I love it when women hate men. I love it when women are allowed to vent to each other about how horrible and creepy men are. #hermitcraft recap #gemcyt #pixlriffs #sloyxp #zloyxp #lyarrah #whyy did i decide to make all three of them gems that didn't actually appear in the show lol #i just based their designs on vaguely similar ones #pix is heavily based on zircons and to an extent the rutile twins #sloy is based on a jade bc for the first few iterations i had him *as* a jade but unakite fit the color scheme better #as well as jasper #and the gem-being-the-top-of-the-tie thing comes from the zircons as well #and lyarrah was one of the more interesting ones in terms of inspo bc the thing is. #IRL anyolite is just a less-often used name for a mix of ruby and zoisite #so i couldn't decide whether or not anyolite could only be a fusion #but the fusion of ruby and zoisite would definitely be an anyolite #and we know from garnet and the homeworld garnets that fusions look similar to the standalone gems of the same type #SO ly's design is largely based on garnet and rhodonite #(both fusions involving a ruby and 1 other gem) #whether this particular anyolite is a fusion or not is kinda open to interpretation #if she is then the zoisite gem is on the back of her neck and it's covered by her hair #i have seen variations that pix (and presumably the rest of the recap team) would be humans studying the gems #and as much as i love that idea i also want a team recap fusion so #gem designs :)

It just occurred to me that they changed so much about Way's story. They gave us so much longing, so many lingering looks between him and Pete that didn't exist in the novel. So much backstory. So many extra scenes. They changed Pete from a barely-there plot device into Way and Kenta's beacon of hope. We had Pete and Kenta kissing and Pete and Way holding hands.

And then they took it all away by killing Way off and having Kenta vanish from his spot next to Tony's body in between camera takes.

Sure, Pete wanted them to choose and choose they did. But it's so cruel and... unfinished in a way.

And all we're left with is a sorrowful and silent close-up of Pete before he too leaves the story.

I'm sad you guys.

I think another aspect of conservative thought people need to understand is the idea that it's all about dominance.

The reason why sayings like "we don't want to trans your kids, we want trans kids to live" is because, in the conservative mind, you are replacing their dominance with your own. It can never be about what is best for others, it is always about expressing absolute power and control.

Natural selection, at its ideal, will weed out the people who "shouldn't live." If their existence is a threat to the already-established hierarchy, then it's obvious that they shouldn't exist in order to challenge hierarchy.

While this certainly isn't a "conservative-only" mindset, it's a trend I have noticed more in conservative spaces. This is why I don't always think it's helpful to go on about how, "Oh, we don't want to threaten your worldview. We just want people to live 😊". You will fundamentally be threatening their power in their minds. Therefore, nothing you say can truly take away from the anxiety, fear, and anger at losing control that may be instilled.
