5 Good Omens Timefucks that Haunt Me
1.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why is this here? Why is this line included? Is it just to add texture, to imply that larger world of corporate fascism of which Crowley and Aziraphale are subjects and victims and little worker bees? If so, why "They've started early" specifically? Why not "I wouldn't have expected that shrub to be the first to go" or "Aw, I liked that rock formation"?
Crawly doesn't make this comment in an offhand way: he sounds a bit taken aback and not thrilled that things have kicked off sooner than he anticipated. But it doesn't ultimately seem to make any difference to this scene, so why do we, the audience, need to know Hell started early?
2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This one I'm not as confident will turn out to be significant, because iirc it appears in the book, which was a complete story when written, and because it serves a narrative purpose: it puts Agnes Nutter in charge of the situation, not her murderers. By backfooting Witchfinder Major Pulsifer, Agnes startles him enough she's able to walk past him without Pulsifer seizing her and discovering the extra 80 lbs of gunpowder and roofing nails in her skirts.
But. Agnes Nutter's sense of time is Nice and Accurate, and she notices the witchburning party are late and remarks on it to herself before she says anything to Pulsifer. So assuming a few minutes to position Agnes, tie her to the stake, and read the charges and conviction against her, Pulsifer and Agnes' neighbors are 12-15 minutes later than they should be. Why?
If the book answers this question, I don't recall; the show does not. And again, it seems to make no ultimate difference to this scene.
I'm not saying this was even purposely included in S1 as a timefuck. I am suggesting that as Gaiman seems to be fucking with time or timelines in this story, even if he and Pratchett didn't plan it like this when discussing the sequel, a retcon is hardly out of the question.

As others have pointed out, Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5 is 45-55 minutes long. If you're listening to it on 78s instead of LPs because you are a CRAZY PERSON, it's going to take you more like 1 hour 5 minutes, because one side of a 78 holds, at most, 5 minutes of music, so every 5 minutes you have to get up and flip or switch the record.
Shostakovich wrote his 5th symphony in response to criticism in the state newspaper (possibly penned by Stalin himself) that his previous work didn't suck the Communist Party's dick hard enough--the kind of criticism that put him in danger of being sent to prison or killed. At the time it was first performed in 1937, Symphony No. 5 was considered a massive triumph, walking the line perfectly between Shostakovich's artistic standards and the Communist Party's demands of him.
The choice is symbolically significant, but it's a symphony, so whoever's censoring it isn't censoring lyrics or information. Again, why? Why is a 45-55-minute symphony only 21 minutes long? What did the time thief do with the 24-34 minutes?

Aziraphale does not change this rug for the party. We know this bc we see it in Episode 5 when Mrs Sandwich enters the bookshop and the party is in full swing:

Now here's Aziraphale moving the circular rug to expose the portal to Heaven:

But here's Crowley, putting the rug back:

Why are there two different rugs?
5.
Every end credits track has the first line of "Everyday" embedded in it But after the line from "Everyday," at the end of Episode 4, the theme skips twice like a vinyl record, and then is stopped by whoever controls the turntable and restarted, with several seconds of music having been skipped over.
This is not the first time it has mattered to a character in Good Omens what we in the audience see and hear. I argue here that God asks Aziraphale what he did with the flaming sword She gave him in order to show us the audience who Aziraphale is. God also addresses us the audience directly in S1, not only narrating about characters omnisciently but speaking to us about Herself in first person.
Now we evidently have a second character who has gone meta and is changing what we the audience experience of this story, and--indications are good--the story itself.

In the Kitchen - Wanda Maximoff
Tumblr media
Paring: Wanda Maximoff x Fem!Reader
Warning: 18+, Smut, Dom/Sub, Semi-Public Sex, Kitchen Sex, Cunnilingus, 50s Theme, Alternative Universe, My Shitty Writing.
Kinktober 1 - Kitchen Sex
You weren’t entirely thrilled receiving an invitation to the summer block party, thrown by your neighbor, Agnes. As fun as it may seem to fellow Westview residents, you rarely cared for the large, interactive crowds.
Instead, you enjoyed being in the presence of your family, whereas your wonderful wife, Wanda, was a social butterfly. Yet, even with these different traits, you still found some interesting ways to work around them.
Wanda glanced over her shoulder watching you walk through the kitchen door, well-dressed, and fresh out of the shower.
“Almost ready, my love?” She asked with the sweetest, most loving tone, untying the white, laced apron around her waist to lay it on top of the countertop, watching as you walked through the kitchen door, well-dressed, and fresh out of a shower.
“Almost,” You repeated, leaning into the side of the counter, feeding the thin, leather belt through your trousers, noticing the silence that filled the active household, “Did the boys already head outside?”
“Yeah, they’re out on the lawn playing with Señor Scratchy.”
You took a moment to admire the missis. She looked absolutely stunning, standing there, dressed in her new blouse, bought specially for this occasion, and a bright, flowy pencil skirt that stopped mid-knee, hugging her hips in just the right places.
You came up from behind and wrapped your arms around her waist, chest pressing into her back while your chin lowered upon her shoulder with pursed, pouty lips, “Sure we can’t stay home today?”
“Honey, we have to show up to the block party, Agnes is counting on us to bring the pies. I just hope I followed her grandmother's recipe correctly..." She said, glancing down at the recipe card, squinting her eyes, and knitting her brows together at the barely eligible writing scribbled across it.
Wanda quickly caught her bottom lip between her teeth, her attention was now set on the warmth spreading through her entire body as your lips began to lay kisses along the back of her neck, her floral-scented perfume filling your nose as you hummed softly and allowed your hands to caress her round, curved hips.
Wanda sighed softly, cheeks growing a shade of scarlet as she tilted her neck to the side, allowing you more space to do as you please.
Intoxicated by your touch and attention.
You move up slowly, soft lips brushing against the ridge of her ear, sending a shiver down her spine, whispering in that dominant tone, “mhm, least I’ll have my gorgeous wife by my side,”
She spun around in your embrace, laying her hands upon your clothed frame and sliding from your waist up to your breasts to adjust the collar of your long-sleeved button-up.
“You know, no one would mind us being a few minutes late,” You suggested knowingly, inching your face closer to hers, “Just a little taste, baby?”
Wanda immediately looked around seeing the many open windows surrounding the two of you, along with the frequently used door leading into the kitchen, “In here? W-what if someone sees us, or the kids walk in on us?”
“No one will catch us, darling. I’ll be listening for the door the entire time.”
That look on your face tells everything she needs to know, all your wants and desires, without even having to read your mind. It made her ache for your touch. “Promise?”
“I promise.” You smirked, watching her slowly move in, lacing her arms around your neck and connecting her lips to yours for a deep, intimate kiss.
Before she could think, you pinned her to the kitchen counter and grabbed ahold of her upper thighs to swiftly place her on top, causing a soft gasp to escape her lips. Your action sends a wave of heat between her thighs. She loved it when you’re forceful.
Wanda slowly kicked off her pearl-colored kitten heels, dropping them to the floor as she draped her arms over your shoulders, feeling your hands massage the underside of her smooth legs, the metal of your wedding ring cold and prominent against her skin, reminding her of the undying love you share for each other.
With a twist of her wrist, her fingers blazed with red translucent energy, using her powers to suddenly close the kitchen shutters that looked in on the dining room table and living room, giving the two of you some much-needed privacy.
Wasting no time, you pushed her skirt up and discarded her white panties to the floor, kneeling down, face inches away from her pretty, hairless pussy, already glistening with arousal.
Eyes fluttering shut, taking in her sweet aroma with each breath before pressing your warm, wet tongue just above her entrance, licking a long, teasingly slow strip between her folds till you reach her sensitive bud, feeling her pulsate beneath your touch.
Wanda sucked in a sharp breath, instantly dropping her hands up to grab ahold of your hair and push you deeper, showing you exactly where she needed you the most, causing you to devilishly smirk at your beautiful wife before pulling her hood back ever so slightly to reveal her swollen, sensitive clitoris, finally giving her some well-deserved attention.
The second the tip of your tongue swirled around, a pretty moan escaped her lips. Her head arching back as she squeezes your hair between her fingers, feeling the heat already pooling in her stomach. The weight of her gorgeous thighs now strung over your steady shoulders.
“Best keep those eyes on me, sweetheart…” You said in less of a suggestion and more of an order, “I wouldn't want you to miss the show.”
Wanda’s heavy gaze lowered, lashes batting as she watched your tongue work and maneuver her sweet spots between those pink, puffy lips, licking and teasing till her legs were trembling around your head.
Your mind was set on one thing, getting a taste of that sweet cum gushing across your lips.
Her little pornographic sounds began to build, more and more, until they were spilling out of the kitchen. She was struggling to remain quiet.
Wanda bunched the beautifully old-fashioned material of her dress in the palm of her hand, digging her long, painted nails into the fabric as her other hand reached down to grip the edge of the wooden counter, searching for any form of support so she could roll her hips on your tongue.
A coil lay in her stomach, tensing and tightening, pulling her closer to release.
“Mhm, that’s it, pretty baby,” You growl, grabbing hold of her hips over the soft material of her skirt to arch her pelvis forward and hold her still while you sink into her wet, tight hole, allowing your tongue to side in and out relentlessly, stroking her velvety walls while you fucked her forcefully.
“Please, I'm gonna come! Y-you're gonna- make me cu-mmuhh~” She reached her tipping point, eyes rolling to the back of her head and her body tensing under your touch, unable to hold back any longer.
Her cunt contracted, releasing her sweet juices along your tastebuds, painting your tongue like so many times before, yet every time, it was just as sweet as the last.
You happily cleaned her up, and slowly dragged your hands down, planting gentle kisses along her plush inner thigh while you ogled your wife, who was beautiful as ever with that dazed, euphoric look across her face.
The sound of the front door slamming shut instantly caught your attention. Your eyes broaden, listening to Billy shout from the living room, “Mom? Mom? Hey, where is everyone?”
Wanda gasped, hurriedly standing to her feet, hands flattening down her skirt, and slipping back into her heels as you swiped her panties from the floor and tucked them into your back pocket.
“We’re in the kitchen.” You spoke up, dragging your thumb over your bottom lip, collecting the rest of her juices to lick away before gazing in her direction, “We’ll be finishing this later.”
She blushingly smiled, trying to hide it as soon as Billy and Tommy rushed through the swinging door with pure excitement on their faces.
You made her needy, sick thoughts begin to wander, anticipating sundown when the kids are tucked away in bed, peacefully asleep while their moms finally have some alone time.

Am I the only one who thinks that Bertha will approve of Marian and Larry in season 3?
I keep seeing people say that they think she’ll have a problem with it, but I honestly don’t think so because…
She seems to like Marian. Inviting her to dinners and parties. Apologizing to her in season 1 when there wasn’t room for her in their party for the electric lighting that Mr. Raikes was invited to. Letting her be in their Met Opera box. Greeting her at the Easter service. That points to liking her.
Her problem with Mrs. Blaine was that she was twice Larry’s age. Marian is not.
Unlike Gladys, Larry doesn’t have to marry for position and money. He can marry for love. He can basically marry whoever he wants without much say from his parents.
In my opinion, when it comes to obstacles due to family, Bertha isn’t going to be the problem. It’s going to be Aunt Agnes. She’s the one that’s going to disapprove.
Yes, the roles are about to changed between Aunt Ada and Aunt Agnes, so with that in mind, I’m not sure how that will affect Marian and Larry’s relationship going forward, but one thing is for sure, the problem is still going to be Agnes.
I’m also someone who doesn’t believe that Mrs. Blaine will come back into the picture by way of being pregnant with Larry’s child because the writers admitted in post-finale interviews that Larry and Marian was always the plan. It was just a matter of when, not if. There’s going to be obstacles, that’s a given, but if they were always the plan, I doubt they would ruin that by making Larry father another woman’s child. I feel like that’s why they had Bertha say to Mrs. Blaine that she couldn’t give him an heir when she told her to break it off with Larry.
Also, I saw someone say that Larry and Marian are based on a historical couple that were across the street neighbors, where one was old money and the other was new money, so…there’s that aspect as well.
In any case, I’m so excited for season 3. And I can’t wait to see what happens between Larry and Marian, but for all the characters. The renewal news was the best early Christmas present that I could ask for.

Summer | Wanda Maximoff
A Stripper MILF Wanda Cinematic Universe Story
Summary: Summer in Westview is quite the adventure :)
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x Male Reader
Warnings: Mild language, innuendo
Word Count: 2.7K
Masterlist
The week you took vacation from work was the hottest week on record for the small suburban town of Westview, New Jersey.  There were a million things on your to do list, but the sweltering heat and stifling humidity sapped all of your energy.  The shed needed to be painted, the driveway needed resealing, and you promised Wanda that you’d finally go through the boxes of “stuff” that were sitting in the basement.  Yet all you wanted to do was sit on the back porch with a beer, work on your tan, and stare out over the sparkling ripples of water in the pool that you didn’t have…until today.
It was meant to be a surprise for Billy and Tommy, but you and Wanda both had to admit that you were excited, too.  Talk of a pool started as a joke.  The idea of actually going through with it seemed absurd at first: the yard wasn’t all too big, taking care of a pool was a lot of work, it wasn’t exactly cheap to have it installed in the first place…your shared list of excuses stretched on and on.  Yet the more the two of you joked about it, the more you found yourselves falling in love with the idea of your own personal oasis.
Keeping the pool a secret wasn’t as hard as you thought it would be.  Although Billy and Tommy often made passing remarks about wanting a pool as the temperature rose, Wanda kept them in check with a smart remark about money not growing on trees or an eye roll.  More often than not they dropped the subject.  But it was frequently followed by a subtle smirk or knowing glance in your direction: the boys had no idea what was coming.
On this hot and hazy Thursday morning, after Billy and Tommy were picked up by the school bus on their way to summer day camp, the local pool installation company pulled into the driveway.  Since you were getting an above ground pool, it would be finished before the boys got home from camp.
“So who’s gonna get in the water first?” you asked Wanda as you sat in your Adirondack chairs on the back porch.  “Billy or Tommy?”
“Tommy.  Definitely.  I’m not even sure he’ll change out of his clothes before he jumps in,” Wanda chuckled.  She swirled her straw around the glass of freshly squeezed iced tea, the ice cubes clanking around the glass as she looked out at the two workers setting up the walls of the pool.
“And you’re sure we can’t get in as soon as they’re done filling it up?  That we have to wait for the boys to get home?”
“Y/N-”
“Only kidding, my love,” you retorted.  Truthfully you weren’t kidding.  The donut floaty wasn’t for them…
******
“Still can’t believe we actually did this,” you thought aloud, skimming your hand across the surface of the water.  The sun bounced its crisp surface as the blue liner sparkled brightly underneath the ripples.  You smiled as your fingers broke the surface.
“The boys are going to love it,” Wanda replied as she splashed the water around.
“Yeah, sure, they’ll love it, but think of all the fun we’ll have with it.”
“Oh?”
“Two words: skinny dipping.”
“Y/N!” Wanda blushed bright red at your devilish thought, but you knew that she was just as excited about the prospect of a late night nude swim as you were.  You ducked out of the way when she splashed water in your direction.  “We have neighbors!”
“And-?”
“I don’t think Agnes would appreciate seeing either of us naked.”
“We don’t know that,” you answered with a knowing grin.
“Keep it up and you’ll be the one going in the pool with your clothes on,” she warned.  Suddenly Wanda reached for her pocket, her soft marimba text tone echoing softly against the soft hum of the pool pump.  “Shit,” she muttered.
“What?”
“Kate called out, they’re one girl short for the 3-11 shift,” Wanda sighed.
“Do you want to go in?” you asked.
“Not really, but it looks like I’ll have to.”  Wanda placed her phone in her back pocket, rubbing her temples as she stared into the pool.
“Hey, don’t worry about it.  I can watch the boys tonight.  It’ll be some good bonding time for us.”
“No, I know you can watch them, I just wanted to be home for this tonight.”
“I mean I don’t know about them but I think I can find a way to make it up to you later,” you teased with a wink.  Wanda merely shook her head and smiled as she headed back inside.
“Sex isn’t always the answer to everything, Y/N,” she replied over her shoulder.
“Who said I was talking about sex?!”
******
“STOP RIGHT THERE!” You extended both arms in front of you as Billy and Tommy jumped off the school bus and ran up the front porch.
“He did it!” Tommy yelled, pointing an accusing finger at his twin.
“What did I do?” Billy exclaimed.  “Whatever it is, he did it!”  The accusation sent the two into a back and forth of hearsay until you managed to intervene before push came to shove.
“Woah!  Take it easy, dudes.  No one’s in trouble.  Your mom got called into work so it’s just us tonight.  Which is cool.  We were just gonna grill up some burgers for dinner later, but there is a surprise for you in the backyard.”
“Dirt bikes?!” Tommy asked giddily.
“A trampoline?!” Billy asked, his eyes wide with excitement.
“Why don’t you go out back and check it out for yourself?”  You grinned at them as you lowered your arms, allowing them to push each other out of the way as they trampled up the steps of the front porch.  “Don’t kill each other before you get there!”
Before long shouts and cries of awe and excitement echoed from the backyard.  There was no doubt that they were overjoyed at the sight of the brand new pool.  It didn’t take that much longer for them to rid themselves of their backpacks and t-shirts and scramble into the crisp, cool water.  You laughed to yourself, extremely grateful that you yourself didn’t have to wait any longer to indulge.  Throwing on your swim trunks, which you pre-set in the downstairs bathroom, you practically dove in on top of the boys.
The three of you spent the next few hours splashing about in the cool water.  Billy was the first one to find your donut floaty, much to your chagrin.  You instantly felt you had to reclaim your rightful place on said floaty so naturally you flipped him off and climbed inside.  That started an intense game of king of the hill.  Tommy convinced Billy to team up against you.  They attempted to sneak around you and swim up from underneath the floaty in an effort to flip you over.  They failed.  Multiple times.  Eventually you ended up dunking both of them, flipping them off the floaty after they thought they had you beat.
Once you were thoroughly waterlogged, you grabbed your towel to dry off.  The boys begged to stay in just a little bit longer.  You relented only on the condition that nobody mention it to Wanda.  That was the mantra of the evening: don’t tell Wanda.  Don’t tell Wanda you flipped both boys underwater, don’t tell Wanda you let them stay in the pool for as long as they did, and definitely don’t tell Wanda how you accidentally set Agnes’ tree on fire.
******
“Y/N, are you sure you were a Boy Scout?” Tommy asked as you failed to spark the bonfire for the dozenth time.
“I don’t think he was a real Boy Scout ‘cause we’d definitely have a huge fire by now,” Billy whispered rather loudly to Tommy.
“Either one of you think you could do a better job?”  You twisted around, lighter alternating between their reluctant faces.  The stunned silence gave you their answer.  “That’s what I thought,” you responded as you turned back to the firepit.  Standing there, hands on your hips, you harrumphed at the pitiful pile of sticks in front of you.  Normally it was no trouble starting a fire.  You’d done it plenty of times before.  Something just wasn’t working.
“Now what?” Billy asked, his head cocked at an angle as he watched you staring at the pit.
Sighing, you rubbed your temples as you weighed your options.  There was no way you were going to let the night end without some sort of pyrotechnic display.  That and you really wanted a s’more.  So there was only one real option left: a little bit of help.
“Hey Tommy, can you go grab the can of gas from the garage?  And Billy, can you go grab the newspaper from the counter?”
“Seriously?  Mom’s gonna kill you,” Billy told you.
“And that’s why we’re not going to tell her about this, okay?”  Billy, always his mother’s son, rolled his eyes before heading to the kitchen.  Tommy, on the other hand, sprinted toward the garage.  Once the boys returned, you doused the kindling with the accelerant and wadded up the newspaper, stuffing it in every nook and cranny.  “Alright, now stand back.  I don’t want you two too close in case this thing goes poof.”  Grabbing the box of matches, you struck three against the side of the box and tossed them onto the pile.
The resulting explosion was impressive to say the least.  The shockwave from the ignition caused you to stumble backwards as a fireball shot high into the sky.  Billy and Tommy both cheered as the fire came into existence, but they weren’t the only ones yelling.
“MY TREE’S ON FIRE!” Agnes yelled out the window.  “YOU SET MY TREE ON FIRE!  WHY IS MY TREE ON FIRE?!”
“Shit!” you muttered as you raced for the hose.  You apologized profusely as you sprayed the water over Agnes’ tree and the fire itself, extinguishing everything until it was a smoldering mess.  The boys muttered to themselves the entire time, watching wide eyed as you scrambled to put out the fire and Agnes leaned out her bedroom window in her nightgown to yell at you about trying to kill her.
“Does this fall under the ‘don’t tell mom’ category?” Billy asked not-so-innocently.
“Breathe a word of this to your mother and I drain the pool.”
******
Wanda returned from her shift around 11:30.  The boys were already asleep and you were on the couch with another beer trying to figure out how to keep Wanda from learning about your near-disaster with the bonfire.  It felt like the future of your relationship rested on how well Billy and Tommy could keep their mouths shut.
“Hey,” Wanda called softly as you heard her bag thud to the floor.  “How’d it go with the boys?”
“Oh you know,” you replied.  “They kept trying to drown each other in the pool and then when I got in they tried to drown me.”
“And everyone tells me boys are easier than girls,” Wanda sighed.  “Or at least that’s what Agnes tells me.  She tells me a lot of things, you know.”
“Oh?”  Shit.  She knew.  “Like what?”
“Like how you practically blew up the neighborhood a few hours ago.”  Wanda stood in front of you, her arms crossed as she glared down at you.
“Okay she’s exaggerating.  It wasn’t the whole neighborhood, it was just the backyard.”  That wasn’t making things any better.  Wanda continued glaring at you.  You couldn’t tell whether she was going to murder you in your sleep or do it right there.
“It’s a good thing I love you, mister, or you’d be sleeping on the couch for a month,” she scolded as she shook her head.  You gulped as a wave of relief flooded over your body.  “Now how’s the water?”
“What?”
“The water.  In the pool.  How is it?”
“Uhh fine, good.  Refreshing?  Wanda-”
“Come on,” she said, extending her hand.  “Let’s go for a swim.”
“Now?!  Wanda, it’s almost midnight!”
“And?” she replied as she pulled her t-shirt off.
“You brought your swimsuit to work?” you asked, casually pointing at her burnt orange bikini top.  “You brought a bikini to work?”  You were practically drooling as Wanda undid the buttons on her jean shorts, sliding them down her legs and kicking them in your direction.  All she did was smirk.  “Goddamn, woman.”
“Go get yours on and meet me outside.”  She turned on her heel and walked toward the backyard, her bikini bottoms leaving nothing to the imagination.
You raced upstairs for your swim trunks, the other pair you knew Wanda would love.  There was no way you’d wear these ones around the boys for obvious reasons, but around your lover?  Without a second thought.  The bright red, three inch, leave nothing to the imagination shorts were packed deep in the depths of your underwear drawer.  You pulled them out, quickly exchanging your gym shorts for the trunks before dashing back downstairs.
Wanda was already in the pool by the time you got outside.  In the pale moonlight, your girlfriend was ethereal.  The light reflected off her pale skin, dancing on the soft ripples of water.  She was sitting in your donut floaty.  Her head rested on the plastic frosting and her eyes were closed in a state of relaxation.  Her feet kicked lazily in the cool water, beads of water rolling down her legs as she let the stress of her unexpected shift melt off her.  She looked absolutely at peace.
Yeah, we’re gonna fix that, you thought as you walked over to the pool.  Taking great care, you climbed the ladder as quietly as you could and entered the water with the utmost stillness you could muster.  You shivered as the water creeped up your legs and over your waist as you crouched down.  The pool wasn’t too big so you didn’t have far to swim.  As soon as you were underneath Wanda, you pushed against the bottom of the pool and upward, completely tossing her off the floaty and into the water.
Wanda screeched as she felt herself fly off the floaty and into the water.  She kicked and sputtered as she came up for air. You, on the other hand, were doubled over in laughter.
“What the HELL, Y/N?!” Wanda shouted as you continued laughing.
“Sorry, sorry,” you apologized between laughs.  Wanda looked absolutely furious as she cocked her head at you, pushing a wet strand of hair out of her face.
“Fine.  If that’s how you want it.”  With that, Wanda began wading over toward you with a devilish look in her eyes.
“Wanda, what are-?” Before you could finish your thought, your girlfriend wrapped you in her strong arms and practically body slammed you underwater.  The waves crashed over you again and again before settling.  “Not fair!” you sputtered, coughing up the water you were currently choking on.
“You started it!” Wanda reminded you.
“You’re insufferable.”
“And your dick looks huge in those trunks,” she smirked, glancing down at the shorts that had practically molded themselves to your body.
“Didn’t think I needed the trunks for that statement to be true, Wands,” you replied cheekily.
“Oh you don’t.  I’m just admiring the presentation, that’s all.”  Wanda waded toward you as she continued to eye your bulge.  “And you’ve even got it wrapped up in a nice bow.  How thoughtful.”
“Here?  Right now?” Your heart caught in your throat as she slipped her fingers inside the waistband of your shorts.
“Weren’t you the one who suggested we go skinny dipping earlier?”
“Come on babe, I was just joking.”
“I know,” Wanda chuckled as she tugged your waistband toward her.  “I’m just teasing.  But I think you could stand to loosen up a little.”
“I…you’re not wrong there.”  You shook your head as you laughed at her.
“The boys asleep?” she asked, glancing up toward their room.  You nodded, noticing the lack of light coming from the room.  “Basement?”
“Works for me,” you shrugged.  You yelped as Wanda snapped your waistband back against you.
“Come on, tiger.  I don’t wanna wait much longer.”

Westview should be perfect.
A home, a husband, and adorable children to care for.
So why was Wanda so damn bored?
"See you later, Mom!" Was the boys' unison goodbye before they walked out the door, dressed in their school uniforms.
Wanda isn't sure when or how school for the boys started, but it was part of the routine now. As long as Vision was at work, she had the whole house to herself.
And it was fucking tedious.
She would clean, read a little, and if she was lucky Agnes would visit with some gossip for an hour or two until it was time to pick up the kids.
Everything is in its proper place.
Until one sunny afternoon, Wanda hears a motorcycle.
She is not the only one who is curious about the sounds - Agnes and the neighbor across the street, Mrs. Bennet, are also on the sidewalk, trying to get a better look at who is arriving at the house next to Wanda's.
It is noisy, and out of the norm. The vehicle, the sound of the radio. The person, with dark jeans like glasses, and messy hair.
Something in Wanda's chest flutters as she meets your gaze, and she swallows dryly at the complete coldness in your eyes in turning away and getting off the bike, ignoring not only her but all the other curious neighbors as you make your way to the house next door, now with the 'sold' sign covering the previous 'for sale'.
She is back in her own living room in record time, her heart racing in a disconcerting way.
Well, that seems to be the end of the boredom at least.
For the next few days, Wanda is determined to find out everything she can about her mysterious new neighbor. Luckily for her, Agnes seems equally interested and shows up at her house shortly after the kids have left.
"[...] No children, or partners. The moving truck arrived earlier today, and I saw some painting supplies, which suggests we have an artist among us." Narrated the neighbor cheerfully, and Wanda tried to disguise how very interested she was. "Ralph also recognized an NYU sweatshirt, so she must have a degree. And she looks pretty young to me, doesn't she?"
Wanda nods, half thoughtfully. Your house was next door to hers, and at this point, she could hear some sounds of objects being dragged around that suggested you were tidying up the place. Agnes took advantage of the distracted silence to suggest:
"Maybe we should say hello?"
Wanda immediately raised her eyes. "You think?"
The older woman chuckled. "Of course. But let's bring something as a welcome gift to her. May I ask, are you good at baking, honey?"
You were wearing a half-open jumpsuit and pinned up your hair to answer the door, and Wanda was seeing too much skin to be able to say anything.
Thank god Agatha was present.
"Welcome to the neighborhood, darling, we've brought you a welcome gift." She greeted cheerfully, and you blinked in surprise at her sudden arrival. "I'm Agnes, Wanda's next-door neighbor on the right. And you?"
You quickly said your name, accepting the other's greeting. "Let me put that away." You said as your gaze fell on Wanda and the cake she brought. She didn't notice that you took the warm package without any difficulty, busy returning Agnes's look of complicity as she took your cue of leaving to enter the house as well.
"Nice changes you're making all around, dear." Agnes commented on the new paint being put over the old, and you let out a short chuckle from the living room.
"Oh, thank you. I like this color better." You muttered as you placed the cake on the countertop.
"Forgive us for not coming sooner, we were waiting for you to stabilize yourself first." Said the older woman, and gave Wanda a gentle nudge for her silence. The witch cleared her throat softly, trying to start a decent conversation.
She - More Agnes honestly - ended up confirming that you had moved in alone and that you had just graduated from college. No family, and in your words, you allowed a dice to pick your new town. Agnes found the story a bit absurd, but Wanda felt her stomach fill with butterflies.
Something about your care·free attitude and casualness made her shiver.
"Anyway, I'm here now." You finish with a small smile and your hands in your pockets. "Painting my new home in American suburban New Jersey."
There was regret or sarcasm hidden in your tone of voice that made Wanda's curiosity explode. She wanted to know you, inside out, every thought, dream, or wish.
But when she thought of peeking in, Agnes gave her a gentle nudge.
"Well, let's not take up any more of your time, dear." Said the lady, discreetly pushing the redhead toward the door. "Come by some time at the local club, you need to meet Ralph and Vision."
You blink, raising an eyebrow. "Vision?"
"My husband." Wanda replies half hoarsely, having completely forgotten Vis's existence for all that conversation. She clears her throat. "You two should-must meet. Him and my boys, Tommy and Billy."
You smile, and because Wanda is already outside, you put an arm around the doorpost and she feels her face heat up. "I'd love to, Miss Maximoff."
Agnes clears her throat. "And of course don't forget my husband, Ralph."
You don't take your eyes off Wanda. "Sure, Agatha."
Wanda frowns, but the woman next to her lets out a loud exclamation with a graceless laugh. "It's Agnes, dear!"
You blink away from the redhead, equally ungainly. "Oh, yes, of course, Agnes. My mistake."
"Come on, Wanda, let's just let her get back to work."
You offer the redhead a wink, and it's enough for Wanda to remember nothing strange about that encounter.
—//—-
Not that Wanda was counting, but it took six days for her to talk to you again.
She saw you before though - twice in the supermarket, and because Billy and Tommy were making a mess, Wanda didn't have the heart to disturb your choice of apples by approaching you, you didn't see her. And on Monday she watched you leave the house early with a little animal house under your arm, and she almost dropped her lunch to run and ask you about it, wondering if you had pets or not, but on second thought, she figured it would have been kind of creepy.
It was only on the weekend that you went to the club, and everyone was around, and Wanda thought she was going to suffocate.
Vision was rubbing sunscreen on the boys, and Wanda said she forgot a magazine in the car, but she just searching for you.
"Hey, stranger." She tried to greet you in the most casual way she could, getting the impression that you were a little startled by the soft jump you gave. But when you turned around, you smiled so sincerely that Wanda almost melted.
"Hello, Miss Maximoff, good to see you." You said gently.
Wanda giggled shyly. "When you call me that I feel very old."
You smiled with the worst intentions, licking your lips and making Wanda shudder with the intensity of your gaze.
"Old is not an adjective I would use to describe you, Wanda."
She sighed softly, her cheeks warm. "And how would you describe me?" She risks.
But you chuckle short and affected, lowering your gaze and shaking your head softly. "Married." You reply, and Wanda feels as if a bucket of cold water has fallen on her. "See you around, Miss Maximoff." You say as soon as the bike is locked, holding her arm in farewell before heading to the pool area.
Wanda feels her skin tingle all the way back.
–//–
Okay, she clearly had a problem.
Her perfect life was being threatened by an inconvenience, and that should be completely impossible because everything should be perfect in Westview.
And the more Wanda tried to fix it, the more wrapped up in her throbbing attraction to her neighbor, drowning in plot after plot that only made her wonder how much she wanted to satisfy her curiosity and drove her more frustrated and irritated as time went by.
You seemed to be everywhere - Somehow, the school had an art program and now Wanda saw you every morning when she went to pick up or drop off Billy and Tommy, and of course, the boys loved their cool new teacher, and wouldn't shut up about it. But your presence seems to have influenced - in Vision's words - the young troublemakers in the neighborhood, who should be learning from your bad influence to do graffiti everywhere. Vision grumbled about this when not talking about work.
And Wanda, well, she had enough.
You found the knocking so late at night strange, but you were awake - or Wanda assumed you were, by the sweater and the speed in answering the door. Or maybe you were already waiting for her. No, that would be ridiculous.
"Can I help you...?" You started, but Wanda bumped into your shoulder as she rushed in, and you let out a wry laugh. "Sure, come on in."
She ignored your joke, making her way to the living room, and ran a hand through her hair nervously, waiting for you to reach her.
"What do you want Wanda?" You asked with your arms crossed.
Wanda took a deep breath. "You have to leave."
You frowned. "Excuse me?"
She stepped forward. "I have everything I ever wanted here. You can't just show up and threaten all of that."
You raised an eyebrow. "I don't-"
"I'm not done talking." She interrupts and you bite your tongue, a smile threatening to break on your lips as Wanda continues to approach. "I have a husband and children. It's perfect. Everything is...perfect."
"Then why are you here?" You challenge, and Wanda swallows hard.
"I don't know." She responds, but you chuckle, and it's your turn to start approaching to which she responds by taking a step back with each one you take near her. Once her back hits the wall of new, dry colors, Wanda chokes softly.
"I think I know." You begin toward her, one hand landing at the side of her head, and the other reaching up to move a strand of hair behind her ear. Wanda, though trembling over the touch, lifts her chin proudly, challenging your response. Your smile is cocky when you speak. "You are desperate to feel something real."
Wanda opens her mouth, once and twice, indignant. But she has no words to disagree. She takes a deep breath, and all your perfume fills her senses, and she resists the urge to close her eyes. She makes mention of speaking, but you do so first.
"Shh, let me show you how it is supposed to feel." You whisper before breaking the distance, and not too surprisingly, it is the best thing Wanda has ever felt.
Your lips are soft and experienced on hers, almost as if molded to kiss her. You slide your tongue into hers as soon as permission is granted, and the sensation makes Wanda's legs buckle. She doesn't have to worry because your arms tighten around her and her back is pressed against the wall. The kiss grows hungry and you gasp against each other's mouths, hearts racing in synchrony.
"Fuck, I need to touch you." You pant between kisses, and it's the only line of warning Wanda has before she feels your hands invade her blouse, scratching at her belly and making her squirm. But suddenly you hesitate, and are almost unsure when you ask, "Can I? You... are you sure?"
Wanda almost laughs. She feels that she is burning from the inside out and that if you don't fuck her now she might have a little breakdown and you still have doubts that she wants to. There will be another time for her to investigate this, she will learn about you. At that moment she just brings one hand to your neck and spins you around on the wall so that your back hits the concrete.
And now when she kisses you it is firm and possessive and makes you whimper. Your hands wander and bring her pleasure, but it is clear who is in charge.
–//–
It starts out casual, but certainly, this is not how Wanda feels now.
Whenever the opportunity is there, she takes it. And honestly, part of her feels that the opportunities are blooming like flowers in spring. It's probably because Westview is supposed to be perfect, good, and amazing, and the only time she feels that way is in your company.
You haven't given a name to what you are doing, and Wanda doesn't want to think about the ring on her finger, not when you make her feel so good.
So you keep meeting her; with more and more ridiculous excuses than the previous ones, helping with a broken pipe, bringing supplies of paint even though Wanda doesn't paint anything, bringing schoolwork that the kids could pick up the other day, helping to mow the lawn, staying the afternoon for cake, tea, helping her with the grocery bags. And these were just the days that happened in her house.
After a while, you got the impression that Wanda didn't even worry about excuses anymore. Maybe it was your fault - for the way you have grown jealous of Vision and she knows it. She knows not because she tries to scan every inch of your mind in her frustrated attempts, but because every time you witness Vision showing any kind of affection, she is at the forefront of a rough and intense fucking session.
Like when Vision left for work last week while you were collecting the newspaper in your backyard and he thought it was a sweet idea to come back and kiss her before he left, and you barely waited for the kids to leave for school to come in the back door and fuck Wanda in the kitchen counter.
Without her magic, she wouldn't be able to hide the marks of your lips on her body.
And despite the risk, Wanda loves it.
But then it starts to scare her because she just might love a different thing.
Westview is a ticking time bomb. Wanda doesn't know it, but you do. Things happen to the breaking point, and it's in everything-from starting to ask questions that would require a little more thought that will make people stutter at the fantasy flaws, to immensely more pleasurable things, like affecting Wanda enough.
"Ah- kurva dieťa!" She cursed breathlessly, shuddering beneath you, her nails digging hard into your back. But your movements didn't fail, the fake cock thrusting inside her wet pussy with a delicious precision that made Wanda see stars. "D-don't stop-don-ah!"
You ripped orgasm after orgasm, until she was exhausted, begging for a break, the wet sheets of her juices beneath you.
"Just one more, my love. Just one more." You coerced so meekly that Wanda almost came with your voice alone, and this time your hands entwined with hers at the side of her head. And it was too intimate.
Your thrusts were deep, and with each movement of your hips, Wanda gasped, struggling for air as the knot in her belly prepared to break.
Her room around you however began to fail. The illusion sustained by her magic vibrating as if the transmission was failing. The sound drew you in, but as soon as your movement faltered and you made mention of looking away, she brought a firm hand to your chin and pulled you down as she entwined a leg around your waist.
She looked absurdly stunning beneath you, and there was no interest in looking away from her.
Wanda came so hard that the whole room vibrated, and you followed her, getting a satisfied moan when she felt the hot cum inside her.
You held her for the entire moment as you both calmed down from your orgasms, and this time, when you went to get up as you always did, she held you back.
"But..."
"No." She interrupted sleepily, pulling you back onto the bed so that she could hold you and lay on top of you. "No one will come. Stay here with me."
You didn't question, sliding your hands to wrap around her.
–//–
You're not surprised that Agatha rats you out. Time bomb after all.
Still, seeing the look of hurt in Wanda's eyes breaks your heart into a thousand pieces.
"You too?" She asks with tears in her eyes, powerless in that dark basement you have just entered.
"It's not what you're thinking." You try, but Agatha rolls her eyes impatiently.
"No time for Shakesperean drama, be honest, Y/N. Wanda is in need of facing the truth, for once in her life." Ironizes the witch, and you swallow dryly, taking a step forward but remembering not to cross the determined space of the runes.
"Witches everywhere have felt your magic, Wanda. But only a few have made it into Hex." You say. "Each came here with their own reasons."
"And why are you here?" Wanda asks wearily, and you sigh.
"It's hard to explain..."
"Nonsense." Agatha cuts in again, gesturing. "We all want power, in one way or another. No more games, or drama. Everyone wants to know how you did it, Wanda, and it's time for you to show us."
The redhead gives you one last hurt look before raising her chin to the older witch.
And you know she won't give anything up without a fight.
She wins, and Agatha is trapped in the only remaining illusion of what was once Westview.
You watch from a distance as Wanda goes to say goodbye to her family, and you don't intrude on that moment. You wouldn't want her to hate you even more.
Your motorcycle really is yours, so it is what you drive to get out of town.
Your grandparents' cabin has been your home since you completed your training at the Kamar Taj - and since you gave it all up for a quiet life in the mountains.
You only have a few days since Westview in your familiar solitude, however.
"You are unbelievable." That's the first thing Wanda says as she appears in your yard, impatient and angry. "After everything that happened between us, you just walked away?"
You blink in surprise at the scene for a moment, but recover when she starts walking toward you.
"I thought you didn't want to talk to me."
"Oh, but you will talk." She retorts with a poisoned sarcasm as she grabs your wrist to pull you inside the cabin. "You'll explain everything."
"Yes, ma'am." You murmured affectedly, Wanda pushing you in the first armchair and crossing her arms and tapping a foot, waiting.
You cleared your throat and told her everything - From the Hex power emission that alerted the Kamar Taj and made Wong recruit you to investigate, to the fact that you in theory were in Westview to undo the spell but you ended up getting distracted.
Wanda ignored the redness of your cheeks. "But Agatha said you wanted power."
You rolled your eyes. "That nosy old hag." You grumbled. "She was distorting things, but the way it all went down, I figured you wouldn't believe me. She had you in a basement and your kids locked up, and I was there, you see? Even if I tried to explain the whole story, you wouldn't believe me."
"And why didn't you help me? Why did you let her take the boys?" Inquired the impatient witch, and you swallowed dryly, bowing your head guiltily.
"I'm sorry, I... I have to admit that I wanted to see where that would go." You say, taking a deep breath. "Wanda it was all an illusion in that town. It was the best kind of magic I've ever witnessed, and when I arrived, Agatha approached me first. She told me that she was also there to investigate and that we didn't need to get in each other's way, we could even help each other."
Wanda narrowed her eyes. "In what way?"
You swallow dryly again. "I was there to undo the spell, and Agatha, well, she's a special kind of witch. She didn't lie, you know? When she said she takes power from those who don't deserve it. I heard that she made some kind of magical bargain, and now she is a collector. She would take your power and the spell would undo itself, so we'd both go home with what we wanted." You recount and settle uncomfortably on the couch, "B-but that was before you and I..."
Wanda looks away, running a hand through her hair. "We didn't mean anything, Y/N."
A hint of pain hits your chest, but you give a sad laugh, "You're full of shit."
But your accusation makes Wanda look at you with tear-filled eyes. "You were going behind my back, waiting for the right moment to stab me. Everything we had was a lie, a game for you to gain my trust and make me vulnerable. You're the one who's full of shit."
You sigh, getting up. "A witch kidnapped a town and held the entire population hostage. I was offered a deal, I took it." You begin seriously. "I had no idea who you were, what was going on. It was never personal. I went there to accomplish my mission, and I never thought I would fall in love with you." Wanda's eyes widen, but you are not intimidated by her shock, and you continue talking, taking another step forward. "I didn't know how Westview worked exactly, but everything was all too real there. You had a family, a husband. And you were my target. And I was completely surrendered to you. You have to understand, Wanda, that I had to consider all the possibilities. That maybe you were enchanting me too, that everything that happened was just part of your desires reflected in the magic. Agatha knew how to use my uncertainties against me when I confronted her, wishing to end our partner because I didn't want you to get hurt."
Wanda's gaze softens, and when your hand reaches for her cheek, she doesn't pull away.
You smile, "But I didn't have to worry. You totally kicked her ass."
Wanda moves her hand up to your wrist. "You could have told me." She whispers. "Or at least allowed me to take a look."
You smile in a corner, bringing your other hand to her cheek and enjoying the way Wanda leans into your touch.
"Haven't you ever heard the saying that we should only share our thoughts with our spouses?" You tease, rubbing your nose against hers and Wanda chuckles softly, sighing when your lips touch hers.
The kiss is tender, full of longing. And before she can deepen it, you break off, taking a deep breath with your forehead pressed against hers.
"You've got the book." You gasp softly, feeling the magical aura now. Wanda frowns softly, pulling her face away just to look at you.
"Do you know it?"
Her question makes you hesitate. But you force a smile and nod. Wanda catches every reaction, and proceeds to add:
"It is my only way to understand what I am."
You swallow dryly, your hands caressing her cheeks.
"Just promise me that no matter what the book shows you, you will remember that I am here. You're not alone."
Wanda doesn't understand at first, a mixed expression of confusion and curiosity fills her face. But she nods, and breaks the distance, whispering I promise between kisses.
You both stumble into the bedroom, and the darkhold is left somewhere in the dining hall.

College Series (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Part 1: Moving In
Pairing: Matt Murdock x Reader
Series Summary: Matt Murdock scarcely ever let himself get too comfortable with people because comfort was always followed by chaos, or worse, abandonment. But when you move into the co-ed apartment off campus, Matt thinks that maybe this time things will be different. At least, he really hopes so. And that might be the most naive thing he would do in his time studying law at Columbia University. Soon, his nights are filled with red wine, learning about Greek mythology and barely using his own bed to sleep in because yours is right down the hall.
A/N: This is basically me revamping what I always wanted "Library Series" to be, so I hope no one minds another college!Matt Murdock fic. I don't know if this will have a real plot yet, but I'll figure it out along the way. I hope you guys enjoy! :) This chapter is entirely in Matt's POV!
Ao3 Link
Matt Murdock walked down the sidewalk slowly, counting each step as he did until he could sense that he reached his supposed destination. He stopped with his cane in front of him and listened to his surroundings: rustling leaves, a woman walking her dog, and cars turning onto the narrow street in upper Manhattan.
The building he stood in front of was what he would be calling home for the next semester. Although he couldn’t see it, he knew it was a tall brownstone building with iron rails and large, wide steps. He could hear the creak in the old wood of the front door and the lock attached to it inside. He could hear the people inside the building moving boxes around and adjusting furniture. Strangers that he would be calling neighbors—for the time being, because people never stayed around forever.
Matt heavily sighs as he adjusts his shoulder bag and lugs his suitcase behind him, which isn’t filled with much: sweaters, shirts, jeans, underwear, sheets, toiletries, his Bible, and Orbit Reader. When he was packing at St. Agnes’ he didn’t think much about what he would need to bring. While some college students made lists and packed, and overpacked, Matt thought nothing more of it than just a new place to stay. Maybe it was because he was so used to packing the same suitcase and moving from destination to destination, that he’d become accustomed to moving around a lot. After all, he truly never had a home since his dad died. That was the only home he’d known. St. Agnes was just a place to stay.
With heavy shoulders, he walked up the steps one by one and shuffled in his duffle bag for the keys to the building. It was easy for him to pick it out. It was an old-fashioned skeleton key with an intricate gothic design he could trace with his fingertips. Once inside, he shut the heavy door behind him and stood once more before the long flight of stairs that would lead to his temporary apartment. Unfortunately, an elevator wasn’t an option.
He slowly trekked up the steps, passing each floor and the shut doors of other people moving in. Some were college kids, some weren’t, but he heard each and every conversation as he passed. It reminded him of when he was younger when he would sit in Clinton Church before mass and hear people praying to God. It was uncomfortable to hear personal things, but he’s gotten used to drowning out the noise and moving on.
After a few more flights, he finally reached the top floor of the building, which led to the apartment. It turned out to be the biggest one in the building. He pulled out the other key to the apartment and let himself inside, immediately hit with the smell of dust and old wood. He couldn’t sense any furniture in the living room, except for a small kitchen island with a marble countertop and an old wooden kitchen table set.
Matt traced his fingers along the wall as he slowly made his way to the hall that led to the bedrooms. First come, first serve he thought. There were two rooms closer to the front of the apartment with large windows—he could feel the cold draft coming in through them—and two rooms tucked towards the back. He immediately gravitated to the room furthest in the back. He didn’t like hearing the city at night, and he knew if he chose one of the rooms up front he’d never get a good night’s sleep. Then again, he seldom ever did.
When he opened the room’s door, he dropped his bags and held his hands out to feel for the bed. It was in the center of the room, which he didn’t like, so he moved it to fit right in one of the corners. He pressed his hands on the mattress—brand new as the apartment listing said. And he knew it wasn’t a lie because he could smell the fresh, factory smell of the brand-new mattress. In fact, all the beds in the rooms had new mattresses, now that he could smell it in the air.
There was a dresser against the other wall and a small closet. He didn’t have much to fill both up. In the other corner was a small work desk for homework. He began to unpack his books from his duffle bag and stacked them neatly on the desk. He ran his fingers over one of the titles in braille: Criminal Law & Procedure.
The second year of law school is allegedly easier than the first. At least, this second year comes with more freedom, such as the option to live off campus rather than in one of the small dorms. At least his first year he got to meet his best friend: Foggy Nelson.
Which, speaking of, he was bounding up the steps already with three bags he could barely carry by himself.
“Matt!” He heard his friend shout from the steps, “Hey, Matt! You here yet?”
Matt met Foggy at the top of the stairs and laughed—he could hear the struggle in his friend’s voice.
“Why don’t you stop laughin’ at me and grab a bag?!”
After what felt like hours of going up and down the steps helping Foggy with his bags, and carrying a couch up into the living room, followed by a long goodbye from Foggy’s mom, Matt and Foggy plopped themselves on the couch in exhaustion.
“Man,” Foggy groaned, “I didn’t know the apartment was on the top floor. I’m beat.”
“Maybe that’s why it was so cheap,” Matt thought, “no one wants to walk up those stairs.”
“Yeah, no kidding,” Foggy answered. “Welp, guess I gotta pick a room. You don't think whoever we’re rooming with will mind we chose first, right?”
“Nah,” Matt shrugged, “the apartment listing said whoever gets here first picks. I’m sure it’s fine.”
“Alright. Where’s your room? I’ll pick the one next to it.”
“I opted for the one farthest in the back,” Matt said, leaning over as Foggy got up to pick a room. He listened as Foggy shuffled between the rooms and moved his bags into his chosen space.
Matt stayed on the couch, his hearing strayed to the noise that was outside the front windows. Naturally cocking his head, he could hear a local deli closing up for the evening. He could even smell the lingering scent of stale coffee. He heard people closer to Columbia University laughing and getting ready to go out to whatever frat party was going on that night. In the distance, he heard sirens wailing—for what reason, he didn’t know. He didn’t understand the ache that grew in his chest the longer he continued to listen to them.
“Matt?” Foggy called for him, “You good?”
“Yeah,” Matt stammered. “What did you say?”
“I said let’s get dressed and find a local bar to hang at!”
That didn’t take much convincing.
✣✣✣✣
If Matt thought lugging suitcases up the flight of stairs was tough, he wasn’t prepared to walk up the stairs intoxicated.
“Man, that was a terrible idea. Terrible idea you had,” Foggy slurred as he bumped into Matt on the stairs. Matt let out a laugh as he pushed Foggy back.
“My idea? It was your idea, you asshole,” Matt shot back playfully.
“Was it?” Foggy questioned, “Oh yeah, it was. God, how many stairs are there?”
Everything was spinning inside Matt’s head. He looked up behind his dark glasses and sensed the number of steps.
“We have four flights left,” Matt said, pausing at the second floor and leaning against the wall.
“Jesus,” Foggy groaned. “Terrible, terrible idea, Matt.”
After fifteen minutes of an agonizingly drunk walk up the stairs, both Matt and Foggy finally made it to their new temporary home and collapsed on the couch at opposite ends. Matt let his head dip back on the couch while Foggy attempted to lift his legs on a spare moving box in front of him. Matt laughed at his attempts; he didn’t have to see to know his friend was struggling.
“Hopefully our roommates will join us on future bar crawls,” Foggy said aloud.
“Hopefully they don’t suck.”
“That too,” Foggy agreed. “I think—I think I’m going to call it a night, Matt. I’ll…I’ll talk to you…” and just like that, Foggy Nelson was snoring on the couch with his legs half-propped on a box. Matt forced himself to get up and move to his bed, not before putting a blanket over Foggy and turning the lights off.
When Matt reached his room, his equilibrium was still making things seem spinning. He stumbled over his suitcase and duffle bag and caught himself on his bed, where he landed on his back. He threw his dark glasses on his desk and shut his eyes, using all his might to avoid listening to the sounds that lay outside the window. Putting himself in the back room was a good idea because it was much easier to ignore what he heard—more importantly, ignore how it made him feel. The liquor in him only swirled those feelings away.
Matt turned on his side and reached for the Bible he kept under his pillow. He ran his fingers over the braille until he found a particular prayer he was looking for:
“Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen. Because of it the ancients were well attested. By faith we understand that the universe was ordered by the word of God, so that what is visible came into being through the invisible.” Hebrews 11:1-3.
Matt rested the Bible on his chest, mind drifting to things of his past, things he only kept hidden and locked away until he was completely alone with himself like he was now. It was heavy. Not the suitcase, not the way his legs felt walking up the steps inebriated, but the weight of the past, creeping up on him when he was alone.
He fell heavily into a deep sleep.
✣✣✣✣
Morning came, and so did his hangover.
Matt was awakened by a knock on his door. Not his door, but the front door. A knock he would not have heard if not for his heightened senses. Throwing his dark glasses on, he rolled out of bed and walked into the living room. On the couch, Foggy still lay asleep, snoring. Matt’s head was pounding and his feet felt like cement as he stalked to the door, the knocking growing more erratic.
When he opened the door, he was met with an overwhelming waft of sweet beery perfume and bubblegum. The person who stood in front of him—a young woman, he sensed—popped a bubble and clicked the gum inside her mouth.
“Oh,” a squeaky voice said. “Are you a roomie?”
“Uh…“
“I’m Marci,” the young woman introduced herself. She held out her hand, but Matt made no move to shake it.
“I’m—I’m Matt,” Matt said. He could sense the young woman’s candor by the way she pulled her hand back immediately and placed it on her hip.
“Are you blind or are you hungover?” She clicked her gum again, taking note he was wearing dark glasses inside.
Matt’s mouth twitched upwards. He wasn’t offended by her bluntness, only amused.
“Both,” he simply said.
“Hm,” she said, “well, I’m your new roomie.” she peered inside to see Foggy sleeping on the couch. “I’ll need help with my suitcases.”
And yet again, Matt was subjected to the torture of helping people bring their suitcases up the long flight of stairs. But if this was someone he was going to be living with for the next year, he thought it better to make friends and help than make enemies and refuse. Even if she was a little brash.
“Matt?” Foggy groggily opened his eyes to the movement of boxes being lugged around. “Jesus!” Foggy said in the startling realization that Matt was no longer the only one he shared a space with. When he saw the beautiful blonde with her arms crossed and a look of judgment on her face, Foggy thought he might’ve woken up to an angel.
“I’m Marci Stahl,” she popped her gum again. “Are you going to help bring my stuff up?”
“Absolutely,” Foggy stumbled to his feet, ignoring the spins he felt. Matt suppressed a chuckle as he placed the final box (he decided it was the final box for him now that Foggy was awake) on the ground. Now, it was up to Foggy.
Well, Foggy couldn’t completely help Marci yet before making a trip to the bathroom and yakking up the previous night’s regrets. Marci waited in the hall with her arms crossed. When Foggy met her outside again, he smiled awkwardly as Marci told him where her remaining boxes were. She had her mother waiting outside as well, who couldn’t be bothered to help bring up boxes.
Matt took this as an opportunity to lock himself in his room and boot up his Orbit Reader to learn of his new schedule, starting Monday. He scrolled to find his classes and their descriptions, and what books he would need for class. With one earplug in, he listened as it read it to him. But not even the Orbit could help drown out Foggy’s attempts at flirting with Marci.
✣✣✣✣
“You’re not so bad, aren’t you?” Marci asked with suspicious eyes at Foggy. Foggy offered a hearty laugh and sat down on a pink velvet love cushion that belonged to Marci. She took a seat at the end of the couch, closest to Foggy.
“What do you mean?” Foggy shrugged his shoulders, a goofy grin on his face. His long blonde hair peeked out under his green beanie. He had a terrible goatee, but for some reason, made him all the more endearing.
“Well, we’re all going to be living together this year. Glad the co-ed space I chose has someone willing to carry all my boxes up the steps without complaint. And you’re not an asshole,” Marci rested her elbow on the arm of the couch, studying Foggy carefully.
“What can I say? I’m pretty charming,” Foggy smiled.
“I wouldn’t go that far,” Marci smirked.
Matt sat at his desk laughing to himself as he listened to their conversation.
“What are you studying? You’re a grad student?” Foggy asked, ignoring her retort.
Marci looked at him like it was an obvious question. “I’m in the law school.”
“Really?! No way!” Foggy exclaimed. “That’s what we’re here for, too. 2L?”
“Of course,” Marci said. “I wouldn’t be here if it were my first year.”
“Hey, maybe it was your third. I don’t know. What kind of law do you want to do?”
“IP, corporate, civil rights,” Marci shrugged. “I don’t know. I’ll let it find me.”
“Badass,” Foggy nodded his head in amusement. Marci chuckled and rolled her eyes.
“What’s up with your friend in there? Why hasn’t he joined us?”
“You’re right,” Foggy agreed. “Matt! Get your ass outta there and come bond with your roommates!”
Matt sighed and leaned back in his uncomfortable wooden chair. It was only a matter of time before he was summoned to socialize. He shut down his Orbit Reader and joined them in the living room, reaching in front of him to find the other end of the couch.
“Well, I’m here,” Matt simply said with a small smile. He wasn’t really sure what to say.
“You’re the moody one, aren’t you?” Marci said with slight amusement, resting her chin in her hand. Matt chuckled.
“I wouldn’t say moody,” Matt scratched the back of his neck. “Uhh. Maybe I would, actually.”
“Every friendship duo has to have one. Clearly, your friend Foggy here is the opposite,” Marci teased. “My friend is like you, too. Quite type. Locks herself in her room. She should be here soon,” Marci thought aloud.
Matt quirked an eyebrow in curiosity, “Is she our fourth roommate?”
“Sure is. Let me call her real quick.” Marci got up and into her chosen room, the one in the front with the largest windows.
Now that it was just Foggy and Matt, Foggy immediately bounded over to sit next to Matt on the couch and squeezed his arm.
“Dude, did we get lucky or what?!” Foggy shout whispered. “Rooming with two chicks?!”
Matt pushed his friend away with a laugh, “Foggy, don’t be like that, that’s gross. We’re supposed to be roommates.”
Foggy held his hands up in defense, “I’m just sayin’ man, let things run their course. Oh man, she’s beautiful. Blonde, has sharp features and—“
“Shh,” Matt hushed his friend. “She just got off the phone.”
“She’ll be here in ten minutes,” Marci announced as she walked back into the living. She paused as she noticed how close Matt and Foggy were sitting. “What were you guys talking about?”
“Nothing,” they said in unison, feigning innocence.
✣✣✣✣
While Foggy and Marci were exchanging life stories and their experiences studying to get into law school, Matt let his senses drift to focus on what else was going on in the building. He didn't want to engage in conversation, especially if the topic was backstories. He wasn’t ashamed of his upbringing at all, nor was he ashamed of where he grew up after his dad died, but he couldn’t deal with the reactions or sympathy his story inevitably brought out of people. He just didn’t feel like dealing with it with Marci, especially given how well her and Foggy’s conversation was already going. What did he have to add to it other than a tragic accident?
A cool draft floated through the stairs, finding its way in any open creak or door in the building. Some of their downstairs neighbors were still moving in. In another room, someone was twisting a bottle of white wine open. Another attempted to hang a picture frame. Matt could hear the banging of the hammer on the second floor, the vibrations against the wall. He had to hide his grimace when he heard a chair squeak on the hardwood floor.
Despite these sounds that no one else could hear, Matt had high hopes for the near future. He imagined late-night studying and sleeping in on weekends. He imagined sneaking into frat parties with Foggy and ending the night at local dive bars.
When he heard the front door open, something shifted in the entire building. Something that caused Matt to move forward on the couch ever so slightly to hear better. The cold draft was replaced by a warmth in the air, followed by the ever-so-faint scent of lavender. Accompanied by the smell was an equally faint heartbeat. This person wasn’t nervous, they were content. He heard them sigh, and at this sound, Matt confirmed he was listening to a young woman. She too had a shoulder bag and suitcase she was lugging around, nothing else. No boxes filled with decorations or other extra things. No family dropped her off.
Just her.
She walked up the steps, one by one, and Matt could hear the pauses she took from the amount of stairs. His mouth twitched into a smile, fascinated that she was equally surpassed by the amount of stairs. It was clear that she was their fourth roommate, and it was confirmed when Matt heard her dial a number in her phone and Marci’s began to vibrate.
“Are you here?” Marci asked through the phone immediately.
“Yeah,” her friend breathed, “but I didn’t realize how many stairs there were! I’ll be up in five minutes if I’m lucky.”
“Do you need help with your bags? We luckily have two strong, burly men to do any heavy lifting we need,” Marci winked at Foggy.
“No, I’m okay. I just have two bags. I’ll be right up.”
Marci squealed when she hung up the phone. “She’s here! Let me get the door for her.”
As Marci walked over to open the front door, both Matt and Foggy stood up from their seats and awaited their fourth roommate’s arrival. Foggy waited like an excited puppy as he watched Marci lean in the doorway for her friend. Matt stood awkwardly, terrible at first encounters. He kept his hands in his pockets and tilted his head low, feeling more comfortable behind his dark glasses and chocolate brown hair that fell right over his eyes. The scent of lavender grew stronger the closer she made it to the apartment.
And when she walked in, no longer did Matt hear the creak in the wood, the downstairs neighbors’ chatter, the outside city noises. No longer did he feel the cool draft from outside, or his own nervous heart beating in his chest. All of his senses, and all of his focus, were on her. The one other roommate who showed up alone, with no family, with nothing but two bags, and possibly an equally lonely heart.

Always been like this (Agatha x F!Reader)
Tumblr media
For: @tryingmybest233333 hope you like it!
Wanda jumped, barely saving the cake she had in her hands thanks to her magic. She quickly placed it on the counter and forced a smile as she watched Agnes storm into her kitchen. She doubted the brunette hadn't seen the red threads that came from her hands, but whatever it was that had her annoyed distracted her enough not to mention it.
-----------------------
"That bitch!"
"What happened?" the redhead asked carefully "is it Y/N again?"
“When is it not Y/N, Wanda?” Agnes rolled her eyes.
The younger woman felt a little awkward for asking, but she kept her smile on her face as she allowed her friend to raid her wine rack. She really didn't know how it had started, or why.
Everything in Westview was supposed to be perfect, so that she and Vision could live their lives happily with each other without worrying about a thing. Sure, she had put Dottie there, but it was simply for the occasional drama she watched on old shows when she was a kid.
However, she did not remember this. A feud between neighbors, sure, in some episode perhaps, but a damn pitched war that devastated everything? Where had that come from?! Wanda had no idea.
The only thing she knew was that for some reason, you and Agnes hated each other's guts. You couldn't see each other on the street without starting to hurl insults that you barely disguised as flirting (but everyone could hear the venom in your voice), it was normal for indecently rude gestures to be thrown at each other, and even sabotage at each other in Dottie's meetings if you had the chance.
It was common knowledge that having you in the same room with Agnes for more than two seconds was an imminent catastrophe, and over time, they had all learned to leave you alone and try not to get caught in the crossfire between you two. But no one had been able to tell Wanda why you hated each other so much.
"It's always been like this" Geraldine had told her, shrugging as Agnes shot you annoyed glances across the street.
It was as if no one knew, as if you had simply woken up one morning and decided that you hated the brunette with everything in you and she had agreed to return the favor. Something had to give in. Even if it was for the sake of her cupboard.
“Agnes” she began cautiously as her friend poured her second glass “why do you hate Y/N so much?”
"Hey! She hates ME, so I hate her back" the brunette defended herself
"But why does she hate you?"
"And what do I know?" Agnes shrugged "probably because I'm prettier and she's jealous."
Wanda laughed, deciding it wasn't worth arguing with her friend, especially when it came to the other's ego and vanity, but something in her mind was bothering her. What if she was losing control? What if she had kept this fake reality for so long that its was strating to become real? What if people were gaining freedom? She wasn't going to get a straight answer from Agnes, so she would have to go to you to try to figure this out.
_________________________
"Oh, hello Wanda!" you smiled sweetly as the redhead walked towards you "how are you?"
"Fine, thank you, Y/N" she replied "I don't want to bother you, but, there is something I would like to ask you."
"Sure! I'll do what I can to help you" you assured her.
Wanda smiled gratefully at you, and the doubt in her mind simply grew. She, like everyone in town, knew you for being incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to offer good advice, a helping hand, or comfort to anyone who needed it. For her, it was almost impossible to imagine you hating someone. And yet, your smile turned into an annoyed grimace and you rolled your eyes when she mentioned her friend.
"It's about Agnes" she said softly.
"What did that hateful woman do now?" you asked with annoyance
"N-nothing…I think" she responded quickly "it's just…I just want to know why you seem to hate her so much"
You looked at the redhead in front of you carefully. She looked as firm and confident as ever, but in her eyes you could see that she was actually upset, almost desperate. You assumed that your fights with Agnes were disrupting her happy married life, especially since you were aware of the brunette breaking into her house to complain about you whenever she could.
"I don't hate her" you said, deciding that you could be a little compassionate toward her "I just resent her presence."
"That…isn't that the same as hating her?"
"No" you replied "I mean, I don't wish her harm or want her to die, that would be hating her, but I don't want her around me. That damn woman is capricious and spoiled and somehow she always gets what she wants. It's annoying."
"I know Agnes can be… difficult" Wanda conceded to you "but she's a good person, maybe you guys just need to get to know each other better"
"oh believe me" you laughed softly "I know her very well, better than anyone"
You winked and smiled before turning around and continuing on your way as if nothing had happened, leaving the redhead with more questions than answers and, if the suddenly cold air around you was any indicator, even greater desperation.
______________________________
"You're a bitch"
"You love me for that"
Agatha laughed heartily as she watched you pace around the kitchen, throwing ingredients into the pan as you smiled at her over your shoulder. Ever since you guys came to Westview to steal the chaos magic, the witch had to admit that your plan to have fun in the process made every day solving Wanda's problems worth it.
"How long do you think it will take for her to break?"
"I don't know, she seemed pretty lost this afternoon" you shrugged "although that might be because you're running out of her wine supply" you smirked.
"I have to charge something for all the help I give her" Agatha joked.
“I’m sure” you laughed.
The brunette looked at you in silence for a while longer, waiting until you finished making dinner and turned off the stove before walking over to you and hugging you from behind. She placed a soft kiss on your neck as you leaned against her and you could feel the smile growing on her face.
"So I'm a bloody capricious and spoiled woman, huh darling?" she whispered
"You know well that you are the most capricious and spoiled being in the world, Aggs" you laughed.
"And you are the rudest, most terrible person" she pouted "you fight with me when all I do is love you. But I shouldn't be surprised, it's always been like this"
"It's called marriage, honey" you smiled

(i'm also reading/have read your wip's and finished fics and i love ALL OF THEM V MUCH just so you know that!! anyway, i hope you're doing good! have a great start to the week mwah 💕✨️)
addi hi you’re are so very sweet!! i’m sending you all my hugs and i hope you’ll feel better soon 💜
here are some of my favourite idiots/friends to lovers good omens fics:
Something We Were Withholding Made Us Weak by triedunture (M, 17k) "Yes, exactly. Retire." Aziraphale reaches for the last remaining tartlet brimming with summer berries. "Somewhere along the south coast, perhaps." Or: Crowley and Aziraphale learn to move in tandem.
You are HoMe (Half of Me) by angelsnuffbox (T, 28k) Aziraphale had gotten dumped, plain and simple. But that small detail wasn’t nearly as important as all the things that happened after he’d gotten dumped - such as coming to a few realisations about his best friend of sixteen years.
Hope Is The Thing With Feathers by Gefionne (M, 28k) Because they can’t see each other more than once every few decades, Aziraphale suggests that he and Crowley write to each other to pass the time apart. As quills for their letters, they exchange wing feathers: a gesture of great intimacy that Crowley is convinced only he perceives the depth of. But time will tell that it’s not just him who sees it that way.
32 Questions That Lead To Love by ffonippop (E, 32k)
”First formulated in 1997, [32] questions to fall in love is a study by psychologist Dr. Arthur Aron which took place at Stony Brook University, New York. The aim? Speeding up the creation of intimacy between two strangers.” The Cosmopolitan
Okay, fine.
Crowley was 32-Questions-That-Lead-To-Love-ing Aziraphale. Sue him.
He had no expectations, all right? Just, an innocent curiosity.
Between Comfort And Chaos by anathxmadevice (T, 45k) “And how long have you two been a couple?” “Oh, I—” Aziraphale panics. “Ha, well, that’s a funny… We’re not actually—” “We’re just friends.” Crowley says, their voice clear and calm and lightly amused, either because of or in spite of Aziraphale’s flailing attempts to divert the conversation. “Ah, yes, quite.” Aziraphale says, then takes a sip of his drink just for something to do, instead of focussing on the way Crowley said just friends, and how it causes a painful throb in his chest that he has never fully got used to. His memory can only scrabble at the edge of a time where being just friends with Crowley didn’t feel like a particular form of torture. Or, Aziraphale has been desperately in love with his best friend and housemate Crowley since they were students, but is too scared to do anything about it.
Won't You be My Neighbor? by Spiro, ProblematicPitch (T, 52k) When Mr. A. Z. Fell moves to the quiet English village of Tadfield, he expects nosy neighbors and inquiries into his eccentric, solitary life. What he doesn't anticipate is Anthony J. Crowley, the surly nuisance / next-door-neighbor, who might very well need a friend as much as he does.
Good Endings by WyvernQuill (T, 56k) A Narrative of Certain Events following the Ending of the World (Except Not Quite), as vaguely hinted at in The Slapdash and Not Very Helpful Prophetic Tidbit of Agnes Nutter, Witch (And Matchmaker.)   "Their lives are in horrible, terrible danger that only we can save them from!" Anathema held up the Prophetic Tidbit. "It says so. Right here." Madame Tracy peered at the page. Raised a meaningful eyebrow. "Dearie, as a woman of, well, considerable experience, I really don't think that's what 'the lyttle Deathe' means in this context…" "Huh." Anathema squinted. Flipped the page. Read another bit. "….huh."   (Or, alternatively: Eight - give or take - matchmakers trying really, really hard, honest; two clueless ethereal/occult beings mutually pining their endless days away; and one witch, who can't leave well enough alone when it comes to matters of the heart, no matter how many centuries ago she died.)
Barriers, and the Breaking Thereof by Cardinal_Daughter (M, 71k) Ezra Fell has long been comfortable in his loneliness. He’s content to simply run the Soho Public Library and otherwise keep to himself. However, when a handsome stranger bursts in one evening with a baby, frantic and in need of help, Ezra finds those carefully constructed barriers he’s long maintained begin to crack. Perhaps it’s time to let them fall. Human AU. Complete.
Put Out The Fire by Aleakim (T, 133k) Aziraphale finds himself in a very awkward position as some sort of spell makes everyone merely glancing in his direction instantly fall deeply and desperately in love with him. Absolutely everyone. Well, apart from Crowley, that is. And while both angel and demon search for a solution to this fairly unique problem, Crowley can’t help wondering whether Aziraphale might finally figure out some things he kept hidden for so very long. [you can request more fic recs here]
