#Shan's mha headcanons
Text
Dabi is absolutely the one who gets flustered the more in the relationship with Tomura, because Tomura is cured of anything cringe and Dabi can be way too focused on what others think of him.
Have you seen how Tomura talks? He's a cheesy guy. He doesn't care. For all he shames others for being lame, he's a total loser and wouldn't change.
Meanwhile Dabi has his own persona meticulously planned and runs from anything that makes him look bad in public dkjfkfnfnfn

i’ve seen match ups circulating recenty and i just had to do one of my own while i’m working on some projects
┆彡 okay so in case you didn’t know match ups are when you write and i decide who your partner or s/o would be.

┆彡 i’ll then write a small headcanon for you and your s/o.
┆彡 i’m really excited for this idea so i hope you all are excited and have fun too.

Have this image in my mind of Tomura entering a cell with the rest of the League and everything is silent. Well, they talk like nothing happened and they do worry, but there's mostly this tension in the room, you know?
At some point Tomura is sitting against the wall, hair hiding his face. He looks like he's sleeping, but the rest know. It's a new brand of painful, one that is more freeing and that means you are alive, but it's painful nevertheless.
Toga takes one look at him and it bursts out of her mouth.
"It was not your fault."
At first, the memory of Ochako smiling down at her overrules anything else with the desire to help Tomura somehow like Ochako helped her. She is the one that always comments when he's down and the one that confronts him when it's needed. Also, she loves them. All of them. The League of Villains. She might not be able to comfort Dabi with her words, but she has always been able to talk with Tomura— and he listens to her.
So when he crumbles a little, shaky arms dragging shaky legs to his chest, making himself little and hiding his sobs with his hair, Toga repeats it.
What is she absolving him off? It's not even her right to do so. She knows that now. She doesn't care. No one else was there all those months and years. Whatever Izuku saw in Tomura, he thought it was worth saving, right? They must be close to understanding now that he is a good leader. He's a good friend.
Toga knows how she felt when Ochako told her she was not a monster. She had believed for so long... Tomura must had been the same. After all, she remembers what he told them after they went to fight the Meta Liberation Army. He had hugged himself in anguish after AFO was defeated. Didn't he miss Kurogiri a lot after he was taken away?
Spinner press closer to Tomura, knee with knee and shoulder with shoulder. Dabi pretends that he doesn't care as always, even when the weight of his attention is palpable in the air around Tomura.
It's no long until Compress says it too and then Spinner and it's like all their time together is now floating on that cell. When Magne was killed and when they lost Twice. Every afternoon spent in a dirty house in ruins. Every fight. Every laugh.
When they put their hands on Tomura to comfort him, he cries louder. It's nothing like the cold dead hands of his family. They're warm, they are not rejecting him. They've seen the worst of him and they have followed him through his worst days and they have stayed. They're there. They choose to be there. They choose to be with him.
The mood lifts a little after that.

I know there's no way the Shimuras bank account is still out there, but it'd be so funny if it was and post-ending Tomura had access to it.
This is freaking shonen, forget how legal systems actually work for a second. Imagine:
Tomura spends some time in jail or whatever equivalent of justice. Society probably sees him as Deku's charity project or whatever. Almost the whole League is absolutely broke and in need of a job, with Touya being the exception because even if he won't accept Enji's money he has his siblings. Still, forever jobless. Their only chance is working with Deku and his friends, which doesn't pay a lot.
And then there's Tomura who is the legal owner of the small fortune Kotaro Shimura collected along the years.
He'd buy so much gamer gear with that. There's an important fact here and it's that his money is probably the ex-League's money because those bastards would capitalize on their boss having a money heritage.
Funniest even if the government put Hawk into monitoring what is he buying with all the money.
Videogame? A car for Spinner, because he's the only one who can get an actual license and drive? Pays for Dabi's soba order? Multiple tickets to a magic show? Weirdest clothing selection ever?
He buys a house and alarms go off like "that is his new evil lair!!!!!". He accommodates it for his new three dogs. Deku has to suggest that maybe he should build several rooms for his friends, 'cause he was really making it all about the dogs and his gaming.
Idk, for me it's an all time concept.

Do you think Tomura has opinions on gamer sets for the League? Do you think he goes "you can't buy those headphones for Toga because they'd mess with her twin buns" or "Dabi runs hot so you need to take good measures to ventilate the room and protect the equipment" or even "you need to calibrate the mic better so Twice can speak with his mask on"?
He doesn't know what he's saying, he's just saying it because it's true and Spinner asked his opinion.

Think shiggy would do a leg day with deku
They would and it'd be so funny.
They are overanalyzing each other's moves and strengths except Deku is using comics language and Tomura game language and Bakugo is in the background screaming that they are both losers.

Ello good sir how do you do I humbly request a detailed description on shiggys squat prowess
OKAY IT'S FINALLY TIME!!!!
But first, some introduction at how Tomura ended up doing squats in the first place:
In my mind, Tomura is the type that gets boring with repetitive exercises. The most working out he does is related to life or death situations. The rest of the time? Videogames, hating everything, you know. He likes to fight, but not much doing the same movement 20 times in three sets, okay?
It all started with Spinner.
As we know, Spinner visibly works out. Knowing him, he'd ask Shigaraki to train with him at some point. Tomura would try to say no, an opportunity for the League to make fun of him, saying he's the type who wouldn't stand one round or that he's scared of physical exercise, etc.
That's how we got Shigaraki Tomura to do his first ever set of squats.
Hmmm, I don't know how familiar my readers are with working out jargon, so let me explain:
Repetitions means a single movement, like each individual squat.
A set is the number of determined repetitions, like each set has 5 repetitions = 5 squats.
A round is the number of determined sets, like each round has 3 sets. 1 round = 15 squats.
Here's the thing: squats need strength from your core (abs, sides of the body and lower back) to stabilize your body as it controls the movement up and down. Squats also draw strength from the glutes (muscles around your ass and hips) and from the entire length of the legs (especially the thighs!). The basic types target the lower muscles of the body, but some combinations aim to work the entire body!!
Tomura starts out with the classical body weight squat like most people do, setting the goal as a round of 2 sets with 10 repetitions each.
I think Tomura would complain the whole time over how tedious it is, but he completed the sets AND did a second round. Spinner is impressed because he thought Tomura looked too skinny to be able to complete it successfully without being truly tired. He was not even sweating!
Let's say he rarely accompanies Spinner when he works out. There's no time anyway. They're too busy running away or trying to survive.
When he does, Spinner manipulates Tomura (or he thinks so) through his competitiveness to do as many rounds as he can. They make it harder by talking while doing squats. Spinner knows when Tomura is close to the limit 'cause his legs start to shake, his voice becomes breathy and he frowns more, as if he needs to concentrate to keep his usual control over his body. Tomura tends to lay down almost lifeless after each session, chugging down energy drinks or eating whatever snack Kurogiri has placed there for their post-workout.
It's not 'til Tomura starts fighting Gigantomachia and after My Villain Academia that Tomura turns into the squad monster that he is.
All that jumping from rock to rock to fight Machia got Tomura's lower body muscles made of steel. He inherited the body type of the Shimuras, who are naturally fit and tend to gain lean muscle if they work out. Have you seen Nana Shimura and how absolutely fine she looked in her suit? Have you seen her arms? Kotaro looked squarely built in the lean sense too.
You know how I know that Tomura gained muscle fighting Machia? You can compare his neck from his first chapters to his neck after fighting Machia for weeks. You can also check how the surgery to get All for one affected his body. Look:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's kinda cheating, but then again he underwent 4 months of pure hell to get the strength and the body. 4 months that looked like this:
Tumblr media
He destroyed Spinner in their squat competition after the surgery. Totally obliterated him, to the point Tomura had to try more complex squats or it'd be too boring.
I'm talking freaking about back squats with a lot of weight, the type that highlight all his muscles and have the sweat running through the lines on his skin where the muscles cave in. Front squads that have his pants suffering because they're so close to bursting given the pressure on the thighs. One leg squads with weight that have him going down slowly and up like it's nothing to him, like he is not carrying the weight of his entire body and some more with just one leg. He can do air squats and play videogames at the same time. He once carried Spinner on his back to prove he could do the squads with his weight as practice. His sumo squats are accompanied by his usual self-satisfied smirk, because that's the perfect payback for all the comments about his skinny ass. The minute he starts doing jump squats to push ups WITH FREAKING WEIGHT, that's when Spinner is out.
He's a total asshole about it because he knows he is that good at squats and doesn't care to point out if Spinner is being "pathetic", right before he offers a hand for Spinner to stand up.
I think he goes to sit on a chair and all his muscles bulge naturally. They need to shop for new pants (they steal them of course lol). That man has an absurd tiny waist and it doesn't help that both his shoulders and legs gain definition over time.
Just look for the latest panels with him in it. It's absurd!!!!
The only one who could win a squat competition is Deku and maybe Iida, because their fight styles are kick-based. For the rest? Crushing defeat.

I think Shouto will eventually master the art of reheating food with his fire in a way it doesn't stay cold in the middle and goes toasted outside.
Momo can probably make a visual guide of what he needs to do and Deku take annotations when they practice on the weekends.

You all should write more fanfics of Touya becoming Present Mic's biggest fan and pupil, why are you not doing it.
Touya and Jirou are siblings in punk, matching rockstar style with Mic. Like, Touya doesn't need to burn as bright when he can get Mic screams and Jirou's amplifies to boost his flames and control them. They're all long range fighters made to give their friends some cover.
Touya practices his breathing to keeps his lungs healthy and him and Jirou have a code of sound and light to communicate different situations.
Mic is rude and outspoken but Touya is even more rude and outspoken, so Jirou has to constantly apologize for them getting worked over some random commentary.
Also Touya has a perfect schedule made by Mic. He's popular as hell and antagonize Endeavor publicly and Mic thinks it's the funniest. They have a show together on the radio, banned by the UA because Touya won't stop swearing.

How would the League of Villains react to getting their wisdom teeth out (according to me) P. 1 :
Toga: Keeps the wisdom teeth to make a necklace. Almost bites the doctor. Enjoys the whole thing a little too much. Demands being feed with blood for four days, everyone agrees to replace it with red Jell-O.
Spinner: It's grumpy all the days after. Plays videogames to keep himself distracted. Everyone except Mr. Compress is banned from visiting him because they just wouldn't help.
Tomura: Threatened the Doc but was a great patient. He didn't move or talk or showed pain. Acts like there's nothing happening even when his face looks like a balloon. It's super funny because everyone keeps trying to make things better for him (it's chaos).
Dabi: If he didn't get his out when he was still Touya... Anyway. They can't put anesthesia on him :( Dabi bleeds a lot and tries to stay away from everyone. Kurogiri is the one cooking stuff he can stomach. A lot of cuddles. Dabi isn't allowed to talk after the first time he lost the stitches for yelling at Toga.

UA teacher Mr. Compress would have use his quirk to separate fights and quickly keep his students out of danger.
7 out of 10 times Touya would have ended being the victim of Compress quirk to avoid Touya burning anyone else or caring recklessly.
Also he uses his quirk to pack lunch and stuff for his students and keeps another coat just is case his ends badly in a battle.

I suggest the horrifying yet intriguing concept of Twice cloning himself at 4 years old when he got his quirk, so he grew up with a "twin sibling" that lived in angst because he could die with a minor injury.
Even worse if within the first week he creates several siblings because he feels lonely and they keep dying (aka disappearing), so he really really hates to clone himself. His parents try to explain to him that they are clones, not real people, but then comes the horror of trying to tell that to the many kids. Twice losing his mind over what makes him different from a clone, because they all have the same memories, the same bodies, they are all him so if they are not real, is he?
Twice slowly gets more selfish and uses his quirk less and less. He's lonely, but he doesn't want to share his parents. He's lonely, but after he had that fight with a clone that claimed he owned his life and Twice was the fake one...
When his parents died, Twice knew he could clone them. He could push the loneliness away by just making them appear before him, hug him, tell him everything would be okay. He never did because he knew they would be horrified of being cloned like that. He never did because he missed them, he loved them, he didn't want to see them die not once, but twice.
That's the tragedy of it, right?
You multiply everything when you multiply a person. Their hope, their determination, their love, their pain, their suffering, their longing, even the loneliness and the passion. He needed to come to terms with that fact if he wanted to use his quirk.
Can he even clone a dead person? Or was it only something Toga could do using her quirk along with Twice's quirk? Could he clone Magne, for example? Did he ever think about it? Wondered?
What about people he couldn't have the exact measurements of, like Kurogiri? How tall are you if you're made mostly of mist? If no one can see the body underneath? If Twice tried to clone a nomu, he would probably replicate it in the state he took the measurements of and yet... I wonder if all the quirks would transfer.
A more macabre thought: could he clone a dead body so he can frame people with endless death? Would Twice quirk allow him to torture someone with the final moments of someone they loved?
Or in another universe, did he ever offered to use his quirk to be with all his friends at the same time because he didn't want to leave one of them alone for long? One Twice taking care of someone sick, one Twice going to buy the medicine, one Twice cooking in the kitchen, one Twice hanging out with another friend, maybe studying, maybe even watching a movie in the theater?
What if he wasn't even sure if he cloned his twin brother or if he was real? He knows he can't trust his memory, so he panics. Is that me enjoying my own life or just a clone? Is he real? Does it matter?

I can't design or draw properly, so I'll try to explain in detail how I imagine Tenko's pro-hero suit:
First of all, he dresses mostly in black in honor of Eraser Head and Nana Shimura. One of them is his favorite pro-hero and the other is the pro-hero who inspired them to join UA.
Although he does wear black to pay tribute to his biggest inspirations, there's a deeper reason to his choice. With such a dangerous quirk, Tenko was assigned as a rescue specialist. He should avoid fighting at all costs. He's also been encouraged to create new alternatives for himself, which he did.
Tenko's priorities as a pro-hero are endurance, adaptability and stealth. His motto is that if you can resists long enough, you can beat anything.
Black is the color of those who don't want to be noticed until it's too late. Perfect to blend in and perfect for someone like Tenko, who relies on the fact people normally don't pay attention to him. He's been told he looks really creepy, more like a villain than a pro-hero. Tenko doesn't really care. There are a hundred other flashy heroes with equal flashy quirks to admire. All he wants to do are the jobs that no one else takes, no one else wants, no one else wonders about.
Tenko's suit covers him almost completely, from the elastic like high neck that covers his scratches to the boots designed to make his steps silent. He asked the base of his pro-hero suit to be made of a tight yet flexible material, with thicker parts to protect his vital zones. He relies on his speed and range of motion during attacks and rescues, so he needed a suit light yet resistant to any possible scratch or wound from debris and other objects around him. As a rescue specialist, he can't allow himself to go down. The suit is also designed so Tenko can decay parts of it without decaying the whole, in case of emergency.
The cape is what gave him his pro-hero name and the most distinguishable detail of him.
The inside of it is fashioned to look like the wings of a moth. Outside, it is black and fire resistant. On the inside, it has a kaleidoscope of pearlish hues of purple and red, with a plush feeling to the touch. Since his suit is already creepy (you'll see why), Tenko decided to add something to bring comfort to the victims in his rescue missions, something that would also protect them from the damage of a danger zone. The best secret of it is that the cape are in fact two pieces of clothing superposed at the collar, like a wing folding on each other. They are big enough for him to cocoon a person inside of it if he needed to.
Tenko doesn't use his cape often in battles. Most of the time, he's quick to leave it with the heroes managing the safety zone for the civilians to use or he waves them to call civilians to follow him.
When he uses the cape in battles tho, he's one of the most insufferable beings alive. Combined with his other gear, he shields himself from explosive or fire quirks with the capes, he obscures the field view of his enemies or camouflages himself for a sneak attack. He tries not to get them damaged, since the repairing / manufacturing process can last weeks and he'd be a bit defenseless 'til then.
From afar he doesn't look much different from the Tomura we know at the beginning of the manga: A young man dressed in black, mopey blue hair covering the scars around his eyes. It'd be very funny to see him evolve from an awkward teen in a "creepy butterfly suit" to an actual pro-hero who fills up the suit and the expectations.
If you need some visual reference, his pro-hero suit looks a lot like the outfit he used when he woke up on the War arc. The difference is that this one doesn't have the armor parts on the legs.
Now, my favorite part: hero gear and details!!!!!!
So far I think the suit is too simple. The cape is great, but I've already said he doesn't use it a lot, right? You know how the UA class 1A kids have special gear for special missions? Think of the cape as that.
The gloves are an obvious choice.
They're not to regulate his quirk, despite what you all might think. Tenko has perfect control over his quirk, he's grown used to using only four fingers and can switch without problem between safety mode and action mode, how he likes to call the four fingers vs five fingers grip.
The gloves are to protect his hands from the materials he handles during a rescue mission. He is often dealing with ruined sites full of glass and debris. He also comes in contact with multiple toxic elements or dangerous surfaces, such as the hot metal of doors, for example.
My absolute favorite hero gear is his belt, tho.
Since Tenko cannot fight using his own quirk (he must not decay the villains of course), he invented his own version of Aizawa's scarf:
Positioned at the extremes of a retractable chain, there are hands that work like grappling hooks. By throwing one hand at a certain surface (ex. maybe a windowsill or a balcony), Tenko can make that hand close around the object and attach the other extreme of the chain (the other hand) to himself, using the retractive function to move from one point to the other. Other usages range from the creation of safety perimeters on a catastrophe zone, restraining villains, catching objects far away from the user, to the ability to combine them to create webs capable of breaking the fall of a person, etc etc etc.
They're Tenko's primary tools both during rescue missions and active fights.
Compared to Aizawa's scarf, the chains are not as unbreakable and they come separately, instead of in one piece. Tenko shares with Aizawa and Nana Shimura the fact that he uses mostly his human abilities to fight, relying on their quirks only to take advantage of the situations. Still, Nana and Aizawa adapted their styles to make the most out of their usual territories (for Nana it was the skies and for Aizawa, urban sites).
The advantages of the hand chains include being able to use them separately, being more intuitive to use than Aizawa's scarf, actually being able to punch people lol and of course, being creepy.
Tenko has used them before to lure villains to his traps. By placing them strategically, it looks like there is someone around the corner or under the rubble. He has also used them as cupholders...
Unlike the hands we know from the manga, these open and close so as to mold their form to any surface. They don't have a golden base and the tubes covering the chains are transparent, with a finish that makes it shine like spiderwebs under the sun. They fist on Tomura's belt with the chain retracted, hanging on his sides, next to the back pouch that has his first aid kit and mask.
The general opinion is that the moth pro-hero is creepy as hell. He's pretty obscure, following the path of Nana and Aizawa, but it balances nicely Hana's popularity as the butterfly hero!!
Hana inherited the floating quirk from their grandma. She dresses brightly in yellow (taken from Nana) and purple (taken from Midnight) with details in black (to match Tenko). I imagine her cape being longer and butterfly-like, just one piece unlike Tenko's. She's probably a fight type, maybe more of an important side quick??? She is probably very popular because she's really pretty and daring.
Tenko and Hana are like the bugs pro-heroes lol.
Anyway, that's exactly how I imagine Tenko. It can look a little goofy at the start, just like when Izuku first wore his suit. Yet, combining the moth suit with Tenko's later white long hair and physique?? Now, that's the cryptid feeling I'm talking about.

Imagine shigaraki playing undertale when he was younger and never being able to play a pacifist run most of the time doing a genocide or sometimes neutral. Once he starts to heal he finally plays a pacifist route
Tomura went from genocide to pacifist and Deku from pacifist to genocidal and sincerely?
Everyone at UA and the League are terrified of them both, because sometimes they go pass Tomura and Deku when they're playing.

Imagine if after the end of bnha, Toga, Dabi and Tomura have big issues trusting the heroes and getting used to living like the others, so they insist in living together just... in case.
It'd be so funny because Dabi would have his room in the Todoroki house, but it's not just his room, it's also where Toga and Tomura sleep because the three of them refuse having separate rooms.
They keep acting like they are in danger, and just them everyone notice how awful must have been their lives on the streets.
Tomura jumps back and put his hands strong against his chest when he feels someone is about to touch them, even when he now can control decay.
Dabi is ready to burn anyone who touches his shoulder on the street when he's walking be aus he's used to creepy dudes following him through the night.
No matter where she is, Toga always find a place to look around and makes herself tiny like a cat ready to attack, because she's used to making herself invisible, a smaller target.
Dabi would go for hours long walks and everyone would be worried except Toga and Tomura, who just know he needs them to think.
Toga would start jumping all around out of nowhere, singing, and Tomura and Dabi would just stay out of her way, letting her drain.
And when Tomura sleeps for a whole day after staying up awake for three days, Toga and Dabi would always take turns making sure he's not in danger.
I can imagine them eating together and taking food from the other and using all each other's clothes and having many inner jokes and references. I can imagine them dressing to go to the cemetery to visit Twice, and they don't come home that weekend, they just need to go back to the streets for a while because the "normal life" feels wrong. I can imagine Toga and Tomura going feral when Dabi starts arguing with the Todorokis and basically get ready to fight if Dabi tells him the word. Or Toga and Dabi threatening strangers who are really mean to Tomura, or Tomura and Dabi just scaring the shit out of anyone who dares to look wrong at Toga.
Just, just imagine.

Hot take but the people who makes jokes about how Shigaraki and Dabi are disgusting for not showering or taking better care of themselves really forget that:
At least 70% of Dabi's body is covered in burns and I'm saying this as someone who had relatives getting terrible burns: you have to be double careful with those injuries if you don't want one to get an infection.
One of the treatments for that shit involves daily peeling the burned parts to avoid them from getting contaminated and then apply the medication it needs.
By the way, I bet Dabi's inmune system sucks because he needs to take antibiotics constantly. I bet he's constantly getting sick. Someone buy this guy some multivitamins please. I'm worried.
For what we know, he's also having a terrible time processing food and getting the nutrients he needs to keep himself alive. His poor stomach.
But let's keep the focus.
Dabi probably cleans his wounds regularly. He needs to apply something to prevent infections, he needs to replace the staples, etc.
I actually thinks he needs to clean his clothes a lot because they can contaminate him too.
When it comes to Shigaraki, we have seen him changing outfits and dressing nicely as soon as he can. He's clothes are usually comfortable and practical.
I mean, he's wearing cut hands of real dead people not because he likes the aesthetic. There's a whole deal in the manga on those hands symbolizing his development and being directly linked to his traumas.
Really, for the people who think everything can be cured with beauty products: that's shit, pal. Emotions and traumas can generate physical responses. I think that's the case of Shigaraki's scratching, which means it won't go away just by applying some medicine. It can tone down, but won't dissappear.
The representation they give is amazing because it's very very important to understand there's a whole deal of people who doesn't have the time or the money to have perfect skin and it doesn't fucking matter. They deserve to live as much as anyone, they deserve love and appreciation and there are more people like that than there's people with precious wonderful skin care.
That's why it hurts so many people when artist just erase their scars and burn marks and scratches. They don't have to "heal" or "erase" those to be happy or live healthy.
Both Dabi and Shigaraki represent people with chronic conditions. It's more likely they'll never heal from it— well, they obviously can because this is fantasy and anything can fucking happen and be valid, but I guess you understand my point.
It's so funny how Dabi and Shigaraki were the two first to call out each other on their looks. That's recognition, buddy. They realized the other was dealing with something similar, even if subconsciously, and that's why it was okay at some level. They were okay with it.
The rest of the League just adapted. They even got scared when Bakugo blasted the hand off Shigaraki's face. It was Shigaraki who stopped them and told them it was okay at some level.
And oh my fucking God they are poor.
The conditions they live in are precarious as it's best, specially for people with wounds that are constantly reopening. I don't know if you know how poor people live but spoiler alert, they can't exactly pay for A+ treatment and psychological help and other stuff.
When you're living in such misery, small things like dyeing your hair or playing videogames can help a lot. You don't feel the need to be beautiful so other people can admire you, you don't own society shit, so you'll better do what you like if you want to find a reason to stay alive at all.
And don't even get me started on the jokes about them being incels or whatever. This is something way more personal for me but I'm tired of such complex characters being reduced to sexual matters. I couldn't care less about sex and being honest, knowing that the manga has said absolutely nothing about it, we're not even sure they do give a fuck either.
I apogize for my language.
Have a nice day.
And keep this all in mind.
