Wayne Family and Galas Headcanon

I actually have an opinion that not all of the Waynes totally abhor galas like they are usually depicted as in fanon. Here are some of my thoughts on who does and does not like Rich People PartiesTM:

Bruce: Usually hates them, but likes that he can use his “Brucie” persona to fuck with people he doesn’t like and embarrass his kids.

Dick: Loves them. He gets to dress up all fancy and watch a bunch of other fancily dressed people. Rich people are total freaks, and getting to listen to the wacky shit that comes out of their mouths is better than any sitcom. It’s almost as good as a circus.

Jason: Hates them. Everybody there can go eat rocks as far as he is concerned. The only good parts are when he inevitably causes a scene by absolutely bodying some smug, rich, racist bastard for making a rude comment against him or his siblings and he is forcibly removed by security. This happens at every single function. Jason is not sure why Bruce keeps forcing him to attend. The Wayne family lawyers and PR team are tired. Also, the food is served in ridiculously small portions and that fucking sucks.

Cass: Like them for similar reasons to Dick. She loves getting dressed up - it makes her feel like one of the princesses in the animated movies that Dick loves so much. Her favorite part is getting to dance with her family. She especially loves that Bruce always makes sure to put away his Brucie persona to do a Father-Daughter dance with her. She also always wears a pair of beautiful pearl earrings that Bruce gave her when he adopted her. They were once a part of his mother’s favorite necklace (you know the one).

Tim: Doesn’t care for them, but usually doesn’t despise them like some of his siblings. They were a pretty routine part of his childhood, so he is fairly desensitized to the glitz and glam. He is a pro at dealing with insufferable socialites and tends to be on damage control for his siblings.

Duke: At first the idea of attending rich people parties caused him a lot of anxiety, but after his first one, he came to love them much like Dick. Rich people are so fucking strange. It’s like getting to go to the zoo but the animals are trying to share their opinion on social reform with you. Absolutely bonkers. 10/10 entertainment.

Damian: Would rather have to fight Condiment King. There are too many people patronizing him. There are too many opportunities for enemies to hide in plain sight and strike when he and his family are defenseless. There are too many smells and lights and his clothes itch and his father insists on humiliating himself and besmirching their family’s name. The only good part of the night is when Todd inevitably beats the snot out of some imbecile and is dragged off like the hooligan he is.

Stephanie: Has a lot of fun with them. She is not Bruce’s kid, but sometimes tags along as one of his kids plus one (Tim or Cass, take your pick. I am partial to StephCass because gay, but it really doesn’t matter). She and Cass have an epic shopping spree before each event getting new shoes and clothes. The day of, they pamper themselves with hair, makeup, and nail appointments at exclusive spas. They spend way too much time taking pictures of themselves and each other to post to social media. It’s like prom, but even better because she is no longer an awkward teenager. She loves people-watching with Dick and Duke and dances the night away with Cass.

Batfamily (and other) Headcanons that will be canon in my DC timeline:

-Dick is Pansexual. Show me this man in romantic relationships with more than just woman. I also feel like he has potential to be a sex positive icon which I feel is important. Sex portrayed as something that can be fun and casual, not explicitly reserved for romantic partners and situations.

(edited to rephrase and remove offensive language towards the pan community)

-Jason is Asexual. Get some ace representation but also give him some healthy romantic relationships where sex is not the center or a necessity. (I’m partial to Jason/Roy but to each their own)

-Jon Kent is dyslexic. Insert Percy Jackson reference about his brain being wired for kryptonian, but no, the dyslexia comes from Lois.

-Jason was absolutely theater kid before his death who managed to get the lead role almost every time, and somehow maintained a healthy schedule of theater rehearsals, good grades, and patrols.

-building off of the last one, Jason is Bruce’s favorite allowing him to get away with pretty much anything, but no one notices this because Jason is convinced Bruce hates him, and everyone else (understandably) believes Cass is the favorite.

-Cass took up gardening after watching Alfred tend to the rose bushes out front, and is now responsible for the very impressive garden on the Wayne Estate. She loves being to create and nurture life instead of kill, like the was born and raised to. Jason also taught her the language of flowers and she has little flowerbeds for each member of the family. Only Jason knows what they mean (also Alfred but he knows everything)

-Tim isn’t a caffeine addict, but he does have severe insomnia and ADHD. Because of that, caffeine typically has the opposite effect on him, hence why he always seems to be drinking a cup. Either for the placebo effect to stay up and finish a case, or to make him tired enough to fall asleep.

-Damian struggles to connect with people and express gratitude, appreciation, and love. He asked Cass about her garden one day and very intently sat and listened while she taught him about the language of flowers. Each family member woke up the next morning to a drawing of a bouquet of flowers pinned to the door with a knife (Jason has his framed in a safehouse he is fairly sure none of his family knows about)

-The batcave has a secret vault of “bad ideas” which was started by Dick as a child with the original Robin suit Bruce designed (it had pants) along with videos of Dick wearing said costume and falling off of gymnastics bars. (Think of the video explaining why strippers don’t wear clothes with the person falling off the pole over and over)

-Bruce is autistic. He gives off tism vibes (you’re trying to tell me that a man who dresses up as a bat and fights crime as a trauma response to watching his parents be murdered in front of him is neurotypical?) and I also want to see more a positive autism representation in main characters in media.

-Dick’s use of made up words such as “aster” and “whelmed” come from the fact that he spoke very little English when he was first adopted by Bruce, and decided that using obviously made up words made his slip ups less noticeable, or people would assume he did it on purpose. Even after he mastered English, he continued using his made up words because they just made sense (the batcomputer and jl database have a hidden file called the “DICKtionary” unlinking all his words and their meanings)

-Jason can’t drive. He died when he was 15 (you have to be 16 in Jersey to get your permit), was revived in Nanda Parbat so there was no need to drive, and was too embarrassed to mention it by the time he returned to Gotham and the Batfamily. This is his deepest, darkest, secret.

-As a child, Dick was convinced Batman was a vampire (and still isn’t entirely convinced otherwise)

-Tim collects little trinkets. Dick noticed this early on, and made sure to get a little souvenir trinket for Tim every time he went on a trip. Bruce noticed and started doing the same thing, and so did his friends after a while. Tim proudly displays his collection, because to him, each trinket is a reminder that people are thinking about him and care about him. (Most of his possessions in Drake Manor were necessities like clothes, or things he had bought for himself. Barely anything was a gift)

-Jason has OCPD, and needs things to be an exact certain way, and struggles when they aren’t. It’s one of the biggest reasons why he is often so frustrated with Bruce, who tends to do things in a different, certain way.

-Cass is actually the most neurotypical in the family, though because she has learned how to be a person through observing, she has picked up on many neurodivergent traits, specifically stimming.

-Steph’s aesthetic is retro pastel pop, mixed with maximalism. She loves bright colors and loud designs (though purple is still her favorite by far)

-Alfred keeps guns stashed all over the house in case of emergencies. Bruce hates this and has tried to remove them, but has given up as he can never seem to find them all. Alfred also brought up the good point of “I am not a vigilante like you, Master Bruce, and I am not quite as young as I used to be. If there is ever an invasion of the manor, I would quite enjoy the security of being able to protect myself.”

-There is a list of who is banned from the kitchen. Bruce is at the top of the list, Tim isn’t allowed to make anything more complex than instant food, Cass and Damian aren’t very good, but at least make an effort to learn so are therefore allowed with supervision. Dick has a partial ban. He is an absolute disaster in the kitchen, except for soups, and sarma (his mother’s recipe was one of the few things he brought with him from the circus and was obsessed with perfecting it as a kid, leading it to be one of the only things he can actually make) Steph isn’t allowed to cook, but she is a proficient baker. Duke isn’t a horrible cook, but mainly avoids the kitchen, preferring to stay out of Alfred’s way. Jason is the only batfamily member who is not banned from the kitchen under any circumstances. He has a tendency to stress cook, and likes trying new fancy recipes, because on the streets he only ate what he could find. This gives him a sense of control.

-Superman wasn’t a great dad to Connor at first, opting to send him to the farm to stay with Ma and Pa, but after a stern talking to from Bruce, came around started making an effort. Connor is an excellent big brother to Jon.

I don't give two shits if Bruce is written like a bad dad if it means we get good writing for everybody else since i think minorities are more important than a white cishet male nepotism baby unlike his butch lesbian counterpart who's judaism is an actual fundamental part of her character and since he's been written as abusive so consistently over the years it's in-character anyway

Dick can be both bi/pan and demisexual and there's more evidence for the latter than the former so making him be sexually loose is aspec erasure and mspec stereotyping and he dosen't have a thing for redheads,he has a thing for black women and to me the only guy he seems to like romantically is Roy and that adds on to his demisexuality since they're childhood best friends

'Catholic guilt Jason' is a shit headcanon that misses the major and critical part of him being Red Hood that he didn't feel the slightest bit bad about killing people and the point of his redemption was learning remorse,afrolatino Jason isn't based on stereotyping but him filling out so many black and latino cultural aspects and if any hcs for him are stereotyping it's the one that he's a slut because he's a very handsome and hot and cute goth punk man

Tim is perfect the way he is and dosen't need power ups or to get 'punished' for the oh so horrible crime of being a realistic teenage boy,he's not JUST huge a loser or a super cool dude but both at once and it's bad writing and fetishistic to ignore his wide range of relathionships that consists of mostly of women to make him a 'guys guy'

Stephanie is heavily autistic and bpd-coded so she's far from a 'normie',much less an 'it girl' but people see blonde hair and blue eyes and throw away everything else about her because that's all she's worth to them or call her an abuser and a pick me just like they do irl bpdtistic women and she's also canonically pastel/indie punk and a Team Mom but gets her presentation switched to basic and made out to be a womanchild instead

Cass had a million times more moral conflict than Jason ever did,would never in her LIFE wanna be feminine even in the chinese way and would be butch in it instead,turning her scattered speech into sign language is ableist not unlike(but not on the same level as)changing Babs' type of wheelchair disability and she'd be a better Batman than any male character in existense

Duke is only a golden child in the sense he has a yellow motif and is as disruptive and authentically quirky as his siblings,We Are Robin is a better team than the canon Outlaws,his powers are cooler than any Al-Ghul ones you could come up with,he has more femme energy than Tim does and Carrie Kelley ain't shit and only gets brought back to replace him because DC is antiblack

Damian's introduction mentality was a result of not only child abuse but also psychological grooming to get him to dehumanize himself and all his bigoted comments are explained either by him being like 12 or his writers trying to demonize brown people and anybody who thinks he's a bad person is a super-sized pissbaby with no sympathy for kids of color,shipping him with Jon is making a bisexual man into a ped0phile and Jay is good even if aging Jon up wasn't and he should be friends with Maya,Suren,Nell,Colin,Kathy,Maps,Tai and Miles,Gwen,Peni,Pavitr,Hobie and Margo from Atsv and Nico and Hazel from Pjo instead of Billy Batson or Danny Fenton or ANY Mcu characters

Talia is super hot but should be drawn in accurate arab clothes instead 'sexy assasian gear'(not that these two can't co-exist but you get what i mean),her personality is extremely rich and her stories are mega interesting,she's a good mom to Damian and literally never 'took advantage of Jason' seeing as That Scene In Lost Days was decanonized by it's writer who said it was ooc for her on his part,she should've been a mom figure to Stephanie in her Robin Days too since they would get along and she deserved her own run where she takes over Lexcorp to transform it into a force for good and become Superfam-adjacent to free herself from having only male connections

One thing I will always and forever enjoy about the jondami ship by itself is the fact they are very angel x goblin coded.

Here me out

Jonathan is an angel and for the sake of everything we are gonna say biblically accurate. Cause he's sunshine wrapped up in puppy looks and baggy clothes and he looks for the good in people but with one look he could turn you to salt. Like literally could deliver divine punishment if need be. Which I think is interesting cause you got to learn to be gentle but also when to stand up and be rough. So like an accurate angel of sorts.

Then we have Damian and I know everyone is obsessed with him being a demon and stuff like that but like...after seeing the comics and reading some of the things he's said or done he's really not. He's just an autistic goblin.

Like he has no idea what human interactions are hardly and how to be normal about them so he just kinda stands there but the more you get to know him and the more comfortable he gets he just gets...weirder.

Like I can imagine him talking about animals for hours and talking about different characters from video games and backstories and drawing them out and Jonathan just stares at him like like a frog until he's done because he doesn't want him to stop. Plus Damian can have non verble moments so the moments he does speak are very special to him. Then the flexible points were he scuttles around on all fours to look for a pencil because he knows it freaks Jon out or the fact when they go outside he gets distracted by different plants he could eat (becuase hes vegan and knows a lot about plants) and even keeps special rocks in a secret drawer that he shows grayson and Alfred. Not to mention the collecting of special things like animals and swords.

So like a divine angel x a goblin really and I think it's a sweet deal honestly.

usual disclaimer these are based on her musical self and are mostly from a list i made like three years ago anyway yeeha

-literally my first bullet point in her characterization list is just “autistic”

-she’s the kind of person who’s like “at 1:47 pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2022 you said this in these exact words” and also like “i have not eaten or peed in seven hours” at the same time (idk if may 7 2022 was a tuesday i just made smth up lol)

-she has the kälteen bars on her at all times bc she forgets meals so often but she also constantly reminds her friends to take their meds and stuff when they forget

-she’s not actually a savant in math, she just likes rules

-for much the same reason she’s also a polyglot

-she studies languages from books and the people she grew up exposed to and is at least bordering on fluent in seven languages

-she was mute until she was six

-because of this she knows asl

-she uses it whenever she has nonverbal times and teachers her friends basics and like how to fingerspell and stuff so they can use it too

-she can speak backwards because she got bored learning how to read and taught herself to do it both ways. she can flip any word or phrase around in her head

-she’s really good at impressions bc she copycats to learn most of how to socialize and stuff so she’s very quick to pick up intonations and vocal tone and stuff like that

-she’s very sensitive to noise and to touch

-she prefers broadway music (which damian loves) bc they use enough diction to override her auditory processing issues

-she doesn’t like to be touched softly because it’s too tickly and she also just hates being tickled

-but she loves to be snuggled by her loved ones and one of her love languages is touch

-she loves soft clothes (like janis and damian’s jackets) and will steal them if she gets the slightest opportunity

-she loves to stim with her hair which is why it’s so long. and also other people’s and especially janis’ because it’s different colors and very soft

-she also loves when other people play with her hair

-she hyperfixates HARD on the lion king, especially the musical, when janis and damian show it to her and blows all her money on merch and stuff lol

-she’s shockingly organized but her handwriting is terrible

-her friends get her chewy necklaces and stim toys for like every birthday and holiday so she has them all on a rotation to be fair

-she is blunt as all hell and honest to a fault

-she loves when janis paints and draws on her for that good good sensory input

-she goes barefoot whenever she can for also sensory input but she always wears socks inside

-she hates when people whisper and also when people fake crying

-she stims a lot by singing and humming and most of the time she doesn’t notice but (insert preferred partner here) doesn’t mention it bc they love it

-she had daily meltdowns as a plastic bc the texture of the clothes was so overwhelming for her sensorily

-she hates surprises for the most part and is v into her routine

-she has really weird medical knowledge

-she actually prefers to write or sign than speak out loud but she speaks anyway bc it’s faster and everyone can understand that

-she doesn’t easily pick up on sarcasm or figures of speech unless it’s v obvious/intuitive but janis teaches her so she’s got it down within a year of their friendship

-she constantly forgets what things are named and invents new ones. and also is constantly stumbling over her words and inventing new curse words

-she hates english class the most bc there’s so many exceptions to all the rules

-idk if this is an adhd or autism thing lol but she talks in her sleep

-she also can and will sleep anywhere but sometimes she pretends she can’t so she gets cuddles

A idea- Mer au 2

(Just my thoughts and takes!)

Jason has fins that are spikey and he puffs them up whenever he feels in danger or angry but secretly loves having them petted but he would rather die again before admitting it (he likes to personally scare humans by acting like a sea monsters. Also I have no idea on the whole dying part in mer ideas I mean mostly I've seen people make him get kidnapped and stuff in fics so idk...)

Damian is a little boi who ends up gnawing at Bruce and Jason who just lay there as if nothing is happening while Dick panics and try to get Damian off (Damian doesnt bite Tim) he rarely bites Dick because he knows Dicks tail is more sensitive plus he always gets disappointed looks from him.

Damina accidentally bites Tim and in apology he licks at the wound feeling regret for biting him because as said earlier Tim would be a octopus boi!

Dick would be an dragon fish because pointed out by (@autistic-human) totally looks like him and I can see the others complaining about him taking up so much space. (Also a cool mention of Jason being a jellyfish and honestly I can see Dick trying to hug him only for him to get zapped)

I haven't decided what kind of mer Damian would be maybe like a piranha or a shark? (Just thought about him being a sea bunny, lol)

I never thought what type Alfred would be....?

"he has a low win ratio and claims to be the number one blader" BITCH THATS A 15 YR OLD. or like around that age somewhere you get the point. so what if the taco doritos colour palette guy a little confident in himself bitch you hate fun you hate sillyness. people also use him as like a tool to praise kenta? constantly i see takes like "kenta is like masamune if masamune didnt suck" or something as in they both try to rise to the top and get stronger but one of them doesnt talk shit like did you know you can praise a character without putting down the other one motherfucker. another one is "masamune isnt a legendary blader because he talks shit but cant actually back it up" Hey my brother in Allah lets play a little game. which one of the fucking legendary bladers talks big about himself. you have ten seconds. 10...9...8....KING. KING IS RIGHT THERE .

also saw someone say damian shouldve been a legendary blader⁉️⁉️mf that boy was on rearrangement stereoids the effects of that wouldve already worn off by the time of metal fury how does that even WORKK😭😭 he was probably off with 3 big fucking pet dogs to eat custard pudding or sumn idk .Ryūga dickriding has been a thing for for ever but right now for some reason people decided they didnt talk about that guy enough. theres so many videos on him guys there are other characters to talk about i can write a three billion word essay on damian but i dont think i can say anything about ryūga that hasnt been said at this point. also the people who claim hes alive BECAUSE hes alive in the manga is crazy like yall cant see those as two different universes? im not saying wether if i think hes alive or not this isnt about that dont miss the point. i wanted to make text posts about mfb for forever but i was embarrased for god knows why so i just posted my mfb fanart on my main but i cant take it anymore (eatina burger with no honey mustard) must speak this time im afraid

Since you’re in a meta-ing mood, what do you think of the fandom trend to portray Tim Drake as a ‘genius idiot’, basically a supercomputer brain for crime and business, but can’t cross the street or talk to people without injury or insult that is always his fault. Lots of times this ties in with the idea he’s desperate to get Robin back and the other Bats will basically have to have an intervention to get him to ‘grow up’ and move to his own cape. As you can see, I’ve run into a meta bog

I can sum up my opinion on that fandom trend in two words: It's bullshit.

It's part of a modern trend that I hate, the idea that "the smart guy" archetype automatically defaults to a (badly) autistic-coded tech bro with no social skills. It gets slapped onto so many characters it never should have applied to, and Tim is a big one. He's not even that much of a tech guy! He liked technology, sure, but that was supposed to flag him as a nerd in the 90s, not as some exceptional talent in the field. Him using a computer in his investigations more than Bruce was the narrative equivalent of teaching your parents how to use social media.

No, I've said this before and I'll say it again: Tim is and has always been a detective prodigy. Which means that his skill set lies in observation, deduction, sociology and psychology.

Tim gets people, he's good with people, he can empathize with them, analyze them, and manipulate them in equal measure. Anybody who pretends otherwise just flat-out doesn't read comic books, because the evidence is everywhere. To the point I really don't feel like hunting it down right now, because I've done it before, and other people have done it before, heck I've reblogged a fair number of them myself under my meta tag because I'm always happy when somebody recognizes it.

But also, like, people could figure it out if they used some basic common sense: not only do detectives need to be good with people, but so do businessmen. Being able to persuade and/or manipulate people is like 90% of that job, especially when you're the company spokesperson.

It's just... so obviously wrong, but people are lazy, I guess. (Looking at you, Wayne Family Adventures. -_-)

As for the tie-in with Robin, that's the biggest eye-roll of all. Tim isn't "desperate" to get Robin back, he's slipped back into it because Damian, for all his whining and demands, refuses to do the actual job.

Damian doesn't want to be Robin, not really. He doesn't care about its symbolism, he chafes under his father's command, he's too antisocial to fill Robin's role in the community, and he's not even all that attached to Gotham.

What Damian wants is the respect that comes with Robin as a title, the perceived legitimacy it grants as a member of the Bat-family and within the caped community, and the symbolic gesture of making him the squire to his father's knight. All of which speak to an emotional need that a) is not and should not be "the point" of Robin, a role that by this point is bigger than one person, and b) is clearly not being fulfilled by his attempts to be Robin. The role is far more stifling for Damian than it ever was for Tim.

Meanwhile, Tim is right there, still believing with all his heart in Batman's mission and in the importance of Batman and Robin as symbols of hope and justice, just like he always has, and still perfectly content to fulfill that role if no one else is going to step up and do it. So of course he's going to take the mantle back, it's the exact same thing he did the first time Dick said he wouldn't stop being Nightwing. Tim didn't have a good reason to stop being Robin in the first place.

Heck, technically speaking, he never actually stopped being Robin, not really. People forget this, but the Red Robin persona? Is specifically supposed to be a Robin who stayed Robin and NEVER "outgrew" the role. It was originally created for the Kingdom Come take on the Golden Age/Earth-Two Dick Grayson, who never became Nightwing, he just grew up into a Robin who was more like Batman. Red Robin was just a more serious, less cartoony take on the idea.

I've always thought that's part of why it didn't work for Jason; he's somebody who actually did need to outgrow Robin, partially because he was kind of rough fit to begin with and partially because by that point it was already wrapped up in so much trauma for him that it wouldn't have been healthy to cling. But it worked for Tim because, when you get right down to it, he really didn't have a reason to give up Robin at all -- least of all to coddle the ego of a spoiled brat -- and probably would've just told Damian to go fuck himself if his quest to bring Bruce back didn't involve shady shit like breaking into museums and illegally entering protected heritage sites.

Anyway, sorry for the ramble, been a long day at work and I'm tired but TL;DR -- "genius idiot"/coffee gremlin Tim sucks, the real Tim is sweet and empathetic and only as awkward as any other teenage boy, and he should get to be Robin for as long as he damn well pleases.

As for the rest of your ask, yeah, it's hard to trust any media with black characters these days. They all seem to be written by racists who have a massive inferiority complex about their skin color. And the few that escape being written like that end up getting canceled. Yes, I'm still bitter about Netflix canceling Archive 81, why do you ask? XD

But the whole way black characters and stories are being written now is doing so much harm to "black media" as a whole. Even beyond the whiny racism and slavish adherence to far left talking points, its so limiting. These characters can only be one way, and you can only tell one or two stories over and over again. I was hyped for the Blade game too, but realistically how different is it going to be? Are we going to get real Blade? Is Arkane going to make a great game that respects the character and the fans? Or is it going to be Ibram X Kendi in a Blade skinsuit lecturing wypipo about how irredeemably evil they are?

Mar’i had a habit the first few years on Earth of climbing into bed with her dad (or other family members if they were at the manor). Just for that reassurance they were still there

She pours the milk in first for her cereal, it’s a sensory issue

She’s diagnosed autistic. Her teammates (aside from Damian) didn’t know until she was 13.

“Humans confuse me.”

“Because of the alien-ness or the autism, Starshine?”

She is genuinely one of the kindest people you will ever meet. The kind that always smiles at other people, regardless of if she knows them or not

That being said her trust? Hard won, hard lost, but when she’s done, she’s done. She was taught to believe a person’s actions. If they say they love her, but choose to hurt her over and over, they don’t mean it.

She has a pretty consistent dance partner, Jack Rodriguez, a pyrokenetic metahuman. They joke they’re “fire on the stage” to the chagrin of their friends and partners

Mar’i is super close with Jack’s girlfriend, Avery, and boyfriend, Xander. She adores how happy they make her friend.

Donna Troy taught Dick some ways to style her hair, and he always does her bun for dance recital’s

Cass knows Mar’i’s dance teacher, and has taught a few classes herself. For a recital, Cass and Mar’i preformed together and Mar’i couldn’t stop smiling

She always gives Babs, Cass, and Steph mothers Day cards. Because they became mother figures to her when she was little

Jason reads to her a lot and answers all her questions

There is a very big difference between “Mar’i” and “Princess Mar’i of Tamaran”. “Mar’i” hasn’t told Lex Luthor he’s a leech on humanity, who thinks money and intelligence make up for feelings of inadequacy. “Princess Mar’i of Tamaran” has. Just in a more…..subtle way

Omega has a “Too Horny” spray bottle (implemented after Jai and Lian kept making out in the kitchen). Mar’i is the only one they will not spray, because someone did it on accident once and the look on her face broke them a little.

She is baby on Omega. Not just because she’s the youngest. They just know she’s always going to put others first so, at least to them, she is baby.

Damian might be her uncle, but they were also each other’s first friends. Both are very protective of each other.

When Damian died, Mar’i was inconsolable. She cried in her father’s arms, asking why everyone she loves dies

When Damian was revived after dying, he found her sitting on her balcony. Just sitting together in silence, because that’s all they’ve ever needed.

Mar’i genuinely doesn’t know how she landed such a sweet and loving partner like Jon. She’s sure he could do a million times better than her. Everyone just kinda stares at her like “Boy has been proposing since you two were 16”

More batfam headcanons because I'm bored and I can. You know the drill this will get unnecessary long, and off topic because ADHD! Let's gooooo!

First things first, I saw someone talking about some of the batfam's hyperfixations/info dumping about it, and I want to also talk about that, along with Special interest, I'm just doing the boys for this part of headcanons (don't remember who they are, if you know them tag them so they get credit!!)

Tim's -who is headcanon has Autism and ADHD- Special Interests for me is not only Batman and Robin, but just Superheros/vigilantes in general, technology, Percy Jackson/Greek Mythology (being into Greek Mythology is actually what led him to Percy Jackson/just anything writen by Uncle Rick), photography, D&D (or W&W as it's called in the DCU I believe- always nicely correct me if I'm wrong!), skateboarding, music (headcanon that Tim was in the marching band, what instrument he played is up to you, and he was a theatre kid, knows of and actively listens to over 40 musical, the list keeps growing, if you don't like musicals don't hand him the aux cord), and Star Wars

I'mma say right now Tim's hyperfixations are Queer History, The Owl House (the person I mentioned before said that he, Steph and Alfred watch it together and I love that, especially Alfred watching stuff with them!), and surprisenly both crocheting and knitting, he's already made multiple family numbers things and it currently working on a sweater for Bernard

Info dumping for Tim is hard, because growing up his parents (and multiple therapist) have tried to teach him out of things like info dumping, stimming, ect. Taught it was annoying and bad so he shouldn't do it, he was taught he was better left unheard and unseen. So there are a lot of times were he holds himself back or he starts to info dump but cuts himself off when he notices he's doing it (kinda like Hunter in Owl House)

But once you get him going, he goes, and no one dares to try and stop him (might get murdered by the batfam and Tim's friends if you do). Like with the PJO series becoming a TV series, after some poking and encouragement I can see Tim just going off for actual hours about how excited he is about it, what he wants to see, what he doesn't want to see, how much he LOVES the casting and how he'll personally fist fight anyone who is racist against Annabeth's actress Leah, and more

The last person he did this to was actually Jason after they just finished a case and Jason was making dinner for them two at one of his Safe houses. Jason is listening the whole time, and even asked questions and made comments to encourage Tim to keep going, it was actually very relaxing for him

Next up is actually Jason, in my Neurodivergent batfam post I said that Jason only has Bipolar depressive disorder, but I changed my mind since then, he still had BDD but my man's also has ADHD, was diagnosed a little bit before he died

Anyway, moving on! Jason's Special Interests includes, classic lit, namely Jane Austen's books, plus some of Shakespeare's work, Star Trek (this causes arguments with Tim), plays (was also a theatre kid, just not on the musical end like Tim), motorcycles, guns (how they're made, cleaning them, different types, stuff like that), cooking, and surprising everyone gardening (he has a bunch of plants and helps Alfred out in the garden all the time)

Hyperfixations right now are, Greek Mythology (thanks Tim), Bridgerton, and coding (Babs is teaching him, sometimes Tim)

Info dumping with Jason is a lot easier than with Tim, because Jason never notices that he's info dumping, he'll just be talking, and now Dick knows just about everything about Bridgerton with seeing a single episode and is planning on getting him the books for his birthday. Once Jason realizes he info dumping he normally stops to make sure whoever he's talking to is okay with it and continues happily if they say they are.

Next is Damian (who is Autistic in my headcanon)!

Damian's Special Interest are, swords (the history of them, how their made, the different kinds, and how to use them, ect), art, taking care of animals/animals in general, learning different languages (I mentioned in a headcanon a long time ago that Tim knows A LOT of languages because he wanted to impress his parents (didn't work) but now he teaches Damian these languages and it's one of the ways they bond), different fighting styles, Disney movies, making jewelry (makes it for his friends and family as both a claiming mark (that my person, back off) and I show of affection, not that he'll ever admit it (they know anyway)), and fashion

Current Hyperfixations for the murder baby arrre, detective work (wants to be better at that part of the job), She-Ra because Jon made him watch it and now he's obsessed, psychology (he finds it fascinating how the brain works)

Info dumping for Damian is a lot like Tim, he too was taught that it was better to be unheard and unseen growing up, with Damian it's a little harder to get him started, but he too goes off once he begins, but it usually doesn't last as long as the others (30 minutes at MOST) but that's only because he is just a generally quiet person by choice and doesn't have a whole lot to say. The people he feels most comfortable info dumping on are unsurprisingly Dick and Jon, and very surprisenly Tim, it's Tim because they share a lot of the same (ish) trauma with it comes to being Neurodivergent and he knows that Tim will never push him or make fun of him

Now, last but certainly not least, Dick! (ADHD)

Dick's Special Interest are Acrobatics (duh), also Disney movies, fashion (tho he's terrible at it), baking, love languages (adores the entire thing, love to find people's love languages and show them his love through them), Queer History (that man is not straight (pan in my mind) and feeds happily into Tim's current hyperfixation on it), crafts (any kind, Bruce has so many of Dick's crafts proudly displayed around the manor (along with Tim's photo's, Damian's art, and Jason's old academic awards,he's a proud dad))

Dick's current hyperfixations include the Cars movies (much to everyones pain), the Percy Jackson series (started reading because Tim was forcing him to, but quickly began to love it), and learning to play the violin from Damian

Info dumping is very easy with Dick, if you talk to him for more than 3 minutes there is a 99% chance he'll begin info dumping on you, he is completely aware he is doing it, but grew up know what it was and that is completely okay to do so he doesn't care, and works hard to get his brothers in the same mind set. Him info dumping about Queer History on Tim is actually how it became one of his hyperfixations :)

I have decided that both Damian and Cass are autistic because I'm autistic and I said so. But I'll list reasons ig.

Damian loves swords and animals and is socially awkward and an adorable child (I don't care if he'd kill me for saying this) and I relate to that so now he's autistic. Violin is a stim for him. Playing it and listening to it. (cello is a great auditory stim 😌, violin is a small cello yes?/j)

Cass is noverbal in some comics but not all so I figure it makes sense for her to be nonverbal some of the time, which while I don't often go nonverbal I sometimes do, and I also relate to that. Also I like spinning and being in the air and stuff and what I know about ballet involves this so dancing is one of her stims.

They bond over this and also Damian plays violin while she dances cause I said so.

ok batman disability + neurodivergency + pain headcanons because I SAID SO!!!! not including ptsd because that's a given.

-first of all babs is in her wheelchair and is not batgirl because i will kill you if you make her abled again. (canon)

-cass has a language processing disability! she can speak sometimes but she struggles with how language itself works. (canon)

-bruce is autistic and has difficulty caring for himself and recognizing his needs, as well as chronic pain later on (also has ocd because i have ocd and i mean. look at him.) also he's very good at masking.

-damian is also autistic but he doesnt struggle as much with taking care of himself

-steph uses a cane sometimes because i use a cane and i like steph. she also struggles with fatigue and can't do as much vigilante work as the others. she CAN walk without the cane but it depends on the day and its tiring for her.

-tim has autism and adhd and has a really hard time telling what his body needs and will often only realize he needs to eat/pee/sleep/etc until the very last moment. this is due to the fact that (vine voice) hahah i do that.

-dick sometimes gets shooting pain on the side of his body that he was shot on, and sometimes at night the shoulder he was shot in as robin aches badly. he is also neurodivergent in some way

-jason has adhd, inattentive type. he hyperfocuses on things often and its really hard to get him out of that when he's started. he finds cleaning his guns/weapons to be a soothing task and he often stims by fixing mechanical objects like motorcycles (greasy mechanic jason has my heart okay)

-duke has autism because i saidd sooooo
