[P1] My Love, I Am Drinking PLeNTy of WAteR
Tumblr media
Lucifer x F!MC
[ Part 1 ] [ Part 2 ]
I can't believe I haven't gotten to drunk Luci. He's so cute when he's tipsy.
[ Story Premise: Lucifer gets wasted on demonus on account of Diavolo (drink responsibly please) and comes home late looking for his favorite human. Lucifer being Lucifer, he manages to get sappy and horny at the same time.
**Part 1 is SFW; Part 2 is NSFW. ]
Wordcount - 955
For once, it’s a quiet night in the House of Lamentation. Mammon had been knocked out on the floor. Leviathan was right next to him, his arm laying over Mammon’s face with his hand still firmly grasped around a controller. You had spread a blanket over them both, being the kind, lovely soul you were. Belphegor sleeps in fetal position hugging his favorite pillow in the corner, his twin awkwardly sitting against the couch with his drooling head slumped against the cushions. Satan snoozes on top of said couch, a book laying over his face, while Asmodeus lays front and center within a nest of pillows, his head resting on Mammon’s blanketed stomach. Evidently, he had moved his head there in the time it had taken you to get a book for yourself.
You check the time and find yourself yawning. 1:31 A.M. It’s about time that you should get some relaxation, although that isn’t entirely possible when you know Lucifer is still out, probably staying up into the wee hours of the night. This was, if he was even planning on sleeping tonight. His habit of getting very little sleep during the workweek was getting worse, to the point where you had to use your pact to make him go to bed.
Stupid stressed idiot. It annoys you just thinking about it. It’s bad enough that he was leaving you to handle his brothers when they got out of control (even if you were more capable of handling them than their tired older brother). Now he’s taking on some new project or something, and he was relapsing into his old habits despite how much you scolded him for it. It was a process, but it was just… Diavolo, why couldn’t he think ahead and realize you needed quality time with him?!
Jingle-jingle. Jangle… Rustle, rustle. Click-click scrape scrape…
“Mmmn? Why won’t it go in?” Speak of the devil.
You lay your book down before you even brought yourself to open it, making your way to the door to greet your idiot. You open the (unlocked) door for him to see the drunk leaning on the doorframe with a silly smile, Barbatos quietly bowing from behind him and leaving.
“Hey there, Beautiful,” he says with a cute little hiccup, and you sigh as you grab him by the arm and drag him inside. “Hehe… Easy, easy, I’ll follow you wherever you want me t’go.”
“Exactly how much did you drink tonight?” you ask, doubting that you’ll get an accurate answer.
“Mmmnn…” he hums before he counts on his fingers and grins at you. “This mush.”
“Lucifer, you can’t drink that much,” you groan as you drag him to the kitchen.
“But Diavolo said it’d be a nice game. I’m fine, sweetie-honey…”
“Nevermind,” you sigh, grabbing a cup and filling it to the brim with water, Lucifer’s jaw resting heavily on your shoulder while he hums an adorable little song. “You’re going to drink this, and you’re going to go to bed.”
“Do I re’lly need t’drink any water?” he complains, wrapping his arms around your waist. “I’ve got everything I need right here.” He rubs his face affectionately against your shoulder.
“Yes, you need to drink water, Lucifer,” you reply, peeling his hands off to turn towards him and hand him the full glass. He pouts at you.
“I don’t want to.” He sticks out his tongue just past his lips, and you raise an eyebrow at him.
“Are… Are you trying to be a brat?”
“‘M not a brat, you’re a brat,” he says petulantly.
“Drink,” you insist.
“Hm… I’ll drink if you give me a kiss.”
“Fine.” You kiss Lucifer on the cheek, only for Lucifer to scoop you up and kiss you on the mouth, spilling the cup of water everywhere, including on both of you. “Now look what you did…”
“Sorry,” he mumbles, kissing all over your face before he comes back to your lips. “Missed you… Did you miss me?” It’s amazing how, despite the fact that Lucifer is clearly wasted, he’s dependably holding up your thighs like you don’t weigh more than a paperweight. Demon privilege… you internally grumble.
“Yes, Lucifer, I missed you, but you’re drunk, and we can cuddle after you’re in bed.”
“Haha… MC missed me,” he giggles to himself, rubbing his flushed cheeks against yours.
“Okay, I’ll cut you a deal. You go to your room while I… use the bathroom,” you say eventually, and Lucifer obligingly lets you back down and kisses you on the forehead.
“Didn’ mean to make you hold it in,” he replies. “But I’ll come looking in ten minutes if you’re not around. I want my cuddles.” You can’t help but chuckle at Lucifer as he spins around and starts swaying in the direction of his bedroom, leaving you with the puddle on the floor and the empty plastic cup rolling around on the floor. Thank Diavolo you had been cautious enough not to use one of the glass ones.
You pick it up, wash it and put it back before you pick out Lucifer’s travel mug and fill it with water so you could avoid him spilling it again. That, and he drank out of the thing like it was compulsory since he perpetually had it filled with coffee.
You make your way upstairs, up towards Lucifer’s room, opening the door to find him picking at his buttons, the top of his chest exposed. He looks up at you and gives you a sweet, welcoming smile.
“There you are. You’re a big liar.”
“Er…” You didn’t think he’d be able to tell you were lying when he was toasted.
“It’s so hot in here,” he complains, still picking at his buttons and undoing them all out of order. It would help if you didn’t keep your fireplace lit all the time, you think as you help him take his vest off. “Mmm… aren’tchu hot too?”

zb1 as date ideas, summer edition ♡
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: zb1 x reader
genre: fluff
warnings:none i think?? idk ive been staring at this for too long. lowercase intended, not proofread
notes: i am well aware i didn't do a winter one,, or a spring one,, but the winter one is in the drafts and now its may and i just had more inspo for this one so maybe next year LOL. anyways i hope you all like these <3 (bonus points if you can guess the song i'm referencing in jiwoongs LOL)
jiwoong ;
"okay close your eyes," you boyfriend jiwoong said, a smile spread across his face as he reached out to grab your hand, leading you past the closed door reading roof access. you obliged, shutting your eyes as you put your trust in the man, feeling the warm summer breeze hit your face. you had lost track of how many steps you'd taken before being prompted to open your eyes.
it was beautiful.
two chairs and a small table had stood in the normally empty spot by the ledge of the roof, a small blanket folded neatly on one of the seats. string lights were draped along the half wall of the roof top, connecting to the backs of the chairs. a small speaker, softly playing one of your favourite songs, sat on the table alongside two boxes; one with the brand of your favourite restaurant plastered over the side, the other smaller, with a delicate bow placed atop. a present.
"what's all this for, woong?" you questioned, letting go of his hand as you went up to examine the set up a little more. "can't i do nice things for my partner?" he smiled, pulling out one of the chairs, motioning you to sit, "especially when they've just gotten a promotion at their job." he took a seat across from you, admiring the way the warm glow of the string lights illuminated your smiling face.
"you didn't have to do all of this," you insisted, but he merely shook his head. "i wanted to," he grabbed the small present, holding it out to you, "you deserve it, all of this and more."
you grumbled a little more, mumbling a thank you as you opened the box; a ring. "jiwoong, are you-" you started before getting cut off. "i'm not proposing y/n," he chuckled, "not yet at least," you stopped holding your breath, noticing the small engraving on the inside of the ring. 'Even as time goes by, I will always love you.'
you couldn't help but tear up a little as you took in the gift, placing it on your finger, "jiwoong, it's beautiful, thank you." you sniffled, holding back the tears threatening to spill. "if you think that's beautiful," he glanced at his watch, grabbing your hand and leading you to the roof's edge, "then look up."
as if on queue the sky begun exploding in pops of colours all over, decorating the sky like a painting. fireworks. looking over at your boyfriend, the way the fireworks painted his face in shades of oranges and pinks, you couldn't help the feeling swelling up in you, pulling him in for a kiss. "i love you jiwoong, thank you."
"i love you even more."
zhang hao ;
"aren't you coming in?" hao's voice echoed from where he stood between the water and the shore. when your boyfriend suggested a beach date, you thought he meant relaxing on the beach, maybe listening to music or reading. how foolish.
"y/n c'mon!" he yelled, "it's warm and everything!" you shook your head, "i doubt that hao! i'm perfectly fine here!" you insisted, hoping to get back to your book, but it seemed that option was no longer on the table as he stalked up to where you laid on the soft towel. "fine," he mumbled, "i'll just bring you with me then."
he quickly grabbed your arm, your free hand quickly dropping the book as he dragged you closer and closer to the crisp looking water. as soon as your feet touched the rushing wave, a shiver went down your spine. that shiver soon turned into a full body jolt as the water made it's way up your legs, stopping only when you were chest deep in the water.
"fine, fine i'm in." you huffed, "and it is not warm for your information." he laughed at your rather pathetic adjustment to the water, mumbling something about how you'd "get used to it." you would've argued more with the boy if it weren't for the splash of water that just hit your face, thanks to your delightful boyfriend. "zhang hao i'm going to kill you," you nearly shrieked, though you couldn't stop the laughter erupting from your lungs as you chased him through the water.
"can't get me now!" he stuck his tongue out before smiling wide. he was right. you were already neck deep, and thanks to your height difference, he stood far enough out of your grasp that you couldn't grab him, and yet the water was barely touching his shoulders. so you did the only thing you could. payback. you used all your strength to splash water in his direction, effectively soaking the boy, his hair dripping down his forehead.
"you're evil," he chuckled, diving fully underwater this time, long forgoing the idea of keeping his hair nice, only to pop up right beside you, shaking his hair like a wet dog causing you to shriek once more, the two of you bursting into laughter. you both started making your way back to the sandy beach ahead where you volunteered to help the boy dry his hair.
"so, how about popsicles?"
hanbin ;
it took very little to convince your boyfriend hanbin to come with you to the farmer's market being held in your hometown. it was a staple memory of your childhood, coming here as a kid and trying the homemade fudge and petting the little sheep at the petting zoo, sometimes even picking strawberries to make jam with; which you had insisted was on the agenda for the day. when hanbin told you he had never been to anything like it, you knew you had to take him, had to remake those memories with the boy you loved.
"these are gorgeous," you said to the woman sat behind the small table lined with various pieces of jewelry, letting go of hanbin's hand to further inspect a small pendant on a necklace. it was a delicate design, a small outline of a rose on a thin silver chain. "look at this one," you showed the boy next to you. he looked at it and smiled, "it would look great on you, y/n, you should get it." he smiled wide, picturing the dainty accessory along your neck.
you only shook your head a little, "i don't need it," you insisted, "it is really pretty though," you mumbled as you thanked the kind woman as you continued your way through countless stalls. some with bright coloured paintings and fabrics, others with sweet smells that seemed to draw you towards them like a moth to a flame. you had almost made it to the end of the converted barn when hanbin spoke up, "i'm gonna go to the bathroom before we go pick berries, wait here i'll be back." you smiled and nodded at the boy, leaning against the wall of the barn as you awaited his return.
a few moments later, hanbin returned with a wide smile on his face, his hands behind his back, as if he was hiding something. "you didn't go to the bathroom did you?" you questioned, a curious smile tugging at your face as you eyed up the boy, "maybe i didn't," he giggled, pulling out whatever was behind his back, "maybe i was getting my lovely partner the necklace they couldn't stop admiring." he held out the rose necklace, gesturing you to turn around so he could clasp it around your neck.
"hanbin," you whined, a blush rising to your cheeks, and not from the august heat, "you didn't have to."
he shook his head, spinning you back around to admire the way the pendant rested between your collarbones, "a rose for you, one that will never wilt." he placed a kiss to your cheek, "eternal, like my love for you."
matthew ;
"be ready in an hour, we are going on a date :D" you eyed the text on your phone, barely having time to process your boyfriend's antics before you had to be up and getting ready. one quick shower and rushed outfit choice later, you were getting your shoes on as the knock came at the door. opening it to see a smiling matthew standing before you. "so what exactly are we doing?" you questioned, not even noticing the basket in his hand until he raised it in response.
"i thought we could have a little picnic!" he smiled, grabbing your hand with his free hand, "no use in wasting the good weather." he had a point, it was a beautiful day out, and you shouldn't be wasting it inside, like you had planned.
soon enough you two had ended up in the grassy park near your house, setting up under the shade. "you even remembered a blanket!" you smiled wide, sitting down on the soft plaid fabric, watching as your boyfriend sat across from you. "just you wait till you see what else i brought."
he started pulling out what felt like dozens of small containers, all containing your favourite fruits and snacks, some even cut up into cute little shapes like stars and hearts. and last but not least, he had pulled out a mysterious container that seems to make noise when it moved, "what's that one?" you questioned, wondering what else he could've possibly brought. but you couldn't help the smile erupting on your face at the contents of the box.
"oh my god, are we gonna make bracelets?" you beamed, eyeing up the box of goodies; multicoloured beads, small charms, and little circular beads with letters of the alphabet. "you know me so well!"
he chuckled a little at your overjoyed reaction, placing a kiss on your lips, "glad you like it," his gaze turned back to the containers littering the blanket, "let's eat first though, i'm starving." you both laughed as you dug into the countless snacks in front of you.
as the hours passed, the two of you had made a dent in, and put away the snacks, and had made a handful of bracelets and keychains for each other; your personal favourite being the matching initial bracelets you now sported. and now you were enjoying the sunny weather, your head in matthew's lap while he played with your hair.
you didn't notice when the boy had picked up the small oxeye daisy, but as he tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, gently placing the white flower with it, you couldn't help but giggle at the innocent act.
"there," he smiled, admiring the way it complimented your beauty in a way he couldn't describe, "perfect, just like you."
taerae ;
date nights with taerae had become routine for you two, especially in the summer months when it was warm enough to stay out late, just how you both preferred it. usually you both decided on the dates together, but tonight had been a surprise, your only hint being to dress comfy, and that you did.
so when the two of you pulled up to a drive-in movie theater, you were ecstatic. "i've always wanted to do this taerae, how'd you know?" you beamed as he drove up to an empty spot, backing in so the bed of the truck faced the sizable screen. "wild guess," he chuckled, hopping out of the car to come open your door. you were too busy admiring the setting sun behind the screen that you didn't even notice the blankets and bags of snacks that had seemingly magically appeared out of the backseat.
within minutes, taerae had set up the bed of the truck to look nearly as comfy as your bed. blankets and pillows strewn across , leaving two small areas for you both to sit. you joined him in the back, thanks to a helpful hand to actually get you up there, and got comfy just in time for the title screen to roll. a laugh escaped your lips as the familiar surfing montage played.
"teen beach movie? really?" you gaze him a joking glance, though not complaining about the choice. "don't laugh!" he smiled, lightly hitting you on the arm, "we both know you love this movie, and so do i," the last part was barely above a mumble, as if he didn't want to admit his childish taste. "it's perfect taerae, you're perfect."
the two of you had the night of your lives. between the laughable cheesy lines from the movie, and the catchy hits that you both knew all the words to, it was everything you could've hoped for.
as the two of you packed up the truck and got ready to leave, you couldn't seem to wipe the smile off of your face. "we have to do that again before summer is over," you insisted, grabbing his free hand as the two of you drove towards your home.
"we can come back whenever you want my love, i hear they're playing the sequel next week." the two of you burst into laughter, "sounds like a date."
ricky ;
"what are you wearing to the festival today?" you asked your boyfriend ricky over the phone as you stared at your full closet, unsure of what would be cherry blossom festival attire. his smile was almost audible through the phone, "you'll look pretty in anything y/n, don't stress so much."
you only sighed, looking towards the phone as if he could see your glare, "i'm not stressing, i just wanna coordinate with my stylish and cool boyfriend." you said matter-of-factly. it was no surprise to anyone that your boyfriend typically dressed well, especially for nice occasions, so why wouldn't you want to match him. he only chuckled, "well i'm wearing a white sweater and light green pants, does that help?" you hummed in approval as you grabbed a pair of white flowy pants and a sage green loose button down. it would have to do, you told yourself.
soon enough you heard ricky's car pulling up and you rushed to get a pair of shoes on, remembering to pick a comfortable pair in hopes of the walking you were about to do not killing your feet. "well don't you look stunning," ricky mumbled as he met you at the door, snaking his arms around your waist and hugging you briefly, breathing in the smell of your perfume. "i could say the same to you," you smiled before making your way to the car.
the festival was beautiful. that might even be an understatement. the pale pink flowers were in full bloom and the light breeze blowing some of the petals around only added to the picturesque feel of it all. you couldn't help but admire the blossoming trees as you walked a bit ahead of your boyfriend. he had no complaints though, it gave him an opportunity to take some candid pictures. he needed a new lockscreen anyways.
"ricky! ricky!" you called back to the boy a few feet behind you, "they have a lock bridge, we have to go!" he let out a laugh at your excitement as you grabbed his hand, nearly yanking him towards the small stand selling the colourful locks. you had decided on a bright red one, the colour of love, ricky had insisted as you both grabbed a marker to write your names on the lock. "what's taking so long," you whined at the boy, his face hardened in concentration with the lock and pen still in his hand. you didn't hear a response until a few moments later when he mumbled, announcing his finish,
your eyes scanned over the back of the lock as he handed it back to you, a rose, beautifully drawn along the back surface. the red lock had perfectly filled in the petals colours. "do you ever get tired of being so talented?" you asked, your gaze shifting from the lock to the boy in front of you. he jokingly hushed you as you both made your way to the bridge's railing.
"to forever and always," you smiled, the boy planting a kiss on your temple before repeating your words, "to forever and always."
gyuvin ;
"y/n do you have any more quarters?" your boyfriend begged, pleading with you as you stood in front of about a dozen ducks sat in the water, gazing up at gyuvin. "gyuvin we've been here feeding them for the last 15 minutes, lets go look at some other animals." you insisted, attempting to lure him away from the ducks that weren't even really apart of the zoo's attractions.
after some back and forth, and a couple fun facts about the zoo's panda exhibit that you had researched beforehand, you had convinced the boy to take your hand again as you made your way through the winding paths.
"y/n look!!" gyuvin yelled, drawing the attention of some people passing by, and even some of the creatures within the cages. the urgency made you whip your head around, seeing two ring-tailed lemurs up high inside one of the enclosures, seemingly glaring at the tall and excited boy next to you as they let out a few indescribable noises.
without second thought, gyuvin had started to mimic the noises, or rather attempt to, in an effort to communicate with the creatures, only leading you to shake your head. "i'm just gonna pretend i don't know you," you joked, still not leaving his side. it was cute watching him get so excited over all the little animals, you couldn't lie.
hours passed like this; one of you dragging the other to the wall of an enclosure, excitedly pointing at some animal, even stopping to take some pictures of, or with, the animals when you could. it was only when the sun began it's descent that the two of you decided to call it a day, having looped back around to the beginning of the zoo, marked by a large blue fountain.
"i have a couple coins left," you smiled, rifling through your bag to grab the loose change, "let's make a wish."
"i thought you said you didn't have any quarters left." gyuvin jokingly huffed, hands on his hips, "they're nickels, gyu," you laughed, handing him one of the silver coins, "and besides, those ducks were well fed after you were done with them i can promise you that."
the two of you let silence surround you for a moment as you both wished on the coins, tossing them into the fountain with a content hum. "so what did you wish for?" you asked the boy as you walked out of the park. "if i tell you, it won't come true!" he insisted, unwilling to give up the information.
little did you know, he hadn't wished for anything other than for things to stay as they are right now, to stay by your side. and little did he know, you had wished for the same thing.
gunwook ;
"have you seen the moon tonight?" the text read. leave it to gunwook to know exactly when to text you; your saviour from the sleepless night staring at the ceiling. you typed back a quick reply, "no why?" his response came before you could even shut your phone off. it simply read, "come outside." and so you did. throwing on the nearest pair of shoes, you walked outside, being met with a brisk summer night's breeze and a smiling boy, cheeks illuminated by the streetlight.
"what would you have done if i didn't come out?" you laughed at the boy waiting for you. "i knew you would." he stated simply, waiting for you to reach him before the two of you set off along the road you both grew up on. "full moon." he beamed, pointing at the clearing between the roofs, your line of sight following where he pointed, not quite seeing the moon, only the glow from behind one of the houses.
sensing your struggle, he grabbed your hand, pulling you closer to him, your back nearly pressed to his chest as his hands lightly tilted your head in the right direction, finally seeing the beauty glowing before you. "it's huge!" you exclaimed, louder than you wanted in the silent street, save for the buzz of the streetlights and whirls of wind. he mumbled some agreement as the two of you kept walking to nowhere in particular as you quietly chatted about everything and nothing.
somehow the two of you had ended up at the park nearby, sitting yourselves on the swings as you continued your late night chats. the higher the moon rose in the sky, the less you cared what you were saying, and the more philosophical and somehow nonsensical the conversations got.
you were unsure how long you'd been outside, but at some point the wind had started nipping at your skin and you couldn't stop the shiver that ran down your spine. without words shared, gunwook shrugged off his jacket, draping it over your shoulders. "no no," you insisted, "keep it, you'll get a cold." he laughed, shaking his head, "i'll be okay i promise," grabbing your hand, he stood up, leaving you to follow suit, "we should head back anyways."
soon enough you ended up back under the streetlight outside your house, not quite ready to say goodbye, but promising to hang out again the next day. gunwook was already a few houses down when you noticed the thick jacket still keeping the wind at bay, "wook!" you called out quietly, just loud enough for him to hear, "what about your jacket?"
"keep it, you look better in it than i do anyways." he smiled, continuing his walking pace, "see you tomorrow y/n!"
yujin ;
"why is it so dark in here," yujin whined, bright green putter in hand as his eyes adjusted to the interior of the glow in the dark mini golf course. "can't glow in the dark without the dark yujinnie." you laughed, setting your ball up for the first shot, narrowly missing the chance of a hole in one as the ball skimmed past the glowing flag.
he groaned at your obvious response, groaning again as the undershot the ball by a good few feet. "how am i supposed to win like this!" his gaze eyeing your ball as you make it in this time, "this isn't fair!"
you couldn't help but laugh at the boy's newfound struggle. "not used to sucking at a sport are you?" a giggle pushed past your lips, "i'm starting to feel real good about our ice cream bet." you said as you watched him miss the mark once more, the ball bouncing off the side of the only obstacle in this stretch of the course. he only grumbled as he finally made the shot, letting out a sigh of relief as he picked up the glowing ball, heading over to the next hole.
the longer you played the better yujin was getting, and the more competitive you both got as you neared the end of the mini golf course. "i'll take cotton candy," he said smugly, having tied up the game by the last hole, "if you win," you clarified, staring him down with a smile as you watched him line up the shot. "i think you mean when i win y/n" he chuckled, taking the shot.
and missing.
the boy dramatically dropped to his knees, causing you to burst into a fit of laughter, ""so what was that again? "don't laugh yet," he insisted, still on the floor on the course, "you have to get it right now or the next shot's mine." "easy peasy." you mumbled, taking your shot and watching it go right into the hole marked with the glowing flag.
you could only faintly make out his sounds of defeat as you jumped up in excitement, "cotton candy sounds great right now doesn't it?" you teased, smiling at the boy as you walked over, offering out your hand.
"yeah yeah," he let out a small laugh, taking you hand as he got up off the ground, "let's go get ice cream."

a different kind of hang-up
Tumblr media
Randy's mom calls while they're in the middle of something, again. Benson tries his best to get Randy off the phone.
2.6k words. canon divergence, boys on the run. established relationship. blowjobs. smoking. Benson being a menace lol he can't handle not being the center of Randy's attention. read on ao3 here if that's more your speed.
Benson just can't keep his hands off him, even when his mom calls.
The phone rings for so long, so long, before Randy can get to it. The second it starts up Benson recognizes the ringtone and tightens his grip on Randy's hips, sags on top of him with his full weight. He pushes his tongue into his mouth with intentional fervor because he likes fucking around with fire and Mrs. Bradley is a five-alarm inferno.
Randy makes a panicked sound and tries to wriggle free to no avail. He taps Benson's chest, but Benson takes the hint and throws it away unopened, snags Randy’s wrist and pins it to the bed.
Randy twists his arm out of his grip and gives him a shove, leans his head away. "Benson–please–I gotta get this." He makes a grab for the phone on the nightstand.
"You really don't," Benson murmurs, taking hold of his jaw with one big hand and pulling his lips back into range.
Randy lets out a frustrated grunt that gets lost in Benson's mouth and shoves him again, harder, with both hands and a knee for good measure. Benson relents, topples lazily to the side and gives him this goofy, satisfied smirk that makes Randy’s stomach do a flip and he just can't deal with that right now.
"You're gonna get me in trouble," he complains as he sits up and snatches the phone.
"Aw." Benson stretches like a cat, folds his arms behind his head, all ribs and armpit hair and lean lines of muscle. "Now wouldn't that be a shame."
"Hi Mom," Randy says, hoping he sounds perfectly even-keeled and normal and not like he's been rolling around with another man in a motel bed. He remembers his erection at that moment, the worst possible moment, and blushes so hard he can feel the blood trading places. He grabs a pillow and shoves it over his lap like she can see through the phone.
"Randy, I don't like this." His mom starts every conversation like this these days.
Randy bites back a sigh. "I know, Mom."
"This isn't a normal thing. Friends don't ask friends to help them move across the country last-minute without a plan."
They've been through this so many times he's lost count. At least his story gets more solid every time he repeats it. "I told you, Brian doesn't have a support system. I'm just trying to do a good deed." Brian is Benson, because Benson can't be Benson, because Benson is wanted for murder.
Randy feels the mattress shift behind him and stiffens when calloused fingers brush against his skin. His mother's list of grievances fades in his ears as Benson worries at the waistband of his jeans.
"Randy," Benson sing-songs softly at his hip. "Tell her you're in the middle of something."
Randy waves him away, tries to ignore the scratch of his beard and his lips on his skin and tune back into the conversation at hand. "You’re a kind and responsible boy, honey, people will take advantage of that."
"I understand, Mom, but I'm–"
He feels the pinch of teeth on his waist, jerks and bites back a yelp.
His mother is alarmed. "Randy? Are you okay? What happened?"
Randy scoots down the bed away from Benson, shoots him a dirty look. Benson rolls onto his back, runs a hand through his hair and flashes Randy an upside-down grin.
"I'm fine, Mom. Stubbed my toe."
"Sorry," Benson says innocently. "You look fucking delicious, what do you want me to do about it?"
"Are you walking around barefoot? I raised you better than that, Randy. Where are you even walking, aren't you still driving?"
"Yeah, we just–we stopped to grab some food and…stretch our legs a little bit."
Benson sits up suddenly and Randy flinches in anticipatory distress before he even speaks. "We can stretch something else if you want," Benson offers with a wiggle of his eyebrows.
Randy grits his teeth and ignores him, picks frantically at the seam of the pillow in his lap.
"I bet you're eating like absolute garbage. All that fast food isn't good for your long-term health, you know. God knows you had plenty of that at–well. God knows you've had plenty of that."
She clears her throat, recovers from the near-miss of mentioning the incident. The new incident. She’s had years of practice at sidestepping the elephant in the room, but nobody’s perfect, and this is a much bigger elephant. Randy has to admit that it's convenient, not having to dodge questions because they aren't being asked.
"Where are you now?" she says by way of a subject change.
Benson crawls across the mattress on his knees and winds his arms around Randy’s waist, leans heavy against his back and sets his chin on his shoulder. He smells like sweat and nicotine. Randy grips the pillow like a lifeline.
"We're, um…well, I think we're–"
He knows where they are. He knows exactly where they are. Eighteen miles outside of Glasgow, Kentucky. He knows where they're supposed to be, too, according to the fake route he mapped to sate his mother's anxious curiosity. He just can't quite remember what he told her last time, because his brain's still sloshing around in oxytocin and Benson’s kissing his neck, rubbing his chest, thumb catching on his nipple again and again.
"I-I think we're about 40 miles from Benson," he says loudly, as though the volume adds certainty.
"Benson?" his mom repeats, sounding alarmed, and Benson chuckles in his ear.
"Careful," he mutters.
"Branson!" Randy elbows Benson off of him and stands up, stumbles away from the bed. "I meant Branson. Sorry, I fuc–I messed up." He cringes.
Benson laughs, delighted. "Randy Bradley," he says in a mockery of Mrs. Bradley’s disapproving tone.
"Randy Bradley," his mom says like an echo. "Watch your language."
"Sorry. I’m sorry." Randy stalks away, pacing the length of the tiny room, shooting Benson a look of combined irritation and desperation that ultimately reads as pain. "It’s been–I didn’t sleep well last night."
"You gonna tell her why?" Benson asks slyly.
Randy flushes red hot, throws the pillow in his direction and misses by a mile.
Benson winces. "Yikes, babe."
He flops on his stomach and reaches for the cigarettes and lighter on the nightstand. His back is crosshatched with pink scratches, a familiar set of eight nail marks etched into his love handles. Randy feels a detached sense of something like pride in spite of himself.
"We gotta work on your aim. Tone up those arms." Benson makes a jerk-off motion to help paint the picture.
Randy drags a hand across his face. His brain is fraying at the seams. "You can’t smoke in here," he mouths at Benson, who looks him dead in the eye as he lights up and smiles around the cigarette.
His mother is waxing vitriolic about the dangers of sleep aids. Randy heaves a harried sigh. "No, Mom, that’s–I don’t even know where to get benzos."
"I do," Benson says helpfully. Randy shakes his head. Benson apparently takes this as an expression of doubt rather than exasperation. "I do," he insists.
"So how many more days until you get to San Diego, hmm?" his mom says. "You’re not making very good time, honey. Just because you don’t have a job to come back to doesn’t mean you can just roam the countryside like some deadbeat hippie."
"I know, Mom. It–it’s about the journey."
"Fuck yeah it is," Benson agrees.
"Brian’s never been out of Louisiana and neither have I, so we’re…we’re just seeing the sights together."
"And how long will you be seeing the sights?"
Randy leans against the wall, knocks his head back against the plaster. "I guess…I don't know. I’ll keep you posted, but…we’re not really on a schedule."
Benson gets up from the bed and pads over. He invites himself into Randy’s space, boxes him in against the wall, touches his face, touches his ribs. He blows smoke out of the corner of his mouth as he looks him up and down.
Randy can feel his own heart thudding in his throat, suddenly hyper-aware of his body and its proximity to Benson’s. It’s Pavlovian, almost, the way he draws him in like that. Derails his thought process like a punch to the gut.
"So what, this road trip just goes on forever?"
"No, Mom." Benson hooks his fingers into Randy’s waistband. Randy meets his gaze, kind of forgets what he was saying. "Just, uh…just until we get to California, and then…and then back again."
Benson takes another drag and exhales slow, opens his mouth and lets the smoke curl up and out. Randy breathes it in on reflex. His mouth waters.
"Hang up the phone," Benson murmurs. His dark eyes are on fire.
"It–I–I’ll be home before you know it," Randy says.
Benson leans in and sideswipes Randy’s jaw with his chin, worries at his earlobe with teeth and tongue. "Randy." His voice is gravel and satin. The cigarette glows between his fingers in Randy’s periphery. He reaches further into his pants. "Hang up the phone," he whispers.
"I hate to say it, but I just don’t believe you, Randy," his mom says. Her voice drips with disapproval, cold around a core of genuine concern. He knows she’s biting back so much more that she’d like to say, and he loves her for that. For trying to give him an inch even though he’s taking miles and miles.
"I promise I’m okay, Mom," he says, tilting his hips towards Benson, who puts the cigarette between his lips and starts unbuttoning Randy’s jeans. "I would tell you if I wasn’t. I just…this is just something I need to do. Something I–I want to do."
Benson catches his eye, winks at him. "Hang up," he mouths as he sinks to his knees.
"Randy," his mom sighs. He closes his eyes and can picture her shaking her head. "I just worry about you, sweetheart."
Benson’s pushing his shirt up and tugging his pants down and dragging his tongue up the ridge of his hip. Randy can feel the heat on his waist from the cherry between his fingers. In another life, that would scare him so bad it'd make him sick, the chance of getting burned. He feels differently about it now. Knows Benson won't hurt him, not without cause. Knows he could take it if he did. There’s something seductive about that, the power of that. The trust.
Of course, Benson’s hand on his ass and spit on his skin count for something too.
"Randy? Are you there?"
"Yeah…yeah. Sorry. I know that, Mom, I know you worry," he says. "And I’m sorry about that."
It sounds hollow, even to himself, but he means it. He wishes it was different. That he didn’t have to lie. But that’s not an option, not for Benson, and he can’t be without him. They’re a package deal now and he likes it that way. Wants it that way. Wants him.
"Please, baby," Benson mumbles against Randy’s stomach. He sounds as desperate as Randy feels.
He bites his lip, combs his fingers through Benson’s greasy hair. "I gotta go, Mom. I’ll call you at the next stop."
"Promise me."
Benson takes one last drag on his cigarette before he holds it up for Randy to take. He blows soft and slow along the length of Randy’s dick, runs his hand down the back of his leg.
The smoke wafts up to his nose and Randy white-knuckles the phone. He’s so hard he can’t think, can’t possibly wring one more coherent sentence out of his lust-addled brain. "Yeah, I–I promise, Mom. I love you."
"I love you, honey."
Randy ends the call and throws the phone in the direction of the bed. He misses again, dimly registers the thunk as it hits the wall.
"Fuck, Benson," he breathes at the same time Benson says, "Fucking finally," and wraps his mouth around him. Randy groans and slumps against the wall, lets Benson pull his hips closer. He likes being put where he wants him.
"You're gonna get me in trouble," he says again, bringing the cigarette to his lips. He needs it bad after all that. He thinks he can taste Benson’s spit in the filter and he closes his eyes, lets his brain go blank.
Benson comes off his cock with a pop and looks up at him. "But I always get you back out, right?" His tongue slides in circles.
It's miraculous every time he does this, puts his mouth on him like this. Randy's wished for a miracle for a long time. This wasn’t exactly what he had in mind, but who is he to turn it down, with its long lashes and bad language and hands all over him all the time?
"S-so far so good."
Randy takes another drag, feels the high sweep up and over him. It makes him dizzy, makes him giddy. Erases any guilt about lying to his mother and makes him feel good, better than ever, or maybe that’s the man on his knees in front of him.
Benson tilts his head, takes him in. "You’re hot when you smoke, by the way."
Randy chuckles weakly. "Yeah?" He doesn’t do it, not often, usually can’t let go of the voice in his head screaming cancer. But Benson showed him how and he doesn’t cough anymore and in fact, he likes it more every time he tries it. "My mom would lose her mind."
Benson pulls a wry face. "About the smoking, huh? Just the smoking?"
Randy smiles shyly. "Maybe some other stuff too."
"What can she say, she raised a fucking degenerate. And I, for one, am glad she did."
With that, Benson decides the conversation is over and puts his mouth to better use. Randy gasps and moans as he takes him slow, inch by inch, hot and wet and relentless.
He braces himself against the wall. He can barely stand, legs already shaking. Benson’s always telling him he’s easy, and he can’t tell if that’s supposed to be good or bad, but either way, he likes being the way he is. Benson’s fingers dig into the meat of his ass and hit a bruise, sending a sharp thrum of that off-key pleasure straight to his dick. Benson might be right. He might be a degenerate.
He flicks the cigarette butt into the nearby sink and makes it, which is lucky. Maybe his aim isn't that bad after all. Benson has him down his throat to the hilt, which is also lucky. He knows that someday their luck might run out, like gas, like cigarettes, like his mother’s patience, but it sure doesn’t feel like it, not now.
Randy puts his hands on him carefully, the way he showed him, cups his skull and scrunches his hair gently like he's precious, because he is. Benson makes a sound that strikes at his core and he almost loses it right then, but he doesn’t. Not yet. For a second he thinks about miracles, and then he can’t think about much of anything anymore.
The list of things he can't mention when his mother calls gets a little bit longer.

Helluva Broken Narrative 2. The Wasted Family.
Alright here I am with...I guess Part 2 of this Broken Narrative thing...for part 1, see the link below.
I again didn't really wanna post, but it's just been nagging at the back of my head for some time now.
DISCLAIMER: Not saying you can't enjoy the show. Enjoy it all you want, this again is just a rant about a lack of cohesive narrative.
So much like Season 2 retroactively making the whole deal between Blitz and Stolas pointless, it also has made a whole Family completely wasted to the show.
It not only made Stolas a retroactively useless character, but it has also made both Stella and Octavia wasted characters. They are now just characters....who are there, to make Stolas either look good(Octavia) or make you feel 'sorry' for(Stella) and that's...basically it.
It also ruined and yes I'm saying ruined, Stolas and Stella's relationship and what it was hinted to be at. Now you might be wondering...
"Wait...what do you mean?"
Well here it is. It seems that the episode Loo Loo Land, the one fans seem to give all this praise for and most notably the song that Stolas sings to Octavia when she had a nightmare. Except at the same time....people miss the lyrics, that basically confirm that Stolas and Stella had some sort of relationship and they are as follow.
"I use to think that I was bold. I used to think love would be fun."
There is zero way he is meaning anything or anyone else other than his relationship with Stella, but let us break down this set of lyrics.
"I used to think that I was bold."
What is the definition of Bold?
Bold= Showing an ability to take risks; confident and courageous. Courageous, confident, and fearless.
This right here, basically says that Stolas was the one to approach Stella, that he was the one to take this risk of marrying her, that he was the one who wanted to be with her, that he held no fear of being married.
Next set of Lyrics..
"I used to think love would be fun."
This right here, basically says that Stolas and Stella had some kind of relationship with getting married, he wanted to see if they could be together, to have a family, to see how things would go.
Stolas took a bold risk, by popping the question to Stella, diving right on in with his confidence and marrying her to see if it all would work out.
IT WAS STOLAS who got married.
IT WAS STOLAS who wanted Stella.
Then Season 2 happens and shows.....the complete opposite of what these lyrics just flat out told us in that song.
Season 2 shows Stolas as a scared, crying and sniveling child who....has no desire to get married and doesn't want to get married. That the marriage between him and Stella was FORCED UPON THEM and not something by their own volition. So according to Season 2, Stolas couldn't have been bold, nor could he have even wanted to find out if love would be fun...because it was NEVER his choice to begin with and he never liked Stella from the start!
It was his Father, who FORCED him to be married so that they could produce a cautionary heir. Even though I feel that's also pretty pointless when you think about it, but that's another discussion entirely.
Oh but people might say "Well she was throwing stuff at him and screaming at him, yada, yada!"
....No shit? She just found out she got cheated on, what reaction was she suppose to have? Was she just suppose to brush it off? Smile and be happy? NO.
Was it extreme to be throwing things? Obviously, but you know...when someone's pissed enough, they will throw things around and throw a bitch fit because something huge just happened to them.
Also tell me something, if the whole cheating that didn't imply hurt as per Stolas' words in Season 2....then why was Stella even throwing a bitch fit to begin with? Why did she say...
"I can't stand another moment, looking at your imp sucking face!"
"I want that cheating prick, dead!"
...But then in S2, we find out that they never got along, they never even liked eachother....so what is the dialogue even for? This dialogue means absolutely nothing. Also you can't argue for something as status or whatever, because Stella doesn't even seem to care about that, she just wants Stolas dead now.
She specifically used the words "Cheating Prick"....this suggests that...yes, she was hurt by what had happened.
Also before saying anything with regards to Stolas' words to Octavia and Loo Loo Land?
None of those statements were conclusive
2. Even if they were, this wouldn't negate that potentially Stolas and Stella didn't have good times together, that they couldn't have made fond memories. Just that in the end....Stolas realized, he didn't love her.
None of what he said, would have to point to = An arranged/loveless marriage. This is just boring by a narrative standpoint, when you could do a WHOLE LOT BETTER.
Oh but here's the real kicker in all of this folks. I'm not the only one who thought the pair had something more to them than what we got in Season 2, because as it turns out BOTH VAs for Stolas and Stella....were thinking the same damn thing.
Tumblr media
Oh look at that, Stella's VA liking the fact that Stella may not have been evil, that she's just broken hearted and doesn't think straight as per S1. Oh and it adds up to what's above!
Oh but it gets better, because the VAs for the characters did an Insta Reel sometime back, discussing their characters.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CWR2i9oLCyI/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y%3D
The video is unfortunately gone(probably taken down because of S2...), but I just put up the link to show I'm not fibbing, though if it's somehow able to be recovered, be appreciated!
But in it, Stolas' VA says "There's a lot of pain inside of her." << Regarding Stella.
It says something that their VAs put more time and thought in thinking about their characters and what their relationship was, how it affected them than the actual writers.
So it seems to me, that both of their VAs were expecting something deeper to their characters relationship, than what we got. Because what we got now is bland and boring, frankly all of what's going on now in this 'plotline' is incredibly boring, why do people even like this?
Stolas already kicked her out, Stolas already stood up to her. The only thing left is....what? Oh the divorce trial? The trial that is no doubt going to be similar to the Johnny and Amber one, because...topical and then what? Nothing, this whole thing is just not needed.
Oh and then there's Octavia, I won't go too much on this seeing as everyone else is already doing so. But girl? I'm sorry that the show seems to have made you blind and apparently unable to put 2 and 2 together, that your parents never got along.....even though straight from the horse's mouth, an eye witness being YOURSELF says that they weren't always fighting.
==
So there it is folks, this show has completely wasted Octavia and Stella, turning them nothing more into Good and Bad props for Stolas, so that the audience 'feels' something for him. This in turn has completely wasted any potential interesting Family interaction, regarding with what happened and thus made S1 even more pointless than it already is.

What Can Still Be Known
A/N: This is my submission for @wannab-urs Hozier Drabble Challenge... which I meant to have finished weeks ago, but since it's May the 4th, today seems like a good time to post it even if it is later than I originally planned. Thank you so much to Gin for putting this together! I love music prompts, so this was right up my alley. I can't wait to catch up on the other stories written for this event! Make sure you all go check them out, too! You can find them here.
Prompt: My song was Butchered Tongue from the album Unreal, Unearth, and my character was Din. I was delighted to get this prompt, because that song speaks to my soul. It's melancholic and beautiful, and I think it fits Din so damn well, so I hope you enjoy it!
Warnings: angst, mentions of canon typical violence, mention of death of parents/family, you know, Mandalorian stuff.
Word Count: 3,545 (oops.)
Summary: Din doesn't remember much about his parents or his life with them... but that doesn't stop him from wishing it were different.
Tumblr media
Nevarro’s sun burned bright and hot as Din crossed the scrubby stretch of flatlands that separated the town from the Mandalorian encampment. Shifting the crate he carried under one arm, he tilted his head down to where Grogu hopped along beside him, using the Force to propel himself every few steps to accommodate for his father’s much longer stride. The sight, along with the string of happy gurgles and babbles spilling from the kid’s mouth, made a smile sprout beneath the man’s helmet.
“It’s good to be back, isn’t it buddy?”
Grogu looked up at him and squealed happily, nodding and pointing one clawed finger at the semi-permanent settlement growing closer with every step they took.
Though the efforts to reclaim their homeworld had been successful, a small group of Mandalorians remained on Nevarro during the rebuilding process on Mandalore - mainly those responsible for teaching and raising the foundlings and other young children that were not yet ready to start their trials. There were two combat instructors, two teachers whose focus was on the tenants of the Resol’nare, one additional teacher who was responsible for teaching Mando’a, as well as a dozen or so students and their guardians. Eventually they’d all join the rest of their people on Mandalore, but until things were more solidly settled there, Nevarro was as safe an option for an outpost as could be found in the Outer Rim.
Din chuckled. “I’m sure your friends will be happy to see you again, too.”
That response sent the kid bouncing with excitement, hopping high enough so that he could fit in a flip before touching down again, the rondel and small pauldron he wore clinging together like chimes with his motion.
“Go ahead,” Din urged him, jutting his chin out in front of him. “You don’t have to wait for me. I’ll be right behind -” But the child was gone before the last word left his lips. He sighed and shook his head in amusement. “-You.” He watched through the tinted screen of his visor as Grogu darted towards the sparring grounds, no doubt in search of Ragnar.
It had been a few months since they’d been back on Nevarro, Din busy taking Grogu through his apprenticeship, teaching him skills that he would need in order to move on in his training. Tracking, hunting, navigation, survival, negotiation, just to name a few. Every lesson took them to a different planet, some of them coming with the added bonus of coinciding with a bounty or paid favor. The most recent one, a lesson in tracking on Rodia, had resulted in uncovering a stash of beskar ingots that had been defaced with an Imperial stamp.
Immediately after finishing up on Rodia - Din showing Grogu how to incapacitate an enemy without killing them - they’d taken the recovered beskar back to the Armorer on Mandalore, so that she could fashion it into new pieces for the foundlings. It was strange, but good, to see the glass encrusted planet so teeming with life. It was a relief to know that what his people had fought for for so long, what so many had given their lives for, was finally secure. Finally theirs.
But despite the fact that the Mandalorian people finally had a safe place to call home, Din had yet to feel that sort of connection with the planet. Unlike Bo-Katan, he hadn’t been born there, nor had he spent any time there as a child. He’d heard stories about what the Great Forge had been like in its glory, how lush the gardens of Sundari had been long ago. But to him, a foundling Child of the Watch who had never set foot on Mandalore until he was a grown man, they’d always felt like stories about some fictional, far off place. He wondered if that would change, if he would ever feel at home in a place that brought him no nostalgia or warmth.
A part of him hoped that it would. Because it wasn’t just Mandalore that he felt that absence of connection to. It was everywhere he went. A side-effect of losing every home he’d ever had, it turned out, was not knowing where your roots would grow if they could grow anywhere they chose.
He knew he had a home once. A true home, one where he could have collected a whole life’s worth of memories, enough of them so that when he returned there they’d all come rushing to fill his heart with warmth and welcome. He knew he had a family before the Tribe had become that for him, too. A mother and father who loved him so fiercely that they sacrificed their own lives to save his. When he closed his eyes and concentrated hard enough, he could still find their faces. His father’s was easier to recall because he himself wore so many of the same features. Every time he saw his own reflection he was reminded of the man who carried him through the battlefield that their village had become.
His mother’s face was more difficult to recall in detail, but that didn’t mean he had forgotten her. He remembered her thick, dark hair and the way it curled at her shoulders. He remembered the texture of the red robes she wore, remembered tracing the intricate pattern of woven stitching on the cuffs of her sleeves with the tips of his fingers. He couldn’t be sure, but he had the thought that he must have remembered these things because she was the one who comforted him when he was hurt, sad or scared. That what he really recalled when he thought of his mother was the feeling of safety and warmth that her embrace provided.
He remembered the tone of her voice, soothing but strong. His father’s was full and confident and always sounded like a smile was about to appear. He remembered that the two of them sang often. Sometimes he’d be hit with a snippet of a melody, the lyrics lost, turned to dust and ash like the rest of his homeworld, but he’d find himself humming and realize that it was one of the songs his parents used to sing.
The forgotten lyrics were only a small part of a larger loss, though. They were written in a language that had died when the population of Aq Vetina had been snuffed out. So he could remember his parents’ voices. He could remember the melodies they sang. But the things they said, the words they used, the meaning behind them? All of that was gone. For all the languages and means of communication he did know, the first one he’d ever heard and learned escaped him. And in all of his travels since leaving his homeworld in the arms of an armored stranger that had become his Buir, Din had never met anyone who spoke his native tongue.
It made him wonder if anyone else had survived the attack on his home that day, or if he was the last living member of a completely slain culture.
Before he could ruminate on that thought for too long, though, Azil, one of the combat instructors, saw him walking towards the sparring grounds and waved him over. “Olarom, Djarin!” He pointed at the crate Din carried, tilting his helmeted-head in question. “Gifts from home?”
The contents of the box shifted as Din handed it over, newly cast cuiresses ringing together in answer to Azil’s inquiry. “New beskar,” Din responded with a nod. “Freshly forged on Mandalore,” he added in answer to Azil’s question about where it came from. “I was told to deliver them to you for distribution to your students.”
Azil set the crate down and clapped one gloved hand to Din’s shoulder. “Vor entye, vod.”
Returning the gesture, Din did the same. “This is the Way.”
“This is the Way,” Azil echoed, and then immediately set about unpacking the box of armor, sorting it by size, leaving Din to see where Grogu had gone.
It didn’t take long for him to find his son. The long, green ears were a giveaway, sure. But so was the small crowd of other children gathered around to watch him levitate a black chunk of volcanic rock while Ragnar Vizsla practiced blasting it with training darts. With each successful hit, the other kids would cheer, a collective sound of amazement coming from them each time Grogu managed to evade the blast by redirecting the rock.
Din stood watching for a few moments, silently appreciative that these children had this opportunity to laugh and learn and grow together somewhere open and safe and free. He could remember playing similar training games and showing off new skills with the few other children in his covert, though then it was all done underground, in hiding. But he couldn’t recall the kinds of games he might have played with friends in his village. If there were any nursery rhymes or tall tales he might have known once, they’d long since faded from his memory.
It made him wonder if he’d eventually forget what little he could remember about his native culture. Would he lose it piece by piece? Until not even a familiar tune or the color red or his own reflection sparked any feeling? He hoped not, but it seemed inevitable.
At least, it had.
Suddenly - from a different group of children than the one gathered around Grogu, much to Din’s relief - a small child went darting by his boots, arms outstretched in front of her, the distinct sound of sniffles and cries trailing after her. Turning away from the training grounds, he watched as the child was scooped up by a woman who had just stepped out of one of the tents. He assumed that whatever sent the girl running was just the result of one of the other kids being a little too rough. Or perhaps one of Nevarro’s reptilian species had frightened the child. Either way, it was clear that there was no real danger and that the woman had things under control, so he started to turn back towards Grogu and Ragnar’s shenanigans.
But then he overheard the woman begin to soothe the young girl in her arms.
“Ny mo yariin, necta.”
It stopped him in his tracks and sent his head swiveling back in the direction it came from. His heart pounded beneath the elongated diamond stamped into the center of his chestplate as he felt something unlock in his memory.
He’d heard those same words before. So long ago that he was stunned when he recognized the phrase. So long ago that the meaning behind them was lost. But he knew they were spoken to him as comfort. He knew that they were words steeped in love. He watched the way the woman cradled the child to her armored chest, his eyes catching on the piece of red fabric that was pinned to the cowl of her flight suit.
No matter how impossible it seemed that the words he’d just heard had survived what a whole settlement of people hadn’t, no matter how unlikely it was that it was there of all places that he’d heard it, no matter how slim the odds were that the tattered scarlet linen was the same fabric that he remembered from his home, Din found himself drawn to her.
To you.
—  —  —
You were rewiring the com device in your helmet when you heard Tira’s cry.
Though you knew that she was probably fine - there were dozens of other Mandalorian adults present in the settlement, and you knew that none of them would allow any real harm to come to the children - you immediately set your work down and stepped outside, senses heightened. But as soon as you saw her running towards you, you relaxed. She wasn’t hurt or being chased. She’d likely just been knocked over by one of the bigger kids while they played one of their games. Tira was small, but didn’t like to be told that. And since her older brother had begun his trials and wasn’t there as often to make sure she didn’t get pushed around by the others, she’d been having trouble adjusting.
It didn’t help that less than a year ago, she and Maj had lost both of their parents in the battle to retake Mandalore, which is how the children had come to be in your care.
As a former foundling yourself, you were more than willing to step in and raise them as your own, just as the Mandalorian who rescued you the day your village was attacked and your parents were killed would have done had he not been able to reunite you with your kin. You’d been brought to Corellia, where your mother’s sister lived with her family, and they’d taken you in and raised you instead. It wasn’t until you became an adult that you rejoined the Mandalorians and took the Creed, choosing to commit your life to the very people who had saved it.
But though you mainly spoke Galactic Basic and were muddling your way through learning Mando’a, it was still your first language that came to you when you scooped a sniffling Tira into your arms and cradled her to your armored chest. It was still the words your parents - and then your aunt - had spoken to you when you’d been hurt or scared that you used to comfort the girl.
“Ny mo yariin, necta.”
You’re safe with me, sweet one.
You knew Tira and Maj didn’t speak Aquitto. They only knew the meaning of that one phrase because you’d taught it to them. And since your aunt had passed away, you knew that you were possibly the only person left in the galaxy who would even recognize it let alone speak it. As far as you knew, there hadn’t been any other survivors from your village that day. It struck you that every time you spoke it could be the last time it was ever uttered.
Pushing that thought from your mind, you focused on Tira, kissing her cheek and letting her clutch at the sculpted pin that held a piece of red fabric - a remnant of the hooded robe you’d been wearing the day you were rescued on Aq Vetina - in place on your cowl. The pin had belonged to your mother, the woman pressing it into your hand before disappearing to go try to fight off the monstrous machines with the rest of the village. As a child you would trace the design on it with your fingertip whenever she held you, whenever she made the same promise you were making Tira.
“Ny mo yariin, necta.”
By the time you’d said it a second time, the girl had stopped crying. The words themselves weren’t magic, but the sentiment in them was. Even if they were the last scraps of the Aquitto language to live on, you hoped that one day Tira or Maj would pass them along to a child who needed to hear them, too.
Whatever had brought on the sudden storm of tears had passed, and Tira wriggled in your hold as she caught sight of some of the other children watching as the Jedi foundling levitated chunky rocks for Ragnar to blast with darts. You chuckled at her eagerness to get back out there with the big kids. “Okay, necta. But watch out for yourself, got it?” You set her back on the ground, stooping down to her level and ruffling her hair. “I know you’re a tough one, but you still have to be careful.”
She nodded enthusiastically, telling you that she would be, and then she was gone, scurrying back across the crusty flatland towards the other kids. When you stood back up, you were met with the dark visor of Din Djarin - a man you’d never personally met, but who you’d heard a great deal about from the others in the settlement on Nevarro. You knew he was the Jedi foundling’s adoptive father. You knew he had previously wielded the Darksaber and that he was instrumental in helping Bo-Katan Kryze and the others take back Mandalore. You knew that he was responsible for reclaiming the beskar that your armor had been forged from.
– – –
“Oh, hello,” you greeted him, a small laugh in your voice that he figured was a result of the way he’d caught you off guard. You lifted a hand and reflexively tucked the piece of red fabric at your collar into place. “It’s Din, right?”
“Yes. Din Djarin. I’m sorry I don’t know your name, I-”
You waved him off and introduced yourself. Smiling, you pointed in the direction that the little one you’d just set down had run off in. “That’s your son over there, isn’t it? Tira was excited to see him.”
Din turned his head to follow your finger, though he didn’t need to look to know that you were indicating Grogu. “It is,” he confirmed, facing you again with a small shrug. “He likes to show off.”
You laughed at that. “I would too, if I could do what he can.”
“He’s a special kid,” Din replied, and you smiled again.
“He is.” You nodded, and it was clear to him that you were still unsure of why he had approached you. “Is there-”
“Can I ask you something?” He tilted his head, hidden eyes fixed on the fabric at your neck - and on the sculpted pin that held it in place, the designs so familiar to him he could feel them on his fingers.
You furrowed your brow, expression turning serious. “Of course. Not sure if I’ll be able to help you with it, but-” You held your hands up, palms to the sky. “Ask away.”
“The words you just spoke to that little girl… Tira?” You nodded so he went on. “How do you know that language?”
He watched your eyes widen with your blink. “You… You’re familiar with Aquitto?”
Din sighed, giving a slight shake of his head. “I didn’t even remember what it was called, but… Yes. Or, that phrase, anyway. How do you know it?”
You let out a breath. “I… I was born on Aq Vetina. It was the language my parents spoke. It…” Again your fingers came up to the pin and the fabric that it secured. “It was my first language. I was lucky that my aunt knew it, too, or else I would have forgotten it completely after our village was destroyed and-” Something dawned on you and your eyes widened again. “You said you were familiar with it?” He nodded. “How?”
You asked the question in a way that made him think you already knew the answer, but you needed - or wanted - to hear him say it. So he did. “Same as you. I was born there. It was my parents’ language. But I haven’t heard it spoken since the day droids raided our home.” He blinked, somewhat stunned that only moments before he had been mourning the loss of his native language and culture only to find a source of it right in front of him. “I didn’t know there were other survivors.”
Your mouth fell open slightly as you stared up into the visor that hid his eyes from view. When you spoke again it was quiet, your words equally full of disbelief. “Neither did I.” Your lips twitched into a small smile despite the way your eyes had started to water. “I’m glad we were both wrong, Din.”
“I am, too.” He felt a tightening in his chest, but it was unlike anything he felt before. It wasn’t from sorrow or anxiety, it wasn’t to alert him to a threat or caused by regret. It felt more like a connection forming - like meeting you had brought him closer to his own heart somehow. Instantly, a thousand questions popped into his mind for you, and he imagined you might have had some for him as well. But there was one thing he needed to know first. “Can you tell me what it means? What you said to Tira? My… I think my parents used to say it to me, and…” He trailed off, waiting for your response.
“It means, ‘You’re safe with me, sweet one.’” You smiled again. “It literally translates to ‘You’re in my heart’ though. It’s… It’s what you say to the people you love most.”
Just then, Grogu and Tira came tearing over, Din bending down to pick up his son and you settling your hand on the little girl’s head as she clung to your side. “Hey, Buddy. Remember when I told you about my parents and what I remembered about where I came from?”
“Patu.” His head moved up and down, ears flapping with his nod.
“Well, this lady comes from the same place that I do, and she just taught me how to say something in my old language. You wanna hear it?”
“Patu!” He spread his clawed fingers over Din’s chestplate.
Din looked over at you - at the warm smile on your face as you smoothed the little girl’s play-ruffled hair and gave him an encouraging nod - and then back down at Grogu. “Ny mo yariin, necta.”

"If I'm being honest, no I'm not holding up okay."

CW: Past Stancy mention, current Jancy, past feelings mention, and past/current unrequited love (both)
Prom Night, 1985
Prom night, supposedly one of the greatest nights of teenagers' lives. That's a sentiment Steve definitely wouldn't agree with, hanging out outside his own senior prom. He didn't even know why he bothered coming, knowing full well he'd see them together. Hand in hand, arm in arm, dancing to every cheesy slow song the DJ put on. As much as Steve tried to be supportive or ignore it...
He just wasn't over his ex-girlfriend yet.
But that didn't stop him from trying to be the bigger man in the situation. That's what Steve grew into being, the bigger person. No more being a total asshole for the sake of his own feelings. That's something Junior year Steve would do.
"Well, don't you just look so lively tonight." His trance breaks as he's approached by you, coming from the double doors of the Gym hallway not too far away.
"I'm not in the mood tonight."
Steve sounded both fed up and disgusted with your antics already. Even if this was just the first thing you said anything to him all day.
You lean against the cold brick gym wall. Feeling the rough bumps of the hard surface on your back and through your dress.
"Rough night, champ?" Steve sighs, rubbing his eyes, raw from a few minutes of being emotional.
"You don't know the half of it." Glancing over, he sees you for the first time. Admiring the floor length red dress, you always looked good in red. You looked good in everything, at least in his mind.
"Look at you, all dressed up and presentable for once." You smirk at his joke, making him chuckle and smile.
"I always look presentable thank you prick." Smirking to yourself before looking back at him.
"You look good in a tuxedo... Y'know, for you."
"Thanks for the backhanded compliment. Anything good from you is a rarity." You laugh, making him smile even wider. His eyes shift around the parking lot, watching cars pull in, and other kids come to join the party going on inside.
"What're you even doing out here by yourself? I thought you'd be in there with like 9 different girls trying to dance with you at once." He scoffs, fighting the urge to roll his eyes.
"You know, too many options beating down my door. Couldn't disappoint them all."
"Came stag too, huh?" He just nods in response, not saying anything as you both look up into the inky night sky. The only sound to fill the cold April night air was the crickets chirping and distant chatting of other students.
"Are you holding up okay? I saw them dancing inside and... I know the breakup was hard for you, so I just thought I'd check up on you..."
Steve let out a rough sigh, feeling like a complete idiot pining for his ex-girlfriend still. Being broken up for almost 5 months now. He couldn't let her go in his head, they were each other's first loves. At least she was to him.
All of that came crashing to a halt after everything back in November.
"If I'm being honest, no I'm not holding up okay."
"I know I'm not a therapist or anything..." You shrug, glancing back at him as you nervously chew on your thumbnail.
"You wanna talk about it?"
"Not really. I've been talking to Dustin for months about it and no matter how much I try I can't get past it. Like Nancy's cast some kind of spell to stick with me or something." He sighs, looking at the asphalt as he swallows harshly.
"Now we can hardly make eye contact for more than 3 seconds before she turns away... God, she must hate me."
"Steve, she doesn't hate you. She's probably just feeling awkward about everything and trying to respect her new relationship by not hanging around her ex-boyfriend. They're just trying to find their footing as a couple." You reassure him, leaning over to give him a squeeze on his shoulder. Thinking about what he said, you shake your head, grinning at the thought of Dustin.
"And really Steve? Dustin. He's like 14 and barely knows how to handle having a crush yet. He's never even had a girlfriend yet. I know he's smart for his age, but c'mon."
"I know! He's just a great listener. He knows a lot for his age, it's actually kinda scary." You roll your eyes looking at the ground, starting to laugh to yourself.
"What?" His full attention is on you now, a small smile pulling at his lips as he watches you start to laugh harder.
"Nothing I just..." You cover your mouth, snickering again.
"I just never pictured myself giving you of all people a pep talk... You're you for crying out loud. Steven "The Hair" Harrington." You grin, bumping his arm with your elbow.
"King Steve... You're literally the most popular guy in the entire school, and I'm... Me." He shrugs, crossing his arms over his chest.
"That's the fun thing. We're so different, so we can see our point of view while still seeing each other's... Plus, it's nice not having someone around trying to kiss my ass constantly."
"Yeah, I'll just kick your ass instead." You smirk, pressing off the wall, your heels click as you step in front of him.
"Look, I know it hurts now, but it'll pass eventually... And if I can be honest with you... You could do so much better than Nancy frickin' Wheeler."
Steve could feel his eyebrows shooting up in amusement as you got in front of him. For some odd reason, just standing there in your presence felt somewhat calming suddenly.
"Oh yeah? Who'd you have in mind then?"
"I don't know," you think for a second and shrug, "Farrah Fawcett? I think she'd think you were cute. Celebrity or not?"
"Farrah Fawcett? You think Farrah Fawcett, one of the most famous women alive, would want me?"
"Yeah! You're a hot guy, why wouldn't she?!" It's his turn to laugh now, shaking his head as he bites his lip.
"Where the hell would I even meet her?"
"I don't know! I thought we were talking hypothetically." Steve nodded, his face turning serious again.
"It's just... It's hard looking past Nancy, y'know. She was the first girl I ever loved."
"I'm aware, Steve. It's just not always the best thing to dwell on. I'm talking from experience." You bite the inside of your cheek and sigh. Nervous to be this honest, but if it helps get the point across, then so be it.
"Can I be honest with you about something?"
Steve looks at you, seeing how nervous you look to talk. His lips part slightly as he nods.
"Of course."
"I used to have a massive crush on Jonathan ages ago and when he started showing an interest in Nancy it killed me... But he's my friend, so I encouraged him. It killed me but I got over it."
You turn your head, looking up at the sky again, taking in the shining stars above the two of you. Feeling embarrassed about laying everything out there for someone you've barely gotten to know again.
"Took a while but time heals most wounds. So, just know I'm here for you because I know what it feels like... Kind of."
Steve felt your pain as you talked about how you couldn't be with Jonathan, and how that's basically how he felt about Nancy in all honesty.
Silence fell over the two of you as you both looked out to the sky, admiring the stars again. Steve looks over at you, feeling somewhat peaceful. Yet still wanting to ask so many questions.
"How'd you do it? Stay strong like that. I can barely be in a room with her right now."
"I talked to my family. That helped a lot... But I know you aren't the closest to your parents, so that's why I asked if you wanted to talk about it with me." You smile softly, lips turning up as you half shrugged at his question.
"I know we weren't always on the best of terms, but you're my friend and... I care about you."
"We're friends again?" His eyes seemed to light up almost, just like he was a little kid again. Over the past year he's felt like you two were bonding. But never wanted to ask out of fear.
Tension fills the air between you two. It's been this way since you two started becoming friends again. Going through hell together alongside the couple, Steve was trying to avoid like the plague.
"Well you know, when you nearly die fighting inner dimensional monsters together you tend to start caring about their well-being again... So, in a way, I guess we have to thank them for something at least."
Steve smirks before shaking his head.
"Part of me likes to think we'd be friends again someday."
"Who knows." You add, silence falling between you again. It's not long before Steve shifts, pushing himself off the wall and looking at you.
"So let’s say, hypothetically, that I was stuck at this stupid prom without a date and I had no one else to ask but you...”
"Mmm. Mmhm, hypothetically." You nod along, fighting back the urge to smirk.
"Go on."
Steve looked away for a second, collecting his thoughts. He takes a deep breath, turning back to you.
"And, hypothetically, I might need to spend our senior prom dancing, like my life depends on it, because it's possibly the last fun night before the rest of our lives."
"I'm starting to think you don't know what the word hypothetically means."
"Shush," he cuts you off, making you giggle before he continues, "now, hypothetically, would you be interested in dancing with me?"
You nod, looking like you were really thinking about it. As if you didn't know your answer already.
"Well, hypothetically," you play along, making sure to hold eye contact, "I might be inclined to say yes... If it wasn't a hypothetical, of course."
You rub your hand over your mouth, smirking behind it. He holds eye contact, faking a scoff as he stares.
"You're gonna make me ask?" You nod, tongue going to his cheek as he also nods.
"You're impossible, you know that?"
"I wouldn't be saying that to a girl you're about to ask to prom Steve." He chuckles, nodding. You got him there.
His expression shifts to a goofy grin as he sighs with a slight relief.
"You think you can survive the night without making fun of me?" He smirks, holding his hand out for you to grab, you smile back at him taking it gently. Giving him a reassuring squeeze.
"I don't know about the whole night, but I can sure try my best." Rolling his eyes, he pulls you into his side, lacing his arm around your waist.
You look up at him, your gaze meeting again. Taking in his deep brown eyes and soft smile brings... Old feelings from years ago bubble back up.
Your mouth opens to say something, anything at all. But the words won't come out as your heartbeat picks up speed.
That old crush you had on your old friend never really went away over all these years.
Or at least that's what you think at the moment.

Out of all the Itty Bitty Sinners, I feel like Angel, Charlie, Niffty, Emily, and Vaggie would love love love love the Barbie movies. I even made my own headcanons of each Itty Bitty Sinner and which Barbie movies they would adore
Tumblr media
(This is a late response. I'm sorry. That's pretty normal around here)
I freaking love this!! And I love barbie movies!!!
I love these!!! 💗💕💗🩷💗💕🩷💗
Tumblr media
🩵Charlie and Vaggie both loving princess and the pauper! They definitely sing all the songs together and have played make believe so that Erica and Annalise ended up together instead 😍
🧡12 dancing princesses is so good!! I think Angel would like that one a lot, too.
💜I freaking love Barbie as rapunzel! I think Charlie would adore that one! But also, she would love island princess!
💙Vox watching Barbie is so cute to me! He probably wouldn't if it weren't for Velvette, and now he likes them quite a bit.
💗The pearl princess was surprisingly good, in my opinion. I don't hear people talk about that one very often.
💙St. Peter definitely loves Julian and Dominic and wishes they ended up together instead. Lol
He definitely also introduced barbie to lute and Adam lol
❤️I haven't seen most of the ones for Niffty except for thumbalina. But I agree she'd love that one!!
🦌Alastor singing how can I refuse is absolutely something I needed in my life lol
Tumblr media
These are all so accurate!!
Also,
Carmilla's daughters would love all the ballet ones.
Tumblr media
Lucifer, I think, would love magic of Pegasus and princess and the pauper.
And
Tumblr media
Husk would...have to put up with every Barbie movie under the sun and knows most of the songs now.
Omg!! Angel, singing the cats meow to husk when he expresses how much he hates being a cat? Lol🤣
Tumblr media
Welp, can't get that out of my head now XD

A Fitting Punishment
Want to be caught with my pants and underwear pushed down around my ankles as I desperately hump my hard tdick against a dom's computer chair. They catch me right as I let out an embarrassing whimper; I'm so horny I don't even notice them at first until they clear their throat to announce their presence.
Immediately I stop. My face flushes with embarrassment, words of explanation catch in my throat. I try to just walk away without a word, too flustered to address anything, but they grab my wrist, wordlessly pointing to the wet spot of precum on the arm rest.
Before I can say anything they're dropping onto the chair and manhandling me across their lap. I didn't have time to pull my pants up so now I'm draped across them with my bare ass on display.
"You want to rub your cock and leaky hole all over my stuff like a whore, you're gonna get punished like one," they punctuate their threat with a hard spank across my ass cheek. I let out a loud yelp that precedes a deep moan I try - but fail - to stifle. They pause their windup for a second strike when their brain processes what they heard.
They huff out a light laugh, "I shouldn't be surprised a slut like you would get turned on by this." Another smack from them and another restrained moan from me.
"Did you think I couldn't hear you playing with yourself at night? Two fingers deep in your own hole while you jerk off your tiny pathetic dick, whining my name? I've been thinking about having my way with you for awhile now~"
A few more loud smacks follow and it's getting harder to hold back my pathetic noises as each strike causes my dick to rub against their thigh. It's no doubt my cunt is leaving a wet spot on their pants that's only getting bigger with every hit.
I desperately don't want them to notice my arousal leaking out onto them so I protest, "P-please stop."
"Stop? Why would I stop when I can feel you leaking onto me." Shit. "Your hard little dick poking my thigh was a good first clue. You're loving this~" Another hit. A full moan ghosts past my lips this time.
"See, your words can lie but the rest of you can't," they taunt in a sing-song voice. "You're getting so pathetically horny from just this? I wonder what other slutty noises you make when your ass is played with in other ways."
With a mischievous grin, they reach down to my cunt and swipe up some of the slick, causing me to tremble. They inspect the slick briefly between their fingers before their hand is in front of my face to show me.
"All this already? God you're easy." They withdraw the slick-covered hand and with the opposite hand, begin groping my ass cheeks. Spreading them apart to expose my needy little asshole. My breathing slows in anticipation for what I know is coming next; my breath is released as a gasp upon feeling their cold index finger settle gently on my rim as it begins drawing small circles.
My body relaxes at the sensation of my own slick coating my sensitive asshole. After a few rotations of their finger, they push in; my eyes widen and I choke out a moan at the delicious feeling of being stretched. My needy asshole swallows the digit with ease, prompting them to add a second finger before gently prodding around to gauge my reactions.
"Fuck this is a greedy little asshole. You took my fingers no problem. Who knew you had such a slutty loose hole?" they taunt, moving their fingers in and out at an agonizingly slow pace. "Bet you've taken so many big dicks up here. Maybe even two at a time! Yeah? Getting gaped like a faggot so you're always prepared to get fucked like one."
"Y-yes," I admit breathily, to their amusement. A third finger gets added, making me throw my head back in ecstasy, giving up trying to hide the moan that escapes from me. I hear them chuckle as they resume the slow, rhythmic pace they'd set. Each stroke to my inner walls has me curling in on myself with need. I shove my ass back, taking their fingers in deeper and begin rocking my hips to fuck myself. "Fuck-!"
Their hand stills, and I continue fucking myself, whimpering as my dick rubs against their thigh with each thrust of my hips. I shift my position, now driving their fingers into a sweet spot that has me seeing stars. A moment later and I feel myself approaching the edge, my hole clenching around their fingers. "Oh f-fuck fuck fuck I'm gonna cum I'm gonna cum I'mgonnacumI'mgonnacum-!" I yell out.
That's when they pull out, while I flop into their lap with a dry, choked whine at the loss. Before I can protest, a shrill whimper is forced out of me by a hard swat to my red ass and their other hand yanking my head back by my hair.
"God you're such a slut! You really thought I was gonna let you fuck yourself to completion?" They give me a few more rapid swats that have me whining. "And why would you deserve to cum after being such a bad boy? I think this is the best punishment - leaving you denied and desperate."
"N-no! Please please please let me cum!" I plead, so close, squirming from the delicious stinging feeling on my punished ass. "I-I'll be a good boy...p-please!"
They shake their head, letting go and rolling me off their lap, onto the floor as my limbs are too wobbly to catch myself. "I don't think so," they coo, taking advantage of me being on the ground already by unzipping their pants in front of me.
"You'll just have to imagine cumming on my cock while you suck it~"

The air left your body as you let out a reflexive yelp, big bubbles leaving your mouth in groups as your vision was reduced to the bright light of the moon refracted through the gleaming multicolored water. Whoever grabbed you had a strong grip, their nails digging into your skin as you tried to pull away, water filling your lungs as you attempted to gasp for air. tears flowed from your eyes, mixing into the freshwater around you like grains of sand in a desert.
You were so close. So, so, close.
You had been dragged through the portal, and before you knew it your were clawing your way up to the bank of your own stream, any and all excess water leaving your system as you laid on the shore, taking deep breaths. You quickly sat up, wanting to face your captor.
There your mother was, hair hanging sopping wet before her face, eyes containing a gleam of unfiltered anger you hadn't seen from her in so, so long. Her midnight blue column dress clung to her body, and as she trudged over to you, getting dryer and dryer, her levels of lethal elegance seemed to grow.
"After all that has happened," she started, her voice just barely above a whisper, heels panging against the ground as you scooted back and away from her, her eyes never leaving yours as she pushed her undone hair out of her face.
"You dare to return? To disrespect me? To disrespect the memory of your father?" her words grew in volume, before she towered over your physique. She grabbed a hold of your wrists, pulling you up to her face with all the intensity of a lioness hunting her prey. Gone was the sweet, gentle mask your mother wore daily, here was her in her true form.
Angry, volatile, deadly.
"I-I..." you stuttered, unable to come up with any sort of excuse.
"Enough," she spat, pulling you along the path you had traversed so many times before, perhaps for the last time. "You can forget about ever leaving my sights again," she snapped, her grip unrelenting.
"You...you can't be ser-"
"As the plague, (Y/n). You will stay in your room until the day of your wedding," she announced, dragging you through despite your heels digging into the ground in protest. She stopped for a moment, turning her head to glare at you, saying, "and if I hear another word from you tonight, you can expect to sleep in the dungeon. You're lucky enough to stay in your room, thank the stars for that."
You stayed silent, partially out of fear, partially out of bewilderment. You knew your mother was crazy, but you didn't know she was this crazy. How did she even find out? How could she have...
Ochako.
You did this. You let your guard down. You trusted someone blindly. Look where that got you.
The walk home was silent, save for your sniveling, and when you got to your room, you found it different from before. there was iron lining your room, rendering you magickless. You also noticed that when checking the depths of your closet, where you stashed your red dress and all of Katsuki's gifts, nothing was there. You had been robbed not only of Katsuki, but the memory of him.
As for your door, it was manned by two guards posted outside and an iron lock, something you hadn't experienced since you were a little rambunctious girl. You simply collapsed into bed, not bothering to change out of your dirty clothes or brush your hair or clean up. What was the point? You had nothing, you had no one, all you had was a sense of dread.
The next morning, there was a knocking at your door, before it creaked open. There Ochako was, a shameful frown on her face as she brought you some breakfast. "I...I had the chefs make your favorite..."
"Funny that only now you seem to care about what I want," you scoff, not bothering to turn over in bed to face her. "Eat it yourself."
"Listen, I didn't know she'd...I only did this because I thought..." Her voice waivered, and she took a deep breath. "We've known each other since we were girls, I only wanted what was best for you."
She was right, you have know each other since you were girls. You'll never forget the day you met, probably a year or two after your dad died, the day her parents got hired as servants and she moved into the maid's quarters. The two of you played together in the garden, any game you could play you did. You liked to expose her to all the luxuries she hadn't ever previously seen, and she liked to show off all the skills she acquired that you were never taught, like sewing and fixing broken toys.
Eventually, her parents got too old to work, and she began to work to support them, becoming your handmaid. You've been through so much together, through thick and thin. She was your best friend, and you were hers, and yet here you were. betrayed.
"Great. Thanks. You can go now."
She sighed and set down the tray of food, leaving it on your dresser, before walking out and gently shutting the door behind her. Locking it.
For the next 5 days, you did nothing but cry, hardly eating, hardly moving, just laying there and crying. Ochako kept bringing you food, and you kept shutting her out. Then, on the sixth day, something clicked. You were hopeless because you thought you had no choices, but truly, even without your magic, you had opportunities. Opportunities like that stained glass window.
You started by "accidentally" spilling food onto your sheets. Then, when ochako came in to give you lunch, you asked for a second set and for her to fetch another maid. She did so, and you asked the same of that maid. And the next one. And the next one. By the end of it, you had 8 sets of king sized sheets, including the one that had the spill. You took those sheets and made a rope, tying the ends together and checking routinely to be sure it was sturdy.
You were getting the hell out of here.
Meanwhile, Katsuki had spent his week studying. All he did was study, studied politics, studied battle strategy, studied science, studied math. Anything but think of you. He hadn't left the vast palace in days, he hadn't gone outside, he hadn't tended to Versengen, he hadn't talked to Kirishima besides ordering him to get more books and paper for him.
His usually bellicose nature had been amplified, any conversation lasting longer than a second or two cause Katsuki to lash out at anyone and everyone around him.
He spent his evenings staring out the window, daring to look past the wall at that well trodden path he had so desperately wanted to see you walk out of, to see you run to him and apologize and swear to stay with him forever. He knew that was a fever dream, you were probably getting married as he sat there, unable to do anything...Maybe he should go, maybe he should go and enter your world, just to force you to come back to him.
He hated this feeling of nervousness, he was so angry and ready to do something, but for once his common sense wasn't on his side. He couldn't rationalize this one, he just had to sit here and cry into the dead of night, not a sound leaving him, his words instead leaving through his tear ducts.
He needed you.
The time was 11:58 AM, when you were sure everyone would be asleep, your plan ready to be set into motion. You anxiously watched the giant clock in the center of the city, viewable from your window, the second hand ticking by, the pendulum swinging. That was the thing about Gildflå, Every city contained a clock with a big bell dangling in the center. No matter the time of day or night, there was always someone ready to ring that bell to mark the hour. You were counting on it.
You brought your sheet rope closer, taking a second to tie one end to your sturdy vanity. By the time you had finished you were 5 seconds from midnight.
4...
3...
2...
The bell rang, the first loud ding of the night. You rammed your side into the window, holding your head back so you wouldn't get a concussion. Another ring, again you slammed into the window. And again. And again. And again. You threw yourself into that blue window as many times as the bell rang, and each time you felt as if you were getting closer to freedom. One last time, and...
the door creaked open. You whipped around, to see Ochako's shocked face, carrying a tray with cookies and milk. The tray clattered out of her hands, her expression unreadable as she took a couple steps back. "Ururaka..." you whispered, your eyes a silent plea. She rushed out, shutting the door behind her.
"No," you shrieked, running after her. You collapsed to the ground halfway to the door, reduced to a bundle of tears. It was over. No way you'd be able to make it anywhere once she told everyone.
You cried pitiful tears into your hands for who knows how long, before the door swung open once more. You looked up, ready to accept your fate, when you were greeted with the sight of Ururaka bounding in, sliding to her knees before you with a bundle of red in her hands.
She quickly and silently grabbed your basket from the table, unravelling the mass of red fabric. It was your dress, wrapped around a couple of healing potions and a loaf of bread. "Ochako," you started, watching her frantically stuff the bread and potions into your basket.
"Shh, there's no time," she whispered, handing you the dress. You quickly and obediently slipped it on over your baby blue nightgown, Nothing but confusion adorning your face. The second you were ready she lifted you to your feet, handing you your basket.
"The guards will wake up any minute," she muttered, grabbing your hand, running you out the door and to the window you always escaped out of. She put the guards to sleep? You saw them slouched over as you ran past, snoozing. That must have taken a lot out of her, she wasn't nearly as powerful as you were, given her status. "I...I thought you...Why...?"
"Like I said. I only want what's best for you," she panted, swinging the window open for you. You moved to jump out, but stopped as you sat on the windowsill. "I...come with me! You can stay with me, we can live there together," you offered, grabbing her hands.
She smiled, tears welling in her eyes, before she shook her head. "My life is here. I have a family, my parents...You can go, you should go. Life will be better for you there."
"I'll miss you, please," you whimpered, bringing her into a tight hug. Despite the mistakes she's made, she was your best friend. You loved her, like a sister.
She hugged you back, with all the strength she could muster, before whispering, "I'll miss you too. Don't forget about me." Then, she pushed you. You fell from the window as if you were in slow motion, her face contorted into a bittersweet smile as tears streamed from her face. you reached out to her, your dress flowing around you like the wings of a bird, golden shimmer drifting from your fingers to her as your magic returned to you. You landed in the hippogriff down, staring up at her with a bewildered expression. "Go," she shouted, before clasping her hands over her mouth. "Hey," you heard a voice shout, a guard, and she ran out of your view.
Go, Ochako. Run.
A guard peered down at you from the window, and you wasted no time climbing out of the hippogriff fluff, taking a second to flip him off, and climb up the wall. You could hear him and another jump out after you, and you could hear the doors outside open. A quick glance behind your shoulder told you that at least 6 guards were chasing you now. You jumped from the wall, and from there you ran. You ran like you would die if you stopped, because you just might. Not in body, but in soul. The wind seemed to carry you, pushing you forward as your angel sleeves acted like sails, your feet barely touching the ground. "
"Stop right there!" "Get her!" "Don't let her get to the water!"
You just kept running, looking back might be the end for you. You felt a hand grab at the back of your dress, but before it could pull you back, the person it was attached to tripped on a root. The forest, like always, was on your side. You kept going, the river in sight. A bird whizzed past you, and from the sound of it, said bird attacked a man.
You only turned around when you reached the river, facing the group of armed guards as they all dove towards you. You turned back around and balanced on the slippery rocks leading to the portal, the rainbow mushrooms never before looking so comforting. You jumped in, swimming in what was now the river in the Circle. You were almost there when a hand grabbed at your ankle, yanking you back down.
Not this time.
You looked down and kicked, getting the hand off...but destroying the mushrooms in the process. The portal was closed. forever.
You couldn't think about that right now, you had to get to the surface. You pulled yourself onto shore, spluttering before the water left you. You had no time to run, you had to get to Katsuki now. You were going to teleport, for real this time. Your body warmed, your heart swelled, as as you dettached from the earth glitter rained from your figure. It was as if a symphony of love and hope lifted you, and when your feet hit the floor, it was within the Forrmidūl palace dining room.
You ran around aimlessly, not knowing where to go as the only place inside you had been was the dining room. Walking through the halls, you found Kirishima, and you've never been happier to. "Where's Katsuki," you demanded, grabbing him by the shoulders. "Uh...in his room...? How did you-"
"Thanks, take me there, please?"
"...Sure," he finally sighed, a small smile on his face.
You were standing just before his bedroom door now, panicking a little as tears welled up in your eyes. Kiri had left you alone to give you time and space together, but now you just felt silly.
You had to get it together. You gently knocked on the door, preparing your big speech in your head, but the last thing you expected was for Katsuki to shout, "Fuck off!"
You should have known, that was just like him...still, his voice was music to your ears, a nostalgic song that made your stomach do flips.
Instead of saying anything, you just knocked again. Like an idiot. Who does that?
Finally, you heard him stand, stomping to the door.
"Katsuki, I'm so sorry, It'll never happen again," you started in your head, before the door slowly creaked open. There he was. The man that looked like the sun. Golden hair. Ruby red eyes. That muscular body. The love of your life.
You opened your mouth, but words escaped you as you took in his wide eyes.
All that emerged was a choking sob.
You reached for him, so afraid that he'd push you away, but found no resistance. You held him tight, like you might never hold him again, because you've learned how precious he is.
"I fought for this," was all you could manage to say between silent sobs.
He brought his arms around you, slowly, tightly, and you felt tears drip onto your scalp as he pressed his lips to your hair.
"Good."

CHANGED
GLIMPSES OF THE PAST || Accepting!
send CHANGED for a scene from my muse's past that represented a turning point in their life
He stood, hands balled into tight fists against the control panel. No matter what he'd done, nothing was changing, nothing was working. The despair he'd felt ever since he had been awoken from death never left him. He felt tense, his mind filled with the looping thoughts that nothing was going to change, nothing was going to work.
So what was there left to do when it could not be fixed?
There was only one answer that came to his mind. This was not the future his father wanted. This forsaken, accursed galaxy had taken so many things from him; his family, his past, the future of all mankind. He would make up for the injustice of it. He would make things right. But not through peace and compassion, not though compromise and unity. No. He would rid the galaxy of the blight that was The Imperium of Man.
"Home? Love? Family?" he mumbled to himself, his heart aching. "I thought that I had found them but how was I to know? It's a lie! They just abandon you and go!"
He slammed on of his fists against the console. The anger rising within him as he grips the sides of his head in frustration. "I will never be complete... I will never be complete. I will never be complete!"
The brilliant crystal blue of his eyes began to shift, changing to a deep crimson as red as the innocent blood the Imperium had spilled over the millennia. His marines sensed the change in the air watching the strange behavior, but all too quickly they shared the lust for vengeance and destruction of their Primarch. Brilliant red eyes stared back at Guilliman as he opened a vox channel to all signals in the galaxy.
"Imperium of Man, this is your Lord-Commander speaking. A new age is finally here. There's a debt that's owed, justice to deliver. You'll be forced to right this wrong. Yes, starting now, you finish last. The time is up, the die is cast. So run and hide, and do it fast. Cursed to suffer, this I vow. Let this be a sign, justice will be mine. I will have vengeance for my past."
The transmission cut there and cruel smile pulled at the corners of his mouth. He turned to look at his men, the smile looking much softer to them. "But you're the special few, blessed to join my table. We will destroy the abomination that the Imperium has become. We will right the wrongs. We will have justice!"
And his sons all cheered.

i was tagged by @redgoldblue. thank you!!
Rules: List 10 songs you really like rn, each by a different artist, and then tag 10 ppl to do the same.
i’m interpreting “really like rn” as “have actually listened to intentionally multiple times in the recent past”, not necessarily as “think are the pinnacle of music”. i’m saying this because a decent percentage of this list is just straight up the top gun soundtrack and i’m pretty sure someone is going to notice.
pink cadillac - bruce springsteen
how silly can you get - nick rivers/val kilmer
danger zone - kenny loggins
joshua - dolly parton
sense of humor - darren hayes
take my breath away - berlin
dirty work - steely dan
like the way i do - melissa etheridge
great balls of fire - jerry lee lewis
i’m probably not going to hit 10 but here are some names: @littlestarsailor @girlonastring @smileylover99 @dannosteve223 @eg515 @spaceradars
as always, feel free not to do this if you don’t feel like it!

pulled aside by my father to watch a homophobic k&p sketch and just had to sit there like 😬 and then when i explained it was homophobic he was like "i fear for your sense of humor". christ alive
#look idk anything about k&p maybe they've gotten better. not the point#it's the one where there's a pop duo singing a love song to a crowd of women and one of them keeps coming onto the other guy despite him#being obviously uncomfortable for like. two minutes. and then when the queer guy gets too into it and starts singing about the other#artist's bald head he backpedals and starts singing about being cartoonishly straight#thats the whole thing#the joke is 1. gay guy can't catch a hint and makes straight guy uncomfortable by hitting on him or expressing interest in him#(classic homophobic joke. probably don't need to explain that)#2. when everyone realizes what's going on gay guy stumbles back into the closet in an over the top way#and when i pointed out point 1 to my dad he was like 'i fear for your sense of humor'#im gonna shit bricks#[father's first name] [father's last name] be fucking normal for one second challenge (possible but he's a proud asshole so he won't do it)#i spent so long haha yeahing my problems with what they did away that now whenever i challenge them even slightly and see that they#will not reflect and will not change it's wild. i explained why this was homophobic (less clearly than here but still) and he was like. :/#youre no fun. like ok i actually tried and it Is That Bad. sheeshhhh#the answer is probably to keep trying until they get it bc they think they like queer people but that's. a lot.#(they in this case = my parents. just switched into a broader rant without warning my b)#he rewound it when my mom came out and when it seemed like i was gonna leave too so like... idk what that was about but it feels very#'now that our gay kid's out of the room. cishet wife with a similar sense of humor to me do you think this is homophobic?' to me#and hey maybe that'll be productive and reflective but uh. historically speaking? probably not.#i feel like im not doing enough to make them less shitty or at leaat to stick up for me n my brothers so i gotta keep going and doing more#and theyre not the worst people ever really. so i should do my part so to speak. but man it fucking blows is all#they're so annoyingggg#also why does he talk like that who does that. i mean. i do. but it's bad when he does it#and they ARE capable of change. i had to argue for trans people existing years ago and now they act like that never happened#(granted i was arguing from a cis transmedicalist perspective back then but like. still. (i have grown since age 13 if you can believe it))#so theyre pro trans in a superficial kinda way. which is something. i just wish they'd acknowledge that they were wrong literally ever#it's happened once that i can think of. twas my dad#theyre like emotional and ideological brick walls it's insane#ugh. god gives his most frustrating softcore bigoted parents to his swaggiest gay transsexuals i guess#man what a post to be making soon after the daig o one. what a coincidence that that post materialized with no influence from my life haha
