Sorry this is insane under the cut. Literally written for an audience of one (me) but i could not stop thinking about it.
Tumblr media
i know what you're all thinking. you saw this photo and you also thought: pierresteban m-preg, didnt you? naturally.
Because obviously Pierre and Esteban have been fucking throughout the season. A dry hand job in the sim hallway closet is better than their PR meetings after another double DNF, right?
But then one weekend Pierre is out on lap 2 with an engine failure and Esteban gets a P4 and Pierre, loses it a bit. And Esteban hates losing to Pierre just as much as Pierre hates losing to Esteban, but Pierre is running the engineers down about engine mapping and understeer and... Esteban's slow pitstop costing them a podium? Like it was Pierre's to lose. And look. Esteban can fight his own battles.
So it's a tense walk out of the paddock. Pierre wont even look at Esteban as he shoves his bags into an awaiting car, his coach clearly receiving a getaway text halfway through the meeting. Esteban leaves for the summer break feeling unsteady.
Tumblr media
It's halfway through the summer break when Pierre drags Charles to his appointment with him. He's happier today, genuinely laughing at Charles' gossip for the first time since Pierre told him. He's keeping it. The baby. There are a million questions, first of which is: how are you going to tell the team? Which really means, how are you going to tell him?
But Pierre is happier today. He is squirming around when the doctor spreads the gel over his stomach and laughing as he tries to shove the phone out of Charles hands, yelling something about no paparazzi in a doctors office calamar!
Charles thinks he will be glad eventually. To have photos of it all.
Tumblr media
Esteban is trying not to stare. He thinks he can't really be blamed for it, what with Pierre practically waddling around with a scanner in hand, picking out seemingly the most expensive version of every bottle, crib and stroller in the store.
It had been hard at first. When Alpine had sat him down to tell him that Jack would be finishing out the season as his teammate. When Pierre had decided for him, for them, that he could do it on his own. Esteban missed the whole second trimester because of it. Fighting him to prove that it could be both of them this time. Needed to be both of them.
So he's not quite used to it yet. But when Pierre holds up two identical looking car seats and looks at Esteban expectantly, smirking when Esteban manages to choose the right one, he thinks he will be one day.
Tumblr media
He thinks Pierre must be joking, when he comes into Esteban's bedroom with Amélie in one arm and the travel bag in the other. He's pulling the trophy off of Esteban's mantle before Esteban can even protest though, echoes of trust me! I saw it on instagram, you just have to see the vision! floating behind him from the hallway.
He's not entirely convinced this isn't some sort of child neglect. But he has to admit that she fits perfectly, wrapped up in her blanket inside the trophy. Esteban spent the majority of the car ride to the photographer's studio cleaning the possible remnants of champagne out with baby wipes, just in case. Mine and yours. Pierre has said it so quickly Esteban thought he had misheard him, eyes straight on the road ahead of him.
Pierre had been on the pitwall that day, 8 months pregnant and insistent that his babymoon be trackside. Beside him now, he is fussing with the buttons of his shirt, still stretching slightly around his belly. Esteban takes the hem in his hands, dragging his hands up to meet Pierre's and pushing the button carefully through the hole. Pierre smiled at him, opening his mouth to speak before a babble from across the room draws his attention away.
Ours, Esteban thinks to himself, following him.

Pairing: Jack Daniels (Agent Whiskey) x  (f) ace!reader
Wordcount: 2.2k
Warnings: discussions of sex and related topics, maybe some angst? a lot more analogies than actual descriptions
Summary: a drive in theatre, a budding relationship, and a whole lot of mutual support
Notes: okay obviously this is a wildly personal topic - I fully understand that asexuality looks different for everyone. For full disclosure, in this story, the reader knows they are somewhere on the asexuality spectrum, but is not aromantic. They are also are on a path of self discovery and are open to learning about themselves. This IS NOT saying asexuals who are like this are growing "better" than those who are not interested. Asexuals who do know what they do and dont want are perfect and do not need to change or compromise as part of their personal growth.
There will be an optional part 2 where they have more conversations about intimacy and explore together what works for them, but again, this is not everyone's story, or the "right" way, it's just... one story.
That being said, I genuinely hope yall enjoy!
>>
You stared at the bashful man in front of you openly, your hands stilling on the groceries you were halfway done unloading.
Even the slightest rustle of the cloth bags was painfully loud in the silence that stretched between you.
Jack had burst through your door, confident as always, but it was a thin layer over his anxious heart. With two long strides, he was pulling you into his arms, almost crushing you against his chest.
Arms winding around his middle, you held him just as tightly before you found your voice again.
“You’re back,” you said, simply amazed that he was a whole week early from the long mission. “When did you get back?”
You hadn’t realized he had picked you up until your feet were on solid ground again, and he was pulling away.
“Just a few hours ago, I had to make it back in time for opening night, right?” he grinned winningly.
You tried not to overthink, feeling a jolt of excitement that he remembered – tonight. The drive-in theatre in town was opening for the season and you had been more than excited. As one of your most consistent movie night friends, Jack had promised to take you, full of butterflies and subtext.
For as close as you’d gotten over the past few months, you weren’t sure what to make of his expression.
“If that’s okay? I should’ve double checked,” you hadn’t responded and it was apparently making him nervous.
“Yeah, Jack, that sounds great,” you reassured him, turning back to your groceries, equally nervous.
If you were being honest, you hadn’t expected him to remember because it had almost felt like an off-hand comment at the time, and you hadn’t wanted to get your hope up to much.
Something was welling in your stomach as you turned away from him fully, putting each item in its respective home in your kitchen. You liked him, of course you liked him. He was bold and kind and passionate, and more handsome than seemed reasonable for a single person. And… and when he was nearby, there was a feeling of safety, just out of reach, like water lapping at your feet at the beach.
It was more than tempting but, same as the ocean, there was also an uneasiness in the unknown. The same uneasiness was present in every relationship you’d ever had – because you had a secret.
Well, it was less of a secret and more… something you were figuring out that you hadn’t talked about much. Despite long late night talks and months of growing close and even slowly falling for each other, you hadn’t quite found the courage to talk to Jack about it yet. The more real the soft, sweet moments between you got, the more the unease filled your bones. You knew how he was with other women, and each time his hand lingered on your hip, your shoulder, your cheek, a quiet voice whispered that he deserved better.
Jack was staring at you, lost in your thoughts as you mechanically worked your way through the bags. His heart ached for you, and he wished more than anything that you trusted him with whatever you were holding back. But he was a determined man – he would do whatever he could to show you that no matter what, he wasn’t going anywhere.
 -
After awhile, Jack coaxed you back to your normal self, telling you as much of his mission as he could and helping you cook dinner. Moving around your kitchen was wonderfully peaceful, a little bubble of intimacy. Food was great for neutralizing anxious thoughts.
The feeling continued into his truck as you excitedly packed blankets and he fought the urge to kiss your adorable face when you found the snacks he’d picked up. Even before he left, in anticipation for tonight, he cleaned the front seat thoroughly, and made sure his radio was in good condition.
The movie went well too, but as much as he wanted to pull you into his arms, press you into his side, be the warmth against the cool night air, there was a hesitation that held him at bay.
Every time he’d reach for you, cautious and gentle, your skin would twitch, almost jumping away before you’d smile at him and lean into it. You seemed happy, but part of your mind was holding you back. As friends, you two were relatively physically affectionate, so he made a mental note to tread light and watch for more cues. Jack never wanted to impose himself on anyone but with you, even less.
So he waited. He had no doubt you’d talk to him when you were ready, and heavens knows that he had plenty of things he had kept buried. It was still nice, hearing you laugh next to him - just him – and seeing the light reflecting off the movie dance across your skin. Talking with you was always easy, even more so without friends or family around and it made Jack ache with eagerness.
As he pulled up to your home, he gently took your hand.
“Darlin, it was plum delightful to take you out tonight,” he said, cursing himself internally for how nervous he sounded. You looked his, eyes catching the streetlight like magic and your gentle squeeze gave him courage.
“I really would like to take you out again, on a proper date,” he couldn’t look away from your eyes, trying to read them through the murkiness. “I really like you,” Jack added, quieter, “but you don’t have to respond right now.”
You nodded, your eyes closing tight as though you were at war with yourself.
You think you like me, but I’m not the type of girl you want to date.
“You don’t have to… tell me, if you’re not ready, but,” he offered after a long moment, his free hand flexing on the steering wheel as he forced himself to examine the bushes on the side of the parking lot. “But I’m listening.”
You felt both hot and cold at the same time. All evening you could feel it coming, knew it was going to happen, knew it had to. He deserved this conversation, and honestly, if there was anyone who made you feel like you did, too, it was Jack.
Inhale, exhale.
Inhale -
“Okay,” - exhale.
Remembering that neither of you had work the next day helped. Slowly you let go of your hand and unbuckled your seatbelt, shifting to get comfortable again, the actions thick with significance. He returned it, unbuckling too, and killing the engine.
Jack was so respectful you could cry, his obvious anxiety under control enough not to jump to conclusions – to wait for you.
“I like you, too, Jack, but I don’t think we can ever date,” you forced the words out and his heart nearly shattered, confusion barely holding it together.
Eyebrows so drawn in they almost looked like a solid line, he waited, unable to stop a small shake of his head.
Why not? His entire being screamed. With each second that passed, more and more determination seeped into the cracks of his heart, sticking it together. If you liked him as he liked you, it seemed impossible there was anything between you that couldn’t be overcome.
You saw the question in his eyes and the explanation tumbled out.
“It’s just, I know you – I know the girls you go after and the type of relationships most men want. And,” you were sucking in air, the vulnerability raking through your lungs. “And I don’t know if I can ever give you that.”
He started to protest before his hand covered his mouth, irritated movements over his mustache, his jaw working. What he wanted was you. But he needed to let you keep talking. If he interrupted you now, he might never understand what you meant.
You watched his movements, desperation to give him the explanation he deserved growing in you.
“I’ve had people break up with me because I wont sleep with them,” you shoved the words into the space, the most honest you’d maybe ever been.
Whatever he had been expecting, it wasn’t that. Your voice was trembling and so quiet only your moving lips confirmed the words as you continued.
“For me, it’s not something I need, or am particularly comfortable with. You,” you swallowed hard, unable to look at the man beside you. “You deserve someone you can be with, however you want.”
You took another deep breath, feeling light and surprisingly at peace with your honesty. Even the impending rejection felt less scary, now that you had said it all out loud. The trembles settled as you concluded, “I’m still figuring myself out and I just cant guarantee I’ll ever give you what you deserve.”
Of all the conversations with all the others before this, this moment felt the most freeing. It was wild to have such an intimate conversation before you even kissed, but… the foundation of trust that Jack had given you had not been lost on you. You found yourself smiling, looking at him, finally.
His expression had loosened, processing and connecting the dots, his deep eyes unfocused before they slid closed.
Now it was your turn to wait, to be patient, and listen.
Part of him wanted to yell that he wasn’t like the others, that he didn’t care and even that he would wait and work until you were ready. But that wasn’t right, and he knew it.
Inside him, deep, deep down, there was a small light. A candle of flame underneath a glacier: a touch of hope slowly warming its way through layers and layers and centuries of expectations, fear, confusion, and chaos. It was going strong, it just need more time.
“Darlin,” he looked at you, finally, meeting your eyes and feeling for the first time that they were a clear window into your soul. “You are… everything, to me. So… so let’s just take some time to process this. Would that be okay, sweetheart?”
That was the first time anyone had ever responded that way. It was the scariest thing, but it was perfect. You were overwhelmed with the rawness and a glance at the radio told you it was 2 am. Not a time to be making life altering decisions, anyway. Nodding, you pressed a chaste kiss to his cheek. The movement was intimate and confident – something that shouldn’t have been possible, but it was.
Jack’s large hand grasped at your neck and jaw, pulling you into him, pressing his forehead on yours. The hairs of his mustache just ticked your lip, but he made no move, respecting one final boundary for the night.
With a squeeze, he let you go, watching with longing eyes as you hopped out of his truck and ran to your front door. The smile you gave him before you slipped inside was the seal, engraving tonight into his memories forever.
And he drove home, his thoughts louder than the wind and the crickets and his pounding heart.
-
Jack invited you over a few days later, a Sunday afternoon. It would be the first time you’d talked, and you were surprisingly calm. For some reason, you felt like you’d be closer to him no matter what happened.
He heard your car on the long gravel driveway and greeted you with an all-encompassing hug. You held each other, like lifelines, for long moments before he pulled you inside.
“My mama sent cookies,” he said, motioning for you to sit at the tall table he had as he set down the plate. You couldn’t help but smile, knowing their Sunday lunches and her beloved baking well. He remained standing across from you, aware of the awkwardness, but eager to get his words right.
“This is all new to me,” he said, wishing suddenly that he’d made tea so his throat wouldn’t feel so dry. “If you really don’t wanna be with me, that’s your choice,” he said, knowing it was right and hating the option, “but I really – you’re just so – I can’t let you go,” his thoughts were jumbling together on his tongue.
It was grounding, when your hands found his, reaching across the table as you sat forward on your stool.
“What if we just took it slow?” you said, and his heart stopped.
“Please,” he managed, and your own chest felt like it would burst. “Would it be alright, darlin?” Jack’s hands held yours, his expression eager.
“Could – could we figure out what works for us? Figure this all out together?” You were close to crying, you wanted that so bad.
“I can’t promise I’ll change or… or what direction I’ll grow,” you said, needing to say it again, needing to be sure.
“I can’t, either, darlin,” he said, and you realized he was right and you would support each other, no matter what.
“But all I need is you. Whatever and however much you’ll give me. That’s more than enough.”
He didn’t say for now.
And you believed him.
Since he was still standing, it made it easy for you to tug him around the table, and you leaned into his chest. It felt safe, safer than you had ever thought was possible for you.
“Okay,” you told the flannel he was wearing, “Let’s figure it out together.” And even though you couldn’t see him, you knew he was smiling, too.

Much to everyone’s dismay, Jungkook’s spring break in Vegas with the boys is cut three days short when Jimin’s dog sitter suddenly cancels, citing a case of homesickness as enough cause to abruptly go home. When you first hear news of this, you’re preparing yourself for the return of a mopey, useless Jungkook, too drained from four glorious days in Las Vegas to carry on. What you’re not expecting is the mysterious text he sends you before boarding a five hour flight with no service (he was cheap).
kook still on vegas lockdown. Have that pussy ready when i get home
“The fuck does that mean?” Chaeyoung is the first to see the message, your screen lighting up on the kitchen counter beside you as you scrub through a mountainous pile of dishes. You try to play it off, after all, Chaeyoung had seen parts of you you hadn’t even seen, but there was no worse embarrassment than having your homegirls see your clown of a boyfriend’s ridiculousness. “He’s so romantic,” she swoons, and you shoo her away from the offending device as you wipe your hands down on your t-shirt.
you for what?? One 20 second round 🤥
Chaeyoung suddenly cackles from over your shoulder, and you swear your soul leaves your body.
You don’t get a response until exactly five hours and thirteen minutes later, your phone vibrating like crazy on the edge of your bathtub, and if you hadn’t given it a hearty kick and sent it flying across the room, front screen shattering into the most intricate spider web of glass shards, it would have fallen into the water. The terror.
kook pls pick me up
kook also haha. U r soooo funny 😑
You’re halfway to the airport, idly sitting in traffic and giving the public a free, Beyonce-like experience of The Script’s Breakeven, when you realize you’re not wearing any pants. You’re not exactly sure which part of Jungkook’s long t-shirt had tricked you into believing you were decently dressed, but you’re not too mad. After all, Jungkook’s trip with the boys had been a last minute decision that did not take into consideration your never-ending thirst for your boyfriend, so a little payback never hurt anybody.
He’s sitting on top of his suitcase outside the airport when you get there, cute Birkenstock-clad feet swinging back and forth as he waits for you like the good boy he is. He crouches down by the passenger window, “Uh, yeah, is this the Uber?”
You can’t even bother hiding the smile that consumes your face, and it only grows tenfold when he finally gets in and immediately leans over the center console to kiss you. “Look who’s finally back from their little bachelor party,” you murmur, eyes lidded dangerously low when he breaks away.
“Oh, the party where I accidentally sleep away my life-savings to a stripper named Aries and then have to go home and beg for my wife’s forgiveness?” He responds immediately, devious pink tongue swiping out to lick at your bottom lip.
You snort. “Joke’s on you, because our hot pool boy kept me company and treated me better in four days than my husband had in six years,” you mumble, finger looping into the silver chain around his neck to pull him close again.
“Not our hot pool boy,” he whines, smile pressed adorably to your lips.
You almost retort, but a ten-second horn blast from the car behind you has the two of you jumping three feet from each other, like teenagers caught making out in the school parking lot.
-
Just as you’d predicted via text, Jungkook barely has the energy to walk up the steps to your apartment, much less fuck you like he’d promised. “Fuck, stop being healthy and let us take the elevator,” he grunts, pushing his suitcase onto the final platform leading to your floor.
“Nope,” you concede. “The stairs give me a good view of your ass going up.”
He shoots you a scandalized look, like you’re an old man who’d just catcalled him on the street. “Pretty sure that’s my line.”
It’s when you’re unlocking the front door, sending out a little prayer to the heavens (Chaeyoung) for the blessing of an empty apartment, that he notices your lack of proper clothing. “Oh, hell no,” he groans, immediately crowding you against the armchair nearest the door.
You laugh, struggling to turn to face him as he nuzzles his face into your neck. “What seems to be the problem?”
He sighs against the shell of your ear, and you’d be a liar to say it didn’t send a gush of wetness to your core. Jesus, just a single puff of air from Jungkook was enough to turn your coochie into a Fruit Gusher. “Not your sexy legs again,” he whines, and you giggle when he presses those pouty lips to yours.
“Thought I was supposed to have this pussy ready for you,” you tease, tilting your head up until your noses brush against each other. Jungkook lets a soft huff of a sigh go, eyes fluttering shut at your close proximity.
There’s a hand that creeps along the back of your thigh, fingers pressing into the soft skin until he finally guides it upwards, hitched over his hip. The new position has your body curving backwards, tilted over the edge of the couch as he continues crowding closer and closer to you. “Baby,” he whines, and the tone and sudden usage of your favorite nickname wipes the teasing smile off your face. “I missed you so much,” he purrs, in that tone that says he knows he has you under his complete control, all he has to do is take care of you.
Still, you try to put up some sort of a fight. “I’m sure your eyes were kept entertained in Vegas,” you retort weakly, not even bothering to hide the jealousy in your tone.
Jungkook laughs, before puckering his lips and smothering you. Instantly, you throw your arms around his broad shoulders to pull him closer. His hair tickles your face from how long it’s gotten, and when you brush it back, collecting it into a makeshift baby ponytail, you can’t even enjoy the sight because Jungkook is pressing his rock hard member against your inner thigh.
“You think I’m a cheater?” He muses when he finally pulls away, a little entranced by the saliva that coats your lips in a thin sheen. “Couldn’t be even if I wanted to.” Before you can ask what that even means, he’s hauling you into his arms, your legs wrapping around his tiny waist, his cock now cradled between your thighs, right where you want him most. You moan immediately, head lolling backwards at the touch you’d craved for days. “Feel that? No one gets my dick hard like you do, baby.”
Even though his adrenaline is on one hundred, and he’s clearly blinded by his lust, Jungkook still sets you down on the bed like you’re made of glass. Any comments you may have made are smothered by his lips on yours, fingers gripping your waist like it’s the first time he’s ever touched you. When he pulls away, his eyes are dark and his breath is a little heavy where it fans against the lower half of your face.
“So pretty,” he huffs, rolling his hips against yours. You groan, eyes rolling back as the familiar feeling of your boyfriend between your legs consumes you. Jungkook presses his mouth against the skin of your neck, where the faintest sheen of sweat had begun to form the moment you unlocked the front door.
If you thought you were loud, the sounds leaving Jungkook’s throat are teetering on the edge between a pornstar and a yodelling-enthusiast. You can’t help the smirk crossing your features. “Are you really gonna come?”
Jungkook was many things, and drama queen was definitely very high on that list. He gives you the most scandalized expression, stopping the movement of his hips to scoff. “As if,” he snorts, but you know that little eyebrow furrow a little too well.
You snort, reaching down to his sides as you try to discreetly urge him to start up again. “Baby, your jaw is twitching,” you point out, a soft whine leaving your lips when he shifts your leg up. It’s this same sound that has him finally moving again.
“Yeah, well,” he groans, one hand deathly gripping into your hip now, pressing you down onto the bed so hard you feel the comforter will swallow you up any minute now. “I just got my wisdom teeth removed, ‘member?”
Your retort is briefly cut off by the cry you let out when he ducks down to suck a mark beneath your jaw. “M-Months ago,” you weakly respond,
Jungkook ignores you in favor of using his Hulk strength to fold you in half, groans borderline animalistic as he grinds his cock into your soaked panties. His jaw is tight like you’d said, but you can tell he’s holding himself back. He hated coming before you, seldom doing it unless it was one of those rare days where he wanted you to pamper him.
“Fuck,” he grunts, swallowing your pitiful whines before pushing his tongue down your throat. There was something sexy about your boyfriend being so turned on that his saliva production was off the charts. “You’re gonna ask me to do that thing again, aren’t you?” He predicts.
All you can do is nod, and Jungkook smirks. “Ah,” he says, much like a doctor would, and you comply, mouth wide. You see the muscles beneath his jaw twitch, and a moment later he’s leaning over you with puckered lips, a glob of saliva begging to drip down.
The moan that catches in your throat has him smiling, tongue peeking out to cut the bridge of saliva that connected the two of you, and you want to tell him you love him, but then he’s raising his eyebrows at you, motioning for you to swallow, so you do. “Absolutely filthy,” he grins, and then returns to thrusting against you.
As much as you liked to tease him, he’s good at fulfilling the sexual aspects of his boyfriend role, and he guides you to your orgasm moments later. Of course, he does so by toying with your tits just the way you like, lips pressed firmly to yours as you become a boneless heap beneath him. “That’s it, pretty baby,” he murmurs, pressing one final kiss to your lips before he’s shifting back onto his haunches, tugging you closer until the backs of your knees are cradled carefully in his elbows.
Despite your transcended state, you love watching Jungkook get himself off, and your eyes flutter as you watch him thrust sloppily against your soiled panties. They’re soaked by your own arousal, and had Jungkook’s sweats not been as dark as they were, you’re almost certain you’d see how they stained.
He comes a moment later, body twitching and fingers tightening against your skin. His chest heaves, head lolling back as he tries to regain his senses. Silence envelopes the room.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” You blurt, no longer able to pretend like something isn’t completely wrong.
Jungkook rolls his neck out, a satisfying crack resounding, as he angles to look at you again. His tongue is poking against his cheek in that cocky way it does sometimes, and he furrows his brows at you. “What?”
You shuffle up onto your elbows, motioning towards him with the vaguest wave possible. He blinks. You groan.
“What did you do?” You question, and immediately his eyes go wide and shiny in that way they do when you’re reprimanding him and he doesn’t see the wrong in his ways.
Cute little lips forming a pout he remains as confused. “Nothing? We really just went to fuck around and get drunk—“
“Kook.”
“You don’t actually think I cheated, I thought we were just joking? Unless…” he trails off, doe eyes suddenly filled with fear. “You weren’t?”
“Jungkook—“
He intercepts you, “did you do something while I was gone? Who was he? Or she? Wow,” he huffs to himself in disbelief. “I don’t even know you well enough to know if you’re into more than just men.” The frown on his face is getting deeper with each word he utters and you almost can’t believe how dumb he could be. “No wonder… am I a terrible boyfriend?” He asks, voice louder and more concerned than it’s been all night.
“What the fuck are you even talking about?” You say, and Jungkook looks just as lost by your response as you are with his. “Because I’m talking about whatever this is,” you explain, reaching up to drag a hand through his dual-colored locks.
They’d been carefully tucked under his bucket hat when you’d picked him up, a tuft of blonde peeking out from in front of his ear. It wasn’t until he’d tipped you over the side of the couch that it had tumbled off. Of course, at the time, there had been other pressing matters at hand than wondering why your Hannah Montana blonde boyfriend had returned as Todoroki, which is why you’d waited until now to revisit the topic.
Jungkook doesn’t move for a solid ten seconds. Then, as if processing the emotional episode he’d just given you, he gives you a sheepish smile. It’s one of those smiles where his lips press together thinly and cutely and the apples of his cheeks seem like the squishiest things in the world. “Oh…” he says, voice soft and nothing like the man that spit in your mouth five minutes ago. “You like it?”

Part one
—————————————————————————-
“Alright great job everyone!” Xavier exclaimed to the class. “Just remember I wont be teaching for a couple of months but that doesn’t mean you can slack off! I want every one to be ready to go as soon as I get back!”
The class slowly made their way out of the door, some stopping to wish Xavier a good summer break. He flashed his famous white tooth smile, waving them off. His eyes wandering to his girlfriend who was in deep conversation with Montana Duke.
“So how was the dick last night?” Montana asked bluntly, still stretching her legs. The blonde chuckled at her friend’s wide eyed expression. “Oh don’t be so modest, Lex. You’ve been smiling like an idiot since the both of you got here.”
Lexi just shook her head before crossing her arms and leaning in, lowering her voice. “It was very nice.”
Before Montana could get in one of her many responses, Ray had stepped in and placed an arm around both of the girls.
“Okay, enough with the chit chat and let’s get GOING. I want to get to RedWood before it gets late.”
“What is your deal with leaving the city so soon, huh?” Xavier made his way over to the group and shoved Ray’s arm off of Lexi.
“Like I said, this city is about to get crazy. Just want to get a head start, man.” He moved his other arm off of Montana and nervously wiped his forehead.
“Right, well we’re going to hit the showers and we’ll be ready.” Montana looped her arm through Lexi’s and took off.
After showering, Montana and Lexi met up with the boys in the gym lobby. Lexi fell into Xavier’s side on the couch. Chet sat opposite of them, leaning forward with his elbows resting on his thighs. Ray sat halfway off the arm of the couch looking on edge as per usual that week.
“Alright so the drive to RedWood should only be about two hours so if you guys need anything, get it done now because I’d like to make as less stops as possible.” Xavier said to the group.
The group all shook their heads and Ray jumped to stand.
“Nope!” He said enthusiastically. “Let’s get rolling!”
Xavier and Chet rolled their eyes as they began to stand to exit. Before any of them could even head to the door, the doors to the lobby opened and small brunette hastily made her way to Montana.
“Montana!” She exclaimed, practically shocking the hell out of the blonde. “I- can I still come with you guys?”
“Of course, Brooke. What’s going on?”
“You look shaken,” Chet chimed in, dropping his bag to the ground and stepping towards the girl. “Are you alright?”
The girl, Brooke, was on the brink of tears. “H-he came for me last night. The Night Stalker! He broke into my apartment, he tried to kill me!”
Montana nodded, and guided Brooke to the couch. “What? You’ve got to be kidding! Are you alright?”
Lexi moved from Xavier and ran to the nearest water machine to grab a cup for the girl. The group just stood by as Montana tried to calm her down.
“Are you sure that’s who it was, Brooke?” Ray asked. “Not just some random dude?”
“Of course it was him! He said,” she lowered her voice. “He said he wanted me to swear on satan.”
Xavier sighed, brows raised. “Damn, that’s fucked up. You’re still welcome to come though.”
Montana nodded enthusiastically. “Yes! Come with us, we’ll be out in the woods. You’ll be safe there with us.”
As Brooke nodded, Lexi made her way back to Brooke with the water. “Here drink and just breathe.”
Brooke took the water with a small “thank you.” She looked around at the group. “I- I packed a bag just in case-“
“We’ll get the van loaded, no worries!” Ray spoke, signaling the boys to follow him.
“Yeah, plenty of room.” Chet gave a small smile towards the brunette before leaving the girls to sit in silence.
Lexi stood up from where was kneeling next to Brooke. “I’m Lexi, by the way. You must be Montana’s new friend.”
Brooke nodded. “Yeah, we met yesterday in class.”
“Lexi is Xavier’s girlfriend.” Montana said. “And my best friend, well more like a sister.”
“It’s nice to meet you,” Brooke spoke.
“Same.” It remained quiet again until she spoke once more. “So do you really think it was him? There’s a lot of crazy shit that goes down in this city.”
“It was him.” Brooke declared, sitting the plastic cup on the coffee table. “He said he was going to come after me!”
Montana held her hands up. “Brooke, chill. It’s gonna be okay. You’ll come with us to Camp RedWood and by the time we get back, the cops will have most likely found him.”
Lexi nodded. “Exactly,” she patted Brooke’s shoulder for reassurance.
Brooke nodded and stood. The two blondes stood with her and they all made their way out of the gym.
———————————ASTR————————————
The first hour during the ride was filled with laughs and promises of the best summer to come. Lexi sat close to Xavier in the front of the van as the others chilled in the back. Brook sat between Montana and Chet, still obviously on edge.
Ray offered some alcohol to the brunette in hopes of calming her nerves. “I still don’t really know what happened.” She managed to say before taking a swig from Ray’s flask.
“Face it, Brooke. You’re a badass.” Montana smiled at the girl.
“The cops are going to find him right?” Brooke asked, still in not convinced.
“I’m sure they will, hun.” Lexi turned around in her seat to give Brooke a reassuring smile.
“What’s better than a few weeks out in the wilderness? And get paid for it!” Montana said, bringing a hand onto the brunette’s knee. “Brooke, you’re totally doing the right thing coming with us.”
“Absolutely, it’s going to be a nonstop party.” Ray spoke next. “The kids, the camp. I’ve got us enough blow and weed to last us through the summer. And let’s just hope that we don’t have to take any drug tests.” Ray, Lexi, Montana and Xavier laughed as Chet huffed.
“No, it’s not fucking funny. Point zero zero one. That’s how much shit those morons said was in my blood stream.” Chet huffed and crossed his arms.
“If you haven’t figured it out yet, Chet was disqualified from Team USA. He peed a pharmacy, so they kicked him out of the Olympics.” Montana said to Brooke, who tried to keep her eyes from starting at the man.
“Come on, you can be honest with us. We’re all friends!” Xavier chuckled.
“But I didn’t do anything! I worked my ass off for that spot!” Chet whined, now moving to pull his shirt off. “I mean look at this bod. Have you ever seen a body like this?”
Brooke shook her head and replied quietly with a “no.”
“You’re embarrassing yourself.” Ray chimed.
“Yeah? What the hell do you got, huh? Let’s see it!”
Montana, who had been watching the whole exchange with smirk spoke. “Yeah, I’m up for a good laugh.”
Lexi giggled as Ray struggled to remove his shirt but managed to finally get it off. He flexed whatever muscles he had. “Eat my shorts!”
A bright flash from Montana’s Polaroid camera blinded him for a moment. She just grabbed the film when it finally printed. “For memory purposes.”
“It’s like the ad always says ‘there’s always room for jello.’”
Ray rolls his eyes and digs through his backpack something. Then brings out a little clear vial of a white substance.
Without a word he gestures it to Chet who hesitates but gives up.
“What the hell! It doesn’t matter what I put in my body anymore anyways.” He says before taking hit off his finger.
Chet passes it back to Brooke, who shyly declines. Which it was now handed to Montana who was obviously down.
“More for me,” she snorted what she could before handing it to Lexi. “And for Lexi.”
Lexi rolled her eyes before lifting the vial towards her nose. She took a big wiff from the line in which she poured onto her hand.
Lexi managed to trade the coke for one of Ray’s famous blunts. She sunk back into seat next to Xavier with the blunt placed in between her fingers.
The curvy blonde took two hits before holding it up to her boyfriend’s mouth. Xavier rolled his eyes at whatever chatter his friends were causing in the back seat. He leaned into the joint that Lexi had held up for him.
Not bothering to wait for him to release the Smoke he had inhaled, she moved closer and placed her lips onto his plump ones. The smoke from the joint seeking its way back into Lexi’s mouth.
The two didn’t notice their friends were watching. Ray, being the more playful friend, decided to call them out.
“Come on you two, cut that shit out before Xav crashes the damn van!”
Lexi only smiled bashfully and sat back in her spot in the passengers seat. That didn’t stop Xavier from taking his large right hand to squeeze her thigh.
And in a low voice, avoiding their friends. He whispered into her ear. “Don’t forget what I said about sex in the woods.”
Lexi just smiled “Oh baby, don’t tease.” She winked.
Not much longer the group arrived at what looked like an older, broken down gas Station. Which was kinda eerie to Lexi, considering her knowledge of horror movies with gas stations like this one.
Everyone had hopped out to stretch their legs. Xavier moved passed the gas station attendant.
“Fill her up. How much?” He asks the older man.
“About a quarter,” he responded.
“And the pay phone?” He asked. The older man grunted And pointed towards the back by a garbage dump.
Lexi settles for a coke from a soda machine nearby. She scraped together a dollar from the change from Xavier’s van.
“You guys want anything from the vending machine?” Lexi asks the girls who are busy stretching their legs and talking.
“Nah, I’m good.” Montana replied.
“No thanks, I’m good.” Brooke responded.
Lexi shrugged and headed back to the vending machine to get her drink.
“Actually, Lexi could you do me a favor?”
“What?” She grabbed her soda and joined Montana And Brooke.
“I don’t know if you could tell but I think Brooke here has a crush on our dear, pain in the ass, Chet. Does she have you blessing?”
“It’s not what you-“ Brooke was cut off.
“Brooke, I really don’t care about you and Chet. Just go for it. Honestly, we only dated for 6 months.”
“You don’t care?”
“Nope. Chet And I have moved on from each other. And now I have Xavier.” Lexi said, eyeing her man walking back towards them. “So have fun!” She giggled to Brooke.
“See? I told you not to worry about her!” Montana Schabe Brooke’s shoulder a shove. “Xavier let’s go! We need to start making a move if we going to get to RedWood before dark!”
“Did she say RedWood?” The old man asked.
“Yeah, camp RedWood. We’re all camp counselors there for the summer.” Brooke answered.
“Turn around. Go back to the city.” The old man responded. “They should have never opened that place again.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. How much do we owe you?” Xavier interrupted, his hand resting on Lexi’s lower back.
He helped her into the back of the van as Ray paid the gas station attendant.
“Xav, what is he talking about?” Lexi asks.
Xavier shakes his head. “Nothing. Probably some random shit he says to anyone heading the same way. Don’t worry ‘bout it, babe.”
Xavier hopped back into the drivers seat. Chet stole Lexi’s spot but she was glad to be in the back with the girls and Ray.
Xavier was just finding the right tunes for the rest of the drive when the old man slapped a hand on the hood, causing them to jump in surprise.
“You’re all gonna die.” He spoke in such a deep tone that gave Lexi goosebumps.
The blonde just winked. And drove them off back towards the way.
Lexi however, couldn’t stop thinking of those words. What was he talking about? How much of Camp Redwood did this man know about? Obviously something she did not. And she wasn’t the only one.

She had suppose the mission was simple, two days with him wouldn’t- or it shouldn’t kill her. They had been more aggressive towards each other in the recent months, from more verbal arguments turning into almost all out brawls but he wouldn’t hit a woman. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀
Grasping at straws. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
Alan couldn’t refer to it as anything else. The entire point of their mission to stop Dr. Richard Torres from polluting the waters of Lake Erie was a low case for the Mystery Men of the 40’s, and a perfect mission for the two rivals. A two day all expenses paid for vacation typically, except for the minor arrest and take down planned for six o’clock the second morning. Planted in a hotel about 30 minutes into Michigan was beautiful highlighted by the clearest skies Ted had ever seen and even with the hot and hotheaded broad he was going to be staying with. They had taken a train here, quiet for the most part as Ted stared out his window and Hippolyta had read over her notes several times on Richard Torres. Only sounds heard in the train car were the small whispers of the children behind them and the roaring engine and chug of the train as it skated down the tracks, passing through the state. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
When they had arrived to the city, he had given her a small pat on her thigh as they approached the station. Hippolyta’s glare had made him exit the train first. Grabbing both of their bags as their feet touched the platform. They were undercover, no needed for masks or bracelets as she wrapped her arm around his. Posing as Henry and Mary Troy; Henry for Ted’s fathers name- easy for Polly to remember, and Mary- just in case Ted slipped up and called her Polly. The last name came from the only Greekish word Ted knew, and Hippolyta had gone with it to not hurt his ego- despite the temptation in doing so.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
The hotel was rather large, and Hippolyta had specifically requested with Alan for two rooms. Not wanting this to be any harder for either of them, he had agreed. Going as far as putting them on separate floors, leaving them two as far away from each other when needed.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
After they both had settled, they had met at the bar. Whispers on when and where Torres would be between sips of alcohol. They both knew they had to watch him today, and attempt to gather more intel on how to bring him down at his meeting tomorrow but Ted wasn’t going to be upset if he left the bar with some hostess that looked a little too long at him.
Several times and trust me, she counted- Hippolyta had slapped his hand or arm in an attempt to get his staring under control. Maybe that’s what she hated about him, his boldness.
“You are disgusting.” She rolled her eyes as she took her final sip. “Just like every other man, Henry… You are a pig.”
Ted’s ears went red, his face finally finding hers as she continued her rant. “Maybe if you didn’t shut down when you needed to talk about your problems, you’d like men a lot more. What was holdin’ up on an island gonna do for you?”⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
She blinked at him, sliding her glass forward on the bar and scoffing. “I know the man with murder charges is not telling me to give men a second chance. Better yet, a man who doesn’t even know why The Amazons are where they are now.”
⠀⠀⠀
His laugh angered her, and she showed it by her movements. Slight tapping of her nails against the mahogany bar as he continued to antagonize her. “I’ll guess. You got your little heart broken, and suddenly we’re all monsters. News flash, doll face… Not all men are out to hurt you, maybe some are just trying to show you what you’re missin’ out on.” ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
The scrape of the bar stool on the hard tile was loud, and she had stepped out. The blazer she had on was pulled tighter as she left the bar. Making it to the massive empty lobby before almost running into Torres. He had smiled and tipped his hat at her, a small wave and smile back gave her chills as she did so. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
She watched as he went to the elevator, pressed his floor and the elevator closed. Years and years of observing had shown her that he had pressed the very top floor, giving her and Ted exactly what they needed. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
It wasn’t long before the Cat had found his way into the lobby, he had probably taken the time to finish off his drink before coming to find her. “Mary?” He had asked, making her look up from the journal entry she was currently writing for the JSA Archives, part of her job as Secretary. “Henry. After running our expenses, we could stop in New York on the way home. Pizza from Gio’s like we used to get in high school.” Ted’s expression was nothing short of confused as he sat next to her, reading over her shoulder but not making out any words as it was in Themysciran. ⠀⠀⠀
“Yeah, that would be nice.” He said, his hand found her thigh. It always did when he sat next to her. She figured it was something he did with every girl who even let him get that close, but Ted would never tell her it wasn’t. ⠀⠀
“The bartender was telling me about the event tonight, all guests invited. He might be there.” He had whispered in her ear, to a passing civilian they would look like two love birds attempting to talk in public, but his lingering and hot breath on her ear didn’t help the image. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
Slowly, her head had moved to face his. They never really looked at each other, and when they did it was normally when they were screaming obscenities at each other halfway across the room during a meeting. “He didn’t break my heart. I want you to apologize.”. She whispered back, “and maybe I’ll go to the event with you.”
⠀⠀⠀
His eyebrow rose, a common thing for him, a cute thing for him when he was confused. “What did he do?” Just like that, that factor was gone, and she had pushed him away. His hand falling from her thigh and her rising off the small sofa placed in dim light far away from the reception desk. “Gonna run away again? Run away and start a new island?” He was standing now, she hadn’t even made three steps towards the elevator. “Why do you do that?” ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
“Why can’t you just apologize, why must you be so invested in someone’s personal history.”⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
“Most personal histories don’t turn broads into bitches, I’ve done nothing to you. You haven’t liked me from day one!”⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
“I didn’t like you because your first instinct was to flirt with me. You think of no one else, you are nothing but an arrogant selfish palooka with issues.” They were face to face now, she had made her way closer to him with every insult. “If you thought with your head on your shoulders and not the one between your legs, Ted, maybe I would like you. I wont even go into how much you look like him-“ ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
He had cut her off, with his hands in his pockets he had stuttered. “You- wait, who? What?” A lot was happening, they hadn’t spoken this much of their feud except in a meeting between them and Alan when debriefing. Being asked personal questions about their hatred wasn’t fun, and neither was this for the boxer. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
“I leave ‘em satisfied, don’t I? Scared you’re missing out, Mary?” He smiled, his grin almost reaching ear to ear. Hippolyta’s face was hot from anger, and she grabbed his suit jacket with both hands. “I hate you, you do nothing but bring up bad things for me. Every question, every smirk, every damn joke.” She was practically snapping at him, mere inches away from his face. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
The position they were in gave no way for either to look away. Facing each other head on, and locking their blue eyes together. “I want nothing to do with you.” Ted’s hands had found her waist and then her lower back. The drinks had set in for him, and his boldness was showing again. Pulling her closer to him until her arms were pinned by her body against his, to the point she could feel his breath on her lips. They stood there, him essentially holding her. A couples quarrel is what this would be chocked up to from the people entering and leaving the bar. ⠀⠀⠀ Neither had noticed how long they had been there, nothing happening just watching each other for someone’s next move. Hippolyta took it, leaning back from his grasp before pulling him into an actual kiss. Freeing her arms to almost dance her hands up his face, holding him as they caved. He was the one to break their kiss, and silently they made their way to the elevator. The soft music played as the doors reopened. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
“He lives here, she pointed towards the upper floor. Event tonight, we get up early and follow him out.” She briefed him, not making eye contact as her floor was the first to open. Stepping out and finding her room without looking back was hard, coming upon 207 and unlocking it as soon as she heard the elevator doors beep close once again. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
She stepped in, closed the door behind her and immediately fell upon the Queen sized bed. Her hand finding her face as she slowly dragged her fingers across it, rubbing at her temple once she crossed it.
“What did you do?” She asked out loud, to no one really. No Gods meddled, no random entities, no love spells and certainly not enough alcohol made her make that choice. ⠀⠀⠀
Shedding her clothes, she disappeared into the small but neat bathroom. Almost identical to hers at home with Diana Prince, making her feel almost comfortable. Hot showers always helped but not today. Almost as if she had a film of dirt on her outer skin she couldn’t wash away, maybe it was guilt or something more. ⠀⠀⠀
Sitting on a hotel shower’s floor might’ve not been Hippolyta’s greatest moment, but it felt as if her world had sunk. A million questions danced through her head as she felt the water pool beneath her. A loud knock could be heard, she didn’t know how with the water running but it was almost crystal clear. With the shower turned off, she had yelled, “who is it?”⠀⠀⠀
A mumbled Cat was heard, and she inhaled before telling him he could use his spare to get in. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
She had turned the shower back on when she heard the door latch. Knowing they had more than enough time to shower, she wasn’t surprised the Cat had opted out of one. ⠀⠀⠀
With the shower curtain, she was positive he couldn’t see anything if he decided to take a peek. She hadn’t even shut the door when she came in, but that was before she had thought a cat would come to the door. ⠀⠀⠀
Hippolyta was no stranger to the feeling she held between her legs, the sudden intrusion was only adding to the thoughts that were in the back of her mind already when she had jumped in this shower. ⠀⠀⠀
When he had knocked on the open door, her hand had found it’s way down. Now standing in the shower, if he HAD seen anything, it would look to someone as if she was just cleaning herself. Thankfully when she opened the curtain a bit, he had just held out a towel into the bathroom. His head not to be seen, just a very ironed tux sleeve and a white cotton towel. She had forgotten he had taken the towels they had given them at the desk, and her face was red. Thankfully unknown to him, she had said thank you and grabbed it from him before turning off the water. She realized she didn’t even actually get to showering before he had intruded and left her dazed, but nonetheless it was a much needed shower. ⠀⠀⠀
When she stepped out, she immediately shut the door. Even wrapped in a towel, seeing him in her state wasn’t going to do any good in a small hotel towel. She dried herself, placing the towel around her body and stepped out. She found the cat sitting on the end of her bed, twirling his thumbs as he looked at the closet door, opposite of her direction. “I uh- I’ll go, just wanted to make sure you got a towel.” He had stuttered out, his boldness gone. “If you stare at that corner, we can just leave together.” She prompted, moving past him to get her bag from the chair next to the bed. “It’ll take ten seconds.” She smiled as he turned to look at her, and then pointed at the corner of the room where the front door was. He smirked and stared, placing his chin in his hand as he waited. ⠀⠀⠀
Hippolyta’s silk black dress was probably scandalous for the 40’s, but on Ted’s arm they looked like a real couple, just with a man who liked to show off his prize. They still didn’t say much except for small smiles and light hearted comments as they walked through the lobby, only an hour ago they were here, in each other’s arms as lovers not enemies, but neither commented on it as they strolled into the banquet room that held the event. A lot of eyes were on them, but Ted just had grabbed her hand and spun her around as they entered the dance floor. His hand finding her waist once again, this time in the standard waltz style. “I don’t know how to dance.” She had said, looking up at him. ⠀⠀⠀
“Don’t dance much on that island of yers?” His smiled returned as she squeezed the hand that lead, their feet attempting to find a rhythm. “Not any American traditional dances, I suppose we are usually nude for our traditional dances but I do prefer this one to the typical.” Her head found his shoulder, following what other women were doing to their husbands. They swayed for a few, laughing and talking about how some of their coworkers would react to the sight. ⠀⠀⠀
When the song ended, Hippolyta had looked up. Her smile had finally returned, one she only showed around when Jay or Alan would make a witty remark or when Ma made her favorite for dinner. Ted had smiled back before they both looked up to find every couple on the dance floor staring at them. Hippolyta quickly let go of Ted’s hand and went to adjust his tie, which was slipping off his neck from such a bad knot. “They’re staring.” She whispered, fumbling with his tie once more. He had grabbed her hands and pulled them down, leaning into her ear to whisper.
“They’re not staring because you were bad, doll face. They’re staring because some guy from Brooklyn is dancing with a real life angel in his arms.” He squeezed both her hands, before leaning fully back and dropping her hands.
The event had ended an hour later, but they had several glimpses of the Doctor himself. Listening in as they danced, but neither telling the other they weren’t quite listening at all, instead enjoying the moment the two were sharing.
It was the elevator ride back up. It was a short one, but when the two entered as friends-
“Now you can say you’ve danced with Ted Grant.” He smiled at her, his hand around her waist as the other held the railing.
“I’ll be sure to put it on list of achievements right between taming a pegasus and becoming Queen of Women.” His eyebrows ironically cocked at her cockiness, his grip tightening as the doors to the elevator opened. “I thought I had an ego!”
She didn’t realize they were both out of the elevator on her floor until the elevator doors closed, and she stood in front of her hotel room with this man on her hips. Attempting to play the whole situation off as a good mission, she turned around and put her back on the wooden door. “Well, Mr. Troy… I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy your company tonight, but I believe it’s time for a goodnight.”
His eyes had roamed her, the black dress she wore with two small straps holding the garment on her olive skinned shoulders, and her curves very prominent to the boxer. “Well, Mrs. Troy… normal couples say goodnight a different way.” Suddenly, his hand was placed on the door, and his other on the small of her back. The Cat’s hand always did find its way somewhere it shouldn’t.
In a second, they were there. In that hotel hallway, with its pristine interior, great service and overall pleasant hotel experiences…
His lips were locked on hers, almost rough in his kisses. No thoughts, head empty, his leg had managed to work its way between her thighs, her hands in his suit as she clawed at his chest.
Deep down, this is what Hippolyta had needed. Every insult, every argument they had ever had had came down to this single moment, and maybe the one before or even when she was getting dressed. Her hips weren’t helping as she couldn’t control them, a single thought ran through her mind as she almost- She was just so close. “Theodore..” She whispered, panting against his ear as her hand found the back of his neck, pulling him closer once again. She knew deep down she wanted this, she needed this, her entire body is begging for him. She rolls her hips against his leg, and again, and again- once their lips met again, she was almost-
He had broken their kiss, for the second time that night. “Why?” Her only word she was able to breathe out before he had gave her a two finger salute, before leaving her practically panting against her hotel door. She had straightened herself, all while wondering if anyone had seen them or heard them as she was- to be blunt, humping his leg in a hotel hallway, and by how she felt- loving every second of it.
She had inserted her key and fell into the room, completely and utterly exhausted after the turn of events. Her face hit her pillow before she could speak a word of prayer and she was asleep.
She had awoken an hour later, probably from the uncomfortable dress or the even more uncomfortable mess between her thighs. Attempting to console herself, she placed her face in her hands. Breathing a sigh of disbelief as she swung her legs from the bed and realizing how badly she had messed up. Shrugging out of the tight black dress and everything else, she had given up. Returning all the items to her bag before finding her journal. It was only about 1 am, giving her time to figure out her plan for tomorrow.
Not even ten minutes into her work, she had gripped her pen so hard her knuckles were turning white. Many many thoughts of disbelief and doubt, along with a few moments of guilt that was soon replaced by “Why shouldn’t I?” She began talking out loud at this point, angry with herself but also with others. “I am a grown woman.” She said, “a woman.” She repeated, grabbing at the sheet that was the only thing covering her if someone were to walk in at this exact moment and climbed out of the big bed for one.
She didn’t know what she was doing or if she was really moving in that moment. Something had drawn her to his door, she was currently outside of his room in nothing but a hotel robe. She could’ve turned around at the elevator but she didn’t, she had continued.
Two knocks was all it took, not very loud ones either. The Cat had opened his door in nothing but a pair of his boxing shorts, complete with his logo. “I-“ She didn’t even get to start before he had stepped away from the door, pulling it open for her to come in.
Without hesitation, she stepped in. The white fluffy robe bit at her ankles, practically telling her to stop. She had mirrored his image perfectly; sitting on the end of his messy bed, but this time- it was different.
He had sat next to her, messing with the comforter on the bed a few times to get it situated behind him as he spoke, “are you wearing any-?” He simply asked, that eyebrow cocked high above the other. “Are you?” She pulled at the loose boxing shorts. A small laugh was exchanged between the two before he had asked, “Why are you awake?” He asked his second question, this time with more of a smile. “Nightmares?”
“It’s different.” She had blurted out.
“Different?” His hand found her thigh again, this time not shielded by clothes or even the robe as it had rode up at the ends. “Different from him, I did get my heart broken but it wasn’t that reason..”
Her head found his shoulder, a new comfort for her but it did make this conversation a little easier. “It’s 2 am, I’m sitting in a hotel with a man I’ve hated for six months… and for the last six hours I’ve been dreaming of things with you, and I just can’t do this whole thing.”
“What kinda things?” There he was, the reason for this whole mess. His cockiness, the boldness in his choice of words, and the way his smile made her heart jump. No. No, no. She did not want this. Her mind was just playing dirty tricks with her, she did not want to be in this hotel room and she couldn’t get her sex drive under control all of a sudden. He had reminded her so much of /him./ She could’ve puked. “Lots of things, killing you is one of them.”
The joke lightened the mood, her arms wrapping themselves around his arm that held the hand that slipped between her inner thighs. He was so close to her when he leaned in, his coarse whisper didn’t help. “I don’t know what he did, you don’t ever have to tell me. That’s your history, I’ll shut my trap aboutit, I stopped earlier because I want to make sure you want this. This could be some joke one night stand, or this could be somethin’ else.”
They were close, very close to each other now. His hand was stroking her inner right thigh, and he continued to speak against her head that laid on his shoulder.
“We are not going to do anything you are not comfortable with.” That was it, that level of consent given by Ted Grant was something she didn’t think she’d see or didn’t know if she wanted to see. “Wildcat..” She was looking at him now, untwined herself from him and his hand found her spot before she could get a word in.
“I’ll stop.” He said as his fingers attempted to coax her button out, her breathing became hard to focus on as she stared into those blue eyes for the third time that night, except this time she had several nerve ending chills running down her spine. “Don’t.” She grabbed his hand between her thighs, and pulled it away.
“This is a bad position, if you’re going to pleasure a woman there are several better angles to do that from.” She scoffed at him one last time in joking fun as she stood from the bed.
The robe had dropped as soon as she stood from the bed, giving Ted a full view of what he wanted. “Ted.”
She stood before him, his mouth opened at the thought and the picture in front of him. His hands finding her hips as he stroked up and down her body as she stood at the end of the bed in front of him.
“I want this.”
That was enough, he was up from the bed in mere milliseconds, their lips locked once again as they embraced. His rough calloused hands pulled at the back of her thighs, pulling her up as she wrapped her long legs around his waist, digging into the curve of his back with her heels.
This wasn’t going to be a typical thing, she had told herself. It was nothing more than a fun ‘one night stand’ as he called it, nothing more.
Soon, he was over her as she laid on the bed. Nibbling his way down her body and leaving small marks underneath the curvature of her breasts and peppered those kisses up and down until the hand that wasn’t supporting him over her found it’s way to her already hard nipple. His tongue signing his name into the other as he kneaded and played with her. Years of solstices and other traditional feasts showed Hippolyta the best of the best when it came down to the art of foreplay, but Ted Grant didn’t really need a grand entrance.
The hotel room was still and quiet as he stared down at her, nudity amongst amazons was never an issue- but with him? Hippolyta was insecure, and felt he was belittling every curve and scar that littered her body. “Please continue.” She had whispered out, one hand; that previously held a tight grip on his bed sheets, went straight for his jawline. Circling his lips that were once on hers and /her/ mere seconds ago. His mouth parted slightly as his eyes wandered over her.
Both of his hands found underneath her, pulling her by her thighs closer to make their centers touch. Small laughs were shared as his loose boxing shorts did little to hide the hardening member between his legs. “Isn’t this why you’re here?” He had asked, grinding against her as he did. Those same shivers rolling down her spinal chord once again. “I can’t do this with you… You’re my coworker, I barely know you…” She had whimpered against his cheek as his lips found her neck. Kissing along her jaw to her earlobe he spoke calmly and in a dominating tone, “Let me touch you.”
She could hear and /feel/ her heartbeat as his hand ran it’s way back towards her outer thigh. “Hippolyta, can I touch you?” He asked again, his third question for the night. A slight nod and a hip thrust in agreement was all he was given, but soon he found her spot again. This time his middle finger circling her as the others explored her folds. She could feel his erection hard on the back of her leg, and his grin from ear to ear in the crook of her neck. He brushes against her clit twice more before dropping his finger to her wet center.
The embarrassment was adding to the heat that was invading her as his smile fell, a small nibble to her earlobe was felt. “You’ve been like this all night? Poor thing..” Suddenly, she felt his finger slide in her. It took all her strength to not grip at him and rock her hips, all of her strength to not moan for more. “Ted..” A small short moan was heard, her voice choking in the back of her throat- unable to form a sentence.
“I- I need this… I need you- to-“ She wasn’t paying attention to her words as he twisted and fucked his finger into her. “Sh…” He had cooed into her ear, his thumb finding her clit as he continued his task. “We’re going to do whatever makes you the happiest…” His speech felt alien like to her ears as she couldn’t focus.
“You just- Youre so…” She was half moaning and half groaning out words as he slid in another finger, almost stretching her from the size of his hand compared to an average Amazon. “I can’t stop thinking about you fucking me, I can’t stop-“
“It’s okay.” He had spoke softly, withdrawing his hand completely. A soft but annoyed gasp escaped her lips. She knew she looked pathetic as he moved to stare at her once again. He was sitting back on his knees once again, and watching over her body. She was a quivering mess as he admired his prize.
“Please don’t ask me again.” Her small voice broke their silence in the quiet hotel room that was once filled with her moans.
“Do you trust me?” He had asked as he stroked his hands up and down her stomach once again. “Not at all…” She had whimpered, annoyed with his edging and his ego for the final time tonight.
As strange as it sounded to her, she thought this had been incredibly easy. Mere hours alone with the man and she was sprawled out on her back for him, completely nude as he raked his nails down the sides of her breasts. “Well, where do I fill out a form to dine on the Queen?”
The eye roll that followed made his grin return, right before it fell to continue his crusade along her body. As he moved down, he moved his body to the edge of the bed. His knees touching the floor as he pulled her to his tongue from her thighs once again. From the manhandling, his kisses that littered her thighs with hickeys and the overall ache from being toyed with by this man left Hippolyta a mess. He had moved in with no restrictions, his mouth over her as if he was built to eat her, his tongue flicking over her clit several times before coming to rest as he began to suck on her. His moan vibrated within her, and her head had bucked back against the bed, “do that again..” She had moaned, rather loud in a groveled attempt. The first moan he made came from simply how much he enjoyed eating her, the second was purely for her pleasure. A slow and verbal hum was made against her as his tongue flicked her clit and fucked her.
Her hand was tangled in his sheets, his smell lingering on the blanket that was beneath her. “Please touch yourself…” She stared down at him, their eyes meeting once again.
He had complied, giving her what she wanted- or more in fact, what she needed. Soon his shorts were around his thighs and his hard cock in his hand. As his tongue continued its assault, and the thought of him pleasuring himself to her flashed through her mind, “Ted… oh my Gods- please- I-“
Everything happens at once, a flood of relief washes over her body as his tongue continued to lap at her. Countless nights on Themyscira had never amounted to this kind of orgasm. His mouth was so much better than her own fingers and if she had known-
She had came in his mouth, his moan found it’s way out again, that slow groan that he held as he cleaned her. The noise of devotion for her and her pleasure.
She didn’t mean to stare, but as he rose from the end of the bed- she saw him in his glory. They had taken multiple showers together at the Brownstone, but they were never like this. Never in the afterglow of an orgasm had she seen Ted Grant.
As her heart came to a normal pace, he had moved his way to the top of the bed with her. The two finding their way into the sheets that were half on the bed and half off. He had one arm wrapped around her as she returned his jawline kisses. “You’re… different.” She said again, returning his love bites lower on his shoulder.

“There you are! What are you doing now you big dolt” A voice said just before the head that voice belonged to appeared hovering above Ruby. A white pony tail pointed down at her from the left side of that head and as Ruby rolled her own head back the rest of its owners body came into view. It appeared to be standing on the ceiling of the world and falling into the endless night sky from this angle and Ruby simply smiled up at it in spite of its chiding words, the hands resting tartly on it’s hips or the frown staring down at her.
“Hi-ya, Weiss” She answered brightly as if the other woman’s greeting had been as friendly as could be “I’m watching the stars”
The same frowning face stared down at a Ruby for a few seconds more before at last its owner sighed rolled her eyes and tossed her shoulders back in an exaggerated shrug.
“Of course you are” Weiss said with an exasperation which was even more dramatic then the shrug “why what else would you do on a frigid night like tonight except come lay out on the bare cold ground and stare pointlessly into the sky while you wait to catch a cold, or worse!”
“Exactly” Ruby chuckled back “well except the part about it being frigid and me catching a cold”
Even Weiss had to know she had been exaggerating pretty heavily to call this night frigid it was a bit on the cool side sure but only enough to add that crisp sense of… of… something! Ruby wasn’t quite sure what to call it but the coolness against her skin, not so much to be truly uncomfortable but enough to constantly remind her it was cool, added something surreal to the experience. Or maybe, she thought, it was the exact opposite maybe that something was not a surreal-ness but a reminder, as constant as the cool air against her skin, of just how real it all was, that she was really here in the midst of the cool outdoors staring up at real stars and not warm inside somewhere looking at a picture. It didn’t really matter, she decided, whatever that something was she knew she felt it and that’s all she really cared about. As her thoughts wandered, Ruby had looked away from Weiss and returned her gaze to the vast clear sky and she was surprised when Weiss reappeared not behind and above her but right next to her on the ground.
“Well If you insist on laying out here foolishly”she started sternly as she appeared and moved to lay next to Ruby “you can at least let me lay here with you, just to keep you warm and make sure you don’t freeze to death of course” she continued her voice softening suddenly as she moved to wrap one arm around Ruby and snuggle up against her.
“Of course” Ruby agreed looking away from the stars twinkling above her to smile into the eyes twinkling beside her. Weiss smiled back but neither said anything more and after a moment they returned their attention to the night sky.
They lay silently that way for a long time before at last Ruby spoke, softly and without turning her head or looking at Weiss “Do they tell the tale of the lovers in Atlas?” She asked “ it’s not exactly the most common fairytale even in Vale and I’m not sure if you would have heard it.”
“I’m not sure” Weiss answered honestly “there are a lot of stories about a lot of lovers you’ll have to be more specific”
“they say” Ruby started and her voice was soft almost dream like as she told the story without ever looking away from the stars “that there was once a noble woman more beautiful than any other and with her beauty came offers from every nobleman in the world promising wealth, power, happiness and everything in between in exchange for her hand in marriage. But for all they offered, for each man who had come to her to show what wonderful people they were, and many of them were good people, who really honestly wanted to earn her affection, she hadn’t found a single one she could love. Until one day a young common born guard happened to glance in her window at just the right moment. Their eyes met and they smiled at one another and instantly they fell for each other. The noble woman invited him in and they spoke briefly before he had to return to his duties. From then on they both found every excuse they could to be together and before long the endless potential each had felt in that first lucky glance turned into a love greater then either had ever imagined. The love was not to last however, the noble woman’s father saw what was happening between his only daughter and a mere foot soldier and became furious he locked her away in a tower until he could arrange a suitable match for her and he sent the guardsmen off to war.” Ruby trailed off, at first Weiss thought it was a dramatic pause but it lingered a little too long and Weiss began to wonder if that was the end of the story.
It seemed like a rather sudden and unhappy ending but… her thoughts were cut off suddenly as Ruby spoke again. Her voice had changed it was suddenly rushed and the younger girl had looked away from the stars for the first time since the story began, actually rolling over slightly to speak directly to Weiss
“ok I know the beginning is a little cliché but it gets better and…”
“Hush Ruby!” Weiss cut her off, her tone revealing none of the smile which crept across her face as she recognized the self conscious worry in Ruby’s voice. It was so like the dolt to start head long into a story and only realize halfway through that maybe Weiss wouldn’t like it. In fairness to Ruby there was no reasonable way for her to tell how much Weiss had been enjoying it. Weiss had never looked away from the sky above her and she doubted that even now staring right at her, Ruby, from her side profile view, recognized the smile plastered across Weiss’s face. There’d been even less evidence for Ruby to gauge Weiss’s reaction with when she’d still been staring up at the stars herself. None of which really mattered because she was enjoying the story. How could she not? The calm quiet night, the beautiful black, light speckled canvas unfolding before her, the cool not quite cold breeze which made her appreciate Ruby’s warmth against her side that much more, all of it helped build the perfect atmosphere. Perhaps Ruby’s story had been a little cliché and a little predictable but there was a reason such stories had become cliché and just now, with Ruby at her side, all Weiss wanted was to hear it’s simple tale of love, told with the passion, an unusually quiet and serene passion for Ruby but passion none less, with which she told it. “just keep telling the story” Weiss finished a moment later letting her soft voice reflect the longing she felt for Ruby to continue.
Ruby paused a moment longer, first to smile at Weiss then to look back up into night and let the peacefulness of the world around them reassert itself before she continued in that dream like tone “it didn’t take long, after only one short month word arrived confirming the woman’s worst fears her love had died in the fighting. Stuck in her tower and deprived of all hope she fell deep into despair. In her darkest moments she began to cry out and beg her guards to put an end to her misery. The gods saw this and were moved by the depth of her love, pitying her they gathered up everything she was and deposited her amongst the stars. Then they reached out again, found the soul of her lover and gave him a place in night sky as well. But even this would prove to only keep them apart, doomed to spend eternity staring across the horizon at one another.“
“Realizing this the woman broke down in tears once again and finally hope was found, the tears fell from her face and became a river of stars. A river which stretched out toward her love, perhaps in time it would reach him and she could cross it and at long last they could be together.”
A silence hung in the air as Ruby finished the story and Weiss found she was actually holding her breath afraid even simply exhaling might break the perfect stillness of the night. That silence couldn’t have lasted more then a few seconds but it felt much longer before Weiss released her breath whispering “It’s a beautiful story Ruby. I…”
“There look” Ruby interrupted pointing to a portion of the sky, her tone lacked the dream like, almost mystic, quality it had as she told the story but it was still much softer and more serene then was Ruby’s wont ”it took me a while to orient myself but see that’s the woman.. and there her lover and the river between them. It’s getting close isn’t it? I like to think it won’t be much longer now”
Weiss took a moment to examine the constellation Ruby had pointed out, and she smiled as she did because Ruby was right the “river” was close to reaching the “man” but even as she recognized that another thought itched at the corner of her mind. “That’s a pretty thought but..” she hesitated and frowned “well It’s sad really isn’t it because your right, Ruby, it is so close, they’re so close but they’ll still never be together, I mean the night sky never changes.” Weiss was a little shocked by how sad she sounded, how sad she actually was as she said that, she wanted those lovers to be together with a passion she would never have expected such a short simple tale to inspire.
“Maybe not to you and me” Ruby said and something in her tone told Weiss she’d thought about this before, “but to the stars? Who knows maybe our whole lives, hundreds of our lives are but a moment to them and really does it matter how long it takes as long as in the end, after everything, they get to be together.”
Weiss didn’t have an answer to that and that ever present silence reasserted itself as she tried to find one. “Maybe.” She whispered back after a moment. It was all she was able to come up with. Astronomy had never been a particularly important subject on Remnant and she didn’t know much about stars or their life spans, so she supposed it was possible Ruby’s theory was correct, at the very least Weiss certainly couldn’t disprove it but it was hard to imagine those little dots twinkling away in the sky unchanged and unmoving for centuries or more and yet able to grow and change, and if it were possible for that river of light to grow wasn’t it equally possible for it to go out? If the night sky did change after all, who said it could only get brighter maybe after all those years the river would spread only to find the lovers ripped apart once again as the light of one or the other dimmed and went out…
Weiss felt suddenly tiny and insignificant as she contemplated the eternity spreading out before her and strangely that tininess made her appreciate the night infinitely more. It was as if the recognition of her own smallness forced her to recognize those things which seemed small to her and she stopped to take it all in. The warmth radiating off of Ruby, the slight pressure of their bodies against one another, the rush of a cool gentle breeze against her skin and the indescribable peacefulness of the silent world around them, Weiss could have stayed in that moment forever and she closed her eyes and let herself melt into it. As she did she found she could suddenly feel individual blades of grass poking or brushing against her skin and the slow rhythmic pattern of Ruby’s breathing and then a stirring beside her. it was slight that stirring almost more imagined then felt and at any other time Weiss probably wouldn’t have noticed it but she felt it now and she opened her eyes slowly, gradually returning to the present and wasn’t surprised at all when Ruby spoke up a moment later.
“you wanna hear something even crazier?” She asked not quite laughing at herself
“What’s that?”
“The real reason I came out here was to see if the story was true.”
For a moment the comment didn’t sink in and Weiss lay smiling up at the stars and then she blinked and sat up suddenly. She looked down at Ruby with one eye brow raised in an expression which simultaneously questioned Ruby’s seriousness and her sanity and found that she couldn’t come up with a single word with which to reply to that.
Ruby snorted at Weiss’s reaction and a little at her own absurdity and continued “well ok I didn’t really think it was true but well I’ve been thinking it turns out a couple of the fairytales I heard as a kid, and always thought were nothing more then that, fairytales, are actually true or at least had some truth in them and so I wondered what other stories might have some truth in them. I always liked that story, although it wasn’t really one of my favorites growing up. I always preferred stories with action, heroics and monster slaying...” Ruby moved her hands in imitation of martial arts moves as she spoke and it made Weiss chuckle.
It was hardly the first time Weiss had seen that imitation and considering how good Ruby herself was at “action, heroics and monster slaying”, it always amused her how bad of an imitation it was. Weiss shook the thought aside and smiled down at the goofball she had fallen in love with.
“Somehow, dolt, it doesn’t come as a great surprise to me that you like adventure over romance.” She said and somehow didn’t quite roll her eyes as she said it.
Ruby smiled impishly back “well okay, yeah but it’s not that I don’t like romance. I mean in all the best adventure stories the hero always saves someone and they fall in love and live happily ever after its just romance stories are always so mushy and boring.”
“By which you actually mean you always wanted to save the damsel in distress and just have her fall hopelessly in love with you and not have to deal with all the drama that’s in a good romance story” Weiss challenged.
“Well that is what happened isn’t it?” Ruby teased back
“Ruby Rose” Weiss answered in a dangerous tone “I will spar with you right here and now if you really think I’m some princess who needs you to rescue me!”
“Don’t be ridiculous” Ruby laughed “you’re not a princess you’re a queen! Her majesty the Ice Queen, slayer of grim and freezer of adorable girlfriends! Long may she reign!”
Weiss scowled at her a moment longer but the Ice Queen melted before her “adorable girlfriend”, she always did after all, and smiled as she responded wryly “You’re lucky we both left our weapons inside, it’s not worth the effort to walk all the way back to the house just to try and beat some manners into you, not since it seems to have failed all the other times anyway.”
“Plus you’re afraid you’ll lose.” Ruby answered smugly unfazed by Weiss’s threats
“Oh, is that so? I think you’ll regret those words, Ruby Rose.”
“I think you’ll have to make me, Weiss Schnee.”
They held each other’s gaze challengingly until suddenly Weiss shrugged and then jabbed Ruby ruthlessly in the side with a finger.
“Hey!” Ruby protested wagging her own finger under Weiss’s nose “that’s not what I meant! Besides it was no fair I wasn’t ready”
“Well are you ready for this?” Weiss asked and promptly leaned in and kissed Ruby
“N…no” Ruby blushed a moment later but then her tone shifted “so I guess you’ll have to do it again, now that I am ready.” She smirked
“Why? What fun would that be?” Weiss answered with a teasing air of superiority
“well I think it would be plenty of fun but mmph…” Ruby started mumbling grumpily before being interrupted with another kiss “you’re mean.” She finished after the kiss but she was smiling almost as brightly as she was blushing.
“And just you remember that” Weiss said and laid back down beside Ruby. As she did Ruby moved to wrap herself around her, snuggling her as tightly as she could, and lay her head on her shoulder before closing her eyes and treasuring the embrace but then her eyes popped back open. “hey! You went and got me all off topic” She said.
“And what topic were we on exactly?” Weiss answered without moving
“Why I came out here!” Ruby answered in an offended tone although she didn’t make any more effort to break off the embrace then Weiss did.
“Oh I thought we settled that, it’s cause you’re crazy and trying to catch a cold.”
“NO!” Ruby answered and this time she did go so far as to lift her head and stick her tongue out at Weiss although she laid it right back where it had come from before she continued “it was because of the story, the one you said you liked”
“It was a good story…” Weiss answered thoughtfully
“See” Ruby smiled “I think so too and I’d been thinking about it a lot recently and the more I thought about it and those fairy tales that turned out to be true the more I wanted to come look at the stars again. I hadn’t done it since I was a kid and I don’t know I thought maybe with everything we know now I’d see something different maybe I’d find out there was some truth to that story too, I didn’t really expect to but.. well I still wanted to come look at them again.”
Weiss thought about that for a moment a decided it probably wasn’t quite as crazy as it sounded on the surface, no crazier then a dozen other things Ruby did regularly at any rate but then another thought occurred to her “I suppose that makes as much sense as you ever make” she said “but why that story, I mean like you said it wasn’t really one of your favorites growing up and why did you feel like you needed to tell me that’s why you came out here?”
“Well that’s because of umm.. you.” Ruby answered and it was clear she was feeling embarrassed “I just I really love you, Weiss, and when I think about you and… and things I always think about that story.”
There was something odd about Ruby’s tone something Weiss couldn’t quite place and then it hit her like a ton of bricks
“Ruby?” She asked softly cautiously “are you afraid you’ll lose me? Like the lovers in the story lost each other?”
“Yes” the answer came back in a tiny quiet voice as Ruby sat up slightly so she could look Weiss in the eyes, her own on the brink of tears “aren’t you?”
“I…” Weiss began but hesitated, trying to swallow down a lump which had suddenly appeared in her throat, “of course I am.” She continued “How could I not be, I love you too and considering what we do for a living, it terrifies me sometimes.” She fell silent and, despite the single tear which had broken free and run down her cheek Ruby seemed to take comfort in knowing Weiss felt the same way she did. She managed a sad smile which said she would be ok but said nothing before laying her head back against Weiss’s shoulder.
They lay silent for a time taking comfort in each other’s presence until at last Weiss spoke up again “I think I understand now what you meant when you said you wanted to see if maybe there was some truth in the story, even if you didn’t really think there would be. It’s the same reason I so wanted to believe you were right about the stars and the river because maybe, maybe if the story does have some truth and if the two lovers really will be together again some day then maybe we don’t have to worry. Even if one us...” she stopped unable to actually say the word “even if something happens” she said instead “if we just love each other enough then we know one day we’ll be together again, and like you said isn’t that all that really matters.” She paused again and took a deep breath “but just because I want that to be true doesn’t mean it is and it scares me, Ruby, more then I know how to say. I’ve fought monster and creatures and seen things which should only exist in nightmares and not one of them scares me as much as the thought of losing you and I would so love to be able to say look see look at the stars, at the lovers, they were okay in the the end and we will be too, but I can’t and I hate that I don’t know what to do or say to quiet my fears and I hate even more that you feel the same way and I don’t know what to do or say to help quiet yours either.”
“Maybe not” Ruby said and there was something almost like humor in her voice “but I think I actually might.”
“I shouted at my dad once” she started “I regretted it later and still do in some ways but I know he never held it against me because I was young and hurt and angry and he knew all that too. It wasn’t so long after my mom died, I was still just a little kid really and my dad, he was incredible. After all he lost he kept soldiering on, taking care of me and Yang and most incredibly he kept loving us. He would laugh and joke and we could feel how much he still loved us. One night when I really missed my mom I started crying and he saw how hurt I was and tried to comfort me to tell me that it was going to be ok and that he loved me and I called him a liar I still remember the exact words I said “you don’t love me or if you do you never loved mommy” he didn’t even flinch, or maybe he did and I was just to young and upset to notice but it doesn’t matter because what he did in response was ask me “ why do you think that?” And he wasn’t mad or upset he simply asked it calmly and seriously and I screamed my tiny little furry back at him “because you couldn’t, you couldn’t have loved her and still love me! Its not possible!” I bawled and he just smiled, it was a sad little smile I can still see it now, and he said “Ruby it hurts to lose someone you love, I know, Ruby, I know, it hurts and I did love your mom just like I love you I promise you that Ruby. But there’s a price that comes with love, to truly love someone to wrap so much of your happiness and your being into them, you leave yourself vulnerable, vulnerable to them and what they might do to you, vulnerable to others who might use your love for them against you and vulnerable to losing them. I won’t lie to you Ruby it never gets less painful every time you lose someone you love it’s like losing a little part of you. So you have to decide is all the happiness, the wonder of loving them in the first place worth the pain of losing them, I think it is, if I could go back knowing what was going to happen I would still choose to love your mother. The time we had together was infinitely better the eventual pain of losing her and I will always love you and your sister no matter how vulnerable that might leave me but not everyone makes that decision some people decide it’s better not to love, better to be on there own and not have to face that pain. I don’t think you’ll be one of those people I think your braver then that, stronger then that but in the end I can’t decide for you it’s a decision you’ll have to make for yourself.” I didn’t really understand at the time but the words have always stuck with me and I came to realize he was right, love, it is worth it. All the pain it could ever cost can never compare to how wonderful it is to have people in your life you love. I know that Weiss and have believed it for a long time. So when I say I’m afraid of losing you Weiss, I am, when I come out and stare at the stars because I want some tiny reassurance that maybe just maybe I don’t have so much to be afraid of, it’s because I do so desperately want something anything to reassure me it will all be ok but it doesn’t really matter because even when I don’t get that reassurance, even when I’m so so scared of what might happen. I still love you and nothing could ever cost enough, hurt enough to make me stop loving you. but there is one thing you can do to help and I hope I can to it to help you too and that’s what your doing right now, be here with me, so that I can experience that wonder, that happiness, that love and remember exactly what is I’m getting in exchange for that risk, because when I do I can’t imagine what more I could ask for.”
Weiss stared at the love of her life in wonder. It wasn’t the first time she had been amazed by Ruby Rose and she doubted it would be the last but it took her by surprise every time and made her lover her even more. “You’re right” she said when she found her voice again “love will always be worth the risk. I think I knew that before just never had the words to express it but you’re absolutely right, Ruby, love does leave you vulnerable but it is worth every ounce of that vulnerability, and I can’t think of a single thing I would rather do then be here loving you.”

Home - Part 22
Tumblr media
A/N - So this is the last part my lovelies! (Well there will be an Epilogue) i just want to thank everyone who has kept with this til the end and for all the love you’ve shown. 💕
"Buck, i cant stop looking at them" i smiled down at my two boys laying side by side in the hospital cot.
Tumblr media
"I know, their perfect" he beamed before turning and kissing me "you did so good baby"
"I didn't do anything, i didn't even know what was going on!" I chuckled, when they took me down to the OR the babies heart rates dropped suddenly and they had to give me a general anaesthetic and get them out quick.....when i woke up again i had my two boys.
"You did everything! You carried them for the last... what, 8 months? You've kept them safe and healthy"
"I guess i did do that, I've got the stretch marks to prove it" i rolled my eyes.
"we still need names, we can't just keep calling them 'the boys' you know"
"Mmmhmm okay but can we talk about it after i sleep?" I asked covering my mouth as i yawned.
"Sure doll, you get some sleep"
"You'll watch them?"
"Of course, Steve will probably be in here in a minute he was so excited" Bucky shook his head and laughed.
"Okay, Just let me sleep for an hour and wake me up okay?"
"You got it".
Tumblr media
When i woke up again i looked over to see Bucky sat with his eyes closed, both boys sleeping on his chest. He wasn't asleep just resting his eyes, his thumbs gently stroking over their tiny legs as they slept soundly. It was the most beautiful sight ive ever seen, i couldnt help but reach for my phone and snap a photo.
Tumblr media
Yes im gonna be that mom who takes photo's of everything! Don't judge me!
"What are you doing?" He asked opening one eye and looking at me suspiciously.
"Taking a photo of my boys" i smiled "i told you to wake me up in an hour Buck, how long did i sleep? Its dark out!"
"4/5 hours" he shrugged casually "enjoy it while you can doll, you wont sleep well for a while"
"Unless they take after their mama and like their sleep too? God i hope they do!"
"Their gonna need a feed, you feeling up to it?"
"Yeah".
Bucky got up and carefully passed me one of the twins while he kept the other close to his chest and sat back down.
"His so tiny.... i feel like i'm gonna break him" i said as i lowered my gown and tried to get the baby to latch onto my breast "He latched on straight away.... oh my god this is so weird..."
"Thats my boy" Bucky winked making me laugh quietly so i didn't disturb the baby.
"So names..... i was thinking Steven and Samuel as middle names? Both of them are important to us" i said looking down at the baby in my arms.
"I love that idea, they'll love that too"
"Is Steve gonna Cry?"
"Probably" Bucky chuckled knowing what his friend was like.
"Okay and first names?"
"How about Thomas....After your dad? I know you miss him" Bucky suggested.
"I really do, i wish my mom and dad were here to see this" i quickly wiped a tear away "Thomas Samuel Barnes?"
"I like it doll"
"Me too" i smiled looking down at the larger of the boys in my arms "i think this is Thomas"
"Okay and now for this little man"
"How did we not decide on names before today?" I shook my head.
"Because we've had our hands full with the girls and Jack's case.... we thought we had more time" Bucky shrugged before getting up and switching out the babies.
"I don't really know what names i like"
"Me either, i didn't think it would he this hard to name them" i said as i got comfy with the next baby.
"You know just before the girls went to bed i heard Allie talking to the bump again.... how do you feel about Theodore?" I asked raising an eyebrow questioningly "thats what she called one of them.... we could call him Theo or Teddy for short?"
"Theodore Steven Barnes? It kinda works" he nodded "for the record i'll probably never call him Theodore"
"It doesn't surprise me babe, the girls rarely get called by their full names either"
"Thats true"
"So are we agreed?"
"I think we are" he grinned as he got settled with Thomas again.
"Did Steve come see them while i was sleeping?"
"Yeah but only for 10 minutes, i didn't want to disturb you.... plus visiting hours where nearly up. His coming back up later with the girls though, then his gonna take them home and watch them til we're aloud to go home"
"Sounds perfect, i miss my girls already"
"Im sure their missing you too"
"Their probably too busy with Auntie Becca to care" i smiled over at Bucky who was shaking his head.
"Okay Teddy is done, can you take him please.... i think i need some more pain relief"
"Sure doll" he laid Thomas in the cot and took Teddy from me before sitting back down to winding him.
I held a hand to my stomach and winced as i pressed the call button for the nurse.
"Your gonna be feeling that for a while doll, your gonna have to take it easy too. Let me help you with things"
"I'll be fine...."
"You will take it easy and let yourself heal"
"But Bucky you cant look after the girls and newborn twins on your own! I can't just sit around and do nothing...."
"You can and you will, Ive already spoken to Steve and his gonna come stay with us until your better"
"Okay, its not like he isn't always there anyway. I sometimes wonder if he actually lives with us and i just don't know about it"
"You don't mind that Steve's around alot do you?"
"Course not, i love Steve"
"Good, you'd tell me if you had a problem with it?"
"You know i would"
"Ms Y/L/N, how you feeling?" One of the nurses smiled as she walked into the room.
"I need something for the pain, other than that im good" i smiled at her.
"Okay lets see what i can do about that".
It was about an hour later when Steve walked in with Becca and the girls.
Steve came straight over to me and placed a kiss on the top of my head, Rosie was cuddled up to him but held her arms out to me as he leaned down.
He let her down to lay beside me and she instantly cuddled up to me.
"Hey mama, how you feeling?" Steve asked.
"Im doing okay, sore.... but its worth it"
"Their beautiful" he nodded looking down into the cot beside me we're they both slept.
"Congratulations you guys, their beautiful" Becca smiled hugging Bucky before getting a closer look at the babies.
Brooke and Allie stood with Bucky looking down at Thomas and Teddy.
"Girls, these are your baby brothers" Bucky said quietly to them and they smiled.
"Their so tiny"
"What are their names?" Allie asked turning to look at Bucky.
"Well this one, this is Thomas" he pointed to the bigger twin "and this is Theodore" he pointed to the smaller one, Allie gasped and looked up at me.
"I knew it!.... i knew that was his name!"
"Okay can i hold one now?" Steve asked practically bouncing on the spot making us laugh at him.
"Sure Steve, hey Buck why don't you let him hold Teddy first?"
"Sure doll" he carefully lifted Teddy and placed him in Steve's arms "this is Theodore...."
"I know that Y/N just said so"
"Theodore Steven Barnes"
"What!? Are you serious?" He said his eyes going wide.
"Yeah pal"
"Guys...." he said with tears in his eyes "i dont know what to say"
"Told you he would cry" Bucky chuckled and Steve gave his his best bitch face.
"If i wasn't holding Teddy id kick your ass"
"Yeah whatever pal"
"Language! Uncle Steve!" Brooke said with wide eyes as she turned to look at him.
"You said a bad word Uncle Stevie!" Allie added making us all laugh.
"Yeah Uncle Steve you said a bad word! Don't be saying bad language words around my kids"
"God your such a mom already"
"Y/N?" Allie said walking over to the side of my bed.
"Yeah babe?"
"Does this mean your our mom too?"
I looked over at Bucky who shrugged with a smile, i knew he was telling me it was my choice what i told her.
"Yeah Allie, i'm your mom too..... if you'll have me?"
"Really??" Brooke asked coming to stand beside Allie.
"Yeah"
"And... can we call you mom?"
"You can if you want to, whatever your comfortable with" i smiled brushing a piece of hair back from her face.
"Im gonna call you mom" Allie said casually before running back to her dad who was smiling as he listened to our conversation.
"You guys are gonna make me cry again" Steve said sniffling from the chair in the corner.
"I think i might join in this time too" Becca added quickly wiping a tear from her face.

After spending the longest two days in the hospital the boys and i were finally aloud to go home. It was the best feeling being back home, knowing i had Bucky and all my babies under one roof and plus Bucky and Steve had been amazing.
They wouldn't let me do much though.....They'd even carry me upstairs!! I was now managing to walk around by myself, slowly, but i was on the mend.
Sam and Wanda came to visit us the day we got home, Sam had actually cried when we told him Thomas's middle name.... even though he tried to hide it.
Wanda had sat cooing at the twins for hours and saying how much she couldn't wait to meet her little bundle of joy.
I was sat in bed just finishing the feeds, Bucky was next to me holding Teddy, the girls were asleep on the bottom of the bed, we'd been watching Aladdin and they had all fallen asleep halfway through. I smiled as Aladdin and Jasmine were singing about 'A Whole New World' realising my whole world was in this room, i never thought id be this happy.
"You okay doll? You seem a million miles away" Bucky asked pressing a kiss to my lips.
"Yeah, just thinking about how lucky i am that i met you. You've made me the happiest woman in the world Buck.... you gave me 3 beautiful girls and my handsome boys, who already look so much like their daddy by the way!" Bucky chuckled as he laced his free hand with mine "i love you baby"
"I love you too, i couldn't ask for a better mama for our kids" he smiled bringing my hand to his mouth and kissing my fingers "marry me?"
"What??...." i looked at him with wide eyes "did you just...."
"Yeah" he nodded with a huge smile on his face "make me the happiest man in the world and say yes?"
"Are you sure...? I mean i dont want you asking just cause we're having a moment...."
"Doll, this isn't just me being in the moment i promise" he said leaning over to the drawer in his bed side cabinet. When he turned back to me he had a black velvet box in his hand "ive had this for a while, i was just waiting for the right time"
"Buck...." i gasped feeling my heart racing as he opened the box to reveal the most beautiful ring id ever seen.
"What do you say doll? will you marry me?"
"Yes!! A hundred times yes!" I smiled with happy tears as he slipped the ring onto my finger and kissed me.
"Its you and me doll, always"
"I think i'm okay with that".

okay sorry top 5 piarles and/or yukierre and/or other bfs AUs
This is a fun one! I don’t even know if these are top 5 but top ones I think of these days
1) Yukierre Swim Team Au - roadtrip edition! Yuki and Pierre decide to roadtrip across the states to a spring break swim meet instead of flying. They stop in New Orléans on the way. Pierre googles the French Quarter the morning of and tells Yuki half fake facts the entire way there, and Yuki takes them to the Creole restaurant he’s been talking about for months. I almost wrote a getting lost singing karaoke part of this but thought it would be too cheesy - when I found out a few weeks ago they literally did that irl in Austria last year…. Pierre smiling at Yuki singing at the top of his lungs in the passenger seat, whole road ahead of them theirs, hoping it stretches as far as this journey is willing to take them :)
2) Yukierre Sport WAG Au. Inspired by the Miami football pictures. Yuki is still on F1, Pierre is a Red Bull sponsored player, and Yuki meets him doing  his summer training out at the Red Bull LA facilities. They ditch some boring sponsor party together, Pierre chasing behind Yuki after he just  says “There is much better places here than this. Im going now” and heel spins out of the party. Yuki takes him to a burger food truck, promises they wont tell their trainers. Hanging out all the time for the next month! Pierre eats Yuki out by his very expensive rental pool! Going to the beach together :) They DON’T talk about it when they have to go back for their seasons. But Pierre starts like... stupid instagram memes for Yuki to read when he wakes up. And Yuki doesn’t get half of them but he laughs back anyways... Feels these butterflies in his chest when Pierre heart reacts his messages. Kicks himself for being stupid about it, but he waits for them all the same
3) Storm crisis intervention researcher Charles/storm chaser Pierre. I think I’ve talked about this on briefly before. my beloveds. They fell out of touch some after college. Pierre is currently in the Caribbean. Once he puts the cameras and the raincoats and the socks soaked through away for the evening, he pulls out one of the notebooks he still uses that he got during school. Pierre writes about every way he felt alive today in those dampened, water stained pages, until the adrenaline runs out and his fingers stop shaking.
Meanwhile, when Charles hears about hurricanes about to touch down in the West Coast of the islands in his morning debrief, he opens the bottom drawer of his desk and switches on the radio walkie he has set to the emergency comms lines. pretends he’s not dreading hearing a familiar name.
4) Engineer Pierre! Pierresteban. Pierre drops out of racing in their Formula Renault Series - a crash takes him out for too many rounds and he loses his sponsorships and that’s it really. Esteban hasn’t seen him for years - he used his mom’s LinkedIn to stalk his profile once but it just said he was at some university in Southern France, and it’s not like he can request to follow his Instagram now. Which is why it’s a surprise, when he gets to the factory his first day at Alpine, and Pierre is there. He’s as loud as Esteban remembers, laughter rising through the hallways before he even steps into data room. His eyes are sharp and clear when he shifts his gaze to Esteban’s frame taking up the doorway, and suddenly Esteban has never been so interested at tyre degradation graphics as he is right now.
5) Yukierre Knight AU! Yuki is a squire for an old knight who is halfway to his deathbed, but insists on keeping his rank (and his squire). So Yuki spends most of his days accompanying him to various town activities and tending to his horse. He can't help but notice the knight in the stable next to him, that comes in every morning to tend to his horse. He works in silence, weaving the its mane in the same plait before the sun rises, and takes it out every evening, despite having a squire of his own. Yuki has heard the stories of him around the town: called to the King's guard his first year as a knight, and sent away to protect the kingdom in the North. The first squire the town has sent in years. He came back not 6 months later, with a fierce depth to his stare and a scar on his flank Yuki can only see when he lifts his hands to braid.

I feel like Ive aged at least 6 years since covid started. Im angrier. Less adapted to being outside then I used to be- which is saying a lot. This time last year I was?? Actually healthier mentally then I had ever been and looking forward to having the house alone for a month which?? Was the most freedom I wouldve ever had.
A lots fucking changed. I drove halfway across the country- all 30 hours at once with my big brother AND two elderly dogs, plus my cat. All animals on too many drugs (the vet said they couldnt overdose, and then failed to give any further instruction) cami peed on herself twice, unable to move. I had to waterboard her in Phoenix, a truly terrifying hell city where all the roads are raised and overlapping and its a hot as shit cause its?? What june?? Time was so fake this year I mustve just been stoned the whole time till I ran out of weed, and since moving its been a relief to be able to turn off the spinning anxious thoughts for a few hours
my big brother joined us. He brought a new dog with him which?? Is always a lot, plus I have this pack of dogs now cause the puppy wouldnt leave the super cancer ridden dog alone, and Im able to get her cbd regularly here, so shes always comfortable now instead of just?? Sometimes which is a lot nicer. We didnt think shed make it to chrisrmas. I thought shed die with me home alone to take care of everything, like always. It was almost a relief, I wouldn't have to coach my brother through the grieving process at least, and I had already finished. Its hard now even, for me to realize she might even have another christmas (but I wont hold my breath)
I feel safer going outside here then I did in Austin. I only went out a handful of times in texas, for the last few months I was ordering almost all groceries, and only going to the store once mask mandates were mandatory (theyre not anymore. Im so worried for texas. I missed a huge freeze by mere months. I dont think my elderly dogs wouldnt survived it. If I was alone with them, Im not sure I woudlve.
My parents took my brother to mexico with them. I begged them not to go, told them how irresponsible it was to travel across boarders. To visit an island and take all the plane germs with. I told them that even if my mom and brother were staying at home all day with me, my dad was still going to work and he didnt know what his coworkers were doing. That they wouldn't know what the people on the plane were doing. That at any point they could become the stupid americans that killed half an islands population.
They left a week after today last year. The boarders were closed the next day. Their friend has been traveling back and forth ever since. I have no idea how, except for the fact shes white and rich and wont hesitate to destroy a child, so I can only imagine how shed treat costomer service.
I will no longer allow this angry aggressive woman to ever make me feel bad, and I will allow myself to finally fight back. Im an adult, maybe not all the time (cause lets be real I'll always be a bit too eccentric for most) but when I get angry and allow myself that anger, it's not a bad thing. Anger doesn't have to make me feel like Ive done something wrong. Im usually very just in my actions, and I wont allow my parents influence to tell me all anger is misdirected and hurtful for reasons I couldnt understand. Its okay for me to be angry.
I think being alone with animals for months is at least reassuring that my childhood was unreasonable if nothing else. Which of course is a silly polite society term for pretty fucked, if nothing else.
My aunt had to gall to say weve had a good 2020 cause our family wasnt hurt, and I had to walk away from the zoom call. I haven't attempted communication with any of them since, not that I normally do. Of course none of us died, all rich old white people, most of them retired and able to stay home all day (not that all of them did, I learned about my grandfathers routine and just.. Im honestly surprised no one got it yet. Of course I knew from the beginning if anyone was gonna get it and die, it probably wouldve been me. Hence the 8 months of solitude before the move.
Was the move in August?? Im so unsure about time. Even with 2020 vision.
I tried to date when I moved here. Strictly on tinder. What was the point? On and off testosterone due to the wonders of texas, hadnt changed my body nearly as much as they should've a year after being on them. I look much more handsome now. Im also allowing myself to toss gender aside completely. He/him doesn't mean man, and they/them dont mean nonbinary, so why not mix them since Im?? Not really either.
It wasnt even a thought process like that to start. Much more "this is nice" which I think more gender should be allowed to be. Dont gotta be deep just comfortable.
I wont ever allow my parents to forget what they did. I ended up with three dogs I didnt want (I was so looking forward to not having any dogs) and I ended up taking care of my brother. Again. Its easier without my parents at least. Everything always is. My dogs are even happier. Cami finally isnt anxious 24/7. Again, a sad reminder my childhood wasn't great. Daisy is healthier. Trauma can be stored emotionally or with health issues, often both. I think the cancer dog getting better and?? Surviving and thriving so much longer then the vet said (how good was my old vet?) Is another unfortunate nail in thay proverbial coffin.
Im not as soft and openly loving. Im even more touch starved somehow. Harsher. I still want to choose love and compassion, but Im not letting myself fall into the trap of being so nice people wont be nice to you. Fighting back is something I wont feel shameful about, because it never stopped me from doing it completely anyway.
I was already reaching this on my own though. This was just more coffins, more nails. This didnt need to happen. We know our government let this happen. Its still letting it happen. Im not sure when Im getting my vaccine. My big brothers sick of quarentine and keeps trying to get us to go out. Sometimes I yield, and we go to a park, or the top floor of the parking garage. I get a vegan hotdog from nearby. We talk and laugh and were genuinely just. Boys being boys.
I shouldn't have to deal with parent shit anymore. I do though, especially since two out of three are unemployed and we can really only afford to live here cause of them (they owe me if anything though. Especially with my brother and these animals) I hope I can get a job soon. Or maybe even go back to school. Im lucky I had so much saved up (for top surgery, which I guess wont happen before Im 25 like I really tried for. I wouldve done it before now, but texas waitlists and rules kept holding me up. I literally went to an appointment in dallas, a 4 hour drive, just to found out the surgeon canceled on me for the second time)
Its incredibly depressing, and I know Im lucky to have had that stash. So many people didnt have anything and lost so much. People lost people. Half a million at this point. I remember when it got to 300,000 and I just?? Felt so awful it was so close to how many people we lost to AIDS. Its over that by so many now. It doesn't really stop, does it??
Is that catholic guilt?? Or maybe just irish guilt in general. Is it something I inherited or earned through all the end of the worlds and once in a lifetime recessions Ive been through. Im not sure how many off the top of my head, theyve been coming since I was so small and its always more and more. Im not even catholic anymore. I cant stop being irish though, even though the brits tried (and succeeded. Weve lost a lot. The current royal cotastrophy is bullshit as well, the only person who deserves a royal title is from Meniappolos
My home is decorate all inside for st patrick's day. My big brother loves it so Im going all out, and its def making me feel much more irish then usual (which is a lot Im over half)
I think I just wanted to say Im not the same. I hope I can still be happy an obnoxious is public. I wonder if I remember how

One night in Tobirama’s bed turned in to two. Two nights in Tobirama’s bed brought him back three days later to stay for another two nights. Rumors flew from one corner of the village to the other as they were wont to do but Kagami knew the truth; it wasn’t the sheets or anything they did between them that kept him coming back, it was the warmth in Tobirama’s eyes as they woke slowly in the rising dawn, the affection bare and open that he knew damn well how lucky he was to have earned.
So no, it was not the fact that the man possessed hands clever enough to be illegal which had him showing up on a familiar doorstep for the third time this week. It certainly didn’t hurt, though, and he could admit to that.
Kagami’s smile stretched from one side of his face to the other when the door opened, faltering only because the breath hitched in his chest to find Tobirama in a casual yukata belted loosely at the hips. The man didn’t even seem to properly understand how deadly he was. It was always so effortless for him.
“I was starting to wonder where you were,” Tobirama said, beckoning him in. “You know you don’t have to knock, right? I keep telling you to just let yourself in.”
“And let your wards burn my head off? No thank you.” Placing his sandals neatly to one side, Kagami straightened only to squeak with surprise when he was immediately pulled in to a kiss.
“You’ve been keyed in to my wards for years.”
Tobirama swept away after stealing his breath and dropping a bomb on him as though entirely ignorant of the effect either would have on his guest. It took a minute or so for Kagami to work his way through that, wobbling down the hall and in to the living room on unsteady feet. Even after years of friendship and weeks of dating it still managed to blow him away how much trust this man put in him. What he had done to earn it he wasn’t sure but he was happy for it nonetheless.
He found his boyfriend in the kitchen with both hands covered in bubbles, clearly only halfway through the night’s dishes. Kagami rubbed at his stomach and wished that he’d had the foresight to bring along something to eat, evening patrol was always boring and boredom usually led to hunger, but it was far from the first time he had gone without food. His stomach wouldn’t be happy with him come morning but it would survive.
Or such were his thoughts until Tobirama looked over one shoulder with an indulgent smile and nodded to the other end of the counter where a plate sat off to one side with an upturned bowl covering it. Curious, he padded across the room to lift the bowl. Then he clutched at his stomach again to cover the motion of reaching up to touch his heart, almost moaning as the scent of soba noodles washed over him. His favorite. When he peeked over he finally saw there was a place already set for him at the table just waiting for him to bring the food over and enjoy - which he did after pressing himself against Tobirama’s back and showering his gratitude across the man’s shoulders with gentle kisses.
It only took him a couple of minutes to inhale the delicious meal, quick enough the rest of the dishes weren’t even finished yet. He brought his bowl over to join the rest and snatched up a towel to do his part drying the ones already clean and resting in the second sink.
“How did you know I hadn’t eaten?” he asked, carefully not moving his gaze away from the bowl he was sliding in to a cupboard.
“You never eat during patrol,” was the simple answer.
“I could have stopped to grab something on the way here.”
From the corner of his eye he could see Tobirama giving him an indulgent smile. “And spend more time away from my stellar company? What a suggestion.”
As much as Kagami wanted to rib the man for being so full of himself he was right, that was the entire reason he had passed on the chance to feed himself. It wasn’t his fault that Tobirama’s company was so compelling. He knew better than to say that, though, lest he suffer through a round of gentle teasing. Most of the people who didn’t know him well would assume that Tobirama and teasing were two words that simply didn’t go together in a sentence but Kagami had learned years ago that he was merciless in having a laugh at his loved ones’ expense.
Recently he had also discovered the man to be merciless when it came to teasing in bed as well. He still wasn’t sure if he loved it more than he hated it but he wasn’t going to ask for it to stop. It was way too good for that.
“Anyway, the food was still warm which means you didn’t cook it all that long ago. It’s pretty late. What time did you leave the office today without me there to drag you out?”
“Not late enough for the scolding I can see you preparing in your head,” Tobirama murmured.
Kagami eyed him suspiciously. “Mhm and then when you got home I suppose you just relaxed away the whole evening?”
“I may have brought a few documents home with me.”
“Aha! I knew it!”
“Oh yes, do pardon me.” Tobirama set the last dish in the second sink and pulled the plug from under all the bubbles. “How horrible to get more work done today so that I might be free to lie in as long as I like tomorrow and watch the sunrise paint you like a masterpiece.”
“Guh,” was all the intelligent reply he could come up with.
It just wasn’t fair how easily his partner could pull lines like that out of thin air. More than aware of the amusement that followed him, Kagami abandoned the last few dishes to drip dry themselves and stomped off down the hall with as much ire as he could muster. Which, admittedly, wasn’t exactly much. He could hardly be angry at Tobirama for showering him with all the attention and affections he had long dreamed of, more so than he had even dared to imagine in his own fantasies.
Despite how recently their relationship had gotten to this level it felt surprisingly natural preparing for bed in a home that wasn’t his own. Already there was a drawer in the dresser filled with spare clothing in his size and the bathroom now sported a proper cup for holding two toothbrushes where Tobirama used to simply lay his down behind the tap. Oddly unhygienic for someone so obsessed with order in every other facet of life. Kagami was smiling to himself as he dropped his dusty work clothes in the hamper and slid on a clean if threadbare yukata to sleep in. Getting used to being here was hardly a bad thing. And he supposed that it hadn’t really been that short of a time since the two of them got together, not really, it only felt that way because he’d been floating around with his head in the clouds ever since their first date. Compared to other couples he supposed they had actually moved a bit slower than most.
Saru in particular was a big believer that the first date was a perfectly acceptable milestone for a first time. That had always seemed a little fast to Kagami but since he hadn’t actually had any experience until Tobirama unexpectedly returned his feelings he couldn’t exactly say he was an authority on the matter.
With only a few months of dating experience under his belt he crawled in between soft cotton sheets and watched Tobirama wander in to the room, apparently finished setting the kitchen back to rights. He could feel the weight of red eyes watching him. Rather than face whatever thoughts were in that gaze, sure to evoke some kind of embarrassing reaction from him, Kagami chose to burrow underneath the blankets instead and roll over in a mockery of sleepiness. Surely a very convincing act.
Tobirama’s laugh said otherwise.
As he listened to the sounds of the other getting changed and popping in to the bathroom for nightly ablutions Kagami told himself to stay calm. When he felt the bed dip and another body fit itself close up against his own, regardless of what he’d just told it to do, his heart skyrocketed off at speeds previously unachieved by humankind. Obviously Tobirama felt it.
“Is everything alright?” he asked.
“Just fine! Nothing’s wrong!” To Kagami’s utter mortification his voice came out as little more than a squeak.
“Your mouth says nothing but the thunder going on between your ribs says something.”
Nervously licking his lips, he squirmed. Then he froze back to stillness when that rubbed certain parts of their anatomy together that he was only too interested in at the moment. “Okay. Um. Maybe I do have something on my mind. That I, er, wanted to suggest?”
“Go on,” Tobirama practically purred in his ear.
“Sex!?”
If the earth would have opened up and swallowed him whole right then he would have been very grateful. After the lonely hours on patrol he’d spent trying to come up with some kind of suave and casual way to bring up this topic he’d thought he at least had something better than nervously blurting out a single word like that was the entire suggestion. The silence that followed his outburst felt like it weighed on every inch of his skin.
“Would you care to elaborate on that concept?” His partner asked eventually, tone careful and devoid of any inflection negative or positive.
“Not really,” Kagami said honestly. “Pretty sure I just embarrassed myself enough for one night.”
“And if I happened to mention that you may have piqued my interest?”
“I would still be planning how big of a hole I’m going to dig so I can crawl in to it and disappear forever.”
Tobirama laughed softly, warm puffs of air skating across the back of his neck, then strong arms were pulling him impossibly closer. “Perhaps I should take the lead on this one, hm? You do seem to enjoy a little...guidance, shall we say, in these matters.”
“Nnnggg.” Kagami covered his face with both hands but the man was right. He did still need a little help navigating the embarrassments of intimacy.
“Did you wish to ask questions or were you hoping for a practical demonstration?” He was laughing, the bastard. Not outright but there was definitely some amusement in his tone. Considering how ridiculous that outburst had been one couldn’t really blame him but he didn’t have to be so obvious about it.
Squirming did nothing to break the silence. Neither did squeezing his eyes tightly or counting backwards from ten. Eventually Kagami was forced to admit that he needed to open his mouth and use actual words like a big boy no matter how painful it was. Easier said than done, though, when he could feel Tobirama’s pulse in the wrists holding him so tightly, clear evidence that he wasn’t the only one affected by the current topic of conversation. Was the idea of laying with him really that exciting?
“If you’ve been waiting for me to say that I’m ready or something,” he mumbled, “this is me saying it.”
“Ah. You know me so well.”
“You say that like you don’t know me even better.”
His body rolled easily in to the open space when Tobirama shifted away, falling naturally on to his back and biting his lip when six feet of albino muscle shifted in again to cage him from above. No sight on earth would ever be more deadly or more sexy than the feral grin looking down at him.
“I hope I never stop learning new things about you,” Tobirama murmured.
Kagami would have replied if he weren’t suddenly robbed of all his breath by the hand skimming up the inside of one leg. He bit down in to his bottom lip and valiantly did his best to hold eye contact as fingers traced senseless patterns higher and higher, a featherlight touch that made his muscles twitch and his blood race with anticipation. Those fingers had already discovered a multitude of ways to drive him over the brink of insanity. Tobirama never seemed to be short of ways to drive him wild with desire, forever touching and tasting and exploring parts of him that he never could have imagined would be so sensitive. Much as he loathed to admit it he really had been enjoying the ‘guidance’ he’d gotten so far. Being the center of all that glorious attention and creativity was an honor many would kill for.
Certainly many of them would do worse than murder to be him at the moment, to have Tobirama slip a hand under the edge of their sleeping yukata and drag upwards with an aching slowness then pull away to trace a single finger along the crease of Kagami’s groin. He even seemed to delight in the shivers that rewarded his efforts and grinned in response to a half-hearted glare. They were both comfortable enough with each other that there wasn’t much need for either to wear undergarments to bed. Kagami regretted that unnecessity if only for how it exposed his helpless excitement even more. It was fairly hard to misinterpret the large tent in his clothing after all.
“Today”-with a leer Tobirama rolled to fit one knee between both of his prey’s-“I believe I’d like to learn what sounds you make when I press inside you.”
“You can’t just say things like that!” Kagami cried.
He would have protested further but for that dastardly knee that slowly pressed upwards in to him, his hips automatically responding by rolling to meet it in a slow grind that was more tease than anything else. Words in general escaped him along with a breathy moan when Tobirama shifted up off the mattress to slide entirely between his open thighs in a way that was rather hard to misinterpret. The hunger in his eyes was also pretty hard to mistake for anything else. He was not a man who found any need to be shy about his desires, something Kagami admired him for. If only he too could find that confidence.
What he found instead was cool air kissing across the skin of his chest when Tobirama plucked the knot of his yukata open like he was offended by the barrier it made between them. For all the nights they had spent together and all the times they had stripped each other to the skin, sweet exploration always falling headlong in to the sort of mutual heat that leaves no one unsatisfied, his partner had never pushed him to go beyond that imaginary line drawn in the sand which so many people considered powerful somehow. Already getting close to his late twenties, Kagami had dealt with his fair share of teasing for remaining a virgin. He was more than ready to remove that title from his conscience.
If only his cheeks would stop being so obvious about how embarrassing he still found this sort of thing. Or how embarrassed he was about being embarrassed.
He expected Tobirama to completely strip him but as soon as his yukata was parted and pressed out of the way it went ignored. For some reason he couldn’t quite explain there was something incredibly erotic about being only mostly undressed, as though his partner simply couldn’t wait to keep touching him. And touch him he did. Kagami arched under the fingers that traced patterns on his skin like they were determined to map out his entire body all over again for the dozenth time.
“One of these days,” he gasped, “you’re gonna find a way to literally kill me with pleasure.”
“Hm, I do believe I once heard a man refer to an orgasm as ‘a little death’.” Tobirama flashed him a wicked grin full of teeth before leaning down to sink those teeth in to his neck.
“Ahhh god that’s terrible. Good. Teeth good, words terrible, fuck don’t stop.”
“I don’t plan to.”
Directly in contrast with his words Tobirama pulled away for a moment to lean over towards the bedside table, tugging open one of the drawers and pulling something out. When he held it up Kagami felt a little silly for not guessing what it was.
“I presume you know what this is for.”
“Lube,” he replied inanely. He did know what that was for. In fact he even had a small tube of it at home, although it was probably expired by now since the one and only time he had attempted to touch himself like that was years ago. He’d been renting an apartment with several other clansmen of an age with him at that point and one of them had nearly walked in on his little experiment. It was such a close call that he’d never tried again even after moving out in to his own home, the idea of it forever connected with the potential for public shame in his mind.
In a way he was sort of glad now. Watching Tobirama’s hand disappear between his legs and feeling that first touch against his entrance, slick and foreign, pandered to some very specific preferences he hadn’t even known he cared about until Tobirama unknowingly began to fulfil them. There was something special about knowing that only the man he loved had ever touched him in these ways. It was somehow the very opposite of possessiveness but he couldn’t for the life of him think of the word, not with smooth lips taking his own in a deep kiss just as that thin questing finger pressed inside him for the first time.
Grateful to his partner for stifling the gasp that would have been ripped from his throat, Kagami struggled to bring his thoughts in to order, wanting to respond in some way but unable to think of how. He couldn’t always be the only one receiving some kind of stimulation. That didn’t seem fair, even if Tobirama had repeatedly assured him that seeing him in the throes of pleasure was a treat in itself. He reached out with some vague thought about exploring with his own hands but they only got as far as the soft white hair framing the face above him, gripping and pulling in time with the second finger pressing in to him. Their kiss was broken when he threw his own head back and gave vent to a wordless cry, eyes closed, every nerve ending in his body on fire.
“W-what happens if I don’t last?” He managed to ask despite the lack of air to breathe.
“That would depend on whether you feel you can keep going afterwards,” Tobirama answered with the same blunt tone as he did most questions.
“Keep going!?”
He cracked his eyes open to see a surprisingly gentle smile looking back. “You’re always allowed to say no. Feeling a little overwhelmed, are we?”
“It...it feels good,” Kagami admitted.
“Mn, it’s supposed to.”
A very good point, well punctuated by a twist of fingers. Fear of disappointing his partner gave him the urge to ask more questions but pride, stupid useless pride, reared its head at the worst of moments as it was wont to do. It almost sounded like someone else’s voice boldly declaring, “I can take whatever you throw at me!”
If they were sparring he had the distinct impression that he would have regretted those words instantly. But they weren’t sparring and he’d already said it - and it wasn’t as though trying to keep up with this man wouldn’t be pleasurable. He trusted his partner to stop if he did become overwhelmed. Well, more so than usual. Generally the second Tobirama laid hands on him he was overwhelmed but it was always in the best possible way and he had yet to come away unsatisfied or with any sort of regret.
He was just having a little trouble computing the sheer levels of satisfaction waiting for him if two fingers was already threatening a nirvana the likes of which he’d never known.
Barely half a minute later his thoughts were derailed yet again with the introduction of a third finger. Kagami writhed, unsure how else to deal with all these new sensations, and when Tobirama’s weight began to shuffle down the bed he assumed it was to give him room for whatever contortions he was apparently trying to work himself in to. Then sharp teeth nipped at the inside of his thighs and for a moment he went entirely rigid with surprise. It was followed immediately by a deep shudder, eyes rolling in to the back of his head.
“Feels very different like that, doesn’t it?” Tobirama’s voice asked smugly from somewhere near his crotch.
“Nnngggg,” he answered intelligently. Clenching around the very welcome intrusion inside him had indeed felt different. Better. He considered doing it again but he was already in danger of cumming before they actually got to the supposed good part of this so instead he reached blindly downwards until his fingers came in contact with solid broad shoulders. When had he let go of Tobirama’s hair? It was so hard to keep track of anything but those wicked fingers.
A curious sound greeted him, followed by soft kisses much too close to somewhere that would have ended this in moments. Kagami struggled to remember how to form sentences.
“I’m - ah god - am I not r-ready yet?”
“Well that’s hardly a question for me,” Tobirama mused in a teasingly thoughtful voice. “Do you feel ready?”
“Yes!” Kagami wasn’t sure if he was answering the question or responding to the fingers scissoring inside him. Probably both.
Either way his point seemed to come across well enough for Tobirama to chuckle lightly and gift him with another dusting of light kisses before pulling his hand away. “I suppose I could be convinced to have mercy.”
Strangely enough being empty so suddenly did not feel like a mercy until he saw his partner reaching for the lube again. Even someone with as little experience as him could guess what that was for. He couldn’t even bring himself to care that he was trembling with sheer anticipation as he watched Tobirama rummage around in the nightstand and come out with a condom. Doubtless they were both clean but neither of them had thought to have themselves tested; a condom was definitely the safest way to go. Not to mention he wasn’t sure how he felt about the mess this was supposed to leave behind. How did one clean inside themselves?
Kagami didn’t even realize he was holding his breath until Tobirama paused and looked down at him, bemused, to say, “Now would be a terrible time to pass out.”
“I’m good,” he wheezed. At the sharp lift of one pale eyebrow he drew in a deep breath and fumbled his way through a shaky grin. “Just nervous. There’s no way to tell if I’m actually going to enjoy this until it happens and that’s kind of wreaking havoc on my instincts to be prepared, you know?”
“You seemed to enjoy the preparation well enough,” Tobirama pointed out.
“Ah, true. I-I did. A lot. Please stop letting me stall or I will somehow talk myself out of something that I very much do want.”
Getting on with this was definitely worth a little amusement at his own expense. Tobirama was definitely right, he had more than enjoyed the pleasure a few fingers could give. What he was worried about was all the talk he’d heard about how different the next part felt and specifically the ones that said it might hurt. He'd never been sure whether that rumor was just about girls or not.
Thankfully he wasn’t left waiting any longer. Strong hands traced the inside of his thighs one more time before gripping under both of his knees to lift up and out. It felt natural to wrap them around his partner’s hips and Tobirama seemed to approve so he hooked his ankles together and tilted his head back to stare at the ceiling. It felt somehow rude to stare while Tobirama lined himself up, though he definitely knew when the man had found his mark, pressure against a now very sensitive area slamming his eyes shut and setting him to trembling again.
He was grateful for the kisses that tried to distract him but it wasn’t quite enough. Probably nothing on earth could have entirely distracted him from having Tobirama’s cock pressing in to him with agonizing slowness, stretching his entrance to the very limits. By the time the head finally slipped in he was gasping and the sensation of it startled him in to clenching - which of course only made him gasp a little more. Through the wave of pleasure he still found room to feel a little smug, however, when he heard Tobirama let out a low groan in his ear. It was good to know he wasn’t the only one enjoying this.
“I may have miscalculated.” The words came out a little strangled as though Tobirama had struggled to force them out.
“Ung?” Coherency was a little beyond him at the moment but Kagami did his best to make some sort of noise that sounded vaguely like concern. He really hoped nothing was actually wrong. Stopping when they were finally getting started was definitely not on his agenda no matter how nervous he had been.
“Gods, you feel so much better than I imagined.”
If he weren’t already probably about as red as the blood filling his cheeks Kagami just knew that he would have flushed all over again. “Don’t be weird!” he cried. “And m-move! Please?”
For perhaps three whole seconds he very seriously considered begging just to see if that would get the man to continue. He’d never been all that attached to his pride anyway. As it was, it appeared to be unnecessary. Tobirama seemed to get all he needed from that single ‘please’. When he moved his hips the motion was still as controlled as he ever was and yet from the quiet sound that escaped him again it was clear that such control came at a mighty effort.
It didn’t matter how many times they laid together or how long this relationship lasted; it would never stop blowing his mind that he was able to test Senju Tobirama’s infamous self-control.
His mind was maybe also blown by the feeling of that pale cock burying itself deeper and deeper inside of him. Barely a fraction of an inch before it would have pressed up against his prostate his partner stopped and Kagami couldn’t even spare the energy to be ashamed of the wounded groan he made as it pulled away again.
“Hnnnaaaah do that again!” he demanded mindlessly.
“With pleasure,” Tobirama shot back in a strained voice.
Then he did it again. And again. Somehow he managed to set a perfectly even rhythm while both of them filled the room with all sorts of lewd noises and half garbled sentences praising each other. It made sense now why so many people lost their good sense in the face of any prospect of experiencing this. Kagami understood now how sex could make people so stupid. It was worth it. This was worth the years he had spent pining and the months it had taken to get to this point, would have been worth any amount of begging or pleading or even murder if it had been asked of him. Right now in the moment it was hard to think of anything he wouldn’t do to make sure this never ended.
Of course, because the universe was unfair, it did have to end and it only took a minute or so before he could feel it rushing up on him with all the force of his partner’s strongest suiton. Each time Tobirama rolled his hips back the head of his cock pulled at Kagami’s entrance and each time he slid back in was like a religious experience, like feeling complete at the same time as too full in the best possible way. He wasn’t nearly ready for it all to be over. Male hubris had led him, just like every other man before him, to assume that he wouldn’t be like the rumors, that surely he could last longer than a couple of minutes his first time. But as much as he didn’t want it to stop there was no denying the tension building, coiling, roiling inside of him faster than he could process.
Fingers digging in to whatever bit of his partner he happened to be clutching, Kagami tried to communicate through the sparks bursting behind his eyelids.
“I’m-! Hah, god, I’m gon- nnh!”
Tobirama mumbled something against his skin that might have been some kind of snarky quip if not for how absolutely wrecked he sounded. Whatever he was trying to say was lost to the sounds of their gasping breaths and the whine building in Kagami’s throat, higher and higher until it cracked in to broken syllables and spilled over his lips like the fire spilling through his veins.
Obviously he had experienced his fair share of incredible orgasms at the hands of the man above him; none of them could have possibly prepared him for the world-melting sensation of having Tobirama hike both of his legs up just that little bit higher and slide in that last portion of an inch deeper, driving against his prostate for the first time and tearing a garbled shout from his throat as he went crashing over the edge. His entire body clenched and arched, unsure how else to deal with this influx of sensations, and it was all only made better by the distant awareness of how Tobirama himself had gone stiff. Their bodies twitched and jerked together while their cries intermingled until they slowly petered away to become soft helpless noises whispered in to the sweaty skin of each other’s necks.
Chest heaving for air, every muscle in his body lax in the aftermath, Kagami stared up at the ceiling through cracked eyelids and wondered if this was what nirvana was supposed to feel like. He’d listened to his fair share of horror stories about other people’s first times and for a brief moment he pitied them that they would never have the experience he’d just had. It was only a very brief flash of pity, though. Tobirama was his alone and if he could help it he would not be allowing anyone else to so much as fantasize about the man.
He’d never been the possessive type before but exceptions could be made. That was just how an Uchiha loved.
Gentle fingers traced the shape of his hips before slipping away to reach up and cup his jaw, neither pulling nor guiding but simply holding him as though he were made of precious glass, stroking along his jawline with a careful thumb. He could feel the tremble in Tobirama’s other arm where it held his weight against the mattress and smiled a dopey little smile. Even completely wrung out the man was solicitous in his quiet way.
“Thank you.” His voice soft and thoughtful, it took a moment to realize that Tobirama really had spoken.
“F-for sex?”
His partner let out a single bark of laughter. “No- well, I suppose yes. It is only polite to thank someone for a gift.”
“Don’t be embarrassing!” Kagami shouted, squirming aimlessly.
“Your presence is always a gift; that you trust me with your heart and all your most vulnerable moments is even more so.”
“Gah! You have to stop or I will literally die. At least wait until you’re not- not- you know!”
He couldn’t bring himself to reference the fact that Tobirama was still buried inside him, softened now but no less perfect. What embarrassed him the most was how much he enjoyed the sensation. Obviously during the act it was a good feeling - to make a massive understatement - but he hadn’t expected how complete it would leave him feeling to enjoy the afterglow like this without moving, locked together like they were one being made whole, unwilling to separate for as long as possible.
Tobirama seemed to know what he was referring to, genius that the man was, but unfortunately he took that as a cue to slowly pull away. In his absence Kagami felt empty in a way he never had before. It was a strange feeling, although it did give him a bit of insight in to that fabled ‘round two’ that was apparently so popular.
Letting his partner clean him was incredibly embarrassing; the only thing that stopped him from pushing Tobirama away was the thought of reaching around to clean himself while the other sat there and watched. Or worse the thought of doing a poor job of it because he couldn’t see that area and he’d never had to do this before. His clenched fists and gaze set resolutely on the ceiling seemed to cause some amusement but thankfully nothing was said about either that or the way his face was doing yet another impression of a ripe strawberry.
As soon as the other man stepped off the bed to go wash his hands Kagami spun and buried himself underneath the covers in the hopes that it would muffle the ridiculous urge building in his chest to squeal like a little girl. That had been everything he had ever hoped it would be and more. He felt like an adolescent mooning over their first crush and honestly the description wasn’t very far off, though he had left his adolescence behind years ago. By the time Tobirama came back in to the room he had managed to compose himself enough that hopefully he didn’t look like some wide-eyed innocent despite the fact that he still felt that way every time they kissed. Seeing the other walk around naked so brazenly certainly was not helping.
“Feeling alright?” Tobirama asked as he lifted the covers to slide back in to the bed.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Dunno why everyone says you’re always sore after.”
“If they are sore then it’s because they were not stretched properly and their partner is either selfish or ignorant.”
Rolling inwards to curl up against all that pale muscular heat, Kagami smiled. “You are neither.”
“Mn. Arguments could be made.”
True as that was, he chose not to say anything. Arguments could be made against all shinobi for being ignorant or selfish in their own ways but he wasn’t much up for a philosophical debate at the moment. His brain still resembled mush just a little too much for that.
“What I meant to say earlier”-Tobirama’s fingers combed through his hair, a soothing touch-“was thank you for challenging me. Thank you for having the courage even if you didn't believe it was a real date. You took a chance that even I dared not take and I admire that. I’m grateful. If you hadn’t we might never have had what we do now.”
“Didn’t I tell you to stop saying embarrassing things?” Kagami mumbled.
“Perhaps you did, I can’t seem to remember.” Tobirama hummed as though in deep thought.
Lightly slapping him on the chest did nothing more than make him chuckle. Luckily for him he did have a very nice laugh, hard earned as it usually was. And he did have a point. Even now Kagami wasn’t sure where he’d plucked up the courage to issue that challenge, one date in exchange for winning a game against the smartest man in the village, but he was glad that he’d done it.
“So what you’re saying,” he mused teasingly, “is that between the two of us I currently hold the record for most romantic gesture. You should really put in a little more effort or I might start feeling unappreciated.”
“Oh I'll show you some appreciation alright.”
With an almost feral grin Tobirama rolled them over, kissing him through the laughter that bubbled out, and Kagami decided he really had no problem with wherever this was headed. Now and in the future. He would never have a first time again but the two of them still had many firsts left to experience together and he couldn’t even imagine making these memories with anyone else. Everything in him would always belong to this man, wholly and completely.
As his partner had said, it took a lot of courage for him to issue the challenge that so drastically changed their lives, but he was glad that he’d done it. Tobirama was the first and only man he had ever considered going to so much effort for and if their relationship continued along the paths it had been going down there would never be another.
Kagami smiled, holding tightly to the one he could still hardly believe was his own. He was more than alright with having this - and only this - for the rest of his life.

FIX YOUR SLEEPING SCHEDULE (1-2 months)
Try to wake up earlier every day. Like 5 - 10 min earlier than the day before. Until you wake up any time before 8am or so…
If you struggle with waking up & snooze button is your bff:
Put your alarm clock as far away from the bed as possible.
Drink a glass of water right after you wake up.
Pour another glass of water on yourself right after you wake up.
Prepare some coffee the night before (try the cold brew method), leave it by your bedside, drink it after you wake up. Alternatively, buy some caffeine pills and take one right after waking up with a big glass of water.
Have your blinds/curtains open the night before, so that it’s bright after you wake up.
Try to go to bed 5-10 min earlier than the night before.
Track how many hours of sleep you’re getting. Aim to get at least 7h per day or 49h per week.
Increase your sleeping hours incrementally. Aim to get at least 1h of sleep more than the previous week. For example, if this week you slept for 41hrs, aim to get an extra hour of sleep next week, so it’s 42h. Once you get enough hours of sleep and wake up early-ish:
Try to keep your sleeping schedule consistent. It is really important to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. Even if it’s weekend. Or even if that means getting less than 7hrs of sleep that day. I’d say waking up at the same time everyday is the most important step, which will help you the most with fixing your sleeping schedule.
START EATING HEALTHY (1-2 months)
This step really depends from person to person, but firstly I suggest you take some blood tests to see if you have any deficiencies, etc. Especially, if you struggle with cravings.
Try intermittent fasting, if you struggle with binge eating or overeating. As it will help you to learn to listen to your body better: when it’s hungry, when it’s full, etc. It’s really simple, there are many methods of Intermittent fasting, but I’d suggest 16/8 for the beginners. (Google it for more info)
DRINK ALL THE WATER. Again, if you’re not drinking enough water, try to level up your water game incrementally. Download some water tracking app on your phone to help you. Drinking water will make you more energetic, increase your metabolism, and decrease you appetite (among many more benefits). If you really struggle with meeting your water intake:
Reward yourself when you meet your daily/weekly goals.
Drink through the straw - idk why, but you are going to drink much more if you use a straw. Trust me.
Get a nice water bottle.
Flavour your water with fruits etc.
Check this video for more tips
Track what you eating. I would really suggest tracking your meals for around a month. Because, most of the time people have no idea that what they’re eating is unhealthy. Again, download an app to your phone for that.
Make your own meals once in a while. Not only this will save you money, but it’ll help you to see what’s really going into your body. Start by doing that once a week and build it up depending how much time and energy you have.
Eat less meat and more veggies/fruits. Go to your local market and buy some veggies/fruits, you have never tried before. I’m sure you’ll find your new favs. Eat/buy less meat. Not only it’s good for the environment, but it is good for you, too. Get a veggie burger instead of the beef one, etc.
Cut dairy. Find your new favourite milk substitute. Advice: Oat milk is really good with the tea and oatmeal/porridge; hazelnut milk is amazing on it’s own; cashew milk goes well with cereals.
Learn more about nutrition in general. It will help you to make better food choices and it will make eating healthy much easier in general, because once you understand all the chemistry behind the food and what it does to your body, you kinda don’t want to make yourself feel worse. GET PHYSICALLY FIT (2-6 months)
Define your goals. Do you want to lose weight, do you want to get stronger, gain weight, be able to climb the stairs without losing your breath, run 5k?
Remember - you’re half-way through. Being physically fit has a lot to do with what you put into your body. So, if you fulfilled the previous step of eating healthy - you are halfway through!
Make a plan. A Reasonable plan. Be honest with yourself. Alternatively, there are many already-made plans if you’re feeling lazy. Like, Couch to 5k for running,  Beginners 30-day exercise guide, 30 days of yoga, etc.
Start small. Like, 5 min exercise in the morning. Or doing 10 sit ups per day. Don’t do anything overwhelming, like running 5k everyday if you haven’t run for the past 5 years.
Make sure that you kinda like what you’re doing. If you absolutely hate running - don’t do it. Hate doing sit ups in the morning? Try some yoga instead.
Explore until you find what you like. You don’t have to go to gym to get fit, especially if you hate it. Find a type of exercise, which you actually like. Maybe it’s dancing or hiking, taking your dog for a walk. Sign up for several trial lessons of various sport clubs. Ditch ‘em if you have them until you find something that you love. Stick with that.
Do the small changes in your everyday life. Stairs>Escalator, Walk>Drive, Do some squats while brushing your teeth, switch from regular desk to standing desk, etc…  Find ways to incorporate being active into your everyday life
Track your effort instead of your progress. You cannot really control your progress that much (especially if your goal was to lose weight). However, you can always control your effort. So track it instead. This will leave you more motivated. As you will be able to see that you can do more and more everyday. Whereas, if you tracked your progress, you may not always get the result you hoped for, which might demotivate you and make you upset, wanting to quit.
BEAT DEPRESSION
Do the previous 3 steps and you’re halfway through as mental health depends a lot on the physical health.
See a therapist/doctor. Depression is an illness requiring medical treatment. So, get it. Remember:  there is absolutely no fucking shame in having a mental illness.
Get some extra support. Talk to your friends or family. Or maybe someone on the internet.
Write it out. If you don’t want to talk - write down your thoughts. It can be just as helpful. It’ll help you to understand yourself better, see problems in your thinking, etc. Buy a cheap notebook (or expensive one, up to you) and start a journal. Try being consistent by writing every morning or evening or both, but DO NOT BLAME YOURSELF if you miss some entries. Read through your past entries. Analyse them. Extract the lessons.
Distract yourself from yourself. Get someone/something to take care of, so that you can, for a moment, stop thinking about yourself. E.g, get a plant, or a dog, or a fish and focus on keeping them alive and well.
Self-care day. Dedicate at least one day per week for self-care. Take yourself out to a museum or some fancy cafe, do some stuff you like, whatever your hobbies are, do some physical self care: bath, face mask, manicure, etc., listen to some nice music, watch a film…..
STOP PROCRASTINATION
Celebrate your victories instead of mourning over your loses. So the only thing you’ve done today was write one sentence for your 20 page essay? Amazing! Buy yourself a candy for that!! I mean, you could’ve done nothing, but you didn’t - you wrote that one sentence and that’s worth celebrating.  Redefine the success - doing something is a hundred million times better than doing nothing.
Do it for only 2 minutes. If there’s an important thing you’ve been putting off for a while, tell yourself that you will only spend 2 minutes on doing it. If after 2 minutes you don’t want to do it anymore, great, stop it. However, after 2min. you actually might want to do more. No pressure either way.
Track your productivity. Track how much time you’ve been productive that day. Try to increase that time by a little bit every day.
Always forgive yourself. So, it’s been a week and you’ve done nothing? Don’t sweat it. Let it go. Blaming yourself will bring you absolutely nothing. Nothing good will come out of your negativity on yourself. So stop it. Forgive yourself and start again. And again, if you need to. Never stop trying. Always pick yourself after you fall. Beating procrastination and increasing your discipline is a skill. And all skills can be build on. There is nothing in you stopping you from changing. Remember that.
LEARN HOW TO DO TAXES (1h - 1 day)
Go to google.com.
Type in: “How to do taxes *the name of the country you’re living in*”
Read the results.
Alternatively, if you like socialising, ask some adults, whom you know, about it. Trust me, older people love teaching us youngsters. Learn all the lessons you can from them.
GET MENTALLY STRONG ENOUGH TO MAKE PHONE CALLS
Remember that just as with beating procrastination, making phone calls is a skill. And, again, skills can be learnt.
Get a new SIM card.
Top it up.
Dial some random numbers and pretend to be a salesman, selling whatever you like.. E.g., trying to sell broadband, cable tv, trying to get people to donate for some charity… Or whatever really… Me and some friends used to pretend we’re selling kittens or wood logs. Alternatively, you can pretend that you dialed a wrong person and talk about whatever, e.g. “Hey, Jess!! You wont believe what I saw today!! *start telling a made-up story*…”
If you get uncomfortable - just drop the call. No consequences whatsoever.
Repeat until you build up your game and your phone-call anxiety starts to diminish.
SLAY THOSE BITCHES Congratulations, now you’re ready to take over the world! Got get ‘em!!
