Peace to Eddie Brock seemed to be an entirely foreign concept. His whole life was one shit storm after another, there had never been a moment of calm between his abusive father, his struggles in school, the endless fight between him and his bosses, the breakup with Annie, and then discovering Venom. He supposed he chased the chaos, needing that dose of adrenaline and fear in his blood to remind him that he was still alive and fighting.

But the second that you came crashing into his life (quite literally too, you hit Venom with your car), all he had known was that he could finally breathe. You pulled him from the fire countless times and this weekend was yet another one of those times.

Eddie had begun to get lazy in controlling Venom, letting him do what he pleased during nights when Eddie simply couldn’t be bothered to even wake up to go on patrol with him. And as a result of that, Venom accidentally ate the head of the leader of the most powerful gang in San Francisco so the three of you had to lay low for a while. Using the last of your savings, you bought a shitty cabin in the Rocky Mountains and settled there with your boys.

The whole day had been spent in silence but it was far from uncomfortable, for you at least. Venom and Eddie currently weren’t talking to each other though both seemed adamant that they stay close to you as the sun began to set over the mountains and the chill started to creep in through the poor insulation.

Eddie’s head rested on your chest, his thick arms wrapped around your waist as Venom had nuzzled into your neck, purring happily every time you gave him a small peck between his huge milky eyes. Your nails trailed up and down Eddie’s bare back, tracing every imperfection on his skin, slowly easing the stress from his body.

All he could hear was the steady beat of your heart beneath his ear. Eddie smiled softly, rubbing the tip of his nose between your breasts. You giggled at the feeling and dug your nails into the small pudge of fat at his hips. “What’s got you so affectionate, Brock?”

“Jus happy.” He muttered, squeezing your waist even tighter than before. Venom nodded against your skin in agreement.

He is right nibble, we are very happy.

“So you guys are finally done with the silent treatment to each other?”

“No.” No. You raised an eyebrow at your partners to which Venom chose to continue speaking. We just love you, that is all we agree on. You rolled your eyes at them.

“Are you sure you’re both not just sucking up to me because you think I’m mad about having to quit my job and go on the lam?” Venom growled at that, making the entire bed rumble with the force of it as Eddie felt his blood pressure start to rise. Yet, no part of him felt that usual tensing of his muscles or pounding in his ears that usually came with anger, just a buzzing in his veins that only appeared in your presence.

You said you weren’t mad. Venom pouted, making you coo at him.

“Aww baby, I’m not, I promise. I just like teasing you both.” The chill in the room didn’t stop Eddie from sitting up between your plump legs, the thick duvet that had been covering you both falling away. Your eyes, though they still sparkled with mischief, grew darker as you looked at the half naked man currently towering over you. He smirked when your gaze dropped to the old sweatpants that sat low on his hips.

Venom slid back into Eddie but you knew he was lurking below the surface, waiting to strike. “Do you now?” You captured your bottom lip between your teeth, barely managing to suppress a whine at the deep timbre of his voice.

“Well, I think it’s only fair. We’re in the middle of nowhere and you didn’t let me keep my phone. I have to entertain myself somehow.” Eddie’s muscles rippled as he leaned forwards, pushing your soft body into the mattress, keeping you pinned exactly where he wanted to.

We can smell her. Venom purred in Eddie’s mind. “Yeah buddy we can.” He agreed, taking in a deep breath and letting the thick scent of your arousal wash over them.

“The last time you two had a secret conversation in front of me, it led to me getting shot at.” You snapped though there was no bite in your tone. Eddie groaned under his breath and rested more of his weight onto you.

He gripped one of your thighs tight enough to bruise as he brushed his lips against the shell of your ear. “Oh you’re getting pregnant tonight. Fucking brat.” You shuddered beneath him.

“You’re all talk.” Venom snarled and a black tendril shot out from Eddie’s side, wrapping tightly around your wrists, pinning them to the bed above you.

“Try us.” Their voices moulded together and you smirked.

At last, Eddie Brock had his peace.

HERE COMES NORT, YAPPING ABOUT FANDOMS THAT I’M NOT EVEN IN!

(And i’ll be typing the rest here because there are too many slides so read bellow)

My LONG ASS rant on how MHA (among other things) fails to present its ab*se victims in a good way,

Starring the todoroki family

So, i know literally no one cares but i feel like it needed to be said: but MHA has a BIG issue with victims of abuse being treated kinda shittily, to making whole arcs about their abusers.

This isn’t a HUGE thing, as the lack of sympathy for Hawk’s abusers was definitely there, but they still were portrayed in a semi-sympathetic light. This is not the main focus however.

I’m sure many could go on and on about Bakugou and Midoriya’s relationship, but thats not what i’m focusing on.

I’m focusing on the most OVERLOOKED and ABHORRENTLY handled dynamic of the Todoroki family

I will be going over each of the characters and why they suck in some way, but as a whole i have to talk about this: Each one of the characters of the family are all victims of abuse in some way, and represent the different ways that trauma affects the victim, i understand that.

All in all, they do a good job of portraying the different ways in which the people handle abuse,

Endeavor being one who never dealt with his past egotistical superiority complex and threw his baggage onto his family/children to live vicariously

Rei being the one who is emotionally/physically damaged to the point of a mental break

Touya being the ex-golden child, and the one who continued the cycle of violence (and misogyny but thats another topic for another paper)

Fuyumi being the one who holds onto an idealized version of a family that possibly only existed in her dreams, being codependent and longing/working to get those “happy times” back with her family, clinging onto smth that was possibly never there

Natsuo being the one who is (justifiably) angry at his abusers, cuts his family off and goes to pursue his own life/dreams

and finally shoto

the one who realizes his role as the golden child is only for his parents to live vicariously, breaks his cycle and is trying to figure out who he is.

These are all great representations of how people cope/handle trauma, and i believe that was on purpose, considering that it also speaks on abuse of children on baselines of being in a famous family.

However, certain aspects are clearly not handled properly; allow me to explain.

Shoto, the youngest of the family, is often seen as the architect of the abuse, as the family was actually quite “fine-living” (i’ll come back to this) before shoto was born.

There were obviously cracks in their family from the beginning, Touya being the golden child despite not being able to physically handle his own power without hurting himself (an allegory i’ll discuss), the fact that Enji (endeavor) basically bought his way into marrying Rei, and of course enji’s complex of being less than All-might.

However, many characters seem to blame the birth of Shoto for breaking the camel’s back, and starting the domestic violence that had already threatened to spill through.

It’s shown through the anime that shoto has a kind heart and never liked enji, due to the fact that he would harm him, his siblings, and his mother,

but for being the tritagonist of this show, we never get to see how he really feels. In all of this, perhaps we could see him feeling guilt for being the reason his family is broken, the possible resentment yet dependency he has for his father, the thoughts on how he feels conflicted yet guilty about his mother and continues to blame himself.

Its interesting how he never stops blaming his father, but regardless we only get his apathetic views on his father and no one else. Its saddening to see the sideline of the victim of abuse while his abuser gets a whole arc. But i’m not there yet.

Moving on we have Natsuo and Fuyumi. I grouped them together because they both have opposite ways of dealing with their trauma, as Aforementioned: Natsuo tries to cut all ties while Fuyumi tries to be a “normal” family with her remaining members.

Both of them have valid ways to why they act this way, and its tragic, however, the way they deal with their youngest sibling, shoto, is disheartening to say the least.

Both of them understand how Shoto was physically abused since he was 5, and neglect to form any sort of connection with him despite his better efforts in natsuo’s case, using him as leverage against his father and nothing more, while in fuyumi’s case, basically presents him in her fantastical version of him in their fantastical “perfect” family life, causing him to have multiple meetings with his abuser and forcing him to relive the trauma so she can have peace of mind.

In hindsight, this is all interesting heavy topics to explore in a character, and i was honestly curious to see how it would be handled

however it all faltered as soon as I saw the hospital scene.

SPOILERS:

After Dabi’s Dance, the todoroki family comes to visit Shoto and Endeavor in the hospital, both of whom are heavily bandaged and bed-ridden.

Despite this all, Rei, Fuyumi, and Natsuo force todoroki, who is burnt and recovering his voice, to get up and walk over to his father’s ward to speak to him.

Shoto, despite being unable to form full sentences, makes it FULLY CLEAR he does not want to be there, by closing the door to his ward, and attempting to leave. Despite his clear efforts, his family makes him go in to talk to him.

this 16 year old boy being forced out of RECOVERING, fully bandaged and barely able to talk, forced to visit his abuser to hear him cry about not being able to fight his own son, depsite also being his son and physically harmed by him since childhood.

In my opinion that wasn’t a good move on any of the family’s part.

Rei is a difficult subject to discuss. She is clearly a victim and has been for. while. She is mentally distant after being harmed for so long and spent time in a psyche-ward to handle herself.

Saying that she was a bad mother would be too far in my opinion, as she did her best to provide a nice life for her kids as well as defend them from her husband.

Not much is said about her, but from what we can tell she loved her kids very much, until the abuse started.

I feel the blame for shoto began with her, not being able to face her own son after the “death” of her first and the fact that his face reminded her of the abuse she’s faced from endeavor.

Her character is honestly an interesting one, but she is not safe from my scrutiny of the hospital scene. She was very brave for facing her abuser like this, however, she did not have to drag her bedridden youngest into the fray.

She is the DIRECT reason shoto has a scar on her face, (indirectly endeavor’s fault)

But i will never blame her for the abuse she faced for her children, by her husband and to an extent, her own son touya, which leads me into my next point

SPOILERS

Touya, aka Dabi, is the “Late” eldest brother who was originally Endeavor’s ticket into living vicariously to defeat all-might and be the number 1 hero.

I could go into the psychology of his character but he is ultimately very interesting. In all honesty the way he is presented as being the consequences of endeavor’s actions is palpable and honestly quite raw. At a young age, he was handling the pressure of being his father’s perfect creation, and the fame and fortune that followed as he sought his father’s approval. Soon, his quirk began to burn him every time he used it, a fact that endeavor ignored to pursue his goal. Touya’s power became self-harm at some point, an allegory for his disregard for his own life and well-being for his father’s dream which ultimately (literally) exploded on itself.

Touya’s story is interesting, from his abuse causing him to act like his father craving his approval, which lead him to act put against his mother and shoto, while laying his baggage onto his younger siblings, to losing his mind and realizing that he wanted his father dead and continuing the cycle of abuse further.

This is all a deep and interesting way to look at abuse and how the abused may become an abuser, HOWEVER.

MY critique here, is how sidelined his whole arc is, as his story is more portrayed of Endeavor’s past coming to haunt him, all for the watcher to sympathize with endeavor rather than understand how the abuse endeavor put onto touya made dabi. This whole arc was framed to be sympathetic towards endeavor, and to fear Dabi. Don’t even get me started on how Shoto’s feelings meant nothing in this arc, as well as being immediately cut off by a surprise cameo of a character that possibly discredited Dabi’s expose video on his abuser.

Finally, we get to talk about the elephant in the room: Enji Todoroki, endeavor himself.

What is there not to say about this man.

I feel I should start eith the obvious:

The forgiveness/sympathy arc for endeavor was quite possibly the worst thing to ever happen in the anime, and this is not subjective.

The whole arc is based around how Endeavor is a victim of his own mind and is trying his hardest to make up for being a terrible person.

Personally, i love to see character arcs of villains becoming a better person, but thats the very thing: Endeavor is trying to ask for forgiveness from his family, who he abused for 15 YEARS. This is no exaggeration as Shoto is now 16, and his cracks started forming as soon as he was born.

Endeavor had illegally married a woman that he basically bought his way into,

was illegally “breeding” (eugh) for quirk benefits,

Treated one of his son’s like a vicarious version of himself

Physically abused his son (age 5+) his wife, and verbally abused the rest of his children

isolated his son

treated his son like a weapon

and finally felt too prideful for any sort of meaningful apology.

This all adds up to a character who only felt sorry for his actions after the consequences started hitting him in the face, as he only felt remorseful when Shoto refused to be associated with him.

Now, some of you may be thinking: “A lot of characters are forgiven for more, why would he be the exception? It’s fictional why do you care?”

There are several reasons to why I care but i’ll speak in terms of framing for now. This show is highly influential to not only kids (as it is a KIDS SHOW) but to adults as well. May i direct your attention to the man who saved a woman from a murderous ex-boyfriend by blocking his machete hits all because My Hero Academia inspired him to take action and be a hero?

Or how about a murder that took place because the accused was inspired by an invader zim episode (the dark harvest)

Whether you like it or not, fiction HAS an affect on reality. Yes, we can determine what is real and what is fake, but you cannot deny that a lot of what media we consume helps us be who we are.

If the show promotes more sympathy towards an abuser than their victims, then people may find themselves sympathizing real world abusers over the voices of victims.

I wont speak on delicate subjects but I can already see affects of this happening, as people rally to defend famous people accused of being abusers rather than listen and provide support to the alleged victims.

In conclusion, These topics are definitely not easy to write, and I, for one, am NO expert and my word should not be used as gospel truth or a guideline on how to write these characters.

This is all simply my opinion on how the bias towards abusers in the show leads for the message to be skewed and marred in action.

I understand that no one is perfect, but if we only reward and sympathize with those who only seek redemption after they face scrutiny, then we lose the meaning of what makes someone worthy of forgiveness.

These topics are deep and interesting, but the way they are handled in this show is simply bad writing.

Ah fuck it Changes I would make to mha if god came down, pt 2

Fuyumi Todoroki should have been a hero and the more I think about this the more I will die on this hill. A) there's a severe lack of important female heroes and while Fuyumi is a side character I would have her take Endeavwhore's place in almost ALL of the times they fight Touya, both to give her more presence and because Touya being 'taken down' in any capacity by his abuser kind of sickens me. B) I want Enji a lot less present in the Todoroki plot than he currently is, even if he still gets some kind of a redemption. Fuyumi being a hero could both take his role physically and ALSO would give Shouto an actual reason for wanting to be a hero. C) I've always wondered like... why exactly Shouto would continue wanting to be a hero as he distanced himself from his father. His admiration for All Might doesn't seem like a good enough reason if his entire life has just been so isolated to only a few people and the major presence in his life his is abusive father who he's only ever seen misuse the power he has as a hero for his own gain. Fuyumi being a hero would actually give Shouto another hero role model to look up to, another reason to only use his ice, and give him a CONTINUED reason to want to be a hero. D) Also, Fuyumi's supposed to represent the 'fawn' response to abuse, and so her actively trying to do exactly what her dad wants and make a hero of herself and STILL be overlooked and discarded by him could really hammer in how Endeavwhore doesn't actually give a shit about any of his kids, even if they do what he wants; unless they're strong enough to beat All Might *with fire* like he wants he doesn't care.

I'm changing the entire entrance exam. It emphasizes entirely the wrong thing - killing things - above what heroes are actually supposed to focus on: saving people. If your hero school and society puts such an emphasis on 'taking down the bad guy' as opposed to saving people as heroes are supposed to do, that should actually be a point of discussion. That said, even if hero society still emphasizes defeating villains and looking cool for the camera above saving civilians, I'm changing it anyway:

Paper portion is the same as we get very little detail on it. My only change is UA students are tested on three foreign languages as well: English, Chinese, and Korean. They're expected to have a high level in all of them, mainly to add emphasis on just how hard UA is to get into (1 in 300 acceptance rate is fucking INSANE)

Practical portion!! This is completely revamped. Instead of the robots, current UA students are used as stand in civilians during a villain attack in a simulated urban area (a la the canon exam). There's only one giant robot, a few smaller ones, and the zero pointer. Students are put into groups of ten and are tasked with working together to rescue as many people as possible and take down as many villains as possible. Villain points are still emphasized over rescue points (which can now be gained from rescuing civilians and taking down the zero pointer, though very few do the latter), and the UA students are given pathways under the simulated area they can escape to if need be for safety. The practical feels more well rounded and realistic this way.

Also, this gives Shinsou an actual reason to be pissy about not getting into the hero course; the reason he got so few points in the practical was because as soon as the other people in his group found out about his quirk they refused to work with him, tanking his chances of almost any villain points (the mini villains are also robots). It also actually shows discrimination against people with 'villainous quirks' in hero society, something Horikoshi bought up but conveniently forgot about.

Kaminari doesn't have Whey Mode, it's a huge weakness and it's insane no one ever takes it seriously because of how big a safety risk it is for him. He can give himself nerve damage or kill himself if he uses his power too intensely, yes, but that's it.

Iida Tensi actually dies after being attacked by Stain.

Inko Midoriya is told about One for All and All Might's identity. She deserves to be in the know and it gives both All Might and Izuku another person for their support systems; she's the main character's only parent and yet she's so uninvolved in everything. It's disappointing. She would get more of a chance to voice her worries to both Izuku and Yagi, and she and Yagi could actually develop a friendship, which in all honestly Yagi really needs.

Momo is Class President and Tenya is Vice President.

Also like... Momo actually gets a chance to show off how powerful and strategic she is before we see her weaknesses hurt her. She's one of the most potentially powerful character in the fucking show die to her ability to literally create anything and yet we barely see what she's capable of before she is functionally rendered useless due to the author's inability to write female characters. I do like her arc about how her insecurities can get the best of her in the worst times and overcoming it but I want to expand on that. I want several scenes of her being academically and physically fantastic, top of her class, winning spars and overall seeming like the perfect up and coming hero, and THEN in the Sports festival, where she's one of the last few players, that's when we see her freeze up for the first time when one of her plans goes completely out of wack. And then, later (bc I'm putting the first villain arc as the Stain arc so USJ happens after that) when they're attacked for the first time, totally unprepared, she freezes up again and is saved by Jirou. This establishes her weakness - when she's in a situation she hasn't planned for or can't control she freezes up and that gets the best of her. Her arc is then learning how to better improvise in the heat of things (possibly becoming closer friends with Midoriya due to his ability to do exactly this) which she gets to show off during the Final Exams.

Also GIVE NEJIRE MORE PLOT TIME. Her, Mirio and Amajiki are meant to be a TRIO. I want her to get just as many fight scenes and emotional scenes as the other two, and let her be an inspiration to some of her younger classmates as well who also may have less conventionally strong Quirks, like Uraraka or Hagakure!!

Speaking of which: let Ochako be overpowered god damn it. Gravity manipulation is ALWAYS op (just look at Chuuya from BSD) and yet Ochako's never allowed to be just as powerful as she really should be. She has the potential to be one of the strongest characters in the series - she could basically neutralize as many hits or weapons as she could touch, could crush people into the ground with gravity, make herself or other people faster by making their feet lighter, or any other number of things but we never get to SEE IT!!

Also Ochako's foil is now Twice and Hawks kills Toga instead. I love both of them but Twice is unquestionably the more interesting character between the two from a narrative stand point and makes a very good foil to Ochako.

Hawks should have been used as a scapegoat for the Commission. From the beginning we've seen how he was basically brainwashed and conditioned to see everything they did as right; yet even when given chances to go against them that people in situations like his did take he continued looking up to them and supporting their actions. Like maybe after Dabi released the video of him killing Twice; the Commission uses him as a way to be like "hey, see!! We're the good guys!! He's the bad one so he's gone now!" Hawks killed for them and believed in them till his end and his reward would be either dead or as good as, a scapegoat for a mission they gave him. A tragedy of his own making, because he had chances to step away from them but chose not to. It would also be used to show how while the Meta Liberation Front aren't the good guys... well, neither are the HPSC. Like, at all.

What am I feeling today?

dreamt again despite my best efforts, prayed over it a lot. feel sad, let down. traveling today but my parents can’t come with us. tried my best but my dads in pain and I sympathize. I know he wishes he could have come and it’ll be hard to be away from them, so yeah overall just sad and defeated. at least I get to go back to my home city 🥲

Prisoners of Hope

Trauma is subjective. If you feel as if what you went through was traumatic, it probably was. However, if you feel that your experience wasn’t traumatic, you may or may not be correct because trauma is tricky. It hides in the dark and trips us up when we least expect it. It tries to convince us that what we experienced was normal and to minimize it while stacking itself up against someone else who “had it worse.”

I tend to minimize a lot of what I have experienced by saying it wasn’t that bad. A therapist of mine once told me that just because someone may have had it worse, that does not erase my experience. I still endured pain and it still had an effect on me.

By its simplest definition, trauma is a deeply disturbing experience or series of experiences. If you have been abused (mentally, physically, spiritually, or sexually), been neglected, lost a loved one, survived an assault or natural disaster, or even lived in close proximity to someone who has experienced trauma—you have experienced trauma.

There’s a book I bought about a year ago. I bought it because upon reading the title, I started crying.

This stood out to me. I find myself as a very science based person. I’m in nursing and believe that there’s a lot of clinical reasoning behind what goes on in our bodies and minds. I have still yet to read this book but I want to because a therapist had also brought this up. My parents (especially my father) experienced a lot of trauma in their lives. And even if we ourselves have not experienced it, that trauma does carry on in our genetics (she used the example of how children of holocaust survivors had ptsd even though they themselves never experienced the horrors their parents did).

The first step in healing trauma is acknowledging its existence. We have to come to grips with the reality that what we experienced wasn’t normal. When we dismiss or excuse our trauma as simply a regular part of life, we deny its impact on us. We end up looking for remedies rather than getting to the roots of the problem.

This is something I want to continue working on. I spent some time talking to the women leader for the campus ministry about my life and experiences and she brought up that there were times when it sounded like I wanted to cry but denied it and therefore I was numbing myself. I acknowledge that now. A lot of times, I’ve tried over and over to relive and fix the trauma that I’ve gone through and in turn believed I healed. It hurts less sure, but it still hurts. And I think I just have a hard time discerning what’s healing and what’s numbing.

All around the world, God is redeeming what seems irredeemable: “He who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new’” (Revelation 21:5). Notice that God says he is making all things new, not that he is making all new things. God’s innate reaction to brokenness is restoration.

This is very comforting. He isn’t going to scrap us aside, but He’s going to restore us with what we already are.

Healing from trauma probably won’t bring you back to your pre-traumatized self because the scars will always be there. But the scars will remind you of what you’ve overcome. Someday, they will be a powerful testimony to others of what God has done in your life. There’s beauty in this kind of renewal. There’s richness in things that have been truly restored rather than cosmetically dressed up. In Zechariah, we read that we are “prisoners of hope” because God promises to restore what we have lost.

With this, I just want to further distinguish what in my life am I cosmetically dressing up and what has actually been healed in me. I feel as if my mind won’t allow me to go there even when I try. Heavy on this! I can have the habit of dwelling on the past, especially right now. I’m nostalgic, I miss some of my past, it saddens me knowing some things will never again be as they were. However! My hope should be what God reassures, He’s doing a new thing! In order for the new to come about, the old has to go!

I had a hard time understanding this so I went searching for commentary:

“Prisoners of hope” has reference to those who patiently waited for the kingdom of God. Paul spoke of himself in this terminology, “Hope of Israel, for which I am bound with this chain” (Acts 28:20); and in Galatians 3:23, he wrote:

Before faith came, we were kept in ward under the law (that is, prisoners), shut up unto the faith which should afterward be revealed. This is exactly the metaphor Zechariah used in Zechariah 9:12; and, although Paul did not quote this passage, he was surely familiar with it.

I think it’s just the hope that we have in our restoration in Christ. He washes away all sin and we are raised to a new life because of him.

I just want to get out of the way that my initial reaction was to laugh because of that meme where spongebob is like “write that down! write that down!!”

This is all written down for our benefit, so that we may know him better and know that everything that’s in the Bible is trustworthy and true. We can trust the promises He makes and as such relates to this in which He is making everything new!

hi i'm back from my bush sabbatical and have some things to say about shelby's vod last week.

every time i think of the abuse shelby has suffered, i am disgusted and angry. but more than that, i am in awe of shelby's bravery to come forward and tell their story. i hope they know that by bringing light to forms of abuse that don't seem obvious, that don't seem like they could ever happen to someone in her position, that people recognise danger in their own situations and are able to get themselves out of there accordingly. they are one of the strongest people in this space of the internet, and i hope they have friends at their side reminding them of that every day, because they deserve that care in their life.

as should be pretty obvious i don't want to spend my time pissing around and blindly supporting someone who could hurt another person in that way. speculation is ugly when it gets out of hand, but people better worded than me have pointed out that shelby has done everything in her power to make her voice heard without endangering herself further. i believe that there is a difference between digging into things we as viewers weren't supposed to know, and putting the pieces together shelby gave us. she said secrecy doesn't serve her anymore, it just serves him. so i will not continue to platform wilbur anymore. fuck him and everything he did to her. i say this not to make the conversation about him but because talking about and praising the art he makes has been a big part of this blog for the last few years and i want to make my stance extremely clear. i am glad shelby is now in a place where she could tell part of her story. i am glad and so fucking relieved that she is lightyears ahead of him now.

i'm not planning to go anywhere but as always would love to keep in touch with anyone who does via discord or something. this community is a beautiful thing and has bought me so much joy over the last few years. i won't let this ruin that for me. will be updating pinneds and stuff over the next while but please be patient because life is real busy at the moment and i know a lot of things are dug in real deep into the corners. i love you all and hope you are well. treat yourselves and each other kindly <3

I know no one will see this because no one reads my tumblr and that’s fine but yesterday was my wife’s 40th birthday and I took her on a day trip to DC and bought her a bunch of stuff and a couple really good meals and now I’m sure we won’t have rent money and the thought of calling my dad and asking him for the money I’m short is giving me major anxiety even though I am pretty sure he’ll give it to me. Imm honestly trying to keep my parents pretty far away from me these days because I know they don’t support my identity or accept me as their daughter and I just can’t stand continuing to show up for the emotional abuse and unsupportive attitudes when I’m 47 goddamn years old and it’s been going on all my life.

Buuuut on the other hand I also can’t seem to make ends meet even though I have two jobs and a goddamn Patreon (which has 12 supporters — who I love but I need more and have no idea how to get them). I probably need $3000 a month for Sara and I to live pretty goddamn well and I can’t fucking get there no matter what I do. She can’t work full-time due to ongoing chronic health issues and I just want to give her a good life without having to panic about money all the time but I can’t seem to do it. And worst of all, then she blames herself and says I’d be better off without her as a “financial burden” or whatever, completely ignoring the fact that her emotional support is the only thing keeping me from completely losing my shit right now. She’s the best thing that ever happened to me and I don’t want her to feel that way, but sadly, I understand why she comes to those conclusions. I just want to create a situation where she has no excuse to feel that way and I can’t.

This cis lesbian who is married to a trans girl my wife is friends with was all gung-ho about helping me do a new resume so I could get a better job, and back in January we got together on a weekend and worked on stuff and got a resume for me about 80% done. She sent me home with homework I needed to get done so we could finish it but life kept getting in the way and I needed to make money NOW to make sure our power didn’t get turned off, we didn’t get evicted, etc, and before I knew it three months passed and now the girl who was helping me isn’t talking to me anymore and I think she’s offended I didn’t prioritize my resume but it’s hard to do that shit when you’ve gotta work 40 to 50 hours a week just to keep from losing your place and whatnot. And I think the dream of making an actual good resume so I can try for better jobs is dead now, or at least that I’m on my own, and it’s so hurtful and terrifying but I guess I brought it on myself.

And right now I’m sitting on the floor of my bathroom typing this instead of showering because I have to go work with my one employee (yes I am a MANAGER at my main job and I’m still struggling this hard) who consistently refuses to gender me correctly and is also terrible at her job and I’m just fucking dreading it. So here I am.

Converting a battery backup to Lithium because I hate myself

I've got a whole bunch of battery backups in my home, one on each computer, and a big one in my server rack in the basement. I've also got a few out "in the wild" at some of my family's places. They're great, where I live in the northeast US, the power grid is stable enough that most outages are only minutes long, and these backups (technically called a UPS - Uninterrupted Power Supply) do a great job keeping computers running through them.

My issue is the batteries. They all run on lead acid batteries, aka the same kind that's in your car, and they dont last long in this kind of environment, I'm lucky if I get 3 years out of one. On top of that, their battery life detection is terrible, It's about a 50/50 shot whether I get a warning about a dead battery pack before the next power outage takes it down without warning. Keeping track of that with just one or two is annoying, let alone 10 of them!

Lithium UPS's exist, and theoretically last many years longer, but they are many times more expensive than a normal backup. I'd like to not spend new-car money replacing a dozen UPS units, so I did some math instead.

I have a husk of a ups (no battery), and I tested it out: the open circuit voltage on the battery cable is 27.6 volts, which just happens to be almost the exact voltage needed to float charge a series of 8 Lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePo4) batteries!

Why is that exciting? Usually when you think of lithium batteries, you think of lithium-ion (also can be called lithium-polymer) batteries. These are the batteries in your laptop and phone... And also Tesla cars. They hold more energy than a LiFePo4 battery, but are very sensitive to temperature, over and under-voltage, over-charging, and over-current conditions. Abuse them too hard, and they swell up and pop! That's why Teslas seem to catch fire more often than other cars: most other companies gave up range for a battery chemistry that isn't a ticking time bomb, like LiFePo4.

These LiFePo4 batteries can take a beating compared to Li-ion ones. Most importantly, they can be "float" charged, that is, left on the charger 24/7, without worrying about overcharging it and blowing caustic smoke everywhere. This is critical, because I'm attempting a direct drop-in swap for the old lead battery in this UPS, because float charging a lead battery is basically a requirement, and doing that to a Li-ion battery is asking for a fire!

Using a Li-ion pack would require a custom charging circuit, as the UPS's 27.6V is not correct for any configuration of Li-ion, and would either under charge the pack, losing me 50% of my capacity, or overcharge it, and make it explode. It would also have to stop the batteries from being float charged, again to keep the battery from exploding, while fooling the UPS into thinking a battery is still attached so it doesn't beep at me all the time, and my head is spinning just thinking about how that would work. Much easier to give up capacity for a simpler, and more robust battery.

This UPS can deliver 900 watts of power on battery, that equates to roughly 30 amps of current from the 27.6V battery pack. Adding a safety factor, I bought a BMS (Battery Management System) rated to 50 amps. A BMS is essential, as it offers extra protection against short circuits, over and under-charging and temperature cutoff. Also cell balancing, which keeps all the cells at the same level of charge during use (if they go out of sync-that's bad, is all I'll say for now). The batteries are rated for 120 amps continuous draw, so I am well under the limit where the cells would self-immolate.

With all that said, here's the guts:

Looking close, you might see that I had to cut some plastic out to make it all fit. That's an error on my part-I didn't measure right. If I make more, I'll definately be using a smaller cell, so it will be a proper "drop in" mod. Lots of drilling, cutting, and filing to make this all fit!

It took several hours to link up the cells, terminate the balancing wires (the small red spindly ones), and and stuff them in the battery box. That's a LOT longer than I was hoping it would take, but the on-the fly mods took a lot of time. but eventually, it all fit in, and I was able to test it:

It works! I unplugged it from the wall, and it stayed on! For now, I am in full helicopter parent mode, since I don't want to deal with a lithium fire, even though my math checks out and the UPS should never get the the point that these cells are ever "abused". I only leave it on when I'm in the room, and when I leave, I unplug from the wall, and remove the red lead from the battery, so no charge enters or leaves while I'm not there to watch it.

In theory, the only issue with this retrofit will be a useless runtime meter. The "minutes of runtime" meter is measuring the voltage of the battery as it discharges to estimate how much longer it will last, and the voltage drop over time is different for lithium and lead, so the meter won't be measuring accurately. Once I'm confident it won't explode randomly, I will likely install it permanently somewhere in one of my compters.

So because I liked the "Grey Gates" series by Vanessa Nelson so much I bought her other series "Taellaneth", which was 5 ebooks for 99 cents. Literally a steal, even if they possibly sucked.

they did not suck

These books had me hooked despite myself all week.

"The Taellaneth series" seems to be about elves (they're called Erith but they're basically elves. My only complaint about this book. Just call them fucking elves sheesh).

The MC is named Arrow, a word that is close in pronunciation to what the elves call her in elvish, which is "Abomination".

Arrow is half human, and was made a "tenured servant" (slave) to the rest of the elves because of her heritage. She is regularly treated like shit, beaten, barely fed, given the most threadbare shitty clothes, and is treated like the lowest of the low

However because she IS still elvish, she has magic (very strong magic) and has been extensively trained in its use, and if she had been a full blooded elf with rights, she would be a highly esteemed war mage with her own cadre of warriors

The story starts with her being sent to the shifkin (werewolves) as part of a murder investigation

The elves have been implicated and they must honor their treaty with the shifkin. However the shifkin hate them so they sent Arrow as she was viewed expendable and wouldn't be mourned if she was murdered by the shifkin in their rage

Book 1 is basically unraveling the murder and in the process they learn that humans have been summoning demons. Long Ago, humans tried the same thing against the elves and it was a horrific battle as they fought powerful demons loosed upon the land, barely winning. Now the ancestors of those same humans are trying again, and this time trying to frame the elves so as to start a war with the shifters.

Book 2 - Book 5 is Arrow continuing to get pulled into politics between the humans and elves because of her unique power - she's a shadow walker war mage, able to walk into the shadows and into the shadow realm. She's very powerful, so powerful in fact, that she created seals on her own power while she was in bondage so that NO ONE would know that she held such power because while in bondage she was oathbound to obey any command and she did not trust those motherfuckers one inch.

Shadow Walker mages are incredibly rare and none had been born in seen in hundreds of years. Her heritage denied her for so long, she honed her craft despite her own internal seals, and when at last she was free from her oath of servitude, she became a force to be reckoned with. For she could also sense and banish demons, which have been trying to breach their world again in an unseen war against all.

Arrow must survive against demons, politics and her own people while trying to save them and save the heart of the elvish lands, the source of all their power.

I really liked Arrow and enjoyed the story as she rose like a phoenix despite being beaten, battered, and almost broken. Her fierce loyalty, kindness, and indomitable will won her many allies and friends, which she never would have even thought to wish for in all her life.

My other complaint (besides wishing the author would just fucking call them fucking elves), is that I wish the story would have addressed her abuse more. Sure, some of the motherfuckers who hurt her died, but there was no justice. And the hurt she had endured was never addressed with Kester, the warrior elf who came to love her. Yes, there was initial miscommunications, and secrets hidden that later bit them both in the ass, but in order to understand her heart and the person that he pledges himself to, there has to be communication and trust. He has to know who her enemies are, who hurt her, and what her triggers are, what would currently hurt her.

Also I just really really really really really wanted Kester to just go full Riftan and vow to personally kill anyone who hurt Arrow. Like at least break some bones, maybe go full Bane and break someone over his knee like a glowstick. Maybe, perhaps, break someone's jaw or fingers. Like is that so much to ask???

Anyway, like I said, you can buy all 5 ebooks for 99 cents and the story kept me hooked wanting to know more.

She Died, and I Hate Pride: On Sera's Inheritance

The Sera Series: Exploring Sera's Character and Background

Warnings: Discussion of fantasy racism and a troubled adoptive parent and child relationship.

Well, she died, and I hate pride.

– Sera

Sera is a potential companion and love interest in Dragon Age: Inquisition, a city elf, a fun-loving prankster, and a senior member of the Friends of Red Jenny, a coalition of commoners across many cities in Thedas who band together to enact revenge for abuses of power by the nobility and help each other in small ways.

If you befriend Sera in Inquisition, you learn that she was orphaned as a young child in Denerim, too young to remember her parents, and taken in by a minor noble called Lady Emmald. Sera confides that she has negative feelings about her guardian because Emmald lied to her to protect her own pride. She bought cookies from a local baker, pretended they were her own, and told Sera the baker hated elves so Sera would never go there and find her out—with apparently no regard for the effect this might have on the young elven girl.

It's pretty clear from Sera's in-game dialogue that she doesn't like talking about her past. When the Inquisitor gains enough approval to ask her more about herself, she responds, "Suppose. It's embarrassing enough now, may as well."

As with much Dragon Age lore, the book's supplemental background on Sera comes to us in the form of some in-universe documents, a collection of information on Sera and Red Jenny. It has been annotated in the margins by Sera herself, responding with increasing annoyance to the prying into her background.

On the Denerim alienage where Sera is believed to have been born, she remarks, "Didn't go, stupid tree, didn't stay." This echoes her in-game dialogue when asks if she remembers her blood family. "Still no parents. I remember an alienage with arseholes. And hating that stupid tree. The one 'elves' always have."

The notes go on to report:

By her own admission, Sera spent some years in the household of a merchant of moderate holdings named Lady Taraline Emmald. That time seems to predate exposure to the Friends and ended with the woman's death well before the Blight. A particularly virulent wasting illness was known to have passed through Denerim during those years.

Sera's notes confirm this report of illness: "Makes you gray. And cold. You don't wish it on the worst people."

On Lady Emmald, the report continues:

...Emmald was likely her initial educator and provider. The taking of a ward is not unheard of for those who are childless but of means. Sera has admitted that the situation was mutually beneficial for a time, but clearly has mixed feelings about it now. The death may have caused matters to go unresolved.

To this, Sera adds: "She ruined cookies. Nice or not, that was shit."

The report continues:

The life of her patroness remains undocumented. It seems people are allowed to be lost in the wake of Blight, but matters of property rarely are. Sera is not named in the following records, but the epithet "Bequeathed" is occasionally used when a party is unable to be legally identified, as in the matter of elves and holdings outside of approved venues such as alienages. It appears that at one point, Sera may have inherited a sizable estate. That speaks to Lady Emmald's commitment to at least the appearance of the relationship. How Sera dispensed with it speaks to her.

Sera adds: "Never asked for it. Paid good sovereigns not to read any of it then, pay you even more not to read it now."

As the following page is taken up with various legal documents and notes pertaining to the estate and the will, her request was clearly not granted. (It is also only fair to disclaim here that these documents use a lot of of legal terminology, and referencing the legalities of a fantasy world at that, so I'm just doing my best to interpret them as someone not an expert on inheritance law, real or fictional!)

A document dated before the Blight is titled "Notice of Grant" and reads:

Subject: Estate and holdings on behalf of one Lady Taraline Emmald, deceased, to be placed in trust for Bequeathed, as indicated by will and testament.

It lists the value of Emmald's holdings, and an addendum notes that "Bequeathed" refused said funds, which were then deferred to trust.

So let's unpack this.

Elves legally have fewer rights than humans and even surface dwarves in Ferelden. They aren't permitted to carry weapons within city walls, for example. I can't find any direct confirmation that elves are legally barred from owning land and property, but it does seem to be implied by the wording of the above report: "when a party is unable to be legally identified, as in the matter of elves and holdings outside of approved venues such as alienages." If not explicitly illegal, elves living outside the alienage or owning property would certainly be frowned upon by the nobility; even Emmald's taking an elf as a ward might have been at the least socially questionable, and naming one as her official heir would certainly have been, at the least, politically unacceptable.

The key thing to note here is that Sera did not inherit Emmald's estate outright. She would not have inherited the lady's holdings freely as a human heir might have done. Rather, Emmald's holdings were to be "held in trust" for "Bequeathed."

It is worth noting that with Emmald's death dated to "well before the Blight," and as Sera seems fairly young in the game, it seems almost certain that she was still a child when Emmald died. I don't think we have an official age for Sera but I'd have a hard time putting her over 25, and the Blight was a decade ago at the time of Inquisition. It makes sense for the inheritance to be held in trust for a child or even a young teenager. Furthermore, we can't know the exact terms of the trust as they are not detailed here and were never carried out. It seems likely that Sera would have been able to continue living in the estate and living off Emmald's holdings, perhaps on a fixed income.

She would not, however, have inherited Lady Emmald's title as a proper heir; she would not have been a Lady herself. And as an "undocumented" recipient of trust funds, Sera's allowance would have been taxed, "respecting precedent of holdings between legal title bearers and those remaining undocumented."

In other words, Sera could have lived comfortably on Emmald's money had she accepted it, yes. But with the perpetual reminder that it was not truly hers, and that she was a second-class citizen compared to her human neighbors, to say nothing of the harassment she might have received from those neighbors as an elf living alone in the estate.

When you look at the inheritance as a constant reminder of her lesser status, legally and socially, I find it completely unsurprising that Sera refused to even see the will.

And that's before we get into Sera's relationship with Emmald personally.

We have limited anecdotes from which to derive a picture of Sera's relationship to her guardian, and I don't intend here to push any single interpretation that I don't think is directly supported by the canon. Whether or not Lady Taraline was regularly emotionally abusive toward her ward is not, I think, something we can definitely infer. What we do know is that Sera's memories of her guardian are not fond ones, and that she generally remembers Emmald as someone who hurt her. The story about the cookies is simply the one that sticks out in her mind as emblematic of those feelings. I think it had to be more than just the cookies, but we can't really say exactly what. Given how young Sera must have been when Emmald died, though, and given that Emmald already anticipated, correctly, that Sera would reject the trust, I think it's safe to say the cookies weren't an isolated incident, and things between Sera and her guardian had soured well before her death.

I'll offer some speculation on a related matter, too, and that's Sera's dismissal of the alienage elves as "arseholes." Sera feels alienated by city elf culture just as much as Dalish culture; perhaps even mores so, since I question how many Dalish elves Sera has actually met, considering she's spent most of her life in big cities and outright comments at one point that she's not used to being out in the country—and Dalish clans aren't known for venturing too near cities. Yet it's pretty obvious that being told she's not elfy enough is a major sore spot for Sera, and I don't think that's come from nothing. While the Dalish may consider city elves disconnected from their culture and history, alienage elves have their own form of elven culture, with the vhenadahl or "tree of the people," a community elder, and various customs unique to the alienage.

And regardless of Lady Emmald's intentions, by taking in Sera at a young age, she also cut her off from that community and culture.

I don't want to get all the way into Solas territory here, implying that Sera has no agency in the matter ("Oh! You think the reason I'm not elfy is because I had no choice. Poor me, right?") but I can't imagine it wasn't a factor. Sera's very sensitive to rejection and being othered, and if she sensed any sort of distance or mistrust from other city elves (as might have been the case with her being raised by a human noble), it might have put her off from even trying to connect with that culture, and her rejection of it might prompt defensiveness from other elves in turn, creating sort of a vicious cycle of rejection and alienation.

Alienage elves are just as much "elfy" elves to Sera as Dalish, and just based on probability alone, I think it's likely that a large portion of Sera's sense of rejection, of being made to "feel broken" as she puts it, comes from her interactions with alienage elves.

And yet even as she was unable to connect with other elves, Sera would also have been constantly reminded that being an elf made her different, made her lesser, from Emmald's lie about the baker, to the way humans would have treated her in the marketplace, to that inheritance "held in trust for Bequeathed"—her social and legal status being such that she couldn't even be given the dignity of her name in her guardian's will.

Sera has felt othered and rejected by human nobility and by elven culture as long as she remembers, and so she turns her back on both. Rejects Emmald's trust fund. Picks up a bow, in defiance of city laws denying elves the right to bear arms. Finds solidarity among the common people, finds friends and the Friends and finally a place to belong.

As a sidenote, Sera's skill with a bow comes up both in the game and in these notes, with multiple characters expressing disbelief that she is a self-taught archer. And while Sera certainly might have a natural aptitude, I'm inclined to think there's also a touch of unconscious prejudice in that disbelief. Since elves in most cities aren't permitted to carry weapons, most probably don't get the opportunity to learn combat; some do anyway, of course, like Adaia Tabris and her child, but on the whole most humans will be unaccustomed to seeing city elves skilled with weapons, or at least showing off that skill publicly.

And as a further sidenote, legally preventing elves from learning combat doesn't only take away any means of defending themselves against human violence; it also effectively bars them from one of the major avenues of upward mobility in Fereldan society: entering the service of a noble and pursuing knighthood, which while dangerous is one of the most lucrative and respected professions a commoner can aspire to. Remember how Sutherland and his crew make a name for themselves as a mercenary company of the Inquisition, before starting a freehold (owning land) and getting titles—"Sers all around" as Sera notes in her journal in Trespasser? That's the kind of social advancement that knowing how to fight allows in this world. Make no mistake, the weapons ban is part of the social structure that keeps city elves in poverty. And in that context, the idea that an elf couldn't possibly be so skilled at combat without some great teacher is an assumption worth questioning. I don't recall human characters from humble origins being regularly interrogated as to who "gave them their skills." It's one more example of Sera being constantly othered and reminded of the limited lot in life which she is expected to occupy as an elf, and not stray from it.

(There’s more to say about Sera’s archery skills, but I’ll be exploring that further in a later post in this series.)

Emmald's estate lay empty until the time of the Fifth Blight, when it was seized by the Arl of Denerim and gutted, its contents "sold to fund efforts," including "miscellaneous structural elements... the removal of which compromised roofing." This was done under the pretense of Grey Warden treaties being forthcoming—presumably by Arl Howe and Loghain to fund their own war efforts.

Following the Blight, the Blight Reclamation Act IV seems to have permitted owners of property seized for war efforts to reclaim what was left, and at this time it seems that Sera finally returned to her childhood home. Documents report two neighboring outbuildings tipped over, two nightgowns ruined, a bill from the Gnawed Noble for food and drinks, and an "accidental" fire.

Sera subsequently surrendered all claims to the property, suggesting that it be distributed to "orphans or some [excrement]." She pocketed only 30 silver, the price of a week at the Gnawed Noble at the time according to the accompanying leaflet (though evidently, that bill for food and drinks was still outstanding, to be paid up by the estate).

The property was subsequently transferred to the Chantry, but in the aftermath of the Blight the Chantry was delayed in naming a Sister to manage the estate, leaving it vulnerable to seizure once again.

At every phase of this process, substantial legal fees and fines were deducted, until the estate balance was finally reduced to zero.

Sera's final annotation to this documentation is "Happy now? Better be."

These documents certainly paint a picture to me—a picture of a young woman returning to her childhood home, trying to work out her troubled feelings about that home and her late guardian in the only way she knows, trying to find some sort of peace—and in the end, just impatient to be rid of it for good.

When talking to an Inquisitor who's befriended her, Sera remarks that the Red Jennies were more family to her than Emmald ever was. "You know why? They didn't give two squirts about who or what you were. It was all what you did."

Several bluecheka started impersonating Elon Musk on Twitter to make some kind of point about misinformation and verification, so Twitter started suspending them. Impersonation is against the Twitter rules, and has been since before Musk bought it.

The privileged class felt that equality before the law was oppression. Indeed, some even thought it was fascism!

You wouldn't know a fascist if he danced naked in front of you, Lindsey.

Unlike one of my mutuals, I do not stan Elon Musk per se, but I respect him for having the right enemies. Musk's acquisition of Twitter really is pissing off a lot of shitty people, and they are making a lot of shitty complaints.

Some of the most blatant, IMO, are the complaints that Musk's changes might allow people to spout misinformation/disinformation on Twitter, particularly disinformation from the cover of a bluecheck -- but that was already a deeply entrenched problem coming from inside the house.

To recap: Olbermann is lying, Olbermann is lying about an important topic, Olbermann is lying in an unambiguously verifiable way, Olbermann continues to lie after being corrected several times, and to cap it off, Olbermann exists in a misinformation ecosystem of journalists and the like who have the gall to boast about their commitment to honesty and fact-checking, and award each other prizes about it.

That's the sort of aggravated misinformation which was on Twitter long before Musk, from verified sources, and it wasn't taken down.

May God strike them all with cancer of the tongue for the abuse they have put the gift of speech to.

In addition to the ones being projectively dishonest about misinformation, there's quite a few other general types:

The innumerate: "Musk could have used his money to solve world hunger!" No, he couldn't, that is the sort of nonsense believed by idiots for whom numbers over a billion are interchangeable with infinity.

The kafkatrapping: "Isn't it a bit fishy that you feel the need to write so much in defense of Elon Musk?" No. That is a wicked form of argument.

The wordcel: "Musk says he supports free speech but he [blocked me/suspended an impersonator/deleted spam email/other thing that sounds vaguely speech-related]." Do you want the Curse of Babel? Because this is how you get the Curse of Babel.

The worrying about things which already happened: "Musk might start to [revoke checkmarks/arbitrarily suspend people he doesn't like/allow hatred and lies on the platform]."

Special dishonorable mention for Robert Reich: "Musk has long advocated a libertarian vision of an uncontrolled internet. That's also the dream of every dictator, strongman and demagogue". I swear he not only said that, he got it past editors and into newspaper publication.

And finally,

The aggressively illiterate. Musk said "To independent-minded voters: Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic." and bluechecks started a circlejerk of selectively quoting each other that trimmed out everything before the first comma, everything after the second comma, as well as the word "therefore", and then paraphrased the out-of-context sub-sentence-fragment with headlines like "Elon Musk Says the Quiet Part Out Loud, Tells His Minions to Vote GOP". If you ever wonder why there's such a lack of nuance on the internet, I think This Fucking Shit Right Here is part of it.

Boy, there sure are a lot of loud idiots on the internet!

These seem a little different from the common-or-garden variety of loud idiot, though.

First, of course, is the Checkmark of Nominal Verification. C-o-g idiots generally don't get that. So many of these bluecheka are not merely wrong-on-the-internet, they are wrong with credentials, wrong about that same credential, wrong in a coördinated way about it, and recursively doubling down about the professional, verified, credentialed, expertise that bluechecks supposedly have, particularly bluechecks of a prestigious-sounding profession like journalists.

Second is a certain Orwellian-named coalition, and related coalitions like it organizing against Musk, where I have the sensation that these "coalitions" are more like... hm, "astroturf" is overused and it's not exactly "grassroots" they're pretending to be anyway. Let's go with "loudspeakers".

Loud, prominent, pushy, often sounding important and official but did you know you can just buy them?, pointless to argue with because there's nobody in the loudspeaker, the speaker element doesn't have its own opinion, there's a million outlets talking with a single voice, sometimes presenting as though it were a much larger crowd than it is, and it's indicative of a degree of coordination and infrastructure in the background that sometimes gets labeled "conspiracy".

And this framing also appeals to me because it lets me [compress/explain/predict] a lot of the complaints as metaphorically "I want sole control of the microphone." Musk has bought a chunk of loudspeakers, and the current broadcaster hates competition.

What are your Regulus Black headcanons?

Thanks for the ask. I'm afraid I am very firmly in the "Regulus was a baddie" camp.

He was always Walburga's golden son ("he was younger than me, and a much better son as I was constantly reminded"). Their whole lives Sirius was a scapegoat and Regulus could do no wrong. There was no logical reason for this, it was just Walburga and Orion's brand of abusive parenting. But it played the boys continually off each other and they were never close.

The whole family (including Sirius) had similar personalities - fierce loyalty and destructive tempers and cruel and hurtful to those they considered "less". Because Sirius was disliked, he was treated cruelly and so pulled away from his family, delighting in being "nothing like them" (on the surface). As Regulus was treated well he toed the line and believed in their ideologies ("I hated the whole lot of them: my parents, with their pure-blood mania, convinced that to be a Black made you practically royal . . . my idiot brother, soft enough to believe them.”)

The whole family (apart from Sirius) were very fond of Kreacher and treated him well, as they knew the value of a good elf. Regulus smoothed over the cognitive dissonance of treating house elves well and muggleborns badly by believing that house elves had a place in magical society (even if a lowly one), whereas muggleborns did not.

There was never really any question of him being sorted anywhere but Slytherin.

There was also never any question of him wanting to run away when Sirius did. He was happy at home and glad to see the back of his brother, who he had always found to be a terrible embarrassment, especially once they were both at school.

Walburga bought his way onto the Quidditch team in his second year by doing a Malfoy and buying the whole team brooms (this was done mostly to play mindgames with Sirius, whom she had never bought a broom for and who still rode a school broom). His first year on the team was disastrous and after that he was sent to Quidditch camp over the summer. He came back greatly improved.

As a Quidditch player and a pureblood from a sacred 28 family he was popular in Slytherin and increasingly influential as he got older. He arrived at school just as the first whispers of the mysterious Dark Lord were starting to circulate and - along with his friends - he became obsessed with him very quickly, starting a scrapbook and a shrine to him ("Beneath this was a collection of yellow newspaper cuttings, all stuck together to make a ragged collage. Hermione crossed the room to examine them. 'They’re all about Voldemort,' she said. 'Regulus seems to have been a fan for a few years before he joined the Death Eaters'.")

As the war heated up, he was part of a gang who terrorised muggleborns at school, and officially joined the Death Eaters at the end of his fifth year. Voldemort had already stationed some school age Death Eaters at Hogwarts, to lead the acts of terror, to recruit an to gather information - when they left Reg and Snape were the replacements. He worked as a spy for his last two years at school.

He did take part in raids, and killed and tortured people - though he never admitted to his parents the full extent of his activities.

He discovered the horcruxes almost by accident. He became aware that Voldemort had a secret, something he was not sharing even with his closest Death Eaters and - mistrustful and curious about the secrecy - started to poke around ( "I want you to know that it was I who discovered your secret"). He gave Kreacher to Voldemort as he thought this was the best way to find out what he was up to. When he realised he was disgusted and set out to destroy the locket. He turned against Voldemort as he realised Voldemort was only interested in his own power and immortality and that the ideals he espoused were a means to an end. He was horrified at the thought of horcruxes, as being a particularly disgusting brand of magic, but he didn't actually change his mind about pureblood ideology (

Okay one more thing I just have to get off my chest- very interesting that the so-called 'symbol for feminism' and 'embodiment of female empowerment' hasn't even said anything about the abortion bans or Roe v. Wade. Very interesting that she spent the last three or so days promoting a sketchy Loudwire list that called her a feminist while she stayed silent about one of the most anti-women crises of our time. Very interesting that she promised to include more females in her team then hired more males, one of which used to work with BVB, then erased the fact that her drummer was female for 'female surrounded by men' pity points. Very interesting that she promised to use her platform to support people of color then continued partaking in cultural appropriation, bought from, wore, and even endorsed racist DollsKill even after saying to boycott, and deleting all evidence of her marching and protesting for BLM when she piggybacked off the protests for performative points. Very interesting that most of her crew besides her drummer and makeup artist are White men. Very interesting that she hasn't said a single THING about female empowerment, sex-based discrimination, or what women struggle through. Very interesting that the only time she talks about sexism and misogyny is telling stories about herself that are actually false like being the 'Only female on Disrupt', saying that she was told by Universal that she 'can't write rock music because she's female' then continuing to write pop music even after she left, only writing rock music when sexist White man Avildsen told her to, and saying she was always told what to do, what to wear, how to sound and act, et cetera then never giving a single example of such. Very interesting that she degrades the term 'Queen' and promotes the term 'King' even though queens and kings are historically equally powerful and influential, the longest and most important reign was done by a queen, the term 'queen' was used for female empowerment for years, and Kings are some of the most toxic, abusive, oppressive, and misogynistic people in history and she preaches about 'not letting people tell you what you should be or who you are' minutes after she tells every woman in the audience that they're kings not queens which is also trans erasure. Very interesting that the only time she seems to care about feminism or 'Women supporting women' is when being a 'feminist' keeps her relevant like getting the attention of more famous female rock artists and other women are supporting her, never the other way around. Very interesting that she can't even spend less than a minute sharing a few links or posts about female discrimination or talking about REAL misogyny in the entertainment industry. Very interesting that she allows men to degrade and belittle other female rock artists just because it compliments her and posts about it. Very interesting that she copies off of many other female artists. Very interesting that she's part of a cult with many allegations of sex-driven discrimination, sexual assault, forced abortions, kidnapping, human trafficking, et cetera. Very interesting that her only 'feminist' song is less about female empowerment and more about personal greed and success, violence, hate, revenge, misandry, and wanting to be a man to be more successful and powerful, all of which are the exact opposites of feminism and equality. This is who Snakeys and writers deem a 'feminist'? And a female-empowerer? Sure. Give me one example of Juliet even speaking about misogyny or standing up for a female that's facing oppression then. I Almost Quit Spirituality, Here's Why

A Part of the Series Wednesday Journal Entry with Persphone's Lounge

When a few people I was familiar with began leaving the New Age Community, I was shocked. I couldn’t understand why they’d leave behind something beautiful, where people seemed so generous and welcoming. And even though today I still don’t agree with the direction that some of them went in, I actually get it. Apparently, you really can have too much of a good thing.

A lot of people started joining the New Age Community as an alternative to religion. We wanted spirituality without the dogma and indoctrination. Not to mention, a lot of us come from backgrounds of abuse and addiction, or from families who basically rejected us for being a weirdo. The New Age Community felt like coming home, a home that for a lot of us slowly turned into a nightmare. As much as it’s helpful in a lot of ways, it’s also a part of society that enforces trauma bonding.

I started my journey back in 2013. At that point, I was living with my mother who was a narcissist. Day and night she would yell at me, instigate fights and bounce between overbearing mother bear, to Mommie Dearest. Since there was no way to leave, I started meditating, and it wasn’t long before I learned about my moon sign, and everything made sense. The first astrologers I began following were Michele Knight and Nadiyah Shah. For understanding trauma and anxiety, I would watch Teal Swan videos, but something about her always seemed off, and eventually I unsubscribed after learning about her cult. It was clear to me that as a survivor of narcissistic abuse, I needed to be cautious around where and who I learned from. Fast forward a few years later, between surviving an abusive relationship and financial woes, my boundaries got a lot stronger. During the period after my ex and I broke up, I was doing astrology readings for people and finally bought my first tarot deck.

For me, spirituality is about achieving inner balance, but the farther I got along in my path, the more I realize sometimes we use spirituality for clout or to escape the real world. Cultural appropriation of things like yoga and certain deities, is the modern colonialism. The idea that Starseeds are supposedly often blue-eyed and blonde haired is clearly just another attempt to justify racism. The way some claim that politics shouldn’t be talked about ever, is really a form of spiritual warfare. And by spiritual warfare, I don’t mean in terms of a conspiracy theory, I mean that they’ll literally gaslight, harass, belittle, and judge you for even mentioning what’s wrong with the world. Instead of “love and light”, the mantra should be, “obedience and denial”. All this made me wonder whether I even belonged in the New Age Community in the first place.

Many times, I was getting into arguments. I’d get accused of being negative, too sensitive, and too stubborn, over issues that were very much valid. I’ve also blocked dozens of “coaches” on social media who kept on saying that Roe v Wade and Black Lives Matter were designed to divide the population, which was interesting from my perspective, because the last time I checked, the system was already designed to keep certain groups away from each other, based on gender, class, and race. I understand that sometimes spirituality is comforting, and can be a safe space from drama, but all throughout history, there’s a pattern of people in position of power telling the rest of us not to complain, and it’s this mindset that allows wars and inequality to continue. There’s also been plenty of people who are spiritual that got involved in human rights, like Martin Luther King, Jr. And yet modern spirituality is becoming more self-serving and less about actually helping anyone these days. It’s also clear to me that some just rather only take part in conversations that affect them, because apparently, nobody else matters anyhow.

These types of arguments haven’t really been a new experience either. Even long before I knew how to read a birth chart, I was a truth seeker. My family would get mad at me for being curious, and I’ve even had situations where random strangers would start yelling at me as soon as I felt uncomfortable around them, despite trying my best to keep composure. My intuition was already picking up on a lot of bs that couldn’t be swept under the rug, from as early as I can remember. The phases of the moon… nature… intuition…animals following me- the path was already written, and not only that, I’m also an artist. And a year prior to getting into spirituality, there was a student strike in my home province of Quebec, so I got into activism first, and spirituality came later. Sometimes people separate the two, but for me, they’re related, and to try and keep them separate all the time, would be like lying to myself. Especially when you think about how a hundred years ago, I would’ve been accused of evil, it’s hard not to stand up for justice. I’m not what you call socially acceptable. Practicing openly without fear is literally a privilege these days, and it’s easy to forget with the safety of social media.

i want to tell you a story

DISCLAIMER: i’m posting this bcus i thought this would be good material for poetry but i am very bad a writing poetry and felt the central message would be best communicated in regular storytelling mode

we have a cabin at the lake. my grandparents own this property as part of a very cheap (respectively) deal with the pentecostal church assembly that actually owns the land. this means there are certain rules about the community on our side of the lake and other guidelines that are more social expectations. for example: you legally cannot bring alcohol onto the property but you socially cannot even joke about this with most of the other residents (think WASP culture).

this weekend (may long) is typically known as the first weekend at the lake because it’s the best time to put in all the docks and boats that are removed in the fall to protect from freezing (we’re canadian). so every year there’s basically a party of everyone you know lifting all the heavy stuff into the freezing cold water for payment in food and dessert for lunch.

most people stay until monday but in true minimum wage fashion, me and my younger cousin both work on Sunday and had to leave right after the work finished. So she’s driving us back into the city and we’re talking about our family and the insane culture at the lake. One thing (of many) that bugged us both was the unofficial dress code for young women. My cousin and her non-religious bestie have been through frequent lectures from both my aunt and grandmother about covering up on their way to the boat. They shouldn’t wear just their swimsuits (to go surfing) they have to wear a t-shirt over top to walk (a distance of maybe 10m) to the boat. To the girls, it’s misogynist bullshit that they put up with as a small price for using a luxury they otherwise wouldn’t have access to (the boat and equipment). To my aunt and grandma, it’s about propriety.

Now, i’m gonna skip the discourse analysis on christian conservative (or even christian liberal) dogma and how this religion is inherently tied to the opression of women and protection of (even the creepiest of) men. You get it and you get why we were both ranting against it on the drive back to the city.

But some you might be a little bit lost on why would we continue to tolerate this behavior or engage with a community that fundamentally doesn’t respect us.

A) fun summer boat time where we control the music, the vibes, and how much ass we show in our swimsuits without anyone else’s input once we’re out on that water.

B) these attitudes are not as easy to get rid of as you think, and they have been passed down for generations.

Reason a) might not seem like a good enough one and you’re probably right about that. Reason b) feels like an even shittier excuse to let this happen and you’re definetly right about that. What I want to talk about is how (emotional) abuse happens and why the victims can’t just leave.

(And yes, this is emotional abuse. From my grandmother to my aunt and mom, to me and my cousins, this wound toward women has continued. The language and rules surrounding clothing and the female body has torn away at our self esteem, made us feel ashamed of ourselves, and taught us that our bodies are sinful instead of sacred. To do this damage to the confidence, self image, and identity of another person through your power as a parent is to abuse them.)

So why do I keep going back?

I was putting ice cubes in my water bottle today because it’s important to hydrate (at least I was going to until i realized that the cubes wouldn’t fit in the bottle i had chosen). Then I thought to myself:

“Wow, I wish i had some of the skinny rectangle ones like we do at the lake because they would fit perfectly.”

Right then and there, I realized that the reason we even have skinny ice cubes at the lake is because my grandmother bought the tray specifically for my aunts preferred water bottle. No one asked her to do this, and my aunt (ever the stoic) certainly didn’t complain about it or even verbalize the observation that the cubes didn’t fit.

I realized that these tiny acts of love (and yes, that’s what they are) are incredibly important to the culture of my family. They’re everywhere. From the ice cubes at the lake to the recycled hardwood greenhouse my dad built from scratch for me at christmas because i once causally observed that my apartment balcony faces the wrong direction to grow tomatoes.

I also realized that i have to acknowledge these as acts of love. If i act as if there are no positive moments with this family I will become incapable of recognizing the negative moments.

This is important because it is very hard to stand up to someone who has made it clear that they would spend hours creating (for you), that they would go to any length of effort (for you), that they notice things (about you), that they pay attention (to you), and now you’re going to go against them (for someone else).

How am I supposed to cut out a cancer that loves me? How does one tally up the acts of love and indifference? How do you decide what number of positives can outweigh a negative?

I know what my answer is and I’m confident that it’s the right one, but it made me cry anyway.

Manufactured Establishment Heel Turn and Outrage

The last blog I touched upon the Trump town hall a little bit but now that a few days have passed, and I have seen the discourse and the half ass analysis from supposed smart people in the “progressive” space has been one of the most infuriating things on the planet. If you hate monitor I say and write, that is like music to your ears to know a mentally ill man is being infuriated, because when “important” people pay attention to your shit even if the general public doesn’t know I exist, they get upset with me pointing out the probabilities of the direction of some of these personalities and I will admit it is disheartening a bit to see people who were respected and seemed principled now find a way to crossover to the side that is winning the narratives, they can promote shit online about how the democrats are scared and they are trying to suppress shit so no other candidate can get a chance, but if they didn’t want us to know about this, this would not be out there, in my personal opinion, if I look at this world like a sports entertainment company and see how it is implemented into the political discourse, more people get recruited into this system and become a lot more mentally unwell, they are addicted to the need to entertain, they are addicted to trying to stay relevant in any way possible that they will become soulless caricatures trying to insist their brand of comedic banter between mediocre hosts is what is gonna do it in the long run. The way I view this sports entertainment system is that there are people who own their respective countries, and then book the politicians who are more sports entertainers now more so than politicians, and if the bookers and owners are essentially right wing, and the system by default is a right wing trajectory system with different world champions, baby faces and heels, establishment baby faces and heels, they will book a supposed babyface to say some good shit and maybe try to do some good shit, but the company will still have you pump out heel tendencies that we are supposed to blindly forget but then the “cynical” right wing types will call out an establishment guy or gal and think the other bought off politician and public figure is the one pointing at the truth about the system, so automatically he or she is seen as the heel who the establishment supposedly hates, but you constantly hear about them, they are constantly being used to make a lot of fucking money even though they reflect what the system really wants, but we think because we are online and pointing out the obvious errors and the dumbed down shit, we think we are actually thinking for ourselves. The longer a lot of you want to pretend the online shit is just as mainstream as the MSM itself, the better we will be but people don’t want that, they want more people to suffer and continue to get worse, whether it is powerless cogs in the system to have piled on abuse mentally or physically or whether it is to cross over to the elitist side where your mental illness will be protected because you are around other mentally ill powerful people who are so rich and powerful, but their healing will never happen and they will get worse and make other people’s lives worse because they refuse to admit what they are. I never seen so many people who have made it and become a lot more rich still have such anger issues, they can organize a fucking cult to make things worse. Like I have said, eventually everyone eventually throws on an NWO shirt, only to be a background player to Hulk Hogan, sure you will stand there in glee as he pretends to play his title belt like a fucking guitar. So we have to now pretend the internet is an underground as it was in the 90’s, even though I have always felt the internet was created for the purpose of building a new mainstream, and maybe there were genuine opinions and ideas being expressed but in 2023 those days are long and gone and now everyone is a character and everyone has aspirations to just be characters. You will have a click and a cult that will tell you everything you are doing is hilarious and super interesting and then they will try to dominate the algorithm to pump your name up because it will get some kind of social currency. People think because the establishment does obvious shit, that is more on the democratic side when most of these dumbed down democrats are either falling on its face on purpose because they know it is inevitable for the world to turn into something we would’ve never thought possible, and it will be faction warfare, or they actually want the right wing heel to stand tall, and make it seem like it is only fair to hear Trump. It is a hack position to point out that he would’ve done the town hall somewhere else. You know what is the most disgusting shit on the planet and I know the people I am talking about are reading this because they are mentally ill mafia like people who don’t care about the people agreeing with them because that is how it is supposed to be, someone like me who is kind of pointing out how these supposed progressives have wasted everyone’s time and basically created “progressives” to then prostitute yourself to fucking invite Donald Trump on your fucking show. You know what are a soulless piece of shit, and because you can’t deal with the fact that you will no longer be a genuine human, and that any praise and stock on the rise for you will only be manufactured because you are going along with the right leaning side because you want to be protected and be a showbiz personality since the artform has been going to the right wing and it has always had right leaning fundamentalist shit in it, but now seeping into the world of politics where everything is a fucking reality show angle and everything is meant to be exploited. We have fucking mentally ill social climbers already coming up with discourse and culture wars incase Jamie Foxx dies, then it turns out he is fine and these were rumors, then they will take us on a rollercoaster and then it turns out it was a lie that he was okay, the system do this on purpose while people will pretend that random people are making up rumors, the system are the ones always in charge with what narratives are put out there, again just a personal opinion, but seeing how discourse plays out so other studio audience members can try to be part of the cast has been one of the most prostitute things on this planet. How will anyone get better if becoming “successful” in the world means you have to become this caricature that no one will really respect, you will be surrounded by other soulless ghouls who are gonna do the system’s biddings but be careful what you wish for because they will turn you into a storyline and recruit other social climbers to discredit you, if some of these online personalities can barely handle being thought leaders with limited pushback, you are gonna break down when you make it big.

So let me say this, this whole CNN establishment heel turn is like if John Cena turned heel officially, like people always knew there were heel tendencies that existed but now we needed an official storyline way to get there, And because the MSM have given you the impression that they hated Trump and are disgusted by him the last several years, and a bunch of political shit head analysts dumbed down Trump and generalized regular people for so long and pushed them more to the right, but they get credit for shitty Trump impressions and pointing out his obvious errors he makes so we can all laugh at him being an idiot but still thinking that some of his rhetoric has been dangerous in the most cartoonish way. But it always felt like the way these people were “anti Trump” was such a hacky and dumbed down way and purposefully ignoring the corruption on the democratic side which made a bunch of propped up accounts talk about how it is easy to go after Trump but you need to go after democrats, but it is actually easy to go after democrats because a lot of the ones who get traction are basically closet republican shit but because people fall for the sports entertainment of them opposing Trump, so people think pointing out these obvious errors that are there by design, means they are actually calling shit out, because it is basically like “OH MY GOD THE DEMOCRATS ARE FUCKING UP SO I AM GONNA PRETEND I AGREE WITH SOME MAGA SHIT HEADS WHO ARE TALKIING ABOUT POLICY AND EASE MY AUDIENCE TO ACCEPT A FAR RIGHT PERSON BY EASING THEM INTO THINKING THEY ARE NOT SO BAD” and this is not a defense of the democrats, but this 90’s reboot of our society has people actually thinking that this “indepedent” and “internet” opinion is where the genuine opinions are, when it has become part of the internet. So I didn’t buy that this sudden outrage from people about Trump being given a platform officially to make it seem like “it’s fair” when it hasn’t been fucking fair from the default. It has always been right leaning and now this was CNN officially embracing the current fascist ideals of where the world is going and even though people are now being concerned too late after he got all the stream, and has been allowed to function, those people are doing it for self preservation because whatever happens in the future and Trump will be the face of it, it will show in the history books that people did warn about this but they did it in such a way where they ignored people’s valid points about previous ideology they were espousing and the other war criminals they gave a pass to. So this was a sports entertainment heel turn for CNN and even the fact that people like TYT will act like “Oh my god he is the leading candidate, we have to listen to him” but a lot of you mother fuckers are guilty for promoting him while pretending you opposed them, you will claim not to be the establishment, but your fucking opinions are really establishment, if I knew a lot of you would end up becoming another shitty cog, I would’ve pointed out how uncharismatic a lot of you were in but because there was some genuine truth telling, I figured that is all that matters but now you are uncharismatic and taken the easy route to protect your image and relevancy and you think because you make the most half ass analysis about shit that it means you are supposed to be a thought leader and then because you can’t admit you have been frauds the entire time, you do the typical trope of a heel promo and do the “YOU PEOPLE MADE ME DO THIS, YOU MADE LEAVE THE LEFT” not because the far right wing billionaires are wagging big time money so you become another shitty personality that are a dime and dozen. Their excuse was “Well if they censor Trump, they will censor progressives” quite the Jimmy Dore level take, when they have been censoring and fucking over actual left leaning people and suppressing their voice, which you never hear as much about, you know who I hear about being suppressed all the time? The propped up figures who get nonstop air time and talked about all the time, these people who pretend they are promoting villains to want them to get theirs and pay for their crimes, you know from the get they won’t get theirs, you can keep teasing it. But you know it is basically to promote who are gonna be the talking heads in the future. Pretending Trump wasn’t already promoted for the purpose of making a lot of fucking money and social currency, you already have shown me that you are not someone who should ever be trusted. This is why sports entertainment is the most dangerous thing on the planet, you will support people who pretend they oppose the desired villain so you are still rooting for someone who probably has sex with that same villain behind the fucking scenes. But a lot of you crossing over can’t even admit you are joining the fascist side, you are so fucking cowardly about it, you have to convince yourself you are only doing the logical thing and that’s why someone like Ana Kasparian can do stories where she talked about how people were incited to do violent shit from listening to other content creators, and normally just making it an issue about “well are celebs who are regular people and play by regular rules, do they have the a responsibility of what they are putting out there, I think not, no one can force you to do anything” but if you assume that a lot of the system is a mafia system, and these propped up public figures have their own cults that are given incentive to do shit, and I have experienced it with the Stern Show people, who have instilled paranoia and talked about my demise and my death, and even monitor my thoughts and move my cursor to show they have some presence, but when someone like Ana/Cenk cover these stories, they now are of the belief of the charisma vacuum Libs of TikTok is not responsible for what people do, and it is fittinig because Ana is still butt hurt over being yelled at for her bad faith argument in a time where bills are being passed to fuck up that community, now she can basically give up her morals and principles and basically act like these people don’t have responsibility and they are just regular people and the reason I feel that Cenk/Ana and other shit heads they have created in the media space, is because a lot of the shit they report is basically kayfabed news essentially and they would be held responsible for shit they have organized and the ruse they have created, they want to do all the mentally ill things but don’t have the balls to face up to it. When you constantly talk about how your show is the only one that is keeping it real, then expect people to call you out on your subtle cowardly pivot to the right wing so you guys can be shitty celebrities who will never truly be funny but you want a cult to actually think you are even if none of it will be genuine. Your kids and family will grow up to hate you. They will claim shit like “Wouldn’t it be funny if Trump incriminates himself even more, and we can dunk on it” people have been dunking on it for the last several years, it hasn’t worked and you are now acting like “oh my god they are really scared of him” if they were really scared of him, we would’ve never heard of him to begin with. No one at CNN is outraged about this, this was just a way for them to justify why they had to embrace him. A lot of you know what you have purposefully helped amplify and use your “anti war” persona, as a way that people will think you are more credible, and would think any criticism of you would mean that it means they are pro establishment.

This political world comes off like they booked Donald Trump to be MAGA Steve Austin, and if that is true, then I could believe the system booked Tucker Carlson as MAGA CM Punk. See this is why the snooty higher society political types will look down on wrestling because if everyone watched wrestling and could see the elements. It feels like they have trained you to think that, because a lot of wrestling fans bought into CM Punk who might have some genuine good nature to him, but since a lot of people who hype him up are more right leaning and the entertainment seeps into political shit now, it feels like the perfect place to practice this kind of shit in this artform and even with online shit, that you can manipulate people into buying into someone’s anti establishment persona despite putting over other problematic billionaires, or normalizing more edge lord like shit in the 2010’s to cater to only conspiracy people, and this is how you get guys like Tucker Carlson to come out and people will agree with his truths on some level, despite being someone who is allowed to prosper in other areas because we think that it means he is against the played out legacy establishment institutions. Not realizing they are training you into accepting someone else who wants to have power and be the only one who benefits from it. These people want to become a religion. They want to be worshipped, Trump was like an Austin because he just give everyone stunners all the time even if it was not good storytelling at times, but we all think because it was an unpredictable time with so much intensity and vitriol being put out there under the guise of anti establishment, when eventually Trump will reveal he will shake hands with whoever the Vince McMahon in this situation is. We pretend because the system says they are against them and trying to destroy them and this person comes out looking stronger at this rate, you gotta wonder if this is all being done by design and we are just filling space until we get to the climax. But basically people will excuse the behavior now and now it feels like these insiders know the dems won’t do shit, so now out of desperation people in the “left” space will give the bare minimum respect for someone calling out corporate media when most shit is probably corporate media, nothing wrong with calling out the corporate media, but I have never seen this much of a push to call them out in 2023 because by now we all know they are corrupt, and even when it is called out, it is limited and over the last decade, they have let the far right look like they are the ones in the right, and this is why they look anti establishment to their base, they made up “wokeness” and had people with bad faith acting making so sensational and over the top that people think they are being told to do shit and not to do shit and when you do that, people push back, all you gotta say is you can’t even make fun of Muslims and people will believe it, like they are not bombing the fuck out of those countries. They can push back against anything and they still feel like heroes to their side and because cynical people have not trusted the system etc, they gravitate toward Trump and let their guard down. Even people on the let side falling for the obvious sports entertainment in MAGA people hating a Trump appointee person who happened to be on the WEF, which to me feels like these people are on the same side but if MAGA people hate products and certain people, then it automatically means the dems will embrace it more, like Bill Gates is an enemy of the right wing but if I believe Gates is a villain, the right can only call him out for being associated with liberals. So it feels like even hating these people is a reality show and at a given notice when shit hits the fan, everyone will find a way to sell out. So it is amazing to me that people that think “Okay we need to have Trump on because the leftists will have a chance and it will fuck them over” yet when it comes to Trump’s victim who is being smeared by the funded accounts online, and Trump himself, so even if you don’t think his victim is as pure because she is aligned with democrats then people don’t care as much but why wouldn’t that argument of if Trump does this to her he could do it to people who are even more powerless. The way a lot of you worship your mentally ill weirdos who are rich and wealthy and then pretend you hate them is some next level sickness, and when they trot out rape and abuse cases for public consumption and it turns into another reality show, they are gonna gimmick up the story a bit where it doesn’t come off as genuine, but since we need to make public figures and their predicaments relatable to how regular people go through shit, because to me, in these situations there are people who are initiated by taking abuse, there are those that are in initiated in giving it, the people who I feel end up giving it, are ones who dealt with it in the first place but instead of getting better and making sure that doesn’t happen, we keep the cycle of abuse going. Tara Reade is another one who will be discredited even if what she went through was real, but I do feel like the only reason some embrace her in the space because in order for her trauma to be acknowledged, she would have to align with the new right leaning type. But people who think Biden wouldn’t have done that in the past are kidding themselves, I am not saying I know for sure but if I feel every high level person in the system had to go through fraternity initiations of doing dirt so they can succeed, then yeah I can believe most people have and I know that is a conclusion I am jumping to, but at the same time, I have seen the pattern of the last 15 years of more and more abuse being revealed and it turns into a intended shit show and we are all front row, I have no idea why I just quoted a Lil Wayne lyric from Uproar, but regardless it fucking rings true. But when I focus on TYT as my main example for shit, it is not to just specify them but the circles around their show and who has ended up leaving and becoming worse and now it feels like this has always been the con, even if they love to think they are just like regular people when they have been apart of the establishment, you can tell with their cookie cutter personalities where they are auditioning for these MSM gigs and then the MSM will suddenly not be so compromised because we have commentary and impressions from Cenk. Watching wrestling and seeing how they have trained you to see the world a certain way, it has become one of the most useful entertainment tools as well as comedy because everything has to be levitated by what is considered comedy. I am watching John Mulaney’s special that everyone praised because of what he went through, and I applaud him but in deeper ways because now that he has all the genuine comedy out of the way, he will be reduced to an Artie Lange or Jeff Hardy, where there is gonna be constant investment in his fuck ups until his standup becomes a really sad show, because it will be less about his comedy material, but more about that persona, Artie’s stand up was never really the best, it is impossible, because he is on a radio show 4-5 days a week exhausting all of his humor and people won’t hear every joke he makes with that much shit, how can someone in that enviroment really be good with their stand up. So Artie was a good concept for the powers to be to work that shit on. Now I see it with other comedians now. Most personalities are defined by their social media role, like Janelle Monae, who is one of the most talented and sexiest women on the planet, normally she has been kind of reserved but now she has become a social media character where she has to cater to the horny on main, I don’t mind seeing her fucking titties on my timeline, I am not gonna complain, but since everyone’s storyline arc has twists and turns, will it be revealed she was pressured to do it and then we will be made to feel bad for enjoying seeing her titties. Sometimes I think in order to make it stand out, there has to be a lot of manufactured controversy because both sides of the argument in some ways come off as fundamentalists, one side dictating how sexy and liberated one could feel, and the other side who pretends they are for liberation, are just regressive assholes who will only cosign talent if they are promoting sex. So if she wants to do it, I support it, but if she doesn’t and can’t say and we find out about it years later, then yeah I am right to be skeptical because of the constant gaslighting the discourse writers are with manipulating mentally ill people online. I am all over the fucking map because my mind is going in different directions, this is why I don’t consider myself a “writer” by traditional standards, I am too lazy to learn the rules but I want to run amok with run on sentences.

I just hate this idea that they are presenting Trump like they are afraid to beat him when they are not even being booked to be allowed to beat him, it looks like they are trying because you think “leaks” online mean that they really didn’t want you to see the information, when it is designed as an excuse for why a narrative changes. This is why the internet has been useful in helping manufacturing consent because everyone on it wants to pretend these conversations were just some random interactions and exchanging of ideas, and sure everyone starts that way but the more they are entrenched into this fucking world, they are being recruited through the internet and now it is at an all time level now. And it has given an excuse for people who pretended they pushed back against him, are acting like they want us to hear from him again because we need to stop him, but they know the bookers who write this shit can’t write good guy characters properly, they end up always disappointing people. So this manufactured outrage is not really outrage, it was for self preservation to show there was a warning there, and people who constantly make excuses because they oppose the “democrats” they will keep letting the far right slide and they will be the same people who will be on the equivalency of what people pushed back against with shitting on people who normalized the war on terror. That is the reality and I don’t think some of you can handle it, and because you can’t tell your audience you have sold out, you are snapping at the people and being uplifted by very far right wing accounts. Keep saying the “MSM HATES US” even though you have the same views as Anderson Cooper on this Trump shit. And I bet you any money when TYT does get Trump to show up on their panel, people really buy into the “Oh my god why would MSM like figure like Trump go on some random independent show” it is because it is not as independent as you think it is and I personally believe there has been under the table funding going on, but beware when people get outraged by TYT having Trump on their show, they are gonna act like “No we will push back” but they will get steamrolled, they might get him on a couple of things etc, but ultimately he will seem like a decent guy to their audience. They already got one of the more decent people on that show Wasny to kind of be used as a tool over this Jordan Neely story about how no elites ride the trains and people there are scared, and I am not doubting people are scared of the fear mongering is going on, but I feel this craziness is funded by billionaires, they have mentally ill people at this disposal that can be given incentive to act out so it makes people get scared so then they don’t mind the normalized execution of mentally ill and homeless people, but you are presenting this in a reality show way where they are gonna profit off this trial, and instead of saying “They are funding this kind of behavior” they are left to both sides the situation. TYT knew it would be bad optics for them to go negative on this storyline, hence why they have kept Ana Kasparian away from it, but Cenk is already trying to both sides this thing and people opposing him will be limited which makes their side look like they are just screaming about racism and executions for no reason when this could’ve been a situation where it was innocent and there was no harmful intent, but if you are a conspiratorial person like me, you think that these kinds of sacrifices are put out there to manufacture consent, and now you have TYT using someone who is from New York, and someone who happens to be black to basically kind of shutdown the people who are claiming this was an execution, and to me it is another example of them pretending that this stuff is not orchestrated with sports entertainment, which has real life consequences, so they can pretend they are judging this shit fairly and it is really disgusting, we already seen people do this with the Kyle Rittenhouse shit and now this will be another part where more “progressives” start shifting to the right wing and it is fucking scary but we are lessened by this threat because everyone partaking in it has to become a fucking sports entertainment comedy figure and it doesn’t matter if the lies you are telling are gonna get people fucking killed, as long as people enjoyed your fucking comedic banter. Cenk is even going as far as now to say he thinks it should be mandatory to serve the military for a year after high school, he is normalizing himself going back to his republican roots. People like that would see my blog and statements like a punch in the face, but these people are literally normalizing their heel personas and if you call them out on it they will think they are the victims in this because on the surface they would have you believe that people are just getting mad at a “simple opinion” when it is more about they don’t want people to get mad they are gonna align with fascists. I really don’t care if they kill me at this point. The system has already converted anyone I know into elitist behavior, and I feel I am the asshole and unclassy one, like I have been told, because I am not elitist persona, people who can insert themselves into my life, making sure I don’t have my own friends or my own group so I am surrounded by leeches who only use me for a limited gathering while I am not good enough to be at their elitist affairs, and that is fine, it is just this notion that people think they go to “classy” events and look nice, and have this nuclear family aesthetic, thinking they are classier than me is hilarious since they will all get worse mentally and they will eventually alienate people in their lives, they don’t know how to be themselves, they all take on characters. Why would I want to be here. Maybe it is a death wish, the Stern trolls will put out messages how what is happening to my distant uncle in Pakistan, Imran Khan, will be what ends up happening to me, even if it is not true, but instilling paranoia in a mentally ill man so he snaps is very sick, why would I want to be living on this planet with these kinds of people. When the system limits who you can talk to, people like me then have to find other forms of consumption onine to see if there is anyone who is gonna keep it real about shit but most people have to limit their shit even if they are doing good things, it shows me that you will eventually have to do evil and that is why you present the call outs so limited, because then it would mean the whole system will have to be overhauled.
