There was an implied mutual attraction in the show, but I think they dropped that idea around season 3, maybe season 2 (thankfully)

I don't think Logan's crush on Zoey was ever that serious, I think he just found her attractive and wanted to make out with her, same way he wanted to make out with most girls. He grew to like her as a friend later on, and the make out jokes never felt like he meant them since then.

I really believe he fell for Quinn on season 3, so he completely got over any left over attraction for Zoey by then. And she also seemed to drop that as well, way earlier. The fact that they both annoyed the shit out of each other probably helped get rid of it.

You didn't ask about Quinn but I'm gonna talk about Quinn

Before their kiss, Logan described Quinn as "smart, pretty and kinda fun". Those things could apply to Zoey too, so why didn't he fell for Zoey instead? Well he might have said only those things, but those were not the only reasons he fell for Quinn. She's much more than that.

Quinn also annoyed him and challenged him, like Zoey, but he ended up falling for her still (dare I say, because of it). Quinn had other attributes that attracted him, I think Quinn's weirdness/quirkiness and personality played at hand for why he feel for her but not Zoey. Like Erin and Matt mention recently mentioned Quogan have more in common than people think. I think their shared interest in science was something that drew Logan in, despite himself. They're also both romantics, again, despite himself. They have mad chemistry, something that just comes naturally with couples, and something that wasn't really there with Zoey.

She's different from Zoey on many things, and I believe Logan loved every single one of those differences.

Quinn is kinder and less self-centered than Zoey. She doesn't make every issue her problem, yk? and she is actually a pretty sweet girl.

She's not self righteous like Zoey, something that often causes Logan and Zoey's fights (even tho he kinda is also, in a way that he always thinks he's right too) Oh, actually that last part just made me realize another reason why Logan and Zoey never developed feeling*.

Quinn is always willing to help her friends, when asked, unlike Zoey who simply inserts herself in the situation and give advices without asking first.

Quinn took revenge on Logan as well, but I don't think she ever went as far as Zoey had, like in Anger Management, for example.

Quinn is not as judgy as Zoey either, probably bc of the fact that she's an outcast tbh.

Zoey has a serious communication problem, connected to her self righteousness, where if she feels wronged, she never let the other person explain themselves (it's mostly Chase), while Quinn makes things less complicated and expresses those things (like when they were laughing behind her back and she told them it hurted her, bc she expected it from Logan but she thought of them as her friends, no one made a move to apologize or talk so she left). Basically both Quinn and Zoey are confrontational, but in completely different ways.

*What I realized, is that Zoey and Logan have a lot in common too. Like how they both want to be in charge at all times and have troubles accepting their wrong doing. The things they have in common are their flaws, while with Quinn, they have their better parts in common. I don't wanna bring Dana into this, but I believe this would have been the case for her and Logan too if she had stayed. So, I guess Quogan would still had been endgame (now I kinda want a fic where while Quinn was with Mark, Logan had a messy relationship with Dana, Quogan is still endgame at the end, I think it'd be more dramatic and make Logan also experience what's like to have a healthy relationship after coming out of an unhealthy one)

One could argue that Logan's attraction to Quinn's less dominating qualities and attitudes in comparison to Zoey could be attributed to his sexism and his own dominating personality at the time, but then again, Quinn is a dominating girl too, we see that in her relationship with Mark, so I don't think it's only that, I think at the end, it was more about Quinn's healthier way of dealing with things drew him in. He really needed someone that was at his level on that aspect but would match him and work with him for the better instead of someone who made things worse.

Logan and Quinn balance each other and bring the best in the other. Logan and Zoey, despite their moments of friendship, bring out the worst. They're too similar to like each other while Quinn is has the right amount of similarities and differences to make their relationship work and generate an attraction that later turned into love.

Now he's not only too in love with his wife to still harbor a crush on her, he also doesn't seem to like Zoey very much.

TL;DR: kinda but it wasn't that deep, Zoey and him weren't compatible like that.

so BASICALLY! the premise is that i took canon and fistfought it in a dennys at 3 am and won, so take everything you think you know about atla and throw it away now. there's no bending now but there IS magic and please ask me about it but maybe . in a little bit because i haven't figured it out yet i mean what.

essentially the world consists of the fire nation/water tribes/earth kingdom etc etc but Different because i said so and now the southern water tribe is not in the south pole they are just on a very southern archipelago that is very creatively named the southern isles (yes there are northern isles, and no those are not actually the isles' [full] names but i haven't settled on names definitively so for now and colloquially they are the southern isles). the fire nation is not Actively waging war against literally everyone and also they're called the fire kingdom now. i think. that's probably going to change but yes they are in the desert and the royal palace is on a volcano and i think i've spent too much thinking about the architectural integrity of that very palace but actually most of the plot isn't even set there so . like . yk what's a writer gonna do, ACTUALLY worldbuild the important parts of the setting???

as the first sentence said, zuko gets wrangled into a marriage proposal that he is...less than happy about, because even if the world is different, ozai is still an asshole, just a little more politically minded instead of militaristic, and also azula's a bit less insane/canon-typical azula and likes her brother a bit more. slightly less dysfunctional siblings yk yk but not suuuuper important cuz she doesn't really come up a whole lot anyways

SO zuko finds out like three weeks before his arranged wedding that he's gonna be marrying some girl from an influential earth kingdom family and he takes it...honestly as well as can be expected? also the girl's name is peony and she was supposed to be bitchy but i actually love her with my whole heart and she turned out way different and yeah i really just dig myself into deeper and deeper holes don't i

well it's a bit complicated but essentially peony falls for zuko and zuko noticeably does Not reciprocate and some emotional wonky magic happens that i have to iron out the details of but in the end zuko gets turned into a dragon. which is Bad because dragons have basically been hunted to extinction in the fire kingdom and possibly also just about everywhere else in the world so he gets the hell out of there (not that he knows where he's going except Away) and eventually ends up on the southern isles, kinda because he was so exhausted from flying that he lowkey passed out over the ocean and he was lucky he's buoyant because instead of drowning the water carried him the rest of the way to the isles and dumped him on the beach, where a certain other character finds him...

2. when in canon does your self insert come in? do you have a scene in mind for your entrance?

croqueta gets introduced into the show on the same episodes as cio and secco, since it's a villain of the day dynamic! when they appear, croqs has already been living with them for a long while (around a bit less than a year maybe.....). before his face appears he's mentioned by diavolo when doppio is on the plane. he tells him to be careful with cio and secco etc the usual and that theyve adopted a new guy into their duo that he doesnt know much about but he seems harmless so far. croqs doesnt work in la unita speciale so at the start of the fight hes just at home but when he hears the chaos outside hes like oh theyre definitely causing this. so he takes his bike and rides up the road to see whats going on because it sounds quite bad and hes worried. after that its kind of complicated to explain i'd have to write a lot-w-) he basically gets to fight (he has no experience in fighting but hes a stand so it kind of works) and save secco lol

3. how do the other characters generally feel about your self insert?

SMILINGGG SO WIDE i enjoy his relationships-w-).....he doesnt really have many friends hes not a social guy. he clearly doesnt get along with the main gang but they dont hate him as much as other villains since hes just some desperate guy that can barely fight at first lol. gio and mista think hes so fucking weird..maybe more creepy than weird tbh. but he gets along with la unita speciale! in a way! he likes being around carne and viceversa, squalo and tiziano like asking him questions because they find him and his partners peculiar (tiziano squalo and croqs enjoy gossip..) theyre kind of like the mean girls that pretended to be friends with me but theyre genuine LMAO they just talk similar yk. anyways. doppio and croqs dont have too much of a relationship bc croqs is shit scared of the boss and has heard that sometimes him and doppio speak. so he stays away lol... and that really it !!

10. how do the other characters feel about your self insert and f/o’s relationship?

again theres really few people that know him eheh. tiziano thinks its sooo funny that theyre all together hes so interested in the sex and croqueta has no issue telling him about it. squalo is similar to tizi but hes curious about their home life. which is surprisingly normal in contrast with everything else about them. carne doesnt give a fuck. doppio doesnt like the three of them at all

UMM i can say some simple stuff about him...hes very fascinated by cio's ability to cut his body in pieces and he kind of wishes he could do that but refuses to go back into the operation room. he loves riding his bike on the road along the beach. he'll often carry secco on the back of his bike! he accompanies secco to the beach a lot but secco loves swimming and croqs doesn't know how to swim so he just brings a book.

i am very much still a taylor swift listener. i love her music. i connect to a lot of it. certain parts of the fandom are still AMAZING and genuinely some of the loveliest, sweetest, most creative and kindest people i've met on here.

that being said. there are a lot of really toxic swifties. i tried to stay away from them even as a hardcore diehard swiftie but its impossible. a lot of the fandom feels so toxic and hard to be in because it feels so high maintenance. so much is expected of you. i don't like that.

also. as for taylor herself. i have a lot of love and awe for her in some aspects. what she's created musically and culturally is incredible. the eras tour was truly the best performance i've ever been lucky enough to see live. she is a musical powerhouse and i think her ability to transcend a lot of misogyny and shitty people -- especially since she got big around the 2010s -- provides a lot of hope and inspiration for a lot of people (including me!!)

that being said she is still a privileged white person. this is not something she can change. that is ok. white ppl do not suck because they are white. the problem is when things like white girl feminism, performative activism, and blatant hypocrisy come up.

especially having a political activism era, going completely silent and then profiting off of that is not ok to me. i get that celebrities are not the golden standard for political activism, but if u are going to claim to be an activist. be an activist. yes, silent support is sometimes necessary (donations or whatever. i get its probably annoying to be questioned whether or not you do something. "oh she's doing too much" "oh she's not doing enough") but again. if you are going to claim activism and draw in a larger crowd and have ppl defend you because of that, you have to actually act on your words. performative activism just. it really annoys me.

furthermore, certain things she can't help and i get that. if her boyfriend is on the cheifs she's allowed to support him. but idk the cheifs supporting israel is really shitty. sure she's allowed to date whomever she wants but as a human being everyone has the responsibility to be a good person especially if you live in the public eye. matty healy was genuinely a terrible person, whether she dated him or not, and associating and openly supporting those kinds of people is never ok.

not even mentioning the fact that she claims to really really care about her fans but didn't say anything about pride until pride month, even when her trans fans were yknow being fucking harassed at her shows for their bathroom choice.

anyways there's a lot to unpack, and i don't think anything is every truly black and white. i'm absolutely not saying she's a terrible person. she is also not the most amazing person to ever live. (and i get that's ok i mean i sure as hell am not perfect and my grammy count is 0)

okay im here wit da ocs. anyway so i made 2!!! the first one is a chinese girl named xiaona (小娜) in hanzi, i believe (dont quote me on that). her design came to me in a dream, actually. i dreamed that there was a girl who was pretty as all get-out but she didn’t speak. like,, at all. just silent. she was very kind-hearted, though, and she gave everything her all. she had a lot of chronic diseases tho in her adult life (mostly ones that affected her muscles and stuff like that), but even tho, she powered thru. anyway, she’s a teenager right now (14-17 prolly). i also made for her to be a friend (maybe love interest? maybe?) for the second oc, but mostlt just a friend. i made her so dat she was born in japan to a chinese father and japanese mother, then she left to america with her family for undecided reasons when she was about nine. she was already taking care of her younger siblings by that time, though. she’s very motherly and caring, she just seems rude at first because she’s blunt and she doesn’t speak you know??? anyway. doesn’t she give off the same vibes as shoko komi. nah she’s not like that. anyway below is a picrew i made of her (creds to nellseto)

THERE!! this man has too many damn names. anyway, he’s in his teenaged years just like xiaona, he’s actually good friends with xiaona, they spend a lot of time together actually. they’re both pretty popular, but xiaona is more only popular bc she’s associated with aliyaksandr, yk? anyway. both his parents are from belarus. his mother works as a math teacher at the same school that sasha attends and his father works as a carpenter. they moved from belarus to america like only a few months before aliyaksandr enrolled in american school as the school year started up and all that, so all this is kinda new to him yk!! xiaona helps him out doe cuz they’re sort of in the same boat. anyway heres a picrew of the beautiful sasha himself!

i think your appreciation for intellectuality would fascinate him. of course he grew up well educated, but i don’t see him having a passion for continuing his education past what the septa and the maester made him learn. he was more interested in practical things, knowing one day he would have to be a soldier and a lord. but you would prompt him to think for himself more, instead of following what other people expected of him. he’d find himself reading and expressing an interest in the arts, simply so he could bring it up in conversation with you. he’d want to impress you, and so he’d be actively bettering himself just so he could talk to you and make you smile.

he’d find it endearing that you get lost in your head and like to fantasize. i think there are times in his life where he also thought of all the possibilities he could find himself in, if it weren’t for being the stark heir. he’d have a certain appreciation for the heroics and the adventures of all the stories you’d tell him about. but fantasy can get a bit complicate, and he’d need you to explain the specifics. he might not even understand what you’re talking about, but he doesn’t care. he just likes listening to you talk enthusiastically about something.

he’d also find your indecision endearing. i think he’s a pretty logical person, and also a very stubborn person. once his mind his made up, that’s enough for him. in order to be a good leader, he can’t be questioning his every decision. it would show weakness, and potentially put his men in danger. but he’d also fear sometimes that he was making the wrong decision. he’d ask your opinion on certain matters, taking it seriously. you’d think it out better than he would, so he would really value your input on more serious matters. but for the less important things, where you still treated it like it was life or death, he’d love watching your process of making decisions. it would amuse him.

he’d find you in the library, scouring over the shelves for your next book to read. he’d chuckle at your look of frustration, it bringing a smile to his face.

“it doesn’t really matter what you read first, darling. they’re books. it’s not like they’re going to grow legs and hop off the shelf before you can get to them.”

INTERPRETATION

we all know, of course, that ariana grande sings this song and that harry has never brought out a recorded version. interesting with this, is that the pronouns all stay the same when harry or ariana perform it. harry wrote it this way, since there are no records of ariana altering the lyrics. he once said, on stage, that he wrote it and “gave it” to her. so, whether this song was written about “you” being a woman or a man, the sexualities involved aren’t hetero. if harry’s singing to a woman, she’s involved with a “her”, and if harry’s singing to a man, well, that’s gay too, obviously. and yk, even if ariana ever changed the pronouns to match her sexuality, harry performing it like that is still very gay. a cishet male dead set on not making his sexuality ambiguous would maybe not have made that choice, or would have simply stuck to the pronouns originally written by him. these are all hypotheticals, obviously, because harry did of course write “her” and always intended to.

now so how does this make sense? 

i think it’s pretty telling that he chose this song to perform during hslot. it’s a time where he also decided to cover girl crush, which certainly lines up in terms of sentiment and general queerness, coming from harry. with girl crush harry wishes he were in the body of a woman so the man involved with her would love him just as much. there’s the same kind of resignation to the whole situation, like the “I” has accepted they can’t change anything. 

just a little bit of your heart deals with this grief of not having all of their lover to themselves. especially, in harry’s case, involving stunts. this is not about the one harry loves, louis, actually being involved with other people. this is about louis publicly having to pretend that harry doesn’t mean as much to him as he does, which simply is their reality. harry can’t have his lover all to himself and has to settle with what he can get, which is anything the gp can’t see and all the songs they write for each other and the cross-referencing in mvs and. harry tweeting lyrics to 1950 isn’t random -- it’s that same grief that queer people have of having a relationship but not being able to show it publicly. which, for harry, would make it whole. because she can go around with his man in public without a problem. 

harry isn’t angry at louis, though, but he is hurt by the situation, and can’t come up with a way to tell him because there’s not a lot louis can do. louis is equally stuck, so harry will resort to not telling him how he really feels about it all. (apart from writing this song, of course.) it’s the sad, down and out harry, with his low self-esteem coming in hard, that wrote this song. 

the unassertive tone of the song confirms, to me, how it was their daily life and was somewhat accepted by them, albeit with the questioning undertone of “it’s what they say, what do i know... but is this really how it’s supposed to be?” because Harry knows that a little love is not something they should settle for, especially since their love can’t be contained like that. the sadness of not being with his loved one all the time is mixed with that sadness of working in an industry, living in a world, where their love is not (widely) accepted. 

it’s important to not, though, that this song was written in 2014, and their context is a lot different now. h and l are obviously still involved in stunts, but harry has definitely found a way to be less sad about that part of their relationship. the hiatus has definitely taken the elounor pressure off of them for the most part, and the press doesn’t constantly stick a mic under their noses to ask them about their “love life” in each other’s presence. (which, however often you go through that, probably still stings, especially on tougher days.) harry clearly had to work through a lot of that sadness during the hs1 era, but i think covering shania twain’s still the one says enough. we’ll never know what they went through, but they clearly went through hard times - together and individually - and had to work hard to make it to the other side. their music today, then, is very much proof of their relationship standing strong.

Well first, thank you, I'm very flattered. I'm going to go ahead and acknowledge @therealvinelle here as well as she's I believe the one who originally posted the post about the very complicated topic of Jacob Black and his terrible choices throughout the series.

As for your questions there are a few pack questions in my inbox but it's mostly a matter that people keep asking questions about Bella and she keeps getting eaten.

Also, I'm not sure you want me answering these questions. Like all of Twilight, it's a bleak pit of despair.

But here we go

What About the Pack/Tribe After Breaking Dawn

There's a lot of shit going on in the tribe right now. Jacob leaving is just part of it.

They have an unprecedented number of shifters in the community and that's going to spell... a lot of issues in the years to come.

Namely, per Sam and Emily, domestic violence will be through the roof and kept very hushed up for the understandable reason of these people look like they were mauled by bears. This will also likely increase the number of deaths in the tribe, especially among those who are young. Accidents happen, it's not good, this is going to have a devastating impact on the people.

You also have a lot of angry, disaffected, young men who can no longer really be a part of society. They can't really attend school, can't even really leave the reservation for fear of turning into a wolf, they can't hold a job, at the age of nineteen or younger they each had their futures ripped away from them.

Some, Seth, handle this very well (possibly because he hasn't clued into what this means yet), others like Jake... do not. These people have had their lives turned upside down and in some cases utterly ruined: that's not good in any society.

Then you have the imprinting, lord, the imprinting.

To date, there's the Sam, Emily, and Leah disaster. The three of them handled it very well, but it still utterly destroyed Leah's life and emotional stability. Not helping, of course, is that Leah has had her very identity taken from her, has no privacy, and her only option of escape is to follow Jacob around which... we'll get to in a few paragraphs.

Added to that, you have the Claire/Quil disaster, in which the tribe is desperately trying to handle it by a) keeping it very quiet b) trying to make Quil just be the babysitter. That's unlikely to work out for them and is just angstfest all around and no one's fault.

And then, of course, Jacob/Renesmee. Jacob, having now imprinted, will follow Renesmee to the ends of the earth. He has no other purpose now. Which means that Leah and Seth, who are in his pack, get to follow along and uproot their lives. For the tribe this means they'll never be rid of the Cullens, not truly, and Billy has lost his son entirely. Not to mention it's guaranteed to go awful places.

Then you have the paternity questions this whole thing drudges up, the trauma of these children having to be sacred warriors and having slaughtered demons with human faces, many of whom were also once children and more.

The tribe and the pack are a goddamn mess.

Jacob imprinting on the Cullen hybrid daughter and leaving the tribe? Yeah, it's weird and no one likes it, but that isn't even the peak of the nonsense these people have to deal with.

Would the Other Girls Shift?

No.

Leah seems to have won the genetic shitty lottery. In 600 years of shifting, there has never been another woman, and Leah has all shifting bloodlines in her veins.

It seems Leah was just very unlucky.

Were other girls to shift I imagine they'd face much the same situation. Suddenly teenage boys are witnessing them naked, all the time, they have no choice to become sacred warriors (a role not typically meant for women and which will very much feel like 'the boy's club') and I don't get the idea that anyone learned anything from Leah.

Jake certainly didn't, he just thought she was Uber Bitch until she begged him to let her in his new pack and reminded him she was a human being with feelings.

The concept genuinely had not occurred to him.

ATLA BATTLE OF THE BANDS AU SETUP PT. 1

oK SO I’VE HAD THIS AU IN MY HEAD FOR TWO FKN DAYS AND I HAVE COME TO EVER SO GRACIOUSLY INJECT IT INTO YOUR MIND- THE GAANG PLUS YUE AND THE FIRE NATION GALS IN BANDS. a battle of the bands au. tHINK OF THE aRt. n i’m thinking zukka and yueki, and they meet at battle of the bands but yk...we got 2 sets of pining idiots yk yk. i thought this up five (5) days ago and iM DYING

this is basically just the setup but i’ll add little tidbits and worldbuilding and art later

zuko (18): drums + backup vocals

mai (16): bass guitar

ty lee (15): keyboard

azula (15): lead guitar + vocals

suki (17/18): rhythm guitar

they do some group vocals/harmonies but not that often

so like azula has this really strong, really powerful voice, and that means she could do really moving rock ballads/power ballads, and etc etc. she took extensive guitar and voice lessons as a kid because of That Fucker Ozai™ and thats why she has so much control. same with zuko, except he didnt take voice lessons (he just liked singing) and quit guitar after ozai went to jail (it was a painful reminder of The Shit He Went Through) and took up drums to let out his anger and frustrations instead. Azula stuck with guitar because it was something she loved to do, despite her past.

where azula has a bold voice, zuko has a raspy-yet-smooth-at-the-same-time one that matches azula’s really well. while she’s off singing power notes, hes singing the lower, raspier undertones and it sounds really nice.

zuko also took up art classes and is genuinely proud of his work.

he’s secretly (its not that much of a secret) an art nerd

zuko, azula, and suki wrote a few songs together, kinda

for lack of better explanation, ozai was (canon-typically) abusive, and he got drunk one day and got mad at zuko and pushed him. zuko fell into the fireplace, and boom. scar.

azula got mainly mental trauma because zuko would take the blow for her, but she got therapy and theyre both for the most part better (there are still some relapses)

ty lee is still from the circus, except this time mai was there too, which is where she learned knife-throwing. they both ran away from the circus summer after freshman year and met azula though mai’s bass lessons (alternatively, they met at martial arts classes). theyre 14/15. they moved in with azula, zuko, and iroh around the middle of sophomore year (grade 10) when ozai was arrested. the azula and ty lee were 15, mai was 16, and zuko was 17 at the time, around the ages they were in the show when the war ended (i think??)

azula said it didn't matter cause they had a huge house. she says it was half-empty, anyways, but mai and ty lee know that meant she liked their company.

they get along really well with suki

everyone realizes they can all play instruments, the core parts of a [rock] band. they start playing together, and eventually decide to become a band

their band is called ‘the kyoshi warriors’ (or something idk this is off the top of my head) in honor of the girls’ martial arts instructor, master kyoshi, who passed away

suki joins their friend group gradually. first, she’s attended azula’s martial arts class since they were in second grade, and moved up the belts like wildfire (along with azula). she tried to befriend azula a few times, but gave up over the years because azula wasnt interested in friendship (no thanks to ozai pressuring her to always be first. azula saw her as a rival, suki saw azula as a particularly competitive classmate and but equal in skill). She was zuko’s classmate since freshman year (grade 9) but only became his friend in sophomore year through a literature assignment the two were paired up in. she was really his only friend, cause everyone was too busy sizing up his scar. the two became inseparable then on.

she plays rhythm guitar because she loves guitar but agrees that azula is better at being in the (relative) spotlight

on the outside, suki and zuko looked tough, but underneath that, they’re two bumbling, pining gay idiots

suki’s parents both died in a fire, so she grew up with her “cool gay aunt” who was also a feminist and a mixed martial arts instructor.

Pros:

The parallels/opposites of Anatasha - I like the meta part of this.

Fave male character + fave female character. This is a subjective personal pro but you know.

There’s a certain romanticism about it, you know? Sonya finding her happiness with a man who loves her and is as family-oriented as she is and has similar hyper-loyalty ideals, and who will value her and cherish her for exactly the things others think she’s lacking. And him finding a woman to love and who will love him. I don’t know if younger versions of them would have actually been completely compatible but I feel like post-war them definitely would be.

But then at the same time...it’s not like this Grand Romance really, yk? It’s a more quiet thing, maybe even a little practical in some ways. And in that sense more likely to be durable and mature.

Cons

There is a little too much mhhh...idk if “gender roles” is really the right way to put it lol but it is very Heterosexual in that way that I usually find kinda boring/annoying. Very traditional in a way, you know? It’s probably why while I do love the ship I don’t have a lot of like...fic ideas for them. And you have to admit Dolokhov’s tirade about the “perfect woman,” even assuming he was upset and exaggerating and stuff, def didn’t age well.

Marynat

Pros:

Ummm...enemies to lovers I guess?

There’s some good shippy stuff in the epilogue so the canon def obliges.

Better than their respective endgame het ships.

Cons:

I get really annoyed at how Natasha like All Of A Sudden becomes bffs with Marya and her relationship with Sonya feels like it goes downhill and she like...trashtalks Sonya to Marya? Like bitch wtf. So that annoyance kinda sours the ship for me.

As a personal, subjective “con,” I’m not particularly interested or like either of these characters. So it’s not a ship that has a lot of interested/potential to me personally.

Helenkov

Pros:

Hot.

I do kinda like the upper class girl/less well off rogue trope, although not universally necessarily but when it works it really works.

They’re a ship where, all things considered, they feel like equals/equally matched. And they’re a ship I can see as non-romantic friends too, which is especially important for me in het.

The DRAMA and angst of a forbidden/secret romance.

Cons:

Well just going by the book they don’t really, like, interact? And I recognize that a lot of my headcanons for this ship and Helene are built off the 2007 miniseries and Helene isn’t quite as exciting of a character in the book. Not as passionate either.

I’m not sure that it could actually work and be sustainable long term for a lot of reasons.

Danatole

Pros:

This ship super hits my kinks of that dynamic I call “The Prince and His Knight” where it’s like protector/protectee but the protectee is of a higher socioeconomic status and/or rank than the protector character. Like IDK it’s hard to explain but yea. (Like Danatole, Jaimeric, Peter/Brockdorff, Sabinus/Tiberius, Sleeping Warrior, are all definitely this. Courfius is technically this too. Romercutio can be this depending on how you interpret Mercutio’s social status but even without the technicality lots of the dynamic beats still hold.)

Hot. Banter. Hot banter.

The Drama of how complicated this relationship can get emotionally. Like especially from Dolokhov’s side where he might not want to admit just how in love with Anatole he is and the potential of that story arch of him finally accepting that yup this is the love of his life/ And Anatole not being able to settle down and not meaning any harm but also like...monogamy? Long term? What? And it’s like...not toxic but also far more turbulent that reasonable.

But it can also be very ride-or-die and tragic and ohhh the angst and hurt/comfort potential.

Cons:

The book...certainly provides obstacles, especially with the line regarding Dolokhov’s needing Anatole position and money for his gambling connection, which certainly makes it sound like he’s using him. So it’s something that needs to be worked around and included in any story-arch in one way or another. This isn’t a High Romance ship for sure.

CANONLY!!!! THEYRE BOTH SAID THEYRE BI IN THE BOOK LIKE !!!! they’re both korean too like <3

it’s rated 3/5 bc the writing is juvenile at time (and ngl im fine with it!! the author has written children’s books with an asian protag so the whole YA thing is new to her and it’s rlly good for her foray into this genre honestly!!!!) and also the harry potter and bts references were -_- i know the bts was going to be a thing but the hp??? when the book was made in 2020??? like in this day and age??? no thank you keep that away. there are like uhh less than 10 so a blessing ig

this is a nice series !!!!!! the way all the male characters are side characters and each book surrounds the girl yeah <3 the third book is kind of :/ bc there’s a relationship with a 16 yr old and a 22-23? year old i think idk but basically she’s isolated and idolized him and he’s… idk it’s weird but if you just keep in mind that ajd try and ignore how that’s the driving factor for a lot of this it’s fine !!! the plot is nice !! but yeah the rest of them are <33333 and the plot is so !!!! each book is a sci-fi retelling of a fairytale and they all blend into each other seamlessly its just so !!!! the characters are everything as well i don’t care for like half of the men ensemble but the women. aaaaah beloveds 3/5 mainly bc it’s been SUCH a long time i don’t think i can accurately judge it so we’ll stick with a decent rating yk?

also! read heartless by the same author it’s like her retelling of how the queen of hearts became the queen of hearts it’s rlly good !!! cant for the love of me rmbr most of the plot nor can reread it bc it hurts but still. rlly good !!!! 4/5 definitely

 As for my personality, I’m a typical introvert. Shy when you meet me, but I’ll come out of my shell pretty quickly. Especially when I’m around people you genuinely want to get to know me. When I get excited about things I rush through what I’m saying and stumble over my words. I’m incredibly easy to fluster! And I can’t take a compliment to save my life! I get flustered when my family compliment me, so forget a stranger. You’d see me shine like a beacon from space.(2) I’m most comfortable with family and close friends, but I don’t mind meeting knew people. I just kinda have to be forced into it. I love reading all kinds of things, but I do think fanfics tend to be some of my favorites! I love seeing how authors take cannon and flip it on it’s head! I’ve also been known to mildly( completely) obsess over my favorite fandoms. I love cooking and I adore kids! ( I’m a nanny ) I love the outdoors. (3)  Long walks on old road, open fields, and getting lost( figuratively) in the forests are some of my favorite things to do! I love all sorts of water! And most water related sports. okay so after some thinking i decided to match you with Satan! 

ok so i’m not big into HP & the lore but as far as i know hufflepuffs are super kind and love animals and helping others. so Satan might seem like a little bit of an odd candidate but opposites attract right? i think deep down he just adores and respects how you can be sweet and helpful to others even if you’re not their friend. he might try and take advantage of that at first (not judging but he is a demon yk) but here is the thing. as a nanny you are probably really patient and nurturing with a sense of morality. which means you’re probably a decent choice for some spiritual guidance which he seeks sm! so there you go, see how easy it was to win him over! all that just by keep being yourself! 

in addition i think he’d prefer an introverted partner as in canon he likes a partner who minds their own business sometimes, even if they are in the same room. which is fine! 

your soothing voice affecting him when he is going through with issues regarding his sin or an identity crisis... this could be made into a one-shot.. 

ok so two introverts is a couple who never argues about the destination or the type of a date! 

though be prepared for some social interactions and situations as Asmo is the closest brother to him, so yeah . though Satan himself would never force you into social situations, in fact you’d have each other as an excuse to ditch Asmo’s great party idea

okay so you say you like to read in your free time, but tbh as i already mentioned in the introduction, even if you don’t share the exact same interests with someone it can be an amazing relationship. i mean, in his case it’s not that much of a difference - as he is a major bibliophile - besides genre and fandoms. but what i’m saying is that it’s nothing that he couldn’t get behind. he’d probably recommend some of his favourites and vica versa! also i think he’d do his best to listen to you talk about whatever is on your mind at a time. he just love spending time observing you, your gestures and listening to your voice is really just something else to him!!

 ok so since you’re a hufflepuff and according to my knowledge you love animals it’s also great as that means you’ll help him take care of strays when needed, even if you might have to be sneaky about it sometimes

Oh he loves going on adventures sm too!! he’d def recommend some rare sightings around the Devildom to show you and watch together! dw about danger he’s strong enough to protecc when needed! 

the fact that you are mature enough to cook with / for him is also a big green flag in his case! though most of the time it would be you two doing it together like in an equal, well-balanced, healthy relationship. (you’d only do it alone in case you wanted to suprise him w/ his fav food) he’d make sure his schdule is always free / flexible enough to do such chores with you! 

obviously he’s not as much into water as his older brother, who you’d also get along with and be best friends with without Satan trying to sabotage it which is again, a major green flag. (the other way around it might be a bit more complicated as Levi gets jealous more easily, while Satan is mostly fine within reason & as long as you ignore Lucifer - but even then he wouldn’t be upset at you, but him) 

also if you support romantic relationships based on being best friends then he’s also a decent choice!!

story time: pretty girls don’t get hurt

this is where i rant, cry and scream about my fics. not all fics have a story time though! the ones that do just kind of have a special place in my heart ♥️

spoiler alert!

i. the title.

okay don’t laugh but i’ve been singing sia’s chandeliar as ‘pretty girls’ instead of ‘party girls’ for years. and i kind of liked how it sounded to that’s how the title comes to be lmaooo

but the story comes together eventually yk

pretty could mean a lot of things - the way one dresses, the way one carries themselves, the traditional pretty described for features. take your pick for the oc.

but given the plot and her position - she dresses nicely and carries herself with confidence (prettily).

but despite all of that, she’s been hurt before (the part where she got turned down by taehyung) and she was hurt still by the incident with sowon. it was both physical and mental because she ended up feeling guilty about taking sowon’s man.

ii. oc.

oc may or may not have appeared ooc. i purposefully made her have two sides: on one hand, when she’s with the people she can let her guard down, she’s playful - i’d say she’s a spoiled brat who grew up. on the other, she’s pretty serious because of the wall she built up around her - because pretty girls do get hurt! haha title ref.

if you noticed, oc’s a practical type. she was born from what queen bey said used to say or maybe she didn’t bc i saw this on twitter a long time ago but the gist is she only gives herself one day to feel sorry for herself when she's down, but in those 24 hours she allows herself to truly FEEL it, then she pushes past it because she can't sit and dwell for too long.

and the quote from miss nai labeautyologist : if it doesn’t feed you, don’t water it.

but basically, she’s very ambition-driven and there’s little she wouldn’t do to get what she wants.

iii. oc and taehyung.

they’re soulmates.

to be frank this dynamic is more interesting to me than the actual plot. i feel like it’d be interesting to write a heart wrenching angst about two people who were so perfect for each other - that they can’t be together. 

a little insight on taehyung: he’s always had commitment issues, so when oc had her career blooming and was at the top of the game and the only thing left that she doesn’t have is a family of her own, decided to tell taehyung about her feelings, the guy got scared that he’s going to fuck it up and ruin their friendship along with it.

since they’ve known each other for so long - the line between friends and lovers got blurred. they were doing things lovers would do (cuddling etc. not sex lmao) but they still thought it was normal even though the other was seeing someone else.

when oc realized that taehyung was the man she wanted to spend her entire life with, she sort of told him that like love confession + proposal right away. she’s practical and maybe lacking some sense lmaooo

but taehyung fled the country after rejected oc and she had to drag him back and give him a piece of her mind, basically told him not to be so dramatic and that she was fine if he didn’t like her back. they’re still friends.

that’s the thing though - taehyung loved oc back just as much and that’s when things got complicated.

or not really - they were living on a pretense of friendship but taehyung still chose oc over his many girlfriends. it was like nothing could come between the two. taehyung was content with that until oc decided to get married and he’s finally realizing things are changing - granted they couldn’t just stay in that grey area forever.

and now, their dynamic’s changed - they really can’t be together. so they’re gonna be each other’s pillar of strength. like family you get what i’m saying?

it’s bittersweet. i wish i could write something like that but as the main plot but i don’t think i’ll be able to do it justice. 

iii. oc and seokjin.

there’s not much going on here besides what was written. seokjin has a good eye for character - or more like, he’s grown up around people who want to use him for personal gain so he knows how to read people.

and oc was exactly the kind of person who approaches people because she needs something from them and she knows she have something they want.

what she didn’t expect was having her motives being found out with just one look. and that’s why they were great for each other.

oc’s playful side is foretold in the earlier scenes with taehyung so it’s not too ooc for her to be the way she is at the end of the fic. she finally lets her guard down.

i like her with seokjin better than with taehyung even though she and taehyung know everything about each other. what each other like. what the other hate. but it’s too intense and fragile especially with the other’s personalities. they kind of clash. oc is the kind of person that needs something to be said to her and taehyung is the kind of person that expects her to just get him.

but seokjin’s the type to know and not take it to heart when oc does something less sensitive / doesn’t know it’ll hurt him.

iv. fin.

i’m not sure if i like the way the story flows - it focuses more on them getting to know each other. i have doubts that the smut was even needed though - i’m a firm believer that smuts can make or break a fic. sometimes it’s not needed and feel forced. i don’t think it’s forced in this fic but i also don’t think it needs to focus on the actual intercourse lmao oh well. i shall improve in the future and have better judgement on whether to include it or not in the future.

Episode description: Dr. Manning rushes to save a young boy who has a life-threatening case of the flu. After discovering that opioid painkillers were stolen during last week’s mass casualty, April believes Dr. Choi’s sister took them.

Seriously April? So gung-ho to defend Emily, but then you turn around and accuse her. (I don’t remember if she actually took them)

Actually, we can figure that out. Bc according to this, you can infer that ethan was defending his sister, and since the guy is always right and the girl is always wrong, she probably didn’t.

let’s get into it.

- ava turning to connor with a sly grin when he tries to reassure her. they rag on each other so much (bc she told him to stop acting like he’s not enjoying ava being flamed for failing the exercise)

- the way she’s closely watching him, sees him look to her to give her the cue. the little nod of question

- the look on all of their faces. like, it’s like... the kinda get where she’s coming from, the patient who doesn’t want to give up her baby for her heart. it’s a hard decision

- ava looks so fucking tired when connor says ‘what if there’s another option’. hilarious

- she’s had to do this so many times

- ik this doesn’t completely line up with the idea we set earlier of ava being more ‘high risk high reward’ but an interesting pattern has started to emerge. she never uses those high risk ideas when the cases involve children or babies. she is very considerate in that sense. interesting

- let connor have a crisis of confidence. let him be scared, not confident. it’s what he fucking deserves

- ava here is concerned bc this is suuuper ooc for connor, to take himself off this case. he’s in a bad spot, and she cares for him

- is he really about to find a dead body?

- oh okay

- I FORGOT THE FINALE FOR MANSTEAD IS WILL PROPOSING

- this is so stupid

One more episode boys. This episode was standard Ava stuff. The only thing that I feel needs to be cleared up is Ava’s look of sadness when Connor takes himself off the case. No, it’s not because deep down Ava think that Connor is the right choice. Do not even try to take this there. She is sad because she is concerned for her friend, because his normal state is egotistical. For him to think he is completely unfit, something is very very wrong.
