I've had this on my mind for a while but I can't write xd
You are Diluc's farm hand. Hired you to keep up with his livestock and supply runs back and forth from Mondstadt, but then he starts to fall in love with you as you bond over picking grapes and taste testing new flavors for wine even if he hates the liquid. Him peeking at you from the side to help unload the carriage as you toss a sack of yeast over your sweaty shoulder like it's nothing. Diluc getting his little 'oh..' moment. Cute little scenario.
yes okay im seeing this and im going to. yes i see you
Tumblr media
The sun shone brightly down on the vineyard, light bouncing off of the ripe grapes. You enjoyed your job here as Diluc's farmhand as it was truly the definition of honest hard work.
Diluc was a kind boss and you couldn't help but work your hardest just knowing that his praise was what would follow suit. He worked hard alongside the rest of the staff, stepping out of his office to do the administrative work to help haul the loads of grapes day after day to lighten your burden. It only further indentured him in your heart, deepening the relationship between the two of you.
Today, the two of you are stuck by yourselves unloading the latest shipment of supplies. Everyone else was busy with their own tasks, leaving the two of you to continue with your pleasant conversation. Despite what everyone might think, you believe Diluc has a fine sense of humor, stopping for a second to laugh at something he says.
"Was it really that funny?" he asks with a bit of a chuckle, standing upright and stretching after coming back from dropping the other bag.
You wipe a stray tear from your eye, nodding as you begin to get a bag yourself.
"Diluc, you're really too much sometimes," you respond, still laughing a little to yourself as you throw the bag over your shoulder.
Diluc can't help but stare. He wasn't a weak man by any means, but there was something about the way you worked that mesmerised him. Now, here he was staring at you walk away and put down the bag as though it weighed nothing.
The second you turn back around he turns his attention back to the carriage. It's nowhere near as intriguing as you are to look at but it's better than embarrassing himself as he tries to grapple with these feelings in his chest you stir up.
When he thinks he's calmed down enough he turns back around to start the conversation again, only to be taken aback by you brushing back your hair and smiling at him.
Whatever you say next is a blur to him, brain not processing anything other than the fact that you look absolutely spellbinding just standing their next to him. He wracks his brain trying to explain why you have such an effect on him.
Surely, this isn't love. There's no way that he's fallen in love with you, not with how busy he is. He's got no time for a relationship, no time for how sweet you are, the way you laugh at his jokes, the dimples of your smile, how strong you are.
No, no he's got no time for that. And besides, he's Diluc. Master Diluc. There's no way he'd fall in love so easily.
"Diluc? Is something the matter? You look feverish."
You press a warm palm against his forehead, brows creased with worry. He shakes his head, trying to tell you that all is well even though all he wants to do is melt into your arms.
He blinks a little, laughing a bit at the thought.
...there's no way, right?
Right.
Right!
....oh no.

Tumblr media
Traveler Aether
How you guys met
It was a regular school day, walking back home in the warm weather. The birds were singing, flowers were blooming, on days like these, people like you. Get hit with a damn truck-
When you opened your eyes you noticed you were in the login place of Genshin Impact, the door right in front of you. Deciding to be smart you turned around to see the Heavenly Principle staring down at you.
So without a second thought you just opened the door, a bright white light filled your vision, when your vision cleared you were falling from the sky in a bright golden light. Looking down you see Aether, the twin you picked for your travels, holding an Intertwined Fate- wait a minute....were you just pulled?!
Aether noticed you weren't the character he tried to summon, but he quickly caught you either way, making sure you weren't hurt on the way down. The two of you just stared at each other in complete confusion, well, looks like you're gonna have to explain what just happened in the last few minutes.
Aether just looked down at you as he held you, completely confused on why a random person with fell and not a character like Qiqi or Diluc, or hell, the character he was summoning.
"Uhm...hello?"
"Uh...hi?" You said, slightly embarrassed at the fact that Aether was carrying you. Noticing your embarrassed expression Aether quickly but carefully put you down. Looking around you noticed that you were in Mondstadt, at Vanessa's tree, it looked like Stormterror was still active. There was a brief silence between the the two of you before Aether cleared his throat.
"So..uhm...I'm Aether, and you are?"
I looked around awkwardly, averting your eyes from him, "I'm [Name], uhm....I'm not from here..uh.."
Aether softly chuckled, "I can tell, so, you're not from this world..where..did you come from? If you don't mind me asking!"
You shuffled around a little, sitting on a rock nearby, "Well..it's a long story...basically, I come from a world where uh- there's more? less? technical advantages? I'm not sure if my world's technology would be considered more advanced or less with this world's, stuff..."
"Traveler! Paimon just came back from Good Hunter's! What are you- AHH- WHO ARE YOU?!" The floating pixie screeched, hiding behind Aether.
"Paimon, this is [Name], they came from another world." Aether explained, sweat dropping at his companions reaction.
"Oh...WAIT THEY'RE ALSO FROM ANOTHER WORLD?!"
"Paimon-"
After explaining all that's happened to you in the pass few minutes, the two looked at you with a mixture of shock and a bit of pity.
"So...you're saying you died when you got here?...You were hit by a truck? Paimon's sorry....Paimon didn't know you died when you were brought here.."
"So...what are we going to do now?" You asked with your arms crossed .
"Oh! Paimon knows! You can join us on our travels! We're trying to find the 7 Archons to find where his sister went! We could also see if they have any information on how to get you back home!"
"That sounds like a great idea Paimon! Come on, we're currently trying to find the Anemo archon, and we were just about to head back to Mondstadt. Let's go together." Aether reached a hand out to you, knowing you don't got any other options, you grabbed his hand, heading to Mondstadt with the two of them.
How his crush developed on you
After a handful of weeks passed by, traveling and hanging out with Aether and Paimon, trying to find any information on his sister and how to get you back home, the three of you, Aether, and Paimon have grown pretty close together.
Ever since Stormterror, well- Daviln had chilled out, everything's been a lot more peaceful. Minus the daily commissions with fighting hilichurls and the Abyss. Though, you can't help but mentally die a little inside every time a hilichurl was slaughtered..
You, Aether and Paimon had met up with the Anemo Archon, now known as Venti the Bard. After chatting with him about Aether's sister and if there was a way to get you home. Venti suggested to go ask Morax, the Geo Archon at the Rite of Descension since he knows a lot more than Venti.
And so the three of you head off, but not before taking a walk around Mondstadt one last time.
"Ah...I'm gonna miss Mondstadt..." You say as the three of you walk, passing Vanessa's Tree and through Windrise. Aether and Paimon both let out some mhm's and 'yeahs'.
"Yeah...even though we didn't find much about my sister or how to get you home. We still had a good time right?" Aether replied, Paimon let out a big 'Yeah!' as she floated next to the two of you.
"Now that I think about it...we probably wouldn't have gotten wrapped up the whole Stormterror thing if we didn't spied on Venti huh?" You commented, a subtle breeze passing through the three of you, the familiar bard's voice saying, "Yeah, you wouldn't have."
Aether smiled sheepishly while Paimon shouted out to the bard stomping her foot into the air, "Listen here Tone-Deaf Bard! Quit listening in on our conversations!!"
A small "Hehe~" was heard before the winds disappeared, leaving the three of you alone as you walked up the cliff of The Thousand Winds Temple.
“So, Liyue huh? I wonder how’s that gonna turn out for us” You commented looking up out in the sky.
The three of you (well more like you and Aether) sat down on the edge of the cliff. Golden Hour casting a bright gold onto you three as you watched the sunset.
Aether looked at you, your face smiling as you closed your eyes to listen to the sound of waves. A small dreamy smile appeared on Aether’s face, resting his head on his hand.
“A nice view isn’t it?”
"Agreed"
Just realizing what he said, Aether quickly looked away, his face flushed with pink. Paimon noticing this, opened her mouth to say something but her mouth was covered by Aether. Who continued looking at you with adoring eyes, a small smile as the three of you enjoyed the sunset.

There are many Venti fans that believe he will receive a second part to his story quest when Dornman Port releases and while I understand that, plus understand the need for him to have a second story quest, I believe it does a great disservice to him when there is already content in the game, with specifically Mondstadt, that has not been expanded on in any way, shape or form that could have already been used as potential grounds for a second story quest.
Another argument is that Venti is only "end game content" as in he will only be relevant when the Traveler reaches Khaenri'ah to learn the truth about what happened during the Cataclysm, and yes, that could be the case but it would be detrimental if hoyo was to wait that long not only for him, but for the other Archons as well.
You'll remember that the game is pushing the narrative to us, the players, that the Archons are directly responsible for the Cataclysm and are only showing us Khaenri'ah's side of the story. There's even a red herring that the Traveler seeks to ask specifically Venti and Zhongli about the fall of Khaenri'ah while in the same breath, talks about the battles the Archon faced to defend their nations and the wounds that still linger 500 years later, but no Archon directly tells the Traveler their side of the story, the Traveler has not went back to previous nations to ask, which leads to so many unanswered questions.
I'd like to go back first and explain why I do not think Venti's second story quest will release with Dornman Port (and if it does, it'll be a miracle and I'll come back to this) and it is because it seems too trivial to release an important part of an Archon's story with a small area, especially a port. That, and the current trend with Archons' story quests (save Furina) is that they have a boss, and vital pieces of information are found out before that boss is fought. There's the argument that Andrius and Dvalin are the two bosses already (Andrius was the "second world boss for Mondstadt" already) and it's unlikely that there would be a third Mondstadt boss, but why would that be? Mondstadt is the first nation we visit. Perhaps later trends in how story quests and it's related bosses work came after.
Don't get me wrong, I would love a Mondstadt expansion, but I doubt a Dornman Port release would answer all of the many other plotpoints unexplored as well as other questions that remain unsolved. I'm sure we'd get a nice World Quest, as these new World Quests are very good, or subtle lore drops like the random release of Perinheri, but that's about it and after that we would all be left disappointed.
I've already went over potential plotpoints that would be far better, such as why Durin's heart still beats at Dragonspine, why the Abyss Order was/is mostly active at Mondstadt, the presence of Istaroth, why hoyo is literally doing nothing with Albedo (to be fair, a lore drop for Albedo could just be behind a second story quest for him which he deserves), and Grand Master Varka's expedition, plus so, so much more including the Mare Jivari (which is what I speculate will be important when Natlan releases) and even Old Mondstadt. All of which could have been already explored in a second story quest for Venti, but we're left having to speculate when it will release.

ooc. this ended up somewhat disjointed, but I have to put my thoughts somewhere. Diluc headcanon/meta/general rambling below the cut because it got pretty long.
I was looking over the manga again and got reminded of this:
Tumblr media
It's so easy to miss even when there's a whole panel dedicated to highlighting it, because it's such a small detail, but that's a partial Fatui symbol on Diluc's mask. Seeing it again got me thinking about why it's there in the first place, especially since the full page and the next couple after it carry some implications if you stop and think about what Dottore says for a moment. I don't wanna make this post too long just due to images, so I'll type the dialogue here instead:
Dottore: "But the loss of this menial...is happily balanced out by this unexpected finding. That 'Vision' you're wearing is indeed interesting. Diluc: "What? What are you saying?" Dottore: "I'd love to indulge in this some more, but that's it for now. Keep up the good work and hone your unimpressive powers. Farewell. I can see...a bright future ahead of you."
Here, it's obvious Dottore knows things Diluc doesn't, despite the fact that this is after Diluc has returned to Mondstadt—meaning after he wrecked Fatui strongholds left and right for years in search of vengeance and information on delusions, and after he joined a secret intelligence organization. Despite all his efforts and connections, there's still so much information he doesn't have, meanwhile Dottore sure just implied something.
Back to the mask. It's Fatui-made, or else it wouldn't have that symbol, and thus it likely came with the delusion as a set. We also know from Crepus' words just prior to the attack that he once intended to give the delusion to Diluc as a gift. This leads to two main possibilities, and both could be true:
That theory of a mask being required to safely use a delusion is somehow true, and/or...
Along with the delusion, that mask in particular was intended specifically for Diluc, because it being an owl mask is a little too on the nose to ignore.
Now this got me thinking even further, because why would Diluc be given a custom mask when he (as far as we know) had no ties to the Fatui at that point? You could argue that since we don't know for certain how Crepus obtained the delusion in the first place, he may simply have paid for it and the mask and asked that the mask be custom-made with Diluc in mind.
But that's the boring answer, and it doesn't match up with Dottore's implications, nor does it match with Barnabas being so shocked that Diluc possessed a delusion. If the Fatui were willing to hand out delusions to just anyone in exchange for large sums of mora back then, it wouldn't be that much of a shock, right?
There's also the popular theory that Crepus was a former member of the Fatui and/or a former Harbinger, and that's how he got the delusion at some point. It's a fun theory, and it could very well be true, but I'm iffy on it tbh. Something about it just doesn't quite fit to me. (This is also mostly me trying not to just jump on the bandwagon and copy a popular headcanon, so if you like that theory, please don't let me stop you from enjoying it!)
My own thoughts ran away from me yesterday, and I decided to look into something. As someone who also writes Childe, I've looked into commedia dell'arte stuff before. Since many of the typical commedia characters reference certain animals for inspiration in some way, I decided to dig deep and see if I could find any reliable information regarding any of them referencing an owl.
Boy, when I tell you that my jaw fucking dropped. Tartaglia is often likened to an owl, and I have no idea how I didn't come across that information before now. In hindsight, it explains why in one of the pre-release betas, Childe was the one with the Noctua constellation rather than Diluc. But this along with every other breadcrumb combined thus far gave me a fun little idea.
What if Diluc was meant to take up the title of Tartaglia before Crepus' death cemented his hatred of the Fatui, and Childe took the spot instead, in part only because Diluc never did? What if Crepus made a desperate deal with the Fatui when Diluc was young, so hung up on his need to live vicariously through his son's success that he was willing to hand Diluc over to them when he came of age, lured in with the promise that Diluc would have ample power and never want for anything as a Harbinger? They even offered an experimental delusion without explaining all the risks, both as a means of dangling a proverbial carrot and creating a means for them to observe what will happen when it's inevitably used.
But then Diluc gained a vision on his own, and later soared through the ranks in the Knights of Favonius. He didn't need the Fatui to thrive and succeed, and thus Crepus ultimately backed out of the deal...and paid the price.
It always did strike me as a little odd that the attack on Crepus and Diluc felt like a hit, since it was triggered by a deliberately placed Fatui device. But if the Fatui had just received word that Crepus was backing out of a major deal that should have come to fruition on Diluc's eighteenth birthday...it makes sense.
Dottore's cryptic implications also fit this idea, because that "bright future" could mean that he's aware of the whole deal and just waiting for the day that Diluc becomes a Harbinger anyway.

Hi. Sorry for the following rant, but you're the only person I know who seems to be having a hate-love relationship with genshin. Please feel free to ignore this though if you want.
So I was doing Zhongli's first story quest, about Havria, and it's revealed that when she died there was backlash due to her godly powers. Now I don't remember for certain if this is canon or fanon, but I also thought that the reason Osial was imprisoned and not killed was due to the backlash. So how did Zhongli's "death" not get questioned then? Like Rex Lapis' death should have leveled at least half of Teyvat. And maybe sure, common citizens wouldn't have this information, but at least the Adepti should have known. Was it explained somewhere and I just missed it?
Like Liyue arc was so full of plot holes it's not even funny anymore. (And this is coming from someone who is willing to overlook a few plot holes). Is it so hard for Mihoyo to hire some competent writers, or at least keep track of all that's being said. Like I get that writing is hard, but if you strip it to the bare bones genshin is a simple story, and I think if they had kept that in mind they could have done so much better.
Again sorry for the long rant. i guess I just needed to vent a little bit.
Ah, you poor soul....
You made the classic mistake. When reading Genshin, you felt the hollowness of the storyline and the lack of any logic or explanation behind its events, so you instinctively tried to connect what was happening to other parts of the story. Your self-made explanation made sense, it felt good, so you assumed it was actually canon. But it's not.
There is no reason ever given for why Morax sealed his enemies instead of killing them. This is simply never discussed or mentioned. Same way there is no explanation for why the Traveler wants to see Morax's corpse so bad, or why we think a Guizhong Ballista will help us look for the cocogoat. We just do it because the plot needs us to do it.
In regard to gods exploding when they die, it seems to be something they can choose to control. The energy Andrius unleashed when he died (because, yeah, he's a ghost in present day) was actually beneficial to Mondstadt, since it change the previously frozen climate to something warmer. There's also no mention of Deshret or Rukkhadevata causing any big explosions with their deaths.
Take your personal pick of whether Havria was just taken too much by surprise to control it, was too weak and pathetic to control it, or if she decided to fuck up those bitches who shanked her on purpose.
In regard to why the adepti never question the whole "Rex Lapis was MURDERED" thing, it's because his supposed murder is just a plot device to have a cool sequence of events where the Traveler is a fugitive for some reason. After the end of Act 1, the entire concept of his death being caused by someone intentionally is largely dropped. EDIT: On replay, there's some mention from Keqing that the Qixing would nominally be the best suspects (though no explanation how they could have possibly achieved it), but that the adepti simply do not believe humans could have done it. On the other hand, they also never mention the adepti looking for any non-human culprit, so... do they think he just dropped dead from old age? This is never explained. At the end, the Qixing just tell the human populace that Morax failed a heavenly trialed and uh ascended or something.
At the most generous, you can say that "murder" was just Ningguang's kneejerk reaction and she sweeps it under the rug as quickly as possible once she realizes how stupid it is, and the adepti never took it that seriously. They're just mad in a generic way that Rex Lapis is dead, whatever the cause might be.
Honestly, Genshin's plot being stupid is like... it's bad. But it's made infinitely worse for me by that fact that the characters are worse. The characterization and (lack of) character arcs are just... I can't do this. Why does this """story""" even exist? It's so pointless.
....I mean, I know why it exists. GOTTA SELL THOSE ANIME WAIFUS

CHAPTER FOURTEEN:
Memories Lost and Memories to Gain
YOUR POV
Peeking over Aether’s shoulder, you followed his gaze on the map that he’d recently bought off of another adventurer.
“So it’s almost a straight-shot from here,” you pointed.
“Yeah,” he nodded, “but we’re going to be walking for quite a while.”
You hummed and allowed a comfortable silence to fall over the brief conversation.
“…”
“Hey, Y/N? Why did you decide to come with us?”
Curious, golden eyes met yours. A silent push to get you to talk. A gentle smile painted itself onto your face.
“I want to help you find your sister, plus you saved me so I’m in your debt,” you explained, hoping that he would buy your reasoning and drop the subject.
Though it was partially true, it wasn’t the whole truth. Sure, you did want to help him and you enjoyed his company as much as you assumed he enjoyed yours but you had your own questions. You wanted your memories back. You wanted to see the world you we kept away from for five hundred years. And most of all, you wanted to face the ones who created you…the ones who sealed you away.
“…/N? You okay?”
Snapping out of your thoughts, you turned to face him. Aether had stopped walking and so had you.
“You spaced out for a bit,” he said, reaching up to place a hand on your shoulder. The weight being a welcomed comfort from the darker thoughts that threatened to overtake you.
His gaze was piercing, like he was trying to look past your skin and bones and into your very soul. Maybe he could. With all he’s accomplished so far, you wouldn’t be surprised.
“You weren’t telling the truth, were you.”
Fuck.
You mentally cursed at yourself and turned away. “I…I do want to help but I also want my own answers.” Gripping the fabric of your clothes, you continued. “I want to know why they listened to Venti instead of killing me when they had the chance. I mean, I guess I’m grateful for it but at the same time, I believe that losing your memories is a fate worse than death.” Tears began to spring forth. You looked to the ground in hopes that Aether wouldn’t be able to see. “I can barely remember the friends I had back then—if I even had any. Even the basic customs of this world or the nations…it’s frustrating!”
A pale hand slid gently over your own. The iron grip you had on your clothes loosened just enough for Aether to bring your hand up along with his own before intertwining your fingers with his.
“I don’t think I can say that I understand,” he began. “But I don’t know much about this world either. Without Paimon I’d still be stuck in Mondstadt or worse.” He brought his other hand up to brush away the tears that still lingered on your cheeks. “So we can learn about this world together, and if your memories come back, you can teach me everything you know.”
You nodded, leaning into his touch. “Yeah…yeah, okay.”
Once you had calmed down enough, the two of you resumed your journey. Paimon occasionally popped out to chat or snag some food whenever it was available. You were grateful for her presence as it gave you something else to focus on for the time being, even while she was groaning and grumbling about wanting to get to the city faster.
“We only get one chance to meet the Geo Archon, remember?”
“We know, Paimon. But not all of us can float, remember,” Aether shot back, adding the last bit to mock the floating pixie.
You chuckled at their exchange and stared at the path ahead. With how far you’ve gotten, it would be shameful to call it quits. But there was no way that the two of you could travel the rest of the way in one go…unless…
“Alright, I think I can make it,” you muttered, catching the attention of the bickering pair.
“Uh, Y/N? What are you talking about? You’re not gonna leave us, are you,” Paimon asked.
“Only if you fall off,” you teased before shapeshifting into your creature form and leaning down to let them climb on. A chuff flew from your muzzle, a signal to the pair that you were ready to go.
The second Aether gave you the ‘okay,’ you broke into a sprint.
Back in Dragonspine, there wasn’t much room to run without encountering the border or the Fatui. All that pent up energy seemingly resurfaced and increased tenfold. And you intended to use every last bit of it.

I love your cat reader and Gorou fic!! It's so cute and fun and the with mentioning heats it got my mind spinning
Like imagine being in heat and having Gorou gently groom/coddle you to help distract you from the pain and get the attention you craved 🥺 I just think it'd be super cute
a/n: Anon you made me go research about cat heat symptoms and effects- hnnngggshhdj honestly such a cute idea!!! I love it so here's a brainrot. Although I did research about heats, im changing it a bit for the fic to work. please don't use this as a basis for what your cats are good through.
notes: istg it's a SFW brainrot, heats, Kätzlein Reader (Diona's cat bloodline), mutual pining!! sleep deprived work
masterlist | based on this drabble and this brainrot
Heats & Distractions (Cat!Reader x Gorou) SFW
Being a part of the Kätzlein clan had its difficulties; from controlling your natural instincts in front of your human comrades to dealing with your addiction to catnip, you handled them all through life long practice and discipline.
There are times when you have to keep your impulses in check though. Things like pouncing on birds and taking random naps were easily controlled — but other things, like reminding yourself that the ingrained feeling of danger around your general was just your cat side talking, was a bit more difficult to deal with.
Another issue was your heat. As the season of spring blossoms around Inazuma, your body begins to heat up in discomfort. It started as a numb ache in your lower stomach. The ache wasn't exactly painful, but it was bothersome enough to distract you from focusing on your tasks.
You keep dropping things and stumbling, mind hazy from heat and feeling constantly distracted. Kazuha's worried about you; He has an arm around your shoulder, taking your things instead and asking if you're feeling alright.
You reassure him that you're fine, just tired. You're a little shy about admitting that it's your heat. He encourages you to take a break in the medical quarters and before you could register where he's leading you, you're already on the way.
You don't want to go to the medical, though. They don't exactly have anything that could help you and revealing your... situation to any of the nurses and soldiers would only warrant teasing and jokes from the immature ones.
It was Gorou who stops you and Kazuha. He's standing in front of you two, eyeing you up and down. Kazuha explains the situation that you weren't feeling well and you, again, say you're fine.
Gorou sighs and brushes a hand through his hair, before taking you by the wrist away from the medical. "They're fine, Kazuha,"
Kazuha confusingly protests at his friend, but Gorou quickly turns to whisper to him.
"It's... a hybrid thing. It's spring." Gorou says and Kazuha, with realization dawning on his face, nods and lets you go with the general.
You're both alone now, in a corner by the training area when he stops to look at you again.
"Why are you out? Shouldn't you be resting?"
"I really am fine! I'm not sick. Kazuha's overreacting-"
"You do know I could smell your heat from a mile away?"
You freeze, mouth agape as you stare, blush rising to your face. He knew? Your long time crush since you arrived in the resistance knew? You didn't think it would be that obvious to another hybrid of a different species but it was slightly embarrassing.
"I thought I could ignore it!" You groan, admitting your situation, "It doesn't hurt much but I- just so-" You mutter off, dizzy.
Gorou sighs, "Let's get you to your barracks. As your general, I'm putting you on bed rest for the next few days. Or whatever long this takes."
You blush, following along as he guides you to your personal quarters.
Most days, you really were fine! Taking walks around the area and helping patrol, other days, you were a whining mess, purring and pawing at your bedsheets in discomfort. Had you been back in Mondstadt, perhaps you could've found ways to alleviate the symptoms from your clan, but here you were a thousand miles away fighting a dictatorship.
What you didn't expect was for the general to visit your quarters every so often. The first time he entered with a plate of salmon from the kitchen, your ears and tail perked up in excitement.
Forget the fact that your natural mortal enemy slash crush was in your room — he brought you salmon! He would sit by your bed, chatting about what was going on in the army. To you, it sounded like he was a soldier giving his daily reports, which you found funny considering he was the general.
It was when you realized how helpful it was as a distraction from the numbing ache did you learn to fully appreciate his presence.
Of course, heats don't usually go so smoothly. It was a particularly bad night when you crumpled yourself in bed, arms wrapping around your waist as the ache was starting dull your senses. You needed to feel something, anything to ground yourself back from your dizzy state.
Gorou walked in that night with a can of tuna. Something that was promptly ignored and left on your bedside as he rushed over to you. His hands gently on your shoulder.
"Hey hey, I'm here. You okay?" He worriedly thinks back to his own heats. He usually goes through them just fine, with the war being a good distraction, but he isn't sure how much dog heats and cat heats resemble in terms of treatment. He wasn't quite sure what to do for you.
"G-gorou!" You quietly sob, "I hate this! I- I need something- stimuli-!" Your hand reaches out to grip on his top. He sits on your bed, brushing away the strands of hair from your face.
"It's okay, you're okay," He reassures you, patting your head.
Your grip on his loosened as he brushes against your ears. A silence settles itself between you. He rubs both your ears gently, warm and calloused hands softly massaging the sensitive muscles. You sigh in relief, unconsciously snuggling up to his abdomen.
"Lay down with me," You mumble after a while of his massage. You were in a daze now, an almost drunken state of exhaustion from dealing with your heat. Gorou looks at you hesitantly before laying down next to you.
Your long tail finds its way on his stomach. He figures you wanted him to pet it as he carefully brushes through the fur.
"Don't you go through this too?" You ask, attempting to start a casual conversation. Your eyes were closed as you cuddle up to his side.
"Yeah but it's already over," He tells you, turning his head to look at you. Both your faces closer than necessary.
"I guess you don't have it as bad?" You giggle and he notices how much he likes the sound of your laugh.
"Not exactly. I mean, Kazuha and her excellency would help distract me whenever it gets too bad. But I guess you can say I know how you feel."
Suddenly, you groan and look up the ceiling, "This wouldn't be a problem at all if we had mates!"
"W-what!" Gorou sits up, face turning red.
"What? Why so blushy, general? I mean, wouldn't it be easier to go through heats with a lover-" You laugh, sitting up as well, "Unless... you were thinking that I wanted us to be mates-"
"No! Of course not," His ears twitch frantically, hands dropping your tail, "I m-mean, we're friends! And you're part cat, I'm part dog, don't you think that's kind of... I don't know, weird?"
He doesn't notice the way your smile drops from your face. You gaze away from him, voice turning low into a whisper.
"... Is it really that weird?" You mumble and he's looking back at you as you look anywhere but back at him, "For a cat and dog to be together?"
Gorou tilts his head confusingly. He gets a feeling that something has shifted in the air, like he said something wrong but he isn't quite sure what. "Wouldn't it be? They're complete opposites in terms of their nature." He says.
Your eyes linger on him before you break out into a small laugh, "I guess it does sound weird! Besides, as you've said-" You flop back down your bed, "We're just friends."
"Ah- yeah..." Gorou isn't sure how the situation turned awkward. He's unsure whether he should lay back down on your bed either.
"Thanks for comforting me with my heat, but you should really go now," You say, picking up the forgotten can of tuna next to your bed.
Gorou quietly leaves your quarters that night. When he walks back to his barracks, eyes on the wide night sky, he thinks back to your form snuggling to him.
He thinks of your face that was unnecessarily close to for friends; of your shared whispers that were too intimate between a general and his soldier.
Gorou doesn't understand cats. He doesn't understand why his heart feels heavier than usual either.
note: I didn't mean for this to be angst but here we are. fun fact! but the heat scene was actually inspired by something that happened during my period. I get really bad cramps, one time I was puking and heaving terribly, i couldnt even lie down properly without sobbing in pain. my ex stayed by me that time and grounded me whenever i get dizzy.

Ok so i had this random thought about your yan!diluc. How would he react if someome close to him says something bad to his S/O?
Lats say, for example, Jean ?
Disclaimer: i love jean, dont hate her at all, im simply curious because its very obvious they respect eachother
Anyways, what would happen of jean makes diluc lover cry/feel bad? Would Diluc let it slide? Would he ruin jean? Ive been thinking about this for quite some time now not gonna lie
Also i just want to say i love your fics<333
I had a spur-of-the-moment idea, so I wrote this pretty quickly.
Also, you're really sweet <333
No hate for Jean though, she's my main healer, other than Barbara and Qiqi. So I like her a lot, but it was fun writing this!
I mourneth not f'r thee! pt1

"You're not fit to become a knight, (Name)," her voice is steady and strong.
Clad in beauty and regalness, her blond curls and straight face adorned her majestic, blue eyes. Back straightened and voice steadily warm, Jean stared you down with cold, unfeeling eyes. For a woman full of purity and dignity, she shallowly declined your employment. Out of spite or out of jealousy, you couldn't tell nor could you see it. Oblivious to the cruelty of this world's citizens. That was why you decided to go against the love of your life and aim high, aim to become the thing Diluc hated: a knight of Favonius.
To help those in need without any favours returned, that's what you dreamed of, and becoming a knight was just a stepping stone. However, not being accepted by the acting grandmaster of all knights put a stop to your plans.
"Can I know why I'm unfit, Jean?" your voice wavered slightly, trying to understand where you went wrong to fix it.
Her glare was as sharp as her words, explaining all that was rightfully wrong, small and insignificant mistakes you made to prove you wrong. Her actions are vain and resentful - she knew that, but how could she not when you had all she wished for. Lisa would probably reprimand her for being so spiteful towards you, for being ruthless to a pure and innocent heart and for the tearful face she caused from all the words she spewed. The harmful and distasteful insults that she spat out with a dignified and proper tone, made her reasoning even more painful to hear. She knew you since your childhood, acquaintances through Diluc's family. She loved him and cared for him as much as you did; she was as pure as you were before your honeymoon, and she still was; she was dubbed the prettiest leading figure in Mondstadt; she was responsible and independent; and much, much more. So why? Why were you worth so much more to Diluc than she was? Was it how truly pure you looked and acted? Or maybe it was how your heart was so gentle that she just knew you would protect her from Diluc's harsh insults if he ever knew what she did to you. It could be either of those, or it could be that you had this great generosity in your soul and being that matched Diluc's fiery personality with your docile nature and caring smile. Who was she kidding, you had everything she wanted.
That's why when you came to her for help, she indulged you until the last moment when she would drop you from the high ledge she led you to; disappointing you after all the efforts you made in making connections, friends and helping gestures. Jean knew how much that would break your heart like you shattered her dreams of being with Diluc, marrying him and building a family with the man she loved.
That's why she felt no shame in her words and actions. How it became a spur of the moment driven by hate and envy, sins that corrupted her heart and rooted deep within to birth a demon of her own.
"I will not accept your candidacy, (Name). You'll have to leave disappointed in yourself and us, Knights of Favonius." Jean sat back down on her throne-like chair, looking like a king in all matters of royalty. "You can leave, now."
How cruel and brutal. She watched you leave with tear-stained cheeks, eyes puffy and red as the apples on your wet cheeks. Your fists clenched, nails piercing through the skin as you bowed politely to the acting grand master of the knights - a curious gesture even after the verbal beatdown from the leading figure.
A silent plea for help, a shoulder to cry on. That's what you needed right now. One from your husband.
With knights asking about your wellbeing to others wanting to know what happened, you brushed them off in your trail to find Diluc. Past the gates and through the streets of Mondstadt city, pushing away the worried citizens that you've helped in the past with their problems and weird requests. Mind blank and feet moving by muscle memory, you eventually arrived at Diluc's beloved tavern.
Through blurry eyes, you caught sight of Diluc's bright, fiery locks behind the counter, shaking a drink from a patron's order. He looked handsome in his area of expertise and with his hair pulled so high, unlike his usual low ponytail.
"Diluc..." your voice cracked as you called out to him, hand reaching out for him.
Orbs fleeting from his work at the familiar voice, he looked up to a scene he dreaded from the deepest parts of his heart: tears rolling down your face like waterfalls and lips puckered in a heartwrenching pout that made your brows furrow and eyes squint sorrowfully. He dropped whatever he was doing in favour of holding you in his arms. Snuggled comfortably and warmly against his chest to ward off all your pains and sorrows.
"(Name), it's alright, I'm here," he shushed you, one hand on your back and the other holding your head to his neck.
Some sober patrons inquired about your safety, but none tried to pry too deeply, this was a lover's moment. Deeming it too public to have you bawl your eyes out and howl in pain, he looked back at Charles, the second bartender :
"I'm leaving the tavern to you, we're going to the back a bit."
"Yes, Master Diluc."
Without another word uttered from the employer, he pulled you up, wrapping your legs around his waist and arms around his neck, he carried you to the storage at the back of the tavern for some much-needed privacy.
Seated on a crate with you in his lap, Diluc wiped your tears away, thumb gently massaging the skin around your puffy eyes. He wore a frown, one deeper and more concerned than his usual stoic mien.
Why wouldn't he when his darling was in tears from something he knew not?
"Darling, breathe slowly, in and out," he instructed, tone laced with worry.
Gripping his white shirt, you did as told, trying to regulate your breathing from its erratic and crying one.
"That's it, you're doing it. Take it slow, (Name)," his deep voice drowned your fears away, it calmed you down. "Good, that's it. Good work, darling."
His warm hand was rubbing your knuckles, it was soothing. His other one was helping him kiss your pearly tears away, softly and gracefully.
"Now, would you tell me what happened? Did something happen when you went to report to Jean?" he seethed at the name he uttered but tried to keep it down for your sake.
His words were soft-spoken and caring, unlike Jean's venom-laced spits.
You shook your head, not wanting to cause Jean any more problems than she already had. Your poor heart wouldn't be able to live with itself if it knew you caused more work for the sleep-deprived and workaholic knight. Although sweet, Diluc felt the opposite, he couldn't let this go without any punishment, even if he has to lie to you.
"Darling, be honest, did Jean do something to make you cry this much?" he tried again, wanting to hear an affirmation from your lips, one that would truly give him a reason to punish the blonde that hurt you.
"J-Jean didn't d-do an-any-thing," your words were mixed with hiccups and soft whimpers. "I-I just realized ho-how my cand-candidacy had so ma-ny issues w-with it."
"Is that so?" he hadn't voiced his suspicion, tone pensive and caringly warm. "What were the issues?"
"I-I- was missing s-some stuff, didn't f-feel like I helped e-enou-gh people-"
More tears leaked from your eyes, staining Diluc's clean gloves with salty water. More shushed left his thin lips that kissed your lashes and nose.
"You've helped more than all those useless knights combined, (Name). Stop doubting yourself, you've done far more than what an apprentice knight, more than a knight, would usually do in their whole lifetime. In all honesty, they don't even deserve having you in their ranks."
Diluc placed more kisses on your face and fleetingly touched your lips with his before touching the rest. He was soft and handled you with care as if you were made of fragile porcelain and glass.
"It would be better if you worked here, with me. I always feel better with you by my side, (Name). Wouldn't that sound perfect? Husband and wife, working together outside of their home. Doesn't it sound romantic?"
He knew you were a hopeless romantic and that such an offer would fluster your sweet, sweet heart. Words played well, and opinions swayed, you felt no need to decline such a proposition from Diluc. It reminded you of his proposal, poetic and blunt in its own right, but romantic all the same.
With you in his clutches 24/7, all he needed to do was find that wretched woman from the knights and discuss about her unbecoming actions.

Albedo
Alone.
These days you found yourself alone in your shared home. It had been nearly a year since the two of you decided to live together. Maybe that was a bad idea.
You were smitten. He was such an intelligent man, and truth be told you loved how his mind worked. He was silent and mostly kept to himself at first, but with you, there were subtle touches, fleeting kisses. Oh and his eyes, the way his eyes brightened or the way his lips turned up at the sight of you. The way he held you close at nights, up until the morning.
Gone were those days.
He was hardly home. The intelligent man you had fallen in love with, was also a workaholic. Perhaps you should’ve seen it coming. There were so many signs.
Maybe he changed. Maybe you changed. But the little things weren’t enough anymore. He came home just to sleep and wake up, and he was off again.
“Bedo, have you got some time off on the weekend? We haven’t been up to Starsnatch Cliff in a while,” you had prodded him a few days ago, wondering if the problem would be solved if you made the first move.
“Sorry, Y/N, we’re just about to discover more about the properties of electro crystals... It’ll be useful if we want to sustain higher energy concentrations on...” and just like that he had gone off a tangent explaining the whole thing. You smiled a little, it was still endearing how excited he got discussing those things.
But you couldn’t help but be lonely at how he seemed to love his research more than you.
‘Maybe I just need to be more proactive. That’s it! I’ll go and visit him at the lab today!’ Surprising him was one of the things that you had always wanted to do. But not a lot of things got past Albedo. He was observant like that. You made a quick run to the bakery, getting him some croissants and welcomed yourself into the Favonius Headquarters.
You looked up at the sign on his laboratory door. That sign was always there though, Klee had told you about it, and Sucrose had also talked about it once or twice before, telling you that it wouldn’t be a good idea to go in if the sign was up. But when was it ever down? So, you shrugged, and pushed the door open with a wide smile.
“What are you doing here?!” There’s a wild look in Albedo’s eyes the moment you step in. He didn’t appreciate being disturbed. You tilted your head a little at his reaction, you weren’t expecting that.
“Oh, since you’ve been so busy these days I just thought I’d drop by and give you something to--”
“Y/N, did you not see the sign on the door? No disturbances, even from you,”
“I’ll just be quick, I’m just dropping this off,” you lift the paper bag from the bakery and lay it down on the nearest table. Albedo closes his eyes with a sigh.
“...We’re working on something dangerous right now, I don’t have time to eat. Please take it back,”
Surprisingly, you obey quite quickly, and take the paper bag back into your hands. Annoyance start to pulse in your veins. “Anything else you want me to do? Maybe disappear so I don’t bother you or your research so much?”
Sucrose had been standing there the whole time, and you can see the slight wince on her face at your cold statement... But Albedo had returned it ten fold, snapping an answer back. “Yes, Y/N, that would be excellent, don’t get in the way. Stop being irritating at the wrong moment,”
You didn’t expect how much it would sting. Your shoulders slump downwards at the realization that this... had gone too far. You couldn’t take it anymore. Sucrose opens her mouth, but doesn’t know what to say looking back and forth between you and Albedo.
The Kreideprinz had continued with his task as if nothing had happened at all, but he knew what he said. He didn’t want any interferences nor accidents happening in the lab and that was the only thing he cared about at the moment.
Your foot moves to step back, but your eyes are glued to Albedo. You can only see his back. His hair tied up neatly, the shoulders that you loved to wrap your arms around and his hands that were always gentle. You took a good look, drinking the whole scene in like you hadn’t had a drop of water in days.
This was the last time you would lay eyes on him and it broke you into so many pieces. You turned away without another word, Sucrose staring at the door, before she decided that she needed to follow you. “I-I’ll be back, Master Albedo,” she rarely ever abandoned an experiment, but she knew that you needed a friend right now.
Ironic, because it should have been Albedo running after you, but instead the green-haired girl caught up to you just as you reached the fountain in the middle of Mondstadt. “Y/N!” she jogs, and stops when you do as you hear your name.
Tears prickled your cheeks, but they were more of frustration than sadness. You stand there for a moment, drying your tears and turning around towards Sucrose, gaze on the pavement. “Y/N...” Sucrose approaches carefully, hand resting on your shoulder.
“...I don’t know anything other than Albedo, Sucrose,” you start, a curtain of memories flashing through your mind. “...Without him, there isn’t much reason for me to stay in Mondstadt,” Sucrose shakes her head rather hastily. “H-He’s just... a little occupied right now, Y/N, I’m sure he doesn’t mean what he said,” You close your eyes, the scene repeating in your head.
“Anything else you want me to do? Maybe disappear so I don’t bother you or your research so much?”
“Yes, Y/N, that would be excellent, don’t get in the way. Stop being irritating at the wrong moment,”
A hard lump forms on your throat at how hard you try not to sob. How hard you try to keep yourself together and Sucrose sees it from the way your lips tremble. “Sucrose, please watch over him,” and that is also the last that Sucrose sees of you.
That night, Albedo arrives home exhausted, just as he always does. But now that he was home, he could at least expect a warm meal and a warm hug. A soft smile tugs on his lips at the thought.
When he turned the lights on, he was met with a strange stillness instead. His hand stays on the switch as his eyes scan the living room. It was...quiet. There were no plates on the table, and there were no sounds from the kitchen.
Deep in the pits of his stomach there’s an anxiety that starts bubbling up. He brushes it off, opting instead to check the kitchen. “Y/N?”
Empty.
His footsteps hasten as he opens the bedroom door, expecting you to be curled up there, asleep.
Empty.
Albedo takes in a shaky breath. You were probably just out in town, doing some late night shopping. Yeah, that’s it, perhaps you just didn’t have enough ingredients for dinner today and--his eyes land on the bedside table.
The photo frame is gone. The photo of the two of you standing side by side together with comfortable smiles on your faces, his hand on your waist, and the house on the background.
He throws open the closet doors. Your clothes are gone. Your shoes are gone. Even your scent seemed to have disappeared. The anxiety that was once a small bubble in his stomach had started to claw it’s way out, wrenching his heart in places that he didn’t know could hurt. The tears pooling in his eyes were so foreign that he didn’t even know what was happening until he hears himself gasp back a sob.
You’re gone.
Suddenly it was so hard to breathe, but he pulls himself up and out the door. There’s no way. Where would you go? Perhaps you were just around Mondstadt, trying to get a breath of fresh air to calm your nerves. He searches everywhere. The church, the tavern, the Good Hunter and even atop the rooftop of the Favonius Headquarters. There was a decent view of the city there, and his eyes roam the streets, just to get a glimpse of you.
“...Please...” There’s another lump in his throat, his eyes dart around looking for any small sign of you.
“Albedo? Tired?” you ask as he returns home one day. He merely lets out a small “Mm,” and pulls a chair out from the dining table to sit on. You walk into the kitchen to fetch him a cup of tea, and he snatches your hand to press a soft kiss on the back of it. “Thank you, love,”
“...Please!” his grip on the stone walls of the rooftop tighten. His vision blurs.
“Al! Don’t do that!” you try to swat his hand away from the pot, a short laugh coming off of your lips at how mischievous he could be sometimes, trying to dip his finger into the sauce. He has a grin on his face as he successfully tastes the sauce off his finger, making a sound of approval as he draws you in for a light kiss on your forehead, “It’s good, as always,”
His legs buckle, and he finds himself on his knees, hands fisted upon the cold stone wall. “At least tell me where you've gone! I can’t--” he doesn’t know when the last time he cried was, but whenever it was, he doesn’t remember it to be this bad. The pain was unlike any injury he had, it grasped so tightly at his heart.
“Anything else you want me to do? Maybe disappear so I don’t bother you or your research so much?”
“Yes, Y/N, that would be excellent, don’t get in the way. Stop being irritating at the wrong moment,”
He furiously shakes his head because he knows that it was his fault. “I didn’t mean it, please give them back,” as if there was someone else who took you away. As if there was a God listening to him right now.
He realizes that the worst of it was not that you had left, but that you had left no traces of you behind. No photo. Not a piece of clothing. Not a trace of your existence.
Nothing for him to hold on to.
That night, he dragged himself back home. Face flushed and hot from the tears he had shed and the ones he was attempting to hold back.
That night, he painfully got into bed.
Alone.

love me
albedo x gn!reader
obsessive, deranged behaviour, you reject him and he copes in an unhealthy way
a/n: i didn’t think i’d be writing this type of content but i randomly thought about it while at the dentist so
also this isn’t very long but i put it utc just in case, spoilers for albedos backstory
“i’m sorry, albedo. i don’t feel the same.”
you watched as the hope drained out of his eyes, his comfortable expression that was full of love sliding down his face. his smile faltering as his eyes drop to the ground.
“oh, i see. is there any way to change your mind? please?” he asks. it wasn’t usual to see albedo this desperate, it felt strange.
“no. sorry, i’ve only ever seen you as a close friend. we’re only co-workers, albedo.”
you didn’t expect it to be this way. the two of you had grown close due to an assignment you solved together a year ago. ever since then, albedo had always asked you for assistance with investigations, despite the fact that he was the captain.
you two were the closest of friends, and you never thought about it as any more than that.
albedo, however, did. he fell in love with you, everything about you. he was so infatuated with you, you were more interesting than anything and anyone he had ever encountered.
leading to one simple conclusion; he needed you. you were to be his, and he were to be yours. it was destined to be, why couldn’t you see it as easy as he could?
“i do wish we can remain friends after this.” you broke the silence with a sad expression. albedo swallowed down his thoughts, “of course. something as irrational as this should not get in between our friendship.”
you smiled, apologizing once again before heading back to the city of mondstadt.
except, it wasn’t irrational. nothing about it was irrational. you were being irrational and nonsensical for not being able to see it. was it not clear to you that what you two had was more than just friendship?
he needed to think of something, anything that will finally help you realize the love you two obviously have for each other.
weeks later, you guys remain friends. it was as if nothing changed, nothing happened. as much as albedo is relieved you hadn’t stopped talking to him, he is still losing his mind over your rejection. no matter how much you’ve already moved on.
“i’m conducting a new experiment.”
you turn to him, tilting your head in curiosity. “really? what about the one you’re working on right now?”
“i’m still working on that one, but this one is equally, if not, more important.” he answered, you chuckle in response, “you must need me to get you materials if you’re telling me about it.”
“correct. i only need you to get me a few things.”
the materials he needed were not as you expected if you were being honest. but, you assumed it was for the sake of science, which is the only reason you would comply.
albedo is your best friend, and if a few locks of your hair and a sample of your blood is what he needed, you would give it to him.
“what is this for again?”
“i’m studying dna, and the differences between those of us human beings. my body is artificially made, therefore i am unable to use my own. you know this.” albedo explained, “this is also to help sucrose’s research as a bio-alchemist. i hope you don’t mind.”
you nodded, “no worries! i’m happy to help.”
after the exchange, you left. heading back down to mondstadt to continue your duties as a knight of favonius.
albedo is a master of many things. everyone knew this, he was a genius in alchemy and investigation, making broad discoveries that soon change the future of the nation. what people didn’t know, was that he was also a master at lying.
albedo chooses not to lie, what was the point in lying? it was pathetic, really.
so when you ask sucrose about the dna samples and how her research is doing days later, she had no choice but to give you a questioning look. curious as to what you might be speaking about.
meanwhile, hoards of formulas crowd albedo’s head as he jots down several notes.
i’ll improve them, rid of the impurities.
albedo is a genius. thanks to your rejection, he came up with a genius plan.
i’ll make them love me the way they are supposed to.
a/n: okay this was kinda stupid, ooc and probably not how alchemy works but shut
don’t be afraid to send in requests! interaction appreciated <3
edit: how did i forget the tags

I just read your story, the one with Xiao and Albedo, its really good! I love it! Is it ok if you do the same thing but with Kaeya, Zhongli, Childe and Diluc version. I can see how excited these guys are since Kaeya first appeared is clapping his hand, the way Childe call Lumine 'Hey Girlie', Zhongli with how handsome he is especially his eyes and with Diluc how mysterious he is when he appeared out of nowhere
Feel free to do it if you're not busy or you can ignore this :3
reader impact || first meeting cont.
series masterlist characters: kaeya, diluc, childe genre: fluff summary: a game has been released entitled genshin impact, consisting of otherworldly abilities relying on the basic elements of nature. the game follows the story of an interdimensional traveling twin in search of their other half. along this journey, they meet different characters that live in this world. including you. notes: i’m glad you liked it! i’m having a lot of fun writing these so expect some more coming out :D i plan on doing more first meeting hcs and then branching off to other scenarios, so if there’s something specific, please request it! also, i’ve already done one for zhongli!
kaeya's playthrough -
he's more of a variety streamer, honestly.
most of his viewers watch him because of his carefree nature (as well as his looks).
obviously, he'd do a bunch of drinking streams whenever he could where he would just talk to his viewers about whatever came to mind.
during those streams, his viewers often try to ask him questions, which are only answered in vague statements.
his gaming streams are pretty rare compared to his chatting streams, but they're there nonetheless.
his viewers jump when they hear he's planning on playing genshin impact.
just neverending messages about a character they are convinced he will love.
he's so tempted to ask but decides not to, wanting to learn who this mystery character is on his own.
honestly, he was expecting you to appear way later in the story.
he's very interested in the looming threat of stormterror.
his character lands on the ground and he leans back to watch the cutscene play.
then he hears footsteps and sees his character look to someone offscreen.
this man practically LUNGES INTO HIS MONITOR WHEN THE CAMERA PANS UP TO YOU.
you walk in clapping at a calculated pace, which is when he leans forward and stares at your character model.
"i can't believe you have the power to stand up against that dragon... that said, are you a new ally... or a new storm?"
"oh, hun, i can be whatever you want me to be."
HE'S ALREADY FLIRTING WITH YOU PLEASE HIS CHAT IS IN HYSTERICS-
he knows his chat is freaking out, so he turns to the camera and sends his signature smirk.
"now i know why you guys wanted me to play this so bad."
"(name), kaeya, you've come at the right time. we must..."
"now now, don't forget to introduce us."
"oh... right. this is (name), our cavalry captain. these two are travelers from afar."
"ooh, they're a person in charge, too?"
HE KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING TO HIS CHAT BUT THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU DO TO HIM.
he genuinely likes you. like genuinely. he's fallen deep and he doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon.
if your costume has that long v-neck like his does...
hOO BOY HE'S THANKING EVERY DEVELOPER OF THIS GAME.
anyway, he's heard that there are characters you can only obtain throguh wishes, so he's kind of nervous to find out if that's the case with you.
he just really wants you in his party so y'all can be mysterious together.
"let me show you how the knights of favonius conquer our adversaries!"
"oh, yes. please do."
his viewers can and will make compilations of him flirting with you.
ngl, he's looking forward to those.
sometimes, your voice gets all quiet and he melts when he hears that.
he will pay to have voicelines of you flirting with him--
when he enters your trial domain, he will purposely avoid completing it just in case he doesn't get to keep you.
he sees some of his viewers talking about how you're a bad character and that the other characters are so much better.
too bad, they're banned now.
no (name) slander in his chat, thank you very much.
he loves your quips whenever he uses your elemental skill.
he loves you even more if those quips are puns based on your element.
finally, he's nearing the end of your domain. when that happens, he will slowly turn towards the camera and stare.
"if they aren't a permanent member on my team, this'll be the last stream of genshin."
"let's continue our adventure, shall we?"
obtained (name): a thinker in the knights of favonius with a somewhat exotic appearance.
"okay, so we'll continue streaming genshin soon."
he'll put you in the first slot of his party, moving his traveler character to the second.
his streams will always include him flirting with you, even if you don't reply.
diluc's playthrough -
his streams are mainly bartending based, so he likes mixing drinks on stream for his viewers.
he doesn't drink them, though. he gives them out to his friends and family once the stream is over.
it's pretty rare for him to play games but he'll do an occasional gaming stream if his friends and family don't want any drinks.
his chat always makes fun of him because he's a bartender that doesn't like the taste of alcohol.
he's very blunt, so he's not afraid to drop a game immediately if he isn't interested.
in fact, that's almost what he did with genshin.
it's not like the game is bad or anything, diluc just didn't care for it because of all the hype his chat shared.
he keeps playing, though, because someone promised he would really enjoy a character that comes up in the prologue.
granted, it's over an hour or so but it doesn't matter--
when he gets to the domain teaching him how to use cryo, he hates every minute of it.
he hates the character he's given and just wants to leave.
the demo character is one he doesn't really care for, especially because he's the type of person he dislikes coming to the bars he works at.
his chat is laughing at him when they reach the end because the cutscene continues with the character he hates.
he feels a bit better when he learns the abyss mage is in the domain because he gets to see and hear something that isn't the cryo character.
then he meets you.
you run into the domain out of nowhere, quickly defeating the abyss mage and tossing it towards the corner.
"knights of favonius... always so inefficient."
his chat goes insane when your character appears, especially because of how dumbfounded diluc looks.
he's known for not really emoting and it's the same case for this scene. however, his chat knows he is in love with your character.
he takes a few minutes when he's kicked out of the domain but he clears his throat and looks over at the camera.
"i'll be streaming this game again soon when the others don't want any drinks."
YOU SINGLEHANDEDLY SAVED THIS GAME FROM BEING TOSSED AWAY WITHIN A MINUTE OF APPEARING
THE POWER YOU HOLD OVER THIS MAN AND HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW YOUR NAME--
cut to after he's stolen the lyre and is sent to the tavern.
he's a bit excited because he gets to visit mondstadt's tavern but then--
"master (name), this is this week's accounts."
"they're back."
HE'S SO NONCHALANT BUT WE ALL KNOW HE'S FREAKING OUT
he gets second-hand embarrassment when venti talks to you asking for the... least conspicuous table.
he's kinda sad when your character is suspicious of him, but he understands.
when the knights leave the tavern, he really wants venti to just shut up.
please you're embarrassing the man.
when he hears how you feel about him joining the knights, he is so willing to quit--
man just wants you to be proud of him and trust him :((
he's relieved to hear that you will help him and you don't hate him.
please give him validation--
childe's playthrough -
man is still rich he can do whatever he wants.
his gaming streams would definitely be pvp based games. honestly, just any game where he can fight someone, he'll play.
his chat also has a few little games they like to play together like guessing what the hell this man does to have so much money--
also his siblings crash in on his streams sometimes :D
those are pretty much the only times you'll see him be soft and not so competitive.
teucer likes crashing his streams to show off his plushies :))
anyway, genshin time!
he definitely tried to fight paimon the first time he loaded the game.
please expect lots of genshin stream from this guy because he needs to make his team deal the highest damage he can get.
also his wallet doesn't even have a dent in it despite all of the money he's spent on characters and weapons.
please sir what do you do for all that money
ok so onto your first meeting
he was really excited when the exuvia fell during the rite of descension because he thought he would get to fight whoever killed the great archon of liyue.
he really wanted to fight the millelith but then his chat convinced him to dodge them first.
one of his viewers explains that there's a character they know he'll like and he was very... intriguied to say the least.
he moves forward in his chair once his character is heard by the millelith, prepared to fight the various soldiers surrounding him.
"hang on, sweetheart. i've got this."
this man will squeal when you flip over the stairs in front of his character.
he doesn't know who you are and what you do but he knows for a fact that you are his new favorite character.
you take down all of the guards in two seconds, leaving him (and his in-game character) dumbfounded.
"come with me."
"o-okay..."
he's smitten.
he absolutely loves the way your character fights even if he met you about... a minute ago.
his siblings definitely come into his room to check on him because he's so quiet.
once he realizes you're a part of the harbingers, he's even more obsessed.
he hates the options the game gives him when he needs to respond because 2/3 of them are insulting you.
anyway he really likes listening to your voice.
he will give anything to hear you call him sweetheart again.
his chat informs him that the traveler he chose changed the nickname you give him, which makes him very happy.
when you send him off to talk to the other adepti, he's kind of disappointed he doesn't get to hang out with you.
but when he gets back to you...
"welcome back, sweetheart. how was your trip to jueyun karst?"
HE'S SOFT ALL OVER AGAIN PLEASE KEEP CALLING HIM SWEETHEART!!!
when he learns you're rich just like him... he gets all pouty. his chat, of course, wants to know why.
"... i want to be able to spoil her."
PLEASE HE'S SO IN LOVE WITH YOU <3

Tumblr media
Alatus was once told a story by his Master. A sinner who falls into hell is rewarded for his only good deed, choosing not to kill a spider. As his reward, a thread is lowered down for him to climb out of Hell. In the end, the sinner remains in Hell because he kicks aside others and the thread breaks. Alatus doesn't remember why his Master told him this story but he still empathizes with the sinner. He would have done the same or asked for this 'saviour' to extend their hand down instead. That way he could pull them down.
"Xiao? Are you okay?"
He slowly opens his jade eyes to see you hunch over, peering down above him, eyebrows furrowed together in concern as you reach down and softly tap his temple. He allows you to take a moment to do whatever you want with his face before he reaches up to grasp at your wrist gently, holding back on his want to rub circles into your skin. His reminiscing can wait for now.
"What is it?" he asks curtly, sitting up and resting his elbow on his raised knee. You pout at his curt tone but shrug it off as you take a seat next to him and lean your shoulder against his. You dig into your bag and pull out slips of commission papers and hand it over to him to read through what needed to be done today. A few Hilichurl camps needed to be taken care of, sabotaging a slime balloon, all tasks that seem mundane to someone who fought in a war. As he's preoccupied, you take a moment to look at Xiao's face. He's just the slightest bit unnerved whenever you do this because you always seem to know what's bothering someone.
"Were you dreaming of her again?" you ask quietly. The silence is a good enough answer but you nod understandingly. You never knew his Master personally but you did fight a long strenuous battle against her. From one look you could tell she was a manipulative and cruel woman. While it may not be very kind to say, you were glad that with her passing, Xiao would be free from her physically. But mentally...there were still some things to work out. But Xiao was a very reclusive person, especially with his emotions, so pushing him any further would only make him irritated and closed off.
"Venti and Zhongli are joining our party for a bit if that’s alright. They'll help out a lot with our commissions and travelling. I like Liyue a lot but climbing mountains stresses my shoulders out," you laugh as you change the subject to something less depressing. Standing up as you dust your clothes off before turning to Xiao and holding your hand out for him to take. He stares at it hard for a few moments before huffing and reaching over to clasp your hands together.
Tumblr media
It has been so frustratingly peaceful since the war ended. He's not used to it and he can still feel the lick of cutting winds and the heavy pressure of rocks against his body when he sees the bard and funeral parlor consultant just on the horizon. If it were up to him, he wouldn't play nice with these two Archons but they're important to you so he bites his tongue until he tastes blood. He knows the Archons do the same. As soon as the two of them spot you both, Venti is already rushing and tackling you to the ground in his excitement.
"Traveler! I haven't seen you in ages. You need to come and visit Mondstadt more," Venti cried into your shoulder as you awkwardly patted him on his back. Always with the dramatics but you cared about Venti all the same. Xiao scoffed before flicking his jade eyes to meet gold as Zhongli stared down at him cautiously. Since the war ended, everyone seemed to have this warped idea that Alatus had some vendetta against the Gods and Celestia but he was fighting because he was told to.
"Xiao. It's good to see you again," Zhongli said to him. Xiao just nodded in acknowledgement. Even with this new mortal form, Morax never bothered to change his eyes. His gaze alone held the weight of the mountains he had thrown. If Xiao hadn’t been under one of them before, he might have crumbled under the pressure.
"Alright alright, Venti. I promise I'll drop by sometime this month but we still have commissions to do!" you laugh as you haul the bard onto his feet and swat his cape down from the speckles of dirt. He grins cheekily at you, linking pinkies with you to seal your promise, before suddenly lighting up as if he just remembered something.
"Actually! Before we start anything, I need to speak to Mr. Zhongli and Xiao. Super important archon things, you know?" Venti nodded to himself as the two mentioned people stared at him with varying levels of confusion. But Venti just waved their worries off and linked his arms with both men as he dragged them off to a more secluded corner with a surprising amount of strength, “We’ll be right back!”
"Do what you need to do but don't take too long," you called after the trio as you trailed off to the side, messing with your bag of commission papers and gear. Xiao hated that. He knows that these two Archons are your...friends.. but shouldn't you be a bit more cautious? Just because they have mortal forms doesn’t make them human, it doesn’t make him human either.
"Hey, there's no need to look so scary. There really is something important I wanted to talk to the two of you about," Venti speaks up as soon as you're out of earshot. It still gives Xiao whiplash whenever he drops the persona and switches back to Barbatos. "Since Morax is the only Archon I trust with this information and, while I don't trust you one bit, you're the one that's with her all the time you should also know. She's ascending to Celestia."
Barbatos gauges both of their reactions. Morax seems visibly surprised, his eyes slightly widened a fraction, while Xiao has no idea what that means. His Master didn’t exactly give him a history lesson on Celestia or Archons, just pointed to who was his enemy and dealt punishments when he failed.
"And what the hell does that mean?" Xiao asks as he crosses his arms. Venti appears for a second as the bard pouts before continuing.
"It's like I said. A mortal who performs great, heroic feats can ascend to Celestia and achieve godhood. Where they will watch over their people from above. I've only seen this once before so it took me a while to recognize the signs. But 1000 years ago, I helped a woman named Vennessa with her ascension and with the traveler's recent actions with winning the war. Well, you don't need me to explain the rest," Barbatos finishes. Zhongli simply hums as he cups his chin and absorbs what's just been heard. He doesn’t seem troubled by the news at all.
"Have you told her about this?" Zhongli questions as he looks towards the direction that you left. Venti shakes his head. “That would mean that she would vanish from this world."
“I know she loves this world. Whether she wishes to ascend or not isn’t my choice but I want her to continue her travels with that beloved smile on her face. But if she does choose to ascend, she will need our help," Venti stares at the two of them in a mix of pride, sadness, and determination. "Can I count on you two for your help?"
It's a complete white noise in Xiao's ears as his surroundings fade out. He thinks he can see Zhongli nod to Venti wishes, the ever calm smile on his face to match the cheery grin on Venti’s. What, now you want to become a God? Leave this world behind? That’s not funny. You made him give up everything. While in your eyes, your blinded hero syndrome, you think you've liberated him from a soulless conquest but he still has nothing. You still took everything away from him and your only compensation was to have him by your side until he left himself. But now you want to leave without a warning? That’s not fair. You don’t get to take back what you owe. He won't allow you to leave him behind.
Tumblr media
“Did something happen? Did Venti say something unnecessary again?” you ask out of the blue. Zhongli and Venti had returned to their respective regions once your commissions were all finished. Since the three of them disappeared to talk Archon business, Xiao had seemed even more tense and aloof than usual. As if he was out of it? You knew that everyone was still suspicious of Xiao and they were angsty to leave you alone with him, but you knew Xiao would never do anything to hurt you. When he doesn't answer, you slowly reach over and you subtly nudge his head up onto your lap and look at him curiously. Before reaching down and cupping his cheek. He leans into your touch before turning his face into your palm and leaving a soft kiss. It makes you giggle at the ticklish feeling as you look at him so softly. It annoys him.
"You were never connected to the war and yet you fought against us anyways. Even when I killed so many people, why did you choose to spare me?" he asked as you blinked at him before giving it some serious thought. He went on a rampage and almost destroyed the world. It was fun. He doesn't have any regrets at all because he hated humanity. His own Master was human after all. But then you appeared and stopped him. A random outsider that wanted to play the hero. He thought it was cute. Perhaps he had underestimated the lengths someone would go to to save the world they loved but when he fell defeated at your feet. He said that this wouldn't change a single thing. He would still scorn humanity and what they did to him. He was so sure he would die there but you chose to extend your hand down to him instead despite what your companions felt. Even when the war ended and he had nowhere else to go, you offered him to travel with you. Nothing changed about his mentality, every person that chose to talk to him was quickly scared away with piercing eyes. Every conversation started would end in silence. Every touch would be met by the tip of his spear. But you would link your hands together with his and smile brightly, and he would always end up forgetting his trauma for a moment. You’ve... become precious to him.
"I love this world and everyone in it. You are a part of that world even if you tried to destroy it. It...didn't seem fair to leave you behind when you've suffered just as much," you finish but it only seemed to spark a wave of deep anger inside of Xiao. He quickly lurched up, almost knocking your forehead with his, before grabbing the scruff of your shirt collar and yanking you forward.
"Cut it out with that "love of everything" crap. It's revolting. So you're saying the people I killed weren't worth avenging? Do you think I'm so weak that I need protection? It's one thing to try and please everyone but at least have some awareness would you?" he snarled as he pushed you to the ground. He knew he was being harsh on you and you had every right to walk out and abandon him but you didn't. Of course, you wouldn't. You needed him as much as he needed you. You just reached over and tenderly reached your hand and placed it next to his. Damn it, why is he always the one stuck worrying about you.
"Then you want to protect me, right? Then don't break your promise. You left me alive which means you have a duty to live for me," he takes your hand in his and squeezes hard. Digging his nails into your own until crescents appear and tiny specks of blood appear so you know he's serious. He doesn't care how you interpret his words, just so long as you never leave him.
"Don't die on me, Hero."
Tumblr media
It's been a few hours since the conversation so it's pitch black outside but Xiao was never one to sleep. Even if he could, his mind is too loud to fall asleep too. He's startled when you melt against him fully asleep. Honey smooth as you curl up to his warmth and cling to him like moss to a rock. He can feel his cheeks start to flush as his heart begins to pound against his chest. He can't breathe as his world is filtered through each beat that drums against his ears. He's not sure if there's actually something wrong with him or if it's just been a while since someone got so close and his instincts haven't left.
He's just realized it. He's feeling pain. The feeling in his chest is black but he can't claw it away. It's strange in a way that he can't explain it, that he's never felt before, that he's never felt the need to experience. His life had been warped by battle and a constant push to submit to his Master. They are all things he knows but the gentle words that come from your mouth, the bright eyes that hold the world, the horrible ice-hot feeling inside of him is so foreign yet too easy. He doesn't like it.
It makes him feel...clean in a way. Enlightened perhaps? His Master is long gone and it's like you said. He's free now. Free to make his own decisions and live his life how he wants to. He carefully turns over so as to not startle you away as he really looks at you. You look so peaceful in his arms, eyelids shut without worry, face slack without nightmares, breathing so softly against him. If you weren't so close to him that he couldn't feel the rise of your chest, he wonders if he would think you were dead. He stares at the lock of hair swaying back and forth with each breath like a starved man. The strange feeling doesn't stop. He hates it. It's everything that goes against him and what he knows and everything he should want. He's supposed to be the villain in your story, he should kill you right now-
"Xiao..." he hears you mumble beside him as you lean further into his arm. Damn it. How low is he going to go?
“What are you thinking about now? You just need to think about me. Don’t think about anything else...but me” Xiao sighs before he wraps his arms around you and pulls you into him until you're snug against his chest. Close to him, where he can touch you, where you belong. Not with Morax or Barbatos. Not with humans but beside him. He closes his eyes and nuzzles his head into your hair and he stares off into the distance. The feeling never leaves him for the remainder of the night.
Tumblr media
"Ah! There you are. I was running around crazy looking for you," he turns his hair to see your flushed form pulling yourself up onto the mountain cliff, "When I woke up I couldn’t find you anywhere! You gave me a scare there."
He hates you. He hates you.
Words of his previous master ring in his ears, almost as if her very soul is wrapping around him as she whispers in his ear how weak he is. Ones with power that refuse to take what they want because they rather live in the comfort of nothing. Be greedier, take what belongs to you.
"Xiao?" you say as his piercing eyes stare directly through you. His Master always told him that she loved him. Even if he hated her he still clung to that false love. Of being wanted. Isn't love for a single person vile? Would feeling such emotions for one person instead of "everyone" bring you down to reality? It's not fair that you've crawled your way into his heart while you walk along in bliss. Now that he thinks about it. It was so simple. He just needs to monopolize your thoughts and love. This time it won't be as friends.
"I love you."
He'll pull you down to where he is. You extended your hand down to hell so it's your fault. He'll drag you down kicking and screaming if he has to. You left him alive. You have to live for him and by him. He's not letting go.

Here's the other: How'd they react to their S/O who cherishes their gift given by their beloved so much, that one day the gift was destroyed by a hilichurl and they went so livid they practically fought the creatures to death and threw them to a lake somewhere, and sulked the whole how they don't deserve them anymore cuz of how careless they were. For Razor, Albedo and Xiao 👉👈

he made you a paw-shaped clay sculpture!
it was cute and small, fitting right into the palm of your hands
to others—it may look like some worn-down toy, but to you, it was a good luck charm from the ever-cute razor
but perhaps, it wasn’t quite the clay-shape that you held close to your heart... no, it was the strenuous effort razor put into sculpting the paw
you remember it vividly. how the boy would dig his hands into mud and sit under the burning sun, carving the dirt with his bare fingers as he hid the gift from your sight
so when a good-for-nothing hilichurl decides razor’s paw-shape charm was a nice pebble for hot potato... boy were you livid
Patting the ground beside you, [e/c] eyes widened upon the feeling of nothing but grass.
What...? Peering over, you stared blankly at the empty space, comical arrows pointing at the now-gone charm you had received from Razor. Just where was it? You swore it was right beside you...
And as if Barbatos were laughing at you, the wind blew, burning your eyes as the sight of mitachurls and hilichurls danced around the fire in the distance, tossing what looked like a rock into the air.
Ah.
You blinked.
That was the charm Razor made.
first of all... how did the hilichurl get it? the charm was literally right beside you!
agh, whatever.
you’ll just retrieve it. easy, right?
no.
first of all, your power would literally turn the lush grass into a desolate canyon (not really). second of all, you’d probably end up destroying the paw in your rampage
hah...
—if the hilichurl didn’t destroy it first
Materializing your weapon, you couldn’t help but hope that the paw had miraculously survived the impact of a hilichurl throwing it against the floor.
Hah, what were you thinking? Of course it didn’t... physics just didn’t allow it.
But you know what physics did allow? Why, beating these enemies to a pulp, of course!
once you floored the hilichurls, you quickly scrambled as to look for signs of the paw anywhere
berating yourself as to how utterly foolish you were for letting it go and leaving it unguarded in the first place, you stared in defeat at the sight of crumbled clay and hardened dirt in the grass of the hilichurl camp
why? why were you so careless? seriously, how did this happen? if you had just kept it in your backpack like a regular person, razor’s hard-earned hours and craft would still be as grand as ever-
“[y/n]?”
Blinking, you hadn’t realized you had been sulking in the midst of this hilichurl camp. [E/C] eyes lifted up, widening once they had landed on none other than Razor, his crimson eyes like the agates that littered Dragonspine, his hair as grey as stormclouds.
“Ah... Razor...” You smiled in exasperation, staring at anywhere but said boy. How could you face him after watching his clay paw get destroyed by some measly hilichurls?
“Are you okay?” He asked, glancing around at the scene before him. The grass wilted, the camp that he remembered being obnoxiously loud and disturbing was silent and empty.
“Yeah, no biggie,” Waving off his concern, you began to walk away, your heart sinking with each step.
First, you let his gift get destroyed. Second, you walk away from him.
You were such a terrible partn—
“[Y/N]?” Razor’s voice cut through the air, a tension you had created solely on the thoughts of your own mind. Gripping your wrist with a tender touch, you didn’t fail to notice the way his eyes drooped down ever so slightly.
“Did I... make lupical mad?”
Gulping, you quickly waved your hands in front of your face, eyes widened as you tried to carefully explain the series of events that had just led down to this very moment.
“I—well, you see, your uh, paw-clay-thingy... I was careless and I—“
“Break it while hunting?” Razor answered, tilting his head as his hold merely stayed still, not wavering for a second, as if you were a boar in his hands.
“Ah...”
Razor was much better at observation than you had thought.
“It’s okay. I make more for lupical,” Razor nodded, already beginning to pace over to a pond as he dipped his gloved hands into the water, wafting around for dirt as you rushed up behind him.
“Wait! But I was careless... you don’t need to make ano—“
“It’s for lupical. Lupical close, I give lupical gift that never break.”
Everlasting—that was what he wanted to make.
And a part of you couldn’t help but agree.
Tumblr media
albedo, in all of his alchemy prowess, made you an artificial flower
how? don’t ask him. he’ll spew some lengthy thesis and paragraph about the fundamentals, the research, the prototype, the testing, the—
ahem, anyways!
you had never intended to bring it outside. but one day, you had left your camp under the supervision of barbatos (wow go barbatos) and ventured off to fetch some materials
and when you came back? you were met with the sight of hilichurls and slimes raving around your tent
what the—
“I...I’m hallucinating,” You deadpanned, slapping your wrist at the sight of pyro slimes and masked hilichurls dancing around your tent, the inside of your humble abode moving around as if it were possessed.
And the cherry on top? A pyro abyss mage emerged, the flower floating besides it. But oh boy, it was no flower anymore... it was a flaming flower.
At that moment, you were left to ponder. Maybe, just maybe, you kinned a whopperflower at that point. Because oh boy did your temper and sanity explode on those little enemies, the way your blade sunk into their forms—
you were already planning your apology to albedo. he trusted you and loved you enough to make an artificial flower for you... and yet, it so pitifully crumbled at your touch
okay, not quite your touch. but it crumbled at the ugly pyro abyss mage’s touch
so, as any good s/o would do, you sulked while rebuilding your camp. it’s okay. as long as albedo didn’t know his creation was charred, all would be well. besides! he was quite a busy man! chances were low that he’d discover!
busy, he was, observant, he is
perhaps, you should’ve known
“Ah... hi Albedo,” You winced, opening your tent to smile at the alchemist who merely stared at you.
“You were gone for a while. Is everything okay?” He noted, remembering your absence from visiting his own camp at Dragonspine. As an alchemist, he knew what it was like being holed up in a camp. But for two weeks? Even he needed breaks.
“Well, you see... I was out... gathering materials! Yes!” You gave him a weak thumbs-up, wailing internally once his piercing azure eyes trailed around your camp, noting that nothing looked new.
“You don’t need to lie to me, [Y/N]. Is something the matter?”
“I’m sorry!” You cut off, clapping your hands together in a prayer-like position, guilt welling up in the pit of your stomach.
“...Why?”
“Your flower—I left it unsupervised and it was set aflame and I’m so so so sor—“
“Don’t be.”
Mouth dropping, you stared up at the male, an amused expression painting his face like the canvases he dedicated to you.
“At least you were not hurt while it was set aflame. Come, I’ll show you how to make some more,” Opening your tent for you all the way, Albedo held a hand out to you, eyes flickering in mirth.
“And next time, don’t try to run away from your problems.”
“You cheeky littl—“ A blush of both embarrassment and fluster formed on your face, shocked at his sudden remark.
Tumblr media
he made you an adepti amulet
enhanced with super-cool-adepti-no-mortal-can-have power, xiao had informed you that all you needed to do was hold up the amulet and it’d scare any kind of enemies away!
cool, right? too bad you left it unattended while fighting the irritable anemo cube! now it’s at the bottom of the sea <3
how did this happen, exactly? well... you see... when wind picks up and becomes strong... light-weight objects will fly up into the air!
and sometimes, those light weight objects will fall into the sea, and sometimes, those objects would be gifts from your adeptus boyfriend who was waiting for you back at wangshu inn—
ahem. anyways. you beat the crap out of the anemo cube (aka, beth. aka, tornado cube. aka, cube waifu)
I should just... not go back to Wangshu Inn today. Haha... I’ll go ask Katheryne for a commission... You nodded, stuffing the turquoise shards of wind into your pockets, your bags filled with mora and enhancement ores being thrown off the side of the cliff.
—Along with the adepti amulet Xiao had made for you.
Seriously... you still had to wonder just how that happened! One second, you were avoiding getting sucked up by the vent of the anemo cube... and the next, your bag was traveling the world!
Can’t have shit in Teyva—
Trekking back to Mondstadt in defeat, you were innocently oblivious to the worry of the Yaksha back in Liyue.
are they okay? do they need help? did they go to dragonspine? all these questions spun around xiao’s head as he watched the moon rise, his mask dissipating into the wind
you told him you’d return tonight... yet you hadn’t. and a part of him had wished you hadn’t left liyue, so he had at least some control over whatever dangers dared to attack you
but, he knew you were strong. why else would he love you, anyway? he does not find appeal in being the savior 24/7
so, he waits. atop the balcony of wangshu inn, across the stars and moon, he prays to his archon, wishing—no, hoping you arrive safely
And—you did. You arrived back at Wangshu Inn.
... Three weeks later.
“You’re late. Very late,” Xiao’s voice blared in your ears, a blessing and a curse all at the same time. You didn’t know how to tell him the amulet was thrown off a cliff—but at the same time, you really wanted to run your fingers through his hair.
“Haha... sorry about that,” You laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of your head as Xiao merely grumbled, appearing before you with a piercing stare.
“Where were you? You did not even send me a letter.”
“I’m sorry... it’s just... eh... well...” You looked away, your heart churning against your ribs as Xiao extended his index finger out, tilting your chin to face him.
“What?” He asked, his tone harsh yet soft, longing yet logical.
“I uh... kind of... lost your adepti amulet... I’m sorry.”
He blinked.
“You waited three weeks to tell me that?” He asked in disbelief, almost in disappointment. Seriously, he was an adeptus! A Yaksha, at that! He could’ve just made another one for you... But nooo... you decided to wait three weeks in the land of the free (America?) and then worry him to death.
“Mortals...” Xiao muttered under his breath, crossing his arms with a huff as he turned his head away, the wind picking up.
“Hey, wait! Aren’t you going to say anything? Like a disappointed lecture or something?”
“No.”
Disappearing, you facepalmed, already pulling out some sweetflowers and milk to whip up some almond tofu.
Damn that adeptus. Who was he to tug your heartstrings like that?
You sighed, sitting beside a cooking pot as lingering yellow eyes watched your form, their irises softening at the sight.

soulmates!
soulmate!au because im weak. you're weak too.
characters: bennett, zhongli, diluc ➡ mentions: barbara, lisa, guizhong, hu tao, kaeya, crepus warning(s): bennett luck (he gets hurt a lot), wrote this at 2:48am so my writing may or may not make sense
bennett: feels the same emotions from the other, but the emotions have to be strong and genuine
he never understood your sudden bursts of sadness. it would come at the most inconvenient at times.
for as long as he could remember, the emotions that weren't his are mostly sad. he asked his dads about it and gently told him his soulmate system is feeling emotions from the other.
after crying from an unknown pain, he made it his soul purpose to constantly be happy all the time, no matter how unlucky he could be so you can be happy too.
his dads worry when he falls down and scrapes his knee, but he would always reply with, "i'm not hurt! my soulmate is hurt!"
he would then clutch the fabric on his chest tightly, like he's been stabbed with a sword and say, "my soulmate hurts right here."
he heaves a breath, "it doesn't compare to whatever luck i get."
"this pain is bearable," he convinces himself when he comes out a hilichurl camp in cuts and bruises.
"your soulmate needs you to be happy for them," he chastises himself for shedding a tear when another adventurer wronged him.
he visits barbara to heal his wounds and asks how she always looks so... happy, so smiley.
"all it takes is one smile to make yourself happy. it can be a slow process but it works!" she singsongs, "miss lisa showed me a study about it."
ever since barbara explained, he smiles the brightest of smiles in mondstadt. he refuses to let other adventurers let him down, worried he might hurt you more than it is.
soon, he finds out that he feels no sadness coming from you. he feels no weight on his shoulders. he feels happy after Good hunter ran out of food for him.
these are not my emotions, he thinks, a wide grin creeping it's way to his face.
he lets out the loudest laugh, giggles, and various joyous noises. he's never felt so happy in his life. for once, he feels lucky, because for once, you're finally happy in the other end of his invisible red string of fate.
his luck skyrockets when he sees a person around his age, with a gorgeous smile adorning their features. he knows its you, sitting by the fountain making wishes. he knows it's you when he sees your eyes that hold so much emotion.
it was as if his heart was tugging him to where you sat.
he's never felt so lucky to have you as his soulmate.
"thank you giving the best smiles"
zhongli: every time he passes his soulmate, he hears the sounds of bells ringing
now, zhongli never thought he would have a soulmate because of his past title of 'archon.' soulmate systems are a tricky thing. he knows there are so many ways to know your soulmate system.
the common system was their first words tattooed on themselves. many others had the ability to know when they meet them, in other words, a count down.
but zhongli never had those two, nor did he have faith in the soulmate system until the lantern rite festival.
walking by the busy streets, he muses to himself how pretty liyue is under the blanket of the moon and stars. he hears the merchants call to customers, attracting and waving at them to buy their products. he hears the clink of the mora in their bag is loud; the laughter from the children young and old marry a soft smile to his face.
he freezes, hearing something that should not belong in the lantern rite. the sound of bells ringing. it isn't any cow bell, or school bell. it's the sound of echoing, melodious wedding bells ringing his ear.
he vaguely remembers his friend guizhong mentioning about this rare particular soulmate system when she still roamed teyvat.
a soulmate!
zhongli stands straighter, eyes grazing on the sea of people, trying to see if anyone stopped to hear the bells he heard. he mutters a few apologies when people bump into him with lanterns in their hands, but that doesn't matter to him.
fate brought someone for him to love. it's just that... he doesn't know where.
he walks forward, he walks backwards to where he came from. he walks to the docks then to the top of liyue harbour, but he can't hear the sound of the bells again.
he doesn't panic. he doesn't rush, because he knows fate will bring you back together. he just doesn't know how long until he'll hear the bells again.
it came to him a surprise when he hears the bells everyday after that.
everyday when he sits at third-round knockout he hears the sound of bells behind him, but when he turns, he knows you've left already.
he sighs, blowing on his tea before taking light sips. it seems he won't be meeting you today.
one day, the ringing just stops. there's no sign of you, or your presence. zhongli assumes you're just taking a sick day, or you've decided to rest, but after a week of not hearing the bells, he worries.
archons, how he wanted to look for you, but he doesn't even know who you are. hu tao encourages zhongli to take the day off and look for you, so he did.
walking aimlessly in liyue, doubt crosses his mind. what if you were here for a business trip and left? it wasnt until he passes by a stunning figure he hears the bells again. he stiffens and turns to you when you stopped next to him.
"thank goodness," he says, slightly covering his smile with a gloved hand.
your eyes sparkle as you look at him, "thank goodness indeed."
diluc: lost possesions will come to your soulmate
for as long diluc knows, strange things always end up in his possessions: hairclips, pens, coins, and archons forbid- his soulmate's overdue bills.
his father laughs when younger diluc comes home dragging a wagon and the biggest teddy bear in history, because how on teyvat does someone lose a teddy bear taller than a door. crepus watches his son struggling to drag the big toy home and sees his other son pushing the wagon from behind, also struggling.
"what do you have there?"
all the response he gets are grunts. the side of his eyes crinkle with mirth, seeing his two sons having trouble bringing it home.
"father!" diluc calls out with a grin missing two of his front teeth, "i don't know where it came from. it's like it appeared from the sky."
"it actually did fall out of the sky!" kaeya says, "we were at the vineyard and i saw diluc get crushed!"
"i did not get crushed."
"did too," kaeya retaliates, sticking his tongue out.
that was the first time diluc heard of this certain soulmate system. lost things from his soulmate go to his possession; lost things from diluc go to his soulmate's possession.
crepus glances at his boys and gets an idea. he calls for them to follow him, and they do, obediently. he leads them to his room, pulling out a treasure chest full of frilly clothes, dresses, outfits that range from a farmer's outfit to a noblewoman.
"this chest is where your mother kept her favourite things," crepus pulls out a necklace from the bottom of the case. "this necklace was particularly her favourite."
diluc can see why. he's mesmerized by the ruby sparkle it hangs. the gold chain complimenting the red jewel and making it complete.
crepus clutches the necklace, looking at it longingly before placing it back in the chest. he places out all the old clothes from the container and lays it on his bed.
"you can keep your soulmate's things here like i once did. your pops is getting too old anyway, i-"
kaeya interrupts crepus jumps on the clothes that are on the bed, creating a havoc in the room. he jumps on the bed with so much energy even after diluc tells him about the story of the 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed.
though, crepus is having none of that. he picks up diluc by his small arms and flings him to kaeya, looking like a bowling ball knocking down a pin. the two boys gasp for air, shooting dirty looks at their father before they chase him out of the house.
the corner of diluc's mouth twitch up ever so slightly, remembering when he first knew of his soulmate. it would take a very observant person to notice his smile. he polishes the glass behind angel's share's counter. under the filtered sunlight, the glass glints. satisfied with the cleanliness.
the chest his father game him was fill of trinkets his soulmate had lost over the years, and good grief. his soulmate must be the most disorganized person ever. he remembers walking to dawn winery and a sack of mora drop on his feet. it wasn't a pleasant feeling, but the thing that has diluc worried is how his soulmate tends to lose the biggest things like a 7-foot-tall teddy bear.
diluc is about to place the wine glass on a cupboard until SMACK.
a thick paper hits his face from seemingly nowhere and so he knows that is his soulmate losing the tenth thing for the day. he has a room dedicated for the things his soulmate has lost, and he thinks he might need a second room.
he pulls the paper off his face and his eyes widen in shock. this two-inch thick paper are legal documents. loan agreements. overdue loan agreements.
[Name] [Last Name]
he notes the name in his head. [Name] owes the fatui 35 thousand mora as interest. what kind of reckless person- then it hits his mind. that sack of mora that fell from the sky was that 35 thousand to pay off the loans.
he knows where to go. he leaves the wineglass on the counter for charles to pick up and hastily grabs his coat and leaves the door.
"liyue, liyue, liyue, and the fatui." he chants in his head. loans. he greets his maid before ascending to his room. he snatches the mora that dropped on his feet and sprints out the door to retrieve his stallion.
a few hours at most to make it to where his fated partner was at, and so he sets off.
arriving at liyue is strange, seeing diluc's attire did not match the city, and seeing his hands are holding the reins of his horse tightly. a strange traveler from a foreign land... with a majestic stallion. he looks like a prince straight out of a fairytale.
he lightly pats his horse, urging to go a bit faster from the trotting they were doing until he meets the gaze of a distressed person in front of the fatui.
"i swear! i had the money and the papers just today!"
diluc scoffs, knowing who they were now, and they did not have the money today. they lost it a week ago.
"listen," the masked fatui grumbles. "im just here to do my job. if i don't have the money in my hands right now i'll-"
diluc jumps off the saddle and unloads the sack of mora from the side, dropping it on the fatui's hand with a seething glare, yet still polite.
"i believe they owe you 35 thousand? sounds about right, no?" he says, letting his diplomatic side show a bit. "for the sake of it, why not amuse me and take this, david. hmm?"
the fatui goes rigid, hearing his name. he slowly lifts his eyes up, "master diluc." he curtly nods and skittishly walks away. one time david spilled drinks at a mondstadt political gathering. he spilled it on diluc.
the ragnvindr waits for the fatui to walk away before turning to his, supposedly love of his life.
"you're the one who lost a 7-foot-tall teddy bear when i was six," he points out, waiting for your response.
his soulmate sheepishly smiles, "well- i would have a good defense but hey, did you at least enjoy having a 7-feet-tall teddy bear fall on you?"
"i did, along with a glass mug falling on me as well."
"i just cant believe how you never lose your stuff!" they retort, "the only thing i got was a missing tooth from you."
the tip of diluc's ears turn the same colour as his hair, but still wears a stoic expression. "i'm diluc ragnvindr," he greets, slightly bowing his head.
"and i'm yours"

//extra toxic fuckboy behaviors especially at the end, impreg, slutshaming, blackmail, mildly sexist But anyway instead of Childe drugging post have Childe drunk sex post Childe with a cute fem subordinate darling. The thing is, he doesn't actually drug you, per se. It's a little more deceptive than that -- you're certainly under the influence, though. Like Kaeya, he's only doing this if he's reached a point where he's desperate. You've turned him down over and over, he's tried everything he can to get you to fuck him and you won't. He's frustrated and blueballed and that's a very unfortunate combination for poor darling, because he's considerably less nice when he's frustrated. But that's what you deserve. If you were good and just let him fuck you all those times he tried before -- and believe him, he tried a LOT -- then this wouldn't have to happen. He tried so many times, and he tried everything he knows! All the lines he rehearsed in his head didn't work, and he came on pretty heavy, leaving him just feeling sad and bitter. Obviously you want him, how could you not, so he’s just doing something wrong. He's your superior, he could just, dunno, demand it? But that would feel kinda emasculating, to be honest, at least, more so than the plan he does settle on. And that's why you won't be knocked out, not all the way. He's very particular about it. He doesn't have anything against this morally, no, it's normalized to him, and it's not like he'd get in trouble. Granted, he has plenty of drugs available. It's pretty well known that the Fatui guys do this kind of thing pretty frequently, the men go in groups to taverns in Mondstadt and pick through girls and even some young guys to find the most naive and gullible to spike and lure away when they start swaying. Luckily for those, at least, it's a one time ordeal they can forget and move on from, but you aren't going to be so lucky. Nor does he need to drug you to get what he wants. He thinks you're a little stupid, really. You accept his invitation so quickly. Camped out in the wilderness with nothing but liquor and your own two selves. For a moment, it occurs to him he doesn't even need to put you under the influence, he could just force you right here and you couldn't do a thing. Still, he did have to pay a bit to get this nice stuff, so he might as well, and he can't afford you screaming and drawing attention from a potential passerby. So he watches you take the cup designated as yours, and before you can even take a moment to question or doubt, he challenges you. You can't outdrink him, he says. Bet you're a lightweight. You'd probably get sick a few shots in. Where he's from, people actually know how to hold their alcohol, unlike you weak-livered people. And of course, you scoff, you fold your arms, you insist he's wrong, just as he knew you would, just as he hoped you would. And he just smiles at you. Ok, prove it then. You glare back and say you're on. You don't question that he's pouring out of two separate flasks. You can't see the color difference between the liquids in the darkness of the night sky, nor the grimace on his face as he drinks -- maybe he should have brought water from the town rather than filling his flask out of the river, yuck. Your determined face is so cute. Your eyelids start to get heavy. You scrunch your face as your blink and try to stay alert. You drop one of your shots on the ground and he smiles and says maybe you should just accept defeat. You shake your head and keep going. Admittedly, he's actually a bit impressed, you got more than he thought you would by the time you finally drop the glass for good and slump on the ground. Whew. About time, he was starting to get sick of drinking so much water. And you do twitch a bit, open your eyes and stumble around and mutter something about not accepting defeat, you'll prove him wrong, but he just laughs and picks you up and drags you into the tent with ease. He likes it when you're not blacked out all the way. That's why drugging you would have been no fun. This way, your eyes open just a bit, heavily lidded and blinking, you mumble out incoherent words. You protest just a bit when you feel your clothes slide off -- what are you... but you don't finish the question. He's a good guy, really, he cares about you, which is why he does a quick check and feels your skin to make sure you're not actually under any alcohol poisoning or something, but your skin is warm and dry, not clammy. Good, now you can get to the good part. He thinks about how grateful you should be. His friends and subordinates even have teased him for the longest time because he won't just go out with them to try to get lucky somewhere or participate in their drugging of randoms, no, he's whipped, they snicker, obsessed with this one little bitch that just won't put out. He can't say they're wrong, and that irritates him even more that you humiliated him like that. Which is why this isn't just a one time thing, no, this is part of the plan. He talks to you while he fucks you, maybe you'll remember some of it, maybe not. Actually, hopefully not everything, since he more or less admits how desperate he is in his lust-hazed rambling, how much it's irritated him that you wouldn't just be his and let him fuck you. Why can't you just admit you like him? Why do you have to play hard to get? He rambles about how soft your body is. How good pussy really does feel, holy shit, those guys were right, it's so warm and grips his dick so nicely. Not that he'd limit himself to that, while he's got you like this he might as well put his dick in your limp mouth, but admittedly he imagines that would feel a lot better if you were awake and actually sucking on it. Your mouth moves just a bit, and in your nearly-blacked-out state your tongue runs over the intrusion and you let out the softest confused little sound, but that's all you do. But he makes sure to breed you, cumming several times, all deep deep deep inside of your tight cunt. Again, part of the plan. Just not the most important part of the plan. The most important part is the kamera. It captures moment after moment. The first round he just leaves it aside, takes time to really just live in this sweet, precious moment... and then he breaks the kamera out. Gets all the nice shots with his dick in your holes. Gets a few full body ones, makes sure it's unmistakable as you. Captures your cute drunk face, with your eyes open just a bit, it looks like you're just awake but eyes lidded from arousal. You look awake. Willing. And so, when he finally goes to sleep, he does so very very happily and confident. And when you wake up, he was so rough that there's absolutely no doubt as to what transpired. Your throat and pussy are sore as hell, you're both naked in bed and his cum is still leaking out of you. The regret and shame comes crashing down, holy shit, you slept with your boss that's been trying to fuck you for ages now and your life is over. You'll have to transfer or something. But then... you know you drank on your own choice, but something feels... wrong. He's heavily snoring away, so in morning light you spot the flasks from last night. Your head is pounding, but you make your way over to the first one, and take a swig and spit it back out, yeah, that's the stuff you had... and then take a swig from the other... and when you taste water it all clicks. Bastard. You shake him awake in fury and immediately start telling him off, cursing and snarling. He was half expecting that, to be honest. Sure, obviously you want him, but he gets that you'd be a little mad over the way you got what you wanted, and you’re just embarrassed because you were so dumb, you're just hysterical like that. And you’re just naturally ashamed after fucking, like most girls apparently are, he gets that. But he just smiles and laughs in your face. It cuts deep, it's like a knife in your stomach, because you know why. He's untouchable, even if people believed you, nothing will happen to him, and he knows that. He has nothing to fear. You grit your teeth and your eyes tear up and your lip quivers and you finally drop your head and sniffle, asking him to just take me back. You'll quit, transfer to another department, and then, you tell him bitterly, I'll never have to see you again, at least. And that's what makes his smile drop. You're not gonna do that, he says. Your eyes widen with some new horror when you see the pictures. He talks to you like a child, in that dumb oversimplified way of speech, it's degrading and dehumanizing. Explains that this is how it's gonna go. You're gonna keep being his little subordinate. You're gonna be his girlfriend, publicly. And you're gonna fuck him whenever he wants. If you decide you don't like that, the entire branch, hell, the entire organization sees these photos. You have a very easy, simple choice. It's up to you to decide what happens. Oh, and you're probably pregnant, by the way, he timed this whole thing based on that calendar you keep that he snuck a look at. Would hate for you to have to deal with that on your own, right? People do envy you, down the line. How easy your job must be, since you're nothing more than an assistant now. Everyone knows you're just fucking the boss, that's probably how you got that position in the first place, right? And it's not like he doesn't make it obvious. Whenever he gets with the group of guys at his own level, when they all start saying horrendous things about the women they work with and sharing over-embellished tales as men do, he has plenty of very detailed stories to brag about the cute girlfriend he has. How she drops to her knees at any given moment, and how good and tight she is, and how eager she is, how much she loves fucking him, worships him, he's not like the pathetic bastards that have to go drug some poor unsuspecting thing once a month or so, no, he can get all the sweet, devoted pussy he wants at any time. He has the pictures to prove it! They roll their eyes because they've seen the pictures a hundred times now, everyone has, he shows every guy he works with, and they all know not to tell her that they've seen them. Even if they did, it wouldn't matter, she'd be dumb to leave him this late into pregnancy anyway.
