his glare.
“You’ll have one less worry on your mind,” you told him. “Now that Boba Fett really has control over Tatooine, things will be uneventful again.”
“So we could… come and visit you?”
“Whenever you want.”
“How about once a week?”
“Sounds good.”
“Every week for at least two days.”
“Sold.”
“And at least once a month I take you somewhere for at least two days.”
“Deal.”
He was the one who kissed you this time, as if sealing the deal, and you smiled, surrendering yourself to everything that man brought to you: fear, pain, excitement and love.
“When do you have to go?” you asked.
“Soon. But… just a few more hours here.”
You nodded in agreement, cuddling at his chest.
“Pretty sure the kid will be bummed to leave you. He seems really comfortable with you.”
“Oh he’s a sweetheart. Just like his dad is.”
Din chuckled, and in that moment, you knew the sound would forever remain imprinted on your brain.
Or at least until your next meeting, that is.

Honestly with the exception of like, the last 2.5 episodes of season 3 (and I say 2.5 because Jess was ready and willing to go to the prom with Rory in ep 19), I don't consider Jess and Rory's relationship to be as horrible as many people who hate him do. Yes, he wasn't completely honest in certain moments (like with the swan attack) and there were other moments where their lack of communication proved to be a problem for Rory, but I feel like they found an equal footing of sorts in their relationship by the time episode 18 comes around. Like you hear about Jess spending time with her every weekend, doing movie nights and organizing meetups with each other. And that's when shit hits the fan by the time the end of the season comes around. And when it does, it is AWFUL, but before that, it really did feel like Jess was also learning the wheels behind what Rory wanted as well and was not only willing to hear her out but also respected her perspective. Like I can even say that in certain moments like with Dean, Jess was kind of even better than Logan because sure, he was insecure and jealous, but he didn't ever take it out on Rory for that. He just wanted her to let him know when she'd hang out with Dean, he didn't forbid her from it or taunt her once she did.
Oh I have so many thoughts about this (some I've probably shared before, but it's been a while and I want to rant literati) that I simply have to apologize because this is going to be a long one:
So first off, not only do I think Jess is a flawed boyfriend, but I'm glad that he is. A lot of shows featuring teen romance have a tendency to write them either really soapy or like the perfect coupling between two teens with the emotional maturity and experience of somebody in their 30s. I really appreciate that ASP and the writers' room kept Rory's first three big relationships flawed in a way that made sense. Yes, her and Jess are incredibly smart and right for each other, but they're also allowed to be childish and mess up as they figure out what they want to be to each other.
Second, I think that he was both a flawed boyfriend and a good one. Like you said, Jess did learn and improve whenever the opportunity presented itself. Once he was with Rory he actually revealed how mature he could be: he changed when she opened up about her wants but also set boundaries for himself, he didn't isolate her from others, he made an effort with her family and befriended her friends, he made compromises on activities and was calm and patient around romantic rivals. What made their relationship doomed to fail is something you find in a lot of couples anyway: crap self-esteem and an inability to share and display vulnerability. At first that inability could be overlooked, because it was about swans and rowdy exes, but when bigger issues occured (like getting behind on school and his dad appearing) that inability blew a massive hole in their relationship. This doesn't make him a horrible person, just somebody who needed to work on himself in order to make relationships work. (Also I don't read that scene as badly as some do, but the bedroom scene at Lane's gig can be really hard to swallow. The writers could easily have written this to go a lot darker than they did, and I don't shame anyone who are unable to root for Jess after it.)
Now I can't speak for all of Logan's run as a boyfriend (I remember so little about seasons 6 and 7 and it's taken me basically two years to reach them now), but from a seasons 1-5 perspective Jess is the obvious best boyfriend in my mind. Both because of how suitable he was with Rory on several levels (interests, intellect, understanding) but also because of how differently each of them reacted to the same issues. Whenever Dean caught wind of potential romantic rivals he would get loud and angry and often blame Rory simply for existing and being kind and unprejudiced. When Jess was made fully aware of how Dean planned to 'steal' Rory back, he remained calm and asked only to be in the know of Rory's friendship with Dean. When Dean got egged on by Jess he grabbed every bait and then some. When Logan fished for fights with Jess, he consciously kept himself on a leash and left when he realized he couldn't anymore. When Jess was confronted by Rory about her feelings for him and then for her wish to be spoiled, he listened and did what he could to set things in order. When Rory calmly told Logan that she wanted a relationship and respected his lack of desire for one, he lashed out and accused her of forcing him into something he didn't want before doing a 180 and begging to be her boyfriend. When Jess was made aware that his pranks were actually hurting people, he toned it down. When Rory begged Logan not to steal from her grandparents for a secret society ritual, he did it anyway and kept his mouth shut as the maid risked her job until Lorelai forced his hand.
None of these boys are perfect. And in some things the other two did better than Jess (Jess did have a tendency to make things harder for himself with the townies, where Dean caused no trouble and participated enough to be accepted as a townie, for example) but overall Jess has the best track records so far. And it says a lot that he has that when he was still incredibly flawed and seasons away from his massive character glow-up.

So, little observation(s) about Vegas in the final showdown and throughout the show overall.
My opinion/interpretation obviously. I can totally see others feeling differently.
*****SPOILERS******
1. Vegas basically warned Porsche that a Minor family showdown was coming and then explicitly called and TOLD him exactly WHEN they were attacking... which is why Porsche was able to get back to the compound in time to help Kinn.
2. I don't think Vegas wants to kill Kinn... it's another one of those he HAS to moments-like when he was ordered to take care of (kill) Pete. Instead of just killing him he starts "monolguing/toying with his food like he's pushing off the inevitable/waiting for something-ANYTHING-to interrupt them and give Kinn the upper hand again. Which leads me to...
3. I don't think Vegas knows who he is or how to define himself in the absence of Kinn and in the absence of his father and that terrifies him.
4. I also straight up think the man is (or at least was) suicidal. He seems to have accepted that he's going to die young and there are several moments when he appears to look forward to that day and an end to the pain.
5. He is so certain the Major family will kill him either in their coup attempt or after it fails that when Korn doesn't he straight up loses his shit. I don't think that was just about losing his father and his position... it was about his story not reaching the inevitable conclusion he always knew was coming... that it was supposed to have, and ultimately Vegas is not ready or able to cope with that.
6. While I DO think Vegas has no problem killing, manipulating or torturing people... even enjoys doing it to a certain extent. I think he is more gray than he was portrayed to be throughout the show... he is a follow orders kind of guy, an enforcer, not a leader.
7. Which leads me to Vegas and his Daddy issues... we get the impression that he tries all these different plans that always fail but I don't think it was quite what we were led to believe. Pete even says, "they hit us because they themselves suck." With all of the abuse Vegas receives (which I imagine was probably much worse and more extensive than what we saw) he doesn't strike me as the type to go off on his own a lot. Do reconnaissance, collect info? Sure, 100%... but when it comes to big, Major plans? I got the feeling that he was mainly following Kan's orders. But then Kan would blame HIM and beat HIM every time his own plan went wrong because he couldn't acknowledge that he was the one who failed/ "sucked." I think that's also why Vegas was so pissed at Tawan, because Tawan DID fuck up which meant that this time it WAS Vegas's fault the plan failed and his inevitable punishment/abuse was justified.
8. Which leads me to my final point (finally, lol) and that is that I think Vegas rebels against his Dad in little, secret ways throughout the series... in ways that (hopefully) won't earn him more of his father's abuse or damage his standing within the families. -he doesnt kill Pete when he's told to do so. -He helps Porsche get info on his mom (when he's supposed to still be in hiding). -he warns Porsche when the Minor family is attacking. -he hesitates to Kill Kinn...
I REALLY want a season 2 so we can hopefully see who Vegas is outside of his defined roles in relation to his father and Kinn.

[read] the world doesn't deserve gordo
I SWEAR IF HE'S HURTING ONE MORE TIME... I'M. ADOPTING THE 38 YEARS OLD MAN MYSELF!!!
GORDO!! MARK!! they're so precious as little kids... The little raven carve? This is all a car crash and I'm so invested... Please....
Thomas... Is Thomas a slime. Was he always been a slime??? He's not a slime in book 1...
Why the hell would a dad tattoos his kid at the young age of 8???? they can barely make decisions!! ERM.... GORDO IS 12 HES JUST A KID!! my son!! This is child labor what the fluff?! FIND ANOTHER WITCH WHAT THE HELL is there a witch shortage
Ngl not liking how the human love interest, referred to 'mate', is seen as an item here rather than like, human. Like they weren't given a choice after a wolf sets their eyes upon them. Idk... then again that's just richard talking.
Gordo my son is traumatized, he was barely given a choice!! #justiceforgordo
Gordo... He's my father fr😔 HES BONDING WITH THE KIDS AUGSHSHSH JOE LAUGHED ??friendfriend?friend??
Gordo he deserved everything... I'm not ready for whatever train crash that gonna happens. Is Marty gonna be murdered too😭 is Mark going to betray him too😭
ABEL IS A SLIME I NEED HIM TO dye his hair pink or something
Mark is so whipped man😭 CUTE CUTE CUTE inject this shit to my veins (I don't know shit about drugs)
Is the girl Meredith king... Have my son gordo not suffered enough... THERE SHE IS... No wonder gordo would be 38 and traumatized like... One parents manipulated him, the other murdered someone, wolves would? Eventually betray him, enemies of wolves aka the hunters are mad extremist like...
This would be so great to read in a manga media like maybe as a seinen thriller mystery romance kinda Manga published monthly PLEASEEE I can imagine the colorspread the dramatics I think I've said it in wolfsong already BUT STILL look even the villains is dramatic they're quirky (Meredith u lunatic queen)
I swear if you thomas blamed this on my son gordo... ELIZABETH YOU'RE ON THIN ICE...
maternal bonds😭 this is when Elizabeth began doing dinners again back at green creek I'm weeping shes so strong
DID GORDO KILL THE WITCH... HUH...
Now why am I sad for this King guy... Klune is ruthless to side characters
FUCK YOU THOMAS... he's always being the one who babble about "oh but everything is a choice" and then ONLY. MADE CHOICES FOR AND BY HIMSELF LIKE?? THIS HAPPENED A LOT IN BOOK 1 TOO I am so mad. At the end of the day gordo's mother is right. U have to make your own choices not take whatever others gave you. damn I'm hurting. My son gordo. Thomas hate.
Fuck this pack dynamics the bennets alphas are certified selfish pricks (abel, thomas, joe yes u too joe u were one )
I'm going insane we only have Marty to trust in this house
As much as I adore the cutiepie mark... This romance isn't working bro like gordo is hurting hsgsjdjdjjjs also... Freaking THOMAS said to gordo not to lead Mark's feeling BUT LOOK WHAT HE FACILITATED INSTEAD?? for Mark to lead on gordo's feeling instead by making him visit the teenage boy every 6 month??? fucking hypocrite you thomas bennett
I am so bitter that Thomas were portrayed to be this saintly father figure to ox who give wise wisdoms (fReEdOm oF cHoIcE) and train with him when he's basically the catalyst to every evil thing in the world. I know, I know, character flaws and all. I just feel lied because he's horrible. Don't care about his reasoning! Couldn't even be gentler about it to gordo.
Fuck me mark is so sweet I HATE THE BENNETTSS AHHHHHHGGHGGSHHS
I feel really uncomfortable with the spice? scenes can we skip
I will also always side 100% with my son gordo BACK AWAY MARK can't even write hello monthly like fuck off with the mate bullshit he's been hurting for YEARS! you have your packs but gordos. Marty's dead! And you(plural) didn't call back! However sweet mark is he's still a Bennett.
I hate it here I hate it here I hate it heree AHHHHH I HATE IT HERE fucking Thomas ruining lives
Hmmm I need a proper groveling from Mark he can attribute his absence to his father but in the end he still aligns himself not to gordo anyway like?
ROMABCES ASIDE I like (love love love) the dynamics in the garage guys and robbie made a good addition to the crew too 😭 they're adorable pls
Ermmmmm why is gordo being pushed to be the one initiating talk?? Guys?? he's the one being wronged???? ELIZABETH??? MARK WHAT IS YOUR REASON FOR NEGLEGIENCE TO YOUR 'MATE' HUH??
This sucks if it leans to the one hurting being the one to make things work like... I NEED TO SLEEP.
FUCK SLEEP.
Tj klune really excels at this homey dynamics scene!! This scene involves like 11? Characters simply just blabbering and it felt so endearing shgshsh
Who the hells wears jeans on commando MARK???? I get it werewolves can heals fast BUT ZIPPER ARE PEAK HORRORS

Burn of the jungle hearts AU: what happens to the family back in the encanto? If any of them ran away/after Bruno, would their own innate magic be released? Would they find Bruno's village? What's the village layout like? How many people live there? Are they agrarian or hunter/gatherer? I think you mentioned Bruno adopting/having kids at some point, what are they like? Is this too many questions at once? *silently hopes for some Isabela content b/c she is my favorite*
His sisters and mother were devasted, Alma felt terrible for not listening to him and searched for him all day along with Julieta and Pepa. His sisters felt terrible for not intervening and want to Apologize to him but couldn't. The sisters were suffering in their own heads too much to confront Alma.
A few weeks pass and they are meant with the horrible truth that Bruno left the Encanto entirely.
2. More or less, If they felt the same way he did then their magic would be the same as his but their gifts would still be intact for safety reasons.
3. If they did leave after he left they would find his village but not for like weeks at a time.
4. The villagers(and Bruno) live in some ancient temples that are on top and underground. Bruno's magic lantern somehow rebuilt the temples. the villagers have been traveling for days so they basically said "screw it" and lived in the temples.
the underground is kind of like this
Tumblr media
and the top is like this but add a little bit more Jungle around it(Bruno lives in the biggest temple since he's the matriarch)
Tumblr media
5. About 300-400(in counting) villagers, some people come across this place and decide to live there as well. But it takes a long time before you are trusted.
6. They are advanced like Bruno but lots of people have come in and tried to rule the place and they slowly over time they became territorial and feisty(would you blame them? raiders have come into their village more than once trying to take the place).
Since they live in nature they try to respect it as much as they can and when they hear poachers invading places they shouldn't be they go into hunter mode. I'll talk about that more in another post
Also, you don't have to stay in the village if you want to leave you can leave just don't tell anybody about the place. the village is also home to a lot of other magic wielders and some of them have taught magic on how to hide the animalistic traits.
7. Yes Bruno does have kids, he has three.
Illiana - Is a very smart 21 yr old girl and answers to nobody. She takes care of the crops and foliage life with some other villagers who do the same. She likes making weapons and Explosives for getting rid of poachers and just in general.
She likes combat and is the only one that likes training with her Abuela. She's planning on moving somewhere across the sea to be in the military(let's pretend girls can be in the military back then).
2. Max - is a quiet but very adventurous 15yr old boy. He likes drawing in his journal and writing books. He keeps to himself mostly but helps with farming and gathering fruits and such. He hopes that he can become a writer like his dad someday and that his books will sell by the millions.
3. Angelica - Is a sweet and hopeful 5 yr old girl. She likes architecture and likes drawing buildings and temples that she hopes her father could build someday. When she's not doing that she's helping her brother with fruit picking or party planning. She's very talkative and loves hanging out in high trees so she can swing across them.
-
Bruno also has adopted 4 other families.
The Garcia family - Sofia(35) and Valeria(33) Garcia and their four kids Alexander(7), Valentina(14), Jesus(1), and Manuel(2).
2. Abuela Camila(71) and her two twin grandsons Jorge(6) and Juancho(6).
3. Sebastian(35) and Estrella(36) Hernandez and their 2 kids Sebastian Jr (12) and Elena(16)
4. Turquoise Gomez(55) and her daughter luna(15)
I'll do a post that addresses each of the family's Info and roles in the village.
Their names and Family sizes might change in the future who knows? If you have any other questions my asks are open. And yes there will be some Isabela content don't worry!

Taichi Yagami week 2022 Day 1 - Hikari & Agumon
[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
@taichiyagamiweek
For context see this post here. Content warning: Mentions of persons who have passed away
Day 1: Hikari & Agumon | Characters: Taichi Yagami, Hikari Yagami, Agumon, Yuuko Yagami (other mentions) | Wordcount: 624
'What are you doing?' Little Dragon asked. 'I have no idea,' Big Panda said, 'but it's really amusing.' - Page 63
Little light
...
Taichi looked around the table filled with family. He had appreciated how his mother tried to support him after everything that had happened all those years ago. He appreciated how she somehow had always stayed in that mode. Of course she had cared and worried for him throughout his entire life, but it turned up a notch when Rei had passed away. It had gotten even worse when her husband and his father had left this earth as well.
“Mom,” Taichi sighed, the words rolling off of his lips. He could see Souta look up from the seat next to him. The word mom always triggered something to his young son and Taichi couldn’t blame him. He didn’t have one anymore, while Taichi most certainly did.
“Taichi is right, mom, you should sit down.” It was funny to him how his sister had exactly understood what he meant with that sigh.
“But I need to take care—”
“No, let us take care of you.” Hikari said while basically shoving their mother in a chair with her stern words. She then non-verbally told Taichi to follow her to the kitchen to pick up the remaining food from the kitchen.
In the kitchen, Agumon and Tailmon were busy prepping everything in bowls and plates. Taichi followed his sister who asked the Digimon to leave the kitchen counter for her to finish it up.
“Ever since dad died she has been exhausting herself.”
“Can you blame her?” Taichi asked.
“Honestly? No. I mean, caring for others, for us, has always been her number one job and priority in life. And I know that you have had some great losses yourself, you needed that care,”
Taichi swallowed.
“But don’t you think it’s time to finally start taking care of her?”
Taichi nodded as he bent over one of the bowls to help Hikari prepping. She was right, it was their turn to take care of their mother, she had done so much to them. He had to admit to himself though, that he was a bit lost on how to properly take care of his own mother. The silence between the siblings told him that Hikari didn’t have many ideas either.
“How?” Taichi finally managed to get out.
Hikari shrugged. “I don’t know. Maybe she should move in with one of us.”
“And then let her take over your own household you mean? Hikari, you know how she is.”
“Do you have a better idea?”
“I have one!” Another voice chimed in. Both Hikari and Taichi looked over their shoulders to see Agumon standing there balancing multiple plates in his claws and on top of his head. “Why don’t you let Tailmon and me help her out throughout the week? We have been around here for so long and we know exactly how to take care of her!”
“Do you though?” Hikari awkwardly snickered, her hands already reaching out to help Agumon with the plates.
Agumon looked back at her, the innocence in his big green eyes something Taichi had always admired, wishing that innocence had never left him.
“Not really,” Agumon’s voice outed as he shrugged, Hikari being just in time catching the plates that almost hit the floor and placing them back on the kitchen counter. “But I think it will be fun!”
Taichi laughed petting his partner’s head before Hikari could swoop underneath him to hug the yellow dinosaur creature. Taichi could see a little tear roll down his sister’s cheek.
“Are you okay, Hikari?” Agumon softly asked.
“Mmhm,” she nodded. “Thank you.”
Taichi assumed it was a single tear of happiness and relief. And it was exactly what these two personalities had always brought to him for as long as he could remember.

Hi! Bunny heard you wanted OC questions? Bunny has OC questions!
Regarding Tony, you mentioned his family moved to Canada when he was a child, what was that like for him? Was he excited to go somewhere new or did he dread it? And after, was it like he expected or did it hit him and made him change his mind? Before Sophie, did he ever consider moving back to Italy? What was the thing he missed the most that first year in Canada? Is there something specific from Italy that he still misses, all these years after?
For Sophie, tell me about her siblings! How often do they talk to with her since she moved out? Texts, video or phone calls? Do they like Tony? What about favorite memories with Sophie and each of them individually instead of all three together?
About Nana, tell me more about her aspirations for the future! Impossible dreams and hard working expectations, and how they vary from what she thought as a child. And on the opposite side, back to the past, does she think her younger self would be happy or proud to meet her current self? What would she tell kid Nana?
Oh, yeah, before I forget, let's ask about Ella and Ume too! Let's see… Something holiday themed! What do they most enjoy doing during the holiday season?
Okay, those are enough questions. Hope you enjoy them! *bunny hugs* Love you! 🐰💛💛
Thank you for so many lovely questions ^^
Let's start from the beginning
1) Changing continents was incredibly hard for Tony. He was about 6 or 7 when it happened, and as it was happening, he wasn't able to fully grasp it, so when their family finally settled in the new place it hit him like a brick. He was no longer able to hug his Nonna or talk to his uncles, the people he knew from birth were so far away, and the new people around him were incredibly different in every aspect. His mom is Canadian so at least he is bilingual and didn't struggle with the language, but putting himself in this new culture was super difficult. As I've mentioned previously, Tony was already kind of focused on his immediate family instead of trying to find friendships elsewhere, so moving to a completely new country only exacerbated this tendency in him. He was basically hiding from life at home with his mom and dad. He was also devastated because his cat Vitello stayed in Italy. Tony couldn't fall asleep without cuddling a toy cat for about a year. As for moving back.. Yes, he indeed considered it, but only after finishing his higher education, and by the time he actually did he was already happy to be where he was, so he stayed.
2) Sophie always keeps in touch with Adam and Levi. They have a group chat for memes and bullshitting, and they facetime as often as they possibly can given their very busy schedules. They can just randomly call each other in the middle of the night if they so desire. They also have more dorkier ways of communicating. Like Sophie would print out their favourite meme and send it via physical mail just because why the hell not. Or call a pizza place, order her brothers a pizza and ask the pizza guys to write a silly message on the box. So yeah they're very much in touch.
Sophie's brothers tease her over Tony relentlessly. They wouldn't leave her alone about him whenever they're physically around. She gets flipping ROASTED (because she's so """tough""" and he is so """soft"""). But it's a stark contrast to what brothers were like when they were around Sophie's abusive ex. They were so afraid of her that they wouldn't even dare to speak. So.... Sophie does find being roasted quite endearing, given the circumstances.
Adam's favourite Sophie memory: the first time she brought him ice skating. Skating became his entire life, he would win awards and compete on multinational level, and the fact that it was his sister who encouraged him and made it seem so much fun never left him.
Levi's favourite Sophie memory: she took the blame for a broken lamp. Adam and Levi were playing chase when Levi dropped the lamp on the floor and shattered it, and when their father, furious, entered the room, Sophie confessed to dropping it instead of Levi (Levi already was on thin ice with the dad by that point and another misbehaviour would definitely be the last straw and end up really badly for Levi). Levi is forever grateful that his sister is ready to stick it out for him.
3) it's difficult with Nana and future, because by the time attitudes start she's rather disillusioned. When she was younger and more naive, she dreamt of joining the police to protect citizens and be a symbol of safety and justice. And then she actually joined the police force... Soon she burned out, hardened and developed quite a cynical outlook on life. During Attitudes, she constantly ponders whether the things she does are worth it, and what she'd rather do instead. She feels more lost than she'd like to admit.
Kid Nana would probably be in awe of current Nana because she is (on the surface) all that kid Nana ever wanted to be. Nana Old would tell her younger self that waiting is worth it. Hang in there, kid, things will change for the better.
4) Ume's not mine so I'm not answering that. But Ella is absolutely a Christmas junky. The kind who has their house fully decorated by November 2nd. She's all about that hot-cocoa-gift-wrapping-shopping-spree-carol-singing time of the year, she drips Christmas cheer and she dreams of living in a Hallmark Christmas movie. So... For at least 2 months of the year, she's incredibly annoying XD

HSMTMTS - TAKE TWO 2x2 Typecasting
Season 2 - Episode 1
Ricky vs Bowen Count: Ricky [6] Bowen []
This Episode: None
Ribbon Count: Nini [2]
This Episode: Nini - 1
Ashlyn assuming she's gonna typecasted is so upsetting
It's a Friday seniors get to wear hats
EJ totally took the moment to boast about Duke. It's understandable why thinks he'll get in though not just because his dad got in but because he's probably working hard to get in as well
Gina seems looks taken aback that Ricky's not gonna be in the show and EJ looks taken aback once clues into what he said. Ricky looks like a deer caught in the headlights when he admits it out loud and realizes EJ wasn't actually doing the same thing.
Ricky doesn't want to see or genuinely doesn't see the wrong in Nini's actions. He completely takes full blame.
Ricky losing the motivation after genuinely seeming like he wanted to do it is upsetting. He even tries saying he's just a skate rat in front of everyone and they all seem genuinely confused or taken aback by it because they know he's more then that. But in this moment Ricky doesn't feel highly of himself at all. Thinking about he never really has that much in season 1 either this is just the first time it was properly made it clear. Cause even when he was getting down on himself when getting EJ to take over for him he kept bringing up Nini.
Lily basically had her target on EJ and Ricky right off the bat. She found the two leading men and tried getting on their good side. She claimed tobe newbie so when she got up she'd come across as a natural talent. She is overall a pick me hands down.
"You've never disappointed someone in your life." It's such a cute Redky moment but also shows Rickys feelings he feels towards himself as well. BIg Red even looked confused in the cafeteria. He knew how much Ricky was actually practicing.
Ricky wants to do it but he really doesn't have the motivation to bring himself to do it.
What Mr. Mazzarra says really upsets me, because no one has actually said anything about Ricky being unreliable up until now, like yeah Miss. Jenn says something after this scene, but if either of them actually knew what happened it would totally different. He had an anxiety attack. Some people saw, but I guess Miss. Jenn never asked Ricky what ended up happening or if anyone knew what happened. I just think Mr. Mazzarra shouldn't talk to a student that way. Ricky now thinks nobody can rely on him for anything even though Big Red pretty much told him the complete opposite. In this moment he probably started feeling bad and guilty. He basically guilt trips himself into auditioning for the show. He didn't audition for himself, he auditioned for everybody else. He auditioned for BIg Red because he was most likely thinking of Big Red at this point and what he said about Ricky being there would make him feel better.
Carlos in Belle still makes me laugh. Actually that whole Gaston section hahaha
Ashlyn and Lily really kill it same with Seb
Emily should've mentioned that they couldn't change it, but you can tell she wanted to take the risk to.
EJ supporting Ashlyn was so cute, I'm pretty sure he knew the before the performance
Sofias earing getting stuck
"Now I'm little sad we're not doing Dream Girls." Imagine though
Supportive EJ of Ashlyn again
I like that Carlos points out that Miss. Jenn was being rhetorical but part of me still thinks part of wasn't being
Ricky knew he did bad you can tell he really forced himself to be there. He was only staying for BIg Red and that's why out of that whole thing you can tell he felt more comfortable actually interacting with Big Red then he did throughout the entire auditions. Same with Big Red, he was also really uncomfortable throughout the auditions and when he fell he looked so defeated until Ricky calmed him down.
EJ looked so proud of Ashlyn when he looked at the sheet.
Ricky probably didn't think he got a part so I think that's why he originally wasn't in the hallway
Lily had her target on Ricky from this moment on. He got the lead, saw that he was well like, could also tell he was in a weird place if his auditions didn't make that clear and pounced. She spotted someone who might be slightest bit vulnerable and took the opportunity.

- 6x21: 22:40 “I do everything you ask. I always come when you call and I am your friend. Still despite your lack of faith in me and now your threats I’ve just saved you yet again. Has anyone but your closest kin ever done more for you?”

- 14x9: Cas almost being happy seeing Dean happy. And then having to force himself to not be happy so he doesn’t die.
- 14x12: Cas being phased at Dean for wanting to put himself in the box with Michael forever
- 14x14: Cas is the only Dean will let talk to him about Michael and be honest about how Dean feels
- 14x14: “No, it’s on us.”
- 14x14: Cas’s voice breaking when he talks about the possibility of Dean dying one day.
- 14x18: The pure self loathing in Cas’s eyes when he feels like he failed Dean by not telling him about Jack’s soul.
- 15x2: “You asked ‘what about all of this is real?’ We are.” THE MOST ROMANTIC LINE EVER. (Plus later Eileen and Sam have the same conversation but they get to kiss because homophobia)
- 15x9- 20:00 Dean said that they lost everyone they cared about, then added Cas specifically. Then he says “I had to bury him” not “we”
- 15x9- 23:00 Dean cries when he can’t find Cas. Then he prays to him and apologizes for letting him go. He falls to his knees praying to him and fully crying
- 15x12: “I created the world.” *shows Destiel*
- 15x15: This time when Dean sees Cas leaving the bunker, he stops him. (In reference to Cas saying “you didn’t stop me” when Dean got mad at him for leaving)
- 15x16: This is the the only version of Cas that rebelled for Dean. This universe is literally being saved repeatedly because of Cas’s love for Dean
- 15x18: CAS CONFESSES HIS LOVE TO DEAN then goes to mega hell for being gay
Anyway, Cas loves Dean and Dean LOVES HIM BACK, OKAY?!?!? Feel free to add more

i feel like this picture is very telling of the kids attitudes
Tumblr media
note: i have not read the comics this is coming from what i gathered from the show (would love to be corrected /g)
not to use their numbers but *morphs into reginald hargreeves*
obviously 1 2 and 3 felt like they had the most pressure on them to be perfect and treated the missions the most seriously
1 and 2 especially were always fighting to be the best
this put a lot of pressure on number 2 which i think worsened his stutter
you can see 2 displaying a knife. his whole thing
his posture is trying to be good but he clearly looks insecure
meanwhile number 1 is overconfident
clearly boasting that he doesnt need a weapon his power comes from his own body
he looks cocky. hes the leader and there is nothing 2 can do about it
hes the one dads most proud of
3 was the favorite
she forced it
she rumored her father (not that i blame her)
she isnt facing forward (though this might be for aesthetic purposes as 4 is also facing outward)
she still has a professional stance
3 is much more mature than 1 and 2
she has nothing to prove
this may lead to her feeling like she can get away with more and understanding what her siblings are going through less
i dont mean to say that she also didnt have a rough time because she did
i just believe she had an advantage over the others
she takes pride in her power
4 as we know deals with his emotions through avoidance and humor.
we know he begins his battle with substance abuse a few years after this
number 4 arguably has it the worst out of the six. competing with 6.
he doesnt really take missions seriously
at least thats what he wants his father to think
note: he isnt smiling
4 has it in his head that if he can show his father how much of a disappointment he is his father will give up on trying to further his powers
he acts out (starting fires, vandalizing his father's car)
he puts up a front that he doesnt care to hide the fact that hes constantly terrified of his power and his father
number 5 has changed the most in between this image and the present
understandably so hes lived the longest and his circumstances have changed the most drastically and frequently
5 looks the most comfortable out of the entire group
he lets klaus rest an arm on his shoulder and even smiles at him
5's biggest priority is family he loves his family
missions probably felt like bonding to him
his vision of what is enjoyable and healthy has become skewed
which is why he is so focused on how he can help his family and vise versa and is so skill oriented rather than showing that he loves them no matter what (which in any case he probably does)
most of the interactions he has with them are either in competition or in dangerous circumstances
he holds high expectations for them as well as himself
this leads to him pushing himself
which normally is good
but when trying to impress an unimpressible father and an unimpressible self it leads to him making dangerous decisions
six hates his power. it really basically can only be used for harm
his being forced to use his powers actively lowers his self esteem
he sees himself only as a tool for violence and less as a person
ben is ashamed of himself
he uses any form of escapism he can find
this leads to him pushing himself
which normally is good
but when trying to impress an unimpressible father and an unimpressible self it leads to him making dangerous decisions

ok. samwell college of music au. i wrote all four years let's go babey
eric bittle is this lovely southern tenor (sounds kinda like mitch grassi or ben j pierce) who posts covers (& sometimes originals, but always with neutral or no pronouns because he can't post anything that says he or him ☹) on his youtube channel and has major stage fright but is very talented; he also plays ukulele
he got into samwell college of music on a voice scholarship and his dad doesn’t exactly approve but eric was never the 6′2″ masculine football player he wanted anyway so why not go for his dreams
he auditions for the very competitive samwell men’s contemporary chorus (there’s like 20 choirs; chamber choir, jazz choir, a cappella groups (lax bros do a cappella), combined choirs, etc- smcc does contemporary pop/rock music) and while he’s very very nervous and shaky as he auditions, directors hall & murray see a lot of potential in him (with major grumbling from student director jack)
(the rest of this ridiculously long au under the cut)
the group is small, for a chorus, because the point of the group is not a wall of sound but a focus on all of the very talented guys’ voices coming together in these gorgeous harmonies and basically they’re like one of the best choruses on campus and all the male singers want in
so there’s jack zimmermann, who of course eric knows because everyone knows who he is, he’s the son of bob and alicia zimmermann, both incredibly talented and famous musicians, and basically those genes were in his favor because he’s mega fucking talented
(jack was supposed to sign a recording contract to be in a band with his best friend kent parson when he was 17 but something happened between them and the pressure was too much and jack overdosed on something- there’s so many rumors no one knows what’s real- and kent signed solo in LA & went on to win grammys for his albums about a mysterious ex and jack disappeared for a few years to be a counselor at a music camp and reappears at samwell, knocking everyone’s socks off again like he’d never left, except with a renewed vigor and intenseness that freaks everyone out)
jack is a contemporary writing & production major, freaky talented and sings like a modern day frank sinatra, and he plays like 20 instruments and can read music like breathing air and writes songs like if he stopped he’d die; his music is folksy and mournful and he plays all the instruments on his tracks himself- guitar, piano, strings, drums- it sounds like a full band but nope. just jack. he’s intense
“we all get nicknames in this choir,” justin informs eric on his first day, “we’re those kinda guys.” so he’s bitty, which he finds vaguely offensive (bc he’s not that short!) but still cute, & the rest of the group is introduced to him:
“shitty” knight (voice like colyer) is a musical education major and an enigma of a singer with this awesome, earthy, raspy voice that’s really interesting to listen to and a very.... unique style & look; he writes cheesy but shockingly good raps about social justice topics and he will sing-lecture you if you’ve said something offensive (he also plays banjo)
justin “ransom” oluransi is a music business & management major with an angelic voice you can’t help but listen to; he’s sultry and has an incredible range and does runs like nobody’s business (with a voice like daniel caesar or leslie odom jr UGH)
adam “holster” birkholtz is a voice performance major, wants to be on broadway and it’s all he ever goddamn talks about basically, he’s a belter and has a lot of charisma and starpower and he’ll charm the pants off of you within one note; can also play piano and irritates everyone constantly because his regular volume is like a level 11 (voice like the frontman of my brothers and i combined w/ x ambassadors lead singer)
larissa “lardo” duan is at the local art institute because performing arts is not her jam and she’d much rather paint; she’s a barista at annie’s and supervises open mic nights and keeps the annoying choir dudes from driving away all her patrons
“i’m not even in your dumbass choir,” she says when the group gave her her nickname. holster just told her that she was an honorary member and then started sing-shouting a song at her about how good she is
bitty’s first year is hard because he’s talented and he works hard but he shies away when anyone asks him to sing outside the group and like, he can sing to a camera by himself but being on a stage with everyone looking at you and the sole responsibility of the song on your shoulders is terrifying and no thanks
jack does not. understand this. he’s been performing practically since he came out of the womb and he doesn’t really get performance nerves (what he gets is anxiety about how he did after he gets off stage that follows him home and makes it so he can’t sleep) - so he bothers bitty about it constantly like “you just need practice, you just have to sing by yourself a lot and then you’ll get over it” which like.... that’s true but it’s also hella scary and bitty’s like “no thanks!!!!”
but jack’s annoying and intense so he makes bitty do open mic with him every saturday night and it’s going okay and bitty loves his choir and loves his school and these new friends he’s making and he finally feels comfortable enough to come out to them during his second term
then during their spring choral showcase at the end of his freshman year bitty has a solo and he’s worked really hard on it and he’s feeling good- okay he’s completely freaked out but he’s trying to feel good- but when he gets up on stage there’s so many people and the stage lights are so hot on his face and he flips out a little and maybe he passes out from anxiety and stress right on stage and it’s terrible and he’s so embarrassed and ashamed that he ruined their set at the showcase
of course jack blames himself because “we shouldn’t have given you a solo before you were ready, i misjudged it, i’m sorry” - and they all feel kinda bad bc holy fuck they didn’t know his stage fright was that bad like they didn’t know someone could pass out just by being anxious to sing
he practices all the time over the summer and goes to his local open mic at jack’s insistence and it actually helps a lot because instead of a sea of strangers judging him it’s a bunch of people he knows and they’re all smiling at him and when he finishes his song they cheer for him and it boosts his self-confidence a lot
his sophomore year they have three new members- chris ”chowder” chow (voice like ieuan), an excitable music education major with impressive rapping skills, derek "nursey" nurse (frank ocean or leon bridges type), a songwriting major who can also play violin and guitar, and will ”dex” poindexter (like tom west), a production & engineering major who tried out with chowder bc he needed moral support and didn't expect to get in but impressed the directors with his voice
the year’s going pretty good, bitty’s still pretty scared of singing alone but more confident now and the open mic nights with jack haven’t stopped, so he’s getting better. and one night they’re hanging out at annie’s after closing waiting for lardo to be done so they can walk her home, and bitty suggests that jack sing with him one of these nights, and jack says he doesn’t know any of bitty’s songs and bitty says they can write one together half jokingly but then jack is like “yes.” with that Intense Look
SO they get together a couple days later in jack’s room at the house they all live in together (bitty moved in at the beginning of the year after previous smcc member john johnson called him- how’d he get his number?- and told him he could take his room if he wanted), jack with his guitar and bitty with his ukulele, and it’s a little awkward until bitty says jack should play him one of his songs
and, okay, he doesn’t really know what to expect because the only music jack ever released to the public was that one single he did with kent parson when they were 17 so bitty doesn’t even know if he has anything to play him, but he does- he starts playing these soft, sad notes on the guitar and opens his mouth and sings about being lonely and scared and unsure, about false starts and shaky ground and not knowing where you stand with someone, about expectations and lying awake at night and wishing so hard you were someone else, and bitty watches him sing and just kind of... realizes he’s head over heels for this boy and internally Freaks Out a little
he tries to put that aside and they start to write this song, at first it’s weird because jack’s like “all your songs are love songs i can’t really relate to happy love songs” and bitty’s like “listen... i’ve never even had a boyfriend i just write a bunch of sappy love stuff because it’s not about me it’s about whoever’s listening to it, they’re gonna project their own experiences on my music anyway so it doesn’t matter if it’s my real life or not” and jack’s like “alright while fake af that’s smart and i respect you” (what bitty doesn't say is that he writes about what he really wants which is to fall in love & be in a happy relationship)
they say they’re just gonna write this kinda vague sad song but they both secretly write lines about their actual lives so it ends up being really personal and real and raw for the both of them
they sing the song at open mic that saturday and the crowd at annie’s is never that big but they’ve never got a standing ovation here before, and some girl shouts “MAKE AN ALBUM” (it may or may not be lardo) and they both blush furiously and bitty’s like “... that was really nice, jack” and jack’s like “... yeah it was good good job you’re really getting some confidence out there nice work” (bitty: “THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEANT AAAAH”)
around this time jack’s really thinking about what he’s gonna do when he’s done at samwell, talking with his parents and his agent and looking into different record companies and deciding if he wants to sign with anyone or possibly start his own company- the head of a small company called falcon records in rhode island has been talking to him a lot, and jack talks to bitty about how he thinks it’d be nice to start small, and the record exec georgia and the producer marty had both been really nice and welcoming, and bitty’s so happy for him but also just... sad that he won’t be around jack every day after he graduates
THEN at a haus party celebrating their win of a local choral competition, who shows up but none other than pop star kent parson to Ruin The Fun
bitty sees the way jack pales when kent walks in, notices them disappear upstairs together and feels a little sick worrying about jack but chalks it up to the highly alcoholic concoction shitty and lardo had cooked up but nonetheless decides he’s sick of the party and goes up to his room and hears.... a little too much
and YIKES he’s standing right there and kent parson, pop star, two-time grammy winner, is looking a little rumpled and staring right at him and he puts his hat on and clears his throat and snaps at jack- “hey. well. call me if you reconsider. but good luck with rhode island. ...i’m sure that’ll make your parents proud.” and jack’s shaking, and bitty doesn’t know what to do but jack goes back into his room and bitty’s just kind of standing there like What The Fuck
so.... he kind of stews over winter break but tries not to think about it too much and he and jack text a bit and jack tells him to practice and bitty’s like “oh, you” and jack’s like “im serious” and bitty’s like “>:( it’s christmas”
spring semester starts and they're doing well in competitions and they go to semifinals and then finals for a prestigious collegiate choir competition and the pressure is mounting but they all are so optimistic and really feel like they're on the same page and bitty’s confidence is better than ever and then.... they don't win
jack especially takes it very hard, but then he also has signing to worry about, which everyone helps him with and he decides to sign with falcon records and start work on an album after graduation
speaking of graduation, shitty and jack graduate and it's hard for them but harder for bitty who feels like he's losing jack in a way, he knows how intense jack gets when he's making music and it doesn't feel like he'll have any time for bitty anymore so when they say goodbye bitty goes back to the haus and listens to his and jack's song and just cries
but, like in canon, dadbob has words of wisdom to impart and jack has an "oh" moment and races across campus to kiss bitty
they get together and the next few months are spent with jack working nonstop on his album (which tbh, he'd had many of the songs written already so it's mostly recording and producing) and texting bitty constantly and coming to visit him and playing him demos of all the songs
jack also asks bitty if they can record the song they wrote together & have it as a bonus track on his album & bitty says of course, so when jack visits they set up an impromptu studio and record vocals in the guest bedroom and this deeply personal song they wrote before they were ever together means so much more to them now
and bitty is so happy but so scared and sad too because jack is playing him these songs telling him "they're all for you bits, & a lot of them are about you" and he just doesn't know how he's going to keep all this love inside even though it feels like jack's career is at stake
he tries to shove it down and stay strong though, especially since he's now an upperclassman and they're taking on new members- connor "whiskey" whisk (voice like finneas or the male singer in valley), a music business/ management major who seems to hate bitty's guts and tony "tango" tangredi (like chaz cardigan), a jazz composition major who astounds everybody with his endless questions but also his ridiculously impressive composition skills & naturally perfect pitch (he can also play saxophone??)
i want ford in this au so fuck it she is a composition major with dreams to write scores for musicals and she stars training as a barista at annie's (aka training to corral the smcc)
the pressure of it all proves to be a lot and bitty and jack have their hi, honey moment where bitty's like i can't be this deep in the closet!!! and so they tell the smcc and also jack's label that they're together and that eases things a bit
jack's album comes out to much critical acclaim and shouting in the groupchat ("#1 ON ITUNES BRAHHHHH!!!!!!!!") and several months later, when smcc has already been eliminated from choral competition in an earlier round, jack is nominated for SEVERAL grammys including best album, song of the year, and best new artist
when the time comes he takes his parents and bitty on the red carpet which, everyone keeps being like "who are you here with jack?" and he's like "my family and my good friend :)" and yes it is awkward
jack wins... all three awards. it's the comeback everyone is stoked to see and when his third win is announced, he and bitty are so elated that they kiss before he goes to accept the award
his speech is basically just "um... wow. thank you. i just kissed my boyfriend on live tv. this is amazing and i'm so humbled. i'd like to thank my boyfriend and georgia and marty and my parents and my friends and my boyfriend"
obviously the press has a FIELD DAY with this but bitty & jack are honestly vibing and so happy that it doesn't matter untiiiillll bitty's mom calls and he has to tell her "mama i'm gay and i'm going on tour with jack this summer okloveyoubye"
the last few months of bitty's junior year pass quickly and he's voted student director which is a huge honor considering how much he struggled with stage fright and confidence & how he'll now be stepping into ransom & holster's shoes
r&h and lardo all graduate (the smcc basically crashes the art school graduation and all scream when lardo gets her diploma lmao), which is a bittersweet occasion and they all do a bit of tearing up
that summer bitty goes on tour across the u.s. & canada with jack and his touring band (snowy is a bassist, tater is a drummer and poots does backing guitar, he also brings nursey to play violin on a few songs) as well as georgia who's there to manage logistics
and tour is so fun & chaotic with many bi and rainbow flags in the audience that end up thrown on stage and draped around jack's neck and they spend so many nights in the bus drinking and laughing and fooling around on the guitars and bitty's uke and exploring new cities bitty has never been to before and it's the freest bitty has felt in a long time
summer ends though, and jack leaves for the uk/europe leg of the tour, and with the new school year brings a few new members- river "bully" bullard (voice like gregory alan isakov), a music therapy major who draws his own cover art for his songs, lukas "louis" landmann (like jr jr), an electronic production and design major with a penchant for EDM, and johnathan "hops" hopper (like keiynan lonsdale), a film scoring major who wants to write music for movies and video games
bitty meets and befriends some of the other student directors- shruti, sd of the women’s contemporary chorus; sharon, sd of the chamber choir; and edgar, sd of jazz ensemble (even chad l., sd of the all-male a cappella group)
senior year passes similarly to the comic; coach visits and sees one of bitty’s competitions, jack comes to madison for christmas, smcc does well in competition and goes to regionals etc
however… bitty keeps putting off and putting off gathering the songs for his senior recital
he has a hard time doing that because he’s so focused on the group and making sure they’re performing well and as they advance in competition, everything else starts to fall away
eventually the rest of the smcc has to lock away his uke and change his youtube password and FORCE him to choose songs for it and start preparing because he cannot graduate without doing this recital and doing well on it
he chooses (of course) a beyonce song, a few of his own songs, an ellie goulding song, and an adele song
with all that his breath hitches and his hands shake before he goes on stage, he does really well and his voice instructor prof atley tears up a little in the audience as does his mom
meanwhile smcc goes to semifinals, then finals, of the national collegiate choral competition they participate in
and i imagine bitty faces somewhat less homophobia in this au because i mean, he’s in the performing arts, but i think it’s still there and he also faces a good amount of classism from richer students and performers who think they’re better because they had the resources and money to be performing professionally from a very young age, and he has been practicing via filming himself on a shitty camcorder and posting it to youtube
but they still get there! and the national finals are fucking HUGE and a big deal and a little overwhelming
bitty’s stage fright is Present because this is the biggest stage and the biggest stakes he's ever had and he has a big solo in one of their songs so if he fucks up, he fucks up a national championship for his whole group and school
luckily though, when he steps on the stage with his best friends and sees his boyfriend and family and smcc alums in the audience and they perform their first song, a high-energy pop medley that always gets the crowd going, everything seems to melt away and it's just him living in this moment and singing his heart out
when it gets to the next song and his solo, he forgets to be nervous and belts it out, getting screams of approval from the audience when he finishes
(dex and nursey do have a duet together that they had to practice for many long nights in the practice rooms alone but that's neither here nor there)
their time on stage seems to last both hours and no time at all and then they're done, the crowd gives them a standing ovation and it's at least 30% r&h & shitty's hooting and hollering and jack's enthusiastic clapping that makes bitty & the others beam with pride
then it's just waiting, giddy and nervous beyond belief in their green room, for the judging to be over
after what feels like forever they're back on stage, arms linked together waiting and hoping for their name to be called and it is, they win and it feels like years have built up to this moment, and bitty tears up because years ago when he was fainting from anxiety at having to perform in front of people he never could've imagined that he'd do this, that he'd be the student director that led them to a championship
they get the trophy and a ridiculous amount of flowers from their loved ones and they all are just in giddy disbelief that this is happening, they're national champs!!! they are the best choir boys in the nation!!
they come home and the rest of the school year passes by so quickly that it's very suddenly graduation and bitty can't believe his college career at samwell is over 😢
(he and ollie and wicky take pictures together, o&w talk about how excited they are to devote full time attention to their band & wedding planning and bitty's just like wait you're gay??)
bitty got plenty of offers from record companies but he likes his freedom of creativity and he has a built in fanbase from doing youtube all these years so he decides to make an album independently (jack helps him produce & master it 🥰)
when bitty's album comes out about a year later, full of bops about being gay and in love and having struggled but come out the other side more confident than ever, it doesn't get any grammy nominations- and he didn't expect or need that.
what it does do is it resonates. it makes the rounds in youtube and queer internet circles; people his age reach out to him saying this is the music they wish they had as a kid and kids reach out to him saying he's a role model and they're so glad to have his music to listen to. his album is written about as an underrated gem that shines with queer brilliance and is sure to start a party when it comes on.
his parents may not fully understand the road he's chosen for himself but they're still so proud and promote the album as hard as any of his loyal fans (especially the one country-inspired song on the album that he wrote and dedicated to them).
and jack, jack who saw this album from its infancy to its release date, who took the film photo that ended up being the album cover, who worked with bitty to make sure his vision was realized exactly how he wanted it to be, is proud beyond words.
jack starts using his semi-abandoned twitter again to tweet "stream [album name]" every day and bitty retweets them sometimes, with just a "this boy. ❤"
and they're happy. they're good. they have come so far and they are reaping the rewards of all the hard work they put in to make the music that they truly love.
the end :)
