You're telling me Arthur and Eames aren't even the MAIN CHARACTERS? I had no idea Leonardo DiCaprio was in this movie, let alone the goddamn protagonist. A thought (question) about Parasocial Relationships, while being disabled.

Does anyone else whose disability clashes with socializing in mainstream public places (for whatever reason), and who therefore does most of their socializing online, like here on Tumblr, for example, worry that they're only cultivating parasocial relationships, and not actually social relationships?

I need people to relearn the difference between acquaintances and friends. An acquaintance is someone you know who you are friendly or polite with but isn't your friend. You probably know them from work or school or some similar setting. It doesn't go beyond that. A friend is someone you spend time with and develop a bond with outside of those settings. You know each other well. You *both* choose to involve one another in your lives. An acquaintance can turn into a friend, but that often takes time.

I feel like younger millennials and Gen Z either never learned this or forgot this...but you cannot force a friendship and not everyone who doesn't want to be your friend is a bad person and you do yourselves more harm than good than skipping the necessary steps to establish someone as your "best friend."
