thank you anon for this request! I think its so cute <3
----
For the past four days, you were in Cape Cod with your family. Joe unfortunately couldn't go because of football. This was a yearly trip for your family and it just didn't work with Joe's schedule this year. You were glad your requests off got approved from the hospital so you could have some family time.
You missed him dearly and the rest of your family wished he was there as well. Joe would always throw a football with your brother, play board games with your sister, and help your parents cook and clean.
You and Joe would text when you could. He loved to catch you up on his football practices and his activities when you weren't around. He mainly spent time at home alone, but what you didn't know was that he was shopping for an engagement ring for you while you were gone.
Your vacation continued and you enjoyed time with your family. Joe would FaceTime in occasionally when he wasn't busy or exhausted. Your family adored him.
As the week progressed, Joe continued with his practices and you continued to relax with your family. That is until you got a call you never wanted or expected.
"Hey y/n, it's Zac," your jaw dropped a little bit, knowing this couldn't be good.
"Hey Zac, what's going on?" you questioned.
"Well I've got some rough news. Joe suffered what we think is a tear in his rotator cuff and he's being taken to an orthopedic doctor. He doesn't have his phone on him so he wanted me to call you," Zac said through his end of the phone.
"Oh my god. Okay, will you let him know that I am gonna catch the next flight?" you panicked a little.
"Sure thing, he'll be happy to have you and your nurse-ly opinion. He's being taken to UC because he said you work with the best orthopedic doctor," Zac said, trying not to alarm you.
"Okay fantastic. Dr. Shran is who I work with, he's the best in the business. I'll page the hospital and tell them what's going on and make sure they take good care of him," you spoke before saying your goodbyes and thank yous to Zac for calling you.
Before beginning to pack up, you paged the hospital where you worked and let them know that Joe would be coming in. Dr. Shran was on board with what the most likely case was and he was instructed by you to take the best possible care of him.
You packed up your things that were scattered all over your vacation room, making sure to do a sweep of the room before leaving. You informed your family of what happened and they encouraged you to hurry to get home. Your dad offered to drive you to the airport and while in the passenger seat, you searched for the cheapest flight. You knew Joe would want you flying in first class and he would pay for the flight, but that is not what you cared about. You cared about getting home to Joe as quick as possible.
When pulling up to the airport, you said your goodbyes to your dad and unloaded your luggage as quick as you could. You successfully found a flight that left within the next hour and a half which gave you the perfect amount of time to do your TSA pre-check and get in the air.
The flight felt like the longest amount of time ever. You just wanted to get home to your injured quarterback.
Zac kept you updated as much as he could. You even paid for wifi on the plane to try to be in the know.
Upon your return to Cincinnati, you had an Uber take you started to UC. Nervous to see how bad this potential tear could be, you tried to calm yourself and remember that things like this happen and they’re almost routine to deal with in your life as a nurse. The Uber pulled up to the main entrance of the hospital, which was the opposite side of where you needed to be. You thanked your driver and gathered your belongings to head to go see Joe.
You held a brisk pace through the hospital hallways, feeling like the tiles grew longer and longer with each step. Within a few minutes, you were in the orthopedic section of the hospital. You found the board with the patient’s names and saw what room Joe had been assigned to. 37C was the number. You turned quickly from the board and down another hallway. As you approached the door, you heard some small talk coming from the room. Knocking, you went in to see your injured quarterback.
Zac was with Joe while he was waiting to be discharged, keeping him company until you arrived. Joe’s face lit up upon your entrance, ecstatic to see his smart orthopedic nurse girlfriend. Zac was happy to see you as well. He felt obligated to stay with Joe until you got back, which of course he didn’t mind, but he was ready to be home with his own family.
“Thanks Zac for keeping me filled in, you have no idea how much it helped ease me,” you said, leaning in to give Zac a side hug before he headed out.
After the door closed behind Zac, you approached the right side Joe’s bed. He expected that you would want to get your hands on his arm to see what was going on. Even though he saw your favorite doctor, he knew you wouldn’t be totally convinced unless you sussed it out yourself.
“Ow babe that hurts,” Joe whined as you slowly lifted up his right arm to check on it’s mobility.
“I’m sorry Joey, I know. I just wanna see for myself,” you said as you kept feeling around Joe’s shoulder and arm.
“I’m gonna go talk to Dr. Shran and let him know I’m gonna need the next few months off. I’m not letting you out of my sight, Burrow,” you pointed toward him as you walked out the door, heading to Dr. Shran’s office.
Your discussion with Dr. Shran was kind and from the heart, and he agreed to let you take as much time off as you needed. It helped that you were always one of his favorite employees. And, it also helped that your boyfriend was the starting quarterback of the Bengals football team.
As you arrived back at Joe’s room, you saw a nice sling waiting for him. While his injury wasn’t as bad as the other rotator cuff injuries you’ve seen, it was still super important to make sure he didn’t push his limits.
“Here babe, let’s get this thing on you so we can head out,” you said as you grabbed the sling, assisting Joe’s sore and painful arm into the device.
“So how bad is it? Did you get to talk to Dr. Shran?” Joe questioned.
“I did and I’ll be taking a lot of time off within the near future,” you said as you helped him get his shoes on to depart the hospital. Luckily, Zac had snagged Joe’s football bag before meeting him at the hospital, so Joe’s keys were in the bag. Zac was kind enough to drive Joe’s car over to the hospital parking garage.
After signing the discharge papers, you and Joe took what seemed to be a rather long walk to the car. He had a hard time letting you carry his bag, insisting on carrying it on his not hurt arm. You strongly disagreed, knowing you had to be harsh with him because of the nature of the injury. The same thing happened when he said he wanted to drive home.
“Absolutely not, Joe. You’re gonna be the passenger princess for once. There is no way in hell I will let you behind a steering wheel right now,” you scolded him as you found the car in the parking garage. You assisted him in the car, "oh how the turns table," Joe joked as you closed his door.
Upon your arrival home, you grabbed Joe's bag out of the back seat and led him inside. He continued to mope around the house at the fact that he can't do his favorite things for a while. Football, video games, you...
Joe finally sat down after pacing around the house for a little bit. You could tell he was frustrated. The good thing was that it was very early in the off season, only a few weeks after the super bowl.
"Y/nnnn," Joe whined from the couch while you were in the kitchen preparing a snack. You left the kitchen to tend to Joe.
"Yes Joey?" you questioned as you walked toward the living room.
"I'm bored. Can you entertain me?" He begged.
"Listen here, Burrow. We're gonna set some ground rules, okay?" you said, looking deeply into his eyes then sitting down next to him.
You grabbed his left hand, the arm that wasn't injured. "While I am taking time off to take care of you, that doesn't mean I'm gonna wait on you hand and foot, got it?" you looked at him as he nodded his head, "I'm always happy to take care of you, but I need you to be willing to communicate with me and let me know how your pain levels are and such. You can still do a handful of things yourself, you're not completely bed-bound. You know I love you and will do anything in my power to help you heal, but I just need you to cooperate with me," you said, leaving a kiss on Joe's head while trying to get up. He grabbed at your arm, pulling you back into the couch.
"Y/n, can you do anything about the pain? The meds are starting to wear off and being loopy is also kinda fun," Joe joked with you. Luckily, since you knew Joe so well, you could still give him pain meds even though he had joked about liking to be loopy.
"Sure baby, let me go get you the snack I was working on. I don't want you to take them on an empty stomach," you said, getting up from the couch to go grab the snack and bottle of water.
You brought back the goods and you and Joe began to snack while watching Spongebob, his comfort show. After he had eaten enough, he gulped down the pain meds you brought him. Out of precaution, you figured it was best to take Joe up to bed. It was late already and sometimes pain meds can make people sleepy.
With Joe being high maintenance, you figured you'd have to help him get ready for bed. After going through all of his nighttime routine, you were able to tuck him into bed. Joe took quickly to the pain meds and began to act a little silly, as he would say.
"Will you lay with me? I've missed you so much," Joe pleaded, missing your smell.
"Of course babe, let me put on some pjs and turn off the lights downstairs and then I'll get in bed," you said after pulling the blanket over his legs. You made your way downstairs, making sure the doors were locked, the lights were turned off, and everything was safe and sound for the night. You headed back up the stairs and grabbed your favorite pjs, heading to the bathroom to brush your teeth and do your own nighttime routine.
The lights were all turned out, but the soft glow of Spongebob on the TV was what was left to illuminate the room. Climbing in bed, you kissed Joe's forehead and cuddled into the blankets. Joe, still slightly awake, did what he could to pull you closer. You were still laying partially sat up, and Joe rested his head on your chest.
"Thank you in advance for taking care of me and taking time off work. I promise I'll make it up to you,"
“Don’t even worry about it Burrow, it’s kinda my job,” you soothed him, patting down his hair.
“I’m gonna marry you some day, y/n,” Joe slurred out, your cheeks grew hot, your heart fluttering at his loopy words.
“Well, then I can’t wait for that day. But for now, get some rest sleepy head,” you kissed the top of his head and made sure he fell asleep okay. Thoughts of engagement and marriage danced in your head, imagining the day your life would be officially complete.

NYC, Mat Barazl
You’re first vacation together. You’re nervous because you don’t like to fly. However, Mat doesn’t know this bc you’ve never flown together. You start to panic at take off ( you can go from there) you eventually make it your destination (somewhere tropical) and then you can go into as much or little detail as you would like. I hope this makes sense.
tysm for the request! I actually also am terrified to fly and one time this old lady next to me held my hand for takeoff and landing and it was super sweet!
word count: 1.3k
come along the world trip
📍bali, indonesia with mat barzal
"At this moment, we'd like to invite the first class and business class passengers to board the aircraft." Your boyfriend next to you stood, collecting his things. You couldn't stand up, nervously looking around the airport and out the window at the other airplanes in the sky. You hated flying. You didn't do it often and the few other times you did you always had panic attacks. The idea of being suspended in the air and having no control left you panicked the entire time and once turbulence were added, all you wanted to do was run.
"Babe, that's us," Mat said, waving a hand in front of you to get your attention. "I don't get to take a vacation often but when I do, I do it right."
You snapped out of your panicking and gave a small laugh while gathering your things. "Still asleep?," he asked jokingly, to which you nodded. You had to get up very early to leave for the airport and catch your flight and due to your discomfort about flying, you had barely slept that night.
You were able to board quickly and get comfortable in your extra specious seats. Maybe with this extra room you wouldn't feel as cramped and scared.
"You okay?," Mat asked after a while and leaned over his seat ledge to see you better, when he noticed your leg shaking and that you barley answered him in the last few minutes.
"Yeah!" You tried to sound enthusiastic, but failed. "I'm just excited."
"Me, too." He kissed you. "Sand, sun, ocean, you in a bikini. Yeah, this is gonna be good."
You had no doubt about that. It was just getting to Bali that freaked you out and made you consider staying home. But it was your first vacation with him and the pictures you had seen of Bali looked absolutely amazing, so you just had to bite the bullet. Everything would be fine.
Once everyone was on board, it was finally time to leave. Your heartbeat increased dramatically when the plane started moving. Your hands gripped together tightly and your eyes shut tightly, too, turned away from your boyfriend. But that didn't stop him from noticing something was wrong.
"Hey!" He leaned over to your side again and placed his big hand on top of both of yours that were pulling at each other. "What's wrong?"
You couldn't ignore him any longer, so you turned to face him reluctantly. "I hate flying." Your voice was barely a whisper, hating to admit your fear.
"Oh, love." He tried to figure out how to pull you into his arms, but the first class seats were not designed for that. So he settled for his other hand that gently curled around the side of your face and caressed your cheek. "Why didn't you tell me?" You shrugged and in that moment the plane started speeding up, getting enough speed to take off. You shut your eyes again and your entire body went rigid. "It's ok. You're ok." He was able to kiss your forehead before being pushed back into his own seat. His hands stilled cradled you, definitely helping you get through it and once the plane settled in the air you could feel your heartbeat slow a bit.
"Better?" You slowly opened your eyes and looked directly into his green ones. You had fallen in love with them the first time you saw them and were amazed at how well they could calm you. You nodded, actually meaning it as your body began to relax a bit. As long as you didn't look out the window or there wouldn't be any turbulence, you could do this.
"Why didn't you tell me?," he asked again, gently. "We could have gone somewhere else that doesn't require flying or at least somewhere we wouldn't have to take multiple planes and fly for a day."
"No, it's ok. I have to get over this fear. And you got so excited talking about Bali, I didn't want to say no. I wanna go on this trip with you." He smiled when you did and softly placed his lips on yours.
"I love you. But next time please tell me about something big like this." You both laughed. "Honestly, we could have just gone down to Florida. Or even stayed on Long Island. They have beaches there I could see you walking around in a bikini in. That's all I need." You rolled your eyes.
"I promise. I want to see the wolf with you, though. Just don't let go of my hand." And he didn't. For the entirety of the flight, minus meal time, he held on to your hand and even when he dozed off he squeezed it every once in a while, letting you know that everything was going to be alright and that he was always by your side.
The rest of your travels wasn't any different. Takeoff and landing were still hard for you, but the actual flight was fairly smooth. You had a good book with you and the movie selection was great so there were a lot of distractions. Mat also kept you occupied and distracted which you were very thankful for. However, the flying anxiety prevented you from sleeping all day, even during your layover you barely slept a couple of hours. So when you finally, finally, made it to your private little villa right on the water, you crashed in bed almost immediately. You slept for hours and hours, now that the anxiety was gone and when you woke up, you felt like a brand new person.
"Morning, sleepy head." Mat, shirtless by the way, saw you stretch from outside and came walking into the bedroom. He climbed on the bed and laid down right on top of you. His lips started wandering along your cheeks and neck. "Sleep good?"
You nodded and rubbed your eyes again. "What time is it?"
"Almost six. At night." He grinned. If you remembered correctly you had gotten there at eight in the morning. "But I didn't want to wake you. You really needed the sleep."
Your arms wrapped around him, pulling him in first for a kiss and then a hug. Wordlessly, you stayed in bed like this for a while until you had woken up enough.
"Hungry?"
"Starving." Your little villa was part of a resort so Mat ordered room service and while you waited you took a little tour of the place and changed into a new outfit. It was basically one open room, which half walls separating the bathroom from the bedroom and from the living area with a small kitchen. On the deck was an outdoor shower, another sitting area and of course the pool from which you could jump right into the ocean.
"This is so beautiful." You we're standing on the deck looking out into the ocean where the sun was slowly starting to set. You leaned into your boyfriend who came to stand behind you and wrapped your arms around his neck.
"Worth the travel and flying?"
"Absolutely." He kissed your cheek and enjoyed the peaceful moment between the two of you.
After your meal, Mat practically changed you into your bikini himself and then carried you into the pool. The hot tub definitely got used a bit more though and that outdoor shower also got its first use of your stay...

A Man On Fire - Chapter 86
It was like she had the wind knocked out of her, court? Neglect and abuse? So now the tables were turned on her? They were treating her like a criminal..her own parents, or no, she wasn’t even family anymore, they had officially disowned her..Jared, she needed to call him, she needed to hear his voice telling her that everything would be ok..in his arms she would feel ok again…in his arms she could find comfort and not feel like she was the loneliest person alive. Her whole body felt numb and she barely had the strength anymore to hold the document, the words on the letter danced before her eyes “will that be all? Can I go now?” she breathed and the lawyer nodded. Her high heeled boots could barely carry her as she swayed out of the elevator, her phone, she needed to call someone, anyone, her vision blurred by tears she ignored all the notifications and pressed the first name that came up in her contacts, her brother, it couldn’t possibly be true what her parents had said about him, that he was in on this whole scheming and framing, “Arno?” her heart jumped as the line connected, why didn’t he say anything? “Arno, devo parlarti”. But all she heard was ‘mi dispiace, mi dispiace Coco” and a dry click followed, WHAT???? NOOOOOO, please god NOOOO, you can’t leave me, you can’t!!! sobbing uncontrollably her phone clattered to the hard concrete outside, no, please work..please please, she picked up her dead phone but no matter how hard she pushed the button, the phone just wouldn’t jump back to life, where could she go, what could she do? She didn’t know Jared’s number by heart, ok focus, focus goddammit Coco!
On the other side of the world a plane was setting in the landing for Sydney, by now he was out of his mind with worry, no call, no text, no mail from her or her brother, something was wrong, he could feel it in the pit of his stomach. As soon as the plane touched down, he got absorbed by the hussle and bussle of getting out of the airport as soon as possible.
I can’t stay here in NY, I just can’t, I need to see Jared, I need to be with him, this was the right decision, Coco, her mind was racing while she swiped her credit card through the machine. “OK, Miss, here’s your boarding card, hurry the plane will start boarding shortly, gate 18” the man behind the counter pointed her in the right direction. How she got through customs so quick she didn’t know, her feet were killing her from all the running she had done but miraculously she ended up at the gate just in time, here went absolutely nothing, as the airplanedoor was closed right behind her
”No news?” Shannon came walking into his brother’s room, “nothing” it was the despair in his voice that got to him, “I wouldn’t worry too much, her battery’s flat or something, you know how she is, she never owned a phone before you came along, what time is it in the States? Maybe she’s gone straight to bed, I’m sure you’ll hear from her in the morning”, it was endearing how his brother tried to put his mind at ease, but he knew better, something was wrong, this was gonna be a long night..hopefully his jetlag would give him some solace. “I hope so” he sighed “I really hope so”.
”Miss, are you ok, you haven’t touched any of your food”, the flight attendant took away her tray “I’m just not hungry” she forced a weak smile, thank god for business class, the little bit of attention she got made her feel a little bit less alone. “I’m sorry, but I dropped my phone and I can’t seem to get it back to life anymore, and I really need to contact my…my boyfriend” maybe the flight attendant was a little bit more tech savvy than she was. “Can I have a try?” the girl gently asked and she quickly handed her the phone, but no matter how much she pushed the button, the screen remained black “if you know your boyfriend’s number then we can send him a message, or maybe an email”. Coco bit her lip and shook her head, how the hell was she gonna find him? This was like looking for a needle in a haystack, what had she done? She was lost and alone and completely helpless, she could feel her heart breaking into a million little pieces knowing that she no longer was part of a family, she was not enough, never was and never would be again, her past had been taken from her and actually so was her future. They had made the world a lot more hollow for her by the stroke of a pen, all gone, all done, never looking back.
Hours and hours later, she was standing in the midst of Sydney airport, everyone in a rush to get to their destinations, her fingers fondled the dead phone in her pocket, ok, think, there’s what seems to be a phoneshop, go buy yourself a new phone, these guys would definitely be able to help her find Jared’s number, ok come on, don’t be shy, oh who am I kidding? Come on, so what if they call you a tech retard?. “Hello, can I help you?” a young man approached her with the typical smooth sales smile, “I hope so, my phone doesn’t work anymore, I was hoping that you could maybe fix it?” she hesitantly showed him her tattered phone. “Fix it?” he huffed “we have an entire wall here of brand new phones, Android or iPhone, which one would you prefer, do you have everything stored in your Cloud? Do you use e-sim,.” What? A cloud, android? Sim? Her cheeks going bright red she stammered, “it’s ok, I’ll wait, thanks for your time though” all embarrassed and ashamed of herself, she quickly beelined it out of the shop. She was tired, jetlagged, hungry and thirsty and she missed Jared, ok think, think for god’s sakes..what hotel was he staying in? nope, she didn’t remember, how many hotels could this city have? I’ll do this the old fashioned way then. ”Where to, Miss?” the cabdriver asked her, “every 4 or 5 star hotel in Sydney that you can think of”
Everywhere she went, she was frowned upon or ignored or even kindly requested to leave the hotel premises, they all thought she was a stupid fan trying to sneak into the hotelroom of her idol. He seemed to have vanished off the face of the earth, “no luck?” the cabdriver asked as she got back in and shook her head, “you know, these stars they never use their own name to book a room, it’s always some kind of Disney or cartooncharacter, you know” he casually steered the car back into the heavy traffic. Oh great, a Disney character, no way, he would never do that, oh god, her mind just felt so incredibly numb, it felt like she had been travelling forever, would this goddamn nightmare just end? Despite the cab driver’s good advice of using Disney characters names, she was still frowned upon and requested to leave, she got out of the cab, this was the last hotel on the list, if this didn’t work, then she would get herself a room here, get some sleep and then fly back..home..there was no home for her anymore, ok yes her apartment in New York  but just thinking about NY and her parents who would still be there made it another no-go zone for her.
”Welcome to the Park Hyatt hotel, how can I help you?” the receptionist gave her a beaming smile, “Hi, I’m looking for someone who is possibly staying here with you, his name is Jared Leto, I’m his girlfriend and I would join him here in Australia, but my phone is broken and now there’s no way I can reach him..” The receptionist interrupted her “I’m sorry, but we’re not allowed to give any information on our residents”, so once again the same blabla.. “I know, and I understand, but this is an emergency..I know he’s probably not listed under Leto but I really need to see him, he’s expecting me” she was getting desperate knowing that this was her last chance, for fuck’s sakes Leto, are you even in Australia or was that just some excuse to get rid of me too, Cubbins?. “I’m sorry, Miss, like I said, I really can’t give you any info..” he rattled but she quickly breathed “Cubbins, Bart, Bartholomew Cubbins” all of a sudden it dawned on her that this might be the name he was registered under. “Just a moment, and your name is?” oh my god, bingo, he was actually here? “Harper Coco De Robiano d’Arcy” saying her name out loud, realizing the horror and the emptiness behind it, gave her a foul taste in her mouth. The receptionist gestured for her to take a seat in the lobby and went to another more private desk to make his call.
Jared’s heart was doing summersaults in his chest as he hammered the elevator button, she was here, she was finally here, he had been out of his mind with worry, it didn’t matter anymore, his lover, the love of his life had kept her promise. It took so long, Harper hung her head, the receptionist still hadn’t returned to his desk, what if he wasn’t here either? and now she had paid the cabdriver and let him go. Jared jumped out of the elevator, his eyes scanning the huge lobby, front desk nothing to be seen, his heart stopped beating for a second, when his eyes finally found her in a huge chair, completely lost in her own thoughts. “Coco..!!” she heard her name echo around the lobby, oh god, he was here and she shot up from her seat and ran straight into his open arms
”You’re here, you’re finally here, I love you so so so so much, babe!!!” he held her tight, he could even feel her hammering heart through his shirt, his hungry lips locked with hers in a much overdue and fiery kiss. In between kisses, he kept on whispering his love for her, “come on, let’s go to my room, I don’t need this audience” he grinned as he slowly let go of her and she noticed the staring eyes in the lobby. She mouthed a ‘thank you’ to the receptionist who had been willing to enable their reunion and followed Jared to the elevator where she pushed herself against him, she had so needed him, crawling into his arms again in complete silence, just knowing that they were together again was enough.
"I still can’t believe you’re here, I tried calling you, texting, sending you e-mails, what happened?” he closed the door of his penthouse suite behind her, he wanted to throw her on the bed straight away, but something was going on, he could see and feel it, she was so lost in her own thoughts all the way up her. “I dropped my phone, it won’t switch on again, I tried but I couldn’t remember your number, and that guy at the airport tried to sell my a new phone, but I just…I’m just too stupid for all that new technology and then I didn’t know what hotel you were staying at, and I’ve been in every hotel looking for you, but they didn’t believe me and I..” she rattled, fishing her phone out of her purse as if to prove it, “I’m sorry, Jared, I’m so sorry” all the stress and all the madness suddenly caught up with her and she just couldn’t hold back the tears that came streaming down her face. “Hey, shhhhh it’s ok, don’t cry” he held her again, what the hell had happened? This was not some normal release of a little bit of stress, there was more to it than that, “come on, let’s sit you down” he guided her over to the couch “what happened, tell me, this is not about your phone..how did things go with your parents?” he let go of her and poured her a drink, the minute he mentioned the word ‘parents’ he noticed her freeze up completely. This was going to be a long night, but he had time, why did he convince her to go see her parents when it obviously did more bad than good?

Fate
Park Sunghoon x OC | AU | Oneshot | Angst
Tumblr media
Going back to Seoul was never a part of Sunghoon’s plan. All the efforts of burying the memories of that failed relationship went to waste when his parents blackmailed him into coming back home. Maybe Seoul still had something in store for him, just maybe…
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
Sunghoon trudged his way through the busy terminals within Heathrow Airport this late afternoon. He is set to fly back to Seoul, his once-called home, after avoiding it for the past half-decade. The memories he forcefully buried at the back of his mind had resurfaced when his mother’s assistant called him the day before to advise of his booked flight, not giving further details on why or what, and that it was adamant that he went home.
Ah, that dreadful, dreadful place… he mused, knowing that he didn’t have much choice on this matter, knowing fully that his mother wouldn’t hesitate to do something insane again, and he doesn’t want that, his younger sister would blame him again.
Seoul wasn’t this scary to him before, not before breaking up with his first love, Choi Ahri.
For Sunghoon, Ahri had the most beautiful and radiant smile, a cliché as it may sound, she was different from all the girls he’s met, no one ever compared to her up until now.
He still remembers that it was Spring when they met under the shade of a cherry blossom tree in their University. She was sitting there and absorbed in reading one of his favorite books, Angels and Demons. Call it love at first sight, as it was that.
There was a magnetic force that lured him, and she approached her without thinking how rude it was. “I heard Vittoria’s character was much better than Sophie’s?” he said as he sat beside her, without a care in the world.
She gave him that smile without any hesitations, “Yeah, Sophie is such a weakling.” And that’s where it all started.
He shook his head as boarded the plane, hoping to shake off all the recollections he’d ever had of her. Who knows where she is now, how long has passed, 5, 6 years? His mind and heart keep on betraying him, it has always been her.
Sunghoon did everything to forget about Ahri, he really did; he tried to see other people, it only ended in failure each time. He, and his friends, knew it was hopeless. It had only been her all along, no one else.
There was a little girl seated at the assigned seat on the other side of the aisle, while eating, mint chocolates. This reminded him of Ahri again, plus their other friend, Sunoo, who loves mint chocolates. He shuddered just thinking of how much it resembles toothpaste.
“You want some?” the little girl said with a toothy smile. He smiled back and shook his head. Mint chocolates were his go-to for bribing Ahri every time she got mad at him, he would just buy her these and she would then suppress a smile, pretending that she was still mad. “My mom said that this is the bestest in the whole world!” Sunghoon couldn’t help but laugh, finding the little girl adorable.
“What’s your name?” the little girl asked while eyeing him.
“I’m Sunghoon, what about you?”
“My name is Reese, just like the chocolate, my mom tells me it’s because I’m the sweetest. Why are you going to South Korea?”
“Because--” Sunghoon was cut off by another woman, he assumed that it was Reese’s mom.
“Reese, don’t be naughty, don’t bother the nice guy.” she gave him an apologetic smile.
“No, it’s okay. I like kids, and she’s a smart girl.”
She apologized again and warned the kid about not bothering other people, but then stepped away, leaving Reese on her own accord again, Sunghoon saw how the kid made a face while rolling her eyes, he can’t help but chuckle.
I guess it’s safe to leave their kids unattended since they’re in first class. And this kid is having the time of her life! Her parents must be rich! Sunghoon couldn’t help but wonder.
The kid started to have a little chat with him again, and he was getting entertained until the flight attendant asked for them to put their seatbelts on, as she also helped the kid.
Before shutting off his phone, he made sure to send a message to their group chat, since his best friends were the ones who would pick him up at the airport.
Sunghoon: See you in 12 hours, idiots!
Jay: You’re the idiot, you should also get a cab going home!
Heeseung: I hope you get stuck in the airport, asshole!
Jake: You’re walking home.
Another wave of nostalgia hit him when the plane took off, he was reminded of when he left Seoul so he can continue his studies in London on scholarship, they had planned to live together in the UK, she’d follow him there once he’s settled.
Their relationship continued, even if they were halfway around the world from each other, until he got a phone call from her one evening.
“Sunghoon, let’s talk.”
“Is something wrong?”
“I’m sorry, I can no longer be with you.”
“I need an explanation.” His grip on the phone tightened, at the same time he sat on the edge of his bed, finding support.
She paused before answering, “I… no longer… love you… It won’t work out.”
“I’m going home Ahri, I’m booking a flight now.” He switched to speakers and got on his laptop immediately.
“You won’t find me, Sunghoon. Please stop with your delusions that we will end up together!” she half yelled over the phone, “I’m going back to my family!”
“But… you told me you don’t have a family…” Sunghoon didn’t know but Ahri was also devastated. She chose not to disclose the reason for their breakup.
“I have to go Sunghoon, goodbye!” With that, she hung up the phone. Sunghoon tried to call her back, but his call could no longer go through.
He desperately begged his friends to find her, even using up all their connections but it’s like she vanished into thin air, no one could find her.
Jake immediately got on the earliest flight going to London, while Jay and Heeseung stayed for a few more days making an effort to find her.
Jay hired a private investigator, and Heeseung went to question her best friends, Sunoo and Jungwon, only to find out that she had dropped out of their university and that they couldn’t find her as well.
༻✦༺ ༻✧༺ ༻✦༺
The plane landed about half past 6 in South Korea. He was still a bit groggy from the nap. He knew that he had to face the fact that he might see her with someone new, he didn’t know how to handle it, but he knew that he must accept whatever happens.
“Goodbye Mister Sunghoon, we’ll be leaving now!” It was Reese, saying farewell to him. “I hope to see you again!”
Sunghoon waved back and said goodbye as well. At least that little kid made him smile.
He was pushing his luggage to the Arrivals area when he saw his friends that were smiling too much. He too was delighted, couldn’t even deny it, as it had been ages since he’d last seen the other three.
“Wait, I have to call my mom to let her know I’m here.”
The guys got his bags and loaded them into Heeseung’s car which was parked nearby.
“Mom, I just landed. The guys are here, too.” I spoke into the phone once she picked up.
“Oh good! Finally, you’re home!” she exclaimed, “You’re staying here, right?”
“Yes, mother. But let me stay over at Jake’s for a few days, I’ll just catch up with the guys. What is this about?” he asked suspiciously.
“Let’s talk tomorrow, son. Meet us for lunch at Stay, in Signiel Hotel. We have a flight in the evening going to Beijing. Bring Jongseong, Heeseung and Jaeyun. It’s been a while since we last saw them!”
“I’ll let them know, hopefully, they’re free.” Her mother then cut the call short, not even a single hint on what was she up to, but Sugnhoon knew that her mother was up to something.
“Hey, you okay?” Jay nudged Sunghoon as the two sat in the back seat, letting Heeseung drive.
“Yeah, sorry I spaced out.” He chuckled at himself, “By the way, are you guys free tomorrow, lunch time?”
“I should be, I’m technically on leave until Friday.” Heeseung was the first who answered.
“Taking a leave from your own company? That’s funny.” Jake commented, earning a smack from Heeseung.
Jay laughed at the two, then answered Sunghoon’s question, “I’m free, took a leave since you’d be home.”
“Me, three!” Jake chimed in, still laughing at the irony of it all. All of them are technically reporting to their own parents, and sooner if not later, these companies will transition to the next generation of chaebols.
“Mom’s asking if you want to join us for lunch tomorrow.” Sunghoon invited the guys.
“Why are you even asking us? You know we’d never say no!” Heeseung says, as Jay was nodding along with him.
“Even if we had plans, we’d definitely cancel them.”
The tiny gesture made Sunghoon grin, the bond was still there, even if he feels he left them long ago. Maybe this is not so bad.
༻✦༺ ༻✧༺ ༻✦༺
Everyone decided to crash at Jake’s place, ordered takeout and have an early night as they didn’t want to be late for today’s lunch rendezvous, they also knew that Sunghoon’s dad was pretty strict with time.
The four of them were first to arrive and they were accompanied to a private room by the receptionist. The place is grand, and it looked expensive for Sunghoon’s taste, he was no longer used to the affluent life. He learned to earn his own money when he was in London, which made him frugal. All the allowance his parents sent him was never touched, he kept it as an emergency fund, in case he decides to flee to another country again.
When his parents arrived a few minutes after they settled, everyone suddenly became quiet. His friends greeted his parents politely, and the latter were just pleased to see the boys after a long time, Sunghoon’s dad asked about their companies, and his mom was emotional upon seeing the boys and his son after such a long time.
The meal was not as quiet as the four friends had expected, they kept on talking and the elders were intent in listening to them.
“Sunghoon, honey, there’s something that we needed to talk to you about.” Her mom started when desserts and wine were served. His three friends started to look at each other and he noticed this, he knew that they had an idea on what’s going on. It was probably something along the lines of passing down the company or forming a pact.
It might be the merging of companies. These three must have known. He silently thought. He can only nod at his parents.
“Who will it be?” Sunghoon questioned nonchalantly, taking a bite of the dessert he chose.
“She’s the only daughter of the Choi-Han Financial group. We will have dinner with their family this weekend.” His dad explained, the only thing he can do was nod.
“They’re a close family friend, I know you’ve met them before.” His mom then added, and it dawned on him, he had met them before, but he doesn’t remember them having a daughter.
“I thought they didn’t have a daughter, or son?” Sunghoon is still contemplating on that one fact. The guys have been avoiding his eyes, so they knew.
“They do, but she left after her high school graduation, her mother says she’s headstrong and wanted to pursue a career in Arts… it’s a long story.”
He continued with what was left of his food in complete silence, listening to everyone continue the discussion until his parents needed to leave to go to the airstrip, saying that they’d be back in a couple of days.
“So, you guys know.” Sunghoon mumbled, but loud enough for everyone to hear. They ordered another bottle of wine to consume.
“I’m sorry Hoon,” Jay was the first on to speak, “we only found out yesterday, from our parents. It wasn’t our place to tell.”
He pursed his lips, he wasn’t annoyed per se, it was more like the feeling of betrayal, yet he understood. They knew since they were kids that something like this was bound to happen, especially being the only male descendants in their respective families.
“I guess it’s okay.” He finally looked at his three friends, “it was expected.”
“I hope she’s easy to look at, at least.” Jake kidded.
“Bad joke, dude! Bad joke.” Heeseung rolled his eyes, but still earned a laugh from the other two.
“Is that all you can think about, Jake? You’d be forever alone!” Sunghoon laughed at him. “You’re pathetic!”
༻✦༺ ༻✧༺ ༻✦༺
Saturday came, the day he was set to meet his future wife and the future in-laws. He didn’t think about it much the previous days. Sunghoon had always been the type to question his parents’ decisions, but his life had been in a downward spiral since Ahri left, so he blindly agreed to this.
I’m 24 years old, and still incapable of making my own decisions. Maybe this will be best for me. He muttered when he finally reached the place he called home. It still had the same vibe from when he left. He missed the whiff of spring that emulated from her mom’s garden, he missed his old room, he missed everything here. This even reminds me so much of her. If my parents have met her before, they would’ve loved her.
In the next hour, they made their way to his soon to be in-laws place. His dad was driving, and his mom couldn’t stop babbling about the family. “They do own the biggest financial company in South Korea and Japan, and this will be good for our company. It was also a pact made by your grandparents and hers, they’ve made this agreement before to have you and their only daughter get married. I’m not sure if it was true though, but I think that young lady now is a single mother.”
“Great! So it’s like a buy one take one deal, huh?” Sunghoon retorted. He was in no mood to discuss such things. “I’m sorry Mom, Dad, I didn’t mean to sound like a jerk.”
They drove in complete silence after that.
When they got to the place, Sunghoon was still quiet.
“Kyunghee, Sungho, welcome!” a modest man greeted the family of three, gave both Sunghoon’s parents a quick hug. “Is this already your Sunghoon? He’s grown to be a handsome young man!” He also welcomed Sunghoon with a quick hug.
His mom beamed with pride, “He did, did he? And where’s your angel?”
“She’s still upstairs but will join us soon. She’s still a bit tired from her trip yesterday.”
“Hello mister Sunghoon! You’re here.” A little girl appeared from one of the
“Oh hi! What are you doing here?” Sunghoon crouched down to be able to meet her eyes. The elders both exchanged confused looks.
“I was seated beside her on the plane,” Sunghoon explained, and they both laughed.
“I was also giving him some cotton candy, but he said nah-uh!” Sunghoon couldn’t help but be charmed by this little girl. “Grampy, is he going to be my new dad?”
Sunghoon was taken aback, but he smiled and said, “is that okay with you?”
The little girl’s face lit up, and instantly hugged him. He really couldn’t resist cute kids.
“Reese, why don’t you call mommy upstairs and tell her that the guests are already here.”
She obediently followed and ran upstairs.
They were now settled at the dining table discussing the events for the engagement and wedding, Sunghoon was just nodding and smiling every time, but he wasn’t really listening.
“She’s here.” Mr. Choi suddenly interrupted the discussion.
Sunghoon didn’t dare to turn his head around, she was not sure if she wanted to see his future wife.
“Hi, I’m sorry to make you wait…” She spoke. Sunghoon suddenly stopped as he heard that familiar voice, he looked at the girl and saw the face that was permanently engulfed in his mind, “Ahri…”
“Sunghoon?” She was equally shocked.
“You know each other?” Their parents were also astounded.
++++
“Hoon, I’m s-sorry.” Were the only things she said. Sunghoon stood up and dragged her quickly to some place where they could talk. He was furious.
“You’re hurting me…. Hoon, please.” Ahri spoke as tears were forming in her eyes.
“Don’t’ call me that! What’s this about? Huh?”, he was almost yelling, he was confused, he should be happy but he needed clarification.
“I didn’t know that it was you.” she stammered. “I broke up with you because I was going to marry…” she couldn’t complete the sentence, she found it a bit funny. She then stifled her giggle.
“What’s so funny?”
“I broke up with you because I was going to marry you!” she smiled, that sweet smile of hers.
“so it means we wasted almost half a decade of our lives not being with each other.” Sunghoon understood what she meant, and he laughed with her. But there was still one thing though, “what about Reese?”
“She’s your daughter.” She explained. “I broke up with you when I learned that I was pregnant with your child. I couldn’t bear letting you know when I knew from the beginning that I wasn’t going to marry you… or so I thought.”
“And you said you didn’t have a family…”
“I ran away from home when I learned that they were going to engage me with someone I didn’t know. So, I went to Seoul to live alone.”
Sunghoon had finally nodded, he realized that they were for each other, and he knew that Ahri knew that too.
“My parents are going to kill me if they find out that I left you to be a single mother…”
Ahri laughed at this, “I guess I’ll be a widow early in life.”
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t know.” He took this way too seriously. “I should’ve been there for you.”
“It’s okay, Hoon. It’s all in the past,” she smiled at him again, before tiptoeing to give him a kiss, “I’m just glad that it’s you and not anyone else.”
She’s right. Sughoon couldn’t resist and grabbed her by the nape and gave her the most passionate kiss ever, she succumbed to the overwhelming emotions she felt, Ahri found it indeed amusing that she tried so hard to stay away from him and go under the radar for nothing.
“Once Jungwon and Sunoo find out about this, I’ll never hear the end of it.” Ahri mused.
“You still talk to them?”
“Of course! They’re my best friends, Hoon. You know that.”
“Yeah, but Jay asked them before about your whereabouts and they said they didn’t know.”
This made Ahri laugh so hard, “I’m their friend, Hoon. Remember that their loyalty is with me.” She said matter-of-factly, “It’s the same when my friends asked Jake about you, he said he didn’t know!”
“Jake wouldn’t do that.” He frowned. “He didn’t say anything!”
“Call him. Ask.” She ordered, but he didn’t comply.
“Mommy, they asked me to call you and Mister Sunghoon…” Reese came out of nowhere and she grabbed both Sunghoon’s hand and then Ahri’s. Sunghoon looked at his newly discovered daughter and became teary-eyed.
“So… how are we going to tell the parents?” Ahri interrupted his thoughts, “but you should tell them, you were the one who left anyway.”
Before Sunghoon could even retort, his mother interrupted, “Glad you finally decided to join us.”
Her mother also added, “Is there something we should know?”
Ahri looked at Sunghoon before taking her seat and leaving him in the spotlight.
“Uh, you see, Reese is my daughter…”
Dumbfounded was an understatement, and when the elders grasped the idea that he wasn’t joking, Sunghoon got bombarded with questions.
He looked at his now fiancé begging for help, but she was stifling a laugh while helping their daughter with her food. He didn’t have a choice but to explain what happened, starting from how they met and their breakup.
At least the worst is over, we have each other now. He thought to himself, as he reached out for her hand under the table and intertwined it with his.

Chapter: 1/?
Trigger Warning: There is a smut scene in this chapter
Lillian tapped her foot while waiting in line. There were two people waiting in front of her.
“Ugh,” she groaned as she checked her phone again.
She was supposed to leave on a private plane with Lena and her fiancé Andrea five hours ago to help with wedding preparations, but of all days Morgan Edge wanted to start a coup and take over the company. Lillian urged Lena and Andrea ahead while she put Edge in his place. She was in a particularly petty mode and decided to lay out all of Edge’s skeletons in front of the Board. Needless to say, they voted him off the Board after 15 minutes.
However, since Lena had the plane, it meant that she would have to ride commercial. She did manage to get a first class ticket, however, the plane made a detour and landed in Las Vegas. They said it was due to weather conditions, but it was sunny outside. When everyone tried to argue, they were told to ask the desk attendant for more information and  about making other travel arrangements.
Lillian took a deep breathe and rubbed her temple.
“Keep it together Lillian. The wedding is in 7 days. We were only going to Ireland this early to make sure everything was set up for the wedding by the end of the week. Also, look on the bright side. You are no longer near that creepy gardener anymore.”
She shuddered when she thought of her former seat companion. He seemed harmless at first with all of his plant puns. However, he quickly went from “I beg your garden” to “You make my plants wet”. She was about to call the flight attendant for a possible new seat when the announcement came about the change in destination.
Lillian was so lost in thought that she didn’t realize that she was next in line.
“Umm ma’am, are you ok?”
“Oh, I am so sorry. It has just been a trying day.”
“No worries! How can I help you today?”
“I was wondering if you have any flights that leave out for Dublin, Ireland today.”
“Flights headed out east have all been cancelled.”
“What!”
“There is a severe snow storm in most of the states out west and in the midwest. There is zero visibility in those area.”
Lillian took a couple of big breathes before asking shakily, “When would flights be up and running again?”
“The next flight out to Dublin wouldn’t be until tomorrow night at 7 as long as the winter advisory is gone by then.”
Lillian clenches her fingers on the edge of the desk until her knuckle turns white. She forced a smile while staring at the attendant.
“I will take the 7pm out to Dublin tomorrow,” said Lillian through gritted teeth.
The attendant looked relieved.
Probably because others have gone off on her due to this inconvenience.
Lillian sighed. She knew that this wasn’t the lady’s fault. As much as she wanted to, not even she could control the weather. If anything this was Edge’s fault for making her miss her flight.
I need to make sure to do something extra special for Edge when I get back.
Lillian smirked to herself thinking of all the different ways to make Edge’s life hell once she returned.
The attendant gave her the ticket and said, “I have everything for your flight set up. Just a head’s up, you probably want to call now to make hotel arrangements. The hotels were already busy due to several major music acts being here this weekend.”
“Thanks you so much. I will do that right now.”
“Have a good day!”
Lillian quickly went to the sit down and started calling hotels. While she waited on hold, she checked to make sure she had her carry ons. Since, she received the call about Edge while they were transferring stuff to the private plane from her car, Lena had the majority of her stuff. The only thing she kept with her since she was in a hurry to get back to L-Corp was her carry on bag which had a two shirts and some jeans. She had planned to change out of her clothing before landing into something more comfortable. Due to the location that Lena chose for the wedding, a lot of the travel had to be on foot.

Shrink or Swim prologue
It was a somewhat regular Friday night. A group of young people were sitting at a pub’s table, a pint in front of each face. The atmosphere in the room was rowdy, with loud rock music playing off the speakers and people chatting laughing and shouting all around, alcohol fueling their good or bad times.
"So," asked Dave, a glasses-wearing twenty-something with a mustache. "How's your job search going, Luke?"
Luke, a young man with an afro, had been famously, but rather lazily, looking for a new job since having been fired from his former gig at a restaurant. “I actually found a job as a flight assistant with Brian Air,” the man said. “But there is a hang-up. To get the job, you have to know how to swim.”
One of the girls started laughing. “Still can’t swim at your old age?“ said Laura, a puffy blonde with fiery red cheeks.
“And what’s wrong with that?” asked Sonya, a tired-looking brunette sitting next to her, her pint almost emptied. “I never learned either, and it looks like I’m still alive.”
“But what if you’re in a ship, and it sinks? What then?” asked Laura.
“I’m not going to board the Titanic, okay?” Sonya cheekily said.
“Neither I can swim,” Dave interjected. “Never really learned as a kid. And that’s a shame, because I would’ve loved to teach my ol’ pal Luke.”
“Well, I would like to help, but I’m too busy with my job and my dog,” said Laura.
“I’m out too,” said Hugh, Sonya’s boyfriend. “Since I’m leaving for the Netherlands in a week.”
“Come on!” Dave said. “Isn’t anybody here who will teach our Luke how to swim?”
A girl on the other side of the table quietly raised a hand while smiling. It was Jenna, a cute brunette who had just recently started going out with them after becoming Sonya’s roommate.
“I can help,” the girl said. “I’m a good swimmer and I’d be glad to teach Luke if that helps him get the new job.”
A choir of cheers erupted from the table.
"Thanks, Jenna, appreciate it," Luke said as he raised his glass in the girl's direction. The brunette reciprocated and smiled at him.
“To Jenna, and to Luke getting a job!” Dave said as he raised his glass. “It was about fuckin’ time!”
*
Luke buzzed at the door to Jenna’s apartment. He wasn’t sure yet why she asked him to meet her at her place and not at the public pool. He figured that maybe she wanted him to drive her there after she had gotten ready.
The girl greeted him with a welcoming smile. “Come in,” she said. “The bathtub is almost full.”
“The bathtub?” said Luke, thinking of a joke.
“Yeah, the bathtub. Oh right, I didn’t tell you yet,” the girl chuckled. “I will be shrinking you. You will learn how to swim in my bathtub. And that’s why we don’t have to go to the public pool.”
“Shrinking?” Luke said, once again repeating Jenna’s words in confusion. “Whoa, slow down, missy. What is this shrinking business you are talking about?”
“It’s a new technology we are learning about in my physics class,” the girl explained. “As an assistant to the teacher, they entrusted me with a shrinking ray prototype. I thought of it when you said you were embarrassed to learn in front of strangers. It all clicked then,” the girl giggled. “You can learn privately, I can safely rescue you if something goes wrong and we also save the money from the pool fee.”
Luke nodded. “Makes sense,” he said. “Not a bad idea. But are you sure this thing is safe? I mean, you said you are still developing it.”
“It really is safe. We have made many tries already at school,” she said. “And it’s totally safe.”
"Well, okay. That sounds pretty cool, actually." Luke really didn't mind saving the pool fee and getting to learn alone with Jenna seemed much more appealing than being in public in front of countless judging eyes. Plus, he also would be participating in the development of a new, sick technology that sounded like it came out of a science fiction novel. That was a triple win in his eyes.
Quadruple, if he counted Jenna, the nice girl standing in front of him whose jean shorts-clad ass he admired as she escorted him to the bathroom, jiggling left and right for his viewing pleasure as she walked.
“I wonder if I’ll have a chance with her after this swimming business is over,” Luke thought. “She’s really cute... and she’s been willing to help, so maybe she might be into me. On the other hand, she might only be doing this out of niceness. Who can tell?”
“You can get changed in my bedroom,” said the brunette. “I’ll be waiting here.”
When Luke came back, he only was wearing a pair of swimming trunks, as well as goggles and a cap.
“Damn, he looks nice,” Jenna thought as she eyed his slender but muscular body, “almost a pity to have him shrink.”
“Do I really have to wear these?” he asked, pointing at the goggles. “They’re too tight.”
“Let me help,” the girl said as she leaned in to adjust them. As she did, Luke felt her breasts pressing against his back. He got excited and nervous from the contact; he had noticed Jenna had very nice, generous tits, but he always refrained from looking too much. Now though, they were pressed on his back and he couldn’t help but pop an erection.
Mortified, he assumed an unnatural standing position to help him hide his bulge, using his right hand to cover it up as best as he could.
“Better?” the girl asked.
“Y-yes,” the flustered man said.
“Don’t worry. All your equipment will shrink along with you.”
“Okay,” the young man said. Now that he had become aroused, it seemed that everything about her, from the perfume she used to her sweet, crystalline feminine voice, only fueled his raging erection. “Can we start with the shrinking?” he asked, hoping that his excitement would be less evident once he had become small.
“Of course!” the girl happily said as she picked up an unknown metallic object that Luke assumed was the one capable of shrinking people. “Are you ready?”
Luke nodded. “Go ahead. Wait, anything else I should know before we begin?” he asked in one last fit of prudence before finally being shrunk.
“Not really. Just trust me,” the girl said. “Ready?”
“Yeah!”
Luke got hit by an invisible beam of energy that enveloped his entire figure, as a tingle began to spread from his feet to the rest of his body. It was not an unpleasant sensation; he had the impression that he was getting lighter and inconspicuous.
He felt like closing his eyes as he was surrounded by the energy. He was a bit nervous, but somehow he trusted Jenna, without clearly knowing why.
When he opened his eyes again, he saw the world around him had changed. Or rather, it had turned into a wholly new world...
“Jenna? Jenna?” he asked, as he looked around in confusion. He felt like he was lost in a blue ocean of porcelain.
Jenna scanned the floor to search for Luke, a feeling of dread going through her mind. She squatted down to take a better look at the area around her feet.
“Oh no!” she said. “I must have made a mistake!”
Luke’s head spun as he finally recognized her in the distance. The pretty, petite girl he remembered was now as big as a mountain.
“Luke?” she called gently, her cute face mutating to a worried expression.
He waved at her, trying to catch her attention. Her green eyes were looking in his direction, but she wasn’t even able to spot him - that’s how insignificant he was to her right now.
On the opposite side of the size spectrum, there was Jenna - he could take a good look at her now colossal body - her nice thick legs, her generous tits dangling down as she leaned over. She was beautiful, Luke thought.
“Huh! Is that really you?” the girl said as she squinted her eyelids, her pupils now firmly pointed in his direction.
“Yes! Yes, that’s you!” she giddily said as she recognized his minuscule but unmistakably human form. The girl licked the tip of her finger and slowly but surely brought it down over Luke, who saw the huge tower-like body part hover above him and then glue him to its sticky, wet surface.
Jenna raised her finger, making sure Luke was stuck to it and wouldn’t fall down. “Damn, you’re small!” she exclaimed to the tiny speck in the middle of her fingertip.
She took on an apologetic expression. “I guess I should’ve mentioned that this was the first time I did this without the professor’s help, so I may have gone a tiny bit too far with the shrinking. Sorry!”

Day 17: Saturday July 9th – Monday July 11th, 2022 [FINAL DAYS]
Breakfast: Coffee and toast / pizza pocket / cinnamon scroll Lunch: Margarita pizza and mimosas / chicken baguette Dinner: Cheesy chicken with potatoes and veg / lamb with potatoes and spicy veg
Steps: 12, 480
Andrew had booked an apartment close to the airport so wasn’t at our apartment for the last night. Amara had an early flight, so she left at 6am while Tim and I were still asleep. We’d settled up our Splitwise spending the night before and it was lovely to get $300 AUD back from Amara and $143 AUD back from Andrew for joining our accom. What a delight! I’d done most of my packing the night before, so had a long shower, 2 slices of toast and then it was 10am and time to checkout.
With luggage to drag behind us, there wasn’t much we could do, so we just walked to the nearest cafe and had a coffee. I called Dad while Tim played on his phone and then Jane joined us. While Jane had a coffee, Tim went off to try the last thing on his to do list - fermented shark. He ended up going back to the Dick Museum as we had seen it on the menu at the museum cafe but not many other places. When he came back he was chewing gum and said that fermented shark tasted like shit. He was glad to have tried it though.
We had 3 Airbus tickets booked for 12pm so waited at the bus stop at 11:50am. Hoards of people followed us, but they were getting on a day tour. At 12:15pm, our bus still hadn’t arrived and we were contemplating getting a taxi. The shuttle arrived at 12:25pm and we thought that was our ride to the airport, but instead it was a 3 minute drive to the bus depot where we got on a charter bus. The drive was 45 minutes and Tim slept most of the way. I deleted some of the seconds from my travel video and looked out the window.
When we arrived, the luggage check in was an absolute circus. We followed the TV list and then got sent back to whence we came. We lined up for 45 minutes in self-check in after printing luggage tags then cruised through security in 3 minutes. Jane then went to the business class lounge (lucky) while Tim and I sat at a restaurant and shared a pizza and mimosas.
We walked 20 minutes to the terminal and were still in line to get a bus to the plane at 4:07pm when our flight was meant to depart at 4:10pm. We waited another 15 minutes, then got on the bus and waited another 5 minutes for it to leave. We were lucky to have exit row seats on the flight and the seat next to me was empty. Two wins! I felt so drowsy on take off that I had a wee nap. I then spent the rest of the flight watching The Circle on my iPad.
We arrived at Heathrow at 8:45pm and were first off the flight. We had to walk through all of terminal 2 to go up an escalator then down another escalator so that we could get a 15 minute transfer bus to terminal 4. Hooley Dooley. There was a woman on our flight who was rushing to get her connecting flight to Israel and she ran to the security check where we arrived 5 mins later. We cruised through security and got to our gate to find out that our flight had been delayed by half an hour. We had nothing to do but sit down and wait.
We boarded at 10:30pm and when we scanned our boarding passes the machine flashed red. Our luggage wasn’t registered as being on the flight. The woman checked our luggage receipt and updated our details in hopes that they would be popped on board before take off. Once on the plane, we had a spare seat next to us again and a 1hr waiting time on the tarmac. Amara messaged us to say that she’d made it to Spain, but that Heathrow had lost her luggage. Zac messaged and said that he was stuck in London until the next flight to Melbourne on the 11th. What an absolute circus. I had cheesy chicken with potatoes and veggies for dinner and watched Turning Red. After that, I tried my best to sleep while we had such a luxurious amount of space.
Our transfer at Abu Dhabi was relatively painless - we got off the plane and onto the final one within 30 minutes. I checked on our bags and we were told that they were on the plane, which was a relief - I hoped it was true! We were seated in the back half of the plane where there was less leg room and way more children. One of them cracked it before we’d even taxi’d out which felt like an omen for the 12 hour flight. I surprisingly slept about 6-7 hours on the flight. I watched Moana & Encanto while eating. The meals were average, but the cinnamon scroll we got for breakfast before landing was delish.
We cruised through customs and duty free and had to wait about 30 mins for our luggage. It didn’t come out. The rest of our flight slowly cleared and we were left without our stuff. We went over to the service desk, reported our luggage missing (luckily we had taken photos of them) and were then told to wait 24 hours then call to follow up.
Then it was Uber to Tim’s, drove myself home and waited for Morgi to get home from Perth.
What a trip! Until next time X

you've always have been the youngest in your class. you've always been the youngest in your family. and the fact that you are an only child does not give an advantage for you.
born and raised in boston. you were neighbors with jackson avery, who put pinecones in your hair when you were little kids.
you were a helpless little baby in jackson's eyes back then. you were always his target with his pranking, as you were a tad younger than him.
it was all fun and games for him not until you've learned the beauty of taking revenge. which then change of being a team of entertaining yourselves whenever his mom or your family goes to a gala. and you've always been by his side.
"hey y/n wouldn't it be fun if we unplugged those speakers?" he asked you whilst looking for the main plug. "it could be. or not." you replied munching on the chocolate pretzels you got from the buffet table.
"oh come on. you're such a sissy." he snickered.
you knew better. growing up beside him from the beginning, it was his one of many ways of getting you on board.
"you're grandpa would flip." you said chuckling as you pointed that his grandfather looked over the two of you as if knowing that the both of you were up to no good.
days, months and years passed. you skipped a few grades and you were about to start highschool with jackson. thank the heavens that you'd have jackson with you in highschool.
but with your mother telling you that she's sending you to her home country for you to continue studying, your plans with jackson was in shambles.
jackson even tried to convince his mom for him to come along with you. but no to avail, his mother's words were. "no. you're an avery. you have duties here."
so with you going away, jackson tried to hide in the trunk of your car when it was the day of your flight.
"you promise to write." he reached out his pinky and made you promise. "aunt catherine already has my address." you smiled at him.
your mother sending you to her home country actually had a great advantage for you. because within those years, you've managed to finish medicine within six years.
yes. six. you didn't even think those programs exist.
so, now, after 10 years of being away. you're finally back.
your mother sent you to seattle to meet you there about an opening for a pediatric surgeon.
"mom? what are you doing here?" jackson said as he approached her with an embrace.
"jackson. you remember your aunt rose." catherine said and he greeted your mother with a smile.
"look at you! no wonder y/n can't stop talking about you." your mother said as jackson leaned into her embrace. "yeah... uh, how's y/n?" he asked trying to make small talk.
"oh she's fine. she's coming here actually." your mother replied.
"she's back?" jackson was taken aback about you being back after years of being away. "can you wait for her by the lobby and show her around, dear?" his mother asked.
"her mother and i have something important to discuss." she added while giving jackson a knowing look.
you were heading to grey-sloan memorial where your mother told you to meet her.
mom: sweetheart ask the nurses to page jackson when you arrive
you almost tripped on your foot when you read your mother's text.
you: jackson? jackson avery? why?
mom: he works there. your aunt catherine said he'll show you around ;)
you: when did you learn to use those?
you've finally arrived. you trudged yourself up to the main lobby and asked the nurse to page jackson.
you waited a few minutes and heard someone spoke. "someone paged me?"
you turned around and revealed jackson. "you got tall." you suddenly spoke.
"y/n!" he did not know what gotten him but he embraced you tightly.
"you... you're still short." he retorted sporting that sneaky grin he had since you were little kids.
"still mean, i see." you laughed as he lead you away from the busy lobby. "so... how are you?" he started.
"oh... that, im fine. you?"
"kind of. and not to brag, i kind of run this place." he said whispering to you. "really? you're serious?" stopping and looking at him checking if his really serious.
he just smiled. "no! you are serious!" you laughed at his antics trying to prove he is serious. "never thought that jackson, who stuck pinecones on my head will run a hospital." you spoke as the both of you walk in the corridors.
"what about you? mother mentioned you've mentioned you finished medicine in six years."
"i-i did." you spoke quietly.
"that's crazy." he said while the both of you were waiting for the elevator.
"that's why you've been busy huh." he said as the both of you were inside the elevator. "yeah... kind of."
"is this about we promised to write letters?" you spoke up.
jackson looked at you surprised that somehow you knew what he was thinking about. "well, i did write you letters." you spoke up.
getting off the elevator he led you to a conference room where both of your mothers were.
"can we talk more later, maybe? come over for dinner?" he asked you shyly.
"that would be great." you said with a smile before you went inside.
as what the both of you planned. you went over to jackson's place to catch up more.
he let you set your things by the living room, which was set up like how you hang out when you were younger.
"you've got a nice place." you said looking around.
"hey. uh--i got something for you." you said reaching over the small bag you brought. "you never stopped sending letters. and i did." you started.
giving him the bag you held, he looked inside. "i-i replied to every letter you sent. i just uh, i didn't send one back."
he looked at you with those same eyes you fell for years ago.
"god y/n i was about to get mad at you." he said jokingly as he captured you into another one of his warm embrace.
"i know. mom always bothered me to send you back letters." you chuckled in his chest.
"did you know how much i missed you? and god knows how much i love you." he said squeezing you tighter.
"yo-you love me?" you asked getting out of his embrace trying your best to hide your smile. "ye-yeah i do." he said as a hint of blush started to form in his cheeks.
"well, i always have been in love with you" you replied.
"are you staying for good?" he asked you. you smiled at him.
"yeah. only if you hire me." you spoke. "then you're hired dr. y/l/n." jackson spoke as he placed his lips on yours.

Took you like a shot Thought that I could chase you with a cold evening Let a couple years water down how I'm feeling about you And every time we talk Every single word builds up to this moment And I gotta convince myself I don't want it even though I do
“I have BIG news!” Aera squealed as soon as you opened the door for her. She hugged you tightly and started jumping, you jumped with her even though you had no idea why.
“Why are we jumping around?”
“Greece! I’m getting married in Greece!” she yelled happily, “You know that it’s my dream to get married in Greece and my amazing soon-to-be-husband surprised me with it! Oh god, I  can’t believe I’m marrying Jaehyun in fucking GREECE!”
“Holy shit that’s great! But can we stop jumping I might puke.”
You sat down on your couch with Aera, “We need to start planning, the wedding is in 3 weeks. I’ve sent the invitations right before I came here. We booked a hotel with the best view ever and my wonderful maid of honor aka you are flying with me and Jaehyun a two days earlier, you know, to get stuff done and the others come one day before the wedding, your man too, by the way. I can’t wait for my bachelorette party- but remember, I promised Jaehyun no strippers.” Her eyes sparkled as she talked about her wedding and you started thinking about your own future.
Were you ever going to get married? You want to get married, you really do. But what if you never get the chance to? Your boyfriend hated to talk about commitment and marriage, he said living together and dating was enough, but you never felt the same way. You wanted to get married, you want a ring on your finger, and you wanted to call him your husband, not your boyfriend.
Aera left after a while and you were alone, until you heard the door open with a sigh. “I’m home.”
His voice, no, his existence alone triggered you and without knowing you plugged in your earphones. “I said I’m home Y/n. There she fucking goes again, god I’m not going to deal with you tonight.” And without saying anything after that, he left again. Minho, your boyfriend of two and half years, always left you alone. He never bothered to talk to you about the problems in your relationship and after trying and trying, you were sick of it.
Dating him was almost torture but breaking up with him was also difficult. You were so scared of being alone, of not being loved.
Almost three weeks later, you found yourself at the airport with Jaehyun and Aera. Jaehyun looked at his watch every two minutes and he looked really nervous too. “Where the fuck is he?” he mumbled and Aera kicked his leg. “Ouch?” he hissed in pain. “Sorry baby didn’t mean to kick you that hard.”
“What is going on here? Who are we waiting for?” you asked confused. “You didn’t tell her?” Jaehyun asked his fiancée. Aera shook her head.
“W-Well about that- uhm, there’s one thing I have to tell you, but don’t get too mad,” Aera looked at you nervously, “you, uhm… you remember Mark Lee, right? Please forgive me for not telling you, but- fuck, he’s Jaehyun’s best man. He’s coming with us.” Aera closed her eyes, scared of your reaction.
“You are joking right?” your heart pounded against your chest.
“N-No, I really didn’t know that you didn’t know- a-and you know, Mark’s my oldest friend and yeah, and uhm, fuck he’s coming act natural.” Jaehyun looked at his phone and laughed, even though his screen was dark and Aera laughed with him.
“How the fuck am I supposed to act natural?!” you almost yelled bus as soon as you heard Mark’s little hi, your heart stopped beating.
It’s been almost three years since you heard his voice. Every memory played in your mind like a sad movie, the second he asked you to be his girlfriend to the end of your relationship with him, the moment he broke your heart almost made you cry again, but Aera stepped on your foot and you came back to reality.
“Hi.” You said coldly, his last word replaying in your head over and over again.
Aera and Jaehyun watched you and Mark awkwardly and Mark couldn’t find any words to say, except for, “H-hi.”
“Sooo, now that everyone’s here,” Jaehyun handed you your tickets. “Thanks.” Mark mumbled.
You were about to go on board, you didn’t say a word since Mark came and he was busy talking to Aera and Jaehyun. “Y/n, we’ll see you guys when we land alright?”
“What do you mean?” you asked confused, “We sit together? Right?”
“W-Well about that- we are flying first class, we wanted to spoil ourselves a little- please don’t get angry I’m sorry I am so sorry.” Aera whispered and you felt like you could explode any second like a volcano.
“Y-You mean… you’re telling me I have to sit with him for the next couple hours?! All alone?!” you tried to whisper but it was loud enough for Jaehyun and Mark to hear.
“shh! Just, I don’t know, sleep, or watch a movie or maybe just talk to him like a grown up, please do it for me?” she pouted.
“I’m gonna be wasted when we arrive in Greece.” You couldn’t be angry at her. “As long as you don’t kill him.”
Jaehyun and Aera entered the plane first and left you and Mark alone. “So, how have you been?”
The audacity.
“Good.” You mumbled. How long until you could enter that fucking plane?
“Me too, well, I’d say ok-“
“Look, Mark. I’m doing this for our friends, okay? I’m not interested in your life. I don’t want to talk to you unless it’s about the wedding. Did I make myself clear?” maybe you were mean and bitchy, but after everything he had done to you, you didn’t care.
He just nodded and looked down to his feet.
Half an hour later, you were seated on the plane right next to Mark. It’s not your first time flying, but it was Mark’s first time, and he was fucking scared.
“This is captain Lee Taeyong speaking, I’m your pilot for our flight to Mykonos, Greece. My co-pilot for today is Kim Doyoung. Please enjoy your flight.”
After the announcement and the instructions, you were ready to go.
The plane started moving and you could feel Mark tensing up next to you. His grip on the hand rest tightened and his knuckles turned white.
You tried so hard to ignore him, but you couldn’t. You should laugh at him, take pictures of his suffering- but you held his hand and assured it him that it’ll be over.
Mark looked at you and then back at your hands. Your thumb slowly stroked his hand and he stopped thinking about the plane and he could only think about your hand holding his.
You held his hand until you saw the flight attendant walk around.
Mark thanked you but you ignored him.
“Hello, would you like to have some water or coffee?” the flight attendant asked you and Mark.
“Just a water please.” Mark said.
“Do you have something stronger? Wine? Or champagne?”
“Sure ma’am.”
“Alright I’d like to have some champagne.” You smiled and she nodded.
Mark looked at you, eyes a little wide.
Four glasses later, you were a little tipsy.
“I think you had enough-“ Mark tried to stop you from ordering another glass.
“You don’t know anything about me!” you protested.
“Y/n, get some sleep come on-“
“Mind your own business.” You plugged in your Airpods and ignored him. You didn’t want him to interact with you and If you have to stop drinking for him to shut up, you sadly had to.
You closed your eyes and leaned back. You didn’t notice Mark’s eyes on you, watching your pretty features as your chest raised with every breath you took.
Shortly after, you fell asleep.
You could break my heart in two But when it heals, it beats for you I know it's forward but it's true
Three years ago
“It was a game. I won and now it’s over.” Mark said coldly as he looked away.
“What do you mean a game? And what is over? Mark, babe, I don’t understand.” Maybe you knew, maybe you tried to hide the fact that you saw it coming. Your relationship was too good to be true.
“I told my friends that I could fuck you within a year, and I did. We’ve been dating for ten months. I won. I can’t believe I waited ten months to fuck you.” He said casually.
“What?”
“Are you deaf? I fucked you and I got a lot of cash in exchange. Now we’re over. As simple as that.”
“You’re joking? Right? You love me, Mark. We love each other. It’s not funny.” Your voice broke.
“I’m not fucking joking,” he showed you the money he got, “Now, please get the fuck out of my apartment. Oh, and take your toothbrush with you.”
You were crying and that annoyed him. “Why are you fucking crying?!”
“M-Mark please don’t do this- I love you. I have never loved anyone like I love you. P-Please tell me you’re lying.” You sobbed.
“You know what, I’m leaving. Leave before I come back.”
Mark didn’t want to leave, but watching you cry and sob hurt him, he would never admit that to you but deep down, he felt something for you. Mark thought ending things with you was better than walking on eggshells. It was a matter of time until you would find out. He didn’t want to risk you finding out from someone else. The least he could do was tell you, face to face.
You loved him, you really loved him so much. He was a perfect boyfriend. There was not a single day you doubt him or your relationship. It hurt, you first ever heartbreak and you didn’t know how to handle the pain.
I wanna hold you when I'm not supposed to When I'm lying close to someone else You're stuck in my head and I can't get you out of it If I could do it all again I know I'd go back to you I know I'd go back to you I know I'd go back to you
After your breakup with Mark, you felt your life slowly falling apart. You were barely present in class and you stopped interacting with your friends. You drowned in self-pity and you fell deeper and deeper. Only Aera was there for you. After so many years of friendship, she always got your back.
“Is the pain ever going to stop?” you asked her between sobs.
“Honey, it’ll take a while, but I promise you, it’ll stop.”
Aera and Jaehyun were dating since first year of college and he told you that he had no idea about his oldest friend’s plan. Jaehyun was happy to see his friend happy- because was happy whenever he was with you. You went on double dates and spent so much time together, Jaehyun really thought that you and Mark were going to end up together.
“I swear I didn’t know. His other friends- that Haechan guy and the others were with him. He never told me because he know that we’re friends.”
“It’s okay, Jae. You’re not as childish as they’re. Don’t worry about it. I’m fine.”
And Jaehyun and Aera never left your side until college was over. During your time thinking about life and finishing college, you met Minho, your current boyfriend. You started dating and you thought he’d help you get over Mark, but he only made you feel worse.
He was a fuckboy, he fucked anyone with tits, and even though you knew it, you still agreed to date him.
Multiple fights and breakups followed, and you always end up at Aera’s or Minho would leave for a couple days.
Whenever you were lonely, and it was the case most of time, you thought about Mark. You missed him, his lips, his touches, the way he laughed and his silly jokes. You missed the way he said I love you and how warm and loved you felt with him.
No matter how hard Mark hurt you, you didn’t regret falling in love with him. You’d do it again and again.
We never got it right Playing and replaying old conversations Overthinking every word and I hate it 'Cause it's not me And what's the point in hiding Everybody knows we got unfinished business And I'll regret it if I didn't say this isn't what it could be
Two days until the wedding
Mark shook you softly and tried to wake you up. “Hey, Y/n. We’re here. Wake up.”
“Just a little longer Markie.” You mumbled in your sleep as you held his hand. When you landed, Mark got scared again and just held your hand without asking you. You were asleep after all.
Mark’s heart was about to explode. He blushed at the nickname. You used to call him Markie every time you were sleepy or acting like a baby to get his attention.
And every fucking time he fell for it and his heart softened. “Okay baby.” This time Mark stroked your hand with his thumb.
About three minutes later, the flight attendant came to wake her. “Sir, ma’am. You need to leave the plane. We landed almost ten minutes ago.”
You slowly woke up and stretched your arms. “What? Oh, sorry.” You stood up, a little too fast. Everything was spinning, Mark held your waist and you fell on his lap.
“Are you sure we landed? Everything’s spinning around.” You held your head, not noticing that you were on Mark’s lap. “Y/n, uhm, could you stand up? But do it slowly this time!” he still held your waist. “What? Oh, shit, sorry.” You stood up, a little slower this time.
“Y/n! Mark! What took you so long? What the hell?” Aera looked strictly but as she saw Mark’s arm around your waist she softened. “S-she’s a little tipsy.” Mark said, cheeks red.
“Of course, she is.”
“Am not! Oh my god, the weather is so good!” your eyes were slightly open but as soon as you saw the sea and the beautiful architecture your smiled brightly. You pushed Mark’s arm off and started unbuttoning your shirt.
Mark’s eyes widened, and Jaehyun turned around, he didn’t want to watch you take off your clothes. Aera’s mouth fell open and Mark kept on watching you. Your tank top under your shirt rose a little and Mark’s eyes travelled to your soft skin. You put your shirt in your handbag and took out your sunglasses.
Mark’s eyes never left your body, his eyes going up to your breasts. He needs to get away from you or he’ll lose his mind.
“You can turn back baby, she’s wearing something underneath.”
“J-Jaehyun maybe we should… you know.” Mark locked eyes with Jaehyun.
“What you mean Mark?” Jaehyun asked cluelessly.
“A car, you know, for the hotel.”
“Oh yeah right. Ladies, don’t move away, we’ll go rent a car.” Jaehyun kissed Aera and then they left.
“I’m going to kill him.” You breathed out after Mark left. “You won’t.” Aera posed next to you as you took selfies together. “I will. I hate him. He acts like nothing happened, like, like he never broke my heart. As if we’re old friends or shit like that.”
“He acts totally shy around you. I think you intimidate him. Did you see how he watched you when you took off your shirt? That idiot was and is so into you.” Aera always thought that Mark loved you, no matter what he did. You don’t date someone for months just for 50 bucks. “He’s a man. As soon as they see tits, they’re on their knees.” You laughed.
“Well, maybe you should let him kneel for you a little longer. I guess he’s into that.” She giggled.
“I can’t believe that you just said that.” You closed your eyes. “Well, Jaehyun’s into that.”
“Jaehyun’s into what?” Jaehyun asked as he heard his name. “Into me of course.”
“That’s why I’m marrying you.” He pulled her in for a kiss- a very steamy and hot kiss. “Hello? Keep it PG-13 please.” You looked at them with disgust in your eyes. Mark awkwardly coughed next to you. “The car is ready.”
You were in the backseat with Mark, he was a little close for your liking. “Your leg is touching mine.” You said. “And?” he asked.
“I don’t like it.”
“Sounds like a you problem.” He said back. “Excuse me?” you said in disbelief.
Jaehyun and Aera locked eyes for a second.
Aera turned the radio louder and it was your song.
“Y/n! Isn’t that your favorite song?!” she yelled through the music. Mark glanced at you. He remembered the song. You had your first kiss with Mark, and that song was playing in the background. You were in his car, just like right now, in the backseat.
“No. It’s not.” You said as you looked out.
“What? But it’s in your Spotify playlist. What was it called? Fav songs? Best songs? His songs? My songs?” she kept on asking and you couldn’t take it anymore. “’Our songs’ but I deleted that because that playlist was stupid. Now, please. Change that songs.”
Mark smiled to himself. You still had the playlist called our songs? Mark and you created that playlist when you were dating and you always listened to it, over thousand times and it never got boring.
“Fine.” She sighed. “No! Don’t change that song. I-it is my favorite song.” Mark said and you looked at him with furrowed brows.
“Okay.”
“Change it.” You demanded.
“Don’t.” Mark was looking at you too. “Aera, change the song.” You said through gritted teeth.
“Aera I’ll jump out of the car If you change it.” Mark threatened.
“He won, Y/n, sorry. He threatened with his life.”
You didn’t say anything because the song changed. You looked back to your phone, ignoring Mark.
“We’re here.” Jaehyun parked the car and you mouth fell open. The hotel looked stunning. “Holy shit. This place is fucking gorgeous.” Aera said happily. “Only the best for my fiancée.” Jaehyun was fucking cheesy but Aera loved it.
The hotel was not exactly like a hotel. It was more like little white house’s next to each other with a pool and a perfect view. The house was bigger than you thought, many guest rooms, a big room for the couple and a very big room for you and Mark, at the end of the hallway, far away from Jaehyun and Aera’s room.
“If you excuse us for a while, we have things to discuss in our room,” Jaehyun said as he winked at Aera. “But we’ll get dinner together. Don’t go too far, stay in your rooms or go swimming we don’t really care just leave us alone for an hour-“ Aera kicked his leg again. “or three.”
After unpacking your stuff, you decided to go to the pool. You changed to your black two-piece swimsuit and left your room and at the same time Mark opened his door and left his room. He was in his swim trunks and he stopped his movements as soon as he saw you leaving your room.
Mark tried to hide his gaze on your body, but he was quite obvious. “Stop staring.”
“I-I’m not staring.” He looked away.
“Sure.” You made your way outside, to the pool. It was extremely hot, you put your towel on the beach chair next to the pool and sat down, ready to put on some sunscreen. Mark entered the porch and looked at you. You put sunscreen on your legs and didn’t break the eye contact.
You wanted to tease him, provoke him so you put on a show. You slowly pulled the straps of your swimsuit down and slowly put the sunscreen on your neck and shoulders until you reached the upper part of your breasts. You didn’t need to look at Mark, you felt his eyes on your as he put his stuff down next to you.
“Mark?”
“Y-Yes?” he stuttered, his focus on your breasts.
“Could you help me? I can’t reach my back.” You said innocently.
Mark gulped, “Y-yeah I can, uhm, I can do that for you.”
Mark wasn’t the only one watching. You watched him too. You watched him take off his shirt and you couldn’t look away. He looked hot, hotter than before. Did he start working out? He caught you watching him and smirked at you. You threw the sunscreen to him and turned around. You untied the bikini bra but held it against your breasts.
He squeezed a little on his hand and slowly put it on your lower back, slowly massaging it into your skin. You didn’t know If his hands were cold or If the sunscreen was cold, but after he touched you, your entire body shivered. You got goosebumps, you even felt your nipples harden.
“Yes Mark, just like that.” You teased him again.
“Feels good?”
“Mhm…” you moaned.
His face was close to yours, you could feel his breathe against your neck. His hands slowly travelled down, slightly about your ass. “Hands up, Mark.” You pushed his hands up again, you wouldn’t let him touch your ass.
You leaned back, your head was resting on Mark’s shoulder. You were sitting between his legs and you grabbed his thigh after he put a little bit pressure on your back. You weren’t going to lie- it really felt good. Your muscles relaxed, you closed your eyes and just let him touch you.
“You want me to go harder?” he whispered in your ear. “Yes, please go harder on me.” And he did. You squeezed his thigh, your hand travelled higher and higher, “Fuck.” He mumbled under his breath and when you stopped, you moved forwards. “That’s enough.”
You tied your bikini bra back up and turned to him. He quickly tried to hide his bulge with a towel. “Are you perhaps turned-on Mark?” you mocked him.
“Your nipples are hard. I guess you are turned-on.”
He was right. You were turned on and your nipples were hard. “No, I’m not. Why would that turn me on? My nipples are hard b-because it’s cold. And stop looking you pervert!” you crossed your arms in front of you and made your way to the pool.
“Cold my ass.” He mumbled.
You slowly entered the pool, step by step. The temperature was good, you hoped your nipples would calm down. You watched Mark enter the pool, he was on the other side looking at you.
“This is my side and that is yours. Stay on your side and don’t bother me.” You told him strictly. Mark nodded and watched you. You just stared at each other and then Mark dove into the water. He swam towards you and when he got out, he was right in front of you, face, and hair wet. Chest rising and falling, eyes on you. Mark was really close, like, really close. You could feel the bulge against your thigh.
“What are you doing?” you asked.
“Swimming.” He caged you in his arms and pushed your body softly against the wall. He looked at you and the beautiful view of Greece and the ocean he had.
“Swim on your side of the pool.” He was annoying you so much.
“I have a better view from here.” Mark said as he looked you in the eyes. “Fine, you can stay here-“
“Don’t go.” He whispered. “Why? I’m blocking your view.”
“You are the view.”
You didn’t say anything back- you couldn’t. Your heart was beating against your chest, breathing got difficult and you couldn’t calm down. He was so close, you were about to lose your mind.
Mark wasn’t doing any better. You looked ethereal. You looked as beautiful as the first time he had met you. You were even prettier and the way you were so cold to him was kind of hot. Mark thought that his feelings for you died but seeing you after such a long time only made him realize, that his feelings for you got even stronger.
He always asked Jaehyun about you, but Jaehyun punched him and told him to fuck off because he had hurt his girlfriends’ best friend and his own friend, too. In Jaehyun’s eyes, Mark was a great friend, and he would trust him with his life, but after what he had done to you, Mark lost the right to know about your life. Still, Mark tried to find out If you were feeling any better after the breakup. If you were happy without him in your life, but he always failed and reaching out to you would be the worst thing he could do to you.
Mark’s hands were on your waist. He pushed his body against yours and he knew how nervous you were, but two can play this game.
Your hand was on his toned stomach, caressing it softly and then going down. You never broke eye contact and when your hand landed on his crotch, softly squeezing his bulge, he let out a moan. You were bold, you kept on playing with his bulge and Mark’s lips were attacking your neck. He placed soft kisses and started sucking.
“Fuck, Y/n. It feels so good. Please don’t stop.” He moaned as he squeezed your waist slightly. Before you could realize what exactly was happening, your phone rang.
“Ignore it.” Mark mumbled, his lips leaving your skin for a second.
“Mark- no.”
“Please… I’m so close.” He kissed your neck up to your jaw. You wanted to keep doing whatever the fuck you were doing with fucking Mark Lee, but your phone never stopped ringing. “You’re close?”
“Yes baby, so close.”
And you stopped your hand movements immediately. “W-What no please-“ he begged but you pushed him away. “You’re a big boy, right? You don’t need me.” You stepped out of the pool and wrapped the towel around yourself. Mark was painfully hard, and he was about to cum.
You took your phone and looked at the messages you just got. Minho texted you and you realized that you just gave Mark a handjob, even though he didn’t cum, and you totally forgot about Minho’s existence. Not that Minho always had you on his mind.
“You have got to be kidding me.” You said.
Mark looked at you curiously.
You called Minho immediately, not caring If you lost so much money since you called someone abroad.
“What the fuck does that mean?!” you asked angrily.
“I’m busy- I can’t attend the wedding.”
“Busy my ass, fuck you. This is my best friend’s wedding, the least you could do is to come to the wedding and stay next to your fucking girlfriend.” You were so angry, you didn’t care about anything.
Mark didn’t want to listen to your private conversation- and he had to jerk off- but after hearing the word girlfriend, he stopped in his tracks and listened.
“I have so much work and it’s just a wedding- I’ll make it up to you.” Minho said but you were distracted by the voices and music. “A-Are you at the club? You promised you’d never do that again?!”
“I’m with some colleagues-“ he lied.
“It’s fine. I don’t have time for this right now.” You hung up without listening to him any further. You were exhausted, so fucking exhausted. You turned to your left and saw Mark watching you. “Who was that?” he asked.
“None of your business.” You were cold to him again. Mark was about to say something, but you left without giving him the chance.
The only thing on your mind right now was Mark’s lips on your body. You took a hot shower and changed into a pretty sundress, perfect for the hot weather.
Mark was under the shower, after he jerked off, you still didn’t leave his mind. All he could think about was you and the person to whom you were talking.
After an hour, Aera told you to get ready- you were all going out for dinner. You all got ready and left the house. You were in the backseat with Mark again, not exchanging a word with the three, you were in your own world.
When you felt Mark’s hand on your thigh you turned your head to him. “Huh?”
“Burgers? What do you say?” he asked softly and pulled his hand back. “Sure.” You just wanted to drink, you didn’t care about food.
Jaehyun parked next to a restaurant and when you entered, you were all shocked. It was a beautiful restaurant with a terrace and a pretty view. Aera was next to you, Jaehyun across from her and Mark right across from you.
It felt like back then when you were going on actual double dates. “I think I have a déjà vu?” Jaehyun laughed awkwardly. “Ouch!” Mark yelped. “Sorry Mark, I wanted to kick Jaehyun.” Aera said. “Why would you want to kick me?” he asked his girlfriend. “Babe, shut up.” It was so awkward.
Mark looked at you, he knew exactly what Jaehyun was talking about. “Do you guys remember when the waiter pushed Jaehyun’s head into the cake?” Mark laughed at the memory the four of your shared. You didn’t say anything, but the others laughed. “Oh my god that was hilarious. He tasted so delicious.” Aera winked at him. “Okay, well, uhm, I wasn’t talking about that.” Mark scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
“My baby likes it when her fiancée tastes like strawberries.” Jaehyun smirked at Aera.
“This is absolutely not something we want to hear, Jesus.” Mark said disgusted.
After finishing dinner, you walked on the beach together. “Hey, babe, what’s on your mind?” Aera pulled you back to talk to you. She knew something was up.
“I just- Minho isn’t coming and I’m not sad about it. Why am I not sad about it?” you asked her. “Thanks god- I mean, I think your brain started working finally. Do you even see a future with him?” she asked you. “No, I don’t b-but I’ll never have future with anyone- I guess I’m just not worth-“
“If you dare to finish that sentence, I’ll push you into the water.” Aera threatened you. “Listen, I know when you are happy, and there was not a single time you were happy in that relationship, not like you were with that dumbass-“ she pointed at Mark, “The last time I saw you truly happy was with him, and I’m not saying go get Mark, I’m saying that Minho isn’t worth it. You are too good for him and there’s someone who loves you so much and who deserved your love and attention. Not that looser.”
And your eyes never left Mark’s back.
Something inside you switched, you don’t need a man next to you to be happy, well definitely not a man like Minho- he wasn’t even a man. After all the tears and fights you finally opened your eyes, and you knew that you deserve better.
“Fuck this shit I’m breaking up with that piece of shit.” And you really did. Aera held your hand as you dialed his number and called him.
“Y/n? It’s fucking 4 am.” Minho said. “Babe-“ you heard in the background, but you didn’t fucking care.
“You know what, I don’t even fucking care. Do whatever you want- thanks god you aren’t coming. I don’t have to make memories with an asshole like you. Go back to your slut. I’ll get my stuff when I’m back. I’m done with you” And you hung up.
You felt better than ever before.
You didn’t feel like crying- you were happy, you wanted to make great memories with your best friend and after so many years, you finally broke up with Minho. You felt free and when you looked to your left, to the stunning view you had, you just smiled.
“I’m so proud of you. You know, there are a couple single friends of Jaehyun coming to the wedding, maybe you’ll get some dick.” She wiggled her eyebrows. “Jaehyun’s friends? Are we really sure about that?” you joked, looking at Mark again.
“You are right.”
Meanwhile, Mark and Jaehyun were talking about you.
“Dude, she was talking about someone not attending the wedding and like, she said girlfriend or something, I don’t know- is she… is Y/n dating someone?” Mark asked, he was scared of the answer. He had hope to get you back, but when you were someone else’s, he couldn’t do anything.
“Yeah, Minho. Such a piece of shit, like, he’s worse than you-“
“Hey!”
“Sorry, but like, what you did was an asshole move but he’s like constantly an asshole, I think that’s worse than being a dick just once. He cheats and yells and is so fucking disrespectful, if it weren’t for Y/n I’d kill him and I can’t believe that he’s coming to my wedding, god.”
Mark was shocked, you’re really dating someone like him?
“Why isn’t she leaving him?” he asked Jaehyun. “I don’t really know, they started dating right after you left, maybe she tried to move on with him.”
Mark knew he had hurt you really bad, but you tried to move on that soon? Why did you touch him like that when you have a boyfriend? Why did you let him kiss your neck and be so close?
“Let’s go to the club!” you yelled happily, and Mark turned to you. “Club?” he asked.
“Yes, the fucking club, I want to get wasted!” you sang happily.
And the next stop was a club. After a couple shots (Jaehyun didn’t drink anything except for water, he’s the driver), you and Aera danced on the dancefloor happily together. You felt so alive and excited, you jumped around and Mark couldn’t keep his eyes away from you.
The way your dress slightly rose and exposed your beautiful legs. He hoped nobody else was looking at you like he did.
“You’re staring.” Jaehyun said.
“Am not.”
“You’re so fucking obvious, it physically hurts me to see you like this.” Jaehyun patted Mark’s back.
“Do you think she still hates me?” Mark asked. “Well, I would.”
“That’s not helpful.” Mark gulped down another shot. “Alright, I’m sorry. She’s like, pissed, but I don’t think she hates you.”
“Baby! Dance with me!” Aera pulled Jaehyun to the dance floor and he didn’t resist. He had to show everyone that Aera was his girl, his fiancée. Dancing slowly turned into a make out session and not even five minutes later, they left the dancefloor and entered the restroom.
After dancing for so long, you returned back to your table. “What are you doing here all alone?” you asked Mark.
“Drinking.” He drank shot after shot. “Share with me.” You sat down next to him, really close. Your thighs touching and his gaze on your legs made you smirk.
“Let’s play a game. We’ll ask questions and If we don’t want to answer, we take a shot. Okay?”
You nodded, that could get really interesting. You ordered a whole vodka bottle and started the game.
“Ladies first.”
“What a gentleman. Well, okay, I got a question. Did you get to cum today?” you asked boldly. “I did.” He smirked at you.
“Okay, uhm, were you turned on?”
You took a shot, yes you were so turned on, but you wouldn’t say that out loud.
Mark looked you in the eyes, “Do I look hot?”
“So fucking hot.” Mark said without thinking.
“Do you want me to touch you?” he asked now, you took a shot, which was a pretty obvious answer to him. He put his hand on your thigh. He squeezed slightly. “I never said yes.” You said. “You also never said no. Do you want me to stop touching you?”
“It’s not your turn.” Which meant that you didn’t want him to stop touching you.
After a couple shots, Mark finally asked you the question he was dying to ask.
“Did you miss me?” his face was serious, and he looked you the deep in the eyes. Whenever Mark asked you a question to which you couldn’t say no, you took a shot, just like you did at this question. Mark knew that you had missed him.
“I missed you. So much.” He came closer, nose brushing yours. Mark pressed his lips on the corner of your lips. He slightly pulled back and you looked at you, you weren’t stopping him, so he continued.
The next kiss landed on the tip of your nose and then on the other corner of your lips. Mark squeezed your thigh with a little bit more pressure as he finally placed his lips on yours. Mark kissed you slowly and without realizing it, you kissed him back. You shut your eyes and let him kiss you. He kissed you with so much passion, so much longing and you cupped his cheeks to pull him closer.
His right hand held you by your waist and squeezed it, you gasped, and he put his hot muscle in your mouth. His tongue was playing with yours, he sucked on your lower lip and you could feel yourself getting wetter with every touch and every kiss. You forgot that you were in public, everyone could watch your heavy make-out session with Mark.
“M-Mark-“ you moaned.
“Mhmm…” he didn’t want to stop-
“Mark- there are people around -fuck- us-“ when he started kissing your neck, you lost it.
“Don’t care.” And he kept kissing your skin. “I can’t get enough of you.” He smirked as he left a mark on your skin.
You opened your eyes and saw Jaehyun and Aera coming. You pushed Mark away and acted like you didn’t just have the best kiss of your life.
“We’re done,” Aera giggled, “We should go back, it’s late and we should get sober until tomorrow night. I want to remember my bachelorette party.”
You just nodded, grabbed your purse, and left the club with the others coming after you.
The car ride was awkward. Mark wanted to hold your hand, but you tried to leave as much space as possible between you. Your head was spinning, you wanted him but the voice in your head told you to back off.
Mark was silent the whole ride back and after you left, he could finally breath again.
“The others are coming tomorrow, I trust my best man to take care of them.” Jaehyun and Mark talked on the way back to the house and you tried to ignore the fact that Mark was really walking right next to you.
“Of course, dude. You’re bachelor party is going to be crazy, by the way.” Mark planed something big for Jaehyun.
“No strippers.” Jaehyun warned.
“No strippers for you.” Mark teased even though he was suddenly not interested in seeing women, except for you. You were on his mind and you just didn’t want to leave.
That kind of hurt you.
You accidently locked eyes with Mark, and he wanted to punch himself. “I- I mean I don’t want them either- you know? I swear I didn’t book any strippers.” Mark tried to save himself, but you just rolled your eyes.
“We’re going to have strippers though, Aera.”
“What? Aera, babe, I thought we said no strippers.” Jaehyun pouted.
“I told her! Y/n No strippers!” Aera panicked.
“No strippers for you.” You mocked Mark and he glared at you.
“No strippers and that’s final.” Jaehyun said strictly like a dad, pointing his finger at me.
“I was just joking- don’t worry. No strippers. Promise.”
You could break my heart in two But when it heals, it beats for you I know it's forward but it's true
The next day was hectic. Family members and friends finally arrived and you, as the maid of honor, tried your best to be there for them and for Aera. Mark on the other hand just hung out with Jaehyun. The wedding is tomorrow and the bachelor parties are tonight. Aera was a little stressed, even with your help. She was talking with the catering company and you could see how exhausted she was.
“Aera, go take a long relaxing bath, I got this. I have your list and all of the information. Let me manage this, you need to relax and enjoy this. I don’t want you to stress.” You told her.
“You’re right, I trust you with this.”
You did everything you had to do. You were done with the check list and when you were about to go to your room to take a quick nap, a voice interrupted you.
“So, Y/n. Did you get hotter? Or is it just the weather in Greece?”
You turned around and faced Johnny Suh. A close friend of Jaehyun and he was always flirting with you, even when you dated Mark, but it was harmless. He was always nice and kind and you flirted back, just for fun of course and well, you liked making Mark jealous.
“Oh look at you! Long time no see.” You hugged him and the other boys trailing after him. Mark leading the boys and watching you and Johnny flirt right in front of him.
You hugged the others, and they didn’t know how to act, since Mark was glaring at them, which you didn’t notice.
“So Y/n, do you need any help?”  Johnny said, winking at you.
“I’m actually done with everything, I was about to take a nap.”
“A nap? Come on, we’re in Greece. Let’s go to the beach.” Johnny suggested and everyone agreed with him, even Mark.
You thought about it for a second. Going to beach sound perfect, who knows If you ever come to Greece again.
“Alright, I’ll go get my stuff and change.”
You changed to your bikini and a sundress. You packed your back, a couple towels, sunscreen, and your sunglasses. The boys were already waiting for you. Jungwoo, Mark, Johnny and Yuta were the only ones who wanted to go to the beach. Jaehyun was napping and the others wanted to go to the city.
You were sitting between Jungwoo and Mark. Johnny was driving and Yuta took the passenger seat. You pressed your legs together, you didn’t want to touch Mark’s legs. After everything that happened last night, you were scared and you didn’t know what to do. Mark wasn’t doing any better. It was so awkward and if he could, he would kiss you again.
Not even 15 minutes later, you arrived at the beach and it was such a beautiful view.
“Wow, it’s so beautiful.” You said with wide eyes.
“Not as beautiful as you are.” Johnny flirted and you softly hit him on the shoulder, “Shut up.”
Mark tried to ignore Johnny’s flirty behavior, but it was so hard, even back when you and Mark were still dating, he hated it whenever Johnny flirted like that with you. He didn’t even know why, he shouldn’t have cared, he was only dating you for the money, right? But now it was different. Now he cared even more, he wanted you and it drove him crazy that you ignored him all day.
When you settled down right in front of the beach, Yuta and Jungwoo dropped everything and ran straight into the water.
“They didn’t put any sunscreen on.” Johnny mumbled, “Can you help me put some on Y/n?” he asked you.
“Sure.”
Once again, Mark wanted to punch his friend.
The way you put sunscreen on Johnny’s back was quick, you wanted to annoy Mark, you didn’t want him to think that you were really interested in Johnny. Johnny thanked you and asked you if you need help too and when you nodded, Mark remembered when he put sunscreen on your back yesterday.
Mark smirked at the memory, you’re so beautiful and your moans were so pretty and-
Mark’s thoughts were interrupted by you.
“Johnny, you are so strong, it feels so good.”
How could you say that, Mark thought.
“Y/n are you still with that piece of shit?” Johnny asked you as he massaged your back. “No I broke up with him.”
“So you’re single right?”
“Fuck- Yes, single.” You closed your eyes and enjoyed the massage you were getting.
“Hyung, I think Yuta is calling your name.” Mark interrupted.
“I can’t hear anything?” you mumbled.
“For real, he called your name just a second ago, maybe you should go look after him.”
Johnny’s plan worked. Johnny could hear the jealousy in Mark’s voice. Johnny wasn’t really interested in you, yeah you were pretty and you have a great personality, but you were still Mark’s ex-girlfriend and Johnny knew that Mark still liked you, even though he never admitted that.
“Alright, maybe Mark can continue?” Johnny asked you.
“I don’t know… Mark’s not as strong as you are.” You teased.
“I am strong, did you forget about yesterday-“
“Okayyyy.” Johnny laughed awkwardly and left you two.
Mark placed his hands on your back, he softly massaged you. You were laying on your stomach and Mark slowly untangled your bikini straps.
“How is this?” he asked you as he put a little pressure on your back.
“G-Good, so good.”
“You like making me jealous huh?” his hand travelled down but he stopped right before your butt.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” You said innocently even though you knew exactly what he was talking about.
“Oh baby, you do. You know what I’m talking about,” he put a little bit of pressure on your neck, “I really want to spank you for behaving like a brat.”
“Do it.”
“Don’t play with me.” Mark bend forward and pressed his lips on your bare shoulder. He left wet kisses on your skin and you closed your eyes and let him.
You missed him. You missed Mark so much. You wanted him and he wanted you, but there was still something holding you back.
You got interrupted by the ringing of your phone.
Mark pulled back and when you tried to stand up to reach for your phone, you forgot that your bikini was loose.
“Oh shit-“ you laid back and Mark giggled. He tied your straps back together and you finally answered your phone.
“Hi Aera, yeah we’re at the beach. Everything is done, don’t worry I took care of everything. Yeah be ready at 9 I’m not telling you what I’ve planned. The dress code is red and short. No Jaehyun won’t get jealous because he won’t get to see you until the wedding. Oh, I’m- I’m with Mark right now- would you shut up we’re not-“ you glanced at Mark who was already looking at you, “I’m hanging up now.”
Aera teased you with Mark, she asked you why you were alone with him and if you were doing dirty things with him.
“I’m going to the boys, are you coming?” you asked him softly.
Mark just nodded and trailed after you.
I wanna hold you when I'm not supposed to When I'm lying close to someone else You're stuck in my head and I can't get you out of it If I could do it all again I know I'd go back to you I know I'd go back to you
After your fun beach day, you got ready for the bachelorette party. Aera’s three other friends were also coming and knew about your plan. You booked a limousine and a VIP place in a club, it wasn’t much, but Aera liked it the traditional way.
After changing to a short red dress with thin straps, you put on makeup and you were ready to go. The others were also ready and Aera tried to hide herself.
“Jaehyun can’t see me like this- he’d rip this dress off me, then he would fuck me and then he would burn it.”
“Calm down, Johnny told me that they already left.” You assured her.
“Fine. Fuck I look so hot.” Aera opened her front camera once again and looked at herself.
“Yes you do and now let’s get wasted!!” one of her other friends said.
Driving in a limousine was fun, Aera popped the champagne bottle carefully and after driving around the city for 3 hours and having fun in the limousine, you arrived at the club.
You entered the VIP lounge and the night started perfectly. Everyone was having fun, dancing, and drinking.
Aera secretly texted Jaehyun that she missed him and loved him. She also left for about five minutes just to talk to him in the restroom.
“Where the hell were you?” you asked her.
“I was talking to Jaehyun I’m sorry I’ll turn my phone off now.”
And she did, of course after she texted Jaehyun that she was turning her phone off, she didn’t want him to worry and also have fun.
After that, Aera drank and danced like there was no tomorrow.
You were also having the time of your life, it’s been so long since you danced freely in a club. No, it’s been so long since you had fun at all. When you were with Minho, you never had any fun. It was always about him, his pleasure, his feelings, everything about him. All you could think about was Mark when you were with Minho. No matter how much Mark hurt you, when he was your boyfriend, he was always perfect. He valued you more than Minho ever did. You shouldn’t be thinking about Mark when you were lying next to someone else, but you couldn’t help it.
“Y/n?”
You turned around and your eyes met Mark’s.
“M-Mark? Are you real? Or am I dreaming?” you giggled, you were tipsy.
“I’m real,” he stroked your cheek, “This island is so small, we ended up at the same club.”
You wrapped your arms around his neck and he put his hands on your waist. “I was thinking about you the whole day.” you admitted, you were drunk and drunk you always said the truth.
“Me too. Couldn’t get you out of my head.”
“Are you drunk?” you asked.
“No, but I’m still telling you the truth. I missed you.”
“I miss-“
“Y/n! Jaehyun is here and he can’t see Aera, it’s almost midnight! It’s bad luck to see the bride before the wedding!” Aera’s friend giggled, “and she’s so fucking drunk and I’m so drunk too,” she giggled again.
You sobered up quickly, thanks god you didn’t drink much, there has to be someone sober enough to take care of everyone and you could never forgive yourself if anything happens before the wedding.
“I’ll take her back to the hotel, you guys can stay and have more fun.” You told her and she thanked you and told you to call if anything happens.
Mark followed you, he helped you carry Aera to the taxi.
“I’ll come with you.” Mark said.
“Don’t worry about us. I can take care of us, go have fun with the boys.” You smiled softly.
“No I want to be with you- I mean, I was bored anyway, and tomorrow is the big day, I should have some… sleep.” He scratched the back of his head nervously.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
When you arrived at the hotel, Mark helped you carry Aera to your room. She was going to stay with you for tonight, Jaehyun shouldn’t see her before the wedding.
“Sleep tight, tomorrow is going to be your big day.” you said as you tugged her in.
You turned to Mark with a small smile on your face, “Thank you. For helping me with her.”
“Of course. Uhm, do you, only if you want to of course, do you want to drink something with me? In m-my room if that’s okay for you. I mean it’s still early and I’m not really sleepy, you know.” Mark rambled.
“Yeah, sure.” You said shyly.
Mark opened the door and you entered his room. His room was clean and had a perfect view. Even at night, the view was beautiful. The lights in the dark, the moon shining brightly, it looked mesmerizing.
You stood in front of his window and Mark watched you with a smile on his lips to you, the view was everything but to Mark, you were everything. You looked absolutely beautiful to him.
Mark took a couple steps and was now right behind you. He wrapped his arms around you and put his head on your shoulder. You intertwined your fingers with his and pulled him closer to you.
“It’s beautiful.”
“You are beautiful.” He whispered softly against your ear.
You turned around, his arms still around you and his face so close to yours.
“I couldn’t tell you this in the club so I’m going to say it now,” you whispered against his lips, “I missed you too, Mark. I missed you so much.”
And without thinking twice, you both leaned in and kissed.
You closed your eyes immediately and you wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him even closer, he did the same, he pulled you closer by your waist and pressed you against the window.
He kissed you gently and slowly, your heart pounded against your chest and Mark’s heart was racing, too. As if time stopped right there, as if they were never apart. Mark’s right hand was on your jaw, softly pushing your head up to get better access to your mouth, you let out a soft moan, Mark used the opportunity to meet your tongue.
The kiss was perfect, slow but still so passionate.
Mark pulled back, you were breathing heavily and heat rose from your stomach to your chest, a feeling you couldn’t really describe.
He left wet kisses on your cheek, down to your jaw and then your neck. You tilt your head back, Mark sucked on your soft skin as your hands tangled in his hair, lightly pulling.
You could feel yourself getting wetter and wetter, you just wanted to take off this dress and let Mark fuck you.
“D-Do you want this?” he asked you.
“Yes-“ you whimpered as he sucked on your sensitive spot.
Mark pulled you to his bed, with you on top of him straddling his lap. Your lips connected again, you tried to unbutton his shirt as he grabbed your butt softly and squeezed it.
You almost ripped his shirt, but you didn’t care.
It was your turn to press your lips on his neck.
Mark closed his eyes, the way his crotch met you when you pressed yourself against him, the way your lips kissed his soft skin, leaving pretty marks on Mark.
Mark couldn’t take it anymore. His pants were so tight, it almost hurt. He wanted to feel you, he needed to feel you. Mark changed positions, he was on top of you now.
“Take this off- please, fuck, take this off now.” He looked for the zipper of your dress and when he finally found it, he wanted to cry.
He took off your dress, and fuck, he was going crazy. You weren’t wearing a bra, only your black panties.
“Fuck, you’re so perfect.”
The way Mark looked at you made you feel so beautiful. You weren’t shy like you used to be, you felt good and you wanted him so bad.
You pulled him up for a short kiss.
Mark took off his pants as fast as he could and he was painfully hard. He couldn’t wait to be inside of you. His lips were on your nipple, he sucked on your breast and his hand was playing with the other one. After sucking on your one nipple, his attention was on the other one. “Mark- fuck, it feels so good. Please don’t stop.” You moaned.
You were so wet and feeling Mark’s cock against your thigh turned you so on.
While playing with your nipples, his one hand found your pussy. He stroked it over your panties, but then his hand travelled in your panties and he started playing with your wet pussy.
“Baby you are so wet. All for me?”
“Yes, yes. So wet for you, Mark.” You closed your eyes tightly. It felt so good to feel his hands on you again.
Even thought Mark wanted to taste you, he couldn’t take it anymore, he needed to be in you now.
“You can take me, right baby? I need to fuck you.”
“Please fuck me Mark.” You also couldn’t take it anymore, you needed to cum.
Mark took off his boxers and hovered above you. “F-Fuck I don’t have a condom.”
“You don’t have a condom? Why?” you asked him.
“Well, I didn’t think that I was going to fuck you here.”
“What if you’d met someone else here?” you asked curiously.
“I’m not interested in someone else. I want you- I always wanted you.” He admitted shyly.
You looked each other in the eyes for a couple seconds, he leaned in and pecked your lips. He pulled back and looked at you again.
“You can fuck me without a condom. I’m on the pill and I haven’t had sex in months,” You can’t even remember the last time Minho fucked you. “And I never fucked without a condom after I had sex with you.”
“Me too. I mean after… after you I haven’t fucked raw.”
“Okay.” You said softly.
“Okay.” He leaned in and pressed his lips on yours.
While kissing you, he slowly pushed his cock in you. You grabbed his biceps tightly, he stretched you, you haven’t been fucked in so long, you got even tighter.
Mark pulled back and looked at you. “You feel so good around me. So, so fucking good. I missed you so much.” With that, Mark pushed his entire length inside of you.
“Fuck-“
He was fucking into you, slowly but hard. You could feel his entire length and he always hit your sweet spot. “Right there- Mark, fuck.”
“I-I want to ride you. Mark, fuck.” You moaned.
Mark turned you, you were now on top of him.
You bounced on his cock up and down, his hands on your waist pushed you down and he thrusted his hips to fuck into you. Your hands were on his shoulder, holding him. Even though you wanted to ride him, he was fucking you hard and good.
“M-Mark I’m gonna cum. Fuck Fuck Mark-“
And then your climax hit you. You collapsed on top of him and he still fucked into you. “Fuck feel so good. Y-you feel so good.” Mark was so close and the way he kept fucking you overstimulated you. You clenched one last time and Mark came inside of you, painting you walls white. He moaned your name as he came and you could feel him twitching inside of you.
Mark wrapped his arms around you and pressed you against his chest. Mark pulled his cock out of you. You could hear his heart beating against his chest.
The night was perfect, after cleaning you up, you were wrapped in his arms once again. You talked about everything that night. Everything you had missed when you were apart.
“Can I ask you something?” he said.
“Sure.”
“Did you ever love him? Minho or whatever his name was.” Mark was jealous, even though you were in his arms.
“No, I don’t think that I’ve ever loved anyone, except for you. I always loved you.”
Mark smiled and kissed your temple.
“Why were you with him? Why didn’t you break up with him? Jaehyun told me that he’s an asshole.”
“After- after you broke up with me, I was… lost. I didn’t know what to do. I felt worthless and just- useless. He made me feel- wanted? I don’t know. I needed someone to forget you and he didn’t care. He never cared about me but he made me believe that he loved me. And that’s all I wanted. I just wanted to be loved.” You whispered the last part. A tear escaped your eye and you were quick enough to wipe it away. But Mark still noticed.
Mark felt bad. He never wanted you to feel this way. You were a dream. You were so perfect and it was his fault that you felt worthless. If anyone was useless, it was Mark.
“It’s my fault a-and I’m sorry. I’m so sorry that you felt that way, but it’s not true. You are so much more. You are perfect in every possible way. You are more than anyone could ask for. I’ll never forgive myself that I made you feel this way.” Mark teared up and pulled you even closer.
“C-Can I ask you something?” you asked this time.
“Y-Yes.”
“What did you do with the money?” you were always curious about that.
Mark gulped hard, the memory pained him. “I gave it back.”
“What?”
“I couldn’t take money from a stupid bet, a bet that hurt you. I wasn’t proud of what I did. I wanted to forget that it happened, that I did that to you. I wanted to erase that from my memory. But I couldn’t erase you.”
“Why?”
“Because I love you. I loved you back then and I love you now. I never stopped loving you but I was too scared to reach out to you. I thought you hated me and it took me long to realize how much I love you.”
You looked up to him, you didn’t want to cry but your eyes were teary. “You love me?”
“Yes, I love you. I love you so much. There was not a single day without missing you, not a single day without regret eating me alive.”
“S-So you still love?”
“Yes. I love you.” He looked you deep in the eyes.
“I love you too.”
Mark smiled widely. Oh, how he missed hearing that you loved him.
“I’m sorry for everything.”
“It’s okay.” You pecked his lips but that wasn’t enough for Mark. He climbed on top of you and kissed you passionately.
His hand was on your naked thigh, stroking it softly. You were wet and when Mark put his hand on your wet pussy, you moaned.
Mark circled your clit and his tongue played with yours. It felt so good. He slowly put two fingers inside of your cunt and thrusted them in and out. You clenched around his fingers and you could feel your climax coming. Mark added a third finger.
His lips were back on your skin. Mark softly kissed your boobs and sucked on your sensitive nipples.
“Are you going to be a good girl and cum?” he asked you between his kisses.
“Yes- I’m so close.”
“Look at me.” His face was close to yours again, and when you looked at him, at his dark doe eyes, you came.
After you calmed down, you glanced at the clock in the room.
“Shit, Mark. It’s almost six in the morning. We need to sleep.”
You talked the whole night and after two orgasms and cuddling, you didn’t notice that it was already this late.
“But I’m hard.” He pouted.
“Do you want me to suck you off?”
“Yes, please baby, please suck me off.” He begged.
You were on the edge of the bed, your face right in front of his hard cock.
You slowly licked from the bottom to his tip. You pumped his cock in your hand a couple times before you put it inside of your mouth. After pumping him, you licked the slit on his tip.
“Babe- don’t tease me.” He whimpered.
“What do you want me to do?”
“Anything- but just please, do something.”
You put his entire length inside of your mouth, bobbing your head up and down and pumping the part of his dick you couldn’t put inside of your mouth.
You stopped bobbing you head and stared licked his tip again. “Babe- please. Please make me cum.”
Mark was going crazy. He needed to cum, his cock was so sensitive now, he twitched every time you licked or touched him.
“Okay, baby. I teased you enough, I’ll make you cum. You want to cum right?” you kissed his cock and he nodded. “Please. I want to cum on your face.”
You sucked his dick properly this time, he was so sensitive and so close, not even ten seconds later, he came on your face, just like he wanted to.
“Fuck, fuck fuck. That was so fucking good, babe, fuck.” Mark was breathing heavily, the intense orgasm tired him. You cleaned you face, fortunately he only came on your face and inside of your mouth.
You crawled back to him and kissed his lips. “Thank you.” He thanked you. “I love sucking your dick.”
“No, well yeah thank you for that too but I’m thankful for everything. Thank you for forgiving me.”
“I love you.”
“I love you.”
And you fell asleep in his arms.
I'd go back to you I'd go back to you What was there, wasn't sure But I'd go back to you I know I'd go back to you
Not even three hours later, your alarm clock woke you and Mark up.
“I don’t want to leave you.” You mumbled.
“I don’t want you to leave either. Stay a little longer.” He kissed your shoulder.
“I can’t I have to wake up Aera. It’s her big day, it needs to be perfect.”
“Everything you do is perfect.” Mark flirted.
“Shut up, I’ll see you later okay? Thank you for last night.”
“I love you.” He leaned down and kissed you. After kissing for two minutes to pulled back again. “I have to go.”
“Just five more minutes.”
Almost thirty minutes later, you tiptoed to your bedroom. Aera was wide awake playing with her phone when she saw you.
“Where the fuck were you and why are- oh my god.” Aera understood immediately. “You bitch fucked Mark didn’t you.”
“Yes, and now shut up and get ready for your wedding day!”
“I know I know, but like, I’m happy if you are happy. Are you happy?” she asked you worriedly.
“Yes. I’ve never been happier I think.” You smiled. You were really happy and so in love with Mark.
“Then I’m happy.”
Hours later, you found yourself in your maid of honor dress, looking absolutely gorgeous. Mark was helping you with everything. With the catering company, the guests and everything else that needed to be taken care of.
Mark stole kisses from you here and there and now he pulled you back to his bedroom and kissed you intensely.
“You look so stunning- I can’t stop staring at you. I love you, pretty girl.” He kissed you again.
“M-Mark fuck, you look so hot and I really want to fuck you, b-but, fuck we can’t.” you closed your eyes and let him kiss your neck.
“Okay, okay. I’m trying to stay calm, but fuck, you look so good I want to rip that dress off.”
“We’ll have the whole night. Let’s go back, people are going to get suspicious.”
When you went back, you met Johnny and Yuta on your way.
“Where are you two coming from?” Yuta asked.
“My bedroom- ouch.” You kicked Mark’s leg.
“What were you doing in your bedroom?” Johnny asked amused. “Do you want me to show you?” Mark asked with a smirk.
“Mark? What the f-“ and then Mark pulled you in and kissed you fully on the lips.
He could finally show Johnny that you belonged to him, that you always belonged to him.
“Well I guess we saw that coming.” Yuta laughed with Johnny. The two left and you were still kissing.
“Ew! He is eating her Mommy!” you heard a little girl scream.
You pulled away immediately and apologized.
Mark laughed his ass off as he walked you to Aera’s dressing room. “I’m going to eat you tonight. But not your mouth. I’m going to eat your cunt.”
“I can’t wait. I’ll see you at the ceremony alright? I need to stay with Aera now.”
“Okay baby.” He kissed you goodbye.
The wedding ceremony ended so quickly, next thing you knew you were in Mark’s arms slow dancing. Aera and Jaehyun’s wedding was truly beautiful. Everything went smoothly and you were finally resting in the arms of your lover.
Aera and Jaehyun were also slow dancing and smiling happily. Not only because it was the most important night of their lives- also because their best friends were finally happy together.
“Y/n?” Mark said your name softly.
“Mhm?” you hummed with closed eyes.
“I’m really sorry that I put you trough all of that, and I’m sorry that it took me so long to realize my real feelings for you. You’re the most wonderful person I’ve ever met in my entire life and I’m going to do everything I can to keep you in my arms. I don’t want to see sad ever again. I’ll love you until my last breath.”
You promised yourself you weren’t going to cry that night, but a couple tears still escaped.
“You know, I was hurt but I healed and I’m more than ready to do this with you again. It was you. My heart always longed for you, and I don’t think that there could be anyone I would love as much as I love you. You could break my heart thousand times, I would go back to you over and over again.” You looked up to him, he could see the love you felt for him in your eyes.
“I love you.”
“I love you.” And with that, Mark pressed his lips on yours and kissed you with so much love and adoration.
I'll go back to you I'll go back to you I know I'd go back to you I'll go back to you I'll go back to you I know I'd go back to you

You loved your boyfriend, he was nearly perfect. He could do almost anything he tries, he has the most beautiful smile and angelic voice. His only flaw, he’s a year older than you. Well, of course he has more than that, but that’s not important. What was important was when it came to the summer before your senior year, he was about to start college. You were more than happy for him, but it was eating you alive to think how far he was going to be. Now here you were, standing in front of him with watery eyes. You told yourself you wouldn’t cry, but he was about to board a plane and you didn’t know when you’d physically see him again. He was giving his hugs to his family, holding himself together till he got to you.
When he saw your eyes, a tear fell down his cheek. You let out a small sob, holding your arms out when he walked towards you. Grabbing your hands, Heeseung pulled you into his arms. His tight embrace was most likely what you’ll remember from this moment. He kissed the top of your head, trying to not get your hair wet from his tears. You looked up at him, trying to smile the best you could. He laughed, wiping the tears from your eyes with his thumb. “Don’t go.” You mumbled, feeling your heart already yearn for him. He couldn’t say anything, he knew he would’ve broke down if he did. Instead, he held you tightly in his arms till he heard the last call for his flight.
Finally releasing you from his arms, he gave you one soft kiss before he walked to his parents to grab his suitcase. “I’ll come visit you.” You said weakly. He smiled at you, waving as he gripped the handle on the luggage. “Get your driver’s license first and we’ll talk.” He said, jokingly. You let out a sad laugh, nodding as his parents joined you in a hug. His brother held your shoulder, trying his best to comfort you until all of you cried as you watched him turn the corner and board his plane. But that was 3 months ago since you said goodbye in person. You two have settled on FaceTime calls at night and texting all day when you could. As midterms were approaching, you knew he was going to be busy so you tried to get his attention as much as you could. Everything seemed fine up until one particular phone call when he was in his room and you saw someone pass by.
“And that’s when he walked out the class mid lecture.” He said, laughing about the story he was telling you about his professor last week. You laughed with him, missing the way his eyes form crescents when he’s laughing hard. Your laughter was cut off by the sight of someone walking behind him. You thought it was one of his friends he told you about, but this particular friend had long hair and this particular friend looked pretty feminine. When Heeseung wiped the tears from his eyes as he stopped laughing, he noticed the concern on your face.
“Are you okay baby?” He said, leaning in a bit. You nodded, swallowing the slight worry in your chest. “Who’s that behind you?” You asked, hoping for a answer that would soothe your racing heart. He leans back, not even turning to check when he answers. “Oh her? She’s in one of my classes. We are working on a essay together.” He said, so nonchalant, so easy. You believed him because you loved him, but your stomach was slowly twisting with doubt. “So, what are you doing next weekend?” You asked, focusing on the main reason you called to shift your focus from the sudden extra in his life. “I don’t know, nothing I think.” You smiled, clapping your hands together. “What’s got you so excited? Are you planning something?” He asked, peering his eyes at you playfully.
“Maybe, maybe not! You’ll just have to wait and see now won’t you?” You teased him, keeping your smile, until the girl in the back came behind your boyfriend. She leaned down, hovering over his shoulder and waved at you. “Hi, I’m Emily. Nice to meet you.” She said, smiling softly at you through his phone. You waved back, “Hi, I’m y/n, Heeseung’s girlfriend.” She gasped softly, turning to Heeseung with a look of shock. Under her breath, she whispered, “I didn’t know you had a girlfriend?” You couldn’t tell she was trying to be discrete, yet she was so close to his mic that you heard her clearly. Heeseung made a face, ignoring her comment and held a smile for you.
“Hey baby, I have to go. I’ll call you tonight?” He said, sounding somewhat rushed. All the happiness you had when the call first started was now gone, simmering in the pit of your stomach like a bad meal. When he hung up, you sat in your bed and tried to push out all the negative thoughts. He was your boyfriend, he was Heeseung. He’d never do anything to hurt you, maybe you’re just being jealous? With a long sigh, you dialed Jay’s number and vented to him about your problems. Thankfully for you, Jay was a good listener and he let you get everything off your chest.
“Did you want me to come with you to see him next weekend?” He asked, listening to the silence on your end. You were chewing on your lip, excitement taking over. “You’d do that for me?” You asked, already knowing the answer. Jay laughed a little before responding, “Yes, just text me the information for your flight and I’ll get us seats next to each other.” You ended your call with Jay shortly after that, packing your things for the upcoming weekend. By the time the day had come, you and Jay hopped on a plane and flew out to Heeseung’s college. The cab driver gave you two directions to a nice place to eat dinner. You two left your luggage at Jay’s hotel, going to come and get it at a later time. Since Heeseung has a single dorm, you would spend the night cuddling up to your boyfriend.
The campus was huge, almost intimidating on how beautiful it was. He was truly meant to be here, you could only imagine how well he fits in. Not only is the campus huge, but the dorm halls are just a spacious. It took you and Jay 10 minutes to find his dorm. Thankfully, some guys in the hall helped navigate the two of you to his room. When you reached the door, your nerves were pulsing with excitement. Your hand grabbed the knob, surprised that it was unlocked and so you walked into his room. What you saw wasn’t what you expected. You expected to see Heeseung on his bed or at least at his desk studying, instead you saw Emily on his lap while she ran her fingers through his hair.
When Heeseung turned his head to look at you, he asked as he scrambled to push Emily off his lap. “Y-y/n, what are you doing here? Jay?” He said, frantic as he straightened his shirt out. You stood there, frozen in fear and heartbreak. Jay was furious at his so called best friend. He knew how much you loved him, yet this is how he repays you for that love. “I should go..” Emily said, awkwardly leaving the room as the three of you stood in silence. Jay was the first to speak up, playing his hand on your shoulder. “Go outside y/n.” He said softly. Heeseung furrowed his brows, stepping towards you. “Don’t tell her what to do, you think now that I’m gone you can smooch on my girlfriend?”
Tears were falling down your face, holding back the sob that was scratching at your throat. “Do you even hear yourself? Your girlfriend just caught you cheating on her first hand with some random.” Jay spat back, becoming more angry the longer he stared down Heeseung. “Y/n baby, I promise I didn’t do anything, Emily-“ You cut him off, finding a little bit of courage to speak in front of him for probably the last time. “Do you love me?” A simple question. A easy question. One answer, yes or no. That’s all he had to give you. “Y/n..” He said, lowering his head in defeat. No, he didn’t love you. He may or may not love Emily, but he definitely doesn’t love you. You took a step back, sobbing softly into your hand. Heeseung’s heart was breaking at the sight of you. He never meant to hurt you, yet all he did was cause you pain.
With one hand holding over your mouth to muffle the choked sobs, the other held your waist to keep you up straight. Pain was washing over you in waves, crashing down harder each time. Just as you’re leaving, you heard Jay speak up once more. “She got her drivers license and wanted to surprise you, prick.” Heeseung looked up, watching Jay walk out of his dorm. Reality of it all was settling down on his shoulders. He lost you, he lost his best friend, he’s loosing himself. To make it even worse, you finally conquered your fear and got your license to surprise him. All the conversations about you driving to see him were coming back, making him feel even worse than he was.
2 weeks had passed since you last saw Heeseung. Every day since you’ve came home, you drove day and night to every place you two have ever been. To the window seat you two shared at the cafe. To the secluded spot in the park where he first asked you out. Past his house, staring at the window he used to peak out of to see you waiting for him. Your friends didn’t think it was healthy, but it was the only thing keeping your mind off the post Heeseung made just days prior. He posted a picture of him and Emily at a party, kissing in a crowded room. He moved on, he let go and he looked happy. Why couldn’t you do the same? But only Heeseung knows he still has lingering feelings for you, masking it by his affection for Emily. He didn’t like her the way he loved you. Now he spends his days numbing his pain in her while you spend yours driving past his house.

okay but what about airport!levi? he gives quiet businessman vibes sitting in his slacks and turtleneck
IN HIS TURTLENECK 😭😭 He would also be quiet and to himself, but not in the emo way. You got me thinking about all of them now, so here are my other thoughts about the boys at the airport.
Levi
He thinks the idea of separating classes on an airplane is beyond stupid, but if the flight is particularly long, or particularly packed, he’s not above paying for business class for a little extra personal space for the two of you.
When he doesn’t do that, tho, he never picks your guys’ seats ahead of time, so sometimes you’ll be separated. Good thing he’s also not above lying at the check-in desk, “I’m in Zone 1, could my wife be seated next to me so that we can board together?”
They respond with an “of course,” and move your seats together, and Levi walks back with a content nod of appreciation. You are not married, and marriage sucks about as much as class separation on a 30 foot long plane, but it has its benefits.
Masks on, regardless. No debates. Pandemic or not, the mask stays on. Do not perceive him, keep the pressurized air sharing to a minimum.
Doesn’t wander much in the airport. There’s nothing in there that he hasn’t seen already, except for the marked up prices on touristy t-shirts.
And if you wander, he’ll usually just sit in the waiting area to watch your bags while you window shop and do your thing. If you’re gone for more than 30 mins, he might call, under the pretenses of, “Making sure you didn’t get lost. You know that Starbucks was near gate 41 to the left, not the right, right?” Like he’s a comedian or something 🙄
He does encourage you to get snacks before you board, tho. Airplane food is gross, and he would much rather pay for a $13 sandwich that you can snack on later, than for you to have to eat mush.
He’s got a little portable mug he takes with him for when he’s wants to buy a hot drink before getting on his flight. It’s cute.
Doesn’t fall asleep on the plane ever. No matter how long the flight is—at most, he’ll take a quick power nap somewhere in the middle if it’s over 9 hours, but other than that, he’s good to go.
Doesn’t mind if you fall asleep, and he always adjusts your neck pillow to make sure you don’t get cramps.
Jean
Travel champion. This man loves being in the airport even though he’s convinced it’s a time capsule, he fucking loves it.
King of “your airport fashion matters, babe.” Not necessarily wearing a whole three piece suit, but he does put in a little effort; it’s not just the first pair of sweats he has laying around.
Swears coffee tastes better in the airport. It does not. That does not stop him from buying it. He should learn to quit tho, especially for someone who hates airplane bathrooms as much as he does.
Charming with all the security personnel and desk assistants. You could be checking in for a flight at 4am, and Jean’s got people smiling and cheery for their shifts.
Bitches about the selection of movies on the flight, and learns to just download his own ahead of time. Gets really startled when he’s watching something and the flight attendants try to grab his attention for food or drinks—the very loud, classic, Jean Kirstein “HUH?”
On that note, he also gets startled by the loudspeaker announcements in the airport. He doesn’t know why he has to hear about American Airlines flight 2170 to Cancun, when he is not on American Airlines flight 2170 to Cancun.
Not opposed to paying extra for better airplane food or drinks on the plane if it’s the right time of day. He always finds something to toast to, plus he likes to treat you whenever and wherever he can.
Takes care of your overhead luggage and helps out the people around him if he sees they’re struggling. Gets shy when you call him a gentleman for it, and he rubs his neck, grumbling, “I was just helping the line move a little faster.”
Great timing, generous, will pick up your checked bags for you, and already rented a car a week in advance: 10/10 travel buddy.
Porco
He doesn’t like planes and there’s no solid reason why—nothing bad happened to him as a kid, and it’s not even that rare unfortunate incidents freak him out or anything—something flying just makes him a bit uneasy.
He won’t say it though, and he tries to keep it together when you’re checking in, but you can tell he’s anxious once you’re sitting and waiting for your flight to board.
He’ll ask to switch seats if you have the window seat, because somehow the feeling of being boxed in between the plane wall/window and another person makes it feel more like a car than a plane and he’s okay with that.
Going to the airport is one of the few times he hair won’t be styled, and falls in his face a bit. He usually throws on a beanie to cover it up, but you think he looks pretty cute either way.
Can’t usually fall asleep and he hates it because he just sits there thinking about the worst for the entire duration of the flight. But when you travel with him for the first time and coax him into taking a nap it’s so much better.
It’s about the only time he’ll let himself be publicly babied by you; but it makes everything so much easier that he doesn’t even mind.
So now, whenever you get on flights, he just puts his hood up, lays his head on your shoulder and waits for the magic to happen.
Bonus: you’re traveling with his friends, and Pieck and Marcel past to your seats, surprised to see Porco fast asleep on your shoulder. Pieck squeals, going on about how you must be a wizard to have gotten him to nap, to which Marcel just shakes his head, “Nah, he’s just really in love with her. Look at his face, that’s the calmest he’s been since he was five.”
Connie
Loves the airport. Not an ounce of organization in his soul though. By that I mean, yeah, he’s probably forgotten his passport at home, or forgotten that a full size bottle of body wash cannot go into his carry-on luggage.
Forgets to wear shoes that easy to take off and is fumbling over himself after the security check trying to lace them back up or put them back on.
Likes for you guys to have coordinating sweatsuits, and even though you don’t travel super often, Connie’s got at least 3 pairs of them lined up for you guys.
Sweet enough to drop plans or rearrange his schedule to travel with you if you were originally gonna be alone. He knows you can handle yourself, but he doesn’t want for you to travel alone if you don’t have to, especially if you’re going someplace far and/or for an extended period of time.
He always finds breakfast food to eat before he gets on his flight (if you two even have time to spare for food that is). It could be 9pm, but Connie’s asking for a breakfast wrap.
Hates waiting in the little pre-flight area. Claims it’s boring as hell and that’s why there’s no reason to get there 3 hours early 🙄🙄
He always spends at least 30 minutes browsing all the movie and TV show options available on-board, loudly exclaiming in excitement when they have something cool to watch—only to fucking fall asleep 10 minutes later. Right on top of you when he was oh-so-excited to watch Madagascar 2.
Always steals the aisle seat, even if it’s yours. It’s probably for the best though, because he has to get up to pee at least twice, no matter how short your flight is.
Makes some cheeky remark about you meeting him in the bathroom. He doesn’t mean it... unless he does. Unfortunately, you’ve never... successfully been able to do that out of fear of being caught by the flight attendants, but there have been a few quickies in the “family” (“It’s ethical, because technically we’re participating in the act of making a family, babe”) bathroom before you boarded. It’s his fault, not yours.
Armin
He really likes planes, and traveling in general. I think trains would be his favorite mode of transportation, but airplanes are good too.
I hate to say it but he claps when the plane lands. I will not elaborate or defend my stance on this.
Prefers the window seat because he likes to look out at the clouds as he’s in the sky.
He took his passport photo a little before he cut his hair, so the security personnel always hold it up and flicker between his ID photo and his current appearance a few times before stamping it. It makes him a little embarrassed because he can’t tell if they think he looks better or worse and sometimes he’s really fighting for his life convincing them that that’s him in the picture 😭
Listens to music rather than downloading a movie or watching a show, and always brings wire headphones to the airport so that it’s easier to share and listen with you.
If you fall asleep on him first, he’ll likely fall asleep on you shortly after. If he’s tired enough, he’ll fall asleep first, though he’s somewhat embarrassed and disappointed because he wanted to see the descent and skyline outside.
When he’s not asleep or window-watching, he’s somewhat fidgety out of excitement, rather than nervousness. He’s excited to be traveling and looks forward to wherever you’re going, even if it is just a weekend long work trip.
Hates traveling alone, though. It just feels particularly lonely to him to be going someplace foreign without company by his side. So, he’ll call you at every checkpoint and send you updates.
He only ever buys two things in duty free: shot glasses with the name of the city/country you’re traveling to, and whatever variety of button down short-sleeves are available to him.
Erwin
You knew this was coming, but this man is absolutely at the airport 18 hours before your flight takes off, and he’s driving like a manic getting there, like you don’t have all the time in the world.
Fascinated by anything and everything in duty free. Definitely spends more money than necessary on your return flight on the grounds that he was getting a good deal.
Exchanges money in the airport and keeps cash in his fanny pack. There’s no traveling without the fanny pack.
Plays crossword puzzles on his phone on the plane, and it’s just about one of the only games he has. That and Candy Crush—I get the feeling he’d be on level 500+ of that game and he always knocks out at least 10 levels on a flight.
Always a little surprised when he feels his your head on his shoulder, but he says nothing, and acts like he didn’t even notice, but there’s a telling little smile on his face.
Takes the most foul selfies of him and your sleeping self. In his defense, he had the best intentions; but that angle was flattering nobody. It’s too bad he’d already paid for the in-flight wifi and sent it to Hange because now you’ll never live them down.
You could probably get him to put on a (skincare) face mask during your flight. He forgets to take it off tho, and if you don’t tell him, he’d fully walk through customs with it on his face.
Accidentally gets drunk because he doesn’t understand that just because he can handle several glasses of whiskey in his favorite bar on a Friday night, does not mean it will translate on a plane.

Aviophobia
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
---
It wasn’t like Wei Ying particularly hated air travel, not at all. After all, it was still the most practical way to travel long distances, and the distance between China and Europe was definitely long. The problem was that though he had just sat down in his seat, he was already horrifically bored. The airplane hadn’t even finished boarding yet, and there were around ten hours of flight still in front of him, and he couldn’t wait to arrive at his destination already.
He wasn’t looking forward to the flight, not least because he didn’t actually want to leave. After a year of not seeing her, Wei Ying had finally been able to take some time off and visit his sister, who had been living abroad with her stupid, loaded husband. He’d spent two weeks with Jiang Yanli and his little nephew, and it had been so good to see them again. A-Ling had grown so much! But now, a lot of work was waiting for him back at home, and he really needed to return, not sure when they would be able to meet the next time. That, he definitely wasn’t happy about.
Wei Ying distractedly fidgeted around in his seat, trying to keep in mind that it was no use to take out his laptop now, because the flight attendants would ask him to pack it up again for take-off in a few minutes. He had taken a book with him, anticipating this situation, but right now, the book seemed so unappealing he couldn’t even be bothered to unpack it from his backpack.
Come on, he mentally urged the passengers who were still moving along the aisles in search of their seat like a group of very slow snails, move faster, so we can leave.
Despite his best efforts, the other passengers did not speed up their pace, and so Wei Ying was cursed to sit there and wait until everyone was seated. He tried not to notice the usual offenders that managed to get in everyone’s way and blocked everything with their luggage, and tried to relax (rather unsuccessfully).
As he was idly watching the passengers pass him by, he caught a flash of white that caught his attention. Just when he was sure that his eyes were playing a trick on him, a man in a pristine white suit separated from the crowd and sat down right next to him. He pushed his briefcase under the front seat, fastened his seat belt, nodded to Wei Ying once, and then directed his glance straight forward, turning into a beautiful marble statue.
Wei Ying tried not to stare at his new neighbour too conspicuously, but he couldn’t really help it. The man seemed to be horribly out of place here in economy class, with a tailor-made white suit that very obviously was of high quality and therefore very expensive. His face equally set him apart from the other passengers, with a noble look and a bone structure that looked more suited to the cover of a fashion magazine. Wei Ying, in a simple hoody, soft jacket, and old jeans that were selected specifically for comfort purposes (after all, he would have to vegetate in them for ten hours), wondered how this unicorn had gotten lost among the common folk.
His seatmate was incredibly handsome, obviously wealthy, and… extremely stiff.
When the flight attendant finally announced that boarding had been completed, and that they were waiting for permission to proceed to the runway, the man next to him put his hands on both armrests, and for a second, Wei Ying was ready to be offended that this man hogged all the armrests for himself without consideration for the other passengers.
Then he noticed the man’s knuckles going white, his hands holding on to the armrests as if…
Wei Ying looked at the man’s face again. He was still staring straight ahead, his handsome face expressionless, his breath deep and controlled.
His eyes were fixed at some indeterminate point in the distance, and their focus did not waver at all.
And they weren’t even moving yet.
Oh dear, Wei Ying thought to himself. Someone is not a fan of flying, huh.
He knew that a lot of people probably wouldn’t appreciate his meddling, but then again, he couldn’t sit there and do nothing while his neighbour was counting breaths or whatever the fuck he was doing to calm himself down. He wasn’t going to sit next to this man for the next several hours and pretend that he didn’t notice that this person was very obviously panicking.
So he reached out, and carefully put his own hand over the one currently clutching at their shared armrest.
“It’s going to be okay,” he said, as quietly as he could. “You’re not alone, and you’re going to be fine.”
The man sucked in a shocked breath the moment Wei Ying touched him.
Wei Ying was ready to draw back and apologise for his unrequested interference, Maybe he shouldn’t have touched him, maybe he had misread–
The hand under his turned around and grasped his own, holding him fast.
“I apologise,” the stranger replied in a faint tone of voice. “For my unseemly display.”
Wei Ying laughed quietly, relief washing over him.
“It’s alright,” he replied conversationally. “We all have our little burdens to carry. As for me, I am deadly afraid of dogs, and I will jump into your arms when I see one. Not that I have much shame to begin with, but my fear of dogs is definitely bigger than any shame I might have. There will be screaming and a general amount of unnecessary, very ugly drama.”
That, finally, had the stranger remove his gaze from the undetermined point in the distance he had settled on, and he turned towards Wei Ying.
Wow.
Wei Ying had been woefully underprepared for this event. The man was even more handsome, facing him directly, and Wei Ying was sure he had never seen such beautiful eyes.
How, he wondered again, had this man ended up in economy class? He should be flying a private plane, not panicking next to Wei Ying on a commercial flight. He should be someone’s trophy husband.
“Dogs?” the man asked him, as if a fear of dogs wasn’t an entirely normal phobia to have.
“Yes,” Wei Ying replied earnestly. “Have you seen them? So fast, and they make so much noise all the time, and their teeth. Ugh. It’s a completely rational fear to have!”
By now, the plane had moved onto the runway, and was starting the jets up.
The man clutched at Wei Ying’s hand almost painfully as the plane started to vibrate, but surprisingly, he did not look away from Wei Ying, steadily holding Wei Ying’s gaze.
“Well, so is a fear of flying, I guess,” Wei Ying mused as the airplane began to move. “But think about this: it’s far more likely to get mauled by a dog than to get involved in a plane accident. There are dogs everywhere, and you never know when one is going to come around a corner! And some owners really don’t know to handle their dogs. So, you see. My fear is much more rational than yours. Also, I did get mauled by several dogs in the past, you know. It’s not even a theoretical fear for me, I know exactly what those bastards are capable of. Dogs are horrible. Not to mention that it’s too late to do anything about your fear now, anyway. Look. We’ve taken off.”
The man kept clutching his hand and stared at him without replying. Wei Ying didn’t know if he even heard anything Wei Ying had said, what with the noise and the pressure in their ears. But the stranger never looked away, and he never let go of Wei Ying’s hand, so that was good, he thought.
Eventually, when the airplane had gained enough height to level off slightly, and the pressure on the diminished, his handsome neighbour finally let out a deep breath and turned his gaze away.
Wei Ying felt almost disappointed to be relieved of the heavy weight of his gaze.
As he had said, the most beautiful eyes he’d ever seen.
“Ridiculous,” his neighbour murmured, eventually, after a long period of silence.
Wei Ying laughed.
“Hello Ridiculous,” he greeted, shaking their still-connected hands playfully. “My name is Wei Ying.”
The man’s head whipped around, and he sent him a positively offended look.
And then, after a beat of silence, he said,
“Lan Zhan.”
---
It needed some careful prodding and digging, but eventually, Wei Ying found out that Lan Zhan the reason why Lan Zhan was on this plain at all was because he had taken over the business trip as a favour to his older brother, who had been unable to travel.
Wei Ying felt the need to tease him for his self-sacrificing sense of familial piety, but he didn’t quite dare to tease Lan Zhan about it. After all, Lan Zhan had done a good thing, at the cost of his own suffering.
Lan Zhan was already bad enough when it came to flying as it was, but then someone had made a mistake with the booking, and he had been booked to fly economy rather than business class on his return trip. Lan Zhan, already at the airport and very troubled by the notion of having to fly, period, had not had the energy to discuss the mistake in his booking and decided to keep his assigned seat. After all, it hardly made any difference whether he was flying business or economy. He would spend the entire flight terrified, either way.
“Well, it was very lucky you ended up choosing economy,” Wei Ying mused. “Now you have a free emotional support pet for the entire flight.”
He grinned cheekily and wiggled Lan Zhan’s hand, still safely encased in his own.
Lan Zhan frowned at the joke.
“I thank you,” he replied regardless. “It is… much easier with you here. But I do not wish to trouble you with my… unfortunate condition.”
What a polite, honest man!
Wei Ying was delighted.
“It’s no trouble at all! You saved me from hours and hours of boredom, so it’s really not just you that’s profiting from this. Are you going to be fine when I have to go to the bathroom though?”
Lan Zhan frowned again, but nodded once.
“Good, good,” Wei Ying praised. “And if you wait for me very nicely, I’m going to get us some snacks from the kitchen. They never bring out the chocolate, which is a crime, really.”
---
In the end, after Wei Ying wheedled out information about Lan Zhan’s job and life for what felt like hours, Lan Zhan managed to relax enough to doze off for a little bit, and they spent the rest of their flight in a repeating pattern of chatting, dozing off, and then being woken up to be served questionable airplane meals.
When they finally touched down at their destination (Lan Zhan once again clutching Wei Ying’s hand as if it was the only lifeline that he had – and Wei Ying trying not to be too happy about that), they took their carry-on luggage and slowly ambled out of the plane, moving towards the baggage claim with the rest of the passengers.
Lan Zhan, as soon as he was out of the airplane and on solid ground again, straightened up and took on a confident stance.
Wei Ying was a little bit in awe. He looked even more handsome and formidable now, in his still pristine white suit. He was even taller than Wei Ying had first thought, definitely taller than Wei Ying, and Wei Ying mused whether there was anything about this man that wasn’t awe-inspiring.
(Well, there was that small case of aviophobia, but who could blame him for that, really.)
Wei Ying felt his hand twitch, and he sternly told himself that it was silly to wish for them to continue holding hands, now that they were out of the plane.
“Well,” he said awkwardly as he grabbed his luggage off the conveyor belt. He wasn’t quite willing to say his goodbyes yet, but he was equally unable to think of any reason to hold on to Lan Zhan’s company for a little longer. “I had a good time on our flight, Lan Zhan. Well. I guess you don’t really want to hear that. You probably had a horrible time. For your sake, I hope that you won’t come close to any planes for a while.”
“Wei Ying, too,” Lan Zhan replied. “For your sake, I hope that you will not meet any dogs suddenly coming around corners. So that you don’t have to leap into anyone’s arms.”
Wei Ying gaped, and as he stared at Lan Zhan in disbelief, he noticed the smallest uptick of Lan Zhan’s lips.
“Ayoo!” he cried. “Lan Zhan, are you teasing me? Look at you, all confident now that you are back on solid ground! Be a little more grateful to your emotional support pet!”
Lan Zhan nonchalantly picked his (very small, compared to Wei Ying’s big, lumpy one) suitcase up from the conveyor belt, and placed it next to his feet.
“I am grateful,” Lan Zhan said, serious again. “I have a car waiting for me outside. You are welcome to join me. I will drop you off anywhere in the city. As a sign of my gratitude.”
“Mmm,” Wei Ying made a considering noise. He didn’t want to say goodbye yet, not when Lan Zhan made him such a nice offer. But then, he was also really hungry.
“I would love to get chauffeured around, but to be honest, I was planning on getting some decent coffee and a nice breakfast somewhere first. The food in that plane was horrible and I’m not functional without decent coffee.”
Lan Zhan was quiet for a moment.
“Can you wait for half an hour?”
“Huh?”
But before Wei Ying could ask him to elaborate, Lan Zhan was already herding Wei Ying towards the exit. He somehow managed to argue Wei Ying into accepting the car ride (Lan Zhan didn’t even argue, how that worked, Wei Ying sure didn’t know), and then Lan Zhan drove him to the nicest little shop for the most delicious breakfast that Wei Ying could have possibly wished for.
He was ravenous by the time they arrived, but he definitely wasn’t in a mood to complain as soon as the first delicious whiff of fresh coffee and food met his nose in welcome.
Lan Zhan was very attentive as they sat down to eat, generously plying Wei Ying with coffee, and letting him pick all his favourite foods. Wei Ying also learned that when Lan Zhan wasn’t scared for his life, he was remarkably smart and funny. It was so easy to get comfortable with him that Wei Ying had a hard time believing that they had never met until just one day ago.
Lan Zhan was fun.
“Lan Zhan, you’re joking,” Wei Ying laughed, playfully swatting at Lan Zhan’s arm. “Your first serious family fight was because of rabbits?”
“They were very cute,” Lan Zhan replied seriously, insistent on the point.
Wei Ying leaned forward eagerly, meeting Lan Zhan’s serious mien with a big grin.
“And then, what happened with them?” Wei Ying asked. “Did your uncle cook them in a pot? Were you forced to eat rabbit stew?”
“The fourth generation now lives in my back garden.”
Wei Ying gasped. “You kept them?”
Lan Zhan showed the barest twitch of his lips. “Of course.”
Wei Ying nearly slid under the table at the sight of Lan Zhan’s proud little smile.
If Lan Zhan was trying to seduce him, then Wei Ying would consider himself sufficiently seduced by now.
Goodness gracious, that smile was criminal!
And he was the proud owner of a hoard of rabbits!
“Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan,” he sighed, shaking his head. “You are a veritable little rebel. But, speaking from one pet to another, there is no way you can only tell me about your rabbits and not show them to me. That would be very rude.”
And on Wei Ying’s request, Lan Zhan took out his phone and showed Wei Ying his rabbit children. And then, since he had his phone out already, he shared his contact with Wei Ying. And when they had finished their breakfast, Lan Zhan led him back to the car and drove him home to his apartment, as promised.
When Wei Ying opened the door of the parked car, ready to hop out Lan Zhan stopped him.
“Thank you, Wei Ying,” he said, his beautiful, serious eyes gazing at Wei Ying steadily, as he had done in the plane. “For your help.”
Wei Ying laughed, and rubbed his nose.
God, he really liked the way that Lan Zhan looked at him.
“For what it’s worth,” he replied quickly, “I’m willing to be Lan Zhan’s emotional support pet anytime.”
And then, because he felt like was too presumptuous and said too much, he hopped out of the car, grabbed his luggage, and weaselled away, to the safety of his apartment.
Once the door of the apartment was closed and his luggage thrown into a corner, he took a deep breath. He dug his phone out of his jacket to inform Jiang Yanli of his save arrival. She was probably wondering why he hadn’t sent her a message yet.
When he unlocked the phone, as expected, there was a message from his sister, asking him if he had arrived safely. However, before he could send a reply, his phone pinged with another message. A message not from Jiang Yanli.
[Lan Zhan, 11.46 am] I’ll take you by your word, Wei Ying. I might have to rely on your services again.
Suddenly, Wei Ying was glad that no one could see him here, hiding behind the door of his own apartment, as he blushed as red as a tomato.
This man!

It’s Been A Long Time | Nebraska Williams x Black!PlusSize Reader [Part 1/?]
Tumblr media
Warnings: language, smut thoughts (my ministry!)
So this has been in my drafts for a *HOT MINUTE* but that photo of Trevante in high school triggered a release. If people dig where it could be going, I will add it to my list of stuff to finish and open up a taglist. I’ll try my best to do so, I promise! lol
“God, I played this album out…” Lil’ Wayne’s seminal album, The Carter, didn’t age at all. Back in 2004, Wayne was a secret about to bubble over to superstardom, just years shy of lollipops and Static Major (rest in peace). Wayne represented the teenage angst of your time, even though you toiled in the suburbs while he wrestled with the streets. But as “On My Own” damn near explodes your factory speakers, a high pitch ping from your phone pauses your trip down memory lane.
Message from Sheena: Let’s catch up before the babies wake up.
You hit the call button on your dash once you stop at a red light.
“Girl, hey. You on your way to work?”
“Ain’t I always, Shi Shi? Damn near almost overslept. Thought I missed my flight.”
Sheena, or Shi Shi, is the epitome of a best-friend-forever. You two met in Ms. Grayson’s civics class, 11th grade. On the first day of school, you rolled into third period wearing a Scream Tour II t-shirt and if you were to describe Sheena in that moment, jealous wasn’t even the word.  She stanned hard for Lil’ Bow Wow but her mom wouldn’t let her go to the concert because she got caught with a boy in her room. That boy is now the husband half-way responsible for the twin girls she’s hoping will give her some grace by sleeping a little bit longer.
“Damn. You wanna gift some of that sleep to these twins, God mommy?”
“Only if you gift me some of those post-pregnancy boobs, Mommy Dearest,”
“Can’t do that. Jarell been having too much fun with those!”
“Girl, eww. I don’t need to know all that.”
You kinda did. Sheena’s stories were always live, wild and uncut. And the only fireworks you’ve been adjacent to in months since you broke up with that lame stockbroker, Keith. You curve around the airport parking lot as Sheena starts digging deep into her latest soft-core episode with her husband since the six weeks ain’t up yet. In between interjections of how nasty Jarrell could be and watching planes taxi in the distance, you cruise through Instagram to take inventory of what your day might be like.
Managing social media for the biggest sports publication in the country was not the fulfillment of a dream after high school because, shit,  social media didn’t exist when you were in high school. But it’s what has you just hours away from a flight to the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, sitting in a parking lot, listening to your BFF’s slow burn sexcapades. You break up the audio immersion experience once your timeline displays something else to ruminate over.
“Sheena! Shi -- shut up! I can’t believe - you remember Lisa from high school? She got married ...and it ain’t to Brasco.”
“Whaaaa… you can finally stop making u-turns in the hallway and snag your man!”
You didn’t appreciate the lowly dig from your friend about Nebraska “Brasco” Williams, star running back, track champion and boy so fine he made both Omarion and J-Boog look like ogres. Your high school crush had you shook to your pubescent core; pretty teeth, deep skin tone and two tattoos before the age of eighteen. You’d see him in the student parking lot with the rest of the football team and you’d rush to your car as if it would go home without you. He was too hot to handle. You were beyond envious that Lisa could.
“Lisa ain’t do too bad. Her man is crazy fine. I mean, not Brasco fine but still…”
“Man,  he had high school going crazy. I wonder what happened to him after that fight? I should stalk him on Facebook while I pump.” You laugh so hard, the couple walking past your car stops their argument to stare at you.
Your laughs break once you realize you might actually miss that flight. You relegate Shi Shi to kiss the twins for you and to send his Facebook profile if she can actually find it. You tried years ago and failed.
“Aight, fave. I will.  Love you. Text me when you touch down in Indy.”
As you weave through the terminal, your mind thinks back to the days at New Birth High School. While it brought you joy in a forever friend and the launching point for your forever career in sports journalism, it did bring you one of the most hurtful days of your life that took years to shake.
It was the summer going into your senior year. Lisa’s sweet sixteen pool party. No way in Hell you thought you’d be there but your Mom and Lisa’s stepmom sat on the same deacon board at church and somehow thought you two were friends; Lisa paid you dust in those hallways. You fretted over every part of your outfit, especially the swim shoes you didn’t want but your Dad picked up at Sports Authority. But you were fretting the most over your swimsuit, a red one-piece with a deep open back. It was sexy for a 16-year-old, to be honest, but you secretly tried it on at the mall and fell in love with it -- especially how it made you feel.
You fell in deep love with your body that day. The way the swimsuit clenched your waist, giving your almost-pear shape some definition you’d never seen before. Your hips sat wide, your breast placed taunt, just peeking through the sides, showing off a crescent shaped birthmark right below your collarbone. It was Jet Beauty of the Week-esque and it made you feel on top of the world. Something that society kept telling you a plus-size teenage girl was not to feel. You used the last of your paper route money to buy it and hid your secret weapon in the back of your closet until the day arrived. You were hoping to get some boy’s attention -- especially Brasco. But you’d take anybody’s glare if you could get it.
You were in the clear once your Mom dropped you and Sheena both off at Lisa’s back gate. As you walked into the party, the sounds of the local hip-hop and R&B radio station blasted throughout her huge backyard. So much fun was had -- so much splash and dash -- that the faint sounds of “Knuck If You Buck” failed to erupt a party full of teenagers it was made for. The pool seemed tempting in 90-plus heat but most of the temptation came from the jacuzzi next to it. There inside sat Brasco, his lanky on-field wide receiver sidekick Kenny and Jarell, Sheena’s partner-in-bedroom-bust crime looking delicious in their highlighter-color swim trunks. You were still figuring out your body and the reactions conjured up from the sight of water droplets chasing down their backs confused you even more. But the heat of the sun -- and the heat from your body -- got too much to bear. That pool called your name.
You stripped off your t-shirt and denim shorts, leaving your swim shoes back by the picnic table. They clashed. Your nerves splashed together like the water you couldn’t wait to feel, battering against your heart. Were you ready for all this attention? Amongst the rest of the classmates, you disappeared. You weren’t popular. People knew of you but didn’t know you, only associating you with Sheena by proxy of Jarell. “My Goodies” came on the radio, providing you a soundtrack and a sign from God. Before you could answer the call, Sheena jumped into the pool. You tossed your glasses on top of your clothes and did the same.
The water felt golden. Sheena smacked your face with sheets of chlorinated goodness. Too much fun was had by all, even Lisa joined in the fun. Suddenly the entire football team did too except Brasco and Jarell, languishing on the edge of the jacuzzi because like most boys from their side of town, they didn’t know how to swim. Lisa saw her boo in isolation and tapped Sheena on the shoulder.
“Hey, Shi Shi. Let’s get in the jacuzzi.” Sheena grabbed your hand to guide you out of the pool. You weren’t expecting to see your Mom at the other end. Sheena didn’t grab you to join her in the warm bubbles, she got you out at the angry-faced-behest of your mother. You both were going home. The party silenced and stares followed as everyone watched your walk-of-shame to grab your clothes. You got what you wanted in the worst way possible.
Your unholy exodus commenced when Lisa’s mom called yours to report what she saw: this red bathing suit too revealing for a little girl to wear. It wasn’t the green ruffled mess-of-a-bathing-suit from last year. She claimed to witness stares and whispers and “boobs hanging out, butt all out.” Your mom got over there quicker than a church shout. She waited to scold you after she dropped off Sheena.
It was a Sunday School scolding like no other. Tears pooled deep like the one you were just having fun in. You tossed the bathing suit into the trash bin. You were never going to see it again.
The announcement of your flight breaks you out of your day nightmare. Grabbing the handle on your suitcase, you see a text with an attachment from Sheena.
Girllllllllllll. I found Brasco and babyyyyyyyyyyy…
You gasp. Time did a wonder on him in all the right ways. He packed on even more muscle, chiseling out the navy thermal dressing his upper body. Teeth still bright, Moonlight-bright. His Omarion-Pandemonium-era braids were gone, now donning a clean fade with perfect waves. His stance meant business, a lot of it risky. You bite your lower lip to mask the “damn!” urging a release from you, staring at his picture so intensely that you damn near walk into the stewardess checking your boarding pass.
You couldn’t wait to get to your first-class seat. You needed a safe space to drown in your own splash waterfalls. You beg Sheena to send you his profile, looking to make some more of that mess and she obliges. Scrolling through his Facebook, you see nothing. You needed him to match your uncleanliness. Another text from Sheena breaks you out of your spell.
Ain’t shit on here though. I can’t find an Instagram or anything. That’s where the dirt is at lol
You put your social media skills to work. Ain’t an Instagram profile that you can’t find. Nebraska Williams brings up nothing. Such a unique name and nothing to show for it.
Maybe Jarell can follow him, Shi.
Jarell ain’t on this thing. He hates all this stuff. You want me to follow him?
Girl, yes! I need more pictures! I’m trying to find his ‘gram and no diceeeeeee. Ughhhh.
Damn the “no cell phone until after lift off” announcement. You then try “Brasco”, too many names -- rappers, really--  and a dog company to boot. “Brasco Williams” yields no results. You couldn’t wait what could be hours, days,  weeks, maybe never, for a response from Brasco to Sheena’s friend request.
You pull up Google as a last ditch effort. The results bring up what only seems to be archives from your now-defunct city newspaper covering one of Nebraska’s record-setting games from 2005. You know to quit while you’re ahead until you see a Youtube video: “Nebraska Williams (RB) New Birth High School (MD). uploaded by Donyell Williams. You remember Donyell as this boy who played too damn much in Geometry class but right now, he’s Brasco’s cousin who's Instagram profile came up on the first search. Thank God his profile wasn’t private. You scroll back far enough to hit the jackpot.
I found it! @donniebrascowill is his Instagram.
Sheena was right about the dirt. His posts were bare but his stories carried enough. Enough shirtless, weightlifting, fresh-out-the-barbershop-got-to-show-you-the-fade dirt. You hit the follow button before the stewardess asked for your drink selection.

jj maybank x reader
Previously: JJ and Y/n’s relationship is tested after the mental and physical difficulties of Y/n’s secret. She’s been an expert at hiding them, but now, he knows, and she has to face all her demons, and letting JJ think bruises are hickies is what she decided to do, to avoid the truth.
Tumblr media
You didn’t need to get a job, because you were a ‘kook’ now. So what were you going to do with your summer? It had to be out of the house. And it couldn’t be with your best friends, the pogues.
You brushed the setting powder over your neck and jawline. Taking a deep breath before heading downstairs for breakfast.
You couldn’t face your mom, you were just going to grab some food and leave.
“Honey,” you heard a deep voice say.
You jumped and turned around, “um, yes sir,” you frowned, looking down at the ground.
“You’re mother took an early flight and I’m having a meeting here, so you need to stay in your room today,” your step father stated.
“W-wait, mom’s gone?” Your voice was shakey. You didn’t even get to explain the whole JJ situation.
“Yes.” He said impatiently, “look, doll, I don’t have time for you right now! My associate will be here any minute and if he sees you, we will have a problem,”
You didn’t understand, but you listened.
“Can-can I just get my bag? It’s in the front..um room,” you asked, meekly.
“Damnit you idiot!” He shouts, his fists clenching. You squinted your eyes on instinct, knowing he wants to punch you, knowing you were seconds away from pain.
The doorbell rang.
“Fuck. Get the hell out of my face,” he shoved you aggressively, then left your sight to get the door.
You stumbled, landing on the stairs, on your side. Cursing on impact.
You quickly got up, grabbed your bathing suit and ran out the door. Deciding to escape to the beach.
You put on your navy blue string bikini and quickly dove into the waves. It was weird because the last time you were here, you were with JJ.
He’s always been so sweet to you and you never knew why. Your first day on the island, when no one would talk to you, he came up to you. And being the established, well-liked person that he is, others followed.
You were very shy at first, and JJ didn’t know the real you until about a month in. But he didn’t give up, he was perfect.
You came up for air again. The salt not stinging your eyes.
Friendship. You’ve never had anything close to it until you met JJ.
But it’s too late. He’s gonna stop trying after what you’ve done, after what you’ve let him think you’ve done.
“You cheat on me?”
“W-why?”
“Answer me.”
“JJ...I think you should go,”
“Y/n.”
In your head it was the right decision. But in your heart? You’d die without him.
“Hey! Catch any good waves?!” Someone shouted from the shore.
You turned around from wading on your surf board. Waving to the boy at the shore.
A head of shaggy, long-ish brown haired boy seemed cheery. He threw off his button up and jumped into the waves.
You sighed, you were going to have to talk to this stranger. You almost didn’t have the energy.
“Why haven’t you been...around?” John B asks. You were surprisingly comfortable around him. He was your friend, you just didn’t notice at first.
“Just some...family stuff going on,” you shrugged.
“Ohh right. JJ told us!” He remembered.
“He-he what?” You stutter, afraid of what he might know.
“Yeah, he said your mom was coming home and she hasn’t in a while. That’s really all he said,” John B shrugged, flipping his hair after.
You felt like crying. Your mom wasn’t coming home, she was visiting for less than 12 hours.
“Hey...what happened to your leg?” He asked, swimming closer to you.
“Nothing, haha don’t uh..worry about me. How are..how are you?” You changed the subject.
“Well...oh shit! Did I tell you! I fucked uppp bro! I kissed Kie-“
“You did?!”
“Yeah! And she totally rejected me,” John B admitted.
“Did she like swerve? Or like push you?” You asked, curious about a normal thing for once.
“Nah, we kissed and then she pulled away, and said the no pogue on pogue macking rule. Fuckin JJ found a loophole with that,” he joked.
“A loophole?” You questioned.
“Yeah. Because you’re technically a kook,” John B shrugged.
“I guess,” you sighed.
“Hey, wanna get out of here? The waves are shit,” John B asked.
“Yeah.” You sighed, finally feeling calm for the first time in a while. Afterall it was a good distraction from JJ and everything else.
You and John B swam to shore and you threw a hoodie over your head.
“How good does the Wreck sound right now?” John B chuckled.
“So good,” you laughed, imagining shoving fries in ur mouth right now at the best restaurant in the Outer banks.
-
When you arrived at the restaurant, John B held the door open for you. He wanted to see you smile. You did, a soft curl of the lips, but it faded suddenly.
Something was wrong.
John Bs chest collided with your back, he chuckled. Because you stopped walking and blocked his path foreward.
“What’s up Y/n/n?” John B asked.
“Shut up-“ you said abruptly, John Bs eyes widened.
“Um..sorry. I didn’t mean to snap, just...don’t say my name like that,” you mumbled.
“Why? It’s your nickname right? Are you not cool with me calling you that?” John B questioned.
“No, no. I didn’t mean..just..nevermind,” you sighed. You just didn’t like it when people said your name loud in public places, you didn’t want to be recognized by certain people.
“Okayy? Anyway, let’s do that table in the back,” John B suggested.
“Okay,” you answered, keeping your head down.
He walked you to the table, and to your surprise, Kie arrived to take your orders.
“Hey guys! Is this a date? Or...” she joked. Laughing.
“Very funny Kie. Are you trying to make me lose my appetite? Poor business tactic of you ask me-“
“Hey! You asshole,” you mutter. Dipping your fingers in your water glass and spraying it at him.
John B tried to duck, but then bumped his head on the table.
You and Kie laughed loudly as he groaned in pain.
She could barely stop laughing, “can...ah I take your orders?”
“Yeah...um I’ll get um...John B what are you getting?”
“A cheese burger with no Mayo,” he told Kie.
“Idiot,” she muttered as she wrote it down.
“You want the usual? Fries and-“
“Ooh yes I’ll just have fries and cheese please,” you smiled.
“Yup, you got it. Ok I’ll be back,” she winked before leaving.
“By the way,” John B began, “I just want you to know I’d never make a move on you as long as your with JJ. I mean-Kie was joking in all-“
“John B, don’t worry about it ok?” You interrupted.
“Yeah but...I also wanted to ask you, what’s going on between you and JJ. Eveytime I mention him you get defensive,”
“What are you talking about? No I don’t,” you responded.
“Uh huh,” he said sarcastically.
“Look, the truth is, I just don’t care anymore,” you told him. You knew in your heart it wasn’t true, but it had to be. You couldn’t take back the fact that JJ thought you cheated. So you had to go with it.
“That doesn’t sound like you,” John B said.
“Whatever,” you sighed.
“Oh shit,” John B said, staring at the door.
“W-what? Is he here? Did you invite him? I swear to God,” you said in a hushed tone. You didn’t want to turn around yourself, in case you had to look him in the eye.
“No, chill. It’s..isn’t that your step dad though?” John B asked.
Your moth dropped slightly, “John B don’t say shit like that, your-“ you were about to tell him he was scaring you, but you shouldn’t admit that.
“Look behind you,”
“No I don’t want to,”
“Just look,”
You sighed, and slowly turned.
“Oh-“ you started to respond, but you practically felt your heart stop. Instantly, your breathing picked up.
“What’s going on between you and JJ? Why wouldn’t you want him here?” John B said, trying to pull your attention back to him.
You shook your head, instead of answering. You could hardly form words. Maybe it’s the fact that if your step father sees you here, there’s going to be some contact.
“Whoa relax!” John B said, placing his hand on yours.
Immediately, you pulled your hand away.
He furrowed his brows, confused and offended.
“Sorry.” you muttered.
“You wanna...leave.. I mean ... you wanna get out of here?” You suggested, afraid he would say no.
“What? Why? We didn’t even get our food!” John B exclaimed.
“I..I know. I just..don’t feel like eating anymore.”
“That’s so weird, Y/n. C’mon we can’t leave. Just suck it up for a sec,” John B said shortly. Tapping your shoulder.
“Okay,” you responded. You thought back to JJ. He never made you do stuff you don’t want to. He was just so caring to you. Not that John B wasn’t, just that JJ knew you so well.
A few minutes later, your couldn’t shake the thought that the man you feared the most was behind you. You didn’t have eyes. You didn’t have JJ. You didn’t have anything.
“John B, I don’t feel well I think I’m gonna head out,” you told him, getting up slowly.
“You sure?” He said, analyzing your.
“I um...” for some reason, blurred vision erupted, and you started feeling like you were going to faint.
You stood up slowly. But things were getting worse, and your stance was unsteady.
You gripped the edge of the table for support.
“Y/n...what’s up with you?” John B asked. Sounding annoyed.
For some reason a tear escaped from your eye, you were sorry you were annoying him. So you muttered a quick, “I’m sorry,”
John B stood up, he was now right infront of you. And then, you collapsed. John Bs arms wrapped around you and pulled you into him as you fell.
He was shocked by this. Struggling to hold you up.
No one seemed to pay much attention, but anyone in their right mind would know that they should probobly take you to the hospital. But John B, as did many of the pogues, didn’t always trust authority.
So he took you back to the Chateau, where Sarah, who took a class in Lifeguarding was considerably the doctor instead.
“What happened?!!” Sarah exclaimed as she saw John B carry you out of the van.
“She just passed out. Hey can you help me carry her?” John B grunted.
“Uh..I’ll get JJ,” she said.
“Oh fuck. Wait! I don’t know if that’s such a good idea-“ John B began but Sarah had already called him from working on the boat.
He ran over, his eyes filled with worry. He quickly took you from John B. Carrying you without a problem bridal style.
Inside, he let you down on the couch.
You were slowly coming back to consciousness.
“Put this on her forehead,” Sarah said passing a towel to JJ.
“Hey...hey Y/n. Come back to me okay? Fuck baby. Don’t do this to me alright, wake up,” JJ muttered into your ear.
Moments later, your eyes started to flutter.
To witch JJ sighed in relief, taking your hand and holding it tight in his own.
“Let’s call her parents,” Sarah suggested, grabbing Y/n’s phone.
“Sarah no. Alright? Give me her phone,” JJ demanded.
“No! If I was her my parents would want to know! It’s not normal to just faint-“
“Sarah, give me the fucking phone,” JJ persisted.
John B frowned, “hey watch it, JJ. Don’t talk to her like that bro,”
Sarah frowned, and out of spite began typing on her phone.
JJs temper only grew, he only wanted to protect you.
He grabbed Sarah’s wrists and pulled the phone from her hand.
“Hey!” Sarah exclaimed.
“Dude!” John B interjected.
JJ returned the phone to his pocket.
“Bro, I’m gonna kill you-“ John B said.
“Wait,” you said meekly, “JJ was right, okay? It would only make it worse. Just trust me,”
“But why?” Sarah said concerned.
You shook your head, signaling you couldn’t answer the question.
Sarah sighed and wished you to feel better before leaving.
John B then stepped to JJ, “you’re lucky your girlfriend is so sweet. I would’ve kicked your ass,” John B threatened.
JJ didn’t want to cause a drive between any more of the people he cared about. So he just accepted.
JJ then sat by you, despite what had happened before.
“You really scared me, Y/n.”
“Wasn’t..my intention,” you stifled out, trying to get up.
“Whoa...whoa, can you stay to get some rest? Just stay here for me,” he insisted with a hand on your chest.
“JJ...” you sighed.
“I know it’s not true. I know what you’re doing.”
“Stop. Please.” You pleaded.
“You didn’t cheat on me. Those are bruises aren’t they. They’re not hickies. They’re from him trying to choke you.” JJ explained.
“JJ get away from me. We broke up. I don’t....I don’t-“
“You don’t what? You don’t love me?! Huh! Say it Y/n. Look me in the eyes, and I leave for good,”
“I don’t! I don’t deserve you! You can’t me with me. I’m used, JJ. You deserve a girl that isn’t so-“
“Broken? Y/n, I’m just as fucked up as you. You know my dad hits me right? He beats me. And it’s wrong. And I hate him. But I can’t hate you. Ever. Not for what that sick man has done,”
At this point, you were balling. Wiping tears as soon as they fell.
“JJ...I’m sorry. I’m sorry for lying. I thought you would leave.”
“It doesn’t work like that, when I love you more than anything in my entire life,”
“I don’t understand,” you stuttered.
“Understand what?”
“Even after you know what he does. How could you look at me, and still love me?”
“That doesn’t change all I’ve known as soon as I met you. And if you need me to prove it to you, I will.”

Summary: You are starting it over, from zero. New city, new apartment, new neighbours. You moved across the ocean just to get away, to be able to get a real clean start. Will your past let you leave though?
Tumblr media
If someone would've said to me 3 months ago that i will move to America all alone, just leave everything behind and rent a small apartment all to my own, i would've died from laughing. I had the (for the outside looker) picture perfect life. Big villa, handsome fiancé, financially all sorted since i had my own business, while he was a hotel mogul. Perfect life, perfectly planted all over social media, until that one night. That one faithful night when i decided to surprise him on our 3rd anniversary. With a bottle of champagne i opened the door to his office, thinking his secretary is already on her way home, all finished for the day.. Well turns out she really likes to put in "the extra mile" when it comes to her work. The bottle fell from my hand, alerting them of my presence. I should've been screaming, tearing her and him apart, but somehow i didn't want to do any of that. I took off the massive diamond ring with a straight, emotionless face, walked to his desk where i placed it, turning our engagement photo face down, then left. I have memories of him talking to me, begging, then shouting, but it is all just white noise. I dodged a bullet there.
Truth be told i don't think anything ever hurt like that night before or did it actually hurt at all?.. I couldn't cry. After all i know that i will never be enough, i knew that i'll never be pretty or smart or succesful enough. I am not someone that is loveable. No matter the little acts of love, no matter the sacrifices, I will never be enough. Not just for him, i know my family would still take his side as well. Telling me things like let the man have his fun... he might not be faithful in bed, but you're the one he'll marry. Yeah right, i scoffed while driving to the airport.
I am a well-known webdesigner, i even published books on the subject, held classes in colleges, gave interviews encouraging women to build their own career.. I am sure i'll manage elsewhere. I bought a one way ticket to the first plane to Boston. I had 2 hours until my flight, so i spent that with getting a small apartment in a seemingly quiet area... I honestly never thought i'll ever move out of Sweden. I left everything behind, literally only having my purse and my laptop, and the neccessities.
Finally it was time to board the plane.. Great i will now be smashed to the window the whole flight since i happened to get the only ticket left...next to this huge hunk of a man. I have to admit at any other time i would've been glad to sit next to a handsome, bulky stranger but right now it was the least of what i wanted. I excused myself and put on the eyemask they provided.
The next thing i remember is a smooth but strong hand gently shaking me, a sweet voice telling me to wake up.
-C-Curt? - i mutter, still half asleep.
-I'll have to disappoint you ma'am but it's just me. - he said with a kind smile. - We have arrived in Boston.
I sat up straight looking out the window.
-Well i guess i was really tired. Thank you for waking me up. - I tried my best to offer him a smile, but of course i couldn't not fake it. He scratched the back of his head then got up, letting me out.
-Ma'am! Do you not have luggage? - he asked not understanding why did i start to leave the plane without any kind of suitcase.
-No, i don't - I say, then leave.
I was one of the few people who couldn't get a taxi, or at least for the next hour, so i got a coffee and sat down at a bench just outside the airport. It was rather windy, but sunny day regardless. The rays of the morning sun caressed my face in the light wind. This was the first when i really believed i could do it. I could start it all over. On my own.
Just moments later a car stopped right before me. That man again, from the plane. I looked at him questioningly and tilted my head to the side. He rolled down his window and smiled at me.
-There's a storm coming, there won't be any more taxis here for the next few hours. Where are you headed ma'am? I'm sure i'm able to take you some of the way, if not all.
I stood up, walked over to his car, bending down to the window to be able to talk to him.
-Let's just quit the ma'am thing, i'm not anywhere near that old, and i don't think a day this sunny will end in a storm, but i'll take you up on the offer.
He gave me that damn 2000 watt smile, while opening the door for me to get in.
I fasten my seatbelt, then nod at him.
-So where are you headed? - he asks.
-Hmm, let me look it up. - you said as you opened the email to search for your new address. You put it in the gps and show him. -There.. I'm heading there. It is okay if you cannot take me all the way, i don't wanna mess up your schedule. I'm sure you have places to be.- i said with a small and somehow sad smile.
He nods then gives me my phone back.
-Do you not need the navigation? - i giggle.
-No, i know the area pretty well.
-Oh, i see, is it... like... safe?
-Yes it's a nice neighbourhood. More like a little town of it's own, except it's kind of in the middle of Boston. Everybody knows everybody there. Are you visiting?
-No.. i.. i'm moving there actually.
-Oh so you're the one Sarah talked about.
-I'm guessing you live there too?! - i asked while looking out the window, taking in my new surroundings.
-Yes, i do, matter of fact that - he says as he points at my phone - that makes you my brand new neighbour.
-Such a small world... - i mutter under my nose, hope he doesn't hear it.
He somehow knows he shouldn't pry into the why's of the lack of luggage, and the reason of my move. He let's me adjust to the car, to his presence, and to the new surroundings. An hour later he stops before a nice looking apartment complex.
-This is our stop. - He says with a smile.
With a sigh i get out of the car, and look back at him, before shutting the car door.
-Thank you for taking me home, and sorry for the inconvenience. Have a nice day. - I didn't wait for his response, just shut the door, and headed for the main etrance.
It was a nice apartment. It had a little balcony and big windows. Perfect for sunny, warmer mornings, to work, or just to have coffee. It barely had furniture, i'll have to fix that rather sooner than later. But for now I'll settle for a long bath and some take away.
One hour in, and i hear the doorbell ring. Did the press already find me? Is it Sarah? I wonder while quickly putting my robe on, and twist my hair with a towel. As i open the door, i see a suddenly flustered man. The very same one who brought me here from the airport, and i realize i still don't know his name. He coughs, then hands out a bag to me, and he's holding a box of pizza in his other hand.
He has this boyish smile while trying hard to look me just in the eye.
-I...i - he stammers - I brought a few beers and a pizza over. You didn't have luggage, and this flat was empty for 4 years since Buck moved to NYC so i thought you'll need some food maybe some company...
-That is so kind of you! Please come in.. i'll be back in a second.. i'll just.. put on some... clothes first.
He sets the food on the coffeetable while looking at my hurriedly retreating back.
-Please make yourself at ho... yea no problem with that. - I tease him as he's currently getting all comfortable on the couch.
-Oh i'm.. um sorry. I used to spend an awful lot of time in this apartment, i guess it is kind of a second home at this point.
-Well, you're welcome anytime.
-Thank you... um.. Why do i not know your name yet? - He smiles at me confusedly, and i feel a giggle emerge from my throat.
-Because you never asked.. I'm (Y/n). - i say as i held out my hand.
-Steve.. - he says, and his hands linger just a second more than a simple handshake should last.
-So what brings you to this side of the city? I never heard an accent like yours before.
-Um.. i'm from Sweden. I'm kind of.. um.. starting over i guess.
-SHit.. sorry, i didn't want to make you uncomfortable.
-No it's okay.. I guess i'm just not really ready to face the reality of the past few days.
He doesn't ask about it any further. If i'm ready, i'll probably tell him about it all, but for now i'm just happy i'm not spending my first night here alone.
-So tell me about this apartment.. what should i know?
-Well it's in great condition, if you ever see flooding then thats probably the Barton kids upstairs. They like to fill not just the tub, but the whole bathroom as well.. Next to them is Sarah and Sam, siblings. Your neighbours are Nat and Wanda, then on the other side it is me. The wall are rather thin so.. um.. yea there's that... and what else... - he starts to think - oh yea, the door to he balcony is stuck, but i'll come and fix that one for ya.
I look at him with a smile, while open another beer. We spend the next few hours talking, but mainly it's him doing the talking, telling everything i need to know about my neighbours, and the community here. Soon enough it is time for him to leave cause he has work tomorrow.
The next day, i feel rather depressed, so i decide i'll go on a walk. Kind of like a tour of the surrounding area. I found a small coffee around the corner, which i really appreciate right now, since i still don't have a coffee maker at my new home.
When i open the door the scent of freshly brewed coffee hits my nostrils, and i honestly feel a bit happier from it. The chiming of the door alerts the barista who is a red haired girl with a kind face.
-Hi, how can i help you?
-Hello, i would like a cappuchino please.
-Coming right up! Please take a seat, and i'll bring it over right away.
I couldn't help but smile at how kind she is to me. Feel like starting over in a place with kind people like this barista and Steve will be easier than i thought.
-Thank you very much. -I say as she put the coffee down before me.
-You're new here. - She says with a smile, sitting down at the table.
-Is it that obvious?
She giggles - Well i know a swedish accent when i hear one..
-I should practice my english, shouldn't i? - i say laughing.
-No, i really like it. If my old neighbour would still live here he'd be head over heels for you just cause of that accent..
-Thats exactly what my new neighbour said about his friend.. Are you like... a cult?
-That depends on who is your new neighbour really.. -she says smiling at me playfully.-Are you by any chance the new tenant 2 streets down from here?
My eyes are open wide, i don't even need to answer that question, her smile grows 10 times bigger.
-I'm Wanda! Glad to meet you sweet sweet neighbour!
-(Y/n), guess it is a cult then huh? - I ask as we burst out laughing.
She has this aura around her. I know from the start that she's kind, but over my cappuchino we became somehow friends even, and she made me promise that i'll go to the bar with them on Friday. As it is their weekly "cult-meeting".
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Between getting furniture, trying to get clothes and stuff i need, and managing work alone, i find myself being kind of late from the friday cult meeting with my neighbours. Don't get me wrong, i really appreciate that they invited me out, and that they want me to be a part of the gang, but i am just so swamped. I honestly havent left the apartment in 4 days, and i only opened the door to get food, or packages and furniture delivered. Then around 8 a knock on my door startles me.
Greasy, messy bun, and sweatpants, all my glory, i open the door, only to find Wanda and another red-head on the other side.
-Why are you not ready yet? - asks Wanda cheerfully.
-Oh yea, i guess time flies, i'm rather swamped with work and stuff. Still need to get my visa sorted out too.
-I can help with that - said the red-head.
-Shit, sorry, i'm Y/N. - i said as i shook her hand
-Nat. Nice to meet you.
-So you said you can help with the visa thing? I have a fcking degree in design and i can't seem to get a simple working visa right...
Nat and Wanda looks at eachother before laughing.
-What? - I look at them confused.
-Go and take a shower, i'll rummage through your closet and we'll be good to go in no time.
-Yea, that's the other thing i forgot to mention... My closet is pretty much empty still. I moved here with just that. - I said, pointing at my laptop and handbag. I'm telling you... the pure horror on their face was the best thing i've seen all week.
-This is an emergency.
-No it's not.. i can always wear what i came in.
-No you cannot! Jesus, we're going to a bar, and we're gonna dance. - said Wanda.
-I also heard that the boys will be late cause they need to collect mister NYC from the airport.
-Wait.. Mister NYC? Do i already need to look for a new apartment?
-No, (Y/n).. He'll be living with Steve just as before...
-Before what?
-Before Dot?
-Before Who?
-Dot.. his um.. well i honestly don't know what they are at this point, but seeing as he moves back here, and with Steve i guess i'd call them exes.
-Oh nice. We'll have two sulking singles, two bisexuals, and me. - said Nat with a hint of sarcasm.
I rolled my eyes as i headed for the bathroom. I heard the door click shut, assuming they have left to find me some probably too revealing dress or something.
When i came back out i found Nat looking around the flat.
-So why on earth did you leave Sweden? That country is awesome.
-Oh yea well.. It is awesome, i just needed a change of scenery.
-Man problems?
-Bingo. - You said with a sad smile. She walked up to you to hug you.
-Men huh?! - was all she said. Just then Wanda marched trough the apartment with a pair of burgundy heels, and a little black dress. Not too revealing, except for the legs part, but it will be okay, with my leather jacket of course.
Soon enough i was entering the bar behind the girls. I felt great. The dress fit perfectly, and somehow Wanda even got my shoe size right, hair over my shoulders, in nice, loose curls. I felt like when i was in college, when I met that asshole for the first time. Confident, pretty, dressed to kill. Although I felt none of that right now, I still felt better than in the last few days.
Nat put a hand on my waist ushering me further to a box, that had 4 men in it already, one being Steve. All 4 of them were looking at me like they either saw a ghost, or the prettiest woman alive, and i honestly doubted it was the latter.
-And that's your Visa sorted honey. - Nat winked at me, earning a giggle.
Everybody introduced himself, and i decided to sit between Steve and Wanda. I felt most comfortable with them anyways. The conversations we had, all the laughs, teases, drinks felt good. I felt free, and for once in my life i felt i belong. If this is a cult, i'm sure as hell would like to be a part of it.
The girls wanted to dance, but i was just ready to go home and sleep, tomorrow i have a big day, meaning i will be building my bed, and then work all day again. Wanda pouted at me, but no can do. I am drunk enough to know i need to go home before they bring me another shot, cause then i'll lose it and either bring some random guy home, or cry all night in the toilets. And i didn't really wanted either of those.
Steve and as i know now Bucky were heading home as well, so it was convenient we walked there together, and honestly i was thankful for that, cause three shots two beer Y/N was not known for her good navigating skills.
By the time we reached my front door, i got to the state of the - i am horny - but i will cry shamelessly over my ex - stage. And i know i need to get inside the apartment fast, or this would be a short friendship with them.
We said our goodnights, and i tried to open my door. They were nearly inside their apartment when they heard me curse while sobbing a bit.
-Shit... FUCK THIS.. - i cried as i threw the keys on the floor, and sank down the door.
Bucky turned around, leaving Steve at their door.
-Hey... shh doll. Whats wrong?
-I can't get this stupid door open..
-Yea, sometimes it's stuck a bit, here let me help you.
-WHY ARE YOU ALL SO DAMN KIND TO ME?... - i cried even harder.
He bent down to gather little old drunk me in his arms when his scent hit me, and somehow calmed me instantly. I mean i am drunk, i am in this small black dress... Maybe i'll just... yea, i'll just cuddle him a little now that he decided to take me into my apartment. i thought as i laid my head on his chest, with a hand in his neck as he carried me in princess style, and i kind of pretended to be asleep. Getting the cuddles without the cringy talking. BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE.
When he notices that i am "asleep" he smiles, and goes for the bedroom, only to realize i have nothing but boxes, and a matress on the floor. He puts me on it carefully, pulling my blanket on me, then he caresses my face as he says - i know you are not sleeping doll, and I don't know who or why hurt you, but i can promise you you are safe with us.
-Please stay, - i murmured, reaching out a hand to him... gosh i am drunk.. - only until i fall asleep.
He looked to be hesitating.
-I don't ask you to fuck me Bucky, i just don't want to be alone.
That makes him chuckle. I feel i can be truly myself with them, and that means running my mouth as well.
-Yea sure doll. - he gets on the mattress nex to me, but far enough for us not to touch.
-So why did you leave this awesome apartment? - Look i was drunk okay? And i ran my mouth.. he didn't seem offended though.
-Well i.. I thought i found somebody that's worth leaving everything behind. Do you know what is the most absurd about it? I only realized i wasn't in love to begin with, when finding her with her boss in our bed ...didn't even really hurt me that much.
I shot up from the bed, looking at him laying one hand behind his head on the other side of the matress.
-Jesus i am so so sorry. I shouldn't have asked. Jesus, and i'm a fucking stranger.
-Chill Y/N it's all good, as i said it didn't hurt, i wasn't in love anymore. I guess never being enough just ruined it all huh. - he reminisinced.
-That i can agree with. - i said and now he was the one looking at me with wide eyes.
-You?
-Me.. - i showed him the subtle tan line where my ring supposed to be. - In the office.. with his secretary.
-Was he stupid or just retarded or some shit?
-No why ? - i asked him giggling.
-What the fuck is more attractive than someone with humor, someone who's intelligent and has her own fcking business that she built out of nowhere without the help of daddy or her boyfriend and has awesome personality and is even so fucking beautiful i thought i'd cry????
-Highheels, skimpy lingerie, and red lips i guess..
-Or the fact that you were just too good for him?
I shoved his shoulder lightly before laying down again.
-Dont put me on a pedestal Bucky. - was the last thing i said before falling asleep on his shoulder, holding his arm as if it was a plushie or something.
The next morning I wake up with a headache, and noise and giggles coming from the kitchen. There is something heavy on me that is surely not my blanket. I turn to look slowly as i see a sleeping man. It takes me a moment to realize that it's Bucky, whom i asked to stay. I quickly take a glance under the blanket, only to see all my clothing still on me. Good. Horny- drunk me didn't get the best of me.
I snuck out to find where the noise is coming from. Only to hear whistles and the giggles of the girls.
-Can you keep it down? My head is gonna explode.
-Suuuure, so i assume you have your visa sorted out?
-What are you even talking about Nat? - asked Wanda
- Well my dear.. Buck sure as hell didn't sleep at Steve's last night.
I mentally curse her for suggesting something that did not happen, while Wanda is looking at all of us wide eyed.
-Chill, nothing happened. Drunk old me just needed a good vent session and he happened to be at the wrong place and time.
-Good i still got a chance then. - said Sam with a toothy grin.
-Hey, i brought her home from the airport, i had dibs first. - pouted Steve
-Jesus, no dibs guys. - You laughed as Bucky emerged from your room, then it was his turn to get the whistles.
-So when will you tell us how you got in this town? - Wanda looked at me with big doe eyes.
-I'm not gonna get away with just sulking i gather.. Okay okay... fuck.. i need coffee first.
Then i proceeded to tell them how we got together, and how it ended, about how my family reacted. All of it.
-How are you not crying now? This broke my heart and i known you for a week. - Asked Wanda whispering to me next to the coffeemachine Steve lent me, while looking over the rest of the team on the couch.
-Yea, well.. Someone told me their own story, and i realized it didn't hurt nearly as much as it should cause i was never happy there to begin with. And how could i cry when i suddenly have a cult of friends that break into my apartment while i'm in my room sleeping with a stranger..
