The Blue Umbrella
Her POV [Pt.1]
I have an unhealthy obsession with writing stuff revolving around blue stuff. Go check out my previous fic, ‘Blue Hoodie’ if you can guys! It would mean a lot if you like my fanfictions<3
_______
Warnings\ Not proofread, fem!reader, kinda slow paced sorry but I hope you like this!
“I really should’ve checked the forecast” I mumbled, stranded at the study café, looking at the formerly sunny sky now a dark shade of grey. One moment the Sun was shining brightly, the next moment the clouds started pouring heavily. All I could do was wait for the rain to stop so that I could go home. It wasn’t that I hated rain, it’s my favorite weather. I feel so carefree, all my worries about well… everything are washed away by the rain. Afterwards, the cool breeze and the scent of soil in the air, it’s the most calm and serene feeling I can feel in my life, constantly shadowed by my problems… But, today wasn’t the right day, my sister was finally coming back from her foreign studies and I can’t wait to meet my only friend. My sister was probably the only person I’m close to and can share everything with. My parents often fought, so growing up, my sister was the one responsible for me and always there for me.
I was sitting on one of the tables outside the café, thankfully covered, watching people pass by. Couples were having a stroll together, laughing and sharing an umbrella, I saw a family of four having the time of their life just chatting and enjoying each other’s company. I wish I had someone to share my time with. I wish my family was that happy. Now that my sister was back for a few weeks I would make sure I spent all my time with her. Only problem, I had no way of getting home. Sure, I could run as fast as I could but I would still reach home drenched and catch a cold.
I spotted a group of five friends not far from here. I don’t know why, but I couldn’t help staring at them. There was this one guy in particular who really caught my eye. He looked like he was being left out and not being paid any attention too. He was cute, dark messy hair, and beautiful eyes. It was as if someone stole all the stars from the sky and put them in his eyes. He had a sad smile on his face as he looked down at water droplets falling onto a lone pink tulip at the side of the pavement. I couldn’t help but feel sad, not for him, for me. Well, for him too. I mean, it sucks being ignored by your own friend group or just being left lonely. I mean being alone isn’t that bad, but it isn’t always good either. I felt a tear roll down my cheek… no idea why, kind of did. I knew how that felt.
I felt a light tap on my shoulder; I didn’t realize I had zoned out. I quickly wiped away the few tears that tainted my cheeks. I turned around and… WHAT?! No, like, wasn’t he over there a second ago? The guy from the other side of the road, was here. Right. In front. Of. Me. “Take it.” ,were the only two words he said to me, handing me the umbrella before sprinting away, his bag held on top of his head.
I was left staring at the blue umbrella. He didn’t even know me? Why would he help me? Was he secretly my guardian angel? Did he know I was desperate to go home, or was that feeling masking my face right now, clearly evident to the whole world. Not that anyone would pay attention to me. But then, why did he? The next time I met him again, if I did, I would ask him if it hurt falling from heaven. Okay my thoughts are getting really cheesy for a random stranger with a blue umbrella. Thank you… whoever you are.
I shook my thoughts away and shrugged. I got an umbrella, isn’t that what I wanted? I made my way back home, walking through the silent streets.
“Mom, Dad, I’m home!” I announced as I took of my shoes and put them on the shoe rack to dry off. “Y/n! Where were you?” I heard a familiar voice call out as I heard footsteps rush towards me. I almost started crying at the sight of her. My sister was back! She rushed to hug me and engulfed me in bear hug. “Aww you’ve grown up y/n!” “I missed you so much! Sorry I’m late, I was stranded at the study café. Where are mom and dad?” I asked. I shouldn’t have. Melisa flashed me an awkward smile “Uhm in the kitchen but we can just go chill in my room. I set up a movie night for us!” “Are they… arguing again?” “Don’t worry about it y/n… you know how they are…” I frowned but I was used to it. Most of the time when I reached home I would only be welcomed by silence or the occasional noises from the kitchen or living room where my parents were arguing over just about whatever topic they can. I’m probably invisible and only appear when they need something to argue on or someone to scold if the other one is not at home. I missed Melisa so much, it’s a pity she’s 5 years older than me so she left home for foreign studies and well… found a job there and she’s probably going to settle there.
As we made our way over to the stairs I heard shouting from the kitchen. I heard my name.
“IF IT WEREN’T FOR YOU MELISA WOULDN’T HAVE HAD TO RAISE Y/N!”
“ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY I WASN’T A GOOD MOTHER? HOW WERE YOU ANY BETTER?”
“I EARN THE MONEY WE PAY FOR HER SCHOOL. I EARN THE MONEY THIS HOUSE WORKS ON. WHAT DO YOU DO EXCEPT WORKING AS A WAITRESS AT THAT OLD RESTAURANT?”
“STOP QUESTIONING MY WORTH! I DO WHAT I CAN! YOUR LIFE WOULD BE CHAOS WITHOUT ME! YOU CAN’T EVEN COOK ONE MEAL IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT”
“I WISH I COULD LEAVE YOU BUT I NEED TO STAY FOR Y/N”
“LEAVE IF YOU WANT! YOU DON’T EVEN CARE FOR OUR DAUGHTER!”
“NOT LIKE YOU DO!!”
I looked at my sister with tears starting to form in my eyes. “M-Mel.. they’re going to separate? Where will I go…? Why is our family broken?”
“shh it’s okay y/n I’m here for you. I know this is tough, especially hearing them argue over you and say all that mean stuff. But you’ve stayed strong for so long… you’ll go to college soon and you’ll be able to have a better life, yeah? If I could I would take you with me but you know our parents would probably get really mad over that and stay that we’re being ungrateful and stuff like that.” She looked down. “I’m sorry y/n” I hugged her “Don’t be. None of this is our fault. W-what movie are we going to watch?” I asked, trying to switch to another topic and a better atmosphere. She wouldn’t stay for long, I had to make most of the time we had. “Your favorite~” “OMG ARE WE WATCHING (your favorite movie/show) AAA THANKYOU!” “Look at you being all excited. Why are you still holding onto that umbrella? Wait, where did you get that?” oh. Oh. OHH. “Oh uhm… so… as you know, it’s raining heavily! I was at the study café and it started raining cats and dogs. And it’s not like I could run all the way home without getting drenched and catching a cold so I just sat there doing people-watching and stuff and I saw a group of friends just chilling you know? And there was this boy, with sparkling, chocolate brown eyes and fluffy, dark hair. Is that the right adjective? He was kind of secluded and had a faint, sorrowful, smile on his face but it was pretty oh and-“
“Okay sis I get it. You’re in love with a stranger. Did you talk to him? What’s his name? Did he lend you this? Spill the tea!”
“No I’m not! I just found him cute and attractive and kind of noticeable because I could relate to that feeling. And no, I did not talk to him so I don’t know his name. And yes, he has lend this umbrella to me. He just appeared in front of me out of no where and told me to take the umbrella, handing it to me. Then, he ran away. What was that about?” I rolled my eyes. “An introduction wouldn’t have hurt!”
“Okay y/n don’t admit your crush. I won’t force you”
“I said it’s not a crush!”
“Oh but it is! My sister is in love~” Saying that she ran into her room and I chased after her. We both collapsed onto her bed in a fit of laughter. I missed her so much. How many times am I going to say that?

A/n>>> Okay so I know Leo didn’t really make an appearance in this but as I mentioned, this will be kind of slow paced… mostly because I’m not getting ideas to fit in the middle of the few ideas I already have and my exams are going on. I had an exam today also (the day im posting this) and after this, two exams are left, and these subjects are as tough as maths so I’m probably not going to write any sequel parts this week.
Also, I was originally writing this for Percy, hence blue umbrella, but Leo has literally stolen my heart since the day I read the lost hero so there is no way I wouldn’t write a fic for him and this is the only idea I have right now
Im going to  post a leo pov too by the way! And im writing a long luke castellan mafia ff thing I started a long time back so expect a lot of new posts in march! Or not. Most probably yes.
ALSO IM STARTING A TAG LIST IF ANYONE WANTS TO BE ADDED PLEASE TELL, THANKYOUU<3

lmao I just finished defending an artist who got dragged into negativity unnecessarily simply because he drew Jason as a volleyball captain instead of Percy in an AU.
The comment was basically whining that Jason shouldn't have been better at volleyball than Percy, and that Percy should've been drawn as captain. Can y'all obsessive Percy fans/Jason antis stop pushing your opinion onto other people for once and make them uncomfortable? Like womp womp, Jason can be better at stuff than Percy, stop projecting your hatred onto him, Percy doesn't need to be good at everything, well, Unless you want him to be an invincible, one dimensional, all mighty Gary Stu who is the only one who can shine. It's giving a cartoon hero with all the plot armour and powers. Y'all r ruining canon Percy's depth with this aswell by giving him no minor flaw. But That's on you.
They're fictional characters for fucks sake, leave artists alone, stop coming into their page and tell them what to do or how to imagine a character. That's like going into someone's house and telling them to change the interiors. Get a life.
The percy obsession coming at the expense of disrespecting others, artists, specifically for having contrary opinions is seriously going to be the downfall of this fandom, y'all are going to drive ppl away with this bashing, and it better fucking stop.
Either appreciate their art, which they spent hours for, or go cry elsewhere, stop killing their mood and vibe with baseless opposing opinions when all they want to do is share their work and headcanons. It doesn't contribute a thing.

Helpless part 13 (Hello I hope someone is listening)
"Morning Death boy."
"What time is it?"
"Eight o'clock I the morning."
"Goodnight Giraffe."
"Get up, we're getting breakfast."
"Let me sleep."
"Nope." Nico was refusing to get up so Will decided to do the only logical thing and pick him up.
"Put me down Solace."
"Don't think I will Death breath."
"That's a new one."
"Thought of it on the spot."
"Good for you Sunshine, now put me down."
"Not a fan of that idea." Will ran, carrying a very pissed Nico. "Hey Percy."
"Hi Will, should I ask why you're carrying Nico and also how you haven't gotten murdered yet?"
"Well he wouldn't get up so it was to only logical solution."
"Fuck you." Nico muttered,
"I wish you luck on not getting murdered."
"You know I could just shadow travel away?"
"No you quite literally can not, it would kill you."
"Great."
"Neeks."
"Do you have a death wish Will?"
"He's harmless."
"I have killed people William."
"I can confirm this, I was nearly a victim."
"Let's not forget you also tired to kill me."
"Why are you two trying to kill each other?"
"We don't talk about that."
"He's annoying as fuck." Percy and Nico said at the same time, locking eyes with each other, leading to a mildly concerned Will.
"Okay.... I'm going to pretend this never happen." Will placed Nico on the floor.
"Finally."
"Di Angelo, me and Jason-"
"-Jason and I."
"Not you to, same thing. We have decided to kidnap you, you're finally joining us on the big three table."
"Why exactly?"
"You'll get lonely."
"I'm perfectly fine being alone."
"Too bad, sucks for you."
"Stronzo." Nico muttered under his breath before waking off to join Jason, Percy went to follow him but Will pulled him back.
"Make sure he eats three full meals a day, shove it down his throat if you have to. I'm not joking, if he's refusing to eat or drink hold him down and make sure he eats for the next few months. I don't know how he's still alive at this point."
"I'll make sure he eats; mate you alright? Your eyes are bloodshot, when's the last time you slept?"
"A few days ago, I'm fine."
"A few days?! Mate, you need to sleep."
"I'll survive, pure chaos in the infirmary. Oh, don't tell Nico this but, you know how Aphrodite kids can speak French because it's the language of love? I can speak Itallian because it's the language of music, so if you were wondering, when he walked off he called you an asshole."
"Eh, not surprising. I'll catch you around Will."
"Yeah see you round." Willl walked off to join his siblings at the Apollo table.
***
"Don't think we didn't hear that, you're taking today off and no night watch until Tuesday." Kayla said pulling Will down and shoving a piece of toast in his hand, "And you're eating breakfast today, you've skipped it for a week."
"I've been busy."
"Would you like me to show you a list of every single person you've told to stop skipping meals? Let me start the list, Nico, Selina, Leo, Beckendorf, Annabeth, Michael-"
"Okay, okay you win. But I can't take the day off-"
"Not optional, go pine over Nico for the day or something. Maybe even, you know, sleep? Can't remember the last time you did that, more than a week."
"Oh shut up."
"Actually, I have a great idea." Austin interrupted, "Go talk to Cecil and Lou Ellen, they tired to kidnap you many, many times."
"Shit, yeah I should probably go talk to them." Will tried to get up but was held down by his younger siblings,
"Not so fast, you're still eating breakfast." After being force fed three full plates and swearing on the river of Styx that he would get eight hours of sleep that night he was finally allowed to leave.
***
"Finally, we missed you. We've been waiting for you to get off work for the past week." Lou Ellen said punching him in the arm.
"I should probably tell my siblings the kidnapping's off..."
"The what?!"
"Well me and Cecil tried, but Kayla found out we were coming and stopped us."
"So then I thought if I got the rest of the Hermes kids in on it they couldn't stop all of us."
"Of course you did."
"Well you're always in the infirmary."
"I've been busy for a few days, that's all."
"Well I know you haven't slept properly for the last eight days, and that you always insist on taking night watch."
"And anything difficult, and Nico."
"So? I'm fine, just busy."
"You're overworking."
"No I'm not."
"Will when was the last time you took a break?"
"Last year, Michael and Lee's funeral, I took half a day off."
"You can't do that to yourself."
"I can't let Kayla and Austin burn themselves out."
"Gods, I can't do this right now. I'm going to trust your siblings to talk some sense into you; want to go steal something?"
"I'm down, we just need to be back by three. In time for the thing." Lou Ellen smirked,
"Ohh rightttt."
"What did you do?!"
"You'll find out Sun boy."
"I'm scared."
"You should be."

Hate Love
Pairing - Leo Valdez x reader / sort of enemies to lovers?
Prompt n1 - “You can tell me that you hate me, but that doesn’t make it true.”
You didn't know how the fight started. Maybe like all the other fights with Leo started. Maybe it was over the burnt diner that was sitting on the kitchen counter of the Argos, or the fact that he accidentally left one of his tools on the floor of the hallway heading toward your room.
But now you were fully giving him the cold shoulder, refusing to talk to him.
And it's not like Leo even wanted to talk to you. Because he knew that if he did, you would snap at him and make him accidentally burn something again.
"You guys should really talk this out." Percy finished his piece of toast as he admired the view from atop the clouds. He wiped his hands on his jeans and turned back towards the inside of the boat to see Leo focused on one of his new creations.
"I don't want to."
"Why?"
"B- Because he's annoying." You huffed.
"Hmm" Percy looked up and smiled a bit, knowing very well what was going on.
"I still think you should talk to him."
"Not going to happen, Jackson"
~
After that wonderful conversation you had with Percy, it had given him an idea.
After rigorous planning with the help of Annabeth and Hazel, they managed to both shove you into a room and lock the door, leaving the two of you with a:
'we will lock you out when you stop being mad at each other and start getting along'
You wanted to punch each and everyone one of them, and so did Leo.
You sat in silence, you didn't know if it was a fight for who would speak up first. Who would break the silence and be the weaker one. Or maybe it wasn't a silent contest, you just liked sulking in your own anger.
"Why do we always fight?" He asked, in a poor attempt to try and get yourselves out of this room.
You didn't reply.
"I mean, we always do. Like over everything-"
"Leo if you keep talking im going to shove one of your hammers down your throat."
"See! Why?"
"Because you make my skin crawl, Leo. I- You- You're always so just- infuriating!" Your face started flushing when you met his eyes, and you had to tear yourself away to stop blushing, trying to calm your heart down.
He seemed to have spotted that and smirked a bit.
"I hate you!" The words made Leo smirk even more rather than feel more offended. Somehow all your interactions made sense. You liked him, but you didn't know how to tell him or couldn't accept it maybe.
“You can tell me that you hate me, but that doesn’t make it true.”
"Sorry?" You blinked.
"You say that you hate me, but do you really?" You blinked. "Because I think you like me." He stepped closer to you and pointed to your chest. "I think you like me and don't know how to tell me."
You felt the walls you had put up ever since you met him about to crumble. Leo's face was inches from yours, waiting for your answer. You felt trapped between the walls of this room and him, holding your breath as you tried to stutter something out.
But you didn't have time to do so, because instead Leo took every word away from you and placed a hand to your cheek before leaning in.
He paused for a second, admiring how you held your breath, anticipating the kiss. He smirked a bit before making the move to kiss you.
And not to his surprise, you kissed him back.

My gift to @daisy-bugs for the @pjo-equinox-solstice-exchange! Ngl I’m not actually sure I need to post this because I had awful wifi for a couple days so I forgot there was a check-in, but I wrote it anyway and I’m going to assume that I should
The only character listed that I didn’t include was Leo, and I did my best to give it a happy ending. I also posted it on Ao3 (registered users only) if you want to read it there. Hope you enjoy!
Nico left the campfire early. He was too exhausted to socialise tonight.
Thankfully, Will was nowhere to be seen, and thus wasn’t present to strongarm him into the infirmary. He instead walked across the greenery to Cabin Thirteen, a gloomy and foreboding building with a pair of black fire torches burning beside the entrance. This wasn’t anywhere near the first time Nico had seen his cabin - he’d slept here at least twenty times since the second Titan War - but he still didn’t really know how to feel about it.
It always felt like it was made for someone else. Like he was intruding in someone else’s house. The inside was too quiet, too pristine, too untouched. Once, he tried messing up the blankets in all the beds to try and make it feel more lived in, but he felt even worse afterwards and ended up fixing them immediately. It was the closest place he had to a home but it still felt… off. He was definitely thankful for the nights of sleep it had given him, but most of the time he shadow travels here and immediately passes out. He doesn’t linger like he’s doing now.
He finds it doesn’t feel quite so alien anymore. It doesn’t feel like he’s trespassing, it feels like he’s finally allowed to be here.
From the outside it was a tall, imposing building, lit with torches of black fire and constructed from marble, concrete and obsidian. It had, both inside and out, accents of gold, silver, hematite, onyx, jet and black tourmaline. Its windows were few and far between, stained dark purple and lined with empty plant boxes, dark curtains drawn over them.
The inside was just as dreary. It had a dozen or so beds, each lined with drapes to separate them from the cabin at large. They all had drawers beneath them and a desk beside them. The far wall was covered in empty bookcases.
In the middle of the cabin there was a dip in the floor, a few steps leading down to an impression lined with cushions and furs and rugs. There was a trapdoor in the centre of the nook, half hidden by a loose blanket. The edges of the impression had plant boxes cut into the floor, filled with soil and covered in blooming plants. A gift from Persephone, no doubt.
Upon closer inspection, each of the plants were labeled with a folded piece of paper half embedded in the soil, which also listed watering instructions and sunlight requirements. Unless someone else had been in here taking care of them the notes were entirely unnecessary. Grey asphodel, red anemone, poppies, and moonflower. One of the plant beds was empty, with only a note that read ‘dandelions, perhaps?’
Nico really hated Persephone.
The flowers glittered like crystals in stark contrast to the otherwise gloomy interior. Though that could be blamed more on the lighting than the plants themselves. Above the nook was a skylight cut into the sloped ceiling, a glass window with an intricate pattern that was stained every colour of the rainbow. It fell across the nook and plants in a rolling fountain of light, glowing like a hoard of gems and dousing the rest of the cabin in colour.
It gave Nico a headache. He went and sat on the edge of the bed he always slept in which, like all the others, resembled a coffin. Polished mahogany frame, brass railing, blood red pillows and blankets. Apparently whoever designed this place thought children of Hades were vampires.
The mattress was soft. The blankets were fluffy. The pillows were smooth. It was the nicest bed he’d had for as long as he could remember.
The bedside drawer had a few of his tokens inside: Bianca’s hat, her sketchbook, his Lotus Hotel credit card, his Mythomagic cards and his figurines, including the one Bianca died for. He’d checked on everything the day he went to Tartarus, and he checked it again now. Everything was as he left it.
Nico took off his sword belt, shoes and socks. He slid under the blanket still wearing the rest of his clothes. He would need to move quickly if they were attacked in the night, having to change would just slow him down. Besides, he didn’t own pyjamas, unless the beds’ drawers came pre-stocked with complimentary clothes.
He didn’t bother checking. He arranged himself into a comfortable position, making sure it didn’t strain his shoulder, and closed his eyes.
He opened them five seconds later.
Nothing was on fire. There was no blood. No bodies. No monsters. No gods of misery intending to torment his soul for the rest of time.
No threats. Nothing dangerous.
Nico closed his eyes.
He adjusted the blanket a minute later. After five he shoved a pillow under his chest. He tried laying on his side, his stomach, his back, but the mattress was too soft and comfortable to relax. The blanket started feeling like it was trying to swallow him whole, so he kicked it away. Before even twenty minutes have passed the pillows join it.
Nico finds himself surveying the rest of the cabin. Like the last time he was here, there’s a thin layer of dust over almost everything, as it had been left relatively alone after construction finished. That’s good, if any enemies decide to spy on him during the night their footsteps would be obvious. There isn’t anything for them to hide behind except the other beds, the impression, and maybe the drapes or curtains.
It was starting to get really cold, so Nico grabbed the blanket again. It’s too warm, too fluffy. Too nice.
After around twenty minutes of staring at the rest of the cabin Nico tried closing the drapes. It’s almost good, the way they shield him away from the rest of the world, but it’s too claustrophobic. He felt closed in, trapped, and knowing that if the cabin was attacked he wouldn’t see the threat makes it all the worse.
He shoved them back immediately, before slinking back to the bed and sitting on it cross legged. He pulled the blanket over his back and let his brain trick itself into thinking it would protect him. The mattress dipped under his weight. It’s too soft, like a marshmallow. Nico felt like it would swallow him if he made a wrong move.
He moved back, managing to not be smothered by a mattress, and leaned his back against the wall. It’s smooth, cold. Perfectly straight and even. It’s easy not to mistake it for the walls of the jar.
Nico tried closing his eyes again. He gives up after five minutes. Where was Hazel? Surely the campfire wasn’t going to last that long. Did something happen to her? He should go out and check -
No, Nico, now is not the time to be an overprotective brother, he chastised himself. Hazel’s earned herself some freedom, she didn’t need an overbearing brother now of all times. She can take care of herself. She’s fine. If camp was attacked he would hear it. If someone died he would feel it.
Unless they attacked in the night. After midnight maybe, once everyone was asleep. They could waltz right into camp and slit everyones’ throats and Nico would be none the wiser. Sure the sheer number of deaths might wake him up, but if the enemy knew that they would kill him first. They’d waltz into the cabin, right up to his bed, and slit his throat or suffocate him so he wouldn’t ruin -
Nico sprang to his feet and began pacing around the nook.
Maybe the infirmary had some melatonin. No, if Will was there he’d force him to spend the night thanks to that ridiculous ‘three nights’ idea Nico agreed to. He wanted to delay that for as long as possible. Besides, then he wouldn’t know if Hazel was still okay. And he’s pretty sure antiseptic and blood wouldn’t be the nicest smell to surround himself with if he’s trying to fall asleep.
But he wasn’t trying to fall asleep, was he?
Nico stopped walking in circles. The fluffy red blanket trailed behind him, collecting dust. Great, there goes his footprints plan.
His eyes caught on the trapdoor in the centre of the nook. What’s underneath it? That might be a good place for monsters to hide.
Nico began descending the stairs only to trip on the last one. He caught himself on his hands with a wince. Maybe he was more tired than he thought.
Oh, yeah, he’s definitely tired. When he blinks it takes him a second or two to open his eyes. That’s not good - he had to be alert.
Nico’s in the middle of lifting up the trapdoor when he remembered the camp’s magical borders would stop any monsters from entering.
That wouldn’t stop any Romans that weren’t fond of the truce. Either way, too late now. He might as well check.
He lifted the trapdoor the rest of the way, squinting into the darkness. A thin flight of stairs descended into a large mostly empty room, lined with shelves and counters and drawers. It looked like a kitchen.
There was a circle of dirt cut into the otherwise stone floor, with an abandoned shovel on top of it. Ah, a setup for spirit summoning. That might be useful. He could check in the morning if the Physician’s Cure worked on Leo.
He hoped it did.
Maybe he should check tonight.
No. If he checks then it becomes real. Then he has to acknowledge it happened. He has to face reality for what it is, even if the reality is that Leo was dead and wasn’t coming back.
If that’s the reality, he’d quite significantly prefer to wait until morning.
Nico closed and leaned away from the trapdoor with a sigh. He’d also prefer to sleep until morning.
Well. That what the others would want him to say, anyway. He’d much rather be alert when they’re inevitably attacked by all the people that promised Gaia aid.
Just then, the door opened. Nico bolted upright and watched Hazel enter, looking exhausted and grief-ridden. She paused in the doorway and looked at Nico. “Can Frank sleep over?”
Her voice shouldn’t be as emotionless as it was. It sounded flat, blank and free of inflection. Nico nodded silently and Frank poked his head in.
They both walked over to the nook and joined him inside, tucking themselves beneath the same blanket and huddling together against the pillows. Something in Nico’s chest eased at their presence. He found it easier to relax now he knew Hazel had not, in fact, been stabbed, mauled, burnt or otherwise attacked.
He was a little frightened by how much he cared about her. Most people he cared about either hated him or died.
He wondered if this is how Bianca used to feel.
He pulled his blanket tighter around himself, leaning against a pillow and making sure he could still see the door and his sister. He forced his muscles to relax - which felt like an oxymoron if there was one - and tried to keep his eyes closed for more than five seconds. He failed miserably of course, but he felt this could be expected. His eyes kept wandering over to Hazel, like he expected her to spontaneously burst into flames. When had he grown so protective of her?
Part of him thinks he always was, that he latched on the second he saw her shade wandering around. Or maybe it was later, when he saw how differently the Legion treated her despite Reyna’s efforts. Maybe it was when he first started comparing her treatment to his own. Maybe it was when he first started helping her get a hold of her powers. Maybe it was when his tongue first slipped and he called her Bianca. Maybe it didn’t matter.
There was a knock on the door, and someone poked their head in. It was Percy and Annabeth. Percy looked apprehensive, like he expected Nico to stab him the second he opened the door, which wasn’t an entirely unreasonable assumption. It was Annabeth that spoke. “Hello? Sorry, we saw Frank and Hazel come in here. We were wondering if we could sleep over.”
Hazel smiled, cheeks dimpling. She and Nico said “Sure” at the same time.
Nico silently resigned himself to keeping as far away as possible. Thankfully Percy seemed to be on the same page, and he and Annabeth laid down on the far side of the nook.
Nico stared up at the stained glass skylight. Mostly to avoid looking at Percy. The moon and stars shone pinpricks of multicoloured light down around them, like a rainbow had shattered and left pockets of colour floating through the air. It felt oddly serene, like it was actually Iris or some other god laying their protection over them. He couldn’t understand how something associated with his father could be so beautiful.
(Well, aside from Persephone, but she was a bitch.)
He didn’t know colours could be so comforting.
The pinpricks of light shone on Percy like a sunset reflecting off the shore. The ones over Annabeth were warm and soft, like books and blankets and stuffed animals. Hazel’s glittered like a hundred different gems, like she was surrounded by wealth and beauty and yet the thing she gravitated towards most was Frank, whose lights shone like lanterns reflecting off a cat’s eye, like the glint of teeth and the edge of a shield.
Frank was sleeping as a human for once. Nico was pretty sure he preferred to sleep as a bulldog. He and Hazel were curled loosely around each other, a fluffy blanket tucked up to their chins. Frank seemed to have fallen into a fitful rest but Hazel was still awake, blinking open her eyes every few seconds to take stock of her surroundings. Percy and Annabeth were in much the same boat, though Percy was determinedly pretending to be asleep, like he could manage to trick his own body. Annabeth’s eyes were closed and she was tucked into Percy’s chest. The only sign she was awake was her hand slowly spinning the beads on her necklace.
Nico adjusted his blanket again. It didn’t feel like it was suffocating him anymore. He was just uncomfortable enough to be able to relax.
That didn’t stop his entire body from tensing as someone else knocked on the door.
Reyna poked her head in, and he slumped back over in relief. Reyna was amused by that if the tone of her voice was anything to go by, “I see you’re still awake. Mind if I join the sleepover?”
“Sure,” Nico told her quietly. She looked even more exhausted than Percy, but also more put-together.
She didn’t waste any time before entering, quietly closing the door behind her two automatons, who both stationed themselves by the stairs to the nook like a pair of guardian angels. Reyna had already removed her armour but Nico didn’t doubt she had at least one concealed weapon. She grabbed a particularly soft looking fur and lay down near Nico.
Nico found himself relaxing at her presence. He felt safer around her. She’s proved that she would fight to protect them, she trusted him. And with her dogs standing guard no one would be able to sneak up on them.
It was easier now to actually try to sleep, rather than pretending to. He still felt his eyes drifting open to look at the door or study the others. He tried to remind himself that the dog automatons would wake them up the second they heard any danger. It did little to steady the beat of his heart.
He tried counting. Supposedly, that was meant to help. He managed to count to forty before he abandoned that, and instead started counting his breath, making each inhale deep and every exhale slow.
Time dragged on, slow and mulish, and it was Reyna who broke it. “You’re not in danger, you know,” she said quietly. She was giving him that knowing look. Like she could see past his skin and flesh and bones and was studying his very soul.
Nico doubted his soul would be as interesting as she made it seem. “Feels like I am.”
“Well your feelings are lying to you,” Reyna whispered. “The camp borders keep out monsters. Peleus keeps guard against anything stupid enough to attack it.”
“Are you calling your own army stupid?”
“I’m calling Octavian stupid,” she said with a sly grin. “Thankfully he isn’t around to stir up trouble anymore. The Romans are all happy with the truce. The giants are all dead by the sounds of it. If something happens, if anyone is attacked, someone else will be there to help and we’ll be woken up in no time.”
Despite making these same arguments to himself only an hour beforehand, it felt truer coming from her. Her voice held warm certainty and steely resolve, like the gods themselves had told her her words were true. Like she couldn’t imagine she could be wrong, and even if she was they’d be all right.
Nico found himself believing her.
“Why are you sleeping in this cabin and not with the Legion?”
Reyna tilted her head away from him, staring up at the stained glass. “To be honest? I wanted to make sure you’re safe. I was worried your powers were hurting you again. I needed to make sure that if you went shadowy again I’d be there to help. That you’d still be safe.”
Nico smiled eyed drifting shut. “Thank you, Reyna.”
She smiled as well. “Thank you for letting me protect you.”
(And she was right, in the end. When he woke up in the morning, finding that Jason and Piper had also made their way into his cabin, everything was fine. He had a home, and he was safe there.)

Have u considered maybe writing fam fiction? Your pjo incorrect quotes are really good though
I have thought about writing fan fiction (mostly pjo) but idk if everyone would like it because I have seen some really good content on this app and idk if I would be able to compete with it?? But at the same time it's not really a competition? Also thank you so much for the compliment :) it really means a lot to me.

Nico was sneaking out of his dorm. He wanted some cookies and hoped that if he snuck into the school's kitchen there would be some. He made it out of his dorm and was sneaking along the school's dark hallway which was surprisingly easy for him.
He had to go near the girls hallway to get to the kitchen. When he went near Bianca's door she opened like she was waiting for him. His eyes widened and he froze in front of the door.
“Nico” she raised an eyebrow and put a hand on her hip. “Bianca” He smiled up at her with puppy dog eyes hoping to not get in trouble with her. She grabbed his arm and drug him into her room.
“Why are you up? Are you ok?” She fussed over him to make sure he was fine. Even though she knew he was sneaking to do something he was still her brother.
“Yes I'm fine, I just wanted cookies. How did you know I would be by your door?” He flopped down on her bed and stared at the little stars she put on the roof.
“I just knew you must be doing something”
“What's that supposed to mean? Are you accusing me of sneaking out and causing problems every night?” Before she could reply he continued “Because if so you're wrong i only sneak out to see you”
She raised her eyebrow again “You mean you sneak out to make me play Mythomagic with you”
“That too”
She laughed and said “You said something about cookies yeah?”. He nodded
“We can sneak into the kitchen this time only alright?”
Nicos eyes grew and he quickly nodded and got up from the bed.
She opened the door for them and shut it behind her. “Remember to be quiet” she whispered and they walked along the hallway to the kitchen.
They finally made it to the kitchen. They stayed near the door for a few minutes making sure they couldn't hear anything inside.
Bianca went first and opened the door. She shut it behind both of them and walked into the room.
There was a table in the middle of the room for some reason but Nico didn't question it and quickly went searching in the cabinets for the cookies they gave for lunch.
Bianca searched too but tried to be quiet unlike Nico. He finally found two bags of the cookies and whisper yelled “Yes!”
“Shh!” Bianca said but smiled at how happy he looked.
“What?? I whispered didn't i?”
She laughed and they both moved towards the table to sit. They sat on opposite sides. Nico slid over one bag while he opened his own. They both started eating when Nico took out one of his Mythomagic figurines and started playing with it.
Bianca smiled at him. It was times like these that made her grateful to have a brother. They ate the rest of the cookies and went back to their dorms happy.
A few days later there would be a new student named Grover who joined the school.

Okay, so they might not have fully thought their plan through.
Really, who would’ve guessed that shadow-traveling to Will’s house would be problematic? If Nico had missed and passed out somewhere in the greater Austin region Will could have just sat with him until he woke, but nope. Nico pinpointed Will’s house exactly on his first try, landing the two of them right in the middle of Will’s living room. Which, again, would have been no problem if Will had actually been able to tell his mom they were coming.
Naomi Solace screamed and nearly jumped out of her skin, spilling cereal all over her pajamas as she shot up from the couch and instinctively chucked a bowl at Will’s head.
Will dodged the bowl. “Hi, Mom!” he greeted cheerfully.

I don’t know if anyone else will care about this, but I’ve been rolling an idea for an Riorden-verse AU in my head and I thought you guys might like it?
So the idea is that basically Annabeth Chase has a permanent facial disfigurement (because I think we need more representation in that area for heroes, not just villains).
This AU would come in two different variants, depending on the fact that i’ve already written one of these and I’m currently going to start writing the second one, The Scar (which is mostly about Luke parallels) and The Poison/Acid Scars (which is mostly Percabeth angst).
So yeah, I’m not sure if any of you guys would be interested in reading any of those? 🤷‍♀️

With the Percy Jackson series coming out soon, I thought to read the book series again. I'm on the third book The Titan's Curse. Where Nico di Angelo is first introduced. It reminded me of an additional chapter I made for the last book from the second series The Blood of Olympus. I'm not much into writing fan fiction, but I always felt Nico deserved a happy ending. I wrote it back in 2014.
NICO
He never excepted so many questions. Nico felt like a weight was lifted from his shoulders when he finally told Percy that he had had a crush on him. But for four days, Percy wouldn't leave him alone. Percy kept asking questions. Nico did his best to ignore them or if he saw Percy he would hide. "But what do you mean I wasn't your type? Dude! We've been friends for a long time! Why did you never tell me! Is this why you pulling away from everyone? Was this my fault?!" Impressed that Percy could still breathe. Nico pinched the bridge of his nose and exhaled loudly. "Percy, it doesn't matter if you were my type or not, it would never have worked, besides you HAVE ANNABETH! Can we please drop this?"
He walked away fast, hoping Percy wasn't following. He had to find Annabeth, if anyone could control Percy it was her, he wandered around the camp, until he spotted her in front of Athena's cabin.
"Oh my gods! Annabeth, I need your help with Percy." "What's he doing now?" "He won't stop asking me questions, I'm ready to slug him." Annabeth fell over laughing, "well I think you dented his ego a bit with that "You weren't my type" comment." "Can you please stop laughing, this is serious." Nico felt childish for doing so, but he stuck his tongue out at her. "Fine," she tried to catch her breath, "I'll see what I can do." "Thank you!" He looked at his watch, "Dang, I'm late. Talk to you later Annabeth."
Nico ran as fast as he could to the infirmary, he stopped for a moment outside the door to catch his breath. As he walked in, a large number of demigods greeted him, there were still a few that looked nervous around him, and he couldn't blame them. It didn't bother him, he just kept walking to the back of the cabin. "Well look who it is, the son of Hades himself." A blonde hair guy stood up straight, after examining a broken arm. "Glad you could join us." "I'm sorry, I had to ask Annabeth for help with Percy, he won't stop questioning me." Damn, Nico thought, too much information. Will Solace gave him a questioning look, "Oh, what is he asking?" "Um, nevermind that." Nico tried to think fast, "uh, is there anything I can assist you with today?" "Hmm, well actually yes, thank you for asking." Will seemed to have dropped the subject. "We keep running out of bandages, could you please cut us more? Everyone is healing fast, but there are still a lot of injuries." He walked Nico over to a small desk, held out the supply of bandage rolls and scissors.
The days kept on like this, with any free time they had, Nico and Will would hangout near Thalia's tree, and look to Camp Half-Blood, just talking, joking, and laughing. Nico finally felt like he belonged, he had friends, actual friends, not kids just pretending to be nice. Percy seemed to have finally let the questions go and they could all have normal conversations. When Nico was alone, he would design the new interior of his cabin, brightened it up.
Everything was going relatively well for a month after the war with Gaea, but Nico knew happiness only lasted so long for children of the Underworld, and was worrying about when this would end. Nico and Will sat in their usual spot, not saying anything, just relaxing. Nico slipped into deep thought, his realization that even with how nice it was being friends with Will Solace, he would never be truly happy because the friendship wouldn't go anything further. "What's wrong?" Will knew when there was something wrong. "Hmm, sorry. I was just thinking." "What about?" "Nothing, we're cool." Nico was hoping the matter wouldn't press on. "Dude, I'm like almost your best friend now, right?" Will smiled Damn, no such luck, Nico thought, he hesitated, "ye-yes?" "Well then you should be able to tell me anything, am I right?" His blue eyes pierced into Nico's soul, so much concern, Nico wasn't used to it. "I'm just," Nico paused, "afraid that what I say, might lose you as a friend, and I don't want that." "Please just tell me, I promise you'll still have me as a friend," Will reassured. Ugh, stubborn demigod, Nico thought. He took a deep breath. "I like you." Nico took a moment before he looked at Will's reaction. Will laughed, "I like you too." Ugh, Nico dreaded this moment, he's kept himself from saying the word. But it made conversations like this hard, he never wanted to be so different from the other demigods, but this and being a son of Hades was just cruel. Nico took another deep breath and the words came out so fast that he couldn't stop himself. "No, I mean I like, like you. Like how Percy and Annabeth are, and this past month has been great, and I'm glad we are friends, but I'm sad that it will never go any further than this, and with me saying all this, I just don't want to lose-" Nico was interrupted by Will kissing him. Once Will pulled away Nico just sat there, frozen, silent, and wide-eyed. No words came to mind. Will laughed. "I told you like you too." "I, I, uh, okay," Nico's brain hadn't fully restarted yet, "Um, that uh, was um, not, the um reaction, I was, um, excepting." Will grabbed Nico's face, "di Angelo." Nico couldn't stop staring into those blue eyes, "yes?" His voice cracked "Shut up." Will leaned once more and they kissed again.

Time for Helpless part 11 peeps
"You feeling okay?"
"I'm fine." Nico responded more trying to convince himself over Will, he just hoped that Will would leave quickly. He managed to eat half a sandwich but he knew that it would only be minutes before he couldn't control it anymore and would throw up.
"Shit sorry Nico, Kayla wanted to talk to me, I'll be back after lunch. Something about scheduling I don't even know at this point."
"Okay." Will walked out of the infirmary and Nico silently thanked the Gods before running into the bathroom and throwing up, he washed the bitter taste out of his mouth before quickly cleaning up, it would be fine, Solace didn't need to know. Nico wandered around the room spotting a stack of blank paper, he took a sheet and started to draw with a ballpoint pen. He drew Will, with his so bright it's almost glowing hair, deep eyes that glittered with a kind of brightness only possible for a child of Apollo. The smile he always had, even when the world seemed to be at it's worst, the freckles that covered his face after spending so much time in the sun. Nico knew there was a very high chance Will would walk in soon and see the drawing, he folded it up and placed it in his pocket only a minute before Will walked back in.

"Hey Neeks."
"Do you not have anyone else to annoy?"
"No actually, Kayla and Austin are taking everyone else."
"Great."
"You're stuck with me, probably forever since we have a new system now. Unless it's an emergency everyone takes the same cabins, you can't escape me di Angelo."
"Please kill me now."
"My job is to prevent that."
"Dio mi salvi."
"I do actually need to check some things, can you take off your shirt?"
"No, why!?" Nico blushed,
"I need to check on the stitches."
"Oh, right. Fine." The Apollo boy traced along the cuts with his fingers, checking it hadn't gotten infected and none of the stitches had come out.
"Nico, are you okay? You're ice cold."
"Huh, what? Yeah I'm always cold, not everyone's a heater Sunshine."
"No, like you're colder than normal. You've never been this cold, are you sure you feel fine?"
"Yeah I'm fi-" Nico passes out, Will tries to sing the hymn but it wouldn't work. Of all times for it to not work this might be one of the most inconvenient. He checks the small boys heart rate, it was faster than normal. After about thirty seconds, Nico woke up.
"Don't try to get up quickly; Gods Nico you scared me." Will grabbed a glass of water and a square of ambrosia, handing them both to Nico, except they went right through his right hand. Will was shocked but he tried to keep calm, "Open your mouth." Nico obliged and Will placed the square of ambrosia on his tongue, as he chewed his hand began to turn solid. "Has this ever happened before? Being cold then passing out?" Nico shook his head,
"I didn't feel cold, I just felt normal then yeah."
"How do you feel now?"
"Fine, I just have a headache."
"Drink the water, it'll help." Will sat down next to him, placing a hand over his. "Okay, you're warmer now. Just tell me if you feel sick in any way, alright?" Nico nodded in response,"By the way, we have Jason and Reyna down as your legal guardians, were-"
"Wait what? How and why would Grace and Reyna be my legal guardians exactly?"
"Well we don't count godly parents since they're always hard to contact and they may or may not have threatened me into putting them down as yours."
"And you agreed because?"
"Jason threatened to electrocute me then get Percy to drown me, that didn't sound like much fun. I was going to ask were you aware of that but from that response I'm guessing no?"
"No shit, so what you have to tell them when shit happens to me?"
"Well I need to tell at least one of them and they need to approve on certain things." Nico scowled,
"It's not like they're actually my legal guardians Solace."
"Neeks at this point they are, Jason is probably planning to legally adopt you on his eighteenth birthday."
"Please kill me."
"No can do Death boy."
"What is with you and your obsession with nicknames?"
"You know you love the nicknames, Neeks."
"Perché questo." Nico muttered, Will glanced at the clipboard he was holding.
"Okay so there's so things I need to fill in, I probably should have done that earlier. Anything you've been diagnosed with that I'm not aware of?"
"Don't think so, dyslexia, ADHD, depression, anxiety and PTSD."
"Who do you want as your emergency contacts? Jason and Reyna are already on there."
"Hazel I guess."
"Okay great Hazel and Percy."
"What?"
"Take a guess."
"Oh my Gods they either think I'm their child or hate me, can someone please be fucking normal?" Will smiled and and patted Nico on the head receiving dagger eyes,
"Nope di Angelo. Okay height and weight, take off your shoes." Will was nervous for the results, looking at Nico now he could see all of his rib. "Neeks you're tiny; stand up straight. 5'6" Will patted him on the head.
"Oh shut up Solace, you're a giraffe."
"No, you're just really short."
"Oh fuck you." Nico said stepping on the scale, it read 84 pounds.
"Nico, that's dangerously underweight. Three full meals a day, no exceptions."
"Solace I'm fine, I've survived four and a half years barely eating, I don't need to start now."
"Nico di Angelo, it's an actual miracle you've survived this long. You need to eat, you're alive but just barely. Please...don't die on me, I just want you to be healthy." Will pulled him into a hug, but Nico pushed him away.
"Leave me alone, I've been just fine living like this. If I die so what? No one would care anyways."
"I would care, Reyna would care, Jas-"
"No he wouldn't, I heard him talking about me with Leo and Piper on the Argo II. He voted to leave me to die in that jar. As for you, you barely know me. You'll care for a day and then forget I existed, just leave me alone."
"Nico..." Will went to place his hand on his shoulder but he grabbed it and pushed it away.
"Leave. Me. Alone." Nico with tears in his eyes, "I don't care about any protocol either leave or let me leave."
"Okay Nico." Will said before walking out of the infirmary. Nico fell on the bed, slipped on his T-shirt and cried into his pillow. He wanted to cut, or drink, or smoke but he knew he couldn't do anything stuck in the infirmary. He wanted to shadow travel out but it was the middle of the day, someone would see him. He didn't want to be in the infirmary any longer than he had to, he wanted to get as far away as he could from Will Solace. Him and his blonde hair and blue eyes, that bright smile. Well, I'm doing a good job on pushing him away. Nico thought to himself, the sound of his crying being muffled by the pillow.

Hey does anyone have any fics recommendations about the Camp Jupiter kids learning about some of the crazy stuff Percy did that the camp half-blood kids just kind of treat as normal for him
Notable mentions include:
Beating the god of war in a one on one fight
Waking Typhon
Killing the titan king
Declining godhood
I just kinda want to see everyone having to reset their brains after hearing any one of those four things
