these two are in an oc verse i have too much lore for so i could really go on all day abt the specifics but to be vague witches are a subrace of things called shadows. considered humans while humans are considered mortals. lifespans are expanded. harder to kill. witches even half witches typically have grey skin too but i needed morticia to be visibly herself. witches are the only shadows who can do magic from birth, while other shadows (its pretty much just witches, fae folk, and deathwalkers/normie supernaturals) have to learn it n usually HAVE to use channeling devices like wands while witches use their hands. magic users typically have an element they naturally are good at n can learn others - these other elements are usually what wands are for.

public displays of magical scars is considered like. uncouth. even the hand ones, thus gloves are a societal default and otherwise ur supposed to cover up or charm evidence away. rick obviously does not give a shit n it makes him stand out a LOT more than he should. bc of this, morticia is a lot more comfy around him n more confident as a result. ricks also the only person whos seen her hands ungloved bc of needing to patch her up after backfired adventures. highly personal thing in witch culture etc.

Finally beat Infinite Wealth, and BOY do I have some Plot Opinions under the cut

Jesus Fucking Christ that story completely shit itself. Just a full course meal of nothingburgers for a finale eh?

Palekana had a lot of wind up only to just be completely undone in 5 minutes. What was up with the straight up supernatural elements surrounding the cult like the Gun Miracle and Big Shark?? Tossed in the same "woo-woo" hole as Tachibana's blackout gesture from 0 I guess. Not a mention of how we're going to deprogram a literal island full of murder-cultists with Child Soldiers btw just "We put the little girl in charge and Everything Will Be Fine Now"

Ebina is just such a boring and pointless villain too, his entire character feels like SEGA/RGG studio *strongly regret* killing off Ryo Aoki/Masato Arakawa so they just drafted up a dollar store-ass replacement and BOY does it show. "Oh look! Another calculated and power-hungry asshole who hates his yakuza heritage and wants to cruelly dispose of all criminal elements! And he's also LITERALLY Ichiban's brother this time!" Even though this new plot wrinkle kinda makes Old Arakawa look like a complete asshole. and HE gets this big teary-eyed "Im sorry about the sins of my past" spiel from Kiryu??? This angsty-nihilist-fuckwit-nobody saddled with mommy issues who the plot itself seems bored with is really the final antagonist Kiryu faces off against?? This is the best they could come up with?? Come On. They even bring back the name Bleach Japan for the antagonist faction but just like every other plot point in this game that goes absolutely nowhere. Also why the hell was Sawashiro in this story...at all... other than some half-assed attempt at going "No No guys, Sawashiro was actually cool the whole time! He's just working with the villain now because....uh.... he's just that dedicated to Arakawas memory and the wellbeing of all Yakuza! Which is completely consistent with his character up to this point! We promise!"

Like sure I get that a big theme in the Like A Dragon series is "Anyone Can Be Redeemed" but the thing is that they also say there needs to be *work* put in to have that redemption. Sawashiro shows up, says "I'm a good guy now" works for a guy he *knows* is probably a villain, and then just spends the game being his bitch anyways. I knew that Like A Dragon's incredible story was going to be a tough act to follow, but it feels like RGG didnt even try to outdo it so much as they retreaded familiar ground without adding anything of substance. Part of this is Ichiban's Story being hijacked midway to get a similarly halfassed goodbye plot for Kiryu (which is ruined emotionally by a horrible Eng VA)

Fuck man I think I'm gonna tap out of the series for now, at least for any future installments. The plot was actually *that bad*. I know Yakuza isnt a series that is known for its amazing plotlines but It was *THAT BAD*

Yeah, I read webtoon/manhwa and manga a lot.

I am not really fan of manhua but there are exceptions for that one too, for example; 'Your Dream is Delicious' was one of my exceptions for me because i love characters. I love it.

I dont have specific genre to read one because you can never know which story has good characters and well written plotline but i generally prefer to read;

Yaoi- But i cant enjoy the story, if sex is only thing or main focus.

Romance- The reason i love romance because i love series that focus on relationships the most, though i hate when 'romance is the only focus' or when lovers act like they only care about each others but still, at least, story explores the interaction between characters.

Fantasy- I dont mind slice of life but sometimes its fun to explore supernatural or fantasy world.

Psychological- What can i say, psychology is my favorite thing because i dont enjoy shallow-typical characters, i want to know more about them, thats how i can get into story and enjoy from it. Though, its hard to find well written one.

Horror- i think every story needs a little/small horror element.

Shounen ai- Unlike yaoi, slowburn romance when characters get to know each others first works better because two strangers having sex and magiclaly falling in love is so unrealistic to me. Not to mention, most of them are romanticized toxic relationships without consent, i hate it.

Shoujo ai- I mean, there is no difference for me between shoujo ai and shounen ai, if its well written. Though, its hard to find good yuri too.

This doesnt mean i dont read other genres but i usually read those ones the most. I read reencarnation stories too but most of the mare cliche, its hard to find good one.

The thing is; Its been years since i start reading manhwa, I dont remember which ones i read because i read a lot and i still read.

But i have a few favorites, unfortunately i dont remember everything i read so just a few faves of mine.

Bastard;

Genre; Crime, mystery, psychological, horror.

I enjoy this story a lot.

A Joyful Life;

Genre; Slice of life, shoujo ai, romance, drama

I love main characters and the interaction between them.

Stagtown;

Genre; Horror, mystery, supernatural.

Recently, it has finished, i really enjoyed the horror elements of the story.

Pyramid Game;

Genre; Psychology

Both story and characters are good. Another 'win the game/war' type of story but its about more mental struggle than psychical one. If you love stories with tension, you might like this.

King's Maker;

Genre; Shounen ai, yaoi, history.

Main focus isnt romance. Its about changing the kingdom they live in.

The Best Smell;

Genre; Shounen ai.

Just adding here, cute shounen ai story, though art c/should've been better. Not necessarely my fave but i am just adding here because i dont remember other stories i read.

I keep rec.ing shoujo ai, even though i hardly read one, (i usually read yaoi/shounen ai). I often end up hating most the things i read so its rare to find a story i love from beginning to the ending and this one is one of them.

Hooky;

Genre; Fantasy, adventure.

It has very cute art, and storyline. I love when characters go to adventure, discover the world around them, interact with others. Though i didnt enjoy the second part os tory, still worh it though and i love the twins and their relationship the most.

I Love Amy;

This one isnt necessarely my fave because story is new to me but i find the story, characters and art interesting enough to mention it. Its about yandere girl who fall in love with the girl she considered love rival, lol. I love the fact that they actually give yandere girl a character and story and allow her to learn true love.

I read so many good stories, especially romance, yaoi but these ones are the ones i remember right now.

Bonus; I also read Dr Frost, The Guy Upstairs, Like You Maybe, Sugar & Spice, High Class Homos, Fictional Skin, Tower of God etc on webtoon app. Others i read on random websites, there are too many to write it here so for now, thats it.

hi, in mundane life i’m a history/humanities student! i study disability, fatness, queer life, magic, and all the intersections those entail; particularly (at the moment) when they intersect with fascist movements and ideology.

why am i telling you this? because we need to talk about nazis and fascism.

why? because unfortunately fascism has a long history of using occultism, pseudoscience, and pseudohistory to spread white supremacist ideas, racism, antisemitism, ableism, & antiziganism.

before i get started, i wanna make sure we’re on the same page about what these things are.

occultism - the study or practice of non-mainstream or novel belief systems, especially as they pertain to the supernatural, mystical, magical, and metaphysical.

pseudo- (prefix) - not based in any accepted fields or findings.

pseudoscience - ideology that has been “translated” to sound scientific. not based in real science.

pseudohistory - ideology that has been “translated” to sound historical or like historical fact, or uses historical motifs. not based in real history.

let’s break down what that looked like in the 1930s: (we’re going to be looking at untranslated documents from the NSDAP— if you don’t want to see that, i completely understand, feel free to scroll to the point where there’s red text like this.)

so here we have the two big, prominent, fonts used by the NSDAP; Futura and Fraktur.

futura was— and is— the font of choice for scientific [sic] writing, reports, and ‘good’ modern art.

fraktur was the font of choice for history [sic], ideology, ethics, morals, and emotional writing, and aimed to appeal to a sense of historical german glory. it’s also known across europe as the nazi font for this very reason.

these two documents are from the same year. which one feels older or more foundational? if its the antisemitic book set in fraktur, you’re like most people.

here is the line of red text for people avoiding triggering content.

fascism relies on calls to history, especially one where we [sic] were better off in the past than we are now. (see: Make America Great Again)

fascism also relies on looking toward a future where its scapegoat no longer exists. (see: drain the swamp)

one, the nazis straight up did not come up with nordicism, they took it to its extreme. nordicism has its origins in the us, as does eugenics as a whole.

two, look how innocuous all this bigotry is. you are not immune to propaganda isn’t just a meme! the point of propaganda is to blend in and to be subtle. it’s not going to stick in your head if you think it’s bullshit.

three, just like how nazis used american white supremacy, they co-opted a lot of ideologies from a lot of different cultures. some they took to use for hate and didnt change much, others they took something that wasn’t hateful (like an alphabet) because it just looked cool, and they made it hateful.

four, and really this is where i cut this post off to make a part 2 because #4 is so large, nazis justified co-opting symbols and ideologies with their belief that there were these vast, connecting elements and traditions and this former glory of “the aryan race” that were being covered up or polluted by whoever the marginalized group of the day was, usually jewish people. anything that even seems a little like that is probably fascist.

my goal here is to help you develop your nazi detector. america has been parroting fascism for a long time, and we’re in serious trouble. remember, if you’re not actively against them, you’re for them, or you might as well be.

with that being said, i just realized how odd it is that no one acknowledges the way that steve and robin were integral pieces of s4's final plot against vecna. they also dont get much recognition for their contributions in s3 (which. i dont agree with but i think its maybe easier to write them off as not as important to the grande scheme of things since they didnt directly fight a supernatural being) but in s4 they DID!! everyone talks about nancy shooting vecna and having these moments but steve and robinwere RIGHT there too and i never hear anyone talk about it. makes me really sad honestly!

(also dont even get me started on steve and no one really recognizing his worth in prior seasons. like s1 with attacking that demogorgon to save nancy and jonathan and in s2 as solidifying his role as the kids' mom babysitter and a huge part in that season finale working out too...)

Okay it really is weird how no one acknowledges that Robin and Steve were very very very important with taking down vecna. Yes yes yes!! Everyone talks about Nancy shooting vecna which canon played up way too much ngl - like they kept mentioning about the shot and how she shouldn’t miss. But Robin and Steve doing the mock tails and throwing the fire at him was the most important part considering that they all know that heart/fire is the thing that does weaken him. Literally if Robin and Steve didn’t throw the mock tails (or whatever they are I’m forgetting English words lol) there is no way that shoot would have actually done shit. I’m not trying to downplay Nancy’s shoot because it was important, however it doesn’t make sense that Robin and Steve aren’t praised for literally throwing the objects that are going to objectively do the most damage since they know that heat/fire actually does harm the hind-mive!! Steve and Robin did so much in season 4 like they (mainly Robin lol) literally were the ones to even figure out where Eddie was! He was literally the witness that they needed to put some of the puzzle pieces together - and figure out what was happening. Robin figured out the entire point of music being vecna’s victims’ saviors! Steve was literally questioning shit left and right which ended up saving a lot of their asses. Steve also was a big part in saving max at the cemetery in episode 4, because if he didn’t notice her acting a little bit stiff and etc and saying that she’s had enough time: they would have gotten to max way too late.

Ngl I’m also confused how people don’t praise Steve and Robin for what they did in season 3 - like they’re sooo important in the battle and way before then. They both figure out the Russian code that lets them know that the russians are involved with the ud shit (yes hopper,Joyce,and Murray were also investigating the russians but also Robin and Steve didn’t know that at all). And also they literally figured out the Russian code on like a damn day - one fucking day. And Robin even says that because they did some amazing shit with that (while yea we joke that Robin and Steve have one brain cell between them - I would also say that they’re actually very competent when they’re with one another and they both have the brain cell when they’re together - they just selectively have moments where they both have the brain cells when together).

It’s either people just see Steve as a comedic element (which is funny considering that he doesn’t mainly become the comedic character until like season 3-4) or people just don’t like Steve so they immediately knock off all importance that Steve has with the narrative. It’s just some people are willing to hate him and have a grudge against him (idk why though honestly) that they’re not willing to see past their own agendas of what Steve is and what he means to the narrative. Because he does mean a lot to the narrative and maybe it’s also because: people cannot see past his season 1 status. And I think it goes beyond seeing him as a douche - it’s more because in season 1 he was more of a secondary character. Which honestly could be why they just write him off considering as this fandom has two immediate modes when seeing a secondary character: they either get completely obsessed with them or they hate them for no reason at all. Sooo honestly my thinking could be it atp but also idk honestly. But yeahhh I find it odd how people write off Steve as someone who has been important and helpful in the show considering that he’s saved all of the mains and is literally the one asking questions. He’s the one who asks questions as the others kind of just go with everything especially in season 1 and 2 but Steve asks questions!!! So I started watching Yellowjackets, so to collect some of my thoughts here is a very unorganized dump of stuff that's gone through my brain for the first couple episodes.

A) I DidNot know there was a supernatural element to this show at all?? Idk. I guess I didnt really know what I was going into at all, but I thought it was just gonna be some casual survival cannibalism with some "yeah they're going crazy from being out here so long" culty stuff thrown in for fun. Not... this..

(Its not bad, just not what i was expecting, Im just holding out hope they leave room for a non supernatural interpretation)

B) Jesus crist Misty is crazy. Just, like, fist the amputation, then she tries to grab the dudes morning wood, then she tries to kill him. Like girl Chill Out Jesus. Not to mention her immediately smashing the radio box bc she felt needed by the group for one. She's crazy, I love her.

C) Shauna... what the fuck are you thinking. But also when she talks Jeff to say that he loves her, that she won't hold him to it... Jesus, god damn.

So what we learn in the Save Me Webtoon, as well as the Notes novellas (which I own lol) is that there is a falling out within the friend group and, after he graduated high school, Seokjin goes to America for 2 years. When he comes back on April 11, a month after he comes back, Yoongi dies by suicide in a fire, Jungkook jumps off a roof, Jimin is wasting away in the mental hospital his mother stuck him in, Hoseok has fallen down a flight of stairs and is severely injured, Namjoon is in prison for assaulting a rude customer at the gas station, and Taehyung is being arrested for the murder of his father

Seokjin is understandably devastated. He ends up going to the beach/pier we see in I Need U, where he has memories with the others, and wonders how things turned out this way. Then, a white cat brushes up against his legs and a mysterious voice asks him, in the webtoon, “If you could turn back time, so you believe you can straighten out the errors and mistakes, and save everyone?”

And Seokjin says he would do anything to do that.

Guess what?

It’s the same green & blue eyed cat from TXT’s universe.

Time flashes back to April 11, and he begins reliving that month leading up to everyone’s tragedies. Every time he messes up and one of the dies or is severely harmed, there’s the sound of glass shattering and he wakes up on April 11 again. Sometimes he makes it months before tragedy strikes and everything restarts. In one loop, he’s so desperate to try to get somewhere to save someone that he gets into a fatal car crash with Namjoon and two others in the car, and he wakes up on April 11 again. We still…..haven’t gotten closure for this story yet, but the Notes novellas have the most in-depth information and also confirm, along with the trailer for the mobile game (yes there’s a mobile game lol), that the cat in the TXT universe is the same one in the BTS one by virtue of its deal-making nature and it’s odd eyes. There’s even this really interesting scene in the novellas where Jungkook has a dream about when he got hit by a truck, and in the dream the headlights and blue & green, just like the headlights of the train in Magic Island

This is sooo interesting i am at the edge of my seat. and the open ended nature of the narrative makes perfect sense for the storyline for a K-pop group bc. This will generate endless discourse till the end of time. And all the elements that the story does give us is something we can all somehow relate to, we can invest in. BigHit really really knows how its done…

My favorite part of this time loop concept being used here is Seokjin has basically trapped himself in endless torment where he has to witness his friends meet their ends over and over and there is nothing he can do differently that can save them, the argument that even if we could go back in time life always ends up the way it is supposed to. But Seokjin walks into this deal anyway and tries his hardest every time bc he loves them. Just like the song Run is talking about him running towards a love he wont get im connecting the dots!!!

(Oh wow this feeds into what we said about him suffering the others’ pain in I NEED U. I didnt write this but i was thinking Seokjin must be the connection to the supernatural.)

thinking about how it connects to txt’s lore… (bc everything in my life has to be about txt some way) im woefully lost at txt lore as well but from the get go im noticing parallels. If i start the story from 0x1 we have the toxic families (YJ’s parents fighting in 0x1, BG’s dad obviously) there is committing crimes, in GBGB JPN MV we saw a fallout in the friend group. What if these are two alternate universes or two unrelated groups connected by their youth (?? idk it makes sense to me) I wouldnt be too surprised if Soobin starts a time loop one of these days.

You know after reading and reading and reading peoples theories and the meta from before the spn finale aired and the meta writers reactions to the finale I think I have a theory of my own. We don't have any answers tho, so this is pure speculation. If you wanna add something to support or discredit any of this that's cool but there's too many things floating around. Know I dont have proof for this conclusion at all. A lot of what I say is just guesses based on previous facts.

This all came together in my head when I realized how much this finale REEKS of the original producers and who the show was originally for. It REEKS of Robert Singer. Like if the execs started saying they didn't want it, Robert Singer was the one pushing that the story was about the brothers. That kinda thing.

Then, I was thinking of the problems in this episode and it struck me these are all of Supernatural biggest issues and to be honest all of it feels completely deliberate.

Take the sexism for example, Supernatural in it's later seasons largely out grew this, we have Jody, Rowena, Donna, Charlie, Mary, Claire (and even a wayward sisters pilot with MORE women/girls) all making regular appearances. They're mainly good characters and mostly aren't there to hurt our boys. Rowena, of course, is the one outlier being very about herself but it's clear she still cares for them, I mean its part of her development. But they're all real, with character flaws just like everyone else. (And we have Death too and she was POC 😭 THANK GOD)

Now look at the earlier half of Spn, we have Ellen and Jo, who's appearances were far in between. There's Bela in season 3, recurring for quite a bit (5 eps), but she is a character that is only there for herself, definitely not found family (unlike Ellen & Jo), and she's got more episodes in season 3 than Ellen and Jo in season 2 who aren't seen again til season 5. The "fans" send in hate mail after hate mail to try to get these characters off, and eventually they are. Then there's Ruby who's character stayed for a whole two seasons and was a largely recurring character. Why does she get to say so long? She's a plot device. She's supposed to be there to betray Sam. She has to stay (plus Jared obviously likes her). But she's not just a character the writers like writing about. Same with Lilith. Obviously not as recurring but still a plot device. Did they get hate mail tho? You can bet on it. Why? because tHeY'rE gOnNa PuSh ThE bOyS (Dean and Sam) aPaRt ThE sHoW iS aBoUt ThE bOyS oNlY. Without even thinking about the hate mail, just notice how large the difference is from how women are seen in the earlier seasons to the later seasons. Misha got tons of hate mail too for being a character that could split up the boys (probably only being allowed to say because he a man, thanks sexist producers and execs).

Only after Castiel was killed off and then Castiel fans successfully (thank you guys) got him back on the show did the hate mail largely simmer, which means female character's were allowed to stay! Which has lead us to a show with a good amount of female characters. But can you imagine having to kill characters off time and time again because people keep complaining that the show is "only about the boys." Fun times really.

So now we get to this final and we see sexism. But it wasn't just the plain old regular sexism you find in the earlier days of spn. Because now, there ARE women to talk about, talk to. But this episode was DESOLATE women wise, unless they were used for plot (which is also sexist!). Small scenes, they're barely there. Women gets her tongue cut out. Random women from s1 gets killed. Sam doesn't SPEAK of Eileen. Nothing. No mention of any female characters from the boys mouths unless they were from/in this episode itself. That's WIERD. I know we've all said it. But that goes beyond forgetting about characters. I mean its SAM'S GIRLFRIEND for Christ's sake. There is NO REASON they couldn't have said Eileen's name. Notice how Sam's wife is just... faceless. This is literally an age old sexist trope. Like... one of the things about bringing Mary back to life for s12+ is that it takes this trope... of basically a generic mother, and gives her life and feelings, whether you like them or not, they're real feelings. They said Mary isn't just a mom she's a person. Mary's existence in the later half of spn is to fix this kind of female tropes that fall upon her character, to not let these her stay a 2 dimensional character. They said we should know she's more than just the mom who tried to save her kid. Do that is the exact opposite of Sam getting a nameless, faceless wife. The sexism of the old spn wasn't just brought back, it was completely amplified. It wasn't just accidental or some exec "fixing" the story it was DELIBRATE. Whoever wrote that, didn't do ALL OF THAT by accident. Because an exec or a producer who doesn't see the flaws in old supernatural isn't going to write it that deliberately.

Let's bring it back to s10 when Charlie was killed (singer was mainly to blame). Dead in the bathtub, age old classic of burying ur gays. If you were here you know people never let Supernatural live that down. THEY KNOW what bury ur gays means. Hell, Robbie Thompson left because of Charlie's death and you think the writers don't know what it means? I mean both Bobo Berens (especially) and Steve Yockey's careers are centered around LGBT+ storytelling and you think they don't know? They know. They know.

And Dean wasn't just apart of the bury your gays trope, it is so far BEYOND that. Dean being killed on a rusty nail/screw, the tongues ripped out, things that seemed to be meant for other people. Jensen's acting in the last two episodes was giving us "DEAN RECIPROCATES" but no one ever actually saying it. I think it's clear that Dean was killed for being Bi. They didn't address it for a reason, they just silenced him. His narrative was supposed to be about letting him be HIM for the first time, to say what his feelings are instead of having them miscommunicated, and instead of doing that, they just silenced him. And the more we look at this scene the more horrific it gets. The more it's a complete slap in the face and it's supposed to be. Some guy who knows nothing about the LGBT can't write a scene this horrific.

Some guy who knows nothing about Dean couldn't write a scene that deconstructs all of Dean's character development and gives Dean his worst nightmare. I MEAN DEAN WANTED TO LIVE HIS LIFE! THEY DIDNT HIDE THAT JOB APPLICATION (or whatever job related thing that was) IN THERE FOR SHITS AND GIGGLES THEY WANT YOU TO KNOW THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST SITUATION. Dean isn't Barney from HIMYM. If you watched HIMYM then you'll know Barney went from being a stereotypical ladies man and treating women terribly to being in love with a women and treating her right and working hard for it. The last episode of HIMYM (why its so bad) Barney's character development is thrown out and he's back to being a stereotypical ladies man. You don't need to know Barney's character very much to do that.

To kill Dean during a hunt his father never finished, to not have anyone at his funeral, to have Dean die young like his life didn't matter. Those are Dean's worst fears and you'd only truly know that if you watched the gin episode in s3, where they are basically laid out for you. You HAVE to know Dean's character to tear him apart like this.

This episode took all the core elements of the show and did a complete 180° the name of the episode itself is "Carry on" and Dean and Sam very much did not carry on. Sam grieving his entire life so that he good get to heaven and see Dean again. Dean being ready to live his life, despite the enormous pitfalls and learning to love himself only to be killed. "Family don't end with blood." Um.... it did in that episode either literally with Dean's death or you know BECAUSE NONE OF THEIR FOUND FAMILY WAS THERE. Not Jack, Not Cas, Not Eileen, Not Donna, Not Charlie, Not Jody, Not Claire... on and on we go. No one was there, nobody was even mentioned. Dean's funeral, no one even called that we know of. It was just Sam and Dean. Sam and Dean. And Bobby. Don't forget Bobby. But yeah Sam and Dean.

That's what the show is about right, the brothers.

Except it's not anymore. It hasn't been for years.

Cas not being there was deafening but it brought us to a major point. Becky. Becky's telling us about the terrible ending.

And many of us are wondering why would they literally tell us this is the worst ending and then... make it the ending.

Now before we move on, it very apparent many of you think Dabb doesn't ship Deancas. And Dabb doesn't care about the characters.

Say what you will about any plot holes in his writing, the point he is VERY GOOD at writing the characters, and giving us good ones.

Why do we know Dabb ships Deancas? (ill say when its cowrote, other wise its not) cowrote ep 8.02 - purgatory "I prayed to you, Cas, every night" "Cas, Buddy, I need you." "I have a price on my head, and I've been trying to stay one step ahead of them, to – to keep them away from you." 8.08 Hunteri Heroici - Cas helps them hunt! 😊❤ Dean & Cas have a serious convo about why Cas doesn't want to see/go to heaven. 8.22 Dean's mad at Cas. Sam's explanation of why Dean should be easy on Cas: "It's Cas." Dean then points out how he'd knife anybody else if they did what Cas did. 9.10 - Cas comforts Dean when Dean can't take seeing Sam (Gadreel) being tortured anymore. Also tons of Cas. 9.20 (bloodlines) - Canonical couple parallel "I was there, where were you" 9.22 The angels make Cas choose between them and killing Dean and he "gave up an entire army for one guy" 10.09 Claire's reintroduction. Cas heavy ep. DeanCas date. 10.22 THE PRISONER - u know the ep where Dean beats the shit out of Cas but loves him enough to not kill him.

We COULD keep going but I think I've made my point. If Robert Singer is the guy that is like "the show is about Sam and Dean only" Andrew Dabb is the DeanCas shipper. And you could even say a Cas stan.

Notice! How in s13 for SEVEN episodes we have a story that revolves around Dean's grief about losing Cas. Notice! How often the stories in all these seasons have a focus on their relationship. THAT is Andrew Dabb. If it weren't for him doing that, we wouldn't be able to easily say after Dean's lack of a response to Cas' confession, that Dean reciprocates.

To me, when I was (binge) watching s12 for the first time, I thought damn this is really got a lot of DeanCas. So I went to look at who was in charge, who was writing. I saw Andrew Dabb, associated him with Deancas episodes, saw all the new writers, Bobo, and then I saw that Yockey is known for same sex stories and it clicked. Dabb assembled a team to give us Destiel. THAT WAS IN SEASON 12!!!!!!!!

The amount of people saying he's homophobic flabbergast me. Open your eyes! That isn't what's going on.

Imagine making a show and trying to right all the wrongs of Supernatural. Imagine trying to write the greatest love story ever told and you have the entire season planned out for it to end off beautifully, it may possibly be your greatest achievement when it's done and then boom. someone comes in and tells you you aren't allowed to make Dean bi or make destiel endgame, after he was most probably already given the go ahead.

Sure. You could imply he's bi or into cas still in a way. Still make nice-ish ending. just give everyone what the kinda want.

Or you could scrap the last season, nothing close to a canonical bisexual Dean Winchester or Deancas endgame in site. People can be done with it be happy with the show, continue to live their lives in ignorance as to how close they were to Canon destiel.

OR you can lead everyone to the very closest you can get them to what you were aiming for and then show everyone the ugly truth and reality. Light it all on fire. Burn the show to the ground in your wake. Try your darnedest to making these people's (the people saying no) pockets suffer. Show us, the audience, what happened. Show us what this show really is.

I've seen people talk about the ending being changed during covid but I dont think that happened. I think what happened was Dabb already had this season planned out before it even started. Obviously the details were wobbly but it was all lead up to this ending. Destiel endgame, Canon Bisexual Dean, whatever it was. They were ready to write the greatest love story ever told and then someone shut it down.

Imagine the pain that must have caused them to be told no when they already said yes. They must have been so excited to give this to us.

I think someone (some producers) told him what this show is "really" about. The brothers. Can you imagine, after being told no, some kinda bullshit like this is said to you: "Why aren't you bringing it back to the brothers, Andrew? that's what the shows about. What with all this homosexual stuff, you know the audience won't like that. Not really." Imagine the original producers pushing this kind of view on you. "You know when we started it was Sam and Dean. It should end with Sam and Dean." That kinda sounds like someone huh? huh.

So why give us a nice acceptable finale, when you can take every problem Supernatural's had either up front or behind the scenes and create a finale so incredibly bad that people don't want to watch it anymore.

Someone made a good point about how Sam was originally supposed to be the main focus (this isn't to put any hate on Sam or Jared). Dean and Sam are the main characters but Sam was supposed to be the focus and for Dean to have become the focus, must have annoyed the producers because... well here we are. They wouldn't listen to Jensen. The producers liked this ending. Jensen's opinion didn't matter to them.

In some ways, if this is really what happened, it can be seen as childish from Dabb. To hurt all of us like that. Yes, he's hurting the producers, the execs, the cw. But to hurt us? Yeah it stings.

But in other ways, if this is really what happened, this is Dabb showing us the muck and gunk under the shiny surface. The hate for Misha. The hidden hate for Jensen. The underlying sexism. The underlying homophobia. The people REALLY in charge don't care about us, they just want our money. He needed to open our eyes and free us, at least free the people that he was writing for. The people he sees that care about this show.

This is the ending the powers that be wanted and its a big fuck you for a reason. I dont think this is Dabb spitting in our faces for loving this show, I think this is him trying to get revenge for us.

But from here, you can see it how u want it. If this is really what happened, I'm not in charge of your emotions, if you wanna be mad be mad if you wanna be grateful be grateful. And you don't have to believe me either I said this is speculation.

Also, as for all of the rumors like there being shots to the confession scene that we didn't see, which Jensen himself implied, I think that might have been a last ditch effort to canonized DeanCas but obviously it was cut. Like the name change was pretty clear. As for Misha possibly having shot some stuff for 20 I dont know what to tell you. If it's true I dont know where the blame would lie.

I do think however, that if all this was the case, the writers were prepared to become villians here. I mean they told us the writers were villians with Chuck right? So. Who knows what went down so they could give us such a vile ending. It could've been the producers or the writers, who truly knows. I do think tho that people we "trust" did some pretty shitty things to push the narrative in certain directions so now one would see this as the actual ending that was coming.

So again do with my SPECULATION what you will. This was in no way meant to put Dabb on a pedestal or anything. Just meant to give a bit of perspective.

(Also Jensen didn't unfollow Dabb recently he was already unfollowed for years)

1/2 i think the thing that makes it harder to engage with race in supernatural (at least for me, idk abt white fans) is that at the end of the day, the actors are white. the characters are white. the writers are white. there's no such thing as race-coding the way there is with gender or queerness. like, we talk about how supernatural accidentally gave us some (poor, but doesn't-matter-bc-it's-still-fun) queer rep and we can take that and deconstruct it and project/investigate the inherent

2/2 queerness that main(!) characters have and we can even speculate about [GUNSHOT] and we get something out of it! something good and fun! but engaging with race on supernatural.. like, what is there to get? examining the way poc are treated is just traumatic (again, at least for me), and thinking about people using it as tumblr brain food when it's actually emblematic of white supremacy narratives being upheld and /real/ actors of color constantly being sidelined just. does not sit right with me

i understand what ur coming from and i absolutely didnt mean to say that anybody especially not white fans should take the racism in supernatural lightly or use it as “brain food.” its absolutely a serious matter! but race is present in the text from premise to execution to audience and the fact is that valid readings of the text MUST include a reading of race, white supremacy, and eugenics. no, its not a fun topic to think about, and it’s one that maybe people are scared to address bc they’re worried abt being canceled or whatever, but the fact is that when you engage w deeply racist media such as supernatural you cant in good conscience say Well it bothers me to examine the presence of race in this story so i’m going to focus on analyzing aspects of the text that are more fun for me.

this DOES NOT MEAN that anybody (ESPECIALLY not white people) should take racism lightly. it doesn’t mean they should turn it into an abstract intellectual exercise. it definitely doesn’t mean that white people should feel that they have the same expertise in deconstructing characters and narratives of color as they do in deconstructing female or lgbt characters and narratives. what it DOES mean is that race MUST play a part in how you read the text. people who claim to engage with supernatural on a deeper level (and by that i mean people who regularly read/post meta or talk about “the secret good supernatural in our heads”) MUST ALSO engage with racism. it isn’t enough to say Yeah supernatural is racist but i’m still going to enjoy and consume and create transformative fan content that replicates the racism embedded in supernatural. christianity as the underpinning law of the supernatural universe, monsters as inherently Other and in need of extermination, the consistent sidelining and villainizing of characters of color, these are all things that people need to start interrogating, and interrogation of these things HAS to become a part of mainstream fan culture in the same way interrogation of, for example, dean’s relationship to masculinity and femininity/castiel’s relationship with gayness and authority and free will/sam’s relationship with monstrosity as a function of lgbt coding has become a part of mainstream fan culture.

because the fact is that That is what engaging critically with a racist text MEANS. it doesn’t mean acknowledging that it’s racist as lip service and then moving on. if race is not an active and ongoing part in fan discussion and analysis of the show, then fans are not engaging critically, they are just consuming and excusing a racist text. either you’re actively discussing and pushing against racism in supernatural, or you’re accepting it. and honestly if, for whatever reason, you aren’t comfortable with interrogating the element of race in supernatural and integrating it into your analysis of the show, you really should just not engage with supernatural.

All I wanted was a plot that doesnt involve Tommy. Now that egg and dreamon plot starts to be the main thing, I was happy. Then Tommy gets involved. Now his wievers are like "oh, now its getting relevant now that his joining". Stfu please. But now its getting more attention now that he is there. No, he will steal the spotlight no matter what and be his stupid charector. He is bad at taking other people in consideration, like he just ruins the other peoples serious moments with his bitch that attitude. Maybe they would consider that if he didnt stream, the otherd would grow with the dream smp, like Tommy did. He doesnt need to be the spotlight. Hopefully he is just a non important side charector.

People didn’t take the Bloodvines stuff seriously before because we were told that it wasn’t a “main plot” but a side story where none of the lives taken would be canon and that it was a fun supernatural story some of the others had wanted to do.

However now that it’s starting to spread, it is becoming more apparent that for this season it is going to be a part of every other storyline that was set up at the end of season two. People, like me, are freaking out because we had been told not to worry about the egg and now it’s very clear we should have all been worrying about it. Which adds to the story and adds to the panic. Like the actual characters, we dismissed it and pushed it aside allowing it to grow, fester and overwhelm.

In regards to Tommy. Tommy being a part of the story does not give it sudden significance. But shows how intrusive the egg has become. It would be ridiculous if it did not have an effect on Tommy’s character. It wouldn’t make sense. Tommy isn’t interested in the egg and does not care about it and that’s probably why it has little to no effect on him. Much like how everyone ends up involved in Tommy’s plots, he will inevitably become a part of this. It doesn’t seem to be setting him up to be a main character.

There is also an element that the viewers who aren’t awake for BBHs streams are now suddenly seeing the egg. I never see BBHs streams live due to time differences. So perhaps the sudden flux of interest coming from Tommy’s stream is due to the amount of European viewers suddenly aware of how far the that apparent side plot has progressed. Tommy didn’t give it significance, he just allowed viewers who do not normally get to watch it, see it all live and see actually the dangerous plot forming around everyone.

The point of the egg plot is to over take everything so it was always going to come to Tommy and whilst his character can be inherently vain and egotistic, he does always try to do what’s best for everyone. Right now he wants to stay neutral. Another reason why the egg probably has no effect on him. This means he might stay out of the egg plot but he will eventually join a side and I imagine it will be the “destroy the egg” side. He will be involved. Like how everyone else will most likely be involved. Because this plot effects everyone.

One more thing, the creators will be speaking behind the scenes and so probably planned Tommy becoming involved. They like to plan plots and events around one month ahead. Whilst dialogue and scenes are mainly improvised the plot points are preplanned. Tommy will have either asked or have been asked to do an egg stream. If they didn’t want him to join in on the plot, BBH and others would have said so and Tommy would have respected that.

Overall, I can understand the frustrations that fans only think somethings valid when Tommy says it is. But a lot of the time this is due to other factors such as, time zones and how other creators say it’s a side plot etc but I think we can all agree until the Egg has been nuked, we are all doomed.

-"the only one who has the key is you" in the Good Place nancy has the key (smaller picture, to finding out what happened to lucy but bigger picture, post-reveal) but ryan has the clues nancy needs- following the Good Place's mirroring, this just means that in reality ryan will either be completely useless or an active hindrance (but you KNOW this is a dream bc in what universe would ryan remember clues like that 😂)

-so in a perfect universe ryan acknowledges his family's "criminal empire" as opposed to reality where he only makes under cover jabs about disengaging with being an "entitled corrupt legacy criminal" ie finding the bonny scot relics but does nothing about them, etc

-making the call: nancy -unable to make up for lost time/both her mothers had to find out/suffer alone / in the Good Place nancy was able to be with kate while she called, and in reality she had carson; somethig about seeing the mother looking to the daughter for strength in the Good Place instead of the reverse (which is what reality sounded like, kate being strong for nancy through the illness despite the struggle)

-concept: nancy & nick "let's wait out the storm"

-"i believe that you believe it" nick in the Good Place + owen in reality both trust nancy when she says she's seen things (owen's is the teeth) but nick in reality (and not really knowing details) doesnt think much of their "moment" bc it wasnt real (so she had to leave the Good Place to save carson- but if she had known then he wasnt her real dad, would she have stayed to be w nick?)

-soooooo in the first ep nancy breaks into the hudsons house and finds tiffanys secret drawer w the nail polish and finds the amulet with a note that says "for your protection HG" yet on this video tiffany says she talked to a medium who gave her the amulet sooooo am i just confused? HG is hannah gruen obvi so is the address for the medium what hannah gave her? or was the address on the amulet which nancy dissolved in salt water to see? so how would tiffany know where to go? its chicken and the egg which came first hannah or the medium?

and lastly:

i close these two eps with a thought that everything in this show is sealed in death. all the lies, the imagery, the fake constructs people put up to get by all crumple the second someone dies- all the secrets come clean just like these doors have been unsealed.

JUST finished watching Superman vs the Elite for the first time (& a little surprised that I hadn’t seen it before since it apparently came out a good 8 yrs ago???)

Anyways Head Full, Many Thoughts, all hopefully under this cut if tunglr decides to act right (otherwise will throw a “long post” tag for those of yall who dont want to scroll for miles)

So the FIRST thing that struck me was the animation style ofc!!! Because this pre-dated B*urassa and his awful style hadnt yet permeated to the dc movies, it was very fresh to watch!!! Bouncy and lively and flowy and above all so EXPRESSIVE!!! The dogfight scene especially had me absolutely THRILLED, but every big combat in this movie had such Energy that I havent seen from a DCAO movie in far too long!!

Normally especially when Talking Head scenes happen I have a very bad tendency to check my phone, but even lower energy scenes had interesting Movement to them, not a single frame was I tempted to avert my eyes for even a fraction of a second.

Again, that might just be because when we’ve gone so long without something to break the monotony of animation style, anything new feels Fresh and Interesting... But I dont think that was entirely the case here.

I dont know how else to explain it, other than that it feels like a lot of love went into the animation for this movie, and I think that partly, its because this felt like such an important Superman story. Which leads me to...

The fact that this story felt so wonderfully, quintessentially Superman.

There is a time and a place to enjoy stories of rogue agents with a Might Makes Right policy, or hell, even to enjoy a tale of small forces overthrowing oppressive regimes. But the reverse of this idea, of that small force taking things a step too far with little to no oversight-

That’s exactly the kind of thing for Superman.

Because Superman still considers himself an American above all else, behold to our ideals and the idea that Good will prevail. That the greater part of humanity will choose to be better. And that though he holds a lot of power, he is still beholden to the people and to protect them, to stand up to injustice and maintain peace.

Now I haven’t read the issue that this movie adapted itself from (will remedy that tonight since its apparently a single-issue), but given the context of when it was published, and when this movie was released (in 2001 and 2012, respectively), I feel like its just as, if not more, relevant now as it was then.

Because with a Global pandemic looming, the 2020 presidential election only a month away, and our country in such a horrible state of disarray, this is exactly the kind of story I needed to see.

That there will be people to take a stand against injustice, and against those who stand against the very foundations of Truth and Justice. That we can come out of this, no matter how bleak things feel. That we should be hopeful, and believe that there’s a fundamental goodness that will outshine all of the worst that humanity may offer.

I tend to stray from Superman stories because typically, I prefer ones on a smaller scale, that deal moreso with interpersonal dramas or have elements of true crime/smaller crimes or otherwise would have some inherently supernatural element to pique my interest. But that doesnt make these grandiose ideals and larger scale conflicts all the less important.

Because stories about larger acts of terror have their place in comics as well, and a character as big as Superman is sometimes one of the only ones to handle them. A character who at his core, is meant to stand for that hope that we damn well need from time to time. An idea that I didnt realize I needed in my life, even for just a nice little hopeful moment.

(And god i really wish i could end it on that note, but I want to also squeeze in the fact that Lois & Clarks interactions in this movie were really cute and just. Overall i really liked it. I’ll probably look more into Manchester Black & the Elite later because I found them compelling and remember seeing them briefly in my Damian reading and obvsly a little in Supergirl before I think I dropped off paying attention to the show BUT. they’re a topic for another time)

ANYWAYS. I Enjoyed it. Gonna read the issue its inspired from now real quick. Plz give it a watch from something really nice, uplifting and just plain FUN to watch.
