Encanto Headcannons because this movie has a chokehold on me

- Antonio has one-sided beef with Isabella. Since her flowers attract annoying bugs, she would grow Venus fly traps, pitcher plants, sundew, etc. I don’t think I need to explain why Antonio doesn’t like this. He uproots any that he finds

- Isabella is aroace imo, in the movie we see her grow hydrangeas before Markiplier Mariano comes for dinner. Columbia has a superstition that if you have hydrangeas in a house with single women, they will never marry. 👀 (of course this is just me projecting a bit, I’m aware that it was actually just cuz she didn’t want to marry Mariano, pls don’t take this too seriously)

- Dolores’s room is not sound proof like other people say. Since her superhuman hearing ability is used to protect the Encanto, I wouldn’t be surprised if she was the only one without a soundproof room. Poor girl 😔.

- Antonio, Dolores, and Bruno gossip with each other, they have so much dirt on EVERYONE

- If you shake Bruno’s head, his eyes respond like a magic 8-ball /hj

- Dolores is normally fine with all the noises she hears all day, but the second dinner time is over, she’s done, straight to her room, don’t talk to her.

- Abuela is NOT-I repeat-NOT homophobic, IDC if it doesn’t make sense for their time period, I will forever stand by my opinion that she truly couldn’t care less if anyone in the family was lgbt+

- Bruno tugs on his rauna when stressed and that’s part of the reason why it has some rips in the fabric

- Bruno is the flavor of autism where he doesn’t know when his eye contact is too much “❇️_❇️”

- Luisa, Dolores, and Pepa love romance novels, they have a book club together

- Mirabel and Alma like to paint with each other, I’d also like to think that Alma made the family tree in the kitchen

- Alma taught Mirabel how to sew when she was younger, so she had something to do when everyone else is busy

- Camilo mimicks people’s mannerisms without realizing, but it’s often mistaken for mocking

Encanto Headcanons!!

So I saw Encanto a few days ago and I literally have not stopped thinking about it so... HEADCANONS!

Some of these are specific to post-canon, some aren't.

One of the things being done to lighten Luisa's workload is Antonio just telling the donkeys to go back in the barn

Dolores didn't high-key snitch on Bruno living in the walls because she relates to knowing things other people don't want to know/don't want you to know

Camilo has a stash of tea somewhere for when Pepa gets stressed

Dolores' room has a bunch of things in it that muffle sound, but also a bunch of things that make interesting sounds

Pepa and Julieta's rooms have aspects of them which also cater to their respective husbands because of how important they are to them

Bruno's favorite game is chess, but he never follows the rules, he just starts making up ridiculous plotlines and derails everything like four moves in. Everyone learns to just go along with it.

Mirabel's glasses are magically reinforced (how else do you explain them not getting disastrously scratched up when she falls face first into a ton of sand?)

Isabela gets commissioned to dye clothing after she realizes she can

A good half of the village just calls Alma "abuela"

Luisa likes to do things like woodworking. The more delicate things don't always turn out the best, but she enjoys it anyway.

Not enough people talk about this unit of a woman, so here are my

~Dolores Headcannons~

(Honestly, these are more like things I noticed about her in the movie. Though I did try to add my headcanons too)

I mentioned it in my WFRR Monster AU post, but I'm gonna mention it again. As the picture shows, Dolores seemed to be a part of Valient and Valient. Why her name isn't mentioned, I'm not entirely sure. My guess as to why she's not in the office with Eddie, is that after Teddy's death, it was hard for him to find work for various reasons. So she branched off to work at the bar in an attempt to keep the business afloat. But she's still more than ready to jump in and help with any case Eddie has. After all, stuffing olives for a living ain't for her anyway.

Dolores was more of an informant for the Valients. In the film, Eddie asks her specifically to check the probate instead of checking himself. It could have easily been just to save time or something, but I think it's the former.

She has a temper, as we see in the film. Though unlike Eddie, who can carry anger with him the whole conversation, Dolores seems to just need to vent in a small outburst, before she's able to forgive and/or think rationally. Like when she caught Jessica and Eddie; she snapped at Eddie once, a bit of sarcasm, but she didn't leave him and seemed to realize right away that Eddie wouldn't do that to her. And when Roger was causing a ruckus in the rotgut room, she snapped a little "What'd you have!? A change of heart?" Before she started to ask questions and offered help.

Since she was an informant, she didn't have as much on-hand experience with toons as Eddie does. Of course, she knew that their antics can be dangerous, especially after Teddy's death. Though, unlike Eddie, she doesn't entirely know what they're capable of. It's part of the reason she stayed standing and watching after Eddie ducked when he gave Roger the drink in the bar.

She has at least two outfits that have flowers incorporated in them in some way. I think she likes flowers, even if it's just a little ^^ (and yes, Eddie gets her flowers whenever he can)

Part of the reason the trip to Catalina was so special to them was that it was the first vacation they all were able to take after their toon investigation business opened; the first big reward they paid for with their new business.

Dolores and Eddie first met while he and Teddy were in the police academy. I'm not entirely sure how exactly they met, but I like to think that once Eddie saw her wit and strength, he knew right then and there he wanted to ask her out.

That was also how she got to be a part of the business. It wasn't just because she was his gal, Eddie could tell that Dolores was smart, could hold her own, and be a valuable member of the team. Teddy was a bit reluctant because he was worried about her getting hurt, but ultimately agreed and couldn't have been happier with the choice.

Speaking of Teddy; he and Dolores had a great friendship, even before she started dating his brother. Maybe he was the one that set them up?

Dolores and Eddie actually did have plans to get married before. However, Teddy's death put those plans on hold, and with Eddie's depression and their struggle to stay afloat, it was silently agreed that things becoming official would be put off indefinitely. As such, some of Dolores' customers- usually the ones who aren't regulars- have flirted with her and tried to ask her out. Some, even after they find out she's with Eddie, try to convince her that he's no good for her or something. Though she's turned them all down.

After the events of the movie, she and Jessica get closer and become friends after realizing how much they had in common. It did take Dolores a while to trust Jessica after what she saw in the office, though ultimately their both able to move past it.

Dolores headcanon;

Because of her gift (and the fact she canonical can her something as a eye twitch) Dolores is really in tune with the human body she more the once probably heard someone having a panic attack or anxiety attack and hear the physical symptoms (fast heartbeat, slowly breathing ect)

So being curious she decided to look into why people have anxiety attack, which leads her to reading and study human anatomy and psychology (maybe sociology too)

She spend a lot of time with Julieta, being like “Tia this guy is having a panic attack he needs your food” or like “Tia the neighbor is having a bad depression episode can you check up on her?”

I love your dancing Bruno Headcannon. This gave me the idea that Bruno would dance with Dolores when she was little, complete with her standing on his feet. Dolores and Mariano’s wedding, Bruno asks Dolores to dance. Could you just imagine the two of them dancing together?

THIIIIIIS headcanon is everything 😭 💞 Dolores was definitely that kid that loved dancing on peoples’ feet!!

There’s a day in the month where everyone should be at the tower because pepper thinks it’s a good bonding experience (she just wants a day to herself)

Peter has a lot of sleepovers at the tower, he has his own room and when he does comes over, Thor, wanda and Loki stay with him and talk about magic and adventures throughout the globe

Loki doesn’t like strong bitter alcohol, the only alcohol he likes was the fruity kind and not so hard because he gets drunk quickly

Wanda and Natasha go on girl date nights together every two weeks and never tell anyone where exactly (they go to watch underground boxing then dinner)

Bruce has a funny relationship with broccoli, whenever he tries to eat it he thinks of halk

Since pepper is allergic to strawberries Tony buys her stuff with strawberry print on it just because it’s pretty hilarious and she does tend to wear his more silly gifts than the overly expensive ones

They all get paid, like actually paid for saving the city a couple of times, Tony throws his check at some fund raiser because he doesn’t need the money, while Thor uses his to buy outlandish things to bring home to asgard

Loki has an allowance, it’s humiliating in his eyes but when he does stay in Midgard he does

MORE Encanto Headcannons because they’re fun

- Bruno is super quiet when walking around, he’s the kinda guy to walk on his toes, he often jumpscares his sisters by accidentally sneaking up on them

- Casita has an umbrella in every room for whenever Pepa is unhappy, and emergency food kits for Julieta

- While he usually avoids touch, Bruno occasionally needs a tight hug from Luisa or Felix… and then Julieta’s food to heal his broken ribs❤️

- The rebuilt Casita kept the walls, but they are more of a quiet hangout spot rather than a dungeon of self-isolation

- Isabella decided to grow a corpse plant in her room, so now her room smells like shit, also there’s so much cacti, it would be impossible to go through her room without getting pricked.

- FINE 🙄 Dolores gets a sound-proof room, BUT ONLY AFTER the events of the movie, since Abuela is being more considerate of the others’ gifts

- Before she did tho, she would hang out in her parents’ room if things got too loud for her

- Isabella has a really ugly laugh, she snorts, and keels over, and it’s awfully contagious

- Dolores and Mirabel used to give makeovers to Camilo, they stopped when they got older, and Cami misses them 😔

- The rats taught Antonio swear words, and the entire family went into a frenzy when he dropped his first f-bomb

- Since Bruno sleeps in a hammock, it’s not too uncommon for him to have a vision while he sleeps, only to be abruptly woken up to a vision tablet shattering on the floor

- Luisa is not allowed to have stress balls anymore. No explanation needed.

- Mirabel does sewing commissions for the town, and Isa makes bouquet arrangements

- Bruno doesn’t dislike Mariano by any means, but he thinks he’s corny asf and his poetry is boring

Modern au headcannons for upcoming stories

These head cannons are for my modern au that is set in the early 90's and extends through to present day. Ocs will come later for right now Isa and Dolores are only smol

Pepa owns a small business where she makes custom jewelry with crystals she tumbles herself. She also makes photo frames and nerdy home decor to sell.

Julieta runs a catering business out of the home. She has plenty of room and is excellent at time management. Her clients always leave astonishingly large tips for her because the quality of her work is so high.

Agustin is a carpenter, he works from 6am to 8 pm on weekdays and has weekends off unless there is an important deadline. He usually brings home the biggest weekly pay unless it's the holidays, then Pepa brings in big bucks for her commissions.

Felix works with his brothers at their pool and outdoor refurbishment company, depending on the day he could install a pool, mow lawns, pressure wash sidewalks, etc. He goes in at 7am after dropping the kids at school and is often home either by or before 6 the next evening. Rare occasions have him working later especially if complications arise with a pool

Isa and Dolores are extremely crafty and responsible. There's always some type of craft or project in progress between them. In their spare time they like to do all sorts of things as far as sports or creativity goes.

Luisa is often roped into the eldest two's shenanigans and she loves it because sometimes she feels left out because she's two years younger than them.

Mirabel and Camilo love to run and play while Pepa and Julieta keep watch. When they're playing their favorite game to play is pretend, Camilo has such a big imagination and Mirabel feeds off of him. They can come up with some wild stories

Dolores and mariano are high school sweethearts

Casita keeps magically growing and each kid has a subdued gift (ex Pepa only controls the weather of the room she's in or has a small cloud above her head only, Isabela can only make flowers bloom or form flowers in her hands)

Bruno is a truck driver and is seldom home, he comes home only for holidays or if he's in the area.

The house is on a half acre property and is completely fenced in.

All kids have bicycles and roller skates. The five of them like to take the evening and go around the block. The eldest can go by themselves to most places in town. Luisa is usually accompanied but can go on her own if she pleases, Mir and Milo must be accompanied if they leave the property.

There is a large backyard swing set and play house for the children to play on.

The eldest girls have flip phones. Though they hardly ever use them unless it's an emergency. They all love playing games on the family Nintendo (GameCube, then Wii after Christmas 2003)

To prevent arguments each family member has their own Gamecube and Wii remote to use.
