Day 4: Time Travel by UseMyMuse
Tumblr media
Day 4: Time Travel
by UseMyMuse (@museywrites)
G, 1k, Wangxian
Summary: Lan Sizhui knows his parents are happy, but he wants to fix things so they never had to suffer. Against his better judgement, he goes back in time, though he isn't sure if things will turn out the way he expected. Kay's comments: Oh, I really liked this short time-travel story! Sizhui travels back in time because he wants Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian to live a happier life, because they deserve only the best. It's got a bit of an open ending that I actually really enjoyed and I loved the subtle changes Sizhui made. Excerpt: He followed his baba silently as he roamed, doing his best to stay out of sight, but eventually, he was caught. He lost sight of Wei Ying and suddenly he was backed against a tree. "Who are you and why do you keep following me?!" Sizhui threw his hands up, "I swear! I mean no harm!" "If you mean no harm, than I expect you to tell me who you are and what you want." "My name is... my name is Lan Sizhui. Birth name... Wen Yuan." "...what?" He looked at him in confusion. With an unsure expression, Sizhui explained everything to Wei Wuxian, unsure if he'd believe him or not.
pov lan sizhui, canon divergence, time travel, time travel fix-it, dimension travel, alternate timelines, everybody lives, wei wuxian leaves the yunmeng jiang sect, lan wangji/wei wuxian get a happy ending, ambiguous/open ending

I never see ‘Sakura as Orochimaru’s apprentice’ in the way I think would be scariest yk. Not in the ‘Sakura is just Sasuke with pink hair now’ or ‘Sakura hates everyone and everyone hated her secretly so she’s taking revenge’ or whatever, but like... canon Sakura. Do you understand how terrifying that would be?
Sakura has been stated within canon to be more observant than Sasuke who has a Sharingan - by Sasuke. She, a civilian without any clan training, has near perfect chakra control. She’s noted to have scores at the top of her class academically, she drugs her own team and friends in order to make sure they don’t get in the may of her mission (to kill Sasuke; yes she doesn’t, but that’s because Kishimoto is too scared to have those two actually fight each other), and is perfectly willing to emotionally manipulate Naruto if she thinks its for his own good (yes, Sai was a dick for blaming Naruto’s pursuit of Sasuke on her and making her feel bad about it, but she was still willing to manipulate a guy who she knows has liked her for years if she thinks he’ll be safer for it. Good intentions, still gaslighting). She’s ruthless, intelligent, and academic. She’s also a canon genius (4-5 in intelligence, matched only by Shikamaru who’s outright stated to be a genius), and notably isolated from her peers both as children (bulled as a kid) and even after (she doesn't seem to have any friends in part 1 other than Ino). Given her parents don’t seem to show up even when she’s literally close to dying in war, they seem either neglectful or that she has a bad enough relationship with them she doesn’t keep in contact with them frequenty.
You literally don’t have to change anything about her. She’s got a perfect personality and social circle (aka none) so that Part 1 Sakura would not only go with Orochimaru, but would probably thrive. Like, Sasuke was with him for a reason, and he got the aesthetic, with the snake summons and all that. But he’s not a scientist, he didn’t get what truly makes Orochimaru terrifying. He got edgier and more depressed. You know who would become utterly terrifying under Orochimaru? Who seems to have that academic curiosity and the ruthlessness that could be nurtured into something much darker if she was caught as an impressionable twelve year old? Who has quite a bit of ability given how, unlike everyone else in this show sans Tenten and Lee, she has no natural power ups at all? Who has an utter lack of guidance given her parents don’t seem too close to her, Tsunade isn’t her mentor till end of Part 1, and Kakashi never bothers actually giving a shit about her? You know who’s been shown to have talent with poisons, who’s made her own jutsu in canon, who could probably still have some of those same skills with the human body, with poisons, only under a teacher who was more focused on the mind, which probably would have suited her part 1 abilities even better than Tsunade?
Sakura Fucking Haruno. And you wouldn’t even have to change much to do it.
And unlike Sasuke, who just became edgier and more murder-y, Sakura would go from a cheerful and preppy twelve year old girl to something much darker. And I for one would be very interested to see how it would have played out.

The Big One
So.
I’ve managed to get myself back into an MCU mindset, and have decided The Time Has Come to start working on my master fix-it fic. Or rather, what’s going to become my master fix-it fic series.
The to-do list so far includes:
-Natasha comes back after Steve returns the Soul Stone, but thanks to time travel screwiness she pops back into the Compound with everyone else and participates in the final battle against Thanos
-Tony still sacrifices himself, BUT! Another version of him, from a timeline where they lost the final fight and Thanos decided to be petty by erasing the entire human race from existence except Tony, gets brought to this universe a couple years later. Supposedly the two are nearly identical up to that fight, so he’s more than a little alarmed when no one recognizes the name Peter Parker
-Steve puts all the Stones back and comes home, passes on the shield to Sam, and moves on with his life instead of that bullshit ending that made no damn sense for his characterization
(-I have yet to watch Falcon and the Winter Soldier, so I dunno what will or won’t remain the same with those two, but I can promise There Will Be Shenanigans)
-WandaVision mostly plays out as per canon, but dagnabit, I want my Scarlet Witch to remain a superhero and a decent person. So! She stumbles across America Chavez, they find a universe where Agatha won and kept Billy and Tommy around as pets/servants, kick her ass, and bring the boys back with them to start a new life
-Eventually Vision will return as well, with newly constructed Viv as a peace offering. The twins are quite taken with their android sister and immediately start figuring out the best ways to get into trouble together
-May Parker receives medical attention soon enough to survive her wounds, albeit in a coma; Peter can’t legally visit her in the hospital but sneaks in a few times as Spider-man, and I promise I’ll eventually have her wake up for their tearful reunion, just gotta get through a few other things first
-Back to Tony: it’s a little awkward, feeling like he’s taking over another man’s life, but Morgan’s delighted by this turn of events and that’s really hard for anyone else to argue with. Even so, as grateful as he is to get his family back, Tony can’t help but feel frantic over what the heck happened to his other kid. The photo of him and Peter is still in the kitchen, and Pepper recognizes it when he shows her, knows that it’s been there ever since they moved into the house, but she has no clue who the kid is
-Eventually we get a big family reunion style event with all the Avengers and spouses and kids, new and old, and from there find a way to bring Peter back into the fold with a handy dandy loophole to restore memories of him at the same time. There will be fluff. There will be tears. There will be old characters and extra ones, a few gratuitous mentions and some background cameos, and I’ll find a way to wrap it all up with a big bow
...
-With an Epilogue, of course, featuring my Champions kids, because they’ve given us a fantastic Kamala Khan and I need to build on that

Do you think Marty McFly ever tries to share an inside joke with his siblings, only to realize that they don't get it? That it was a relic of a childhood his siblings no longer remember? Do you think he regrets it when he realizes that his entire family is basically now strangers to him, with no shared life experiences?
Or do you think his memories of that first past start to fade in time, written over by a childhood he never actually experienced?
How much did Marty seemingly change overnight, to his friends and family? Did they wonder why he changed, how he changed? Talking about things that never happened and places that don't exist? It's always been Lone Pine Mall, Marty, why would you think it was Twin Pines? Clayton Ravine? You don't mean Eastwood Ravine, do you? That's the only ravine in town.
Or do they chalk it up to teenage imagination? He sure takes after his father, that famous sci-fi writer George McFly.
How do you live in a world where you're never quite sure anymore which memory is real? Where everyone you knew is a stranger and you're a stranger to them?

Retired!Spy Timeline Crossover Au
Okay. Consider:
AU where there’s an alternate timeline where Spy ended up settling down with Spy’s mom and just being a dad.
Their Scout (just Jeremy in that world)  ends up being killed by some of spy’s loose ends.
Then, in current time, our cannon Scout gets transported to this world somehow and everything slowly becomes unraveled for him and this retired spy.
Imagine some strange twenty something breaking into your house, insisting he’s never met you but that your wife is his mom and your step sons are his brothers, and realizing this is your dead son from another timeline.
THEN imagine realizing 1. you were an absent father in this timeline, he doesn’t know you’re his dad, but the you he knows he despises and 2. that may be the reason this Jeremy is still alive today. Guilt ensues.
NOW imagine it from Scout’s perspective. You end up back home with yet another pompous french asshole (if you had a nickel for every time you met one of these) married to your mom. Also, your mom doesn’t recognize you.
and THEN imagine it slowly, slowly, dawning on you that you’re in an alternate timeline and this is the same french asshole that’s on your team. Which means that in your world, that spy is probably your freakin’ father. Denial ensues.
----
Overall, wholesomeness (mostly from Retired!Spy and Scout’s Ma), shenanigans (mostly from Scout), and angst (from yours truly) ensue.
Edit: made a blog for it thinking of making a comic

Actual Bayonetta alternate timelines
- universe where Rosa’s sin was never discovered, Cereza was raised as a normal Umbra witch, and the war with the Lumen sages never occurred. Both clans in power to the modern day.
- universe where Cereza was raised by Balder as a Lumen sage (tomboy or transmasc Bayo?), Lumen sages won the first war. Lumen sages are still dominant, but the Umbra witches are also present in the modern day.
- universe where Jeanne never sealed Cereza away, and they’ve been working together through the ages to undermine Balder’s schemes.
- universe where Balder succeeded and Jubileus created a new world (this would require that there are alternate Paradisios and Infernos as well, which only makes sense to me tbh)
- universe where Jeanne beat Cereza in their original duel, took the Umbra throne and the Left Eye of Darkness, and Cereza sealed her in the lake during the Witch Hunts. Jeanne woke up in the modern day with her memories gone, and Cereza brainwashed by the angels etc etc.
- universe where Umbra witches fended off the Witch Hunts and took over the world.
- universe where Jeanne failed to save Bayonetta from Gomorrah (very angsty).
- universe where Bayonetta was defeated while trying to save Jeanne from Inferno (darkest timeline).

The Titan Squad-1
It was a good day in earth realm the birds were singing and the sun was shining but not everyone was having a great day.
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!?"
Lord liu Kang shouted from his monastery he was currently standing in his private office with geras "i regret to inform you Liu Kang but the news of the tragic death of Titan Kung lao, Titan Kitana and Titan Hatsune it happened the night before and i received this information this morning" geras said with a sympathetic and sad look on his face.
Liu Kang sat on his chair with no emotions other than shock and sadness the news took a huge toll on him "they're dead? That can't be possible," liu Kang said in disbelief he looked down on the ground as tears formed in his eyes "do you know who killed them Geras?," Liu Kang asked geras who looked down in sadness and no hope "i am afraid I don't,but i have some important news that i want to share with you," Geras said to Liu Kang.
Liu Kang looked up with hope "what is it Geras?" Liu Kang asked "lord liu Kang, Titan Hatsune, Titan kung lao and Titan Kitana had a plan if they die, In order for their Titan power not to go into the hands of evil they prepared a transfer seal that when they'll die they're powers would go to another time line where they would be trusted, they transferred their powers to their other selves in a time line where they are surely protected" geras said to liu Kang "that's good news but which time line did they entrust it too?" Liu Kang asked geras with a concerned look on his face "their powers are stored in this timeline, they trusted your time line liu Kang" Geras said "I am sorry can you repeat that" liu Kang said in disbelief.
At the wu shi academy Kung lao had just woken up from his sleep and went to get ready for the day he had his black hair in a small ponytail he rubbed his black eyes as the sun rays shined on his olive skin.
"it is a really good day today!" Kung lao said as he jumped out of bed and tried to do a front flip and land only for him to start floating in mid air "what!? I am floating in mid air!?" Kung lao panicked he then started to calm himself down as he slowly landed on the ground.
Kung lao was shocked 'must be kenshi with his telepathy stuff' kung lao thought as he went to the bathroom and went to get ready for the day.
The cafeteria was surrounded by a lot of monks and including the earth realms champions kenshi, Johnny and raiden who were waiting for kung lao they sighed in relief when they saw kung lao approaching them with his Shaolin attire and wore his razor rimmed hat.
"good morning guy's" Kung lao said and sat down beside raiden "look it's that second choice monk" "sucks to be him" "heard he almost got chosen" "damn poor him" kung lao started to hear people bad mouthing about him behind his back Kung lao looked down in sadness but he wasn't bothered by their word's.
"don't listen to them Kung lao, these jerks are just jealous that you are one of us" Johnny said to kung lao with an annoyed look on his face he looked at Kung lao with a smile trying to comfort him"i know Johnny" kung lao said to Johnny when suddenly "look at how arrogant he is" "I think he is personally jealous of-" "would you just shut up already!? You're supposed to be monks not some gossiping teenagers !" Kung lao shouted at the junior monks.
The windows opened on their own as heavy winds flew inside surrounding the cafeteria "and for your information i maybe arrogant but that doesn't mean I am jealous because raiden is my best friend-" "Kung lao calm down!!" Kenshi shouted at Kung lao who looked to see the food flying around as the people held onto their seats "what happened!?" Kung lao asked as Suddenly the wind disappeared.
"what was that?" Raiden asked kung lao as they finally got down from mid air "i don't know but this morning i was floating when I jumped out of my bed" kung lao said "so liu Kang suspicions were correct" they looked to see geras standing by the cafeteria gate "Geras what are you -" "liu Kang wants to see you this instant" Geras said to kung lao "well what are we waiting for" Johnny Cage said "sorry cage but" Geras said as he stepped inside the went to them he stopped infront of Kung lao "lord liu Kang wants to see Kung lao" Geras said Kung lao eyes widen wondering what it could be about.
In the royal palace of outworld Kitana was asleep at her desk she had been working all night on an assignment her big sister had given her.
Li mei the head of the secret police entered the room to see Kitana asleep "princess wake up!!" Li mei shouted as she carried some books in her hand.
Kitana slowly woke up she rubbed her black eyes and her fair skin glowed in the sunlight, her black hair was a mess she looked at lei mei with a sleepish look on her face "morning Li mei" Kitana said "actually it's the afternoon" Li mei said to Kitana who put her hands on her head in frustration "are you alright princess?" Li mei asked "I am fine Li mei" Kitana said to Li mei "if you say so Princess and empress mileena is having a meeting so I'll see you then" Li mei said before leaving the office.
Kitana sighed "i really need some coffee" Kitana said to herself she looked beside her to see a cup of coffee floating with a teal blue aura surrounding it "am i dreaming?" Kitana asked as she grabbed the cup of coffee and drank it in one gulp "that felt better" Kitana said to herself.
Later Kitana had gotten ready she wore her usual royal clothes and her crown she made her way to the war room she entered the war room to see syzoth, Li mei , mileena , baraka and her father Jerrod who was in control of ermac.
"sorry if I am late" Kitana said "your exactly on time Kitana we were just about to start" mileena said Kitana sighed in relief "thank God" Kitana said to mileena "Kitana are you alright? You look like you haven't slept for days" Jerrod said concerned for his daughter "i am fine father" Kitana said to Jerrod "are you sure Kitana you look like your going to-" "I SAID I AM FINE SO CAN WE MOVE ON AND START THE FUCKING MEETING" Kitana shouted then suddenly everything started to float around the war room "princess calm down" syzoth said to Kitana who was in shock suddenly the weapons fell to the ground and Kitana was in shock.
"it seems that Kitana has also been facing the same issue that Kung lao faced" geras had just arrived at the war room "geras what are you-" "king Jerrod I am here to take Kitana to the monetary lord liu Kang wishes to speak with her about something important" Geras said to Jerrod while Kitana was wondering what had happened.
At the shirai ryu compound Hatsune was currently walking outside her brown hair in a high pony tail and her pale skin glowing in the sun her red eyes with a hint of Amber making them look warm she looked around as she walked in the garden when suddenly she saw Tomas walking with jade.
Hatsune glared at them feeling rage boiling inside of her "hey Hatsune!!" Hatsune looked down at Hanzo "well if it isn't ant man" Hatsune said with a smirk "shut up!!" Hanzo shouted at Hatsune and she rolled her eyes "why were you glaring at Tomas and jade?" Hanzo asked Hatsune she looked at hanzo "i wasn't glaring at them" Hatsune said to hanzo "yes you were I saw it with my own eyes!! Are you jealous?" Hanzo asked with a smirk "i am not jealous!" Hatsune shouted at Hanzo "yes you are-" "listen here short stack if you call me jealous one more time i am going to choke you to death right here and right now!!" Hatsune said to hanzo as red aura formed from the ground without Hatsune notice creating small rock hills around her "you got it?" Hatsune asked with a smirk "yes ma'am" hanzo said scared.
"BY THE ELDER GODS!?" The duo looked to see a huge three headed serpent with black scales and purple skin poison drooled from their mouth with their green fangs sharpened the three headed snake went to attack Tomas but Hatsune rushed forward in front of Tomas with her sword.
As Hatsune was prepared to kill it when she felt some weird energy as a red rune circle formed beneath the monster Hatsune then created red energy ropes from the rune tying the monster up "see you in the netherrealm bitch!!' Hatsune shouted as the monster then got sucked into the rune circle.
"Someone caught her she's going to-" "I didn't faint and that monster is big as hell" Hatsune said interrupting hanzo "are you alright?" Tomas asked Hatsune concerned "i am fine " Hatsune said looking at her hands "Hatsune ryujin" they looked to see Geras "liu Kang has been looking for you for years and finally you have showed yourself" Geras said to Hatsune "maybe whoever your god is should keep looking because I am leaving" Hatsune said as she walked backwards only to get sucked into a sand portal "don't worry she's in safe hands" Geras said before disappearing.
Hatsune ended up in liu Kang office only to see Kitana and kung lao "hi?" Hatsune asked awkwardly "great everyone has arrived" liu Kang said as he entered his office "you wanted to see us?" Kitana asked liu Kang "yes and.." liu Kang paused as he looked at Hatsune who was still confused about what was going on "oh you found Hatsune" liu Kang said to Geras "it was easy to find her lord liu Kang" Geras said to liu Kang.
Hatsune looked around "why am I here?" Hatsune asked liu Kang "that is the same question i am having" kung lao said to Hatsune "i am kung lao" kung lao introduced himself with a smirk Hatsune looked at Kung lao "Hatsune" Hatsune said to kung lao.
Liu Kang watched the two interact having thoughts in his mind "lord liu Kang" Kitana said liu Kang looked at them "oh yes, i would like to introduce you Hatsune the assassin from the netherrealm who had been keeping a low profile for a long time" liu Kang said introduction Hatsune to kung lao and Kitana "now for what I have called you for you see other timeline the time Titans have died a tragic death" liu Kang said trying to hold back his tears "those Titans are your counterparts" liu Kang said to the trio.
The trio were in disbelief "wait dead!?" Kitana said shocked "how!?" Kung lao asked Hatsune was silent as she was processing the information "what else?" Hatsune asked liu Kang "before their death they had made a plan to transfer their powers and those powers have went to you" lord liu Kang said to the three of them "transfer seal, that's clever and it explains why my everything in the war room started floating when I got angry" Kitana said to lord liu Kang "so we have titan powers that's cool!!" Kung lao said excited but Hatsune was worried "you seem worried Hatsune?" Liu Kang asked Hatsune "it's nothing" Hatsune said to liu Kang.
"don't worry you three will have control over these powers in no time but for that you must remain here at the monastery to train" lord liu Kang said to them "i am in" kung lao said "same" Kitana said Hatsune looked down she sighed and looked up "i guess i am in as well" Hatsune said to lord liu Kang.
Liu Kang looked at the trio infront of him kung lao and Kitana were happy but Hatsune seemed worried then happy but liu Kang didn't bother with it since it was her place to tell them.
For now it was time to begin their training .

Its really astounding that Homestuck introduces the concepts of both multi-timelines and multi-universes and also completely shits the bed and ruins the concepts rending them moot at the same time. All those other universes/timelines? Yeah since they arent the "Main/Alpha" timeline, they dont matter and in fact they collapse and everyone in them dies because its not what was supposed to happen. Oh but John can break this rule. And also all those dead selves from the other timelines hangout in the dreambubbles. And theres Ultimate Selves which combine everything from everywhere into one person, but since all those other selves are dead and theres only one alive, how does that work? Who knows! Like if you wanted to do June Egbert, just say shes john from another timeline. Fuck man. Im so goddamn tired of Multiverses as a narrative concept (thanks MCU) but I feel like it would actually help Homestuck out and solve problems.
I think it's even more baffling the fandom itself is NOT embracing multiple timelines and AUs like it used to be. Swap AUs are one thing, but you don't see anything like the next Heinoustuck or alternate timelines like WHAT IF IT WAS BLUE TEAM TROLLS THAT SURVIVED INSTEAD OF RED TEAM? If they are able to embrace AUs in something like UNDERTALE, why not with Homestuck? I bet that even if you have a preference of a different ship like JohnRose or Karezi, nobody can use the excuse ALTERNATE TIMELINE because the fandom will hound on you for not sticking to canon, despite it's canon that ALTERNATE TIMELINES and UNIVERSES exists. Are they gonna pull the doomed timelines don't matter and once someone dead in the Dream Bubbles, they don't matter? Well, then that means any trans Eridan headcanon don't matter because most of them would already be dead in the Dream Bubbles and had come from a Doomed Timeline. Out of all the fandoms that reject alternate timelines and AUs, this is the last fandom I expect in a series that plays around with it so damn much.

The Time Key: The Baba Yaga.
Sample Chapter.
January 1998
Mephisto called Shiro with a very important assignment. The exorcist entered the Directors office and approached his desk.
"Why do I need to do this one." Shiro griped. "Lake Towada is in the middle of fucking nowhere."
"It's a tourist town headed into winter." Mephisto tossed him a scarf and a pair of gloves. "Dress warm. It won't be comfortable."
"Can't some second-class nobody do this gig?" Shiro growled. "This is hardly a job for me."
"I need it to be you." Mephisto shrugged his shoulders. "It's a very precocious Baba Yaga, and proven hard to catch. Not one team from the Order has been able to silence the little beast."
"What's so special about it?"
"It can wield a demon sword." Mephisto smiled, knowing that tidbit would pique Shiro's interest. "They say it's the Fang of the mighty Hachiro."
"You mean, that gigantic lake serpent?" Shiro thought intently. "He's a big deal."
"Indeed." Mephisto nodded. "It would be quite a notch on your belt."
"I'll say," Shiro laughed. "Imagine all the chicks I'd get, if I took down a giant hydra? I'd be the talk of the entire Order. Baba Yaga be damned."
"You best get going." Mephisto urged. "There are no key portals out there, you will need to take the bullet train."
"Who's payin' for that?"
Mephisto groaned in aggravation and opened his wallet. He handed Shiro his credit card.
"You can also buy the Baba Yaga lunch with this."
Shiro stared at him dumbfounded.
"I mean..." Mephisto backtracked quickly. "If you don't murder it, in a blaze of glory, dripping with machismo."
Shiro snatched the card out of Mephisto's fingers and stomped toward the exit.
"I'm buying myself a steak and a round of drinks with this, just so you know."
"If you do that," Mephisto threatened with a laugh.  "You'll be sifting demon shit in the Himalayas, with a team of demon-loving outcasts."
Shiro threw his head back and laughed.
Mephisto was probably joking, but he'd be sure to test the theory.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Entire Mission was Wretched.
Mephisto set him up, that tricky fuck!
Shiro butted out his smoke as he boarded the bullet train from Amori to Kyoto. Following closely next to him, was a filthy, street-rat child. The kid had been the one that saved both their lives. Hachiro had only allowed Shiro to leave, if he agreed to a betrothal. When the Baba Yaga was of age, they would produce Hachiro's future champion ninja.
Of course, it was never going to happen! The kid was only seven!!!
Shiro would be ancient by the time this kid was an adult!!
He slung his body into one of the train seats, scruffing the child up next to him. As soon as the train began to move, a hot gust of air blew from the vents. The girl held her hands up to the warmth with awestruck gratefulness.
The paperwork for this assignment was going to suck.
Shiro groaned with inward realization.
He didn't get his glory, instead, he got the shaft.
He could never breathe a word of this to anyone! They would laugh him right out of the Order!
Not only did he not kill the demon, but he was saved by a little girl.
Because the kid had a crush on him!
As a matter-of-fact, the she wouldn't let him go. The kid kept one hand tightly on his sleeve in desperation, like a barnacle. It was as if she'd never seen humans before. The crowds terrified her.
"Listen kid," Shiro sighed. "Just relax. I'm not leaving you here, my boss wants you taken to True Cross. There's other weird kids like you living there."
"Will you be with me?" She sniffed with tears welling in her eyes.
"Ya." Shiro grumbled, staring out the window. "Unfortunately."
The exorcist was exhausted after battling Hachiro for hours without end, the monster was too strong for anyone to vanquish. The Baba Yaga on the other hand, was just a human pet of the demon. Yet, the pet was more than a pouty little girl, she had a powerful temptaint and was in possession of demon sword.
There was something familiar about her, she reminded her of someone. She had strange pinkish hair, those swirling magenta eyes.
"What's your name kid?"
"Kirigakure." She answered matter-of-factly.
"No, I mean your first name?" Shiro prodded.
The child regarded him with confusion.
She didn't have one.
Shiro felt overwhelmed with pity, he too, didn't have a real name. His earliest moniker was a number from section 13. He was nothing more than an experiment, a test subject. Not meant to have a life or individuality.
"I'm going to call you Shura." Shiro sighed painfully. "Shura Kirigakure."
Yes, that's right. Shiro scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, he named the kid after a woman he met in a bar. But those are the only women he'd ever known, and thus the only female names he had to draw from.
-----------------------------------------------------------
"You named the Baba Yaga after a woman you met in a pub?" Mephisto laughed outright. "How original!"
"What are the odds," Shiro responded thoughtfully. "That this kid has the same colouring as her? She reminds me so much of that woman."
Mephisto shrugged his shoulders.
"Could this be her daughter?" Shiro gestured to the child sleeping on Mephisto's leather couch. "I mean, she has a demon sword. That's some rare shit."
Shiro pulled it from a sheath on his back and handed it to Mephisto. It's a Fang, the woman I met at the bar also described her sword as a Fang. Do you think her mother might still be up in the mountains?"
"No." Mephisto answered succinctly. "From the research I've been conducting into the matter, each Baba Yaga is an identical clone of their mother. Once each incarnation gives birth, she dies and the child takes her place. That child is around seven, the timeline does line-up."
"If this kid is hers, she's dead." Shiro lowered his head at the reality. "That Hachiro is a sick fuck."
"Yes." Mephisto answered. "I'm afraid so."
"What are you going to do with her?"
"She's incredibly powerful, even you have seen it." Mephisto reasoned. "If the Order finds out about her, they will send her to section 13. Fresh blood is hard to find, and this one has unique DNA."
"What are you saying?"
"Train her to be an exorcist." Mephisto urged. "So that she has the tools to keep herself safe."
"Are you for real?" Shiro raised his voice in annoyance. "That kid has a crush on me! I want no part of teaching her!!"
"Well, too bad, so sad." Mephisto replied. "She needs a proper teacher and integration into the human world."
"I'm not the guy to teach anyone how to be human!"
"I'm not so sure about that." Mephisto mused. "You had to learn to be human, if anyone can steer the child in the right direction it's you."
"How long do I need to train the kid?"
"Take her on your missions for the next two weeks." Mephisto smiled. "That'll be enough. Drill into her head, everything you know. She will hang on your every word, and will always remember your wisdom."
"You think I have wisdom?"
"You are a highly talented warrior and the most resourceful in my organization. That's why I chose you to be my champion, and freed you from section 13. In a couple of weeks, I will find her a spot at an orphanage and hide her from the lab. Until then, train her well."
"Fine, Mephisto." Shiro grunted. "But two weeks is all she gets."

December 25, 2017
Shura put down her video game controller stretched her legs.
"It's Christmas Eve." She announced. "Not that this wasn't fun but, I got things to do."
"Oh?" Mephisto paused his player. "I thought we were having a lovely day, you stayed for breakfast and lunch."
"Yeah, you've got some good food around here." Shura nodded. "But, the kids are havin' a party. I should go. It's also the boys' birthday."
"I almost forgot!" He said with fake concern. "My goodness, what will you wear?"
"I gotta go home and wash my Santa dress."
"I see." He smirked. "You mean, that slutty Santa's sister dress? I highly approve!"
He continued to snicker mischievously.
"What's so fuckin' funny?"
"Belial!" The demon shouted. "Did you wash that Santa dress like I ordered?"
"Yes, Master." The butler walked immediately in the room with the outfit pressed on a hanger.
"Wow, are you just sneaking into my apartment, now?" Shura put a hand over her eyes. "Like, I mean thank-you for washing it--but I feel so violated."
"Rin and Yukio live in the same dorm as you." Mephisto explained without a hint of concern. "And as their parental guardian I have instant access to that apartment block, I had you move in there too, for convienence."
"I'm sure you did--"
"For the boys of course." He winked. "Rin is your apprentice."
Mephisto held up an ornate key loop and picked out a bright blue key. "This one takes us to the dorm." He twisted it in the lock and they walked through a portal into her building. It was, as if, the dorm was part of Mephisto's mansion.
"Well shit." Shura was impressed. "So, where do the other keys go?"
"I can't tell you that, yet." Mephisto answered. "Not until you become my champion."
"Pass." Shura guffawed. "But nice try, that deal is dead in the water"
"Ah well," He said wistfully. "It was worth a shot."
An awkward silence descended between them. Shura then raised her chin to Mephisto, and squared her shoulders.
"Mephisto...I have a question."
"Yes?" He answered softly. "What is it?"
"Do you ever try being friends with humans?" She paused, organizing her thoughts. "I mean, sometimes you're almost likeable. Couldn't you attempt to earn their trust?
He arched an eyebrow with interest.
"Say you wanted a demon contract with a person." She continued. "Couldn't they do it because they care about you? Not because it's a game they lose?"
"I suppose, in theory. But human company isn't that easy m'lady." Mephisto sighed. "The complications are endless, the stakes high. Love wanes after an eternity, having true feelings is hard after watching so many loves come and go. It would harden the softest heart, and the sanest mind."
"Wow, I'm sorry, Mephisto." Shura smile slid from her face. "I had no idea."
So, the demon did have baggage, she realized. Probably thousands of years of it.
"Don't be sorry." He squeezed her shoulder. "The reality is what it is. After years upon years of dealing with humans, I got to know how they think, their wants, dreams and desires. All of that knowledge makes love impossible, it takes all the fun out of it. It makes love boring."
"That's hard to believe." She challenged. "There must be some softness in your heart, somewhere. Something you'd find exciting."
Shura extended her hand, touching Mephisto's face with a newfound tenderness.
"M'lady?" He questioned, furrowing his brows in confusion.
Shura leaned in closer, closing her eyes. She brushed her soft pink lips against his, kissing the demon with a caring sweetness. When Shura backed away, she chuckled with slight embarrassment.
"What was that for?" He gifted her with a small amused smile,
"Oh, nuthin," She laughed good-naturedly, pointing upward. "Some asshole hung a piece of mistletoe there. Just doin' my festive duty."
"Festive duty?" He bit back a rueful laugh. "I see."
"Anyway, gotta change, see ya later!" She shouted, slamming the door to her dorm.
Mephisto stood alone in the hallway bemused. He reached above him and plucked the sprig of mistletoe within his fingers.
"Yes, Shura. Some asshole did hang it there."
He grinned evilly.
 "And that asshole was me."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mephisto emerged back in his mansion, and Belial was already waiting.
"The exwires have finally sent your party invitation."
"Those little bastards." Mephisto griped. "Talk about last minute!"
"I'm sure they saved their most important guest for last."
"Yes." Mephisto rolled his eyes at the butler. "I'm sure."
"What are your plans then?"
"I'm going to crash their party." Mephisto grinned wolfishly. "It will now have an "adult component."
"How should I proceed, Sir?"
"Raid the liquor cabinet in the barrister's lounge." Mephisto smirked. "I want the MaCallan 1926, Claze Azul, and some Crystal Pinstripe Black Bottle."
"But Sir!, that's incredibly expensive, if not priceless!" Belial was aghast. "What's the occasion!?"
"A new lease on life." Mephisto twirled with excitement. "It's a new beginning for all of us."
"Will Miss Kirigakure be joining you again tonight?"
The demon gave Belial some knowing side-eye.
"I want the best wine we have and two flutes in my room, for the afterparty."
"Yes, Master." The butler nodded. "Once you return, I will not interrupt you...."
"Good."

LoZ - MOM (Alternate Timelines)
I'd suggest looking over MOM 1 & MOM 2 before reading this, as you might not understand it all without the context.
---
There are 4+ total timelines here; one where Ganondorf & Nemma lose, but Ganon decides against swallowing the Secret Stone, a timeline where Ganon & Nemma win & they kill Link, one where they win, but Nemma manages to convince her husband to spare Link, one where they lose, but for one reason or another, Ganon still decides to swallow the stone & regrets it with every fiber of his soul for the few moments that he has left. There's also one where Ganon wins, but it's due to Nemma getting killed in battle, one where both die, & the last one is where Nemma dies, Ganon turns into Dragondorf, & kills Link.
The one where Ganon & Nemma lose, but he decides against swallowing the Secret Stone is considered the main timeline & the preferred ending. So, we aren't going over that one here.
---
In the timelines where they win, they become king & queen of Hyrule. Though, in both Ganondorf has to contend with the fact that ruling Hyrule wasn't all he thought it'd be. For one, more land & more people means more fucking paperwork. And more responsibility!
Which means more stress!
He doesn't know how he didn't think of that before because by all accounts, it's just simple addition. Or rather, multiplication in this case.
Ganon only had a single small town to deal with before, now he's essentially got 7 times that!
The hell was he thinking?!
---
In the one where he kills Link, he has no army besides the monsters & the Yiga, which he loses the ability to revive monsters every Blood Moon because I'm making it so that Link destroys Ganon's Secret Stone in this timeline anyway, thus there would no longer be any Blood Moons. Thus, he tries to take the ones from the new Sages, but they all destroy their Secret Stones too. So, even though he technically won, all he'll have left is himself & Nemma.
Who will be supportive, but will not sugarcoat the fact that he kinda gambled with his kingdom & lost.
He can end up as Hyrule's king still & even pretty quickly, because even though Hyrule has started to heal here & has some knights & guardsmen, that won't really hold up against an essential army of people who have been training diligently for more than 7 years. Specifically with the goal of conquering Hyrule in mind.
Also keep in mind that we really don't see any new formally trained Sheikah in BotW & TotK, so Hyrule doesn't even have them.
---
In the timeline where Ganon is convinced to spare Link (who he seals away in an interesting twist), he gets to keep the Secret Stone, but chooses not to use it unless he needs to as he's very wary of the whisper in the back of his mind.
And despite everything he did for them, he has to acknowledge the fact that his people no longer follow him &, honestly, kinda hate him.
Anyway, he conquers Hyrule more easily here, but since the Sages don't know that they can break the stones, they don't think to.
However, I'm gonna say that his 10,000 years sealed trying to eat away at Rauru also took its toll on Ganon's Secret Stone, thus his Demon King powers will definitely be nerfed here.
This will cause there to be war in Hyrule as Ganon slowly fights against the resistance lead by the Sages.
He might still end up as king of Hyrule here, but it will be a while coming still.
---
Finally, there's another timeline where Ganondorf goes through with swallowing the Secret Stone. Whether it's because Demise has sunk his claws into Ganon's psyche so much that he took control, or Ganon was so addicted to the power that he could no longer stop himself, or the thoughts didn't really connect what would happen & what that would mean for his wife, but regardless, the results are the same. However, the moment after he swallows it & feels the power begin to surge through him, he catches sight of his wife & then what he just thoughtlessly did & the fallout of his hasty actions for his beautiful bride registers on his face as dread sinks like a boulder into his stomach. Mirthful, manic glee turns swiftly into a look of "Oh Goddess, no! Make it stop!" Before he suddenly looses himself to the draconification.
Nemma is utterly shocked as she has ZERO idea what the hell just happened or why because she knows nothing about the Secret Stones. Only what she heard from her husband.
Either way, Nemma, being the decisive person she is, sort of takes a stand to guard atop Dragondorf's head & defends him however she can. But now that she has both Link & a LITERAL DRAGON (which, keep in mind that she's only ever fought Gleeoks which are lesser, corrupt dragons) to fight & essentially only herself.
But, for just a moment, Link & Nemma see reflected in each other, odd mirrors of themselves. For what they see is themselves reflected back at them. Of what they could of been if their circumstances were changed. It's an uncanny feeling of being seen. Of deep & unparalleled familiarity. Of knowing someone in a way that is only matched by knowing one's own self.
And in that moment they know... that their reflection won't give up. They won't stop. They will fight to kill if it means protecting the one they love most. Because they know that that's what they themselves would do. Is what they're doing. So...
Someone was going to die today.
The resulting clash is nothing short of truly epic.
Unbeknownst to anyone present, too focused upon the battle at hand, their hands glow with the mark of 3 triangles. And for both, only the right triangle is lit up with gold. But for both, only half that triangle is filled in. Link left; Nemma right.
Their altercation leaves both warriors battered to within an inch of their lives. And they find in each other a different sort of match.
But in the end, only one can win. Destiny would have it no other way.
And, unfortunately... Women just don't have the same levels of stamina as men...
Nemma collapses to her knees & Link takes the opportunity given to him to pierce the Secret Stone in Dragondorf's forehead & he dies. Just before his final moments, clarity fills the Demon Dragon's eyes. His only thought, "Nemma..."
With one final push, he caught her in his claw & curled around her protectively.
And upon impact with the ground, Dragondorf shattered, leaving his wife safe on the ground.
Needless to say, Nemma is devastated. Absolutely heartbroken. Her initial reaction is much like Alma's from Encanto during the song Dos Oruguitas in the scene where Pedro confronts the invaders. Just, utterly shattered.
Then, she sort of goes feral & now has an extra burst of adrenaline, which she uses to lash out at Link. For the first time in probably her life, she's letting her emotions rule her. But she couldn't beat him when she was in control of her emotions, so when she's fueled by nothing but seething hate & a desire for revenge, she's got even less of a chance. As such, despite the terrifying boost to her magic that she experiences, she still loses. And when it's over & she's restrained, think Azula's scary-ass breakdown at the end of Avatar: Last Airbender.
Beforehand, she had a relatively neutral opinion of Hyrule's Royal Family. Sure, she wasn't fond of them, but she didn't actively hate them.
Now, she despises them. Absolutely loathes them. And, honestly, I believe that Rauru's spirit would be heartbroken as he'd never wished for this outcome for her. He tries to apologize, but she just bears her teeth, canines sharp as daggers, & snaps at him, indigo eyes as sharp & hard as honed steel with a cold, wolfish glint that promised a swift, yet agonizing death as angry tears poured down her cheeks.
And, honestly, I feel like Link would feel absolutely horrible. Because, holy fuck, he just killed this woman's husband. Who she obviously loved with all her heart & who likewise loved her in return. That's gonna be hard to rationalize, let alone justify. Because, he just went through something similar with Zelda (again, I will die on this hill; they are fucking married, your honor). Which, he'll feel even worse about after Sonia channels his & Rauru's powers through her to Recall Zelda back to being Hylian. Because how unfair is it that he & Zelda get their happy ending when Nemma doesn't?
Like, how do you rationalize this? Sure, Ganon killed Sonia first, but then Rauru kidnapped & sealed Nemma away. Then, Ganon essentially ate away at Rauru. Then, to save Hyrule, Zelda gave up her self, & Link killed Nemma's husband to protect Hyrule & to avenge Zelda, but now she's back. So, who was in the right here?
Anyway, when Nemma learns that everyone she'd ever known was gone. Just gone, & that she's an entire myriennia (period of 10,000 years) away from everything she ever knew, she'll become drained & fall into a deep depression.
I'm not sure what comes next, but either she'll be imprisoned or she'll be released.
In the case of being released, she ends up as the new head of the Yiga, who she sharpens into an absolutely deadly force. For one, by teaching them NOT to reveal themselves before an assassination! While she doesn't hate Hyrule or its people, she does hate the Royal Family for the part they played in upheaving her entire life & destroying her family. It isn't just about Ganondorf, though he's a very big part of it. It's also her grandmother & her friends & the fact that not only does she not know what happened to them, but she also didn't get the chance to say goodbye & will most likely never even learn where they were buried or even if they were buried at all. It's everyone & everything that she lost. It's the work she put into being a good queen, now meaningless. It's the loss of the home that she & Ganondorf had built & that someone else is living there & even if they weren't, she can't even go back to take comfort in his presence because it's been 10,000 years since the smell of him has worn away. It was the fact that there wasn't even a body left to bury! Not even his clothes! All that was left was his Sheikah Stone Earring & the wedding gift she gave him, Fa'gáron Bojaqàr'è.
There was nothing else.
She. Lost. EVERYTHING!!
Either way, she'll eventually find that she was pregnant with Ganon's child & that'll end up keeping her from committing Sepuku. It's a boy. The next Centennial King & Ganondorf's newest incarnation.
Of course, the newest iterations of Kōme & Kotake try to take him from her, but let's just say that they don't get very far.
This new "Ganon" (who won't be named Ganon here, but for all intents & purposes, he plays Ganon's role; maybe I'll name him Jaqàrasïm, meaning shadow protector; Jàq for short) is extremely loved & cherished, but here, his hatred of Hyrule will be fueled by the loss of his father & his sorrow on his mother's behalf. And due to not using black magic, he has the same skin color as other Gerudo rather than the green complexion that his father had, if a shade or 2 lighter due to his mother. He'll also have Nemma's ocean blue eyes that will slowly turn red over time until they reach the shade of ruby red upon mastering the Mind's Eye. However, Jàq will never be able to open Sahasrara as, because much like his own mother, he will be unable to just let go of his earthly attachments.
It also won't be just for power's sake. And, in fact, Nemma will have raised him to value only the power that he earns with his own 2 hands. Which, he'll embody a lot of his mother's values. He'll still have that innate desire for power & the invasive Demise thoughts in the back of his head, but he'll have been taught how to control it & to not let himself be defined by his thoughts. That unchecked power is more a curse than anything else, as it was partially what took his father from him.
Either way, as a result of this, he'll embody the heart of a true king despite being a largely morally grey individual.
When he attacks Hyrule, it will be personal. And he'll fight like both his father & his mother.
He'll fight for the life they could've had together.
And, honestly? I think that he'd succeed. He'd be a damn good king, but he'd rule with an iron fist, though sheathed in a velvet glove much like how his mother had ruled the Gerudo in the past & how she continued to rule the Yiga afterwards.
Either way, he'll have a deep understanding of both Gerudo & Sheikah traditions & fighting arts as his mother taught him as such.
I don't know if he'll become the Gerudo King, but he'll always love his mother, who will likewise always be on his side.
Just like Nemma was ride or die for Ganon, she'll be ride or die for Jàq too. Until the day she dies & even beyond that.
Jàq will also fight using his father's Fa'gáron Bojaqàr'è.
Anyway, Jàq isn't actually Ganon reborn the way his father was the previous Ganon & the 2 before him. The reason being that Ganon had literally only died just 9 months before Jàq was born & that's not nearly enough time for a soul to be ready for reincarnation. Jàq is actually a completely new soul, born of the union between Nemma & Ganondorf, which new souls can only be born from the union of soulmates. The only part of him that was actually Ganon's before, was the hatred of Demise that bore the curse as it was time for the next incarnation of Demise's hate to be born, like right then, & so was the next Centennial King, so Demise's Hatred just basically went, "see ya, bitches" & jumped ship to a new body. In this way, Jàq isn't Ganon, but he takes on his role.
(I have mixed feelings for this timeline as, on the one hand it's just soo angsty~! >:3)
(On the other hand, I want Ganondorf, Jaqàrasïm's father, to have his life with Nemma.)
---
Regardless of which timeline we're talking about, I want Ganondorf's spirit, with the last of his strength, to place an enchantment upon both his & Nemma's souls. So that whenever they are reborn in a new life, they will be drawn together in one way or another.
He doesn't care what their relationship ends up being in each one, but selfish man that he is, he doesn't want to keep doing this cycle anymore without her.

*staring off into space*
Technically, if timelines do in fact exist, it would invalidate many plot lines used in fiction in which the protagonists must go back in time to prevent change to the future. The reality of the situation would be that their timeline would stay the same, whilst a new timeline was created from that change in the “past” (which in in itself is just alteration of a timeline that started moving forward after the timeline the protagonist(s) originated from began, as well as being one that followed the same linear plot as the protagonists up until that point of change).
This also brings to question why the memories of the protagonist(s) and/or side and bg characters showed that ‘change’ in the first place, especially if the alteration directly affects the plot of a previous episode, book, etc. You’d assume their memories would fit that “change” due to their timeline being directly tinkered with, affecting the “current” situation (the plot the viewers are/were following) and causing them to make different decisions.
Following this, if the antagonists plan is to change the timeline so that the protagonists never existed, that would mess up a whole ton of shit including the antagonists plans and stuff. The protagonist(s) would stop existing in the past, them have never been in that situation in the first place thanks to their story being changed in a way to where they weren’t “interfering” with the antagonists plans. The antagonist(s) wouldn’t have fought the protagonist(s) in the first place (them not having existed), therefore giving them no reason to travel back in time and creating a paradox.
If the antagonist(s) and protagonist(s) end up returning to a “future” (the current plot line being shown to the viewers) where the “changes” made in the “past” were in effect, that would be a different timeline and would therefore have doubles of the protagonist(s) and antagonist(s) (unless they’re all dead), creating an instability in that timeline thanks to trans-lineal counterparts interacting with the same timeline at the same point in time as the other. “Our” version of the protagonist(s) being in what would technically count as the future, thanks to the other protagonist(s) timeline having started before “ours”.
You still following me? No? Okay then. I’ll keep talking anyways.
If, in fact, the protagonist(s) go back to un-fuck up the past, there’s no guarantee that they’ll actually be in their original timeline once they return to the “present” (or for now, the future). The timeline they came from may be continuing without them, whilst this one they’ve entered is almost identical to their original where the only difference is that some random man had pancakes for breakfast instead of waffles. Each choice made creates a new timeline, and there’s a high chance of the protagonist(s) entering another alternate timeline and being completely unaware.
